- 0:00SPEAKER_00: I feel like people are really focused on, like, oh, I'm in the feminine flow, and that's great.
- 0:04SPEAKER_00: But you can't be in that beautiful flow without the support of the masculine.
- 0:09SPEAKER_00: And so I look at that from a physical body and an emotional body perspective.
- 0:13SPEAKER_00: How are we working to support that emotional and that energetic?
- 0:17SPEAKER_00: And that's a lot of the work that I do with people.
- 0:19SPEAKER_00: You know, like, how can we just allow yourself to lead from this other place?
- 0:25SPEAKER_01: Welcome to Reclaiming Consciousness.
- 0:27SPEAKER_01: My name is Elise Bassine, spiritual mentor, breathwork practitioner, and owner and CEO of Elise Breeds.
- 0:34SPEAKER_01: For many years, our consciousness has been hijacked by societal and cultural programming, religion, the media, and familial and ancestral trauma.
- 0:43SPEAKER_01: Right now, during this epic time in history, people are waking up, realizing who they really are, and reclaiming the pieces of their consciousness that they unknowingly gave away.
- 0:55SPEAKER_01: This podcast is an exploration of how so many spectacular humans are leading the way in exiting the matrix and reclaiming who they really are and what they're capable of.
- 1:06SPEAKER_01: In this show, you'll meet exceptional people who are paving the way in raising consciousness and creating a new way of living on this earth.
- 1:13SPEAKER_01: Get ready to go deep.
- 1:15SPEAKER_01: Now let's dive in.
- 1:21SPEAKER_02: Hi everyone, welcome back to the show.
- 1:23SPEAKER_02: So on this week's episode, I have Kate Crawford, and she is a long-term client.
- 1:28SPEAKER_02: We have been working together since 2021 with really not even any breaks.
- 1:33SPEAKER_02: She took a short break when her father passed away, which you'll hear her talk about in the episode.
- 1:38SPEAKER_02: But other than that, we've been working together for a while.
- 1:41SPEAKER_02: And she is such a testament to what happens when you commit to this work long term.
- 1:47SPEAKER_02: When she started with me in 2021, she was dealing with debilitating anxiety.
- 1:52SPEAKER_02: And she has completely shifted that.
- 1:55SPEAKER_02: She left her job in healthcare and started her business doing breath work.
- 2:03SPEAKER_02: And well, you'll hear what she does.
- 2:05SPEAKER_02: She helps people create transformation by using the body as a way to find out what is blocking you.
- 2:15SPEAKER_02: And that's why it's called the secret language of the body.
- 2:18SPEAKER_02: That's her program.
- 2:19SPEAKER_02: And that is the lens through which she works with people.
- 2:22SPEAKER_02: So she specializes in working with people who have some kind of chronic pain or something going on with their body that they don't know what it is.
- 2:32SPEAKER_02: And she's able to see the root of it from an ancestral trauma, energetic, and emotional perspective.
- 2:39SPEAKER_02: So Kate, not only did she do the metamorphosis, but we worked together privately.
- 2:44SPEAKER_02: And then she also did the metamorphosis method certification.
- 2:47SPEAKER_02: So she, again, is another amazing example of someone who took the tools that she learned in the metamorphosis method certification and created her own process, her own methodology from that, which is called the secret language of the body.
- 3:05SPEAKER_02: So I love when people take, you know, what they are naturally good at and infuse my tools with that to create their own thing, which is what Hani did and also what Kate did.
- 3:17SPEAKER_02: So Kate was a physical therapist and she still does some physical therapy, and you'll hear us talk about that.
- 3:23SPEAKER_02: And she has taken these tools around ancestral trauma and family trauma and infused it with her knowledge of the body to create.
- 3:32SPEAKER_02: I mean, you'll hear she's a genius, and I love her so much.
- 3:36SPEAKER_02: And again, I cry on this episode just because I'm so just like proud of her and like I'm so in awe of the transformation that she's created.
- 3:48SPEAKER_02: And you're gonna hear her talk all about that, her process for how to use the language that your body is communicating to you, and like learning how to read that language or decode that language so you can understand how to not only move through and dissolve symptoms, but also the deeper ways that the body communicates with us and how profound it is to be able to understand that language.
- 4:17SPEAKER_02: So you're really gonna love this episode.
- 4:19SPEAKER_02: And again, Kate is a really solid example of what happens when you commit to this work long term.
- 4:29SPEAKER_02: She's been in pretty much all of my programs and the certification along with my masterminds.
- 4:36SPEAKER_02: Right now, I think the biggest thing that I want everyone to know is there is an opportunity to commit to this work long term and create permanent results for yourself for not a huge investment through the mothership membership mastermind.
- 4:51SPEAKER_02: And right now, when you join, if you join before the end of September, you will get a 60-minute private call with me and then also be included in my four-week mastermind called Turning Point, which you'll be working with me very closely to create a permanent shift to really get you to the next level.
- 5:12SPEAKER_02: Whatever that turning point is for you, you will solidify it inside of the mastermind in close proximity with me over those four weeks in October.
- 5:22SPEAKER_02: And that mastermind is only for people inside the mothership.
- 5:26SPEAKER_02: Reach out to me if you have questions about it.
- 5:28SPEAKER_02: We're gonna link it below.
- 5:29SPEAKER_02: But when you come inside the space, you have access to all of my programs, all of my trainings, everything that I put out.
- 5:36SPEAKER_02: You're included in all the live rounds, plus, you have access to all of the programs digitally.
- 5:43SPEAKER_02: It's so much content.
- 5:44SPEAKER_02: I don't even know if you can get through it in the entire year.
- 5:48SPEAKER_02: And that's why the commitment is for a year, is because it's so much.
- 5:53SPEAKER_02: And I want you to be able to go through all of it with me so that you can have the most permanent results.
- 6:00SPEAKER_02: Plus, you get a monthly call with me, a monthly live breath work session, a telegram chat, and just so much support.
- 6:07SPEAKER_02: So please reach out to me if you are thinking about joining and we will talk about if it's a fit for you.
- 6:14SPEAKER_02: But it is really just such a special space because you get deeply supported in moving through all of the programs to dissolve the childhood, relational, ancestral, and past life trauma that gets in the way of you starting your business, growing your business, or just moving in the direction in life that you want to go.
- 6:36SPEAKER_02: What I found, especially over the last four years, is that usually the reason why you feel challenged or stuck with something or why something is moving slowly is only because of trauma.
- 6:49SPEAKER_02: It's not because you don't know enough.
- 6:50SPEAKER_02: It's not because you're not good enough, it's not because you're not supposed to do it.
- 6:54SPEAKER_02: It's just that you're being invited to acknowledge and reconcile something that you have not yet looked at from your past.
- 7:02SPEAKER_02: And all of my work is geared towards helping you pinpoint what that is and then guiding you to move through it so that you can move forward with your business, grow your business, grow your income, create the relationships you want, and ultimately live the life that you desire to live.
- 7:18SPEAKER_02: So please reach out to me to chat about that or just click the link below.
- 7:22SPEAKER_02: I'm sending you all so much love and I will talk to you soon.
- 7:25SPEAKER_02: Enjoy the episode.
- 7:28SPEAKER_02: Hi, everyone.
- 7:29SPEAKER_02: Welcome back to the show.
- 7:31SPEAKER_02: So I have such an amazing guest for you today.
- 7:34SPEAKER_02: I'm so excited she's here.
- 7:36SPEAKER_02: She's actually been on the podcast.
- 7:37SPEAKER_02: We have Kate Crawford with us, and she has been a longtime client, and she's just a genius in the way that she's a genius, and you'll find that out today.
- 7:47SPEAKER_02: We're gonna talk about her work, and I also want to talk about the way that she's just so incredibly taken the tools from the metamorphosis method certification and made them into her own very unique, very profound methodology.
- 8:05SPEAKER_02: So, Kate, welcome to the show.
- 8:07SPEAKER_00: Thank you so much for having me back.
