- 1:09Speaker 1: Hello friend, chaplain Terry Warner, here, are you too busy?
- 1:16Speaker 1: This is Psalm 46, verse 10.
- 1:21Speaker 1: But you know, I took a deep breath this morning and when I exhaled it was September, the 19th, 2025.
- 1:31Speaker 1: I have been so busy in the last part of 2024 and now 2025 that before I realized what had happened, I discovered all at once I had fallen behind, falling behind so much that to catch up requires quite a bit of effort.
- 1:45Speaker 1: My busyness had been so intent that, before I realized it, my alone time with Jesus had become a quick, planned prayer for breakfast, short help prayers during the morning and a pre-planned prayer for lunch.
- 2:01Speaker 1: Prayers must be pre-planned so I don't leave someone out that needs prayer.
- 2:07Speaker 1: The fact that I do it hurriedly or not think about it maybe shows another fault I need to correct.
- 2:15Speaker 1: Then Moore helped me Lord prayers during the afternoon and followed up with the pre-planned supper prayers.
- 2:24Speaker 1: Life has gotten so busy and so political with all that is going on in this world that I find myself struggling to shuffle the day's responsibilities and I wind up feeling exhausted and frustrated.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Luke 10, 38.
- 2:42Speaker 1: So this morning, while doing my morning reading, I decided to slam on the brakes of my hurried and frustrating lifestyle and take a deep breath and use the month of September as the turning point to obtain a closer walk with Jesus.
- 2:56Speaker 1: So my challenge to you is to come along with me on this journey and be quiet and draw closer to God.
- 3:03Speaker 1: You know Jesus never ran to raise anybody from the dead.
- 3:08Speaker 1: He never hurried over to get over to see Lazarus before he died.
- 3:12Speaker 1: It wouldn't have been easier, if we think about it, to bring Lazarus back from being sick than to bring him back from being dead.
- 3:24Speaker 1: I digress.
- 3:28Speaker 1: He knows what I need.
- 3:29Speaker 1: I tell him several times a day, but do I know what he needs?
- 3:33Speaker 1: Does God have needs?
- 3:35Speaker 1: Well, not like me, or maybe like me, but he does have a desire for his children to relax and just dwell in his praise, glory and worship.
- 3:46Speaker 1: 1 Peter 5, 7.
- 3:48Speaker 1: God loved me so much that he sent his son, jesus to die on my behalf.
- 3:54Speaker 1: He gave me everything I need to succeed and live in victory, and I run around in a panic and out of breath trying to please him.
- 4:02Speaker 1: What a screwed up mess and lifestyle I have created.
- 4:07Speaker 1: So today, like I said, I slammed on the brakes, repented and am finding the time to just sit quietly before him for as long as it takes to get back close to him as I once was.
- 4:23Speaker 1: Revelation 2, 1 through 7.
- 4:25Speaker 1: I will continue to read and study his word, continue to stay and say my pre-planned prayers, but then I will also take the time and just relax in his presence and listen to what I have not been able to hear because I have been too busy doing godly things.
