- 0:10Speaker 1: God bless football, Mikey A.
- 0:14Speaker 2: God bless football, Bear, God bless football. Guys. Well, we
- 0:18Speaker 2: get some some roster moves the other day. We're fired up.
- 0:22Speaker 2: It's always football. What.
- 0:24Speaker 3: Yes, yes, you're fired up. That's why I asked you
- 0:26Speaker 3: to come on today. You were sending some text to
- 0:28Speaker 3: me and Mikey A and a group. Tailor's not here,
- 0:30Speaker 3: he's handling some stuff with Zalacana right now. But you
- 0:34Speaker 3: were all fired up about two well, going to the
- 0:37Speaker 3: falcons and I was like, hey, you want to record today,
- 0:40Speaker 3: and you're.
- 0:40Speaker 2: Like, thanks for the head's up. Let's go appreciate that.
- 0:43Speaker 2: I got a good fifty minutes or so. That was fine.
- 0:46Speaker 2: That's why, and that's why it can shaved this morning.
- 0:47Speaker 2: So a little look good.
- 0:49Speaker 1: This is offseason bear, Yes.
- 0:50Speaker 2: Exactly, we love it. Today's like you, like everyone wants
- 0:54Speaker 2: to expand the college football not everyone, well, like people
- 0:57Speaker 2: talk about expanding the college football playoff, like today in
- 1:00Speaker 2: conference basketball tournaments would be what like a round of
- 1:04Speaker 2: twenty four in the college football playoff would be like
- 1:06Speaker 2: all these teams really don't matter and have no chance,
- 1:09Speaker 2: but they're playing and its content. So we're gonna so
- 1:12Speaker 2: we're gonna watch it. But yes, yeah, no, you you're
- 1:16Speaker 2: putting words in my mouth. But like out for tour
- 1:19Speaker 2: or anything. But look the Atlanta Falcons, Like could you imagine?
- 1:24Speaker 2: Like I was thinking to myself, like, wow, could you
- 1:27Speaker 2: imagine being a Falcons fan? But they've actually been to
- 1:30Speaker 2: a couple of Super Bowls in my lifetime, unlike the
- 1:32Speaker 2: team that we root for. Yep, Like, so you you
- 1:37Speaker 2: sign Kirk Cousins, to draft Michael Panics, to now sign Tua,
- 1:43Speaker 2: Like what are we doing?
- 1:46Speaker 1: Yeah? But TA for them is a bargain for the Dolphins.
- 1:49Speaker 1: They overpaid. It was the worst contract in the history
- 1:51Speaker 1: of the of the NFL.
- 1:53Speaker 3: But the Dolphins are paying that contract now and the
- 1:55Speaker 3: Falcons are getting them on the cheap, And so I
- 1:57Speaker 3: do feel like it's a good deal for the Falcons,
- 1:59Speaker 3: you know, Like.
- 2:00Speaker 2: Is he the backup? Like I don't know, is Kirk
- 2:03Speaker 2: Cousins the backup?
- 2:05Speaker 1: Like, I don't know.
- 2:06Speaker 2: If you're not expecting too to go in there and
- 2:09Speaker 2: compete with Michael Pennix for the starting job, are you?
- 2:12Speaker 2: Because if he, if you are, that's a really stinging,
- 2:16Speaker 2: damning indictment on what you think about Michael Pennix.
- 2:18Speaker 1: No question about it.
- 2:19Speaker 3: But he's coming off an injury, Pennix is and so
- 2:22Speaker 3: it's going to listen to had his best game of
- 2:24Speaker 3: the year last year against the Falcons in that building.
- 2:27Speaker 1: So he had four touchdowns, no interceptions, played very very
- 2:30Speaker 1: well in that game.
- 2:31Speaker 3: I think they're bringing it into a I don't think
- 2:33Speaker 3: they're they're committed to him being the starter, but if
- 2:36Speaker 3: he ends up being the starter, I think they're gonna
- 2:38Speaker 3: be okay with that, you know.
- 2:39Speaker 2: But that's the decided to his greatest performance ever, like
- 2:43Speaker 2: the legend of Tua Alabama with the overtime touchdown pass
- 2:47Speaker 2: against Georgia. Yes, game, I love too, and I hope
- 2:52Speaker 2: he can stay healthy and I'd love to see him
- 2:55Speaker 2: do the job. But it's just like an amazing like
- 2:58Speaker 2: I'll be your first round pick, and you continually get
- 3:02Speaker 2: like this reputation or these upperla like look at look
- 3:05Speaker 2: at freaking Zach Wilson. How the else he's still want
- 3:07Speaker 2: an NFL roster? Right, Yes, but you get from Sam Donald? Yes, well,
- 3:12Speaker 2: get right.
- 3:12Speaker 3: If someone gave up on Sam Donald though, he would
- 3:14Speaker 3: not have won a Super Bowl, right, I mean.
- 3:16Speaker 2: That's the Jets give up on Sam Donald.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Then went to Carolina and then he went to.
