- 0:00Speaker 1: The Mark Simone Show on 710WOR.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Well, hey, if you just joined us, you missed the
- 0:08Speaker 2: first hour. Remember, it's 9 to noon every day. Three hours,
- 0:11Speaker 2: 9 to noon every day. It's cold out. It's 56
- 0:15Speaker 2: degrees out right now. It's cold out. Did you see
- 0:18Speaker 2: President Trump greeting President Xi at the airport there? You
- 0:24Speaker 2: notice he was wearing his overcoat? I don't mean a
- 0:27Speaker 2: little thin raincoat. I mean a heavy... cashmere overcoat and
- 0:32Speaker 2: the president had gloves on and that's in washington dc
- 0:35Speaker 2: that's a far far south of here it's cold out
- 0:40Speaker 2: uh today it's fall if you haven't been out yet
- 0:43Speaker 2: uh you're going to need an overcoat today so we
- 0:46Speaker 2: got a lot to talk about i just heard that
- 0:48Speaker 2: on the news starbucks closing 400 locations it sounds like
- 0:52Speaker 2: they're in real trouble oh my god they're closing four
- 0:55Speaker 2: 100 locations. Well, it's not that bad, actually. They have 18,000.
- 0:59Speaker 2: It's less than 1%. It's 18,000 stores. Now, we're going
- 1:07Speaker 2: to open, while they're closing 300, they're opening 600, although
- 1:11Speaker 2: they've changed that number now to 450. 450 will open.
- 1:16Speaker 2: The reason they closed them, they're underperforming stores. And it's
- 1:20Speaker 2: not really a reflection on Starbucks. It's a reflection on
- 1:23Speaker 2: those communities that couldn't support the Starbucks. It costs a
- 1:26Speaker 2: lot of money to close them down. They're going to
- 1:29Speaker 2: spend about $ 300 million in restructuring charges. But again, 18,000
- 1:35Speaker 2: Starbucks all over the place. You know, I saw this
- 1:37Speaker 2: story in the news about poor Ed Sheeran. All the controversy.
- 1:42Speaker 2: Ed Sheeran lost 500,000 Instagram followers over Macklemore. He lost 500,000.
- 1:50Speaker 2: Sounds terrible, doesn't it? Well, wait a minute. His Instagram
- 1:55Speaker 2: is 47.6 million. So now it's 47.2 million. It's not
- 2:02Speaker 2: exactly a big loss. That's like a million to 1%.
- 2:07Speaker 2: 47.6 million Instagram followers. All right, I'm trying to beat
- 2:12Speaker 2: him on Instagram with followers. Go follow me right now
- 2:15Speaker 2: at Instagram. MarkSimoneNYC at Instagram. If you're not following me
- 2:20Speaker 2: on Instagram, go to my Instagram and click follow. Mark Simone, NYC,
- 2:26Speaker 2: at Instagram. So they're in panic at CNN. They are
- 2:33Speaker 2: really in panic. The merger has gone through. David Ellison
- 2:38Speaker 2: and Paramount will take over Warner Brothers Discovery, which owns
- 2:42Speaker 2: a lot of stuff. It owns HBO. It's got CNN.
- 2:46Speaker 2: It's got HBO Max. So they'll take control of CNN.
- 2:50Speaker 2: So these left-wing kooks over there convinced themselves that everybody
- 2:56Speaker 2: is a MAGA right-wing Republican. That's not the case with
- 2:59Speaker 2: David Ellison. They did this with Barry Weiss, who's a Democrat,
- 3:02Speaker 2: by the way, and comes from the New York Times.
- 3:05Speaker 2: She's not a Republican, but they were all in panic.
- 3:08Speaker 2: They're waiting for massive layoffs. Now, the reason they should
- 3:10Speaker 2: be in panic is CNN is a ratings disaster. It's
- 3:15Speaker 2: in last place in cable news. It has a tiny audience.
- 3:19Speaker 2: Anybody buying a company looking at this would have to
- 3:22Speaker 2: do something and turn this around and fix it up.
- 3:24Speaker 2: You can't leave it the way it is. It's a
- 3:26Speaker 2: ratings disaster. The guy that runs it, look at this guy.
- 3:30Speaker 2: He said, well, I'd like to stay. You're in last place.
- 3:33Speaker 2: You're a ratings disaster. Who the hell would want to
- 3:35Speaker 2: keep you? But here's what's really got him panicked. Ellison
- 3:39Speaker 2: is now talking about bringing in Elon Musk. Now, they
- 3:43Speaker 2: made this deal, Paramount to buy Warner Brothers Discovery for
- 3:47Speaker 2: $ 81 billion. $ 81 billion. 81 billion is what they paid
- 3:52Speaker 2: for this. Now, if you're David Ellison, how did he
- 3:55Speaker 2: get 81 billion? Well, he went to his father, Larry Ellison,
- 3:59Speaker 2: one of the great tech billionaires, and Larry Ellison put
- 4:03Speaker 2: up 40 billion of equity financing. 40 billion. So they're
- 4:08Speaker 2: carrying a lot of debt here. They owe a lot
- 4:13Speaker 2: of money on this. So they're talking to Elon Musk
- 4:16Speaker 2: about bringing him in and selling him $ 40 billion of
- 4:21Speaker 2: the company, or maybe $ 20 billion. But they want him
- 4:24Speaker 2: to become a major investor and a major partner. Now,
- 4:27Speaker 2: as you know, left-wing Democrats, the only thing they hate
- 4:31Speaker 2: more than Donald Trump, or actually, Donald Trump would be
- 4:34Speaker 2: number one, but the next on the list would be
- 4:36Speaker 2: Elon Musk. They hate him. You remember, Twitter was totally
- 4:40Speaker 2: left-wing biased. If you were a Trump person, even Trump himself,
- 4:45Speaker 2: you were banned from Twitter. Literally banned. Talk about freedom
- 4:51Speaker 2: of speech, First Amendment. If you were a Republican, MAGA, whatever,
- 4:55Speaker 2: you were banned, literally banned. Imagine the President of the
- 4:58Speaker 2: United States, they ban you from Twitter. Imagine the New
- 5:01Speaker 2: York Post, you're like the biggest newspaper in America. You
- 5:04Speaker 2: get banned from Twitter? It was that bad. So Musk
- 5:07Speaker 2: bought it and put back neutrality into it. Anybody, you know,
- 5:12Speaker 2: doesn't matter what side you're on, you're free to use Twitter.
