- 0:02Speaker 1: This is an Unspoiled Network podcast. This is spoil Me,
- 0:09Speaker 1: covering one Piece episodes five ninety five through five ninety
- 0:14Speaker 1: seven Capture m the Pirate Alliance's operation launches on the
- 0:20Speaker 1: verge of annihilation, A deadly monster comes flying in, and
- 0:25Speaker 1: an intense battle Caesar exercises his true power in these episodes.
- 0:33Speaker 1: Got a lot of things here going on that I
- 0:35Speaker 1: don't really know what to make of, and I'm really interested,
- 0:40Speaker 1: like in this power that Caesar Klan has since it
- 0:43Speaker 1: does seem to have effects on movie, But how does
- 0:47Speaker 1: any of this work? Welcome to spoil Me. Welcome to
- 1:19Speaker 1: the show everyone. I am Natasha. Thank you very much
- 1:22Speaker 1: to Bernadette for commissioning this episode. I haven't seen Bernadette
- 1:28Speaker 1: in the chat in Ages, girl, I hope that you
- 1:31Speaker 1: are okay. I've seen you in the discord, so I
- 1:33Speaker 1: think you probably are. Also Gabby. I haven't seen Gabby
- 1:37Speaker 1: in Ages, and I haven't seen Gabby in the discord,
- 1:39Speaker 1: so I am also worried about you. Gabby. Hopefully you're
- 1:42Speaker 1: all right, y'all. This section was very fun as well.
- 1:49Speaker 1: I'm really enjoying this arc so far. I feel like,
- 1:52Speaker 1: you know, last episode was a real banger, and we
- 1:55Speaker 1: got another few bangers today and we do a course.
- 2:00Speaker 1: It's unavoidable have some repetition things being drawn out, YadA YadA,
- 2:06Speaker 1: but at least it's being drawn out when it's something
- 2:10Speaker 1: that I don't feel like I have already understood. And
- 2:14Speaker 1: when I say that, what I'm thinking of is at
- 2:16Speaker 1: the end, when Louviy is finally affected apparently by Caesar
- 2:20Speaker 1: Clown's poison gas power, like what he himself turns into.
- 2:25Speaker 1: It's unclear to me at first that that's what's happening.
- 2:29Speaker 1: And then as it affects Loofy, I was like, is
- 2:31Speaker 1: it something that only affects Looviy? And then it clearly
- 2:35Speaker 1: affects everybody, And so it was drawn out, but there
- 2:39Speaker 1: was new information being given to me every step of
- 2:43Speaker 1: the way, so it didn't feel that way. It was informative. So, okay,
- 2:49Speaker 1: let's let's start at the beginning, shall we. The Pirate
- 2:56Speaker 1: Alliance's operation launches. This is so funny because like, technically yes,
- 3:05Speaker 1: but it doesn't feel as much like an alliance. When
- 3:09Speaker 1: one of the groups in the alliance is really pissed
- 3:15Speaker 1: that the other just gave their shit away. This is
- 3:19Speaker 1: the sort of thing where it's like, again, Law didn't
- 3:23Speaker 1: know what he was getting into with a alliance with Louviy.
- 3:27Speaker 1: He really didn't. He's throwing in with somebody who is tough,
- 3:32Speaker 1: who I think he maybe even respects a little bit.
- 3:36Speaker 1: But he just didn't know the way that Lufy's priorities work, obviously,
- 3:44Speaker 1: because the way he reacts to this, as if Louvi
- 3:47Speaker 1: wasn't going to immediately go straight to this person's fucking
- 3:50Speaker 1: front door and tell them precisely what the plan is.
- 3:54Speaker 1: Of course he is. It's so predictable, honestly, if you
- 3:58Speaker 1: know him at all. Robin though, She's even like, uh, dude,
- 4:02Speaker 1: this was supposed to be like kind of chill and
- 4:06Speaker 1: a bit more discreet, did you So she also has
- 4:10Speaker 1: kind of forgotten who Lufy is for being honest, So anyway,
- 4:17Speaker 1: this uh, this episode, it's like we have again, you guys.
- 4:24Speaker 1: I keep forgetting that it's Sanji in Nami's body. So
- 4:28Speaker 1: there was a point where they're talking and I was
- 4:30Speaker 1: sort of like, wait, wait, who was that? And then
- 4:34Speaker 1: I remembered because I was thinking at first that the
- 4:38Speaker 1: person who calls Brooke mature was Zoro, but Zoro so
- 4:44Speaker 1: rarely gives compliments that I was still a little like,
- 4:47Speaker 1: wait because I wasn't I wasn't looking at the screen
- 4:49Speaker 1: for that moment, and when I looked up and was like,
- 4:52Speaker 1: oh wow, a compliment from Zoro because Na, he's the
- 4:55Speaker 1: only other person there and it wasn't her voice. And
- 5:01Speaker 1: again Zoro speaks, but this time he's insulting Brooke, And
- 5:06Speaker 1: then it all came together again, and I was just like, oh, right,
- 5:10Speaker 1: that's not even fucking Nammy right now. I will say,
- 5:15Speaker 1: though Sanji is over here being simultaneously like really careful
- 5:20Speaker 1: with her body in this, I know that she's probably
- 5:25Speaker 1: more delicate than me, and I don't want to leave
- 5:27Speaker 1: a scratch on her, but also is like pulling out
- 5:32Speaker 1: a cigarette and just like pouring pollution into her lungs,
- 5:37Speaker 1: And it would be something that felt a little bit
- 5:41Speaker 1: like there was a conflict there if not for the
- 5:45Speaker 1: fact that we have always said it was only about
- 5:49Speaker 1: our appearance, not our health. Right, so as long as
- 5:54Speaker 1: Nami stays looking good on the outside without bruises and
- 5:57Speaker 1: scratches on her that he would find on slightly even
- 6:00Speaker 1: if her body is decaying from the inside from cancer,
- 6:05Speaker 1: Well you know can't help everything. So anyway, I'm trying
- 6:14Speaker 1: to see what it is that he actually complimenced here
- 6:16Speaker 1: it is Zora says, I don't believe in the Yetti,
- 6:20Speaker 1: and Sonji says I do, and Brooks says, I don't
- 6:23Speaker 1: believe or disbelieve. I am content to simply ponder its existence.
- 6:29Speaker 1: And that's when Sonji says, that's a mature outlook, and
- 6:34Speaker 1: then Zora says, sorry, but I call that way of
- 6:36Speaker 1: thinking indecisiveness, not wisdom, which you know, it makes sense
- 6:43Speaker 1: that he would think that Zoro is not a subtle
- 6:47Speaker 1: man with a nuanced view of the world, like let's
- 6:52Speaker 1: be real. Eventually, though, they do stumble across the Prince
- 6:57Speaker 1: from the Yetti brothers and they have to come to
- 7:00Speaker 1: terms with the fact that the Yettis are real, that
- 7:04Speaker 1: there's two of them, and the brothers come at them again.
- 7:11Speaker 1: These guns that I keep thinking are so far like
- 7:14Speaker 1: they just feel out of proportion to everything. It's just
- 7:17Speaker 1: wild and what the Yetti do. It was sort of
- 7:27Speaker 1: weird actually, considering that there had just been in the
- 7:30Speaker 1: last episode them saying like, yeah, of course they're dead.
