- 0:02Speaker 1: Fd Live last week of the spring training tour, Braun
- 0:05Speaker 1: and a Dancing crats a Florida. Aj Perzinski joining us
- 0:11Speaker 1: very soon. Loving his tour in the Sunshine State and
- 0:14Speaker 1: he's got four camps left to go and then we
- 0:18Speaker 1: will get ready for the season. I'm wearing a Tiger
- 0:20Speaker 1: Territory shirt today. Give it a quick plug. It's a
- 0:24Speaker 1: really nice soft shirt. Tiger Territory shop dot com. The
- 0:29Speaker 1: Tiger ripped through the logo very well done. A lot
- 0:33Speaker 1: of TLC gets put into each logo. I just want
- 0:35Speaker 1: everyone to know that a lot of TLC, a lot
- 0:38Speaker 1: of back and forth, a lot of banter, and that's
- 0:40Speaker 1: what we get created out of all of it. Also,
- 0:45Speaker 1: we had a postgame show last night after the US
- 0:48Speaker 1: edged the Dominican Republic. We're going to talk more about
- 0:51Speaker 1: that whole situation coming up in just a moment, and
- 0:54Speaker 1: we will have a postgame show tonight and tomorrow night.
- 0:58Speaker 2: So tonight we.
- 0:58Speaker 1: Have Italy matching up against Venezuela for that semi final.
- 1:01Speaker 1: Tomorrow is the final team USA against We shall see.
- 1:08Speaker 1: We did get an update two on the pitching side.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Maybe I'll save it for the segment. But minutes ago
- 1:14Speaker 1: we found out there's a little pitching change going on
- 1:18Speaker 1: with the Team Italy side of things, So let's get
- 1:20Speaker 1: to that now.
- 1:21Speaker 2: Let's charge charge.
- 1:26Speaker 1: Charge amount presented by Fox one running all of the
- 1:29Speaker 1: WBC games, including the last couple here the semifinal with
- 1:34Speaker 1: Italy matching up against Venezuela, and then of course Team
- 1:37Speaker 1: USA is going to face the winner of that game
- 1:39Speaker 1: for the whole thing. Last year or last time around,
- 1:44Speaker 1: USA lost to Japan. Japan's out of this. We talked
- 1:47Speaker 1: a lot about this on the postgame show last night,
- 1:49Speaker 1: but let's start with the headliner, as expected, Kratz an
- 1:54Speaker 1: epic game, a great battle, really good pitching, and all
- 1:58Speaker 1: anyone can talk about is one pitch, the final pitch
- 2:02Speaker 1: of the game, and why a pitch that is really
- 2:06Speaker 1: really far below the plate ends up costing the Dominican
- 2:11Speaker 1: Republic a chance at extending the game. Now, Mason Miller's
- 2:15Speaker 1: been disgusting. Does he probably get through it? Percentage chance
- 2:19Speaker 1: says yes, But we would like to see that actually
- 2:21Speaker 1: play out. You can see the called strike on Perdomo
- 2:25Speaker 1: on the eighth pitch of the ab, a payoff pitch
- 2:28Speaker 1: that would have been ball four runners on the corners
- 2:30Speaker 1: with two outs in the bottom of the ninth, Dominicans
- 2:34Speaker 1: down one run, and it was like, really really far
- 2:39Speaker 1: below the plate because some people crafts are like, oh,
- 2:42Speaker 1: it's too close. No, it's not too close. Guys are
- 2:46Speaker 1: paid to spit at pitches like that. Okay, that is
- 2:50Speaker 1: how this game is played these days. So when a
- 2:53Speaker 1: pitch is not even close, that's not a borderline pitch,
- 2:55Speaker 1: you spit it that it's ball four, You pass the
- 2:57Speaker 1: baton and you go on to the next ab, which
- 3:01Speaker 1: I believe was Tatis.
- 3:02Speaker 3: Right next would have been Tatists, and it would have
- 3:05Speaker 3: had Katell Marte then they would have had won. Like
- 3:08Speaker 3: you're getting to a Tatis that's hitting four hundred two
- 3:10Speaker 3: with Rouns on first and third, just saying, just saying,
- 3:15Speaker 3: while it's only one out, it was only one pitch.
- 3:19Speaker 3: I would have loved to see how it played out
- 3:21Speaker 3: there because it was a great at bat by Perdomo.
- 3:24Speaker 1: Now did the Dominican Republic have many chances to be
- 3:27Speaker 1: able to take advantage?
- 3:29Speaker 2: Yes, right, we talked about this last night.
