- 0:30Speaker 1: It's Billy the Kid. Candace Lopez is here. Producer Poo
- 0:33Speaker 1: is here. It's one of those days where, you know
- 0:35Speaker 1: how there's national days that I always make fun of?
- 0:37Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 0:38Speaker 1: Like today's National Blah Blah Day.
- 0:39Speaker 2: It is?
- 0:40Speaker 1: Well, I always get a list. Well, I wish it
- 0:41Speaker 1: was Blah Blah Day.
- 0:42Speaker 5: Oh, I thought you meant it was literally Blah Blah Day.
- 0:46Speaker 1: I'm so excited to hear what that is. It is, Candace.
- 0:49Speaker 3: Okay.
- 0:49Speaker 1: We'll just name that because every other thing gets a day.
- 0:52Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 0:52Speaker 1: No, today's actually National Double Cheeseburger Day.
- 0:55Speaker 2: Oh.
- 0:55Speaker 5: Oh, wow.
- 0:56Speaker 1: It's National.
- 0:57Speaker 5: I'm going to rub it in. You guys can have cheese.
- 0:59Speaker 1: National Cheese Toast Day.
- 1:01Speaker 5: Oh, even worse.
- 1:02Speaker 6: Isn't that grilled cheese?
- 1:03Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:03Speaker 6: Who's out here calling it cheese toast?
- 1:05Speaker 1: Nobody. Somebody strange.
- 1:07Speaker 6: It's National Linguini Day.
- 1:10Speaker 5: Okay.
- 1:11Speaker 6: National IT Professionals Day.
- 1:13Speaker 2: Wow.
- 1:13Speaker 5: Well, happy IT Professionals Day to all of you IT.
- 1:17Speaker 6: There you go.
- 1:17Speaker 1: If you want some random days to celebrate, you got them.
- 1:20Speaker 1: I'll give them to you every day.
- 1:21Speaker 5: I like that.
- 1:22Speaker 1: Just randomness all over the place.
- 1:24Speaker 6: What's up with you?
- 1:25Speaker 5: Oh, I went to the Parks Mall yesterday. You know,
- 1:27Speaker 5: we were looking for Enzo some new cleats because he
- 1:29Speaker 5: has his first game of the season tomorrow. So there's
- 1:31Speaker 5: like a big giant like house of sport, you know,
- 1:34Speaker 5: dicks there. And they had the cleats we wanted. So
- 1:37Speaker 5: we went out to Arlington and I walked through that mall.
- 1:40Speaker 5: That is the mall where I met NSYNC back in
- 1:42Speaker 5: the day.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Is it?
- 1:43Speaker 5: They did that big meet and greet right there in
- 1:45Speaker 5: the center.
- 1:46Speaker 1: Oh, I was there.
- 1:46Speaker 5: Yeah, I think you were.
- 1:48Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:48Speaker 5: But I remember like vividly waiting all night outside in
- 1:52Speaker 5: this line to get in and meet them.
- 1:54Speaker 6: You stayed out there all night?
- 1:56Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:56Speaker 5: Oh, yeah. You had to.
- 1:57Speaker 6: Was that the one day that you missed school?
- 1:59Speaker 5: No, that was the other time I went to see
- 2:01Speaker 5: them at Planet Hollywood.
- 2:02Speaker 6: And you actually did get to meet them?
- 2:04Speaker 5: I did get to meet them there. Yeah, it was
- 2:05Speaker 5: like two seconds. You know, they did an autograph and like,
- 2:07Speaker 5: just keep it moving, you know, kind of thing. Uh,
- 2:10Speaker 5: but I stopped and looked around and like had a
- 2:12Speaker 5: moment as I was dragging my son to Sephora. Um,
- 2:15Speaker 5: and that's where I had a mom realization where this
- 2:17Speaker 5: was the first time Enzo questioned like where mom was
- 2:20Speaker 5: dragging him. We walk into Sephora and he's like, this
- 2:23Speaker 5: store is not for me. I was like, no, no,
- 2:27Speaker 5: it's not. And he asked me about fake eyelashes and
- 2:30Speaker 5: what are those? Why would anyone ever wear those? And
- 2:33Speaker 5: we just had like a kind of mom-son moment where
- 2:35Speaker 5: he was a little bit older and could question where he.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Was being taken to. Yeah, well, even when I've been
- 2:41Speaker 1: in relationships, I do the same thing as a grown-up.
- 2:43Speaker 1: I'm like, this story is not for me. Well, good
- 2:46Speaker 1: for him.
- 2:47Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:48Speaker 1: It was fun, though.
- 2:49Speaker 6: It's funny to see, like, they have the memories of malls.
- 2:51Speaker 1: Like, back in the day, I almost walked in the
- 2:53Speaker 1: other day to, well, it used to be called Vista Ridge. Oh, yeah.
- 2:57Speaker 1: Now it's called, like, Music City Mall or something. Oh,
- 2:59Speaker 1: it is? In Louisville.
- 3:00Speaker 6: I don't know why.
- 3:01Speaker 1: Huh. But it is. But I just remember back in
- 3:03Speaker 1: the day doing, like, concerts with the radio stations back there.
- 3:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:07Speaker 6: Like, having Ryan Cabrera out there.
- 3:08Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 3:09Speaker 1: And the mall would be packed. Oh. And now there's
- 3:11Speaker 1: not one human soul in the mall. Yeah. Not almost.
- 3:14Speaker 5: That mall was sad.
- 3:16Speaker 6: Yeah, that mall was kind of, it got sad quick.
- 3:17Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:18Speaker 6: But, all right, well, that just got me depressed.
- 3:20Speaker 5: I know. But, hey, it was good solid memories from
- 3:24Speaker 5: the late 90s.
- 3:25Speaker 6: No, 100%.
- 3:26Speaker 8: All right, Producer Poo, what's up with you? Oh, yesterday
- 3:28Speaker 8: I was with my sister. We were in Walmart, and
- 3:30Speaker 8: I ran into a chick I used to date.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Oh.
- 3:34Speaker 8: And I was trying to avoid her, but she called
- 3:36Speaker 8: me by my government name.
- 3:38Speaker 5: Oh, no.
- 3:39Speaker 7: Clarence.
- 3:39Speaker 6: What?
- 3:41Speaker 5: Hey, Clarence. See you.
- 3:44Speaker 1: My sister, she usually doesn't meet the girls I date. Okay.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Which is so weird because, okay.
- 3:49Speaker 6: There's so much. Pooh's life is so weird.
- 3:51Speaker 1: Well, because she don't want to be involved.
- 3:53Speaker 5: But there's a difference between dating and being in a relationship.
- 3:56Speaker 5: She met girls you were in a relationship with, right?
- 3:58Speaker 7: Yeah, she met girls.
- 3:59Speaker 1: Well, yeah.
- 3:59Speaker 5: No, of course.
- 4:00Speaker 1: Girls that I called my girlfriend. She met, okay. Yeah,
- 4:03Speaker 1: she met those.
- 4:03Speaker 8: But girls that I just like went out with and
- 4:06Speaker 8: nothing panned out. Yeah, she doesn't want to be involved.
- 4:09Speaker 8: She don't want to meet them.
- 4:10Speaker 5: That's fair.
- 4:10Speaker 1: You know what I mean? I was just like, man,
- 4:13Speaker 1: of all places. And she lives in Wiley. And I'm like, oh, wow.
- 4:18Speaker 1: She was like, you live out here? I was like, yeah.
- 4:21Speaker 1: It was just so embarrassing.
- 4:22Speaker 6: Why is it embarrassing? I don't get it.
- 4:24Speaker 1: It is because I didn't want to run into her.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Is she like, this is your new girlfriend? You're like, no,
- 4:29Speaker 1: it's my sister. No.
- 4:32Speaker 8: Morgan just left me hanging because I was going to
- 4:35Speaker 8: introduce her.
- 4:35Speaker 6: You should have played it off.
- 4:36Speaker 1: I didn't try to play it off.
- 4:37Speaker 5: Well, I mean, running into people from your past anywhere
- 4:40Speaker 5: is awkward, but Walmart, I mean, that hits different.
- 4:43Speaker 2: Why?
- 4:43Speaker 5: It just does. We're both at Walmart.
- 4:45Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 4:46Speaker 5: It's just there's something different there.
- 4:48Speaker 6: It's not like you ran into him at the clinic
- 4:49Speaker 6: treating a rash.
- 4:51Speaker 2: I know.
- 4:51Speaker 5: It's just something different about it.
- 4:53Speaker 1: She low-key clowned me. She was like, ooh, you got
- 4:55Speaker 1: a little bigger. And I was like, ooh. I was like,
- 4:58Speaker 1: in a good way? She was like, no.
- 4:59Speaker 6: How would it be in a good way?
- 5:02Speaker 1: I was just... I was like, I'm muscly?
- 5:04Speaker 6: She would say that? No, she said that. She did that, yeah.
- 5:08Speaker 1: Ew. Who says that? I date girls who, you know. No,
- 5:11Speaker 1: that's because I think you set the precedent that you
- 5:13Speaker 1: talk to them like that.
- 5:15Speaker 5: True.
- 5:15Speaker 6: You both talk to each other.
- 5:16Speaker 1: That was weird, hearing poo. And like his ex-girlfriend, or ex-girlfriends, whatever,
- 5:23Speaker 1: back in the day. This was obviously years ago. Yeah.
- 5:26Speaker 6: Like years.
- 5:27Speaker 1: Oh, God. Years ago. But they would talk trash and
- 5:32Speaker 1: argue like two dudes.
- 5:33Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 5:33Speaker 5: That's fine if that's how you work.
- 5:35Speaker 1: He'd be like, well, you're fat, too. And I'd be like, dude,
- 5:37Speaker 1: what are you doing? He's like, well, she called me fat. Wow. Okay.
- 5:41Speaker 1: He'd be like, you don't talk to girls like that,
- 5:43Speaker 1: but we do.
- 5:45Speaker 6: They talk to each other that way.
- 5:47Speaker 5: If it works, great.
- 5:48Speaker 1: So if you're looking.
- 5:49Speaker 6: To have someone call you fat.
- 5:50Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 5:52Speaker 1: Call Pooh. But, you know, you can call him fat, too,
- 5:55Speaker 1: I guess. It's just an interesting relationship over there. Whatever
- 5:59Speaker 1: works for you.
- 6:00Speaker 2: The new Mix 102.9.
- 6:02Speaker 3: It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
- 6:05Speaker 3: Kid in the morning.
- 6:06Speaker 2: Only on the new Mix 102.9.
- 6:08Speaker 1: By the way, Candace Lopez, producer Pooh, our jackpot for
- 6:12Speaker 1: the free gas is up to $ 700 right now. Oh. $ 700,
- 6:18Speaker 1: your first chance to win at 8.30.
- 6:21Speaker 6: So make sure you listen.
- 6:22Speaker 1: You've got to say Mix 102.9, Great Gremlin Gas Gift
- 6:24Speaker 1: Card Giveaway five times fast.
- 6:26Speaker 6: You've got it.
- 6:26Speaker 1: Start practicing now. Candace Lopez, what is going on?
- 6:29Speaker 5: Well, a Fort Worth family has filed a $ 1 million
- 6:32Speaker 5: lawsuit against Arkham Montessori School after a substitute teacher allegedly
- 6:36Speaker 5: encouraged four-year-olds to fight. Surveillance video confirmed the child did
- 6:41Speaker 5: have physical injuries as well as emotional distress. But this
- 6:44Speaker 5: lawsuit also alleges the teacher also assaulted the child. They're
- 6:49Speaker 5: saying that this academy has a pattern of safety issues
- 6:52Speaker 5: totaling 16 citations since it opened in 2024. And just
- 6:57Speaker 5: a really heartbreaking story I came across this morning.
- 6:59Speaker 1: What are you doing?
- 7:00Speaker 5: Right. Who can you trust anymore?
- 7:02Speaker 1: You can't have a kid fight club.
- 7:03Speaker 5: No.
- 7:04Speaker 1: No. And then somebody was doing that in a nursing
- 7:05Speaker 1: home not too long ago. No.
- 7:07Speaker 5: You married... I thought that was real or fake news story.
- 7:10Speaker 1: No, it was a real story where they had to
- 7:12Speaker 1: shut it down. What?
- 7:14Speaker 6: Yeah, where they were having old people fight.
- 7:17Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:17Speaker 2: All right.
- 7:18Speaker 6: Maybe the old people were into it.
- 7:19Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 7:20Speaker 5: I mean, at least they're adults.
- 7:22Speaker 6: Yeah, but some of them weren't mentally okay.
- 7:24Speaker 5: Yeah, for sure. You would never want to do that
- 7:27Speaker 5: with anyone, much less like elderly young people.
- 7:29Speaker 1: I can't believe we have to say this out loud, people.
- 7:31Speaker 1: Don't start fight clubs.
- 7:32Speaker 5: Right, literally.
- 7:33Speaker 1: With kids and old people.
- 7:34Speaker 5: Animals and nobody.
- 7:35Speaker 1: Nobody.
- 7:36Speaker 5: Yeah, awful. Guys, you might be able to take your
- 7:38Speaker 5: water bottles through airport security soon. TSA is considering changing
- 7:42Speaker 5: the rules for certain pre-check passengers once new 3D CT
- 7:47Speaker 5: scanners are installed at select airports. So I guess these
- 7:50Speaker 5: scanners can detect the liquid contents of bottles. And then
- 7:54Speaker 5: if this is approved, the change would start at certain
- 7:56Speaker 5: airports in the coming months.
- 7:57Speaker 6: Do we like this or.
- 7:59Speaker 5: I mean, I don't mind it.
- 7:59Speaker 1: It's whatever to me. Like just get water when you're
- 8:02Speaker 1: in the airport.
- 8:03Speaker 5: I guess so.
- 8:03Speaker 1: Big of a deal.
- 8:04Speaker 5: I only drink water though. And so I can tell,
- 8:06Speaker 5: I don't want to go to like some random fountain
- 8:08Speaker 5: and then the water's like not good. You know, I'd
- 8:10Speaker 5: rather bring water. I am a water snob for sure.
- 8:13Speaker 5: I just rather bring my water filtered water from home.
- 8:16Speaker 1: Oh God. You know?
- 8:17Speaker 5: At least let me get the 40 ounces in, and
- 8:19Speaker 5: then I'll go to whatever the fill-up station is.
- 8:22Speaker 1: Who's drinking 40 ounces before they get on a plane?
- 8:24Speaker 5: Well, I might. You need to be drinking water on
- 8:26Speaker 5: the plane.
- 8:27Speaker 1: Please get an aisle. Please get an aisle seat.
- 8:30Speaker 5: It's a long flight. I know I'm going to be
- 8:31Speaker 5: drinking water.
- 8:32Speaker 1: Don't get me up 15 times in a flight because
- 8:34Speaker 1: you drank your body weight in water.
- 8:38Speaker 5: Guys, Martha Stewart has people talking after she made a
- 8:41Speaker 5: comment about possibly sharing some very personal photos.
- 8:45Speaker 2: Oh.
- 8:46Speaker 5: Then she edited it, though. That's the thing. So she
- 8:49Speaker 5: posted this selfie where she's kind of making this like sultry,
- 8:52Speaker 5: pouty lip face. And the caption originally said she's been
- 8:56Speaker 5: thinking about releasing these pictures.
- 8:58Speaker 1: Like naked? Yes. No, Martha.
- 9:03Speaker 5: No, no, no, no.
- 9:04Speaker 6: I don't want this.
- 9:05Speaker 5: Well, then the caption was later changed to say Martha
- 9:09Speaker 5: may be known for cooking, but she's no stranger to serving.
- 9:13Speaker 1: Oh, whoa.