- 5:16Speaker 2: So they don't want that at CNN. That's the thing
- 5:18Speaker 2: with Musk. He believes in You know, right down the middle, fairness,
- 5:22Speaker 2: you know, present both sides. And they don't like that
- 5:24Speaker 2: at CNN. So they are in absolute panic. They don't
- 5:30Speaker 2: know what to do. They're just going crazy at CNN. Now,
- 5:35Speaker 2: they're also mad at Gavin Newsom, who wants the support
- 5:40Speaker 2: of them. But they're mad at Gavin Newsom because he
- 5:42Speaker 2: backed this Paramount deal, this takeover. Now, there was a
- 5:47Speaker 2: big settlement. You know, all the attorney generals got together
- 5:49Speaker 2: and sued to block this merger. So Ellison and Paramount
- 5:53Speaker 2: had to make all kinds of concessions. They agreed on
- 5:57Speaker 2: all sorts of things, on how much they would spend
- 6:00Speaker 2: to keep it going. Part of the deal was they
- 6:03Speaker 2: had to agree to spend a massive figure making movies
- 6:07Speaker 2: every year, make sure they were made in America. They
- 6:10Speaker 2: guaranteed opening 30 of those movies in theaters to keep
- 6:13Speaker 2: the theaters going. But in this agreement with these attorneys general,
- 6:19Speaker 2: they didn't put anything in about layoffs. They're free to
- 6:22Speaker 2: lay off anybody they want. They're free to cut the
- 6:25Speaker 2: company down to whatever size they want. So if you
- 6:27Speaker 2: thought your left-wing attorney generals were going to protect you,
- 6:31Speaker 2: they did not in this agreement. So Benjamin Netanyahu today
- 6:36Speaker 2: at the UN, it'll be a fiery speech. He will
- 6:39Speaker 2: let everybody have it. Mamdani and the anti-Semites of the world,
- 6:43Speaker 2: he will tell them. off and expose them. That's a
- 6:46Speaker 2: good thing. He will stand up to the awful anti-Semitic UN.
- 6:51Speaker 2: He'll go after Iran. So it'll be quite a speech.
- 6:55Speaker 2: So far, the protesting is totally under control for Netanyahu.
- 6:59Speaker 2: We'll see what happens when he speaks at the UN.
- 7:02Speaker 2: And then he leaves after that. There's a couple of
- 7:05Speaker 2: little gatherings, but then he'll leave. He'll be out of
- 7:07Speaker 2: town by tonight, which is good because it's just, I mean,
- 7:11Speaker 2: we love Netanyahu, but a security nightmare. having him here.
- 7:16Speaker 2: You know that Palestinian protester, Rachel Dalzal, whatever her name is?
- 7:21Speaker 2: She's this Palestinian protester who has been quite the activist,
- 7:27Speaker 2: very anti-Israel. She's a black Palestinian woman, and she's been
- 7:34Speaker 2: protesting about what happened to her in Gaza and protesting Israel.
- 7:42Speaker 2: It turns out the whole thing's a lie. It turns
- 7:45Speaker 2: out her real name is Hannah Gahn. It turns out
- 7:48Speaker 2: she's from the suburbs of Philadelphia. It turns out she's
- 7:52Speaker 2: not black. She's white. And it turns out she's not Palestinian.
- 7:55Speaker 2: She's actually Jewish from the suburbs of Philadelphia. She's from
- 7:59Speaker 2: a very upscale, posh suburb of Philadelphia. But this is
- 8:05Speaker 2: a lot of who this anti-Semitic crowd is. They're wealthy
- 8:10Speaker 2: kids who went to Ivy League schools, got totally brainwashed,
- 8:15Speaker 2: got totally indoctrinated into this anti-Semitic left-wing kooky crap. But yeah,
- 8:24Speaker 2: she's from a nice suburb of Philadelphia. Her parents later
- 8:28Speaker 2: moved to Falls Church, Virginia, another posh suburb outside of D.C.
- 8:34Speaker 2: So she just lied about everything. It's all totally fake. Hey,
- 8:38Speaker 2: Bruce Blakeman doing very well in the real polls, the
- 8:42Speaker 2: real ones, the behind-the-scenes real polls. He's pretty much tied
- 8:47Speaker 2: with Hochul. You see all these attack ads against Blakeman.
- 8:50Speaker 2: Hochul is spending a fortune on attack ads against Hochul.
- 8:55Speaker 2: That's good. That's a good sign. That means she's in panic.
- 8:59Speaker 2: So when I tell you that behind the scenes in
- 9:01Speaker 2: the real polls, Blakeman is caught up, she has the
- 9:04Speaker 2: real polls too. And that's why she's spending a fortune here.
- 9:08Speaker 2: on these attack ads. Now, the problem is she's a
- 9:12Speaker 2: little too old school running TV commercials on TV at night. Well,
- 9:18Speaker 2: that's very few people. The battle is now won on
- 9:21Speaker 2: social media. Blakeman is much better on social media than
- 9:24Speaker 2: she is, much better. But he's all over her, going
- 9:28Speaker 2: after her left and right.
- 9:29Speaker 3: Kathy Hochul is a doormat for Zoran Mondami. He's running
- 9:34Speaker 3: the Democratic Party now. He's calling the shots.
- 9:37Speaker 2: Yeah, so he's tying her to Mamdani.
- 9:39Speaker 3: It's not a nine-point difference.
