- 0:50Theresa: I just want you to know that Christian women are sharing their stories, and I believe you gotta handle them with care.

- 1:03Theresa: She's an apostle, an author, a speaker, and a coach.
- 1:06Theresa: She's serving the Kingdom of God ever so powerfully with her book from her story.
- 1:11Theresa: So Cheryl, Coach Cheryl, welcome.
- 1:13Theresa: I'm so glad to have you.
- 1:16Cheryl: It's so great to be here.
- 1:17Cheryl: Thank you so much.
- 1:18Cheryl: It's podcasts like yours that really make a difference- Yeah in women's lives.
- 1:22Theresa: Yeah, and that's, that's why, um, I've asked you, you, we had a little pre-talk, which I think is good, and I basically asked you, can you go to the uttermost, guttermost to the uttermost with your story concerning abortion?
- 1:35Theresa: I think someone...
- 1:36Theresa: Lean in.
- 1:37Theresa: Lean in to this, folks.
- 1:38Theresa: Okay
- 1:40Cheryl: Absolutely.
- 1:41Cheryl: Absolutely.
- 1:42Cheryl: Thank you for the honor, uh, to share.
- 1:44Cheryl: Uh, I am a woman who's had an abortion and a woman who's had a baby.
- 1:49Cheryl: And so I can tell you the ins and the outs of what, uh, what will happen to you and what, what experiences you'll have.
- 1:59Theresa: Hmm.
- 2:00Cheryl: Uh, at 18, I found myself pregnant and went to, uh, an abortion clinic because I thought in my mind that I had places to go, people to see- Mm-hmm and things to do.
- 2:13Cheryl: And, um, I was not, uh, I was not educated.
- 2:18Cheryl: I was not a Christian.
- 2:20Cheryl: I, I was not in this sense of knowing anything about pro-life other than there were lots and lots of picketers at the, at the, at the facility trying to prevent you from getting in.
- 2:34Cheryl: And, um, in the middle of the procedure, the doctor was so grotesque that he- Hmm he, I was screaming from pain actually.
- 2:44Cheryl: Yeah.
- 2:44Cheryl: And he said,"If you don't shut up-
- 2:47Theresa: Hmm
- 2:47Cheryl: I'm gonna make you have this baby." Now, I was already halfway through the procedure, so that was just a lie of manipulation.
- 2:54Cheryl: But-
- 2:54Theresa: Oh
- 2:54Cheryl: um, it shut me up and, uh, I spent the next few years, uh, in a lot of psychological mental anguish.
- 3:06Theresa: Yeah.
- 3:06Cheryl: And, um, I almost died w- uh, two weeks later from complications.
- 3:13Cheryl: Uh, went to the doctor and had a severe infection.
- 3:18Cheryl: So-
- 3:19Theresa: Wow
- 3:19Cheryl: the, the procedure itself was horrendous, the most experienced pain I've ever felt.
- 3:25Theresa: Yeah.
- 3:25Cheryl: But the good news is, is that Christ in me is the hope of glory.
- 3:31Theresa: Come on,
- 3:31Cheryl: now.
- 3:31Cheryl: And there was a moment in time after I knew Jesus, the woman who, uh, witnessed to me, uh, when I f- when I first came to know Jesus, it was because the Lord spoke to me in an audible voice.
- 3:46Theresa: Wow.
- 3:47Cheryl: That's good.
- 3:47Cheryl: And so all of a sudden I knew He was real, and I'm like going around wanting- Yeah to talk to somebody, but didn't know who to talk to.
- 3:58Theresa: Right.
- 3:58Cheryl: That's right.
- 3:58Cheryl: And when I moved to Champaign, Illinois after getting married, um- A lady introduced herself and took me to coffee, and within 10 minutes said,"So where do you stand spiritually?" And I said,"I'm so glad you asked,"'cause then I had all the I had something, someone to share it with, right?
- 4:18Cheryl: But in that, in that, um, receiving of Christ as my Lord and Savior, there was a moment in time where the Lord spoke to me very directly, and he said,"You murdered my child."
- 4:31Theresa: Mm.
- 4:31Cheryl: And that was a giant wake-up call.
- 4:35Cheryl: Okay.
- 4:35Cheryl: And immediately asked for forgiveness for that.
- 4:39Theresa: Yeah, yeah.
- 4:40Cheryl: Um, which then led me down a path to leading, uh, small groups of women through post-abortion healing classes.
- 4:50Theresa: Wow.
- 4:50Cheryl: And, um, so if you have experienced this or you know someone who has, and you share this video, just know that there is hope- Mm-hmm and there is healing, and there is restoration, and that God has forgiven you.