- 3:22Speaker 2: San Francisco, and he actually he did okay at San Francisco. Yeah,
- 3:26Speaker 2: you got thrown into action, didn't he? When uh, when
- 3:28Speaker 2: perty got hurt? He did okay, didn't he?
- 3:30Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 3:30Speaker 3: Well, Donald will say that the year he spent as
- 3:32Speaker 3: a backup in San Francisco, just learning how to play
- 3:34Speaker 3: that position with Kyle Shanahan.
- 3:37Speaker 1: Is is what made him as good as he's become here.
- 3:39Speaker 3: And so it is interesting that you're starting to see
- 3:42Speaker 3: a shift, like I think NFL teams are realizing, hey,
- 3:45Speaker 3: we don't have to dump five hundred million dollars onto
- 3:47Speaker 3: a quarterback. We can win with Sam Donald. Yes, that's
- 3:50Speaker 3: the way you do it. And there are people who
- 3:53Speaker 3: believe that you only win a Super Bowl if you
- 3:57Speaker 3: have a Hall of Fame quarterback or a quarter back
- 4:00Speaker 3: on a rookie deal. Now Darnold wasn't on a rookie
- 4:02Speaker 3: deal obviously, but he was on a deal on the
- 4:04Speaker 3: chief kind of yes, and you were able to build
- 4:07Speaker 3: a team around him. And I fully agree with that.
- 4:10Speaker 2: And that's why with some of these people who want
- 4:13Speaker 2: to take quarterbacks all the way at the top. And
- 4:15Speaker 2: we got to take a quarterback number one. The bust
- 4:19Speaker 2: factor risk is so high there. I would rather build
- 4:22Speaker 2: my team, draft a great line, and draft a great
- 4:27Speaker 2: defensive player, draft around, and then you know, Okay, we'll
- 4:30Speaker 2: go out and go out and sign a quarterback in
- 4:32Speaker 2: free agency. And that's kind of the way these college
- 4:34Speaker 2: football teams are doing it right now in the college
- 4:36Speaker 2: foot Indiana Elia. You look at Miami in Indiana like
- 4:40Speaker 2: they're like not recruiting quarterbacks anymore, right sow. You're signing
- 4:44Speaker 2: guys in the portal that to and worry about recruiting
- 4:47Speaker 2: all of the other positions. So I think we might
- 4:50Speaker 2: see a little bit of a paradigm shift, even though
- 4:52Speaker 2: we know Mendoza is going to go number one to
- 4:55Speaker 2: the Raiders.
- 4:55Speaker 1: Bear.
- 4:56Speaker 3: It's kind of interesting because we're growing up watching football
- 4:59Speaker 3: and the guys that were winning Super Bowls. It wasn't
- 5:02Speaker 3: Dan Marino, it was Joe Eisman, it was Mark Rippin,
- 5:06Speaker 3: it was Doug Williams, all three of those guys.
- 5:09Speaker 1: One with Washington, it was Phil Simms winning a couple
- 5:12Speaker 1: with the Giants.
- 5:13Speaker 3: And so maybe we're kind of going back to that
- 5:15Speaker 3: time where a good quarterback is good. If you think
- 5:19Speaker 3: about those teams, even the Cowboys who won three Super Bowls,
- 5:22Speaker 3: that team was built from the inside out.
- 5:24Speaker 1: Ekman was good, he wasn't great. Look at the numbers.
- 5:26Speaker 3: Okay, he had him at Smith, he had Michael Irvitt
- 5:28Speaker 3: and he had the best offensive line in football, maybe
- 5:31Speaker 3: in the history of football.
- 5:32Speaker 2: And even Brady, who was great, he was a sixth
- 5:35Speaker 2: round pick and they weren't expecting him one of the
- 5:38Speaker 2: all time greats when they took him, and picking him
- 5:40Speaker 2: in the sixth round allowed them to plug in and
- 5:44Speaker 2: go out and sign where one year you trade for
- 5:47Speaker 2: Randy Moss and you trade you you bring in a
- 5:49Speaker 2: Corey Dillon. A year you bring in a lawyer molloy
- 5:52Speaker 2: and other guys in that in that your scheme and
- 5:55Speaker 2: helped that defense. So no, you're right, I like I
- 5:59Speaker 2: like having a little bit of a little bit of
- 6:01Speaker 2: an uncertainty and building some some teams around around other positions.
- 6:04Speaker 3: Now, it requires a good organization to do that, people
- 6:07Speaker 3: who know what they're doing, people who kind of think
- 6:10Speaker 3: things through. And I think that's why me and mikey
- 6:12Speaker 3: a Are always swinging for the fences with a quarterback
- 6:14Speaker 3: because we don't trust the people running our organization, you know,
- 6:17Speaker 3: so maybe they'll just stumble and get lucky, stumble into
- 6:20Speaker 3: a great quarterback and then we'll have a chance, you know.
