- 0:08Speaker 1: Everybody. You're very welcome into the Irish Citer podcast presented
- 0:11Speaker 1: by Eron Lingus Michael McCready here as we have a
- 0:14Speaker 1: novel week of NFL football coming up this week. Can
- 0:18Speaker 1: you believe we're already really past the halfway stage of
- 0:21Speaker 1: the NFL regular season and the weeks keep flowing in
- 0:25Speaker 1: and as the the leaves get darker and darker and
- 0:28Speaker 1: start to fall off the trees, and these autumnal winter months,
- 0:31Speaker 1: it really is football time for so many of us,
- 0:33Speaker 1: and we're so excited to really look ahead to one
- 0:36Speaker 1: of the best parts of the season, the best football
- 0:38Speaker 1: parts of the season, a part of the season where
- 0:41Speaker 1: us as fans can just be excited to see any game,
- 0:44Speaker 1: but more so the game that we're going to talk to,
- 0:47Speaker 1: the game that we're going to talk about today, obviously
- 0:49Speaker 1: coming up between the Steelers hosting the Colts on Sunday
- 0:53Speaker 1: for us, For us, it's Sunday night football because in
- 0:55Speaker 1: the evening time for the Americans listening, and you're very welcome,
- 0:58Speaker 1: of course, it's not Sunday night football. It is in
- 1:00Speaker 1: the early window. I am absolutely delighted as always to
- 1:03Speaker 1: be joined by a co hosting this podcast and none
- 1:05Speaker 1: of her this week, Dan, davalg McKee and Davog. You're
- 1:08Speaker 1: very very welcome to the podcast. How are you doing.
- 1:12Speaker 2: Yeah, not too bad, Michael. Let's not been around the
- 1:15Speaker 2: bus for too long. Been a very disappointing two weeks.
- 1:18Speaker 2: If you're a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, it makes
- 1:20Speaker 2: me wonder if we should have just played all our
- 1:22Speaker 2: games in Dublin. But in all seriousness, you know, these
- 1:26Speaker 2: next few weeks are a pivotal part of our season
- 1:28Speaker 2: and they looking forward to breaking it down with you, Dogg.
- 1:31Speaker 1: It wasn't like, you know, let's not cut around this.
- 1:34Speaker 1: It was not an easy result last week. I obviously
- 1:36Speaker 1: was at the game, the Steelers against the Packers, and
- 1:39Speaker 1: I will say one thing. For a start, the atmosphere
- 1:43Speaker 1: on both sides in terms of fandom was electric. It
- 1:47Speaker 1: was box office Sunday night football. Not just all of
- 1:50Speaker 1: America watching, but I felt like the whole world was watching.
- 1:52Speaker 1: It was that fun and crazy before kickoff. Sailors captain
- 1:55Speaker 1: in tight, especially with Chris Boswell throughout the first three quarters,
- 1:59Speaker 1: but towards the end and it'd gone away from this man,
- 2:01Speaker 1: didn't It just didn't work out for us. Obviously a
- 2:04Speaker 1: disappointment evening, but it's one of those things and it's
- 2:06Speaker 1: one of those aspects where it just didn't work.
- 2:10Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:10Speaker 2: Look, definitely not an easy week or two if you're
- 2:13Speaker 2: a Staters f on two primetime games, two losses. It's
- 2:16Speaker 2: not really been so much about the actual defeats themselves,
- 2:19Speaker 2: you know, Igan's stomach, a few defeats here and there,
- 2:21Speaker 2: it's just how they've gone down. I mean, defensively, we
- 2:24Speaker 2: just simply have not been at the races this year.
- 2:27Speaker 2: We're the hast paid defense and if you look at
- 2:28Speaker 2: our defensive rankings according to Fox, you know, when average
- 2:31Speaker 2: jars allowed, we're thirtieth in total defense, thirty second passing,
- 2:36Speaker 2: and eighteenth in defending the run. I mean, Michael, this
- 2:39Speaker 2: is a team that's in an organization that historically prides
- 2:42Speaker 2: itself from being stern defensively, and despite all that talent,
- 2:45Speaker 2: we've been, let's be honest, you know, pretty bad. In
- 2:49Speaker 2: relation to the Packers game, Jordan Love, in my opinion,
- 2:52Speaker 2: had by far the most impressive game of his career
- 2:54Speaker 2: to date. You absolutely have to take the cap off
- 2:57Speaker 2: to him and the Packers as a whole. You know,
- 2:59Speaker 2: if you look at the first half, we were able
- 3:00Speaker 2: to shut down Josh Jacobs and we did make it
- 3:03Speaker 2: very difficult for them to gain that consistency in the
- 3:06Speaker 2: past game as well. But the ways really fell off
- 3:09Speaker 2: in the second half. They were able to make, you know,
- 3:11Speaker 2: the right half time adjustments seemed like, you know, we
- 3:14Speaker 2: were just stagnated a bit in that respect. So few
- 3:17Speaker 2: sloppy panalties as well, you know, the taunting one bit
- 3:19Speaker 2: DK really set us back. Injury that Sean Elliott hasn't
- 3:22Speaker 2: been great either, but I haven't said all that. You know,
- 3:26Speaker 2: a six pm game slot is probably what we need
- 3:28Speaker 2: right now. You know, take ourselves out of prime time.
