- 0:00Speaker 1: And the cracking power play lost.
- 0:02Speaker 2: This is the postgame show, brought to you by Toyota
- 0:06Speaker 2: of Olympia.
- 0:07Speaker 3: Now for an in depth look at your Kraken Hockey.
- 0:10Speaker 2: It's the post game on the Global Credit Union Kraken
- 0:14Speaker 2: Audio Network for the.
- 0:16Speaker 4: Final time tonight, for the final time prior to the holidays,
- 0:20Speaker 4: Welcome back inside of Climate Pledge Arena alongside al Kiniski.
- 0:25Speaker 4: Everett fits you back with you the Krack and lose
- 0:28Speaker 4: yet another frustrating five to three game to the Colorado
- 0:32Speaker 4: Avalanche and again Seattle in this one for the entirety,
- 0:36Speaker 4: with the best team in the NHL. You go back
- 0:39Speaker 4: to the last handful of games for Seattle. You have
- 0:42Speaker 4: a five to three loss with an empty NEP. You
- 0:45Speaker 4: have a three to one loss with an empty NEP.
- 0:47Speaker 4: Five to three loss with an empty NEP. Uh, four
- 0:50Speaker 4: to one, four to three. I mean this is probably
- 0:54Speaker 4: I mean this ranks up there for me as one
- 0:55Speaker 4: of the more frustrating games of the season.
- 0:58Speaker 1: Knowing how close the crack and word to get.
- 1:00Speaker 5: In the two points in this one, well and again
- 1:02Speaker 5: once again, you know you, I don't want to see
- 1:04Speaker 5: you look for excuses, but you talk about the sickness.
- 1:07Speaker 5: You talk about the injuries, and you think about this
- 1:09Speaker 5: team when they are fully healthy battling against this Colorado team,
- 1:13Speaker 5: and maybe there's a different outcome. But you know, for
- 1:15Speaker 5: the team that they were able to put on the
- 1:16Speaker 5: ice tonight, I thought that certainly the first two periods
- 1:19Speaker 5: were fantastic for the Kraken. Like I said, the third period,
- 1:23Speaker 5: the first ten minutes, Colorado really turned it on and
- 1:26Speaker 5: it was it was difficult for Seattle to turn it off.
- 1:29Speaker 5: And yeah, that's when that's when Colorado got back in
- 1:32Speaker 5: the game, got the lead and never looked back.
- 1:34Speaker 4: Coming into the game, the Cracking had seven eight ish
- 1:37Speaker 4: guys out with some type of sickness, and that doesn't
- 1:40Speaker 4: earn battling not out, but battling some type of sickness.
- 1:44Speaker 4: And that doesn't even include Jayden Schwartz Jared mccannon, who
- 1:47Speaker 4: were not even available right in the lineup for Seattle.
- 1:51Speaker 4: So when you're already playing essentially down a man coming
- 1:54Speaker 4: into the game, it does make things a lot more difficult.
- 1:56Speaker 4: But I mean a lot of credit to Philip Groubauer
- 1:58Speaker 4: tonight as well. I mean, he made a number of
- 2:01Speaker 4: big saves for Seattle, probably one or two goals he
- 2:04Speaker 4: would love to have back, but it was another strong
- 2:08Speaker 4: performance for him.
- 2:09Speaker 5: And then yeah, I thought so, especially early on in
- 2:10Speaker 5: the game, you know those first two periods, which like
- 2:13Speaker 5: I said, were the best two periods for the cracket.
- 2:15Speaker 5: He was a part of that as well, coming up
- 2:17Speaker 5: with some big saves on not just initial but secondary
- 2:21Speaker 5: opportunities that to Colorado had.
- 2:23Speaker 4: Power play going one for four tonight, So for Seattle
- 2:26Speaker 4: they got power play goals and back to back games
- 2:28Speaker 4: and that's now three four, five six power play goals
- 2:32Speaker 4: in the last five games, so I mean the power
- 2:34Speaker 4: play is coming.
- 2:35Speaker 1: The penalty kill tonight was three for four.
- 2:38Speaker 4: The Avalanche scored on their final power play of the game.
- 2:42Speaker 4: Of course, we're hoping that good things were Brandon Montour,
- 2:44Speaker 4: as he left early in the third period, was announced
- 2:48Speaker 4: he wouldn't return, So some positives for Seattle heading in
- 2:52Speaker 4: the Calgary coming up on Thursday night.
- 2:53Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:54Speaker 5: I always concerning when a player leaves after a skirmish
- 2:56Speaker 5: or you think they're going for stitches and they don't
- 2:58Speaker 5: return to the game. Montre definitely someone that would want
- 3:02Speaker 5: to get back in the fight. So hopefully nothing too
- 3:04Speaker 5: long term for him.
- 3:06Speaker 1: Five three Avalanche win. Now back over to you, yeah exactly.
- 3:09Speaker 5: Key takeaways from me were forty minutes of fantastic hockey
- 3:13Speaker 5: for the Krack and they got bullied a little bit
- 3:15Speaker 5: in the first ten minutes of the third period, but
- 3:17Speaker 5: then battled hard right till the end looking for that
- 3:19Speaker 5: tying goal. With the goal he pulled, we're not able
- 3:23Speaker 5: to do it. Both the power play and the Penley
- 3:25Speaker 5: kill got a little bit better tonight, one for four
- 3:28Speaker 5: on the power play and stopping three of four of
- 3:31Speaker 5: the Colorado power plays, so a little bit better for
- 3:33Speaker 5: both of those. We talked about. Grubauer, his save percentage
- 3:36Speaker 5: ended up being eighty eight nine for the game. I
- 3:38Speaker 5: know he would have liked to have gotten it a
- 3:40Speaker 5: little bit higher, but stopping thirty two of thirty six
- 3:43Speaker 5: and a lot of those big saves came in that
- 3:45Speaker 5: first half of the game. And last key takeaway for
- 3:47Speaker 5: me was Channer Stevenson again a big impact player today.
- 3:50Speaker 5: He's got points now in six games, getting a goal
- 3:53Speaker 5: here tonight. Three stars brought to you by Mama Kay.
- 3:56Speaker 5: That third star does go to Chandler Stevenson with the goal.
- 3:59Speaker 5: He had five shots on goal. fIF the dot and
- 4:03Speaker 5: two hits as well. My man continues to play physical
- 4:05Speaker 5: out there, and I don't know what that's all about.
- 4:07Speaker 4: We were talking about that on Cracking Weekly yesterday. Yeah,
- 4:10Speaker 4: I mean he's been, he's.
- 4:12Speaker 1: Been adding a little bit of a.
- 4:14Speaker 5: Physical Second star goes to Martin Nichis from the Avalanche
- 4:21Speaker 5: to assists plus two and First Star goes to Nathan
- 4:24Speaker 5: McKinnon two goals, one assist, also five shots on ruins.