- 8:08SPEAKER_00: I'm really happy to be here.
- 8:10SPEAKER_02: Oh, I love you so much.
- 8:12SPEAKER_02: This is when I this is when I like start crying.
- 8:17SPEAKER_02: The last episode I recorded was with Hani and I cried the entire time.
- 8:22SPEAKER_02: Yeah, like touching work, especially like people like you guys.
- 8:26SPEAKER_02: I've literally been working with you for what three plus years now?
- 8:30SPEAKER_00: Yeah, in 2020, actually, like late 2020.
- 8:33SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, that's insane.
- 8:35SPEAKER_02: All right, I'll try to hold myself together.
- 8:37SPEAKER_02: So, can you just tell everyone a little bit about you and then what kind of drew you to not only just working with me, but the certification in general?
- 8:48SPEAKER_00: Hello everyone.
- 8:49SPEAKER_00: My name is Kate Crawford.
- 8:50SPEAKER_00: My background professionally is in physical therapy.
- 8:54SPEAKER_00: So I have my master's degree in physical therapy.
- 8:57SPEAKER_00: I am still a licensed physical therapist.
- 9:00SPEAKER_00: Just prior to being introduced to Elise and her work, I always lovingly say that the universe was really like pushing breath work onto me.
- 9:09SPEAKER_00: I was just finding it all these different places, and I had been experimenting just with it as like a nervous system regulation thing.
- 9:16SPEAKER_00: I was deep in the healthcare system here in Canada.
- 9:20SPEAKER_00: It was a pandemic, nobody was thriving, myself included.
- 9:24SPEAKER_00: So I really just started tuning into my breath as a way to not lose my shit every day at work, essentially.
- 9:31SPEAKER_00: And when I came across your work with a more active breath, it was really profound for me.
- 9:39SPEAKER_00: Like it was really helpful for me.
- 9:41SPEAKER_00: I'd never done anything like that before.
- 9:43SPEAKER_00: I grew up as a really competitive athlete.
- 9:47SPEAKER_00: So I really needed to get that active breathing pattern in order to move through whatever I was going through, but I'd never really done it when my body was still, and it was just like a complete game changer for me.
- 9:58SPEAKER_00: And I think our work started.
- 10:01SPEAKER_00: I went through the metamorphosis with you and then quickly was like, I need to do this.
- 10:06SPEAKER_00: I need you to teach me how to do this with people because I really wanted to incorporate it into my physical therapy practice.
- 10:13SPEAKER_00: I was like, this is gonna be such a beautiful modality for folks who really want to understand why pain is showing up in their body on a different level.
- 10:23SPEAKER_00: And at that point, I was like, yes, emotions, let's kind of tune into that a little bit.
- 10:28SPEAKER_00: But it was more just for information.
- 10:30SPEAKER_00: Once you get a language for how you're feeling, for me anyway, it's just like the best thing ever.
- 10:36SPEAKER_00: It's like priceless.
- 10:37SPEAKER_00: And that was even before you had the certification.
- 10:39SPEAKER_00: I think because you did stuff before you even had a certification.
- 10:43SPEAKER_00: I was just like, teach me, I want to know.
- 10:45SPEAKER_00: And I'm glad we had that time together because I don't know if I want to like jump right into it at that time.
- 10:50SPEAKER_00: And I'm glad that I did.
- 10:51SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think that's kind of what started it for me.
- 10:54SPEAKER_00: And then shortly after that, I started my business, even though I was just like, I have no idea what I'm doing, but I just need to do this, which was another beautiful gift of the metamorphosis, was just like this clarity on how I wanted to move.
- 11:07SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 11:07SPEAKER_02: And I think that's such a big thing that everyone gets out of it, is like that clarity.
- 11:12SPEAKER_02: Okay, this is definitely how I'm meant to move forward.
- 11:16SPEAKER_02: There's this thing that you know in the back of your mind, I know this is what I want to do, but then you like doubt yourself, or there's like all these other reasons why you're not doing it.
- 11:25SPEAKER_02: But then once you go through the metamorphosis, you are like, okay, I have to do this now.
- 11:31SPEAKER_02: And there's no reason for me to wait, wait any longer.
- 11:36SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 11:36SPEAKER_00: And what was really interesting to me, so like I'm an incredibly open and empathic individual.
- 11:42SPEAKER_00: I've always felt really overwhelmed in my body because of all the ways that I feel.
- 11:46SPEAKER_00: And through the metamorphosis, I learned how to like not really make that wrong anymore.
- 11:51SPEAKER_00: And so when I started tuning into how my body was processing the different modules in the metamorphosis, there was very specific areas where my body was talking to me.
- 12:03SPEAKER_00: And I didn't really pay attention to it.
- 12:05SPEAKER_00: Well, I did, but there's also so much other stuff going on.
- 12:08SPEAKER_00: But then going through the certification process, that really kind of informed my own way of using the tools, which was really cool.
- 12:16SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 12:16SPEAKER_02: So can you talk about your way of using them?
- 12:19SPEAKER_02: Because once you started to articulate it to me, I was like, oh my God, this is like a whole new we have a new Louise Hay on our hands here.
- 12:28SPEAKER_00: I remember I'm like, is this a thing?
- 12:30SPEAKER_02: Do you think this is a thing?
- 12:31SPEAKER_02: Because it's really clear to me, but I don't know if I know, and it was so cool because for me, that's just not my lens, it's through the body.
- 12:38SPEAKER_02: But when you were able to take these things that I was teaching, like the ancestral trauma, and you're like, Oh yeah, your ancestral trauma shows up in your lower back, and it's because of this.
- 12:47SPEAKER_00: And I was like, Okay, like so, yeah, can you tell us about that?
- 12:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah, absolutely.
- 12:56SPEAKER_00: I think the first thing for me, I remember I had this crazy neck pain when I was going through the work untangling and understanding the relationship with my dad.
- 13:08SPEAKER_00: And each time I would dive into anything around like that energetic pattern, I would just get this really bad neck pain.
- 13:18SPEAKER_00: And I was just like, that's really interesting.
- 13:20SPEAKER_00: Like, what is that about?
- 13:22SPEAKER_00: And that's where it started for me.
- 13:24SPEAKER_00: I just asked that question.
- 13:26SPEAKER_00: And then through the breath work sessions, a lot of information would come to me.
- 13:32SPEAKER_00: It started with that relationship, with that dynamic.
- 13:35SPEAKER_00: I then started to look at it from like an energetic perspective.
- 13:40SPEAKER_00: So if we look at the father, we look at that pattern of energy, the language of that pattern of masculine energy, right?
- 13:49SPEAKER_00: It's a pattern and a language of like support and stability and security.
- 13:55SPEAKER_00: And then I was like, well, that's really interesting.
- 13:57SPEAKER_00: Like the neck, the cervical spine, that's what it does, stabilizes, right?
- 14:02SPEAKER_00: Like it supports the skull.
- 14:04SPEAKER_00: It's part of the spine, which is like the main support structure of the body.
- 14:09SPEAKER_00: And then I just started diving in from a very like mechanical and anatomical way.
- 14:13SPEAKER_00: Like, what are some of the other areas in the body that really just support and stabilize?
- 14:20SPEAKER_00: And then I started seeing this pattern of energy with clients that I was working with.
- 14:26SPEAKER_00: Most people come to me with pain, and then I really help to uncover what that pain means from an energetic and an emotional perspective.
- 14:35SPEAKER_00: And oftentimes, people that were coming to me with pain in the spine or pain in the pelvis or pain in the hips, like these very anatomical, like structural places that are meant to like stabilize and support and move forward and maintain equilibrium and balance and alignment and all these very like masculine, energetic kind of like language, they always had this energetic pattern that was related to the male.
- 15:04SPEAKER_00: They usually had pain on the right side of the body that very much in connects in with that like sacred masculine energy.
- 15:12SPEAKER_00: And there was always like this flavor of like codependency, right?
- 15:15SPEAKER_00: And that comes back to that very like masculine language of if everyone around me feels safe and secure, and then I can feel safe and secure.