- 5:07Cheryl: And that is, in all the years of ministry that I've done, in all the years of, of inner healing work that I've done with people- Yeah abortion seems to be the most difficult thing for women to forgive themselves.
- 5:23Cheryl: Sure.
- 5:23Cheryl: Because innately, we were created to multiply, nourish Yeah bless, and bring forth.
- 5:30Cheryl: And, and so, but God is so loving, and he's so kind.
- 5:36Theresa: Amen.
- 5:36Theresa: Yeah.
- 5:37Cheryl: And when we are obedient to respond to his love and forgive, um, ask forgiveness and to forgive- Yeah ourselves, it brings total restoration and total healing.
- 5:49Theresa: I think of two women who are watching this.
- 5:51Theresa: I know you can talk on a lot of subjects, but there's two women.
- 5:55Theresa: First, talk to the woman who, Christian or not, they just gotta get rid of the problem, and they're c- they're actually, uh, happen to be watching this, and they are considering- They're like,"You're not gonna scare me, Coach Cheryl." But, but they're, they're really considering it.
- 6:10Theresa: No, s- no shame here, okay?
- 6:12Theresa: No shame in it- No as I say that to you.
- 6:15Theresa: No shame.
- 6:15Theresa: No shame, but- No condemnation but no condemnation, but maybe you could speak something to her.
- 6:19Theresa: Not, you're not trying to scare her, but you're just trying to speak.
- 6:22Theresa: I know you could do this,'cause you speak lovingly truth.
- 6:26Theresa: What would you say to that woman?
- 6:28Cheryl: Yes.
- 6:29Cheryl: As, as a woman who has experienced this, um, I would say you need to, you need to do some research.
- 6:37Cheryl: Oh.
- 6:37Cheryl: And you need to find out what the cost is.
- 6:41Theresa: Okay.
- 6:41Cheryl: Because when...
- 6:43Cheryl: No woman goes to an abortion clinic, uh, thinking casually,"Oh, I'm just gonna get rid of this." It's, it's like chewing off your leg.
- 6:53Theresa: Yeah.
- 6:54Theresa: That's a
- 6:54Cheryl: good- I mean, it's like a wolf going out, you know, like you're caught in a trap.
- 6:58Cheryl: Yeah.
- 6:58Cheryl: And you don't know how to get out, just like you said, Theresa.
- 7:02Cheryl: And-
- 7:02Theresa: Yeah
- 7:03Cheryl: and so, but the other side, there is another side.
- 7:07Cheryl: And you think,"Oh, well, once I get to the other side, I'll just have relief," and that's not true.
- 7:12Cheryl: I had, um, the average woman, it takes eight years before they even acknowledge and are able to process- Wow the damage that they've done to their bodies and to their psyche.
- 7:25Theresa: Wow.
- 7:25Cheryl: Um, there's usually flashbacks.
- 7:29Cheryl: There's nightmares.
- 7:31Cheryl: Mm.
- 7:31Cheryl: There's, um, women who have an abortion have a much higher rate of, of breast cancer.
- 7:37Cheryl: Wow.
- 7:37Cheryl: There is issues of, um, not being able to conceive a child in the future.
- 7:43Theresa: Yeah.
- 7:44Cheryl: And so when you do meet that special someone and you want to be married and have a family, it could be stolen from you because of this choice.
- 7:51Cheryl: Yeah.
- 7:53Cheryl: Um, there's so many physical side effects-
- 7:56Theresa: Mm
- 7:56Cheryl: and emotional trauma.
- 8:00Cheryl: It, you're causing emotional trauma to your physical health-
- 8:03Theresa: Yeah
- 8:04Cheryl: and to your mental health when you make this decision.
- 8:08Cheryl: And so it may seem on the onset that, oh, well, I'm just gonna remove a problem, and then I can go on with my life, but you create a whole nother set- Yeah of problems.
- 8:21Cheryl: And so you need to weigh that out.
- 8:23Theresa: Um, adoption- Correct me if, correct, correct me if I'm wrong, though, but f- I read somewhere that oftentimes the woman who has abortion ends up getting pregnant- Right away after that.
- 8:34Theresa: Another,"Oops," or another,"I didn't mean to get pregnant." I- I don't know if there's a statistic to that, but then you got the problem again, and you haven't even dealt with the effects.
- 8:43Theresa: Have you heard of that, or am I just reading something that I didn't, isn't correct?
- 8:48Cheryl: Um, well, when you're, it, it is easier when you're pregnant to get pregnant again because you're, while you're breastfeeding and so forth.