- 7:34Speaker 1: If you didn't want them to be dead, then you
- 7:36Speaker 1: should have sent different people to do the job. But
- 7:42Speaker 1: it's they don't really go for the kill on this
- 7:47Speaker 1: one the way that they made it sound like in
- 7:49Speaker 1: the last one. So they're standing there contemplating this huge
- 7:55Speaker 1: footprint and then one of the YETI actually no, both
- 7:59Speaker 1: of them fire and they send this like you know,
- 8:02Speaker 1: canister of gas that's this green cloud around them to
- 8:07Speaker 1: disorient all of them. They are stumbling and almost like
- 8:11Speaker 1: ready to pass out, and Brooke describes it as feeling
- 8:15Speaker 1: like he's drunk. So one of the brothers says, yeah,
- 8:19Speaker 1: this leaves you drunk and drowsy, no matter how high
- 8:22Speaker 1: your tolerance. Beneath this cliff lies District F sixteen, home
- 8:27Speaker 1: to the terrible ice spikes, and we get to see
- 8:31Speaker 1: this thing underneath the edge of the cliff that is
- 8:35Speaker 1: basically like they it couldn't have been purposely made by
- 8:40Speaker 1: man's hand to be more lethal. So what they do
- 8:44Speaker 1: is they shoot. The brothers shoot off the edge of
- 8:49Speaker 1: the cliff, so that the whole piece of the cliff
- 8:52Speaker 1: plus all three of them just go hurtling toward the ground, which,
- 8:57Speaker 1: like I said, it feels like a bizarrely into way
- 9:01Speaker 1: of handling things. You just shot a man, you shot
- 9:05Speaker 1: brown Bear dead, so it seems for now anyway, why
- 9:10Speaker 1: wouldn't you just shoot these guys. But the answer is
- 9:13Speaker 1: because that would be then we would have dead protagonists
- 9:17Speaker 1: and we can't have that. So they go off of
- 9:21Speaker 1: the cliff. But then Zoro sees that like huge thing
- 9:26Speaker 1: below them with all of the spikes on it, and
- 9:28Speaker 1: he slices that in half as well, so that they
- 9:31Speaker 1: go down past it, and the brothers eventually come up
- 9:34Speaker 1: to the edge to look down and see if all
- 9:37Speaker 1: of them are down there, and it's like they see
- 9:41Speaker 1: the spikes, but they can't tell that it's actually been
- 9:44Speaker 1: cut in half. They also don't see the straw hats
- 9:50Speaker 1: impaled on there anywhere, but nevertheless evidently assume that it
- 9:56Speaker 1: all went to plan, which is just not a good
- 10:01Speaker 1: policy frankly. But yeah, so they like call back to
- 10:07Speaker 1: home base and say, yeah, they went off the cliff,
- 10:10Speaker 1: we took care of it, but you guys are gonna
- 10:12Speaker 1: have to come and recover the bodies. So then we
- 10:16Speaker 1: have all of these dudes coming to retrieve the bodies
- 10:19Speaker 1: and Nami Sanji getting up and just like kicking the
- 10:24Speaker 1: ever loving shit out of them. And waking up his
- 10:27Speaker 1: friends and being like, all right, let's fucking do this, guys,
- 10:30Speaker 1: wake up. We cut from there to the Oh my god,
- 10:41Speaker 1: I forgot about enough hunting Nature's and mystery. I think
- 10:44Speaker 1: the Samurai is around here somewhere. I'm sorry. I thought
- 10:46Speaker 1: that scene ended and then we jumped to the other side.
- 10:48Speaker 1: But no, there's still this conversation here about saving the samurai,
- 10:53Speaker 1: and Sanji is like repeatedly in this trio of episodes,
- 11:01Speaker 1: like I'm gonna help him, I'm gonna do the right thing,
- 11:04Speaker 1: but I'm also going to beat the shit out of
- 11:06Speaker 1: him once he's like put back together again, and he
- 11:08Speaker 1: says this to them. He says it to the Samurai
- 11:12Speaker 1: a couple times, and so eventually they come to this
- 11:15Speaker 1: frozen lake and they are walking across it looking for
- 11:21Speaker 1: the Samurai, but stepping directly on his face as they're
- 11:26Speaker 1: doing it, and eventually Zoro is the one who notices,
- 11:31Speaker 1: which is genuinely kind of funny because Zorro is so
- 11:36Speaker 1: unaware of his surroundings, which is I think when he
- 11:38Speaker 1: gets lost all the time so much that I wouldn't
- 11:41Speaker 1: have expected him to be the one to see. But uh, yeah,
- 11:45Speaker 1: Sanji smashes this guy in the head so that the
- 11:48Speaker 1: ice cracks off of him. It's like a coating, and
- 11:52Speaker 1: he was just alive in there like a shell. And
- 11:58Speaker 1: this dude is like, I I suddenly became paralyzed. I
- 12:02Speaker 1: thought for certain that death was upon me. And Soanji's like, dude,
- 12:09Speaker 1: you suddenly became paralyzed. You almost froze to death, that's
- 12:14Speaker 1: what you're talking about. And he tries to pretend that's
- 12:17Speaker 1: not it at all, that like, he isn't affected by
- 12:19Speaker 1: the cold, Sir, why do you feel the need to
- 12:22Speaker 1: do this instantly start shivering afterward? Are you idiot? So
- 12:30Speaker 1: they ask him like, where where are your other parts?
- 12:34Speaker 1: And he says, I do not acquire oh right, because
- 12:40Speaker 1: Sanji tells him, like, maybe you should get put some
- 12:43Speaker 1: new clothing on yourself. And he says that the power
- 12:49Speaker 1: comes with a cost, which I thought was sort of weird,
- 12:53Speaker 1: Like it just felt almost like I would have thought
- 12:56Speaker 1: he was lying if it weren't spelled out for us
- 12:59Speaker 1: a little bit more. I did not acquire it without
- 13:02Speaker 1: a cost. Because of it, I now have a certain
- 13:04Speaker 1: weakness ever since partaking of that fruit when submerged in water,
- 13:10Speaker 1: and I was like, oh, that's it. I really thought
- 13:14Speaker 1: there was going to be more to that. And it's
- 13:17Speaker 1: a good thing that his head was only a little
- 13:19Speaker 1: off the shore. His body being sunk apparently isn't going
- 13:23Speaker 1: to have as much of an effect. But he tells
- 13:26Speaker 1: them that he thinks he knows where his torso is.
- 13:30Speaker 1: You might locate it somewhere underwater, and Sanji is like, ah, shit,
- 13:36Speaker 1: because he is the one who knows how to swim,
- 13:39Speaker 1: and even though he is in Nami's body, He's going
- 13:43Speaker 1: to have to go ahead and swim down there, which
- 13:47Speaker 1: I truly, I mean, I cannot advise this at all.
- 13:52Speaker 1: It is so you guys, ice cold water. It's terrifying
- 13:59Speaker 1: the kind of effect that it can have on you
- 14:01Speaker 1: and how fast it happens, like I can oh god,
- 14:05Speaker 1: this just my whole body felt like it contracted. And
- 14:09Speaker 1: also I thought that it was interesting the idea because
- 14:14Speaker 1: we've already like sort of seen this with other characters,
- 14:19Speaker 1: and we see more of it later with ta Shigi
- 14:22Speaker 1: and Smoker. But ta Shigi is like using Smoker's ability
- 14:26Speaker 1: but not really well, like she doesn't understand how to
- 14:28Speaker 1: turn back into her body at one point, and Smoker
- 14:32Speaker 1: is just like, will you get the fuck out of
- 14:33Speaker 1: the way, You're ruining everything. But the fact that Sangy
- 14:40Speaker 1: is going to be able to swim in Nami's body,
- 14:44Speaker 1: I don't have a problem with this because any body
- 14:48Speaker 1: can swim, so even if she doesn't know how, if
- 14:52Speaker 1: he has the knowledge, he can make her body move
- 14:55Speaker 1: the way that it needs to in order to swim. However,
- 15:01Speaker 1: I was kind of thinking about there's another show that
- 15:03Speaker 1: I'm covering called Altered Carbon I've only covered the first
- 15:08Speaker 1: two episodes, very compelling, and this character is put into
- 15:13Speaker 1: a new body. He has the same memories and personality
- 15:16Speaker 1: and everything, but he is put into a body that
- 15:19Speaker 1: was specifically chosen because it has the muscle memory of
- 15:24Speaker 1: martial arts already. And I thought that was really interesting,
- 15:29Speaker 1: the idea that, like, you may know how to do
- 15:33Speaker 1: martial arts, and so you may be able to technically
- 15:36Speaker 1: get this body to move the way that it needs
- 15:41Speaker 1: to to perform certain movements, but that muscle memory is
- 15:47Speaker 1: a different thing than knowledge. So perhaps even with your
- 15:52Speaker 1: own understanding in your consciousness being installed into a new body,
- 15:57Speaker 1: if that body isn't adequate, like with its reflexes and whatnot,
- 16:03Speaker 1: you are not going to be nearly as effective a fighter.
