- 0:04Let's talk. What's up weirdos?
- 0:06Welcome back episode 27. Oh.
- 0:09My God, 27 let's do it. Let's do it.
- 0:11Let's get into it. All right, Reddit, Today I effed
- 0:14up by realizing that laxatives can take a while to kick in.
- 0:19Oh no. Yes, yes, he said.
- 0:24I have been struggling with some gut issues so a friend convinced
- 0:27me to try the carnivore diet. So I proceed with meats and
- 0:31eggs, breakfast, lunch and dinner.
- 0:33It all seems to be going as OK as possible until the 4th day
- 0:37when I realized I haven't pooped in, well, four days.
- 0:42I figure it's a new diet, it will adjust.
- 0:45Three more days go by and I'm getting increasingly
- 0:48uncomfortable. I have pounds of fermented meats
- 0:51in my intestines and it feels like it.
- 0:54I'm releasing horrid gas smells that smell like it.
- 0:59Well now it's been a week. I figured this isn't good right?
- 1:03So I head to the store. I have 0 experience with
- 1:05laxatives and I'm too embarrassed to ask anyone so I
- 1:08ask. Google.
- 1:08I'm about to say Google exists, please.
- 1:11No, so I throw in some kids dulcolax.
- 1:15Good to start gentle right? Some glycerin suppositories
- 1:19because I read on Reddit thanks Reddit that these are gentle and
- 1:22effective. Some adult dulcolax, some prune
- 1:25juice, the classic choice and some dried apricots for good
- 1:28measure because I remember when I was a kid these baby poop like
- 1:31no tomorrow. I feel like he got.
- 1:33Everything that you could ever need, but you don't need to
- 1:36layer them on top of each other. Guess.
- 1:37What I'm going to do? Oh my God.
- 1:42So the first day I pop a couple of the kids Dulcolax, nothing.
- 1:45A few hours later I decide let's try the glycerin.
- 1:49Nothing. Later that day I try more kids
- 1:52dulcolax and another glycerin Suppository.
- 1:54Nada. I realized at this point pooping
- 1:57has consumed my every thoughts. It's been 8 days now, the
- 2:03longest in my life really, and I feel so bloated, nauseous, and
- 2:07full of poop. I contemplate going to the
- 2:09doctor. Oh God.
- 2:10Instead, I figure, why not throw the rest of the arsenal at the
- 2:13problem? I take a couple more kids
- 2:16dulcolax, pound a can of prune juice, pop two more adult
- 2:20Dulcolax, and then later that day eat a couple of handfuls of
- 2:23dried apricots. When nothing happens after a
- 2:26couple of hours, another can of prune juice down the Hatch and
- 2:30one more dulcolax, because why not?
- 2:32Oh my God, he's doing too much. He's.
- 2:34Doing it, it's like a gummy. Let it work if.
- 2:37It's not ASAP, I'm going to take another one like.
- 2:41You never take another one. He said.
- 2:44As I lie down in bed, my stomach starts making noises, noises
- 2:48that no stomach should make, noises that perhaps only a demon
- 2:51possessed animal of some sort might make.
- 2:53And the gurgling, I've never ever heard or experienced the
- 2:57likes of it. I toss and turn and wish I could
- 3:00turn back time. I could feel that something is
- 3:02going to happen, something intense, and I'm terrified.
- 3:07At some point I fall into fitful sleep.
- 3:09I dream of being chased by animals making strange noises.
- 3:15I wake up twice in a cold sweat and try to get something to
- 3:19release in the bathroom. Instead I throw up.
- 3:22At this point rolling cramps are hitting me and every time I sit
- 3:25on the toilet my legs go numb. I feel light headed yet nothing.
- 3:29Nothing. He still hasn't moved.
- 3:31He's suffering and he hasn't. Poor guy.
- 3:34I somehow fall into a brief, fruitful sleep and I wake up
- 3:37feeling like a hot knife is twisting its way into my guts.
- 3:41I run to the bathroom and trip over my very confused and very
- 3:45concerned dog and stumble the rest of the way into the
- 3:47bathroom. I pop down and I feel something
- 3:50literally moving its way out. I'm giving birth to something
- 3:53and it's unnatural and large. To spare the details, it decides
- 3:59to get stuck painfully right before freedom and I die a
- 4:02little on the inside. Finally, it releases with so
- 4:05much force behind it that I splash myself with toilet water.
- 4:08OK, he's like, not to go into too much detail, never seems to
- 4:12go into detail, but I love. The way he's telling the story,
- 4:15great storytelling, it's amazing.
- 4:17Then the fun begins that's seen in Dumb and Dumber when he gets
- 4:21dosed with the laxative that seems mild compared to what I
- 4:24had to go through for over an hour.
- 4:27It's like a waterfall of the worst kind.
- 4:29I'm sweating, hunched over with rolling cramps, and something
- 4:32unholy unleashes itself over and over.
- 4:37After an hour and a half, I stumbled to bed and collapsed.
- 4:40I choked some Gatorade. Thankfully I had some so very
- 4:43thankful and I managed to pass out from exhaustion until two
- 4:46hours later. Next round.
- 4:50Next round I am tortured by another miserable and violent
- 4:53experience that leaves me weak and questioning how these things
- 4:56can be available over the counter for us stupids to
- 4:59release on themselves. This experience repeats itself
- 5:03two more times until the end and I swear it's just water.
- 5:07It can't be anything else at this point.
- 5:08I've literally become a human fountain.
- 5:11It's the next day and I'm still making trips to the bathroom
- 5:14every couple of hours. My whole abdomen is sore.
- 5:17I will never question the benefits of fiber again.
- 5:19And the next time, God forbid, I will have some patience instead
- 5:23of chucking the kitchen sink at it.
- 5:25Oh my God, no patience whatsoever.
- 5:28Take another and take another prune juice apricots.
- 5:32I mean a couple apricots and you're good, you're good.
- 5:35One can of prune juice, you're good.
- 5:38But then you just went for everything else on top of it, on
- 5:40top of it, on top of it. Oh my God, I'm so I'm surprised
- 5:43he's alive. I was going to say the.
- 5:46Same thing. How are you alive?
- 5:48Hopefully it was a weekend he didn't have to go to work that
- 5:50day or the next. Day.
- 5:52Imagine. Yeah, he said.
- 5:54I'm just going to eat more, drink more, take more.
- 5:56You're insane. You're insane.
- 6:00I mean, you just kept going and I was like, I'm getting more
- 6:03nervous. I can feel it in my chest.
- 6:04I'm getting nervous for this guy, bruh.
- 6:06And eight days worth of backup. Yeah, I know he felt terrible.
- 6:11So even though he was dying on the toilet, he was just like,
- 6:13thank God. And he will never do an all meat
- 6:16diet again. That part we're all paid for,
- 6:20all meat. No impatience.
- 6:22It's OK. It might take a couple hours,
- 6:24take a nap or something, but he said.
- 6:26I'm going to take another one. Oh my God.
- 6:29Hey, I I mean I can tell the story of an ex Co worker a while
- 6:32ago was telling me that he took the the tea.
- 6:36There's like a tea that helps you go like a laxative tea.
- 6:39And he was supposed to go to a birthday party and he also
- 6:42didn't know that it took a while.
- 6:44So he took it. He was waiting around and he was
- 6:46like, well whatever, I need to go to my kids birthday party at
- 6:49Chuck E Cheese and he almost pooped himself.
- 6:52Always Chuck E Cheese though the places.
- 6:56They should put that on the label.
- 6:57Like, I know you think it should take this, but add more time.
- 7:00But add more time. They tell you, I think, to take
- 7:03it at night. Yes, before bed.
- 7:05So you can just. Yeah, I'm glad he's alive.
- 7:10Right. All right, this one, I'm going
- 7:14to put a little bit of a trigger warning in it because it's
- 7:16inappropriate behavior by an adult towards a young person.
- 7:20She's not a child. She's 18.
- 7:21But still, I'll put that out there.
- 7:24Rage bit. Here we go.
- 7:25Am I overreacting? My friend's dad made me
- 7:28uncomfortable. Oh no.
- 7:31Yes, I 18 females stayed over at my friend's eighteen female
- 7:35house because her dad was going to drive us to the beach and he
- 7:37wanted to get there before traffic.
- 7:39All was fine. He dropped us off then picked us
- 7:42up later on the way home a song came on his playlist I get off
- 7:46by hailstorm. He randomly told us, quote, this
- 7:49song is about a girl getting off by a man watching her through
- 7:52her window. And we were like, OK.
- 7:56And then he said exhibitionism. A lot of people get turned on
- 8:00from that. I'm pretty sure she and points
- 8:03to my friend, his daughter. I think she has it.
- 8:08She leaves her curtains open all the time.
- 8:10Whoa, whoa, yes, whoa. Yeah.
- 8:16Where's the flag? Yeah, it goes.
- 8:17Bring out the flags. Time out, Yes?
- 8:21What, over your own daughter in the car?
- 8:24Like normal conversation? It's fine, right?
- 8:28So my friend awkwardly laughed it off, but I couldn't really
- 8:31tell if she was as uncomfortable as I was.
- 8:35He also told the story of how he met his wife and was making a
- 8:38lot of sexual remarks about my friend's mom.
- 8:40And I get it, he's attracted and in love with her, but I really
- 8:43don't want to hear about how great her mom's ass is.
- 8:46Calm down bro. And then we got back to her
- 8:49house because we wanted to hang out more and I wanted to play
- 8:51with her ferrets. So I'm sure my other daughter
- 8:53will be very happy that somebody owned ferrets.
- 8:55She really wants ferrets. Oh my goodness.
- 8:58Her dad asked me if I was hungry and I said no because I ate a
- 9:01lot of food already. He made a comment about my
- 9:03stomach and pinched it. My shirt was cropped a little so
- 9:06he ended up touching my bare stomach.
- 9:10I will fight him. I will fight him.
- 9:12Let's take it outside. We're not done.
- 9:15Then when he and my friend were driving me home, we drove by a
- 9:18shopping center by my neighborhood and out of the blue
- 9:20he pointed out a massage place and said quote that's a happy
- 9:24ending massage parlor. You can tell because the windows
- 9:27are tinted black and it's open until 10:00 PM.
- 9:31Is he serious? Is he so for he's being so
- 9:34obvious with it too? It's just disgusting behavior.
- 9:37Disgusting. So I don't know why he felt the
- 9:39need to point that out. So am I overreacting for feeling
- 9:42uncomfortable? I don't know if I should bring
- 9:44it up to my friend because what can she do about it anyway?
- 9:47And she goes back to college next week anyways.
- 9:50So before you respond there's a quick one sentence update she
- 9:53said. So I talked to my friend and she
- 9:55said that's just how he and her family is.
- 9:58No, no. He's making you think that this
- 10:01is normal. It's not normal.
- 10:03Yep. You can be groomed by your
- 10:04family. You can't.
- 10:05OK, Lord knows you can. Yeah.
- 10:07So are you kidding? Have these conversations.
- 10:10Around young women, 'cause they're 18, but they are tech,
- 10:14they're they're girls. I mean they're like new aid that
- 10:16brand new adults like. But to have these conversations
- 10:20and for her to think that it's normal has been happening her
- 10:23whole life, her whole life. That's mad and appropriate.
- 10:27Yes, Oh God, to go out of your way to bring up these overtly
- 10:32sexual and inappropriate things with these girls.
- 10:35Thank you. I I hope.
- 10:38Nothing else has happened. God, but I can't even bet on the
- 10:41fact that it hasn't. Like I'm going to assume it has
- 10:43because at this point every sign is pointing in that direction.
- 10:46And he's doing this with her now, not just his daughter, to
- 10:51kind of like, test the waters, see maybe how far I can go
- 10:55before yada, yada, yada. It's like, no, no, no.
- 10:59I will be telling my parents too, that part.
