- 1:27Speaker 4: All right.
- 1:29Speaker 2: It is the nine o'clock hour. As we mentioned earlier
- 1:32Speaker 2: in the show, we're going to sprinkle in some bold
- 1:34Speaker 2: predictions throughout the show. Also though, here at the start
- 1:37Speaker 2: of the nine o'clock hour, we're going to go around
- 1:39Speaker 2: the major conferences, give you the conference winner here in
- 1:43Speaker 2: the preseason and, We're going to give you a Heisman
- 1:45Speaker 2: Trophy pick, and we're going to pick a, you said
- 1:48Speaker 2: national champion? Like, we're going to do that here on
- 1:50Speaker 2: September the 3rd?
- 1:50Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 1:51Speaker 6: Maybe not.
- 1:51Speaker 5: Maybe not. Why not, though?
- 1:53Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:54Speaker 5: Maybe not, but why not?
- 1:55Speaker 2: Scary money don't make money?
- 1:58Speaker 7: That's a great plan. Maybe not, but why not?
- 2:00Speaker 2: But why not?
- 2:02Speaker 7: That's what I live by.
- 2:03Speaker 5: All right. So what are we doing now? You want
- 2:05Speaker 5: to go bold predictions? You want to do something spicier?
- 2:10Speaker 2: No, let's go around the power four.
- 2:13Speaker 4: Okay.
- 2:14Speaker 2: And we'll go in order, ACC, Big 10, Big 12, SEC.
- 2:20Speaker 5: Okay.
- 2:22Speaker 2: You said we were doing this at 9 o'clock. You
- 2:23Speaker 2: actually teased us.
- 2:24Speaker 5: That's true. Lost track of time. A little internet sitch.
- 2:28Speaker 2: I didn't lose track of time. I lost track of
- 2:30Speaker 2: a lot of things, but not time.
- 2:31Speaker 5: Of yourself.
- 2:32Speaker 2: No, I knew who myself was coming in today.
- 2:36Speaker 7: He was very self-aware of.
- 2:38Speaker 2: I told you. I didn't half-step into the day. You
- 2:43Speaker 2: ninja flip every day? I don't. I did it today.
- 2:45Speaker 5: Ninja get up? Yeah. Out of bed?
- 2:47Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
- 2:48Speaker 5: Good for you. Stuff on the low back, though.
- 2:51Speaker 7: I think the ACC Notre Dame is going to win it.
- 2:55Speaker 5: That would be bold.
- 2:56Speaker 2: That would be very bold. Well done. Well done. Well
- 2:59Speaker 2: played there. All right, let's go to the ACC.
- 3:03Speaker 6: Okay.
- 3:04Speaker 5: It's going to be a tricky one here.
- 3:06Speaker 2: The champion of the Atlantic Coast Conference is going to be.
- 3:11Speaker 7: Was it Duke last season? Or no, they went. Yeah,
- 3:15Speaker 7: it was Duke.
- 3:16Speaker 2: The Blue Devils. And we ain't talking about Coach K.
- 3:19Speaker 6: Based off of one game, I'm going to say Virginia.
- 3:21Speaker 5: Yeah, they did look really good.
- 3:24Speaker 2: Their odds, I think, are fourth best.
- 3:27Speaker 5: And maybe North Carolina State. That's who they played, right?
- 3:30Speaker 5: North Carolina State. Maybe they just aren't very good. But
- 3:33Speaker 5: they looked disciplined. They were very– they executed their game
- 3:38Speaker 5: plan really well. Pribula looked very dynamic. With throwing and running.
- 3:43Speaker 5: They look like the real deal. I think Miami's probably
- 3:45Speaker 5: going to be the chalk answer here. I think they're
- 3:47Speaker 5: the odds-on favorite to win the ACC. Then you got, what,
- 3:52Speaker 5: Louisville sitting at third?
- 3:54Speaker 2: So the odds right now in Vegas to win the ACC, Miami, SMU, Louisville, Virginia, Clemson.
- 4:02Speaker 5: SMU's a tough pick.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:04Speaker 5: I'm not sold on that quarterback.
- 4:06Speaker 7: Yeah, SMU, I'm a little.
- 4:07Speaker 5: He's played a lot of football, but he's not.
- 4:09Speaker 2: He's had some good moments. I feel like his big.
- 4:12Speaker 5: Games have not been very good.
- 4:16Speaker 2: He's hit or miss. I'll give you that. I mean,
- 4:18Speaker 2: my hits and misses, but he has... Certainly had some misses.
- 4:20Speaker 5: Maybe he's got the quarterback, right? Like Darian Mensah.
- 4:23Speaker 8: I think Mark Fletcher is like one of the most
- 4:25Speaker 8: underrated running backs in college football. If they would have
- 4:27Speaker 8: ran with him more against Ole Miss, that game wouldn't
- 4:29Speaker 8: have been as close as it was.
- 4:30Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 4:30Speaker 8: Whatever reason they stopped in the third quarter. Like that
- 4:33Speaker 8: be golden defense could not stop him in the playoff
- 4:36Speaker 8: to Virginia. They got two fifth year players, a sixth
- 4:39Speaker 8: year and two seventh year guys on their offensive line.
- 4:41Speaker 8: That's a lot of football up front. Like when they
- 4:43Speaker 8: said that pregame on the broadcast, I was like, this
- 4:46Speaker 8: might get ugly for North Carolina quick.
- 4:48Speaker 5: And it, NC State quick. And it did. So, I mean,
- 4:51Speaker 5: they're going to be a tough out. But Miami, Virginia.
- 4:54Speaker 5: To give you all the odds, Miami is minus 146
- 4:56Speaker 5: to win the ACC. SMU has the second best odds
- 5:00Speaker 5: at plus 580. Louisville plus 800. Virginia plus 1,300. Clemson
- 5:06Speaker 5: plus 1,450. So, like, we talked about this yesterday. Ole
- 5:11Speaker 5: Miss plays Louisville. LSU plays Clemson. Louisville nearly has twice. Yep.
- 5:20Speaker 5: the chance of winning the ACC, according to Vegas, than
- 5:23Speaker 5: Clemson does. So if you want to talk about who's
- 5:26Speaker 5: got the tougher matchup between Ole Miss and LSU, because
- 5:28Speaker 5: we've talked about that matchup. You cannot forget about week one. Right.
- 5:32Speaker 5: I think about week three.
- 5:33Speaker 2: Again, not in Oxford. This game's a neutral side game.
- 5:36Speaker 2: I think they'll have the crowd.
- 5:37Speaker 5: I do. But it's not a home game. Vegas believes
- 5:41Speaker 5: Louisville is a better team than Clemson.
- 5:44Speaker 2: Louisville, as I like to say.
- 5:47Speaker 5: I'm going to take Miami. I think there's enough time.
- 5:48Speaker 2: I'm going Miami.
- 5:49Speaker 7: I'm going to lock in Virginia.
- 5:50Speaker 2: I like that.
- 5:51Speaker 5: I like that.
- 5:51Speaker 2: Use that as a bold prediction, too.
- 5:53Speaker 5: They were fun to watch. They were a fun team
- 5:54Speaker 5: to watch.
- 5:54Speaker 2: I think it qualifies as a bold prediction.
- 5:56Speaker 5: I like, yeah, I would think so, too.
- 5:57Speaker 7: Wait, is this a real prediction?
- 5:58Speaker 5: This is a real one. This is a real prediction.
- 6:00Speaker 7: I'm going to still go Virginia.
- 6:01Speaker 1: Whatever.
- 6:01Speaker 2: It's not bad. It looks really good.
- 6:03Speaker 5: I love what I saw from them.
- 6:04Speaker 2: They played for the title last year.
- 6:06Speaker 7: Yeah, true.
- 6:07Speaker 8: I mean, we didn't get to weekend winners this week,
- 6:09Speaker 8: but I would have given it to Pribula. There was
- 6:11Speaker 8: a story that came out about Pribula. He was on
- 6:14Speaker 8: campus visiting Virginia Tech, like going to sign with James Franklin.
- 6:19Speaker 8: On his visit, James Franklin signed another quarterback.
- 6:21Speaker 2: From Penn State.
- 6:22Speaker 8: So, Pribula's scrambling. He's trying to find somebody. He goes
- 6:26Speaker 8: right down the road to Virginia. I think he's got
- 6:28Speaker 8: a little something to prove behind that really good offensive line. Like,
- 6:30Speaker 8: Virginia's going to be a tough out this year.