- 3:31Speaker 2: We do tend to be a bit a lot better
- 3:33Speaker 2: in these early window games at home, regardless who we're facing. You,
- 3:36Speaker 2: despite it being probably against the hottest team in the league,
- 3:39Speaker 2: expect us to bounce back quickly. So overall, I'm looking
- 3:44Speaker 2: forward to putting these in that last two games behind us,
- 3:47Speaker 2: and yeah, I'm pretty sure we can bounce back. We're
- 3:49Speaker 2: still leading the division, We've still got a game and
- 3:52Speaker 2: a half on the Ravens. You know, the Bengals are
- 3:54Speaker 2: now faltering a bit as well. We've seen not lost
- 3:55Speaker 2: to the Jets last week as well. So we're still
- 3:59Speaker 2: in pre position to go ahead and win this division.
- 4:01Speaker 2: But now really is the time that we need to
- 4:04Speaker 2: zone in and you know, lessen these mistakes and butt
- 4:07Speaker 2: ourselves up defensively.
- 4:10Speaker 1: Yeah, it wasn't an easy result last week, obviously, the
- 4:13Speaker 1: mindset and now has to be a bit resetting and
- 4:15Speaker 1: looking ahead to this week because the games really don't stop.
- 4:18Speaker 1: When you have a game like that last week, and
- 4:20Speaker 1: when you come in this week and you face a
- 4:22Speaker 1: team like this and we know how good this Indianapolis
- 4:25Speaker 1: Coast team are, we can talk about them down the
- 4:26Speaker 1: stretch here, It's not going to be easy. What sort
- 4:30Speaker 1: of area would you like to see improve with this
- 4:33Speaker 1: team over this weekend and not not just this weekend,
- 4:36Speaker 1: but down the stretch, Savage.
- 4:38Speaker 2: Look, Michael, it's not going to be a shock to
- 4:40Speaker 2: say the one area I would like to see improve
- 4:42Speaker 2: is defensively. It's just a mind bottle and you know
- 4:46Speaker 2: prospect that we found ourselves in that we're there. You know,
- 4:50Speaker 2: all these stars on the defensive saying, you know TJ. Watts,
- 4:53Speaker 2: Nick Herbigjilem Ramsey, you know Hei Smith, all these guys
- 4:58Speaker 2: with so much abilde and it just seems like we
- 5:01Speaker 2: just haven't been able to put all these pieces together.
- 5:03Speaker 2: So offensively, I've been really impressed with how we've played
- 5:06Speaker 2: this year. I mean, Aran Rodgers has come in, a
- 5:08Speaker 2: forty one year old quarterback. You know, we've watched the
- 5:11Speaker 2: last few years with the Jets. You know, he hasn't
- 5:13Speaker 2: been jumping off the screen with us. I always you know,
- 5:16Speaker 2: you can even go back to the earlier podcast earlier
- 5:18Speaker 2: in the season, I did mention I think he's a
- 5:20Speaker 2: lot better than what the league is currently given him
- 5:22Speaker 2: credit for. But I've been really impressed with how we've
- 5:25Speaker 2: been able to do offensively. Of course, you know, despite
- 5:28Speaker 2: and a lot of people will look at our talent
- 5:29Speaker 2: on offense and think, you know, I think we are
- 5:32Speaker 2: the least paid offense in the league and the highest
- 5:35Speaker 2: paid defense, and it just it seems like the offense
- 5:37Speaker 2: is really working out, you know, how to move the
- 5:40Speaker 2: ball and stuff. So been really impressed with the offense,
- 5:43Speaker 2: but you know, defensively, it's just something that we need
- 5:46Speaker 2: to improve, and we need to improve it very quickly
- 5:48Speaker 2: if we're going to be serious contenders, not just to
- 5:51Speaker 2: win the division, but to find ourselves playing football in
- 5:54Speaker 2: late January early February. So in my opinion, that's what
- 5:58Speaker 2: the Steelers should be aiming for. You know, it's built
- 6:00Speaker 2: on championships and pride, and I think that's really what
- 6:04Speaker 2: we need to be aiming for. So answer that question,
- 6:07Speaker 2: We've had a doubt. Defensive layers is where I'd be
- 6:10Speaker 2: eaming for these improvements to happen, and happen quickly for
- 6:13Speaker 2: that matter.
