- 1:30Speaker 2: if you want 833-501-BAMA Is the number Stop It's What
- 1:35Speaker 2: the Hell Headlines What the hell Are you talking about
- 1:38Speaker 2: On the Alabama show A man got arrested for stripping
- 1:43Speaker 2: naked inside of a home goods store.
- 1:45Speaker 6: What the hell?
- 1:47Speaker 3: It sounds like he just felt at home.
- 1:49Speaker 2: He had to get ready. Guess where this happened?
- 1:51Speaker 3: Was it Florida?
- 1:52Speaker 2: A Florida man, 43-year-old Billy. He walked into a home
- 1:56Speaker 2: goods store, walked up to a lady at the aisle
- 1:58Speaker 2: and looked at her and said, I'm sorry, ma'am, I
- 2:00Speaker 2: have to do this, and then dropped his pants. What
- 2:04Speaker 2: did he have to do? The lady called the cops.
- 2:07Speaker 2: The cops showed up. When they questioned him, when they
- 2:10Speaker 2: arrested him, he said, my clothes and my bicycle started smoking.
- 2:14Speaker 2: His clothes were not smoking. There was no bicycle to
- 2:16Speaker 2: be found anywhere. The lady said, I just wanted to
- 2:19Speaker 2: come buy some stuff. I didn't want to see a
- 2:21Speaker 2: naked man at HomeGoods. And he went to jail.
- 2:23Speaker 3: That's a reasonable response.
- 2:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:25Speaker 4: Why so?
- 2:28Speaker 1: Super easy trivia with the Alabama show.
- 2:31Speaker 2: 833-501-BAMA is the number to call the show. Rebecca, good morning.
- 2:35Speaker 2: What are you doing right now? I'm on my way
- 2:37Speaker 2: to work. Where do you work? What do you do?
- 2:39Speaker 7: I'm a quality engineer at IAC.
- 2:42Speaker 2: At where? IAC.
- 2:44Speaker 8: We make.
- 2:45Speaker 7: interior car parts.
- 2:47Speaker 2: Oh, that's interesting. Do you like your job?
- 2:49Speaker 8: Not really.
- 2:50Speaker 2: I feel like, I bet you work with a lot
- 2:54Speaker 2: of guys that probably get on your nerves. Very much so.
- 2:59Speaker 2: And my boss. Well, I feel you there, sister. Ours
- 3:04Speaker 2: gets on our nerves, too. Rebecca, let's play super easy
- 3:09Speaker 2: trivia to get you tickets to rock the South. I'll
- 3:13Speaker 2: ask the questions, you give the answers. Producer Blake can
- 3:15Speaker 2: be your lifeline if you need him, okay? Okay. All right, Rebecca,
- 3:19Speaker 2: question number one. What colors are the stars on the
- 3:22Speaker 2: American flag? White.
- 3:24Speaker 9: Good job.
- 3:25Speaker 2: Next one. Who was the first president of the United
- 3:29Speaker 2: States of America? George Washington. Good job. And last one.
- 3:34Speaker 2: It's also an America question because we are celebrating the, well,
- 3:37Speaker 2: not celebrating. It's the 25th anniversary of 9-11. It's not
- 3:41Speaker 2: a celebration we're remembering. But last one. What day do
- 3:44Speaker 2: we celebrate Independence Day?
- 3:46Speaker 8: July 4th.
- 3:48Speaker 2: July 4th is correct. Congratulations, Rebecca. You're going to rock
- 4:02Speaker 2: the South.
- 4:03Speaker 8: That's awesome.
- 4:04Speaker 6: I've never won anything ever.
- 4:06Speaker 1: It's three things you need to know with the Alabama Show.
- 4:10Speaker 2: Alabama football is going on this weekend. The Crimson Tide
- 4:13Speaker 2: will play Kentucky at 2.30 tomorrow, and then Auburn will
- 4:16Speaker 2: play Southern Miss at 6.45 tomorrow. So if you want
- 4:20Speaker 2: to watch the football, that's all the times. Cindy Lauper
- 4:23Speaker 2: is going to perform tonight in Disney Entertainment's 9-11 Tribute
- 4:29Speaker 2: Live from Lower Manhattan. That's going to be at 7 p.m.