- 16:08Speaker 1: And that's setting aside, like having the knowledge, but maybe
- 16:12Speaker 1: the muscle density on this body isn't as great or whatever.
- 16:15Speaker 1: It just sort of got me thinking about that, Like
- 16:17Speaker 1: the changing of personalities to different bodies, it just raises
- 16:22Speaker 1: a lot of questions in the way that different properties
- 16:25Speaker 1: handle that I just always find a little interesting, because
- 16:28Speaker 1: you know, there's plenty of ways that you could follow
- 16:30Speaker 1: this thread and make it so that there are significant obstacles,
- 16:36Speaker 1: or you could make it so that there are a
- 16:37Speaker 1: couple but it's not too bad, but anyway, so I
- 16:43Speaker 1: do like that. Eventually, this wraps up with him saying
- 16:46Speaker 1: thank you to Soanji, and Sanji saying, oh, look, you
- 16:49Speaker 1: finally are saying thank you. Maybe everybody should get frozen.
- 16:53Speaker 1: I thought that was funny. So they're coming up towards
- 16:57Speaker 1: the side of the island that all of the centaurs
- 17:00Speaker 1: are running away from, and the centaurs, I had thought
- 17:05Speaker 1: for a moment, was going to be like them attacking,
- 17:09Speaker 1: but really quickly you see they are running from the thing,
- 17:13Speaker 1: and our friends sort of stop and are just like, well, wait,
- 17:15Speaker 1: what is it that they're running from and then Zorro
- 17:21Speaker 1: once again, the guy that isn't normally very aware of
- 17:25Speaker 1: his surroundings, is like, hey guys, uh, they're supposed to
- 17:32Speaker 1: be a lake this way, right, so why is there
- 17:38Speaker 1: a mountain? Where did that come from? And the camera
- 17:43Speaker 1: pulls back and we see that like red and purple
- 17:47Speaker 1: thing together, which we know is Smiley, And it's sort
- 17:52Speaker 1: of bizarre because like I see it and it's first
- 17:56Speaker 1: of all, much larger than I was imagining in my head.
- 18:00Speaker 1: But then eventually it begins to sort of break apart,
- 18:04Speaker 1: and that was the part where I was like, what
- 18:06Speaker 1: is going on? So we jumped to Caesar Clown's lab
- 18:11Speaker 1: and he explains that Smiley was the chemical weapon that
- 18:17Speaker 1: was like what he allegedly saved the island from. Everybody
- 18:22Speaker 1: thought that he had just found a way to purify
- 18:25Speaker 1: the air, but instead what he did was condensed the
- 18:31Speaker 1: gas down into a I guess, like, really it's I
- 18:38Speaker 1: was gonna say liquid, but like when we saw him
- 18:41Speaker 1: drop that tablet, it was not even a liquid. It
- 18:44Speaker 1: was it was a solid. So he managed to basically
- 18:51Speaker 1: like separate the gas from the rest of the atmosphere
- 18:54Speaker 1: and just create this absolutely Bonker's weapon with it, which
- 19:00Speaker 1: that feels unfair but true. This feels like a thing
- 19:05Speaker 1: that we would absolutely do our own military. Why not?
- 19:12Speaker 1: And he says I had been developing a poison gas bomb,
- 19:16Speaker 1: which I dubbed H two s It was so deliciously
- 19:20Speaker 1: effective that when it was unleashed on the island, it
- 19:23Speaker 1: killed everything in its path within a matter of seconds.
- 19:29Speaker 1: And apparently he hadn't intended this to be the way
- 19:32Speaker 1: that this went down, which I did find kind of
- 19:34Speaker 1: funny that he just sends this out there, and like
- 19:37Speaker 1: the gas when we see this flashback, it's not just
- 19:40Speaker 1: people dying. It seems like the gas is so corrosive
- 19:43Speaker 1: that we're even watching like buildings basically it seems almost
- 19:50Speaker 1: age so that they fall apart. It made me think
- 19:55Speaker 1: of like the effects of acid rain, you know what
- 19:58Speaker 1: I'm saying. But yeah, So the fact that he had
- 20:04Speaker 1: not intended this and he's like going around in his flashback,
- 20:08Speaker 1: did they seriously think I would purify the entire island
- 20:12Speaker 1: in like why would I be that wasteful? Instead? I
- 20:17Speaker 1: created a monster by compressing all the gas and it
- 20:21Speaker 1: lives here still my smiley, Which the fact that it's
- 20:26Speaker 1: called Smiley. I do find very funny. Still I do.
- 20:30Speaker 1: I think that's great. So also guys, as he's like,
- 20:39Speaker 1: I just really this is something that I really enjoy
- 20:44Speaker 1: When we have these monologues from him and we have
- 20:49Speaker 1: the flashbacks and we see everything that happened, we forget
- 20:56Speaker 1: temporarily until the camera comes back to the present that
- 21:00Speaker 1: he is delivering this monologue right next to his assistant Monet,
- 21:07Speaker 1: who is utterly ignoring him. And I just keep finding
- 21:12Speaker 1: that so funny, just the fact that it's like written explicitly,
- 21:17Speaker 1: Oh yeah, she's there, She's like right there, she can
- 21:20Speaker 1: hear him, and she just doesn't even acknowledge him. And
- 21:24Speaker 1: it doesn't feel at all like this is info he's
- 21:27Speaker 1: telling her. It's he's one monologuing. She knows this already,
- 21:33Speaker 1: is my impression. And I don't know why I think that,
- 21:36Speaker 1: but I do. But yeah, he you know, is it's
- 21:42Speaker 1: just really feeling himself and the way that this whole
- 21:45Speaker 1: thing like there's almost a sense that he can see
- 21:48Speaker 1: the camera and is purposely going up to it and
- 21:51Speaker 1: talking into it, like he's doing an Instagram live or
- 21:55Speaker 1: something like that. So this is when we check in
- 22:01Speaker 1: at the area where Vega Punk's labs had been, and
- 22:05Speaker 1: that's where the kids are holed up. At first, they
- 22:09Speaker 1: are still asleep and it's okay, but then they begin
- 22:14Speaker 1: to wake up, and eventually we have a pretty terrible
- 22:19Speaker 1: scene of all of them crying and screaming for more candy.
- 22:23Speaker 1: And when Oosop attempts to put them out again, like
- 22:31Speaker 1: send them back to sleep with his whatever the I
- 22:36Speaker 1: can't remember the pod that he used for it, but
- 22:40Speaker 1: he tries to do it again and it doesn't have
- 22:43Speaker 1: any effect. Eventually he does manage to put them to sleep,
- 22:48Speaker 1: but what he tried the first time doesn't work a
- 22:51Speaker 1: second time. It's as if they are developing an immunity somehow,
- 22:57Speaker 1: And I just thought of thought that was interesting because
- 23:02Speaker 1: that can be a thing with drugs, like you do
- 23:05Speaker 1: something and they develop a tolerance or the use of
- 23:11Speaker 1: the drug makes it so that other drugs don't affect
- 23:13Speaker 1: them in predictable ways, you know. But really, we don't
- 23:19Speaker 1: spend almost any time with these kids outside of this incident.
- 23:25Speaker 1: So meanwhile, the Marines are trying to get that door
- 23:30Speaker 1: open and reporting back to Smoker that he can't that
- 23:34Speaker 1: they're not going to be able to Smoker is certain
- 23:37Speaker 1: that were he in his own body, he'd be able
- 23:40Speaker 1: to do it. And I'm not really sure why he
- 23:42Speaker 1: thinks that, Like, if you think that, then t Shiki
- 23:46Speaker 1: should be able to do it, because this isn't a
- 23:48Speaker 1: matter of intelligence, it's utter brute strength, So just have
- 23:54Speaker 1: her go do it. Then why I didn't feel like
- 23:57Speaker 1: that statement really made any sense. So then we go
- 24:03Speaker 1: to Law, who he is like coming out of one
- 24:06Speaker 1: of those little uh tunnels and it's almost like he teleported.
- 24:13Speaker 1: Chopper is, you know, like, did we just did we teleport?