- 6:23Speaker 2: One of these years. And that's why the goal. I
- 6:26Speaker 2: love what the Dolphins are do. I mean, I know,
- 6:27Speaker 2: I know they're eating a whole bunch of money this
- 6:30Speaker 2: year on two is dead contract, But like the goal
- 6:33Speaker 2: is to absolutely suck this year. You can never really
- 6:36Speaker 2: tank in the NFL just because they're they're only seventeen
- 6:40Speaker 2: games and they're the roster. I mean, you've only got
- 6:43Speaker 2: so many people on the roster, and everyone who makes
- 6:46Speaker 2: the roster is pretty good. But like, this is the
- 6:48Speaker 2: year to go for broke because next year is going
- 6:52Speaker 2: to be the year at the top of the draft
- 6:53Speaker 2: where you're going to be able to look at an
- 6:56Speaker 2: arch Manning, look at a Dante more potentially look at
- 6:59Speaker 2: a Julian Saying, and a bunch of other guys out
- 7:02Speaker 2: there as well. Next year is the year you're going
- 7:04Speaker 2: to be looking for your franchise type quarterback. So, by
- 7:08Speaker 2: all means, if you can go two and fifteen this year,
- 7:11Speaker 2: by all means do it.
- 7:12Speaker 1: This would be the year to do it right. Stuck
- 7:15Speaker 1: Got's here.
- 7:16Speaker 3: College basketball is NonStop, big games, tight spreads, momentum swings
- 7:20Speaker 3: every single night, and now FanDuel has giving you a
- 7:24Speaker 3: way to turn that energy into even bigger wins with
- 7:27Speaker 3: a college basketball parlay profit boost.
- 7:30Speaker 1: Here's how it works. Build any college hoops parlay.
- 7:32Speaker 3: You like, the early tip, the rivalry game, the rank matchup,
- 7:36Speaker 3: the late night West Coast shootout, mixed spreads, totals, props,
- 7:40Speaker 3: whatever fits your red of the slate. Then just apply
- 7:43Speaker 3: your profit boost and instantly bump up that potential payout.
- 7:47Speaker 3: Go safe, Go spicy, Go with a team you've been
- 7:50Speaker 3: following all season. It's your parlay, your style now with
- 7:54Speaker 3: more upside behind it. I'm looking for senior leadership, great

- 9:23Speaker 1: Mendoza, what's the ceiling for him?
- 9:25Speaker 3: If I told you Mendoza wins.
- 9:28Speaker 1: A Super Bowl? Will that exceed your expectations? Hey?
- 9:31Speaker 2: Yes, yes, yes, absolutely, Wow. I was going out. I
- 9:36Speaker 2: was gonna wonder if you were like a career comp
- 9:39Speaker 2: and then like the first name that kind of came
- 9:41Speaker 2: to mind was Andy Dalton's kind of a long career,
- 9:47Speaker 2: good solid quarterback makes the playoffs run a little bit.
- 9:53Speaker 2: You're never gonna be embarrassed by him, like like someone
- 9:56Speaker 2: like that. Right, if he's Andy Dalton, I think the
- 9:59Speaker 2: Raiders would be ecstatic. Number one overall.
- 10:02Speaker 6: Picks don't get Andy Dalton careers they get they get
- 10:05Speaker 6: either out of the league or they get a chance
- 10:07Speaker 6: to start.
- 10:08Speaker 2: They don't get hey, come in, be this guy's mentor
- 10:11Speaker 2: be this guy's backup. Number one picks don't get that.
- 10:13Speaker 3: No, but they'll get second, third, and four chances. I
- 10:15Speaker 3: mean the way two it is right now? Yes, but
- 10:17Speaker 3: to start right?
- 10:19Speaker 1: Yes?
- 10:19Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 10:20Speaker 1: Like is that fair?
- 10:21Speaker 2: Yeah, that's very fair. I wonder if if how that
- 10:26Speaker 2: Chad Pennington. Oh, i'd be if he's Chad Pennington, that'd
- 10:31Speaker 2: be great.
- 10:32Speaker 1: But do you think the Raiders think that's his ceiling?
- 10:34Speaker 3: They have to think more of him than Andy Dalton
- 10:36Speaker 3: or Chad Pennington to take him number one overall, don't they?
- 10:39Speaker 2: Of course they think more. Everybody thinks more. Everybody thought
- 10:42Speaker 2: Zach Wilson was going to be something. Everybody thought Trey
- 10:45Speaker 2: Lance at eighteen years old, was not playing for a year.
- 10:48Speaker 2: The things he can do on with.
- 10:50Speaker 1: John Lynch thought that, let's be honest, I.
- 10:51Speaker 2: Mean, I mean, no one, no one's gonna admit to
- 10:57Speaker 2: be and they just say, like we're taking a number one,
- 11:00Speaker 2: you know, if he could, if he if he can
- 11:02Speaker 2: be whatever, We'll take that. Everyone thinks they got a
- 11:07Speaker 2: future Hall of Famer on everybody overreached their talent.
- 11:10Speaker 1: I mean, he's got it.
- 11:12Speaker 2: It's like the w S a n caller, Like what
- 11:14Speaker 2: what if the Jets offered Garrett Wilson to the Niners
- 11:19Speaker 2: and they and they got Michel Williams, brock Purty or
- 11:24Speaker 2: Matt Jones and like two number one picks. It's like
- 11:27Speaker 2: the old like the ridiculous trades that the callers were called. Everybody,
- 11:31Speaker 2: everybody thinks that their player there, their offer is the best.