- 6:13Speaker 1: Well, we obviously got a big one against the Colts
- 6:15Speaker 1: this week. Look, we all know how good they are
- 6:18Speaker 1: and how good they have been. I actually had the
- 6:20Speaker 1: opportunity to go to both training camps, both the Steelers
- 6:22Speaker 1: and the Colts in the preseason, and I first hand
- 6:27Speaker 1: seen no work that was being done on the trope.
- 6:28Speaker 1: But also I was sort of standing Davogue at the
- 6:32Speaker 1: side of the field in Indianapolis. They rented out a
- 6:35Speaker 1: big field in the middle of nowhere basically can turn
- 6:37Speaker 1: it into their own training camp, and they had like
- 6:39Speaker 1: a big Friday that lights and you could feel that
- 6:42Speaker 1: there was a bit of a change in the air.
- 6:44Speaker 1: And I don't think anybody would have predicted that they
- 6:45Speaker 1: were sitting seven and one going into this game, but
- 6:48Speaker 1: certainly the way that they have been able to operate
- 6:51Speaker 1: on both sides of the ball, but just how impressive
- 6:53Speaker 1: they have been, this is certainly not going to be
- 6:55Speaker 1: an easy matchup. How impressed have you been with the
- 6:57Speaker 1: Colts so far this season?
- 7:00Speaker 2: Yeah, look very impressed, Michael. In fact, I don't think
- 7:03Speaker 2: anybody really seen this coming from the Inneapolis Colts this year.
- 7:07Speaker 2: I think a lot of people will maybe looking at
- 7:08Speaker 2: them thinking it was going to be a transition year.
- 7:10Speaker 2: But if you look at their offense, I mean number
- 7:12Speaker 2: one and total offense and number one in points per
- 7:17Speaker 2: game as well, so very very impressed. I mean if
- 7:20Speaker 2: you look at as well some of their talent. The
- 7:23Speaker 2: rookie Tyler Warren, he's been a revelation at tight end
- 7:26Speaker 2: and wide receiver. You know, Michael Pittman junr has been
- 7:31Speaker 2: always a guy with a lot of potential who's looking
- 7:33Speaker 2: to be having a breakout year this year. But of
- 7:36Speaker 2: course they're MVP in fact, not even just of the Colts,
- 7:39Speaker 2: but also maybe the MVP of the league so far
- 7:41Speaker 2: this year. Jonathan Taylor, He's been amazing, speaking personally on
- 7:46Speaker 2: as a guy who's having in fantasy. He's been hitting
- 7:49Speaker 2: over thirty points every week. I mean, he's just been
- 7:51Speaker 2: absolutely sensational. Scored a hat trick last week as well.
- 7:54Speaker 2: So if there was going to be a period in
- 7:57Speaker 2: the year that we're going to play the Colts, probably
- 7:59Speaker 2: was right now. Havn't said all that it looks right
- 8:03Speaker 2: up for a trap game. I mean we experienced it
- 8:05Speaker 2: a couple of weeks doing against the Bengals. These trap
- 8:08Speaker 2: games for teams pop up and you never know when
- 8:11Speaker 2: it's going to happen. So people might say, Okay, oh god,
- 8:14Speaker 2: it's probably not the right time to play them. In
- 8:16Speaker 2: my opinion, is probably the best time to play them,
- 8:18Speaker 2: when they're playing high, playing off the crest of a wave,
- 8:22Speaker 2: if you like. And of course if you look at
- 8:24Speaker 2: ourselves and we've got a lot of improving to do.
- 8:27Speaker 2: So you'll always find this in the NFL, whether there
- 8:29Speaker 2: be a game each week where you're thinking, oh god,
- 8:31Speaker 2: this is an easy win based on record. However, things
- 8:35Speaker 2: always even even itself out, and I think this is
- 8:37Speaker 2: probably the best time to play them. Of Course, they've
- 8:39Speaker 2: got a lot of offensive talent, their defense is very
- 8:41Speaker 2: good as well. Not taking anyway from them as well,
- 8:45Speaker 2: but I think, you know, arguably this could be a
- 8:48Speaker 2: perfect time to play them.