- 9:40Speaker 2: Yeah, the fake polls, the public polls, the fake ones,
- 9:44Speaker 2: deliberately rigged. But even they now have them within single digits.
- 9:49Speaker 2: And it's not nine points. They're statistically tied right now.
- 9:52Speaker 2: It's not a nine-point difference.
- 9:54Speaker 3: The Siena poll is a biased poll.
- 9:57Speaker 2: It's a Fugazi poll. I've said it over and over.
- 10:00Speaker 3: And over again, and history has shown that. I mean,
- 10:03Speaker 3: two weeks before the election, four years ago, they had
- 10:06Speaker 3: Zeldin 11 points down. So they were five and a
- 10:09Speaker 3: half points off. So this poll is completely bogus.
- 10:14Speaker 2: Yeah, what they do in these public polls, they deliberately
- 10:16Speaker 2: rig them. They put Republicans— At 23% of the sample
- 10:20Speaker 2: instead of 38% where they should be. They don't use
- 10:23Speaker 2: likely voters. They use whoever the hell they want. They
- 10:26Speaker 2: call it adults. They pick who they want. They don't
- 10:30Speaker 2: use the right demos. It's ridiculous. Blakeman is very strong.
- 10:33Speaker 2: And this is the key to winning the race. Blakeman
- 10:35Speaker 2: is very strong with independence.
- 10:37Speaker 3: I have shown that I can be independent. Kathy Hochul
- 10:42Speaker 3: is a doormat for Zoran Mondami. He's running the Democratic
- 10:45Speaker 3: Party now. He's calling the shots.
- 10:47Speaker 2: Yeah, she lives in fear of Mondami. If he turns
- 10:50Speaker 2: on her, she can't win. She needs his support and
- 10:53Speaker 2: his crazy voters. That's the only way she wins. Here's
- 10:56Speaker 2: one of these crazy, this is a Hochul ad, I think.
- 10:58Speaker 1: Puppets are my life. You tell them what to say,
- 11:01Speaker 1: they say it. No questions. But that's not what you
- 11:04Speaker 1: want in a governor. Bruce Blakeman is 100% MAGA and
- 11:09Speaker 1: stands with Trump on everything.
- 11:12Speaker 2: You know, it's funny. She's spending a fortune on attack ads,
- 11:16Speaker 2: attacking him for everything. But apparently this guy's as clean
- 11:20Speaker 2: as a whistle and he's got a phenomenal track record.
- 11:22Speaker 2: Because the only thing she found to attack him on
- 11:25Speaker 2: is he's friends with Donald Trump. He likes Donald Trump.
- 11:28Speaker 2: She can't find anything to attack him on. Nothing bad
- 11:32Speaker 2: happened while he was county executive. In fact, he did
- 11:35Speaker 2: a phenomenal job. There's nothing bad in his record. Nothing
- 11:38Speaker 2: bad with him personally. That's all she can hit him with,
- 11:40Speaker 2: that he's friends with Donald Trump. That's all she's got.
- 11:44Speaker 2: That's pretty pathetic. But help out Bruce Blakeman. You can
- 11:49Speaker 2: do it. You want to donate? You want to volunteer?
- 11:51Speaker 2: Go to BlakemanForNewYork.com. BlakemanForNewYork.com. You know, it's funny speaking of donations.
- 11:58Speaker 2: Blakeman's ex-wife, Nancy, is married to Paul McCartney. And they
- 12:06Speaker 2: have a good relationship. Paul McCartney and Blakeman have a
- 12:09Speaker 2: good relationship. It's kind of odd. Your ex-wife marries a Beatle.
- 12:14Speaker 2: So his ex-wife, Nancy, just donated 18,000 to Kathy Hochul's campaign.
- 12:20Speaker 2: But don't take it as any reflection on Bruce Bligman.
- 12:22Speaker 2: I think she had to do that because she's married
- 12:25Speaker 2: to Paul McCartney. And Paul McCartney is a big Democrat.
- 12:32Speaker 2: He hates Trump. He's not a fan of any Republican.
- 12:38Speaker 2: So that's just automatic that if you're married to Paul McCartney,
- 12:42Speaker 2: you're going to be making You're going to be making
- 12:45Speaker 2: Democratic donations. Now, McCartney, you know, and the money might
- 12:49Speaker 2: be actually from McCartney. Well, why didn't he donate it?
- 12:52Speaker 2: He can't. He's a British citizen. He's not a U.S. citizen.
- 12:56Speaker 2: So he's barred from donating to campaigns. But again, he really,
- 13:01Speaker 2: really is anti-Trump. So that explains that pretty fast. Netanyahu
- 13:07Speaker 2: speaks today at the U.N. Alan Dershowitz will be there.
- 13:10Speaker 2: He's Netanyahu's attorney. He'll be there today. And Dershowitz, he
- 13:16Speaker 2: might be helping the Trump legal case against the press.
- 13:21Speaker 2: This judge yesterday put in a restraining order. Trump banned
- 13:26Speaker 2: some crazy left-wing networks, Politico and CNN and MSNOW from
- 13:32Speaker 2: the White House. A judge has ruled against that ban.
- 13:35Speaker 2: He's put a stay on the ban. He's put a
- 13:39Speaker 2: stop to that ban for at least 14 days. What
- 13:42Speaker 2: that means is the judge thinks the press may have
- 13:45Speaker 2: a good case. So he's put the ban on hold
- 13:48Speaker 2: for 14 days. And then they go back into court.
- 13:51Speaker 2: But Dershowitz argues that Trump has every right under the
- 13:54Speaker 2: First Amendment to ban outlets from the White House. And
- 13:57Speaker 2: this has nothing to do with freedom of speech. They're
- 13:59Speaker 2: free to speak all they want, these networks. Nobody's restricting
- 14:02Speaker 2: their speech. They're just restricting physically what rooms they can
- 14:06Speaker 2: go into. But it's not like when Trump was kicked
- 14:09Speaker 2: off Twitter and all social media. That would be a
- 14:12Speaker 2: First Amendment issue. They removed him from the platform so
- 14:16Speaker 2: he couldn't speak. Trump is not shutting down Politico. He's
- 14:20Speaker 2: not shutting down CNN or MSNOW. They're free to do
- 14:24Speaker 2: whatever the hell they want. And since the ban was
- 14:26Speaker 2: in effect, they're covering Trump the same exact amount 24-7.