- 11:02Go home and tell them, yeah, no, I will be a snitch in that
- 11:04situation because that is mad inappropriate.
- 11:07You should. You should.
- 11:09So no, you're not overreacting. This is not normal.
- 11:12And yes, if you would like to tell your parents, please do.
- 11:15Please do God, I'm like sweating because why?
- 11:19Why are people like this? That is your family.
- 11:22You should feel safe with your family, you know.
- 11:25You should, but this country in this world is having a reckoning
- 11:28right now about how we do and don't take care of our children.
- 11:31So I think I thought this was a good conversation to have. 100%
- 11:35Oh God girl. OK, so Spotify decided to do
- 11:41something really interesting. They partnered up with Liquid
- 11:44Death, the weirdest water name ever.
- 11:47It sounds like it's like a monster or something, but it's
- 11:49not. And it looks like beer.
- 11:50Yeah, it looks like it, but they decided to partner up and create
- 11:54a urn. If you could please move to my
- 11:56screen. This is the urn and it is the
- 12:00eternal playlist Earn. And essentially you can make
- 12:03your own playlist about what songs you want to play for your,
- 12:08I don't know, beyond the grave, I guess.
- 12:10To your ashes. Yeah.
- 12:11It's like your soundtrack to your death, essentially.
- 12:14Absolutely. OK, but all right, shout out, I
- 12:19guess it's already sold out, by the way, and it's a collector's
- 12:21item, so I don't think they're going to be, you know, producing
- 12:23these again. But it really got me thinking
- 12:26like about which songs I would want to play in my eternal
- 12:29playlist. You can you can go to Spotify's
- 12:31generator and like they'll make a playlist for you.
- 12:33You got to ask a couple questions, like what's your
- 12:35eternal vibe, yada, yada, yada. I don't know, boring.
- 12:38But I feel like you should be able to pick for yourself.
- 12:40And it got me thinking about what songs.
- 12:42So I decided let's pick a couple songs but I want to go first
- 12:45because I love music. So my first song Time by Hans
- 12:50Zimmer if y'all know Christopher Nolan Inception wonderful movie.
- 12:55Please go watch it if you haven't.
- 12:57But Time by Hans Zimmer is perfection.
- 12:59Yes, all the way. Through no one can say anything
- 13:02about this song. No lyrics, just emotions,
- 13:04perfection. I'd already knew.
- 13:06I mean, if I had to guess, this would definitely be on the list.
- 13:09Yeah, and I think I know another one, but we'll see.
- 13:11I see. I was, I know, I know what
- 13:13you're thinking, but I may have surprised you.
- 13:16Second one, Exit Music for a film by Radiohead.
- 13:21Quality song right there. Quality.
- 13:24I feel like if I'm going to like go out in a blaze of glory or
- 13:26anything, I want to go walk into a fire or whatever.
- 13:30Everything goes up into flames. Like this is how I want to go.
- 13:32Out. Well, that's kind of how you'd
- 13:34went out if you're in an urn. You think you're funny?
- 13:41I do that. Was pretty good, and I got #3 on
- 13:46The Nature of Daylight by Match Richard.
- 13:49It's really, really good. It was on the movie Arrival.
- 13:51Do you remember that? Yes, yeah, at the end.
- 13:55Great, great song. Also, no lyrics, just emotion,
- 13:58just vibes. It's just vibes.
- 14:00So, so good. And then a little edgier, Five O
- 14:035 by Arctic Monkeys, OK. OK.
- 14:07Yes, OK. And this might be a little
- 14:09cheesy, but I listened to the song once, 505, driving through
- 14:13the 505, Albuquerque, NM at 5:05 PM and I wish I could say I was
- 14:20joking, but I was fangirling in the backseat and no one knew
- 14:22that it was like a big moment. I was like this.
- 14:24You're like, this is everything. I actually love that for you.
- 14:29Thank you. It's an accomplishment.
- 14:32And the last one is, if I can go a little death by the
- 14:36neighborhood. Poetic.
- 14:38That's a good one. Yeah, yeah.
- 14:39So that's where I'm 5I. Don't hate that, right?
- 14:43Well, when you first told me about this, I was thinking this
- 14:45was everybody else would hear my playlist if they were looking at
- 14:49my urn. I didn't think that it was like
- 14:50my eternal playlist yours, but I kind of also like it.
- 14:55But I really want everybody else.
- 14:56That's why I pick my 5 based on everybody else being able to
- 14:59listen to my songs. OK, wait, I'm curious now.
- 15:02OK, so you can go to mine. So my first one is what are you
- 15:06going to do when you're not saving the world?
- 15:08Also, Hans Zimmer. It's from the Man of Steel
- 15:10score. We nerd out to movie scores.
- 15:13So sorry. Yeah.
- 15:15Oh, well, very epic. Very.
- 15:17Yeah. You'll feel it.
- 15:19You know, we got to love this album.
- 15:22This lithium. Lithium, lithium.
- 15:25OK, so I choose these based on my 5 personalities.
- 15:28OK. So if you if you know these
- 15:30songs, it should make sense to you.
- 15:35So next XO my Beyoncé love me some XO it makes me cry every
- 15:40single time I hear it. Spodi OD Dopalicious by Outkast
- 15:45that love me some of. That right, it just feels like
- 15:49you're in the club. The lights are way.
- 15:51Down, yes, smoke, smoke in there.
- 15:55Moody lights. Yeah, this is my chill person.
- 15:58That's it. Lives inside me.
- 16:00And then Last Creep by Radiohead, naturally.
- 16:04Naturally. Those are really good picks,
- 16:05actually. Thank you.
- 16:06I wanted everybody else to vibe. I didn't realize that this was
- 16:09my eternal, like, forever. It's just for you.
- 16:11I mean, you're dead. I feel like this is the last
- 16:13thing that you have for you. Yeah.
- 16:19I give you guys permission to take the lid off of my urn and
- 16:22play it for yourself, because if you look at the lid, that's
- 16:25where the speaker is. Hold on.
- 16:27Yes. Yeah.
- 16:29That is exactly where the speaker is, if we can go back to
- 16:31mine, yeah. So he can take it off and that's
- 16:34where the speaker is. And so I'm like, you know, just
- 16:36take it off. Just don't spill me exactly
- 16:38everywhere. And then you can vibe out to my
- 16:40playlist. That's you know what?
- 16:42I respect that. I respect that.
- 16:44Thank you. Thank you.
- 16:47Super weird, but also I want to hear y'all's five.
- 16:49Just give us five in the comments down below.
- 16:51I'm really, really, really curious to see what type of
- 16:54songs people were going into. Like that forever.
- 16:57Yeah. For the rest of your life.
- 16:59So make it good. In the afterlife, your forever
- 17:01playlist. Yeah, OK, so next BuzzFeed was
- 17:07asking their readers what is the pettiest reason that you've
- 17:11broken up with somebody and the pettiest reason that you've been
- 17:14broken up with? And so we went through the list
- 17:17and we picked some of our favorites.
- 17:18Yes, because you know, we love pettiness here 'cause.
- 17:21I mean we live on the line of petty cause life wouldn't be fun
- 17:25if we weren't petty. So you can go to my screen,
- 17:28please. So I have all of them, but we
- 17:31but we went back and forth and chose, you know, which ones were
- 17:33our favorite. So this we're going through
- 17:35yours first. Oh.
- 17:36We're going through mine. 1st so this is this was yours right?
- 17:41So it's basically said his eyes clicked when he blinked.
- 17:44Now just thinking about like it was doll like a doll like
- 17:52imagine if every time you play. So if we're sitting next to each
- 17:57other and it's all quiet. I would think like a camera
- 18:02shutter is going on because. I cannot.
- 18:05I would also break up with somebody if their eyeballs
- 18:08clicked. Oh my God.
- 18:10I'm sorry, but no. And the picture of Chucky makes
- 18:14it so much better because my platter.
- 18:16Yes. Thank you for the example.
- 18:19I appreciate that. Yeah.
- 18:21So that doesn't seem petty to me at all.
- 18:23This is lifelong we're talking about.
- 18:25OK. I watched her run to catch a
- 18:27bus. She had a weird run.
- 18:28Valid. Also very valid.
- 18:30Because what happens if we have to break out into a run and
- 18:33we're around other people, and now I have to defend you because
- 18:36you run weird? Yeah.
- 18:37I should feel comfortable knowing that you won't embarrass
- 18:40me, that you know how to function your two legs.
- 18:42Like, like, let's go. We have some place to get to,
- 18:46and you're running all weird and shit.
- 18:47Like, let's go real. All right, So she took the last
- 18:55slice of pizza. He couldn't live his entire life
- 18:58with someone who would always take the last slice.
- 19:01See, it's not just about the slice.
- 19:03He's not talking about the slice.
- 19:05That's valid. Actually.
- 19:06I actually really, really understand this one because that
- 19:08means you're not going to choose me.
- 19:12Yeah. You know, essentially.
- 19:16OK so there was 2 on this one. On our first date she wore the
- 19:18same perfume that my mom always wore when my parents would go
- 19:21out. I just couldn't UN smell that
- 19:23she was really pretty but she smelled like my mom.
- 19:25Valid. So, and I'm glad that that was
- 19:27like a immediate turn off for you because if you were like,
- 19:29regardless, now I have some questions.
- 19:32Exactly. I actually like you because you
- 19:34smell like my mom. OK, wait, we have problems.
- 19:40I broke up with a girl when I was, like, 21 because she lived
- 19:43too far away. It was a 20 minute drive.
- 19:45So you're lazy. That was.
- 19:47I don't like that one. I don't like that one.
- 19:49That one's so stupid. Because that that one that goes
- 19:52into the petty, ridiculous side. Yeah. 20 minutes.
- 19:54You just didn't like her. You just.
- 19:56Yeah. Not enough to drive 20 minutes.
- 19:59All right. Oh, my God.
- 20:01This was my favorite. She over enunciated the T
- 20:03inexactly. Exactly.
- 20:07Oh. That's valid.
- 20:10That's felt exactly because if I have to tune into your teeth
- 20:14every time I talk to you with this can't work no, and also she
- 20:20was very affirm. She would give affirmations
- 20:22while he was talking. So you're saying what you're
- 20:24saying and she's like. Exactly.
- 20:26And I'm like exactly my face. I would not.
- 20:31Like should I can't handle that? No.
- 20:35So I once broke up a guy because he always had visible boogers.
- 20:38Valid. 100% is just coming at me every time you breathe, you
- 20:43said. Coming at I don't like this
- 20:44motions, I don't like this motions, neither do.
- 20:47I blow your nose. Because if you've got like
- 20:51boogers your nose, you've got ear wax in your ears, crust on
- 20:56your ankles, you know what I mean?
- 20:57Like I don't know what you mean, no.
- 21:02I'm saying like you're a dirty person.
- 21:03Yes, If you can't clean the boogers out of your nose, then
- 21:06you can't do anything else. Dirt, nails, dirty everything
- 21:09else. Yeah.
- 21:09I thought you were going to say it.
- 21:10I'm not going to. I'm not.
- 21:13I'm a producer. Says I can't say it.
- 21:16Oh, I can't. Please.
- 21:17Dirty nails, dirty Dick. I was ready.
- 21:25Thanks for Tiffany Haddish for that one.
- 21:27But yes, I fully believe that. I Well, you know, it's only
- 21:33science. Clean your nails.
- 21:34That's what's under there. That part.
- 21:39All right, I broke up with a guy because he always chewed with
- 21:41his mouth open. Now, listen to me.
- 21:43Yes, very, very clearly. I would break up with everybody.
- 21:46Yeah, we wouldn't be. Friends, we no, I can't handle
- 21:49that. Can't not smacking and smacking.
- 21:52Oh my God. And also, I know you can hear
- 21:54that. I hate that I can excuse people
- 21:57who have like earphones in or like headphones or whatever and
- 22:01they can't hear themselves. But if you sit in there making a
- 22:04whole orchestra. Why are you eating?