- 4:28Speaker 4: That'll do it here for us from the rank and
- 4:31Speaker 4: the final time before the holiday break, and we know
- 4:33Speaker 4: that a lot of people around the rink are cleaning
- 4:35Speaker 4: up this place, exiting the facility. So if you're listening,
- 4:38Speaker 4: thank you so much for tuning in the unofficial first
- 4:41Speaker 4: half of the season. Wish everyone out there a very
- 4:44Speaker 4: happy and healthy holiday season, a merry Christmas, a happy Hanukkah,
- 4:49Speaker 4: joyous Kwanza, happy Festivus, whatever you celebrate, realities, happy holidays,
- 4:54Speaker 4: making a good one for those of you leaving the
- 4:56Speaker 4: rink tonight and for the rest of you, we'll see
- 4:58Speaker 4: you coming up on Thursday night in the Calgary Cracking
- 5:02Speaker 4: kicking off a four game Pacific Division road trip Calgary Thursday,
- 5:07Speaker 4: San Jose Saturday and then back to back Monday Tuesday,
- 5:10Speaker 4: Anaheim and Los Angeles. But for now, across the street
- 5:15Speaker 4: to Tom's, Mike Benton standing by to take you the
- 5:17Speaker 4: rest of the way.
- 5:18Speaker 3: All right, guys, certainly we think that the krake and
- 5:20Speaker 3: looking forward to getting back on the road and perhaps
- 5:22Speaker 3: getting back on the road could be a recipe to
- 5:24Speaker 3: get this thing turned around. Where this evening it looks
- 5:27Speaker 3: so good after forty minutes, but of course it is.
- 5:30Speaker 3: As they say, a sixty minute game in the avalanche
- 5:33Speaker 3: of the top record in the NHL is certainly serving
- 5:35Speaker 3: a reminder of that despite cracking goals this evening from
- 5:39Speaker 3: Shane Wright, Jordan Eberley, and Chandler Stevenson, all in period two,
- 5:45Speaker 3: but Colorado outlasting the crack and five three year final

- 8:59Speaker 3: for all of life's adventures. Our toury lekin and put
- 9:03Speaker 3: Colorado up one nothing at twelve nineteen of the first
- 9:07Speaker 3: on deflection goal thirteenth on the season, courtesy Martin Atchiez
- 9:11Speaker 3: and Josh Manson and the Krack and looking for punch
- 9:13Speaker 3: Bag got it. In the second period at three zero three,
- 9:16Speaker 3: Shane Wright crashed the blue paint got his sixth goal
- 9:19Speaker 3: in the season, Yonnie Newman compococo with the assist, the
- 9:23Speaker 3: Kracking non stopping there over five minutes in what could
- 9:26Speaker 3: their leadership do from a similar spot and.
- 9:30Speaker 1: Now the crack in their back age Matty Peers centric
- 9:32Speaker 1: pass in front, want to save the rebound.
- 9:34Speaker 10: The captain starts.
- 9:41Speaker 11: Because he Blackwood a highlight reel save in the high slot.
- 9:46Speaker 11: But it's the captain tournin Everly following up the play.
- 9:50Speaker 1: Seattle with a two on lead in the.
- 9:52Speaker 5: Second well, it's Manny Pittiers down the left side who
- 9:55Speaker 5: was looking for a past.
- 9:56Speaker 1: He found out of lars on the fire side.
- 9:59Speaker 5: Larson with a great shot on gold and she said Blackwood,
- 10:02Speaker 5: which both was gonna be a game savings save makes
- 10:05Speaker 5: it leaves that rebound for the Everly who's crashing.
- 10:09Speaker 1: The dead He puts it in two.
- 10:10Speaker 3: One cracket twenty first goal in forty five career games
- 10:14Speaker 3: against Colorado for the captain. Jordan Eberly has double digits
- 10:18Speaker 3: this year. Five to forty eight into period two, Adam Larsen,
- 10:21Speaker 3: Matty Beniers with the assist and m Kracking getting two
- 10:24Speaker 3: goals with then three feet of the goal line, but
- 10:27Speaker 3: Sam Gerard would tie things up at thirteen twenty nine
- 10:30Speaker 3: first goal of the season off a clapper from the
- 10:33Speaker 3: right circle Valarry Nachushkin Brenton Burns as well with the
- 10:36Speaker 3: assist for the kracking getting a laying power play a
- 10:39Speaker 3: late power play here with Ross Colton off to the
- 10:42Speaker 3: box and the power play looking for a response. In
- 10:45Speaker 3: this second period, once again Kelly, it's over into Steve.
- 10:48Speaker 1: It's at far circle Stevens it looks in.
- 10:51Speaker 11: The middle shot Davie wander through traffic from the right
- 11:03Speaker 11: side and by Blackwood the.
- 11:05Speaker 4: Seattle Crockett on the power play.
- 11:08Speaker 5: Regain the lead three two. Well, this all starts with
- 11:11Speaker 5: a Son incherous speed. Every dishes it over to Stevenson.
- 11:15Speaker 5: They get set upon that half off. Fit's done. Down
- 11:18Speaker 5: to Stevenson, down to twelve Telvenda, down to Stevenson. Stevenson
- 11:22Speaker 5: puts it on dead basin, Marshmans in front for a screen.
- 11:25Speaker 5: I think this one goes straight in three two.
- 11:27Speaker 3: Kracking Crafty played by Chandler Stevenson, who gets the goal
- 11:31Speaker 3: his seventh on the year. In nineteen twenty four. He's
- 11:33Speaker 3: on a six game point streak and the krack and
- 11:35Speaker 3: power play now with goals in four of the last
- 11:38Speaker 3: five games. Elie t Tolvenen Vin's done with the assist
- 11:41Speaker 3: and the Kracking getting quite the plot twist at nineteen
- 11:44Speaker 3: twenty four period two, taking a three to two lead
- 11:47Speaker 3: into the dressing room over Colorado, but of course there
- 11:50Speaker 3: were still twenty minutes to play. Nathan mckinnonside the game
- 11:55Speaker 3: at two forty of the third twenty seventh goal of
- 11:57Speaker 3: the season, Cale mccarr Martin reach with the assist. Unfortunate
- 12:01Speaker 3: on the Krackens side, that shot bouncing right off of
- 12:04Speaker 3: Adam Larson and in and then m Krakens so close
- 12:08Speaker 3: to regaining the lead, but Jordan every stopped on McKenzie
- 12:11Speaker 3: Blackwood on a penalty shot at seven forty nine. Vince
- 12:15Speaker 3: Dunn then going off to the box and the Avalanche
- 12:18Speaker 3: go to work right back in the power play once again.
- 12:21Speaker 4: Here's mccarr left side, mckitnon back to mccar McKinnon again
- 12:26Speaker 4: one timer turned away, the rebound in front and Nelson scores.
- 12:33Speaker 4: Philip Grubauer came to his right to make the save,
- 12:38Speaker 4: a little slow getting back to us left and brought
- 12:42Speaker 4: Nelson punching it in the Avalanche their first power play
- 12:48Speaker 4: goal of the tape.
- 12:51Speaker 1: And they regained the lead. It's now a four to
- 12:55Speaker 1: three Colorado advantage.
