- 0:01Welcome back everybody to another episode of the Bring the
- 0:05Thunder Podcast. And we have the whole squad here
- 0:10today. We have everybody, all five of
- 0:12us. It's been a while since we've
- 0:13actually gotten everybody on here, but today we got a little
- 0:17pretty fun concept for you guys. All five of us have come up with
- 0:20our own Thunder related topics, which we will get into as we go
- 0:24on. But yeah, we're all going to
- 0:25pretty much introduce those and whoever introduces their topic
- 0:28gets to kind of break it down South.
- 0:30Let's just let's jump right in. We're going to start with
- 0:32Landon's topic. So Landon, you can go ahead and
- 0:35start us off. Well, the 2025 offseason has
- 0:39been a busy offseason, so we're going to go, I'm going to go
- 0:42ahead and pick two winners and two losers.
- 0:47There's a lot of action in the West this year and I think a
- 0:51fairly obvious winner is the Denver Nuggets.
- 0:55They traded MPJ in the first round pick to the Nets for Cam
- 0:58Johnson, and then they also added more depth, adding Bruce
- 1:03Brown, who was on their championship roster when they
- 1:06want it all. They added Tim Hardaway junior,
- 1:09who's a nice vet to add to that bench, and then they also added
- 1:13Jonas, Jonas Valentinez as a backup to Jokic.
- 1:20That one's more up in the air. He might go to Greece and play,
- 1:23but we'll see. I don't think anything's
- 1:26official on that yet, but how do you guys feel?
- 1:31Is that a winner? I mean, I absolutely think it
- 1:34is. I don't think it's like maybe
- 1:35the craziest depth ever, but the fact that it's any depth is more
- 1:39than what they had, you know? I mean, when Yokich isn't
- 1:41playing, they're one of the worst teams in the entire
- 1:44league. And when he's on the court,
- 1:45they're incredible. So anything helps.
- 1:47So yeah, I I agree with you. Winner.
- 1:50Yeah, absolute winner. Definitely a winner by 5.
- 1:58All right, well, my second winner is another Western
- 2:01Conference team busy offseason for them on the Houston Rockets.
- 2:08They got their one option with Kevin Durant trading away Jalen
- 2:11Green and Dylan Brooks in a pic that became come on Mal, you
- 2:14walk. They did trade younger guy came
- 2:18Whitmore to the Wizards, but you never really was able to step
- 2:22into a full, full rule for them. They resigned Van Fleet,
- 2:27resigned Steven Adams, and then they also brought in Dorian
- 2:31Finney Smith from the Lakers, which I thought was really
- 2:34interesting. And I think he'll be some, I
- 2:37think he'll be a lot of help for them if they go on a run in the
- 2:41playoffs because he's more experienced than a lot of the
- 2:43other rotation players on their team.
- 2:47Fair enough. Makes sense to me.
- 2:48I I agree with you. I mean, didn't have to give up
- 2:51too much for Katie and getting him on this team now that just
- 2:54won 50 games. I mean, you might as well might
- 2:57as well count that as a win. So yeah, I'm good with that.
- 2:59Winner I actually had them as losers before the Finney Smith
- 3:02deal, but now because I thought they lost their, you know, kind
- 3:06of their motto, their defense first type of we're going to
- 3:11we're going to out strength you, we're going to out muscle you,
- 3:12we're going to get in your head. But when you bring in Finney
- 3:14Smith now you got that three and D guy just like Brooks.
- 3:17So winner. Somewhat of a win of the May,
- 3:22but not the biggest one. Fair enough, all.
- 3:27Right, but I think I also forgot to mention they added Clint
- 3:29Cabella from the Hawks, but I don't think that's super
- 3:36significant for losers. I actually have the Lakers as my
- 3:41first one. They did add DeAndre Ayton from
- 3:44the Trail Blazers. They did add Jake Laravia and I
- 3:49do Theo in the draft, but I just don't think that's enough.
- 3:51I watched them in the first round.
- 3:55There was more issues to be fixed than just getting a
- 3:57Sinner. And it's not like Ayton's the
- 3:59greatest Sinner in the world. I feel like they could have done
- 4:03better and I feel like it just doesn't fill all the holes for
- 4:07them. I feel like it's just not
- 4:08enough. Yeah, I mean, that makes sense
- 4:12to me, really. I do like the choice to go get
- 4:15Ayton in my opinion but I agree watching them in that first
- 4:17round I mean they were getting so much hype behind.
- 4:20And, and, and on top of that, they lost Dorian Phinney Smith
- 4:24to the Rockets, so. I I don't like what they've been
- 4:28doing, I'll put it that way. Absolute loser.
- 4:32DeAndre Aiden mid. The team has not won the solid
- 4:39defender on it. The starting lineup has no
- 4:40defense whatsoever. Absolute loser.
- 4:44I'm going to disagree. I think they're not complete
- 4:48losers. Like Ayton's a solid center than
- 4:52more people think. He provides a lot of upside.
- 4:56He can dunk. He's great in pick and roll,
- 4:58pick and pop situations. Can't play defense though.
- 5:02They have a defender and I think Jared Vanderbilt, right, so.
- 5:09Vando's a pretty solid. Yeah, Vando's solid.
- 5:11Like he can fill in for that same role.
- 5:15So I think they just were missing a center overall and.
- 5:18Yeah, I I'm more with that there here.
- 5:22I think the only loser for the Lakers is LeBron for opting into
- 5:26his player option and then complaining about not having a
- 5:29championship team. So they did as as best as they
- 5:33could, I think. Or they, I mean they got a good
- 5:36center. Yeah.
- 5:38That's not much else, yeah. I do want to say a backcourt of
- 5:44Austin Reeves and Luka Donich is atrocious defensively.
- 5:50That is, that is, we could. See Reeves being moved mid
- 5:53season or something. True.
- 5:57Loser. And then my second loser.
- 6:01It's not anything they did, they didn't do.
- 6:03They didn't really do anything wrong.
- 6:05But it's just the Warriors because they've done nothing.
- 6:07They're basically running it back with the same team they
- 6:09lost. They lost a Sinner in Cavan
- 6:11Looney. He signed with the Pelicans.
- 6:14They're probably going to lose. Jonathan Kaminga, Steph Curry's
- 6:18getting older, the championship windows closing, and I think
- 6:22they need more depth. I just don't think the current
- 6:24team's enough and they didn't. They haven't really gone out and
- 6:27get got anyone. If they do get, if they do
- 6:31happen to get Alf Horford, that changes my opinion a bit.
- 6:34But as of now, I'm just not a big fan of what they've done
- 6:37this offseason. Yeah, I got, I don't have any
- 6:40complaints there. I mean, I think there's some
- 6:42that in my opinion have lost worse than that.