- 6:32Speaker 5: What I find really fascinating, like what I enjoy watching
- 6:36Speaker 5: when I watch football, that's why I enjoy watching the NFL,
- 6:38Speaker 5: you know, a little bit more superior than college to me,
- 6:41Speaker 5: Is it because I like to watch well-executed ball, like well-thought-out, play-calling,
- 6:47Speaker 5: well-coached teams, and guys that know what they're doing and
- 6:49Speaker 5: execute the plays really well. Virginia looked like they did
- 6:53Speaker 5: that the other day. They looked like a very disciplined team,
- 6:58Speaker 5: and I liked the way they executed their plays.
- 7:01Speaker 7: And that's one of the things we would say about Indiana.
- 7:04Speaker 5: Exactly. So I'm going Miami.
- 7:08Speaker 2: Virginia.
- 7:09Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm going to go with Virginia also. You're going
- 7:11Speaker 5: with Virginia too? Jake?
- 7:13Speaker 2: Miami. Miami. I think the trench play is going to
- 7:16Speaker 2: set them apart. I do think Virginia is going to
- 7:18Speaker 2: be loud in the ACC all season long, though.
- 7:21Speaker 5: All right. So no one taking SMU, Louisville, or Clemson.
- 7:24Speaker 1: All right.
- 7:24Speaker 5: There we go. All right.
- 7:25Speaker 2: Let's go to the Big Ten. Big 10 right now.
- 7:29Speaker 2: We'll give you the top five odds. Ohio State plus 180.
- 7:32Speaker 2: Oregon plus 240. Indiana plus 260. Then there's a drop-off.
- 7:37Speaker 2: USC plus 1,600. The Michigan Wolverines plus 1,700. And let's
- 7:41Speaker 2: throw one more in for Ishan Giggles. Penn State plus 2,200.
- 7:46Speaker 5: Penn State just really needs to win one game, right?
- 7:50Speaker 5: They just got to win the championship at the end
- 7:53Speaker 5: because they've got such an easy schedule throughout the whole season.
- 7:56Speaker 5: So they'll be up there throughout the season. I'm going
- 7:59Speaker 5: to go with Indiana. I think they are getting– I mean,
- 8:03Speaker 5: it's Indiana. They're the return of the national champion. Again,
- 8:06Speaker 5: if they had Alabama across their jersey, they'd be ranked
- 8:09Speaker 5: number one in the country this year. Josh Hoover, I
- 8:12Speaker 5: think he's got big shoes to fill, but he has
- 8:14Speaker 5: better stats coming into Indiana than Fernando Mendoza did when
- 8:19Speaker 5: he came to Indiana. So I've got to trust their system.
- 8:21Speaker 5: I trust their coaches. That coach has proven to be
- 8:25Speaker 5: the number one coach in college football right now. Yeah.
- 8:29Speaker 2: Right now.
- 8:29Speaker 5: As of right now, he is. So I'm going to
- 8:31Speaker 5: trust that. I know Ohio State is crazy talented. They're
- 8:34Speaker 5: plus 180. They're the favorites for a reason going into
- 8:37Speaker 5: a season because of the roster. I think Indiana gets
- 8:39Speaker 5: it done.
- 8:40Speaker 2: All right. I like that. Alondra?
- 8:43Speaker 7: I think that's a good pick. I'm going to go
- 8:45Speaker 7: with Ohio State, though.
- 8:47Speaker 6: I think that Julian Sane is going to do great again.
- 8:51Speaker 6: And I know that they won their– Indiana won their
- 8:55Speaker 6: first– conference championship last season, but I don't think they
- 8:58Speaker 6: go back-to-back.
- 8:58Speaker 7: I'm going to go Ohio State.
- 9:00Speaker 2: All right.
- 9:01Speaker 8: I'll stick with that as well. Julian Sayed, my favorite
- 9:03Speaker 8: quarterback in the country. Like, look, you don't want to
- 9:06Speaker 8: throw out Heisman predictions. I'll give you mine right now.
- 9:07Speaker 8: I think Julian Sayed wins the Heisman trophy. I like
- 9:11Speaker 8: him that much. I think Kyle Parker is a big
- 9:14Speaker 8: addition to an offense that already has Ennis, that already
- 9:17Speaker 8: has Jeremiah Smith. I hated losing Kyle Parker in the portal.
- 9:20Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 9:20Speaker 8: You have Jackson running the ball once again. They're going
- 9:23Speaker 8: to be right back to where they need to be.
- 9:24Speaker 8: I think Ohio State's really, really good.
- 9:26Speaker 5: All right.
- 9:28Speaker 2: I'm going to go with the Oregon Ducks. Okay.
- 9:30Speaker 5: You're going to get it done with Dylan Raiola.
- 9:32Speaker 2: I like the– well, Dante Moore is their– Just transferred there,
- 9:35Speaker 2: did you realize?
- 9:36Speaker 7: He just did.
- 9:36Speaker 2: Breaking. Dante is actually their starting quarterback. Not a bad
- 9:39Speaker 2: backup to have, Dylan Raiola, all the snaps that he's had.
- 9:43Speaker 2: But I think Oregon's been so close. They've been there,
- 9:47Speaker 2: and I get it. They haven't finished it, and a
- 9:49Speaker 2: lot of people are like, will they ever finish it?
- 9:51Speaker 2: Will they be the Buffalo Bills of the early 1990s
- 9:53Speaker 2: where they go to four straight Super Bowls but don't
- 9:55Speaker 2: win a Super Bowl? Is that who they are? I
- 9:58Speaker 2: get it. I understand it. But I love Dan Lanning.
- 10:01Speaker 2: I think he coaches it the right way. It's a
- 10:03Speaker 2: great blend of old school and new school. I think
- 10:06Speaker 2: they've got the roster. They have so much coming back
- 10:09Speaker 2: on that team. You made a couple of portal additions
- 10:12Speaker 2: on the defensive side of the football. The offense, every
- 10:14Speaker 2: player on offense that's going to be a starter was
- 10:18Speaker 2: there a year ago. That continuity doesn't happen anymore in
- 10:21Speaker 2: college football. So, for me, that goes a very long way.
- 10:23Speaker 2: I think the Oregon Ducks get it done in the
- 10:26Speaker 2: Big Ten.
- 10:26Speaker 5: Okay. Quack, quack. Quack, quack, quack. Mr.
- 10:29Speaker 2: Ducksworth.
- 10:29Speaker 5: Quack, quack, quack. It's exciting. I think it's going to
- 10:37Speaker 5: be a three-team race. It's going to be good. It's
- 10:40Speaker 5: going to be a good one.
- 10:41Speaker 2: I love the fact that in the Big Ten and
- 10:44Speaker 2: also in the SEC, we don't really know. The odds
- 10:49Speaker 2: are very close for a lot of teams. There's a
- 10:52Speaker 2: cluster of really good football teams in both those conferences,
- 10:56Speaker 2: and there's not like, oh, well, after this team, then
- 10:58Speaker 2: we start the conversation.
- 10:59Speaker 5: From a preseason standpoint, Big Ten more top-heavy. Yes. SEC,
- 11:03Speaker 5: way more depth from top to bottom. I agree with that.
- 11:07Speaker 5: I mean, hell, you got Lenore Sells is going to
- 11:09Speaker 5: throw 22 touchdowns this year. They're not even an afterthought
- 11:14Speaker 5: right now. Big 10. More top-heavy, though. But I think
- 11:19Speaker 5: it's going to be a three-man race. Penn State's going
- 11:21Speaker 5: to be in the conversation. They are going to get
- 11:22Speaker 5: overhyped halfway through the season. 100%.
- 11:25Speaker 8: Penn State's got a shot to make the playoff. I
- 11:28Speaker 8: think they will, just because of their schedule.
- 11:30Speaker 5: Their schedule's so trash.
- 11:31Speaker 8: They avoid Oregon, Ohio State, and Indiana this year. They
- 11:33Speaker 8: don't play any of them.
- 11:34Speaker 5: At least they're in a conference, though.
- 11:37Speaker 2: Fair enough. They got my respect.
- 11:40Speaker 5: They got my respect. They just lucked out. I know
- 11:42Speaker 5: that's what teams really go for. They just got lucky.