- 8:56Cheryl: But, um, as far as, uh, the additional, once you've had an abortion, uh, I think, I think mentally you throw caution to the wind.
- 9:07Cheryl: That's it.
- 9:07Cheryl: Because psychologically, you, you're like, you're a wreck, and you- Okay don't, you don't take care of yourself the way that you normally would- Makes sense because- Yeah you're emotionally traumatized.
- 9:20Cheryl: And so a lot, the statistics of increased drug abuse, increased alcohol abuse, increased sexual activity-
- 9:28Theresa: Wow all
- 9:28Cheryl: of that goes up when-
- 9:30Theresa: Okay uh,
- 9:31Cheryl: when you've had an abortion.
- 9:32Theresa: Wow.
- 9:33Theresa: That's, that's, all you're delivering is truth.
- 9:36Theresa: So then there's the woman.
- 9:38Theresa: Let's just talk to her.
- 9:39Theresa: You pretty much shared, but, um, is there practical things that she could just, like she's desperate.
- 9:45Theresa: She's tired of the, of the strain and the, the abuse on her mind.
- 9:50Theresa: What would be some practical steps for her to take?
- 9:54Cheryl: Um, before or after?
- 9:56Theresa: After.
- 9:57Cheryl: After.
- 9:58Cheryl: Yes.
- 9:59Cheryl: Um, w- there is a fantastic Bible study called Forgiven and Set Free.
- 10:05Theresa: Wow.
- 10:05Cheryl: Um, even if you don't know Jesus or you're not interested in- Yeah you know, church things, um, it, it's tremendously helpful.
- 10:14Theresa: Yeah.
- 10:14Cheryl: Um, because what you're, what you're going through is deep levels of grief.
- 10:20Theresa: Geez.
- 10:21Cheryl: And you may not acknowledge it up front.
- 10:23Cheryl: Like I said, sometimes it takes- Yeah eight years.
- 10:26Cheryl: In my classes, um, I basically had grandmas attending my classes because it, it took that long for that repression.
- 10:35Cheryl: I liken it to this.
- 10:36Cheryl: When you have an abortion, all of that pain, all of that suffering, all that trauma is like you're constantly holding a beach ball underwater.
- 10:46Theresa: Wow.
- 10:46Cheryl: And do you know how hard it is to keep a beach ball underwater?
- 10:52Theresa: Yeah.
- 10:52Cheryl: But everything from that point on, every muscle, every- Mm moment of your body, everything inside of you mentally, spiritually, physically, psychologically, it's all holding that secret.
- 11:06Cheryl: It's all holding that ball under that water, and you're constraining yourself in every way.
- 11:13Cheryl: Yeah.
- 11:13Cheryl: And, and you're exhausted.
- 11:15Cheryl: And, and so part of that is grief.
- 11:17Cheryl: Part of that is- Yeah that separation anxiety that comes with that.
- 11:21Cheryl: Um- Oh,
- 11:22Theresa: wow
- 11:23Cheryl: being able to identify the issues, um, immediately go to counseling.
- 11:29Cheryl: If-
- 11:30Theresa: Yes
- 11:30Cheryl: you know, let's say you felt like there was just no way out, and, you know, that's how I felt, like there was this, this is the only thing I can do.
- 11:38Cheryl: I have, I have a life to have and, and et cetera.
- 11:42Cheryl: And, and that's not necessarily a excuse, but sometimes there's people who are just backed up against the wall, and, and they, they make, they make a wrong decision.
- 11:53Cheryl: And so- God is gracious- Yeah and He will forgive you- Mm-hmm as you seek His face.
- 12:02Cheryl: Um-
- 12:03Theresa: Yeah
- 12:03Cheryl: but there's a process that you have to go through.
- 12:06Cheryl: Whenever you hit any kind of trauma-
- 12:08Theresa: Yeah
- 12:08Cheryl: there, you know, there are the stages that you have to go through.
- 12:12Theresa: Yeah.
- 12:12Cheryl: Um, you know, acceptance and, and anger and, um, all of the- Yeah forgiveness stages, et cetera.
- 12:21Cheryl: So those six stages of human processing, you can find them on my website at theresmoreministries.com.
- 12:28Cheryl: But those are processes that you have to go through- It's good whether it's something as small as somebody s- stole something out of your car.
- 12:37Theresa: Yeah, trauma still.
- 12:38Cheryl: Or the death- Yeah of a loved one, or- Yeah you know, the issue of abortion.
- 12:43Cheryl: And so- Yeah,
- 12:44Theresa: that's good
- 12:44Cheryl: um, you can't escape it.