- 9:15Speaker 5: Okay, the comments absolutely noticed the change in the caption, though,
- 9:18Speaker 5: so people started calling it out, saying, put the original
- 9:21Speaker 5: caption back, ma'am, and then incredible corporate cleanup.
- 9:24Speaker 6: And you know Martha is my girl.
- 9:26Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 9:26Speaker 1: Martha is my crush.
- 9:27Speaker 5: She's your celebrity crush.
- 9:28Speaker 1: She's my celebrity crush, but I don't want to say.
- 9:31Speaker 1: Over 80.
- 9:31Speaker 6: Yeah, but I get right. My only celebrity crush.
- 9:34Speaker 1: Is she really?
- 9:35Speaker 7: Yes.
- 9:35Speaker 2: Oh, God.
- 9:36Speaker 5: She looks good.
- 9:37Speaker 1: Yeah, no, she looks incredible. That's why I have a
- 9:39Speaker 1: crush on her.
- 9:40Speaker 5: I know.
- 9:41Speaker 6: But it doesn't mean I want to see it all.
- 9:43Speaker 5: Right.
- 9:43Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 9:44Speaker 7: Right.
- 9:45Speaker 6: I don't want to see.
- 9:46Speaker 5: Like her in an apron or?
- 9:48Speaker 1: No, Candace, stop. Martha's sacred to me. I just like
- 9:52Speaker 1: to see her.
- 9:52Speaker 5: No, agree.
- 9:54Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 9:54Speaker 5: She has a really beautiful face. Really, her makeup is
- 9:58Speaker 5: perfect in this photo.
- 9:59Speaker 1: I don't want her. to share her buttermilk biscuits with everyone.
- 10:04Speaker 5: I agree wholeheartedly.
- 10:06Speaker 1: You know what I mean? You can't just show your
- 10:08Speaker 1: cinnamon rolls to everybody.
- 10:10Speaker 5: No, for sure.
- 10:11Speaker 1: Okay, thank you.
- 10:12Speaker 5: All right.
- 10:14Speaker 6: Well, I'm upset about it.
- 10:15Speaker 1: I was going to show you the picture.
- 10:16Speaker 5: I can't find it fast enough. You can go look
- 10:18Speaker 5: at it later on Instagram.
- 10:19Speaker 1: There's a picture?
- 10:19Speaker 2: Well, yeah.
- 10:19Speaker 5: It's just a selfie. It's just her face.
- 10:21Speaker 6: Don't show me anything inappropriate.
- 10:23Speaker 5: No, no, no. She's just making a pouty.
- 10:25Speaker 1: Candace, how dare you?
- 10:26Speaker 8: Face.
- 10:26Speaker 1: DM me.
- 10:27Speaker 9: Flirty face.
- 10:28Speaker 1: DM it to me. I'm sending it to you right now.
- 10:30Speaker 4: All right.
- 10:30Speaker 5: I'm Candace Lopez. Those are your Texas Top Stories.
- 10:34Speaker 1: Mix 102.9. Good morning. Billy the Kid, Candace Lopez, Producer
- 10:38Speaker 1: Pooh is here. We're getting ready for Real or Fake News.
- 10:40Speaker 1: Got that right now.
- 10:41Speaker 6: Jonas Brothers tickets up for grabs.
- 10:42Speaker 1: We got these all week for First Call of the Day,
- 10:44Speaker 1: which they put on an incredible show.
- 10:46Speaker 5: Yeah, it's fun.
- 10:47Speaker 1: And I'm not just saying that because we're giving away
- 10:48Speaker 1: the tickets.
- 10:49Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 10:49Speaker 6: Jonas Brothers do put on a good show.
- 10:51Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:51Speaker 1: I've been to many Joe Bros shows alone.
- 10:54Speaker 5: Same.
- 10:54Speaker 8: Oh, yeah.
- 10:54Speaker 6: I'll go or just me and Pooh will go.
- 10:56Speaker 1: I don't go alone.
- 10:58Speaker 6: Wear a matching shirt.
- 10:59Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:00Speaker 1: That's how we do it, okay? That's cute. All right,
- 11:02Speaker 1: tickets are pre-wrapped.
- 11:04Speaker 5: Who's this?
- 11:05Speaker 1: This is Cody.
- 11:05Speaker 6: Cody, what's up, Cody?
- 11:06Speaker 1: Guess what? You're calling number one, Cody! There's no way. Congratulations!
- 11:13Speaker 2: Dude, that is awesome.
- 11:14Speaker 6: Yeah, there you go.
- 11:15Speaker 1: Where are you from? I live in Denton, but I'm
- 11:18Speaker 1: from Fort Worth. Oh, cool. Yeah, you won. You got
- 11:21Speaker 1: some Jonas Brothers tickets, so I don't know who you
- 11:23Speaker 1: want to take to the show, but I'm sure it'll
- 11:24Speaker 1: be a good time.
- 11:25Speaker 2: I got a wife that I've been married to for
- 11:27Speaker 2: almost 10 years that loves.
- 11:28Speaker 5: The Jonas Brothers.
- 11:29Speaker 1: Oh, well, that's awesome.
- 11:30Speaker 6: What's your wife's name?
- 11:32Speaker 1: Morgan.
- 11:32Speaker 7: Morgan.
- 11:33Speaker 1: Well, Morgan's going to be very happy. Do you know
- 11:34Speaker 1: her favorite? Every husband would know her favorite Jonas Brothers.
- 11:37Speaker 1: Does she have one? It's definitely Nick. It's always Nick.
- 11:42Speaker 5: Not always.
- 11:43Speaker 6: Why can't it be Kevin?
- 11:44Speaker 5: Joe's my favorite. It will end Kevin.
- 11:46Speaker 1: Nobody picks Kevin.
- 11:49Speaker 5: This one's definitely.
- 11:51Speaker 1: Nick for sure. All right, good. Well, enjoy the show,
- 11:54Speaker 1: and thank you so much. We appreciate you listening, Cody. Man,
- 11:57Speaker 1: I appreciate it.
- 11:57Speaker 2: Made my day.
- 11:58Speaker 4: Good.
- 11:58Speaker 6: You stay right there. You know what I'm saying?
- 12:00Speaker 1: Come on, Kevin gets no love.
- 12:01Speaker 5: Yeah, no, you're right.
- 12:03Speaker 1: Come on, Kevin.
- 12:03Speaker 5: He deserves it, for sure.
- 12:05Speaker 9: He's nice.
- 12:05Speaker 6: Yeah, or Frankie Jonas, the other Jonas brother who's young.
- 12:08Speaker 5: I guess, but when you say Jonas brothers, you don't
- 12:10Speaker 5: really think of Frankie.
- 12:12Speaker 6: That's the problem.
- 12:13Speaker 5: He's not in the Jonas Brothers. He's Frankie Jonas.
- 12:16Speaker 1: He's still a brother.
- 12:17Speaker 5: Yeah, but he's not in the band.
- 12:19Speaker 1: Yeah, but imagine how crappy that is.
- 12:21Speaker 5: Well, yeah.
- 12:21Speaker 1: If you're a Jonas Brother and you're not in the
- 12:23Speaker 1: Jonas Brothers, but all the other brothers are the Jonas Brothers.
- 12:25Speaker 4: I know.
- 12:26Speaker 5: It's got to be awful.
- 12:27Speaker 1: God.
- 12:27Speaker 5: Frankie's great.
- 12:28Speaker 6: Put me up for adoption.
- 12:29Speaker 2: No.
- 12:32Speaker 6: I don't need you, Nick.
- 12:32Speaker 1: I don't need this family.
- 12:33Speaker 5: He's got his own career.
- 12:34Speaker 1: People walking up to you asking for your other brothers. Yeah.
- 12:38Speaker 6: You're like, oh, my God.
- 12:39Speaker 1: Well, I'm a Jonas brother, too, but I'm just not
- 12:41Speaker 1: in the group.
- 12:42Speaker 7: Right.
- 12:42Speaker 6: Well, that's weird.
- 12:43Speaker 1: Oh.
- 12:43Speaker 5: All right.
- 12:45Speaker 6: Real or fake news.
- 12:46Speaker 1: Are you ready? Yeah. I'm going to give you three headlines.
- 12:48Speaker 1: You got to tell me which one is fake. And
- 12:49Speaker 1: this is, well, it's hard today. I have a feeling
- 12:51Speaker 1: it's going to be tough. You ready?
- 12:52Speaker 7: Okay. All right.
- 12:53Speaker 1: Headline number one. Police are looking for thieves with... quote,
- 12:58Speaker 1: fat chicks only written on their SUV. Oh, my gosh.
- 13:04Speaker 6: What is wrong with people?
- 13:05Speaker 5: Oh, God.
- 13:05Speaker 1: Police are looking for thieves with, quote, fat chicks only
- 13:09Speaker 1: written on their SUV. All right.
- 13:13Speaker 6: Headline number two.
- 13:14Speaker 1: California has run out of license plate numbers and will
- 13:18Speaker 1: now give you the option to pick emojis.
- 13:22Speaker 7: Okay.
- 13:23Speaker 1: California has run out of license plate numbers and will
- 13:25Speaker 1: now give you the option to pick emojis. Headline number two.
- 13:29Speaker 1: Headline number three. Thousands of people show up for the
- 13:32Speaker 1: annual World Champion Squirrel Cook-Off. Thousands of people show up
- 13:38Speaker 1: for the annual World Champion Squirrel Cook-Off. Okay. That is
- 13:42Speaker 1: headline number three. So one of these headlines... Is fake.
- 13:46Speaker 1: You got to pick which one. Candace, you want to
- 13:47Speaker 1: go first? You want to pass it to Pooh? What
- 13:48Speaker 1: you want to do?
- 13:49Speaker 5: Man, these are wacky today.
- 13:50Speaker 1: Yeah, they're crazy.
- 13:52Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm going to pass it to Pooh.
- 13:53Speaker 1: Oh, that's going to be tough. Okay, Pooh, you got
- 13:55Speaker 1: first pick. Which one do you think is fake?
- 13:57Speaker 8: Let's go with that second story about putting emojis on
- 14:00Speaker 8: your license plate now.
- 14:01Speaker 6: Okay, you don't think that's real?
- 14:02Speaker 1: No, lock me in. It's California. They do some weird stuff. Yeah,
- 14:05Speaker 1: they do.
- 14:06Speaker 6: She used to live out there.
- 14:07Speaker 1: Candace did. Oh, yeah, she did. Yeah, it's great. It's
- 14:09Speaker 1: kind of weird, though. Look at her. Oh, my gosh.
- 14:12Speaker 6: All right, lock it in.
- 14:13Speaker 1: Lock it in. Lock it in. All right, Candace, he
- 14:18Speaker 1: picked that one. You got to pick one. Which one
- 14:19Speaker 1: do you think is the fake story?
- 14:20Speaker 5: Lock me in for that first story. You don't think?
- 14:22Speaker 5: The fat chicks only. That's ridiculous.
- 14:25Speaker 1: It is ridiculous.
- 14:26Speaker 9: Lock it in.
- 14:26Speaker 1: This world is ridiculous.
- 14:27Speaker 2: It is.
- 14:28Speaker 1: Let's lock it in. And the winner today is La
- 14:33Speaker 1: Poo Poo. Good job, Pooh. Wow. Okay. Yeah, no, that
- 14:45Speaker 1: is a fake story, although that is a real story
- 14:49Speaker 1: in the sense that they have ran out of numbers.
- 14:52Speaker 9: Okay.
- 14:52Speaker 1: So California did run out of license plate numbers.
- 14:55Speaker 5: No kidding.
- 14:55Speaker 1: Yeah, so now I guess they're just going to start
- 14:58Speaker 1: repeating the one number at the end. Like your first
- 15:01Speaker 1: number is also going to go on the end of
- 15:03Speaker 1: your other.
- 15:04Speaker 5: Okay.
- 15:05Speaker 1: Whatever. So they're trying to figure out what to do
- 15:07Speaker 1: because they don't have any numbers left.
- 15:09Speaker 2: Huh.
- 15:10Speaker 1: That's how many cars are there. All right, let's get
- 15:11Speaker 1: to the real stories. Police are looking for thieves with, quote,
- 15:14Speaker 1: fat chicks only written on their SUV. Authorities in Mississippi
- 15:19Speaker 1: are asking the public for help by identifying a vehicle
- 15:22Speaker 1: that had written on it fat chicks only.
- 15:24Speaker 6: It's a black older model Chevrolet Tahoe.
- 15:27Speaker 1: The vehicle was allegedly involved in a burglary that happened
- 15:30Speaker 1: last Thursday, and a witness says that it was.
- 15:32Speaker 6: Being driven by two large white males with long beards.
- 15:37Speaker 4: Mm-mm.
- 15:38Speaker 6: That's the only description it was.
- 15:41Speaker 1: The sheriff said the men stole some items from somebody's
- 15:44Speaker 1: shed and had other things stacked near a doorway near
- 15:48Speaker 1: the home that they also stole. When the homeowner confronted them,
- 15:52Speaker 1: they dropped everything and took off. So they didn't really
- 15:56Speaker 1: steal anything. So now, yeah, there's a literal Crime Stoppers
- 16:00Speaker 1: number here.
- 16:01Speaker 5: They attempted to.
- 16:02Speaker 1: Yeah, they attempted to steal, and maybe they got away
- 16:04Speaker 1: with something. I don't know, but yeah. I mean, criminals
- 16:07Speaker 1: are so dumb. Like, you don't want to stand out.
- 16:10Speaker 5: Right.
- 16:10Speaker 1: So why would you have something written on the back
- 16:13Speaker 1: of your towel that says fat chicks only?
- 16:17Speaker 6: Why do you want attention? Why are you doing that?
- 16:19Speaker 5: Right.
- 16:19Speaker 1: You know?
- 16:20Speaker 6: I mean, it's cool if you like bigger women.
- 16:22Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 16:23Speaker 6: Do whatever you want to do.
- 16:24Speaker 5: For sure.
- 16:24Speaker 6: You don't have to tell me. Why do I care?
- 16:26Speaker 5: Right. That's ridiculous.
- 16:29Speaker 1: We should write that on Pooh's car. All right.
- 16:33Speaker 6: Next one.
- 16:35Speaker 1: Tortas only. Yeah.
- 16:37Speaker 4: Jeez.
- 16:38Speaker 1: Can we write tortas only?
- 16:39Speaker 3: No.
- 16:40Speaker 6: Candace, you're no fun today.
- 16:42Speaker 9: All right.
- 16:43Speaker 6: Next headline.
- 16:44Speaker 1: Thousands of people show up for the annual world champion
- 16:49Speaker 1: squirrel cook-off.
- 16:50Speaker 5: Oh, where was this?
- 16:51Speaker 6: Where do you think?
- 16:53Speaker 5: Florida.
- 16:53Speaker 7: No.
- 16:54Speaker 5: Arkansas.
- 16:54Speaker 1: Arkansas. We got a winner. Yep. This is the truth.
- 16:59Speaker 1: It's real. It drew thousands of people over the weekend.
- 17:03Speaker 1: I mean, thousands of people and competitive cooks to the Ozarks.
- 17:07Speaker 1: Twenty eight cooking teams representing 15 states competed in the
- 17:10Speaker 1: main event. Visitors also participated in unique challenges ranging from
- 17:14Speaker 1: the world's hottest squirrel eating.
- 17:15Speaker 6: Contest to a live squirrel skinning competition.
- 17:19Speaker 1: Oh, wow. Yeah, I even enjoyed some custom squirrel-flavored ice
- 17:22Speaker 1: cream and a squirrel-flavored dessert. For non-squirrel eaters, they had
- 17:28Speaker 1: other stuff, too, but it was mostly, oh, they also
- 17:30Speaker 1: had an arm wrestling competition. Of course. Because all you
- 17:35Speaker 1: got to do is throw in some monster trucks.
