- 1:38Speaker 5: Welcome to your meditative prayer on overcoming depression. To get
- 1:42Speaker 5: the most out of your spiritual journey, use Pray.com every
- 1:45Speaker 5: day and make prayer a priority in your life. Again,
- 1:49Speaker 5: our goal for today's meditative prayer is overcoming depression. So
- 1:54Speaker 5: let's just begin by taking a minute to unwind. Position
- 1:58Speaker 5: yourself in a place and environment that will allow you
- 2:01Speaker 5: to relax. And just take a couple of deep breaths.
- 2:08Speaker 5: Now elevate your thoughts towards the Lord's throne room. Today
- 2:12Speaker 5: we'll be meditating on Psalm chapter 43, verse 5 from
- 2:18Speaker 5: the King James Version. It reads, Why art thou cast down,
- 2:21Speaker 5: O my soul? And why art thou disquieted within me?
- 2:26Speaker 5: Hope in God, for I shall yet praise him who
- 2:30Speaker 5: is the health of my countenance and my God. My friends,
- 2:35Speaker 5: let your worship rise up to God in this moment. God,
- 2:40Speaker 5: I praise you because your love never fails. I adore
- 2:45Speaker 5: you because you are my rescue and my salvation. You
- 2:50Speaker 5: see my needs. And you supply every one of them. Father,
- 2:55Speaker 5: I praise you for ministering in my heart in times
- 2:59Speaker 5: of trouble. I worship you because there has never been
- 3:03Speaker 5: a God like you. You never leave us nor forsake us.
- 3:08Speaker 5: For all eternity, you are present. Words hold power. So
- 3:15Speaker 5: much so that God spoke the world into existence. My friends,
- 3:20Speaker 5: you have access to this power, the power to speak
- 3:24Speaker 5: life into your own soul. King David, in the midst
- 3:28Speaker 5: of his depression, taught humanity a valuable lesson, the life-giving
- 3:33Speaker 5: power of words exercised by choice. You have a choice.
- 3:39Speaker 5: You decide what you focus on, what you speak over yourself.
- 3:45Speaker 5: This can be a difficult truth to accept, but it
- 3:47Speaker 5: is true nonetheless. Choosing to be encouraged in the middle
- 3:52Speaker 5: of depression won't be easy. In fact, it will seem impossible.
- 3:57Speaker 5: This choice, though, will demand every ounce of courage in
- 4:00Speaker 5: your heart, but it can be done. This is your
- 4:05Speaker 5: moment to share your emotional and mental state with the
- 4:10Speaker 5: Holy Spirit. Tell Him right now of the depression weighing
- 4:16Speaker 5: you down. Now consider the deliverance God has provided you
- 4:23Speaker 5: and thank Him for it. Thank the Lord for the
- 4:26Speaker 5: knowledge He has poured out over you. Thank Him for
- 4:30Speaker 5: His Word that encourages and enables you to overcome. Thank
- 4:36Speaker 5: the Holy Spirit for empowering you to understand and apply
- 4:40Speaker 5: God's Word. Give thanks to God because through His teachings,
- 4:45Speaker 5: He grants you blessings of peace and assurance. Never forget,
- 4:51Speaker 5: God is present and He is listening to you. So
- 4:56Speaker 5: come before His throne and ask Him for courage. Courage
- 5:01Speaker 5: to choose life, to speak words of comfort and motivation
- 5:04Speaker 5: to your soul. Ask the Holy Spirit to enable you
- 5:09Speaker 5: to focus on the deliverance God has for you. Ask
- 5:13Speaker 5: the Holy Spirit to help you cultivate hope in your heart,
- 5:17Speaker 5: a hope so strong that it will surpass any situation
- 5:21Speaker 5: you may be facing. Remember, you have a choice over
- 5:27Speaker 5: what you focus on. Emotions are real, and yes, they
- 5:31Speaker 5: should be acknowledged, but you don't have to be controlled
- 5:34Speaker 5: by them. You can speak life into your own soul.
- 5:40Speaker 5: You can decide to be uplifted by God's promise of deliverance.
- 5:45Speaker 5: Your words hold power. So speak with boldness and confidence.
- 5:51Speaker 5: Speak life over yourself this day and in every day
- 5:54Speaker 5: to come. Have faith that God's word is true and
- 6:00Speaker 5: it will be as he says. My friends, be encouraged.
- 6:04Speaker 1: You know why?
- 6:06Speaker 5: Because you can do this. Thank you for completing today's
- 6:10Speaker 5: meditative prayer on Pray.com. By incorporating this healthy habit as
- 6:15Speaker 5: a daily practice, you're making prayer a priority in strengthening
- 6:18Speaker 5: your walk with God. Again, my name is Zach Clinton
- 6:21Speaker 5: from the American Association of Christian Counselors. We love being
- 6:25Speaker 5: a part of your life.