- 11:34Speaker 1: Of course they do.
- 11:35Speaker 3: That's what That's what fandom is all about, right, Yes,
- 11:39Speaker 3: bet we were having a conversation about the World Baseball
- 11:42Speaker 3: Classic earlier.
- 11:43Speaker 1: Would you root for?
- 11:45Speaker 3: Would you root for your favorite player if your player
- 11:48Speaker 3: didn't play for the United States, meaning if your favorite
- 11:50Speaker 3: baseball player played for the Dominican Republic, would you root
- 11:54Speaker 3: for the d R over your your country, the United
- 11:56Speaker 3: States of America?
- 11:57Speaker 2: Yes?
- 11:58Speaker 1: Really a heartbeat?
- 12:00Speaker 2: What yes?
- 12:02Speaker 1: I mean, Jesus Christ, you hate the United States.
- 12:05Speaker 2: Because no, I don't. It's all where bear has money.
- 12:10Speaker 2: That's what I By the way, what what Let me
- 12:14Speaker 2: let me go back and look at my uh my
- 12:16Speaker 2: text threat here from from last week. Hey, used to
- 12:20Speaker 2: you use the FanDuel boost on Junior Cameranaro up to
- 12:24Speaker 2: eighty five to one to be uh, yes, hey, the
- 12:27Speaker 2: WB I crickets Cricket's back from you guys, and I
- 12:30Speaker 2: think he's like fourteen to one now to be uh,
- 12:33Speaker 2: I placed it?
- 12:34Speaker 1: He did?
- 12:35Speaker 2: I placed it?
- 12:36Speaker 1: He did place it?
- 12:37Speaker 2: And Aaron, look, I'm a I'm a Yankees fan and
- 12:40Speaker 2: I lot of love Aaron Judge, I think it's it's
- 12:42Speaker 2: You're right. It's a weird event though, because well it
- 12:45Speaker 2: kind of has this like nationalistic Olympic type feel baseball.
- 12:51Speaker 2: The way people consume baseball these days is through like
- 12:55Speaker 2: fantasy and daily fantasy and betting, and you you're root
- 13:00Speaker 2: for player is a lot more than your root for teams.
- 13:03Speaker 2: So like, if I'm a if aby Yankees fan and
- 13:06Speaker 2: I hate the Red Sox, why don't want want to
- 13:08Speaker 2: root for Roman Anthony? Right?
- 13:10Speaker 3: I mean I guess, I mean he hit a three
- 13:11Speaker 3: run homer for your country last night, But you don't
- 13:13Speaker 3: care enough about the country element of this is what
- 13:16Speaker 3: you're saying.
- 13:16Speaker 2: No, not at all. It feels kind.
- 13:19Speaker 1: Of like more of an all It feels manufactured, yes.
- 13:22Speaker 2: The manufactured All Star Game performance. But but the one
- 13:26Speaker 2: thing I will say, the fans absolutely love it. How
- 13:30Speaker 2: great is it to watch the Dominican Republic games and
- 13:34Speaker 2: the fans just eating it up when either Soto or
- 13:39Speaker 2: Machado or Tatisse or Kevin Arra or going. It is
- 13:43Speaker 2: awesome to watch. And again you wonder if that's ever
- 13:47Speaker 2: possible in Major League Baseball to keep that enthusiasm going.
- 13:50Speaker 2: But for for TV and for a spectator fan purpose,
- 13:54Speaker 2: it's been a massive hit.
- 13:56Speaker 3: Not with one hundred and sixty two regular season games,
- 13:58Speaker 3: it's not. I mean, you have to create stakes, you
- 14:00Speaker 3: have to create urgency, and they have neither. Baseball, they
- 14:03Speaker 3: have not. That's what the postseason. There is such a
- 14:06Speaker 3: disparity in their postseason in terms of all four of
- 14:09Speaker 3: the major sports that maybe hockey, the just the disparity
- 14:13Speaker 3: between the postseason and the regular.
- 14:15Speaker 1: Season is staggering. At baseball.
- 14:17Speaker 3: I love the postseason in baseball. I cannot watch regular
- 14:20Speaker 3: season baseball.
- 14:21Speaker 2: I'm with you, and I am I grew up as
- 14:23Speaker 2: a baseball junkie. It should I was the guy. The
- 14:25Speaker 2: guy sitting there on the couch is like a ten
- 14:29Speaker 2: year old Sam turning on w p i X channel eleven,
- 14:33Speaker 2: well watching the person and Bill White and Phil Rizzuto
- 14:36Speaker 2: and whomever else keeping score for a random July Yankees A.
- 14:41Speaker 2: But yeah, now it's just hard to do this, so
- 14:43Speaker 2: many other things going on, and I think the pitch clock.
