- 0:01Speaker 1: The Blazed and Confused podcast is rated M for marijuana.
- 0:04Speaker 2: No minors, mature audiences only.
- 0:08Speaker 3: I just discovered all these effects on here. It's amazing
- 0:10Speaker 3: what technology can do now. Look, I can sound like
- 0:13Speaker 3: a monster.
- 0:13Speaker 2: Look at that.
- 0:15Speaker 1: Who did never, I mean.
- 0:18Speaker 2: Do the mash.
- 0:19Speaker 1: Look at that, Sam. They did the monster mash.
- 0:21Speaker 2: It was a great deal of smash.
- 0:26Speaker 1: Aren't you glad you're here, Joel? Oh, by the way,
- 0:28Speaker 1: I'm happy to be here. Two Joels on the show today.
- 0:30Speaker 2: Oh my God.
- 0:31Speaker 1: We really confuse everyone by bringing on another Joel. I
- 0:34Speaker 1: thought that'd be fun. So this is, did you want
- 0:37Speaker 1: to be, hey Joel, do you want to be Joel
- 0:38Speaker 1: 1 or Joel 2?
- 0:39Speaker 2: I can be Joel 2 since I'm the guest.
- 0:42Speaker 1: Okay, great. So I'm Joel 1 and you're Joel 2. Okay.
- 0:45Speaker 1: Joel squared. That's not math. That's not the correct math.
- 0:49Speaker 4: Yeah, it is.
- 0:49Speaker 2: There's two of us.
- 0:50Speaker 3: There'd be four.
- 0:51Speaker 5: Oh, really?
- 0:52Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 0:52Speaker 1: Oh, okay. See?
- 0:54Speaker 3: Not a numbers guy. Never was.
- 0:56Speaker 1: Never was a numbers guy. Never going to be. Never
- 0:58Speaker 1: going to be. Two Joels on the show. Joel, I
- 1:01Speaker 1: brought him on because we were recently talking about how
- 1:04Speaker 1: he goes to trivia every week. And I had mentioned
- 1:06Speaker 1: that you host trivia every week. And I thought, man,
- 1:08Speaker 1: you know, Joel is one of the smartest people I know.
- 1:11Speaker 1: He's one of the, seriously, he's very, very smart. Joel 2,
- 1:16Speaker 1: very smart. Joel 1, not so smart. Just for the audience.
- 1:20Speaker 1: Thank you for specifying. So please say hello, Joel.
- 1:24Speaker 3: Hello, everyone. All right, Joel, let me ask you. Do
- 1:27Speaker 3: people ever ask you, hey, is it Joel or Joel? Oh, yeah,
- 1:31Speaker 3: all the time.
- 1:32Speaker 2: Okay, good. I get this question, too.
- 1:33Speaker 3: I mean, it depends, though.
- 1:34Speaker 2: I mean, I grew up in Venezuela, so Joel with
- 1:38Speaker 2: the J being an H.
- 1:39Speaker 4: Oh, wow.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Used to that.
- 1:41Speaker 1: Joel.
- 1:42Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:42Speaker 1: I never get the Joel. I get the Joel once
- 1:46Speaker 1: in a while.
- 1:46Speaker 3: Yeah, occasionally.
- 1:47Speaker 2: I dated a girl for a little while whose name
- 1:49Speaker 2: was Joel.
- 1:51Speaker 1: Joel and Joel.
- 1:52Speaker 2: Yeah, that was awkward. Not for me or her. It
- 1:56Speaker 2: was only a moment.
- 1:58Speaker 1: In the very beginning when somebody's addressing either one of you,
- 2:00Speaker 1: you had to be like, no, it's not for me.
- 2:02Speaker 2: Well, nobody called her Joel. Everybody knew her as Joel.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Well, I'm saying the beginning part of the, you know, Joel.
- 2:08Speaker 2: Well, I had a couple friends call me Joel once
- 2:11Speaker 2: because that's how he knew me. And then My other
- 2:14Speaker 2: friends were like, Joel?
- 2:17Speaker 1: Hope everyone could follow along. Joel 2. We'll figure it out.
- 2:19Speaker 1: He's talking now. Say, hi, Joel 1.
- 2:21Speaker 3: Hello.
- 2:22Speaker 1: And I'm Becker. I'm the only Becker.
- 2:24Speaker 2: You know, my.
- 2:25Speaker 3: Response when somebody says, is it Joel or Joel? For
- 2:29Speaker 3: a long time, I used to say, do I look
- 2:31Speaker 3: like a Joel? But now I think that might be
- 2:33Speaker 3: kind of like a little bit by 2026 standards.
- 2:35Speaker 6: Shh.
- 2:37Speaker 1: It's like asking to be canceled, you know?
- 2:39Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:39Speaker 1: So I should probably not say that. Let's not say that. Okay. Yeah.
- 2:43Speaker 2: I got to come up with a new kicker.
- 2:44Speaker 1: I knew when my friend Joel too said he was
- 2:47Speaker 1: from Venezuela, you had something in your mind. Well, I
- 2:50Speaker 1: didn't have anything in my mind.
- 2:52Speaker 2: I did not.
- 2:53Speaker 1: All right.
- 2:54Speaker 3: I did think Venezuela, don't we like own them now
- 2:56Speaker 3: or something? Oh, they are just their oil.
- 2:58Speaker 2: Just their oil.
- 2:59Speaker 1: That's what we're taking a bunch of oil from Venezuela.
- 3:02Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 3:02Speaker 3: Are we taking it or is someone else taking it? No,
- 3:05Speaker 3: this is supposed to be like historic. We're taking like
- 3:07Speaker 3: a ridiculous amount of oil from Venezuela. But however, they
- 3:10Speaker 3: were saying on the news today, though, that the oil
- 3:12Speaker 3: from Venezuela is like, for lack of a better term,
- 3:17Speaker 3: all fucked up.
- 3:18Speaker 4: Right.
- 3:18Speaker 3: So like you got to like take the oil and
- 3:20Speaker 3: like really fuck with it until you can do anything
- 3:22Speaker 3: with it.
- 3:22Speaker 1: So it really solves no problem.
- 3:24Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 3:25Speaker 1: It really does not solve much of a problem. Now,
- 3:27Speaker 1: we're not a political podcast by any means. We are not.
- 3:30Speaker 3: I think we should start a new feature, though. We
- 3:32Speaker 3: should call it old news, like news from a few
- 3:35Speaker 3: months ago. Okay.
- 3:36Speaker 1: That's still funny because I have a few things.
- 3:38Speaker 2: All right. Okay.
- 3:39Speaker 1: You want to do the first one today? I think
- 3:41Speaker 1: we should do the first one today.
- 3:42Speaker 2: All right.
- 3:42Speaker 3: Since we don't.
- 3:43Speaker 1: Have an official iHeartRadio voice guy anymore, do you want
- 3:46Speaker 1: to have our guests do our feature things? Can we
- 3:48Speaker 1: do something like that?
- 3:49Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 3:49Speaker 3: Joel, why don't you say something like... old news like
- 3:53Speaker 3: sing that oh he's a singer both of my friends
- 3:56Speaker 3: are singers by the way joel too you sing yeah but.
- 3:59Speaker 2: Not improv not usually just just be like old news old.
- 4:04Speaker 6: News watch this old news look at this it's news
- 4:11Speaker 6: that's old this clip that i'm about to play it
- 4:13Speaker 6: is actually six years old but i find it very
- 4:17Speaker 6: very very funny And I feel like I need to
- 4:19Speaker 6: play it for you.
- 4:20Speaker 3: So it's incredibly old news. It was six years ago,
- 4:22Speaker 3: but it's still very funny. All right, let's do it.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Okay.
- 4:25Speaker 5: When young Americans experience the breathtaking beauty of the Grand Canyon,
- 4:30Speaker 5: when they gaze upon Yosemites, Yosemites towering sequoias.
- 4:36Speaker 2: Yosemites towering sequoias.
- 4:39Speaker 1: All right. Episode 64. Episode 64.
- 4:42Speaker 2: Probably why he's selling part of a, Yosemite now. Are
- 4:47Speaker 2: we selling part of Yosemite?
- 4:49Speaker 3: He sure is.
- 4:50Speaker 2: Oh, I didn't know about that.
- 4:51Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 4:51Speaker 1: That's right.
- 4:52Speaker 3: They're going to like log and stuff, right?
- 4:54Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 4:54Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:54Speaker 1: They're going to what and stuff?
- 4:56Speaker 9: Log.
- 4:57Speaker 1: They're going to start logging. Logging what?
- 5:00Speaker 2: Yosemite trees.
- 5:01Speaker 1: And we're going to take the trees.
- 5:03Speaker 2: The natural resources.
- 5:04Speaker 3: Yep.
- 5:04Speaker 1: Oh man. Really? Yep. Part of it. Oh geez. I
- 5:07Speaker 1: didn't know.
- 5:07Speaker 3: All right. Well, you guys are ruining my, my new feature,
- 5:09Speaker 3: which is called old news. Now it's called sad news.
- 5:12Speaker 2: I have another thing.
- 5:13Speaker 1: I have another thing for old news. What else you got?
- 5:16Speaker 3: This was about a month ago. I mean, farts will
- 5:19Speaker 3: never not be funny, right? I fart, you fart, we
- 5:22Speaker 3: all fart.
- 5:22Speaker 1: Listen to this. This is Chuck Schumer talking on the something, something.
- 5:26Speaker 1: Chuck Schumer.
- 5:27Speaker 3: Listen.
- 5:28Speaker 10: We need a complete investigation that's independent. Now on Iran
- 5:34Speaker 10: and the NDAA, when all the Trump administration... Complete investigation
- 5:39Speaker 10: that's independent.
- 5:40Speaker 2: Keep listening. I made a compilation.
- 5:42Speaker 1: Now on Iran and the NDAA....
- 5:44Speaker 10: When all the Trump administration... Now on Iran and the NDAA.
- 5:50Speaker 10: When all the Trump administration... When all the Trump administration.
- 5:55Speaker 1: This is a really mature show. You're going to like it.
- 5:59Speaker 1: Episode 64, Blazing Confused. Let's do this. Before I press
- 6:04Speaker 1: the open button, you didn't let me finish.
- 6:05Speaker 2: Oh, I'm sorry. Go ahead.
- 6:06Speaker 1: Yeah, well, TMZ caught up with him and asked him, listen.
- 6:09Speaker 3: Senator Jacob with TMZ, did you fart yesterday on the
- 6:12Speaker 3: Senate floor?
- 6:15Speaker 2: What's his answer?
- 6:15Speaker 1: He didn't answer. Oh, man. He pled the fifth.
- 6:20Speaker 2: Look at that. We started a new feature, old news.
- 6:23Speaker 2: That was a month ago.
- 6:24Speaker 1: Yeah. That's old, but fucking funny.
- 6:27Speaker 3: Really, really good idea. I mean, I wonder, though, like
- 6:30Speaker 3: in all seriousness, I wonder if that was really a fart. Like,
- 6:34Speaker 3: was it a fart or was that like, you know,
- 6:36Speaker 3: somebody closing a door or something?
- 6:38Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 6:39Speaker 1: And sometimes you have mouth noises and throat noises. I
- 6:42Speaker 1: don't think that was a mouth noise, though.
- 6:44Speaker 3: That didn't sound like a mouth noise. I do think
- 6:46Speaker 3: in this situation, as much as I want to believe
- 6:48Speaker 3: that that was a fart, it does sound a little far-fetched.
- 6:52Speaker 1: Or fart-fetched.
- 6:52Speaker 2: Let's take a vote.
