- 0:11Speaker 2: Oh yeah, Jeff.
- 0:18Speaker 1: Clever of o'clock, I got one hundred and forty one
- 0:22Speaker 1: and two those chance winning, but brought up I am
- 0:26Speaker 1: bad and ain't know I'm bad.
- 0:27Speaker 3: I'm a bad.
- 0:28Speaker 2: OU's a having a dollar.
- 0:30Speaker 1: Just slip this out, Shelter Well cousin to the Grill
- 0:36Speaker 1: Out from the heart. That's Hilliam, West Virginia. Here's your host,
- 0:40Speaker 1: Hollywood Chef Peggy.
- 0:45Speaker 2: Welcome back, ladies, gentlemen, to the Grill Out, Episode seventy five,
- 0:50Speaker 2: Happy three sixteen days from our family to yours. And
- 0:55Speaker 2: since he wants to keep saying what, one of my
- 0:57Speaker 2: co hosts what Josh? Yeah, he's just single wording it
- 1:04Speaker 2: right now, he's just one word. Yeah.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Yeah. I like him better that way.
- 1:09Speaker 2: That's Jason Likings.
- 1:10Speaker 1: Yes, former the longest raining Yeah champion of all time
- 1:18Speaker 1: for the Grill Out predictions. Did I lose it this
- 1:21Speaker 1: last week?
- 1:22Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:23Speaker 1: I did? Yes, thank you, Josh. Did I do it
- 1:27Speaker 1: because I felt like the show was getting stagnant, that
- 1:31Speaker 1: we needed to change up and I don't care about
- 1:34Speaker 1: the rain. Josh, I'm waiting on you to answer it. Yeah,
- 1:40Speaker 1: that's right, I did. I did it for the people
- 1:46Speaker 1: I did it for the rock. No, I did it
- 1:51Speaker 1: for the people. I did it to make this show enjoyable. Okay,
- 1:56Speaker 1: that's why I'm here today, to make this show enjoyable.
- 2:02Speaker 2: Hello everybody, former grill Out Predictions champion speaking, Yes, I
- 2:09Speaker 2: am your new grill Out Predictions Champion by one point.
- 2:13Speaker 2: Thank you, John Moxley.
- 2:14Speaker 3: Yeah, Jason and I tied, so you won.
- 2:18Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it's true.
- 2:20Speaker 3: I told you I would cope at the end. Does
- 2:22Speaker 3: that give me a point?
- 2:25Speaker 2: Fair?
- 2:26Speaker 1: Fair? But yeah?
- 2:29Speaker 2: No? And and altogether how many how many days you
- 2:33Speaker 2: get because you were calculating it before we got here
- 2:35Speaker 2: the combined days he has through four reigns to sixteen.
- 2:40Speaker 3: Yes, that one was one hundred and six the longest. Again.
- 2:43Speaker 1: Yes.
- 2:44Speaker 2: He won the title at aw Full Gear and had
- 2:47Speaker 2: four defenses at WWE Survivors Series, War Games, AW World's Inn,
- 2:53Speaker 2: WW Royal Rumble, NWWE Elimination Chamber.
- 2:57Speaker 1: So you know, it doesn't matter how many times you win,
- 3:01Speaker 1: it matters on that one time you lose. And so
- 3:06Speaker 1: I admit I lost.
- 3:08Speaker 3: It's weird because the first one felt longer, even though
- 3:12Speaker 3: this one is longer. I don't know why.
- 3:15Speaker 1: I don't know. Maybe I think the first one I
- 3:18Speaker 1: had more.
- 3:19Speaker 3: Defeat did you had six?
- 3:21Speaker 1: Yeah? Yeah.
- 3:22Speaker 2: It also it honestly depends on the uh they the schedule. Yeah,
- 3:30Speaker 2: the schedule that you know we got because sometimes we'll
- 3:32Speaker 2: go a while without a prediction.
- 3:35Speaker 1: Yeah, like we did while Josh was champ. Yeah, I
- 3:37Speaker 1: didn't have that many.
- 3:39Speaker 2: Yeah, but then we got times where you know, we'll
- 3:41Speaker 2: have three events, two or three events back.
- 3:44Speaker 1: To back to back. Yeah.
- 3:46Speaker 2: So it's kind of like a gauntlet that you got
- 3:48Speaker 2: to go through.
- 3:48Speaker 1: So which was my first, well second ring, my first
- 3:53Speaker 1: longest rain.
- 3:54Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, it was like that.
- 3:56Speaker 2: It was like ninety days and you went through.
- 3:58Speaker 3: Yeah, you depends may need the money in the bank.
- 4:01Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah yeah. So speaking of AW Revolution, I'm
- 4:08Speaker 2: just gonna go ahead and get started on this. We'll
- 4:10Speaker 2: start from the bottom of the rundown and go up
- 4:12Speaker 2: start exactly a TOW International Championship Eliminator tournament they started
- 4:19Speaker 2: at this past week at Revolution, Kenny Omega defeated Kenoski
- 4:23Speaker 2: Takeshta to become the new AW International Champion. With that,
- 4:27Speaker 2: AW is having an International Championship Eliminator Eliminator tournament where
- 4:32Speaker 2: the winner will face Omega at AW Dynasty on April sixth,
- 4:37Speaker 2: Orange Cassidy Speedball, Mike Bailey, Ricochet and Mark Davis move
- 4:41Speaker 2: on and we'll face each other next week, well this
- 4:44Speaker 2: week actually on Dynamite.
- 4:45Speaker 1: When will they face each other.
- 4:47Speaker 2: This upcoming Wednesday? Yes. Side note, Kenny Omega was previous
- 4:51Speaker 2: previously regarded as aw's first recognized as aw's first triple
- 4:56Speaker 2: Crown champion for having held the World Championship, World Tag
- 4:59Speaker 2: Team Championship, and World Trios Championship, and now with the
- 5:03Speaker 2: International title, he is ae w's first Grand Slam champion.
- 5:08Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:09Speaker 2: So yeah, the winner of this will face like I said,
- 5:12Speaker 2: Kenny Omega at AW Dynasty on April sixth. There is
- 5:16Speaker 2: a lot of talk though about a about Kenney Omega,
- 5:23Speaker 2: Kazuchiao Kata facing each other, I believe at all in
- 5:27Speaker 2: I think that's what that's what the rumor is because
- 5:30Speaker 2: they want to combine the titles. Yeah, so that's that's
- 5:34Speaker 2: why that's just take that with the pinch of salt
- 5:36Speaker 2: at the moment. So yes, but that's that's kind of
- 5:39Speaker 2: what the rumor is going around, which I we've talked
- 5:42Speaker 2: about before on the show. They should combine the Continental
- 5:44Speaker 2: and the International title like salt. It's like that Boom
- 5:50Speaker 2: the guy that does the boomer stuff going on. I
- 5:52Speaker 2: don't And he's like, I think they need to combine him.
- 5:54Speaker 2: Just stop putting R O H titles on the show.
- 5:56Speaker 1: Yeah, no, they need to combine them. There's too there's
- 5:59Speaker 1: too many. If everybody has a title, a title means nothing.
- 6:03Speaker 2: Yes, I'm okay. With the tn T title and the
- 6:08Speaker 2: international title, it's like not even there. I know it's
- 6:12Speaker 2: but I exactly Daniel Garcia, but yeah, he was on
- 6:18Speaker 2: the pre show for this, so yeah, it kind of
- 6:22Speaker 2: shows you what they think of the TNT title at
- 6:24Speaker 2: the moment. But I don't know. I do think the
- 6:27Speaker 2: Continental title. I think it's useless. I don't think there's
- 6:30Speaker 2: anything of value with it. I mean, I'm kind of
- 6:33Speaker 2: glad it's on Okada's around his waist now because it's
- 6:37Speaker 2: a round a champions waist. But other than that, what
- 6:41Speaker 2: what purpose does it have? I don't think it has
- 6:43Speaker 2: any Two.