- 6:43But that's just like you said, the fact that they've done
- 6:46nothing is not good. So no, I it's just kind of like
- 6:49it's the meme of the poker with a stick.
- 6:51It's like, come on, they're not doing anything.
- 6:53So yeah, I I completely agree with both.
- 6:55All four of those teams, especially the Warriors, like
- 6:59you said, championship window is closing.
- 7:01They have stars, but they're all on the back end of their careers
- 7:05and they did absolutely nothing. Yeah.
- 7:08You didn't get better, you might have got worse when you lose
- 7:11Looney. So loser.
- 7:15Fair enough. Well, I mean, we could all go
- 7:18through real quick and just give our two winners and two losers
- 7:21just really quickly. So savvy, you can go ahead and
- 7:23start since you're at the top here.
- 7:25Yeah, I would say Thunder are winners and I would say the
- 7:31Rockets, same as Landon, are winners as well for obvious
- 7:35reasons. For both those teams, I chose
- 7:39the Pelicans as losers because they're going to be a bottom 3
- 7:44Western Conference team with no pick in the next draft.
- 7:48And then the other loser, I guess I would say is Portland.
- 7:54They can't really decide on a direction.
- 7:56That's a team that doesn't get mentioned in videos at all.
- 7:59So I wanted to mention them like you pick up Drew for really no
- 8:04reason, you trade away in a high upside point guard and don't
- 8:08really get much back for him. So kind of a confusing offseason
- 8:13for them. Like they're trying to contend
- 8:14similar to the Pelicans but they don't realize they're going to
- 8:17be bottom 4 so. Yeah, fair enough.
- 8:20I agree with that. Yeah, my first winner I had the
- 8:24Atlanta Hawks. I think the Hawks been making
- 8:26good moves. I, I like everything that
- 8:27they're doing. I'm looking forward to it at
- 8:29least watching them giving Trey Young some help finally.
- 8:32So I like what they've been doing.
- 8:33And then my other winner was the Magic.
- 8:35I actually love the Magic, kind of seeing the East opening up
- 8:38and making a big trade. They definitely spent a lot, but
- 8:41I like the addition of Desmond Bayne and I think they kind of
- 8:44just got really aggressive seeing the East was open.
- 8:46My losers, the Brooklyn Nets, one of the worst drafts I've
- 8:48seen in quite a while. Just a horrendous draft.
- 8:51And then I really don't like the choice of trading MPJ or trading
- 8:55for MPJ and getting rid of Cam Johnson.
- 8:57I I don't like that at all. And my other loser is the
- 9:00Chicago Bulls. They are continuing to do
- 9:03nothing that helps them at all. And they just lost Lonzo.
- 9:06And I know Lonzo's injury prone, but I just don't like what
- 9:09they're what they're doing. They still have Fooch and they
- 9:11just shouldn't have him anymore. So Bulls fans are still stuck in
- 9:15purgatory. So yeah.
- 9:18Yeah, I go ahead. Jack.
- 9:20Go ahead, Jack. Oh.
- 9:22I was just going to say mine, but if you go to comic, go
- 9:24crazy. No, no, go ahead.
- 9:27Go away. Well, I have the same winners,
- 9:29Hawks and magic for the same reasons basically, so I'm not
- 9:33going to say much much more about that and then losers.
- 9:36I have Warriors because they haven't done anything and then
- 9:39Timbals, they lost their best defender and I don't think
- 9:45they've made any major moves outside of that.
- 9:48And you just come off back-to-back Western Conference
- 9:51final losses and then you lose your best offenders, so.
- 9:56Yeah, yeah, it's actually one I agree with.
- 9:59I'm not going to. I'm going to do 1 winner, one
- 10:01loser because I agree with like everybody else on the panel, 1
- 10:05winner for me. Oklahoma City Thunder re signed
- 10:09Chet, you re signed Chet, you re signed Dub.
- 10:11You just won a chip. I think that's a win and a
- 10:14loser. Actually.
- 10:16I'm not. You guys covered all the losers
- 10:17for me. One more winner, I'm going to
- 10:19shout them out. The New York Knicks filled out a
- 10:21lot of their depth, Jordan Clarkson, Yabaselli, and they
- 10:26keep the same starting 5. So I think they're looking
- 10:30better with the depth now because they haven't had a bench
- 10:32in 45 years. You got it.
- 10:34You got them into the coach change 40.
- 10:36Five years. Yeah.
- 10:38And we'll see about that. All right.
- 10:41Well, let's go ahead and move on to our second topic of the day.
- 10:45Joe, you are up with your topics.
- 10:47Let's hear it. Yeah, my topic is going to be
- 10:49ranking your favorite Oklahoma City Thunder team out of the
- 10:542025 team, the 2015 Sixteen team, and then the 2012 team
- 11:00originally. You know, it's super easy for me
- 11:02to say, oh, my favorite's the championship winner.
- 11:04I'm an odd man out. I think I enjoyed watching the
- 11:101516 season and the playoff run better just because this OKC
- 11:16team was expected to win this out of me.
- 11:20From my from my perspective, I think OKC in 2025 was, you know,
- 11:26they were favored in every game they played.
- 11:28So they got it done good as they should for 1516.
- 11:33I mean, I think beating the Spurs was incredible.
- 11:36They only lost like a handful of games at home that season, like
- 11:40a handful. And then for them to go in and
- 11:43beat the Spurs and 6 was fantastic.
- 11:49And then obviously that Warrior series, I mean, it was a good
- 11:51series. Obviously they blew it.
- 11:52But I mean, again, a 73 team, 73 win team and you take them to
- 11:58seven, you win the, you know, three out of the first form.
- 12:01That was a great season. And then I'm going to put 2012
- 12:04last just because it was probably one of the better
- 12:11seasons in Oklahoma City Thunder history.
- 12:14But for them to make it to the finals and then just get
- 12:19absolutely clobbered by Miami and five the first game they
- 12:25won, but then the rest were not so close.
- 12:28So I'm I'm in my order, my favorite all time teams
- 12:321516252012. Oh, man, can I, can I hop into
- 12:43the conversation real quick, Joe?
- 12:45All right, I got to go with 2012 as my favorite, even though I'd
- 12:52obviously despise KD probably the most on the panel.
- 12:56But for me, like that got me into basketball, that got me
- 12:59into watching Russell Westbrook. And I don't know, just the
- 13:05passion that I have now comes from that team.
- 13:08And then I'm going to go with this past season, this 25 team,
- 13:13and then I'm going to go with the 1516 season.
- 13:18I still can't get over the heartbreak even after the
- 13:20championship so. Yeah, I mean, I could agree with
- 13:23that. You can't really go wrong with
- 13:24these three teams. These probably are the three
- 13:25best teams in Oklahoma City Thunder history.