- 6:53Speaker 1: Joel, too, what do you think?
- 6:54Speaker 3: Fart?
- 6:55Speaker 1: No fart.
- 6:56Speaker 2: Should we listen again?
- 6:57Speaker 1: Let's listen again.
- 6:58Speaker 10: We need a complete investigation that's independent. Now on Iran
- 7:04Speaker 10: and the NDAA. When all the Trump administration... Complete investigation.
- 7:09Speaker 1: That's independent. I'm going for it.
- 7:11Speaker 10: Now on Iran and the NDAA. When all the Trump administration...
- 7:17Speaker 10: Now on Iran and the NDAA.
- 7:19Speaker 2: I want to say yes, but I don't think it is.
- 7:22Speaker 2: I don't know how Mike would have picked it up
- 7:24Speaker 2: like that.
- 7:25Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know.
- 7:26Speaker 3: It's also timed perfectly, too.
- 7:28Speaker 2: You know what I mean? There's a pause right there.
- 7:30Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 7:30Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 7:33Speaker 2: I don't think he's going, mm, though.
- 7:35Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 7:35Speaker 1: I think it's a door or something in the distance.
- 7:38Speaker 2: Something like that.
- 7:39Speaker 1: That's another feature we can do. Fart or not a fart.
- 7:41Speaker 2: Fart or not a fart.
- 7:43Speaker 7: Oh.
- 7:44Speaker 3: This show is blossoming.
- 7:46Speaker 7: I know.
- 7:47Speaker 3: See?
- 7:48Speaker 1: I'm so proud of us. This is what happens when
- 7:49Speaker 1: you smoke marijuana, kids.
- 7:51Speaker 10: No, no, no.
- 7:52Speaker 3: Do drugs.
- 7:52Speaker 1: I take that back. No, I take it back.
- 7:53Speaker 4: The Blazed and Confused Podcast with Becker and Joel.
- 7:58Speaker 9: The trivia podcast where truth, theory, and THC collide. Let's
- 8:04Speaker 9: spark your curiosity and light up some knowledge. The Blazed
- 8:09Speaker 9: and Confused Podcast with Becker and Joel starts now.
- 8:15Speaker 3: I'm Becker. That's Joel 1. Hello. Joel 2. Hey, everyone.
- 8:19Speaker 1: We got to get a Joel 3 next time. Both
- 8:21Speaker 1: of my friends named Joel don't have jobs right now.
- 8:24Speaker 1: I have a job. Oh, you know, I guess you do.
- 8:26Speaker 1: But you have many jobs. What am I talking about? Yeah.
- 8:30Speaker 2: Joel 2, you lost your job too?
- 8:31Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah. Like four months ago.
- 8:34Speaker 1: Oh, man.
- 8:35Speaker 2: And Joel 2 is a DJ. I do that also.
- 8:38Speaker 1: I'm a DJ. He's a jingle singer. Oh, you sing jingle? Oh, no.
- 8:42Speaker 1: He just did For Us.
- 8:43Speaker 2: Oh, For Us.
- 8:43Speaker 1: That's right.
- 8:44Speaker 2: I forgot. It just happened.
- 8:45Speaker 5: I know.
- 8:46Speaker 1: Short-term memory loss.
- 8:47Speaker 2: I've done some voice work for you, though.
- 8:48Speaker 3: You have?
- 8:49Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah.
- 8:49Speaker 2: See? All right. A well-rounded Joel.
- 8:56Speaker 5: Yes. What?
- 8:58Speaker 1: No, it was just funny to hear.
- 8:59Speaker 2: That's all.
- 9:00Speaker 1: But this is episode 64.
- 9:01Speaker 3: When I'm 64... All right, so, you know, apparently a
- 9:06Speaker 3: few of our episodes are missing on Spotify only.
- 9:09Speaker 1: You have to address this.
- 9:10Speaker 3: So, I've been trying to figure out this issue with
- 9:14Speaker 3: what's going on with Spotify.
- 9:16Speaker 1: I don't know. I was on chat today with somebody
- 9:19Speaker 1: in Indonesia, probably. I don't know.
- 9:20Speaker 3: There he goes again. So, she's telling me, Amy A.
- 9:27Speaker 3: I don't think her name was actually Amy. But she's
- 9:30Speaker 3: telling me, oh, you got to go check your email.
- 9:33Speaker 3: The email address... how stuff works at blah, blah, blah.com.
- 9:37Speaker 3: I'm like, I've never seen this email address. What is
- 9:40Speaker 3: this email address? I've never seen it.
- 9:41Speaker 2: So I don't know.
- 9:42Speaker 3: There's an issue with Spotify, but Spotify is the only
- 9:45Speaker 3: one where like a handful of the episodes are missing.
- 9:48Speaker 1: It's really annoying too.
- 9:49Speaker 3: It is very annoying because they're there on all the
- 9:50Speaker 3: other platforms. If you listen on iHeartRadio, which, you know,
- 9:53Speaker 3: I think you should listen on Apple Podcasts because iHeartRadio
- 9:56Speaker 3: fired me.
- 9:57Speaker 1: But anyway, I'm still working there.
- 9:59Speaker 3: Listen to it. Yeah, but they're not paying you nearly
- 10:01Speaker 3: enough for you to tell people to listen on their app.
- 10:04Speaker 1: Still, I don't want to lose opportunity.
- 10:08Speaker 2: Look at him.
- 10:09Speaker 1: He's such a little goody two-shoes. I'm really not. I just,
- 10:12Speaker 1: you know, I'm trying to do whatever I can. All right.
- 10:15Speaker 2: That's all.
- 10:16Speaker 1: Just doing my thing, man. Just doing your thing, man.
- 10:19Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 10:20Speaker 1: Being a pushover or whatnot. Pushover. That is a good
- 10:23Speaker 1: way to describe it.
- 10:25Speaker 3: I was joking.
- 10:26Speaker 1: Oh, were you? I was just agreeing with you because
- 10:29Speaker 1: it's polite.
- 10:29Speaker 2: No.
- 10:30Speaker 1: Anyway, Joel 2 is one of my favorite people. We've
- 10:36Speaker 1: known each other a really long time. One of my
- 10:38Speaker 1: more intelligent friends, I'd like to think. You're very smart.
- 10:41Speaker 1: I envy that because I am not as smart and
- 10:43Speaker 1: Joel 1 is definitely not as smart. So let's test
- 10:47Speaker 1: you with some trivia knowledge. We've got 10 questions for you,
- 10:49Speaker 1: all varying topics and themes. You get 60 seconds to
- 10:54Speaker 1: try it. You want to do it?
- 10:55Speaker 2: Is it 60 seconds per question?
- 10:56Speaker 1: 60 seconds per question? That would be the whole show.
- 10:59Speaker 2: Geez.
- 11:00Speaker 1: We don't have time for that.
- 11:02Speaker 10: No.
- 11:02Speaker 3: Are you ready?
- 11:04Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm ready.
- 11:05Speaker 1: Let's try it.
- 11:05Speaker 10: The game begins in 3, 2, 1.
- 11:08Speaker 8: All right, Joel.
- 11:14Speaker 1: Which empire built the famous Colosseum?
- 11:18Speaker 2: That'd be the Roman Empire.
- 11:20Speaker 1: The Roman Empire. Yes, yes, yes. What is the name
- 11:22Speaker 1: of Earth's natural satellite? The moon?
- 11:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:25Speaker 1: What's the smallest ocean in the world?
- 11:28Speaker 3: Smallest?
- 11:28Speaker 1: Oh, that one.
- 11:29Speaker 2: I don't know if I know.
- 11:30Speaker 1: Wait. Oh, rapido. Wrap around.
- 11:34Speaker 2: Smallest ocean. Indian? I don't think so.
- 11:37Speaker 1: What's the only mammal capable of true flight?
- 11:42Speaker 2: Oh, the bat.
- 11:43Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:44Speaker 1: What's the highest number that can be rolled with two
- 11:46Speaker 1: standard dice?
- 11:47Speaker 3: 12.
- 11:47Speaker 1: Yeah. How many degrees are there in a full circle?
- 11:51Speaker 7: 360.
- 11:51Speaker 1: Yeah. What's the most common word used in the English language? A?
- 11:58Speaker 3: No.
- 11:59Speaker 1: Which blood type is the universal recipient?
- 12:03Speaker 3: O negative?
- 12:04Speaker 10: No.
- 12:06Speaker 1: What's the term for a species that is at risk
- 12:09Speaker 1: of extinction? endangered yes which fabric was invented in ancient
- 12:14Speaker 1: china silk yeah did pretty well all right oh that
- 12:19Speaker 1: was the wrong one.
- 12:21Speaker 2: So what was the smallest ocean trying to think of.
- 12:23Speaker 1: Oh let's recap mediterranean we're gonna recap we'll go back
- 12:27Speaker 1: joel would you have known this one joel won which
- 12:30Speaker 1: empire built the famous coliseum you got that the roman
- 12:33Speaker 1: empire i like would have figured it out would you
- 12:35Speaker 1: have been tipped off by the empire like what if
- 12:38Speaker 1: they said If they left that out, would that have
- 12:40Speaker 1: thrown you off? The Colosseum, I feel like when I
- 12:44Speaker 1: went to Italy, we were going to do that, but
- 12:46Speaker 1: then you have to sit around and wait all day
- 12:48Speaker 1: to get in there, only to see a bunch of rubble.
- 12:52Speaker 1: You know what I mean? A bunch of rocks thrown
- 12:53Speaker 1: on the fucking ground. You don't really see much.
- 12:55Speaker 2: No, I haven't been there. I've seen pictures, obviously. Anyway,
- 13:00Speaker 2: the Romans did it.
- 13:02Speaker 1: I feel like I would have known that.
- 13:03Speaker 2: All right.
- 13:04Speaker 1: What is the name of the Earth's natural satellite? You
- 13:06Speaker 1: got that. That was the moon. That I'd never get.
- 13:08Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 13:08Speaker 1: What is the smallest ocean in the world?
- 13:10Speaker 2: That was the... Arctic.
- 13:13Speaker 5: Oh.
- 13:13Speaker 2: Arctic. Arctic. I was trying to think of oceans other
- 13:17Speaker 2: than Pacific and Atlantic. I was like, what else is there?
- 13:19Speaker 2: What did Mark say in the show? He said, like, Arctica.
- 13:23Speaker 2: We were like, which one? Or something like that. I
- 13:26Speaker 2: forget what it was. The only mammable.
- 13:29Speaker 1: Mammable. The only mammal capable of true flight.
- 13:34Speaker 5: Mammable.
- 13:36Speaker 2: I like that.
- 13:37Speaker 3: Which mammal was capable?
- 13:39Speaker 2: Why is that? Can you explain that to me?
- 13:40Speaker 3: The bat is the only one that can truly fly.
- 13:43Speaker 1: What, you tell me a bird can't fly?
- 13:45Speaker 2: They're not mammals.
- 13:46Speaker 1: Birds are not a mammal?
- 13:47Speaker 2: They're avians. They lay eggs.
- 13:50Speaker 1: Wait, what are they?
- 13:50Speaker 2: They don't have live babies.
- 13:53Speaker 3: What are they called, though?
- 13:54Speaker 2: Avians? Yeah, they're just avians. I mean, they're dinosaurs, too, but.
- 13:57Speaker 1: What?
- 13:58Speaker 2: Birds are dinosaurs.
- 14:00Speaker 1: Joel, too, you're going to have to get a little
- 14:01Speaker 1: closer to your microphone there. You're a little.