- 15:22SPEAKER_00: I just need to make sure that everyone is okay, and then I can be okay.
- 15:26SPEAKER_00: And so it was never really about the faulty physical movement pattern, although they all had them, but their faulty physical movement pattern was at the root like this emotional pattern of like codependency.
- 15:40SPEAKER_00: And once you start to look at it from that perspective and you start to shift that energy, then the pain in the body would go away.
- 15:47SPEAKER_00: That kind of started me in on these energetic patterns that I was seeing with clients.
- 15:52SPEAKER_00: And it does, it beautifully matches up with the masculine.
- 15:56SPEAKER_00: I break that down with the relationship with the dad.
- 15:59SPEAKER_00: It also beautifully matches up with the feminine, that relationship with the mother and the left side of the body.
- 16:04SPEAKER_00: And then when I started tuning into like ancestral and intergenerational stuff, that very much coincided with chronic pain, chronic disease, autoimmune dysfunction, some of these really terrible diagnoses that mostly women get that have been passed down from generation to generation or have skipped a generation.
- 16:24SPEAKER_00: It's crazy in my family.
- 16:26SPEAKER_00: But yeah, so that's how I started breaking down these patterns of energy.
- 16:30SPEAKER_00: And it's primarily how I'm working with people now.
- 16:32SPEAKER_02: It's so cool because it's really like through the language of the body.
- 16:38SPEAKER_02: And I think for me, I always knew that there was an emotional component behind every like physical symptom that we have.
- 16:47SPEAKER_02: Even though I think a lot of people know that, it's still not like a widely used way that people look at things, right?
- 16:54SPEAKER_02: So even though we might know that, it would still be like, oh, well, it's like a structural issue.
- 17:00SPEAKER_02: Or even as a physical therapist, no one is looking at it that way, right?
- 17:05SPEAKER_02: They're just like, oh, you need to like mechanically change something, right?
- 17:09SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 17:09SPEAKER_00: And you can, you can do that, but it's not going to change anything.
- 17:14SPEAKER_00: I'm just here to scream from the rooftops that like the physical body is just straight up done being the primary focus.
- 17:21SPEAKER_00: It doesn't want to be the primary focus.
- 17:23SPEAKER_00: It was never intended to be the primary focus.
- 17:26SPEAKER_00: It's just that people make a shit ton of money off of the physical body being the primary focus.
- 17:31SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 17:32SPEAKER_00: And we can gain a ton of information and insight into what is going on on an emotional level, because that's really hard for humans to tap into when we go at it from the lens of the physical body, but it's only ever about the emotional and the energetic.
- 17:48SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 17:49SPEAKER_00: And that language, if we're just looking at that from a purely like language perspective, the emotional body and the energetic body is such a beautiful feminine language.
- 17:59SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 18:00SPEAKER_00: Like we come onto this planet, we all are instantly receiving and allowing.
- 18:07SPEAKER_00: As soon as we come onto this place and everyone just makes it wrong.
- 18:12SPEAKER_00: Like it's so easy to focus on the wrong.
- 18:14SPEAKER_00: And then we carry that on to the physical.
- 18:16SPEAKER_00: We carry that into like pain and how we feel.
- 18:19SPEAKER_00: And yeah, like it's that emotional and that energetic way of being and understanding, focusing on that as a human experience instead of the physical body that desires to be a focus.
- 18:29SPEAKER_00: And what is so beautiful to me is that you can't have one without the other.
- 18:33SPEAKER_00: I feel like people are really focused on, like, oh, I'm in the feminine flow, and that's great.
- 18:38SPEAKER_00: But you can't be in that beautiful flow without the support of the masculine.
- 18:42SPEAKER_00: And so I look at that from a physical body and an emotional body perspective.
- 18:46SPEAKER_00: How are we working to support that emotional and that energetic?
- 18:50SPEAKER_00: And that's a lot of the work that I do with people, you know, like how can we just allow yourself to lead from this other place?
- 18:57SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 18:58SPEAKER_02: And also the physical body is just a mirror or representation of what's going on on a deeper emotional level.
- 19:06SPEAKER_02: And I think that's the thing that is hard for people to understand and like also be able to interpret that language, which is like what the secret language of the body is, how to interpret that language.
- 19:20SPEAKER_02: And it's interesting because I feel like for me, I've been able to, I think I told you some examples for myself of like how I'm able to see very clearly a lot if I have a physical pain, what it is representative of.
- 19:35SPEAKER_02: And typically, once I really acknowledge what it is, it goes away, which I find really interesting from a perspective of chronic pain.
- 19:45SPEAKER_02: What if all it takes is for you to just like get the message?
- 19:49SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 19:50SPEAKER_00: It's a huge part of it.
- 19:52SPEAKER_00: But there's a lot wrapped up in that for people, where it's like a complete identity shift.
- 19:57SPEAKER_00: And that's where the work comes in.
- 19:58SPEAKER_00: That's where people really need support with this work.
- 20:02SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 20:02SPEAKER_02: So let's go back a little bit because I want to go deeper into some of the aspects of the metamorphosis method and like how it correlates.
- 20:11SPEAKER_02: So can we go deeper into like the mother wound, for example?
- 20:15SPEAKER_02: And what was your process with that for yourself?
- 20:18SPEAKER_02: And then, like, how did you take that and make your kind of work around the mother wound?
- 20:25SPEAKER_02: Like, what does that look like through your perspective?
- 20:27SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 20:28SPEAKER_00: So again, I just love language.
- 20:31SPEAKER_00: Like, I really wanted to be like a creative writing major in like university.
- 20:35SPEAKER_00: And I was like, gonna write books and stuff.
- 20:37SPEAKER_00: That didn't happen.
- 20:38SPEAKER_00: It's totally fine.
- 20:39SPEAKER_00: You can still write books.
- 20:40SPEAKER_00: I think you're definitely gonna write a book about this.
- 20:42SPEAKER_00: I probably will, yeah.
- 20:43SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 20:44SPEAKER_00: I probably already have a book written, actually.
- 20:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you probably do.
- 20:48SPEAKER_00: So with the mother wound, this for me and the work that I do with people very much lines up with the left side of the body.
- 20:58SPEAKER_00: So the feminine energetic side of being in a human body from a more like holistic approach with the patterns of energy with the mother wound.
- 21:10SPEAKER_00: I often find that, and it was this this for me, and I often find with clients that there'll be like an underlying diagnosis of like heart disease or asthma, or when they were a kid, they had asthma, or they had really bad back pain.
- 21:26SPEAKER_00: You see a lot of children come into physical therapy with like postural issues, and you're just like, well, that doesn't make any sense because you're like seven.
- 21:33SPEAKER_00: So but oftentimes what that is, is it's not so much the kid, it's what's going on with their mother in that relationship and that dynamic.
- 21:42SPEAKER_00: And I saw this all the time working in pediatrics.
- 21:45SPEAKER_00: I just didn't make the correlation back then.
- 21:47SPEAKER_00: But the primary energetic pattern with the mother wound is this pattern of like hypervigilance and over responsibility.
- 21:55SPEAKER_00: And I think anyone listening today that is a mom can understand that.
- 21:59SPEAKER_02: Well, it doesn't really.
- 22:00SPEAKER_02: All we talk about, you and I.
- 22:01SPEAKER_00: I know because this is my pattern.
- 22:04SPEAKER_00: This is my pattern.
- 22:05SPEAKER_00: But I am you.
- 22:06SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 22:06SPEAKER_00: And I think this pattern, this feeling of over-responsibility, bleeds into the three main patterns that I see and that I work with.
- 22:15SPEAKER_00: But yeah, the motheroon really corresponds to this energetic pattern of over-responsibility, hypervigilance, this way that you just feel responsible for the outcomes and the well-being of everyone around you.
- 22:28SPEAKER_00: And it there's this deep ancient responsibility here.
- 22:32SPEAKER_00: This isn't just a like doo-doo doo, oh, I'm doing that again.