- 13:27Anyway, what kind of another thing that pulls me to 1516 is
- 13:33the role players. I have so much love for those
- 13:35role players and it's Cantor, one of my favorites.
- 13:38I love Dion Waiters. I know a lot of you guys have
- 13:40different thoughts on him. Andre Roberson, fantastic
- 13:44defender, one of my favorites. So a lot of players on that
- 13:47team. I just, I wish they got it done.
- 13:49But I, I think I enjoyed watching that season.
- 13:52Probably the best. Yeah, I mean, just to give my
- 13:56input real quick, I got number one was for me 2025.
- 14:00I mean, this was the I've I've been an invested fan my whole
- 14:03life, but this year it was like it was determining the outcome
- 14:07of my week if we won or lost the game and and that was dangerous,
- 14:09but this was a good year to win it all best.
- 14:12I mean it, it feels like a default answer, but you know,
- 14:15you win that, you win the chip, it's going to be, it's going to
- 14:17be one of the best moments. Second, I had 2012 savvy really
- 14:21nailed it on the head with saying that was like kind of the
- 14:24real beginning of that deep love for for Ross especially.
- 14:28I mean, watching, just watching that team, loving Katie at the
- 14:31time was just so meaningful. It was, it was so much more than
- 14:34just watching a basketball team, you know, and then 2016 in the
- 14:37back. It's hard to pick, but it's just
- 14:40and to me and I, I get what you're saying, Joe, I, I, I love
- 14:43the role players. I, I love all that too, but
- 14:45those other two, I mean, comparing it to the team that
- 14:48won it all and then the team that really kind of started my,
- 14:51my deep love for this team, you know, 16 just ended up in the
- 14:54back. Yeah, I mean, I listen, I can
- 14:58agree with that too. Another reason why like I can't
- 15:02stress this enough and and the way my brain works, the wins
- 15:07against San Antonio and Golden State, being underdogs felt.
- 15:12I know we want to chip, but they felt so good compared to when we
- 15:16lost to Indiana a few times, knowing that we were 10 times
- 15:19better. And then when we beat Indiana, I
- 15:23was like, OK, it's done. They did it very happy, but it
- 15:27should have been done a long time ago.
- 15:29That's kind of like another thing.
- 15:30I'll definitely give you it for especially San Antonio BD San
- 15:33Antonio, it literally felt like we just I mean, it was like
- 15:36David versus Goliath felt like we just took down.
- 15:38I mean that that was something different, but I don't know, I I
- 15:41get what you're saying. It was very frustrating watching
- 15:43us drop some of those Pacers games, but the second that Game
- 15:477 was over, it was like, this is what I've been being a sports
- 15:51fan for for my entire life. It's like this moment.
- 15:53So, but I get what you're saying it, it was really frustrating.
- 15:56Not just like taking out that team in four because obviously
- 16:00you're like, we're the better team, you know, but that's
- 16:02another thing is people aren't respecting that patriots team
- 16:04enough. I I understand they weren't like
- 16:05loaded, but they were taking down team after team after team.
- 16:09Like at some point, it's not just a Cinderella run.
- 16:11Like at some point you got to respect them.
- 16:13And we, I mean, I, I respected every player on that team and
- 16:18like, we should have been winning more, but they were
- 16:21tough. They they were definitely tough.
- 16:23But yeah, I get what you're saying, Joe.
- 16:24One last one last rebuttal by me here is like you mentioned, the
- 16:27Spurs can't stress enough. I I said that they had a handful
- 16:31of losses at home. The Spurs, they lost one game in
- 16:35the regular season at home one and OKC took two in that series.
- 16:42So it just meant, like, to be able to do that was incredible.
- 16:48I know we won the chip, but like I said, we were supposed to do
- 16:50it. So yeah.
- 16:51I get you, I get you. I have the 2025 champs up top.
- 16:57Sure it was expected expected to some people.
- 17:01Sure we were the favorites. But like still 27 games series.
- 17:05We were on the edge of our seats for that series.
- 17:07I agree with Gabe. I think that Pacers team is
- 17:10underlooked. I think they're a talented team.
- 17:13I think in the future, if a guy like Nimhard or Matheran get
- 17:16shipped off to another team, I could see like a guy like that
- 17:19also become rising to the level that Halliburton and Siakam are
- 17:25on. And then I have 26, 2015, 2016
- 17:31second. I was the happiest guy in the
- 17:35world when that Warriors series, when we were up three, one in
- 17:39that Warrior series, I thought a championship was coming home to
- 17:42OK C And then 2012, I was just too young.
- 17:47Like it didn't really hit me as much.
- 17:49I wasn't really able to experience it as much as I am
- 17:52now that I'm older and actually kind of understand more what is
- 17:58happening. And then I have 2019-2020 as
- 18:01like an honorable mention. I know that's not one of the
- 18:03teams we're going over, but that team, that team was nowhere near
- 18:08expected to be as good as they ended up becoming.
- 18:13Chris Paul on that team. Dennis Shrewder, Westbrook, The
- 18:16three headed monster in the guard spot.
- 18:19That was actually a really good shout out 'cause that was.
- 18:24If not, that's probably like the 4th best Thunder team ever.
- 18:26So great. Great pull right there.
- 18:31For me, it's pretty simple. I got this year, 2025, number
- 18:34one on my list. I mean, I was neither a Thunder
- 18:39fan or old enough to be a Thunder fan when 2012, because I
- 18:42was only 5 years old. I started cool.
- 18:46I started calling myself a Thunder fan maybe 2013 when
- 18:49Steven Adams got there and he really started watching every
- 18:52game, like religiously in 2017. So I don't really have much
- 18:58connection to these older teams. Sure, I said I was a fan, but
- 19:03bit of a bandwagon really. But back then.
- 19:06So I got 2025, then 2015 and 2012, in that order.
- 19:09Pretty simple. But I mean, Gabe, you said that
- 19:13this game seven would have determined your mood for the
- 19:15rest of the week. It would have determined my mood
- 19:17for the rest of the year. Like, I would not have coped
- 19:20with losing that game because, I mean, I got about 30 people who
- 19:25had messages ready to send to me telling me, oh, your team sucks
- 19:28how how you lost. And I was just so relieved when
- 19:32we won. Well, that's a that's another
- 19:34great point. And I know we got to wrap this
- 19:37segment up. That's another really good
- 19:38point. Like the pressure on us this
- 19:40year was insane. Like every game was like, if we
- 19:43lost, why did we lose that game? We shouldn't have, you know what
- 19:47I'm saying? So it's like we didn't have
- 19:48that. Even all the way, even all the
- 19:50way back to the NBA Cup when we lost to the Bucks, they were on
- 19:54us for that. Yeah, absolutely.
- 19:58And all I will add as well, Jack, I would say I was more so
- 20:00implying that the regular season losses would affect my week.