- 12:47Theresa: Yeah.
- 12:47Cheryl: God created us to process, and-
- 12:50Theresa: No stuffing.
- 12:51Theresa: No stuffing allowed.
- 12:52Theresa: You stuff, you- Exactly I have a, a f- friend who says,"Feeling is healing, Tee." You know, I d- I had 26 years of really bad abuse with a, uh, a narcissist husband who passed away four years ago.
- 13:04Theresa: But, four years ago, but I have found that in the last three years I've had to have help to re- deconstruct the lies and reconstruct, you know.
- 13:16Theresa: So it's, whatever the trauma is, there is definitely a step.
- 13:20Theresa: So that's, that was kind of your beginning point, but then you, you've, you've, God's moved you and anointed you into this place of helping these kind of women.
- 13:31Theresa: A great podcast.
- 13:32Theresa: So w- how was that transition?
- 13:35Theresa: How did that go into the powerful woman that you are now, anointed?
- 13:41Cheryl: Um, well, as I s- as I stated, the Lord spoke to me in an audible voice.
- 13:45Theresa: That'll do it.
- 13:46Cheryl: And at that moment, um, I was, I was...
- 13:51Cheryl: I had been broken up from three different relationships- Okay two fiances.
- 13:57Cheryl: And, and I was like,"I'm done." And I was making a vow, I was in the process of making a vow that I was gonna shut my heart off and never, ever love anyone ever again.
- 14:07Cheryl: And, I was gonna put my heart behind a vault.
- 14:11Cheryl: Yeah.
- 14:12Cheryl: I was gonna lock the door.
- 14:13Theresa: No more.
- 14:14Cheryl: And there was this insignificant little plaque on the wall that a friend of mine had given me, and I was standing in the bathroom, and I was about to do this horrendous act of shutting down everything.
- 14:28Cheryl: And, um, the Lord spoke to me and said,"Trust me," right when I was reading the plaque,"The love you give away is the only love you keep."
- 14:37Theresa: Wow.
- 14:37Cheryl: And, and He basically was saying to me,"Trust me.
- 14:41Cheryl: Don't lock your heart up.
- 14:43Cheryl: Don't lock your heart away." Mm-hmm.
- 14:45Cheryl: Um,"I've got you," you know?
- 14:47Cheryl: And so that put me on a journey seeking that God was real.
- 14:52Theresa: Yeah.
- 14:53Cheryl: And, um, and so as I was seeking Him, He, He says He will find you.
- 15:00Cheryl: And He sure did.
- 15:01Cheryl: And I- Yeah um, when I got married and moved to Champaign- This woman, uh, Mara Milner, shout out to you, she led me to church.
- 15:12Cheryl: And she, every week I would go, and I would, I would cry and cry and cry, and then we'd get in the car, and I'd cuss her out.
- 15:24Theresa: Really?
- 15:25Cheryl: All the d- I understand all the demons, yeah, yeah.
- 15:26Cheryl: Yeah, yeah.
- 15:27Cheryl: All the demons in me were not happy about- Yeah what just had happened in church.
- 15:31Theresa: Yeah, yeah.
- 15:31Theresa: And
- 15:31Cheryl: I don't know why she kept calling, but by the time she called me on Wednesday again, I was like,"Yeah, I'd love to go."
- 15:37Theresa: Bless her.
- 15:39Theresa: Bless her.
- 15:39Theresa: Yeah,
- 15:40Cheryl: exactly.
- 15:41Theresa: Didn't you- And so- Didn't you feel like, didn't you feel like you j- and when you were, the devils weren't hitting you, didn't you feel like you just had to share it, just get it out to someone who'd listen?
- 15:52Theresa: Yes.
- 15:52Theresa: 'Cause there's-
- 15:53Cheryl: Yeah
- 15:53Theresa: some people don't realize that healing from trauma, a lot of times it's just you talking.
- 15:58Theresa: I mean, my friend said,"Yeah, those first six months, all you did was talk and go around the mountains." I said,"Well, why did you let me?" She goes,"It was healing," so.
- 16:07Theresa: I kid, I'm kidding you.
- 16:08Theresa: It wasn't abortion, but it was a trauma.
- 16:11Cheryl: Right.
- 16:11Cheryl: Well, all trauma.
- 16:12Cheryl: I mean, we all- Yeah experience trauma, and, and- Yeah and that's, you know, it- Yeah it's the same for everyone.
- 16:18Cheryl: It, our trauma is, is what, you know, our perception of what happened to us is what happened to us.
