- 0:31we hope that you have had a great Christmas season
- 0:35and just the blessings of God over your life
- 0:39and this next upcoming year for those that are
- 0:42you have listening. And so today we're going
- 0:44to be in this episode and it's I wanted to do
- 0:46something a little bit special and it's our Christmas
- 0:48episode. It is our final message of the year,
- 0:51the one where we look back and forward and up
- 0:54and all at the same time. And I want to speak
- 0:57this slowly over you. God has been faithful.
- 1:00Whether you felt it this year, like it was a
- 1:03victory or survival, whether you walked through
- 1:05joy or walk through heartbreak, whether you ran
- 1:08or crawled or whether you were carried, you're
- 1:12here. You're listening. You're breathing. In
- 1:16the same time, you led through God led you through
- 1:20all of the beginning of the year and He is the
- 1:22same God that is standing with you right now.
- 1:24And Christmas is the reminder, the loud breathtaking
- 1:27reminder that you are never alone. God came,
- 1:32God stayed, and God is here. Christmas is not
- 1:36cute. It's not sentimental. It's not soft. It's
- 1:42not something simple and peaceful. Christmas
- 1:45is disruptive. Christmas is warfare. Christmas
- 1:49is God Himself stepping into the enemy territory,
- 1:53into the world full of darkness and brokenness
- 1:56and unrest and saying, I am here now and nothing
- 2:00will ever be the same again. Christmas is heaven
- 2:03breaking open over the world, drowning in sin.
- 2:08It is the birth of rescue. The revival of redemption,
- 2:13the beginning and the end of bondage. Christmas
- 2:15is the moment God chose to wrap himself in flesh.
- 2:19Fragile, breakable, interruptible flesh, because
- 2:24he refused to leave us trapped in our own weaknesses.
- 2:29Scripture tells us in Isaiah 9 -2, the people
- 2:31who walk in darkness will see a great light.
- 2:35Those who live in the dark land, the light will
- 2:38shine on them. Christmas is that prophecy fulfilled.
- 2:43Jesus Christ is the light of the world, stepping
- 2:46into the world that barely recognized him because
- 2:49the darkness had been normal for so long. And
- 2:53maybe that's your year. Maybe your darkness has
- 2:57become normal. Maybe heaviness becomes familiar.
- 3:01And maybe exhaustion became routine. But Christmas
- 3:05is God whispering. The light has come. You don't
- 3:10have to live in the shadows anymore. And when
- 3:14John opens his gospel, he doesn't begin with
- 3:16shepherds and angels and mangers. He begins with
- 3:19eternity. In the beginning was the Word, and
- 3:22the Word was God, and the Word was God. And then
- 3:29he drops the entire gospel into the earth -shaking
- 3:33sentence in John 1, 14. When the Word became
- 3:37flesh, and dwelt among us dwelt among us meaning
- 3:42he didn't brush past this he didn't visit with
- 3:47a distance he didn't shout truth from far away
- 3:50he came close he moved in he inhabited our humanity
- 3:55he stepped into the womb of a young girl into
- 4:00the arms of into the arms of a carpenter into
- 4:03a manger that smelled like animals and straw
- 4:05and sweat The king of the heavens grew inside
- 4:08the body of a teenage girl. The Almighty let
- 4:11his first breath be the dawn of the darkness
- 4:14of a stable. That is Emmanuel, the God with us.
- 4:20And the miracle of Christmas isn't just that
- 4:22he came, but how he came. Not in power, not in
- 4:27a spectacle, not in thunder, not on a throne,
- 4:32but in weakness, vulnerability. humility. Philippians
- 4:382 says that he emptied himself, the creator choosing
- 4:43to become a creation, the infinite choosing limitations,
- 4:48the sovereign choosing servanthood, the one who
- 4:52spoke galaxies into existence, choosing to be
- 4:56held by human hands. Christmas is God saying,
- 5:01you will never be too broken, too messy. are
- 5:05too flawed, are too human for me to enter in.
- 5:08Christmas is proof that heaven bends low. And
- 5:13I want you to think about the timing of His arrival.
- 5:16In Galatians 4 .4, it says, When the faithfulness
- 5:18of time came, God sent forth His Son, not early,
- 5:23not late, not rushed, not delayed, but right
- 5:28when God ordained it. And I want to speak this
- 5:30over you today. The same God who sent Jesus at
- 5:33the right time knows how to send provision at
- 5:36the right time, healing at the right time, answers
- 5:39at the right time, breakthroughs at the right
- 5:42time. Christmas reminds us that God's timing
- 5:45is always perfect, even when we're waiting feels
- 5:50painful. And I want you to take this into heart
- 5:53of the kind of a theological truth. Now that
- 5:58kinda it is. The theological truth of the internal
- 6:01son of God became human while remaining fully
- 6:04God. That's not mythological. That's symbolic.