- 14:30Speaker 2: But Dershowitz, brilliant lawyer, he may be the one going
- 14:35Speaker 2: into court arguing this. Hey, Rosie O'Donnell? You remember she
- 14:40Speaker 2: filled in for Jimmy Kimmel? on ABC, Kimmel taking the
- 14:45Speaker 2: whole summer off. She filled in for him. And, of course,
- 14:49Speaker 2: she went after Trump every night. But there was one
- 14:51Speaker 2: skit she said ABC forced her to drop it. She
- 14:55Speaker 2: said she was going to do, she's on a podcast,
- 14:58Speaker 2: she was going to do a takeoff on the song
- 15:01Speaker 2: Danny Boy, but go after Trump. It was going to
- 15:04Speaker 2: be called Donny Boy, and it was some kind of anti-Trump.
- 15:07Speaker 2: She says the network killed it. The network said, we
- 15:09Speaker 2: don't want you to do that. She thinks it was
- 15:11Speaker 2: because there's a lawsuit between Trump and ABC going on.
- 15:15Speaker 2: But the key to this is she's on a podcast
- 15:19Speaker 2: going after ABC, attacking them. So what we really learned
- 15:24Speaker 2: from this is she filled in for a few days
- 15:28Speaker 2: for Kimmel on ABC. She thinks it went great. She
- 15:33Speaker 2: thinks she was a big hit. But obviously, if she's
- 15:36Speaker 2: now attacking them, ABC and her agents, whoever, Apparently, ABC
- 15:42Speaker 2: said to them, yeah, thanks for filling in. We don't
- 15:44Speaker 2: need you anymore. Not interested. If it was really good,
- 15:49Speaker 2: they would have started talking to her about a show,
- 15:51Speaker 2: about doing something. Let's work together. Apparently, they didn't like
- 15:55Speaker 2: what she did. They didn't like her. Apparently, the ratings
- 15:58Speaker 2: stunk because they're not interested in anything else with Rosie O'Donnell.
- 16:02Speaker 2: You can be sure that's the case if she's suddenly
- 16:04Speaker 2: going public attacking ABC. And what the hell is she
- 16:07Speaker 2: doing here? I thought she left the country. You promised
- 16:12Speaker 2: you were leaving the country. All of a sudden, she's
- 16:14Speaker 2: all over the place again. Anyway, the phones are fixed.
- 16:19Speaker 2: Remember yesterday we had no phones? The phones are fixed.
- 16:22Speaker 2: We can take some calls. We'll do that next. 800-321-0710
- 16:24Speaker 2: is the number.
- 16:25Speaker 1: 800-321-0710.
- 16:31Speaker 2: Well, we'll take some calls. 800-321-0710 is the number.
- 16:34Speaker 1: As I mentioned, the judge ruled the president cannot ban
- 16:36Speaker 1: those networks from the White House. The local left-wing D.C.
- 16:39Speaker 4: Judge ruled he cannot.
- 16:40Speaker 2: Ban them from the White House. So it turns out,
- 17:00Speaker 2: look at this. This morning, he banned them from the
- 17:02Speaker 2: White House. That's interesting. Well, what's the judge going to
- 17:06Speaker 2: do about it? We'll see. This will get interesting. Let's
- 17:09Speaker 2: take some calls. Let's go to Stephen from Glendale. Stephen,
- 17:13Speaker 2: how are you doing?
- 17:15Speaker 5: Okay, sir. I'm a first-time caller, but I've always been
- 17:20Speaker 5: listening to you or Rush Lombard. Very good. But the
- 17:25Speaker 5: thing is.
- 17:29Speaker 5: The reason why they're not closing the manhole covers is
- 17:34Speaker 5: because they're looking for a hit. And all these people
- 17:39Speaker 5: that are going into the manhole covers, they catch them,
- 17:43Speaker 5: they let them go. Well, what's the worst that can
- 17:46Speaker 5: happen to them?
- 17:47Speaker 2: I love how you make up these explanations. You just
- 17:49Speaker 2: make up this. This is why they're doing it. That's it.
- 17:52Speaker 2: All right. It's official. It's come from Stephen. That's the reason.
- 17:57Speaker 2: All right, Stephen. Thanks for calling. What he's talking about,
- 18:01Speaker 2: the lowest level of criminals, they open up a manhole cover.
- 18:06Speaker 2: Those things on the street. First of all, I don't
- 18:08Speaker 2: even know how strong you have to be to open
- 18:09Speaker 2: those manhole covers. But they open them up, and three
- 18:13Speaker 2: or four of them go down there, and they go
- 18:16Speaker 2: through the sewers. And what they're doing is they're looking
- 18:18Speaker 2: for stuff down there because, believe it or not, things
- 18:22Speaker 2: fall through those sewer grates, and they're down there. they
- 18:24Speaker 2: find bracelets, they find rings, they found iPhones. I mean,
- 18:28Speaker 2: you got to hunt through a lot of, uh, crap
- 18:33Speaker 2: to find this stuff, but that's what they do. And
- 18:36Speaker 2: they're down there going for blocks and blocks in the sewers,
- 18:39Speaker 2: picking up stuff. And they come up with these bags
- 18:42Speaker 2: filled with this stuff. And you obviously got to wash
- 18:46Speaker 2: it a million times. And I guess they resell this
- 18:48Speaker 2: stuff or hawk it. But, uh, the police don't seem
- 18:53Speaker 2: to be doing much about it. Now, there are some
- 18:55Speaker 2: people saying, because yesterday they were caught going down a
- 18:58Speaker 2: manhole cover right next to Netanyahu's hotel, the Regency. And
- 19:05Speaker 2: there are some people in law enforcement saying, you know what,
- 19:08Speaker 2: they should grab these guys as they come out of
- 19:09Speaker 2: the manhole cover and have the anti-terrorism task force interrogate them.