- 16:23Cheryl: Yeah.
- 16:23Cheryl: So it's important that we process everything.
- 16:26Cheryl: And so I was thrusted into leadership, uh- Wow within six months.
- 16:32Cheryl: And- No
- 16:33Theresa: kidding.
- 16:33Cheryl: Okay.
- 16:34Cheryl: I, uh, I, I've grown so much in, over the years, but I was immediately, uh, involved in an, uh, a para church organization, which I became a leader of, and- Okay was there for 24 years.
- 16:49Cheryl: And- Wow.
- 16:50Theresa: Awesome
- 16:50Cheryl: and, and then the Lord said,"It's time to s- to start something new." Wow.
- 16:54Cheryl: And so that's how I started There's More Ministries.
- 16:57Cheryl: And then, um- Yeah, thank you.
- 17:00Cheryl: Thank
- 17:00Theresa: you for obeying Him on that.
- 17:01Theresa: That's not an easy step to go from something comfortable to, so thank you,'cause I know-
- 17:06Cheryl: Yes, lots of- Um- Yes, that first class when He said,"I want you to start a post-abortion class," I'm like,"I'm healed.
- 17:13Cheryl: What do I need to do that for?" Oh, yeah.
- 17:15Theresa: And
- 17:17Cheryl: so, but He gave me dreams and visions and, and then- Oh, yeah I got permission from Tr- Kathy Trachele to use her music- I love Kathy as the soundtrack for our advertising.
- 17:28Cheryl: And- Yay it just all fit into place.
- 17:30Cheryl: And so that first- Right couple of years, that was my training ground there and-
- 17:33Theresa: So good.
- 17:34Theresa: I love Kathy Trachele.
- 17:35Theresa: I've, I've been in radio for quite, um, 17 years now.
- 17:38Theresa: Okay.
- 17:39Theresa: She's our-
- 17:39Cheryl: Yeah, I mean,
- 17:39Theresa: it's old school, but it, it- Yeah, we always said Kathy Trachele- It's beautiful we could hang with her.
- 17:44Theresa: So I, I understand, the good music.
- 17:47Theresa: So, um- Sure this, tell me if, I think, you can correct me wrong, I think the enemy's number one lie is,"God's holding out on you," so you get it yourself.
- 17:59Theresa: I think that's the ground for, breeding ground for smashes and crashes that become trauma.
- 18:06Theresa: But we think God's holding out on us.
- 18:08Theresa: Yeah, well, how does that sit with you?
- 18:12Cheryl: Oh, it's definitely one of the lies.
- 18:14Cheryl: I mean, we were in good company.
- 18:15Cheryl: Adam and Eve fell to the same lie.
- 18:22Theresa: So, you know- I had thought of that after God said that to me.
- 18:24Theresa: I did think of that, but I love the way you said it.
- 18:27Theresa: Welcome to the- For
- 18:28Cheryl: sure.
- 18:29Theresa: But I really think- For sure I really think that could be the source of so much hurt and pain.
- 18:34Theresa: Um- Uh, I d- you know, uh, we, let's be real.
- 18:40Theresa: There's a, we have an enemy that doesn't want us to succeed, but-
- 18:44Cheryl: Right
- 18:45Theresa: greater is he that is in you than is in the world.
- 18:47Theresa: As he is in the world, so are you.
- 18:48Theresa: That's not said enough.
- 18:50Theresa: Sometimes a Christian just thinks,"Oh, I'm just, well..." They give the Devil too much credit.
- 18:54Theresa: Talk to that.
- 18:55Cheryl: Absolutely.
- 18:56Cheryl: We cannot.
- 18:57Cheryl: Um, I spent seven years in utter torment, uh, when I first got saved from the enemy, physically and emotionally.
- 19:05Cheryl: Mm.
- 19:05Cheryl: And went through lots of healing and deliverance for myself, or sanctification, depending on where you're at in the- Yeah in your walk.
- 19:13Cheryl: But, um, in that process, uh, the Lord taught me very much ignore the enemy.
- 19:20Cheryl: Wow.
- 19:20Cheryl: Just ignore him and, and keep your focus on me, keep your focus on the kingdom.
- 19:25Cheryl: Mm.
- 19:25Cheryl: Keep your focus on praising me-
- 19:28Theresa: Yeah
- 19:28Cheryl: and seeking me out.
- 19:29Cheryl: And that was the way out of that, um, that horrible time.
- 19:35Cheryl: Uh, not only for me getting set free, but I was the first person in my bloodline to really dive in and get saved and set free, so I was delivering my whole bloodline-
- 19:46Theresa: Yeah
- 19:47Cheryl: from generational sin of abuse and victimization and on and on and on.