- 12:58Speaker 3: Tough one to take as you call that a chain reaction,
- 13:01Speaker 3: the defensive breakdown leading to the penalty, and then it
- 13:04Speaker 3: didn't take long for Colorado to tally on the power
- 13:07Speaker 3: play a twenty five a period three, Rock Nelson getting
- 13:10Speaker 3: his thirteen goal of the season from Nathan McKinnon and
- 13:14Speaker 3: Calee mccarr to make it four to three. Then McKinnon
- 13:17Speaker 3: would make it five three on an empty net goal,
- 13:20Speaker 3: completing a two goal, three point effort in period three,
- 13:23Speaker 3: and McKinnon's twenty eighth on the year to lead the
- 13:26Speaker 3: NHL coming at nineteen thirty six from Valeria Nichushkin and
- 13:30Speaker 3: Gabriel Landeskog to rap matters up Colorado five. Cracking three
- 13:35Speaker 3: is your final score, your final totals right now, shots
- 13:38Speaker 3: on goal even at thirty seven a piece. As we said,
- 13:42Speaker 3: the crack and power play once again finding a way
- 13:44Speaker 3: to cash in. They go one of four, but Colorado
- 13:47Speaker 3: coming up with a big power play goal on their
- 13:49Speaker 3: side as well. They go one for four on the
- 13:51Speaker 3: man advantage, that turning into the eventual game winner. Tough
- 13:55Speaker 3: as well for Philip Grubauer, who have points terrific in
- 13:58Speaker 3: this game and a big reason why the Kraken were
- 14:01Speaker 3: in the conversation, but he takes a loss here in
- 14:03Speaker 3: this one. Mackenzie Blackwood picks up the win, Blackwood turning
- 14:07Speaker 3: in a thirty four save effort to his record, improving
- 14:11Speaker 3: to ten one and one on the season. Grubauer taking
- 14:14Speaker 3: the loss thirty three saves on thirty seven shots. His
- 14:18Speaker 3: record is now four three and one on the campaign.
- 14:22Speaker 3: We'll also keep an eye out here for Brandon Montour
- 14:25Speaker 3: so to speak, once again wrapped up in a scrum
- 14:27Speaker 3: involving him and Brent Burns as well. Montor would not
- 14:30Speaker 3: return as well to the game and the crack and
- 14:32Speaker 3: trying to find a way to plug that hole late
- 14:35Speaker 3: in the third period. Unfortunately unable to rally right back,
- 14:38Speaker 3: and they're hoping that the loss of Brandon Montor certainly
- 14:42Speaker 3: is short lived. Here in this one time now for
- 14:45Speaker 3: the cors Light Chillis moments of the game, Cracking fans,
- 14:47Speaker 3: you can win your chance of sitting the Corslight silver seats.
- 14:50Speaker 3: Go to courselight dot com forward slash Seattle Cranken to
- 14:54Speaker 3: enter must be twenty one years of age. No purchase necessary, cores, light, juice, chill,
- 14:59Speaker 3: se break responsibly. The first period can be a big
- 15:03Speaker 3: tone setter for Colorado a lot this season. And the
- 15:06Speaker 3: Kraken trying to find a way to move momentum right
- 15:10Speaker 3: back against the Avalanche in this situation.
- 15:13Speaker 1: Mason Marshman down the right side, that shot kicked away black.
- 15:17Speaker 4: Blackwood put back over the cage again the Mackenzie Blackwood.
- 15:20Speaker 1: We'll cover that up for the whistle.
- 15:23Speaker 3: That was big because Colorado has been such a good
- 15:26Speaker 3: team as far as getting an early goal for much
- 15:28Speaker 3: of the season. Martin h is also a big part
- 15:30Speaker 3: of that. But the Craken turning Page down the other
- 15:33Speaker 3: way and that was certainly a tone setter from the
- 15:35Speaker 3: get go to get the crack of moving in the
- 15:38Speaker 3: right direction. End of the second period the cracking down
- 15:41Speaker 3: won nothing and again looking for one of their up
- 15:44Speaker 3: and coming forwards to make a big difference in the
- 15:47Speaker 3: area where they want to score a lot of goals
- 15:49Speaker 3: this season.
- 15:50Speaker 1: And now cock O Cocko a three on two back
- 15:52Speaker 1: hit for Seattle.
- 15:53Speaker 4: Cocko cock go to the air side, docked out Shane
- 15:56Speaker 4: Wright fires knocked away by Blackwood rebound.
- 15:58Speaker 1: It's in base go.
- 16:06Speaker 5: Shane right right in front the first shot off the post.
- 16:10Speaker 1: Shane Wright follows up the rebound.
- 16:12Speaker 3: We're tied one.
- 16:14Speaker 1: One, sixteen fifty seven to play in a second.
- 16:18Speaker 5: But great off the rush scoring opportunity for seattlest they
- 16:21Speaker 5: gave offensive zone entry if Shane Wright gets that puck
- 16:26Speaker 5: on debt with.
- 16:27Speaker 10: Joanny Newman going hard the debt, Jonnie.
- 16:29Speaker 5: Newman shovels the puck towards the blue paint, but it's
- 16:32Speaker 5: Right that finds it.
- 16:34Speaker 1: It gets it past Blackwood.
- 16:35Speaker 3: This game is tied at one, and that was big
- 16:37Speaker 3: for Shane Right, who's out of a ten game goal
- 16:39Speaker 3: scoring drought now with that goal. Had a great look
- 16:42Speaker 3: as well back in period three, the McKenzie Blackwood turning
- 16:45Speaker 3: him away, but Shane Wright's skull helping set the tone
- 16:48Speaker 3: for period two for the Kracking offensively digging away in
- 16:52Speaker 3: the blue paint. He got one there. Jordan every also
- 16:55Speaker 3: got one there later on, as Shane Wright's skull tied
- 16:58Speaker 3: the game at one at three three before chaosin suited
- 17:01Speaker 3: offensively in period two and the krakend coming so close
- 17:04Speaker 3: but falling short in period three five to three to Colorado.
- 17:08Speaker 3: Once again your final the big Wins brought to you
- 17:11Speaker 3: by the Evergreen Council on Problem Gambling. We go to
- 17:13Speaker 3: the Motor City with the Red Wings looking to keep
- 17:16Speaker 3: pace at the top of the Atlantic Division.
- 17:19Speaker 10: Raven not a sighter to brink it with a shot.
- 17:21Speaker 10: It's plucked second effort to bring them bop.
- 17:26Speaker 5: It to power play goal in the Red Wings through

- 34:55Speaker 3: was one where you're thinking you're playing well enough, but
- 34:58Speaker 3: you can't push the pucket to the line here for
- 35:01Speaker 3: any kind of finish. And yet that was a game
- 35:04Speaker 3: where you felt like you left so much on the
- 35:06Speaker 3: table for a game like this against Colorado, where we
- 35:10Speaker 3: said two nights ago you had to play nearly the
- 35:13Speaker 3: perfect game. Here's the funny part. They weren't playing the
- 35:15Speaker 3: perfect game, and they still had themselves in position and
- 35:19Speaker 3: nearly pulled this off against Colorado and they walk away
- 35:22Speaker 3: now empty handed.
- 35:22Speaker 24: Yeah, And if you look at like those two games,
- 35:25Speaker 24: it's the perfect dichotomy of the crack in this season
- 35:28Speaker 24: because but against Buffalo, it's like you have the talent
- 35:31Speaker 24: upper hand and you don't have to do much to
- 35:34Speaker 24: really get yourself in position to win the game and
- 35:37Speaker 24: play a better hockey game, and they just I think
- 35:40Speaker 24: they almost took it for granted in that game. But
- 35:42Speaker 24: in this one in Colorado, they knew they were going
- 35:44Speaker 24: up against a juggernaut and an historically really really good team,
- 35:48Speaker 24: and they played a good enough hockey game for the
- 35:50Speaker 24: majority of this game to win the game. And it's
- 35:53Speaker 24: just little moments in the game, whether it's the penalty
- 35:55Speaker 24: kill at the end, whether it's the penalty shot missed.