- 8:49Speaker 1: It's one thing to say, like anybody who's been in
- 8:51Speaker 1: the NFL fan, especially people in Europe, listen to that long,
- 8:54Speaker 1: have have learned and have seen the progression or in
- 8:59Speaker 1: Sometimes it's like of Daniel Jones's career when he was
- 9:01Speaker 1: in New York obviously he was moved about a little
- 9:04Speaker 1: bit there. Now settled in the in Indianapolis. If we
- 9:07Speaker 1: take our Caedars hats off here, you have to be
- 9:09Speaker 1: happy for a guy that gets around the league and
- 9:10Speaker 1: gets an opportunity that he has right now and for
- 9:13Speaker 1: play to him for that. Hopefully it doesn't work out
- 9:15Speaker 1: in Sunday. But how impressed and how surprised, I guess,
- 9:21Speaker 1: are you with how easy it has been for him
- 9:23Speaker 1: to integrate himself into that roster.
- 9:27Speaker 2: Yes and no, if you look at it, I mean, Michael,
- 9:31Speaker 2: he's a first round pick. I mean there was something
- 9:33Speaker 2: that the New York jan has seen in him that
- 9:35Speaker 2: made them believe that he was going to be, you know,
- 9:38Speaker 2: a starting quarterback in this league. Just looking at his
- 9:41Speaker 2: stats here, you know Daniel Jones, you know, previously a
- 9:44Speaker 2: lot of people maybe looked at him as a type
- 9:46Speaker 2: of quarterback that can do a lot with his fate.
- 9:48Speaker 2: Just looking at his stats here he's been He's thrown
- 9:50Speaker 2: over two thousand yards this year, you know, only Dak, Prescott,
- 9:54Speaker 2: Mahomes and Herbert three for more number. As well as that,
- 9:59Speaker 2: you know, he's only thrown three interceptions, a guy that
- 10:02Speaker 2: has been known for you know, throwing inner shop since left,
- 10:04Speaker 2: right and center, you know, as a giant as well
- 10:08Speaker 2: as that. You know, he's up there in QB already
- 10:10Speaker 2: and as well. So not only has he been you know,
- 10:13Speaker 2: effective with quarterback position, but he's also been playing to
- 10:17Speaker 2: the level of your guys you know, Mahomes, Herbert, you
- 10:20Speaker 2: know Prescott, who's had a really good year. Mayfield, of course,
- 10:22Speaker 2: a lot of people consider him as the MVP. You know,
- 10:25Speaker 2: he's been playing at that level that have now let
- 10:28Speaker 2: you know, people believe that he's now starting quarterback in
- 10:30Speaker 2: this league. I mean, we've also seen resurgence of the
- 10:32Speaker 2: like Sam Darnold with Seattle. You know Mayfield as well,
- 10:36Speaker 2: who you know, had a tragic time with the Browns
- 10:38Speaker 2: as well to start of his career. So I'm all
- 10:41Speaker 2: for seeing all these quarterbacks coming up, but he has
- 10:43Speaker 2: been another one that's been a revelation and honestly, I
- 10:46Speaker 2: don't think the coach would be where they're at without him.
- 10:50Speaker 2: I haven't said all that, you know, you have to
- 10:52Speaker 2: say the offensive line has been great. I mean he's
- 10:54Speaker 2: only been sacked nine times as well, only a handful
- 10:57Speaker 2: of quarterbacks in this league have been sacked less so
- 11:00Speaker 2: and the offensive line deserves a lot of credit. And
- 11:03Speaker 2: the wrong game as well. He's got a lot of
- 11:04Speaker 2: good weapons on the on the perimeter. Of course, I'm
- 11:08Speaker 2: very pleas for him and very happy to see him
- 11:10Speaker 2: doing well. But it's been sort of a combination of
- 11:13Speaker 2: you know, good you know, general manager style players as
- 11:17Speaker 2: you know, bringing in the right players, but also given
- 11:20Speaker 2: him the talent that he needs to succeed. So it's
- 11:23Speaker 2: been a combination of all that. I'm very impressed. But
- 11:25Speaker 2: hopefully we can we can put the put the side
- 11:28Speaker 2: burners on that.
- 11:29Speaker 1: If you like this week, right, you tell me what
- 11:32Speaker 1: do we need to do to stop this cold team
- 11:33Speaker 1: on Sunday now?
- 11:34Speaker 4: One.
- 11:35Speaker 2: Yeah, Look, I've probably already broken down the game and
- 11:38Speaker 2: what I think the keys are of the game. I think,
- 11:39Speaker 2: you know, if we're able to stop Jonathan Taylor, it's
- 11:42Speaker 2: going to go a long way and happiness secure victory here.