- 22:35SPEAKER_00: It's hooked into you.
- 22:37SPEAKER_00: You are just like in despair.
- 22:39SPEAKER_00: Like you don't understand the feeling, right?
- 22:41SPEAKER_00: Like it's just so tied into like your identity and your way of being.
- 22:47SPEAKER_00: And this pattern of energy typically shows up, like I said, on the left side of the body or in that mid-body area.
- 22:55SPEAKER_00: So you look at like the thoracic spine, which interestingly enough is the largest segment of the spine, and no one ever pays attention to it.
- 23:04SPEAKER_00: It's like all the attention goes where is the because when people say that, like in yoga, it's in between the neck and the low back.
- 23:11SPEAKER_00: Oh, okay.
- 23:12SPEAKER_00: So it's right in the middle.
- 23:13SPEAKER_00: And everyone always focuses on the neck and the low back, which very much tie into that father wound masculine side of stuff.
- 23:20SPEAKER_00: But it's the mid-back where you're gonna feel like that heavy, that aching, like you just feel like the weight of the world is on you.
- 23:29SPEAKER_00: That's very much tied into that energy of over-responsibility.
- 23:33SPEAKER_02: Can we like talk about the over-responsibility more?
- 23:35SPEAKER_02: Like, because I feel there's so many different implications of it.
- 23:40SPEAKER_02: Let's talk about it from the perspective of a child when you're a child and why you would take that on as a pattern, but then also from the perspective of a mom, which is obviously something that we talk about a lot, and then how it shows up there too.
- 23:57SPEAKER_02: And then also what we can do about it.
- 24:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 24:01SPEAKER_00: So I think the main feeling for me, or like what it sounded like, and what I see most often with my clients, is just like, who do I have to be in this moment to receive love?
- 24:12SPEAKER_00: What version of me has to do the thing right now to receive love in a safe way?
- 24:17SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 24:18SPEAKER_00: Which is emotional.
- 24:19SPEAKER_00: Like I get emotional about that because it's such a huge part of like how I would show up.
- 24:23SPEAKER_00: It's such a huge part of where my clients start.
- 24:26SPEAKER_00: And then it's not just that, it's who do I have to be to do that and then not be made wrong or be criticized just for like who I am on a very like authentic level.
- 24:36SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 24:36SPEAKER_02: And then it also internalizes the belief that there's something wrong with me and who I am authentically is not lovable.
- 24:46SPEAKER_02: And I think that that is one of the major reasons why starting a business can be really hard for people.
- 24:54SPEAKER_02: Because if you have a feeling deep internally and that's unconscious that you are not lovable for who you are, or there's something wrong with who you are, think of how putting yourself out there would feel.
- 25:07SPEAKER_02: It would feel excruciating and terrifying.
- 25:10SPEAKER_02: Cause you're just like putting yourself.
- 25:12SPEAKER_02: So it's just you're like putting yourself up for criticism.
- 25:16SPEAKER_02: And it really feels like excruciating.
- 25:19SPEAKER_02: Cause I know this is something we've worked through a lot.
- 25:21SPEAKER_02: And I'm curious what you would have to say about like how working through that and what it feels like to come out on the other side.
- 25:29SPEAKER_02: I know we all still come up against it, right?
- 25:32SPEAKER_02: Most humans, I would say probably 95% of humans are women.
- 25:38SPEAKER_02: But what was that journey like for you?
- 25:41SPEAKER_02: And what are some of the ways that you have transcended it?
- 25:45SPEAKER_02: Because I think that'll be helpful for people too.
- 25:47SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 25:48SPEAKER_00: So I do bump up against this quite a bit still.
- 25:52SPEAKER_00: I think that's part of the human experience in a really beautiful way.
- 25:56SPEAKER_00: I think the difference now for me is that through this process, I do feel authentic feelings of love and connection.
- 26:05SPEAKER_00: And I can source those from within myself.
- 26:07SPEAKER_00: I didn't know how to do that before.
- 26:10SPEAKER_00: And now I do.
- 26:11SPEAKER_00: And I often need reminders that I can do that.
- 26:14SPEAKER_00: But this way that I can look back at the feeling, right?
- 26:20SPEAKER_00: Like for me, it's it's such an intense feeling, and the intensity still comes.
- 26:25SPEAKER_00: But now the feeling comes.
- 26:28SPEAKER_00: I have so much love and compassion for the feeling, right?
- 26:31SPEAKER_00: And for myself, that I am able to just kind of like invite that part of me along to then move through the feeling.
- 26:42SPEAKER_00: And then I think it's in that way that you just get to rewrite the story behind the feeling.
- 26:48SPEAKER_00: Do you know what I mean?
- 26:49SPEAKER_00: Everyone is so focused on getting rid of the feeling as I was.
- 26:52SPEAKER_00: And then, oh, well, it's not really about that.
- 26:55SPEAKER_00: That's not why we're here.
- 26:56SPEAKER_00: That's not what we signed up for.
- 26:57SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 26:58SPEAKER_00: The feelings are still gonna come.
- 27:00SPEAKER_00: We just get to have a different, beautiful story for the feeling.
- 27:04SPEAKER_00: And once I started doing that on a regular basis, it's like the ultimate nervous system reset.
- 27:11SPEAKER_00: It is doing this deeper work where you just get to have so much love and compassion for yourself that you're like, okay, I do feel this way, but we're good.
- 27:21SPEAKER_00: We're gonna move through it.
- 27:22SPEAKER_00: Who needs to come along?
- 27:23SPEAKER_00: Fantastic.
- 27:24SPEAKER_00: Get all our decks in a row and let's continue to move.
- 27:27SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I agree.
- 27:28SPEAKER_02: And it's also about the inner child stuff.
- 27:31SPEAKER_02: You get to the point where you completely understand why that younger version of you felt that way and you have compassion instead of making it wrong and pushing it away.
- 27:43SPEAKER_02: And like when you really can have context for why you feel, like you said in the beginning, to have language for what it is that you feel is like the biggest gift.
- 27:52SPEAKER_02: Because when you have a context for like, oh, well, the five-year-old me felt completely isolated, alone, not unsupported.
- 28:02SPEAKER_02: There was something wrong with her.
- 28:04SPEAKER_02: So of course it makes sense that I would feel this way.
- 28:08SPEAKER_02: And then, like, when you can have that level of like acceptance and compassion and acknowledgement, it integrates in this way.
- 28:16SPEAKER_02: It's not taking you over, it's not driving the bus.
- 28:20SPEAKER_02: It's just like a part that you can say, like, oh yes, I love you, younger version of me.
- 28:27SPEAKER_02: And you can continue to move forward.
- 28:29SPEAKER_02: I always say this to people like, we're not getting rid of anything.
- 28:32SPEAKER_02: This is not about like banishing something, it's actually the opposite.
- 28:37SPEAKER_02: It's embracing this part of you because when you embrace it, that's when the shift happens.
- 28:43SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that is the only way that the shift happens.
- 28:46SPEAKER_02: Yeah, absolutely.
- 28:48SPEAKER_02: Because I feel like for you, when you were able to do that, that's when it felt so much easier for you to show up in your business.
- 28:57SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 28:58SPEAKER_00: And show up with clients too, I think.
- 29:00SPEAKER_00: And in all aspects, too.
- 29:02SPEAKER_00: Like even as a mom and as a healthcare provider in a very chaotic, broken system.
- 29:09SPEAKER_00: Like, I am able to still show up in a way that works really well for me.
- 29:14SPEAKER_00: And it's incredible how well my clients do.
- 29:18SPEAKER_00: I don't even really do that much with them.
- 29:21SPEAKER_02: Well, and also I feel like it was so cool the way you were able to manifest this very easy, manageable, doable way of being a physical therapist while you grow your business.
- 29:33SPEAKER_02: Well, I know we celebrated at the time, but it's such an incredible manifestation that you created in this process, too.
- 29:41SPEAKER_00: It really was.
