- 1:24So prove who you really are.
- 1:26Series five, show 44 episode.
- 1:29Yes, guys, it is episode number one.
- 1:34That means we're on a brand new master
- 1:36topic.
- 1:36We'll get to that in a second.
- 1:38Welcome everyone to the ever-popular Inspirations for
- 1:40Your Life show.
- 1:41I am John C.
- 1:42Morley, a serial entrepreneur, engineer, marketing specialist, video
- 1:48producer, podcast host, coach, a professional keynote speaker,
- 1:53a graduate student at Monteclair State University, a
- 1:56passionate lifelong learner, and so grateful now, ladies
- 1:59and gentlemen, to be a published author.
- 2:02So let me ask you something powerful.
- 2:04If someone followed you around for an entire
- 2:07week, watching your decisions, but never hearing your
- 2:11words, what would they learn about your character?
- 2:16Great question.
- 2:17Would they seek compassion, honesty, respect, courage, or
- 2:25would they discover a difference between what you
- 2:27say and what you actually do?
- 2:30You see, that's the question we're exploring here
- 2:33today.
- 2:34Our weekly master topic that kicks off today
- 2:36is stop saying you care.
- 2:39Start proving it.
- 2:41And today, Saturday, this is October 24th, 2026,
- 2:46if you're watching us live, I'm bringing you
- 2:49this entire seven-day journey so that we
- 2:53can prove who you really are.
- 2:55Our theme is live your values because, see,
- 2:59your character isn't a slogan, guys.
- 3:02No.
- 3:03It isn't a social media profile.
- 3:07And it certainly isn't measured by how impressive
- 3:10your promises sound.
- 3:13Your character is revealed through consistent action.
- 3:15We've talked about this before.
- 3:17Let's explore 30 powerful ways to prove who
- 3:20you really are right now.
- 3:22Number one, understand that your character is revealed
- 3:26through repeated choices.
- 3:29One good decision matters, but consistent behavior creates
- 3:33a pattern.
- 3:34That pattern tells people what you truly stand
- 3:37for.
- 3:38And I think that's something that a lot
- 3:39of people, you know, they get confused about.
- 3:41They don't really know what's happening.
- 3:43But I want to tell you that this
- 3:44is the key, guys.
- 3:47This is the key.
- 3:48This is the success of what life actually
- 3:52is about, okay?
- 3:54And that pattern tells people what you truly
- 3:56stand for.
- 3:57Number two, stop defining yourself only by the
- 4:01values you claim to hold.
- 4:03Saying you're honest or compassionate isn't enough.
- 4:06Your everyday decisions must demonstrate those qualities.
- 4:11Number three, recognize how compassion becomes meaningful through
- 4:16practical action.
- 4:19Caring thoughts are important, but reaching out, listening,
- 4:23and offering appropriate help can make a real
- 4:26difference for you.
- 4:28I think that's important for us to understand.
- 4:29Number four, stop ignoring the needs of others.
- 4:34When you have a reasonable opportunity to help,
- 4:36you cannot solve every problem, but you can
- 4:39recognize opportunities to make someone's day better.
- 4:45Number five, understand that fairness requires honesty even
- 4:50when personal gain is tempting.
- 4:53The real test comes when doing what's right
- 4:57means giving up an easy advantage.
- 5:02I know it's easy to do what's simple,
- 5:06but it might not always be the best
- 5:08for you and for the greater good of
- 5:09all concerned.
- 5:10Number six, guys, please recognize the importance of
- 5:14respecting people with different circumstances.
- 5:17Everyone has a story.
- 5:19You may not understand that.
- 5:20Treat people with dignity rather than making assumptions,
- 5:24right?
- 5:25I think that's important.
- 5:26A lot of people, they rush to judge,
- 5:29and they judge the book by its cover,
- 5:32and they really don't understand, like, what's going
- 5:34on.
- 5:35I think that's hard for a lot of
- 5:36people, but it is about truth, guys.