- 17:36Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 17:37Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:37Speaker 1: And what else do we need?
- 17:38Speaker 6: Some NASCAR.
- 17:39Speaker 1: Wrestling.
- 17:40Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 17:40Speaker 6: I think I would go to this.
- 17:42Speaker 5: What a festival.
- 17:43Speaker 1: I'm not kidding you. Next time I'm driving.
- 17:46Speaker 9: No.
- 17:47Speaker 6: Do you want to hear, because you know I love
- 17:48Speaker 6: a good list.
- 17:49Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 17:50Speaker 6: Do you want to hear some of the squirrel dishes
- 17:51Speaker 6: they were serving?
- 17:52Speaker 5: For sure.
- 17:52Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
- 17:54Speaker 1: Squirrel meatloaf.
- 17:55Speaker 2: Okay.
- 17:55Speaker 3: Okay.
- 17:56Speaker 6: Squirrel Birria Tacos.
- 17:58Speaker 1: You play.
- 18:00Speaker 2: What?
- 18:00Speaker 6: Squirrel Adillas.
- 18:02Speaker 1: Squirrel Adillas.
- 18:03Speaker 6: Quesadillas, only squirrel.
- 18:05Speaker 1: Papusas.
- 18:06Speaker 6: Squirrel Papusas.
- 18:07Speaker 5: Okay.
- 18:08Speaker 1: Squirrel Stew. Smoked Squirrel. Squirrel Jalapeno Poppers. Tika Masala.
- 18:15Speaker 5: Oh.
- 18:16Speaker 1: Tiki Masala is a tika.
- 18:17Speaker 2: Yum.
- 18:18Speaker 1: Tika Masala?
- 18:19Speaker 6: They call it.
- 18:19Speaker 2: I guess.
- 18:20Speaker 6: They call it.
- 18:21Speaker 1: I'm not even kidding you. It's not a bad joke.
- 18:23Speaker 1: Squicka Masala.
- 18:24Speaker 4: Oh.
- 18:25Speaker 7: Oh.
- 18:27Speaker 5: That's too much.
- 18:28Speaker 6: I don't know why I guess squirrel.
- 18:29Speaker 5: Squeak and masala?
- 18:30Speaker 1: Squeak and masala.
- 18:31Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:31Speaker 1: They got that. There's buttermilk fried squirrel. Squirrel and dumplings.
- 18:36Speaker 1: Squirrel and dumplings.
- 18:37Speaker 5: You're taking it way too far at this point.
- 18:39Speaker 6: Squirrel egg rolls. Squirrel empanadas.
- 18:41Speaker 1: No. Then it gets crazy. Squirrel nuggets. Squirrel on a stick.
- 18:48Speaker 1: My favorite, squirrel stroganoff.
- 18:51Speaker 7: Okay.
- 18:53Speaker 1: Oh, actually, this is my favorite. Squirrely fries. And finally,
- 19:00Speaker 1: last but not least, one vendor had the Nutcracker platter,
- 19:04Speaker 1: which was smoked squirrel, two sides, and your choice of
- 19:08Speaker 1: a drink.
- 19:09Speaker 7: Wow.
- 19:09Speaker 5: What a deal.
- 19:10Speaker 1: The Nutcracker platter.
- 19:11Speaker 6: It's not that bad. I've had it before.
- 19:14Speaker 1: Really? I had it.
- 19:15Speaker 6: You follow Oklahoma.
- 19:17Speaker 4: Oh.
- 19:17Speaker 1: And it was in a crock pot. And I just
- 19:19Speaker 1: thought it was pot roast. And I was like, what
- 19:21Speaker 1: is this? It was just a whole loaf of white bread. Yeah.
- 19:24Speaker 6: And a crock pot. And I was like, I'm starved.
- 19:26Speaker 6: Been outside all day.
- 19:27Speaker 1: I was fishing.
- 19:28Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 19:28Speaker 1: And I was like, I'm just going to get some
- 19:29Speaker 1: of this pot roast. And I dipped my bread in it.
- 19:33Speaker 1: Got a big old plate.
- 19:35Speaker 6: And then, yeah.
- 19:36Speaker 1: And then my ex-girlfriend's mom was like, oh, you like squirrel? Oh.
- 19:41Speaker 1: And I was like. Oh, no. She's like, that squirrel.
- 19:45Speaker 1: I was like, well, I do now.
- 19:48Speaker 2: Oh.
- 19:48Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 19:49Speaker 1: And they also have the squirrels, like, stuff. Like the
- 19:52Speaker 1: little squirrel nuggets. They call them the squirrel.
- 19:55Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 19:55Speaker 6: I'm trying to be PG.
- 19:56Speaker 1: Right.
- 19:56Speaker 5: Yeah. Like that.
- 19:58Speaker 1: The squirrel pellets.
- 20:00Speaker 4: Oh.
- 20:00Speaker 1: They're little parts.
- 20:02Speaker 7: Oh.
- 20:02Speaker 6: You can eat those.
- 20:04Speaker 4: Oh.
- 20:04Speaker 5: Please tell me you didn't.
- 20:04Speaker 1: They were a little chewy for me. It's Mix 102.9.
- 20:09Speaker 1: I'm Bailey the Kid, Candace Lopez. Producer Pooh, I'm cracking
- 20:12Speaker 1: up right now because I got like four DMs of
- 20:14Speaker 1: people who already have their Christmas tree up.
- 20:16Speaker 5: No.
- 20:16Speaker 6: Including my friend Michelle.
- 20:17Speaker 5: Really?
- 20:18Speaker 1: Shout out to Michelle. She listens. We love her, but
- 20:20Speaker 1: she's got her tree up, I think, in her bedroom.
- 20:22Speaker 1: I think she left it up.
- 20:23Speaker 4: Oh, okay.
- 20:24Speaker 5: That's different.
- 20:25Speaker 1: Christmas tree up all year?
- 20:26Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 20:27Speaker 6: Make a statement.
- 20:28Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 20:29Speaker 5: I mean, whatever it takes to manifest cooler weather, just
- 20:31Speaker 5: do it.
- 20:32Speaker 6: If it makes you happy, put your tree up.
- 20:33Speaker 1: Who cares? Leave it up. Whatever. We're in 2026. Everybody's sad.
- 20:37Speaker 1: Get happy.
- 20:38Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 20:39Speaker 1: Speaking of sad... I can't believe I'm saying.
- 20:41Speaker 6: This out loud. I burned my nipples last night.
- 20:45Speaker 9: Excuse me?
- 20:47Speaker 2: Okay.
- 20:48Speaker 1: Okay.
- 20:48Speaker 5: Right. No lead up. I'm just going to get to it. Okay. Listen,
- 20:57Speaker 5: you know, some weird stuff happens to me.
- 21:07Speaker 1: Always. So last night, and I want to know, too,
- 21:11Speaker 1: how you've hurt yourself. The dumbest way you've hurt yourself,
- 21:14Speaker 1: please let me know, 833-787-1029 or at Billy on the
- 21:18Speaker 1: radio on Instagram. So yesterday I get home. You know,
- 21:21Speaker 1: I'm trying to do some work from home, trying to
- 21:23Speaker 1: do some things. I go out, swim with the dog
- 21:26Speaker 1: like I do because it's too hot to go for
- 21:27Speaker 1: a walk because the pavement is 150 degrees. So I'm like,
- 21:31Speaker 1: we'll go out, we'll swim, and then I'm going to
- 21:33Speaker 1: come back inside, and then I'm going to cook something
- 21:35Speaker 1: to eat, and I'm going to work a little more
- 21:36Speaker 1: and go to bed.
- 21:37Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 21:38Speaker 1: So I'm in my swimsuit. I dry off a little bit,
- 21:41Speaker 1: but I'm like running back and forth inside, outside, and
- 21:43Speaker 1: I have this stupid broken hand. Right. So I have
- 21:45Speaker 1: like this thing on my hand, whatever. Candice is laughing
- 21:49Speaker 1: already because she already knows where it's going. So I'm
- 21:53Speaker 1: cooking a steak. So I'm like, well, I'm going to
- 21:55Speaker 1: cook this steak. I put a little avocado oil in there,
- 21:57Speaker 1: you know, salt it up, whatever. The pan is super hot,
- 22:01Speaker 1: and I'm trying to– I'm trying to flip it with
- 22:06Speaker 1: my hand, and as I'm trying to flip it, it's
- 22:08Speaker 1: a pretty big steak because I'm going to eat it
- 22:09Speaker 1: for like the next couple days. Okay. So it's a
- 22:11Speaker 1: big one.
- 22:12Speaker 6: It's hot.
- 22:13Speaker 1: That pan is hot. As I go to flip it,
- 22:16Speaker 1: the steak slips, falls, splashes.
- 22:20Speaker 2: No.
- 22:21Speaker 6: Grease all over my chest.
- 22:24Speaker 1: No. I mean, just all, and I'm shirtless in the kitchen. Yeah.
- 22:35Speaker 1: Probably shouldn't be doing it like that. But yeah, splash
- 22:38Speaker 1: grease all over myself.
- 22:41Speaker 5: Wow.
- 22:42Speaker 6: Just chest on fire, nips on fire.
- 22:47Speaker 1: And I've threw this thing down, like the little, whatever,
- 22:50Speaker 1: the grabbers, I don't know, tongs. And I'm like running
- 22:53Speaker 1: around the house going, ah, throwing cold throwing cold water
- 22:59Speaker 1: on my nips no splashing i got one hand i'm
- 23:03Speaker 1: like ah ah ah because it's on my chest.
- 23:06Speaker 5: Hot oil yeah that's the worst yeah i've had it
- 23:09Speaker 5: burn my arm.
- 23:10Speaker 1: Well have you ever had burn your nips no now
- 23:12Speaker 1: i'm like don't know what's going on over there so
- 23:15Speaker 1: now i think they're swollen i got third degree burns
- 23:17Speaker 1: on my nips it's an average tuesday oh Dumbest way
- 23:22Speaker 1: you've hurt yourself, Candace.
- 23:23Speaker 5: I mean, I hurt myself at H-E-B over the weekend.
- 23:25Speaker 5: I was in the bathroom, like, wiping just blood dripping
- 23:28Speaker 5: down my legs.
- 23:29Speaker 1: I thought you were going to say something else. No.
- 23:33Speaker 5: Because I accidentally knocked a whole bottle of wine off
- 23:36Speaker 5: on the floor and it just shattered all over me.
- 23:38Speaker 5: I couldn't tell what was wine and what was blood.
- 23:40Speaker 1: Oh, God, that's the worst. It was awful. I'm sorry.
- 23:42Speaker 5: Tiny little cuts all over my legs.
- 23:44Speaker 6: Is your leg okay?
- 23:45Speaker 5: Yeah, it's okay. Thank goodness I had flip-flops on because
- 23:48Speaker 5: my shoes would have been ruined. But then I got
- 23:49Speaker 5: cuts on my feet.
- 23:50Speaker 6: Dumbest way you've hurt yourself, Pooh.
- 23:52Speaker 8: Well, when I was little, I wanted a cast real bad.
- 23:56Speaker 8: So I was at the daycare I went to. I
- 23:59Speaker 8: kept jumping off the side of the roof trying to.
- 24:01Speaker 1: To break it off?
- 24:07Speaker 5: Oh, my God.
- 24:08Speaker 1: I thought my burned nips were bad.
- 24:11Speaker 3: Okay, so it's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with

- 24:32Speaker 1: You got to say it five times fast without messing up. Candace,
- 24:34Speaker 1: what is going on?
- 24:35Speaker 5: Well, we will likely break another heat record today if
- 24:38Speaker 5: we get up to 101. And with that, a local
- 24:40Speaker 5: psychiatrist is going viral for connecting the heat to its
- 24:44Speaker 5: impacts on your mental and physical health. They say the
- 24:47Speaker 5: heat limiting your energy or increasing your stress can make
- 24:50Speaker 5: you feel unhappy, irritable or impulsive.
- 24:53Speaker 2: Yep.
- 24:54Speaker 5: So just a heads up, I feel like people are
- 24:55Speaker 5: driving weird. People are weird at the grocery store.
- 24:58Speaker 6: Well, they're just over it.
- 24:59Speaker 5: We're tired and hot.
- 25:00Speaker 6: I'm hot. I'm just tired of it.
- 25:01Speaker 1: I just want some weather where you can actually go
- 25:03Speaker 1: outside and enjoy it. And I know it could be worse,
- 25:06Speaker 1: but this is just, it's uncomfortable. It's to the point
- 25:09Speaker 1: where like, all right, it's September. Enough is enough. Enough.
- 25:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 25:11Speaker 5: I feel bad for the kids too, having to have
- 25:13Speaker 5: indoor recess on some of these days.
- 25:15Speaker 1: How lame is that? Super lame.
- 25:17Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 25:17Speaker 1: But they're saying, you know, the farmer's almanac is saying
- 25:20Speaker 1: the winter is going to be bad.
- 25:21Speaker 5: Wetter and colder.
- 25:23Speaker 1: Which- I don't know. I feel like they've said that
- 25:24Speaker 1: before and it hasn't happened.
- 25:26Speaker 5: True.
- 25:26Speaker 1: But who knows?
- 25:27Speaker 6: I just want at least 70s.
- 25:29Speaker 5: Yes, exactly. It's coming. Guys, Cowboys icon Jason Witten just
- 25:34Speaker 5: got passed by Travis Kelsey for the most tight end
- 25:37Speaker 5: receiving yards with the Chiefs win last night. Jason went
- 25:40Speaker 5: and dropped to third now as Travis gets closer to
- 25:43Speaker 5: the top of that list. Taylor Swift was at the
- 25:46Speaker 5: game last night. Everyone was waiting to see. She did
- 25:49Speaker 5: skip the Emmys, but the cameras were loving her and
- 25:52Speaker 5: Tom Cruise sitting next to each other in the suite.
- 25:54Speaker 5: Did you see them talking?
- 25:55Speaker 6: That was so random.
- 25:56Speaker 5: Yeah, I guess he was at the wedding, though.
- 25:59Speaker 1: He was?
- 25:59Speaker 5: Yeah, apparently.
- 26:00Speaker 1: I can't picture her being friends with him. I don't
- 26:02Speaker 1: know why.
- 26:02Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 26:03Speaker 6: It's just a weird, like, what are they talking about?
- 26:05Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, I don't know, A-lister things.
- 26:08Speaker 6: Yeah, like rich people stuff.
- 26:09Speaker 5: Yeah, I was trying to do the lip-reading thing of
- 26:11Speaker 5: her and Tom. I don't know what they were saying.
- 26:14Speaker 1: Yeah, who knows?
- 26:14Speaker 5: Yeah, I don't think they were talking about football, though.
- 26:16Speaker 1: No, definitely not.
- 26:17Speaker 5: Guys, Oprah Winfrey is taking over the sphere in Vegas.
- 26:21Speaker 5: She just announced four immersive shows. She's describing as a
- 26:24Speaker 5: symphony of senses. The show is called Aha! Oprah says
- 26:29Speaker 5: this show is a dream that came to her when
- 26:31Speaker 5: she was actually at opening night there of U2' s show
- 26:34Speaker 5: at the Sphere. She said she was mesmerized by the
- 26:37Speaker 5: possibilities of the space and how it could be used
- 26:39Speaker 5: as a tool for creating greater awareness and understanding of ourselves.
- 26:43Speaker 6: So what does that mean? So what are you going
- 26:45Speaker 6: to do on stage? Is she getting on stage?
- 26:47Speaker 5: She is going to get on stage. I think there's
- 26:48Speaker 5: like a number of performers, singers that will be there.
- 26:52Speaker 5: But this is all about like connection and inspiration. So
- 26:54Speaker 5: a different take on that venue. in Las Vegas.