- 11:45Speaker 5: That's their goals.
- 11:46Speaker 7: The Madeline Respect Award.
- 11:47Speaker 5: Madeline Respect.
- 11:48Speaker 2: All right, we will step away, and when we come back,
- 11:50Speaker 2: we'll give you the winner of the Big 12 and
- 11:52Speaker 2: also the SEC. We'll talk Heisman, national champion. We are
- 11:57Speaker 2: bowl prediction slash conference prediction Thursday here on OTB.
- 12:02Speaker 7: Off the bench.
- 12:03Speaker 2: All right, go to centralplumbing.org. Centralplumbing.org, your one-stop plumbing shop
- 12:07Speaker 2: in Baton Rouge, in the entire greater Baton Rouge area,
- 12:10Speaker 2: but now also in Lafayette. that's right they are expanding
- 12:14Speaker 2: they are growing they're now in lafayette so if you
- 12:17Speaker 2: have an issue 24 7 365 weekend game day holiday
- 12:20Speaker 2: does not matter they'll be there for you plumbing issue
- 12:25Speaker 2: happens seven o'clock on saturday it's not ideal we know
- 12:29Speaker 2: that but you know what you can go to another
- 12:31Speaker 2: room and central palmy's gonna come fix the issue even
- 12:34Speaker 2: though it's game day yeah even though boot met.
- 12:37Speaker 5: Like what if like as soon as that boot meets
- 12:39Speaker 5: the ball for the first time, and then all of
- 12:41Speaker 5: a sudden a leak happens. Well, guess what?
- 12:44Speaker 2: They'll be there.
- 12:44Speaker 5: You're going to be like, gosh darn it, there's nobody
- 12:47Speaker 5: to call. Wait a minute. I heard on OTB you
- 12:49Speaker 5: could call Central Plumbing or go to centralplumbing.org because they
- 12:52Speaker 5: got 24-7 emergency service. What peace of mind that is
- 12:55Speaker 5: to know commercially, residentially, if anything happens with water lines,
- 12:59Speaker 5: gas lines, leaks, anything like that, they are there to
- 13:01Speaker 5: solve that problem. Centralplumbing.org.
- 13:22Speaker 7: Something told me it.
- 13:27Speaker 5: Was over when I saw.
- 13:37Speaker 7: You and her talking.
- 13:38Speaker 1: 2007 champs, purple and gold to the core. This is
- 13:42Speaker 1: Off the Bench with Hester and Flynn, Baton Rouge's go-to
- 13:45Speaker 1: for all things Louisiana sports.
- 13:49Speaker 4: I saw you and that girl walking down. I would rather,
- 13:59Speaker 4: I would rather go blind, boy.
- 14:02Speaker 2: Tell them about it. Than to see you walk away
- 14:08Speaker 2: from me, child.
- 14:10Speaker 5: Told you. Always. Pops up.
- 14:15Speaker 7: What, your poncho ad?
- 14:16Speaker 5: No. Every month. Mike Myers, Kanye.
- 14:20Speaker 2: Just popped up in my feed. That's weird.
- 14:23Speaker 8: Always.
- 14:24Speaker 6: Guys, Kanye announced three more shows. I think I'm going
- 14:27Speaker 6: to take a trip to Houston. It's on a bye week.
- 14:29Speaker 2: There you go.
- 14:31Speaker 5: George W. going?
- 14:32Speaker 2: We said pops in and out.
- 14:35Speaker 5: Oh, God. I doubt it. No, he's not going to
- 14:37Speaker 5: make it.
- 14:38Speaker 7: He ain't making it. I don't think George W. is
- 14:42Speaker 7: making the trip to Houston.
- 14:45Speaker 5: That was a good song, by the way. Great song.
- 14:48Speaker 7: I love this one.
- 14:51Speaker 4: We should play this.
- 14:58Speaker 5: In the stadium.
- 15:00Speaker 7: Yes.
- 15:00Speaker 5: After we go surfing.
- 15:02Speaker 2: We can.
- 15:06Speaker 7: Surf to this. Have y'all heard Beyonce's cover of this?
- 15:16Speaker 7: From Cadillac Records?
- 15:17Speaker 5: I have, yeah.
- 15:18Speaker 7: It's so good.
- 15:24Speaker 2: Good pull there. All right, let's go to the Big
- 15:27Speaker 2: 12 Conference Champion. Best odds, the Texas Tech Red Raiders,
- 15:32Speaker 2: minus 115. Interesting. BYU, plus 550. The Utah Utes, plus 750.
- 15:38Speaker 2: The Kansas State Wildcats, plus 1,400. The Houston Cougars, plus 1,550.
- 15:46Speaker 5: It's got to be BYU, right?
- 15:48Speaker 7: I meant to say, I said Utah earlier. I meant
- 15:50Speaker 7: to say BYU. I got the Mormon schools confused. And
- 15:53Speaker 7: they're both blue, right? No, Utah's red. Utah State's blue.
- 15:55Speaker 7: That was just me being stupid. That's what, yeah.
- 15:57Speaker 2: Utah State's blue, yeah.
- 15:58Speaker 7: So Kalani Satake, I'm a fan of. I like Kalani.
- 16:03Speaker 7: So I'm going to go BYU.
- 16:05Speaker 5: Okay. He did stiff arm Penn State this year, right?
- 16:07Speaker 5: In the offseason?
- 16:08Speaker 7: I think it was him.
- 16:09Speaker 5: Was it him?
- 16:10Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:10Speaker 5: He was like the first one that was big rumored. Yeah.
- 16:13Speaker 2: Oh, yes.
- 16:14Speaker 5: They wanted him. He was like the number one guy.
- 16:17Speaker 5: I'm going to stick right here.
- 16:19Speaker 7: I got my Mormons.
- 16:22Speaker 5: I'm going to go guns up. Okay. I'm going to
- 16:26Speaker 5: go with the favor. I'm going to go tech.
- 16:27Speaker 7: So is my bold prediction not bold then?
- 16:30Speaker 5: You said they'd win a playoff game.
- 16:31Speaker 2: Okay.
- 16:31Speaker 5: I mean, it's fairly bold.
- 16:32Speaker 2: Winning the Big 12 and winning a playoff game.
- 16:34Speaker 5: It's not not bold.
- 16:35Speaker 8: It's BYU for me. I think Satake's awesome. Bear Bachmeier,
- 16:39Speaker 8: not only a great name, but how about this? Bear, Tiger,
- 16:42Speaker 8: and Buck, three brothers.
- 16:44Speaker 5: All Bachmeiers. Those aren't linebacker positions? They are in some places.
- 16:49Speaker 2: Why are you the way you are?
- 16:51Speaker 7: Tiger and Buck.
- 16:52Speaker 5: Bear, Tiger, and Buck. Tiger's also on the team, right?
- 16:54Speaker 5: Those are great names. Tiger's on the team right now.
- 16:56Speaker 7: Those are fun.
- 16:57Speaker 5: The fourth son, clearly the parents hate him. His name's Hank.
- 17:00Speaker 5: I mean, you know, whatever.
- 17:01Speaker 7: I mean, Hank's fine.
- 17:02Speaker 5: Hank's fine.
- 17:03Speaker 7: Not when your brothers are named Buck, Tiger, and Bear.
- 17:06Speaker 5: Hank's a great name if your other siblings are also.
- 17:11Speaker 5: Only boy.
- 17:12Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 17:12Speaker 5: Right?
- 17:13Speaker 8: It's Bear, Tiger, Buck, and Hank. So you can tell
- 17:17Speaker 8: me which one they like the least. Not going to
- 17:19Speaker 8: throw any names out there, but Hank, obviously. But Bear Bachmeier,
- 17:23Speaker 8: actually pretty good last year down the stretch. I know
- 17:25Speaker 8: he's a young guy, but he's back for another year.
- 17:28Speaker 8: Satake's awesome. I think BYU.
- 17:33Speaker 5: Hank holds a special place in my heart because I
- 17:35Speaker 5: used to read a lot of Hank the Cowdog books
- 17:37Speaker 5: back in grade school. I got a lot of my
- 17:40Speaker 5: accelerated reading points.
- 17:43Speaker 2: The only Hank I recognize is Hank Hill.
- 17:47Speaker 5: Damn it, Bobby.
