- 0:00Speaker 1: Oh, Bulls fans, we'd like you to take a look
- 0:07Speaker 1: at the video board for a short film directed by
- 0:12Speaker 1: our own Derrick Rose. And I don't think at the
- 0:17Speaker 1: finish of this little film you're gonna see that any
- 0:20Speaker 1: of us could have said this any better than PJ did.
- 0:25Speaker 1: This is for you, Chicago, roll it.
- 0:31Speaker 2: You want to be good to great? Three starting ed
- 0:38Speaker 2: Gard from Chicago number one, So good to be back.
- 0:44Speaker 3: Home, Roses, knee water and sunlit.
- 0:49Speaker 4: To grow.
- 0:50Speaker 3: This needed a city, A city that believes from inglewood
- 0:59Speaker 3: to lake sure and a quiet kid with a loud drew.
- 1:10Speaker 3: A city that raises you of tough love then lifts
- 1:14Speaker 3: you up in tough times. The city where a family
- 1:22Speaker 3: extends beyond a single tree, planting seeds of hope when
- 1:30Speaker 3: you need it most. See that stays together no matter
- 1:44Speaker 3: how hard the wind blows.
- 1:47Speaker 2: We'll get some loved when you come up in here.
- 1:49Speaker 4: You understand that, now, don't you?
- 1:51Speaker 3: A city whose soil is rich with wisdom and you
- 1:54Speaker 3: see no manners.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Of that more I'm still feeling see no.
- 1:57Speaker 3: Elbowing past down through generations. See that stands as tall
- 2:06Speaker 3: as its skylight. So I us all had to rise
- 2:10Speaker 3: above a Rose can be many colors, but this road
- 2:25Speaker 3: will forever beat.
- 2:29Speaker 4: Chicago M.
- 3:00Speaker 2: I want to thank everybody for coming out tonight. First off,
- 3:03Speaker 2: I want to start off by thanking the boards for
- 3:05Speaker 2: allowing this to go on. I want to thank every
- 3:08Speaker 2: teammate that came here, flew from other places to make time,
- 3:11Speaker 2: all you guys that came here to show love and
- 3:14Speaker 2: support tonight. But I really want to talk to the kids.
- 3:19Speaker 2: So in the beginning of this video, I mentioned to PJ,
- 3:22Speaker 2: do you want to be good or great? And he
- 3:25Speaker 2: don't know, but that's my way of tricking him. So
- 3:30Speaker 2: with me tricking him, I could be very specific and
- 3:33Speaker 2: say do you want to be good in basketball or
- 3:35Speaker 2: great in basketball? But I'm gonna make it broad. I'm
- 3:39Speaker 2: gonna make it broad so that when he said great,
- 3:41Speaker 2: I can hold you accountable for everything in your life
- 3:44Speaker 2: if I see you not being great at it. That's
- 3:52Speaker 2: the same thing that he passed on to his kid,
- 3:54Speaker 2: his siblings, And that's a joke for like a joke
- 3:58Speaker 2: that we have in the house. If they see me
- 4:00Speaker 2: on something, they say, you, Dad, you want to be
- 4:02Speaker 2: good or great? And then make me remember it. I'm
- 4:04Speaker 2: trying to be great you hit me great. Being great,
- 4:20Speaker 2: sometimes you're gonna be disliked. You have to show courage
- 4:26Speaker 2: that through that people disliking or whatever it is, that
- 4:31Speaker 2: I'm confident in my choice. I'm confident that I will
- 4:35Speaker 2: make it. I want to be great. You want to
- 4:40Speaker 2: be great. I told you and you all too, greatness
- 4:44Speaker 2: and great.
- 4:44Speaker 4: I don't see you.
- 4:45Speaker 2: Falling off, no nowhere under that.
- 4:48Speaker 4: You hear me.
- 4:49Speaker 2: So thank you Chicago for forcing me to be great,
- 4:54Speaker 2: putting those expectations on me, not understanding that I was
- 5:03Speaker 2: trying to be great the entire time too, and I
- 5:06Speaker 2: just didn't know the environment that I was in that
- 5:08Speaker 2: was forcing me to So thank you for everybody that
- 5:13Speaker 2: watched me ever since I was in sixth grade, seventh grade,
- 5:16Speaker 2: eighth grade, injuries, MVP, playoff losses, playoff wins. Thank you.
- 5:25Speaker 2: But I must say that is going.
- 5:27Speaker 4: To be the old pool.
- 5:29Speaker 2: This new version of me is what you see. I
- 5:33Speaker 2: am a businessman now. Thank you,