- 22:08You hear that? I have a violent reaction to
- 22:10people who eat with their mouth open, like I actually tense up.
- 22:15I can't handle it because that's the rudest thing I feel like you
- 22:18can do when you're around other people eating just one. 100%
- 22:22because you're so inconsiderate you don't care.
- 22:24No, I don't want to see that or hear it.
- 22:27Bye. So yes, my date once time one
- 22:29time pulled up blasting a Lindsay Lohan CD.
- 22:32He was 47 and it just gave me the ick.
- 22:36What if you was a whole vibe? I don't blame him.
- 22:39She wasn't having it. I don't think that's fair.
- 22:43No, I don't think it's fair either.
- 22:45But for her, it wasn't it. Wow, I'm on his side.
- 22:49I'm sorry, I'm on Lindsay. Lohan.
- 22:50He finally had the courage to love what he wanted to love out
- 22:54in the open. That's why people don't want to
- 22:55believe. That's what I'm saying, yeah.
- 22:58Yeah, I'm on his side. He.
- 23:00Didn't even know why she broke up with him.
- 23:02Yeah, so he had the same name as my dad.
- 23:05I could deal with it for a while, but when he started
- 23:06calling me sweetheart, which my dad does, it got weird.
- 23:09Yeah. Nope.
- 23:10Nope, Nope. Yeah, no, valid.
- 23:14That is very valid. I cannot because now I can't
- 23:16distinguish the two people. And you say, sweetheart?
- 23:19Nope. So no for me.
- 23:21Yeah, it's like the perfume. Yeah, can't do that.
- 23:24Can't. And I think this is the last
- 23:26one. My girlfriend broke up with me
- 23:28so she wouldn't miss the finale of Golden Girls.
- 23:32Was it a? The valley question he said how
- 23:35old is he? It doesn't matter cuz I will
- 23:37watch Golden girls. I've been watching it since I
- 23:39was a child. I will always watch an episode
- 23:41now and it's on TV. Young people are watching it.
- 23:45OK. Was it like a temporary breakup
- 23:47Like I'll break up with you for the evening for the finale and
- 23:50then we'll get back together. I don't think she liked him and
- 23:52that was her excuse. Dang, yeah.
- 23:54She was just like, actually, I need to wash my hair and watch
- 23:57The Golden Girls. Like, you know, sometimes TV is
- 24:02that important. Golden Girls is amazing.
- 24:03Yeah. They're a vibe.
- 24:06Yeah. But we thought that that was
- 24:07hilarious. And we also want to know what
- 24:10your petty experience was with breakups.
- 24:12Have you been broken up in a petty way?
- 24:14Have you broken up with somebody?
- 24:15In a petty way, because sometimes you just got to reach
- 24:18for an excuse like she did. Exactly.
- 24:20Put it in the comments. We got to know we got it out all
- 24:23right, so we have another story. This one's really interesting.
- 24:26If we go to my screen, we have two babies on screen.
- 24:31So on January 31st in New York, 2 babies were born within hours
- 24:36of each other, completely different sizes.
- 24:39We've got baby on the. Right, like those are both one
- 24:43day old babies. Our producers just laugh and
- 24:46like. OK, so baby on the right parents
- 24:50are Tarika and Sean. This baby is Sean Junior, born
- 24:54at 13 lbs. I don't even I what?
- 24:57Record-breaking for the hospital, 13 lbs.
- 25:01He's a three month old. Already, so we just skipped
- 25:04months 1 and 2. Straight to three.
- 25:06Months that's I don't appreciate that you're so.
- 25:09He's so big, he's so Chucky and good for Tariq.
- 25:13Was Tarika for Mama? For making that.
- 25:16Happen. OK girl, you're amazing.
- 25:17You got that baby out. OK, what efficiency?
- 25:21And then that other baby looks so small compared.
- 25:23Yes, baby on the left. The parents are Chloe and
- 25:26Victor, 4 lbs. Oh my gosh.
- 25:30But honestly, I think this is so sweet because people are like,
- 25:33my baby is going to be this, my baby is going to be that.
- 25:35It's like never say exactly how it's going to go.
- 25:38Experience and appreciate the experience of being pregnant,
- 25:42having your child, growing up with your child.
- 25:45Doing all these things like don't, you can never guess.
- 25:49You don't know who they're going to be.
- 25:50You can assume you know, but I know they didn't assume they
- 25:54were going to give birth to a 13 LB.
- 25:56They thought they were going to be big.
- 25:57I saw in the article. Yeah.
- 25:59They're like 13 lbs. Ciao.
- 26:02You said I'm here for everything.
- 26:04Yeah, he's already eating solid food.
- 26:07Seriously. No, I was.
- 26:10Like I know you lied. I am, but damn, that's a big
- 26:16baby. Respectfully, we love you, baby.
- 26:18You're so cute. So cute.
- 26:20Exactly. We read an article about
- 26:24Jennifer Fitzgerald. Her ex boyfriend's name is
- 26:27Brandon Proveau. So he abandoned a car registered
- 26:30in her name at the Chicago O'Hare airport right for 2 1/2
- 26:35years and it racked up $106,000 in parking tickets in her name.
- 26:43My. God.
- 26:45I could not believe it because it didn't say so in the article,
- 26:49but it really seemed like he did it being petty.
- 26:51Yes. Like they were breaking up.
- 26:53And so he bought a car from her uncle for $600.00 and then just
- 26:58abandoned it at the airport and let it rack up over $100,000
- 27:03worth of that is evil. So evil.
- 27:05That's evil because she couldn't pay it and her car, her license
- 27:09got revoked. Oh, no, yeah, because that's on
- 27:12your Oh, that's evil. And she had no idea the idea
- 27:16that he had put it in her name either.
- 27:17And so she didn't even know there was a car that existed out
- 27:20there that was abandoned. And she's getting these notices
- 27:23and she can't pay it. She can't get out there because
- 27:26she, I think they said she was a single mom and she was
- 27:28unemployed at the time. And then now you took away her
- 27:30license. So she can't even get to work
- 27:32she can't do. Anything, he said.
- 27:33I'm a ruin your life. For breaking up a me exactly.
- 27:36And so if you don't mind going to my media, there is that's the
- 27:40car abandoned at the airport, just sitting there racking up
- 27:44tickets. And so after a while, she was
- 27:47able to get a pro bono attorney. And this is him here.
- 27:50And that's Jennifer. And they went to court.
- 27:53They were fighting for her to not have to pay this amount.
- 27:56Amen. And they're, what they were
- 27:59saying was that, first of all, Brandon should be responsible.
- 28:01He bought the car. And you did this on purpose and
- 28:04parked it there. Exactly.
- 28:05And then #2 why did the city write so many tickets to begin
- 28:09with? Like, why not write a few And
- 28:11then have it towed? It took 2 1/2 years for them to
- 28:14tow it, and they kept writing tickets on it.
- 28:17Yeah. Why exactly?
- 28:19So that was their argument. And so they went round and round
- 28:22and round. She still has to pay for these
- 28:25parking tickets. They made it so she has to pay
- 28:27$44170. Still, I don't like that.
- 28:30Not at all. But there is a silver lining,
- 28:34which is because Brandon has to pay the down payment of $1600
- 28:38and then she has a payment plan. But what's?
- 28:41Stinks is that it's like a $78 per month for three years and
- 28:45then she gets her license back, right?
- 28:46And I'm like, so I have to wait three years to be able to get my
- 28:49for something I didn't even do for my license back.
- 28:51So I'm still suffering over something that I didn't do.
- 28:54Yep. And the boyfriend?
- 28:55The lousy 1600 dollars. Oh, he was pissed about it
- 28:59though. He was like, I don't, I'm going
- 29:00to have. To pay back.
- 29:00Oh you're mad? Exactly.
- 29:02I love how you're mad about this situation.
- 29:04As if you didn't park the car there.
- 29:05And do this on purpose. You know what?
- 29:07Yeah, I'll. So I know we like petty, but
- 29:09only like when we like the person we don't like.
- 29:13It's like, if it's like harmless, if it's harmless, I'm
- 29:17there for it, you know, but like.
- 29:18This is really hurting her. And she's got kids, Dude, I
- 29:23know. I don't like that.
- 29:25That one was nasty. Yeah.
- 29:26But I'm glad she was able to get her attorney.
- 29:28Thank goodness that this attorney came in and pro bono
- 29:30was able to fight this for her because $106,000 is a lot
- 29:34different than $4400. Absolutely.
- 29:36Yeah. Shout out to him.
- 29:38I'm sorry this happened to you, girl.
- 29:39He dodged a. Bullet, you did.
- 29:41Thank God, my God, hopefully those kids aren't his so she can
- 29:45just leave. We got the yeah.
- 29:48Thank you. All right, let's bring it right
- 29:51back to the reddits. Yours favorite thing always.
- 29:54You guys are only here for the reddits.
- 29:55Don't act like I can't read. Y'all all right Reddit
- 29:58traumatize them back. I woke up and chose coffee with
- 30:02a dash of vengeance for my dad. Oh I'm here for it.
- 30:05What's that? I lived with my parents after
- 30:07college for a while. It wasn't a great time,
- 30:09especially since my dad is a unique sort of unbearable.
- 30:12That's a lot like water torture. Many, many little instances
- 30:16adding up to drive you absolutely mad.
- 30:19For example, he'd always wake up early and unload the dishwasher
- 30:23loudly and wake everyone up. If you were making coffee, he'd
- 30:26corner you and ask you why you're in a bad mood, even if
- 30:28you haven't said anything yet. He never washed his hands after
- 30:31the bathroom. He would touch your stuff like
- 30:33your laptop without permission. If you were cooking, he'd hover
- 30:37and make bad suggestions, steal ingredients you just prepped,
- 30:40and even turn to temperature knobs to what he thought was
- 30:43right, even if he wasn't cooking.
- 30:45Wait, what? I thought you're.
- 30:47Talking about temperature of the house.
- 30:48So he'd come behind you and change?
- 30:50Yes, and change it. This is what it needs to be.
- 30:54I once almost had a grease fire because I was making French
- 30:57fries and he got between me and the oil pot as it was bubbling
- 31:00over after he turned up the gauge and he wouldn't get out of
- 31:03the way. Then he'd comment on how I did
- 31:06that and I should be more careful.
- 31:08Oh, and since I was very young, he'd blast Descriptive and
- 31:11Violet NPR in the morning with news of bombings that would make
- 31:15me crying since single digits. Oh my God.
- 31:18As I said, lots of little things that added up to just being
- 31:20really done with it. One morning I was waking up at
- 31:24like 5:00 AM by the dishwasher being unloaded.
- 31:27You can do. This at any other time, that's
- 31:28my thing. Like. 5:00 AM Let's go my.
- 31:30God bro, I don't know what happened to me that particular
- 31:33morning, but that was the day I woke up and chose vengeance.
- 31:37I heard the coffee grinder, flung the blankets off myself
- 31:39and came out. He was in the corner making his
- 31:41coffee perfect. I walked up unnecessarily close
- 31:45in the same way he always did and asked why are you in a bad
- 31:48mood? He was confused.
- 31:50He said he wasn't in a bad mood, but just like him, I didn't buy
- 31:53it. I said no, no, no, I can tell
- 31:55you're in a bad mood. What's up, dude?
- 31:58He was quite unsettled by the time his coffee was done, but I
- 32:01wasn't done. A little later I went out to
- 32:04where he was with the litter box and I cleaned it in front of
- 32:06him. Then, without washing my hands,
- 32:09I went to his chair and started picking his stuff up.
- 32:11His phone, his napkin, his remote control.
- 32:14He was like the hell. Oh my God, and.
- 32:17I was like, what? I thought we didn't wash our
- 32:18hands in this house. Why are you upset?