- 5:40Number seven, please stop allowing convenience to override
- 5:44your most important principles, the ones linked to
- 5:48your core values, that is.
- 5:49When the easier choice conflicts with your values,
- 5:53consider the consequences before acting.
- 5:57You know, a lot of people have that
- 5:58knee-jerk response, but they don't realize the
- 6:02consequences that are going to happen by them
- 6:04doing that, right?
- 6:05That's important.
- 6:06Number eight, learn to make responsible choices without
- 6:09seeking public approval.
- 6:11Integrity doesn't require an audience.
- 6:14Some of your most meaningful decisions happen privately.
- 6:17Yeah, you don't need an audience for that,
- 6:21guys.
- 6:22Number nine, recognize that healthy relationships depend on
- 6:26mutual respect.
- 6:28Strong connections require listening, honesty, consideration, and respect
- 6:33for reasonable boundaries.
- 6:37Nothing wrong with that, guys.
- 6:39That's something I think more people need to
- 6:41understand, that it's okay to have boundaries.
- 6:44Sometimes the boundaries will become less, sometimes they'll
- 6:48become more, and there's nothing wrong with any
- 6:52of that.
- 6:53I think that's a very important thing to
- 6:56understand and to realize that that's how it
- 7:00really works.
- 7:02That's how it really works, guys, and so
- 7:05you've got to be understanding that you have
- 7:09to understand where you're coming from or where
- 7:12other people are coming from.
- 7:14Number nine, recognize that healthy relationships depend on
- 7:18mutual respect.
- 7:19Strong connections require listening, honesty, consideration, and respect
- 7:26for reasonable boundaries, but some people don't do
- 7:29that.
- 7:29Number 10, stop confusing good intentions with meaningful
- 7:33results.
- 7:38Yeah, we have to do that because when
- 7:42we do that, our life changes.
- 7:46Whining to help is a beginning.
- 7:49It's not a complete accomplishment.
- 7:52Following through when you can, that's what it's
- 7:54about.
- 7:55Number 11, understand that resilience includes staying grounded
- 8:00during hardships.
- 8:01They happen.
- 8:03Difficult moments can test your patience and, of
- 8:07course, your principles that are linked to your
- 8:09core values.
- 8:10You can adapt without abandoning who you want
- 8:13to be, okay?
- 8:16But it's those hard times that show us
- 8:19the true character the person is made of.
- 8:21Number 12, recognize when setbacks reveal opportunities to
- 8:26strengthen your habits.
- 8:27Instead of allowing disappointments to define you, examine
- 8:31what you can learn and improve upon that.
- 8:36Number 13, stop expecting trust without demonstrating consistent
- 8:41reliability.
- 8:43People need to see that your actions match
- 8:46your commitments, right?
- 8:49If they don't see that, well, they're going
- 8:52to lose respect for you, and they're not
- 8:55going to want to be part of your
- 8:56life.
- 8:58Number 14, learn to acknowledge mistakes and correct
- 9:02them when possible.
- 9:04Everyone makes mistakes.
- 9:06Taking responsibility and ownership for that and making
- 9:10meaningful corrections demonstrates maturity, and people respect that.
- 9:16Number 15, recognize that leadership begins with the
- 9:20example you set today.
- 9:23You don't need a title to influence others.
- 9:26Your everyday behavior can encourage people to act
- 9:29responsibly.
- 9:31That's a key, guys, responsibly.
- 9:35Number 16, stop treating kindness as a performance
- 9:40for other people.
- 9:42It's not a show.
- 9:43Genuine kindness doesn't depend on attention, applause, or
- 9:48a photograph proving you helped.
- 9:51That's not what it's about.
- 9:53That's being phony.
- 9:55That's being false.
- 9:57That's being two-faced.
- 9:59Just being honest.
- 10:01Number 17, understand that personal values should guide
- 10:05ordinary decisions.
- 10:07Character isn't reserved for extraordinary moments.
- 10:12It's built through the small choices you make
- 10:16every day in your life.