- 6:46Speaker 3: One of them is a tournament, the other one is
- 6:48Speaker 3: it's it's part of the American Triple Crown with the
- 6:50Speaker 3: RH title and New Japan Strong title.
- 6:53Speaker 2: You know what accent? Give it to something, give it
- 6:56Speaker 2: to another title that they got, so at least that's
- 7:00Speaker 2: I don't know that's the way out.
- 7:01Speaker 1: Look what title does? Can you have the International times, well,
- 7:04Speaker 1: then get rid of that.
- 7:05Speaker 3: One, that one has more history.
- 7:07Speaker 1: Well, Josh, what's going to make you happy, buddy anything?
- 7:12Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 7:13Speaker 2: We're wrestling fans. We're never happy.
- 7:15Speaker 1: I try to be happy, but get me depressed.
- 7:18Speaker 2: Listen.
- 7:19Speaker 3: I think the current titles are okay, just maybe feature
- 7:23Speaker 3: people who held them more and stop putting R H
- 7:26Speaker 3: titles in AW.
- 7:27Speaker 1: I mean, I definitely agree with you know, don't put
- 7:31Speaker 1: r O H titles on an AW show? Is there
- 7:34Speaker 1: still the triple team title?
- 7:38Speaker 2: The trios title?
- 7:39Speaker 3: It death writers, but they don't defend it.
- 7:45Speaker 1: If you have titles and you're not going to defend them,
- 7:49Speaker 1: make it a story, give a reason.
- 7:54Speaker 2: One of the quickest, one of the easiest stories you
- 7:58Speaker 2: could throw into that is you could say, well, they
- 8:00Speaker 2: haven't defended the title in thirty days, so we're going
- 8:04Speaker 2: to either strip you or you have to defend the
- 8:05Speaker 2: title tonight.
- 8:06Speaker 3: Yeah, or like the World Championship won the best titles
- 8:09Speaker 3: in the business, looking titles in the business. It's in
- 8:11Speaker 3: a briefcase, I haven't seen any months.
- 8:13Speaker 1: I don't think he has. I think I think it
- 8:16Speaker 1: was stolen outside of.
- 8:17Speaker 2: A stake, yeah, J first the inaugural A to Be
- 8:24Speaker 2: World Champion. Yeah, which speaking of that, uh, they did
- 8:29Speaker 2: main event A to Be Revolution and it was a
- 8:34Speaker 2: bit of a snoozefest with that. I thought, this is
- 8:38Speaker 2: just and I'll you know, you'll go ahead and put
- 8:40Speaker 2: your opinions in on this, but I'll just say mine.
- 8:42Speaker 2: I think that they had a chance. I don't think
- 8:46Speaker 2: it should have closed the show because I'm leading into
- 8:49Speaker 2: the next thing we'll talk about is Mariah May and
- 8:51Speaker 2: Tony Storm tearing basically the house down with their match.
- 8:54Speaker 2: That was the best story that A to B had
- 8:56Speaker 2: going into A to B Revolution. That is a world title. Yeah,
- 9:01Speaker 2: I mean, it's that's what I mean. It's it's up
- 9:02Speaker 2: there with what they've done. The women's title is a
- 9:06Speaker 2: world title. That is what it's considered. It is recognized
- 9:09Speaker 2: as that. So I don't see why that could not
- 9:13Speaker 2: have closed the show. With Cope and John Moxley and
- 9:19Speaker 2: then putting Christian Cage in there, it seemed like they
- 9:22Speaker 2: put Christian Cage in there because they forgot that he
- 9:25Speaker 2: had a contract to where he can challenge the title,
- 9:29Speaker 2: challenge the champion at any time. Maybe they should have
- 9:33Speaker 2: had Christian pull a an edge ultimate opportunist. Maybe, you know,
- 9:39Speaker 2: whoever wins to match, whether it's Cope or John Moxley, whichever,
- 9:42Speaker 2: have Christian come out, take you know, beat a wounded
- 9:48Speaker 2: person as it is, become world champion. Take that to dynasty,
- 9:53Speaker 2: drop the belt to swerve. At least that's what I
- 9:57Speaker 2: would have done.
- 9:58Speaker 1: I definitely think that, you know, with cashing in the contract,
- 10:04Speaker 1: Christian Cage should have won. That would have been a
- 10:07Speaker 1: more compelling story that at least would have brought some
- 10:10Speaker 1: excitement into it. Moxley is boring me. Yes, I'm completely
- 10:14Speaker 1: bored with it.
- 10:15Speaker 2: I'll say. At first I was like, I was okay
- 10:19Speaker 2: with the death Rider thing, Like I was like, okay,
- 10:20Speaker 2: this is a little different, you know, But then after
- 10:22Speaker 2: a while like, yeah, it's it's boring. Yeah, uh, I
- 10:26Speaker 2: don't mean like I don't, I don't, I don't, I
- 10:29Speaker 2: don't know, I don't know. But speaking of you know,
- 10:31Speaker 2: Maria May and Tony Storm Timeless Tony Tony Storm defended
- 10:35Speaker 2: her AW Women's World title against Maria May in the
- 10:38Speaker 2: conclusion of their prominent feud at Revolution. Their Hollywood ending
- 10:43Speaker 2: falls count Anywhere match was arguably the match of the night.
- 10:47Speaker 2: Most discourse online is that it should have been the
- 10:49Speaker 2: main event after the way the actual main event went.
- 10:52Speaker 2: It's absolutely agreeable. Nevertheless, these two proved why this story
- 10:56Speaker 2: has been the biggest story within a within aw The
- 10:59Speaker 2: ending of a match with the callback to the heel
- 11:01Speaker 2: the shoe to me, absolute cinema. She Pile drives her one, two, three,
- 11:07Speaker 2: and then up on the tron the end. That's to
- 11:10Speaker 2: me how the show should have ended right then and there. Yeah,
- 11:13Speaker 2: and if this tickles your fancy, Dave Meltzer also gave
- 11:17Speaker 2: it five stars, which is the first women's match he
- 11:20Speaker 2: gave five stars to outside of Japan.
- 11:23Speaker 1: Yeah, so just think what this could have had in the.
- 11:25Speaker 2: Tokyo fifteen Stars fifteen Yeah, there.
- 11:28Speaker 3: Were actually three five star matches on this card.
- 11:31Speaker 2: That's true, Uh, didn't it Kenney Omega, Knotski Takeshta and
- 11:35Speaker 2: Ousprey and Fletch Fletcher. Yeah, which those which those three
- 11:39Speaker 2: seemed like, yeah, they were they they were pretty much bangers.
- 11:44Speaker 2: I mean, for lack of a better term, Well, where.
- 11:46Speaker 1: Do you think they go with Tony Storm.
- 11:48Speaker 3: Now it looks like they're building well, yeah, they're building
- 11:51Speaker 3: match between her and Meghan Bain.
- 11:53Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, I mean Meghan Bain came out this past Wednesday,
- 11:59Speaker 2: seets actor. Yeah, and then but she's and it's it's
- 12:02Speaker 2: not just Tony. She's been attacked and she also attacked
- 12:04Speaker 2: Mercedes Monet and all of that. They're kind of, yeah,
- 12:07Speaker 2: they are kind of building her up to they.
- 12:09Speaker 3: Had a match, well, Megan had a magic and stuned
- 12:11Speaker 3: the Rose and collision, and then after the match, Tony
- 12:15Speaker 3: Storring come out and attacked her.
- 12:16Speaker 2: So see, so it seems like at the moment that
- 12:23Speaker 2: I don't see Tony dropping the belt anytime soon. I
- 12:26Speaker 2: just don't. But that's that's the the direction that they
- 12:30Speaker 2: seem like they have been taking. They're going to take her. Also,
- 12:33Speaker 2: Meghan Baine at one point because she was she did
- 12:37Speaker 2: wrestle for AW kind of want to con on a
- 12:40Speaker 2: date by date basis with it.
- 12:41Speaker 3: It was like I think during the pandemic era.
- 12:43Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, which speaking of pandemic era, we'll talk more
- 12:46Speaker 2: about that in the middle segment.