- 14:48Speaker 2: I am curious to tune in this year for the
- 14:51Speaker 2: for the for the for the abs, for the automack
- 14:53Speaker 2: balls and strikes, and to see how that maybe changes things,
- 14:56Speaker 2: just to kind of uh. I think it's gonna be
- 15:00Speaker 2: interesting because a lot of the people just kind of
- 15:02Speaker 2: like dumping on the umpires, and I think we're gonna
- 15:05Speaker 2: realize that the umpires probably did a much better job
- 15:08Speaker 2: than we give them credit.

- 16:24Speaker 3: Like?
- 16:24Speaker 1: What's the gambling scene look like? For Bear this week?
- 16:27Speaker 2: I'm a little depressed.
- 16:29Speaker 1: Why?
- 16:30Speaker 2: Why this week is the NHC the National Handicapping Championship. Yeah,
- 16:35Speaker 2: horse racing in Vegas. And last year, I just with
- 16:40Speaker 2: my busy schedule during the fall, I really didn't have
- 16:43Speaker 2: a chance to play in as many qualifiers for the contest.
- 16:46Speaker 2: You have to qualify. You can't buy a seat in.
- 16:48Speaker 2: You've got to qualify. And I did not qualify, and
- 16:52Speaker 2: I fell behind, and I was chasing late and then
- 16:55Speaker 2: Sunday and the last opportunity on the weekend, there were
- 16:59Speaker 2: a couple of seats. Of the two couple of contests
- 17:01Speaker 2: I played in, there was one contest that offered one seat.
- 17:05Speaker 2: I finished second. There was another contest that offered two seats.
- 17:09Speaker 2: I finished third. Wow, I just missed out on qualifying.
- 17:13Speaker 2: So I'm not in Vegas this week for the first
- 17:15Speaker 2: time in a long time, and I'm I'm a little depressed.
- 17:19Speaker 2: But in order sorry body that we're we'll be we'll
- 17:22Speaker 2: be okay. In order to get my fix in in
- 17:25Speaker 2: my fill, I decided I had a fire on Arkansas
- 17:29Speaker 2: Pine Bluff to win the SWACK to to kind of
- 17:32Speaker 2: to kind of get my fix.
- 17:33Speaker 1: In, and then, uh, this is an effort to try
- 17:35Speaker 1: to make yourself feel better.
- 17:36Speaker 2: Huh Yeah, I felt better. Uh, I felt a little
- 17:39Speaker 2: bit better by firing on George Mason uh to win
- 17:43Speaker 2: the A ten and I fired on Florida State to
- 17:46Speaker 2: win the ACC So a couple of nice long conference
- 17:50Speaker 2: title bets. To throw some pizza.
- 17:52Speaker 1: So how'd you qualify for Vegas? What happens next? You
- 17:55Speaker 1: go out to Vegas, go out.
- 17:56Speaker 2: To Vegas, and it's I think now it's like five
- 18:00Speaker 2: hundred people tops, I think is what it turns out
- 18:02Speaker 2: to be. You qualify and there is a three day
- 18:06Speaker 2: tournament for a million dollars there. Friday and Saturday are
- 18:10Speaker 2: the first two days of the tournament. You get twenty
- 18:13Speaker 2: bets to make hypothetical win place bets and the like.
- 18:18Speaker 2: The top ten percent of the bank roll after Saturday
- 18:22Speaker 2: go on to Sunday and that's when you wind up
- 18:24Speaker 2: playing for the grand prize. So it's awesome to go
- 18:27Speaker 2: out there and see a bunch of people usually only
- 18:30Speaker 2: see a couple of times a year, but yet not
- 18:33Speaker 2: to be out there kind of sucks.
- 18:37Speaker 3: So this is a who's Who of gambling, Mikey, This
- 18:39Speaker 3: is like a who's all. The best gamble in the
- 18:43Speaker 3: world are in one room.
- 18:44Speaker 2: All of the best horse players in the world are
- 18:46Speaker 2: in one ballroom at the Horseshoe in Vegas. Yeah, it's
- 18:51Speaker 2: an awesome scene. Imagine imagine four hundred people or so guys,
- 18:57Speaker 2: a little looking like me, bald, over eight glasses, not
- 19:01Speaker 2: shaven for a year, jerseys on.
- 19:04Speaker 1: Yes, I was imagining.
- 19:06Speaker 2: Yes, imagine like a room of that and that's what
- 19:11Speaker 2: it is over over over three days. Sounds fun, right,
- 19:15Speaker 2: have you ever won it? No?
- 19:16Speaker 1: No, have you ever won it?
- 19:18Speaker 2: No?
- 19:19Speaker 1: No.
- 19:19Speaker 2: My best finish was to finish top thirty top thirty
- 19:24Speaker 2: is it was my best finish I was. I was
- 19:27Speaker 2: in a position to make the final table one year
- 19:30Speaker 2: and I got pasted late. So May May made a
- 19:35Speaker 2: lucky with me.
- 19:36Speaker 3: So you have friends within this group, right, like, oh yeah,
- 19:39Speaker 3: oh yeah I had so did they talk so so
- 19:42Speaker 3: the fact that you didn't make the fact that you
- 19:44Speaker 3: didn't make it, Did they talk shit to you?