- 17:48Speaker 2: Damn it, Bobby. I sell propane and propane accessories.
- 17:50Speaker 7: The only one I acknowledge is Williams Jr.
- 17:53Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 17:55Speaker 2: I've been disappointed by him a couple times.
- 17:56Speaker 7: Senior whatever.
- 17:57Speaker 2: He's supposed to show up to a concert and little
- 18:00Speaker 2: Hank Jr. doesn't quite make it.
- 18:01Speaker 8: Look, sometimes Jake can get a bit under the weather.
- 18:05Speaker 6: I saw him and it was like incredible. It was
- 18:10Speaker 6: like I was watching a living legend.
- 18:12Speaker 5: Yeah. That's what makes it even more incredible. Like, You
- 18:15Speaker 5: don't know if he's going to show up. That's true. Well,
- 18:17Speaker 5: he does.
- 18:17Speaker 7: It's like Lauryn Hill.
- 18:18Speaker 5: Electric Factory. It's like, hey, who's headlining the show? Hank Jr., supposedly.
- 18:22Speaker 2: We'll see. We'll see if he makes it.
- 18:24Speaker 5: Keep you on your toes.
- 18:25Speaker 2: I'm going to go Texas Tech as well.
- 18:27Speaker 7: Dang.
- 18:29Speaker 6: I don't like that me and Taylor have the same
- 18:31Speaker 6: ones and you and Matt have the same ones.
- 18:33Speaker 5: That means neither of those teams are going to win.
- 18:35Speaker 7: So it's going to be Utah.
- 18:37Speaker 2: I also want to throw in a bold prediction.
- 18:39Speaker 1: Oh.
- 18:40Speaker 2: The Houston Cougars win the Big 12. Oh.
- 18:43Speaker 1: Okay.
- 18:44Speaker 5: All right.
- 18:44Speaker 7: Oh, what's his name?
- 18:45Speaker 5: Very hydrated.
- 18:46Speaker 7: Connor.
- 18:47Speaker 2: Willie Fritz.
- 18:48Speaker 7: Is he still there?
- 18:49Speaker 5: Yeah, Connor Wegman's our quarterback.
- 18:51Speaker 2: We like Connor a lot.
- 18:53Speaker 7: I do like Willie Fritz's voice.
- 18:55Speaker 5: I love Connor Wegman. He's still playing?
- 18:58Speaker 2: I know.
- 18:58Speaker 7: I'm confused about that one.
- 18:59Speaker 2: Willie Fritz is still coaching.
- 19:00Speaker 5: He played for Jimbo.
- 19:01Speaker 2: He did.
- 19:01Speaker 7: He did.
- 19:03Speaker 2: I can't do that. I don't know how Willie does that.
- 19:04Speaker 7: That's just how it permanently is.
- 19:06Speaker 2: I know. Good God.
- 19:08Speaker 5: He's got the coach voice.
- 19:10Speaker 2: It's just.
- 19:10Speaker 5: Perpetually lost his voice.
- 19:12Speaker 2: Yes, because he's yelling at someone. Gotta love him.
- 19:15Speaker 5: Yeah, Wegman's back.
- 19:16Speaker 2: He's back. No, he's there.
- 19:17Speaker 6: It's just I was confused because I feel like he's
- 19:19Speaker 6: been there forever.
- 19:20Speaker 2: He has. He's been, but it doesn't matter. Yeah, sure.
- 19:24Speaker 2: Everybody can play as long as you want.
- 19:25Speaker 5: Yeah, whatever.
- 19:25Speaker 3: Who cares?
- 19:26Speaker 2: All right, before we get to the SEC, I want
- 19:28Speaker 2: to remind you about our friends over at Bayou Automotive. BayouAutomotive.com
- 19:31Speaker 2: is the website for Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram. They
- 19:33Speaker 2: got a little bit of everything down there. All them things.
- 19:36Speaker 2: Down in Laplace, Louisiana. A short drive. Go see them.
- 19:39Speaker 2: Or if you can't make it, you can buy your
- 19:41Speaker 2: vehicle on Bayou Automotive. They'll deliver that vehicle to you.
- 19:44Speaker 2: An incredible service that they have over at Bayou Automotive.
- 19:46Speaker 2: Check out the Black Widow packages on Rams, on Jeeps,
- 19:49Speaker 2: on Fords. They got a little bit of everything in
- 19:51Speaker 2: the Black Widows as well. So many options. They're there
- 19:54Speaker 2: for you. BayouAutomotive.com, BayouAutomotive.com. Let's go to the Southeastern Conference.
- 20:02Speaker 2: Right now in Vegas, here's the odds. Georgia plus 260.
- 20:06Speaker 2: Texas plus 320. LSU plus 850. Alabama plus 900. Oklahoma
- 20:13Speaker 2: plus 950. And the Ole Miss Rebels plus 1150. Okay.
- 20:18Speaker 7: My winner might also be a bold prediction. I think
- 20:21Speaker 7: Oklahoma wins.
- 20:22Speaker 5: The SEC championship.
- 20:24Speaker 2: Ooh, I like how that. Me likey.
- 20:28Speaker 7: Me think so.
- 20:29Speaker 5: Me thinks.
- 20:30Speaker 2: Me thinks. I like the bold prediction part of that.
- 20:32Speaker 1: Oh, you.
- 20:35Speaker 5: I wish I could play the song, but I'm going
- 20:39Speaker 5: to sing it.
- 20:39Speaker 7: You should have told me what it was.
- 20:43Speaker 4: Oklahoma.
- 20:45Speaker 5: Oklahoma's going to win it. All right.
- 20:49Speaker 9: I'll go.
- 20:50Speaker 2: Look at us.
- 20:50Speaker 5: I'm going to piggyback that. And I know we're going
- 20:54Speaker 5: to do the segment as well. John Mateer is going
- 20:56Speaker 5: to win the Heisman.
- 20:56Speaker 2: Okay.
- 20:58Speaker 8: I'll go on the other side of the Red River shootout.
- 21:01Speaker 8: I'll take the Texas Longhorns to win the SEC.
- 21:03Speaker 5: Yeah, we finished in the top 20. That was your
- 21:06Speaker 5: bullet prediction. This guy.
- 21:09Speaker 2: And it's facts.
- 21:10Speaker 8: I'll take Texas to win it. Although Georgia's sneaky, man.
- 21:14Speaker 8: Gunner stock that just continues to be underrated.
- 21:16Speaker 7: Can we still call Georgia sneaky, though?
- 21:18Speaker 2: No, for sure.
- 21:20Speaker 5: I just feel like people kind of forget about it.
- 21:22Speaker 2: They're the favorite, actually.
- 21:22Speaker 5: They're the favorite.
- 21:24Speaker 7: No, I get what you're saying.
- 21:25Speaker 2: I don't think it's forgotten. I hear you. It's quiet.
- 21:28Speaker 2: I think it's because we just expect.
- 21:30Speaker 9: Right.
- 21:30Speaker 5: It's expected now. It's not fun to predict them.
- 21:35Speaker 2: I was going to go UGA, and I said, you
- 21:36Speaker 2: know what? That's not very fun.
- 21:38Speaker 5: It's not fun.
- 21:39Speaker 2: I love fun. And I'm not in a good mood today,
- 21:41Speaker 2: so I want to choose violence. I can't say that
- 21:43Speaker 2: and not be about it. LSU is going to win
- 21:45Speaker 2: the SEC.
- 21:45Speaker 5: There we go. Hell yeah.
- 21:48Speaker 2: And you can say it's a homer pick. I did
- 21:49Speaker 2: not pick LSU last year or the year before to
- 21:51Speaker 2: win the SEC. This is the first time I've done
- 21:53Speaker 2: this since we've been doing predictions on OTB, and I'm
- 21:56Speaker 2: going the LSU Fighting Tigers.
- 21:58Speaker 9: Hell yeah.
- 21:58Speaker 2: Is the schedule hard?
- 22:00Speaker 5: It is.
- 22:00Speaker 2: Does it matter? It doesn't. It's going to be hard
- 22:02Speaker 2: for everybody, all right? You're going to see on Saturday
- 22:06Speaker 2: what LSU is all about.
- 22:07Speaker 7: Hashtag stay hard.
- 22:09Speaker 5: Hashtag stay hard.
- 22:10Speaker 2: Making a movement.
- 22:11Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 22:12Speaker 7: I want everybody to stay hard.
