- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up, everybody? That's his Gil, And I'm gonna let
- 0:02Speaker 1: you know that today. Stand back, lean in and listen,
- 0:06Speaker 1: because today I want to tackle the Free America walk
- 0:09Speaker 1: out on this moment of truth. Now you may have
- 0:12Speaker 1: heard the headline, you may have seen the signs. You
- 0:15Speaker 1: may have even checked your watch at exactly a two
- 0:18Speaker 1: pm and wondered why half the office suddenly vanished like
- 0:21Speaker 1: a rapture rehearsal. But I'm here to tell you the truth,
- 0:25Speaker 1: the whole truth, and nothing but the truth shall help me. God.
- 0:28Speaker 1: This happened all across America, not in secret, not by accident,
- 0:32Speaker 1: by this big calendar alert, at precisely the same moment,
- 0:36Speaker 1: From coast to coast, libtard stood up, pushed in their chairs,
- 0:40Speaker 1: grabbed their coats, and said these words rarely spoken with
- 0:44Speaker 1: such unity. I'm stepping out of work for democracy, and
- 0:48Speaker 1: work is putting it mildly right. Who has time from
- 0:50Speaker 1: their jobs and protests? Know one, I know? Libtards across
- 0:54Speaker 1: America put down the game controllers for democracy. I'm liberating
- 0:58Speaker 1: the down trodden for democracy. Yeah right, bunch of self
- 1:01Speaker 1: righteous pricked Now, this wasn't a riot. This wasn't a revolution.
- 1:05Speaker 1: This was a walkout, a very polite walkout, by the way,
- 1:08Speaker 1: no pitchforks, no tortures, just a bunch of laminated signs,
- 1:12Speaker 1: thermoces of coffee and a lot of people asking are
- 1:15Speaker 1: we needing back here? Are we going to get lunch?
- 1:18Speaker 1: You see? Organizers called it the Free America Walkout, which
- 1:21Speaker 1: sounds bold, he roic and dramatics, but in practice it
- 1:25Speaker 1: looked suspiciously like a nationwide coffee break with opinions. People
- 1:30Speaker 1: left their offices, people left classrooms, they left job site,
- 1:33Speaker 1: they left their parents' basement, and somewhere a middle manager
- 1:36Speaker 1: staid at an empty cubical form, thinking, I know I
- 1:39Speaker 1: should have approved that personal time off. Now. The signs
- 1:42Speaker 1: were inspiring, Oh yeah, very inspiring. Democracy is not a
- 1:46Speaker 1: spectator sport. Freedom isn't optional. Hands off America and one
- 1:50Speaker 1: handwritten massa piece that stood out and simply read be
- 1:54Speaker 1: back soon hopefully. In Los Angeles, crowds gathered under sunny skies,
- 1:59Speaker 1: because if you're going to protests federal power, you might
- 2:02Speaker 1: as well do it in good lighting and beautiful weather.
- 2:05Speaker 1: In the Midwest, folks protested bravely in freezing temperatures, proving
- 2:09Speaker 1: once again that nothing says conviction like numb fingers and regret.
- 2:14Speaker 1: One man held his sign for exactly six minutes before
- 2:17Speaker 1: handing it off to another person and saying, you believe
- 2:20Speaker 1: in this as much as I do. Right and everywhere,
- 2:23Speaker 1: everywhere there were chance, not angry a chance, not revolutionary chance,
- 2:28Speaker 1: but the kind of chance that starts strong to fade
- 2:30Speaker 1: when nobody agrees on the next line. Hey hey, ho
- 2:34Speaker 1: ho something something that's got to go. But here's the
- 2:38Speaker 1: fascinating part. Some people joined because they were passionate, Some
- 2:42Speaker 1: joined because their friends were going, some joined because their
- 2:45Speaker 1: boss left first, and a few joined because well they
- 2:48Speaker 1: thought it was mandatory. Why would I go not go it?
- 2:52Speaker 1: My friends are going? And when the walkout ended, something
- 2:55Speaker 1: remarkable happened. Absolutely nothing. Everyone went back to work, Everyone
- 3:01Speaker 1: went back to class, Everyone went back to emails titled
- 3:04Speaker 1: circling back. America had been freed for approximately ninety minutes.
- 3:09Speaker 1: But don't misunderstand this. This wasn't meaningless, no serve, because
- 3:13Speaker 1: America has always done its best, arguing while walking, sometimes forwards,
- 3:18Speaker 1: sometimes out the door, sometimes straight to the nearest food truck.
- 3:22Speaker 1: On that day, Americans didn't burn down the system. They
- 3:25Speaker 1: didn't overthrow anything. They simply stepped outside of wherever they
- 3:29Speaker 1: were and said, we are still here, we still care.
- 3:32Speaker 1: We like to be heard before a lunch break ends.
- 3:35Speaker 1: I'm socially conscious and I care ever notice that it's
- 3:40Speaker 1: just white people. But that's another story for another day.
- 3:44Speaker 1: And this is Gil. And now you know the truth,
- 3:47Speaker 1: the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. Later