- 12:48Speaker 3: But I would say I didn't care for her that
- 12:50Speaker 3: first time she popped up. But she's really impressed me.
- 12:53Speaker 2: More now, yeah, she's sure. She has sort of taken
- 12:56Speaker 2: the Anna j response to it and went over to
- 13:01Speaker 2: I believe it was stardom, but it was it was
- 13:03Speaker 2: somewhere in Japan. I know that whenever there you know,
- 13:05Speaker 2: the age ol age old thing. You need to learn
- 13:07Speaker 2: how to work. Go to Japan.
- 13:09Speaker 1: Chucky ducky quick quack? What?
- 13:13Speaker 2: Also?
- 13:14Speaker 1: What I say you're drinking your little tea.
- 13:19Speaker 2: Is it's quite tasty?
- 13:22Speaker 1: What? Yes? What? Yes?
- 13:25Speaker 2: What?
- 13:25Speaker 1: Yes? What? Yes? What? What? What?
- 13:28Speaker 2: Yes?
- 13:28Speaker 1: What? Chucky ducky quick quick? Yeah? Okay?
- 13:34Speaker 3: Oh.
- 13:34Speaker 2: Speaking of Booker T though he really enjoyed the Stephanie
- 13:38Speaker 2: Vacker and he did. He was like all about that
- 13:42Speaker 2: that match and the n.
- 13:46Speaker 1: X T with the much that they also had a
- 13:49Speaker 1: Booker T chant going on.
- 13:52Speaker 2: I think so because like so, Stephanie Vacker's doing this
- 13:56Speaker 2: thing where she's taken She's got her legs around Julia
- 14:00Speaker 2: and she's slamming her head into the matt and that's
- 14:03Speaker 2: the best way I can describe it. And somebody's got
- 14:07Speaker 2: their phone out and they're filming it and then they
- 14:09Speaker 2: just pan it over to uh to Booker T. Booker
- 14:14Speaker 2: t like he is all in the like man, I
- 14:19Speaker 2: can't blame him, but no, no the uh uh but
- 14:23Speaker 2: yes so uh. Stephanie Backer did defeat Julia to become
- 14:28Speaker 2: the NXT Women's Champion. She is also the NXT Women's
- 14:32Speaker 2: North American Champion. Also on SmackDown this past Friday, the
- 14:36Speaker 2: Street Prophets defeated Hashtag Di i Wy to become the
- 14:39Speaker 2: new w W Tag Team champions. Also side note, it
- 14:43Speaker 2: looks like WW is about to debut Ray Phoenix and
- 14:46Speaker 2: have a returning Alistair Black a ka Malachai Black. Yeah,
- 14:52Speaker 2: he doesn't have a clause. Malachai Black, he was. Yeah,
- 14:57Speaker 2: his his contract expires a Russov whichever it may be
- 15:02Speaker 2: Russ Day again, yeah.
- 15:04Speaker 3: And the neighborhood and a four up. You know April
- 15:06Speaker 3: fourth is Rusive Day.
- 15:08Speaker 2: So it is April fifth.
- 15:10Speaker 1: And the sixth exactly.
- 15:12Speaker 2: Yeah, every day's Ruse of day. The man, they missed
- 15:16Speaker 2: an opportunity with that. But uh but yeah, so Alistair
- 15:21Speaker 2: Black contract inspired, doesn't you know, he doesn't have a
- 15:24Speaker 2: cause so he can pop up. And same for Ray Foennix.
- 15:27Speaker 2: They released him, so it's been it's only a matter
- 15:30Speaker 2: of time before it happens. Yeah, but yeah, so Stephanie Vacher,
- 15:35Speaker 2: like I said, both the women's North American champion and
- 15:38Speaker 2: the women's champion in NXT. The reason why for this
- 15:41Speaker 2: sudden change with Julia, because she did just win the
- 15:44Speaker 2: NXT Women's Championship, is because she's taken time off due
- 15:48Speaker 2: to an injury. From what I'm here, and I don't
- 15:49Speaker 2: know what the injury is, but.
- 15:51Speaker 3: It doesn't seem that serious because she worked pretty low
- 15:53Speaker 3: in that match.
- 15:54Speaker 2: So yeah, so it maybe just like something that she
- 15:57Speaker 2: has to take time off one. If not, it's going
- 15:59Speaker 2: to get worse. Like deal with it now and not
- 16:02Speaker 2: worry about it as much later on. And speaking of Chuckey.
- 16:07Speaker 1: Ducky quick quick, can't wait till Julia's back. Yeah.
- 16:12Speaker 2: Also, the time is now, the last time is now?
- 16:16Speaker 1: Or is it? The time is near?
- 16:19Speaker 3: The end is near.
- 16:21Speaker 2: Wha b doo whoooo. John Cena supposed to be on
- 16:27Speaker 2: Monday night. Were all either tomorrow, March seventeenth, or tonight
- 16:30Speaker 2: to been known when you're listening to this yesterday or yesterday.
- 16:33Speaker 2: If you're listening to this on Tuesday.
- 16:35Speaker 1: We're four years ago, to which to.
- 16:38Speaker 2: Which I really appreciate you going back to the catalog
- 16:41Speaker 2: of this entire show.
- 16:42Speaker 1: Yeah, to the last episode we're ever making.
- 16:48Speaker 2: Hello twenty twenty nine. Person that's listening to this that
- 16:52Speaker 2: was recorded in twenty twenty five future from the past.
- 16:55Speaker 1: Before it comes out. No, we did not do that
- 16:58Speaker 1: thing that you read about much later.
- 17:03Speaker 2: On March seventeen, John Cena will make his first w
- 17:06Speaker 2: W appearance since turning heel. It is been advertised that
- 17:09Speaker 2: he and Cody will be under the same roof in Belgium.
- 17:12Speaker 2: Judging by Cody's promo this past Monday, it will be
- 17:15Speaker 2: a heated exchange from both of them in the ring. Salt, Yes,
- 17:22Speaker 2: salt like salt.
- 17:24Speaker 3: If like the last episode of the year, John Cena
- 17:27Speaker 3: comes out in his salmon jacket.
- 17:31Speaker 2: Maybe he actually retires.
- 17:33Speaker 1: Wait what if it's Mark Henry salmon, Yeah, the salmon jesss.
- 17:38Speaker 2: You know, I would really I would be I would
- 17:43Speaker 2: want to see John Cena, like what it would look
- 17:45Speaker 2: like on him, because he's a rather sizable person. What
- 17:49Speaker 2: what Mark Henry's salmon jacket will look like on John
- 17:52Speaker 2: scene or just his jacket in general? I feel like
- 17:55Speaker 2: it would.
- 17:56Speaker 1: I don't think people realize, like how big Mark Henry.
- 17:59Speaker 1: Really he was, Yeah, because he has slimmed down a lot.
- 18:04Speaker 2: He has he has. Yeah, back in his powerlifting days,
- 18:06Speaker 2: he was he was a scary, scary man.
- 18:09Speaker 3: Yeah, we talk about video games. I always hated how
- 18:11Speaker 3: they put him in the video game. He looked way
- 18:13Speaker 3: smaller in the video game than he should.
- 18:14Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's true. Like he I don't yeah,
- 18:18Speaker 2: I don't think that they ever did him justice. I
- 18:20Speaker 2: think I think Mark Henry is another one of those
- 18:22Speaker 2: of those wrestlers that, like people started to appreciate after
- 18:27Speaker 2: they retired, Like they they started to have a lot
- 18:30Speaker 2: more appreciative appreciation for him. And I think he has a.
- 18:33Speaker 1: Something really scary, a little bit underrated Mark Henry with
- 18:36Speaker 1: his like Olympic powerlifting days. Yeah, so picture Mark Henry
- 18:41Speaker 1: when he first came into wrestling. He could dunk a basketball. What. Yeah,
- 18:48Speaker 1: he was in a dunk contest, a celebrity dunk contest.
- 18:52Speaker 1: It's on YouTube. You can look this up. He gets rim.