- 10:20That's important, guys.
- 10:21Very, very important.
- 10:23Number 18, recognize the importance of protecting other
- 10:29people's dignity.
- 10:31Whether someone agrees with you or not, they
- 10:35deserve to be treated with basic respect.
- 10:39Stop making commitments that conflict with your actual
- 10:44capacity.
- 10:46Be realistic about your time and your resources.
- 10:51An honest limitation is better than empty promise.
- 10:55So many people make empty promises, and then
- 10:58they've got to make apologies for things that
- 11:02didn't happen because they didn't basically do what
- 11:06they said they were going to do.
- 11:07A lot of people talk, and talk is
- 11:09cheap, but it's action that builds the character
- 11:13in private and determines the reputation in public.
- 11:18Number 20, learn to balance compassion with healthy
- 11:23personal boundaries.
- 11:24Supporting others doesn't mean neglecting your own responsibilities
- 11:27or accepting unreasonable demands.
- 11:31Some people think you have to do that
- 11:33because that's just the way it goes.
- 11:35No, that's a misnomer.
- 11:37Okay, that is absolutely a misnomer and something
- 11:40I think a lot of people miss.
- 11:45We have to really embrace that, okay?
- 11:48Number 21, recognize how small repeated actions shape
- 11:54your reputation.
- 11:55Remember, you build your character, but your character
- 11:59in public is actually your reputation.
- 12:06Being dependable, respectful, and fair in everyday situations
- 12:12creates lasting impressions, ones that make other people
- 12:17want to get to know you better, get
- 12:19closer with you, work with you, et cetera,
- 12:23okay?
- 12:24Number 22, please stop assuming that growth happens
- 12:28automatically with experience.
- 12:30That's not true.
- 12:31Time alone doesn't guarantee wisdom.
- 12:34Be nice if it did, but that doesn't
- 12:35mean it does.
- 12:36Growth requires reflection, effort, and a willingness to
- 12:40change.
- 12:42Einstein said this a long time ago.
- 12:44Doing the same thing over and over again
- 12:47and expecting different results, what do we call
- 12:48it, ladies and gentlemen?
- 12:49Insanity.
- 12:51So we need to change what we're doing
- 12:53or we're going to get the same result.
- 12:55Number 23, understand that integrity requires reflection and
- 13:01deliberate practice.
- 13:04Regularly asking whether your behavior supports your values.
- 13:08Then make adjustments when it's necessary.
- 13:14And you learn from the lesson.
- 13:16If the experience wasn't good, forget the experience,
- 13:20but just keep the lesson.
- 13:23A lot of people I talk to say,
- 13:24oh, this was a horrible thing.
- 13:25This is what happened.
- 13:26Okay, what did you learn out of it?
- 13:28Forget the negative.
- 13:29What did you learn that you can apply
- 13:31and take with you the rest of your
- 13:32life?
- 13:34So recognize when your behavior needs to change.
- 13:38Number 25, stop allowing outside pressures to decide
- 13:43who you become.
- 13:45Peer pressure, bandwagon technique, listen thoughtfully to others.
- 13:50But don't you dare surrender your standards simply
- 13:53to gain acceptance.
- 13:55That's the game that happens in grammar school
- 13:58and high school, right?
- 14:00You sell yourself out because, well, if I
- 14:03don't do this, then I'm not going to
- 14:04be that person's friend.
- 14:05Why do you even want to be that
- 14:06person's friend in the first place if that's
- 14:08how they're going to treat you and that's
- 14:09how they're going to treat other people, right?
- 14:12That's an important thing.
- 14:15So I think we have to be understanding
- 14:18of that.
- 14:21We have to understand that.
- 14:23Learn to evaluate progress through actions rather than
- 14:26the promises.
- 14:28A lot of times they're empty promises.
- 14:30Number 26, instead of counting everything you intend
- 14:33to do, examine what you actually completed.
- 14:36Yeah, there's an interesting concept.