- 29:42SPEAKER_00: Like, I just we got back in Costa Rica and I was just like, okay, this is what I need right now.
- 29:48SPEAKER_00: It was literally like the next day.
- 29:49SPEAKER_00: Someone was like, I have this part-time position in the community where like you're never in an office and you get to travel all around and work with really amazing people.
- 29:59SPEAKER_00: I was like, Yes, please.
- 30:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's not even every day, right?
- 30:04SPEAKER_02: It's just the morning.
- 30:06SPEAKER_00: Well, I switched it to two days a week one week and then three days a week the next week, just once the kids went back to school, it was just easier for like pickups and stuff.
- 30:14SPEAKER_00: But those aren't even that bad.
- 30:17SPEAKER_00: Like, I just spend a lot of time in the vehicle and I'll go to the beach to do my notes and stuff.
- 30:22SPEAKER_00: It's really lovely.
- 30:23SPEAKER_02: That's amazing.
- 30:24SPEAKER_02: I love when stuff like that happens.
- 30:26SPEAKER_02: It was so supportive.
- 30:28SPEAKER_02: And I feel like there's also this way that for you, and I think that it's like this for a lot of people, and it was even like this for me as a school counselor, it's the actual being a school counselor and working with the kids.
- 30:40SPEAKER_02: I loved that.
- 30:41SPEAKER_02: I really enjoyed that.
- 30:42SPEAKER_02: It was just everything else that was an issue.
- 30:46SPEAKER_02: So, like if you could manifest this way to still get to work with people, but not really have to deal with any of the other crap and have enough time to build your business, it's literally the best.
- 30:57SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 30:58SPEAKER_00: It's interesting to me because I go into people's homes and the population that I work with is a geriatric population.
- 31:07SPEAKER_00: And I've started diving into a lot of memory and cognitive impairment stuff, which has been like so fascinating to me as a helper who really is interested in the emotional well-being of people and how that contributes to their health and wellness.
- 31:26SPEAKER_00: So a lot of my clients are older, they've just been giving like a terminal diagnosis, or they're palliative, or I'm spending a lot of time with a caregiver who's under extreme caregiver burnout and their partner's waiting to go into a nursing home.
- 31:42SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 31:42SPEAKER_00: Like these really intense dynamics, like there's nothing on a physical therapy standpoint I'm doing there other than just like holding a really safe emotional space for them to just have their experience, you know?
- 31:53SPEAKER_00: And it's just, it's really beautiful.
- 31:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's amazing.
- 31:58SPEAKER_02: Okay, so we talked about like the mother wound stuff.
- 32:01SPEAKER_02: And then as you went through the program and you started to like continue to integrate all this stuff, then you created these three major energy patterns that you teach.
- 32:13SPEAKER_02: So let's talk about that.
- 32:14SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so we already quickly talked about the first one, which is that energy of codependency.
- 32:20SPEAKER_00: That one really ties into the relationship you have with your father or your primary male caregiver.
- 32:27SPEAKER_00: That energetic pattern very much sounds like I can feel safe and secure when everybody else feels safe and secure.
- 32:33SPEAKER_00: And so the main areas that this pattern shows up are again, right side of the body, the spine, primarily like neck and the low back, hips and shoulders.
- 32:45SPEAKER_00: And the main emotions that typically go with this energetic pattern are anger.
- 32:50SPEAKER_00: So either you were a really angry kid and that anger was made wrong, or you weren't allowed to have an experience of anger.
- 32:59SPEAKER_00: Like no one allowed you.
- 33:00SPEAKER_00: They were just like really quick to like shut it down.
- 33:03SPEAKER_00: Or you're like the person that's like, Well, I don't get angry.
- 33:06SPEAKER_02: That was me, actually.
- 33:07SPEAKER_02: That was me.
- 33:09SPEAKER_00: Was it?
- 33:10SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I was the angry kid.
- 33:11SPEAKER_00: I like I was always angry.
- 33:13SPEAKER_00: My mom has like, anyway, more forgets for another day.
- 33:18SPEAKER_00: So that's the first energetic pattern, that pattern of codependency.
- 33:23SPEAKER_00: Sorry.
- 33:23SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 33:24SPEAKER_02: Can you illustrate?
- 33:25SPEAKER_02: Because I think it's so great to illustrate this stuff with examples.
- 33:28SPEAKER_02: Can you talk about your anger as a kid and then like how that showed up through this pattern?
- 33:36SPEAKER_02: Can you like use that as an example to illustrate this pattern, is what I'm saying.
- 33:40SPEAKER_00: I can.
- 33:40SPEAKER_00: What I often find with this pattern, and it was for me too.
- 33:44SPEAKER_00: So I have a perfect example.
- 33:46SPEAKER_00: I lost my dad about a year and a half ago.
- 33:48SPEAKER_00: He got sick really, really quickly, and then he died really quickly.
- 33:52SPEAKER_00: Like it was just really, really quick.
- 33:54SPEAKER_00: There's been a lot of complicated grief in and around it.
- 33:58SPEAKER_00: But when he was sick, I got this really bad lower back pain.
- 34:02SPEAKER_00: I don't get a lower back pain.
- 34:04SPEAKER_00: Came out of nowhere, all emotional.
- 34:06SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 34:07SPEAKER_00: Like I hadn't done anything.
- 34:08SPEAKER_00: I like couldn't move.
- 34:10SPEAKER_00: It was so bad.
- 34:11SPEAKER_00: And around the same time, my dad had an opportunity to get a treatment.
- 34:18SPEAKER_00: He had a brain tumor and it was inoperable, but they could do like this gamma knife radiation thing in his brain.
- 34:25SPEAKER_00: I knew he didn't want to do it.
- 34:27SPEAKER_00: I knew he did not want to do it.
- 34:29SPEAKER_00: And like there was just a lot of family dynamics going on.
- 34:32SPEAKER_00: It wasn't really sure if it was going to work or not.
- 34:35SPEAKER_00: But he was like humming and hawing it.
- 34:38SPEAKER_00: He had to go to Quebec.
- 34:39SPEAKER_00: It was this whole thing.
- 34:40SPEAKER_00: And during this whole conversation about it, I was just angry.
- 34:44SPEAKER_00: I was angry, I was so angry around this time.
- 34:47SPEAKER_00: And I was like making it really wrong because I just wanted to be there for my dad.
- 34:51SPEAKER_00: And there wasn't even an expectation that we would all go to Quebec with him.
- 34:56SPEAKER_00: But I took some time, I did my process and I tuned into the back pain.
- 35:00SPEAKER_00: And the back pain was really about me not actually desiring to go to Quebec with my dad to like help him through this treatment.
- 35:07SPEAKER_00: I know that's a big deal.
- 35:08SPEAKER_00: Like, I should want to go to do that.
- 35:11SPEAKER_00: I didn't want to.
- 35:12SPEAKER_00: I didn't want to because I knew he didn't really want to go.
- 35:14SPEAKER_00: So I decided not to go.
- 35:16SPEAKER_00: I had a good conversation with him and it was really, really hard.
- 35:20SPEAKER_00: And I was just really honest with him, and my back pain went away.
- 35:24SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 35:25SPEAKER_02: I feel like there's so many layers to this, right?
- 35:27SPEAKER_02: There was a layer of him, of that moment, right?
- 35:31SPEAKER_02: And how that showed up.
- 35:33SPEAKER_02: And then also there was like the anger from childhood with him, too, that I feel like also is a huge representation of this too.
- 35:42SPEAKER_02: So do you mind talking about that a little bit?
- 35:45SPEAKER_00: No, not at all.
- 35:46SPEAKER_00: My relationship with anger has been like interesting.
- 35:51SPEAKER_00: When I was younger, I was an angry kid.
- 35:54SPEAKER_00: I had a lot of emotions and I was like the complicated emotional child, and my brother was like the easy energy child.
- 36:01SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 36:02SPEAKER_00: Like, and it just wasn't okay.
- 36:03SPEAKER_00: And I remember my dad would, he would laugh at me.