- 35:58Speaker 24: There's lots of little moments and point two that they
- 36:02Speaker 24: didn't get it done. And that's what it comes down
- 36:04Speaker 24: to against these really really good teams with tons of fires,
- 36:07Speaker 24: and if.
- 36:07Speaker 3: You want to have a chance in this game, you
- 36:08Speaker 3: had to find a way to get again goals and
- 36:11Speaker 3: get action as well, right back at the front of
- 36:13Speaker 3: the net. And you know, you go right there in
- 36:15Speaker 3: period one very early on, and I think for me again,
- 36:18Speaker 3: the oh no, hold on moment was right at the
- 36:20Speaker 3: opening face off. Colorado was so good historically in getting
- 36:24Speaker 3: a goal in the first ninety seconds the first sixty
- 36:27Speaker 3: seconds as well, and guess who they put out the
- 36:29Speaker 3: McKinnon line. Your first big test came right smack at
- 36:32Speaker 3: the opening bell on the Crack and nearly put one
- 36:35Speaker 3: away to make it one nothing. But then the second
- 36:37Speaker 3: period told us a lot as far as where they
- 36:39Speaker 3: got to go for offense. Shane Wright found one, Jordan
- 36:42Speaker 3: Eberley also found one, and for Everly that was a
- 36:45Speaker 3: leadership goal. And I think once again I go back
- 36:47Speaker 3: to this a template, a template here for the first
- 36:50Speaker 3: ten minutes, and that's how you have to play game
- 36:53Speaker 3: in and game out this season.
- 36:55Speaker 24: Yeah, it's just it's one of those where we probably
- 36:58Speaker 24: said it too far off to the season where you
- 37:00Speaker 24: don't want to talk about moral victories or anything like that, right,
- 37:02Speaker 24: and when you're in a skid like the Crack and
- 37:04Speaker 24: are right now, you can't really take moral victories because
- 37:07Speaker 24: the result is the only thing that matters. But if
- 37:09Speaker 24: you're talking about a blueprint to continue to play that
- 37:13Speaker 24: way and to start to get results in other games today,
- 37:17Speaker 24: is one of those days where I think the Cracking
- 37:19Speaker 24: can model a lot of what they did and they'll
- 37:23Speaker 24: start to get they'll turn it around.
- 37:24Speaker 10: They will definitely turn it around.
- 37:26Speaker 24: This Avalanche team, like you said, you have to play perfect,
- 37:29Speaker 24: and they didn't tonight, but it was about as close
- 37:31Speaker 24: to perfect as we've seen them play in the last
- 37:33Speaker 24: couple of weeks.
- 37:33Speaker 3: It kind of gives you a little bit of solace.
- 37:35Speaker 3: And again you're not looking for moral victories. And this
- 37:37Speaker 3: because the gap just got wider and the Cracker and
- 37:39Speaker 3: are going to go to bed seven points back of
- 37:41Speaker 3: the cut line here in the Western Conference, and we're
- 37:44Speaker 3: just about and right now nine days away from Christmas.
- 37:46Speaker 3: So again, you gotta get it going here very very
- 37:49Speaker 3: very quick, because I think we all know the deeper
- 37:52Speaker 3: you get, the more urgent that every game certainly turns
- 37:55Speaker 3: into as far as a level. But I go back
- 37:58Speaker 3: and think of if you can keep the read to
- 38:00Speaker 3: a preferably to one, you're you're in a good spot.
- 38:03Speaker 10: You have to stay out of the box.
- 38:04Speaker 3: But yet in Colorado you give them a couple of
- 38:06Speaker 3: power plays, especially in the second period, and the Krack
- 38:10Speaker 3: can find their way out of it. You think They've
- 38:12Speaker 3: got a puncher's chance here in this one, and yet
- 38:14Speaker 3: they get three goals, took a three to two lead.
- 38:17Speaker 3: You had to figure the Avalanche were coming, Yeah, and
- 38:19Speaker 3: they were. I think we all saw once again why
- 38:22Speaker 3: Nathan McKinnon is in the conversation for best player on
- 38:25Speaker 3: the entire planet right now. He's got an extra gear.
- 38:28Speaker 3: But I think to me, the big plot twist, the
- 38:31Speaker 3: difference maker in this one, the Jordan Everly penalty shot.
- 38:34Speaker 3: That one stuff.
- 38:35Speaker 24: Yeah, it's unfortunate because you hate to pin so much
- 38:38Speaker 24: of it on one guy and making one play to
- 38:41Speaker 24: kind of put this game away. But that would have
- 38:44Speaker 24: I think done that to be completely honest, and Jordan
- 38:47Speaker 24: owned it after the game. We'll hear from him a
- 38:49Speaker 24: little bit in a second, but he talked about how
- 38:54Speaker 24: he needs to do that and that that's those are
- 38:56Speaker 24: the plays that you need to make. And we we
- 38:58Speaker 24: talk about playing perfectly again Colorado. Hitting those penalty shots
- 39:02Speaker 24: is what's gonna, you know, make the difference in the game.
- 39:05Speaker 24: Not giving the puck away to start a power play
- 39:09Speaker 24: to have the game winning goal for Colorado and late.
- 39:12Speaker 10: In the third period.
- 39:13Speaker 24: It's those little plays that maybe against lesser teams you
- 39:16Speaker 24: don't get punished. But when you have the McKinnon's, the mccars,
- 39:19Speaker 24: the natchis Is, the Landeskogs and the Chusians, there's so
- 39:22Speaker 24: many people that can burn you. Brock Nelson ended up
- 39:25Speaker 24: getting the game winning goal for Colorado. You just can't
- 39:28Speaker 24: give them more and more opportunities. And the Kracking right
- 39:30Speaker 24: now are doing.
- 39:31Speaker 3: That because again you figured that. You know, if you're
- 39:33Speaker 3: gonna try to key on something again, you want to
- 39:37Speaker 3: focus on their depth. There's a huge drop off on
- 39:40Speaker 3: the avalanche side with goals scoring. And again, the only
- 39:43Speaker 3: thing that's gonna sink in that case is say if
- 39:45Speaker 3: McKinnon or Kale mccar go wild and they did him,
- 39:48Speaker 3: they weren't getting that extra gear first, a second perier
- 39:50Speaker 3: and you thought the Kraken had that puncher's chance. As
- 39:53Speaker 3: a result, they were looking flusher, but then mistakes opening
- 39:56Speaker 3: up scoring opportunities here for Colorado, and when their depth
- 40:00Speaker 3: starts to get things going and they kick in, that's
- 40:03Speaker 3: where you're in danger.
- 40:04Speaker 10: Yeah, And there's two ways to kind of look at
- 40:06Speaker 10: games like this.