- 14:03Speaker 2: I could do that. What, the birds are dinosaurs? People
- 14:05Speaker 2: need to hear that? You sound so much better. Look
- 14:07Speaker 2: at that.
- 14:08Speaker 1: Yeah, there he is.
- 14:08Speaker 3: There he is.
- 14:09Speaker 1: Very much. Hello, Joel 2. I'm back in it.
- 14:11Speaker 3: Anyway, what's this again? Explain to me why. Why is
- 14:15Speaker 3: a bird not a mammal?
- 14:16Speaker 2: Well, it lays eggs. That's the main one.
- 14:19Speaker 1: So mammals don't lay eggs.
- 14:21Speaker 2: No, they give live birth. No, they give live birth.
- 14:24Speaker 2: That's why humans are mammals. And they have milk.
- 14:26Speaker 3: And they have milk like humans. That's why they say
- 14:28Speaker 3: humans are not the biggest mammal, right? Because isn't a
- 14:32Speaker 3: whale a mammal? Yeah.
- 14:34Speaker 1: The blue whale right there that's the biggest one so
- 14:36Speaker 1: they give live birth not eggs fish give live birth
- 14:40Speaker 1: fish lay eggs well then why are they mammals they're
- 14:43Speaker 1: not they're not but a whale is whales can have
- 14:46Speaker 1: live birth when a whale has gives birth to a
- 14:50Speaker 1: baby whale they they come right out they're not in
- 14:52Speaker 1: eggs or anything.
- 14:54Speaker 3: Wow so i never realized that like in the ocean
- 14:56Speaker 3: you got a bunch of like mammals and not mammals
- 14:58Speaker 3: like swimming around next to each other being all friendly
- 15:01Speaker 3: and shit right Yeah. Yeah. Wow.
- 15:03Speaker 2: Well, some of them hunt each other, too.
- 15:05Speaker 1: Okay.
- 15:05Speaker 5: Well.
- 15:06Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:06Speaker 2: They're not that friendly.
- 15:07Speaker 1: All right. Okay. Well, I take that back.
- 15:10Speaker 2: Anyway.
- 15:11Speaker 1: All that to say, fish are not mammals.
- 15:13Speaker 2: Fish are not mammals.
- 15:14Speaker 3: And neither are birds.
- 15:15Speaker 1: And neither are birds.
- 15:16Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 15:16Speaker 1: But bats are. But bats are, and so are whales. Yeah.
- 15:19Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 15:20Speaker 3: See?
- 15:20Speaker 7: Wow.
- 15:21Speaker 3: So a bat and a whale... Are both mammals. They
- 15:24Speaker 3: have that in common. Yeah.
- 15:25Speaker 2: It's amazing. This is like biology 101. Educational podcast.
- 15:29Speaker 1: I don't have a good history with biology. I am fair.
- 15:32Speaker 1: It was never my strong subject. None of the sciences were.
- 15:34Speaker 1: I was going to say, none of the subjects were either.
- 15:36Speaker 1: Or the maths or the English. And that's why he
- 15:40Speaker 1: doesn't want to do a regular job. He's like, I
- 15:43Speaker 1: don't know any of this shit. No, I'm just joking.
- 15:46Speaker 2: I mean, you don't need to know about bats in
- 15:48Speaker 2: most regular jobs either. It's not that I don't know it.
- 15:53Speaker 3: It's that I don't remember it, but it's like when
- 15:54Speaker 3: somebody reminds me, it's like, oh, well, yeah. You know,
- 15:57Speaker 3: like last week when we learned about eggs, it's like, okay, well, yeah.
- 16:00Speaker 3: Like I knew that when you eat eggs, like you're
- 16:03Speaker 3: not really eating like a chicken. I just didn't realize
- 16:06Speaker 3: it was like, you know, anyway. It's funny to hear
- 16:08Speaker 3: Joel too laughing about what you just said. He's like,
- 16:11Speaker 3: when we learned about.
- 16:12Speaker 1: Eggs, like some kindergarten podcast.
- 16:16Speaker 3: You guys learned about eggs yesterday. Honestly, I think that
- 16:21Speaker 3: the adults out there appreciate the refresher because I think
- 16:24Speaker 3: that there's a lot of people in that category. If
- 16:26Speaker 3: you found some random person on the street and you
- 16:28Speaker 3: asked him, Oh, the eggs you eat in the morning,
- 16:30Speaker 3: what is that?
- 16:30Speaker 1: What are you eating? Nobody would know how to answer that.
- 16:32Speaker 3: Yeah. So it's a refresher to talk to some smart
- 16:35Speaker 3: people that can explain it. Do you remember what the,
- 16:38Speaker 3: what it is? The way that I describe it is,
- 16:40Speaker 3: is wrong, but kind of right in my head. But
- 16:43Speaker 3: it's like, you know, the, like the menstrual, like egg
- 16:45Speaker 3: of the chicken. That's what it is, right? It's like,
- 16:49Speaker 3: instead of the egg, becoming like a real chicken, it
- 16:52Speaker 3: becomes an egg you eat. Yeah. Just like, like a,
- 16:55Speaker 3: like a woman, you know, sometimes like the egg becomes
- 16:58Speaker 3: a child. If you have a baby and sometimes like, no,
- 17:02Speaker 3: you get like your menstrual thing once a month.
- 17:04Speaker 5: Right.
- 17:04Speaker 2: See, so like, that's, I'm not going to comment. That's
- 17:09Speaker 2: how I would explain it.
- 17:10Speaker 3: I don't think that, I don't think that anybody on
- 17:13Speaker 3: the street could explain it any better than that.
- 17:14Speaker 1: Any random person. I think you'd be surprised. You think so?
- 17:17Speaker 4: Yes.
- 17:17Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 17:18Speaker 2: People are stupid, man. Do you agree? I do.
- 17:21Speaker 1: Well, random people on the street. Yeah. Yeah.
- 17:24Speaker 2: But it does depend on which street. There's some smart
- 17:27Speaker 2: streets out there, I think. Not this one.
- 17:31Speaker 1: Joel's more, Joel one's more of a Sesame Street, you know,
- 17:35Speaker 1: that's ABCs.
- 17:36Speaker 3: Yeah. Won't you tell me how to get, how to
- 17:40Speaker 3: get to Sesame Street.
- 17:43Speaker 2: That's still around.
- 17:45Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 17:45Speaker 2: It's on HBO now.
- 17:46Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 17:47Speaker 2: See, That's not right.
- 17:48Speaker 1: It's on HBO.
- 17:49Speaker 2: It's so weird to think about.
- 17:51Speaker 3: So you think that parents go out of their way
- 17:53Speaker 3: now to fire up Sesame Street on HBO for their kids?
- 17:57Speaker 2: It used to be free.
- 17:59Speaker 1: PBS. What happened with that? Anything political happen with that?
- 18:04Speaker 1: How political are we going to be on this show?
- 18:07Speaker 1: This is not a political podcast. We're an educational podcast. What,
- 18:10Speaker 1: it was political that Sesame Street was no longer on PBS? Yeah,
- 18:13Speaker 1: because funding was cut.
- 18:15Speaker 4: Oh, I will.
- 18:16Speaker 2: And that led to... yeah ah okay sad.
- 18:20Speaker 8: News sad news moving on anyway what else did we
- 18:23Speaker 8: learn what else did we learn uh the highest number
- 18:26Speaker 8: that can be rolled with two standard dice that would
- 18:29Speaker 8: be 12 that was an easy one degrees in a
- 18:32Speaker 8: circle 360 what's the most common word used in the
- 18:35Speaker 8: english language i did.
- 18:36Speaker 2: Look this up you said a i said The. But
- 18:40Speaker 2: I was thinking A. That was my second choice.
- 18:42Speaker 1: No, you didn't say the.
- 18:42Speaker 3: I think you said A.
- 18:43Speaker 2: You said A because you got it wrong and the
- 18:45Speaker 2: answer is the.
- 18:46Speaker 6: Oh, all right.
- 18:47Speaker 2: I had it the other way. In my head, I
- 18:48Speaker 2: was thinking it's going to be the other one. Is
- 18:50Speaker 2: the answer the or is it the? You just said
- 18:54Speaker 2: it backwards.
- 18:56Speaker 3: What's the ruling?
- 18:57Speaker 1: Under that one. Okay.
- 18:58Speaker 2: The or the? Depends on the sentence. Yeah, I agree.
- 19:01Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 19:02Speaker 3: The blood type that's the universal recipient A, B positive.
- 19:06Speaker 10: Oh.
- 19:07Speaker 1: The recipient, the donor is O negative. Really?
- 19:12Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 19:12Speaker 1: So you probably got it confused with that, but the
- 19:15Speaker 1: recipient side, AB positive.
- 19:17Speaker 3: The term for species that's at risk of extinction, endangered.
- 19:21Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 19:21Speaker 3: The fabric that was invented in ancient China is silk.
- 19:25Speaker 3: You did better than most of our guests do on
- 19:27Speaker 3: the rapid run.
- 19:27Speaker 2: Yeah. It was very good. Felt so much pressure. I
- 19:30Speaker 2: was sweating so bad.
- 19:31Speaker 1: It's a Joel thing. a bunch of sweaty guys.
- 19:37Speaker 7: Cool.
- 19:39Speaker 3: It's a Joel thing.
- 19:40Speaker 2: It's the pressure of questions being thrown at me. Maybe
- 19:43Speaker 2: this is why I haven't gotten a job. All my interviews,
- 19:45Speaker 2: I'm like, you're asking me too much.
- 19:47Speaker 1: Nah, I think you're doing great. I'm sure you're doing great.
- 19:49Speaker 2: This isn't for a job either. You could be.
- 19:52Speaker 3: A famous podcaster. This is an interview right now.
- 19:54Speaker 1: We need a producer.
- 19:55Speaker 2: Okay, no pressure's back on.
- 19:57Speaker 1: The pay is zero dollars. It's an intern type role.
- 20:00Speaker 2: It's an intern type role.
- 20:03Speaker 3: More than anyone else. That is not a bad idea.
- 20:06Speaker 3: I'm sure we could find a college intern to edit
- 20:08Speaker 3: this podcast. Absolutely.
- 20:10Speaker 1: It's like, yeah, I'll pay you in joints. Shh, don't
- 20:12Speaker 1: tell anybody.
- 20:13Speaker 3: That's not a bad gig.
- 20:14Speaker 2: That's a great gig.
- 20:16Speaker 3: I bet those guys from Penn State would take a
- 20:18Speaker 3: job like that, right?
- 20:19Speaker 2: Oh, man. Anyway.
- 20:21Speaker 3: Hey, speaking of Penn State, I need to press the
- 20:23Speaker 3: next button here because that's going to lead me into
- 20:25Speaker 3: my next thing.
- 20:26Speaker 1: Blazed and confused. Random thoughts.
- 20:31Speaker 2: Penn State.
- 20:32Speaker 1: Never been there. What do you think about Penn State?
- 20:34Speaker 1: I've never been there.
- 20:35Speaker 2: You've never been there either?
- 20:36Speaker 3: Not one time. Okay, what do you think about the whole, like,
- 20:38Speaker 3: Joe Pa, Jerry Sandusky thing? Like, you think that Joe
- 20:41Speaker 3: Pa knew? Should they have taken that statue down?
- 20:44Speaker 1: What do you think?
- 20:44Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 20:45Speaker 1: I haven't thought about that in so long. I don't
- 20:47Speaker 1: remember the specifics, honestly. It's been a long time. So, like...
- 20:50Speaker 1: What a high-profile thing that was, though. That was, like, crazy.
- 20:54Speaker 3: I was on TV all the time.
- 20:55Speaker 2: All the time.