- 26:58Speaker 1: Just give me a free car, Oprah. Yeah, for real.
- 27:01Speaker 6: And she just gives everyone in the sphere a free car.
- 27:03Speaker 2: Right?
- 27:03Speaker 5: Can you imagine?
- 27:04Speaker 1: I mean, it would be cool, I guess, if she
- 27:05Speaker 1: curated the groups that are going to be there and
- 27:07Speaker 1: the artists, and then she comes out and speaks.
- 27:09Speaker 6: I mean, I kind of get into that.
- 27:10Speaker 5: Yeah, it's one of those, like, feel good, you know,
- 27:12Speaker 5: feel good in your body and connect with the planet
- 27:15Speaker 5: kind of shows. But tickets are $ 145. They're going to
- 27:17Speaker 5: go on sale September 1st. And speaking of big shows,
- 27:22Speaker 5: Kelly Clarkson performing at Stagecoach next year. I love seeing
- 27:27Speaker 5: this announcement. She's actually on the Sunday lineup. That'll be
- 27:30Speaker 5: April 25th. She's on stage right before Garth Brooks, who's
- 27:35Speaker 5: going to headline that night.
- 27:36Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, Stagecoach is huge.
- 27:38Speaker 5: Oh, absolutely massive. I think pre-sales are going to start
- 27:41Speaker 5: here in just a couple weeks. But congrats to Kelly Clarkson.
- 27:43Speaker 5: I feel like that's a good spot for her.
- 27:45Speaker 1: Yeah, well, I mean, just the fact that she's still performing.
- 27:48Speaker 1: She's been through a lot the last couple years. I
- 27:50Speaker 1: want to see her do well.
- 27:51Speaker 5: I do, too. Guys, I'm Candace Lopez. Those are your
- 27:53Speaker 5: Texas Top Stories.

- 28:35Speaker 1: All right. It is time to confess.
- 28:36Speaker 6: You have a confession. What is your secret?
- 28:39Speaker 4: Oh, man. So this is probably going to sound harsh,
- 28:42Speaker 4: but I snitched on my own son.
- 28:45Speaker 1: Snitched on him? To who? What happened?
- 28:47Speaker 4: So, okay, I hate cheaters. I don't care who you are, friend, family, stranger.
- 28:53Speaker 4: I mean, I apparently met you in my own child.
- 28:56Speaker 1: Okay.
- 28:56Speaker 5: What does that mean?
- 28:57Speaker 6: Did he cheat?
- 28:58Speaker 4: Yeah, he just turned 16, and he's been dating his
- 29:01Speaker 4: girlfriend for like a year, and she's a really sweet girl.
- 29:04Speaker 4: I like her a lot, and as far as I knew,
- 29:07Speaker 4: they were doing great.
- 29:08Speaker 1: Oh, no.
- 29:09Speaker 4: So here's the thing. I still occasionally go through my
- 29:11Speaker 4: son's phone. Yes, I know he's 16. I know some
- 29:15Speaker 4: people are going to say I'm invading his privacy, but
- 29:18Speaker 4: I pay for the phone. So every once in a while,
- 29:21Speaker 4: mama is checking.
- 29:22Speaker 6: I don't blame you for that. I mean, if you're yeah,
- 29:24Speaker 6: he's still a kid.
- 29:25Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 29:25Speaker 5: I mean, you have every right to.
- 29:27Speaker 1: Better safe than sorry. So you go through his phone
- 29:29Speaker 1: and what do you find?
- 29:30Speaker 4: Well, a couple of weeks ago, I'm looking for it
- 29:32Speaker 4: and I find all these messages between him and another girl.
- 29:36Speaker 4: At first, I'm thinking, right, maybe there's friends, right? Hopefully?
- 29:41Speaker 2: Nope.
- 29:43Speaker 4: Not a chance.
- 29:44Speaker 1: What?
- 29:45Speaker 4: And, yeah, I mean, nothing was super graphic or anything,
- 29:48Speaker 4: but it's very obvious that something had happened between them.
- 29:52Speaker 4: They were talking about kissing, when they could see each
- 29:54Speaker 4: other again, and even making sure, like, certain mutual friends
- 29:58Speaker 4: didn't find out.
- 29:59Speaker 1: Oh, man.
- 30:00Speaker 8: Oh, man.
- 30:01Speaker 5: No.
- 30:02Speaker 1: It's not good. Okay. So you see this.
- 30:05Speaker 4: I was livid.
- 30:06Speaker 1: You were mad.
- 30:07Speaker 5: Yeah, I would be too.
- 30:08Speaker 4: So mad. So mad.
- 30:10Speaker 6: So what do you do?
- 30:10Speaker 4: And, you know, well, first, I'm disappointed because I raised
- 30:13Speaker 4: him better than that. Second, whether he's my son or not,
- 30:16Speaker 4: I'm not letting some cheater run around thinking he can
- 30:19Speaker 4: have a girlfriend and a girl on the other side.
- 30:21Speaker 2: Wow.
- 30:21Speaker 4: So, yeah, I told his girlfriend.
- 30:26Speaker 1: You did? Oh, come on, Mom.
- 30:27Speaker 6: You told his girl. So you told his girlfriend.
- 30:30Speaker 1: Okay.
- 30:31Speaker 4: Technically, I didn't tell her. I made a fake Instagram
- 30:34Speaker 4: account and slid into her DMs.
- 30:38Speaker 1: Wow so modern of you okay if you're gonna do
- 30:41Speaker 1: it that's that's the way to do it so she
- 30:43Speaker 1: doesn't know it was you so you you you make
- 30:45Speaker 1: an instagram account and say what what do you say
- 30:47Speaker 1: i was.
- 30:47Speaker 4: Basically like you don't know me but you might want
- 30:50Speaker 4: to ask your boyfriend about this girl and then i
- 30:52Speaker 4: gave her enough specific details that she knew i wasn't
- 30:55Speaker 4: just some random person trying to start drama.
- 30:58Speaker 1: You you snitched on your own son Wow. And said, hey,
- 31:03Speaker 1: he's cheating. I mean, I don't think you necessarily did
- 31:08Speaker 1: the wrong thing.
- 31:09Speaker 5: No, I don't hate this because it's got to stop
- 31:12Speaker 5: at some point.
- 31:12Speaker 1: So what happens then? Did she find out? Did she
- 31:16Speaker 1: get the message and freak out?
- 31:18Speaker 4: Yeah, she confronted him and broke up with him. And
- 31:21Speaker 4: he has no idea that it was me. And, you know,
- 31:25Speaker 4: for the past week and a half, my poor boy
- 31:27Speaker 4: walking around the house completely heartbroken.
- 31:30Speaker 1: Oh.
- 31:30Speaker 4: He's angry. He's upset.
- 31:32Speaker 1: And it's your fault, Mom.
- 31:34Speaker 6: No, it's his fault.
- 31:36Speaker 4: No, it's his fault. It is his fault.
- 31:41Speaker 5: He's not crying to the other girl now?
- 31:42Speaker 4: I mean, I don't think so. He really liked his girlfriend.
- 31:46Speaker 4: He loved her.
- 31:47Speaker 6: Do you regret doing this?
- 31:49Speaker 4: No, absolutely not. Do I feel guilty? Yeah, maybe. But
- 31:52Speaker 4: I don't regret it.
- 31:53Speaker 1: You could have talked to him.
- 31:54Speaker 4: His dad is a cheater.
- 31:55Speaker 3: Oh.
- 31:55Speaker 4: His dad's a cheater.
- 31:57Speaker 7: Oh.
- 31:57Speaker 4: And that's one of the main reasons that we're not
- 31:59Speaker 4: together anymore. So, and then he actually went on and
- 32:02Speaker 4: got married again and cheated on that wife, too.
- 32:05Speaker 2: Oh.
- 32:05Speaker 1: Okay, so... So I wanted.
- 32:07Speaker 4: Him to learn and experience the consequences, you know? You cheat,
- 32:10Speaker 4: you lie, you lose somebody you care about.
- 32:12Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 32:13Speaker 2: That's it. I.
- 32:14Speaker 1: You're not wrong. I don't think, so you're saying, Pooh,
- 32:17Speaker 1: what would, if you think it's wrong because she snitched
- 32:20Speaker 1: on her.
- 32:21Speaker 4: Yes.
- 32:22Speaker 1: So how would you have handled it? You find out
- 32:24Speaker 1: that your son is cheating on his girlfriend. Do you
- 32:26Speaker 1: do anything or do you're like, that's my boy? No,
- 32:30Speaker 1: I would have had to talk with him.
- 32:32Speaker 8: This brings back memories because back in my high school days,
- 32:36Speaker 8: I had about three or four girlfriends and my mom
- 32:39Speaker 8: told me, cut it out. And I kept on doing it.
- 32:42Speaker 8: And then when Stephanie showed up, She called Stephanie Gloria.
- 32:46Speaker 8: Gloria showed up.
- 32:47Speaker 1: She called Gloria.
- 32:48Speaker 6: My mom still does that.
- 32:49Speaker 8: Yeah. So my mom did that. I was like, mom,
- 32:52Speaker 8: why are you doing me like that? She was like, no,
- 32:54Speaker 8: she was doing it on purpose.
- 32:55Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 32:56Speaker 8: She, she got on me, but you know, I didn't
- 32:58Speaker 8: learn my lesson until years later, but yeah.
- 33:01Speaker 1: So this brings back memories. Well, you're kind of supporting
- 33:03Speaker 1: the argument. I think that you got to teach your
- 33:05Speaker 1: kids a lesson. I know, but I mean, at least
- 33:08Speaker 1: talk to him first before you do that. You didn't
- 33:10Speaker 1: already went through his phone. It doesn't mean that, first
- 33:13Speaker 1: of all, they're 16. It's not like most of the
- 33:16Speaker 1: time these relationships don't last. Yeah, but that's that heartbreak.
- 33:19Speaker 6: It is at first.
- 33:20Speaker 5: Well, he brought it on himself.
- 33:21Speaker 3: Yeah, but he's.
- 33:22Speaker 1: Moping around the house. It doesn't matter. He did it
- 33:25Speaker 1: to himself. Wow. You're right.
- 33:28Speaker 5: When I got cheated on and I knew the person's mom,
- 33:30Speaker 5: like not well, but well enough that I just thought, wow,
- 33:33Speaker 5: where'd she go wrong? It crossed my mind. Like, wow,
- 33:35Speaker 5: you let this person grow up and to be a,
- 33:38Speaker 5: an adult man, who's going to lie and cheat like this.
- 33:40Speaker 2: Wow.
- 33:40Speaker 1: Can you imagine if you were to find like, what
- 33:43Speaker 1: if she would have actually known if my, if that
- 33:45Speaker 1: person's mom knew and she just didn't say anything.
- 33:47Speaker 2: Right.
- 33:48Speaker 1: You would be like, wow. I mean, come on. Oh, yeah.
- 33:50Speaker 5: I'm done with all of you.
- 33:51Speaker 1: Moms are going to do whatever to protect their son.
- 33:54Speaker 1: I get it. But at the same time, you also
- 33:56Speaker 1: have to teach them that this is not the way
- 33:58Speaker 1: you treat people.
- 33:59Speaker 5: Right.
- 33:59Speaker 6: And you don't do that to people.
- 34:00Speaker 5: Not women.
- 34:01Speaker 1: No. Nobody. You should definitely not cheat on your partner.
- 34:04Speaker 1: I mean, break up with the person if you don't
- 34:06Speaker 1: want to be with them.
- 34:07Speaker 6: And move on.
- 34:08Speaker 5: Exactly.
- 34:09Speaker 1: Especially at 16.
- 34:10Speaker 6: Who cares anyway?
- 34:11Speaker 7: Right.
- 34:11Speaker 5: What are you heartbroken about? You can't have your cake
- 34:13Speaker 5: and eat it too?
- 34:14Speaker 1: That's exactly. And he's learning his lesson right now. I'm
- 34:17Speaker 1: curious what people think about this, and I'm going to
- 34:19Speaker 1: see what they have to call in because lines are
- 34:21Speaker 1: already ringing. But, hey, thank you so much, and let
- 34:24Speaker 1: us know what happens.
- 34:25Speaker 4: Yeah, of course. I will. Absolutely.
- 34:27Speaker 6: Good for you, Mom. Turn them all in.
- 34:29Speaker 1: Snitch on everyone.
- 34:30Speaker 4: Yep.
- 34:31Speaker 1: Cheaters suck. And it said, wah, wah.
- 34:35Speaker 5: Wah, wah.
- 34:36Speaker 1: Wah, wah.
- 34:41Speaker 3: It's time for Candice Court. It gets settled here with
- 34:45Speaker 3: Billy the Kid in the morning.
- 34:46Speaker 1: All rise for the Honorable Judge Candice Lopez, who's approaching
- 34:49Speaker 1: the bench. And by the way, she also has free gas, too.
- 34:52Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 34:53Speaker 6: You got that gas card right now.
- 34:54Speaker 5: Yeah, it's right here.
- 34:55Speaker 6: Yeah, it's on the bench, the very formal bench.
- 34:57Speaker 5: $ 700 gas card.
- 34:59Speaker 6: $ 700 jackpot.
- 35:00Speaker 1: That's what it's up to right now. $ 700 in free gas.
- 35:02Speaker 1: We're going to play it like 830. So coming up,
- 35:05Speaker 1: get ready for that. Welcome to Candice Court on Mix 102.9.
- 35:08Speaker 1: It's Billy the Kid, Candice, producer Pooh. Hey, guys, this
- 35:11Speaker 1: is Courtney, and I'm writing you in hopes that you
- 35:13Speaker 1: will use this for Candice Court. I'm trying to figure
- 35:16Speaker 1: out why something with my new relationship bothers me as
- 35:21Speaker 1: bad as it does. My new boyfriend has a female
- 35:25Speaker 1: best friend.
- 35:26Speaker 2: Oh.
- 35:28Speaker 1: And it rubs me the wrong way. Like, I just
- 35:31Speaker 1: can't seem to get over it. He's never done anything shady,
- 35:34Speaker 1: but I'm sorry. It's just weird to me.
- 35:36Speaker 6: They text.
- 35:37Speaker 1: They talk. He acts like it's no big deal, and
- 35:41Speaker 1: I try to act like it's no big deal, too,
- 35:43Speaker 1: but it's bothering me more and more as time goes on.
- 35:45Speaker 1: I feel like she treats me differently than it would
- 35:48Speaker 1: be if it was a guy best friend. The whole
- 35:51Speaker 1: thing is just kind of strange, and I'm starting to
- 35:53Speaker 1: get in my head about it almost nonstop.
- 35:56Speaker 6: Please help.
- 35:57Speaker 1: Is this a red flag?
- 35:59Speaker 4: Ooh.
- 36:00Speaker 1: It's a good one. All right. You've got a female
- 36:03Speaker 1: new boyfriend has a female best friend.
- 36:07Speaker 5: Oh, interesting. I'd be in my head about it, too.
- 36:11Speaker 1: I bet he does have a female best friend. Oh,
- 36:15Speaker 1: come on. Brown chicken, brown cow. I bet he does. Candace,
- 36:20Speaker 1: would you be okay with this?
- 36:21Speaker 5: No, I couldn't handle that. Yeah, they're talking and texting.
- 36:25Speaker 5: There's a different vibe when you're on the phone with
- 36:27Speaker 5: a woman versus your homies, your bros. We're talking guy things.
- 36:32Speaker 1: Yeah, maybe I'm old school, but I find it very rare.
- 36:35Speaker 1: I'm not saying it can't happen, but I know how
- 36:38Speaker 1: men operate. And I just know that it's just really
- 36:42Speaker 1: hard to believe. And I'm not saying in some cases.