- 11:45Speaker 2: And you know, if there is a strength on our defense,
- 11:48Speaker 2: it probably is stopping the run. I mean, we haven't
- 11:51Speaker 2: been able to stop a nosebleed in the past game,
- 11:54Speaker 2: so I think, yeah, defensively, if we're able to stop
- 11:57Speaker 2: Jonathan Taylor, it's going to go a long way. But
- 11:59Speaker 2: also not overlooking Daniel Jones as a build it through
- 12:03Speaker 2: the ball as well. I mean, teams have sort of
- 12:06Speaker 2: found out that if you let go of the ball early,
- 12:09Speaker 2: it's going to cause a lot of problems for our defense.
- 12:11Speaker 2: So if we're able to get to Daniels those quickly
- 12:14Speaker 2: and also you know, stop Jonathan taelor as much as
- 12:16Speaker 2: we possibly play. I mean, there's some players in this league.
- 12:18Speaker 2: You know, you're Saquce, you're Jonathan Taylor's that you're not
- 12:20Speaker 2: gonna be able to stop completely. But if we're able
- 12:23Speaker 2: to sort of put him on the back burners, if
- 12:26Speaker 2: you like, then I think we're gonna go a long way.
- 12:28Speaker 2: So offensively as well, you know, I think it's a
- 12:32Speaker 2: good opportunity as well, just keep that ball rolling and continue.
- 12:35Speaker 2: You know, we were we were playing very well in
- 12:37Speaker 2: the first half I just think that with a Packers
- 12:40Speaker 2: defense set up in the second half, making them adjustments
- 12:42Speaker 2: sort of put us on the back, you know, the
- 12:44Speaker 2: back foot. So I think offensively, just keep doing what
- 12:48Speaker 2: we're doing and if the defense holds up their side
- 12:50Speaker 2: of the bargain, then I think we're going to go
- 12:51Speaker 2: a long way. So Keith, he's the game stopping Jonathan
- 12:55Speaker 2: Taylor and also taking away that quick pass game from
- 12:57Speaker 2: from Daniel Jones, and I think we're always in with
- 13:00Speaker 2: a chance of getting a victor here.
- 13:03Speaker 1: Okay, before we look ahead this game, give our keys
- 13:06Speaker 1: of the game. We're gonna hear first off from coach
- 13:08Speaker 1: Tomlin here on the Irish Hitters podcast presented by Earning Us.
- 13:13Speaker 4: We're familiar with these guys from a personnel standpoint because
- 13:17Speaker 4: we've played them quite a bit here recently, but it
- 13:20Speaker 4: also is is some new schematics new to them, but
- 13:25Speaker 4: not necessarily new to us. We've competed against Lou over
- 13:27Speaker 4: the years from his years in Cincinnati as a defensive coordinator.
- 13:32Speaker 4: I see some things that are certainly Lou, but he's
- 13:36Speaker 4: certainly adaptable in terms of highlighting the talents of the
- 13:39Speaker 4: men that he works with. It starts inside and up
- 13:42Speaker 4: front with their defense. Buckner and Stewart are grizzly veteran players,
- 13:48Speaker 4: men who are really good at what they do. They
- 13:50Speaker 4: control the line of scrimmage. Stewart's really tough against the run.
- 13:55Speaker 4: Buckner obviously is a dynamic pass rusher on the interior.
- 13:58Speaker 4: They do some things to create for him on guards
- 14:02Speaker 4: on centers. The stematic variations that you see, particularly in
- 14:07Speaker 4: one dimensional passing moments, really highlights their talents. They got
- 14:13Speaker 4: a nice edge group that runs deep. They play a
- 14:16Speaker 4: lot of people, they're multiple. It helps them on third down. Man,
- 14:21Speaker 4: they getting a bunch of structures on third down. You
- 14:23Speaker 4: can see Nickel four two, Nickel five to one, dying
- 14:27Speaker 4: three to two, dying forty one. Lou does a nice
- 14:30Speaker 4: job of keeping you off balanced by mixing up a
- 14:33Speaker 4: variety of personnel groups, particularly in one dimensional passing moments
- 14:38Speaker 4: at the linebacker level. Man got a lot of respect
- 14:40Speaker 4: for Franklin. He's their defensive quarterback. I just appreciate a
- 14:44Speaker 4: guy who's grown and developed within a system or a
- 14:48Speaker 4: location in playing them over the years. Man at the
- 14:52Speaker 4: early stages of his career he was a core teamer,
- 14:56Speaker 4: and then he became like a rundown defender and then
- 14:58Speaker 4: a support defender the shot Leonard, and then he became
- 15:03Speaker 4: the defensive quarterback. And it's just been a nice fluid progression.