- 36:07SPEAKER_00: Like he would laugh at my anger.
- 36:08SPEAKER_00: He would be like, Oh my gosh, you're so cute when you're mad.
- 36:11SPEAKER_00: But there was also this other side of it where my dad was very much on this like crazy spiritual journey when my brother and I were in childhood, young kids.
- 36:22SPEAKER_00: He just was like, anger, you don't need anger.
- 36:24SPEAKER_00: Like he was like this super enlightened being where he's just like, we don't need to have anger.
- 36:29SPEAKER_02: So it was like gaslighting you.
- 36:31SPEAKER_02: Like you're not allowed to have this emotion that's like anger.
- 36:36SPEAKER_00: Yeah, anger is just not a thing.
- 36:38SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, actually, it's a super helpful emotion.
- 36:41SPEAKER_00: And I am angry.
- 36:42SPEAKER_00: And I would run away to we lived out in the middle of nowhere.
- 36:44SPEAKER_00: I'd run away to the backfield and no one would come look for me.
- 36:47SPEAKER_00: Like it was the whole thing.
- 36:49SPEAKER_02: I feel like so much of the spiritual stuff that was going on, you know, in like the 80s and 90s and stuff was so much about that.
- 36:57SPEAKER_02: Oh, just everything is love and everything's like positive, and it like completely has no space for any other human emotion.
- 37:06SPEAKER_02: And as a kid, that must have been like so confusing slash enraging to be told that that's not a valid thing to feel.
- 37:20SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 37:20SPEAKER_00: And so I think I just got to a point where I was just like, okay.
- 37:24SPEAKER_00: That's when my chronic pain started.
- 37:26SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 37:27SPEAKER_00: And it was very early on.
- 37:28SPEAKER_00: It was like debilitating migraines all the time.
- 37:31SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 37:32SPEAKER_02: So you would say the debilitating migraines were from suppressed anger.
- 37:37SPEAKER_00: It was the anger, it was the defensiveness.
- 37:40SPEAKER_00: And then the way that like over-responsibility piece bleeds all over these beautiful energetic patterns.
- 37:46SPEAKER_00: It was, it was very much about like, okay, well, when I'm angry, everyone is not okay.
- 37:51SPEAKER_00: I'm responsible for how people are going to react.
- 37:54SPEAKER_00: And I just need to not be that way.
- 37:56SPEAKER_02: So you're not allowed to have your experience so that everyone else is okay.
- 38:01SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 38:02SPEAKER_02: That's a horrible place to be.
- 38:04SPEAKER_02: So a migraine seems like a pretty valid expression of that energy.
- 38:09SPEAKER_00: It's like a volcano, right?
- 38:10SPEAKER_00: It felt like that.
- 38:11SPEAKER_00: Like it was just this pressure would build and build and build.
- 38:15SPEAKER_00: And then it had nowhere to go.
- 38:17SPEAKER_00: And it would just stay in my head and it would just pound and throb.
- 38:20SPEAKER_00: It just needed to go somewhere.
- 38:22SPEAKER_00: Like I don't have those anymore.
- 38:25SPEAKER_00: I have a very healthy relationship with anger.
- 38:27SPEAKER_00: It is like my favorite emotion now.
- 38:29SPEAKER_02: Yeah, no, I think it's such an important emotion to have.
- 38:33SPEAKER_02: Okay, so just really quick before we go back to the other patterns, what would you say to people who have chronic migraines?
- 38:40SPEAKER_02: Because I know that's obviously a number of people.
- 38:44SPEAKER_00: The first order of business would be to go to when you first started getting migraines.
- 38:50SPEAKER_00: A lot of times it's when you hit puberty or it's before puberty.
- 38:54SPEAKER_00: It's around this very like teenage angsty time and everyone's, oh, it's your hormones.
- 38:58SPEAKER_00: Well, it's not your hormones.
- 39:00SPEAKER_00: It can be, but it's also like these other things.
- 39:03SPEAKER_00: Go back to when the migraines first started or the headaches first started and just tune in to what was going on in your life at that time.
- 39:12SPEAKER_00: And that's the only place you need to start.
- 39:13SPEAKER_00: It's not about figuring out, it's not about fixing, it's about getting to the underlying emotion of like how you were feeling at that time.
- 39:22SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that makes a lot of sense.
- 39:24SPEAKER_00: It's a great place to start and get support around it because when we start to develop a language for like the pain we feel in the body, there's a lot of stuff that comes up.
- 39:34SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 39:34SPEAKER_02: So you would say it's not necessarily related to like one parent or the other.
- 39:39SPEAKER_02: It could be anything, but it's just more of the way that your body processed and internalized a traumatic moment.
- 39:47SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 39:47SPEAKER_02: Or a series of traumatic moments.
- 39:50SPEAKER_02: That makes sense.
- 39:51SPEAKER_02: So that's the first pattern of energy is the codependency.
- 39:54SPEAKER_02: Then what's the next one?
- 39:56SPEAKER_00: The second pattern of energy is this pattern of hypervigilance or over-responsibility.
- 40:02SPEAKER_00: The language here very much ties in with the relationship with the mom, that feminine energy, just the patterns of being, I guess.
- 40:10SPEAKER_00: So for me, it sounds like who do I have to be in this moment to like receive love and not be made wrong?
- 40:18SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 40:18SPEAKER_00: And I think this really comes back to those like authentic.
- 40:21SPEAKER_00: It's like, how do we start to gain and foster this relationship with yourself where you can get those feelings of love and connection from yourself?
- 40:31SPEAKER_00: Authentic feelings of like love and support.
- 40:34SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 40:35SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 40:35SPEAKER_02: So let's talk about that a little bit because I feel like so many people that I work with and you work with too will come in and they are lacking that feeling from their mom, right?
- 40:46SPEAKER_02: That secure attachment, that safe connection, or there's like a void of not getting what you needed from your mom.
- 40:56SPEAKER_02: And it's just because she wasn't capable of giving it to you.
- 40:59SPEAKER_02: And then when that is not acknowledged, it creates a lot of resentment, or people have like contentious relationships with their mothers, or it's hard for them to be around their moms, like that type of thing.
- 41:10SPEAKER_02: And that's how I was too.
- 41:12SPEAKER_02: Like it was very hard for me to be around my mom for long periods of time up until recently.
- 41:18SPEAKER_02: Because of all of this, how from your perspective do we not only acknowledge that, but then really start to be able to source those feelings from within?
- 41:29SPEAKER_02: Because I think so many people are frozen in that place of the needing it and not getting it.
- 41:34SPEAKER_02: And then also like the frozen in waiting to still get it.
- 41:39SPEAKER_02: And then in all relationships, you're like trying to unconsciously get that thing from the other person.
- 41:45SPEAKER_02: And then when they don't give it to you, you get triggered and react.
- 41:49SPEAKER_02: And that's why everyone gets divorced.
- 41:53SPEAKER_02: Yes, I know that play very well too.
- 41:56SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 41:56SPEAKER_02: So walk us through like from your lens, like how that process works to go from trying to get it, being upset that you're not getting it from outside, and then being able to like heal that and source it from within.
- 42:10SPEAKER_00: I think for me, and what I see most often with clients, and I feel like I'm gonna make this sound like simpler than it actually is, but in order to feel, and this is me saying this coming from the last 18 months of completely saying yes to my grief journey, losing my dad, who was like my person.
- 42:33SPEAKER_00: But you have to move through the grief of not having it.
- 42:37SPEAKER_00: The experience that you you thought you needed, or does that make sense?
- 42:42SPEAKER_00: Yes, you have to grieve.
- 42:44SPEAKER_00: You need to get to a point where you're just like grieving all the stories, all the feelings, all the things in order to move to like this just deep gratitude for like your experience.
- 43:00SPEAKER_02: I agree.
- 43:01SPEAKER_02: And the I also think it's about acceptance too.
- 43:04SPEAKER_02: It's like about like accepting what was actually true versus what you think should have happened and being able to like really face that because I think a lot of people like don't want to face that this was actually the reality.