- 14:38Number 27, review the six lessons that prepared
- 14:42you for today's commitment.
- 14:45What is that, guys?
- 14:46It's compassion.
- 14:48It's action.
- 14:50It's fairness.
- 14:51It's respect, resilience, and leadership.
- 14:55Let's go through those again.
- 14:57So we've got compassion.
- 14:59We've got action.
- 15:01Fairness, respect, resilience, and leadership.
- 15:04Compassion, action, fairness, respect, resilience, and leadership.
- 15:11And as we understand that, they've brought us
- 15:15to this final point of lesson.
- 15:18Number 28, identify one personal value that deserves
- 15:24greater daily attention than you're giving it.
- 15:28Perhaps it's honesty.
- 15:29It's kindness.
- 15:31It could be compassion.
- 15:31It could be reliability.
- 15:33Or it could be patience.
- 15:35Choose something that genuinely matters to you.
- 15:40A lot of people do things because they
- 15:42want to please others.
- 15:44But at the end of the day, you've
- 15:47got to please yourself.
- 15:48I'm not saying to never please others.
- 15:50But if you constantly only have the mindset
- 15:53to want to please others, you're never going
- 15:57to live life for you.
- 15:59You're always going to live for other people.
- 16:00And I think that's something that a lot
- 16:02of people today don't understand.
- 16:04Life is meant to be lived.
- 16:06It's not meant for other people to manipulate
- 16:08it.
- 16:08But yet, that's what happens.
- 16:09Well, if you don't do this, then I'm
- 16:12not your friend.
- 16:12Or if you don't do this, then I
- 16:14won't vote for you.
- 16:14If you don't do this, then you can't
- 16:19swim in my pool.
- 16:20If you don't do this, then I'm not
- 16:22taking your trash or whatever.
- 16:23Some nonsense, right?
- 16:25So that's an important piece.
- 16:28And a lot of people today are like,
- 16:29well, I need somebody to take my garbage
- 16:31can.
- 16:32So of course, I'm going to do that.
- 16:35Number 29, commit.
- 16:38Can you do that?
- 16:39Can you commit to one measurable action you'll
- 16:43repeat beyond today, beyond this week?
- 16:47Make it specific to you.
- 16:50Make it realistic.
- 16:52And of course, meaningful and doable, right?
- 16:57We don't want something that you can't do.
- 16:59Your commitment should be something you can actually
- 17:03demonstrate right now.
- 17:05Something you can choose to adapt to your
- 17:08life and make it as a new habit.
- 17:10I think that's a very important piece that
- 17:13we have to understand what that means and
- 17:16why a lot of people today don't move
- 17:18forward.
- 17:19The reason they don't move forward, I'll tell
- 17:20you why.
- 17:22It's because they're stuck with their ego.
- 17:24They feel that if they do something different,
- 17:27then life is going to change for them.
- 17:30It is.
- 17:32And it might not change for the positive.
- 17:35If you're always trying to please someone else,
- 17:38but you're the last one to get pleased,
- 17:42you're not going to be a success.
- 17:47Successful people do a lot for others.
- 17:49Yes.
- 17:50But they don't forget where their bread is
- 17:53buttered.
- 17:54And that's themselves first.
- 17:57Number 30, guys.
- 18:00Prove who you really are by living your
- 18:04core values consistently.
- 18:06That's a hard one.
- 18:13Don't rely on your core values.
- 18:13Rely, guys, on labels or promises to define
- 18:17your character.
- 18:20Let's go talk more about character.
- 18:21I know we talked about that last week,
- 18:22but character is important.
- 18:24So character gets built in your private life.
- 18:30The things you say to yourself, the things
- 18:31you do, the commitments you make to yourself.
- 18:35But this is all private life.
- 18:37And then how you treat that filters into
- 18:40your public life.
- 18:42And we don't call that character in public
- 18:44life.
- 18:45We call that reputation.
- 18:48So you can't be one way in private
- 18:50and then have a different life in public.
- 18:53You can try, but you will definitely not
- 18:59last.