- 6:10It's literally historical doctrine reality. God
- 6:15didn't send an angel to save us. He didn't send
- 6:17a prophet to rescue us. He didn't send a vision,
- 6:20a formula, or a force. He sent himself. Because
- 6:24only God could save humanity from the curse of
- 6:27sin only God could take on the weight of wrath
- 6:30Only God could could fill the law perfectly only
- 6:34God could walk the road of the cross without
- 6:36stumbling into sin and So the Sun came not as
- 6:40an idea But as a baby Fully God and fully man
- 6:45the only one could bridge the gap between heaven
- 6:48and earth Christmas looks beautiful on cards,
- 6:52but in scripture It was gritty. It was violent.
- 6:56It was raw and holy. And a young girl giving
- 7:01birth without comfort. A husband trying to protect
- 7:04his family. He didn't feel worthy to lead. Shepherds
- 7:08startled awakened by angels and murderous kings
- 7:11slaughtering children in fear of losing his throne.
- 7:14A family fleeing Egypt as refugees. Christmas
- 7:18is not sanitized. It is sacred in the mess. And
- 7:23maybe that's why it resonates so deeply with
- 7:26everyone who feels like their life is a mess.
- 7:28Because God didn't arrive in perfection. He arrived
- 7:33in chaos, proving that He will meet you exactly
- 7:36where you are, even when everything feels tangled.
- 7:41And now let's talk about the gospel, built into
- 7:43Christmas. Jesus didn't come to stay in the manger.
- 7:47The manger was a launching point for His mission.
- 7:50He came to live the sinful life, sinless life
- 7:53that we couldn't live, to show us the Father,
- 7:58to reveal the kingdom, to heal the sick, to raise
- 8:01the dead, to confront evil, to teach truth, and
- 8:04ultimately to offer himself as the Lamb of God
- 8:07who takes away the sin of the world. Christmas
- 8:10leads to Calvary, the cradle leads to the cross,
- 8:14and the swaddling clothes lead to burial clothes.
- 8:18that could not hold him. Christmas is the beginning
- 8:21of the rescue story. And as I tell my kids all
- 8:25the time, Christmas is great. Don't get me wrong.
- 8:27We can't have Easter without Christmas. But Christmas,
- 8:31a guy was born and the Redeemer came in. But
- 8:36Easter is the victory. And every moment in between
- 8:40reveals a God who refuses to abandon his creation.
- 8:46And so Christmas is also a healing story because
- 8:50Jesus stepped into a world. He stepped into our
- 8:53wounds. Isaiah 53 calls him a man of sorrows
- 8:57acquainted with grief. Christmas is not celebrated
- 9:01by God who doesn't understand pain. Christmas
- 9:03is celebrated by a God who entered it, embraced
- 9:07it, redeemed it. He knows what it feels like
- 9:10to be tired, misunderstood, rejected, betrayed,
- 9:14overwhelmed, lonely, hungry. tempted, sorrowful,
- 9:18and human. When Hebrews 415 says, he sympathizes
- 9:22with our weakness, Christmas is proof. And I
- 9:26wonder how many of you are ending this year tired,
- 9:30maybe disappointed, maybe carrying wounds only
- 9:33God sees, maybe grieving someone, maybe fixing
- 9:37some place in silence, maybe battling fear about
- 9:41the future. Maybe feeling behind on everything
- 9:44you hoped would have changed by now. But yet
- 9:47Christmas whispers, God is with you in the dark.
- 9:51God is with you in the waiting. God is with you
- 9:54in the questions. God is with you when you feel
- 9:58it's unfinished. Emmanuel is not just a seasonal
- 10:02slogan. It is spiritual reality. And this is
- 10:07where the Holy Spirit comes in because Christmas
- 10:09isn't just a story of Christ being born, it is
- 10:13a story of Christ making a way for the spirit
- 10:15to dwell inside of us. Jesus came to be with
- 10:19us so that the spirit could be in us. And John
- 10:2314, 16 through 17 says, the spirit will be with
- 10:26us forever. That means Christmas isn't a moment.