- 15:07Speaker 4: He's a volume tackler, he has been for a number
- 15:10Speaker 4: of years. He gets to the ball all over the field.
- 15:13Speaker 4: He's a he's a very good blitzer. Uh Lou's using
- 15:16Speaker 4: him in a very similar way that he used Logan
- 15:20Speaker 4: Wilson from his time in Cincinnati. You can see some
- 15:23Speaker 4: parallels in terms of preparing for these guys. They use
- 15:27Speaker 4: Kenny at the Nickel Spot in a very similar way
- 15:30Speaker 4: that they use Mike Hilton, for example, at the Nickel
- 15:33Speaker 4: Spot in Cincinnati. Again, it doesn't make operating any easier,
- 15:38Speaker 4: but it's certainly some nice things to draw from from
- 15:42Speaker 4: a familiarity standpoint, so that we can get better equipped
- 15:47Speaker 4: or get a better understanding of some of the things
- 15:49Speaker 4: that they're doing, uh, so that we can you know,
- 15:52Speaker 4: counteract that. But they're a great group. They're getting a
- 15:56Speaker 4: bunch of turnovers. But they've been up on some people.
- 15:59Speaker 4: People have been one tomans. It usually bad turns the
- 16:02Speaker 4: worst and and they've benefited from that. They've done a
- 16:05Speaker 4: nice job of for preserving and protecting the ball. I
- 16:07Speaker 4: think their point different entual on the season is I
- 16:10Speaker 4: don't know, plus one point fifty, and I think it's
- 16:12Speaker 4: indicative of some of those things that we've been discussing.
- 16:16Speaker 4: They're a really good, really good group. They're rolling, they
- 16:18Speaker 4: got really good momentum. It's an awesome challenge for us.
- 16:22Speaker 4: I'm excited about the prep process. Uh that leads to performance,
- 16:26Speaker 4: and so we got a big week ahead of us. Man,
- 16:29Speaker 4: but it's always nice to perform an actor, sure, and
- 16:32Speaker 4: we're excited about that.
- 16:35Speaker 1: We're not gonna look ahead to the game. But before
- 16:37Speaker 1: we do that, that's here from both Daria Slack. I'm
- 16:40Speaker 1: d km mccuff ahead of this obsolutely huge home game
- 16:43Speaker 1: against the Indianapolis Colts this weekend on the Irish Theaters
- 16:46Speaker 1: potcasts presented by Erlikas Or.
- 16:50Speaker 3: It's trying to get better against you that you learn
- 16:52Speaker 3: taken away from looking at the from that particularly in
- 16:57Speaker 3: the high red areavalize, could you please from that that
- 17:01Speaker 3: you can do better this time once.
- 17:03Speaker 5: We get to the red zone. I mean the problem
- 17:06Speaker 5: is getting to.
- 17:06Speaker 1: The red zone.
- 17:07Speaker 5: Once we get to rezon we we've been able to
- 17:09Speaker 5: score points, So just being able to sustain guys and
- 17:11Speaker 5: not know being some radical in the playmaking that we
- 17:14Speaker 5: have or the execution you know that we have all.
- 17:17Speaker 3: Do you think it's more push snap that as opposed
- 17:19Speaker 3: to whatever venue of plays you have in.
- 17:21Speaker 5: The rest, Yes, sir, I mean because the defense has
- 17:25Speaker 5: to stopped us. We can't stop ourselves. You know, they
- 17:27Speaker 5: got to line up. They don't know our.
- 17:29Speaker 6: Routes or they don't plays.
- 17:31Speaker 5: So we just got to execue better than going to stop.
- 17:34Speaker 5: When you talk about stopping yourself, do you feel like
- 17:36Speaker 5: frustration set in and hurt you guys at all Sunday night? Way, No, sir,
- 17:41Speaker 5: We've just got to xcue better play six minutes of
- 17:44Speaker 5: coming football, Kim, you.
- 17:45Speaker 4: Ever talked about responding to adversity better?
- 17:48Speaker 5: Is that something that you and the other letter veteran
- 17:50Speaker 5: leaders around to me that talked about trying to get
- 17:52Speaker 5: that across the roster better. I don't think we've had trouble,
- 17:56Speaker 5: you know, with sustaining through adversity, because we've done it,
- 17:59Speaker 5: you know a number of weeks of toil at the
- 18:01Speaker 5: first half of the season. So I think he's just
- 18:03Speaker 5: playing clay football for sixty minutes and you know, just
- 18:06Speaker 5: playing our Brandon.