- 19:46Speaker 1: Like what happens? Then?
- 19:47Speaker 2: No? No, it's a respect factause they know they know
- 19:51Speaker 2: how important this is. And when I was telling, when
- 19:53Speaker 2: I was texting my buddies about my my disappointment on Sunday,
- 19:58Speaker 2: they were like, oh God, that sucks. What a brutal beat,
- 20:02Speaker 2: But what a great job of handicap and a lot
- 20:03Speaker 2: of a lot, a lot of respect. It's like the
- 20:06Speaker 2: old Miami Florida state rivalry where you know, you don't
- 20:10Speaker 2: you don't hate them as much, you respect them because
- 20:13Speaker 2: they play each other, whereas like Florida used to never
- 20:15Speaker 2: play Miami and always like screw Florida. But there was
- 20:20Speaker 2: there was a respect and a code of honor between
- 20:23Speaker 2: Horse players that you don't want to You don't want
- 20:26Speaker 2: to kick a horse player while they're down. Yeah, are you?
- 20:28Speaker 2: Are you guys sharing? Are you guys sharing other bets
- 20:31Speaker 2: when this is happening? Are you guys like? Oh God,
- 20:35Speaker 2: I'll tell you because it happens during championship weeks. So
- 20:39Speaker 2: literally the first thing you bring the sheet down and
- 20:41Speaker 2: they set up sports book kiosks in the in the
- 20:44Speaker 2: big ballroom to be able to bet uh horse stuff
- 20:47Speaker 2: and to be able to bet basketball, to be able
- 20:50Speaker 2: to bet whatever else. I remember last year and it
- 20:54Speaker 2: was going on during the finals of the Carabell Cup
- 20:58Speaker 2: where where Newcastle want to in Liverpool, and I was
- 21:01Speaker 2: pissed off beyond believe. I was just so dejected on
- 21:04Speaker 2: Sunday A that I didn't make the make the top
- 21:06Speaker 2: fifty to play for Sunday and then Liverpool went up losing.
- 21:09Speaker 2: It was just terrible, right.
- 21:11Speaker 1: I'm sure your wife is happy to make it though.
- 21:13Speaker 2: I mean that that is an interesting conversation on Sunday
- 21:19Speaker 2: night after I everything was over, and I was like
- 21:22Speaker 2: waiting for like the appropriate because because I usually she'll
- 21:26Speaker 2: like ask how did you do in the contest, and
- 21:28Speaker 2: she didn't and I said, you know, interesting day in
- 21:31Speaker 2: the contest, and it was like, I don't even want
- 21:33Speaker 2: to know. Am I in trouble or something? But it
- 21:37Speaker 2: would have been interesting because we're leaving on our cruise
- 21:41Speaker 2: on Wednesday, so this would have been us. Yeah, this
- 21:44Speaker 2: would have been being Vegas Sunday, get home Monday early morning,
- 21:51Speaker 2: and then like have Tuesday before we leave Wednesday. That
- 21:53Speaker 2: would have been that. That would have been interesting to
- 21:56Speaker 2: see how that conversation would have went, like, wait a minute,
- 21:59Speaker 2: you're going to they guess now for contest and we're
- 22:02Speaker 2: leaving for two weeks on Wednesday. When are you gonna
- 22:05Speaker 2: get ready? Am I supposed to be the one that's
- 22:07Speaker 2: gonna go out and get everything ready and get what
- 22:10Speaker 2: we need and start packing and taking care of all
- 22:12Speaker 2: the things that need to get done. That would have
- 22:14Speaker 2: been That would have been fun. It's an easy conversation.
- 22:17Speaker 2: If you win the million, correct, yes, yes, if you
- 22:21Speaker 2: win the million, you are, don't you?
- 22:28Speaker 1: I got a chance of the million? What are you
- 22:29Speaker 1: doing done?
- 22:31Speaker 2: I'm going to I'm going to Pets Smart to get
- 22:34Speaker 2: three weeks worth the captin.
- 22:36Speaker 3: Right, is it Pets Smart or pet Mart Pets? Did
- 22:41Speaker 3: you see the Instagram thing is that what we talked
- 22:43Speaker 3: about the radio show is all over this thing.
- 22:46Speaker 1: Man.
- 22:46Speaker 2: I'm I'm I'm see. I didn't what I always watching
- 22:49Speaker 2: tennis yesterday?
- 22:50Speaker 1: So I didn't. That's okay, Yes, now I'd be watching
- 22:52Speaker 1: tennis too if I were you.
- 22:53Speaker 2: I like you guys. But yes, it's pet smart, like
- 22:59Speaker 2: pets Smart, Pet pets mark. But I say PetSmart.
- 23:05Speaker 1: But to say it again, say the way you say
- 23:07Speaker 1: it pet smart, and I say what it's supposed to be.
- 23:10Speaker 2: Pets smart?
- 23:11Speaker 1: Yeah, Pet's smart, right, Yes, pets space marked. I love
- 23:21Speaker 1: the idea of Bear flying home in a red high
- 23:23Speaker 1: having twenty four hours to get ready for a cruise
- 23:26Speaker 1: with Vegas all over them.