- 43:20SPEAKER_02: So they like make it wrong and be like, well, this is what should have happened.
- 43:24SPEAKER_02: This is what I should have gotten, or this is how I should have been treated.
- 43:28SPEAKER_02: And then you're locked in that place where then anytime someone doesn't treat you that way, you're that version of you gets triggered, right?
- 43:36SPEAKER_02: Yes, you have to grieve and let yourself feel the emotions of not getting that and face it and accept it.
- 43:46SPEAKER_02: And then when you come out on the other side, you like have this experience of holding yourself through that process, which then I feel like allows you to create that's what you get to pull from.
- 43:57SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 43:58SPEAKER_00: So I think for me.
- 44:00SPEAKER_00: And what I really guide other beautifully sensitive humans to get to is grief, which is also a really hard emotion to get to.
- 44:10SPEAKER_00: People are very scared of the word, of the feeling.
- 44:15SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna stay there forever.
- 44:17SPEAKER_00: It's never gonna go away.
- 44:19SPEAKER_00: It's just not true.
- 44:20SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 44:21SPEAKER_00: It's not about feeling depressed.
- 44:23SPEAKER_00: It's sadness.
- 44:24SPEAKER_00: The sadness is really important.
- 44:26SPEAKER_00: The grief is really important to feel that and to move through it and to offer yourself like support as you move through it.
- 44:34SPEAKER_00: It's just the greatest act of self-love, in my opinion.
- 44:38SPEAKER_00: And it has completely transformed the way that I feel.
- 44:44SPEAKER_00: It has greatly impacted my human experience in a really positive way.
- 44:49SPEAKER_00: And something that helps me that may help anyone listening who is also grieving whatever it is that you've decided to say yes to.
- 44:58SPEAKER_00: There's there's lots of things you can grieve if you want.
- 45:00SPEAKER_00: There's so many things to grieve.
- 45:02SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 45:03SPEAKER_00: But it's just like the feeling of grief is the same feeling as gratitude.
- 45:09SPEAKER_00: Oftentimes you get this release of emotion.
- 45:12SPEAKER_00: And at the core of the emotion is like unexpressed love.
- 45:17SPEAKER_00: I tell myself that now.
- 45:19SPEAKER_00: It helps me to move through that emotional tunnel.
- 45:23SPEAKER_00: I'm just like, oh my gosh, like I just feel look at all this unexpressed love that I have for myself or for this person or for that person.
- 45:32SPEAKER_00: And it really helps me to move through that emotional tunnel in real time.
- 45:35SPEAKER_00: And I cry four times a day, which is totally fine.
- 45:39SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 45:40SPEAKER_02: I welcome I cry at least once a day.
- 45:44SPEAKER_02: And I do feel I want to talk about this for a moment and then we can go to the last pattern.
- 45:50SPEAKER_02: But I know for you, grieving your dad was so such an important part of your process.
- 45:58SPEAKER_02: And I find that now I've walked a number of people through losing a parent.
- 46:05SPEAKER_02: And then recently I lost my aunt, who was very close to me on like a level of look at her like I would my mother.
- 46:12SPEAKER_02: So it was like almost not quite like losing my mother, but it was like the closest thing I've ever experienced to that.
- 46:19SPEAKER_02: And I got hit with a lot of grief.
- 46:21SPEAKER_02: But what I found is, and what and I think you found this, and I think a lot of people have found it, is that there's such a gift inside of that grief.
- 46:30SPEAKER_02: There was so much.
- 46:32SPEAKER_02: I don't, I'll talk about it in another episode because I don't want to take up the whole time with this, but there were so many things that happened as a result of that grief that I felt.
- 46:44SPEAKER_02: Just everything from like miraculous things outside of me with other people to like things within myself.
- 46:51SPEAKER_02: And I also had this weird feeling too, where I was like, oh my God, I feel like my whole life I've been holding back tears.
- 47:00SPEAKER_02: And like to like really let them go.
- 47:03SPEAKER_02: And I had this, this like few days where my eyes were like hurt, throbbing because I just cried so much.
- 47:11SPEAKER_02: But then there was like so much that happened on the other side of that.
- 47:15SPEAKER_02: So I think that even if it's not about grieving, obviously at death, but grieving what you thought you should have had as a child or what you missed out on, the other side of that is just there's so much there for you, you know?
- 47:31SPEAKER_00: It's really, really magical.
- 47:33SPEAKER_00: And that beautifully plays into the third pattern, which is the ancestral, those long-held feelings, those long-held patterns of just ways of being, essentially, that we just come onto this planet just feeling.
- 47:49SPEAKER_00: And when you start leaning into the feeling, right?
- 47:55SPEAKER_00: Some of these bigger feelings of like loneliness and despair and like fear, like deep, deep fear that makes no sense in this lifetime.
- 48:07SPEAKER_00: What really matches up on a physical body level are some of these chronic pain diagnoses, which are like the most bullshit diagnoses.
- 48:16SPEAKER_00: Like there's a whole class in my master's degree where like here's all these chronic pain diagnoses.
- 48:22SPEAKER_00: No one has any idea why they come, and medication doesn't really help.
- 48:26SPEAKER_00: And just tell them to try to exercise.
- 48:29SPEAKER_00: Multiple, multiple diagnoses that usually only affect women and autoimmune disease, like MS, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia.
- 48:39SPEAKER_00: I don't even get me started on fibro.
- 48:42SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 48:42SPEAKER_00: When I tune into this on an energetic level, most of what people are feeling, right?
- 48:48SPEAKER_00: It doesn't all belong to them.
- 48:50SPEAKER_00: There is this component on a feeling level of it belonging to other people when you're saying like that release of grief that you had with the loss of your aunt, like you were probably also crying for your mom, and you were also probably like crying for like the rest of her series.
- 49:06SPEAKER_00: I was crying for everyone.
- 49:09SPEAKER_02: Like, I told you, I can't remember where I shared this, but I was like, literally, I could feel every single person at the funeral, like their thing.
- 49:19SPEAKER_02: I literally processed all of it for everyone.
- 49:22SPEAKER_02: So, like, you're welcome, people.
- 49:24SPEAKER_00: It's huge, and you can feel that.
- 49:26SPEAKER_00: And I think I believe that we all have the ability to feel that.
- 49:29SPEAKER_00: Most women who have these chronic pain diagnoses, I know intuitively that they're also very empathic and they're just kind of unaware of how much power they have and like what they're receiving, essentially.
- 49:42SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 49:43SPEAKER_00: But this pattern very much kind of like is like a pattern of paralysis.
- 49:48SPEAKER_00: It's a pattern of like indecision and confusion.
- 49:51SPEAKER_00: And it's not like, oh, I don't know what to eat today.
- 49:53SPEAKER_00: It's just you're paralyzed in place.
- 49:55SPEAKER_00: And again, it's not that like you don't know where to go.
- 49:58SPEAKER_00: It's not that like you don't know what direction to go in.
- 50:00SPEAKER_00: You're just like so scared.
- 50:02SPEAKER_00: The feelings are just so intense.
- 50:05SPEAKER_00: And the other thing that was always really interesting to me when you start asking women when their diagnosis came or like when they first started feeling, it's always after a super traumatic emotional event, most times, like at least 75% of the time.
- 50:21SPEAKER_02: That makes sense.
- 50:23SPEAKER_02: I think so many women just hold all this stuff in their bodies without realizing that they're doing it, like it's just normal.
- 50:30SPEAKER_00: And then oftentimes there's a huge family component to these diagnoses.
- 50:35SPEAKER_00: Like you look at breast cancer or ovarian cancer or like some of these cancers that are more prevalent in women, and also heart disease.
- 50:42SPEAKER_00: Like that kind of plays in Morrison Mother Wound, but like heart disease is so sneaky in women.
- 50:50SPEAKER_00: Like, okay, well, how did you feel actually?
- 50:53SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 50:54SPEAKER_00: What's going on there?