- 10:30It's a movement, a movement of God drawing near,
- 10:33filling his people, empowering his church, transforming
- 10:36our lives from the inside out. Christmas is the
- 10:39beginning of the spirit story in you. And now
- 10:43I want to shift this message towards you. Toward
- 10:45your year, towards your journey, your pain, your
- 10:48growth, your story. Because Christmas is the
- 10:51reminder that God writes the most beautiful stories
- 10:53in the most unexpected places. Maybe this year
- 10:56didn't look like what you prayed for it would
- 10:58be. Maybe it wasn't the breakthrough year of
- 11:01healing or it wasn't the easiest year or the
- 11:04tidiest year. But God is working. He's forming.
- 11:08He was protecting. He was pruning. He was positioning.
- 11:11He was closer than you thought. And in James
- 11:151 17, it says every good thing even the every
- 11:18perfect gift is comes from above. If you saw
- 11:21even one glimpse of grace this year, that was
- 11:24him. And if you made it through a more difficult
- 11:28moment, that was him. If you were if you were
- 11:34in grief and comforted, that was him. If you
- 11:37heard a whisper in the chaos, that was him. Christmas
- 11:42is an invitation to look back and say, God, you
- 11:45were here. Even when I didn't see you, you were
- 11:49there. And now before we move on into the next
- 11:53year, this is where action comes in. Because
- 11:57Christmas isn't meant to leave you inspired.
- 12:00It is meant to leave you transformed. And action
- 12:03begins with stillness. And before we end this
- 12:06year, choose one quiet moment to sit with God
- 12:09and say, Show me where you are this year. Don't
- 12:14rush it. Don't analyze it. Just sit. And the
- 12:19Holy Spirit will bring to mind the places of
- 12:21protection, the moments of mercy, the whispers
- 12:24of the direction, the flashes of strength, seeing
- 12:29God's hand behind you that builds your faith
- 12:34and what is ahead. Action continues with surrender.
- 12:39Lay down what didn't happen. Lay down what broke
- 12:43your heart. Lay down the timeline that you tried
- 12:46to force. Lay down the weight that you weren't
- 12:49ready to carry. Like Mary and Luke 1 .38 say,
- 12:54but it unto me according to your word. Surrender
- 12:58is a soil where new beginnings grow. Action cultivates
- 13:05with expectation. Christmas teaches us that God
- 13:09can interrupt any moment with glory. He can fill
- 13:14any darkness with light. He can fulfill any promise
- 13:18at the appointed time. Walk into the new year
- 13:21expecting God to move, not because the calendar
- 13:24changes, but because Christ reigns. And I know
- 13:28as we close this final episode of the year, I
- 13:31want to speak a blessing over you, a Christmas
- 13:33blessing, an end of year blessing, a Holy Spirit
- 13:36filled blessing. May the light of Christ break
- 13:39every shadow around you. May the peace of Christ
- 13:42settle every storm within you. May the presence
- 13:45of Christ draw nearer than your breath. May the
- 13:48voice of Christ guide your steps into this next
- 13:51year. May the strength of Christ carry you where
- 13:54you cannot go alone. May the love of Christ heal
- 13:57you where you are wounded. May Emmanuel, God
- 14:01with us, be your confidence, your comfort, and
- 14:05your assistance. your consistent companion. I
- 14:09believe that every listener is going to be surrounded
- 14:13by the Holy Spirit. Fill them, steady them, heal
- 14:16them, lead them. Make this next year where you
- 14:19can see and they can walk it clearly. They walk
- 14:22with you deeply. They walk with you boldly. They
- 14:25walk with you because they know that you have
- 14:27never left them and that you're not going to.
- 14:31We hope that this message blessed you. We hope
- 14:33that this message encouraged you, inspired you
- 14:35that Christmas is more than a cute Christmas
- 14:38card, but it is God coming to rescue His people
- 14:42and He is here. He is active and He is alive.
- 14:45We would love to pray for you. Dear Heavenly
- 14:47Father, thank you so much for these listeners.
- 14:49Thank you so much for their vulnerability. Thank
- 14:52you for their surrender. Thank you that they
- 14:53are going to live open -handed because they want
- 14:56correction. They want the fruits of the Spirit.
- 14:59Thank you for those that do not know you, that
- 15:01they're going to come to know you this year.
- 15:03Thank you for the Bible. Thank you for scripture.
- 15:04Thank you that you are changing our hearts. Thank
- 15:06you that you're changing our minds. Thank you
- 15:07for clear vision. Thank you for discernment.
- 15:10Thank you that this next year will be our healthiest
- 15:13year yet. Thank you for all that you do. In Jesus'
- 15:16name I pray. Amen. Well friends, Merry Christmas.
- 15:21Thank you for being with us this year. We are
- 15:23proud of you and God is not finished with you.
- 15:26He's just getting started. Have a great rest
- 15:29of your year. We love you. Bye.