- 40:07Speaker 24: There's there's the kind of the like we talked about
- 40:09Speaker 24: the blueprint and and the way you play generally, you
- 40:12Speaker 24: were creating chances, you were defending well. Uh and the
- 40:16Speaker 24: general play of the team I think was good enough tonight,
- 40:19Speaker 24: Absolutely good enough on most nights that will get you
- 40:21Speaker 24: two points. But it's the little things in big moments
- 40:26Speaker 24: that made the biggest difference. And sometimes you play really
- 40:30Speaker 24: well but then have a couple of mistakes that burn you.
- 40:32Speaker 24: And sometimes you don't play really well, but you don't
- 40:34Speaker 24: make the big mistake and you come out on top.
- 40:37Speaker 24: It's it's one of those situations where the crack and
- 40:39Speaker 24: can't seem to put it all together for sixty minutes
- 40:43Speaker 24: in this stretch that they've been on lately. So until
- 40:46Speaker 24: they figure how to do that, they're gonna continue to
- 40:49Speaker 24: drop points here and there. And hopefully, like I said,
- 40:51Speaker 24: if they play like they did tonight on Thursday, they're
- 40:54Speaker 24: gonna win. They're gonna win. They're gonna win the game.
- 40:56Speaker 24: But unfortunately they just can't put it all together.
- 40:59Speaker 3: Right now, you're down there, what was the mood in
- 41:01Speaker 3: the room and how do we read into it?
- 41:03Speaker 10: Man, that was a weird situation. I have been covering
- 41:05Speaker 10: cracking games.
- 41:06Speaker 24: This would be my third year of you know, being
- 41:09Speaker 24: a presence in the locker room and kind of around
- 41:11Speaker 24: players and coaches at a semi regular basis. And that's
- 41:15Speaker 24: the weirdest situation that I've been around. Lane Lambert was
- 41:19Speaker 24: very you heard him, We just heard it in the
- 41:22Speaker 24: last segment of Network post game, very one word answer.
- 41:26Speaker 24: They only took questions from one guy, even though there
- 41:28Speaker 24: was a cue of questions from a bunch of different people.
- 41:32Speaker 24: He just wasn't having any of it tonight. And I
- 41:34Speaker 24: don't know, I can't speculate to what's going on in
- 41:37Speaker 24: that locker room. I think it's going around a little
- 41:39Speaker 24: bit though, because it's frustration that's building up. They feel
- 41:43Speaker 24: like they should have won this game, and it's a
- 41:45Speaker 24: feeling that is happening far too often where they're making
- 41:48Speaker 24: mistakes even though they're playing well enough to win games,
- 41:52Speaker 24: but the mistakes are just kind of preventing them from
- 41:55Speaker 24: getting those two points night in and night out. So
- 41:57Speaker 24: I think maybe it was just frustration boiling over for
- 42:01Speaker 24: Lane Lambert.
- 42:01Speaker 10: But I don't know.
- 42:02Speaker 24: Well, we'll see kind of in the next days, hours, weeks,
- 42:06Speaker 24: you know, what is looking like is happening. But something
- 42:09Speaker 24: has to change because they're continuing to skid and it's
- 42:12Speaker 24: not good enough right now.
- 42:13Speaker 3: One win in ten games right now, that's where they're cranking.
- 42:16Speaker 3: Are at four nine four or five one Texas right
- 42:18Speaker 3: now in the KJR tex line again four nine four
- 42:20Speaker 3: five one. We're gonna also hear from Jordan Everley later
- 42:23Speaker 3: on here one here for the four to two five,
- 42:25Speaker 3: asking about any updates on Brandon Montor and unfortunately he
- 42:29Speaker 3: can't have the best player go down like that. That
- 42:31Speaker 3: from the four to two five. And in case folks
- 42:33Speaker 3: you missed a Lane Lambert, we heard him toward the
- 42:37Speaker 3: very end of our network coverage as well, he said
- 42:39Speaker 3: no update right now on Brandon Montor. He was involved
- 42:42Speaker 3: in that scrap at Brent Burns. But I mean, as
- 42:45Speaker 3: of right now, you're holding your breath, Andrews. I think
- 42:47Speaker 3: we all saw the effects of when you aren't able
- 42:50Speaker 3: to put the guy we're in sixty two on the ice,
- 42:53Speaker 3: especially for a critical third period where any big play
- 42:57Speaker 3: can result in a game twisting goal and get that
- 43:00Speaker 3: thing tied up.
- 43:01Speaker 22: Well.
- 43:01Speaker 24: It's funny because he's kind of the emotional leader on
- 43:04Speaker 24: this team, it feels like, and he responds in big
- 43:07Speaker 24: moments when his team needs him and in that moment,
- 43:09Speaker 24: he responded to when his team needed him. When Mason
- 43:12Speaker 24: Marchman went to the goal, got pushed into the goalpost,
- 43:15Speaker 24: that was a little bit of a cheap shot.
- 43:16Speaker 10: And then Brent Burns comes in.
- 43:18Speaker 24: Brandon Montur's standing up for his guy, and you could
- 43:20Speaker 24: tell there was an energy that was infused into the team.
- 43:22Speaker 24: But then because of the moment that Brandon Montour steps in,
- 43:26Speaker 24: he's unable to play for the rest of the game,
- 43:29Speaker 24: and you were missing that presence, the guy that's just
- 43:31Speaker 24: there in the big moments to answer the bell, whether
- 43:34Speaker 24: that's a goal, a hit, a block, shot, a key pass,
- 43:38Speaker 24: a back check, there's so many different things that he
- 43:40Speaker 24: does well for this team, and unfortunately, yeah, you're right,
- 43:44Speaker 24: they hurt not having him out there in the last
- 43:47Speaker 24: few minutes of the game.
- 43:48Speaker 3: Again, fifty four seconds into period three, Brent Burns double
- 43:53Speaker 3: minor for roughing Mason Marchmant, double minor for roughing Josh Manson,
- 43:57Speaker 3: double minor for roughing. Same goes for Brandon Montour as
- 44:01Speaker 3: well in the crack and again losing him in period three.
- 44:04Speaker 3: Lane Lambert with no update as far as what he
- 44:06Speaker 3: said on montor right now by the end of the
- 44:09Speaker 3: knife from the four to two five is saying great game,
- 44:11Speaker 3: great effort here by the boys, but disappointing as a
- 44:14Speaker 3: result here with a bit of an annoyance as well.
- 44:16Speaker 3: They held their own against the best team in the league.
- 44:19Speaker 3: That rematch years should be fun that from the four
- 44:22Speaker 3: to two five. It's not gonna happen though until March,
- 44:25Speaker 3: and if you're the cracking right now, you're hoping that
- 44:27Speaker 3: you can get your game geared right back up for
- 44:29Speaker 3: the one in Colorado, which they're hoping it matters, and
- 44:32Speaker 3: that will be the regular season finale. It's crazy here
- 44:35Speaker 3: to think that they're not gonna go to Colorado until
- 44:38Speaker 3: game eighty two of the regular season. That's really weird.