- 18:57Speaker 1: He's like a four hundred pound mane He's a four
- 19:03Speaker 1: hundred pound man powerlifter who could get rim on a
- 19:07Speaker 1: basketball goal.
- 19:08Speaker 2: Oh wow. Now, I'll say this one of the craziest
- 19:12Speaker 2: stories I ever did hear about Mark Henry was he
- 19:16Speaker 2: was doing a promo and this is like when he
- 19:17Speaker 2: first joined he first got with WWF at the time,
- 19:21Speaker 2: and they were they tried to pull a prank on
- 19:24Speaker 2: him because Vince was known for ribbon people, and they
- 19:28Speaker 2: were doing this promo where Mark Henry bends this skillet,
- 19:33Speaker 2: and the skillet, the original skillet was gimmicked. Okay, it
- 19:35Speaker 2: was supposed to be a lot easier to ben. They
- 19:38Speaker 2: switched it out with one that wasn't just to see
- 19:42Speaker 2: what he would do, and he bent it like it
- 19:44Speaker 2: was nothing. And then Vince looks at Mark Henry and
- 19:48Speaker 2: this is coming from Mark Henry's mouth. Vince, look, Savam says,
- 19:50Speaker 2: remind me to never make you mad. I don't. I
- 19:54Speaker 2: would not want a mad Mark Henry coming at me. No, Like,
- 19:59Speaker 2: if he's gonna do that with a starn skill, could
- 20:00Speaker 2: you imagine what.
- 20:01Speaker 1: You could do with Like was it a cast iron skill.
- 20:03Speaker 2: Or just just I think it was just a regular skillet.
- 20:05Speaker 1: But but I mean I've seen numerous strong men like
- 20:11Speaker 1: roll up skillets. Doesn't make it less impressive. I can't
- 20:14Speaker 1: do it, oh no, But.
- 20:16Speaker 2: Or you know, like the phone book thing and they
- 20:18Speaker 2: just destroy they rip it in half or whatever. But yeah,
- 20:23Speaker 2: like that's just terrifying. But nevertheless, John Cena will be
- 20:28Speaker 2: at uh Monday Night Roll at Monday Night Roll all.
- 20:34Speaker 3: Come out with his regular music.
- 20:37Speaker 2: I don't you know, I don't think I don't think
- 20:42Speaker 2: he should. No, No, I definitely think he should have
- 20:45Speaker 2: new music now is it the music that he had
- 20:49Speaker 2: in twenty thirteen. Now some people are been wanting him
- 20:55Speaker 2: to bring back Doctor of the Economics. I don't think he.
- 20:58Speaker 3: Should twenty thirteen twenty.
- 21:01Speaker 2: Okay, so I think it was with Chris van Vliet
- 21:03Speaker 2: he talked about in twenty thirteen that was when he
- 21:05Speaker 2: was originally supposed to turn heel something. Yeah, like I
- 21:08Speaker 2: think there was something that was wrote and recorded just
- 21:11Speaker 2: never released, So like does he bring that out? You know?
- 21:17Speaker 2: He also talked about how he He also talked about
- 21:22Speaker 2: how he was going to change his entire look around
- 21:26Speaker 2: and get rid of the jeworts and just wear like
- 21:28Speaker 2: an amateur wrestling singlet and not just like the kurd
- 21:31Speaker 2: angle singlet, like the kind that you would see in
- 21:33Speaker 2: like the Olympics, like the really thin in the middle
- 21:36Speaker 2: and in the back, which I think would look like
- 21:38Speaker 2: incredibly weird on him. I don't know if that would
- 21:41Speaker 2: be a good I.
- 21:43Speaker 3: Just go back to when he first came out in
- 21:45Speaker 3: just the little shorts.
- 21:47Speaker 2: That's true, that's true. I think honestly, if he does
- 21:51Speaker 2: come out, when he does come out, I think he
- 21:54Speaker 2: should have like a suit on. I think he should
- 21:57Speaker 2: be very corporatized. Like let's not go back to the
- 22:01Speaker 2: Doctor of theagonomics. That that's that's really old snayes and
- 22:04Speaker 2: that's kind of that's kind of cheap. Yeah, do something
- 22:08Speaker 2: very like Christ Jericho two thousand and eight esque, like
- 22:12Speaker 2: very just stoic, very corporatized, wears wears a suit like
- 22:19Speaker 2: no more. Yeah, like just full full that so lean
- 22:25Speaker 2: completely into the.
- 22:27Speaker 3: Corporate this fast and furious character.
- 22:31Speaker 2: I'm not sure.
- 22:34Speaker 1: He just be like that. I don't know.
- 22:35Speaker 2: Yeah, just yeah, just just be like that.
- 22:37Speaker 3: Just be like that the first time he played him,
- 22:39Speaker 3: not the second time. Second time he was a good guy.
- 22:41Speaker 2: So yeah, No, I haven't be honest with you. I
- 22:44Speaker 2: have not watched a Fast and Furious I haven't watched
- 22:47Speaker 2: any of them.
- 22:47Speaker 1: Number eight. Yeah, which one have they made more of
- 22:51Speaker 1: Fast and Furious or Laned before time?
- 22:56Speaker 3: I don't know what. There are a lot of Land
- 22:59Speaker 3: Before Time?
- 23:00Speaker 2: Yes? Is there? Yes?
- 23:02Speaker 3: I did not what. This is a wrestling show, just
- 23:07Speaker 3: and furious. There are ten main movies and then the
- 23:08Speaker 3: one side.
- 23:09Speaker 1: Movie with the rock so okay, okay.
- 23:13Speaker 3: And they're supposed to be the tenth movie, supposed to
- 23:15Speaker 3: be a trilogy.
- 23:16Speaker 1: So okay, Jeff, are you looking up? How many Lane
- 23:20Speaker 1: Before Time? God? How many? Hold on? Hold on? I'm
- 23:24Speaker 1: gonna say fifteen thirty two? H what's the number? Jeff?
- 23:31Speaker 1: Keep in mind, on this wrestling podcast, this wrestling radio show,
- 23:37Speaker 1: we are now going to find out the number of
- 23:40Speaker 1: Lane Before Time movies that have been made. This is
- 23:44Speaker 1: a cart and animated movie about dinosaurs. Now keep in mind.
- 23:50Speaker 3: Who's a source?
- 23:53Speaker 1: No, okay, Jeff, what is the number?
- 23:58Speaker 2: Okay, I'm gonna give you my number real quick, and
- 24:00Speaker 2: we gotta get to on this day in wrestling history.
- 24:02Speaker 2: Fourteen fourteen, thirteen of them are direct to video. That's
- 24:08Speaker 2: why I didn't know there was that many of them.
- 24:11Speaker 2: Oh my god, the latest one is twenty sixteen.
- 24:14Speaker 3: Huh.
- 24:15Speaker 1: Okay, we're doing another.
- 24:18Speaker 2: Yep, we are we are Land before Time? Do your thing?
- 24:22Speaker 2: Speaking of history, shift gears to on this Day and
- 24:26Speaker 2: wrestling History. March sixteenth, ninety four, Yes it is happy.
- 24:43Speaker 2: Three sixteen days in Munich, Germany. Mick Foley, wrestling as
- 24:49Speaker 2: Cactus Jack, famously lost his ear during the match with
- 24:52Speaker 2: Big Van Vader. That's the infamous match where he did
- 24:55Speaker 2: the hangman on the top rope between the top of
- 24:58Speaker 2: the middle rope. They tightened them up a little too
- 25:00Speaker 2: much and he got stuck and came out and popped his.
- 25:04Speaker 1: Ear off, where the refa famously put the year in
- 25:07Speaker 1: his pocket and then told Mick, I've got your ear
- 25:10Speaker 1: in my pocket.
- 25:13Speaker 2: Like he was mister potatohead or something. March sixteenth.
- 25:18Speaker 1: That was like a tot My god, no.