- 20:04If we would have lost in game seven, I probably would have
- 20:06never recovered. I don't know if I would be here.
- 20:08I'm kidding. But like, seriously though, it
- 20:12was just that big and. You kind of mentioned the
- 20:14expectations, Joe. Another thing was for Shay, I
- 20:16mean, capping off the season with Finals MVP, it literally
- 20:20cemented as the greatest season a guard has had that we can even
- 20:24remember. So like it was so much more for
- 20:26the season for and all the players too.
- 20:28That's the other thing. Don't get me wrong, I love the
- 20:302012 and 2016 roster, but the way these guys are together is
- 20:34just so like it. It's like the college team, it's
- 20:37the AAU teams. That just means a lot.
- 20:38But yeah, I mean, if anyone's got something else they want to
- 20:41throw in or we can move on to the next one.
- 20:44Yeah, let's move on over to the next one.
- 20:46Actually, Gabe, I'll ask you this one.
- 20:50So now we just ranked the teams. You have your most exciting
- 20:55players to watch of all time in Oklahoma City history.
- 20:59So let's hear them. Right, so I'll give you guys the
- 21:01the pool first. There's there's five here that I
- 21:04ranked them from so and obviously this is not the order.
- 21:06I'll give you the order, but the pool is J Dub, Paul, George,
- 21:09Shay, Russ, and Kevin Durant. I'm go 5 to 1.
- 21:13You know, save #1 #5 this hurt put in this here, but it's got
- 21:20to be to me, it had to be J Dub. It's just hard because J Dub has
- 21:23so much energy and I love watching him play, but he's just
- 21:27he's younger than than these guys and it was just more of
- 21:31like a I'm growing to love watching him play more.
- 21:34But you know, we're we just weren't not compared to the
- 21:37nostalgia of these other guys. So #4 this might be too low, but
- 21:41I don't care. Is Katie I, I, it was that's
- 21:45again, probably too low, but I will not forgive him.
- 21:48But watching Kevin Durant play basketball for the Oklahoma City
- 21:50Thunder, I mean, you feel like you were on top of the world
- 21:53every time you played A-Team. You were like, no one's stopping
- 21:56him. Like, we have a guy that just
- 21:57can't be stopped. Like he will score.
- 21:59And that was, that was a pretty great feeling that I didn't
- 22:01think we'd ever have again until shaking around.
- 22:04But coming in at #3 for me is Paul George.
- 22:07Don't worry Joe, I'm not going any higher than that.
- 22:10Paul George is always a player. I loved when we traded for him.
- 22:13It was like, it was literally like one of the greatest days of
- 22:16my life as a Thunder fan. I was so excited that we got
- 22:18Paul George. I love everything about the way
- 22:20he played. But then he really elevated his
- 22:22game to a new level with us. He became an incredible
- 22:25defender, the two way MVP candidate, the deploy candidate.
- 22:29I mean, he was just everything you wanted.
- 22:32I specifically think of all the different buzzer beaters and
- 22:34clutch shots. He would hit the Brooklyn Nets
- 22:36game, the Sixers game. I mean, there were so many games
- 22:39where he just came and clutched him.
- 22:40And Ross as a duo was just electric.
- 22:42But yeah, Paul George, number 2 is Shay.
- 22:47It was almost #1 but it's got to be #2 Shay once again gave you
- 22:52that feeling that you have with Kevin Durant.
- 22:53Just a pure score. Love watching him get to his
- 22:56spots. But then number one, the man who
- 22:59made me love the sport is Russell Westbrook.
- 23:02Most electric player ever. I mean, watching this guy play,
- 23:05watching him get a motive after a huge dunk, watching him hit a
- 23:08three and holster him, I mean, everything about Ross was just
- 23:12incredible. So yeah, that that's my list.
- 23:15You guys can either just kind of throw in your own thoughts or.
- 23:18Whatever. Can I say my list real quick?
- 23:22Go ahead. Of most exciting.
- 23:24So I've got I. I was writing it on the side
- 23:27while you were talking. I got Russ at #1, I got Shay
- 23:32Gildus at #2, I got Jalen Williams at #3, and I got Paul
- 23:38George at #4 and not my #5 spot. I've got Serge Ibaka.
- 23:46Bro, you are so stuck in your ways.
- 23:48Man, you are so stuck in your ways.
- 23:53It's just a throwback to Kevin Durant on his on a podcast back
- 23:58when he was done at the Nets and he forgot.
- 24:00As well. Might as well put Xavier Simpson
- 24:03on there while you're at it. Am I forgetting somebody?
- 24:05Am I forgetting? Man, so stuck.
- 24:09Mine. Mine's actually the same as
- 24:11yours, Gabe. Of course, of course Shay
- 24:14delivered us the championship, but just the way the way
- 24:18Westbrook can control us an arena and piss off other teams
- 24:22fans, it was something special. And there was also something
- 24:26about everybody and their mother hating him that just made you
- 24:29love him so much more because it was like the the I specifically
- 24:33remember the now I do what I want video of him in the car.
- 24:36And I mean the MVPC, like all of that, yes.
- 24:39All of that was just like, if you weren't a Thunder fan, you
- 24:42were like, oh God, this guy's the worst.
- 24:44And all of us were like, this guy's the greatest thing that's
- 24:46ever touched this game. Like we were just all over it.
- 24:49So Shay will Shay will never pass him I don't think for me.
- 24:53But I don't get me wrong Shay is.
- 24:55The gap between Shay and PG is giant, so there's a huge gap
- 25:00there for sure. The the Dancing with campaign
- 25:03also stuck with me a lot. Yeah, yeah.
- 25:09Pretty unoriginal. Nope.
- 25:11Go ahead, Jack, Go ahead. My bad.
- 25:14I mean, I got the same list as well for the same reasons, but
- 25:20yeah. I almost put Steven.
- 25:22Out you guys have said it all really, but I was curious.
- 25:24Maybe not. Being.
- 25:27I guess I'll be the one. I mean, I I could be the one to
- 25:32disagree here. Gabe knows where I'm going with
- 25:36this one. Joe.
- 25:38No, no, I mean, I'll, I'll do from 5:00 to 1:00 as well.
- 25:41At 5:00, I'll go. Paul, George.
- 25:44It's actually the same amount of points that he scored in the
- 25:47closeout game in the playoffs, just five every.
- 25:50Time. Every single time.
- 25:52He's. He's he's fit for me.
- 25:54Disgusting. Who else do we have?
- 25:58We have KD, Russ, Shay and Jada. All right, all right.
- 26:01At at 4:00, I got Jalen Williams super young into his career.
- 26:07I think he's going to move up to three very shortly, if not after
- 26:10the next season, but just too young to put him above the other
- 26:15three guys at 3:00. I'll go KD Savier.