- 20:55Speaker 1: I was in, like, the third, fourth grade. This was
- 20:57Speaker 1: all over the news all the time.
- 20:59Speaker 3: From my understanding, like, Joe Paterno knew that this was
- 21:03Speaker 3: going on and pretty much did everything he could to
- 21:06Speaker 3: like keep it quiet and sweep it under the rug.
- 21:08Speaker 1: And so once.
- 21:09Speaker 3: This all was brought to light, they decided to like
- 21:13Speaker 3: take his statue down. In the middle of Happy Valley,
- 21:16Speaker 3: which at that time was not too happy. I still
- 21:18Speaker 3: don't think it's that happy. Unhappy Valley. Yeah, but they
- 21:21Speaker 3: took his statue down and then like a couple months
- 21:23Speaker 3: later he died. And I remember being in like the
- 21:24Speaker 3: fourth grade and it was like the big debate of, should.
- 21:27Speaker 1: They have taken down the statue? Hell yeah, they should
- 21:29Speaker 1: have taken down the statue.
- 21:30Speaker 3: He freaking knew. So like ever since then, I don't know.
- 21:33Speaker 3: I just have like a bad taste in my mouth
- 21:34Speaker 3: about Penn State.
- 21:35Speaker 2: I just do. I don't know.
- 21:36Speaker 3: It's just, it's hard to be like all rah, rah,
- 21:40Speaker 3: rah Penn State after all this came out, right?
- 21:42Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 21:43Speaker 1: So let me ask you this. Would you wear a
- 21:45Speaker 1: shirt that had Penn State on it?
- 21:47Speaker 4: No.
- 21:48Speaker 1: Okay. Let me tell you a story. I'm going to
- 21:51Speaker 1: tell you a story. Okay. So I go to do
- 21:54Speaker 1: a gig with the band last week. It's like an
- 21:56Speaker 1: hour away.
- 21:58Speaker 3: I'm always petrified when I go to do a gig
- 22:00Speaker 3: that I'm going to forget something, right? No matter what
- 22:02Speaker 3: it is, if it's a DJ gig, if I'm doing
- 22:04Speaker 3: a gig with the band, whatever.
- 22:05Speaker 2: Because it's just nerve wracking, especially when you're.
- 22:08Speaker 3: Driving an hour away because you don't have time To
- 22:10Speaker 3: screw up and forget something and have to turn around.
- 22:13Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 22:13Speaker 3: So now I'm like halfway to the gig, which is
- 22:16Speaker 3: an hour away. And I think to myself, I didn't
- 22:20Speaker 3: bring a change of freaking clothes. I don't have a shirt.
- 22:23Speaker 3: I normally like go to the gig and like a
- 22:25Speaker 3: t-shirt and then I change into, normally I wear a
- 22:27Speaker 3: button down and all these gigs, right?
- 22:29Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 22:30Speaker 3: So then I'm realizing, oh my God, the t-shirt that
- 22:33Speaker 3: I have on right now is a t-shirt that I
- 22:35Speaker 3: bought on the TikTok shop. It's a white t-shirt on
- 22:38Speaker 3: the back of it in big bold lettering It says undiagnosed,
- 22:43Speaker 3: but something ain't right.
- 22:44Speaker 10: Oh, God.
- 22:45Speaker 3: And now I'm starting to think, oh, my God, I'm
- 22:47Speaker 3: going to have to like stand in front of a
- 22:49Speaker 3: couple hundred people and do this gig in this shirt
- 22:52Speaker 3: that says undiagnosed, but something ain't right.
- 22:55Speaker 2: So I'm thinking.
- 22:56Speaker 3: And at this point, it's too far for me to
- 22:58Speaker 3: turn around and go home and get my shirt.
- 23:01Speaker 1: Right.
- 23:01Speaker 3: So then I think, all right, well, my parents are
- 23:03Speaker 3: coming to this gig. Maybe they can like they can
- 23:06Speaker 3: stop at my house. And they can pick up the
- 23:08Speaker 3: shirt and they'll bring it to the show and it'll
- 23:11Speaker 3: be fine. Okay.
- 23:12Speaker 4: Right.
- 23:12Speaker 1: So I called my mom and I'm like, Hey, it's
- 23:15Speaker 1: five 15 at this point.
- 23:16Speaker 2: Right.
- 23:17Speaker 3: The show doesn't start till seven o'clock and it's an
- 23:19Speaker 3: hour away. It's five 15.
- 23:20Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 23:21Speaker 3: And my mom's like, Oh, do you think we're going
- 23:23Speaker 3: to have enough time to like get over there and like,
- 23:26Speaker 3: you know, get to the show? It's like, it's rush hour.
- 23:28Speaker 3: There's a lot of traffic. And I'm like, yeah, I
- 23:30Speaker 3: think you'll be fine. So apparently they tried to go.
- 23:34Speaker 3: But then they got on the highway and there was
- 23:35Speaker 3: too much traffic. So they called me and they're like.
- 23:37Speaker 2: Yeah, well, we can't. There's too much traffic. We're going
- 23:39Speaker 2: to be late.
- 23:40Speaker 1: We can't go. And I'm like, oh, God.
- 23:42Speaker 2: So I just have to wear the shirt.
- 23:44Speaker 3: So lo and behold, they drive an hour away to
- 23:48Speaker 3: where the show is. And apparently they stopped at some
- 23:50Speaker 3: point along the way at a Dollar Tree. And my
- 23:53Speaker 3: mother went into the Dollar Tree and. found a Penn
- 23:57Speaker 3: State shirt that she thought was better than the shirt
- 24:02Speaker 3: that said undiagnosed, but something ain't right. And they brought
- 24:06Speaker 3: this Penn State shirt with them to this show and
- 24:09Speaker 3: expected me to change into this Penn State shirt. And
- 24:12Speaker 3: at this point, I'm like, you know what? I'd rather
- 24:14Speaker 3: wear the undiagnosed shirt. So I wore the undiagnosed shirt.
- 24:17Speaker 3: I figured that's so funny. I wore the undiagnosed shirt.
- 24:20Speaker 2: And I felt like a dick because I.
- 24:22Speaker 3: I wanted to be like, oh, thank you, because you
- 24:24Speaker 3: went out of your way to put a Penn State shirt.
- 24:27Speaker 3: I wouldn't wear that to mow my lawn, let alone
- 24:31Speaker 3: in front of people.
- 24:31Speaker 2: You know what I mean? I don't know.
- 24:35Speaker 1: That's really funny. I'll just say you wore that shirt anyway,
- 24:39Speaker 1: which is really, really funny. Well, again, it was on
- 24:42Speaker 1: the back.
- 24:42Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 24:43Speaker 2: If it was on the front.
- 24:44Speaker 1: Still. I don't know what I would have done. How
- 24:45Speaker 1: many of your bandmates were behind you, though, laughing at that?
- 24:48Speaker 3: Well, as soon as I got there, I'm like, I
- 24:50Speaker 3: don't have a shirt and I'm going to have to
- 24:51Speaker 3: wear the shirt.
- 24:52Speaker 2: And then they're all like, oh, my God.
- 24:54Speaker 1: That's really. So there's a few life lessons in this.
- 24:57Speaker 1: But I think the biggest one is.
- 24:59Speaker 3: Don't buy dumb shit off the TikTok shop because you
- 25:02Speaker 3: never know when you're going to buy the shirt that
- 25:03Speaker 3: says undiagnosed, but something ain't right. And then you're going
- 25:06Speaker 3: to be stuck to wear it at a certain point
- 25:09Speaker 3: when you really.
- 25:09Speaker 2: Don't want to wear it.
- 25:10Speaker 1: You're going to wear it by accident. You're going to
- 25:11Speaker 1: wear it by accident.
- 25:13Speaker 3: The wrong time.
- 25:14Speaker 1: All in all, though, I do feel undiagnosed and something
- 25:17Speaker 1: just ain't right.
- 25:18Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 25:18Speaker 1: But that's a story for a different day. A random thought. Actually,
- 25:21Speaker 1: it's something I witnessed the other day. A manager of
- 25:23Speaker 1: a restaurant came out and my friend ordered coffee for dessert, right?
- 25:28Speaker 1: She's a big coffee fanatic, right? They came out and said, hey,
- 25:32Speaker 1: did you want milk and sugar with your coffee? And
- 25:34Speaker 1: she said, milk, no. Do you have creamer?
- 25:36Speaker 2: And they said, no.
- 25:38Speaker 1: And she was like, oh, I don't want it then, right?
- 25:41Speaker 1: So she changed her mind. But they made it already, fresh,
- 25:45Speaker 1: and they brought it out like two minutes later, so
- 25:47Speaker 1: the message didn't get to the person who was making
- 25:49Speaker 1: it to just hold off on it. So they brought
- 25:51Speaker 1: this coffee out, and she didn't want to drink it
- 25:52Speaker 1: because she wanted it with cream, right?
- 25:55Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 25:56Speaker 1: So the manager got wind of it. Four people are
- 25:58Speaker 1: now involved in this conversation. They're like, we're going to
- 26:00Speaker 1: go check the back and see in the refrigerator to
- 26:02Speaker 1: make sure we don't have cream or creamer.
- 26:04Speaker 10: Right.
- 26:04Speaker 3: And they didn't.
- 26:05Speaker 10: Right.
- 26:06Speaker 1: So the manager came over and was like, oh, don't
- 26:09Speaker 1: worry about it. It's OK.
- 26:10Speaker 3: It's OK.
- 26:11Speaker 1: And he was like, I'm going to go to the
- 26:13Speaker 1: place next door and see if they have any.
- 26:15Speaker 9: Right.
- 26:15Speaker 1: So he went to a neighboring restaurant and asked them
- 26:19Speaker 1: to see if they could help out. And he came
- 26:21Speaker 1: back unsuccessful. And then he went to another neighboring restaurant
- 26:25Speaker 1: and they didn't have creamer either. So then he said,
- 26:28Speaker 1: I'm going to make this right. He went to a
- 26:30Speaker 1: store and got this creamer and came back and my
- 26:34Speaker 1: friend had her coffee. Like she was just not going
- 26:37Speaker 1: to drink it. And they even said, oh, we'll drink it.
- 26:39Speaker 1: Don't worry about it. But this guy was so insistent.
- 26:41Speaker 1: This manager went to three different businesses to get milk
- 26:45Speaker 1: for this customer. It's pretty above and beyond. It was
- 26:47Speaker 1: pretty interesting to witness. Why do they not have Kramer
- 26:50Speaker 1: to begin with? They ran out. Yeah, my friend was like,
- 26:52Speaker 1: why would you serve coffee without a creamer?
- 26:54Speaker 2: You know what's funny?
- 26:55Speaker 3: Every week on this podcast, you come in with a
- 26:57Speaker 3: story about service at a restaurant. Nine times out of ten,
- 27:01Speaker 3: it's about you bitching about the service. This had a
- 27:03Speaker 3: better outcome than most of your stories.
- 27:05Speaker 1: The guy really went out of his way to make
- 27:07Speaker 1: her happy, which was very nice. Didn't have to. Nice.
- 27:10Speaker 3: But she just didn't want it to go to waste.
- 27:12Speaker 3: Anything to get a little cream, as they say, right?
- 27:14Speaker 1: Is that what they say? I don't know.
- 27:15Speaker 2: She didn't want her one cup of coffee to go
- 27:17Speaker 2: to waste? Yeah, really.
- 27:20Speaker 1: She just felt bad. They brought it out in a
- 27:22Speaker 1: French press. I don't know anything about coffee, but it
- 27:24Speaker 1: was a whole thing.