- 22:14Speaker 2: Here we go. Give me the LSU Tigers. Why not?
- 22:17Speaker 2: They get the third best odds. They play Texas at home.
- 22:21Speaker 2: They don't play Georgia. Massive home games this year. Almost
- 22:26Speaker 2: every game that you have that is like a contender
- 22:29Speaker 2: is at home outside of Ole Miss. Texas A & M,
- 22:33Speaker 2: you can fool me twice. You're not going to give
- 22:34Speaker 2: me three times. Hell no. Ain't going to happen.
- 22:36Speaker 5: Ain't going to do it.
- 22:37Speaker 2: LSU's not going undefeated. Also. But nobody in the SEC,
- 22:42Speaker 2: I don't think, is going to go undefeated. I don't
- 22:44Speaker 2: think it's going to happen. The league's too good. The
- 22:46Speaker 2: league's too deep. They'll lose a game, but they'll win
- 22:48Speaker 2: the SEC.
- 22:52Speaker 5: Let's go Tigers. I love it.
- 22:53Speaker 6: Let's go.
- 22:55Speaker 7: Stay hard.
- 22:56Speaker 5: Stay hard.
- 22:59Speaker 2: Okay.
- 23:01Speaker 5: So, Taylor is Georgia. No, I'm Texas. Texas, I'm sorry.
- 23:06Speaker 5: Wander and myself, OU. Jake, LSU. I will say, don't
- 23:14Speaker 5: think I'm not a homer.
- 23:15Speaker 7: Okay.
- 23:15Speaker 5: Because just wait until the national championship pick.
- 23:17Speaker 2: Right.
- 23:18Speaker 1: Okay.
- 23:19Speaker 2: Just wait. Just wait, everybody.
- 23:21Speaker 5: Relax. Oh, let's go Heisman. Heisman. John Mateer for me
- 23:24Speaker 5: wins Heisman.
- 23:25Speaker 2: Okay.
- 23:26Speaker 5: And I don't know what his odds are. I forgot
- 23:28Speaker 5: to look that up. Let's see.
- 23:30Speaker 2: I'm looking for you right now.
- 23:31Speaker 5: I got it. I think I can pull it up.
- 23:33Speaker 2: Let's see. CJ Carr's got the best odds, plus 700.
- 23:36Speaker 2: Arch Manning, plus 750. Dante Moore, plus 1,100. Darian Minta,
- 23:41Speaker 2: plus 1,100. I don't get how CJ Carr's.
- 23:44Speaker 5: Leading the way, but whatever. If you're looking to bet,
- 23:49Speaker 5: one's to look at.
- 23:49Speaker 7: I like the John Mateer one.
- 23:51Speaker 5: Josh Hoover, in the same system as the Heisman winner
- 23:55Speaker 5: a year ago, is plus 1,500. If you're looking to sprinkle.
- 24:00Speaker 7: I think I'm going to sprinkle some on John Mateer.
- 24:02Speaker 5: Yeah, John Mateer plus 2,500. Sorry, Taylor, I didn't mean
- 24:05Speaker 5: to interrupt you there.
- 24:07Speaker 1: What?
- 24:08Speaker 5: Julian Sands plus 1,200. That's what I'm taking. Okay, yeah. So, Taylor,
- 24:16Speaker 5: your prediction for the Heisman, Julian Sands. Yep. Alondra?
- 24:20Speaker 7: I don't know.
- 24:22Speaker 5: Okay.
- 24:23Speaker 2: I'm technically not allowed.
- 24:25Speaker 5: Oh, that's right. I'm sorry.
- 24:28Speaker 2: I did like, a bowl prediction could be at this point.
- 24:31Speaker 5: I do think that Trinidad is the best quarterback in
- 24:33Speaker 5: the country going into the season. I think the changes
- 24:38Speaker 5: to their offensive staff are going to be too much
- 24:42Speaker 5: for the team to overcome throughout the duration of the season.
- 24:45Speaker 5: And we know that, for the most part, the Heisman,
- 24:49Speaker 5: team success helps the Heisman. So I think the team
- 24:53Speaker 5: success for Oklahoma is going to be very good this year.
- 24:55Speaker 5: I think they're going to be... I don't know if
- 24:57Speaker 5: it's sneaky good. I think they're just going to be
- 24:59Speaker 5: a very well-coached, very good football team. And I think
- 25:04Speaker 5: their quarterback, who was in the Heisman Talks last year
- 25:07Speaker 5: with not a very good offense until he had surgery
- 25:10Speaker 5: on his thumb and played the same week that he
- 25:12Speaker 5: had surgery on his throwing hand thumb. Think about it.
- 25:17Speaker 5: This year he's going to stay healthy, and I think
- 25:19Speaker 5: that they make a run in it. All right. And
- 25:21Speaker 5: I think their team is better than Ole Miss.
- 25:23Speaker 2: So, yeah.
- 25:25Speaker 5: But I do think Trinidad is, going into the season,
- 25:28Speaker 5: number one quarterback in college football. I mean, he's 30.
- 25:35Speaker 5: Am I right?
- 25:35Speaker 7: I don't know. I'll go Arch.
- 25:41Speaker 2: Did you say?
- 25:42Speaker 5: Yeah, Julian, say in.
- 25:43Speaker 2: Say in.
- 25:45Speaker 5: Arch.
- 25:46Speaker 2: Trinidad.
- 25:47Speaker 5: No.
- 25:48Speaker 7: John. Mateer.
- 25:49Speaker 2: Sorry, you started talking about Trinidad. John Mateer.
- 25:54Speaker 7: He was a favorite before the thumb, so.
- 25:56Speaker 2: I'm not picking, but don't forget about Dante Moore. Just
- 26:02Speaker 2: a heads up. Don't forget about that guy.
- 26:04Speaker 7: Don't forget about Dante.
- 26:05Speaker 2: Don't forget about Dante Moore. All right, we'll take a break.
- 26:07Speaker 2: We've got Chef Michael Johnson to answer your munchie questions
- 26:11Speaker 2: when we come back here on OTB.
- 26:14Speaker 1: Off the bench.
- 26:16Speaker 2: Hey, Matthew. What's up? They got a pretty good deal
- 26:18Speaker 2: over at Bowie going on.
- 26:20Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 26:21Speaker 2: Coming up here in a couple days. Yeah, they do.
- 26:23Speaker 5: They got a great deal going on.
- 26:25Speaker 2: I believe there's some tax-free situation that we've talked about.
- 26:28Speaker 2: You can buy firearms, anything in the store, tax-free. Yeah,
- 26:37Speaker 2: that's going on. But there is a deadline coming up here, Matthew.
- 26:40Speaker 2: So we know it is coming up here the 4th,
- 26:42Speaker 2: the 5th, the 6th, but today is an important day.
- 26:45Speaker 2: Why is it an important day, Matthew?
- 26:47Speaker 5: Because it's tax-free. And today is like that last day
- 26:53Speaker 5: that and go get all those layaway items.
- 26:56Speaker 2: Yeah, we talked about it because right now, like, you
- 27:00Speaker 2: don't have to wait on the day. You can go in.
- 27:02Speaker 2: Why is that glitching? Everything's glitching. Who knows? You can
- 27:05Speaker 2: go in today and you can put it on layaway.
- 27:07Speaker 2: You can skip. Well, when we say layaway, you can
- 27:09Speaker 2: skip the lines. Come in now. Put any firearm, suppressor,
- 27:12Speaker 2: or boat on hold for tax-free. That ends today. Go
- 27:15Speaker 2: to Bowie. See him today. Big sell.
- 27:19Speaker 1: From the locker room to the airwaves, it's Off the
- 27:21Speaker 1: Bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 27:28Speaker 3: All right, welcome.
- 27:44Speaker 2: Back in OTB. Going to get some munchies, but real quick,
- 27:46Speaker 2: let me tell you about Tommy. Go Tommy! Go Tommy's, G-E-A-U-X,
- 27:51Speaker 2: Tommy's with a Y.com. Tommy's Windows, Doors, Siding. Award-winning every

- 27:58Speaker 2: in the Baton Rouge Advocate this year. That went to
- 28:00Speaker 2: Tommy's Window Stores and also Siding. Go to gotommys.com to
- 28:04Speaker 2: schedule your appointment today. G-E-A-U-X. Tommy's with a Y. gotommys.com. Well,
- 28:12Speaker 2: you play Sam Cooke. You have a chef on the
- 28:16Speaker 2: show who also cooks. And that's Chef Michael Johnson who
- 28:19Speaker 2: joins us now. Chef, what's going on, brother? How we doing?