- 19:52Cheryl: So, um, breaking those generational curses is so, so important when- Mm you are coming into the kingdom.
- 20:00Theresa: And some people just don't realize that.
- 20:03Theresa: I mean, they go,"Oh, you're getting woo-woo." I mean, no, this is reality.
- 20:06Theresa: Your, your bloodline could have something in it that's makes it mo- uh, more opportunity or just a open gate.
- 20:14Theresa: And so, uh, explain that a little more.
- 20:17Theresa: There, someone may say,"I don't get what she s- means by that." I just
- 20:22Cheryl: think that needs to be explained.
- 20:23Cheryl: Sure, for sure.
- 20:23Cheryl: Um, over 30 years I have been ministering to people, and in that process have come to learn that, um, there are spiritual conditions to our physical sin responses.
- 20:39Cheryl: And so, um, w- when we open doors to sin, the Bible gives us a, a roadmap or an instruction manual and it, and it says,"If you do these things, these curses will befall you.
- 20:54Cheryl: And if you do these things, these blessings will befall you." And so if you follow that, then you can begin to see these patterns.
- 21:03Cheryl: In over 30 years, I've found that there are many, many patterns that exist.
- 21:09Cheryl: When there's a sin, then this pattern follows.
- 21:13Cheryl: Yeah.
- 21:13Cheryl: And so that's how I've discovered, um, and created what I call a root to restore method, because- Oh God wants us to be His original design.
- 21:25Cheryl: Yeah.
- 21:25Cheryl: He wants all of us to come to be His original intent for our lives.
- 21:30Cheryl: And so life throws many, many blankets over us, and, and we even throw some on ourselves.
- 21:37Cheryl: You know, my, me accepting that abortion opened the door to rage, and murder, and, um, devastation, and stole my compassion.
- 21:47Cheryl: Yeah.
- 21:47Cheryl: But when I asked Jesus to come into my life, He wanted to restore me back to original intent, and bring that compassion back to me, and bring- Mm life, and mothering, and nurturing back to me- Mm um, so that I could be a mother and, and have a child, and, and, and bring forth the fruit that God wants for our lives.
- 22:10Theresa: So is that what, when you see, when you see your clients, is that kind of, is it a myriad of issues, or does it all come down to- the Lordship of Jesus.
- 22:19Theresa: How does that work?
- 22:19Cheryl: Um, I, I liken it to, I liken it to a tree.
- 22:24Cheryl: When, um, clients come in, they, they talk about all the leaves on the tree, and how the leaves are the problems, and, and so, but I have an innate gift from the Holy Spirit to, to take those leaves and say,"Okay.
- 22:40Cheryl: Well, let's go down the tree.
- 22:41Cheryl: Let's go down the tree trunk- The roots and go to the roots," right?
- 22:45Cheryl: Yeah.
- 22:45Cheryl: And, and what's the original, what's the original sin?
- 22:50Cheryl: What's the original root here that caused this problem to exist?
- 22:56Cheryl: And what we've found over years is that we have strongholds.
- 23:01Cheryl: You know- Yes when I was five, a, a set of circumstances surrounded me where my brother was born, I started kindergarten, my father left a job he loved to a job he hated.
- 23:13Cheryl: You know, all of these circumstances created this abandonment, rejection feeling- Mm-hmm for a five-year-old, right?
- 23:20Cheryl: Yes.
- 23:20Cheryl: Well, then the enemy comes in, and he starts putting bricks on that, right?
- 23:24Cheryl: He starts repeating the same pattern, which then is a stronghold.
- 23:30Cheryl: You know, and, and, and it could originate with some kind of a generational curse.
- 23:34Cheryl: So later, years later, found out that my mom had trauma at five.
- 23:39Cheryl: Oh.
- 23:39Cheryl: And that was when she was first being abused sexually.
- 23:42Cheryl: Yeah.
- 23:42Cheryl: So, so now you, you, you not only have your own, but then you have it tied to a generational curse, right?
- 23:50Cheryl: And so all of these things can compile, which then make the leaves in the tree, right?
- 23:56Cheryl: Like- Right I don't understand why I'm feeling, you know, so rejected at work, or I don't understand why these people aren't, you know, including me.
- 24:05Cheryl: So you, you have this process, but it always comes down to- So right what I say, removing all those blankets that, uh, life has thrown on us- Yeah and getting to that original intent that God had, that original purpose and design, because He has a plan for your life.
- 24:24Cheryl: He has a purpose for you.
- 24:26Cheryl: Yeah.