- 18:07Speaker 2: Football your penalty, did he say something to you?
- 18:10Speaker 5: Now I'm gonna lay that on the field, cause yeah,
- 18:12Speaker 5: well no self assess Dusty's howbout your self?
- 18:15Speaker 6: Assess myself?
- 18:16Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean I always get play better.
- 18:17Speaker 6: You know, I ain't been playing the best, but I've
- 18:19Speaker 6: been playing no decent and you know, uh but uh
- 18:22Speaker 6: I got a shift on my end for sure, play better.
- 18:24Speaker 1: I know I got a lot left.
- 18:26Speaker 5: Uh you know, I'm making some plays, but I.
- 18:28Speaker 6: Got just like how I feel I can definitely way
- 18:30Speaker 6: more consistent. You know, brought me.
- 18:33Speaker 2: What do you guys get in adding a guy like
- 18:35Speaker 2: Kyle Duggar?
- 18:35Speaker 6: What does he kind of bring to the secondary?
- 18:37Speaker 5: Are you familiar with him or?
- 18:39Speaker 1: Uh?
- 18:39Speaker 6: I mean I watched him play, but you know, uh
- 18:41Speaker 6: I kind of like, you know, just I don't really
- 18:43Speaker 6: play that safety position, so I don't really know nobody
- 18:45Speaker 6: what to look. Yeah, but I wasn't like into his game,
- 18:48Speaker 6: but I've been seeing him playing for a long time.
- 18:50Speaker 1: Man.
- 18:50Speaker 6: Uh he's a bitter and uh I know he's a
- 18:52Speaker 6: willing tackle. Her guy's you know, physical guy.
- 18:55Speaker 1: He could do it.
- 18:56Speaker 6: So uh, you know, I'm excited for him. You know,
- 18:58Speaker 6: I hope he come to uh, you know, John Wagon,
- 19:01Speaker 6: you know, add to the team.
- 19:04Speaker 1: Good to hear from the guys, both coach Tomlin and
- 19:06Speaker 1: players as well ahead of this big, big matchup. And
- 19:08Speaker 1: I hope for people listening at home, we've brought you
- 19:10Speaker 1: a little closer to this game. This game is on
- 19:11Speaker 1: the sky Sports NFL this weekend and if you're on
- 19:14Speaker 1: the road, you can listen on the off the Ball
- 19:16Speaker 1: Sports up. Think for me, the keys of the game
- 19:18Speaker 1: are very, very simple in this situation. We know how
- 19:21Speaker 1: good the Colts are on both sides of the ball, Davo.
- 19:23Speaker 1: But we know how efficient they have been in this offense.
- 19:26Speaker 1: And one thing that we haven't been great out over
- 19:28Speaker 1: the last few weeks is given away points and putting
- 19:30Speaker 1: points up on the board for the offer team. We
- 19:32Speaker 1: need to go in. We need to start well and
- 19:34Speaker 1: we need to find a way to make sure that
- 19:37Speaker 1: both the run game, very very crucially, the run game
- 19:40Speaker 1: for the Colts is stopped. Didn't see a lot of
- 19:42Speaker 1: the run game against Green Bell last week in comparison
- 19:44Speaker 1: to how it could have been, But we need to
- 19:46Speaker 1: make sure when you've got a guy like Jonathan Taylor
- 19:49Speaker 1: that he can be stopped. And I'm sure you're going
- 19:50Speaker 1: to repeat that in a few seconds. But when I
- 19:53Speaker 1: see Daniel Jones, I'm already looking at a guy where
- 19:55Speaker 1: my mind's completely changed and I fully expect him to
- 19:59Speaker 1: maybe be to throw three to four passing touchdowns in
- 20:01Speaker 1: this game. That can't happen. And that's very, very simple
- 20:03Speaker 1: and the best thing that we need to see, the
- 20:05Speaker 1: best thing that we need to see from a reaction
- 20:07Speaker 1: from this team when I've had the whole week to
- 20:09Speaker 1: regroup and refocus and reset. In terms of that Green
- 20:11Speaker 1: Bay Packers game, we need to see a defense stand
- 20:15Speaker 1: up like TG Watt, like different guys that Cam Heyward
- 20:18Speaker 1: stand up and be counted and limit this team from
- 20:21Speaker 1: to twenty to twenty four points. They are gonna get
- 20:23Speaker 1: points on the board. There's no point in looking away
- 20:25Speaker 1: from not they were a good offense. There were a
- 20:27Speaker 1: good teams structurally as well on both sides as well.