- 26:20You mentioned the 2012 team before and now you're just going
- 26:23to throw him out the window? He led you there, man, so you
- 26:25got to respect it at least a little bit.
- 26:27I wasn't talking about the playoff run.
- 26:29I was talking about Russell Westbrook.
- 26:32But anyway, for me, I got, I'll put KD at 3 ups and downs.
- 26:37Obviously he left, but it's been like 10 years, so pretty much
- 26:41over and we want to chip. So I'll give him at 3 at 2:00.
- 26:44I'm going to go Shay. I think it can change.
- 26:48I actually think Shay's the best player on this list.
- 26:51But most exciting to watch is the guy that we all have #1
- 26:56Russell Westbrook. And the key for me is I grew up
- 27:03with Westbrook and I looked up to Russell Westbrook, which Shay
- 27:06is like, he's like my age almost.
- 27:08So I don't look up to Shay Gilders, you know what I'm
- 27:10saying? But as a as a younger guy, you
- 27:13could look up to your, you know, favorite players and most
- 27:16exciting. And Russ was that for me and I'm
- 27:18sure all of you guys. So no, no question.
- 27:22Most exciting ever. Russell Westbrook.
- 27:26I think it's a great telling that we all have.
- 27:28I didn't laugh. That back by Dave I.
- 27:31Knew it was coming. Oh my goodness.
- 27:36But yeah, 55 Paul George, five points, 5 rating, 5 ranking all
- 27:42the same. Yeah, you, you, you said that
- 27:44already. But yeah, it it gets less funny
- 27:47each time, Joe. Guys, I have AI have a quick
- 27:52question kind of on topic with this is I think Shay is going to
- 27:57end up being more hated than that Russ MVP season this
- 28:03upcoming season because like if we thought like the free throw
- 28:07merchant and all this other stuff was bad this season, he
- 28:10has a ring now and there's going to be like he's going to be in
- 28:14commercials where he's probably fighting back.
- 28:17He's already made an Instagram post.
- 28:19He's probably going to say stuff during post games.
- 28:21He's going to start leaning in to the villain arc.
- 28:24We've already seen converse kind of doing that with him.
- 28:27So I think he'll move up to 1 like here soon because he's
- 28:31going to start leaning into that Russ arc of making videos,
- 28:36reacting things like that. So I think that'll help push him
- 28:40up the list. The thing with me is like, like
- 28:45I said, I think Shay's already the best and I think he's going
- 28:47to continue to extend himself as best.
- 28:51But like, I'm never going to see Shay go on a fast break against
- 28:56the Memphis Grizzlies and absolutely just tomahawk that
- 28:58thing and the crowd goes absolutely insane.
- 29:01I'll see Shay do a lot of good stuff for OKC, hopefully
- 29:04multiple championships, but there's nothing more exciting
- 29:07and gets you pumped up than a Russell Westbrook slam dunk.
- 29:10And. Then.
- 29:12Nothing in. Those world.
- 29:14Guys A. Lot of a.
- 29:16Lot of your quote UN quote man, a lot of your.
- 29:17Quote UN quote villains like your John Marantz, Kevin
- 29:20Durants, they try to speak stuff into existence, but then it
- 29:23doesn't actually happen. Shay's don't really like that.
- 29:25He doesn't do the talk until it actually ends up happening.
- 29:29Yeah, that's true. But I do feel like he's going to
- 29:31start now that he has one. He can talk anytime because he
- 29:35always has that to fall back to. But I was going to say his next
- 29:39development, I know Joe's not here, but his next development
- 29:42phase is going to be doing the Tomahawks.
- 29:45Come on, man. I.
- 29:47Don't know man, I. Don't know, it's always going to
- 29:49be the floating two hands. It's not all done.
- 29:53The one that looks like. Who's done?
- 29:55No more rim rattler Shay. I'm going to have to talk to his
- 29:58trainer. I got I got him on Instagram.
- 30:00I'm going to send him Adm. We got to get Shay dunking.
- 30:03Get him, get him, get him working on his legs.
- 30:05Yeah, box jumps all summer, Shay.
- 30:07No more 3 pointers. I'll tell you this, Savier, if
- 30:10he ends up throwing down the Tomahawks, we'll come back to
- 30:13this moment. We'll be like Savier calling it,
- 30:15but I'll be shocked. I will be shocked.
- 30:18Even if he does end up throwing down, we'll be like, man, this
- 30:21is a lot like Russ. Nah, it's going to be the.
- 30:25Shay Gills, It's Alexander Tomahawk.
- 30:29Oh man, that's good. OK, well, let's go ahead and
- 30:32move on to this next one. I think we're all pretty excited
- 30:35for this one. We got Savier, so go ahead.
- 30:37Savier. What's your topic here?
- 30:39Oh, my goodness. Again, Joe's not here.
- 30:42I'm trying to stall a little bit.
- 30:44All right, Perfect, Joe. You missed my other bold take
- 30:47before this one, but my bold take for the 2025 season is Shay
- 30:53Gilda's Alexander Merits Serious consideration for defensive
- 30:58player of the year. So I think because of the fact
- 31:03that he has a lot of eyes on him, he's going to be in that
- 31:07contention. He's he's already, I think like
- 31:10plus 3000 to 5000 according to Vegas odds, which is a long
- 31:15stretch for him. But in terms of guard play,
- 31:17we've already seen him across multiple seasons average the
- 31:21most steals as a guard, most blocks as a guard.
- 31:24But similar to his driving impact in the lane, we've also
- 31:28seen him start, you know, coming on the weak side to help
- 31:31defense. And I think that's the next
- 31:33transition in Shay's game is he's going to understand that,
- 31:37hey, I don't need to score the 30 plus every seat like every
- 31:40single game where it's so easy for him to do the 30 that I
- 31:45think once he starts locking in on the defensive end, I think he
- 31:50can get the all defensive team honors this upcoming season and
- 31:54he's going to turn into a two way true star.
- 31:57He's going to be top ten in defensive rating amongst all the
- 32:00players. And I think he's going to lead
- 32:02the league once against steals and also enter into the probably
- 32:07top five in blocks this upcoming season because he has so much
- 32:11help defense to do. Because that's kind of the
- 32:14position and scheme that Mark puts him into that he has the
- 32:18highest capability. And from like a just a
- 32:21statistical standpoint to make the biggest impact in that way.
- 32:26It won't indicate obviously that he's better than Lou Dort or
- 32:29anything like that. But I think the case will be
- 32:32better for him because we also saw Lou Dort's numbers start to
- 32:35regress with its style of defense, where Lou Dort's role
- 32:39now is just limit the best player on the other team.
- 32:42And it's not really stat based, whereas Shays is a lot more stat
- 32:46based. So I think the case will be
- 32:48easier to make. Him being an MVP candidate will
- 32:52also help his case. Similar to M JS years, MJ got a
- 32:55couple of years of DPOY where he probably he probably couldn't or
- 33:01shouldn't have won in some of the seasons.