- 36:44Speaker 1: There's some cases. Cool.
- 36:46Speaker 6: But best friends.
- 36:47Speaker 5: We're talking about the best friend. Best friends. We have
- 36:51Speaker 5: best friends, groups of best friends. It's girls. It's guys.
- 36:54Speaker 5: It's whatever it is. Best friends.
- 36:56Speaker 1: I have girlfriends.
- 36:58Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 36:58Speaker 1: You know, Candace.
- 36:59Speaker 6: But this is also a relationship where I've worked with
- 37:01Speaker 6: you for decades.
- 37:03Speaker 5: Right.
- 37:03Speaker 1: So it's different. Yeah. So, yes, I have girlfriends. I
- 37:07Speaker 1: wouldn't consider any of them a best friend.
- 37:09Speaker 7: Right.
- 37:09Speaker 1: Oh, come on. Y'all being insecure. Ain't nothing wrong with that.
- 37:12Speaker 2: What?
- 37:13Speaker 1: I have a couple of girls that I consider. Who
- 37:14Speaker 1: is your girl?
- 37:15Speaker 4: Okay.
- 37:15Speaker 1: Hold on.
- 37:16Speaker 8: That I consider best friends and I don't want nothing
- 37:19Speaker 8: from them and they definitely don't want.
- 37:20Speaker 1: Nothing from me. Your best friend's a girl?
- 37:24Speaker 8: Yeah, I got a couple of them. I got a
- 37:26Speaker 8: couple of them that I consider my best friends.
- 37:29Speaker 1: Maribel. Claudia. Let me see. Vanessa. I haven't talked to
- 37:33Speaker 1: Vanessa in a while. Then she's not your best friend.
- 37:35Speaker 1: How are you going to say, oh, Vanessa's my best friend.
- 37:38Speaker 1: I haven't talked to her in years. I consider them
- 37:39Speaker 1: my best friends.
- 37:40Speaker 6: She's not your best friend.
- 37:41Speaker 1: They are. How are you going to tell me?
- 37:43Speaker 5: Would any of the girls that you dated, though, be
- 37:45Speaker 5: okay if you were texting and talking to your girl
- 37:48Speaker 5: best friend? I mean, you talk every day. You text
- 37:50Speaker 5: every day with someone.
- 37:51Speaker 6: If you're a best friend.
- 37:52Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 37:53Speaker 6: You're talking a lot.
- 37:54Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, they would have to. Wow. But have
- 37:57Speaker 1: they been? Let me see. Claudia. Yeah, my baby mama
- 38:01Speaker 1: didn't say nothing wrong. She didn't have a problem with Claudia.
- 38:03Speaker 2: No.
- 38:04Speaker 1: But that's it. I don't want nothing from them.
- 38:08Speaker 6: We're processing. I just don't think in most cases.
- 38:11Speaker 8: If you make it apparent when you first are dating
- 38:14Speaker 8: that person, you say, hey, this is my homegirl.
- 38:16Speaker 1: I don't want nothing from her. She don't want nothing
- 38:18Speaker 1: from me. And then right then and there. You decide
- 38:22Speaker 1: whether you want to go further with me. If not, okay.
- 38:25Speaker 1: It's not what that is.
- 38:26Speaker 6: Yeah, but also feelings change, too.
- 38:28Speaker 1: So I don't think it's unreasonable that she was like,
- 38:30Speaker 1: I'm accepting this at first. And then if she gets
- 38:32Speaker 1: to know the guy.
- 38:32Speaker 5: Right, you're sitting with it longer. Experiencing this longer.
- 38:36Speaker 1: It doesn't feel right. She's like, I thought I was
- 38:38Speaker 1: going to be okay with this. So you can have,
- 38:39Speaker 1: your feelings can change.
- 38:41Speaker 5: Yeah, and I'm sorry. No woman is going to have
- 38:42Speaker 5: priority over me. I don't care how long you've known her.
- 38:46Speaker 5: You know what I mean? Your mom's going to have
- 38:47Speaker 5: her own priority, her lane, and whatever. And your best
- 38:50Speaker 5: friends will have theirs, too. But that would make me uncomfortable.
- 38:54Speaker 1: Yeah, but I wouldn't cross a line like that. I
- 38:56Speaker 1: wouldn't choose her over you. You know what I'm saying?
- 38:58Speaker 1: We're in a relationship. But she can still be my
- 39:00Speaker 1: best friend.
- 39:01Speaker 6: I mean, come on.
- 39:02Speaker 1: Be secure within yourself.
- 39:03Speaker 6: I just don't really think that those are your best friends.
- 39:06Speaker 1: Why? I'm just being real. I've known you for 30 years,
- 39:09Speaker 1: and they're not your best friends. They are. If you
- 39:11Speaker 1: don't see people and talk to people all the time,
- 39:14Speaker 1: they're not your best friends. But I text Claudia. We talk.
- 39:17Speaker 8: Probably every other day we talk or text. You know,
- 39:21Speaker 8: I'm always on the phone.
- 39:22Speaker 6: Oh, yeah, we know. so so i mean don't get
- 39:25Speaker 6: your job done we.
- 39:25Speaker 8: Talk all the time so it's not like it's not
- 39:28Speaker 8: like i want anything from i hear her problems.
- 39:31Speaker 1: Okay let me ask you this okay you have a
- 39:33Speaker 1: girlfriend okay are you okay with her best friend being
- 39:37Speaker 1: another guy i've had that situation i had no that
- 39:41Speaker 1: wasn't the situation i asked i asked would you be
- 39:43Speaker 1: okay with it You know, no, I probably wouldn't.
- 39:47Speaker 5: Oh, my God! So why is it okay for you
- 39:49Speaker 5: to have a female?
- 39:50Speaker 8: How is that okay? What double standard world do we
- 39:55Speaker 8: live in? I'd have to meet him first.
- 39:58Speaker 1: No, why? So you don't trust her to make the
- 40:02Speaker 1: judgment of someone she's calling her best friend, but you
- 40:04Speaker 1: trust your judgment? Yeah, because I know me. I know
- 40:07Speaker 1: I'm not going to want anything from that girl. She
- 40:09Speaker 1: should know that. Trust your boy. So you would have
- 40:12Speaker 1: to approve her relationship? Of course. Yeah, I'd be like, hey,
- 40:15Speaker 1: I need to know about dude. How long y'all been together?
- 40:18Speaker 6: So you're going to let her do the same?
- 40:20Speaker 1: Yeah, I would introduce.
- 40:21Speaker 6: And if she says I don't like it, then you're
- 40:23Speaker 6: going to.
- 40:23Speaker 1: She'd have to have a very good reason. Very good reason.
- 40:27Speaker 1: Because this girl, we have history.
- 40:29Speaker 8: That girl knew my mama when my mama was alive.
- 40:32Speaker 1: I'm not just going to kick her to curb like that.
- 40:34Speaker 1: I'm not saying you would, but if she's not comfortable
- 40:37Speaker 1: with it. If the girl I'm dating.
- 40:40Speaker 8: This is her best friend, and they've only been best
- 40:42Speaker 8: friends for like three or four years.
- 40:44Speaker 1: Come on, dude.
- 40:44Speaker 3: What?
- 40:45Speaker 1: I know that dude has some other intentions. What?
- 40:48Speaker 8: If you grew up with that guy, I wouldn't have
- 40:50Speaker 8: a problem with it because I know y'all have history.
- 40:53Speaker 1: Okay. There's a difference.
- 40:54Speaker 5: All right.
- 40:55Speaker 1: He just can't pop up on the scene and be like.
- 40:56Speaker 1: I didn't say he popped up on the scene.
- 40:58Speaker 5: Yeah, I just wonder like how much she knew, how close,
- 41:01Speaker 5: if she knew that they were best friends when she
- 41:03Speaker 5: started this relationship.
- 41:04Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 41:05Speaker 5: She should have made.
- 41:06Speaker 1: That decision when they first started.
- 41:07Speaker 5: Maybe he wasn't clear about it.
- 41:10Speaker 1: I know Pooh, and I know if he had a
- 41:11Speaker 1: girlfriend and she had a man best friend, and one
- 41:14Speaker 1: day she's like, hey, sorry, I'm going to hang out
- 41:16Speaker 1: with Kyle. Poo would be like, oh, okay, that's cool.
- 41:21Speaker 1: And the whole time he'd be like, man, I don't
- 41:23Speaker 1: like this Kyle dude. Yeah. I know him.
- 41:26Speaker 5: What are y'all doing? What are y'all talking about?
- 41:28Speaker 1: I'm not that insecure. Now you, on the other hand,
- 41:30Speaker 1: I know you're insecure. You wouldn't put up with it. Well,
- 41:33Speaker 1: I wouldn't love it. Yeah. But I also wouldn't expect
- 41:36Speaker 1: her to love it either. I don't have a girl
- 41:38Speaker 1: best friend.
- 41:38Speaker 5: Right.
- 41:39Speaker 1: So because I just feel like that's a rare situation.
- 41:41Speaker 1: But it doesn't matter what we think. Candace Lopez, what
- 41:44Speaker 1: is the verdict?
- 41:45Speaker 5: Yeah, look, guy, I think you're guilty of being a girlfriend, Greg.
- 41:48Speaker 5: He better include you. If this is what's going on,
- 41:52Speaker 5: add me to the group chat. If you're hanging out
- 41:55Speaker 5: with her, I'm hanging out with her, too.
- 41:56Speaker 1: Guilty of being a?
- 41:57Speaker 5: Yeah, he's a girlfriend, Greg.
- 42:00Speaker 3: It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
- 42:03Speaker 3: Kid in the morning.
- 42:04Speaker 2: Only on the new Mix 102.9.
- 42:05Speaker 1: I'm so excited for a couple reasons. First of all, Candice,
- 42:09Speaker 1: we have a $ 700 jackpot free.
- 42:11Speaker 6: Gas coming up.
- 42:12Speaker 5: That's amazing.
- 42:12Speaker 1: All right, we're going to do that next, like a
- 42:14Speaker 1: little before 830. Also, the State Fair of Texas is
- 42:17Speaker 1: here with the Big Tex Choice Award finalists.
- 42:20Speaker 5: I can smell it.
- 42:21Speaker 1: I know. There's so much food, so we're going to
- 42:23Speaker 1: have them on, get a little preview of the fair,
- 42:24Speaker 1: which will be here before you know it.
- 42:26Speaker 6: A lot going on. Candace, what's happening?
- 42:28Speaker 5: Well, a Fort Worth family has filed a $ 1 million
- 42:30Speaker 5: lawsuit against Arca Montessori School after a substitute teacher allegedly
- 42:35Speaker 5: encouraged four-year-olds to fight. Surveillance video confirmed the child had
- 42:40Speaker 5: physical injuries as well as emotional distress. This lawsuit also
- 42:44Speaker 5: alleges the teacher also assaulted the child and that this
- 42:48Speaker 5: academy has a pattern of safety issues totaling 16 citations
- 42:52Speaker 5: since it opened in 2024. Uh, but yeah, I hated
- 42:56Speaker 5: to see this and online, you know, there's some screen
- 42:58Speaker 5: caps of the footage and then detailed descriptions of what
- 43:01Speaker 5: was seen. Awful things happening at this.
- 43:04Speaker 1: It was just not too long ago when somebody was
- 43:05Speaker 1: doing a fight club at a nursing home.
- 43:07Speaker 5: Yeah. I can't believe that. I thought that was a joke.
- 43:10Speaker 5: I thought you were like real or fake musing me.
- 43:12Speaker 8: No, I know.
- 43:13Speaker 1: I know.
- 43:13Speaker 6: Cause you started laughing.
- 43:15Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 43:15Speaker 1: And then I'm like, no, I'm not kidding. You're like, oh,
- 43:17Speaker 1: now I feel bad.
- 43:18Speaker 5: Right.
- 43:18Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 43:19Speaker 1: And by the way, kids are going to do that.
- 43:21Speaker 1: Kids are going to fight anyway. You don't have to
- 43:22Speaker 1: tell them to fight.
- 43:23Speaker 5: Yeah, but four-year-olds?
- 43:24Speaker 6: No, that's true.
- 43:25Speaker 5: Yeah, just awful there, but I'll keep you posted on
- 43:28Speaker 5: what comes of that. And, guys, you might be able
- 43:30Speaker 5: to take your water bottles through airport security soon. TSA
- 43:34Speaker 5: is considering changing the rules for certain pre-check passengers once
- 43:38Speaker 5: they get these new 3D CT scanners installed at select airports.
- 43:44Speaker 5: So these scanners, I guess, can detect the liquid contents
- 43:47Speaker 5: of bottles, and then if this is approved... the change
- 43:50Speaker 5: would start at certain airports in the coming months. So
- 43:53Speaker 5: I'm all for this.
- 43:55Speaker 1: I'm not.
- 43:56Speaker 5: You're not?
- 43:56Speaker 1: No, because I just want... I don't want any security issues.
- 44:01Speaker 9: Okay.
- 44:01Speaker 6: It's just one more thing we got.
- 44:02Speaker 1: To deal with.
- 44:02Speaker 5: Right, but if you just walk through with it and
- 44:04Speaker 5: it's like, you're good, you're good. Like, who's carrying anything
- 44:06Speaker 5: weird in their water bottle?
- 44:08Speaker 1: This is.
- 44:08Speaker 6: Listen.
- 44:11Speaker 1: We had these security reasons and all these things put
- 44:13Speaker 1: in place for a reason.
- 44:14Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 44:15Speaker 1: And now they're just slowly going away. And I'm like,
- 44:16Speaker 1: do we really want them to go away?
- 44:18Speaker 8: Right.
- 44:18Speaker 5: But this is because we have high tech now. I guess.
- 44:21Speaker 5: It can tell what's in the bottle.
- 44:22Speaker 1: I guess. But do we really need water? There's water
- 44:24Speaker 1: inside the airport. You get it.
- 44:25Speaker 6: There's fountains.
- 44:26Speaker 5: Yeah, but.
- 44:27Speaker 6: With filtered water, Candace.
- 44:28Speaker 5: Well, some of it. But still, I just like to
- 44:30Speaker 5: bring my own water. Sometimes I keep track of how
- 44:32Speaker 5: much water I drink a day.
- 44:33Speaker 6: Yeah, but then.
- 44:34Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 44:35Speaker 5: It's weird, but I want my own water.
- 44:36Speaker 1: You go through security, and it's like one TSA checkpoint
- 44:39Speaker 1: wants your shoes off. The next one doesn't, and they're
- 44:41Speaker 1: screaming at you, but you don't know what to do.
- 44:43Speaker 1: It's like.
- 44:43Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 44:44Speaker 1: Laptops in. Leave your laptops.
- 44:45Speaker 6: Don't touch it.
- 44:46Speaker 1: It's like, okay, well, we don't know what.
- 44:48Speaker 5: I know, but I feel like it'll be faster this
- 44:50Speaker 5: way because half the time it's someone forgot they had
- 44:52Speaker 5: a water bottle in their backpack and now they got
- 44:54Speaker 5: to take it out. We got to take it and
- 44:55Speaker 5: throw it away.
- 44:56Speaker 9: Do you want to keep it?
- 44:56Speaker 5: Do you want to drink it? Do you want to
- 44:58Speaker 5: go back to your car?
- 44:58Speaker 1: I had a pocket knife in there one time and
- 45:00Speaker 1: I thought they were going to shut the airport down.
- 45:02Speaker 5: Really?
- 45:03Speaker 1: Oh, I forgot it was in there. They're like, sir,
- 45:06Speaker 1: come over here. And they're like, you have a knife.
- 45:07Speaker 1: And I was like.
- 45:08Speaker 6: No, I don't.
- 45:09Speaker 1: Oh, I do.
- 45:09Speaker 6: Oh.