- 23:29Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, you can fly home and get twenty four
- 23:31Speaker 2: hours to fly fourteen hours to Buenos Aires.
- 23:34Speaker 1: Yes, I can't believe you're doing that. It's amazing.
- 23:37Speaker 2: Neither can I. Oh I would. So the other day,
- 23:44Speaker 2: my one, the long time fantasy league that I'm in,
- 23:47Speaker 2: I get the calendar in by Baseball Hour ur DBL
- 23:50Speaker 2: Fantasy Draft Monday night, the twenty third, seven pm Eastern.
- 23:55Speaker 2: That pops into the calendar and I get the you
- 23:58Speaker 2: have a baseball Fantasy draft while we're on vacation. Yeah,
- 24:03Speaker 2: wife goes.
- 24:03Speaker 1: On sorry, yes, yeah, every year, same day.
- 24:07Speaker 2: It's going to be nine o'clock in the middle of
- 24:11Speaker 2: the Atlantic where we're gonna be. Hopefully the Wi Fi works.
- 24:13Speaker 2: If not, you're in trouble. Yes, some great keepers this year.
- 24:16Speaker 1: Yes, is your wife aware of who she married? I mean.
- 24:21Speaker 2: Yes, okay, yes, something selectively.
- 24:24Speaker 3: Right, I'm just surprised that she's surprised that you have
- 24:27Speaker 3: a fantasy draft wall on a cruise.
- 24:30Speaker 2: You are aware that baseball season starts that week? And yes,
- 24:34Speaker 2: every year I do this, right, and this this this
- 24:38Speaker 2: tournament with like sixty eight basketball teams that goes on,
- 24:42Speaker 2: you know, like in March. That that happens every year. Right,
- 24:46Speaker 2: she hates basketball though.
- 24:49Speaker 1: I think she hates sports.
- 24:50Speaker 2: No, she That's the crazy thing is she doesn't Wow
- 24:55Speaker 2: loves football, she loves hockey, she loves tennis. Can't stay
- 25:00Speaker 2: basketball team. Now.
- 25:01Speaker 3: But here's the thing, Bear, She's married to a a
- 25:03Speaker 3: professional gambler, and so loving sports and gambling on sports
- 25:07Speaker 3: are two very different things. If you're just a fan
- 25:10Speaker 3: of sports, you're a fan of sports, it doesn't take
- 25:12Speaker 3: up that much time.
- 25:13Speaker 1: When you bet the way you bet that takes up
- 25:16Speaker 1: a lot of time. Dare it does? Yes?
- 25:19Speaker 2: And that's what I did yesterday to just I'm sitting
- 25:22Speaker 2: here and I'm like, what kind of freaking job do
- 25:24Speaker 2: I have? Where? Like my day is like, Okay, what
- 25:28Speaker 2: season win total? Am I gonna play over or under?
- 25:31Speaker 2: Like like, oh, yeah, you know, I'll think I'll fire
- 25:33Speaker 2: on a Mets Orioles World Series exact D ninety eight
- 25:37Speaker 2: to one. She's like figuring out programming schedules and who's
- 25:42Speaker 2: going to direct the eleven o'clock Sports Center on Friday night?
- 25:45Speaker 2: And I'm saying, hey, you know what, Red Sox under
- 25:48Speaker 2: eighty seven and a half looks good?
- 25:51Speaker 1: Crazy?
- 25:52Speaker 3: Yeah, crazy, But you're an in game better. It's just
- 25:54Speaker 3: it's very time consuming for you to gambling party. Some
- 25:58Speaker 3: people put in a bet and they just wait and
- 25:59Speaker 3: see what happens.
- 26:00Speaker 2: You don't Troy in game worked out last night?
- 26:03Speaker 1: Right? Of course it did.
- 26:07Speaker 2: What's a story, by the way, six games in six
- 26:09Speaker 2: days for Georgia Southern. If they were a one, that
- 26:11Speaker 2: would have been amazing.
- 26:12Speaker 1: Yep. Uh, what's the worst?
- 26:14Speaker 2: Uh?
- 26:14Speaker 1: What's the worst beat you've ever had? By the way?
- 26:16Speaker 3: Real quick, before I asked that question. How much is
- 26:18Speaker 3: your fantasy baseball league for? Do you mind me asking?
- 26:21Speaker 2: Oh, it's not a lot at all. Okay, it's like
- 26:25Speaker 2: a one hundred and fifty dollars or two hundred dollars
- 26:29Speaker 2: entry fee.
- 26:29Speaker 1: With okay, a thousand people.
- 26:31Speaker 2: It's it's about pride. Is the about where the hor
- 26:34Speaker 2: Where were you're talking about the horse racing better? Is?
- 26:36Speaker 1: Yes?
- 26:37Speaker 2: Where we don't? The fantasy league's more about talking shit
- 26:41Speaker 2: than anything else, right like that, that's what that's about.
- 26:44Speaker 1: No, I'm in a similar league with my friends.
- 26:46Speaker 3: We've been doing it forever, but it's pricey, and I
- 26:48Speaker 3: don't feel like doing it anymore because baseball is time consuming.