- 28:22Speaker 9: Man, I'm good. I love that song. Great song.
- 28:26Speaker 5: Boy, I can see just like cooking in the kitchen
- 28:28Speaker 5: with this song. Drinking some wine.
- 28:31Speaker 9: That's right.
- 28:32Speaker 5: Putting a little TLC into that meal.
- 28:34Speaker 9: That's dinner music is what we call.
- 28:38Speaker 1: It.
- 28:38Speaker 2: That's right. Chef, how are we feeling real quick before
- 28:43Speaker 2: we get into munchies? How are we feeling? Game week,
- 28:45Speaker 2: it's here. You've been working hard to get to this point.
- 28:48Speaker 2: How are we feeling?
- 28:49Speaker 9: Big week, man. It's a big week and lots of
- 28:52Speaker 9: eyes on it. We're energetic, got a little rest. It
- 28:59Speaker 9: doesn't slow down, brother. It's six days a week now
- 29:01Speaker 9: for the next six months or five, six months, something
- 29:05Speaker 9: like that. You got to get your rest when you
- 29:07Speaker 9: can and push. That's where I am right now. I'm
- 29:12Speaker 9: excited for this game. I'm excited to be a part
- 29:14Speaker 9: of it. I'm excited for the recruiting process because that
- 29:16Speaker 9: picks up this time of year. So, yeah, just a
- 29:19Speaker 9: good place to be.
- 29:21Speaker 2: All right, hashtag munchies. What is going to be on
- 29:23Speaker 2: the menu for the day before the game? So I
- 29:26Speaker 2: guess maybe after walkthrough tomorrow?
- 29:28Speaker 9: Yeah, so pregame meal is kind of the same wherever
- 29:31Speaker 9: we go. It's meant to have consistency, right? And it's
- 29:33Speaker 9: meant to have, clean carbs, complex carbohydrates, some simple carbohydrates,
- 29:39Speaker 9: clean lean proteins, right? So the meal looks the same
- 29:42Speaker 9: every time, and I don't really share what exactly is
- 29:44Speaker 9: on the meal. It's not protect or anything, but you know,
- 29:47Speaker 9: like it, it, it's not that complicated, you know, it's,
- 29:50Speaker 9: it's pasta and clean steaks and chicken breasts and stuff
- 29:53Speaker 9: like that. So it's not anything that people are like,
- 29:56Speaker 9: Oh my gosh, that they're serving lobster tail for, it's
- 30:01Speaker 9: not bougie. You know what I mean?
- 30:02Speaker 5: It's purposeful.
- 30:03Speaker 9: Yeah. Yeah.
- 30:05Speaker 5: Jeff. So there, when, when, when game, the game star,
- 30:08Speaker 5: when the season starts, there were certain teams that I
- 30:10Speaker 5: was on throughout my career that like, if you won,
- 30:13Speaker 5: you got a little special something on that meal that
- 30:16Speaker 5: for that, that day back when you reviewed the film. Now,
- 30:19Speaker 5: if you lost, you just got like the standard stuff.
- 30:21Speaker 5: Do y'all do anything like that?
- 30:24Speaker 9: Uh, we, we haven't, we have not. Yeah. Um, you know,
- 30:26Speaker 9: like in the spring game, we've done that. And, and, and, uh, uh,
- 30:30Speaker 9: when coach K was here, we would, we would have
- 30:33Speaker 9: what we call victory meal or unvictory meal because we
- 30:38Speaker 9: kind of undone the, we kind of undid the victory
- 30:40Speaker 9: a little bit, pulled the, pulled the high dollar proteins out. But,
- 30:44Speaker 9: It varies coach to coach, and we're not doing that
- 30:46Speaker 9: currently right now. Right now it's really focused on fueling
- 30:49Speaker 9: and recovery. And so I think it's just a more,
- 30:53Speaker 9: you know, practical approach to the human body.
- 30:57Speaker 2: Hashtag munchies. Best whole venison backstrap recipe cooking style for
- 31:03Speaker 2: game day?
- 31:04Speaker 9: Yeah, you know, like I like backstrap in the woods
- 31:07Speaker 9: the best, to be honest. You know, like around a
- 31:09Speaker 9: fire on the fire and out of a fryer. Backstrap,
- 31:13Speaker 9: I think, just desires to be fried, and that's the
- 31:15Speaker 9: way I like it. So if you have a portable fryer,
- 31:18Speaker 9: I think that's good. And, you know, as I think
- 31:21Speaker 9: about it, like I've put a backstrap, fried backstrap onto
- 31:26Speaker 9: a po' boy before, and it's tender enough to eat
- 31:29Speaker 9: on a po' boy sandwich with some pickles and lettuce
- 31:31Speaker 9: and tomatoes. Yeah, that sounds pretty good right now.
- 31:35Speaker 2: Yeah, it does.
- 31:36Speaker 5: All right, here's a good one, a little conspiracy theory.
- 31:39Speaker 5: Hashtag munchies. There's an online conspiracy that Guy Fieri doesn't
- 31:43Speaker 5: swallow his bites on diners, drive-ins, and dives. The camera
- 31:47Speaker 5: always cuts away.
- 31:48Speaker 9: Yeah, I believe that. As much food as he tries
- 31:51Speaker 9: and eats, I have to do the same thing sometimes
- 31:54Speaker 9: to get a feel for what the food tastes like
- 31:56Speaker 9: and move on. Because if I didn't, I would be
- 31:59Speaker 9: 300 pounds. And so even though I burn a lot
- 32:03Speaker 9: of calories, there's a need to... and move on. It's
- 32:06Speaker 9: kind of like the spit glass and the wine tasting,
- 32:09Speaker 9: if you will.
- 32:11Speaker 5: Spittoon right there. Yep.
- 32:14Speaker 2: Chef, they're wanting to know the pregame meal for Saturday,
- 32:16Speaker 2: but not for the team. I think they want to
- 32:18Speaker 2: know what is Chef's pregame meal on Saturday. Do you
- 32:21Speaker 2: have a routine? Is it different? Is it what you're feeling?
- 32:23Speaker 2: Or do you try to say, hey, on game days,
- 32:26Speaker 2: this is what I eat?
- 32:28Speaker 9: I eat what the team eats because I need to
- 32:30Speaker 9: know that they're eating properly and that it's of quality. So, yeah,
- 32:32Speaker 9: I eat the same thing the team eats.
- 32:35Speaker 5: Chef, so on game day, we know that the game
- 32:38Speaker 5: day meal is usually on location, wherever the team is
- 32:42Speaker 5: staying for their hotel. But let's talk about when it's
- 32:45Speaker 5: a home game and you have all the recruits. And,
- 32:47Speaker 5: of course, there's always big recruiting weekends. And it's not
- 32:50Speaker 5: just the recruits. It's recruits. It's their family. Do you
- 32:55Speaker 5: and your staff get the opportunity to cook and host
- 32:58Speaker 5: those recruits and their family?
- 33:01Speaker 9: We have. I've gone to the coach's house and interacted
- 33:04Speaker 9: with the families. The families have been here and we've
- 33:06Speaker 9: interacted with the families. There was one where we had
- 33:10Speaker 9: a family in from overseas and we cooked a meal
- 33:14Speaker 9: around what they would typically have where they're from home.
- 33:17Speaker 9: That one settled very well. It depends on the level
- 33:20Speaker 9: that the coach wants us involved and who the person
- 33:24Speaker 9: is that we're courting. It can be very engaging. It
- 33:29Speaker 9: can be, you know, somewhat less. So it just depends.
- 33:32Speaker 9: Speaking of, listen, guys, I need to cut this short
- 33:34Speaker 9: because I have a very important gentleman waiting for me
- 33:37Speaker 9: right now. Absolutely.
- 33:38Speaker 2: Tell him go Tigers, whoever's waiting on you. Tell him
- 33:40Speaker 2: we said go Tigers.
- 33:42Speaker 5: All right. He's a recruit.
- 33:44Speaker 2: I'm sure he's a recruit.
- 33:45Speaker 5: I think it's Saban.