- 27:25Speaker 2: Was this a fancy restaurant?
- 27:26Speaker 1: Not really. It was not a crappy restaurant, but it
- 27:30Speaker 1: wasn't a high level. It was in the middle. I
- 27:33Speaker 1: don't know.
- 27:34Speaker 3: At that point, too, I would have been like, what's
- 27:36Speaker 3: the difference between cream and milk with a lot of sugar?
- 27:40Speaker 1: Milk with a lot of sugar, that's cream to me.
- 27:43Speaker 1: Make your own cream.
- 27:44Speaker 2: That's what she said.
- 27:46Speaker 1: We can talk about where this actually happened because they
- 27:48Speaker 1: did a good job. In the end, they were trying
- 27:51Speaker 1: to make it right.
- 27:51Speaker 2: Yeah, where was it?
- 27:52Speaker 3: Maybe they want to sponsor this podcast.
- 27:54Speaker 1: Mr.
- 27:54Speaker 2: Lee's.
- 27:55Speaker 1: It's a ramen bar and restaurant. What's your fucking problem?
- 27:57Speaker 1: Why are you going to a ramen bar for coffee?
- 28:00Speaker 1: She didn't go there for coffee. She got it as
- 28:03Speaker 1: a dessert.
- 28:04Speaker 2: Listen, listen.
- 28:05Speaker 1: Why would they have it on the menu? It was
- 28:06Speaker 1: an option on the dessert menu. Hey, if Burger King
- 28:09Speaker 1: has hot dogs on the menu, that doesn't mean you
- 28:11Speaker 1: have to get it.
- 28:12Speaker 7: What?
- 28:12Speaker 6: She just wanted a.
- 28:13Speaker 3: Cup of coffee. A lot of people get coffee for dessert.
- 28:15Speaker 3: You should have started with that. We went out to
- 28:17Speaker 3: a ramen bar, and my friend ordered coffee.
- 28:19Speaker 1: They have more than ramen. They have other things, too.
- 28:21Speaker 1: I'm just letting you know. Mr. Lee's Noodles. They went
- 28:24Speaker 1: above and beyond. They did a good job. Shut up, Joel.
- 28:27Speaker 2: Jeez.
- 28:28Speaker 3: Calm down.
- 28:29Speaker 1: Mr. Lee's, if you want to sponsor a podcast. Yeah,
- 28:31Speaker 1: after all that. He's telling people.
- 28:34Speaker 7: Anyway.
- 28:37Speaker 3: I have a question.
- 28:38Speaker 1: You know when you're supposed to stop for a school
- 28:40Speaker 1: bus when the lights are flashing and they put the
- 28:42Speaker 1: arm out? They do that at railroad tracks. So are
- 28:46Speaker 1: cars supposed to stop then, too?
- 28:48Speaker 3: You know, I never understand what exactly you're supposed to
- 28:53Speaker 3: do when the stop sign comes up at the bus.
- 28:56Speaker 1: Joel, too.
- 28:57Speaker 2: You're not supposed to do anything. You're supposed to stop.
- 29:00Speaker 2: But that's just it. Sometimes you stop. When? When? Where?
- 29:03Speaker 3: Like, we're supposed to stop all the time? No, when
- 29:05Speaker 3: they put the stop arm out. Yeah, but if you're
- 29:08Speaker 3: coming the opposite way, you got to stop. If you're
- 29:11Speaker 3: on the same side, you got to stop. It's like
- 29:12Speaker 3: you got to stop everywhere.
- 29:13Speaker 1: Everyone has to stop.
- 29:14Speaker 3: Everywhere.
- 29:15Speaker 1: I don't know. They have like stop signs flapping out
- 29:18Speaker 1: on the sides, you know.
- 29:19Speaker 3: I think there's still certain rules of the road that
- 29:21Speaker 3: I don't quite understand. What other ones?
- 29:25Speaker 2: Really?
- 29:25Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, let's talk about it.
- 29:28Speaker 3: The right on red thing.
- 29:29Speaker 2: Sometimes, sometimes. Why are you laughing? Why are you confused?
- 29:36Speaker 3: Well, because if you can't do it, there's a sign
- 29:38Speaker 3: that says you can't do it.
- 29:39Speaker 7: True.
- 29:40Speaker 3: But sometimes in the right turn only lane, when you
- 29:43Speaker 3: get to the right turn only lane, and that lane
- 29:47Speaker 3: has its own light, if that's red... Yeah. But there's
- 29:51Speaker 3: no sign there that says no right turn on red.
- 29:54Speaker 3: If that light, if that individual light is red... Is
- 29:57Speaker 3: that in place of the sign saying don't turn if
- 30:00Speaker 3: it's red or are you allowed to just go if
- 30:02Speaker 3: you want?
- 30:03Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 30:04Speaker 1: I think you can go if you want. You think
- 30:05Speaker 1: you don't know.
- 30:06Speaker 2: No, you can't.
- 30:07Speaker 3: If there's not a no turn on red sign, you're good.
- 30:10Speaker 3: My thing is, well, then why does it have its
- 30:11Speaker 3: own individual lane?
- 30:13Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 30:13Speaker 2: And light.
- 30:15Speaker 1: I have a intersection in mind where this occurs. It's
- 30:19Speaker 1: at 33 and Freemansburg Avenue. people that don't live around
- 30:23Speaker 1: here may not know that, but is that, do you
- 30:25Speaker 1: know what I'm talking about? No, no, no. Oh yes.
- 30:27Speaker 1: For our listeners in New Zealand, he's getting a little
- 30:29Speaker 1: bit too local, but uh, yes. Anyway, I know exactly
- 30:32Speaker 1: what you're talking about. It's just because traffic can only
- 30:34Speaker 1: go that way. It's gotta be something about how there's
- 30:38Speaker 1: no oncoming traffic.
- 30:39Speaker 3: I don't know. I don't know. What other ones?
- 30:44Speaker 1: Oh, that's a big one that I'm still a little
- 30:45Speaker 1: bit unsure of.
- 30:46Speaker 2: Okay.
- 30:47Speaker 3: Every time I get to a right, a right on
- 30:49Speaker 3: red with its own light, but no sign, it's like, man,
- 30:51Speaker 3: what do you do?
- 30:52Speaker 1: Yeah. Jeez, I think you just go and hope for
- 30:55Speaker 1: the best. That's all we can do. Anyway, read the
- 30:59Speaker 1: top one. I got to read your.
- 31:03Speaker 10: Okay.
- 31:04Speaker 3: Our friend and first ever guest on the podcast, Bob Holder,
- 31:07Speaker 3: has been gone a year.
- 31:08Speaker 1: He's been gone a year. He lives on as the
- 31:11Speaker 1: rowdy sounding guy on this disclaimer of our show. He's
- 31:14Speaker 1: the very first voice you hear in every episode.
- 31:16Speaker 3: He's the first guy you hear.
- 31:16Speaker 1: Man, that was a year ago already.
- 31:17Speaker 7: A year ago.
- 31:18Speaker 1: I was thinking about Bob yesterday. Rest in peace, Bob.
- 31:20Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 31:21Speaker 1: We miss you, man. Bob Holder Memorial Studios. He'd love that.
- 31:26Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 31:27Speaker 1: She'd get a sign made. That'd be kind of cool.
- 31:29Speaker 3: Wouldn't you think so? That's kind of a funny thing.
- 31:31Speaker 1: I should name my studios the Bob Holder Memorial.
- 31:34Speaker 3: Because it's hilarious.
- 31:37Speaker 1: Dude, you have to admit, he's one of the funniest
- 31:39Speaker 1: guys you've ever met.
- 31:40Speaker 3: They ought to do that at their new multi-million dollar
- 31:43Speaker 3: studio facility that nobody's using.
- 31:45Speaker 2: Shut up.
- 31:46Speaker 3: No hard feelings, right?
- 31:48Speaker 1: No hard feelings.
- 31:49Speaker 3: No burning bridges.
- 31:51Speaker 2: I'm not burning any bridges. I'm just stating the obvious.
- 31:54Speaker 1: You're lighting a fire. You're not really burning it. Speaking
- 31:57Speaker 1: of light and fires. Let's smoke more.
- 31:59Speaker 2: What?
- 32:00Speaker 1: And we have questions for each other. Joel, too, you
- 32:02Speaker 1: are the lifeline for this round.
- 32:03Speaker 8: All right.
- 32:04Speaker 1: And we can come to you once. Sometimes I cheat
- 32:06Speaker 1: and I go to you twice and we'll see what
- 32:08Speaker 1: I have to say, if anything. All right. I hope
- 32:10Speaker 1: you know your music because Becker's not good with his music. Depends.
- 32:14Speaker 2: Depends on the song.
- 32:15Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 32:15Speaker 3: Remember when we were talking a couple minutes ago about
- 32:18Speaker 3: how people are stupid?
- 32:20Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 32:21Speaker 3: You thought there was a guy in the Beatles named
- 32:23Speaker 3: like Mark or something. No, I didn't. I know those guys.
- 32:27Speaker 2: Dave.
- 32:28Speaker 1: Chris.
- 32:32Speaker 2: Rich.
- 32:34Speaker 1: Ray.
- 32:34Speaker 2: Troy. All right.
- 32:36Speaker 3: Do you want to go first? Do you want me
- 32:38Speaker 3: to go first?
- 32:38Speaker 1: No, it don't matter.
- 32:40Speaker 2: Question number one. I'll go first. You went first last week,
- 32:43Speaker 2: so I'll go first. Okay.
- 32:45Speaker 1: Okay.
- 32:49Speaker 3: All right, let's start with English here. Which Shakespeare play
- 32:53Speaker 3: inspired the core story of The Lion King, including a
- 32:57Speaker 3: prince seeking revenge for his father's death?
- 33:03Speaker 2: You trying to cheat already?
- 33:04Speaker 7: No.
- 33:05Speaker 2: Yeah, come on.
- 33:06Speaker 3: Are you going to your lifeline already on the first question?
- 33:08Speaker 1: That's pretty sad.
- 33:09Speaker 2: If you want my help, you have to say.
- 33:11Speaker 1: It out loud.
- 33:11Speaker 3: Let's read it again. Which Shakespeare play inspired the core
- 33:17Speaker 3: story of The Lion King? including a prince seeking revenge
- 33:23Speaker 3: for his father's death. What are we doing over here?
- 33:26Speaker 2: What's going on? I'm listening.
- 33:26Speaker 3: Keep talking. Yeah, but wait, wait, wait.
- 33:28Speaker 1: Are you going to your lifeline, yes or no?
- 33:30Speaker 7: I don't know yet.
- 33:31Speaker 3: Well, then stop looking over there.
- 33:32Speaker 2: All right, fine. What's the answer? Read it again.
- 33:35Speaker 1: You wouldn't finish the question.
- 33:38Speaker 3: Which Shakespeare play inspired the core story of The Lion King,
- 33:42Speaker 3: including a prince seeking revenge for his father's death? I
- 33:47Speaker 3: got to go to Joel.
- 33:48Speaker 1: That's Hamlet.
- 33:49Speaker 2: I was right!
- 33:50Speaker 1: Fuck!
- 33:50Speaker 3: Hamlet!
- 33:52Speaker 1: I had it. I had it. Yeah, Hamlet. I can
- 33:55Speaker 1: only think of two Shakespeare plays at the time, and
- 33:57Speaker 1: that's why I was.
- 33:58Speaker 2: Which was what? Romeo and Juliet? Romeo and Juliet and Hamlet.
- 34:01Speaker 1: Those would be the two that I would think of.
- 34:03Speaker 1: What else is there?