- 45:10Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 45:11Speaker 2: Wow.
- 45:11Speaker 1: Okay.
- 45:12Speaker 5: And you're worried about water people.
- 45:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 45:14Speaker 6: Well, I had to throw it away.
- 45:15Speaker 5: It's fine. Okay. Guys, Martha Stewart has people talking this
- 45:18Speaker 5: morning after she made a comment about possibly sharing some
- 45:22Speaker 5: very personal photos. I can't make it through this story
- 45:26Speaker 5: because she's 85, right? Yeah.
- 45:29Speaker 6: Do your thing, Martha. You know I got a crush
- 45:30Speaker 6: on Martha.
- 45:31Speaker 1: I know.
- 45:31Speaker 5: That's why it's making me laugh. But she posted this selfie.
- 45:35Speaker 2: Oh.
- 45:36Speaker 5: Where she's making this like pouty, flirty, you know, face.
- 45:40Speaker 5: And the caption originally says, basically she's been thinking about
- 45:44Speaker 5: releasing these pics.
- 45:47Speaker 1: I don't want it, though. I know I have a
- 45:49Speaker 1: crush on her, but I don't want to see Martha.
- 45:50Speaker 5: If you said you wanted it, I'd be really weirded
- 45:53Speaker 5: out right now.
- 45:54Speaker 6: Well, I'm glad that you're not weirded out just that
- 45:55Speaker 6: I have a crush on Martha.
- 45:56Speaker 5: No, I think that's fine.
- 45:58Speaker 1: But I mean, for 85, she looks incredible.
- 46:00Speaker 5: She does.
- 46:01Speaker 6: She's witty.
- 46:02Speaker 1: She's, you know, she's got a little something, too. She
- 46:04Speaker 1: likes them older women, her and Judge Judy. Yeah, Judge Judy, yeah.
- 46:08Speaker 1: Judge Judy's 83.
- 46:09Speaker 5: She's retiring, too, so maybe she's going to do this.
- 46:11Speaker 2: 83?
- 46:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 46:12Speaker 6: A little too young for me.
- 46:13Speaker 2: Oh!
- 46:14Speaker 5: What's funny about this is that later the caption was changed.
- 46:18Speaker 5: So it now says, Martha may be known for cooking,
- 46:22Speaker 5: but she's no stranger to serving. But the comments noticed
- 46:26Speaker 5: that the caption changed.
- 46:28Speaker 6: Serve up those buttermilk biscuits.
- 46:31Speaker 5: The comments were like, put the original caption back, ma'am.
- 46:34Speaker 5: An incredible corporate cleanup because they're saying like, hey, who
- 46:38Speaker 5: did that?
- 46:38Speaker 1: No, I don't need Martha showing everybody her goodies.
- 46:41Speaker 5: No.
- 46:42Speaker 1: No.
- 46:43Speaker 5: OnlyFansMartha?
- 46:44Speaker 2: No.
- 46:44Speaker 1: No.
- 46:47Speaker 5: We only want your recipes, Martha.
- 46:49Speaker 1: I don't want that.
- 46:50Speaker 5: Okay. I'm subscribing to OnlyRecipes.
- 46:55Speaker 6: Only fans. If Martha gets on Only Fans, it's over.
- 46:58Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah.
- 46:59Speaker 6: That's not okay.
- 47:00Speaker 5: No, it's not okay. Give us the pumpkin recipes this season.
- 47:04Speaker 1: Get your grandma.
- 47:05Speaker 9: Call it good.
- 47:06Speaker 1: Okay.
- 47:06Speaker 2: All right.
- 47:07Speaker 5: I'm Candace Lopez. Those are your Texas Top Stories on
- 47:10Speaker 5: Mix 102.9. The new Mix 102.9.
- 47:11Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 47:13Speaker 1: If you're ready for this, Candace. I'm not sure you
- 47:16Speaker 1: can handle this. It's Mix 102.9. Billy the Keep, Candace Lopez.
- 47:20Speaker 1: Producer Poo is here, and I'm so excited to announce
- 47:22Speaker 1: Taylor from the State Fair of Texas.
- 47:23Speaker 6: Good morning, Taylor.
- 47:25Speaker 1: Good morning.
- 47:25Speaker 9: Thanks for having me.
- 47:26Speaker 1: Your official title is not Big Texas Assistant.
- 47:29Speaker 2: It is.
- 47:29Speaker 5: That's fine.
- 47:30Speaker 6: You could be. That's a pretty cool title. Yeah, he
- 47:32Speaker 6: is your boss. You have the coolest boss in the world.
- 47:33Speaker 1: Thank you. Our boss is pretty cool, too. But your
- 47:35Speaker 1: official title at the fair.
- 47:37Speaker 9: Director of Communications.
- 47:38Speaker 1: Okay, Director of Communications and Director of just amazing food.
- 47:41Speaker 1: When she comes, we get excited because here comes all
- 47:44Speaker 1: the food rolling in. The Big Tex.
- 47:46Speaker 6: Awards, Choice Awards finalists.
- 47:48Speaker 1: Uh, we have so much food to try today. Now
- 47:51Speaker 1: I was lucky because I was one of the judges
- 47:53Speaker 1: this year, which Taylor was a dream come true.
- 47:56Speaker 6: Thank you so much for that.
- 47:57Speaker 9: We're so happy to make that happen.
- 47:59Speaker 6: I was so happy to be a part of it.
- 48:00Speaker 1: I literally, I don't think I've ever met like anyone
- 48:03Speaker 1: who's like, People come in there like, you get to
- 48:05Speaker 1: do the coolest things.
- 48:06Speaker 6: You get to meet celebs. And I'm like, yeah.
- 48:08Speaker 1: But then when I was a judge, people were like, okay,
- 48:10Speaker 1: now this is next level.
- 48:11Speaker 9: You made it.
- 48:12Speaker 1: You made it.
- 48:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 48:13Speaker 1: You made it. So fair's about to kick off, which
- 48:16Speaker 1: we're so excited about. We're like, what, a week away almost?
- 48:19Speaker 5: A little over a week.
- 48:20Speaker 6: A little over a week away. Kicks off on the 25th.
- 48:23Speaker 6: The food is one of the best parts of the fair.
- 48:25Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 48:26Speaker 1: I don't think, though, what I understood, though, Taylor, and
- 48:29Speaker 1: I want to give you guys your flowers because you
- 48:32Speaker 1: never really understand how amazing these vendors are. There are
- 48:37Speaker 1: a lot of local small business families who enter for this.
- 48:42Speaker 1: And I don't think people understand how much it helps
- 48:44Speaker 1: their businesses. Totally.
- 48:46Speaker 7: And I know we all love the food and we
- 48:48Speaker 7: come for the food. but it's the people behind the
- 48:50Speaker 7: food that make it so special. And like you said,
- 48:53Speaker 7: there are small businesses at the end of the day.
- 48:54Speaker 7: Some of them have restaurants here in DFW, they have
- 48:57Speaker 7: catering businesses, or they travel to other events and fairs
- 49:00Speaker 7: to just basically make their business survive. And so you
- 49:03Speaker 7: coming out to the fair and trying their food, is
- 49:06Speaker 7: helping them and their business thrive.
- 49:07Speaker 9: For the whole year.
- 49:08Speaker 7: It's also helping the fair because we're a nonprofit. So
- 49:10Speaker 7: your ticket is helping give back the rest of the year.
- 49:12Speaker 1: Well, that's another thing people don't realize is the State
- 49:15Speaker 1: Fair of Texas one of the biggest nonprofits in North Texas,
- 49:18Speaker 1: and they do so much. You give back so much
- 49:19Speaker 1: to the community and whatnot. So yeah, it's fun. We
- 49:22Speaker 1: have a great time eating the food, but it's helping
- 49:24Speaker 1: a lot of people when you support the fair, the vendors,
- 49:28Speaker 1: all these amazing people who put so much hard work
- 49:31Speaker 1: in it.
- 49:31Speaker 6: So should we get to it?
- 49:33Speaker 5: Let's do it.
- 49:34Speaker 1: All right, let's do it. I'm ready when you are.
- 49:35Speaker 1: Let's run down some of the food, the previews. And
- 49:37Speaker 1: we're at Mix 1029 FM. If you want to see this,
- 49:39Speaker 1: go down on Instagram. Taylor, you start wherever you want.
- 49:42Speaker 1: All right.
- 49:42Speaker 7: Okay.
- 49:42Speaker 9: We're going to start with the burger chop tater tacos.
- 49:44Speaker 9: We got to do it.
- 49:45Speaker 5: Okay.
- 49:46Speaker 9: Candace, you're right over here.
- 49:48Speaker 5: Oh, that's it over there. Okay, we're coming.
- 49:51Speaker 1: Describe this, Taylor, because this is one of Tommy G's creations,
- 49:53Speaker 1: and he also did the pickle pizza.
- 49:55Speaker 7: Yep, so viral pickle pizza. He's back again in the
- 49:58Speaker 7: Big Tech Choice Awards. He's also done the funnel cake
- 50:01Speaker 7: bacon queso burger, so he knows his stuff.
- 50:02Speaker 9: When it comes to burgers, too. And this item is
- 50:06Speaker 9: basically the shell.
- 50:07Speaker 7: You've got cheese and tater tots crusted together to make
- 50:12Speaker 7: that shell. And so it gives you that crispy, like
- 50:15Speaker 7: nostalgic kind of like edge of the nacho, like edge
- 50:17Speaker 7: of the quesadilla vibe.
- 50:19Speaker 9: And inside you've got, of course, your burger and burger
- 50:23Speaker 9: toppings all diced up.
- 50:24Speaker 1: Oh my God.
- 50:25Speaker 4: It's so good.
- 50:26Speaker 5: I'm ready for this.
- 50:27Speaker 6: A buffalo sauce.
- 50:27Speaker 9: Drizzled on top.
- 50:28Speaker 1: Yes. You try. Take a first bite, Candice, because there's
- 50:31Speaker 1: so much flavor in this. It was one of my
- 50:33Speaker 1: picks to win because it was just so good. Yeah.
- 50:36Speaker 1: So good.
- 50:37Speaker 6: You see what I'm saying?
- 50:38Speaker 2: Yes.
- 50:39Speaker 1: It's like the cheese shell is what does it with
- 50:40Speaker 1: the tater tots in it. Tommy G knows what he's doing.
- 50:43Speaker 9: For sure. And he actually had two finalists this year.
- 50:46Speaker 7: The next one I'll have you all try is the Flamin'
- 50:48Speaker 7: Crunch pizza.
- 50:49Speaker 1: Okay. This was one of my favorites because this is
- 50:53Speaker 1: a piece of pizza, but it's not just regular pizza.
- 50:56Speaker 1: There's a bunch of different queso on it. There's a
- 50:57Speaker 1: bunch of cheese on it. There's obviously hot Cheetos on it.
- 51:00Speaker 1: But Tommy G killed it with this, too. Yes, he did.
- 51:02Speaker 7: So, again, his pizza is amazing. If you're just getting
- 51:05Speaker 7: pepperoni pizza, amazing. Pickled pizza, now he's done it with
- 51:08Speaker 7: the Flamin' Crunch pizza. And it's got ranch. It's got
- 51:11Speaker 7: queso cheese as the base.
- 51:13Speaker 9: And then, of course, just covered in Flamin' Hot Cheetos.
- 51:16Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
- 51:17Speaker 6: And the way it all comes together, though, I'm telling you,
- 51:19Speaker 6: it just hits.
- 51:20Speaker 7: I know.
- 51:20Speaker 9: It sounds like, I don't know. Is that too much?
- 51:23Speaker 9: And then the flavors just kind of work.
- 51:24Speaker 6: The flavors work. And it's kind of like got this
- 51:26Speaker 6: creamy taste.
- 51:27Speaker 1: It's awesome. So these two were the two of my go-to.
- 51:30Speaker 1: These were like, I can't wait. Look at Candace.
- 51:32Speaker 6: She's in heaven.
- 51:33Speaker 1: What else do we want to go to?
- 51:36Speaker 9: Tell me. You all tell me. You want to try
- 51:37Speaker 9: another savory or sweet?
- 51:38Speaker 6: Candace, you pick.
- 51:40Speaker 9: Okay, you want a sweet? Let's go to something sweet.
- 51:41Speaker 7: I think you got to try your Fletcher's Chocolate Corny Dolls.
- 51:45Speaker 3: Yes!
- 51:45Speaker 5: Come on, girl. I've been waiting for this for months.
- 51:49Speaker 1: Obviously, Fletcher's iconic with the fair. That family has been around.
- 51:54Speaker 6: For how long?
- 51:54Speaker 9: So they've been out at the fair since 1942.
- 51:57Speaker 1: Wow.
- 51:58Speaker 7: And this is the first time they have been in
- 52:00Speaker 7: the finals for the Big Tech Choice Awards.
- 52:02Speaker 1: No way!
- 52:02Speaker 9: And they won.
- 52:03Speaker 6: Yeah, and they won.
- 52:04Speaker 7: So how crazy to have such an iconic brand out
- 52:07Speaker 7: at the state fair. But now to bring it in
- 52:09Speaker 7: this new innovative piece to their business.
- 52:12Speaker 9: And it's so simple. Like a chocolate corny dog. How
- 52:14Speaker 9: has this not been thought of? But it just works.
- 52:16Speaker 1: And it looks like it has mustard on it, but
- 52:18Speaker 1: it's actually icing.
- 52:19Speaker 9: Exactly. So it's kind of that fun.
- 52:21Speaker 5: What is that?
- 52:21Speaker 9: What do you mean chocolate corny dog?
- 52:23Speaker 7: But it's their same savory batter that they use for
- 52:26Speaker 7: their corny dogs. But inside you've got this chocolate fudge
- 52:29Speaker 7: that they've deep fried and it's ooey gooey melty chocolate.
- 52:32Speaker 7: And then they've got the vanilla icing squiggle on top
- 52:35Speaker 7: to look like mustard.
- 52:35Speaker 1: It works so perfectly. It's like this should be happening.
- 52:38Speaker 1: This should have happened years ago. But I'm so glad
- 52:40Speaker 1: they won because they were getting emotional. I was there
- 52:42Speaker 1: when they announced the winner and they were like crying.
- 52:44Speaker 1: And I almost cried too because they put their whole
- 52:47Speaker 1: life work in this.
- 52:48Speaker 9: It means so much.
- 52:49Speaker 7: Again, this can be life changing for some of these businesses.
- 52:52Speaker 7: to make it to the finals at the big tech
- 52:54Speaker 7: choice words but then to win it can be a
- 52:56Speaker 7: huge driver for their.
- 52:57Speaker 1: Business and I just so many good memories when it
- 52:59Speaker 1: comes to like Fletcher's corny dogs my son and I
- 53:01Speaker 1: go every year and ever since he was a kid
- 53:03Speaker 1: That was the thing.
- 53:04Speaker 6: You go, you get a Fletcher's.
- 53:05Speaker 1: The fair is so special when it comes to that.
- 53:09Speaker 5: Yeah, that moment of walking up to order it is
- 53:11Speaker 5: just like the best, most exciting moment of the year.
- 53:14Speaker 1: It really is.
- 53:14Speaker 7: And what I love, too, is they've actually really tried
- 53:17Speaker 7: to keep value as a part of their business.
- 53:19Speaker 9: That item's only seven coupons, y'all.
- 53:20Speaker 4: Wow.
- 53:21Speaker 6: I mean, that is good.
- 53:21Speaker 9: For a Big Tech Choice Awards finalist.
- 53:23Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 53:24Speaker 6: And Pooh was actually there that year in 1942. Oh, yeah.
- 53:28Speaker 1: Yeah, he was there.
- 53:29Speaker 5: Oh, poo.