- 33:03So he has a lot of like first team all defense as well.
- 33:05So I think for that reason, like the league is searching for
- 33:10their next MJ and this narrative is going to start getting pushed
- 33:14a little bit more maybe if not this season, the next.
- 33:17But I do think like I want to be the first person to start making
- 33:22that like noticeable to everyone and like mention it like steals
- 33:26and blocks, steals per game, blocks per game, defensive
- 33:29rating. His help side impact, his
- 33:32ability to switch. He's like a six six guard that's
- 33:36able to guard all positions. He's starting to guard centers
- 33:39as well in some possessions in small ball line UPS similar to
- 33:43like AJ Dub. His on off plus minuses are
- 33:47always going to be good because he's always going to be around
- 33:49the starting unit. Whereas J Dub can't really get
- 33:52that advanced stat because he's sometimes with the second unit.
- 33:55So there's a lot of cases from all kind of ends to help his
- 34:02case here. But he has 1.5% chance of even
- 34:06getting it. And obviously Lou Dort has a
- 34:09little bit better chance on the same team, but I think he can
- 34:13edge it out as a guard because outside of him, Lou Dort and
- 34:18Dyson Daniels, those are probably going to be the three
- 34:21front runners as guards for DPOY.
- 34:22And I don't really see maybe outside of like if Wemby doesn't
- 34:28have a healthy season again or something like that and he
- 34:30doesn't meet the requirements for games played.
- 34:33I can easily see at the end of the year where they're like, we
- 34:36got to find someone. And similar to like Evan Mobley
- 34:39getting it, Shagildiz Alexander can get it.
- 34:43Can I be the first one here? Go ahead.
- 34:46If that is ever right, ever, I will like, let's, let's just
- 34:53make it like I'll shave my head, I'll shave, I'll shave
- 34:56everything on my body. If that's ever right, I'll be
- 34:59scared. I will be hairless from top to
- 35:01bottom, top to bottom. I, I like, I like you giving him
- 35:08his props. He was fantastic defensively,
- 35:12but there's three other guys on the team that will get a DPOI
- 35:15Before he would maybe 4, maybe 5.
- 35:19Chet Dort, J Dub, Caruso Cason. All better defenders to me but
- 35:26you. You.
- 35:27You make a good point with the stats cause Shay does get the
- 35:30most steals and the most blocks but I don't think that'll ever
- 35:34happen and and the hate the hate on Shay it's just not going to
- 35:38be allowed to happen. Silver stated that they watch or
- 35:43read a lot into social media. Do you think he's going to ever
- 35:46let Shay get a DPOY go? Ahead, Landon, I'll rebuttal
- 35:52out. I was going to say if I was to
- 35:54place my money, if. Today if I was to place money.
- 35:56On two guys, it'd be Victor Wimbignama and it would be Amin
- 35:59Thompson. That would be my two guys.
- 36:03I think you can. Beat out Amin.
- 36:04Thompson because I think that team defense is going to be a
- 36:07lot less great without Dylan Brooks, and adding KD makes the
- 36:13defense worse as well. At his age right now, that's
- 36:16just like objectively kind of a fact.
- 36:19So I think a men's case is not going to be as good and.
- 36:23Maybe they won't. Win as many games as OK CI think
- 36:26winning always has a big factor and the fact that one Wimby
- 36:30injury led to Evan Mobley getting it as a first seeded
- 36:33player when he was in contention with Draymond and Draymond was
- 36:37nowhere close and Lou Dort was in that race.
- 36:39I think my case for making Shay in there is valid because Evan
- 36:45Mobley's already won one. I think he can surpass Lou Dort
- 36:48on his own team because of the stats.
- 36:50And then this is me counting on the fact that Wimby may not have
- 36:54a full season with the Artie. Another.
- 36:57Another. Thing that are on JJJ will be.
- 37:01Up there too. Jaron Jackson Junior.
- 37:04Yeah, but I think. DPO wise become kind of more of
- 37:07a casual analyst award where they really don't watch the
- 37:12games. Like I've already seen a lot of
- 37:14them have commentary on it and all the voters for DPOI really
- 37:19look at advanced stats, stats in general, and the one guy I'm
- 37:23going to rely on is Shay Gilds Alexander to stuff that stat
- 37:27sheet all season long. I agree with that, I just think.
- 37:30You're I think you're closer to a all defensive team than a DPOY
- 37:35strictly because of the position and the the amount of defective
- 37:40on the team. Yeah, I think.
- 37:43I want to rebuttal your mention of like Caruso and others that
- 37:50are better than him, like defensively, like, yeah, maybe
- 37:53they're better one-on-one defenders, whatever.
- 37:55But from like a impact standpoint, in the amount of
- 37:59light that's about to be shiny on Shay, that's where he has the
- 38:02edge because not the media is what really counts for these
- 38:06votes. And it is a popular contest.
- 38:09So I'm not just saying like Shay's going to be the best
- 38:11defensive player on our team. Obviously, I know our team
- 38:15really well. I'm not making that case.
- 38:17I'm making case for DPOY. No, I can understand that for
- 38:20sure. I agree with the point.
- 38:22About Lou Dodd as well. Because he, the guys just don't
- 38:25even catch the ball when he's defending them.
- 38:27They just run to the corner and you know, you got it.
- 38:30So he, he'll never have the stats, but we know he's the best
- 38:34defender. So yeah, I, I see where you're
- 38:37coming from. But yeah, I don't think Crusoe
- 38:41plays enough. And then on top of the fact that
- 38:45I just don't think they'll give it the check in my opinion on
- 38:49this team because his impact is more advanced stats and eye
- 38:53test. So the best guy that has the
- 38:55best case on the best team is going to be Shay.
- 38:58And the only other guy that could do it is possibly J Dub.
- 39:01But I think out of off all those players, Shay's been the
- 39:04healthiest. So that's another thing that I'm
- 39:07looking at between all the other candidates like Evan Nobley and
- 39:11Amin Thompson or JJJI, think he can also edge them all out in
- 39:16terms of playing 75 games, which helps his case because he's
- 39:20going to get more numbers. But that's that's it for my bold
- 39:25take. Man, Gabe, I'll turn it back
- 39:27over to you. Yeah, I mean, I agree with what
- 39:31you. Were I one thing I definitely
- 39:32agree with what you were saying was about how it's almost a
- 39:35popularity contest at times. That's absolutely true.
- 39:37And that's where I can see that kind of like that mode of
- 39:39getting pushed for sure I was going to throw.
- 39:43In a little a little. Take that I had for next season,
- 39:47I think we'll be the first team since the 20/17/2018 Warriors to
- 39:50have three players average 20 plus points per game.