- 25:23Speaker 2: That would have been hilarious though. March sixteenth, nineteen ninety eight,
- 25:26Speaker 2: on WF Monday Night Raw, Triple H beat Owen Hart
- 25:30Speaker 2: for the WWF European Championship. Heart was already injured before
- 25:34Speaker 2: the match, and so when Triple H got him in
- 25:37Speaker 2: an ankle lock, the referee called for the bell and
- 25:40Speaker 2: awarded the win and the title the Triple H.
- 25:44Speaker 1: How about that?
- 25:45Speaker 2: And there you go? Last one March sixteenth, twenty nineteen,
- 25:49Speaker 2: over the Top Wrestlings Scrapper Many of five was held
- 25:54Speaker 2: in Dublin, Ireland. Pete Dunn and Mustache Mountain, Trent seven
- 25:59Speaker 2: and Tyler Bay beat the Kings of the North, Bone
- 26:02Speaker 2: Saw Damian Corvin and Duncan disorderly and a six man
- 26:07Speaker 2: OTT Tag Team Championship match over with Yeah Ireland. As
- 26:15Speaker 2: a result of the wind, Mustache Mountain Minus Done became
- 26:19Speaker 2: Tag Team Champions. In the main event, Jordan Devlin won
- 26:23Speaker 2: his birthday beat Walta known now as Gunter to become
- 26:27Speaker 2: the new Over the Top World Champion OTT World.
- 26:32Speaker 3: There's another on their stable. We'll save it for the
- 26:33Speaker 3: next segment because it ties into that.
- 26:35Speaker 2: Yes, And speaking of that, we're gonna go ahead and
- 26:38Speaker 2: take a quick break, and when we come back, we're
- 26:40Speaker 2: gonna talk about one of the more awkward times and
- 26:43Speaker 2: rest history.
- 26:53Speaker 1: It's time for the Word to grill out. Here it's
- 26:55Speaker 1: Hollywood Depth Pace.
- 26:58Speaker 2: Welcome back, ladies, gentlem to the grill Out. I'm your host, Hollywood,
- 27:01Speaker 2: Jeff Petty. I'm joined by my illustrious co host both
- 27:05Speaker 2: of them, Josh Cole. Yeah, and the Reflection of Perfection
- 27:11Speaker 2: Jason Likins. Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes yes.
- 27:18Speaker 1: So COVID nineteen was crazy huh, pandemic was wild.
- 27:24Speaker 2: I was trying to do a bit.
- 27:25Speaker 1: Oh sorry, yeah.
- 27:27Speaker 2: Yeah, there we go, all right a little bit.
- 27:31Speaker 1: Yep.
- 27:32Speaker 2: So today loosely marks five years since we were in
- 27:37Speaker 2: the pandemic era of professional wrestling, the pandemic in general,
- 27:42Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, yeah, I mean of life. Yeah yeah,
- 27:45Speaker 2: because I mean it didn't just affect wrestling, it affected everything. Yes,
- 27:48Speaker 2: I was even off the air. I was telling Jason
- 27:50Speaker 2: and Josh about my time working at another radio station
- 27:54Speaker 2: when this was going on, and that would say rather
- 27:58Speaker 2: unprecedented time. But if you're a long time listener of
- 28:02Speaker 2: this program, you know that we love to talk about
- 28:03Speaker 2: the history of professional wrestling. One of the craziest times
- 28:06Speaker 2: to live through, not only as a wrestling fan, but
- 28:08Speaker 2: as a person in general, was the COVID nineteen global pandemic.
- 28:13Speaker 2: The COVID nineteen pandemic did literally shut down almost everything.
- 28:16Speaker 2: March Madness was canceled on March twelfth, marking the first
- 28:20Speaker 2: time the tournament itself had ever been canceled. Also, we
- 28:24Speaker 2: were a couple of weeks from WrestleMania thirty six in
- 28:26Speaker 2: Tampa Bay. Once the world had shut down, most organizations
- 28:30Speaker 2: did stop operations momentarily, pro Wrestling kept going in certain aspects.
- 28:36Speaker 2: On April ninth, Florida's Division of Emergency Management added an
- 28:40Speaker 2: exemption to the state stay at home order for employees
- 28:44Speaker 2: of a quote professional sports and media production with a
- 28:47Speaker 2: national audience end quote if closed to the general public.
- 28:52Speaker 2: So if somebody was a professional sport organization and had
- 28:56Speaker 2: a product that went nationwide, they could do it, they
- 29:01Speaker 2: could film it and all that to distribute it, but
- 29:04Speaker 2: it had to be closed to the general public. AW
- 29:07Speaker 2: took full advantage of the same ruling, running shows from
- 29:10Speaker 2: Daily's Place in Jacksonville, Florida, while WWE We're in Orlando,
- 29:15Speaker 2: Florida at the Performance Center and then later the Thunderdome
- 29:21Speaker 2: from August twentieth to July twenty twenty one, which twenty
- 29:26Speaker 2: yeah August twenty twenty to July twenty twenty one, which
- 29:30Speaker 2: had three locations in Florida, the Amway Center in Orlando,
- 29:35Speaker 2: then Tropicicana Field and Saint Petersburg beginning in December, which
- 29:39Speaker 2: was coincidentally known as the Thunderdome from nineteen ninety three
- 29:43Speaker 2: to nineteen ninety six, and finally the Yngling Center in Tampa,
- 29:47Speaker 2: from April. NXT would move from full Sell University to
- 29:51Speaker 2: the Performance Center in October, adopting the Capitol Wrestling Center name,
- 29:55Speaker 2: which was their version of the Thunderdome. They no longer
- 29:59Speaker 2: used to see the you See name, but have made
- 30:01Speaker 2: the Performance Center their permanent home with the exception of
- 30:04Speaker 2: big special events events. March sixteenth, twenty twenty, the first
- 30:09Speaker 2: WWE raw of the pandemic era in the Performance Center
- 30:13Speaker 2: in WWE's second overall pandemic episode after the March thirteenth
- 30:17Speaker 2: episode of SmackDown.
- 30:19Speaker 3: Famously had Stone Cold on there in an empty arena,
- 30:22Speaker 3: kicking comfiren Sexton downlow.
- 30:24Speaker 2: You know that was that was the only only good
- 30:26Speaker 2: thing about that because it was so weird. Like you, So,
- 30:33Speaker 2: if you watch a Stone Cold promo, just any promo,
- 30:35Speaker 2: but especially stone Cold, he very much feeds off of
- 30:37Speaker 2: the crowd. He goes back and forth with the crowd.
- 30:39Speaker 2: I mean, that's why the WA champ became a thing.
- 30:42Speaker 2: So to sit there and watch him real quick, to
- 30:44Speaker 2: sit there and watch him cut a promo with nobody
- 30:48Speaker 2: there was a whole other level of awkward.
- 30:51Speaker 3: Yeah. I might be wrong, but wasn't that the first
- 30:54Speaker 3: time they officially recognized three sixteen Day.
- 30:57Speaker 2: I think yeah, I think it was because there were
- 31:02Speaker 2: promos leading up to this of them promoting three sixteen
- 31:05Speaker 2: Days like it was going to be a big thing
- 31:07Speaker 2: for them, and then the pandemic happened. Yeah, A to
- 31:12Speaker 2: B Dynamite. After that, that's when Cody comes out and
- 31:15Speaker 2: he gives the speech about basically how the show muscot
- 31:17Speaker 2: on and et cetera, et cetera, and again it was
- 31:20Speaker 2: the it was the weirdest time to be a professional
- 31:24Speaker 2: wrestling fan.
- 31:25Speaker 3: Yeah, it was interesting how production changed too, because WWE
- 31:28Speaker 3: kept the hardcam like they usually do. Then aw decided
- 31:31Speaker 3: to put the hardcam facing the Titan Tron and WWE
- 31:34Speaker 3: saw that and Dio debt too, which made the production
- 31:36Speaker 3: much better. Yeah, so you're not looking at empty arena.
- 31:39Speaker 2: Yeah. And also the Thunderdome was was a very interesting concept.
- 31:44Speaker 3: Yeah, it wants some innovative awards, innovation awards and innovation
- 31:47Speaker 3: I should.