- 53:30Speaker 1: He remembers the inaugural corny dog.
- 53:33Speaker 3: Yes.
- 53:33Speaker 6: So Fletcher's corny dog. All right, what next, Taylor?
- 53:36Speaker 9: Okay, let's go to a sipper.
- 53:37Speaker 1: Okay.
- 53:38Speaker 9: So let's do the tropical cocoa fresco.
- 53:41Speaker 1: Oh, my gosh. Yes. Now, this is from a local family.
- 53:45Speaker 2: Right?
- 53:45Speaker 9: So this is Frutaria Cano.
- 53:47Speaker 3: Oh, yes.
- 53:47Speaker 7: And they have also entered the Big Tech Choice Awards
- 53:50Speaker 7: chat for the first time.
- 53:51Speaker 9: And they won for Best Taste Sipper.
- 53:54Speaker 7: I think this is going to be one of the
- 53:55Speaker 7: most refreshing drinks out at the fair this year.
- 53:57Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
- 53:57Speaker 5: That's so good.
- 53:58Speaker 1: It is amazing.
- 53:59Speaker 6: It's like creamy, fruity.
- 54:02Speaker 1: The presentation's incredible.
- 54:04Speaker 9: And this is sample size, y'all.
- 54:05Speaker 1: And this is the real size.
- 54:06Speaker 5: This is the sample size?
- 54:07Speaker 1: Yes.
- 54:08Speaker 7: Yes.
- 54:08Speaker 5: How big is their actual size? It's bigger.
- 54:10Speaker 6: It's massive.
- 54:11Speaker 2: Yep.
- 54:11Speaker 6: And you got the- So it's definitely shareable.
- 54:13Speaker 1: Oh, you got the tajin, and it's so- Oh, is.
- 54:15Speaker 5: This a straw with the tajin?
- 54:16Speaker 3: Yes.
- 54:17Speaker 2: Yes.
- 54:18Speaker 7: Yeah, you've got all these different flavors. You've got coconut
- 54:21Speaker 7: snow in there, watermelon. They're known for their fresh fruits
- 54:23Speaker 7: out at the fair, and so- I'm just really excited
- 54:25Speaker 7: for this family and, again, what this is going to
- 54:27Speaker 7: do for their business. But they're amazing people, and this drink, man.
- 54:31Speaker 1: I'm not saying you would do this, and I don't
- 54:32Speaker 1: know if Big Tex would approve, but if you did
- 54:34Speaker 1: put a little Tito's in there, I'm just saying.
- 54:36Speaker 9: We don't make the rules.
- 54:37Speaker 6: Okay, thank you.
- 54:38Speaker 9: There are places at the fair.
- 54:40Speaker 6: That is so good.
- 54:41Speaker 1: Now what next, Taylor?
- 54:42Speaker 9: Okay, so let's do the Corn Flakes Chapé.
- 54:45Speaker 1: Oh, yes.
- 54:45Speaker 9: Yes, so this is this cute little milkshake. Again, this
- 54:48Speaker 9: is just a sample.
- 54:49Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, I got the sample over there.
- 54:51Speaker 7: They've taken basically your Corn Flakes cereal. and turned it
- 54:55Speaker 7: into this nostalgic treat from your childhood. It almost tastes
- 54:58Speaker 7: like the cereal milk.
- 55:00Speaker 1: Yeah, it does.
- 55:01Speaker 4: It does.
- 55:02Speaker 1: It's like a dessert, but it tastes like something you've
- 55:04Speaker 1: never had before, but it makes so much sense when
- 55:06Speaker 1: you try it. Try it, Candice. Mmm.
- 55:10Speaker 5: Mmm.
- 55:10Speaker 2: Ugh.
- 55:11Speaker 1: Yeah. Oh, wow.
- 55:13Speaker 5: Was that out loud?
- 55:13Speaker 1: Yeah, I know.
- 55:15Speaker 5: That's incredible.
- 55:16Speaker 6: Yeah, it's so good.
- 55:17Speaker 9: I think kids are going to love it. I mean,
- 55:19Speaker 9: I love it.
- 55:20Speaker 1: I don't know how you guys do it because every
- 55:21Speaker 1: year at the fair, I'm like, there's no way they're
- 55:22Speaker 1: going to top this. And then, of course, you guys
- 55:24Speaker 1: do it. I know it's a lot of work all year.
- 55:26Speaker 9: That's what I think, too.
- 55:27Speaker 7: I'm like, how are they going to come up with
- 55:28Speaker 7: something better? Our concessionaires are always looking at trends. They're
- 55:32Speaker 7: coming up with ideas, testing recipes. They're working on it
- 55:34Speaker 7: for the whole year, basically.
- 55:35Speaker 1: They really are.
- 55:36Speaker 5: Until the next fair.
- 55:37Speaker 6: They do such a good job, too.
- 55:38Speaker 1: Yeah. You guys are great. Okay, that's incredible. What now?
- 55:41Speaker 5: Okay.
- 55:42Speaker 9: How about the Golden Crunch Melt?
- 55:45Speaker 1: Golden Crunch Melt. Yes. Yeah, now describe that because this.
- 55:48Speaker 5: Was really good.
- 55:50Speaker 4: Okay.
- 55:50Speaker 1: Thank you. So this is.
- 55:52Speaker 5: Who?
- 55:52Speaker 7: You've basically got this taco wrapped up in a gold
- 55:56Speaker 7: shell that you can walk around with. And again, it's
- 55:59Speaker 7: kind of simple where it's just filled with all of
- 56:01Speaker 7: your kind of favorite fajita toppings and meat.
- 56:04Speaker 9: But the flavor.
- 56:06Speaker 1: Oh, Taylor.
- 56:08Speaker 5: I know.
- 56:08Speaker 1: It's got the perfect crunch on the outside.
- 56:11Speaker 9: And this is by Tony and Terry Bednar.
- 56:13Speaker 7: And they actually went through our Big Tex Masterclass program.
- 56:15Speaker 1: Oh, wow.
- 56:16Speaker 7: So another community initiative where we help. People who want
- 56:19Speaker 7: to be a vendor gain the skills they need to
- 56:21Speaker 7: be able to serve millions of fair goers.
- 56:22Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 56:23Speaker 6: See, now that's awesome. You almost develop these people.
- 56:25Speaker 1: I know.
- 56:25Speaker 9: And now they're a huge success out at the fair.
- 56:27Speaker 1: And this is awesome, too, because it's easy to carry.
- 56:29Speaker 2: Yes.
- 56:30Speaker 6: And you could have a drink, a sipper in one hand. Well,
- 56:32Speaker 6: at least you could.
- 56:32Speaker 5: Stuffed animal you want.
- 56:34Speaker 2: Right.
- 56:34Speaker 1: And then, yeah, you get your stuffed animal. You got
- 56:36Speaker 1: everything you need. And it's just ready to go. I
- 56:38Speaker 1: love it. That is really good. Really excellent. OK. What next, Taylor? OK.
- 56:42Speaker 9: So we've got we can either get messy with the
- 56:44Speaker 9: nacho wings.
- 56:45Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
- 56:46Speaker 6: The nacho wings?
- 56:47Speaker 5: I know.
- 56:48Speaker 6: That is going to be a big hit this year.
- 56:49Speaker 6: I think so, too.
- 56:50Speaker 1: Because why would you not want to try chicken wings
- 56:53Speaker 1: with nacho toppings?
- 56:55Speaker 7: And at the fair, they also come on a big
- 56:57Speaker 7: bed of crispy French fries. We didn't bring the fries
- 56:59Speaker 7: because we didn't want them to be soggy for real. But,
- 57:00Speaker 7: I mean, it has everything you love.
- 57:02Speaker 1: Yeah, that was really good. There's so much flavor in
- 57:05Speaker 1: all this stuff.
- 57:06Speaker 2: Yes.
- 57:06Speaker 1: And that's what it's going to be— And they're so big.
- 57:09Speaker 1: So people are like, well, I don't know if I
- 57:10Speaker 1: want to spend on the coupons. It's enough to feed
- 57:13Speaker 1: two people, three people.
- 57:14Speaker 7: Totally.
- 57:14Speaker 9: Come with your friends.
- 57:15Speaker 7: So you can share, just have a little bit of everything.
- 57:17Speaker 7: But that was by Cody and Lauren Hayes. And Cody
- 57:19Speaker 7: used to be a chef for the Ritz-Carlton.
- 57:21Speaker 9: That's right. Well, again, this might seem like a simple
- 57:24Speaker 9: treat you're getting out at the fair. The flavors are
- 57:27Speaker 9: so good. He knows what he's doing.
- 57:28Speaker 1: He does.
- 57:28Speaker 5: He was a chef.
- 57:29Speaker 6: Yeah, he really does. All right, we've got time for
- 57:31Speaker 6: a couple more.
- 57:32Speaker 1: Let's get to it because there's so much good stuff
- 57:34Speaker 1: this year. It's actually one of the craziest years I've
- 57:36Speaker 1: seen with the fair.
- 57:37Speaker 9: I want you all to try the Berry Me and Matcha.
- 57:41Speaker 1: Yes.
- 57:41Speaker 4: Yes.
- 57:43Speaker 1: Candice, I've been waiting for you to try this one.
- 57:44Speaker 9: This little guy?
- 57:45Speaker 7: That's a sample of it, and this is by Drizzle Cheesecakes.
- 57:48Speaker 7: He's done it again with another cheesecake, this one most creative.
- 57:52Speaker 7: But you've got your classic cheesecake, and then it's covered
- 57:55Speaker 7: in matcha, and you've.
- 57:57Speaker 9: Also got a berry drizzle on it.
- 57:58Speaker 5: Oh, is that what that is?
- 57:59Speaker 1: Let me see.
- 58:00Speaker 9: I think our matcha lovers are going to be obsessed.
- 58:02Speaker 1: Yes.
- 58:03Speaker 5: Oh, my God.
- 58:04Speaker 9: And I think if you've.
- 58:05Speaker 7: Never had matcha, you might be like, wait, maybe I
- 58:07Speaker 7: like it.
- 58:08Speaker 5: Right.
- 58:08Speaker 1: That's how I was because I've never really been a
- 58:10Speaker 1: big matcha person. But with all the other flavors.
- 58:12Speaker 9: On that, that's insane.
- 58:14Speaker 6: It really hits good. It really hits good.
- 58:17Speaker 5: If you don't like matcha, you'll like this.
- 58:19Speaker 1: That's what I think.
- 58:19Speaker 6: Do one more.
- 58:20Speaker 1: And then we're going to also still stay live on
- 58:22Speaker 1: Instagram at Mix 1029 FM.
- 58:24Speaker 6: Give us one more.
- 58:25Speaker 9: Okay, let's do this sunset soft serve Rita.
- 58:28Speaker 4: Oh, yes.
- 58:30Speaker 6: I could have had three of these.
- 58:32Speaker 7: So it's basically strawberry and mango margarita swirled together with
- 58:36Speaker 7: vanilla ice soft serve.
- 58:38Speaker 9: And then you've got tahini on the rim. You've got
- 58:39Speaker 9: some crunchies in there.
- 58:41Speaker 7: And it's just going to be so good.
- 58:43Speaker 1: Try that, Candice. Okay.
- 58:45Speaker 6: Every one I say, this is one of my favorites.
- 58:47Speaker 1: It really was.
- 58:48Speaker 9: We sound like a burger.
- 58:49Speaker 1: It's amazing.
- 58:50Speaker 9: It's so good.
- 58:50Speaker 5: But it really is.
- 58:51Speaker 6: It's so hard to try.
- 58:52Speaker 5: Oh, my God.
- 58:54Speaker 1: It's refreshing.
- 58:54Speaker 6: It's fruity.
- 58:55Speaker 5: But it's a little spicy.
- 58:56Speaker 3: Yes.
- 58:57Speaker 7: And then you've got a little salty with the chip crunchies.
- 59:00Speaker 6: It is so good.
- 59:01Speaker 7: So, Duana, this is her first time in the Big
- 59:03Speaker 7: Tech Choice Awards, too. And so you can find them
- 59:06Speaker 7: at Spicy Hut. over off Lone Star Boulevard, not far
- 59:09Speaker 7: from Big Tex. And they brought the pickle back to
- 59:12Speaker 7: the fair. So that's become really popular, too.
- 59:14Speaker 1: That's right.
- 59:15Speaker 5: You've got to get this one.
- 59:16Speaker 6: You've got to get it. There's so much to choose from.
- 59:18Speaker 1: Of course, you can go to BigTechs.com, get your tickets,
- 59:20Speaker 1: get the fair.
- 59:21Speaker 6: And this year, Taylor, I also.
- 59:22Speaker 1: Want to let you know that I'm doing the second
- 59:24Speaker 1: annual Corny Dog Walk.
- 59:26Speaker 5: I heard. Let's go.
- 59:28Speaker 1: Last year, I walked to the fair and I actually
- 59:30Speaker 1: made it, which I was proud of myself.
- 59:32Speaker 5: From here.
- 59:33Speaker 1: From here.
- 59:33Speaker 9: Thank goodness you're not down a leg this time.
- 59:35Speaker 1: Yeah, not down a leg. We're good. You can figure
- 59:37Speaker 1: it out. I don't need a hand.
- 59:38Speaker 6: Who's going to walk with me, he said this year.
- 59:40Speaker 1: I'm going. Last year, he made it. How many miles
- 59:42Speaker 1: did you make?
- 59:43Speaker 5: 8.7.
- 59:43Speaker 2: 8.7.
- 59:43Speaker 1: He made it 8.7. But along the way, we're giving
- 59:47Speaker 1: away tickets. So we're going to give away tickets to
- 59:48Speaker 1: the State Fair Texas gave us. You just got to
- 59:50Speaker 1: find me. We'll do that on the Friday. The fair
- 59:52Speaker 1: kicks off. It's becoming a tradition. I love it. I'm excited. Taylor,
- 59:56Speaker 1: thank you so much. Give it up for Taylor.
- 59:58Speaker 5: Thank you all.
- 59:59Speaker 1: Congrats on your baby. Yes, and congratulations.
- 1:00:02Speaker 9: 10 months old. He'll be out at the fair.
- 1:00:04Speaker 5: Last year this time.
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: Time flies.
- 1:00:05Speaker 6: He'll be working. No time.
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: No time.
- 1:00:08Speaker 6: And shout out to Big Tex. Next time you can
- 1:00:10Speaker 6: come too, Big Tex.
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: He's just big. It's hard to fit in here. I know,
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: I know. Okay, we again at Pooh and Big Tex.
- 1:00:17Speaker 3: It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
- 1:00:20Speaker 3: Kid in the Morning.
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: Only on the new Mix 102.9. Hi, Candace.
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: What's up?
- 1:00:25Speaker 5: Well, just a heads up. We will likely break another
- 1:00:27Speaker 5: heat record today if we get up to 101. I
- 1:00:30Speaker 5: was just looking at this psychiatrist that's going viral for
- 1:00:33Speaker 5: basically saying this is connected to your mental and physical health.
- 1:00:37Speaker 5: People in the Metroplex, you know, he limiting your energy
- 1:00:40Speaker 5: and increasing your stress makes people feel unhappy, irritable and impulsive,
- 1:00:44Speaker 5: which explains how people are driving. I feel like lately.
- 1:00:46Speaker 6: Yeah, we're all over the heat.
- 1:00:47Speaker 5: Yeah, we're over it, guys. Hopefully some relief coming Sunday
- 1:00:51Speaker 5: night into Monday. We'll keep you posted. And Cowboys icon
- 1:00:55Speaker 5: Jason Witten got passed by Travis Kelsey for the most
- 1:00:58Speaker 5: tight end receiving yards with the Chiefs win last night.