- 34:04Speaker 3: What other ones are there?
- 34:05Speaker 2: Midsummer Night's Dream.
- 34:06Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, that one. Okay, what else? Macbeth. Macbeth.
- 34:09Speaker 2: What about Pride and... Pride and Prejudice is not a
- 34:13Speaker 2: Romeo play. It's a novel by Jane Austen, I think. Sure.
- 34:18Speaker 1: See?
- 34:19Speaker 3: Smartest friend I have. The other Joel's very smart. Your
- 34:23Speaker 3: Joel friends are very similar but very different.
- 34:29Speaker 4: Question two.
- 34:33Speaker 3: We had so much fun with this category last week.
- 34:35Speaker 3: I brought another one. I think this one's a little
- 34:38Speaker 3: bit easier so I hope you get it.
- 34:40Speaker 2: So music.
- 34:42Speaker 3: I'm going to submit this one in Jeopardy too. Trios
- 34:45Speaker 3: minus one. So you got a band with three people.
- 34:48Speaker 3: You take away one guy. You got to tell me
- 34:49Speaker 3: what the band is, right? They're currently on tour with
- 34:53Speaker 3: original members, Alex and Getty.
- 34:57Speaker 1: What's the band?
- 35:01Speaker 2: It's a, Oh man, this is, this is bad. Hold on.
- 35:06Speaker 3: I got it.
- 35:08Speaker 1: They're currently on tour with original members, Alex and Getty.
- 35:11Speaker 1: What's the band? Oh, it's going to drive me nuts. Oh,
- 35:18Speaker 1: is it Rush?
- 35:19Speaker 3: Rush.
- 35:20Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 35:20Speaker 3: That's very good.
- 35:22Speaker 2: Thank God.
- 35:23Speaker 3: Man, you were doubting me. You were ready to tear
- 35:25Speaker 3: into me, too. I was.
- 35:26Speaker 4: I was.
- 35:26Speaker 2: I was getting worried.
- 35:27Speaker 1: I know. I was getting worried.
- 35:28Speaker 2: I knew it.
- 35:29Speaker 1: How'd you know it was Rush?
- 35:30Speaker 2: I just know their names.
- 35:31Speaker 1: They were back here, but I remember them.
- 35:33Speaker 2: Do you really?
- 35:34Speaker 7: Yeah. All right.
- 35:34Speaker 1: Who's the drummer of Rush that passed away? I don't remember.
- 35:38Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 35:40Speaker 1: I was never good at names of people that played.
- 35:43Speaker 3: I knew that one.
- 35:44Speaker 1: You knew Alex and Getty, though.
- 35:45Speaker 7: Shut up.
- 35:46Speaker 5: What?
- 35:46Speaker 2: What?
- 35:47Speaker 3: Question three.
- 35:50Speaker 1: Alright, this is a fun question.
- 35:53Speaker 3: Which bone in the human body shows the most significant
- 35:58Speaker 3: differences between genders?
- 36:03Speaker 2: Hmm.
- 36:04Speaker 3: Which bone in the human body shows the most significant
- 36:08Speaker 3: differences between Between genders.
- 36:10Speaker 1: I was going to say pelvic. Or the chest bone?
- 36:16Speaker 3: Like this?
- 36:17Speaker 5: No?
- 36:21Speaker 1: Whatever, the sternum?
- 36:22Speaker 4: No?
- 36:23Speaker 1: Stop looking at your hint. You already got a hint.
- 36:26Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm trying not to say anything unless you ask officially.
- 36:29Speaker 3: Or is it hips? I don't know.
- 36:31Speaker 1: They don't lie. I'm going to say pelvic. Pelvic bone?
- 36:35Speaker 1: Final answer?
- 36:36Speaker 3: Pelvic bone.
- 36:37Speaker 2: Oh, mother....
- 36:40Speaker 1: All right.
- 36:40Speaker 2: Very good.
- 36:41Speaker 1: I am smart this week.
- 36:43Speaker 2: Yeah, are you three for three already?
- 36:45Speaker 1: I think you only asked me two questions, right?
- 36:47Speaker 2: No, I asked you three.
- 36:48Speaker 1: That was definitely three.
- 36:49Speaker 3: Yeah, I got three.
- 36:51Speaker 1: Two. Well, Joel, two.
- 36:53Speaker 2: You would have had the first one. You would have
- 36:54Speaker 2: had it. You're right there.
- 36:56Speaker 1: I was trying to mouth it to him and see
- 36:58Speaker 1: if he would give me a hint. He didn't budge.
- 37:01Speaker 2: Cheating all over the place.
- 37:02Speaker 3: Come on.
- 37:03Speaker 2: He is a cheater.
- 37:04Speaker 1: He really is. Shut up. It's a problem.
- 37:06Speaker 4: Question four.
- 37:07Speaker 10: All right.
- 37:09Speaker 1: I never really watched The Simpsons. Did you watch The Simpsons?
- 37:12Speaker 1: Not since I was a kid, religiously, by the way.
- 37:14Speaker 1: Which U.S.
- 37:14Speaker 3: President moves in across the street from The Simpsons after
- 37:19Speaker 3: leaving office?
- 37:21Speaker 1: I'm going to guess. Does it say the year by
- 37:25Speaker 1: any chance?
- 37:25Speaker 9: No.
- 37:27Speaker 1: Yeah, that would be season, episode, number, anything. Yeah, that
- 37:31Speaker 1: wouldn't give it away or anything. The U.S.
- 37:34Speaker 3: President that moves in across the street from The Simpsons
- 37:37Speaker 3: after leaving office.
- 37:39Speaker 1: I'm going to say Bill Clinton. Final answer.
- 37:42Speaker 2: I did not have sexual relations with that woman.
- 37:45Speaker 1: Yeah, you did.
- 37:47Speaker 2: Miss Lewinsky. I just took the cigar.
- 37:50Speaker 1: No. I don't remember the episode, but I'm going to
- 37:55Speaker 1: say Bill Clinton. Bill Clinton. Because it was very timely, probably.
- 37:59Speaker 3: No, I got it wrong.
- 38:00Speaker 2: The correct answer is George H.W.
- 38:02Speaker 1: Bush. Oh, wow. Yeah.
- 38:04Speaker 2: Good question.
- 38:04Speaker 1: Yeah, thank you. Those were all very good. I tried
- 38:07Speaker 1: to watch The Simpsons. I can't get into it.
- 38:09Speaker 10: No?
- 38:09Speaker 1: No, I can't.
- 38:10Speaker 3: I'm telling you, I'm really trying hard with The Sopranos
- 38:12Speaker 3: yet again, man.
- 38:13Speaker 7: Oof.
- 38:14Speaker 1: What are you watching these days? Well, Ted Lasso season four, actually.
- 38:18Speaker 3: Ted Lasso's good.
- 38:19Speaker 1: Ted Lasso.
- 38:19Speaker 2: Is that good? It's so good.
- 38:21Speaker 1: It's very funny.
- 38:22Speaker 2: Is it?
- 38:23Speaker 1: It's funny and... It has its very endearing moments, too.
- 38:27Speaker 1: I might get canceled for saying this, but I'm going
- 38:29Speaker 1: to say it anyway.
- 38:29Speaker 3: Oh, what? There's something about British accents for long periods
- 38:33Speaker 3: of time that's distracting to me.
- 38:36Speaker 2: At some point, it's like, what are you saying?
- 38:38Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 38:39Speaker 3: I have to put the closed captions on. It's hard
- 38:43Speaker 3: to follow sometimes, you know? I've got questions for you.
- 38:46Speaker 2: My turn.
- 38:46Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 38:47Speaker 2: Question number one.
- 38:52Speaker 1: Hit me, hit me. Which scientist... developed the three laws
- 38:55Speaker 1: of action.
- 38:57Speaker 3: The three laws of action?
- 38:59Speaker 1: Which scientist developed the three laws of action? I just
- 39:02Speaker 1: told you earlier, science was never my thing. Or math
- 39:06Speaker 1: or English.
- 39:06Speaker 2: You mean laws of motion?
- 39:08Speaker 1: Yeah, action.
- 39:10Speaker 2: The fuck's a law of action? That's what I meant.
- 39:13Speaker 1: Which scientist developed the three laws of motion? Sorry.
- 39:16Speaker 3: Thank you, Joel. Because in that case, I would say Newton, right?
- 39:22Speaker 3: Sir Isaac Newton. Is he not the Laws of Motion guy?
- 39:25Speaker 1: I don't know. I'm gonna say sir isaac newton.
- 39:29Speaker 7: Fine you got it see you tried to trip him
- 39:33Speaker 7: up no i tricked myself uh do you know what
- 39:37Speaker 7: they are what the laws of motion or the laws
- 39:40Speaker 7: of action the three laws of motion.
- 39:44Speaker 1: Thou shall not steal. Thou shall not.
- 39:49Speaker 9: No.
- 39:49Speaker 2: No, that was it. Was that it?
- 39:50Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 39:51Speaker 1: Let's go to question two.
- 39:54Speaker 2: Question two.
- 39:55Speaker 3: You're so smart.
- 39:58Speaker 2: I knew it. What was it again? Thou shall not steal.
- 40:02Speaker 2: That's the one.
- 40:03Speaker 3: All right.
- 40:04Speaker 1: In which continent is most of Egypt? Ooh. How many
- 40:09Speaker 1: continents are there?
- 40:10Speaker 2: Seven. There's seven.
- 40:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 40:12Speaker 1: So he knows that.
- 40:13Speaker 2: You know, the Middle East, Egypt is... I don't know
- 40:16Speaker 2: if Egypt is part of the Middle East. It gets
- 40:18Speaker 2: screwy down there, man. It does.
- 40:22Speaker 3: Because Egypt's close to, like, Iran and shit down there.
- 40:26Speaker 3: Isn't Egypt connected to Iran at some, like, very small
- 40:29Speaker 3: point or no?
- 40:30Speaker 5: No.
- 40:30Speaker 9: No?
- 40:31Speaker 2: Okay. I'm wrong. All right. Got it.
- 40:34Speaker 1: Okay.
- 40:35Speaker 3: Geography.
- 40:36Speaker 1: He is the smartest friend I have. I was never
- 40:39Speaker 1: good at geography.
- 40:39Speaker 3: Okay.
- 40:39Speaker 2: Okay.
- 40:41Speaker 3: What continent is Egypt mostly in? I think it's Africa.
- 40:46Speaker 1: Now you have one lifeline. Yeah, and this is question one. Two.
- 40:51Speaker 2: I think it's Africa.
- 40:52Speaker 3: Because it wouldn't be Europe. And South America, like, no,
- 40:59Speaker 3: it's not that. I think it's Africa.
- 41:02Speaker 2: You sure? Final answer?
- 41:04Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm going to say Africa. Final answer. You got
- 41:06Speaker 1: it right.
- 41:06Speaker 2: Yeah!
- 41:08Speaker 1: Son of a bitch. We're both very smart today. That's
- 41:11Speaker 1: another question.
- 41:12Speaker 3: I don't think the average person, if you stop, we
- 41:13Speaker 3: should start a new feature stopping random people in the
- 41:15Speaker 3: street and asking them questions. What's an egg and where
- 41:19Speaker 3: is Egypt? What's an egg?
- 41:21Speaker 1: We'll start with the two big ones.
- 41:23Speaker 2: How do you egg?
- 41:23Speaker 3: I don't know. Question three.
- 41:28Speaker 1: So if Egypt doesn't touch Iran, what does it touch? Like,
- 41:32Speaker 1: Saudi Arabia, maybe?
- 41:34Speaker 2: I don't think so.