- 32:21I love her. Then I put on a murder podcast
- 32:25about a woman who had her bits cut off with piano wires full
- 32:28volume. He wasn't a fan.
- 32:30Then he made lunch. I went to the kitchen the second
- 32:33I heard cooking noises and immediately stole half a tomato.
- 32:36He just cut and ate it. He looked annoyed but kept
- 32:39going. Then when he turned the burner
- 32:41on and went to the fridge I turned it off behind his back.
- 32:44He turned it back on and I told him his steak cooks better when
- 32:47on cold pans and he should turn it off.
- 32:49He looked at me like I was crazy.
- 32:51I returned the same look. By the time he he sat down with
- 32:54his subpar lunch, he started crying.
- 32:56What he started crying, he started crying.
- 33:00I'd never seen him cry before except for when my family dog
- 33:03died when I was like 7. I told him I'm just doing to him
- 33:06what he does all the time and maybe if he's crying by noon he
- 33:10should consider adjusting how he treats others.
- 33:12There you go. I called a therapist that day
- 33:14right after I made him cry and made myself an appointment.
- 33:17Vengeance was sweet, but I didn't want to have to act like
- 33:19him to make him see reason. All in all, I don't regret it.
- 33:23He got a tape case of his own medicine and couldn't take it.
- 33:25He realized if he cried over receiving the same treatment as
- 33:28me, maybe I wasn't crazy. And it was actually pretty
- 33:31terrible. I know it all sounds pretty
- 33:33benign and stuff, but adding together those little things
- 33:36became a very big thing that I've been dealing with daily
- 33:38since childhood. Returning the energy was
- 33:41satisfying as a one time thing. Wow.
- 33:45I know. I mean, it's the fact that he
- 33:47cried for me. Yeah.
- 33:49Like, OK, for just a couple of hours of the treatment that you
- 33:53give and he, it's like he didn't even recognize it.
- 33:55Like she had to even tell him. Like he was probably sitting
- 33:58there like she's tripping. She's tripping.
- 33:59It's like you don't recognize your own behavior, things that
- 34:02you do on a daily. I feel like you should know.
- 34:04I am shocked, I know. But the fact, why is he like
- 34:08that? Like why are you in the kitchen
- 34:10with me? Why?
- 34:10Are you meddling and doing all this stuff like almost made me
- 34:14have a grease fire because you meddle with my heat?
- 34:16Don't touch my nozzles. If I'm cooking, no.
- 34:19It's on site. It's on site.
- 34:20And then to be like, be care, be more careful.
- 34:23Be more careful. Like it's my fault.
- 34:24Excuse me? Yeah.
- 34:26And I actually love that she did that.
- 34:29But I also love that she was self aware enough to be like,
- 34:32this was fun for once, but let me do the work.
- 34:36So I don't exactly. Because to to immediately go
- 34:41there and be like, I'm going to do every little thing that he
- 34:43does to me. Yeah, She woke up that morning.
- 34:46She said, you know what, I'm done.
- 34:49Yeah, this is happening. You've pushed me.
- 34:52And you would think that she would have had to do it for a
- 34:54few days. She did it one hour and he's
- 34:57crying. He's crying and he's never
- 34:59cried. But for a pet dying, Oh, he
- 35:02needs to toughen up. I know because if you can dish
- 35:05it. OK, heavy on that part.
- 35:08Heavy on that part. Wow, I know that's fun, right?
- 35:14OK, so mine is an update. Oh yes.
- 35:17So would I be the asshole for suing my friend when she didn't
- 35:20come to my wedding? I remember this.
- 35:22Yes, and so if you had don't know what I'm talking about,
- 35:25click the card right now. You can go watch it.
- 35:28But as a quick recap, this woman was having a destination wedding
- 35:33in Bali, Indonesia. She paid for her friends, both
- 35:36their flight and their hotel to go there to Bali to attend her
- 35:40wedding, and one of her close friends decided she was going to
- 35:44bring her husband with her. So she paid for her own
- 35:46husband's ticket. But when they got there, they
- 35:48didn't go to the wedding. They skipped it all together
- 35:51because they decided since they didn't have a honeymoon, they
- 35:54wanted to have one. Now that's the most amount of
- 35:58nerve I've ever seen from anyone ever.
- 36:00The audacity. Whoa, you took my money and had
- 36:03a honeymoon on my dime? OK, so that's your setup.
- 36:08All right, So I messaged Gemma, her friend per multiple
- 36:11comments, advising me to invoice her for the plane ticket and
- 36:14hotel room. But I did something a little
- 36:16better. I wanted to get proof so if I
- 36:19had to go to court, it would be easier to win.
- 36:21I messaged her this Hey, sorry for being so distant, but I just
- 36:25wanted to talk to you about Bally.
- 36:27I'm hurt that you didn't show up to the ceremony.
- 36:29I pulled a lot of strings to ensure that you could come, and
- 36:32then you didn't show up. Did you think I paid for the
- 36:34trip just so you could honeymoon with John?
- 36:37Nice set up. Yeah, she replied.
- 36:39I've missed you a lot, and I know the trip was for your
- 36:42wedding, but John didn't want to go because he felt like your
- 36:45wedding ruined the illusion of the trip being our honeymoon.
- 36:48That and that you'd understand. Pause.
- 36:51It was never your honeymoon. He's like, it's our honeymoon.
- 36:54That also happened to be your wedding, No?
- 36:56You paid for our honeymoon and I didn't want to ruin the illusion
- 37:00of that. I paid for y'all to come to my
- 37:03wedding. Are you?
- 37:04There's something wrong with you.
- 37:06And just because your husband, this is your friend, John didn't
- 37:09want to go. She said that in the original
- 37:10post. Yeah.
- 37:11John didn't want to go. No.
- 37:12Also, you agree to this. So take accountability as well.
- 37:15Yes, Oh my goodness you ruined the illusion, I replied.
- 37:20No, I don't understand, you took advantage of me and that's not
- 37:23what real friends do. So I'm sending you an invoice
- 37:26for $23187.53 for the cost of the plane ticket and hotel room.
- 37:32I will give you 30 days and after that I will be taking
- 37:35legal action. Period and Amen.
- 37:37I received no response but she's been posting subliminal quotes
- 37:40on Instagram that are along the lines of entitled friends and
- 37:42having snakes in your life. Honestly, people who do that,
- 37:46the little wig posting on Instagram and stuff, it's like,
- 37:49Oh my. God, grow up.
- 37:51If you got beef with me, just call me out up.
- 37:54I'm for the smoke. If you've got something to say,
- 37:57you're in the wrong. And yet you still got something
- 37:59to say. Yes.
- 38:00All right, so that was the first update.
- 38:02We got another. Have another.
- 38:04Okay, I didn't think this could get worse, but here we are.
- 38:08I didn't respond to any of the subliminal messages she posted
- 38:11about me on social media, and I've been very quiet while I've
- 38:14been getting my ducks in a row for the litigation.
- 38:17But this past Friday she sent me a three page audit of financial
- 38:20and emotional contributions from 2015 to the present.
- 38:24I wish I was fucking joking. Are you kidding me?
- 38:27The audits she itemized every dinner or lunch we've ate
- 38:31together, she estimated $18.00 per meal.
- 38:34Gas money for driving to and from Hangouts.
- 38:38A birthday gift from 2017 that she now claims she went into
- 38:41debt for. Time spent emotionally
- 38:43supporting me after my dad passed.
- 38:48She is the worst friend ever. Ever.
- 38:51She said she took on the role of grief counselor for me even
- 38:53though I talked to her on the phone about it once for 30
- 38:56minutes. You're kidding.
- 38:58One time she helped me move apartments.
- 39:01She wants to be paid for her labor.
- 39:03Seriously. And emotional distress caused me
- 39:06caused by me threatening litigation.
- 39:09This chick is something else. She's something her grand total
- 39:14$2412.09, which is conveniently within $25.00 of what I invoiced
- 39:19her for. She then told me if that were
- 39:22really keeping score that I actually owe her $24.56.
- 39:28That's whoa, this is whoa, whoa, let's break this down real quick
- 39:34because. She put in the effort for this,
- 39:36yes. She tallied up everything.
- 39:38Yeah. She pulled up her calendar and
- 39:40was like, we went to lunch this day.
- 39:41We went to lunch this day, 2015, yes.
- 39:44So 10 years worth of them, their friendship and every little
- 39:47thing that she did. That's insane.
- 39:50Yes. That's not mentally.
- 39:52Stable behavior right there. No.
- 39:54And I'd want to know what part John had it in this, because
- 39:56yeah, it's just feeling, feeling in interesting, I think.
- 40:00I stared at the document for 10 minutes in silence and shock
- 40:03from the audacity because this bitch is delusional.
- 40:06Okay, to clarify, I never asked her to cook for me while I was
- 40:12in college. She did pay for lunches but
- 40:15when? I definitely returned the favor
- 40:16big time once I graduated. I bought her many gifts over the
- 40:20years. I've let her stay at my house
- 40:21several times when she and John argued.
- 40:24That little Dick and I have also lended a shoulder for her to cry
- 40:28on when she had difficult times in the life.
- 40:30But apparently being a friend is now billable.
- 40:32OK, I decided to give the message a thumbs down because if
- 40:35I respond I will be extremely disrespectful with the anger I'm
- 40:38feeling. I cannot wait for these 30 days
- 40:40to be over because I will be suing the fuck out of her.
- 40:43Absolutely suing. We are going to take legal
- 40:46action. Why did I immediately start
- 40:49being like OK, let me make my billable friendship things now
- 40:55I'm going all the way back to 2015 including the wedding.
- 40:58My total is going to be bigger than your Twitter.
- 41:00So. Regardless, yes, she should do
- 41:02so. She's prepared.
- 41:03Just in case the off chance that the judge lets in her stuff and
- 41:07be like, oh, OK, we're letting that in.
- 41:08Well, here's all of mine and I'm still $2500.
- 41:11That part, yes, yeah, that would be my advice.
- 41:14Absolutely start. Tallying it up Emotional labor,
- 41:17building your. Friend for moving to form an
- 41:20LLC. Because I am not going to pay
- 41:23you for something that you offered.
- 41:27It's such. It's the audacity for me, for
- 41:29her being like, OK, yes, I used you for a free trip to Bali
- 41:34because all we did was pay for my husband to go right?
- 41:36And then I'm like, Oh well, in exchange for that, look at all
- 41:40this emotional labor that I I did for you and you owe me for
- 41:43that now. Like it was 1 sided exactly like
- 41:45the delulu of this. It's insane is insane.
- 41:50There's something seriously wrong with her and John back
- 41:52there just pulling the strings, you know, he.
- 41:55Is I don't like him, I don't like this.
- 41:57This smells weird. Take it to court, you know,
- 42:01total everything up just so you're prepared because this
- 42:04smells wrong. And then come back with another
- 42:06update because I'll be looking. Yeah, No, we need another.
- 42:09That's a great update. Great update.
- 42:12That's insane. The nerve Reddit.
- 42:16Today I effed up. Sorry but I love them.
- 42:18You love this one. I love them by nailing my first
- 42:21professional interview but instantly ruining it when the
- 42:24hiring manager asked about salary.
- 42:27For some context, I am a. Recent grad who just.
- 42:29Started applying for jobs. I managed to land my very first
- 42:33interview invite for an accounting role and I was
- 42:35absolutely terrified. I was so scared of the technical
- 42:38rounds and those annoying behavioral tell me about a time
- 42:41questions. Same.
- 42:43I wanted this job so badly so I spent the entire night locked in
- 42:46my room. I researched the hell out of the
- 42:48company's business model. I used an AI mock interview tool
- 42:51and found online to practice my star method answers over and
- 42:55over and over again. And so I stopped stuttering and
- 42:57sounding like a nervous wreck. Fast forward to today, the
- 43:00interview actually goes Florida State.
