- 0:01The mind can be a powerful tool for spiritual growth or it can
- 0:07become an obstacle under certain circumstances. many devotees,
- 0:12take the position that aspiration devotion surrender to
- 0:16the Divine is the only way forward for those individuals
- 0:22that may indeed be true. Not everyone is capable of the
- 0:26kind of single focused love and surrender required to tread the
- 0:31path of devotion where the individuality is consumed in the
- 0:36love for and surrender to the Divine others, find that the
- 0:42mind has the most highly developed level of Consciousness
- 0:45manifesting more generally. Provides a tool for focusing,
- 0:50the aspiration concentrating, the force and using its powers
- 0:56of application. In detail to carry the higher
- 1:00force that is in the process of manifesting into the rest of the
- 1:04being At some point regardless of the path, one follows, the
- 1:10questions of action and reaction the vital response to life
- 1:15situations and physical needs and Cravings come into Focus for
- 1:19the seeker. And it is at this stage that a
- 1:23certain amount of mental preparation, can be
- 1:25extraordinarily beneficial. Many people find that they need
- 1:30to rely heavily on the power of the mind to tune, the awareness,
- 1:35and sort out, the distractions, obstructions and opposing forces
- 1:41that are at work to restrict the progress.
- 1:46If you're open do notes, quote at present your experiences are
- 1:51on the mental plane and quote, a disciple asks, what does on the
- 1:57mental plane mean? The mother responds quote.
- 2:03Well, these are experiences concerning thought mental
- 2:07activity. The understanding of things, the
- 2:10observation of things thought, deduction, reasoning.
- 2:16The contact with teaching knowledge.
- 2:19The result of this knowledge on your understanding.
- 2:23All these things, which are purely mental.
- 2:26And in fact, one should always begin with that.
- 2:30If one has vital experiences, for example, Visions certain
- 2:35vital experiences without having a sufficient mental preparation,
- 2:40this may result in destroying one's balance.
- 2:43And in any case, one understands nothing of what has happening.
- 2:48And it is practically useless if not harmful.
- 2:52On the other hand, if to begin with when it's developed, his
- 2:56understanding has studied as understood and knows, the reason
- 3:02for things and the goal of yoga for instance.
- 3:05And if when I studied the methods of obtaining it, indeed
- 3:09the whole mental approach to the subject then when experience
- 3:14comes, one has a chance of being able to understand what it is.
- 3:19Otherwise one understands nothing a sufficient.
- 3:23Mental preparation is needed. If not a complete one, at least
- 3:28a sufficient one, to be able to understand a little, the
- 3:33experiences which come in quote. Reference SRI aurobindo and the