- 24:18Speaker 1: And he just tells him to shut up. I was like,
- 24:21Speaker 1: can you be a little bit nicer please, to my
- 24:24Speaker 1: choppy guy? Thank you. Law is saying that I need
- 24:31Speaker 1: to find a way to get this place emptied out
- 24:34Speaker 1: so that I can look around, and you are going
- 24:37Speaker 1: to have to see what you can figure out about
- 24:39Speaker 1: the drug, and Chopper is like, you're acting like it's
- 24:44Speaker 1: gonna be really difficult for you to do, and the
- 24:49Speaker 1: Master already trusts you. I don't understand why you can't
- 24:55Speaker 1: just like go up to him and capture him instantly,
- 24:59Speaker 1: and then we could go around and find the drug
- 25:01Speaker 1: and it would be like dune deal, and Law says,
- 25:06Speaker 1: I can't take him down myself. There are certain circumstances
- 25:10Speaker 1: preventing that, which is why I have involved you. You
- 25:14Speaker 1: don't need to know the specifics. All I'm asking your
- 25:16Speaker 1: crew to do is kidnap him. I'll take care of
- 25:20Speaker 1: the rest. I just really want to know what that means.
- 25:25Speaker 1: Why not if the guys doesn't really have a body
- 25:30Speaker 1: and is all gas, can you not use his powers
- 25:33Speaker 1: the same way? Like? I don't know. But anyway, as
- 25:40Speaker 1: he is about to go inside, everybody starts shouting and
- 25:43Speaker 1: is like, hey, what the fuck is that thing? They
- 25:45Speaker 1: think it's a missile, and eventually we see that it
- 25:48Speaker 1: is Loofy blown up to giant size, with Frankie sort
- 25:52Speaker 1: of riding on his shoulders, and behind them is coming Robin.
- 25:57Speaker 1: But she doesn't like smash into the ship the way
- 25:59Speaker 1: the two boys do. She manages to make herself a
- 26:02Speaker 1: pair of those creepy, creepy wings with her hand power
- 26:09Speaker 1: and like just gracefully lands on the ground. And I
- 26:13Speaker 1: was just like, wait to show him, girl. I find
- 26:16Speaker 1: your power unnerving, unsettling and unpleasant, but I can't deny
- 26:21Speaker 1: that it is effective and practical. And what can you
- 26:27Speaker 1: you know, I feel like that's the best. So, like
- 26:31Speaker 1: I said, this is when Lufy just decides to announce
- 26:34Speaker 1: to everybody what the fuck the plan is. So jumping
- 26:37Speaker 1: into the next episode on the verge of annihilation, this,
- 26:47Speaker 1: y'all the whole idea here. This is first of all,
- 26:54Speaker 1: announcing what the plan is. But I had forgotten just
- 26:59Speaker 1: how much much for the moment, Caesar Clown's minions believe
- 27:07Speaker 1: in him and are defending him on a really foundational
- 27:10Speaker 1: level of loyalty. So at one point, Caesar Clown comes
- 27:17Speaker 1: out and insults them all by telling them to fucking
- 27:22Speaker 1: He calls them maggots. I'm wondering if that's what he
- 27:25Speaker 1: calls them in the translation when it's the sub for
- 27:28Speaker 1: the dub. He calls the maggots and they all stop
- 27:31Speaker 1: and are like, to teach us, call us maggots, And
- 27:34Speaker 1: one of the other guys is like, uh, we have
- 27:37Speaker 1: to have misheard him, and they're like, yeah, yeah, we
- 27:39Speaker 1: definitely misheard him. He would never say that about us,
- 27:43Speaker 1: and as it's like, oh, babies that by the end
- 27:46Speaker 1: of this grouping of episodes, even though he has said
- 27:48Speaker 1: that to them, they are still going hard for him.
- 27:51Speaker 1: You know, it hasn't like they have not turned the
- 27:54Speaker 1: corner and understood. But anyway, he's not out here yet.
- 27:59Speaker 1: I'm just kind of jumping ahead because all of these
- 28:01Speaker 1: centaurs and everything are just making me so sad. But
- 28:05Speaker 1: we have first Robin taking a bunch of guys down
- 28:08Speaker 1: with her ability, like wrapping her hands around their throats.
- 28:12Speaker 1: And when we go back to Law he is looking
- 28:16Speaker 1: like down on this whole situation and basically is like,
- 28:19Speaker 1: all right, well, they're gonna have to sort that out
- 28:21Speaker 1: by themselves. We are going inside and he says, do
- 28:27Speaker 1: you remember the plan we discussed? And Chopper is like, yep,
- 28:31Speaker 1: You're gonna come up with a distraction to get Caesar
- 28:34Speaker 1: and the bird Lady out of the room and then
- 28:35Speaker 1: I'll look for information about the drug. And he's going
- 28:40Speaker 1: down this like endless sort of hallway and this lasts
- 28:44Speaker 1: for a little bit. Going back outside there is there
- 28:52Speaker 1: is such a weird battle going on, you guys. I
- 28:55Speaker 1: love how like perfunctory some of it is. But uh,
- 29:00Speaker 1: Lofy is looking around and he's like, all right, guys,
- 29:03Speaker 1: well what now like we're here, is the master gonna
- 29:06Speaker 1: come out or do we have to like go in there,
- 29:10Speaker 1: and they decide that they're gonna have to go inside,
- 29:13Speaker 1: so Robin is like, all right, well let's head that way.
- 29:17Speaker 1: As they are like deciding what to do, Tashigi in
- 29:21Speaker 1: Smoker's body attacks Loofy, and essentially what winds up happening
- 29:29Speaker 1: here is like, because this isn't Smoker in his own body,
- 29:36Speaker 1: Tashigi isn't up for the challenge, and Lufy gets to
- 29:40Speaker 1: the point where he finally is like, look, this isn't fair.
- 29:44Speaker 1: You're not at your best right now. I don't want
- 29:48Speaker 1: to beat you when you're in this condition. Go get
- 29:51Speaker 1: yourself back in your body, and then we will figure
- 29:55Speaker 1: something out and we'll be able to fight then and
- 29:58Speaker 1: it'll be way more fait. And I found it very
- 30:02Speaker 1: funny how Tashiki says something about how she doesn't need charity.
- 30:06Speaker 1: I think it's the way she words it, and I
- 30:08Speaker 1: just found that very like a funny response. Oh okay,
- 30:13Speaker 1: so jumping over here to you sound different too, almost
- 30:17Speaker 1: like you're a girl or something. And then we have
- 30:21Speaker 1: Smoker coming over into Shighi's body. Don't get your ass
- 30:26Speaker 1: kicked by an idiot like him while you're in my body. Okay.
- 30:30Speaker 1: At once, loving like understands the switch that has been made,
- 30:34Speaker 1: he starts cracking up, which I did think was sort
- 30:37Speaker 1: of funny, considering that he has just been around all
- 30:39Speaker 1: of his friends who have been switched into different bodies,
- 30:42Speaker 1: and I didn't feel like he found that nearly as amusing.
- 30:46Speaker 1: But I guess it's because none of them are as
- 30:49Speaker 1: dramatically like. The most macho of them is Zorro, and
- 30:57Speaker 1: Zoro doesn't get switched out with anybody, if I call correctly.
