Fire Danger Period off to an early start
That fire weather Queensland and northern NSW have been experiencing is well on its way south.
Rural Reporter Gabrielle Hodson spoke with Victorian CFA climate and fire risk expert Alen Slijepcevic who says the East Gippsland Shire will be the first in the state to enter the Fire Danger Period on October 5 - despite being declared after Christmas in a normal year.