- 44:41Speaker 24: His schedule is always weird, and the manners crying out exactly,
- 44:44Speaker 24: and it feels like every NHL team's complaining about the schedule,
- 44:48Speaker 24: whether it's back to backs here or four game weeks there,
- 44:51Speaker 24: six game road trips, whatever it is. I don't think
- 44:53Speaker 24: anyone has more to complain about the the Kraken based
- 44:55Speaker 24: on their travel schedule, but it's I don't know, this
- 45:00Speaker 24: team doesn't feel like in terms of if we're zooming
- 45:02Speaker 24: in game by game basis, it doesn't feel like they're
- 45:05Speaker 24: that far away from being where they need to be. Well,
- 45:08Speaker 24: obviously you can zoom out look at you know, the
- 45:11Speaker 24: roster construction, all that kind of stuff. We'll take, we'll
- 45:14Speaker 24: look at those questions when the offseason comes around. But
- 45:17Speaker 24: right now, on a game by game basis, it just
- 45:19Speaker 24: seems like it's little things that are keeping them from
- 45:22Speaker 24: getting the two points night in a night out.
- 45:24Speaker 3: Some reaction here from Twitter and X with Phil chiming
- 45:27Speaker 3: in saying cracking got more energy, got more grit here
- 45:30Speaker 3: for this evening, but the moments where high skills team prevails,
- 45:33Speaker 3: the Apps just got it done here for this evening. Again,
- 45:36Speaker 3: that from Phil on Twitter and next even saying injuries
- 45:39Speaker 3: are beginning to show right now. Losing top scores. Yeah,
- 45:42Speaker 3: unfortunately it's a mismatch against a fire powered team. That
- 45:46Speaker 3: from Stephen on Twitter and X. Again, it seems like
- 45:49Speaker 3: that we're just kind of refreshing the question here each
- 45:51Speaker 3: and every night, how much does this team miss Jared
- 45:54Speaker 3: McCann and Jayden Schwartz as well. We ran these numbers
- 45:58Speaker 3: again back in pregame. That's right now, find seventeen percent
- 46:01Speaker 3: of your entire goal scoring with McCann and Schwartz out
- 46:04Speaker 3: of the lineup.
- 46:04Speaker 24: Yeah, and when you're a team built on depth, as
- 46:06Speaker 24: the Krack and are, they're not gonna have the forty
- 46:09Speaker 24: goals scorers or the point per game one hundred point guy.
- 46:13Speaker 24: You're built on a bunch of guys contributing night in
- 46:17Speaker 24: and night out. You don't know who it's gonna be.
- 46:19Speaker 24: When you're missing a few of those guys, that takes
- 46:21Speaker 24: away from the depth. And one nice thing about having
- 46:26Speaker 24: the high skill Nathan McKinnon's of the world. Obviously every
- 46:29Speaker 24: team wants them, but it's harder to find them is
- 46:31Speaker 24: you can go through injuries but rely on a guy
- 46:33Speaker 24: night in and night out to provide create offense. Yea
- 46:37Speaker 24: and the Kracking unfortunately don't have that right now. So
- 46:40Speaker 24: and it's not the worst thing in the world when
- 46:42Speaker 24: you do have all of your guys, when you have
- 46:44Speaker 24: the Jared McCanns, the Jane Schwartz is right, but right
- 46:47Speaker 24: now they don't, so you can't. You don't have something
- 46:49Speaker 24: to rely on when you're playing poorly, when you have
- 46:53Speaker 24: guys injured to just come in and make a difference
- 46:55Speaker 24: and be like, no I'm carrying us over the finish line.
- 46:57Speaker 24: They don't have one of those.
- 46:58Speaker 3: So this is also a game I would have been
- 47:00Speaker 3: really curious to see Berkeley Catton and how he would
- 47:03Speaker 3: have been reacting here, because if there's one thing that
- 47:05Speaker 3: Lane Lambert from what I have you know and just
- 47:08Speaker 3: in learning about this, is that if you're a player
- 47:11Speaker 3: as a center, I mean this goes for every every
- 47:13Speaker 3: guy like Chandler ste even Send, Maddy Vanier, Shane Wright
- 47:16Speaker 3: as well. If you can handle the puck with confidence,
- 47:19Speaker 3: you're gonna get more playing time. That justifies you getting
- 47:22Speaker 3: top six icee time. That to me is the reason
- 47:24Speaker 3: why Berkeley Catton was getting more ice time before he
- 47:27Speaker 3: was knocked out with his injury. But you see more
- 47:29Speaker 3: assertedness in his game, more confidence here with the puck.
- 47:33Speaker 3: But this would have been so much fun to see
- 47:35Speaker 3: him wheel against Colorado, of course with some restraints as well,
- 47:39Speaker 3: but for a player where you've got to play confident
- 47:41Speaker 3: against the very confident team.
- 47:42Speaker 24: Yeah, and a team that allows open ice like Colorado
- 47:45Speaker 24: does because they wanted to be a back and forth
- 47:46Speaker 24: game and.
- 47:46Speaker 3: They were getting killed at one point in transition exactly.
- 47:49Speaker 24: And that's one of the reasons why I think the
- 47:51Speaker 24: Crack can actually match up pretty well against Colorado all
- 47:54Speaker 24: things considered, right, they are a very good team. But
- 47:56Speaker 24: I think this type of team that the Crack and
- 47:58Speaker 24: play against the fast back and fourteen, they can stay
- 48:00Speaker 24: in those games pretty well, especially for goaltending plays like
- 48:03Speaker 24: I did tonight. By the way, Philip Grubauer, we're gonna
- 48:05Speaker 24: get to more asuable efforts. So yeah, I think it
- 48:08Speaker 24: would have been nice to see Berkeley Catton in this game.
- 48:10Speaker 24: Another playing on the youngsters theme, I was very impressed
- 48:13Speaker 24: with Yannie Newman tonight.
- 48:14Speaker 10: Yeah, I think he was getting in the dirty areas. Now.
- 48:17Speaker 24: I know his skating is a little left to be desired,
- 48:20Speaker 24: so to speak, but I love his NetFront presence. He
- 48:24Speaker 24: takes shots, he hits guys. I like to see him
- 48:28Speaker 24: play a little bit more. He was part of that
- 48:29Speaker 24: Shane Wright line that had a lot of success tonight.
- 48:33Speaker 24: It was him, Cocko and Wright, and I think all
- 48:35Speaker 24: three of those guys had good, good games that you
- 48:37Speaker 24: could be proud of tonight. So I'm interested to see
- 48:40Speaker 24: how that kind of lends itself to development, because he
- 48:43Speaker 24: could be one of those guys where it's like you're
- 48:44Speaker 24: looking for a finisher right now, especially without Jared McCann.
- 48:48Speaker 10: If he starts to shoot the puck four or.
- 48:49Speaker 24: Five times a night like shots on goal, I mean,
- 48:52Speaker 24: obviously you're gonna have more shot attempts, but I hope
- 48:56Speaker 24: that that's gonna be something where he can build off
- 48:58Speaker 24: of that in his career.
- 48:59Speaker 3: As manas ice time for him eleven twenty six, five
- 49:02Speaker 3: shot attempts as well, with three shots on that. But
- 49:04Speaker 3: it was a little plays I saw with them using
- 49:06Speaker 3: his big body that's so effective when you face a
- 49:09Speaker 3: team like the Colorado Avalanche, where I mean, hey, no surprise,
- 49:12Speaker 3: Nathan McKinnon. You give him chances to give him open ice,
- 49:15Speaker 3: he's gonna do what he does best. Two goals, three
- 49:18Speaker 3: points all in period three. He had twelve shot attempts
- 49:22Speaker 3: in this game, my goodness. And then Calee mccarr in
- 49:26Speaker 3: just twenty two minutes and forty eight seconds of ice time,
- 49:29Speaker 3: light night for him, he had two assists as well.
