Meet Cusi, the joyful new baby sloth at Como Park Zoo & Conservatory, named for the Quechua word meaning “joy.” Born May 6th to mom Sago, who faced a tough first pregnancy last year, Cusi is thriving and already showing curious, adventurous behavior — even sneaking bites of solid food. Part of a vital zoo breeding program, Cusi spends most of his time clinging to mom but is beginning to explore. Staff use gentle, stress-free care, feeding Sago directly to keep both happy.