- 50:56SPEAKER_00: I do spend the time really leaning into these ancient feelings in the body and the programs and the work that I do with people because most people are coming to me with a chronic issue that they've tried everywhere else to get rid of, and it just hasn't helped.
- 51:13SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 51:14SPEAKER_02: And then also, like, what component does the breath work play, or how do you incorporate the breath work into your process?
- 51:22SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 51:23SPEAKER_00: The breath work is very similar to the metamorphosis.
- 51:27SPEAKER_00: So the breathwork component is really gonna start to shift some of the energetic patterns around these times in your life.
- 51:36SPEAKER_00: And so I do break it down.
- 51:39SPEAKER_00: There's like birth story component that plays in really interestingly with pelvic pain, actually.
- 51:45SPEAKER_00: That makes sense.
- 51:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah, right.
- 51:47SPEAKER_00: The breath work is really used to like shift the energy around some of the patterns.
- 51:51SPEAKER_00: So I bring it back to the father, I bring it back to the relationship with the mother.
- 51:55SPEAKER_00: The birth story, we really tune into like pelvic pain, dysfunction, menstrual cycles, birth history, that type of thing.
- 52:03SPEAKER_00: The sibling dynamic, actually, I really love connecting the balance between the masculine and the feminine there.
- 52:10SPEAKER_00: So the breath work really is used to kind of like understand and shift some of these dynamics and the energetic patterns.
- 52:18SPEAKER_00: And then I'm tying it always back into one of these three patterns.
- 52:21SPEAKER_00: So most people, once they start working with me, they there's like a little bit of every pattern that is like playing out.
- 52:28SPEAKER_00: Again, like what I love is that this isn't so much about like getting rid of your pain.
- 52:33SPEAKER_00: Like the last couple of days, I've just had this really like nondescript neck pain, like nothing terrible.
- 52:39SPEAKER_00: But I'm just like, oh, what's that about?
- 52:41SPEAKER_00: It does, it ties into that energy of codependency.
- 52:45SPEAKER_00: It just allows me to kind of like tune into what it is that I need, and then I'm allowed to ask for it, and then the neck pain goes away.
- 52:52SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 52:53SPEAKER_00: So it's just a nice way of decoding what the body is asking, how the body desires to move in this really beautiful, supportive way, in a way where, like, I just love offering to people this internal guidance system.
- 53:10SPEAKER_00: Go get your Cairo, go get your physio.
- 53:12SPEAKER_00: I'm not saying don't do those things.
- 53:14SPEAKER_00: Tune inward first.
- 53:16SPEAKER_00: Here's a little compass as to like, okay, where maybe are you participating in this pattern?
- 53:21SPEAKER_00: What does this feeling actually mean?
- 53:23SPEAKER_00: What can you change in your internal world and see how the body reacts?
- 53:28SPEAKER_00: Does do things shift?
- 53:29SPEAKER_00: It's just about kind of like moving from this place of like fear and lack and problems and scarcity into this feeling of like curiosity and neutrality just around like your human experience.
- 53:41SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 53:41SPEAKER_02: And also what keeps occurring to me too is it's also about working with the body instead of thinking that like your body's working against you somehow.
- 53:49SPEAKER_02: Cause I think that's so much of the programming that we get is like your body is this mystery that is working against you, and you don't know what's going on with it until someone else tells you.
- 54:02SPEAKER_02: And this is the complete opposite of that.
- 54:05SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 54:06SPEAKER_00: It's so soul sucking to work in the healthcare industry because I think most people know this.
- 54:12SPEAKER_00: And I'm just so grateful that I'm able to just work in this way with people.
- 54:21SPEAKER_00: What came to me, what I started to understand through the metamorphos method, was just like life-changing for me.
- 54:28SPEAKER_00: Like I'm really grateful for it.
- 54:31SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 54:31SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 54:32SPEAKER_02: And also, who would you say is like somebody who should definitely do it?
- 54:37SPEAKER_02: Or what would you say to someone who's thinking about doing it?
- 54:40SPEAKER_00: I think it's for the person who just knows that there's a different way forward.
- 54:46SPEAKER_00: They may not know the exact direction.
- 54:49SPEAKER_00: It doesn't necessarily have to be professionally.
- 54:51SPEAKER_00: It doesn't necessarily have to be in relationship.
- 54:53SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 54:54SPEAKER_00: I think it's for the person who's just looking to understand what their connection to themselves is and what is going to make them feel better just being here.
- 55:09SPEAKER_00: Things just really start to open up.
- 55:11SPEAKER_00: So yeah, I think it's definitely for the person who's just looking for some clarity.
- 55:15SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 55:15SPEAKER_00: In like where they want to go and what they want to do.
- 55:18SPEAKER_00: And it does, you don't have to know what what direction that is.
- 55:22SPEAKER_00: It's just that's where it was for me.
- 55:23SPEAKER_00: I'm like, I just feel fucking terrible.
- 55:25SPEAKER_00: Can you help me?
- 55:26SPEAKER_00: And you're like, I can.
- 55:27SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, great.
- 55:28SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 55:29SPEAKER_00: That's where I started.
- 55:30SPEAKER_00: Do you remember?
- 55:30SPEAKER_00: I sent you an email and I'm like, I feel all these ways.
- 55:33SPEAKER_00: And this is how I want to feel.
- 55:34SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, can you help me with this?
- 55:36SPEAKER_00: And you're like, I can.
- 55:39SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 55:39SPEAKER_02: So that was the metamorphosis.
- 55:41SPEAKER_02: And then as far as like the certification piece, like, because I feel like there's so many different people who come in, where whether it's like someone who already has a business who wants to add it in, or someone who's, I know I want to work with people.
- 55:53SPEAKER_02: I just don't know exactly how I want to do that, or I don't know how to do that.
- 55:59SPEAKER_02: I feel like those are usually the main people who come in.
- 56:03SPEAKER_00: I think anyone who wants to get their clients like a deeper result, like a longer lasting result.
- 56:11SPEAKER_00: I think like nervous system regulation is great, mindset work is great, like their journaling is great, affirmations, all great.
- 56:18SPEAKER_00: But if you do not understand the feeling and why it keeps coming back, there needs to be a way where you're able to guide your clients through some of this deeper work.
- 56:28SPEAKER_00: I think that is who it's for.
- 56:30SPEAKER_00: For sure.
- 56:31SPEAKER_00: And that could be anybody.
- 56:33SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 56:33SPEAKER_02: No, I think I agree.
- 56:36SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 56:36SPEAKER_02: And then I know also you have a special session for our listeners.
- 56:41SPEAKER_02: So can you tell us a little bit about that before we close?
- 56:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's a one-on-one 45-minute session.
- 56:47SPEAKER_00: I'm calling it the body communication call.
- 56:50SPEAKER_00: So I love these sessions.
- 56:51SPEAKER_00: Oftentimes people come to the session just with like straight up something, how they're feeling, like it's I have headaches or I have back pain, or it could be a feeling like I have a lot of anger or I feel loneliness, like powerful emotions, pain in the body.
- 57:06SPEAKER_00: And then we have a really solid conversation.
- 57:08SPEAKER_00: I really tune into the energetic and emotional components behind why the pain is showing up.
- 57:15SPEAKER_00: And then after that 45 minutes, I'm able to really give you tangible and direct next steps to implement in your life, like right away, in order to start to like shift the energy, a few different tweaks that you can make in your life and in your body.
- 57:29SPEAKER_00: It's super supportive.
- 57:30SPEAKER_00: So if you've been going to physio forever for like something or get some information on what is actually contributing, and you get to start to like shift that pain pattern, which is really nice.
- 57:41SPEAKER_02: That's amazing.
- 57:42SPEAKER_02: So we will link that in the show notes and also all your links of where people can find you.
- 57:47SPEAKER_02: Thank you so much.
- 57:48SPEAKER_02: This was amazing.
- 57:50SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I know everyone's gonna love it.
- 57:52SPEAKER_02: Thank you for being here.
- 57:53SPEAKER_02: Thanks, Elise.