- 4:32Speaker 2: You can watch across ABC, Disney +, Hulu, National Geographic,
- 4:36Speaker 2: and any ABC-owned television stations. That'll start tonight at 7 p.m.
- 4:41Speaker 2: Apple just dropped the iPhone Duo. Me and producer Blake
- 4:44Speaker 2: were looking at it yesterday. It's the first foldable smartphone
- 4:47Speaker 2: with a 7.6 inch internal display and an external display.
- 4:52Speaker 5: I do like it that it has three separate screens
- 4:54Speaker 5: that all can connect.
- 4:55Speaker 3: That's really cool. It's a cool design.
- 4:57Speaker 2: So what it looks like when you, if it's folded
- 4:59Speaker 2: and you open it, the inside is a big screen.
- 5:02Speaker 2: And then when you close it shut, there's one small
- 5:04Speaker 2: screen on the outside and It starts at $ 2, 000 if
- 5:08Speaker 2: you would like to preorder it. It starts October 16th. Also,
- 5:12Speaker 2: they announced the iPhone 18 Pro, Pro Max, AirPods 5,
- 5:16Speaker 2: and updated Apple Watch model. So if it's time to
- 5:20Speaker 2: update your Apple gear, now's the time to do it.
- 5:22Speaker 2: That is three things you need to know. More at thealabamashow.com.
- 5:27Speaker 1: The Alabama Show on demand, free on the iHeartRadio app.
- 5:31Speaker 2: Good morning, Rob. What's your issue for Ask Alabama?
- 5:35Speaker 9: My wife wants a fourth child and I don't.
- 5:38Speaker 2: Oh, no. That's why we do Ask Alabama. If you
- 5:42Speaker 2: ever have an issue, call the show 833-501-BAMA and we
- 5:45Speaker 2: do our best to help. Or maybe somebody listening to
- 5:47Speaker 2: the show has been through this and can give you
- 5:50Speaker 2: some advice. Why does your wife want another kid and
- 5:53Speaker 2: you don't? What's going on?
- 5:54Speaker 9: We've been married for 15 years and we have three
- 5:57Speaker 9: daughters already. When we got married, I was 21 and
- 6:00Speaker 9: really wasn't ready to have kids that young. But my
- 6:03Speaker 9: wife wanted to have kids, so we did.
- 6:05Speaker 2: Okay. How old are your daughters?
- 6:07Speaker 9: They're teenagers and life is getting much easier because they'll
- 6:10Speaker 9: be out of the house in.
- 6:11Speaker 2: Like the next 10 years.
- 6:13Speaker 9: And my wife is saying she wants to have one
- 6:16Speaker 9: more baby before it's too late.
- 6:18Speaker 2: What did you say when she said she wanted to
- 6:20Speaker 2: have another baby?
- 6:21Speaker 9: I told her I'm done having children and she's threatening
- 6:24Speaker 9: to get a donor and have a baby without me.
- 6:27Speaker 2: So she's saying that she'll go to one of those
- 6:29Speaker 2: clinics and get pregnant and have a baby without you anyway. Oh,
- 6:33Speaker 2: that's that's tough.
- 6:34Speaker 9: I'm honestly at a loss, and I have no idea
- 6:37Speaker 9: how to even handle this.
- 6:38Speaker 2: Let's see if we can get some advice for you,
- 6:40Speaker 2: because obviously if one person wants a baby and the
- 6:43Speaker 2: other one doesn't, that's 18 years of that kid's life
- 6:46Speaker 2: that you're committed to. Has anybody ever been through this?
- 6:50Speaker 2: Call the show, 833-501-BAMA is the number. What should Rob
- 6:54Speaker 2: do since his wife wants a baby and he does not?
- 6:57Speaker 2: And have you ever gone through something like that? That's 833-501-2262.
- 7:03Speaker 1: The Alabama Show on demand. Free on the iHeartRadio app.
- 7:07Speaker 2: Rob and his wife have been married for 15 years.
- 7:10Speaker 2: His wife wants to have a baby. He does not.