- 43:02The 1st 40 minutes are a total breeze.
- 43:05They hit me with the technical questions and I'm completely
- 43:07chill. I nailed the behavioral
- 43:09questions perfectly. The senior accounting manager
- 43:12interviewed me, is literally nodding, smiling, and seems
- 43:15genuinely impressed. I'm eternally screaming with joy
- 43:17thinking holy crap I'm actually going to get this job.
- 43:20Then comes the very end of the Zoom call.
- 43:23The vibe is great. He leans back, smiles warmly,
- 43:25and asks the final question. So the starting salary for this
- 43:29position is round 55K. Does that align with your
- 43:32expectations? And guess what?
- 43:34My brain just completely short circuited.
- 43:36Oh no, I have never negotiated a professional salary in my life.
- 43:40I haven't even had a real adult job yet.
- 43:42The adrenaline drops, sheer panic sets in and instead of a
- 43:45using a normal functioning adult response like yes that sounds
- 43:49reasonable or literally anything else, I look the senior manager
- 43:52dead in the eyes through the webcam and say I think so, but I
- 43:57would need to go and ask my mom first.
- 43:58I'll let her decide it for me, just.
- 44:02For a moment, just for a moment, wait.
- 44:04Just for a moment, let me go ask my mom first.
- 44:12Oh, I'm hiring a child. I forgot.
- 44:14OK, Kevin. Kevin.
- 44:20Kevin or besties. Besties.
- 44:22I need to go ask my mom first. I would kick your ass if you
- 44:27fucked up an interview like that to come ask me about salary and
- 44:31I thought a girl. I'll pause the meeting and.
- 44:34Be like, let me ask my mom real quick, don't go anywhere.
- 44:36Oh my God. I swear, this poor kid, these
- 44:41kids don't know what's going on, don't know anything.
- 44:43And he was. So stressed out that he like
- 44:45studied way beforehand over studies, but the one question
- 44:49that he didn't study for short circuit I got to go ask my.
- 44:53Mom bless you, honey. Aw, man.
- 44:57So the silence that. Followed was deafening.
- 44:59It felt like an eternity. His smile instantly vanished
- 45:02into a look of pure confusion and pity.
- 45:05He literally blinked twice, picked up his pen, wrote
- 45:07something down and said OK we will get in touch and zoom call
- 45:12ended exactly 30 seconds later. I'm currently hiding under my
- 45:15blankets questioning my entire existence.
- 45:18The preparation helped me beat the technicals, but clearly
- 45:21there is no amount of practice in the world that can cure my
- 45:23sheer stupidity when it comes to be put on the spot.
- 45:26Is there any chance that? They think I was joking.
- 45:28Or being quirky, will I get the position or am I completely
- 45:31cooked? Honey, you're cooked.
- 45:33You're cooked because. The reaction because what I was
- 45:37going to say was, hey, oh, that was a joke.
- 45:40Like laughing, like just giggle a little bit and they'd be like,
- 45:42oh, that was that was a joke. And then you could play silence
- 45:45and you're just staring at the street and the manager's like.
- 45:51Whoa. Well then.
- 45:52You need to go ask your mom. Let me go find.
- 45:54An adult for this job. Oh, that's the last thing you
- 45:58need. Poor thing.
- 45:59I know I feel really bad for this, really bad, but also.
- 46:02Your mom. Come on, honey, like probably
- 46:07has never. Gone to the doctor by themselves
- 46:08either. Oh no.
- 46:10See all these things that are? Just really disturbing because
- 46:13people in my generation, I don't know, like if they grew up the
- 46:17entire time with phones and with access to things and just never
- 46:20having to do things for themselves on top of parents who
- 46:23a lot of them are millennials are just like, I'll do
- 46:25everything for you. It's problematic.
- 46:28And it leads up to these kids. Not being able to do things
- 46:31individual, you know, like you and my dad, you guys forced us
- 46:36to go like if it was just like let's go pick up dinner or
- 46:38something, you guys wouldn't go pick up dinner.
- 46:40You'd send us to go pick up dinner.
- 46:42So we would have to tip the people we'd have to ask for we
- 46:44want, we had to remember the code, what name, yada, yada,
- 46:47yada. Like normal things in life.
- 46:50You guys started doing that really young, but it doesn't
- 46:52seem like this new generation, or at least my generation, did
- 46:56the same thing. And it's just disturbing because
- 46:58it's like you guys aren't prepared.
- 47:00You're being thrown out into the world, not knowing how to do
- 47:02anything. And I feel really bad for.
- 47:05Them, but I can't blame them fully No, because who taught
- 47:08you? If you were never taught and you
- 47:10never had to do that, then how would you know?
- 47:12And you go through your parents for everything, which I don't
- 47:15hate like depend like hey mom later, right?
- 47:21Is 55K good for this type of job?
- 47:23And then she could have told you your entry level is your first
- 47:25big person job. Yes, you're doing great sweetie,
- 47:28you know but no, you're like, I have to ask my mom to your mom.
- 47:34If I thought that in my head, you'd.
- 47:36Have to stab me to get that information.
- 47:38Yeah, yeah, yeah. Water board me.
- 47:39Yeah, I'm not going. To say that in an interview,
- 47:42this poor person. Oh my goodness.
- 47:44So this person, Kevin, all of them.
- 47:47Bless y'all. Yeah, keep writing into Reddit
- 47:50because I love. It I love it.
- 47:53Am I the asshole for ignoring our friend on our trip to
- 47:56Mexico? Oh, uh oh.
- 48:00So last year around this time. My friends and I planned a trip
- 48:03to Cancun to a resort and spa. We all wanted to drink, eat,
- 48:07dance and relax on the kid on the beach with no kids.
- 48:11Amen. 21 little kids. I'm the only one without kids so
- 48:17I was really looking forward to spending time with just my
- 48:19friends to unwind. Every other trip before this was
- 48:22planned with the kids, but this time there will be no early
- 48:25bedtimes, no crying, no screaming, no sand in our drinks
- 48:29because the kids thinks it's funny to throw sand.
- 48:31Excuse me, I guess one week before the trip one of the
- 48:36friends said she's bringing her 10 year old.
- 48:39This woman can never tell her kid no.
- 48:41We had all warned her beforehand that if this happens we aren't
- 48:45going to change anything. To say I was annoyed was an
- 48:48understatement, but I sucked it up.
- 48:50I still had two friends. We were going child free and had
- 48:52no intention of changing any plans.
- 48:54My two other friends and I drank.
- 48:56We ate amazing food, we danced all night and spent the days at
- 48:59the beach. The friend with the kid
- 49:01expressed her frustration about the rest of us doing what we
- 49:04wanted while she couldn't. Excuse me?
- 49:07Seems like it's your problem, yeah?
- 49:08My response was pretty much well that sucks, but we're not going
- 49:12to. Change the entire point of this
- 49:13trip just because of your inability to tell your kid no,
- 49:16period. We invited her to do what we
- 49:19were doing multiple times, but her response was always I can't.
- 49:22My kid wants to do this thing. Yeah, so there was definitely
- 49:27tension between the three of us and her the entire trip.
- 49:30When we were making our long way back home, all three of us got a
- 49:33nasty message from her fiance calling us bad friends and how
- 49:37dare we not revolve our entire trip around her and their kid
- 49:40that she had a terrible time and that it was our fault.
- 49:44No, it's the kids fault. Your fault.
- 49:46It's your fault that you brought the kid.
- 49:48This was a single trip, me and the girls.
- 49:53You decided to ruin it for yourself by bringing your child.
- 49:55That is not my problem. I was like, pardon.
- 49:59Three question marks. That was pretty much the last
- 50:04straw for me. Now I never tell my friends how
- 50:06to parent their children, but their daughter is so nasty.
- 50:09She is spoiled and like I stated earlier, has never been told no.
- 50:13So you can understand how entitled this kid is.
- 50:16My other friends have a lot more reasonable children.
- 50:19Their children are polite, have a general understanding about
- 50:22boundaries, and they behave really well for 8 to 10 year
- 50:24olds. My text back to him was pretty
- 50:26much we made these plans a year in advance, expecting us to be
- 50:30fine with the fact that you guys dropped it on us that your child
- 50:33was coming one week before we were leaving, and then expecting
- 50:36us to change everything and cancel all of our plans because
- 50:38you guys can't tell your kid no is not fair to us at all.
- 50:42That's a you problem, not ours. Period.
- 50:45I'd understand if. Something came up.
- 50:47And she had no choice but to bring her kid.
- 50:49Shit happens, people cancel, but that was not the case.
- 50:52Her fiance was home the entire time.
- 50:55Kidding. So the fiance wanted time alone.
- 50:57That's what this is about. And her grandmother was looking
- 51:00forward. To watching her granddaughter
- 51:02but her kid freaked out about not being allowed to go on the
- 51:05trip and they couldn't tell her no.
- 51:07My God. Now her fiance and her.
- 51:11Are super pissed. Were we in the wrong here?
- 51:13No. No, no, no, no, no.
- 51:15No, no, I enjoyed my trip. I loved my trip.
- 51:19Too bad. But to bring your kid and ruin.
- 51:22Everything that we said that we were going to do and then be mad
- 51:25because we already, we warned you, OK, if you're going to
- 51:27bring your kid, we're still going to do the stuff we had
- 51:30planned. And she's just like, well, my
- 51:33kid wants to go here. We'll go.
- 51:34We'll go with your kid. I'm going to have a Margarita on
- 51:37the beach. Yeah.
- 51:38A fan free Margarita. OK, I don't have my.
- 51:41Name on the birth certificate. I'm not married to you.
- 51:44I have no obligations to this child.
- 51:46No. So have fun.
- 51:49Go do your thing. Bye but to.
- 51:51Be like then to like complain to your fiance and they're texting
- 51:55me and my God, the audacity. I'm sure the fiance had fun at
- 51:59home alone by himself Yeah because he wasn't going to watch
- 52:02the kid no way it was going to grandparents exactly yeah Oh
- 52:05God. So we should be dissecting that
- 52:07problem. That's the issue here, yes, the
- 52:09fact that your. I don't know.
- 52:12Free time is being affected because your fiance is not
- 52:15capable of taking care of your. Your child can't say no.
- 52:17That's another because you were supposed to go hang out with
- 52:20your grandmother, but when you found out I was going somewhere
- 52:22alone, you freaked out. Exactly.
- 52:24And then they let this child freak out and brought her yes,
- 52:27no no. No, that's a snowball thing.
- 52:30This child can apparently only rely on the mom.
- 52:33No, no, don't suffocate me. No, read it off my chest.
- 52:43Just a warning. I'm so sorry, my partner of 10
- 52:46plus years admitted he never loved me and was waiting out my
- 52:49fertile years. What?
- 52:52Oh, wait, yeah. Do I need my fan?
- 52:55Do I need your? Fan I going to.
- 52:56Overheat. Yes.
- 52:57That's why I said I'm sorry. OK, I'm already getting
- 52:59stressed. All right, all right.
- 53:01I'm 30. Six female, I met my now ex
- 53:04fiance in grad school in our mid 20s but we grew up together in a
- 53:07lot of ways. First time sharing an apartment
- 53:10with someone, first adult jobs, moving cities and getting
- 53:13engaged. He has a PhD in psychology which
- 53:16I used to think made him more in tune with emotions and I was so
- 53:19proud to be with someone like that.
- 53:21Now I feel sick that realizing how much he used it to his
- 53:24advance. That's what I'm saying.
- 53:25He weaponized that shit. Oh, I.
- 53:26Knew it OK so excited. I wanted kids and was open.
- 53:33About it from the beginning, he said he did too, but not yet.
- 53:36It was always some excuse. We're too busy with our
- 53:39dissertations. We just started new jobs.
- 53:41We should wait until we're more financially stable.
- 53:44Maybe if I got this promotion, maybe after we buy a house.