- 19:14Speaker 2: I mean, they're just low-level criminals working for gangs, but
- 19:18Speaker 2: somebody should look at that aspect of it before they
- 19:20Speaker 2: just let them go next time Let's go to Don
- 19:23Speaker 2: in Long Island. Don, how are you doing?
- 19:26Speaker 4: Hey, how are you doing, Mark? Great. I was wondering,
- 19:29Speaker 4: have you heard those weird stories about.
- 19:30Speaker 5: The Carnegie Deli, about the five people that got shot
- 19:33Speaker 5: above the Carnegie?
- 19:37Speaker 2: I think there was one shooting once, and it has
- 19:40Speaker 2: nothing to do with the Carnegie Deli whatsoever.
- 19:42Speaker 4: I know they had nothing to do with it.
- 19:44Speaker 2: The Carnegie used to be in a building that had
- 19:47Speaker 2: apartments on some of the floors, and there was something
- 19:49Speaker 2: going on. in one of the apartments.
- 19:51Speaker 5: Five people got shot.
- 19:54Speaker 2: I'm not sure, but I don't think it was five people.
- 19:56Speaker 2: I think it was one. But it was something.
- 19:59Speaker 5: Look online. Another story.
- 20:02Speaker 2: Okay, but it has nothing to do with the Carnegie Deli.
- 20:03Speaker 2: No connection to the Carnegie in any way.
- 20:05Speaker 5: Did you know the co-owner, Sandy Levine?
- 20:07Speaker 4: Of course.
- 20:08Speaker 2: Well, Sandy Levine came later. The real owners were Milton
- 20:12Speaker 2: Parker and Leo Steiner, of course, legendary Leo Steiner. Milton
- 20:16Speaker 2: Parker was the owner. And then the daughter of Milton
- 20:19Speaker 2: Parker at one point married this guy, Sandy Levine. So
- 20:23Speaker 2: he wasn't really a co-owner. He just married the daughter.
- 20:25Speaker 2: And he was a terrible guy.
- 20:27Speaker 4: Did you hear the story?
- 20:28Speaker 2: Terrible guy. He's dead now. And she'll be the first
- 20:32Speaker 2: to tell you he was a terrible guy. He was
- 20:33Speaker 2: going out with the waitress there. He was going out
- 20:35Speaker 2: with the waitress. He was giving away the recipes. He
- 20:37Speaker 2: was a terrible guy.
- 20:38Speaker 6: Exactly, yeah.
- 20:39Speaker 2: Yeah, awful guy. He's dead now.
- 20:41Speaker 4: I figured you'd know that. You're Mr. New York after all.
- 20:44Speaker 5: Did you get a sandwich named after you there?
- 20:46Speaker 2: I used to have one named after me. The new version,
- 20:48Speaker 2: in the old days, they had sandwiches named after people.
- 20:52Speaker 2: They don't really do that now. I think there's only one,
- 20:54Speaker 2: the Broadway Daniel Rose. But somewhere in my picture's on
- 20:57Speaker 2: the wall. You've got to go through 8,000 pictures.
- 21:00Speaker 3: Ha, ha, ha.
- 21:01Speaker 5: I've got to check it out. I haven't been there
- 21:03Speaker 5: in years.
- 21:04Speaker 2: Well, it's open to the public. You can just walk
- 21:06Speaker 2: in anytime.
- 21:08Speaker 4: Yeah, definitely. I'm going to hit it.
- 21:10Speaker 2: I've got to check it out.
- 21:11Speaker 6: Go in there.
- 21:12Speaker 2: It's open. Go take a look. Try the cheesecake. It
- 21:16Speaker 2: is phenomenal. And, of course, the legendary pastrami on rye.
- 21:21Speaker 2: It's reopened now. Marion Harper, daughter of Milton Parker, her
- 21:26Speaker 2: daughter is Sari Harper. She's now running the place. It's phenomenal.
- 21:31Speaker 2: The only thing missing, in fact, this is a new location.
- 21:34Speaker 2: It's a block away. It's where the stage jelly was.
- 21:36Speaker 2: It's got windows. It's bright and light. It's really, it's
- 21:39Speaker 2: actually a better location. The only problem is they don't
- 21:43Speaker 2: have the old grumpy old waiters. You know, those big
- 21:47Speaker 2: heavy old waiters. They're all named Herb. And they go,
- 21:49Speaker 2: what do you want? What do you want? Whatever you'd order.
- 21:51Speaker 2: You'd order 6,000 things.
- 21:52Speaker 4: What else?
- 21:53Speaker 2: What else? Now they're all young with nice personalities. So
- 21:58Speaker 2: that part is missing, but. Hey, when we come back,
- 22:00Speaker 2: the hunt for Steve Moore. We'll see if we can
- 22:03Speaker 2: find Steve Moore. I think he'll be with us next
- 22:05Speaker 2: on 710WOR. Let's get the latest news. Here's Daria Alden.
- 22:10Speaker 1: I'm not letting you off the hook that easy. What
- 22:12Speaker 1: was on that sandwich?
- 22:13Speaker 2: Pastrami on rye.
- 22:14Speaker 1: That was named after you?
- 22:16Speaker 2: Oh, the one named after me?
- 22:17Speaker 1: I was going to say, that's every sandwich there.
- 22:19Speaker 2: I've got to be honest. I don't remember. You know,
- 22:21Speaker 2: every time they name a sandwich after you, it's never
- 22:23Speaker 2: anything you'd actually eat.
- 22:26Speaker 1: I was going to say I would order it. I'd
- 22:27Speaker 1: ask for it next time I go there.