- 31:01Speaker 1: So yeah, I don't know. I'm wondering if it's just
- 31:06Speaker 1: because of the masculinity of Smoker and how like intense
- 31:10Speaker 1: he is that it is extra funny. But yeah, uh so,
- 31:18Speaker 1: let's see. I'm sorry, I'm trying to jump past this
- 31:21Speaker 1: point where he tells him, Oh, I'm sorry, I got
- 31:24Speaker 1: it confused. I was saying, like he told Tshigi in
- 31:27Speaker 1: Smoker's body, you're not your best. But no, he tells
- 31:30Speaker 1: Smoker into Shihy's body, like, come find me when you're
- 31:33Speaker 1: back in your bother. That's what it is, so Frankie. Meanwhile,
- 31:40Speaker 1: they're still looking at this door that they're trying to
- 31:42Speaker 1: open to get into the lab and he's like, oh,
- 31:46Speaker 1: I can handle that, no problem, and he just uses
- 31:48Speaker 1: a laser and just basically burns a hole through the
- 31:51Speaker 1: metal and makes a big opening. I was like, I
- 31:55Speaker 1: feel as if there's probably a way you could have
- 31:58Speaker 1: done that where you guys could get in and then
- 32:00Speaker 1: close it behind you, But evidently that didn't occur to him,
- 32:04Speaker 1: and now everybody is going to be able to come
- 32:07Speaker 1: in after them if they so desire. Doesn't matter yet though,
- 32:11Speaker 1: because within these episodes, we don't our group out here
- 32:15Speaker 1: doesn't go inside. So the first thing that we get
- 32:19Speaker 1: distracted by is one of those big like balls of
- 32:24Speaker 1: slime landing on the top of the ship and inching
- 32:29Speaker 1: its way down, and nobody on the ship knows what
- 32:33Speaker 1: this is understandably, so they begin to try and deal
- 32:37Speaker 1: with it in a couple of different ways. So one
- 32:40Speaker 1: dude tries to slice into it, another one tries to
- 32:43Speaker 1: shoot it, and they both begin to realize that it's
- 32:46Speaker 1: getting harder and harder to breathe, so they're putting two
- 32:51Speaker 1: and two together. We're like basically poking holes in it
- 32:54Speaker 1: and letting the gas out. Guys, we have to go
- 32:57Speaker 1: get our gas masks. When they said we have to
- 32:59Speaker 1: go at our gas masks. I had a moment of like, oh,
- 33:03Speaker 1: the gas masks, you just happen to have handy, And
- 33:05Speaker 1: then I was like, oh, no, yeah, they do just
- 33:07Speaker 1: have them handy because they wore them on the way in.
- 33:10Speaker 1: Like I was so smirky, and then immediately it was like, bitch,
- 33:14Speaker 1: shut up. That was you saw that happen. And finally
- 33:21Speaker 1: this other dude is like, I don't know of any
- 33:25Speaker 1: creature that isn't afraid of fire, so I'm going to
- 33:29Speaker 1: handle it. And he comes at it, and this thing
- 33:32Speaker 1: is like growing before their eyes because all of these
- 33:36Speaker 1: balls are flying towards the ship and landing and then
- 33:41Speaker 1: merging together to become one giant creature. And this dude,
- 33:47Speaker 1: by the time he steps up and is like, I'll
- 33:50Speaker 1: deal with it, he is looking at like a mountain
- 33:56Speaker 1: of It's probably fifteen or twenty times the size of
- 34:02Speaker 1: what his friends were dealing with a second ago. So
- 34:05Speaker 1: he's starting to burn it, and everybody is beginning to think, oh, sweet,
- 34:09Speaker 1: look at it's beginning to shrink or it's like sort
- 34:11Speaker 1: of slumping. It is looking as if it is actually
- 34:17Speaker 1: dying and responding. But then there is this flare of
- 34:23Speaker 1: light and the camera pulls out and the whole ship explodes,
- 34:30Speaker 1: which I genuinely did not see coming. I should have,
- 34:35Speaker 1: I really should have. If there's one thing that I
- 34:39Speaker 1: know about, like just the safety of living in my
- 34:42Speaker 1: own home, is that gases plus flame often not an
- 34:49Speaker 1: awesome combination, and this is just a condensed gas. But
- 34:55Speaker 1: didn't see it coming. And everybody on the land is
- 34:58Speaker 1: just like what the fuck? And Smoker is truly upset
- 35:03Speaker 1: because this was supposed to be the way out, Like now,
- 35:06Speaker 1: what you know, I don't know how they get out
- 35:07Speaker 1: of here, if there's another ship they can steal or something.
- 35:12Speaker 1: And there's all of these centaurs, who are you know,
- 35:17Speaker 1: despite the fact that they are technically on the side
- 35:21Speaker 1: of the Master, as we have seen, he doesn't give
- 35:25Speaker 1: a shit about preserving their lives. So this thing was
- 35:30Speaker 1: just as much of a danger to them as it
- 35:32Speaker 1: was to his enemies. So they see that this thing
- 35:36Speaker 1: is is like destroyed, and because they haven't noticed any
- 35:44Speaker 1: more of it, they believe that it's taken care of
- 35:49Speaker 1: that even though it sucks. Those dudes blew themselves up
- 35:53Speaker 1: one they were our enemies, So thanks for helping us out.
- 35:57Speaker 1: And two now it's like completely you know, the gas
- 36:06Speaker 1: thing Smiley was our enemy also, so basically two of
- 36:12Speaker 1: our opponents just handled one another. I mean, that's ideal.
- 36:19Speaker 1: And then as they're talking about this, they notice another
- 36:23Speaker 1: ball of it landing behind them, and we begin to
- 36:27Speaker 1: see just how much of it there is, and eventually
- 36:31Speaker 1: Caesar Clown explains it can't travel quickly, so when it
- 36:36Speaker 1: needs to go somewhere else, this is what it does.
- 36:40Speaker 1: And when we go back to like the original Smiley pile,
- 36:45Speaker 1: it has created this sort of like hose that shoots
- 36:50Speaker 1: out these balls towards the other side of the island.
- 36:55Speaker 1: It is like, I'm trying to think of a way
- 36:58Speaker 1: to describe this. It almost reminds me of like one
- 37:01Speaker 1: of those machines that shoots tennis balls for you to
- 37:04Speaker 1: like practice your swing, you know. But yeah, it's a
- 37:09Speaker 1: very like weird look. And then we get a moment
- 37:13Speaker 1: that you guys, I know, I talk about Brooke and
- 37:16Speaker 1: his voice actor all the time. I'm not sorry, Like
- 37:19Speaker 1: this guy is so good. So he predictably is saying, oh,
- 37:27Speaker 1: like I've never seen anything like it. It's such a
- 37:32Speaker 1: shocking sight. My eyes might pop out of my head,
- 37:37Speaker 1: but they well they would, but I haven't got any.
- 37:43Speaker 1: But the way he delivers it, guys, is in a
- 37:46Speaker 1: moment of like almost what's the word I want? Baited breath,
- 37:52Speaker 1: Like he is trying to speak in such a serious
- 37:58Speaker 1: way as this occasion deserves, like almost reverence in his voice.
- 38:04Speaker 1: My eyes might pop out of my head, well they would,
- 38:11Speaker 1: but I have got it, like it is so fucking funny.
- 38:15Speaker 1: I just can't with him. Man, he is just everything
- 38:20Speaker 1: is gold, even when they see the blob and he
- 38:24Speaker 1: what his first reaction is. Oh, I thought blogs were
- 38:30Speaker 1: just like, you know, fantasy creatures, but I've come across
- 38:34Speaker 1: them in books I've read, and they always in those
- 38:39Speaker 1: books melt women's clothing off. And of course both Sangi
- 38:46Speaker 1: and and the Samurai are like a can I borrow
- 38:51Speaker 1: that book? Though at some point no big deal? And
- 38:55Speaker 1: I did find that actually funny. Even though a lot
- 38:57Speaker 1: of the times the gross perlus of these characters I
- 39:02Speaker 1: just don't have time for, this was one that I
- 39:04Speaker 1: actually did think was kind of funny. So everybody is
- 39:11Speaker 1: rushing for cover because this thing is just like raining
- 39:15Speaker 1: down on them at this point, and then Eventually, Caesar
- 39:19Speaker 1: Clown does come out into the open, and he is
- 39:24Speaker 1: already very much counting his chickens before they have hatched.
- 39:29Speaker 1: He's perched on the tip of one of the ships.
- 39:31Speaker 1: I don't know if it's the one that just blew up,
- 39:34Speaker 1: because it's there's so much of it left. I can't
- 39:37Speaker 1: tell if this is like a different ship. You know,
- 39:40Speaker 1: he's got a bunch of recks around here, so who knows.
- 39:45Speaker 1: And yeah, Smoker is like, Okay, I fucking thought it
- 39:49Speaker 1: was Caesar Clown. There he is. I knew it. And
- 39:54Speaker 1: loofy is let's see, I'm trying to like he's yelling
- 39:59Speaker 1: up to him as Caesar Clan says, welcome to my island.