- 53:47There was, I thought, a valid reason to push it six months a
- 53:50year, which then became 2 years. I turned 36 not long ago.
- 53:54Oh my God, I know we. Were planning on going.
- 53:57Out for my birthday and got into a dumb arguing about where to
- 54:00eat. It was really stupid but we kept
- 54:02going back and forth for 5:00-ish minutes.
- 54:04Finally I said it's my birthday can we please just go where I
- 54:07want. Out of nowhere his face and tone
- 54:10went cold and he said I can't stand you anymore.
- 54:14I actively laughed because how dramatic and random it was.
- 54:17Then he said very calmly that he doesn't love me and that he
- 54:20doesn't even like me and never has I'm.
- 54:27I'm like, I don't understand. I'm just serious.
- 54:28Stuttering and shit. Literally.
- 54:29I don't understand. Why are you still with her
- 54:32exactly? Wait for it.
- 54:34I honestly thought he was only trying to hurt me in the moment
- 54:37in some sick way, but he kept going.
- 54:39He said he stayed with me because it was convenient, that
- 54:42he knew how badly I wanted kids, and that if he dragged things
- 54:45out for long enough I wouldn't have them with someone else.
- 54:49He would. He was.
- 54:51Talking about it almost like I was, it was some case study to
- 54:53him. He said he didn't want kids but
- 54:56he also didn't want me to have him with someone else.
- 54:58So he waited it out, I feel. I feel physically.
- 55:03Sick typing this out. 10 years of my life wasted becoming part
- 55:07of his family. I'm just.
- 55:11Waiting and engagement. Talking about.
- 55:14Baby names and then for him to say this whole time he was just
- 55:17trying to run out my fertility. I will allow you to speak before
- 55:20I go forward. Why?
- 55:23So you hated her period, but you didn't want anybody else to have
- 55:27her. Like let her go so she can have.
- 55:31This thing. So you really hate this woman?
- 55:34What a Dick. I know, I know.
- 55:38It gets worse though. No it doesn't.
- 55:39No. How does it get worse?
- 55:42Perhaps the worst. Part looking back I can see all
- 55:45this time the mind games and the red flags now.
- 55:48He'd tell me I was overacting whenever I was upset.
- 55:50He'd say I was projecting because of my own family issues
- 55:53or was my anxiety talking when he did.
- 55:55When I dared to question why we weren't moving forward, he
- 55:57always just made himself out to be some rational expert and made
- 56:00me constantly doubt my instincts.
- 56:02I got the hell out and moved into a new place two weeks
- 56:05later. Wow, I didn't tell many people
- 56:07to. Address at all.
- 56:08But since then I've been sent weird letters with no return
- 56:11address a couple of times. Not exactly threatening, just
- 56:14unsettling. One said quote.
- 56:16I hope you're reflecting. Another had a pair of baby socks
- 56:19in it. No motherfucker, no, no, no
- 56:23note. Just the socks.
- 56:26He's a terrorist, Invisible Man. He is a yes Invisible Man.
- 56:31He's a terrorist, Yes, this is evil.
- 56:35I've also gotten random. Gifts, a book about emotional
- 56:38resilience, and a black candle that smells like the one we had.
- 56:41Again, no sender. It's probably him.
- 56:44It sure feels like it. It's him.
- 56:45It's him. Maybe it's him wanting to feel
- 56:48like. He still has some kind of
- 56:49psychological hold over me. I feel not only heartbroken but
- 56:52also so violated, as if my reality for a decade wasn't
- 56:56real. Like my body and my mind were
- 56:58used in some experiments. I'm scared too not.
- 57:01In the immediate. Physical danger kind of way.
- 57:04At least I don't think so, but in a wondering what he's capable
- 57:07of kind of way. If he could casually admit that
- 57:10he stay with me to sabotage me becoming a mom, what else can he
- 57:13possibly justify? I keep replaying my past
- 57:16birthdays in my head all the times I said maybe next year we
- 57:19would start trying. I feel grief for the kids that
- 57:21don't even and may never exist because I don't think I can
- 57:24trust or get closer to anyone ever again.
- 57:27I don't even know why I'm posting this.
- 57:29Maybe to feel less crazy, or to remind myself that none of this
- 57:32is even close to normal. If anyone has been through an
- 57:35ordeal with someone who weaponized language or
- 57:37psychological tactics against you, I really like to hear how
- 57:40you got your sense of reality back.
- 57:41Right now I feel like I can't even count on my own mind
- 57:44anymore. See, that one was crazy.
- 57:48It like I'm not even. Like super mad anymore because I
- 57:52feel more bad for her because of what he took from her exactly
- 57:55like he took something that she really wanted and in that time
- 57:59like he did psyops on her if you guys are familiar with like
- 58:02military terms like he really got in her brain and messed
- 58:07everything up and then drug her along for so long that she
- 58:11probably it's more difficult to have children.
- 58:14He was waiting out her fertile. Fertile years and so for her to
- 58:17find. Somebody else and be able to,
- 58:19you know, get to the point where she wants to have forever and to
- 58:23want to do it after an experience like that.
- 58:25Exactly. He terrorized her on purpose.
- 58:29I wouldn't be surprised if he wrote a.
- 58:30Paper about it and tried to get it published like can we can we
- 58:35figure out what his deal is? Can we see his Diaries or
- 58:38whatever? Like honestly, there's something
- 58:40wrong with him. Thank you.
- 58:41There's something wrong with him because he's like, I don't even
- 58:44like you, but I don't want you having kids with anyone else.
- 58:47So I'm a wait it out but what? So why?
- 58:49Why can't? She you don't even like her.
- 58:51Exactly. Why can't she go and have
- 58:53children with somebody who, First of all, why can't she be
- 58:55happy? You want her to Because of the
- 58:57fact that he is the one preventing her from being happy
- 59:00is the thing that's getting him off.
- 59:01That's what I'm saying, he is a psycho.
- 59:03I don't know if. That's the correct term, a
- 59:05psychopath. But he if he murdered people on
- 59:08the side, I wouldn't be surprised.
- 59:09You know, because this is the same type of mentality.
- 59:12Yes. Wow, it is disturbing.
- 59:15How? Long.
- 59:16He held this on years. Disturbing 30.
- 59:19Six and then was just like you know I can't take this anymore.
- 59:22I don't even like you. I don't even like you that's
- 59:25insane. My only.
- 59:27Thing for her is that OK? You don't trust anyone that's.
- 59:31Fine. Continue to not trust anyone.
- 59:32I think that'll preserve your being Do it alone.
- 59:37If you really want kids, you're strong enough to do it.
- 59:39And girl, I know you're strong enough to do it alone.
- 59:42You can be an early parent for sure.
- 59:44You can, yeah. So do the IVF, like all of it.
- 59:47Like if you really, really want kids, which I know you do.
- 59:50My mind is blowing, I know. That's insane.
- 59:54That really broke my brain. I can't believe that he did that
- 59:56on purpose and to play that long of a game.
- 59:59I know that. Like, did he have somebody?
- 1:00:01On the side like. Did he have a girlfriend you
- 1:00:04know, he actually loved? Like, how do you do this?
- 1:00:06Because you're ruining your own life because you're with
- 1:00:08somebody that you don't even like.
- 1:00:11I am so confused. Yeah.
- 1:00:13Like what is the possible? Benefit of doing this to her,
- 1:00:16you know, insane. So I want an update on that one
- 1:00:20really absolutely for her. Like are you?
- 1:00:23OK, yeah, but she's getting like.
- 1:00:25Threatened in the mail. Totally forgot about that.
- 1:00:28The baby socks. The baby socks?
- 1:00:31Yeah. Where does he live?
- 1:00:32You need to send. Somebody like, do you have an
- 1:00:33uncle? Like a big uncle, you know, you
- 1:00:36know, just send. Them over his way.
- 1:00:37Like, if not, I know someone I could send them for you.
- 1:00:39That's right. That's right.
- 1:00:40Lord Yikes. I know.
- 1:00:43Jeez. Yeah.
- 1:00:44I mean. I know so like, upset.
- 1:00:48About that. OK, am I the asshole for calling
- 1:00:52out my aunt after finding out she lied about having cancer?
- 1:00:56See. Really.
- 1:00:59People own some. Shit, yeah, today.
- 1:01:01Oh my God. My aunt Kathy has a long history
- 1:01:04of health problems, but she also has a pattern of exaggerating
- 1:01:07them and blowing things way out of proportion.
- 1:01:10This has been going on for years.
- 1:01:12She frequently gets my grandparents worked up and
- 1:01:14stressed when they already have their own issues to deal with.
- 1:01:17She's on disability and can't drive because of a seizure
- 1:01:20disorder, so my grandpa often takes time off work to drive her
- 1:01:23to medical appointments. The problem is she'll guilt him
- 1:01:26into taking time off work and then either be still asleep when
- 1:01:29he arrives or tell him she cancelled the appointment
- 1:01:32because she just didn't feel well.
- 1:01:33Oh my God. Many of these are specialist
- 1:01:37appointments that took months to schedule.
- 1:01:39Seriously. Yeah.
- 1:01:41A few months ago, she. Called everyone in the family
- 1:01:43and told us that she had cancer and only had a few months to
- 1:01:46live. We were devastated.
- 1:01:48She asked for help making Funeral arrangements and spent
- 1:01:51hours on the phone with family discussing what kind of casket
- 1:01:54and headstone she wanted. Girl.
- 1:01:57So later I was talking to my grandpa and found out that he
- 1:02:00hadn't taken her to any cancer appointments because a friend
- 1:02:03had been driving her giving her history.
- 1:02:05I was suspicious. When I asked her what kind of
- 1:02:08cancer it was, she just said blood cancer.
- 1:02:11When I asked for more details, she said she didn't want to talk
- 1:02:13about it. Not long after that she had a
- 1:02:15severe seizure and was hospitalized.
- 1:02:18I went with my grandpa to visit her while she was heavily
- 1:02:21medicated. The doctor came in, my grandpa
- 1:02:23asked her, asked if her seizures were getting worse because of
- 1:02:26her cancer treatments, and the doctor responded.
- 1:02:29What cancer period? He checked her chart and.
- 1:02:33Said the only blood related issue he saw was iron deficiency
- 1:02:36anemia. Throw the sit down.
- 1:02:39Like doing too much. My grandpa didn't press the.
- 1:02:43Issue. After the doctor left I was
- 1:02:45furious. My grandpa told me to keep quiet
- 1:02:47and suggested maybe she misunderstood something.
- 1:02:50How do you misunderstand making Funeral arrangements and getting
- 1:02:53headstones and stuff? No, not intentional.
- 1:02:55He asked me not to bring it up. I.
- 1:02:58Decided to keep what we learned to myself to avoid upsetting my
- 1:03:00grandpa, but I started ignoring her calls because I knew I
- 1:03:04wouldn't be able to stay quiet if she brought up her cancer
- 1:03:06again. Recently she sent me a long text
- 1:03:09saying that she was hurt that I'd been ignoring her, and that
- 1:03:12I hadn't visited her in the hospital.
- 1:03:14She didn't Remember Me being there because she was meddling.
- 1:03:16Really heavily medicated. She also said she quote doesn't
- 1:03:20have much time left on this earth.
- 1:03:22Oh so you just go milk this huh? You milking this?
- 1:03:27I finally snapped. I told her what the doctor said
- 1:03:30at the hospital and that there was no record of cancer.
- 1:03:33I told her I needed space and that she needed mental health
- 1:03:36help for putting the whole family through months of stress
- 1:03:38and grief. I called my grandpa and he is
- 1:03:41furious with me for adding to her stress.
- 1:03:43Now I wonder now I wonder if I went too far.
- 1:03:47Does she have real physical and mental health issues and am I
- 1:03:50the asshole for calling her out? You're not.
- 1:03:54Yes, both. Yes and yes.
- 1:03:56They can both be true at the same time.