- 22:29Speaker 2: I was in a restaurant in Garden City once. They
- 22:30Speaker 2: had the Nelson DeMille sandwich. It was the worst thing.
- 22:33Speaker 2: I called him up. I said, do you actually eat this?
- 22:35Speaker 2: He goes, what? That's what they named it.
- 22:37Speaker 1: It's the Mark Simone Show. Live from the WOR LifeVac studios.
- 22:43Speaker 2: Well, Steve Moore, the brilliant economist, bestselling author.
- 22:48Speaker 4: What?
- 22:52Speaker 2: Nobody told me that. Forget what I just said. Take two. Hey,
- 22:57Speaker 2: with us right now, the brilliant comedian, Jimmy Fela, of course,
- 23:02Speaker 2: who is on WOR every night at 9 o'clock, 9 p.m.
- 23:08Speaker 2: to midnight. Jimmy Fela. You got to listen to him.
- 23:11Speaker 2: It's a great show. And then he does the best
- 23:13Speaker 2: late-night show in television. That's Saturday nights at 10 o'clock
- 23:18Speaker 2: on the Fox News Channel. And, hey, also, he's going
- 23:21Speaker 2: to be appearing. He's doing a great night of comedy,
- 23:24Speaker 2: Kuchina Kalandra. in Fairfield, New Jersey, October 28th. But get
- 23:30Speaker 2: the tickets now because it can sell out fast. Go
- 23:32Speaker 2: to 710WOR. com slash Jimmy. Jimmy Fela, how you doing?
- 23:39Speaker 4: Yeah, you know what, man?
- 23:40Speaker 6: Definitely not a brilliant economist. So thanks for cleaning up
- 23:44Speaker 6: that intro.
- 23:45Speaker 2: Well, I was told you guys were going to switch
- 23:47Speaker 2: time periods at some point. I didn't know it was
- 23:49Speaker 2: this week.
- 23:50Speaker 5: Yes, but.
- 23:52Speaker 6: I don't know that Steve Moore took my route to prosperity.
- 23:55Speaker 6: I invested most of my money in blackjack and flash dancers. And,
- 24:00Speaker 6: of course, the rest of it I wasted.
- 24:02Speaker 2: Well, you never know about that Steve Moore. He may
- 24:05Speaker 2: have put some money in there, too. You never know.
- 24:10Speaker 4: It's too funny.
- 24:11Speaker 6: Nothing like an investment strategy that pays in singles.
- 24:14Speaker 4: But anyway.
- 24:16Speaker 2: So, hey, explain this U.N.
- 24:18Speaker 4: Week.
- 24:18Speaker 2: What is the purpose of this? What the hell do
- 24:20Speaker 2: they do with that U.N.
- 24:22Speaker 4: Holy hell.
- 24:24Speaker 6: You know, it's so funny because I watched, you know, Millay,
- 24:28Speaker 6: you know, kind of read them their truth yesterday the
- 24:30Speaker 6: way Trump did.
- 24:32Speaker 4: They basically just.
- 24:33Speaker 6: Come here and shake us down and shag high-priced call girls.
- 24:37Speaker 4: I mean, honestly.
- 24:39Speaker 6: I'm trying to dress it up, but I mean, as
- 24:41Speaker 6: a former cab driver myself, this is the Super Bowl
- 24:44Speaker 6: of cab driving because the only passengers you're picking up
- 24:48Speaker 6: are women you actually have a shot with, if the
- 24:51Speaker 6: money's right. You normally, as a cab driver, don't have
- 24:55Speaker 6: a shot with any woman who looks like the ones
- 24:57Speaker 6: during UN week.
- 24:58Speaker 4: But during UN week, you're both on the clock. So everybody,
- 25:03Speaker 4: a dollar and a dream, as the old lottery commercial goes.
- 25:06Speaker 4: And that's it.
- 25:08Speaker 2: If you're a cab driver, you can't get anywhere. It's
- 25:10Speaker 2: a traffic nightmare. It's the worst gridlock ever.
- 25:12Speaker 4: A nightmare. Most veteran cabbies actually don't work this week.
- 25:17Speaker 6: If you notice, a lot of younger guys who haven't
- 25:20Speaker 6: gotten that little baptism by fire, if you will, you
- 25:22Speaker 6: figure it out. Everybody works the UN week once. Nobody
- 25:25Speaker 6: I know works it twice. Again, except the escorts. But
- 25:30Speaker 6: the point is, all of these UN coalitions... that were
- 25:34Speaker 6: all formed in a post-World War II world where we
- 25:37Speaker 6: were helping rebuild everybody and we were picking up the
- 25:40Speaker 6: tab for everything going on in Europe, have kind of
- 25:43Speaker 6: just run their course now. And the only real value
- 25:46Speaker 6: in UN week for Americans is to watch Trump show up,
- 25:50Speaker 6: do his little, you know, Don Rickles act, and they
- 25:53Speaker 6: just sit there like a cat getting a bath.
- 25:56Speaker 5: It's my favorite thing in the world.
- 25:57Speaker 6: You know, you just watch these people shrivel up and
- 26:00Speaker 6: their posture is terrible and they're all scowling.
- 26:03Speaker 4: That's UN week.
- 26:04Speaker 6: It peaked for me with the Trump speech and I
- 26:06Speaker 6: stopped watching after that.
- 26:10Speaker 2: Explain the Donald Trump personality. He's a great businessman and leader,
- 26:14Speaker 2: but he's also, you're right, he's Don Rickles. He's Howard Stern.
- 26:18Speaker 2: He doesn't care where he is or how formal it is.
- 26:21Speaker 2: He'll make jokes, tell you off as a comedian. How
- 26:24Speaker 2: do you think he does at doing that?
- 26:27Speaker 4: Well, this is where he's good, okay?
- 26:29Speaker 6: As a comic, you're really not supposed.
- 26:31Speaker 4: To read the room. You're supposed to lead the room.
- 26:33Speaker 4: You're the guy in charge. I say that all the time.