- 41:36Speaker 3: They're right there. Does it touch Iraq?
- 41:40Speaker 9: No.
- 41:40Speaker 2: All those are on the other side of the Mediterranean,
- 41:44Speaker 2: I think. Let's look it up. Yeah, you could... It's
- 41:50Speaker 2: right there.
- 41:51Speaker 3: Libya, Sudan, Israel, and the Gaza Strip. Okay.
- 41:58Speaker 2: Actually, that's exactly... Yeah.
- 42:02Speaker 1: Forgot.
- 42:02Speaker 2: There's a tiny part of Egypt across the river between
- 42:05Speaker 2: the Red Sea. Most of Egypt is on the other
- 42:09Speaker 2: side in Africa.
- 42:09Speaker 3: Do you know much about the Red Sea there, Joel?
- 42:12Speaker 1: I know it's not really red. Like, that's just a term.
- 42:14Speaker 1: That's just its name. It's just its name. I don't
- 42:19Speaker 1: know why they call it that.
- 42:20Speaker 7: I don't know.
- 42:21Speaker 2: Isn't that got something to do with the Bible or no? Probably, right?
- 42:24Speaker 2: I don't know. I mean, yeah, I think it was
- 42:27Speaker 2: the Red Sea that Moses.
- 42:30Speaker 1: Oh, that's why it's... Okay, yeah. You can't ask me
- 42:32Speaker 1: anything about that stuff.
- 42:34Speaker 9: No?
- 42:34Speaker 1: I did not retain any of that stuff. It would
- 42:36Speaker 1: be fun to do Bible trivia sometime. All right, let's
- 42:39Speaker 1: try that.
- 42:40Speaker 3: Honestly, if I said to you, who got stuck in
- 42:43Speaker 3: the belly of the whale? You know that shit, right? Yeah,
- 42:45Speaker 3: it's the guy.
- 42:47Speaker 2: Oh, come on. Everybody knows who got stuck in the whale.
- 42:50Speaker 1: Jonah. Jonah.
- 42:51Speaker 3: Jonah got stuck in the belly of the whale. Man,
- 42:54Speaker 3: you need to go home and watch some VeggieTales, Mr.
- 42:56Speaker 1: Becker. Is that on HBO too? I can watch that
- 43:00Speaker 1: after Sesame street.
- 43:01Speaker 8: Probably.
- 43:02Speaker 1: All right.
- 43:04Speaker 3: Let's go to the next one.
- 43:05Speaker 1: All right.
- 43:05Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 43:05Speaker 1: I already clicked the button. So go ahead.
- 43:07Speaker 3: Ask.
- 43:07Speaker 2: All right.
- 43:08Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 43:08Speaker 2: Oh, cool.
- 43:09Speaker 1: Oh, uh, what traditional name was given to the pitch
- 43:13Speaker 1: on which American football is, I mean, do that again.
- 43:16Speaker 2: Sorry.
- 43:17Speaker 1: What, what, what traditional name was given to the pitch
- 43:20Speaker 1: on which American football is played?
- 43:23Speaker 3: Oh, pitch on which your wording is impeccable. Think about
- 43:28Speaker 3: where football was held. You couldn't come up with another
- 43:31Speaker 3: way to say that?
- 43:31Speaker 2: The field? Yeah, the field. Football field? Traditional name. Yeah,
- 43:35Speaker 2: but you're asking the traditional name of the football field.
- 43:37Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 43:38Speaker 1: Which is European football. Well, that's the way it was
- 43:41Speaker 1: worded on the internet.
- 43:42Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying.
- 43:43Speaker 1: Yeah, they probably live in Europe. What do you call
- 43:45Speaker 1: the thing that football is held on? American football. American football? Yeah,
- 43:49Speaker 1: American football.
- 43:50Speaker 2: You don't even know his question.
- 43:51Speaker 3: It was in the question.
- 43:54Speaker 2: Read it again. All right.
- 43:56Speaker 1: What traditional name was given to the pitch in which
- 44:01Speaker 1: American football was played? I have no idea. What do
- 44:03Speaker 1: you call that? That's what I'm asking you. He called
- 44:06Speaker 1: it a field, but the traditional name for it, there's
- 44:09Speaker 1: another name for it.
- 44:14Speaker 3: Uh.
- 44:14Speaker 2: I think I got this one if you want to
- 44:16Speaker 2: like it. Yeah, I'll go to my lifeline.
- 44:17Speaker 1: If you can decipher the questions, Merry Christmas. My God.
- 44:20Speaker 2: The gridiron.
- 44:21Speaker 3: The gridiron.
- 44:22Speaker 1: Yeah, that was the traditional name for a field that
- 44:26Speaker 1: American football was played on. And this is when you
- 44:28Speaker 1: go to ChatGPT.
- 44:29Speaker 2: I didn't know. Oh, my God.
- 44:30Speaker 4: No, no, no.
- 44:30Speaker 3: What I'm saying, this is when you go to ChatGPT
- 44:33Speaker 3: and you say... rewrite this question.
- 44:35Speaker 5: All right.
- 44:36Speaker 1: Fair enough.
- 44:36Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 44:37Speaker 1: Pitch football pitch is, uh, I felt like if I
- 44:41Speaker 1: put field, but it was also anyway, online, it said pitch.
- 44:47Speaker 2: And they live in Europe.
- 44:48Speaker 1: Shut up.
- 44:49Speaker 2: Is this question?
- 44:50Speaker 1: I think that was question four, but I have a
- 44:52Speaker 1: bonus question for you.
- 44:53Speaker 2: Was that four? That was three.
- 44:54Speaker 1: That was four. Yep.
- 44:55Speaker 2: Yep. That was four.
- 44:56Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 44:56Speaker 1: You had Isaac Newton, Africa, gridiron, gridiron, Oh, we didn't
- 45:02Speaker 1: do four.
- 45:03Speaker 3: I told you.
- 45:03Speaker 2: Boy, you're on a roll to this. All right, give
- 45:06Speaker 2: me the fourth fucked up question.
- 45:07Speaker 1: I'll take it.
- 45:08Speaker 7: Here we go.
- 45:08Speaker 2: Question four.
- 45:09Speaker 1: Twenty.
- 45:10Speaker 5: What?
- 45:13Speaker 1: What is the division of a cell nucleus that results
- 45:16Speaker 1: in two identical daughter cells called? Oh, jeez. The division
- 45:20Speaker 1: of a cell nucleus.
- 45:24Speaker 3: I've talked before about my struggles with biology. I do
- 45:27Speaker 3: remember the nucleus, though. I remember hearing about that. They're
- 45:30Speaker 3: also the band that did Jam On It, if you
- 45:32Speaker 3: remember that song.
- 45:35Speaker 1: Jam On It. Yeah, yeah, we know, we know.
- 45:43Speaker 2: You're going to say wiki, wiki, wiki again.
- 45:46Speaker 3: Wiki, wiki, wiki, wiki.
- 45:47Speaker 2: Shut up.
- 45:49Speaker 1: No one knows that song either.
- 45:51Speaker 2: I think people know that song.
- 45:53Speaker 1: Maybe.
- 45:53Speaker 4: Maybe.
- 45:54Speaker 1: What is the division of a cell nucleus that results
- 45:57Speaker 1: in two identical daughter? Yeah, man, I don't know about this.
- 46:00Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't have this one either.
- 46:02Speaker 1: Does it have to do with eggs? Cell nucleus. So no?
- 46:07Speaker 3: No.
- 46:08Speaker 2: Is there a nucleus in an egg?
- 46:09Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 46:12Speaker 2: Joel?
- 46:13Speaker 3: Joel too?
- 46:14Speaker 2: I think no. He doesn't sound quite sure.
- 46:19Speaker 1: I really don't know. I'm going to be here.
- 46:21Speaker 3: It's called mitosis.
- 46:24Speaker 1: I've heard of that before, but I wouldn't have gotten that.
- 46:26Speaker 1: Had you gotten that right. Cause I actually did have
- 46:28Speaker 1: five questions written down. I use the one though, in
- 46:31Speaker 1: the rapid round, I just forgot to delete it. But anyway,
- 46:33Speaker 1: that was supposed to be a bonus one. Had you
- 46:35Speaker 1: gotten it, you would've got these Teddy grams as a
- 46:37Speaker 1: bonus prize, but You know what?
- 46:42Speaker 3: Thank you for buying these for me because I won't
- 46:44Speaker 3: buy them for myself because they're insanely expensive.
- 46:47Speaker 2: Are they? Oh, man.
- 46:49Speaker 3: I went to the grocery store today and did my typical,
- 46:51Speaker 3: you know, bought $ 100 worth of groceries, which was three bags.
- 46:55Speaker 2: Teddy Grahams.
- 46:56Speaker 3: The box of Teddy Grahams now is like $ 7 or
- 46:59Speaker 3: something crazy.
- 47:00Speaker 1: It's criminal.
- 47:00Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 47:01Speaker 1: What's your favorite go-to stoner snack there, Joel, too? Pizza. Oh, no.
- 47:05Speaker 3: Pizza's not a snack.
- 47:07Speaker 1: That's a meal.
- 47:07Speaker 7: Kind of is.
- 47:08Speaker 3: No, that's a meal.
- 47:09Speaker 1: That's a meal. Do you get snacky?
- 47:11Speaker 2: Not really.
- 47:12Speaker 4: No, no.
- 47:13Speaker 1: Oh, you're not going to like this next part of
- 47:15Speaker 1: the show, then.
- 47:16Speaker 2: This is when we get snacky.
- 47:18Speaker 3: It's time for.
- 47:23Speaker 1: You know, Joel, too, is a fine example that you
- 47:25Speaker 1: can smoke weed and still be very intelligent. Thank you
- 47:30Speaker 1: for being on the show today.
- 47:31Speaker 2: Yeah, of course. Happy to be here.
- 47:33Speaker 1: So you've had to kind of cut back on your
- 47:36Speaker 1: smoking because you're looking for a job and you have
- 47:38Speaker 1: to do drug tests and stuff like that.
- 47:40Speaker 2: Well, I haven't had to do any at this point.
- 47:42Speaker 1: But you took some at-home ones, though.
- 47:44Speaker 2: Yeah, because I wanted to see where I was at.
- 47:47Speaker 2: I mean, I felt for a while that I needed
- 47:49Speaker 2: to cut back. And then there was one job that
- 47:52Speaker 2: I was concerned about that they might test me if
- 47:55Speaker 2: it had gotten that far. And so I was like,
- 47:57Speaker 2: you know, I should see where I'm at and actually
- 48:00Speaker 2: try to see if I can stop for a while. Uh,
- 48:03Speaker 2: I needed to anyway.
- 48:04Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 48:05Speaker 2: So me too, but took a, took a while, took
- 48:08Speaker 2: a lot longer than I was expecting before that test
- 48:10Speaker 2: came back clean. Yeah. But, uh, I mean, it came
- 48:13Speaker 2: back clean last week and.
- 48:15Speaker 1: Man, I haven't, we fucked it up today. I'm sorry
- 48:17Speaker 1: about that.
- 48:18Speaker 2: It's all right.
- 48:18Speaker 1: I was due. I haven't had a break in a
- 48:21Speaker 1: long time. So like, I don't know what it is
- 48:22Speaker 1: to kind of reset my tolerance. You know, I'm wondering, Oh,
- 48:25Speaker 1: it's nice.
- 48:26Speaker 2: I'm good right now. I haven't even had to take
- 48:28Speaker 2: anything really.
- 48:29Speaker 1: Good for you.
- 48:30Speaker 5: Wow.