- 24:26Cheryl: And a d- and His original intent for you is goodness and mercy- Yeah and joy and life- Mm and liberty.
- 24:38Theresa: Praise you, girl.
- 24:38Theresa: You know, you know, you said, what you're saying is so much, uh, reflected, the tree, the roots.
- 24:46Theresa: My mentor was with Dr.
- 24:47Theresa: Caroline Leaf.
- 24:48Theresa: She is, she's one of our main strategists.
- 24:50Theresa: Oh.
- 24:50Theresa: So it's, there's so much wisdom, whoever says it.
- 24:54Theresa: But when you really get to the roots, and I, you know, a lot of times, I think you said it, that you can call it a, um, you can call it a strategic path of the enemy.
- 25:03Theresa: You could call it, you know, hey, uh, your bloodline.
- 25:05Theresa: But a lot of times it's what's that one thing?
- 25:09Theresa: That can you put your finger on it?
- 25:11Theresa: You know, for me, Coach Sheryl, it was I never felt like I was good enough.
- 25:15Theresa: So to build and to unwrap and to, you know, get to the root of that, I'm gonna tell you, it is so awesome to get to the root of that and not have to feel that way anymore.
- 25:26Theresa: Of course, it mi- it didn't help them.
- 25:28Theresa: I could do nothing right, and I couldn't even do tomato soup and a grilled cheese right.
- 25:32Theresa: It was never good enough.
- 25:34Theresa: But, uh, come on, that's a common thing.
- 25:37Theresa: C- le- you know, testimony means do it again, God, with the same might and power.
- 25:40Theresa: So we- we've got testimonies going for you.
- 25:44Theresa: Whether you don't feel like you're good enough or as to the extreme of having an abortion, please grab some of these testimonies and say,"I'm gonna take that.
- 25:52Theresa: I'm gonna take that." So your- Yes Roots to Restore, you have a cohort called that, right?
- 25:59Cheryl: Um, yes.
- 26:00Cheryl: We're starting a cohort this fall.
- 26:02Cheryl: Nice.
- 26:02Cheryl: The Root to Restore method, and, um, it's nine weeks of, of inner healing and breaking down generational curses, vows, and judgments.
- 26:12Cheryl: It's basically a, a total and complete cleansing- Yeah so that you can start fresh in your journey.
- 26:19Theresa: And, uh, and that's online then?
- 26:22Cheryl: It will be an online class.
- 26:24Cheryl: Okay.
- 26:24Cheryl: Yes.
- 26:25Cheryl: Um- Okay look for advertising on Facebook- Yeah uh, to get it started.
- 26:29Cheryl: It's called, uh, we're starting the, the first class is called Drop the Suitcase.
- 26:33Cheryl: So you wanna drop all the luggage, drop all the suitcase, drop all the baggage.
- 26:37Cheryl: And,
- 26:39Theresa: and you also have a powerful book, Unbroken Promises.
- 26:43Theresa: Yeah, show us that.
- 26:43Cheryl: Yes.
- 26:44Cheryl: Thank you for mentioning that.
- 26:45Cheryl: And that's- It's on Amazon wonderful And it is showing you the promises of God in the midst of all the things we've been talking about here today.
- 26:54Cheryl: Wow.
- 26:55Cheryl: The stories of, of abuse and abortion and, um, opening the doors.
- 27:01Cheryl: It's a how-to guide.
- 27:02Cheryl: Yeah.
- 27:03Cheryl: Um, you can actually go through.
- 27:05Cheryl: There's prayers at the end of- Yes how to break judgments, how to break- Yes curses, um, and, um, walk out that, that, uh, victory with Jesus.
- 27:15Cheryl: So,
- 27:16Theresa: um, it's- I'll definitely, I'll definitely put the link in the show notes for that,'cause that might be-
- 27:19Cheryl: Oh, thank you.
- 27:20Cheryl: Yes a good
- 27:21Theresa: starting point.
- 27:22Theresa: And, uh, where can we find you on social?
- 27:25Cheryl: Um, you can find me on Facebook, theresmoreministries.com, or you can find us at la- laughingwithlions.com.

- 27:49Theresa: Yeah, yeah.
- 27:50Cheryl: But, um, you will hear on our podcast.
- 27:52Cheryl: How, what's that
- 27:52Theresa: like to be in so many years of ministry, I'm just curious, what's that like to have your own YouTube channel, your own podcast, your own sh- your show?
- 28:02Theresa: What, what's that feel like?
- 28:03Theresa: Is, you feel like that's what God set me up for?
- 28:06Cheryl: Yeah.