- 26:36Speaker 6: Now, as president, you're not quite a comic, so in theory,
- 26:40Speaker 6: you might want to read the room, but Trump doesn't.
- 26:42Speaker 6: I mean, don't ever forget, he told a Pearl Harbor
- 26:45Speaker 6: joke in front of the prime minister of Japan.
- 26:47Speaker 4: That is the funniest thing in the world.
- 26:50Speaker 6: That is not a guy who is mindful of his
- 26:53Speaker 6: surroundings when he starts telling jokes, so.
- 26:55Speaker 4: I love it.
- 26:56Speaker 6: You know, I don't know that everybody loves it on
- 26:58Speaker 6: the world stage, but it's great entertainment for us.
- 27:00Speaker 2: Yeah. Hey, Jimmy Fallon, explain that again, because there's people listening.
- 27:04Speaker 2: Maybe they got to make a speech now and then.
- 27:06Speaker 2: So don't read the room, lead the room. How do
- 27:08Speaker 2: you do that?
- 27:10Speaker 1: Yes.
- 27:10Speaker 6: Well, if you're a speaker, OK, whether you're a comic,
- 27:12Speaker 6: whether you're given a speech, you know, some type of
- 27:15Speaker 6: an event, banquet, whatever the case may be, you are
- 27:18Speaker 6: in theory the only guy with a microphone. So what
- 27:21Speaker 6: you need to demonstrate more than anything is that you're
- 27:24Speaker 6: in charge and you have a plan for where to go.
- 27:27Speaker 6: You know, if you think of it like an airline pilot,
- 27:29Speaker 6: a pilot doesn't come on the PA and say, if
- 27:32Speaker 6: it's okay with you people, we're going to take off
- 27:34Speaker 6: third and climb up to 37,000 feet. He just says,
- 27:38Speaker 6: you know, this is captain so-and-so.
- 27:40Speaker 4: We're fifth in line. We're taking off.
- 27:43Speaker 6: Don't forget to get the Delta card. You'll get 10
- 27:45Speaker 6: points off your next purchase.
- 27:47Speaker 5: And that's that.
- 27:48Speaker 4: He leads the room. He does not read the room.
- 27:50Speaker 4: He leads the room.
- 27:50Speaker 6: Certain jobs are leadership gigs. So if you're a comic,
- 27:54Speaker 6: that's absolutely the thing. When you go on stage, you
- 27:57Speaker 6: really have to be in charge.
- 27:58Speaker 4: First and foremost. Like if you watch my Saturday.
- 28:00Speaker 6: Night show, like I am absolutely driving that bus because
- 28:04Speaker 6: the minute they see that you're kind of deferring to them,
- 28:07Speaker 6: when they see kind of like not necessarily fear but
- 28:10Speaker 6: uncertainty on a comic's face, If you look uncomfortable, they
- 28:13Speaker 6: get uncomfortable. So the next thing you know, you're telling
- 28:16Speaker 6: a joke.
- 28:17Speaker 4: That might not otherwise land.
- 28:19Speaker 6: And instead of just missing, now you've got a flat-out
- 28:22Speaker 6: mutiny in the showroom, you know?
- 28:24Speaker 4: So you've got to be in charge. Wow.
- 28:26Speaker 2: So that's interesting stuff.
- 28:29Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 28:29Speaker 2: So UN Week is leaving. Netanyahu's going to speak today.
- 28:33Speaker 2: That's going to be great entertainment. He's going to tell
- 28:36Speaker 2: everybody off, isn't he?
- 28:38Speaker 6: Yeah, that's my favorite. And I'm sure, you know, Mom
- 28:40Speaker 6: Donnie will send in the cop from the village people
- 28:43Speaker 6: to try to arrest him or something. I mean, no
- 28:46Speaker 6: real cops coming after this guy. That whole stupid criminal
- 28:49Speaker 6: court thing is a farce. But I love the Mamdani thing,
- 28:53Speaker 6: you know, just the same, because he can't resist the
- 28:57Speaker 6: bug light of attention. You know, we said this when
- 28:59Speaker 6: he was running. He's a TikTok guy. So there'll be
- 29:03Speaker 6: a lot of grandstanding around this Netanyahu thing. But the
- 29:06Speaker 6: reality is the Netanyahu side, the pro-Israel side.
- 29:10Speaker 4: Is winning.
- 29:11Speaker 6: You know, Trump's getting, you know, unveiling this new Gaza deal.
- 29:14Speaker 6: Macklemore has been kicked off the.
- 29:15Speaker 4: Ed Sheeran tour.
- 29:17Speaker 6: OK, with the exception of a couple of blue haired
- 29:19Speaker 6: crazy people camping up in Colombia. OK, the right side
- 29:23Speaker 6: of this thing is winning. So I'll enjoy today for
- 29:25Speaker 6: that reason, too.
- 29:27Speaker 2: Hey, you know, President Trump, he had a great life
- 29:29Speaker 2: here in New York. Parties, fun, celebrities. I look at
- 29:33Speaker 2: him now. He's spending the whole day with President Xi
- 29:35Speaker 2: of China. You've seen this guy. Do you want to
- 29:38Speaker 2: spend the whole day with President Xi of China? What
- 29:40Speaker 2: was he thinking?
- 29:42Speaker 6: No.
- 29:43Speaker 4: No, I don't.
- 29:44Speaker 6: But I'd probably be nice to him because China probably
- 29:46Speaker 6: has my whole search history.
- 29:50Speaker 2: Outside of that, what would you talk to the guy about?
- 29:54Speaker 2: Even for an hour. Yeah.
- 29:57Speaker 6: Well, listen, I mean, if you were going to be frank,
- 30:00Speaker 6: there's probably a lot of.
- 30:01Speaker 4: Asian women in my search history. So we have a
- 30:04Speaker 4: starting point, Mark. I don't know if that's what you
- 30:07Speaker 4: were looking for, but here we are.