- 20:29Speaker 1: We need to stop that. I certainly think for us,
- 20:32Speaker 1: we need to find a way to superliance so much
- 20:34Speaker 1: on Chris Boswell. Obviously he is superb, He's a beast,
- 20:37Speaker 1: but we need to find that way of getting the
- 20:39Speaker 1: offense taking a little bit again like we've seen in Dublin.
- 20:41Speaker 1: I'm gonna get the Staders to win this game. I
- 20:43Speaker 1: think it's gonna be a tight game. I think the
- 20:45Speaker 1: Staders defense is gonna show up and they're gonna make
- 20:47Speaker 1: the big players and make the big stops. Win is needed.
- 20:50Speaker 1: I am gonna see Aaron Rodgers and this offense, including
- 20:54Speaker 1: Chris Boswell as well, go out and score twenty four points.
- 20:57Speaker 1: I expected to win this game twenty four to twenty
- 20:59Speaker 1: one just before we had out here, don will give
- 21:01Speaker 1: us your game pick, my friend.
- 21:03Speaker 2: Yeah, as I said Michael, you know a lot of
- 21:04Speaker 2: people will maybe be listening to this thinking, surely you
- 21:08Speaker 2: know it's it's a Coats victory this weekend. But you know,
- 21:11Speaker 2: stranger things have happened, and it's going to be no
- 21:14Speaker 2: surprise that I think the Steelers are going to bounce back.
- 21:16Speaker 3: Here.
- 21:16Speaker 2: You're in a home game early window. There's also a
- 21:20Speaker 2: few lads from Ireland flying out to Pittsburgh this weekend.
- 21:23Speaker 2: Shout out to Jimmy Hope he has has a brilliant
- 21:26Speaker 2: time over there and hopefully comes back with the W
- 21:29Speaker 2: and I think he will. I mean, when ours people
- 21:32Speaker 2: do tend to go over to the States, we do
- 21:34Speaker 2: tend to come back with a victory. It's it's a
- 21:36Speaker 2: weird omen that we have, and I think this weekend
- 21:39Speaker 2: is going to be no different. A lot of people
- 21:40Speaker 2: probably listening thinking, this guy is crazy. What's he talking about.
- 21:43Speaker 2: This is arguably the most informed team in the league.
- 21:46Speaker 2: But we've seen stranger things happen again, you know. I
- 21:49Speaker 2: think this is a massive trap game for the Colts.
- 21:51Speaker 2: You know, if you look at their schedule, they have
- 21:53Speaker 2: a lot of easy games coming up as well, and
- 21:55Speaker 2: I think this is maybe one of the games at
- 21:57Speaker 2: the start of the year they maybe want to put
- 21:58Speaker 2: down as a loss because it's a difficult place to
- 22:00Speaker 2: come to, you know, regardless of when you're playing them,
- 22:03Speaker 2: and I think this week will be no different. So
- 22:07Speaker 2: I'm going to go for a low scoring game here, Michael.
- 22:09Speaker 2: I'm going to go twenty seventeen Steelers. Again. If we're
- 22:13Speaker 2: able to neutralize Jonathan Taylor to the best or build
- 22:15Speaker 2: a stop that quick past game and the defense finally
- 22:18Speaker 2: shows what we know they're capable of, I think it's
- 22:22Speaker 2: going to go a long way. So give me Steelers
- 22:25Speaker 2: twenty Colts seventeen. I would say take that of the bank,
- 22:29Speaker 2: but I wouldn't want you to lose out in your mortgage,
- 22:32Speaker 2: so keep it. Keep the money to your close to
- 22:35Speaker 2: your chest this weekend, folks.
- 22:37Speaker 1: Thank you very much Starvog for that. I hope you
- 22:39Speaker 1: have a good weekend, sir. For everybody listening around as well,
- 22:41Speaker 1: I hope you have a fantastic weekend. On a Sunday
- 22:44Speaker 1: evening six pm local time, remember the clocks change this
- 22:47Speaker 1: weekend in Ireland and in the uken Europe. If aready
- 22:50Speaker 1: change in the US. A reminder of the game is
- 22:52Speaker 1: on Sky Sports NFL and off the Ball Really you up.
- 22:55Speaker 1: If you'd like to listen to that, just down off
- 22:57Speaker 1: the Ball. But for now, hopefully we're talking about win
- 23:00Speaker 1: next week and if we're not, we'll be If we're not,
- 23:02Speaker 1: we'll be back anyway. Don't worry, folks. You can follow
- 23:05Speaker 1: us on all forms of social media x, Instagram, TikTok