- 28:07Cheryl: It's, it's surreal.
- 28:08Cheryl: I mean, I think it's answer to prophecies.
- 28:10Cheryl: You know, for years, I've, I've been told I'm, I'm gonna be behind a microphone and-
- 28:15Theresa: Yeah
- 28:15Cheryl: and when I, I was offered a local t- uh, a- TV show here in our community.
- 28:23Cheryl: I'm like,"Really?"
- 28:25Theresa: That's good.
- 28:25Cheryl: So it was a little surprising, but I did a show called Gatekeepers for- Yes about a year and a half.
- 28:32Cheryl: Right.
- 28:32Cheryl: And, um, stories of the supernatural.
- 28:36Cheryl: Uh- I love it so coming into, uh, new realms of media with COVID, you know, everything went online.
- 28:43Cheryl: Yeah.
- 28:43Cheryl: So it was like, all right, here we go.
- 28:47Theresa: That's so great.
- 28:48Theresa: Liftoff.
- 28:48Theresa: That's so great.
- 28:48Theresa: I love that.
- 28:49Theresa: Well, Amen, I appreciate you so much.
- 28:51Theresa: Um, I'm just gonna ask one more question.
- 28:54Theresa: Someone's listening and they've heard all that you've said, but they're afraid to take that step, and we call it faith.
- 29:01Theresa: Any...
- 29:01Theresa: I, just let it go however you want, prophetically, any way.
- 29:05Theresa: I, it's, the stage is yours.
- 29:08Cheryl: Yes.
- 29:09Cheryl: Yes.
- 29:09Cheryl: If you have never, um, stepped into the realm of believing and walking with, um, a beloved friend, his name is Jesus.
- 29:22Theresa: Yes.
- 29:22Cheryl: And he adores you and he cherishes you, and he doesn't reject you.
- 29:27Cheryl: Yes.
- 29:27Cheryl: But he loves you with all, his whole heart.
- 29:30Theresa: Mm.
- 29:30Cheryl: And if you have been broken and you have been hurt and you've been wounded, I just wanna stand in the gap, and I just wanna say I'm so sorry- Mm-hmm for where you've been hurt.
- 29:41Cheryl: I'm so sorry for where you've been wounded and rejected, because that's not God's intention for your life.
- 29:48Theresa: Yeah.
- 29:49Theresa: Yeah.
- 29:49Cheryl: And that's not how he feels to you.
- 29:51Cheryl: He, ask your forgiveness, I ask your forgiveness.
- 29:55Theresa: Yeah.
- 29:56Cheryl: And please forgive, please forgive, because that's the first step-
- 30:01Theresa: Yes
- 30:02Cheryl: to receiving the- Yeah love that God has for you.
- 30:06Theresa: Yeah.
- 30:07Cheryl: I didn't close off my heart because he intervened, and today, this is your moment.
- 30:13Cheryl: Mm.
- 30:13Cheryl: This is your time.
- 30:14Cheryl: Yes.
- 30:14Cheryl: Teresa's podcast is an opportunity for you to step into the best decision you'll ever make in your life.
- 30:22Cheryl: Mm.
- 30:22Cheryl: Just invite Jesus into your heart.
- 30:25Cheryl: Yeah.
- 30:25Cheryl: Just say,"Lord Jesus, come into my heart.
- 30:27Cheryl: Forgive me of what I have done wrong, and I choose by an act of my will, not my feelings, but an act of my will to forgive others who've done me wrong." And as you, as you pray that prayer, that's the first step into the Kingdom of God- Yeah that says,"I am saved and I am a believer."
- 30:51Theresa: Mm.
- 30:52Cheryl: Find a local group of people that can support you and encourage your walk.
- 30:58Theresa: Yeah.
- 30:58Cheryl: Grab a Bible and start reading it.
- 31:01Cheryl: Yeah.
- 31:01Cheryl: And ask the Holy Spirit to come into your life and fill you- Mm so you can have great wisdom, understanding, and most of all, the fruits of the Spirit.
- 31:12Cheryl: I don't know about you, but I need more love, joy- Yes peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness- Amen faithfulness, and self-control.
- 31:19Cheryl: Amen.
- 31:19Cheryl: And the Holy Spirit will give that to you.
- 31:22Cheryl: All you have to do is ask.
- 31:23Theresa: Oh, so good.
- 31:24Theresa: Thank you.
- 31:25Theresa: If you're listening and you need to grab hold of that, uh, push rewind and listen to some of this,'cause this is straight from the throne, and sometimes it, whoa, I don't know, it's just...