- 48:31Speaker 2: I mean, by comparison to how I used to be. Yeah,
- 48:34Speaker 2: for sure.
- 48:35Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 48:36Speaker 1: I think the last time I took a break sort
- 48:38Speaker 1: of was when I fractured my ribs and that was
- 48:40Speaker 1: a whole thing, but that was all depressing. We're here
- 48:42Speaker 1: to talk about snacks. These are the caramel M &
- 48:45Speaker 1: Ms popped and they're freeze dried candy. I'm really interested
- 48:50Speaker 1: in trying these guys.
- 48:51Speaker 2: Wait, what are they again?
- 48:52Speaker 1: Say it one more time.
- 48:53Speaker 3: Caramel M & M' s popped.
- 48:55Speaker 1: I already really like them. They're very good. Why is
- 48:59Speaker 1: everything freeze-dried nowadays? Not everything is freeze-dried.
- 49:02Speaker 2: No, it is. We're freeze-drying here.
- 49:04Speaker 1: Freeze-dried toenails.
- 49:06Speaker 4: What?
- 49:07Speaker 1: What else is freeze-dried that worries you?
- 49:09Speaker 10: Fruit.
- 49:11Speaker 1: That's been a thing for a while, though.
- 49:13Speaker 3: What else?
- 49:14Speaker 2: Vegetables. I don't know.
- 49:16Speaker 1: What vegetables are freeze-dried?
- 49:20Speaker 3: Dried I just feel like everywhere you go now you
- 49:22Speaker 3: see stuff that's freeze dried they almost taste like popcorn
- 49:26Speaker 3: for a moment.
- 49:29Speaker 2: Popped M & M' s.
- 49:30Speaker 1: Yeah pretty good it's like popcorn M & M' s if
- 49:33Speaker 1: M & M' s were popcorn or vice versa here Joel
- 49:37Speaker 1: Joel how long have you smoked weed.
- 49:38Speaker 2: Who's listening to this Who wants to know?
- 49:40Speaker 1: I don't know your last name.
- 49:41Speaker 2: All right. Oh, that's true. Uh, two, 23, I think
- 49:45Speaker 2: was the first time I tried it.
- 49:46Speaker 1: 23.
- 49:46Speaker 2: Yeah. Late compared to most people.
- 49:48Speaker 3: I was too.
- 49:49Speaker 4: Oh, really?
- 49:50Speaker 2: I don't think I knew that actually all this time.
- 49:52Speaker 2: I think you never told me.
- 49:53Speaker 1: I think I was like around that time, 23, 24,
- 49:55Speaker 1: something like that. When was the first time you smoked? Um,
- 50:02Speaker 1: first time I.
- 50:02Speaker 3: Smoked, smoked, uh, I was probably like 18.
- 50:07Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 50:07Speaker 1: I was probably 18.
- 50:09Speaker 2: But then.
- 50:10Speaker 1: You didn't like it though, right? Yeah, I did it
- 50:11Speaker 1: once and I was like... Because he would like come
- 50:13Speaker 1: to work and give me shit like.
- 50:14Speaker 2: Oh, fucking stoner.
- 50:16Speaker 3: And then one day.
- 50:17Speaker 1: Yeah, he used to give me shit all the time.
- 50:19Speaker 1: I mean, you do that professionally. I do.
- 50:21Speaker 3: With me.
- 50:22Speaker 2: I'm good at that.
- 50:22Speaker 1: Yeah, you're really good. But... So you were 18?
- 50:25Speaker 3: My one buddy, his dad like had knee surgery or
- 50:28Speaker 3: something when we were going into our senior year of
- 50:30Speaker 3: high school. His dad had knee surgery and got like
- 50:34Speaker 3: his MedGuard and had medical marijuana for the first time.
- 50:37Speaker 1: Like right when it was like... when everybody started to
- 50:39Speaker 1: get their MedGuard.
- 50:40Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 50:41Speaker 1: And, you know, I was still too young, obviously.
- 50:43Speaker 3: So my buddy like stole gummies from his dad, from
- 50:49Speaker 3: his dad's like fucking stash and brought them to my
- 50:52Speaker 3: friend's house down the street from where I grew up.
- 50:55Speaker 1: You guys got pretty crazy.
- 50:56Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 50:57Speaker 3: Honestly, I remember, but I don't, I don't, I, I, I,
- 51:00Speaker 3: we did that and I did not get high. So
- 51:02Speaker 3: I didn't like it. I didn't think it was, I
- 51:04Speaker 3: thought it was, you know, not everything that was cracked
- 51:06Speaker 3: up to be. But then what got me exuded for
- 51:09Speaker 3: the first time was like probably a year later when
- 51:11Speaker 3: I smoked the pen.
- 51:14Speaker 2: Oh, really?
- 51:14Speaker 1: When I hit the Benjamin.
- 51:15Speaker 3: And I remember sitting there on the couch of my
- 51:18Speaker 3: neighbor's house for the first time thinking, oh, okay, now
- 51:20Speaker 3: I get it. And then I remember thinking, oh, dude,
- 51:24Speaker 3: all I want to do is listen to some great
- 51:26Speaker 3: fucking music right now.
- 51:27Speaker 1: That's all I want to do.
- 51:28Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 51:29Speaker 1: Well, the rest is history, as they say. I remember
- 51:31Speaker 1: when you started getting into it.
- 51:33Speaker 4: I remember.
- 51:34Speaker 2: He was young. Well, I was working at the radio station.
- 51:36Speaker 5: I was 18.
- 51:36Speaker 3: He was young, yeah.
- 51:37Speaker 1: I remember coming to you and being like, yo, I
- 51:39Speaker 1: get it now. And then you'd be like, you want
- 51:41Speaker 1: to come over to my house? Because he moved into
- 51:43Speaker 1: his first apartment.
- 51:44Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 51:44Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 51:45Speaker 2: It's funny, too.
- 51:45Speaker 3: Somebody alerted me when I first moved out.
- 51:47Speaker 1: I was 20 when I moved out. This was like
- 51:49Speaker 1: eight years ago now.
- 51:50Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 51:51Speaker 3: And I posted there's pictures on my Instagram. If you
- 51:55Speaker 3: scroll all the way down, you can find pictures of
- 51:57Speaker 3: my very first apartment. And if you zoom in and
- 52:00Speaker 3: if you look, there is indeed a bong sitting on it.
- 52:04Speaker 1: The counter. And I have no idea.
- 52:06Speaker 2: I had no idea.
- 52:07Speaker 1: I mean, you really have to zoom in to look
- 52:08Speaker 1: at it.
- 52:09Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 52:09Speaker 1: But I was reminded of that a few weeks ago.
- 52:11Speaker 2: That's really funny.
- 52:11Speaker 3: A friend was like, I remember when you posted a
- 52:12Speaker 3: bong on your Instagram.
- 52:13Speaker 2: I'm like, what?
- 52:15Speaker 1: Yeah, sure enough.
- 52:17Speaker 2: Oh, look at you now.
- 52:18Speaker 1: Yeah, look at me now.
- 52:19Speaker 3: Isn't it crazy that both Joel's are out of jobs
- 52:22Speaker 3: and you're thinking about drug tests and not smoking?
- 52:25Speaker 5: And I.
- 52:27Speaker 1: didn't even think of a drug test one time. I've
- 52:29Speaker 1: never taken a drug. I was just going to ask you,
- 52:30Speaker 1: is there like, is it, you said there was like
- 52:32Speaker 1: a line when you did it, is there like a
- 52:33Speaker 1: score on it?
- 52:34Speaker 3: Like, can you, how does that work?
- 52:35Speaker 2: How do you take a drug test? Well, it was
- 52:37Speaker 2: just a piss test. So you just pee in a cup.
- 52:38Speaker 2: There's like you a level. Uh, no, no, it's just a,
- 52:42Speaker 2: it's just a pass or fail or positive or negative.
- 52:44Speaker 2: So there's like, there's a test line that's going to
- 52:46Speaker 2: show up no matter what.
- 52:48Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 52:48Speaker 2: And then there's a second line that will only show
- 52:50Speaker 2: up if you test clean.
- 52:52Speaker 1: Gotcha. We should take them to try them out and
- 52:55Speaker 1: see if they're accurate. But if they come out that
- 52:58Speaker 1: were clean, yeah, don't buy these. Anyway.
- 53:03Speaker 2: Do you ever give anybody pee for a pee test?
- 53:05Speaker 7: No.
- 53:05Speaker 2: Are you sure about that?
- 53:06Speaker 7: Yes.
- 53:08Speaker 1: I wouldn't be able.
- 53:10Speaker 2: I wouldn't be any help.
- 53:12Speaker 1: True.
- 53:13Speaker 2: Why would you come to me?
- 53:14Speaker 1: I used to do that in high school.
- 53:15Speaker 10: Really?
- 53:15Speaker 7: Oh, yeah.
- 53:16Speaker 1: It was bad.
- 53:17Speaker 3: Wait, you would provide?
- 53:19Speaker 1: Yeah, you give pee for a pee. You've never done that, really?
- 53:22Speaker 2: Oh, man.
- 53:22Speaker 3: I feel like that's the ultimate move.
- 53:25Speaker 1: For your homies.
- 53:25Speaker 3: I should probably stop talking now because it's incriminating evidence.
- 53:28Speaker 3: But the statute of limitations is over.
- 53:30Speaker 1: I think so.
- 53:32Speaker 3: No, but this is so fucking foul. But yeah, you
- 53:34Speaker 3: like piss in a water bottle. And then somebody takes
- 53:37Speaker 3: the task of like taking the piss from said water
- 53:40Speaker 3: bottle and inserting that into like a Mio.
- 53:44Speaker 1: Like, you know, the water, a little water. Mm hmm.
- 53:47Speaker 3: Well, it's not water flavor anymore anymore unless you want
- 53:50Speaker 3: shitty lemonade. And then you bring that with you when
- 53:54Speaker 3: you take your piss test, because normally if you have
- 53:56Speaker 3: like a real piss test, you got to like do
- 53:58Speaker 3: it in front of somebody. They watch it.
- 53:59Speaker 2: Not really.
- 54:00Speaker 3: Depends on law enforcement, maybe. But yeah.
- 54:04Speaker 1: So, yeah, you put the Mio in your own. I
- 54:06Speaker 1: don't get I don't know this from experience. I know
- 54:08Speaker 1: this from being told this, honestly. So did you charge?
- 54:11Speaker 3: No. I wouldn't, you should have cashed in on that.
- 54:14Speaker 3: I was young, young and dumb, man. Now, now, oh
- 54:17Speaker 3: my God, if I had a kid and my kid
- 54:19Speaker 3: was like, oh, I just gave somebody pee for this.
- 54:21Speaker 2: I'd be like, what?
- 54:22Speaker 3: Like this is, this is, I guess this is part
- 54:25Speaker 3: of adult life is that you grow up and you
- 54:26Speaker 3: look at the dumb shit that you did growing up
- 54:28Speaker 3: and you think, what the fuck was I thinking?
- 54:30Speaker 1: Yeah. But yeah, what the fuck was I thinking? I
- 54:32Speaker 1: think that too. And then I also think I'd do
- 54:34Speaker 1: it again. Yeah. I'll do it right now.
- 54:39Speaker 3: Well, lo and behold, I mean, Becker, if you ever
- 54:41Speaker 3: need pee for a piss test, I got you.
- 54:43Speaker 2: No, I don't. Oh, yeah.
- 54:44Speaker 1: Well, I mean, you can't help me either. I can't
- 54:47Speaker 1: help anyone. You can't help anyone. And that's episode 64.
- 54:51Speaker 1: That's what it'll be called.