- 7:12Speaker 2: They already have two teenage daughters, and Rob has no
- 7:15Speaker 2: idea what to do because she said she'll go get
- 7:18Speaker 2: a donor and have a baby anyway. 833-501-BAMA is the
- 7:21Speaker 2: number if you've ever been through anything like this. Good morning.
- 7:25Speaker 2: Who's this?
- 7:27Speaker 4: This is your favorite.
- 7:28Speaker 2: Steven. Steven, where are you calling from? Yes. Good morning.
- 7:31Speaker 2: Where are you calling from?
- 7:32Speaker 4: The University of Alabama right now.
- 7:34Speaker 2: Roll Tide. What's going on?
- 7:36Speaker 8: Roll Tide.
- 7:37Speaker 4: Just kids going back to school.
- 7:39Speaker 3: I know.
- 7:40Speaker 2: Are you glad?
- 7:40Speaker 4: Speaking of kids.
- 7:42Speaker 2: All right. Tell me what Rob should do where his
- 7:44Speaker 2: wife wants a baby and he doesn't.
- 7:46Speaker 4: Well, Rob needs to see if she will go to counseling.
- 7:50Speaker 4: If she won't do that, he needs to cut her loose.
- 7:53Speaker 4: Because that's too much.
- 7:56Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:56Speaker 4: I mean, and her saying she's going to go have
- 7:58Speaker 4: one without him, that's just so disrespectful.
- 8:02Speaker 2: It's a lifelong commitment. Having a kid is a lifelong commitment.
- 8:06Speaker 4: Tell him to angle it.
- 8:07Speaker 6: Tell him this.
- 8:08Speaker 4: Talk to her like he wants to give the child
- 8:10Speaker 4: they have the best life possible when you have another
- 8:14Speaker 4: child you have to divide that.
- 8:16Speaker 2: Time oh yeah manipulator that's great advice yeah manipulation is
- 8:21Speaker 2: true i know that is steven that i mean that
- 8:26Speaker 2: is good advice because they do already have teenage daughters
- 8:29Speaker 2: and they would probably be like why are y'all having
- 8:32Speaker 2: a baby right now I am curious.
- 8:34Speaker 3: What the kids think.
- 8:34Speaker 4: And they're going to suffer financially because you can't give
- 8:37Speaker 4: everyone everything. The fewer you have, the more you've got
- 8:41Speaker 4: to give those. Plus, we've got too many people on Earth.
- 8:44Speaker 4: What's wrong with her?
- 8:46Speaker 2: That's a whole other rabbit hole. We ain't going down.
- 8:49Speaker 3: I know. You have a good one.
- 8:51Speaker 2: Love you. Love you, too.
- 8:52Speaker 6: Bye. Bye.
- 8:54Speaker 1: It's three things you need to know with the Alabama Show.
- 8:57Speaker 2: There's a $ 30 million Alabama golf house that just break. Well,
- 9:01Speaker 2: it's about to break ground in Irondale this November. The
- 9:04Speaker 2: Alabama Golf Foundation just purchased 80 acres next to Pine
- 9:08Speaker 2: Tree Golf and Country Club to build Golf House Alabama.
- 9:11Speaker 2: It's a hub that's going to house the state's golf organizations. Also,
- 9:15Speaker 2: a new Alabama Golf Hall of Fame construction is expected
- 9:19Speaker 2: to start in November. So if you have somebody in
- 9:21Speaker 2: your life that loves golf, tell them about this. If
- 9:24Speaker 2: you have an iPhone, there is a secret setting that
- 9:27Speaker 2: could save your life. It is a built-in crash detection
- 9:30Speaker 2: feature on iPhone 14 and newer models, and it can
- 9:33Speaker 2: automatically call 911 if you're in a severe car accident
- 9:37Speaker 2: and cannot reach your phone. It, like, knows when you've crashed.
- 9:40Speaker 2: Your Apple Watch can also do that. You can turn
- 9:42Speaker 2: the setting off, but I would keep it on because that's,
- 9:45Speaker 2: you know, it could save your life. Harry Styles just
- 9:48Speaker 2: announced a 2027 Global Stadium Tour.
- 9:51Speaker 3: Yeah, I saw that. He's adding more cities. I'm excited.
- 9:53Speaker 2: Well, he just announced the whole tour. It wasn't adding
- 9:56Speaker 2: more cities. He he announced the tour period and it
- 9:59Speaker 2: is awesome i love me some harry.