- 19:00You're going to make mistakes.
- 19:02And that two-facedness is going to be
- 19:04like so confusing for people.
- 19:06People are never going to know whether you're
- 19:08talking about the truth or whether you're basically
- 19:11just lying.
- 19:13And you won't even know yourself whether you're
- 19:16believing what you're doing.
- 19:18It'll be very confusing for you.
- 19:21So your commitment should be something you can
- 19:24actually demonstrate.
- 19:26Not because you have to, but because you
- 19:30should want to.
- 19:33Again, you're not doing this for an applause,
- 19:35right?
- 19:35You're not doing it for an applause.
- 19:36You're not doing this for limelight.
- 19:39You're not doing this for the media.
- 19:41You're not doing this for a pat on
- 19:44the back.
- 19:45No, you're not doing it for that.
- 19:47You're doing it for you.
- 19:49And you see, when you have a mission
- 19:52to improve the quality of your life with
- 19:55no other aspirations to just help yourself, you
- 19:59do help others.
- 20:00And it comes off in a manner that
- 20:05is non-egotistical.
- 20:07Something a lot of people say they want
- 20:09to do, but then they realize they're losing
- 20:11control.
- 20:12But I said this to you guys before,
- 20:13if you lose control or you give up
- 20:15control, you actually get more control.
- 20:18I know that sounds like an oxymoron, but
- 20:19it's true.
- 20:20The more you relinquish control, the more control
- 20:23you actually get.
- 20:26Number 30, prove who you really are by
- 20:29living your core values consistently.
- 20:34Whoa, that's hard.
- 20:36So don't rely on the labels or the
- 20:37promises to define your character.
- 20:39Let your repeated choices tell the story.
- 20:44Let your repeated choices tell the story.
- 20:50People that talk and say they're going to
- 20:53do X, Y, and Z, and they don't
- 20:55do anything, they quickly become labeled as a
- 20:59phony because they're just doing things to catch
- 21:06people's attention.
- 21:07And if they catch people's attention, they feel
- 21:11that they've won.
- 21:15Maybe they're trying to get a sale.
- 21:17Maybe they're trying to build a relationship, but
- 21:19they're not being genuine.
- 21:22And it's going to backfire in their face
- 21:25sooner or later.
- 21:26I mean, that's the truth.
- 21:27Now, let's bring our entire week together, shall
- 21:31we?
- 21:31So Sunday, we're going to learn to show
- 21:35compassion by noticing people who may need support.
- 21:39Monday, we're going to learn to take action
- 21:41because kindness becomes meaningful when we follow through.
- 21:47Tuesday, we're going to learn to practice fairness
- 21:50and avoid taking advantage of others.
- 21:55Wednesday, we're going to learn to build respect
- 21:58through healthy relationships and genuine understanding.
- 22:05Thursday, we're going to learn to stay resilient
- 22:09without abandoning our values during difficult times.
- 22:12What does resilient mean?
- 22:14Great question.
- 22:16So let's say you're down or maybe you
- 22:21failed.
- 22:22Resilience is how well and quickly you can
- 22:27get back up and recover.
- 22:30Maybe you had a challenge in your business.
- 22:32Resilience is the fact that you can bounce
- 22:34back.
- 22:35Maybe you had a challenge in your relationship.
- 22:37Resilience is the fact that you can bounce
- 22:39back as a person, right?
- 22:43So don't abandon your values during difficult times.
- 22:46And we're going to talk about that on
- 22:46Thursday.
- 22:47Friday, we wrap up the week.
- 22:49We're going to learn to lead by example
- 22:53because our behavior always influences the people around
- 22:57us, whether we believe it or not.
- 22:59And that can predicate whether these people want
- 23:01to still be around us or whether they
- 23:03want to say sayonara, right?
- 23:05I mean, that's an important thing.
- 23:06You know, today, Saturday, it's important to understand
- 23:11how this works.
- 23:12We live our values.
