- 0:00Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth. Keep watch
- 0:03over the door of my lips. Today I surrender my
- 0:07mouth to you, my words, my reactions, my conversations,
- 0:12my responses. Your word teaches me that a small
- 0:16spark can set an entire forest on fire. So, God,
- 0:20do not allow my words to burn what you have called
- 0:23me to build. When I am angry, teach me to pause.
- 0:28When I am offended, Teach me restraint. When
- 0:31I am misunderstood, give me wisdom. When pride
- 0:35tells me to defend myself, teach me to seek your
- 0:39direction before I respond. When I have the perfect
- 0:43answer to an insult, remind me that winning an
- 0:48argument may cost me something more valuable
- 0:51than the argument itself. When I possess information
- 0:55that could hurt someone, Teach me how to carry
- 0:58it with integrity. Protect me from gossip. Protect
- 1:02me from unnecessary arguments. Protect me from
- 1:06speaking out of temporary emotions and creating
- 1:10permanent consequences. God, sometimes the problem
- 1:14is deeper than my mouth. Your word teaches that
- 1:17the mouth speaks from the abundance of the heart.
- 1:21So today I ask you, refine my heart. If anger
- 1:26is producing my words, heal the anger. If pride
- 1:30is producing my words, humble me. If bitterness
- 1:33is producing my words, heal the wound. If jealousy
- 1:37is producing my words, purify my heart. If insecurity
- 1:42is producing my words, remind me who I am in
- 1:46you. If offense is producing destructive words,
- 1:49teach me forgiveness. God do not simply change
- 1:53what I say. Change the source from which my words
- 1:56are coming. Holy Spirit, govern my tongue. Teach
- 2:01me when to speak. Teach me when to wait. Teach
- 2:05me when to walk away. Teach me when silence is
- 2:08wisdom. Give me the discipline to understand
- 2:11that not everything I know needs to be repeated.
- 2:15Not everything true needs to be said immediately.
- 2:19Not every accusation requires my response. Not
- 2:23every disagreement requires a battle. Not every
- 2:27provocation deserves access to my voice. Sometimes
- 2:30silence is not weakness. Sometimes silence is
- 2:34discipline. But God, when truth must be spoken,
- 2:39give me courage. When someone needs encouragement,
- 2:42use my voice. When someone has fallen, give me
- 2:46words that restore. When my family needs affirmation,
- 2:51let me speak life. When someone needs correction,
- 2:55help me correct without humiliating. When someone
- 2:59walking through fire needs hope, let my voice
- 3:02remind them. You are not alone. God, I do not
- 3:06want you to silence my voice. I want you to sanctify
- 3:10it. Before you increase my influence, refine
- 3:14my words. Before you increase my authority, refine
- 3:18my reactions. Before you give me a greater platform,
- 3:22Refine my motives. Before you give me a bigger
- 3:25microphone, prepare the person who will speak
- 3:29through it. Because my family is too valuable.
- 3:33My relationships are too valuable. My testimony
- 3:37is too valuable. My calling is too valuable.
- 3:40My vision is too valuable. My purpose is too
- 3:44valuable to be damaged by an uncontrolled tongue.
- 3:48Therefore, today, I declare My mouth will not
- 3:52destroy what my prayers have been asking God
- 3:54to build Temporary anger will not receive permanent
- 3:58vocabulary Offense will not govern my words Pride
- 4:03will not govern my words Bitterness will not
- 4:07govern my words Fear will not govern my words
- 4:10The Holy Spirit will govern my words I declare
- 4:14that my voice will become an instrument of healing
- 4:17My words will encourage My words will restore.
- 4:22My words will bless. My words will speak truth
- 4:25with wisdom. My words will carry grace. And when
- 4:30wisdom requires silence, I will have the discipline
- 4:33to remain silent. God, set a guard over my mouth.
- 4:38Keep watch over the door of my lips. Refine my
- 4:41heart. Discipline my reactions. Sanctify my words
- 4:46and prepare my voice for your purpose. I declare
- 4:50that the same fire refining my character will
- 4:52refine my mouth. I will not use my words to destroy
- 4:57what God has called me to protect. I will not
- 5:00sacrifice purpose because of one uncontrolled
- 5:03moment. My voice belongs to God. My mouth belongs
- 5:08to God. My words belong to God. And by the help
- 5:13of the Holy Spirit, I will speak. like someone
- 5:16who understands what I am carrying. I am being
- 5:20refined for a purpose. In the name of Jesus Christ,
- 5:25amen. You are not alone.