- 39:53I think Shay is going to average what we know what he'll do, but
- 39:56I think J Dubs going to hit around the 24 to 26 mark and I
- 39:59think Chet's going to come out very similar to that as too as
- 40:03well. I think we're going to be
- 40:04incredible next year and just better than we were this year.
- 40:08And adding on to that, I also think.
- 40:10If we do all this hits and we make the playoffs, I think we
- 40:13win the finals, losing less than four games in the whole series.
- 40:16So fairly hot there. Just complete dominance.
- 40:20But yeah, I I feel like we we're going to be the first team since
- 40:23that team to have three guys in the 20 plus points per game
- 40:25category. I don't mind.
- 40:28That yeah, I mean if yeah, I. Would love that.
- 40:35Mine is I think Nikola Tovich makes all Rookie first team.
- 40:38I think he's going to be lethal with J Dub in that second unit
- 40:42and I think our team compliments his game perfectly, which when
- 40:48he's going to have J Dub, Chet or Shay on the floor with him at
- 40:52all times and that just compliments his play making
- 40:55perfectly. I don't think the Summer
- 40:57league's a perfect fit for his game at the moment because he's
- 41:00playing with players that aren't as talented.
- 41:02A lot of the passes he makes should be assist and I think I
- 41:07think stuff's just going to start clicking for him.
- 41:09Being on a winning team helps and then he also has the kind of
- 41:13has an edge on the current rookies because he had a season
- 41:17to sit back and watch a championship team figure out the
- 41:20insurance and outs of the organization and I think that
- 41:23will work too as benefit. Totally see that.
- 41:29Happening. Really want it to happen too.
- 41:32My ball take is Aaron Wiggins will be the 5th man on this team
- 41:39by the end of the year. So much as a ball take.
- 41:44Also, something I really, really want to happen, but I can see it
- 41:49happening just depending on how our offense is going.
- 41:54Just scoring. He gives.
- 41:57I think he deserves it, but we'll see.
- 41:59And then I also had a bonus one that AJ will become a 7th or 8th
- 42:03man and really be in the rotation.
- 42:06I think he'll be the secondary bull handler over Tobitch for
- 42:12the next year. In my opinion, I think Tobitch
- 42:17won't surpass him in the rotation this year, but I think
- 42:20the next year. Thank you all.
- 42:21They're underestimating him. Man, I got Topich.
- 42:24I'm team Topich. I'm not underestimating.
- 42:27I'm just make me make me a shirt team.
- 42:29Topich, we'll have to get that on the shirt.
- 42:32I'll shout mine out. Real quick, real quick.
- 42:35So. We don't run over here.
- 42:37Jack kind of led him to mine. I was going to go with one of
- 42:41two players. Getting six man of the.
- 42:43Year, it's coming out of Oklahoma City.
- 42:44Next year it's just going to be Aaron Wiggins, but it's going to
- 42:46be Alex Grusso. You can take your pick, but one
- 42:48of them will be the Six man of the year.
- 42:51That's fair. Jack, I had a quick.
- 42:52Question you said 5th man as in like 5th starter.
- 42:57Yeah, me and Joe are just. Trying to get this man to. 6th
- 43:00man at this point man, I know. I know bro.
- 43:04He maybe, maybe. Mark will hear the.
- 43:06Podcast and give him a shout. Yeah.
- 43:08So if I aim for 5th. And then he drops a bit.
- 43:11He'll he'll come to 6th and I'll, I just there you go.
- 43:13Don't know how, don't know. Don't know how he's going to
- 43:16earn that 5th man spot when during the regular season he
- 43:18plays 5 minutes and 10 minutes and 5 minutes again, then 20
- 43:21minutes and back down to 3 minutes.
- 43:24He'll have to make the. Most out of literally every.
- 43:25Single minute just to get even an odd but.
- 43:30Yeah, true. Don't get me sided.
- 43:31On that. I can talk.
- 43:34About it all day. You guess it's on to my topic
- 43:37now, right? Yep, here's the last.
- 43:40Topic here, so go ahead. So there's a lot of talk.
- 43:43About expansion teams, I've seen a lot of salty Seattle fans now
- 43:46that we've won like MMA anyway stuff, then what would happen if
- 43:51there was an expansion? Seattle gets a history back.
- 43:56We don't need it. We've won a chat but we'd have
- 43:59to protect eight players Which? 8 Are you guys protecting?
- 44:05So the way I'd. Assume it works.
- 44:06I'm just going to go the same way as 2K that if if there was
- 44:13an expansion draft, you would protect eight players and then
- 44:18the expand expansion team can select one of those players.
- 44:21So the AI have protected Shay dub chat dot iheart the
- 44:27starters. I think that's pretty given for.
- 44:31My. Opinion.
- 44:32And then I have Wiggins, Cason. Definitely in the top.
- 44:38Seven and then the last part I I've had some trouble filling it
- 44:44out. I was thinking I'd go with one
- 44:46of the the younger either rookies or second years just for
- 44:49the upside. So Sorbet Tobich or AJ in the
- 44:53end. Yeah, I.
- 44:56I'm still a. Little bit undecided, but I'm
- 44:58leaning towards Aja little more as just a backup bull handler
- 45:02seeing as you have more wings and power forwards.
- 45:04But I could understand either Sorbetopic or AJ for that last
- 45:08foot. And then I was just going to get
- 45:10into the guys who didn't make the cut and a bit why.
- 45:15So either Sorbetopic or AJ, the 2 odd men out.
- 45:20It's because the other guys, the young guys to come in, who will
- 45:27and then Caruso. I think he's.
- 45:29Just too odd really. Like you're losing these other
- 45:32players. Like Cason could turn into
- 45:35something, maybe not fully replace Caruso, but his role can
- 45:39increase. Caruso's only really going to
- 45:42regress over the next couple of years.
- 45:44Joe. I said Joe, it wasn't really.
- 45:49In our rotation. Like we can get a better.
- 45:52Shooter than him, I think. Jay Will, I don't think he's
- 45:57good enough to protect really. He's not the top eight player on
- 46:01our team, neither is Django Kenrich.
- 46:02So that's that's about it. Any thoughts, comments, or is
- 46:08this hypothetical? Is this hypothetical if the
- 46:11expansion draft was happening this offseason?
- 46:14Yeah, yeah. OK, I mean, I could go into mine
- 46:19really quick. First off, I would think it's
- 46:22Vegas. I think it's no.
- 46:24No doubt Vegas will have a team sooner than later.
- 46:29My my top eight. You got to keep the starters,
- 46:33Shay Dub, Lou Hartenstein and Chet.
- 46:37And then my three off the bench. I'm keeping Aaron Wiggins the
- 46:406th man of the year. Upcoming I'm keeping Alex Caruso
- 46:46for a veteran leadership over Cason he's still got.