- 26:51Speaker 3: So I've asked Taylor if he'd like to do it,
- 26:52Speaker 3: but I don't trust Taylor. I'd like you to do
- 26:55Speaker 3: it with him. I put up the money, I put
- 26:57Speaker 3: up the money. We get fifty to fifty on the win, okay.
- 27:00Speaker 3: And so I'm telling you the year I won, I
- 27:02Speaker 3: won like seventy two thousand dollars.
- 27:04Speaker 2: All right, Oh my god, that's awesome.
- 27:06Speaker 1: All right, So you're gonna do it?
- 27:08Speaker 2: Yeah? Yeah, yes, I love the Fantasy baseball is the
- 27:14Speaker 2: one fantasy sport that I still play. I love it
- 27:17Speaker 2: because I did not plan this. By the way, I
- 27:22Speaker 2: got my I got my magazine.
- 27:23Speaker 1: Oh wow, yes, is that's.
- 27:26Speaker 2: Lindy's Lindy Mike too much. Tradition normally is to bring
- 27:31Speaker 2: these on my trip to Turks and Caicos in February,
- 27:35Speaker 2: but being we didn't go to Turks and Caicos in February,
- 27:37Speaker 2: I did not have that opportunity. But so yeah, I've
- 27:40Speaker 2: had that I wore. I read some of them on
- 27:42Speaker 2: the like I love looking for the the prospects that
- 27:46Speaker 2: gonna beg that are gonna be coming up, multiple position eligibility. Yes,
- 27:52Speaker 2: we're gonna have to offline this and figure out when
- 27:54Speaker 2: the uh when the draft is. What the situation here is.
- 27:57Speaker 1: With all right, Mikey, you wanted on this, you seem disappointed,
- 27:59Speaker 1: you seem upset. I'll cut you in if you.
- 28:00Speaker 2: Want listen, I'll take a chunk. But I'm gonna let
- 28:03Speaker 2: Bear make all the choice, all the choices.
- 28:05Speaker 3: Well, yes, yes, what I'm trying to do is prevent
- 28:07Speaker 3: Taylor from making any of the choices because I'll have
- 28:09Speaker 3: a team of Yankees.
- 28:12Speaker 2: My buddy Nick, who is a massive Yankees fan. It's
- 28:16Speaker 2: the same and his wife is from just outside Milwaukee.
- 28:20Speaker 2: His team, like every year, is like sixty percent combination
- 28:23Speaker 2: of Yankees and Brewers. It's hysterical. If there's like a
- 28:27Speaker 2: Brewer's hot young prospect, like like last year, like Jacob
- 28:32Speaker 2: Misraowski like was his minor league, like Jackson Trario a
- 28:35Speaker 2: couple of years ago, is his minor Like he's taken
- 28:37Speaker 2: any hot Yankee or or or Brewer prospect, you know
- 28:40Speaker 2: that you have to take them like three out three
- 28:43Speaker 2: rounds earlier than you would because old Nick is gonna
- 28:45Speaker 2: pop in there and grab them.
- 28:48Speaker 1: Uh. Did you see that story with a marathon?
- 28:51Speaker 2: No?
- 28:52Speaker 3: Oh, you did see the marathon finished? Because I'm wondering
- 28:54Speaker 3: how Bear would have handled this if he had gambled
- 28:56Speaker 3: on the marathon. Have you ever bet on a marathon?
- 28:59Speaker 2: No?
- 29:01Speaker 3: There was a Kenyan runner who was just light years
- 29:03Speaker 3: ahead of an American runner, but a fan came out
- 29:06Speaker 3: with a sign, and the Kenyan runner, who's you know,
- 29:09Speaker 3: close to the end, follows the fan and the sign.
- 29:13Speaker 3: Off course at someone from the United States catches up
- 29:17Speaker 3: and wins the marathon and the Kenyan runner game in second.
- 29:21Speaker 1: It's Darren, what a bad beat that.
- 29:23Speaker 2: Would have been Yeah, that would have been a situation
- 29:29Speaker 2: that would not have been handled very well, not at all.
- 29:33Speaker 1: By you, right by me, Yes, who cares about the marathon?
- 29:37Speaker 1: Just by you? Right?
- 29:38Speaker 2: Could you? Could you? Can you imagine like people in
- 29:41Speaker 2: Kenya like watching this. I'm sure they are. We're gonna
- 29:45Speaker 2: win again. Until you don't.
- 29:50Speaker 1: Bear. We love you. Sorry that you don't like to
- 29:53Speaker 1: or the United States. No, no, just the United States.
- 30:00Speaker 2: Yeah, I like too, I just don't like to. You know,
- 30:01Speaker 2: that's not true.
- 30:03Speaker 1: That's not true of No.
- 30:05Speaker 2: I know. If the US were to play anybody but
- 30:07Speaker 2: the Dominican Republic, I'll root for the US. The US players,
- 30:11Speaker 2: the DR.
- 30:12Speaker 1: I'll root for DR, unless it's Roman. Anthony