- 10:01Speaker 3: I know you love him.
- 10:05Speaker 2: The closest one to us is going to be in
- 10:06Speaker 2: atlanta he's going to have openers like laney wilson tinashe
- 10:10Speaker 2: kylie minogue and tears for fears it kicks off april
- 10:13Speaker 2: 2nd in america.
- 10:14Speaker 3: That's a crazy lineup.
- 10:15Speaker 2: I like that.
- 10:16Speaker 3: That is awesome.
- 10:17Speaker 2: That's going to be good. That's three things you need
- 10:19Speaker 2: to know. More at thealabamashow.com.
- 10:23Speaker 1: The Alabama Show on demand.
- 10:25Speaker 6: Amazing.
- 10:26Speaker 1: Free on the iHeartRadio app.
- 10:28Speaker 2: 833-501-BAMA is the number to call the show if you
- 10:31Speaker 2: have good news. Kelsey, good morning. What's your good news?
- 10:33Speaker 2: What are you doing this weekend?
- 10:35Speaker 7: So this weekend I'm actually hosting my first mom, my
- 10:40Speaker 7: local mom meetup. We're doing crafts and coffee.
- 10:42Speaker 2: Yay!
- 10:42Speaker 7: Yay! bringing coffee and craft supplies, and it's going to
- 10:47Speaker 7: be really fun. If you have any mom friends that
- 10:50Speaker 7: live out in the North Jefferson, Alabama, we're meeting at
- 10:55Speaker 7: the Oak and Ivory venue in Warrior, Alabama at 1030
- 10:59Speaker 7: tomorrow morning.
- 11:00Speaker 2: That's like right up the road for me. Can I
- 11:02Speaker 2: come if I'm a dog mom? Does that count?
- 11:05Speaker 8: Absolutely.
- 11:08Speaker 3: You can say no.
- 11:11Speaker 7: Yeah, bring the dogs.
- 11:12Speaker 2: I love it. The kids will love it. I love it. Kelsey,
- 11:16Speaker 2: thank you for calling. That's great news. Thanks for sharing. Yeah, woo-hoo.
- 11:20Speaker 7: I hope you all have a great weekend.
- 11:21Speaker 1: The Alabama Show, on demand, free on the iHeartRadio app.
- 11:25Speaker 2: It's really weird when you're a radio host to talk
- 11:28Speaker 2: about serious stuff when we do the show like we
- 11:30Speaker 2: do because we do a lot of entertainment. We like
- 11:33Speaker 2: to laugh and play and have fun.
- 11:34Speaker 5: Yeah, but there's also times to be serious. It is
- 11:37Speaker 5: just a different mode that we have to get into.
- 11:39Speaker 2: By the way, thank you for listening to The Alabama Show.
- 11:42Speaker 2: I'm Alabama with Producer Blake. Because we've been talking this
- 11:44Speaker 2: morning about today's the 25th anniversary of 9-11. And our
- 11:48Speaker 2: boss yesterday was like, are y'all going to talk about
- 11:51Speaker 2: it on the show? And at first I was like, no,
- 11:54Speaker 2: because we could entertain or whatever. But he was like,
- 11:56Speaker 2: why don't you ask Producer Blake? And I did not
- 11:59Speaker 2: even think of this because Producer Blake and I have
- 12:02Speaker 2: an age gap. Like when 9-11 happened, I was in
- 12:06Speaker 2: high school. I was in 11th grade and I was
- 12:08Speaker 2: in my chemistry class. And you were, how old were you, two?
- 12:11Speaker 5: Yeah, I was two or three, and I was at
- 12:15Speaker 5: my grandparents' house during the time, yeah.
- 12:17Speaker 2: Yeah, you'd have been two because you're 27 now.
- 12:19Speaker 3: Yeah, you were two. I was turning three that month, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 12:23Speaker 6: So, um.
- 12:25Speaker 2: Our boss brought up a really good point because I
- 12:28Speaker 2: remember it. But what were you taught in school about 9-11?
- 12:33Speaker 2: Because you were a baby when it happened. So what
- 12:35Speaker 2: did you learn when you were in high school about it?