- 40:03Speaker 1: Allow me to present the most brilliant scientist ever. He
- 40:08Speaker 1: is feeling himself so much right here. As this stuff
- 40:11Speaker 1: is continuing to rain down, he explains about like how
- 40:18Speaker 1: he doesn't tolerate water very well, that's right, I thought
- 40:21Speaker 1: he was. I thought he said that he doesn't like
- 40:23Speaker 1: move quickly enough, but he doesn't tolerate water, so he
- 40:26Speaker 1: has to fling himself over piece by piece, inconvenient but effective. Nonetheless,
- 40:33Speaker 1: and I do think that like him being weak toward water.
- 40:38Speaker 1: I'm curious how that works, because like Caesar had him
- 40:43Speaker 1: in a tablet form and then he added a liquid
- 40:46Speaker 1: and it seemed to activate the creature. But if it's
- 40:51Speaker 1: weak to water, I'm imagining it as being sort of
- 40:55Speaker 1: like if he gets over diluted, then he doesn't have
- 40:57Speaker 1: any effect, maybe something like that. I don't know. I'm
- 41:03Speaker 1: just really like curious about how this is gonna shake out,
- 41:08Speaker 1: because this weakness obviously is gonna be something that we
- 41:11Speaker 1: utilize eventually. And I'm also trying to consider, like what
- 41:16Speaker 1: are the characters that we've got and what are their powers,
- 41:21Speaker 1: because if we've got somebody who has some sort of
- 41:23Speaker 1: water based power, potentially they could be the one that
- 41:27Speaker 1: handles this thing. I can't think of anybody specifically. The
- 41:33Speaker 1: best I can do is Frankie because he is equipped
- 41:38Speaker 1: with so much equipment. Oh my god, did I just
- 41:41Speaker 1: say he's equipped with so much equipment? Oh, I'm so sorry.
- 41:45Speaker 1: But what I'm saying is Frankie doesn't have a particular
- 41:52Speaker 1: power set. He has the ability to like temporarily make
- 41:56Speaker 1: anything his power set. So if he he's got some
- 42:00Speaker 1: water guns in there or something, perhaps that's gonna do
- 42:05Speaker 1: a thing. I don't feel like whatever he has in
- 42:08Speaker 1: his arsenal, though, is gonna be big enough. This thing
- 42:11Speaker 1: is so huge. So anyway, Caesar Clown continues with his
- 42:17Speaker 1: fucking monologuing. This dude I cannot get enough of him
- 42:21Speaker 1: looking directly into the camera and laughing, and then the
- 42:24Speaker 1: camera's zeroing in on his crazy yellow eyes. This dude
- 42:28Speaker 1: is so like, he's so cartoonish, and I recognize the
- 42:34Speaker 1: irony here, but that he has crossed over into being
- 42:38Speaker 1: actually fun again instead of irritating. And he's like standing
- 42:43Speaker 1: there laughing when Loofy just like appears in front of him,
- 42:48Speaker 1: having wrapped his arms around Caesar's waist, and he clasps
- 42:53Speaker 1: it and says, I got you now, master, and Caesar
- 42:56Speaker 1: Clown starts screaming, and I had a moment of just
- 43:00Speaker 1: like what you've got him? Now? He's made of gas?
- 43:03Speaker 1: What do you mean? Like? How do you even? And
- 43:06Speaker 1: come to find out that because Lufy is using hockey,
- 43:11Speaker 1: he's able to lock him into place and keep him
- 43:15Speaker 1: from being able to be insubstantial anymore. Now that is
- 43:23Speaker 1: not the same thing as keeping him from transforming. He
- 43:29Speaker 1: can still transform, and it's in a way that he
- 43:36Speaker 1: can fight back against Loofy with his abilities, but it
- 43:42Speaker 1: isn't actually like enough for him to just liquefy in
- 43:48Speaker 1: his arms and get away. And that is a very
- 43:51Speaker 1: fine distinction and being able to use hockey for this
- 43:57Speaker 1: interesting see. We jump back over to Our Boys, Our
- 44:03Speaker 1: Boys with Nami and after an asterisk, and Sanji is
- 44:08Speaker 1: saying to himself, this is even colder than it looks.
- 44:10Speaker 1: I better make it quick, and he's like in Nami's
- 44:14Speaker 1: body with like this little fucking bikini top on, and
- 44:18Speaker 1: I was just like, my guy, you would be dead.
- 44:22Speaker 1: You would so instantly be dead. My god. Meanwhile on
- 44:28Speaker 1: the shoreline, his friends are watching these like balls of
- 44:31Speaker 1: slime inch ever closer to them. So we go inside
- 44:36Speaker 1: and we have Law going into a room where Monet
- 44:40Speaker 1: is all alone, and he's like, hey, so where's Caesar
- 44:44Speaker 1: clown And she says he's probably outside watching the fight.
- 44:49Speaker 1: She says, the degenerate can't get enough of destruction. And
- 44:55Speaker 1: I thought that was interesting because like it makes some
- 45:00Speaker 1: sense why she's ignoring him in his monologuing if she
- 45:04Speaker 1: really sees him as a degenerate, like just not worth
- 45:08Speaker 1: her time, her respect, he's doing some some admirable stuff
- 45:13Speaker 1: Asterisk with tech and inventions or whatever. So anyway, Law
- 45:22Speaker 1: tells her, I'm gonna be taking off soon because I
- 45:26Speaker 1: have seen enough and I have had enough of this place.
- 45:29Speaker 1: I'm gonna get out, but I could use your help
- 45:32Speaker 1: with something. Could I borrow you for a sec? And
- 45:35Speaker 1: she's like, ooh, what is this a date? So she
- 45:43Speaker 1: she has these glasses and I keep waiting for these
- 45:45Speaker 1: glasses to like matter in some way. They have those
- 45:51Speaker 1: like spirals on them that a lot of times are
- 45:53Speaker 1: sort of shortcuts for These can be used to hypnotize people,
- 45:57Speaker 1: you know. And so and she sits up after he
- 46:01Speaker 1: asks for her help, and the light catches them. I
- 46:05Speaker 1: thought for a moment that this was like, you know,
- 46:10Speaker 1: narrative hint, that this was going to be really important,
- 46:14Speaker 1: and that she was going to use these glasses on
- 46:18Speaker 1: him as a weapon, that we were getting a little
- 46:21Speaker 1: bit of foreshadowing, you know. And then she just immediately
- 46:27Speaker 1: takes them off, and I'm like, maybe they're in her pocket.
- 46:30Speaker 1: I thought I saw her leave them on the table though,
- 46:33Speaker 1: So yeah, she's just I guess they're just a fashion
- 46:37Speaker 1: choice and they're not actually able to do anything. But
- 46:41Speaker 1: I don't know. I may be wrong with that. I
- 46:42Speaker 1: don't know. So let's see. Okay, we go back outside.
- 46:49Speaker 1: Lufy is still holding onto the Master. Everybody else is
- 46:54Speaker 1: just beating the shit out of all of those around them,
- 46:58Speaker 1: and Frankie is impressed. He's like, oh, he can't use
- 47:01Speaker 1: his powers. Nice. And then this is when Robin explains
- 47:06Speaker 1: to him, like he can touch him, but he can't
- 47:08Speaker 1: stop him from transforming. So it's not exactly a complete
- 47:13Speaker 1: victory at this point. And so this moment where we
- 47:17Speaker 1: had seen Caesar looking very upset at the fact that
- 47:21Speaker 1: Lufy had grabbed him, we kind of transition and see,
- 47:26Speaker 1: oh he was just startled. It wasn't exactly that he
- 47:29Speaker 1: was reacting like, oh my plans are completely foiled. He
- 47:33Speaker 1: had just been taken off guard for a moment and
- 47:37Speaker 1: now he's gonna get down to fucking business again. And
- 47:40Speaker 1: he tells Loofy, don't get cocky. So Lufy tries to
- 47:46Speaker 1: use his gum gum bell power with his like head
- 47:50Speaker 1: to basically head butt him, but there is a like
- 47:57Speaker 1: as he's holding this so weird, but as he's holding
- 48:02Speaker 1: Caesar Clown in place, Caesar Clown uses gas cloak, and
- 48:07Speaker 1: I'm not entirely sure how this worked if Loufy just
- 48:11Speaker 1: got out of the line of fire. You know, he's
- 48:14Speaker 1: snapping his fingers and it goes towards the wrong guy.