- 33:47Speaker 9: It was.
- 33:47Speaker 5: Maybe it's Saban.
- 33:49Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 33:49Speaker 5: Maybe it's Elon.
- 33:51Speaker 7: It was absolutely Elon. He wouldn't hang up on us
- 33:55Speaker 7: for anybody but Elon.
- 33:58Speaker 5: Better be.
- 33:59Speaker 2: I hope it actually would be a recruit. Like, that'd
- 34:01Speaker 2: be kind of gangster, too.
- 34:02Speaker 5: I mean, wouldn't it?
- 34:04Speaker 2: Hey, you got to go close. For a high school kid?
- 34:06Speaker 2: Always be closing. Respect the high school player, okay? Because
- 34:10Speaker 2: they don't get as many opportunities anymore, okay?
- 34:12Speaker 5: Especially with all these NFL players.
- 34:16Speaker 2: 17-year veterans. Anyways.
- 34:21Speaker 5: A lot of people in town. A lot of people
- 34:23Speaker 5: in town. So it could be anybody.
- 34:25Speaker 2: It could be.
- 34:25Speaker 5: Could even be Sankey.
- 34:27Speaker 2: He's probably not in town.
- 34:28Speaker 5: Oh, he is in town. He's actually in town. I
- 34:31Speaker 5: think he's got a thing. He's got an appearance today.
- 34:33Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 34:34Speaker 5: Under the court of law. Lane.
- 34:39Speaker 2: Was it Lane or Saban? It could be Saban. I
- 34:42Speaker 2: think if it was coach.
- 34:43Speaker 5: Saban or Elon.
- 34:44Speaker 2: If it was Lane, he would have just been like, hey,
- 34:45Speaker 2: I've got to go coach this year.
- 34:46Speaker 5: Whoever the guest picker is. It was them.
- 34:51Speaker 2: The guest picker.
- 34:52Speaker 5: I'm going Elon.
- 34:55Speaker 2: Uh.
- 34:57Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 34:58Speaker 2: There's so many options.
- 34:59Speaker 5: I don't.
- 35:02Speaker 6: Know.
- 35:02Speaker 2: Flynn must have to be Harry Connick Jr.
- 35:05Speaker 5: I bet he does. I bet he does. Fake Louisiana.
- 35:09Speaker 7: That was more Deb triggered by that.
- 35:11Speaker 5: That was fun.
- 35:11Speaker 2: He did.
- 35:12Speaker 5: That was fun. And I see the point.
- 35:14Speaker 7: I get it.
- 35:15Speaker 5: Absolutely makes a point.
- 35:17Speaker 6: Wait, we can do like two more predictions. I think
- 35:20Speaker 6: if we do them quick, we have time. Unless you
- 35:23Speaker 6: want to break early and do like a long last segment.
- 35:25Speaker 7: It's up to y'all. Those are the two options I'm
- 35:28Speaker 7: giving you, though.
- 35:30Speaker 2: All right, let's break on time. When we come back,
- 35:33Speaker 2: we'll give you a bold prediction, and we'll also answer
- 35:36Speaker 2: your questions right here to close out OTB.
- 35:40Speaker 1: Off the bench.
- 35:41Speaker 2: All right, go to bathfitter.com. There you can schedule your
- 35:45Speaker 2: appointment to have Bath Fitter come out, look at your space,
- 35:48Speaker 2: and when I say they're going to change your space
- 35:50Speaker 2: in a snap, I really mean it. We're not talking
- 35:52Speaker 2: about weeks of construction. We're not talking about a huge mess.
- 35:56Speaker 2: We're not talking about having to change up your daily
- 35:58Speaker 2: routine because they're in your way. We're talking about getting
- 36:01Speaker 2: something brand new and something that you are going to
- 36:03Speaker 2: want to show off a brand new bathroom, right? Shower,
- 36:07Speaker 2: tub combo in as little as one day, one singular day.
- 36:11Speaker 2: They can get that done. Go schedule that appointment today.
- 36:14Speaker 2: Go see our friends at Bath Fitter of Baton Rouge

- 36:17Speaker 5: That's right. Get yourself clean in a brand-new bath, a
- 36:20Speaker 5: brand-new shower. And if you've been putting off updating that
- 36:23Speaker 5: old bathtub or shower because you think it's going to
- 36:25Speaker 5: take too long, maybe it's going to take, like, weeks,
- 36:27Speaker 5: it's going to tear your house apart, maybe it's going
- 36:29Speaker 5: to cost you more than you want to spend, well,
- 36:31Speaker 5: we've got great news for you. Bath Fitter is changing
- 36:33Speaker 5: the ways Louisiana remodels those bathrooms. So if you're ready

- 38:08Speaker 2: All right, one more bold prediction apiece before we get
- 38:11Speaker 2: to Ask the Bench, brought to you by Ice Cold
- 38:14Speaker 2: Dos Equis.
- 38:14Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm going to give one more. I'm going to
- 38:16Speaker 5: stick with college since college starts this week, and I
- 38:18Speaker 5: have more, of course, but I'll save those for next
- 38:21Speaker 5: week there in the NFL. Oh, I got two. Sorry.
- 38:26Speaker 5: No team in the preseason top five coaches or AP
- 38:33Speaker 5: poll will make the national championship game. So no team
- 38:41Speaker 5: that is currently in the preseason top five.
- 38:44Speaker 7: Okay.
- 38:45Speaker 5: Will make the national championship.
- 38:47Speaker 2: Very bold. Oh, nationally. Okay.
- 38:49Speaker 7: Well, yeah, I guess that's kind of.
- 38:50Speaker 5: I mean, I feel like that's bold.
- 38:52Speaker 7: That's bold.
- 38:52Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 38:53Speaker 5: I mean, it's Ohio State, Oregon, Georgia, Notre Dame, Texas.
- 38:57Speaker 2: I mean, yes, bold.
- 38:59Speaker 9: Yep.
- 39:00Speaker 5: Good. Everyone agrees. No votes against. Thumbs up. Yeah, I
- 39:04Speaker 5: don't like it. I'm just kidding. My second one.
- 39:07Speaker 2: Not bold enough.
- 39:07Speaker 5: Bill Belichick and UNC will mutually part ways.
- 39:10Speaker 7: Mutually part ways. Yeah, I like that. It doesn't feel like.
- 39:15Speaker 5: No, I thought about not doing that because they won
- 39:18Speaker 5: this past weekend.
- 39:19Speaker 8: Yeah, but they didn't look good in the process of
- 39:21Speaker 8: doing it.
- 39:21Speaker 7: They're going to mutually part ways.
- 39:24Speaker 5: Yeah, TCU.
- 39:26Speaker 2: Ass.
- 39:26Speaker 5: I mean, you snap the ball over the punter's head
- 39:28Speaker 5: out of the end zone like... TCU probably still could
- 39:31Speaker 5: have won that game and didn't look good.
- 39:32Speaker 7: Well, when you pick them, I was going to be like, well,
- 39:34Speaker 7: they got a new quarterback. They got this. But I
- 39:37Speaker 7: was like, whatever. He knows something.
- 39:39Speaker 1: I don't.
- 39:41Speaker 7: Bold prediction for me. Alabama. Y'all can tell me whatever.
- 39:46Speaker 7: It's fine. We can all decide if this is bold
- 39:48Speaker 7: or not.
- 39:49Speaker 6: Alabama misses the college football playoff and finishes outside the
- 39:52Speaker 6: top eight in the SEC. I'm not sold on Alabama or, like,
- 39:56Speaker 6: Kalen DeBoer replacing Ty Simpson.
- 40:00Speaker 7: Brutal SEC schedule.
- 40:03Speaker 6: I think the name Alabama and Nick Saban is, like,
- 40:06Speaker 6: carrying a lot of weight for an Alabama that is
- 40:08Speaker 6: no more.
- 40:09Speaker 5: Missing the playoff, not bold.
- 40:11Speaker 7: Didn't they make it last season?
- 40:12Speaker 5: Finishing outside the top eight in the SEC is interesting.
- 40:16Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 40:17Speaker 5: I like that. Well, they got a new quarterback. They
- 40:19Speaker 5: got a young quarterback. I think not finishing outside the
- 40:24Speaker 5: top eight is bold.
- 40:25Speaker 1: Okay.
- 40:25Speaker 5: Y'all think that?