- 3:32Speaker 1: I felt like when we were doing the postgame show,
- 3:35Speaker 1: I had an opinion and unless you made it like no,
- 3:38Speaker 1: I choose that the Dominicans got screwed or stop whining.
- 3:43Speaker 1: You have to pick both sides, and I'm like, okay,
- 3:46Speaker 1: in this case, both they got screwed on the last pitch,
- 3:49Speaker 1: but also they had other opportunities and Tmosa pitched well.
- 3:54Speaker 1: This is a good graphic that was circulating around social media.
- 3:58Speaker 1: Bottom of the fourth inning, two outspace is loaded, Dominicans
- 4:01Speaker 1: didn't take advantage. Bottom of the fifth inning, one out,
- 4:05Speaker 1: runners on first and second, No runs come across for
- 4:07Speaker 1: dr Bottom of the seventh inning, runners on second and
- 4:10Speaker 1: third for the Dominican Republic.
- 4:12Speaker 2: They do not score with one out there.
- 4:14Speaker 1: And then in the home ninth they had a runner
- 4:16Speaker 1: at second and they weren't able to get him home.
- 4:19Speaker 1: So it's not like they didn't have chances. And we'll
- 4:22Speaker 1: bring in AJ for this one too, because we didn't
- 4:24Speaker 1: get his take. Since we had the postgame show, people
- 4:26Speaker 1: heard plenty of krats me and Todd father blabbing AJ
- 4:30Speaker 1: your thoughts on the game last night, and does it
- 4:34Speaker 1: disappoint you that all you hear today is the final
- 4:38Speaker 1: pitch of the game being a brutal strike three call
- 4:41Speaker 1: and kind of taking away from everything else that we
- 4:44Speaker 1: were able to see from an entertainment standpoint.
- 4:47Speaker 4: Well, I'm not going to say it was a brutal
- 4:48Speaker 4: strike three call because it wasn't. It wasn't brutal, Scott.
- 4:50Speaker 4: It was like maybe an inch low, like come on, dude,
- 4:53Speaker 4: like the balls moving down.
- 4:56Speaker 2: No, no, no, get on that train.
- 5:01Speaker 4: I'm not getting on the brutal I'm not getting on
- 5:03Speaker 4: the brutal strike three call because it happens and there's
- 5:06Speaker 4: no abs and if they wanted to fix it, they
- 5:08Speaker 4: would have thrown abs in here.
- 5:09Speaker 5: So he made the call. Will, So let's give Will
- 5:12Speaker 5: Smith credit for framing. Kratz. Your whole career, he said,
- 5:14Speaker 5: was built on framing. So let's give Will Smith a
- 5:16Speaker 5: little credit for making it look better than what it was. Listen,
- 5:19Speaker 5: it was a great about by Perdomo. It's a shame
- 5:21Speaker 5: and ended the way it did with all the controversy.
- 5:23Speaker 4: But to me, it's more about there was some questionable
- 5:25Speaker 4: moves that were made in this game. Why do you
- 5:27Speaker 4: not pinch run for Austin Wells when he's on second
- 5:30Speaker 4: with one out and to have someone faster run for him,
- 5:33Speaker 4: right like anybody else pretty much probably on the roster
- 5:35Speaker 4: scores on that ball. But because Albert Pooles, you know,
- 5:39Speaker 4: didn't pinch run for Austin Wells not you know, Albert
- 5:41Speaker 4: Pools in the Dominican staff. He doesn't score, and then
- 5:44Speaker 4: Tatiz punches out and they get out of it, right.
- 5:47Speaker 4: I mean, Wan Soto comes up against the side arm
- 5:49Speaker 4: righty and hits into a double play. Wan Soto is
- 5:52Speaker 4: the one of the best players in the world. He
- 5:54Speaker 4: gets a matchup that we all think is like, man,
- 5:56Speaker 4: this is favorable for Wan Soto. Rogers gets him to
- 5:58Speaker 4: hit into a double place. So there was lots of
- 6:00Speaker 4: odd thoughts of chances there. Let's not put it on
- 6:03Speaker 4: one pitch. I know that's an easy thing to do,
- 6:04Speaker 4: easy thing to say, But there was really three hits
- 6:07Speaker 4: in this whole game.
- 6:08Speaker 5: It was three solo homers. Both teams pitched unbelievably well.
- 6:11Speaker 4: If I'm the Sacramento Athletics, I'm going where the hell
- 6:13Speaker 4: is one hundred from Luis Savarino the entire year, because
- 6:16Speaker 4: there was going one hundred with ninety five min hour cutterballs.