- 48:18Speaker 1: Eventually it wraps around Loofy, But at first I was
- 48:23Speaker 1: sort of like, wait, how, And I guess the aim
- 48:28Speaker 1: isn't as precise as I would think. So Lufy gets
- 48:32Speaker 1: completely wrapped up in this gas, and understandably, really, Caesar
- 48:39Speaker 1: Clown is like, oh, now this gas is around you.
- 48:43Speaker 1: That's it. That's a wrap for you, so you may
- 48:46Speaker 1: as well just breathe it in and die and get
- 48:49Speaker 1: it over with and stop wasting all of our time.
- 48:53Speaker 1: So Loufy finally, after holding his breath, he refuses to
- 48:59Speaker 1: let go of the guy, like that's not an option.
- 49:02Speaker 1: So he begins to inhale and you see all of it,
- 49:06Speaker 1: like going up his nostrils to the point that the
- 49:08Speaker 1: cloud around him is completely gone, and he pauses. There
- 49:14Speaker 1: there's a little bit of blood, as if like a
- 49:16Speaker 1: nosebleed or something, but it's not actually coming, you know,
- 49:19Speaker 1: it's just the blood around his head. And then all
- 49:22Speaker 1: of a sudden, his ear muffs that he's wearing pop
- 49:26Speaker 1: off and all of the steam comes out of his ears,
- 49:30Speaker 1: like he somehow inhaled it and then shot it back
- 49:34Speaker 1: out again. And he says that he doesn't think that
- 49:40Speaker 1: this poison has much of an effect on him after
- 49:43Speaker 1: dealing with Magellan, because as we know, he did create
- 49:48Speaker 1: a kind of uh threshold where he can be immune
- 49:55Speaker 1: to it. Well, the Master does really like that suggestion.
- 50:02Speaker 1: He seems really pissed off at comparing the two of them.
- 50:06Speaker 1: He's like, my poison is a lot more powerful than his,
- 50:11Speaker 1: and I was like, sir, it's clearly not. He just
- 50:15Speaker 1: survived it, So what are you? What do you Why
- 50:17Speaker 1: do you even think that I didn't realize that he
- 50:20Speaker 1: had a whole different poison that was up his sleeve.
- 50:27Speaker 1: So this is the point where everybody is like, don't
- 50:30Speaker 1: you lay a finger on him? Everybody attack and then
- 50:34Speaker 1: Caesar Clown says, mind your own business, you maggots, And
- 50:39Speaker 1: I genuinely couldn't help but laugh, because, like, you didn't
- 50:43Speaker 1: have to do all that. You could have just told
- 50:45Speaker 1: them I'm handling him. You know you don't have to.
- 50:49Speaker 1: But he, I think, is just so angry at the
- 50:51Speaker 1: fact that he's being put through his paces at all,
- 50:54Speaker 1: that he isn't thinking about what he's saying. And I
- 50:57Speaker 1: mean also the fact that like they basically they're here
- 51:01Speaker 1: to help you, they're trying, they're talking about how they're
- 51:04Speaker 1: gonna step up and defend you. And this is the
- 51:08Speaker 1: moment that you decide to let it slip that you
- 51:10Speaker 1: don't give a shit about them. Just yeah, not his
- 51:14Speaker 1: greatest moment of judgment, That's all I'm saying. So he's
- 51:21Speaker 1: starting to get irate and he tells Loofy that he's
- 51:24Speaker 1: going to put him in his place. He shows him
- 51:28Speaker 1: these two discs he's holding, red and blue ones, and
- 51:34Speaker 1: Loofy uses this armament power and heads toward him, and
- 51:39Speaker 1: then it turns out that they're a compact. They aren't
- 51:43Speaker 1: a disk like when they he was holding. They almost
- 51:47Speaker 1: look like two giant checkers or something. But when Lufy
- 51:51Speaker 1: is coming at him, he opens it and then he
- 51:55Speaker 1: says castanet and when he clips it closed, there's this
- 52:01Speaker 1: huge explosion. Really, what we're getting here is like several
- 52:05Speaker 1: instances of him thinking that he has managed to completely
- 52:09Speaker 1: vaporize Loofy and being proven wrong over and over. Now.
- 52:15Speaker 1: At first after the explosion, we see Loofy sinking to
- 52:19Speaker 1: the ground with like black smoke pouring out of his mouth.
- 52:23Speaker 1: It doesn't look great for him, you know, like I
- 52:26Speaker 1: understand why he thought that this has succeeded. However, once
- 52:31Speaker 1: again Loofy is okay. Also, these like smilies that are
- 52:40Speaker 1: falling to the deck of the ship around him, well, no,
- 52:43Speaker 1: because he's on the shore now. I think he had
- 52:45Speaker 1: been on the ship, but he or No, he's standing
- 52:48Speaker 1: on the ship still because Loofy fell and he fell
- 52:51Speaker 1: on like the deck, so he is standing on the
- 52:54Speaker 1: ship still. But he is directing the smilies that are
- 52:56Speaker 1: on the ground around the centaurs. That's what it is.
- 53:01Speaker 1: And he says, go and give straw Hat a hug,
- 53:05Speaker 1: and they all leap up and like wrap around Loofy.
- 53:10Speaker 1: And I appreciated that one of his own henchmen is
- 53:13Speaker 1: just like, wait, what the slime follows orders now? Because yeah,
- 53:19Speaker 1: also was a little confused by this. I was like,
- 53:23Speaker 1: I kind of I know that this thing has two eyes,
- 53:27Speaker 1: but it still didn't really feel like a complete sentient thing.
- 53:32Speaker 1: It felt like it's basically been what's the word when
- 53:39Speaker 1: you give something like you assign it a sort of
- 53:42Speaker 1: personality despite it not having one. You know what I'm
- 53:46Speaker 1: talking about anthropomorphized. I guess no, that's when you actually
- 53:51Speaker 1: make something into like a person. I don't know, I'm
- 53:55Speaker 1: not sure the word I'm looking for here, guys, but
- 53:57Speaker 1: I had sort of thought that Caesar Klam was true
- 54:00Speaker 1: it like it was a pet, just because he found
- 54:03Speaker 1: it amusing and not because it could actually do things
- 54:06Speaker 1: of its own. So when it listens to his orders,
- 54:10Speaker 1: I was like, okay, what this changes everything? Because there
- 54:13Speaker 1: are so many of these drops in the air that
- 54:17Speaker 1: he could basically wrap everybody in this shit, you know,
- 54:21Speaker 1: and he hasn't thought to do that. I don't know
- 54:24Speaker 1: if it's just too much trouble or what. But anyway,
- 54:28Speaker 1: Louviy's wrapped up in this and he uses castanet again.
- 54:33Speaker 1: And when I say that he wraps Loufy up again,
- 54:38Speaker 1: I have already mentioned that Lufy is fine. This is
- 54:42Speaker 1: the second time he does it, and Lufy hasn't come
- 54:45Speaker 1: back to consciousness between, so I jumped ahead a little
- 54:49Speaker 1: bit and saying that Lufy winds up fine. I forgot
- 54:51Speaker 1: that he does it a whole second time, but it
- 54:55Speaker 1: you know, that was basically him doing in case this
- 54:59Speaker 1: mother fucker still isn't dead, I'm going to hedge my
- 55:03Speaker 1: bets and I'm going to do it one more time,
- 55:06Speaker 1: which I respect. Actually, you know, there's a reason that
- 55:09Speaker 1: that double tap rule in zombie Land is a thing.
- 55:12Speaker 1: You just don't take it for granted that somebody is
- 55:16Speaker 1: dead and you gotta make sure that job is done. Now, granted,
- 55:22Speaker 1: he's still wrong and Lufy is still okay, but I
- 55:27Speaker 1: think at least that he did his due diligence on this.