- 40:26Speaker 2: Y'all good?
- 40:27Speaker 9: Yes.
- 40:27Speaker 5: They only have three or four. Let's see. They got Georgia, Texas,
- 40:31Speaker 5: A & M, and Oklahoma. They got five teams in
- 40:34Speaker 5: front of them right now.
- 40:36Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 40:40Speaker 6: Don't ask me to name the three that I think
- 40:41Speaker 6: will be better than them right now, but maybe Auburn.
- 40:44Speaker 2: I'm high on Auburn. LSU. LSU.
- 40:47Speaker 5: It's ranked behind them right now. Tennessee ranked behind them
- 40:49Speaker 5: right now. Okay.
- 40:55Speaker 8: NFL for my last one. Jared Goff wins NFL MVP.
- 41:01Speaker 2: That was my last one.
- 41:02Speaker 5: No way. Was it really? Taylor. Sorry, we didn't discuss it.
- 41:07Speaker 5: We didn't discuss it.
- 41:09Speaker 2: I mean, we're not going to change it. It's fine.
- 41:12Speaker 2: We can have the same predictions. He is, let's see, 3, 6, 9, 12, 13th,
- 41:18Speaker 2: 14th in MVP odds. I think that qualifies as bold.
- 41:22Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 41:22Speaker 2: Because I was debating between Jerry Goff and Justin Herbert,
- 41:25Speaker 2: but Justin Herbert's third. That doesn't feel bold enough. I'm
- 41:27Speaker 2: going Jerry Goff.
- 41:28Speaker 5: It's so hard to win the MVP. I saw something yesterday.
- 41:31Speaker 8: Over the past four years, Jerry Goff has averaged 4,500
- 41:35Speaker 8: yards and 32 touchdowns per season.
- 41:37Speaker 2: Most yards, most touchdowns, second highest quarterback rating in the
- 41:42Speaker 2: last three years.
- 41:42Speaker 8: And tied for wins. And a three-way tie for wins
- 41:45Speaker 8: in that stretch as well.
- 41:49Speaker 5: I like it. He's good at football.
- 41:52Speaker 2: Yeah, he is.
- 41:56Speaker 5: That's going to be a hell of a division this year.
- 41:58Speaker 5: I think the Vikings are going to be better than
- 42:00Speaker 5: people are giving them credit for. I think Kyler Murray
- 42:01Speaker 5: is going to be four good quarterbacks in that division.
- 42:04Speaker 5: I mean, you had four teams that had a winning
- 42:06Speaker 5: record last year. Would it be bold to say that
- 42:09Speaker 5: the Vikings won't come in last place? I think the
- 42:12Speaker 5: Packers are going to come in last place. I actually
- 42:13Speaker 5: think the Packers are going to come last place, too.
- 42:16Speaker 2: The Packers right now, their running back room, the three
- 42:18Speaker 2: guys that they have, have a career combined, like 110
- 42:21Speaker 2: carries combined, all three ever.
- 42:24Speaker 5: I guess.
- 42:25Speaker 2: 25 catches.
- 42:26Speaker 5: Marshall Lloyd would kind of be their number one, right?
- 42:27Speaker 2: He is their one.
- 42:28Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 42:29Speaker 2: And he's got like five carries in his career, maybe six.
- 42:32Speaker 2: Right now, the Packers backfield is Marshawn Lloyd, Chris Brooks,
- 42:35Speaker 2: and Caleb Johnson, who they just traded for from the Steelers. Combined,
- 42:40Speaker 2: they don't have like 110, 115, somewhere in that range carries. Total.
- 42:46Speaker 2: Because Josh Jacobs is not going to be with the team.
- 42:49Speaker 2: Not good, Bob. All right, let's get to a little
- 42:54Speaker 2: Ask the Bench brought to you by Ice Cold Dos Equis.
- 43:00Speaker 2: As the bench is Flynn.
- 43:02Speaker 5: That one wasn't bad.
- 43:03Speaker 2: Is Flynn using one of Jake's Paper Mate medium flare pens? No,
- 43:07Speaker 2: he saw that I was using them that one time,
- 43:10Speaker 2: and he enjoyed using them, and so he went and
- 43:12Speaker 2: got his own.
- 43:12Speaker 5: I'd say I've been on them now for at least
- 43:15Speaker 5: eight months.
- 43:15Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 43:15Speaker 5: At least. Maybe since last fall.
- 43:17Speaker 7: Yeah, you've been using them.
- 43:18Speaker 5: And again, I saw the flare tips over there across
- 43:22Speaker 5: the desk from me, and I liked them. Then I
- 43:24Speaker 5: realized I don't believe. That's one of the best things.
- 43:27Speaker 2: It's like a marker that doesn't bleed.
- 43:28Speaker 5: Marker that you can write with.
- 43:29Speaker 7: You usually don't want your tip to bleed.
- 43:31Speaker 5: You don't want it. That's true. That's a really, really
- 43:33Speaker 5: great point. Stay hard.
- 43:36Speaker 7: Hashtag stay hard.
- 43:37Speaker 2: Two sports. Hashtag ask the bench. Is tomorrow divorce dad rock?
- 43:42Speaker 2: It can be.
- 43:45Speaker 7: I'll let it breathe more than usual.
- 43:47Speaker 2: What genre? I want some three doors down. I want
- 43:50Speaker 2: the fray.
- 43:51Speaker 5: I want the calling.
- 43:53Speaker 2: I want maybe even some life house.
- 43:56Speaker 5: I think that's what people call it. Our tour.
- 43:59Speaker 7: What was it called?
- 44:00Speaker 2: Burnt CD tour.
- 44:01Speaker 7: We'll do Burnt CD tour tomorrow.
- 44:03Speaker 2: We would make all the money if we really did that.
- 44:05Speaker 7: Didn't The Calling comment on it?
- 44:06Speaker 2: Yeah, they did. They commented on it. They said they
- 44:08Speaker 2: were in. Like, hey, we're in. All you got to
- 44:13Speaker 2: do is get everybody else together. Casey McKenzie, where you at, bro?
- 44:16Speaker 1: Right.
- 44:17Speaker 2: Get all these bands together. We're going to do it
- 44:19Speaker 2: in the box.
- 44:21Speaker 7: No, we'll do it. What is it? Pete Goldsby?
- 44:24Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 44:27Speaker 2: We're doing it at the box.
- 44:28Speaker 7: We already said it.
- 44:30Speaker 2: I know.
- 44:30Speaker 9: I know.
- 44:31Speaker 2: But I was over there last weekend. We're not doing
- 44:33Speaker 2: it there. Do it at the box.
- 44:35Speaker 9: Hey.
- 44:39Speaker 5: It's 954. All eyes are on the courtroom today, aren't they?
- 44:43Speaker 7: Mine aren't.
- 44:44Speaker 5: Yeah. I don't care.
- 44:46Speaker 2: I read like, just tell me who the roster is.
- 44:48Speaker 2: Tell me who can play, who can't play. Spot the
- 44:50Speaker 2: damn ball and let's go play football.
- 44:51Speaker 7: Spot the damn ball.
- 44:53Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 44:53Speaker 7: Matt hates Spod the Ball.
- 44:55Speaker 2: I know he does.
- 44:56Speaker 5: I like Spod the Ball.
- 44:57Speaker 7: Okay, you're kind of hating on it.
- 44:59Speaker 5: Oh, no, I like Spod the Ball. No, I'm saying sarcastically.
- 45:01Speaker 2: I mean, seriously, we could have spent like 45 minutes
- 45:04Speaker 2: on talking about, hey, here's the argument, here's the argument. But, like,
- 45:07Speaker 2: we know the arguments. We know the players. We know
- 45:08Speaker 2: the situation. Tell me how it ends up.
- 45:11Speaker 7: I'd rather spend time on rock, paper, scissors.
- 45:13Speaker 5: Thank you. Sankey is in town making a court appearance.
- 45:15Speaker 7: Is that who Chef was?
- 45:17Speaker 5: Who's Greg? Who's Greg? Trying to wine and dine him.
- 45:22Speaker 5: What if Game Day does the ultimate troll move and
- 45:24Speaker 5: they make Sankey the guest picker?
- 45:26Speaker 2: That would be awesome.
- 45:28Speaker 5: That would be pretty.
- 45:31Speaker 2: I'm cheering for LSU.