- 31:48Speaker 2: Say, Oh, I mean absolutely. My brother was actually on
- 31:51Speaker 2: there one time. I think it was like on the
- 31:54Speaker 2: first SmackDown episode that had it so like it's funny
- 31:58Speaker 2: because you go back and you watch that episode, you
- 32:00Speaker 2: can see him like as the New Day is coming out.
- 32:04Speaker 2: You could see him with a New Day T shirt
- 32:06Speaker 2: on on one of the screens. So, but for a
- 32:11Speaker 2: entertainment medium that requires h crowd participation, this was this
- 32:19Speaker 2: was something very very different, very it was. It was
- 32:24Speaker 2: very hard to watch sometimes. No, well, yeah that was yeah,
- 32:30Speaker 2: that was the time of Kevin Dunne and his I'm sorry,
- 32:33Speaker 2: horrible production ideas that real quick. I know, I know
- 32:37Speaker 2: this has nothing to do with professional wrestling, but just
- 32:39Speaker 2: because we are on a radio show and a podcast
- 32:42Speaker 2: and you know, production and everything, the zoom in and
- 32:45Speaker 2: zoom out with every slam, every bump, I hated it. Yeah,
- 32:49Speaker 2: I I got to the point to where I just
- 32:51Speaker 2: turned off WWE simply because I just got tired of
- 32:54Speaker 2: seeing that.
- 32:55Speaker 3: I won't lie. I never really noticed it until like
- 32:58Speaker 3: people like Wrestle Talks started pointing out. But now when
- 33:01Speaker 3: I go back and see it, I see it much more.
- 33:03Speaker 2: Yeah, like it's it's it is. It's kind of one
- 33:06Speaker 2: of those things unless you have like a background sort
- 33:09Speaker 2: of in it, you're not going to pick up on it.
- 33:11Speaker 2: And it's also one of those things. Yeah, once somebody
- 33:13Speaker 2: points it out to you.
- 33:14Speaker 3: I guess I'm also kind of used to to fast
- 33:16Speaker 3: paced stuff from like video games and whatnot. So maybe
- 33:19Speaker 3: that's why I didn't quite notice it as much.
- 33:20Speaker 2: Yeah, I'll be honest, like I I didn't going back
- 33:24Speaker 2: and watching like twenty fifteen, twenty sixteen, I didn't notice
- 33:28Speaker 2: it as much. Did but maybe also he they started
- 33:31Speaker 2: utilizing it more yeah later on, which is just a
- 33:35Speaker 2: poor I don't know if that was Kevin Dunn's idea
- 33:37Speaker 2: or whose idea that was of just a poor.
- 33:39Speaker 3: Production because it doesn't happen anymore.
- 33:41Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, for good reason though, for very good reason.
- 33:47Speaker 2: That so the pandemic, Yeah, the pandemic. That was also
- 33:52Speaker 2: the first time that WrestleMania was on two nights. Originally
- 33:57Speaker 2: it was supposed to be one night. WrestleMania thirty six
- 33:59Speaker 2: was to take place from the h Raymond j Raid
- 34:04Speaker 2: Raymond j Stadium, Yeah yeah, Raymond James, Raymond James. Yeah, yeah,
- 34:10Speaker 2: where the Tampa Bay Buccaneers played.
- 34:12Speaker 3: They did put it wrestle thirty seven there.
- 34:14Speaker 2: But yes, yeah, Wresselmania thirty seven was there. That was
- 34:17Speaker 2: sort of.
- 34:17Speaker 3: Still under a pandemic, but they were limited.
- 34:20Speaker 2: Yeah, they u The crowd was was extremely limited at
- 34:24Speaker 2: at that point, they were still in the Thunderdome. But
- 34:26Speaker 2: that was sort of the first sign that Hay but yeah, yeah,
- 34:30Speaker 2: WrestleMania wasn't but WW in general was still in the Thunderdome,
- 34:36Speaker 2: and that was also the that was sort of like
- 34:40Speaker 2: the first sign of that we are going to go
- 34:42Speaker 2: back to somewhat normalcy. Yeah, was that Wrestlemanium. Yeah, I'm
- 34:47Speaker 2: glad that they decided to keep it in Tampa the
- 34:50Speaker 2: following year if you don't, like, I'm just sitting here
- 34:55Speaker 2: thinking like, well, I'm just sitting here thinking like a
- 34:58Speaker 2: like a kid twenty years from now is going through
- 35:00Speaker 2: like all the WrestleManias and then gets to WrestleMania thirty
- 35:02Speaker 2: six and thirty seven. I was like, why are they
- 35:03Speaker 2: the same thing? And it's like they look at the day,
- 35:07Speaker 2: so like, oh, that's why they're the same thing. That
- 35:10Speaker 2: was also the same year that New Japan Wrestle Kingdom
- 35:15Speaker 2: went to two nights. Now they don't, they don't really
- 35:18Speaker 2: do that anymore because it just they were at two
- 35:22Speaker 2: nights and then eventually they went to three nights, and
- 35:24Speaker 2: then they just went back to one because you.
- 35:25Speaker 3: Can kind of consider it two nights with Wrestle Kingdom
- 35:28Speaker 3: and then Wressell Dynasty.
- 35:29Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, but it's where it's I guess where it's
- 35:32Speaker 2: two different shows. It kind of like it's yeah, like
- 35:35Speaker 2: I guess there is two nights, but it's two different shows,
- 35:38Speaker 2: so it's like, ye, not that, but it's still Yeah,
- 35:40Speaker 2: it's weird. But the pandemic. Yeah, one thing that did
- 35:45Speaker 2: come out of it though, that was good. A lot
- 35:49Speaker 2: of stuff didn't, but one of the good things with
- 35:51Speaker 2: cinematic matches, Yeah, they were sort of the saving grace.
- 35:55Speaker 2: Yeah for wrestling.
- 35:56Speaker 1: Why would have taken more advantage of it?
- 35:59Speaker 2: Yeah, like instead of just well, take advantage of it,
- 36:04Speaker 2: how a few more, a few more okay, oh yeah,
- 36:08Speaker 2: a few more wouldn't have hurt. For some reason, I
- 36:11Speaker 2: started thinking it, like, well, yeah, they probably should have
- 36:12Speaker 2: used it a lot more, but then like then you
- 36:14Speaker 2: run the risk of watering it down, but don't do
- 36:17Speaker 2: it that much. Yeah, they should have. I agree with that. Yeah,
- 36:20Speaker 2: they should have.
- 36:21Speaker 3: From like WrestleMania until they went to the Thinderdom, they
- 36:24Speaker 3: had like I think one cinematic match every pay per
- 36:26Speaker 3: view for WW I mean, and then when they went
- 36:29Speaker 3: to the thunder Doom, they just stopped doing because they
- 36:30Speaker 3: were able to do it live. Other than the Inferno
- 36:33Speaker 3: Matchress had.
- 36:34Speaker 2: A little bit of it there, but yeah, there was
- 36:36Speaker 2: some production type stuff putting into that, because you know,
- 36:39Speaker 2: you can't really that somebody on fire.
- 36:42Speaker 1: But look, I think I almost would have enjoyed a
- 36:45Speaker 1: like wrestler point of view.
- 36:47Speaker 2: Ah, never even thought about it because they have the
- 36:51Speaker 2: Every once in a while you'll see them have like
- 36:53Speaker 2: the referee cam. Yeah, so yeah, no, I I kind
- 36:56Speaker 2: of understand that, Like why I thought.
- 36:57Speaker 3: They were supposed to do that with the Randy Orton
- 37:00Speaker 3: Edge match, but I guess they didn't end up doing that.
- 37:02Speaker 4: I the greatest Yeah, oh that was that was hard
- 37:08Speaker 4: to watch now, I like, did you see what Edge
- 37:11Speaker 4: said about that later or cope whatever you want to.
- 37:13Speaker 2: Call what what it is?
- 37:14Speaker 3: Basically like they were putting in a corner with that.