- 23:13Because, you see, compassion without action remains an
- 23:18intention.
- 23:20Fairness without honesty loses its meaning.
- 23:27Respect without consideration just becomes an empty word,
- 23:35something so hollow.
- 23:39Resilience without true reflection to our core values
- 23:45can become bitter stubbornness.
- 23:51Nobody likes that.
- 23:52And leadership, ladies and gentlemen, without accountability and
- 23:57ownership loses credibility.
- 24:00Once somebody says to you they're going to
- 24:02do something, right, and they don't do it,
- 24:05what do you do?
- 24:06Maybe you call and say, hey, what happened?
- 24:08You're going to, oh, sorry.
- 24:10And then maybe you give them another chance.
- 24:12But how many chances do you give somebody
- 24:14before you write them off?
- 24:15You're like, I don't want to deal with
- 24:16that person anymore.
- 24:18I don't deal with them.
- 24:19If they can't keep a commitment to me,
- 24:25that's not good.
- 24:27But then if you watch them and they
- 24:28say they're going to do something and they
- 24:29never do it, that's also somebody you want
- 24:31to stay away from.
- 24:33That's a red flag.
- 24:33But when you choose to combine these qualities
- 24:38and practice them consistently, you begin building something
- 24:42powerful.
- 24:43We call it character in private life.
- 24:47When it reaches the public world that everyone
- 24:51else sees, we call it your reputation.
- 24:56So how you treat yourself and what you
- 24:58do in your private space flows through to
- 25:04your public side.
- 25:06And that defines your reputation, good or bad,
- 25:11right?
- 25:12That's important.
- 25:13Now, here is your final challenge for today,
- 25:17our Saturday challenge.
- 25:19Choose one, just one, personal value that matters
- 25:22deeply to you.
- 25:23Maybe it's honesty.
- 25:24Maybe it's kindness.
- 25:25Maybe it's reliability.
- 25:26Maybe it's respect.
- 25:27Now, identify one specific action that demonstrates that
- 25:30value.
- 25:31Commit to repeating that action for the next
- 25:34seven days.
- 25:35You can do it.
- 25:36It's not hard.
- 25:38Don't do it for attention.
- 25:43You might be tempted to, don't.
- 25:48Don't do it because someone is watching you.
- 25:53Don't do it for that reason either.
- 25:55Do it because that value matters to you.
- 26:00Do it because the value matters to you.
- 26:03That's pretty powerful, guys.
- 26:05At the end of those seven days, ask
- 26:08yourself just one question.
- 26:11Did my actions prove what I believe in?
- 26:16Yes or no.
- 26:19And don't stop there.
- 26:23Continue to carry that commitment into the weeks
- 26:26ahead.
- 26:29Not because you have to, but because you
- 26:31want to become better.
- 26:33I know you do.
- 26:34So ladies and gentlemen, before we close out
- 26:37today, I want you to share with me,
- 26:41whether you're watching live or whether you're watching
- 26:43a replay, let me know in the comments
- 26:46or on our website, what's one value that
- 26:51you're going to demonstrate through action?
- 26:54So one that I like to demonstrate, I
- 26:57don't brag about it, but there's one that
- 26:59I like to demonstrate.
- 27:00It's integrity.
- 27:03Sometimes it might be easy to just skip
- 27:05past or do the wrong thing.
- 27:09But I like to do the right thing
- 27:11even when no one else is watching.
- 27:14If this episode challenged your thinking, please share
- 27:19it with someone who believes that character matters
- 27:22more than appearances.
- 27:24And subscribe to Inspirations for Your Life for
- 27:27more meaningful conversations about personal growth if you'd
- 27:32like to make this part of your life.

- 27:53seven-day journey together.
- 27:55Remember, you don't have to be perfect to
- 27:57live with integrity.
- 27:58You do have to be willing to reflect,
- 28:00take responsibility, and keep improving.
- 28:03Stop saying you care.
- 28:04Start proving it.
- 28:05Start now.
- 28:07Stay driven.
