- 0:01Attaining. A deep inner peace in the being
- 0:05is a process that can begin wherever an individual currently
- 0:09is in their inner life for someone just starting out.
- 0:15There's no expectation of some sudden, miraculous silencing of
- 0:18the Mind, although, of course it's possible.
- 0:23Rather, the initial attempts can be modest providing a basis and
- 0:28foundation for further steps to follow.
- 0:31Quieting. The Turning of the mind is an
- 0:34early stage that the seeker can utilize to gain control over
- 0:38other aspects of the being. If we stand back and observe our
- 0:44mental process, we can see that. All kinds of sense impressions
- 0:48are captured and examined jumping.
- 0:52From one thing to another, some of these cause more extended
- 0:56thought or in cases of things perceived as harmful or - worry
- 1:03fear frustration or other reactions that cause the mind to
- 1:08continually revolve around the concern or issue and not let it
- 1:14go in many cases repeating the same thoughts in a cycle without
- 1:19exit Many times the mind will wind up dwelling on some past
- 1:25circumstance event or experience or else.
- 1:29It will focus on some future imagination.
- 1:34Cultivating the standpoint of the witness, observing.
- 1:37The action of the mind is a first and important step.
- 1:42There are also a number of recommended methods to bring a
- 1:45measure of quiet to the mind, some of which are set forth by
- 1:49Swami Vivekananda in his lectures on raggio.

- 1:59thoughts and feelings Disturbed. The Quiet of the Mind stuff.
- 2:04Observation without attachment is one method he recommends.
- 2:10So that as the Mind runs the Observer remains free and does
- 2:15not grasp onto any of the running thoughts.
- 2:19Another point he provides is the connection of the breath to the
- 2:24thought by consciously, gaining control of the breath.
- 2:29The mind can become quiet. Sometimes a mantra is used to
- 2:34push out all the conflicting thoughts and bring coherent to
- 2:39the Mind stuff. Once the mind, is freed of the
- 2:43extraneous, disturbances, the mantras simply released and the
- 2:48mind is quiet. All of these are preliminary
- 2:53processes of achieving a quiet and attentive status in the
- 2:56mind. Further stages can develop that
- 3:00lead to the Silence of the Mind, The Descent of a deep peace in
- 3:05the mind, Etc. The first stage of the calm and
- 3:09quiet mind is an important Milestone.

- 3:28its forms of disturbance. The mother observes quote.
- 3:34Someone has asked me what I meant by these words.
- 3:38One must be calm. It is obvious that when I tell
- 3:42someone be calm, I mean many different things according to
- 3:46the person, but the first indispensable column is mental
- 3:51quietude for generally. That is the one that's most
- 3:55lacking. When I tell someone be calm, I
- 4:00mean, try not to have restless, excited, agitated thoughts, try
- 4:06to quieten the mind and to stop turning around in all your
- 4:11imaginations and observations and mental constructions.