- 1:01:02Speaker 5: Jason Witten dropped to third now as Travis gets closer
- 1:01:05Speaker 5: to the top of that list. Jason Witten was one
- 1:01:07Speaker 5: of my all-time favorite Cowboys.
- 1:01:09Speaker 6: One of my favorite players ever.
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:01:11Speaker 5: Yeah, 100 percent. Guys, Taylor Swift was at the game
- 1:01:14Speaker 5: last night. She skipped the Emmys to be there. And
- 1:01:17Speaker 5: the cameras were loving the fact that she and Tom
- 1:01:19Speaker 5: Cruise were sitting next to each other for a lot
- 1:01:21Speaker 5: of the game. Her mom was there. Travis's mom was there.
- 1:01:24Speaker 5: But celebrating Travis on this accomplishment from last night.
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: I just always wonder what they were talking about, like
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: Tom Cruise and Taylor next to each other.
- 1:01:31Speaker 6: It's just a strange conversation.
- 1:01:33Speaker 5: Yeah, I tried to do the lip reading thing. I
- 1:01:35Speaker 5: couldn't make sense of it, so hopefully one of the
- 1:01:37Speaker 5: professionals does that later today.
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: Yeah, I hope so, too.
- 1:01:40Speaker 5: Guys, this was pretty cool to see. Speaking of artists,
- 1:01:43Speaker 5: Kelly Clarkson performing at Stagecoach next year. So she's on
- 1:01:47Speaker 5: the Sunday lineup. This happens April 25th, and she's going
- 1:01:50Speaker 5: on right before Garth Brooks, who headlines that night. Pre-sale
- 1:01:55Speaker 5: tickets are going to go on sale soon, but the
- 1:01:56Speaker 5: lineup looks really fun.
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: Good.
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: Yeah no it's huge.
- 1:01:59Speaker 5: Yeah definitely proud of kelly clarkson uh at stagecoach i'm
- 1:02:03Speaker 5: canis lopez those are your texas top stories it's.
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: Dirty little secret with billy the kid in the morning
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: on mix 102.9 brought.
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: To you by mint dentistry okay if you want to
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: confess anytime 833-787-1029 just bring us your secrets or you
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: can always hit me up on instagram it is at
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: billy on the radio At Billy on the Radio, you
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: have a confession.
- 1:02:24Speaker 5: Oh, man.
- 1:02:25Speaker 4: So this is probably going to sound harsh, but I
- 1:02:27Speaker 4: snitched on my own son.
- 1:02:30Speaker 6: Snitched on him?
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: To who? What happened?
- 1:02:32Speaker 4: So, okay, I hate tears. I don't care who you are, friend, family, stranger.
- 1:02:38Speaker 4: I mean, I apparently met you in my own child.
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:02:41Speaker 5: What does that mean?
- 1:02:42Speaker 6: Did he cheat?
- 1:02:43Speaker 4: Yeah, he just turned 16, and he's been dating his
- 1:02:46Speaker 4: girlfriend for like a year, and she's a really sweet girl.
- 1:02:49Speaker 4: I like her a lot, and as far as I knew,
- 1:02:52Speaker 4: they were doing great.
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: Oh, no.
- 1:02:54Speaker 4: So here's the thing. I still occasionally go through my
- 1:02:57Speaker 4: son's phone. Yes, I know he's 16. I know some
- 1:03:00Speaker 4: people are going to say I'm invading his privacy, but
- 1:03:03Speaker 4: I pay for the phone. So every once in a while,
- 1:03:06Speaker 4: mama is checking.
- 1:03:07Speaker 6: I don't blame you for that. I mean, if you're yeah,
- 1:03:09Speaker 6: he's still a kid.
- 1:03:10Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:03:10Speaker 5: I mean, you have every right to.
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: Better safe than sorry. So you go through his phone
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: and what do you find?
- 1:03:15Speaker 4: Well, a couple of weeks ago, I'm looking for it
- 1:03:18Speaker 4: and I find all these messages between him and another girl.
- 1:03:21Speaker 4: And at first, I'm thinking, right, maybe they're just friends, right? Hopefully? Nope.
- 1:03:28Speaker 4: Not a chance.
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: What?
- 1:03:30Speaker 4: And, yeah, I mean, nothing was super graphic or anything,
- 1:03:33Speaker 4: but it's very obvious that something had happened between them.
- 1:03:37Speaker 4: They were talking about kissing, when they could see each
- 1:03:40Speaker 4: other again, and even making sure, like, certain mutual friends
- 1:03:43Speaker 4: didn't find out.
- 1:03:44Speaker 5: Oh, man.
- 1:03:45Speaker 7: Oh.
- 1:03:46Speaker 5: No.
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: It's not good.
- 1:03:48Speaker 6: Okay.
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: So you see this.
- 1:03:50Speaker 4: I was livid.
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: You were mad.
- 1:03:52Speaker 5: Yeah, I would be too. So mad.
- 1:03:54Speaker 4: So mad.
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: So what do you do?
- 1:03:56Speaker 4: And, you know, well, first, I'm disappointed because I raised
- 1:03:59Speaker 4: him better than that. Second, whether he's my son or not,
- 1:04:01Speaker 4: I'm not letting some cheater run around thinking he can
- 1:04:04Speaker 4: have a girlfriend and a girl on the other side.
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: Wow.
- 1:04:06Speaker 4: So, yeah, I told his girlfriend.
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: You did? Oh, come on, Mom.
- 1:04:12Speaker 6: You told his girl. So you told his girlfriend.
- 1:04:15Speaker 5: Okay.
- 1:04:16Speaker 4: Technically, I didn't tell her. I made a fake Instagram
- 1:04:19Speaker 4: account and slid into her DMs.
- 1:04:23Speaker 5: Wow, so modern of you.
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: Okay, if you're going to do it, that's... That's the
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: way to do it. So she doesn't know it was you,
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: so you make an Instagram account and say what?
- 1:04:31Speaker 6: What do you say?
- 1:04:32Speaker 4: I was basically like, you don't know me, but you
- 1:04:34Speaker 4: might want to ask your boyfriend about this girl. And
- 1:04:37Speaker 4: then I gave her enough specific details that she knew
- 1:04:40Speaker 4: I wasn't just some random person trying to start drama.
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: Wow. You snitched on your own son... Wow. And said, hey,
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: he's cheating. I mean, I don't think you necessarily did
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: the wrong thing.
- 1:04:54Speaker 5: No, I don't hate this because it's got to stop
- 1:04:57Speaker 5: at some point.
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: So what happens then? Did she find out? Did she
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: get the message and freak out?
- 1:05:03Speaker 4: Yeah, she confronted him and broke up with him. And
- 1:05:05Speaker 4: he had no idea that it was me. And, you know,
- 1:05:10Speaker 4: for the past week and a half, my poor boy
- 1:05:13Speaker 4: walking around the house completely heartbroken.
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: Oh.
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: He's angry.
- 1:05:16Speaker 4: He's upset.
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: And it's your fault, Mom. No, it's his fault.
- 1:05:21Speaker 4: No, it's his fault.
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: He keeps saying he.
- 1:05:24Speaker 4: Doesn't understand what she found out.
- 1:05:26Speaker 5: He's not crying to the other girl now?
- 1:05:28Speaker 4: I mean, I don't think so. He really liked his girlfriend.
- 1:05:31Speaker 4: He loved her.
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: Do you regret doing this?
- 1:05:34Speaker 4: No, absolutely not. Do I feel guilty?
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: Yeah, maybe.
- 1:05:37Speaker 4: But I don't regret it.
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: You could have talked to him.
- 1:05:39Speaker 4: His dad is a cheater. Oh, and that's one of
- 1:05:43Speaker 4: the main reasons that we're not together anymore. So and
- 1:05:45Speaker 4: then he actually went to get went on and got
- 1:05:48Speaker 4: married again and cheated on that wife, too.
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: Oh, OK.
- 1:05:51Speaker 4: So I want to learn and experience the consequences. You know,
- 1:05:55Speaker 4: you cheat, you lie, you lose somebody you care about. Yeah,
- 1:05:57Speaker 4: that's it.
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: You're not wrong. I don't think so. You're saying, Pooh,
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: if you think it's wrong because she snitched on her. Yes.
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: So how would you have handled it? You find out
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: that your son is cheating on his girlfriend. Do you
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: do anything or do you're like, that's my boy? No,
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: I would have had to talk with him.
- 1:06:17Speaker 8: This brings back memories because back in my high school days,
- 1:06:21Speaker 8: I had about three or four girlfriends. And my mom
- 1:06:24Speaker 8: told me, cut it out. And I kept on doing it.
- 1:06:27Speaker 8: And then when Stephanie showed up, she called Stephanie Gloria.
- 1:06:30Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: Gloria showed up. She called Gloria.
- 1:06:33Speaker 6: My mom still does that.
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:06:35Speaker 8: So my mom did that. I was like, mom, why
- 1:06:37Speaker 8: are you doing me like that? She was like, no,
- 1:06:39Speaker 8: she was doing it on purpose.
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:06:41Speaker 8: She, she got on me. But, you know, I didn't
- 1:06:43Speaker 8: learn my lesson until years later.
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: But, yeah. So this brings back memories. Well, you're kind
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: of supporting the argument. I think that you've got to
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: teach your kids a lesson. I know. But, I mean,
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: at least talk to him first before you do that.
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: You didn't already went through his phone. It doesn't mean that,
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: first of all, they're 16. It's not like most of
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: the time these relationships don't last. Yeah, but that's that heartbreak.
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: That's probably that first.
- 1:07:05Speaker 5: Well, he brought it on himself.
- 1:07:06Speaker 3: Yeah, but he's.
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: Moping around the house. He's probably like, wah, wah. He
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: did it to himself.
- 1:07:11Speaker 7: Wow.
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: Sorry. You're right.
- 1:07:13Speaker 5: When I got cheated on and I knew the person's mom,
- 1:07:15Speaker 5: like not well, but well enough that I just thought, wow,
- 1:07:18Speaker 5: where'd she go wrong? It crossed my mind. Like, wow,
- 1:07:20Speaker 5: you let this person grow up and to be a,
- 1:07:23Speaker 5: an adult man who's going to lie and cheat like this. Wow.
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: Can you imagine if you were to find like, what
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: if she would have actually known if my, if that
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: person's mom knew and she just didn't say anything, right.
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: You would be like, wow. I mean, come on.
- 1:07:35Speaker 5: I mean, yeah, I'm done with all of you.
- 1:07:37Speaker 6: Moms are going to do whatever to protect their son.
- 1:07:39Speaker 6: I get it.
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: But at the same time, you also have to teach
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: them that this is not the way you treat people.
- 1:07:44Speaker 4: Right.
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: And you don't do that to not women. No, nobody.
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: You should definitely not cheat on your partner. I mean,
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: break up with the person if you don't want to
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: be with them and move on.
- 1:07:53Speaker 5: Exactly.
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: Especially at 16.
- 1:07:55Speaker 6: Who cares anyway?
- 1:07:56Speaker 4: Right.
- 1:07:56Speaker 5: What are you heartbroken about? You can't have your cake
- 1:07:58Speaker 5: and eat it, too.
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: And he's learning his lesson right now. I'm curious what
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: people think about this, and I'm going to see what
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: they have to call in because lines are already ringing. But, hey,
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: thank you so much, and let us know what happens. Yeah,
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: of course.
- 1:08:11Speaker 4: I will. Absolutely.
- 1:08:12Speaker 6: Good for you, Mom.
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: Turn them all in. Snitch on everyone.
- 1:08:15Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: We're about to get out of here. It's Mix 102.9.
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: Ability Kid, Candice Lopez, Producer Pooh, thank you for listening.
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: Thank you for hanging out with us. Don't forget the
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: jackpot for the gas. Free gas is up to $ 900 now.
- 1:08:28Speaker 3: Wow.
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: $ 900. So you've got to say Mix 102.9. Great Gremlin
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: gas gift card giveaway. Five times fast. You can't stumble.
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: You can't mess up. You can't pause. There's no timer,
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: but you got to run through it.
- 1:08:38Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: The judges are pretty tough. When the money gets this high,
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: it gets serious.
- 1:08:42Speaker 5: For sure.
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: So Zan's going to do it again at four o'clock.
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: Make sure you listen. Win there.
- 1:08:46Speaker 6: I just want you to win the money. I'd rather
- 1:08:49Speaker 6: win it with us.
- 1:08:49Speaker 5: I know. I know.
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: Good luck.
- 1:08:51Speaker 6: We love Zan, but she wants the same thing.
- 1:08:53Speaker 4: Right.
- 1:08:53Speaker 6: It's like a little competition here.
- 1:08:54Speaker 5: For sure.
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: So it's all good. But make sure you listen. Four o'clock,
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: your shot to win. Candace, what you got going on today?
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: What are you doing?
- 1:09:00Speaker 5: We got our last baseball practice tonight before our first
- 1:09:02Speaker 5: season opener, our game tomorrow. And Eric's decided he wants
- 1:09:05Speaker 5: to customize Enzo's cleats. So we got him the cleats
- 1:09:08Speaker 5: last night. They're white. So we're starting to get all
- 1:09:10Speaker 5: the paint. And then Eric's going to like make them,
- 1:09:13Speaker 5: you know, one of one.
- 1:09:14Speaker 6: That's cool.
- 1:09:15Speaker 5: Yeah, so that's happening tonight.
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: Oh, that'll be fun.
- 1:09:17Speaker 6: All right, good.
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: All right, Producer Pooh, what you doing? I'm headed to
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: pick your part in Grand Prairie.
- 1:09:23Speaker 5: What's that?
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: I got to go to the junkyard.
- 1:09:25Speaker 9: Oh, car parts.
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: I got to go find an O2 sensor. Oh, really? Yeah,
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: mine's still going out. You ever heard about AutoZone? Yeah.
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: Have you ever gotten in the zone?
- 1:09:35Speaker 5: Amazon?
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: Yeah, but you know how much it is? Amazon?
- 1:09:39Speaker 8: The part I have, I'm sorry, the part I need,
- 1:09:42Speaker 8: it costs about $ 300. And he said I can get
- 1:09:44Speaker 8: it at Pick Your Part for probably about $ 30 or $ 40.
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: Oh, that's nice. Your boy's trying to save. What's the matter?
- 1:09:48Speaker 6: You drive the mixed truck anyway.
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: Yeah, I know, but I need my car back up
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: and running.
- 1:09:53Speaker 6: That way I can text and drive.
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: Oh, here we go.
- 1:09:56Speaker 6: In peace.
- 1:09:57Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: I haven't been doing that.
- 1:09:59Speaker 5: Undercover.
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: Y'all got everybody out here. I swear, every time.
- 1:10:02Speaker 5: Good.
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: Like, I go to the gas station.
- 1:10:03Speaker 6: Safety first.
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: I'm like, do these people know me? And they're just staring.
- 1:10:06Speaker 5: Oh, they do.
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: And they're like.
- 1:10:08Speaker 3: Hey, boo.
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: No texting. They just drive off.
- 1:10:11Speaker 5: Thank you.
- 1:10:12Speaker 6: See, our OGs, our listeners.
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: Yeah, but I don't do that.
- 1:10:15Speaker 6: Well, listen.
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: I'm not a bad driver. We want to keep you safe.
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: More importantly, we want to keep everyone else safe. So
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: have fun at the junkyard. Maybe you'll meet your new
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: girlfriend there. At the junkyard.
- 1:10:26Speaker 5: What a love story that would be.
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: I know. We met at the junkyard. I was picking
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: an O2 sensor and I saw her and fell in love.
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: She was guarding the parts. I was looking at junk
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: and then I saw your junk in the trunk, girl.
- 1:10:36Speaker 6: Okay, that's enough. Have a good day.
- 1:10:38Speaker 5: Good Lord.