- 37:17Speaker 3: So he's like, well, instead of trying to make the
- 37:19Speaker 3: greatest wrestling match ever, we're gonna make this a love
- 37:22Speaker 3: story to wrestling.
- 37:23Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, I did see that they.
- 37:26Speaker 3: Did a bunch of different callbacks of different things in
- 37:29Speaker 3: that match.
- 37:29Speaker 2: Yeah, I I think the building of the greatest wrestling
- 37:33Speaker 2: match ever was very over the top and really and
- 37:37Speaker 2: truly it was setting setting setting them up for failure,
- 37:41Speaker 2: like you're setting this giant standard up that you know,
- 37:44Speaker 2: we want you to go out and you're gonna have
- 37:45Speaker 2: the greatest match of all time compared to all these
- 37:48Speaker 2: like it just no.
- 37:49Speaker 3: I will say it was a very good match.
- 37:51Speaker 1: It was.
- 37:52Speaker 2: It was, but the greatest match of all time.
- 37:54Speaker 3: I just felt they shouldn't have a tackle.
- 37:56Speaker 2: Yeah no, no, that should that should not have should
- 37:59Speaker 2: not have been the hag on on that. But the
- 38:02Speaker 2: Firefly Funhouse match probably one of the best cinematic matches. Yeah,
- 38:09Speaker 2: probably one of the best cinematic matches that they that
- 38:12Speaker 2: went on during this era. There's the Boneyard match, yoh,
- 38:17Speaker 2: which is crazy because that's Takers considered what his last match.
- 38:22Speaker 2: His last match was a cinematic.
- 38:23Speaker 3: Match against a j Styles.
- 38:25Speaker 2: They made him look like a million bucks. I mean
- 38:28Speaker 2: they they truly did. But but we found out very
- 38:33Speaker 2: quickly in which you know, people in the industry knew this,
- 38:37Speaker 2: but like fans figured out very quickly that again, it's
- 38:41Speaker 2: hard to have a wrestling match when you don't have
- 38:43Speaker 2: nobody there, Yeah, especially when you start hearing them calling
- 38:47Speaker 2: out spots. Yeah, and it's like, I don't think I'm
- 38:51Speaker 2: supposed to hear that.
- 38:52Speaker 3: Or if you weren't in America and you saw during
- 38:55Speaker 3: the commercial break and they just stood there that.
- 38:59Speaker 2: Yeah, they later fixed that, but yeah, like I mean,
- 39:03Speaker 2: what are you supposed to do? Yeah, yeah, nobody's there,
- 39:05Speaker 2: you're in commercial.
- 39:06Speaker 3: But I complained about that. It's like, I mean, it's TV.
- 39:08Speaker 3: What was she supposed to do?
- 39:10Speaker 2: Yeah, Like, I don't know, but I'll say this, people
- 39:13Speaker 2: complain sometimes for the second complaining. Yeah, I mean, there's
- 39:16Speaker 2: just that. But there was And another interesting thing, and
- 39:20Speaker 2: this is on the aw side of things. I remember
- 39:24Speaker 2: MJF talking because where they did all of that stuff,
- 39:26Speaker 2: all their stuff at Daily's place. It was also around
- 39:28Speaker 2: the time later that year was when Sting debuted for AW.
- 39:33Speaker 3: I'll have a comment on that regarding cinematic matches.
- 39:36Speaker 2: Okay, we'll get to that here in a second. But
- 39:40Speaker 2: MJF made the comment that where they were in Jacksonville
- 39:43Speaker 2: for so long, they had their like own many territory there. Yeah,
- 39:47Speaker 2: because like they just had the same people coming back
- 39:50Speaker 2: every week to watch the show when they were able
- 39:52Speaker 2: to let fans in. So I can see the point
- 39:57Speaker 2: that he's making and Jacksonville has sort of turned into
- 40:00Speaker 2: the I mean it basically is the home for AW.
- 40:03Speaker 3: Oh it is, I mean that's officially their headquarters. Yeah,
- 40:06Speaker 3: the complex there exactly.
- 40:08Speaker 2: But what were you going to say about.
- 40:10Speaker 3: Like cinematic matches. I think they're His cinematic match with
- 40:14Speaker 3: Darby Allen and Team TAZ might be the best cinematic
- 40:18Speaker 3: match that's been done during the pandemic era.
- 40:20Speaker 2: True, true, up up there with the Firefly fim House match.
- 40:24Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 40:24Speaker 3: But well, the thing about that when it was like
- 40:26Speaker 3: they actually basically had a match, like there wasn't none
- 40:29Speaker 3: of this weird whatever stuff going on.
- 40:31Speaker 2: Yeah, and also that was because of Sting's injuries and
- 40:39Speaker 2: his age at that point, that was probably the best
- 40:42Speaker 2: way to bring him into the fold with AW and
- 40:47Speaker 2: such and kind of kick the cane down the road. Hey,
- 40:50Speaker 2: we'll deal with, you know, the matches later on when
- 40:52Speaker 2: we have fans and have to do them in person.
- 40:54Speaker 2: But hey, let's take advantage of this cinematic stuff right now.
- 41:00Speaker 2: And I think maybe correct me if I'm wrong. A
- 41:02Speaker 2: couple of years before this, before the pandemic happened, was
- 41:05Speaker 2: when the ultimate Deletion happened yep.
- 41:08Speaker 3: So yeah, I mean there's been a couple of cinematic
- 41:13Speaker 3: esque matches before, but it was really at heart ease
- 41:17Speaker 3: with that whole uh whatever you call ultimate x no,
- 41:21Speaker 3: ultimate deletion matches whatever. Yeah, that they did that really
- 41:24Speaker 3: brought that up, Yeah, which was influenced to a way.
- 41:27Speaker 2: It really, it really did, because I remember when that
- 41:30Speaker 2: match first came out, the cinematic match in Impact. At
- 41:34Speaker 2: the time, it wasn't DNA. There was a lot of
- 41:37Speaker 2: people that from what I remember, they were kind of
- 41:40Speaker 2: on the fence about it. They're like, I don't know,
- 41:42Speaker 2: it's kind of kind of hokey. It's kind of corny
- 41:45Speaker 2: and whatnot. Pandemic happens, everybody's got to stay home. Yeah,
- 41:51Speaker 2: Then we start seeing cinematic matches and start to realize, oh,
- 41:55Speaker 2: there is a utilization. Now, should in this day and age,
- 42:00Speaker 2: should we have more cinematic matches? Should we have at
- 42:04Speaker 2: least one or two more in the fold? Maybe not,
- 42:09Speaker 2: not not all the time, but like every once in.
- 42:11Speaker 3: A while, have one once in a while if it
- 42:13Speaker 3: calls for it.
- 42:14Speaker 2: Yeah, if the story calls for it.
- 42:18Speaker 1: But yeah, yeah, I mean it's like having hell in
- 42:20Speaker 1: a cell. Yeah, you know, have it when it means something.
- 42:25Speaker 2: Not because you're having a pay per view.
- 42:26Speaker 1: Yeah, don't name like WWE cinematic pay per view or
- 42:31Speaker 1: cinematic premium live event. Yeah, use it very sparingly because
- 42:37Speaker 1: then less is more.
- 42:39Speaker 2: Yes, No, that's that's one.
- 42:43Speaker 1: Have it to bring back Malachi Black.
- 42:46Speaker 2: Yeah, that I you know, I think that would be
- 42:53Speaker 2: that would be a smart way to bring him in
- 42:55Speaker 2: because his character in general kind of leans in that
- 43:00Speaker 2: kind of stuff. Ye, that dark, spooky type of stuff.
- 43:04Speaker 3: Speaking of him, like when he was last in WWE,
- 43:07Speaker 3: he was coming back during the pandemic area, had this
- 43:09Speaker 3: whole dark father story going. I looked really interesting, and
- 43:13Speaker 3: then he got cut right in the middle of it.
- 43:15Speaker 2: Yeah, and that was a that was a Vince thing, Yeah,
- 43:20Speaker 2: because I think Vince was still in charge of the time, right,
- 43:22Speaker 2: you know.