- 46:51Years left on his deal I'm. Keeping crew.
- 46:53So he was way too important last year and I still want to win
- 46:55again this year and I'm keeping J Will.
- 47:00I'm keeping J Will because we need our glue guy.
- 47:02He is our glue guy. We need our Jokic stopper.
- 47:06Give me J Will 10 times out of 10 you.
- 47:10Know I mean ball board for. J will love Joe, so I'm not
- 47:14there is a chance that. You need a glue.
- 47:17Guy and it's J Will Yeah, but the the chances.
- 47:21Of him returning if you don't protect him is still pretty high
- 47:24because if they choose one player and then the rest come
- 47:27back, you know, I think they choose Isaiah Joe, Alex Caruso,
- 47:32Nikola Tovich maybe over J Will. J will I don't hate it though.
- 47:40I. Don't hate it, Joe.
- 47:43I I can't man. I.
- 47:46Was going to say like you Loki have to protect Jason just for
- 47:52like his contract, his trade ability, he's a easy guy to sign
- 47:57and trade. There's like so many factors
- 48:00with him and he's just so good. It's hard to replace him because
- 48:04Shay and J Dub are primary ball handlers and they're only going
- 48:08to get better over time. Like I'm not always as concerned
- 48:13as like having a toe pitcher Aaj on the team.
- 48:17Like if I had to protect eight people, I'm probably going to
- 48:20protect Sorber so he can come in and be the 8th person so he can
- 48:25possibly replace like an expensive contract in
- 48:28Hartenstein. The guy I'm not protecting is
- 48:31Crusoe due to age and contract size, but everyone else?
- 48:37I. I agree with that gay 5
- 48:43starters. Obviously that's the easy part.
- 48:47My 6th was Wiggins. That one was also a pretty much,
- 48:50pretty much lock for me. Then this was where it was tough
- 48:54was with these last two. I was really debating between
- 48:57Wallace and Caruso. The thing about them is, I mean
- 49:00you guys kind of mentioned it. The hope is that Case and
- 49:03Wallace can become what Caruso is and he's young as well.
- 49:07Caruso on the other hand, brings the veteran experience.
- 49:10He brings a lot to the team as well.
- 49:13Ultimately, I went with Wallace. My 2K mind took over and I was
- 49:16like, got to get the young guy, got to get the young guy, which
- 49:19doesn't feel like I don't know it either way, having to protect
- 49:23eight players and cut the rest sucks because we just love every
- 49:25player on this team. So that really sucks.
- 49:27But and then at 8, I'm actually agreeing with Savier.
- 49:30I went with Sorber. I have really high hopes for
- 49:32Sorber. I I just love everything about
- 49:35his game. As soon as we drafted him, I was
- 49:37excited and for the same reason with the with the unfortunate
- 49:43reality of we are probably going to lose either Dor or Hart at
- 49:46some point in the upcoming years because of these contracts, I'm
- 49:50going to go with Hart's the one we lose and that's why Sorber's
- 49:53here. So having that backup big, he's
- 49:56young, crazy wingspan. I love everything about his game
- 49:59and he's seems like he's going to be that potential glue guy
- 50:02Joe, when he gets older. He's got a lot of personality.
- 50:04I could see Sorber becoming a glue guy.
- 50:08Hope. So.
- 50:10I value winning championships. I value.
- 50:12Winning. So I haven't taken the I'm
- 50:14taking the players that put me in the best position to win.
- 50:17I want to win a championship. I'm taping the I'm taking the
- 50:19double big lineup shade, Dort, Dub, Chet Hardenstein, and then
- 50:24I'm bringing Caruso Wallace and Wiggins off the bench.
- 50:27I want to win basketball games. I want to go win another
- 50:29championship. Sure, if we lose one of the
- 50:31young guys, Topich, AJ, Sorber, that would really stink, but.
- 50:38Fortunate for us, we have about. 20 draft picks to make up for it
- 50:41and go get some more young guys. So I'll take my chances of
- 50:46trying to go back-to-back and put my team in the best spot to
- 50:49go win a championship. And if we lose a young guy, that
- 50:53stinks. But thankfully we have the draft
- 50:55next year and I think we have up to three first round picks,
- 50:59maybe 4. So I think we'll be all right.
- 51:03So do you think just. The difference of.
- 51:05Having Caruso instead of one of those young guys is what changes
- 51:08it from being a championship team, but not a championship
- 51:10team because I have. The exact same list as you.
- 51:13Except you have Caruso and I had Sorber and you were like, I'm
- 51:16about winning, man. Loki.
- 51:18I could agree with Landon on that.
- 51:20The. Winning Caruso, I think we're
- 51:23just good enough that we we win either way.
- 51:25Like, as long as you keep that five and build around it like
- 51:29they're all good, they're all going to help you win.
- 51:31But I want to be in the best. Position to win I.
- 51:35Fair. You only get you.
- 51:36Can only get so many. Opportunities to win NBA
- 51:38championships. I mean, take the Hornets, for
- 51:41example. It's been like 50 straight years
- 51:43and they haven't won a championship.
- 51:45Opportunities like this only come around so much.
- 51:49Yeah, I, I, I can agree with that.
- 51:52My my thought is you just taking the younger guys makes your
- 51:54window bigger. And I know that's what savier
- 51:56was kind of thinking too when he was talking about young age.
- 51:58I don't. I don't think the window's an.
- 51:59Issue We have so many draft picks that losing 1 young guy
- 52:02really wouldn't affect us that much.
- 52:06Fair enough, fair enough. Fair enough.
- 52:08All right, All right. Yeah, I'm going to say well.
- 52:12We can go ahead and wrap up there if you guys are good with
- 52:15that. Obviously, if you guys have your
- 52:18own thoughts on any of these lists, please let us know in the
- 52:22comments. We'd love to hear about it just
- 52:23to hear you guys thoughts on if maybe someone in particular you
- 52:27didn't like their list or maybe you just want to add your own
- 52:29list, go ahead and drop it in the comments below.
- 52:32But yeah, if anyone's got something they want to drop
- 52:34before we leave now just. Again, we just appreciate
- 52:38everybody that watches returning listeners, we'd like to hear,
- 52:45you know, like any topics that you guys want to see, drop them
- 52:48in the comments. We'll make a huge list.
- 52:50We'll get to all of them, mostly all of them hopefully.
- 52:54And then our J dub extension video just dropped a couple
- 52:57minutes ago. So go tune into that.
- 52:59We break down the whole extension between dub and then
- 53:02how that you know how that's going to work for the next few
- 53:04years for the rest of the team. And yeah, man, just that's all I
- 53:09got to say. There we go.
- 53:11Well, thank you. Guys for listening to the
- 53:13episode, make sure you guys TuneIn to the next one and we
- 53:16will catch you guys later.