- 1:03:58I No, not at all. I'm thinking like she is getting
- 1:04:03older and people are going on with their lives without her.
- 1:04:07She's feeling lonely. She's feeling like people aren't
- 1:04:09paying enough attention to her. There was a couple things in
- 1:04:12there that that noted to that. She's like spent hours on the
- 1:04:16phone with them planning the trip.
- 1:04:18It was just about being on the phone with the family, people
- 1:04:22giving her attention again, all over again.
- 1:04:24She being the center of it. Exactly.
- 1:04:26That's what she. Wanted.
- 1:04:26I don't really think it's about being twisted.
- 1:04:28Interesting things. I don't think there's something
- 1:04:30wrong with her. I just think that she needed the
- 1:04:31attention the fact that she did this and went so extreme, that's
- 1:04:35where it becomes wrong. Absolutely.
- 1:04:36Why not just speak to people and be like, hey, till we set a
- 1:04:40Sunday where we go when we speak on the Zoom or whatever.
- 1:04:43Like I said the zoom like I was old.
- 1:04:45I said the zoom, speak on the zoom speak on the zoom.
- 1:04:51She's actually. 75, she looks great for her age, speak on the
- 1:05:03Zoom, the Zoom every Sunday. But no, she said, I have cancer.
- 1:05:08I mean, and went even further. Funeral arrangements, picking
- 1:05:11headstones, all of that. I don't even know She knew how
- 1:05:14to get herself out of it, but she still loved the attention.
- 1:05:16Regardless. So she didn't say anything.
- 1:05:18True. Very true.
- 1:05:19Now, Grandpa, you know you're wrong.
- 1:05:21You know who your daughter is. Come on.
- 1:05:24You know you're wrong. Yes, that's just for adding to
- 1:05:27her stress. Yeah, she added to my stress.
- 1:05:30My auntie was dying. Thank you.
- 1:05:32Thank you. All y'all wrong and all y'all
- 1:05:36need just to sit down and have a conversation.
- 1:05:38Jeez people don't talk enough. Literally.
- 1:05:44It's I feel people Oh my God at a Reddit off my chest.
- 1:05:49I secretly paid off my brother's debt and now he thinks he's a
- 1:05:52financial genius. OK.
- 1:05:56Three years ago, my younger brother. 28, male, was drowning
- 1:05:59in credit card debt, like $47,000 deep.
- 1:06:03He'd always been terrible with money, buying stuff he couldn't
- 1:06:05afford, eating out constantly, you know the type.
- 1:06:08Our parents kept bailing him out and it was causing huge fights
- 1:06:11at family dinners. I, 34, male, had recently gotten
- 1:06:15the decent bonus at work and honestly, I was tired of
- 1:06:18watching him struggle and listening to my mom cry about
- 1:06:20it. So I did something stupid.
- 1:06:22I paid off his entire debt. It took me about six months to
- 1:06:25do it in chunks so it wouldn't look suspicious.
- 1:06:27I made it look like the credit card company had a debt
- 1:06:30forgiveness program he qualified for.
- 1:06:32Wow. Here's where it gets weird.
- 1:06:35He thinks he did it. He's convinced that his
- 1:06:38budgeting system and financial discipline got him out of debt.
- 1:06:41Baby, you know you know that's not.
- 1:06:43Right, Like quit playing games. Like, you know, you didn't
- 1:06:46happen. You know, he's been giving
- 1:06:50financial advice. To our cousins.
- 1:06:52He wrote a whole blog post about that.
- 1:06:55Don't do that now you talking like OK, it's the divorcee.
- 1:06:58Giving you marriage. And he's like, calm down, you
- 1:07:01going too far. He wrote a whole blog post about
- 1:07:05his. Journey.
- 1:07:06And he's literally tried to charge her sister $200 for
- 1:07:09financial constellations. What?
- 1:07:12Yes, I know. Last week he told her parents
- 1:07:15he's writing a book about personal finance.
- 1:07:18My mom is so proud she cried. My dad kept telling everyone his
- 1:07:21son is a self-made success story.
- 1:07:23They are just desperate for some good news for.
- 1:07:25This boy, you know it. He's been growing up his whole
- 1:07:29life. They are desperate.
- 1:07:32Whole life, you know it. I want to tell him the truth.
- 1:07:37Because watching him act like some finance guru is driving me
- 1:07:41insane. But if I do, it'll destroy him.
- 1:07:43He'll know his entire comeback story is a lie.
- 1:07:46My wife says I should just let him have this and that maybe the
- 1:07:49confidence is actually helping him stay on track.
- 1:07:52But yesterday he posted on social media about how anyone
- 1:07:55could do it if they just had the discipline.
- 1:07:57And people who are actually struggling with debt are
- 1:07:59commenting asking for advice. He's giving them advice that
- 1:08:02literally doesn't apply because he didn't do what he thinks he
- 1:08:05did. I don't know what to do.
- 1:08:07Do I let him keep living his lie?
- 1:08:09Do I tell him and risk destroying his confidence?
- 1:08:11I created this mess and now I'm stuck watching it spiral.
- 1:08:14I would tell him and the. Reason I would tell him is,
- 1:08:20well, first of all, let me back up.
- 1:08:21All right, How are his credit cards looking now?
- 1:08:24Because if he's running up debt again, then that would be a
- 1:08:27great end for being, like, actually, exactly.
- 1:08:30I helped you out with this thing because it's not even about
- 1:08:33because this brother, it's a brother.
- 1:08:35Yeah. The brother is not looking for
- 1:08:37attention. If he was, he wouldn't have done
- 1:08:39it. It was quiet.
- 1:08:40He just wanted to help out his sibling and also help his
- 1:08:43parents out a little bit because they stress.
- 1:08:44Yes. But then to be like, you are
- 1:08:48this guru and you're helping people and into it quick, huh?
- 1:08:52Charging your your family members.
- 1:08:54For advice, for a consultation, that's why.
- 1:08:57Are you? That's why I feel like we should
- 1:08:59just. Tell him because I did this for
- 1:09:01you out of the kindness of my heart but now you can't even
- 1:09:03give your fake financial advice to your cousin for free for
- 1:09:07free. Like he needs to be checked
- 1:09:09exactly but he think he all that.
- 1:09:12But I have an update OK. The comments.
- 1:09:15Were intense. A lot of you told me I'm an
- 1:09:18idiot for doing it and honestly if I'm enabling his delusion and
- 1:09:22I need to tell him ASAP before he hurts more people.
- 1:09:25And honestly reading through all of that at 2:00 AM with my chest
- 1:09:27tight. You guys are right.
- 1:09:29I've been carrying this for three years.
- 1:09:31Three years of watching. Him talk about.
- 1:09:33Discipline and mindset at every family dinner while I sit there
- 1:09:36and smile like he did. A little smiling on to you.
- 1:09:40Do you know how hard it is not to choke on your food when your
- 1:09:42brother says I just decided to be great and your mom is
- 1:09:45naughty? She's watching a Ted talk.
- 1:09:48This idiot like. Just decided.
- 1:09:50Have you decided? One day you woke up and just
- 1:09:54boom. I don't want to be great.
- 1:09:57Please but the comments about him.
- 1:09:59Giving advice to actually struggling people, that's what
- 1:10:02got me. That's not funny anymore.
- 1:10:04Someone could actually make bad decisions because my brother
- 1:10:07told them to. Just believe in yourself when
- 1:10:09the real answer was your older brother is a sucker with with a
- 1:10:12savings account. Exactly.
- 1:10:14Exactly. So yeah, I'm going to tell him
- 1:10:16probably this weekend. I'm terrified, not going to lie.
- 1:10:19Again, thank you all for the reality check.
- 1:10:21This Internet straighter thing is pretty cool.
- 1:10:23I update you after it happens. Pray for me, I would love to
- 1:10:26hear about it. Yes, I will let you know if he
- 1:10:28has another update I'm. Praying for you bro.
- 1:10:30Do it, Oh my God, because his brother is going to have his
- 1:10:32little. Feelings hurt, like I'm sorry.
- 1:10:34His brother's floating high right now.
- 1:10:35This is his one win and he is riding high on it.
- 1:10:40Three years later, he's like genius.
- 1:10:42Yep, I just decided to be great. That's.
- 1:10:44Crazy. That's hilarious.
- 1:10:46Actually I'm going to use that. Just decided to be great.
- 1:10:49I woke up. Like seriously have you ever
- 1:10:52tried being great? Decided to be great.
- 1:10:57Love it. OK this is my last one and I
- 1:11:00feel like it's rage bait. Oh, God.
- 1:11:03All right, let me let me get ready.
- 1:11:04OK, but. Kind of hilarious.
- 1:11:06All right, am I the asshole for telling our friends that my
- 1:11:09husband wet the bed? Oh my God.
- 1:11:15My husband and. I live across the country from
- 1:11:17where he grew up. In fact, he hasn't been back to
- 1:11:20visit his family in years. He enlisted in the military
- 1:11:22right out of high school and decided to live permanently in
- 1:11:25one of the states where he'd been stationed.
- 1:11:27But his mother is ill, so he wanted to go visit this year as
- 1:11:30well as see some old friends as he hasn't caught up in a while.
- 1:11:33I thought it was a great idea because I also have friends who
- 1:11:36live in that area and we have some mutual friends as well.
- 1:11:39We decided we'd visit his family, stay overnight, and then
- 1:11:43meet up with some of our mutual friends the next day.
- 1:11:45We stayed the night at his family's and I woke up to find
- 1:11:48not only did we oversleep, but he'd wet the bed overnight.
- 1:11:52I've been with him for a few years now and that's never
- 1:11:55happened before. Is he OK?
- 1:11:57I don't know. Yeah.
- 1:11:58She doesn't really go into like them having a conversation about
- 1:12:02that. But I'm curious because his
- 1:12:04mother is sick. He's back at home for the first
- 1:12:06time. I feel like there might have
- 1:12:07been some psychological mental things going on.
- 1:12:09But anyway, he was a bit worried because it was his parents guest
- 1:12:12room, nice sheets and whatnot. So he put some stain remover on
- 1:12:15them and then put them in the washing machine.
- 1:12:17It took some extra time out of our plans, plus I misplaced my
- 1:12:21car keys. It was a whole thing.
- 1:12:23So by the time we got to the meet up spot with our friends,
- 1:12:25we were really late. One of my friends joked that
- 1:12:28it's the first time we've seen them in years and we're late, my
- 1:12:31husband said jokingly. Well, she lost her car keys so I
- 1:12:35said stop. But you wet the bed.
- 1:12:37Are you you jerk? Why would?
- 1:12:39You do that, you jerk. Don't Why?
- 1:12:43Why would you say? Why would you let him?
- 1:12:46Have this I would never say this Let.
- 1:12:48Him have it I lost my car keys. You're right, I lost my car keys
- 1:12:53we slept in. Also you can maybe say that make
- 1:12:55up a lie. Lie this.
- 1:12:57Will piss the bed. You'd have to put a gun to my
- 1:13:02head to get that. I would never say that about my
- 1:13:04partner. Why would you ever?
- 1:13:05Oh man, I didn't mean it. Maliciously at all, and the
- 1:13:09whole table laughed. But my husband was embarrassed.
- 1:13:12He played it off while we were there, but on the drive home he
- 1:13:15said he could not believe I told them that.
- 1:13:18I said I didn't want to take all the blame for being late, are
- 1:13:20you kidding? And that it wasn't a big deal
- 1:13:22anyway. Anyone could have an accident.
- 1:13:25My husband said I could have just made something, anything
- 1:13:28up. But tell him.
- 1:13:29Why would you tell him that? He still doesn't want to talk to
- 1:13:31me. This wouldn't have been a big
- 1:13:33deal at all if it had happened vice versa.
- 1:13:36Am I the asshole here? Yes, she's an asshole.
- 1:13:39She is. Because he walked in and out.