- 43:23Speaker 3: And the cool vignettes for it was like they were
- 43:25Speaker 3: like really like animated and really cool looking.
- 43:28Speaker 2: Yeah, it's really interesting.
- 43:30Speaker 1: I maybe would have had the Wyatt Six's first match
- 43:33Speaker 1: as a cinematic match.
- 43:36Speaker 3: Yeah, maybe have.
- 43:39Speaker 2: It to where Alistair Black. Now I'm assuming he's coming
- 43:44Speaker 2: back as Alistair probably, Yeah, Like that's the only way
- 43:47Speaker 2: I could think of that do you have him come
- 43:51Speaker 2: back and have a feud with the Wyatt Six to
- 43:54Speaker 2: where he wants to have control of them, because I mean,
- 43:59Speaker 2: you're not doing they're not really anything with the White
- 44:00Speaker 2: Six in general.
- 44:01Speaker 3: Well, from my understanding, uh bo or Uncle Howdie, he's
- 44:04Speaker 3: been injured at the moment, but they're supposed to be
- 44:06Speaker 3: coming back sooner, Lexi Bli's supposed to have a story
- 44:08Speaker 3: with them going to WrestleMania, so h okay, Well, but.
- 44:10Speaker 1: That doesn't mean you still couldn't do vignettes with them.
- 44:13Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, you know it.
- 44:16Speaker 1: Some screen time is better than no.
- 44:18Speaker 2: Screen time exactly. And also have him try to influence
- 44:23Speaker 2: them to come to his side versus staying where they're at.
- 44:27Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 44:27Speaker 2: I'm just spitballing right now. Now. One I'll say this
- 44:32Speaker 2: and this and another thing that popped in my head
- 44:33Speaker 2: because you mentioned releases. I know that WWE released people,
- 44:38Speaker 2: but I this was the first time I remember them
- 44:42Speaker 2: doing like mass releases all at once. Budget cuts, Yeah,
- 44:46Speaker 2: budget cuts and all of that. I remember when it
- 44:49Speaker 2: when they first announced it because I was watched profits. Yeah, yeah,
- 44:53Speaker 2: we're going to We're going to budget cuts, but record
- 44:55Speaker 2: breaking profits story for another day. But I remember when
- 45:01Speaker 2: it when they first, like the first big round of
- 45:04Speaker 2: cuts came because I was watching it was Cultaholic and
- 45:08Speaker 2: it was a live stream with Adam Pacheti and it
- 45:12Speaker 2: was just one after another and he was like trying
- 45:16Speaker 2: his best to keep up with it all. And I
- 45:19Speaker 2: can't remember. I don't know the exact number of everybody
- 45:22Speaker 2: that was released at first, but it was. I mean,
- 45:25Speaker 2: I know that it was. It was quite a bit,
- 45:29Speaker 2: but that's the first time. Like I said, I remember,
- 45:31Speaker 2: wwe actively like mass releasing people all at once.
- 45:36Speaker 3: I will say, I mean, it sucked that they got released.
- 45:39Speaker 3: But the Good Brothers. One of the most amazing things
- 45:41Speaker 3: that came out of the pandemic era because of their
- 45:43Speaker 3: release was the Talking Trump Amanian shows that you still
- 45:46Speaker 3: need to watch.
- 45:47Speaker 1: Still need to.
- 45:48Speaker 2: Watch those, Yes, I would, I very much want to watch.
- 45:51Speaker 3: Theo were the best Pandemic era shows ever. They're really
- 45:56Speaker 3: good third straight comedy stuff.
- 45:58Speaker 2: But I think I think that's some of their best
- 46:01Speaker 2: stuff is when they just lean into the into the ridiculousness, take.
- 46:05Speaker 3: The South Paul stuff and put that into a current. Okay,
- 46:11Speaker 3: I mean like that kind of slapstick comedy and whatnot.
- 46:17Speaker 2: I know we've said it before on the show.
- 46:19Speaker 3: If you've never watched Social Distancing Battle Royal.
- 46:25Speaker 2: It's Stang. Well who was it?
- 46:29Speaker 1: Was it Heath?
- 46:29Speaker 3: That was during the Social Distance Battle Royal. All of
- 46:33Speaker 3: a sudden he pops out of the woods, points to
- 46:35Speaker 3: bat during it. Oh my god, that Stang. He just
- 46:40Speaker 3: goes away.
- 46:42Speaker 1: Wait, so that's it. He just goes away.
- 46:44Speaker 2: He just yeah, that's it.
- 46:46Speaker 1: Okay.
- 46:46Speaker 2: He literally showed up for that one spot somewhere else.
- 46:52Speaker 1: I mean, it's not what he was doing anything else at.
- 46:54Speaker 2: That time, that's true. He got kids, though.
- 46:57Speaker 1: Hey can you stand in the woods and point dressed
- 47:01Speaker 1: up like sting?
- 47:02Speaker 2: Yeah, man, I can do that.
- 47:06Speaker 1: You won't pay me, I will give you a cheeseburger.
- 47:09Speaker 1: Yeah man, I'll do that.
- 47:11Speaker 2: Gonna Handscheck And they had their own version of a
- 47:13Speaker 2: boneyard match.
- 47:14Speaker 3: I don't know if I can.
- 47:14Speaker 2: Say yeah, no, no, we can't say that. No, no, uh,
- 47:18Speaker 2: talker shop.
- 47:20Speaker 3: What is gott Steyner's in the second one?
- 47:22Speaker 1: Oh okay, Oh I gotta watch these, Yeah, we do,
- 47:28Speaker 1: we do.
- 47:28Speaker 3: We will say the first one's better than the second one.
- 47:30Speaker 1: But just like lame before times, why is there fourteen
- 47:37Speaker 1: land Before Times.
- 47:40Speaker 2: And in a twenty six episode season, why lord, I
- 47:45Speaker 2: don't know the things you learned.
- 47:47Speaker 1: They made too many lamb before times. Yep, yep, yep,
- 47:52Speaker 1: we'll see.
- 47:53Speaker 3: One of the good things to come out of the
- 47:54Speaker 3: pandemic era is promos with like Roman reigns, for example, Oh.
- 47:59Speaker 2: God, yeah, because the Thunderdome, that Royal Rumble, that's where
- 48:04Speaker 2: the hill turn started. Like, do you what was it?
- 48:10Speaker 1: Was?
- 48:10Speaker 2: The Royal Rumble, wasn't it When he came out and
- 48:12Speaker 2: he turned SummerSlam SummerSlam?
- 48:15Speaker 3: Well he he came back at SummerSlam. We didn't quite
- 48:18Speaker 3: know what was going on. And then on SmackDown is
- 48:20Speaker 3: when we saw him and Hayman together and that's.
- 48:23Speaker 1: Yeah, that's not a spoiler promise.
- 48:27Speaker 3: You'll never see what comes. What was the tagline? You
- 48:30Speaker 3: won't see it coming. That's what it was.
- 48:32Speaker 2: I mean, it's it's true.
- 48:36Speaker 3: And one week later he wins the universal title and
- 48:38Speaker 3: begins a long green.
- 48:40Speaker 2: That's true, that's true up until last Yeah, it's true.
- 48:45Speaker 1: It's dagone true.
- 48:47Speaker 2: Dag True also had the Drew mcintar WB title ring
- 48:51Speaker 2: that was uh he But we also saw the last
- 48:55Speaker 2: main event for the wrestle for WrestleMania, for the big Show,
- 49:00Speaker 2: A big show.
- 49:02Speaker 3: I know it was a dark match.
- 49:04Speaker 2: I'm saying a joke. Big show, did you know?
- 49:09Speaker 1: Did you know in that match he turned facing heel
- 49:13Speaker 1: more times than there are land before times stop. He
- 49:18Speaker 1: hit him fifteen times. Horn crazy, It's crazy.
- 49:22Speaker 2: All right, We're gonna shift gears real quick to the
- 49:25Speaker 2: main event.
- 49:28Speaker 1: It looks like all the talk has been done. It's
- 49:31Speaker 1: time for the main event.