- 30:12Speaker 2: Hey, you're going to be doing this great show, Night
- 30:14Speaker 2: of Comedy at Kuchina Calandra, Fairfield, New Jersey, October 28th.
- 30:20Speaker 2: Still tickets left, right? You can still get tickets.
- 30:22Speaker 4: Yeah, I was told. Not completely sold out yet. It's
- 30:25Speaker 4: on its way.
- 30:25Speaker 6: And you can come eat spaghetti and meatballs with Jimmy Fallon.
- 30:29Speaker 4: That's exciting.
- 30:29Speaker 2: No, it is. Actually, if you want tickets, go to
- 30:34Speaker 2: 710WOR. com slash Jimmy. 710WOR. com slash Jimmy. And people can listen
- 30:40Speaker 2: to you tonight, every weeknight on WOR, 9 to midnight.
- 30:44Speaker 2: What are you going to be doing on tonight's show?
- 30:47Speaker 4: Oh, it's Thursday. So there's a lot of this crazy U.N.
- 30:51Speaker 4: reaction stuff.
- 30:52Speaker 6: Brian Bremberg's coming on because he interviewed Melania Trump yesterday.
- 30:56Speaker 6: And I want to get his take because I've met
- 30:59Speaker 6: Melania Trump when she was here to do Fox and Friends.
- 31:01Speaker 6: And I always tell people she's the nicest woman in
- 31:03Speaker 6: the world. Like she even helped me up after the
- 31:05Speaker 6: Secret Service tased me. And she didn't have to do that. So,
- 31:10Speaker 6: you know, I'm going to show the same professionalism she
- 31:12Speaker 6: did and talk to Bremberg all about her tonight.
- 31:14Speaker 2: Oh, she's great. And then make sure you watch his— he
- 31:17Speaker 2: does the best late-night show on television. It's every Saturday night,
- 31:20Speaker 2: 10 o'clock, with the single best monologue in television. And
- 31:26Speaker 2: people can get tickets to that, right? It's free?
- 31:28Speaker 4: Yeah. If you want free tickets, foxacrossamerica.com. We tape it
- 31:32Speaker 4: on Friday nights. It airs on Saturdays.
- 31:34Speaker 1: So everybody who's on the.
- 31:35Speaker 4: Show, this week we.
- 31:35Speaker 6: Have Dolph Lundgren, who played Ivan Drago in Rocky IV. Yeah.
- 31:40Speaker 4: And— Yeah, George Santos is coming by to.
- 31:43Speaker 6: Promote his OnlyFans or whatever the heck he does.
- 31:47Speaker 2: I like George Santos.
- 31:48Speaker 6: He's cute.
- 31:49Speaker 2: He's a fun guy.
- 31:49Speaker 4: He is a good guy.
- 31:52Speaker 6: And for all of the ridiculousness he's been associated with,
- 31:56Speaker 6: he's a great TV guest. So I'm really looking forward
- 31:58Speaker 6: to interviewing him. We're going to play a game called
- 32:00Speaker 6: You or False, where I ask him of rumors I've
- 32:03Speaker 6: heard about him, and he tells me if they're real
- 32:05Speaker 6: or not.
- 32:05Speaker 4: Oh, okay. So it should be good.
- 32:07Speaker 2: Hey, if you're listening, you could be in the studio audience.
- 32:09Speaker 2: You get to meet all these people. They tape Friday evening.
- 32:12Speaker 2: It's free. It's a good date if you want to
- 32:15Speaker 2: bring somebody. Don't tell them it's free. But you go
- 32:17Speaker 2: to FoxAcrossAmerica.com and you'll get the tickets. FoxAcrossAmerica.com. Make sure
- 32:23Speaker 2: you listen to Jimmy Fallon tonight, every weeknight, 9 to midnight.
- 32:27Speaker 2: It's a great show on WOR. Jimmy Fallon, brilliant as always.
- 32:32Speaker 2: Thanks for being with us.
- 32:34Speaker 4: You're the best, Mark.
- 32:35Speaker 2: Take care. So, yeah, so I guess, is this the deal?
- 32:39Speaker 2: He'll be with us at 1040 every Thursday? Well, let
- 32:42Speaker 2: me just get this straight now. We got Steve Moore
- 32:44Speaker 2: at 1140? Oh, okay, good. We had a little mix
- 32:49Speaker 2: up there. So he's on 9 to midnight every night.
- 32:54Speaker 2: I'm on 9 a.m. till noon every day, three hours now.
- 32:58Speaker 2: You got Buck and Clay coming up at noon. Great
- 33:03Speaker 2: show every day at noon. Then you got the most
- 33:04Speaker 2: listened to. Radio show in America, Sean Hannity, 3 to 6.
- 33:08Speaker 2: That's all here on 710WOR.
- 33:13Speaker 1: 9 till noon weekdays. Mark Simone. More Mark.
- 33:18Speaker 2: On 710WOR. Hey, you guys in the control room, anybody
- 33:22Speaker 2: have an upset stomach?
- 33:25Speaker 6: No?
- 33:25Speaker 2: Is it just me? I was fine when I came.
- 33:28Speaker 2: They have this buffet down there in front of the
- 33:29Speaker 2: Jim Kerr studio. Dumplings, all kinds of dumplings. I don't know.
- 33:33Speaker 2: Now I've got an upset stomach. What I ate down there. Anyway,
- 33:40Speaker 2: maybe it's from the show. Who knows? It's 57 degrees
- 33:44Speaker 2: right now. Real field temperature, 51. That summer ended fast. Actually,
- 33:52Speaker 2: next week it should get into the near 70 again
- 33:55Speaker 2: or low 70s again next week. You got the big
- 33:57Speaker 2: rainstorm coming Saturday. Hey, we got a lot to get
- 34:01Speaker 2: to in the next hour. So don't go away. It's
- 34:03Speaker 2: three hours every day now. 9 to noon. Mark Simone
- 34:07Speaker 2: here on 710 W-O-O.