- 12:37Speaker 5: So we just go over the like photo evidence of it.
- 12:41Speaker 5: We would go over the like importance of what the
- 12:45Speaker 5: political climate was of the time. Like what was going
- 12:50Speaker 5: on overseas, who the president was, why we were assuming
- 12:54Speaker 5: who did it.
- 12:55Speaker 2: Stuff like that. So what was crazy for us, I
- 12:57Speaker 2: was in 11th grade and we were in my chemistry class.
- 13:00Speaker 2: And it was like, I remember it being like 9 a.m.
- 13:03Speaker 2: in the morning. So it was the second class of
- 13:05Speaker 2: the day. And they were like, somebody came into our
- 13:09Speaker 2: classroom and told our teacher to turn the news on.
- 13:12Speaker 2: So we turned the news on and we're watching. And
- 13:14Speaker 2: one plane had already hit the Twin Towers. But as
- 13:17Speaker 2: we're watching the news live, all of a sudden, a
- 13:21Speaker 2: second plane comes in and hits. And we're all like, oh. Oh,
- 13:24Speaker 2: my God. What's that? That was when we realized that
- 13:28Speaker 2: this was not just a one accident with one plane,
- 13:31Speaker 2: that it was a terrorist attack. And then then I
- 13:34Speaker 2: think a little bit after that, there was a plane
- 13:37Speaker 2: going towards the Pentagon. And it was definitely like that
- 13:42Speaker 2: was kind of when at school we were all freaking
- 13:44Speaker 2: out going, what is happening? Is this going to happen
- 13:46Speaker 2: all over the country? Are we going to get are
- 13:49Speaker 2: we going to get, you know, something to happen where
- 13:52Speaker 2: we're at at schools. It was, it was really freaky.
- 13:56Speaker 5: I couldn't imagine being old enough to witness what was
- 13:59Speaker 5: going on and being calm.
- 14:01Speaker 3: Like that's a, that's a big deal. That's huge.
- 14:04Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 14:04Speaker 2: And I don't think anybody was calm. I think the
- 14:06Speaker 2: whole country, cause we didn't know what was going on
- 14:07Speaker 2: and we were all scared and like everybody wanted to
- 14:09Speaker 2: get home. And I think we stayed at school. I'm
- 14:12Speaker 2: pretty sure we stayed in school all day. Class didn't
- 14:15Speaker 2: let out early, but it was like, all I wanted
- 14:17Speaker 2: to do was go home and, and, get home and
- 14:19Speaker 2: make sure we were going to be okay. It was
- 14:21Speaker 2: almost kind of like, you know how you imagine how
- 14:24Speaker 2: doomsday or like the end of the world would feel?
- 14:26Speaker 2: There was definitely a moment when that was going on
- 14:28Speaker 2: of like, is this going to be like... Is this it?
- 14:32Speaker 2: Is this a doomsday? Yeah.
- 14:34Speaker 3: How could you not? It's a scary situation.
- 14:36Speaker 2: Call the show. 833-501-BAMA is the number if you want
- 14:40Speaker 2: to talk about it. Where were you when it happened?
- 14:43Speaker 2: What do you remember if your kids are young and
- 14:46Speaker 2: they don't remember it? What do you... say to them
- 14:49Speaker 2: about it? How do you teach them about it? 833-501-BAMA
- 14:52Speaker 2: is the number. That's 833-501-2262. The Alabama Show.
- 14:56Speaker 1: On demand, free on the iHeartRadio app.
- 15:01Speaker 2: 833-501-BAMA is the number to call the show if you
- 15:04Speaker 2: want to talk about where you were during 9-11. Tracy,
- 15:07Speaker 2: good morning. What was going on in your world that day?
- 15:10Speaker 6: I was working for Fontaine International as a receptionist. I
- 15:14Speaker 6: had just unlocked the door and my radio that was
- 15:18Speaker 6: on my desk that I was allowed to have started
- 15:20Speaker 6: talking about the attack.
- 15:22Speaker 2: Okay.