- 49:32Speaker 24: Yeah, it's just it's funny because you mentioned that they
- 49:35Speaker 24: weren't necessarily hitting their stride going all out. It seemed
- 49:39Speaker 24: like they weren't taking over the game like they normally
- 49:42Speaker 24: can and then you look at the box score, it's like, oh,
- 49:44Speaker 24: two points here, two points there, just on a light night. Yeah,
- 49:47Speaker 24: light knights worked for Nathan McKinnon to two points, ten
- 49:50Speaker 24: shot attempts or twelve. I guess you should say, I
- 49:53Speaker 24: just it's crazy, man, how good these guys are, how
- 49:55Speaker 24: much they drive offense. I also think Jared Benar from
- 49:58Speaker 24: Colorado deserves a lot of credit. He puts in really
- 50:00Speaker 24: good situations. But the Kracking weather the storm. For the
- 50:05Speaker 24: majority of tonight, it was just I keep going back
- 50:08Speaker 24: to little mistakes, and I think Lane Lambert is starting
- 50:11Speaker 24: to get a little bit frustrated with those kind of
- 50:14Speaker 24: coming up because the way you play, you played well
- 50:18Speaker 24: enough to win this game.
- 50:19Speaker 3: And if you if you do something, your right thing
- 50:21Speaker 3: is to say the first period once again as a
- 50:23Speaker 3: blueprint for how you've got to operate and play game
- 50:26Speaker 3: after game after game. You take the loss. It's tough here,
- 50:29Speaker 3: but you've got to save something here from from this one.
- 50:31Speaker 24: And by the way, something that has been a trend
- 50:33Speaker 24: during this stretch that was stopped tonight was the poor starts.
- 50:37Speaker 24: The Kracking came out ready to play. You mentioned it
- 50:39Speaker 24: on that first shift, almost getting a goal themselves. They
- 50:43Speaker 24: it seemed like they had a little fire underneath them.
- 50:46Speaker 24: Maybe it was from the motivation from the last couple
- 50:49Speaker 24: of weeks. Maybe it's more of a hey, we we
- 50:52Speaker 24: need to start getting results for the way we're playing.
- 50:55Speaker 10: But that is a trend that was bucked tonight, so
- 50:58Speaker 10: I was happy to see that.
- 51:00Speaker 3: Mike Benton Andrews searst with you. We'll take a break.
- 51:02Speaker 3: More reaction, including Captain Jordan Everley coming up after this.
- 51:06Speaker 3: This is Talking Cracking on ninety three to three KJRFM.
- 51:10Speaker 2: If you've got to come in about tonight's cracking game,
- 51:12Speaker 2: make sure we hear about it. Just text us at
- 51:15Speaker 2: four nine four five one. Now back to Tucking Kracking
- 51:19Speaker 2: with Mike Benton on Sports Radio ninety three point three
- 51:23Speaker 2: kJ r FM.
- 51:24Speaker 3: Five to three. Crack and follow the Colorado Avalanches. We're
- 51:27Speaker 3: back live, but Tom's watchbar Mike Benton Andrews first, also
- 51:30Speaker 3: along here for the ride. Let's check in here for
- 51:32Speaker 3: more reaction earlier tonight yours Captain Jordan Eberley after the game,
- 51:40Speaker 3: how the Cracking are back.
- 51:44Speaker 25: Its obviously not the results you want, but I thought
- 51:46Speaker 25: you guys are up pretty well.
- 51:47Speaker 1: What do you see from the start you guys had tonight.
- 51:50Speaker 25: Yeah, I mentioned the most part we played their game
- 51:53Speaker 25: were with him. You know, comes down to I'm miss
- 51:57Speaker 25: sim Philly shot plus would.
- 51:58Speaker 2: Take the lead and.
- 52:00Speaker 3: They score, uh a power play right after.
- 52:03Speaker 10: I mean it's the difference right there.
- 52:05Speaker 25: These games are tight. I think most of the games
- 52:07Speaker 25: have been you know, a mistake here, capitalize on chance here,
- 52:11Speaker 25: and tonight came down from me that. I mean, I
- 52:13Speaker 25: gotta find a way.
- 52:14Speaker 1: To put that in and give speed.
- 52:17Speaker 22: Join you go ahead.
- 52:19Speaker 2: You guys are you know, get one of the power play.
- 52:21Speaker 11: But just their special teams and you know, Apparently what
- 52:23Speaker 11: makes it them so tough to you know.
- 52:25Speaker 1: Break through.
- 52:26Speaker 25: I mean they're aggressive. They you gotta move the put
- 52:29Speaker 25: quick and I mean they're I think they're number one.
- 52:31Speaker 1: In the league.
- 52:32Speaker 25: So you know, they they just they connected. They they
- 52:34Speaker 25: pressure and the pressure and the pressure you gotta just
- 52:36Speaker 25: move it quick. So I mean we were able to
- 52:38Speaker 25: find one.
- 52:39Speaker 10: But obviously you get a chance.
- 52:41Speaker 25: You know that the apparently shot too. But yeah, I
- 52:45Speaker 25: mean it's just for us right now. It's coming down to,
- 52:47Speaker 25: you know, work every game, it's just one play here,
- 52:50Speaker 25: one play there, capitalize and where it's going the wrong
- 52:52Speaker 25: way course.
- 52:52Speaker 22: Right now, join you guy. A strong knight from Philip
- 52:55Speaker 22: Grubauer again you missed liked what he did tonight.
- 52:58Speaker 3: Yeah, he played well.
- 52:59Speaker 25: He gives chance to win for sure.
- 53:00Speaker 10: It made some huge shaves.
- 53:02Speaker 3: He's done that earlier. That's the word from Captain Jordan
- 53:07Speaker 3: Everley earlier this evening as a crack and fall five
- 53:10Speaker 3: to three here to the Colorado Avalanche, a little bit
- 53:12Speaker 3: of looking inside himself, but also you can send some
- 53:15Speaker 3: accountability that once again is shared across this room. Again,
- 53:19Speaker 3: Mike Bent and andrews Hurst with you. One of my
- 53:20Speaker 3: favorite phrases from him is the line is super razor thin,
- 53:26Speaker 3: just paraphrasing this as far as the margin of air
- 53:29Speaker 3: here in the NHL. And again we're just kind of
- 53:32Speaker 3: refreshing this point where it just seems as if there
- 53:35Speaker 3: were a few more mistakes where you could think, oh,
- 53:38Speaker 3: this might be the point of doom. But yet the
- 53:40Speaker 3: Kraken found a way for opportunity against a team where
- 53:43Speaker 3: you can't make many mistakes against. And the prescription was
- 53:46Speaker 3: nearly mistake free, perfect game hockey. And that's how so
- 53:50Speaker 3: close they were here for tonight.
- 53:51Speaker 24: Yeah, and it's unfortunate that it feels like the Crack
- 53:55Speaker 24: can have to play a perfect game of hockey to
- 53:57Speaker 24: come away with victories right now.