- 55:30Speaker 1: You guys, I was just listening to a snapped episode.
- 55:34Speaker 1: I'm so sorry. Like, I don't I don't try and
- 55:37Speaker 1: joke about this, because, like, somebody literally dies for these
- 55:42Speaker 1: episodes to exist, So I don't want to make a
- 55:47Speaker 1: joke out of someone's death. But there are times where
- 55:52Speaker 1: it's I'm not it's not the person who died, it's
- 55:55Speaker 1: the fucking murderer that's the joke. And that's most of them,
- 55:59Speaker 1: to be honest, And in one that I was just
- 56:02Speaker 1: recently listening to, this woman decided to kill her own
- 56:06Speaker 1: mother and she shot her and then assumed that she
- 56:11Speaker 1: had like that the woman was dead, and left and
- 56:16Speaker 1: came back hours later to find her mother, like trying
- 56:19Speaker 1: to give herself some kind of medical care, and the
- 56:23Speaker 1: mother hadn't called nine one one. I don't know if
- 56:26Speaker 1: she didn't realize who shot her because she was asleep,
- 56:30Speaker 1: or if she knew it was her daughter and didn't
- 56:33Speaker 1: want to call the cops on her own daughter or what.
- 56:35Speaker 1: But the daughter comes back and finds her mother trying
- 56:38Speaker 1: to like give herself some first aid and shoots her again.
- 56:43Speaker 1: So they they find this like weird crime scene. When
- 56:46Speaker 1: they eventually come with two wounds that don't seem to
- 56:50Speaker 1: have happened at the same time, and this woman evidently
- 56:53Speaker 1: walking on her own power to another room, it just
- 56:57Speaker 1: the whole thing looked so weird. And yeah, so what
- 57:01Speaker 1: I'm saying is that person, if they were going to
- 57:03Speaker 1: be a more competent murderer, would have done a double tap.
- 57:07Speaker 1: But I could see how that's particularly difficult to do
- 57:09Speaker 1: on your mother. It's easy to do a double tap
- 57:12Speaker 1: on a zombie, but when it's your mom, I'm sure
- 57:14Speaker 1: just pulling the trigger that one time was probably really hard.
- 57:19Speaker 1: So anyway, I am off on a tangent as usual,
- 57:23Speaker 1: but this, like when Loufy is still apparently destroyed by
- 57:28Speaker 1: the Castanette attack. The second one, all of the Master's
- 57:35Speaker 1: men are gathered around him, cheering for him and just
- 57:40Speaker 1: yelling like master, Master, Master, and he's saying, yes, praise
- 57:45Speaker 1: me more. And it was really giving, like Buggy the Clown,
- 57:49Speaker 1: and he's in the middle of just soaking it in
- 57:54Speaker 1: when Loofy appears and just says, wow, that was close.
- 57:58Speaker 1: Huh and and he's just still fine, grinning like a motherfucker.
- 58:06Speaker 1: So he goes, ah, right, basically, I've had about enough
- 58:12Speaker 1: of this, and he decides to go into I think,
- 58:15Speaker 1: is this gear too gum gum jet stamp? He does
- 58:22Speaker 1: that thing where he turns red and begins to steam,
- 58:25Speaker 1: so I feel like that was too I may be
- 58:28Speaker 1: wrong about that though. Maybe Gear two is biting his
- 58:32Speaker 1: thumb and Gear three is when he turns into a
- 58:35Speaker 1: rubber like a hot water bottle. That's the word I'm
- 58:40Speaker 1: looking for. So he's almost oops, sorry, guys, I got
- 58:47Speaker 1: a phone call in the middle of that. I hate
- 58:50Speaker 1: that he's almost managed to capture this guy. And it's
- 58:56Speaker 1: sort of like what do I do with him? Even,
- 58:58Speaker 1: like should I put him in something? And they're thinking
- 59:01Speaker 1: maybe to find a barrel, and all I could think
- 59:04Speaker 1: about was like, what is going on with what hair caribou?
- 59:11Speaker 1: You know what? We still don't. I don't feel like
- 59:13Speaker 1: we know exactly what went down with him. Guys correct
- 59:16Speaker 1: me if I'm wrong, But that instantly made me think
- 59:18Speaker 1: of him, and I was like, are we gonna do
- 59:20Speaker 1: another dude that just has to be kept into a
- 59:24Speaker 1: kept in a barrel to manage him? If you do,
- 59:27Speaker 1: I think you're gonna need to handle it better than
- 59:29Speaker 1: you did last time, because he evidently just got away
- 59:32Speaker 1: and nobody fucking noticed. I could understand that, though you know,
- 59:36Speaker 1: you put him in a barrel, out of sight, out
- 59:38Speaker 1: of mind, as they say. Anyway, this is the point
- 59:42Speaker 1: where Lufy is like for himself, a little overconfident, and
- 59:50Speaker 1: all of a sudden he begins to gasp and choke,
- 59:55Speaker 1: and like I said, it's pretty drawn out, but we
- 59:58Speaker 1: have all like his friends who are here as well, gasping,
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: choking and passing out. Meanwhile, Caesar Clown is just like
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: cackling and saying, you really fucking underestimated me. You thought
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: the other thing was the best I could do. All right, fine,
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: I'll pull out all the stops I was hoping that
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: Frankie because he is a I keep wanting to say android,
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: but he is. It's not because he's part human cyborg.
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: I was thinking that maybe he might have a better
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: means of dealing with the gas and potentially have some
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: sort of protection for his face, or that his lungs
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: don't function the way other people do. But no, he
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: gets into it, and he starts choking as well and
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: goes down. So does Smoker with Tashigi in Smoker's body,
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: and I can't remember if Smoker into Shigi's body goes down.
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: I'm trying to watch this now. I feel like he's
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: outside of the sphere of influence, so to speak. And
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: so he winds up okay and able to get away,
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: but I'm trying to see oh wait, no, eventually he
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: does get got It's funny that this would bother him
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: when he smoked so many cigars. It would be sort
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: of amusing if we did a sort of like, well,
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: because he smokes so many cigars, he's already developed a
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: tolerance to toxic gases. I wouldn't even be mad about it.
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: So yeah, Caesar clown picks him up by his hand
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: and is just sort of dangling him and smirking down
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: at him, and he's looking up at Caesar Clown and
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: he's like, I really thought he was going to pull
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: something out all of a sudden, the way that he's
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: looking at him. I was sort of like, well, absolutely,
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: every buddy can't go fucking dead, right. But then we
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: go over to Law and he is in a tunnel
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: and he puts a hand to his chest and I'll
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: tell you what, guys, I it took me so long
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: to realize that it was supposed to be that the
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: gas was reaching here as well. I really thought. And
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: maybe I'm wrong, because there's a person that kind of
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: comes out of the dark and maybe they're doing something
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: to him. But I started to think that it was
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: the gas that had actually penetrated all the way inside,
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: and he's yelling out, like who's there. Monette says, oh, dear,
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: it seems you're in pain. But I can't tell if
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: she's just being a little bitch or if she really
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: is enjoying this, or if this was like something intentional
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: on her part. I couldn't I really couldn't tell. And
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: then finally some we see some feet and somebody comes
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: walking out of the dark and says it's me and
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: we don't know who this is. His name has been
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: revealed by the subtitles to be Virgo v E R
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: g O. But don't recognize that name myself. And Las says,
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: why are you here? Why now? And Virgo like Mony
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: is like giggling. So maybe she is enjoying this. Is
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: she in league with Virgo? But he says how many
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: years has it been? Look at you all grown up?
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: And then it just goes to be continued. So because
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: I had a moment where the voice made me think
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: of I can't remember if it was a Okige. I
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: think it sounded like him, but evidently not so. And
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: I guess maybe this is why Money was willing to
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: tolerate Caesar Clams. She was working with somebody actually competent,
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: and so she just ignored his ass. I don't know.
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: All right, folks, I've got to wrap up, but thank
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: you again so much for listening. Appreciate you all so much,
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: Thank you Bernadette for commissioning this episode. And until next
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: time to lou motherfuckers. That was an Unspoiled Network podcast