- 1:13:41He did walk. Into that one because why would
- 1:13:44you put it all on me knowing that you also were part of this
- 1:13:49being late thing but also I would literally never say that
- 1:13:53about my partner ever. Ever you could have thought of
- 1:13:56anything. Else we could have had a
- 1:13:57discussion. Being like, OK, we could have
- 1:13:59both made something out, it's not a big deal.
- 1:14:01But when we're talking about the gravity of each scenario,
- 1:14:05wetting the bed versus losing the car keys, you better take
- 1:14:08the the blame for losing the car keys because that's not even a
- 1:14:10big deal. I like I misplaced my car keys.
- 1:14:12We're in a. Hotel or an Airbnb or something.
- 1:14:14I just misplaced them. OK.
- 1:14:16And she said I don't want to take all the blame.
- 1:14:18You know, when we read earlier about eating the lice last slice
- 1:14:21of pizza. Yes, this is her.
- 1:14:23Yes, exactly. Because who cares?
- 1:14:26She's about self preservation only.
- 1:14:29So you were in front of my friends and you blamed our
- 1:14:32lateness on me and she and me is well, you wet the bed.
- 1:14:35It's not that big of a deal. It really is not.
- 1:14:38Oh my God. Yeah, I can't, but I don't know
- 1:14:40how. How do I?
- 1:14:40Go past that because let's say I do wet the bed one night, I'm
- 1:14:44going through some stuff. And then you told our whole
- 1:14:46friend, whole friend group, no, you have to leave.
- 1:14:49And if you were like my friend. Group or whatever.
- 1:14:52It'd be an ongoing joke for years, forever.
- 1:14:55You will not. Live this down.
- 1:14:56So why would you ever do that? Exactly Like I'd be getting
- 1:14:59rubber sheets for for Christmas presents and stuff from my
- 1:15:02friend group so that would never end.
- 1:15:06That's evil, that's what I'm saying.
- 1:15:08That's why they're my friend group.
- 1:15:12Because we are evil to each other.
- 1:15:14Oh my God. Like literally why would you do
- 1:15:16that? That's just like.
- 1:15:19That's the hill you decided to die on.
- 1:15:21Like you get one? Really.
- 1:15:23Bad thing that you do to your partner in all relationship and
- 1:15:25that's the one you, that's the one you chose.
- 1:15:27OK, Yeah. Inconsiderate.
- 1:15:29Yeah. I know.
- 1:15:32OK, so I want to go a little overtime because we had a couple
- 1:15:36story submissions and the one that y'all submitted was really,
- 1:15:39really good, so I wanted to read it real quick.
- 1:15:41It's a little long, but I feel like we have the time.
- 1:15:43Let's do it, let's do it. All right, so story submission,
- 1:15:46the unapologetic mother-in-law. I start this by saying.
- 1:15:50I am the. Mom that goes above and beyond
- 1:15:52for her kids, but in a good way. I love Christmas and my son
- 1:15:55Nick, now 7, is the same way. During the holiday season he
- 1:15:59makes arts and crafts and makes the whole house more festive.
- 1:16:02He thinks of new cookie flavors to leave out for Santa and the
- 1:16:05reindeer and starts every day with a new holiday song.
- 1:16:08This year I decided I was going to take a core memory with my
- 1:16:11boy and still had, well, I still had a chance and visit Santa at
- 1:16:14the mall with him and his baby sister the night before.
- 1:16:17I pack everything matching holiday diaper bags, snacks, and
- 1:16:21a few treats on the drive back. Really, right?
- 1:16:24I coordinate with this school to get things set so that I can get
- 1:16:27them early from school. I'm a teacher myself so I stay
- 1:16:29up late getting my students work ready for them while I'm out.
- 1:16:33I knew it was going to be truly a magical experience.
- 1:16:35My husband wasn't able to join us, but I knew Nick had no idea
- 1:16:38about it and was heading his way as I drop off the baby.
- 1:16:42I tell the babysitter. My husband's aunt about how I
- 1:16:45need the baby ready to be picked up by noon.
- 1:16:47Up until this point there was no issues and I couldn't wait for
- 1:16:50the big review. I leave work, pick up Nick and
- 1:16:52we head over to get the baby. We're almost ready to set and
- 1:16:56maybe 2 minutes before heading out and my aunt's phone rings.
- 1:16:59It's the mother-in-law, the grandmother and the kids
- 1:17:01grandmother. My son is the closest to the
- 1:17:04phone and picks it up. After saying hi to grandma.
- 1:17:06She utters the words that start the whole mess.
- 1:17:09Aren't you excited to go see Santa?
- 1:17:14I know. This is This is.
- 1:17:19This is terrible. Within few seconds I.
- 1:17:23Say out loud you ruin the surprise.
- 1:17:24Yes, why would you do that? She says nothing, but my son
- 1:17:28repeats back. Mom, the surprise is we're going
- 1:17:30to go see Santa. I try my best to play it cool,
- 1:17:33but I'm livid. The time, energy and effort all
- 1:17:36gone because my mother-in-law had to have her two cents.
- 1:17:41We get there, the photos are taken but the core memory I
- 1:17:43wanted and created was gone. The excitement, Oh my God, we're
- 1:17:47here. Yeah, it's gone.
- 1:17:49On my way back my husband's aunt calls ask if I can restock her
- 1:17:52for some items with the baby. I agree, get the items and
- 1:17:55figured I'd talk with the aunt so we can create a plan so she,
- 1:17:58my mother-in-law and other relatives live in the same
- 1:18:00house. I'm not perfect but there are
- 1:18:02two things about me that I'm not fake and my cut off game is top
- 1:18:05tier. I give the aunt the items and I
- 1:18:10mentioned. How until I cool off and hear an
- 1:18:11apology from my mother-in-law I don't want to be around her.
- 1:18:15My aunt says she's on her stands but my mom yes great grandma has
- 1:18:18now entered the chat. Says how I'm overreacting and
- 1:18:21need to move on. I reply she needs to worry less
- 1:18:24about me and more about her big mouth daughter.
- 1:18:27I know not the best thing to say but y'all I was mad mad about to
- 1:18:31say. I mean, I would be too.
- 1:18:32I get it. A few days go by and I have to
- 1:18:36take my. Daughter to the aunt before
- 1:18:38work. Well as I open the door my
- 1:18:40mother-in-law is waiting for me. I'm still very upset and she has
- 1:18:43yet to apologize so I said nothing.
- 1:18:46Well my silence and her mom telling her that I had a big
- 1:18:48mouth was was the final straw. This woman who is Uber religious
- 1:18:53and acts like she has a direct phone to God herself goes off,
- 1:18:56yells at me about how I'm rude, I'm disrespectful, I'm
- 1:18:59ungrateful and I have a bad attitude.
- 1:19:01I need to respect her because she's my elder and and the last
- 1:19:04thing she utters is how I'm a bad mom.
- 1:19:06No, no, I think. My guardian Angel worked
- 1:19:10overtime. That morning, because I could
- 1:19:12have gone low, and I mean, I could have brought it to where
- 1:19:14the lava hasn't even formed. She's hilarious.
- 1:19:17Yeah. She.
- 1:19:19Is even with that blatant. Disrespect, I choose to say
- 1:19:22nothing because I knew she wanted a reaction from me and
- 1:19:24then play victim. I drop off the baby, she yells
- 1:19:27at me as I make my way out of that door and slams the door as
- 1:19:29I walk out. I instantly call my husband
- 1:19:32because I don't want to go low. I want to drag his mother to the
- 1:19:34center of the earth. Score.
- 1:19:36I'm crying as I share all the occurred to him and he says he's
- 1:19:39going to speak with her. He agrees to pick up the kids
- 1:19:42and his mother does exactly what I said, tries to play victim.
- 1:19:45She says how all she did was say the truth and how she forgives
- 1:19:48me and a whole bunch of other BS.
- 1:19:50She forgives me. Excuse me, He tells.
- 1:19:54Her, how she was. Wrong and telling Nick how even
- 1:19:56if she thought she was, what she was saying was true, that's not
- 1:19:59how you go about it and that she needed to apologize.
- 1:20:02It's been over four months and I'm still waiting for an apology
- 1:20:05and fortunately I still have to deal with her.
- 1:20:07I don't say anything or acknowledge her in my mind, if
- 1:20:09I'm not horrible, why would you want to associate yourself with
- 1:20:12something like that? I'm not giving her anything to
- 1:20:14justify her victim mentality. I'm now going to the next level.
- 1:20:18She has tried to bring Nick into the situation and my husband
- 1:20:21has. Had to have several
- 1:20:22conversations with her about how inappropriate that is.
- 1:20:25I'm trying to have him take over because I know if I do it, it
- 1:20:28won't be good. I'm trying to sustain things
- 1:20:30until the school year ends and we will no longer be around her
- 1:20:33as frequently. But she is really pushing me to
- 1:20:35the point of lashing out. So what should I do?
- 1:20:38Tell her about how I feel, which will make things worse, or keep
- 1:20:41ignoring her, which keeps the peace where she does things with
- 1:20:43the intention to irk me. He's mother in laws, I are.
- 1:20:49Something else I feel like in my opinion, in every other aspect
- 1:20:55of your life, you're giving yourself over completely.
- 1:20:58You have these kids, you're a teacher, you are a wife.
- 1:21:02And mostly it's a compromise. I understand that.
- 1:21:05But in this situation, all she had to do was shut her mouth and
- 1:21:09let you have this surprise with your son.
- 1:21:10And she couldn't even do that. And she's picking on you and
- 1:21:13doing all this stuff making you uncomfortable.
- 1:21:15So now you have to sacrifice another element of yourself.
- 1:21:18I feel like you should take this one thing, this one win, and
- 1:21:21tell her exactly how you feel. You know, because.
- 1:21:25My guess is this isn't the first time that she has said or done
- 1:21:29something, something that's disrespectful to you, right?
- 1:21:31I mean, she called you disrespectful, right?
- 1:21:33And so you tried letting your husband handle it.
- 1:21:37It didn't work. And so now you have to continue
- 1:21:41giving of yourself, like you said, to keep the peace.
- 1:21:44Where? I don't know.
- 1:21:45I mean, why don't we just have one quick FF off session?
- 1:21:48Yeah. And then we just go about our
- 1:21:51business because you're ignoring her already.
- 1:21:53Exactly. You know, And it's just like,
- 1:21:56and she just keeps like you're like, I'm trying.
- 1:21:58Not to go low. Meanwhile she's going low, she's
- 1:22:00going low. And people always do that and
- 1:22:02it's like. And then when you go to their
- 1:22:03level or even just a smidge lower and they be like, Oh my
- 1:22:07God, how dare you, How dare you go?
- 1:22:09Low real quick. It's like you did it.
- 1:22:10You started this. So I mean, I'm not against it.
- 1:22:13I'm no. And you were protecting your kid
- 1:22:16and then she called you a bad mom.
- 1:22:17A bad mom. Forget that.
- 1:22:18You didn't spend all this time planning a surprise.
- 1:22:22You're the one who ruined it. You're a bad grandma.
- 1:22:24Exactly. Bad mother-in-law, Bad all those
- 1:22:26things I can handle being a bad daughter-in-law, right but I'm
- 1:22:30not a bad mother. I'm not a bad mom.
- 1:22:31So she was out of out of tune for that one.
- 1:22:33Out of line. Yeah.
- 1:22:36I say say your piece. Say it.
- 1:22:38I mean, 'cause you're. Already kind of estranged.
- 1:22:39From her anyway, so why not I'm speaking.
- 1:22:44That's you were like do it. And then send us an update.
- 1:22:51But that's just me though. Yeah, that's.
- 1:22:53Just us, we have no skin in the game.
- 1:22:56We were not, we were not being held accountable.
- 1:22:59But go do. It right and thank you.
- 1:23:02So much for sending that into US.