- 53:59Speaker 10: But that's the reality of it.
- 54:00Speaker 24: And sometimes when you're in these like ruts you have,
- 54:04Speaker 24: it's little things that turn into that start to snowball,
- 54:07Speaker 24: that turn into big moments and it just seems like
- 54:09Speaker 24: everything is kind of going against you and you can't.
- 54:12Speaker 24: You have to do everything you can to avoid those
- 54:14Speaker 24: little moments to try and get out of it. And
- 54:18Speaker 24: then when you're you're playing well, it seems like even
- 54:20Speaker 24: if you make a mistake, it's not it doesn't come
- 54:23Speaker 24: back to bite you. And then other teams, you know,
- 54:26Speaker 24: mistakes get magnified, right, So you just go through those
- 54:29Speaker 24: lolls during a season. But he's completely right, especially the
- 54:33Speaker 24: way this team is constructed. They play low event hockey,
- 54:37Speaker 24: they have to avoid they try to play, they try
- 54:40Speaker 24: to be hard to play against. And when you're kind
- 54:43Speaker 24: of built that way and you give up too many opportunities,
- 54:46Speaker 24: it's it's gonna be tough to get overcome at that point.
- 54:49Speaker 3: More reaction from Twitter and x from the handle w
- 54:53Speaker 3: h or a w Harrison fifty one. They were a
- 54:55Speaker 3: lot more fun to watch the night, but key mistakes
- 54:57Speaker 3: and key moments doom them yet here for this evening
- 55:00Speaker 3: and for the Handle Warrior Underscore Coast, Shane Wright's got
- 55:03Speaker 3: to play more. Philip Grubauer has earned more starts here
- 55:06Speaker 3: and the start of the season. Unfortunately it just slipped
- 55:10Speaker 3: by the wayside here for the Crack and I did
- 55:12Speaker 3: want to touch on Groubarier because we're getting short on time.
- 55:14Speaker 3: But this evening look fantastic and now you get I
- 55:18Speaker 3: think you believe he's back in the conversation for more starts,
- 55:22Speaker 3: especially with the krack in facing a crunch schedule before
- 55:25Speaker 3: and after the holiday break. Yeah.
- 55:26Speaker 24: Look, I'm a huge Joey fan, but and I've been
- 55:30Speaker 24: a huge fan of him being the undisputed number one.
- 55:33Speaker 24: But the way Philip Gruenbauer's played his last three four
- 55:35Speaker 24: or five starts, he's deserved to get some more time
- 55:38Speaker 24: in the crease.
- 55:38Speaker 10: So I definitely think that's in the conversation.
- 55:43Speaker 24: He's keeping you in games and he's playing to the
- 55:46Speaker 24: level of a starting goaltender right now.
- 55:48Speaker 3: I really didn't find much fault on the first goal.
- 55:51Speaker 3: From my angle, it looked like that like an instead
- 55:53Speaker 3: of screen the crack It had a defender as well
- 55:56Speaker 3: in the lanes, so you can't fault in for that one.
- 55:59Speaker 3: The second goal maybe maybe not.
- 56:01Speaker 10: It was open.
- 56:02Speaker 3: It was an open look for Sam Gerrard. But the
- 56:04Speaker 3: third one as well, that's nearly impossible, where a shot
- 56:07Speaker 3: on the Kinnon which was going wide that all of
- 56:09Speaker 3: a sudden takes a weird care him off of Adam Marson.
- 56:11Speaker 24: And then well, and you're facing a team that I
- 56:14Speaker 24: think average is the most shots in the NHL, in
- 56:15Speaker 24: the Colorado Avalanche. So the more just in terms of
- 56:19Speaker 24: quantity that you're facing, you're bound to let in more
- 56:22Speaker 24: and more, which is another reason why you want to
- 56:24Speaker 24: start create more offense. Right it's a quantity versus quality
- 56:27Speaker 24: sort of situation, so you're bound to have that happen.
- 56:31Speaker 24: As save percentage was still above nine hundred tonight, and
- 56:33Speaker 24: I absolutely I think that's good enough. And I know
- 56:36Speaker 24: that's kind of a basic statistic to look at, but
- 56:39Speaker 24: he kept doing this game and he gave you a
- 56:40Speaker 24: chance to win.
- 56:41Speaker 3: So here's where the Kracken want to get the U turn,
- 56:43Speaker 3: going against Calgary, a team who has been struggling. That's
- 56:46Speaker 3: up next here as they open a four game road
- 56:48Speaker 3: trip ben Calgary on Thursday night. They had one four
- 56:52Speaker 3: or five to catch up with the Kraken, but San
- 56:54Speaker 3: Jose stopped them dead in their tracks. And Dustin wolf
- 56:57Speaker 3: the former ever a Silverton, he had been struggling to
- 57:00Speaker 3: begin the season. Calgary was in the basement and maybe
- 57:03Speaker 3: even in Gavin the Kenna talk here for the NHL Draft,
- 57:06Speaker 3: But Wolfe's a big reason why he dried them right
- 57:08Speaker 3: back into the race, but before they lost earlier this
- 57:11Speaker 3: evening here to San Jose.
- 57:12Speaker 24: Yeah, kind of the opposite of the cracking season, right
- 57:14Speaker 24: they start off really really cold and they've really come
- 57:16Speaker 24: onto it as of late. So hopefully that's a good
- 57:18Speaker 24: time for the Cracking to get back off the schnight again.
- 57:20Speaker 3: San Jose six Calgary three was your final score. And
- 57:24Speaker 3: because San Jose won that game again to remind you
- 57:26Speaker 3: of the Kraken right now seven points back of the
- 57:29Speaker 3: cut line by the end of the saving record now
- 57:32Speaker 3: twelve thirteen and six thirty points, the Kings and Sharks
- 57:36Speaker 3: sharing thirty seven points for the two wildcard spots right
- 57:39Speaker 3: now in the Western Conference. Colorado with a win tonight,
- 57:42Speaker 3: improving to twenty four to two and seven on the
- 57:46Speaker 3: campaign Andrews, time was short, it flew by, and let's
- 57:50Speaker 3: get you back on here hopefully on the more two
- 57:52Speaker 3: point terms in the crackt Yeah.
- 57:54Speaker 10: Let's hope we start to bring some better luck our way.
- 57:57Speaker 3: Thanks for having me on, Mike anytime, you're gonna be
- 57:59Speaker 3: jumping back your looking forward to it as well. That
- 58:01Speaker 3: we'll do it from here friends again, thank you for
- 58:03Speaker 3: your reaction. Our thanks also to Travis Mulger, technical director,
- 58:06Speaker 3: Terry Ryan, our on site engineer, as that will do
- 58:09Speaker 3: it for here. For Andrewshurst, this is Mike Benton and
- 58:12Speaker 3: for Everett Now saying goodnight from Climbing Pledge Arena and
- 58:16Speaker 3: Tom's Watchbar. Thank you for joining us. Your final score
- 58:19Speaker 3: once again before a sold out crowd of seventeen thousand,
- 58:22Speaker 3: one point fifty one, the Colorado Avalanche five and the
- 58:26Speaker 3: Seattle Kraken three. This is Tucking Kraken on ninety three
- 58:30Speaker 3: to three KJRFM