- 15:22Speaker 6: So I walked around the corner out of my office
- 15:25Speaker 6: into the president's office and I said, there's something going
- 15:27Speaker 6: on here in the United States. You guys need to
- 15:29Speaker 6: turn your radio on or something. And he went and
- 15:32Speaker 6: got a TV and put it in his office and
- 15:34Speaker 6: we were all allowed to go in there periodically and
- 15:37Speaker 6: watch it.
- 15:38Speaker 8: That was a crazy day.
- 15:39Speaker 2: It was a very crazy day. I can imagine that's
- 15:43Speaker 2: got to be wild being the person that has to
- 15:46Speaker 2: go around and tell everybody, hey, turn on your TV.
- 15:49Speaker 2: Something's happening.
- 15:50Speaker 6: Well, a lot of us didn't have TVs in the office.
- 15:52Speaker 6: We just had phones.
- 15:53Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 15:53Speaker 6: The president had the TV in there because he used
- 15:56Speaker 6: it for meetings and stuff that he had videos and stuff.
- 15:59Speaker 6: that kind of stuff on.
- 16:00Speaker 2: That makes sense. Tracy, thank you for sharing your story
- 16:03Speaker 2: about where you were on 9-11. We are talking about
- 16:06Speaker 2: the 25th anniversary we're remembering today. If you want to
- 16:10Speaker 2: call the show and talk about it, you are more
- 16:12Speaker 2: than welcome. 833-501-BAMA is the number.
- 16:16Speaker 1: You're listening to The Alabama Show On Demand.
- 16:21Speaker 2: 833-501-BAMA is the number to call the show. We're remembering 9-11,
- 16:25Speaker 2: and today is the 25th anniversary, which is so crazy
- 16:28Speaker 2: that it's been that long ago. If you want to
- 16:30Speaker 2: call and talk about it. Jennifer, good morning. Where are
- 16:32Speaker 2: you calling from?
- 16:33Speaker 7: From Birmingham. Awesome.
- 16:35Speaker 5: Oh, awesome.
- 16:36Speaker 2: Yeah, you're over on my side of town. That's over
- 16:38Speaker 2: where I live. Are you calling about 9-11?
- 16:41Speaker 7: I am.
- 16:42Speaker 2: Where were you? What was going on in your life
- 16:44Speaker 2: that day?
- 16:45Speaker 7: So I was in fourth grade, and I remember it
- 16:50Speaker 7: very vividly. We were in the homeroom, and they came in.
- 16:55Speaker 7: We turned the news on. We were on lockdown. It
- 16:58Speaker 7: was crazy. And my mom was freaking out.
- 17:03Speaker 8: She came and checked us out.
- 17:04Speaker 7: Of school because.
- 17:07Speaker 8: My dad at the time was in the military, and
- 17:10Speaker 8: there was noise of threat of them coming to Atlanta
- 17:18Speaker 8: and doing something in Atlanta.
- 17:20Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 17:21Speaker 8: It was scary. And me being— I think I was like—
- 17:25Speaker 8: Nine or 10. I don't know.
- 17:27Speaker 6: I don't remember.
- 17:27Speaker 8: It was it was weird, but it was scary because
- 17:31Speaker 8: when I heard like my dad coming in, I was like, oh, God.
- 17:36Speaker 2: What's happening? I can't imagine being the teachers. Like, if
- 17:41Speaker 2: there's a teacher listening to the show that was a
- 17:43Speaker 2: teacher then, because all the teachers, I'm sure, like, all
- 17:46Speaker 2: of a sudden, they're probably thinking about their family, but
- 17:50Speaker 2: they have all these students that they're responsible for, and
- 17:54Speaker 2: all the schools went on lockdown and we were in schools. Like,
- 17:56Speaker 2: I can't imagine being a teacher that day.
- 17:58Speaker 7: Oh, I couldn't either.
- 17:59Speaker 8: Me neither.
- 18:02Speaker 7: And I don't know. I don't understand why, like, being
- 18:05Speaker 7: in fourth grade, why would you sit there and turn
- 18:08Speaker 7: on the news and let us watch this?
- 18:10Speaker 4: I agree.
- 18:11Speaker 2: I think we were just all in shock. Everybody was
- 18:14Speaker 2: in shock and just trying to figure out what was happening. Yeah.
- 18:18Speaker 2: Thank you for calling and sharing your story.
- 18:20Speaker 7: No problem.