- 6:19Speaker 5: So, I mean, this was just a great game. It
- 6:22Speaker 5: was really well pitched.
- 6:23Speaker 4: Guys made pitches when they had you, guys stepped up
- 6:25Speaker 4: when they had to, and I don't want to.
- 6:27Speaker 5: I don't want to focus on that last pitch.
- 6:29Speaker 4: I know that's an easy thing to do, but okay,
- 6:32Speaker 4: let's say he does walk p Doma, then he punches
- 6:34Speaker 4: out Fernando Tatis. Nobody remembers that. So congratulations the US.
- 6:38Speaker 4: It was an unbelievable atmosphere, a great game. Let's just
- 6:41Speaker 4: focus on the positive. Let's let's not go the one
- 6:44Speaker 4: pitch because it's too easy and I'm not going there.
- 6:47Speaker 2: Okay.
- 6:47Speaker 1: The only thing I will say is I do think
- 6:50Speaker 1: that it was quite far from being a strike. Can
- 6:53Speaker 1: we show that the tango Tiger won the tweet there
- 6:56Speaker 1: from last night?
- 6:58Speaker 2: Thank you?
- 6:58Speaker 1: So these are challenges from MLB Spring training on the
- 7:01Speaker 1: fourteenth of March, so two days ago. The last pitch
- 7:05Speaker 1: of the WBC on the fifteenth tier last night was
- 7:09Speaker 1: three point seven inches from being a strike. Soto in
- 7:13Speaker 1: the eighth was one point eight inches. And actually, when
- 7:15Speaker 1: they show this graph, it says one point nine inches
- 7:19Speaker 1: and four point six inches regardless, even if we're a
- 7:23Speaker 1: few percentage points off. I mean, AJ, that's pretty far
- 7:27Speaker 1: below the zone. I agree with you. I don't want
- 7:29Speaker 1: to make it the whole thing. I'm just pointing out whatever,
- 7:32Speaker 1: you know what, I want to put it this way, AJ,
- 7:33Speaker 1: part of what this show does is bring up what
- 7:36Speaker 1: everyone else is talking about.
- 7:37Speaker 2: I'll be very blunt here.
- 7:38Speaker 1: I worked for MLB for twelve years and I felt
- 7:40Speaker 1: like often I would do talk shows and we weren't
- 7:42Speaker 1: talking about what everyone else was talking about.
- 7:45Speaker 2: This is what everyone is talking about.
- 7:47Speaker 1: So while we are slicing up the game and talking
- 7:49Speaker 1: about everything else, I do want to spend a few
- 7:51Speaker 1: minutes on it. And for me, AJ last night, what
- 7:53Speaker 1: I said was, if you want to blame anyone, you
- 7:55Speaker 1: can blame the league because and the umpire. Of course
- 7:58Speaker 1: you made a bad call. But this could have been
- 8:00Speaker 1: in the tournament. The tournament decided they didn't want to
- 8:03Speaker 1: have ABS because it hasn't been in an official Major
- 8:06Speaker 1: League regular season game yet, and so it will be
- 8:08Speaker 1: in the next tournament, that's a guarantee. But if we
- 8:12Speaker 1: had ABS challenge last year, then we would have had
- 8:14Speaker 1: it in the WBC. It was ready. League wanted to
- 8:16Speaker 1: wait another year. That whole committee that meets that decides
- 8:20Speaker 1: on these things. So that's where we're at. And because
- 8:22Speaker 1: that happened, you're going to have some crappy calls. You
- 8:24Speaker 1: know Sodo got squeezed. You can make a better case
- 8:27Speaker 1: there for me. Aj What are you supposed to do
- 8:29Speaker 1: for your perdoma? He's supposed to take.
- 8:32Speaker 5: Nothing an emergency, it's all. There's a back call.
- 8:35Speaker 4: No, he thought it was ball four. Was a great event.
- 8:37Speaker 4: He thought it was ball four. There's nothing you can
- 8:39Speaker 4: do about it. It's a shame that had ended this way.
- 8:41Speaker 4: But listen, they could have had w They could have
- 8:43Speaker 4: had ABS in the WBC. And they to say it
- 8:45Speaker 4: hasn't been played in a major league. So what isn't
- 8:48Speaker 4: this what this is all about? Trying new things? Excebit
- 8:51Speaker 4: this again. I know what people are saying. This is
- 8:53Speaker 4: I love the WBC. It's still an exhibition, so use
- 8:57Speaker 4: the ABS. This was the perfect proving ground, testing ground
- 8:59Speaker 4: for ABS. Why do we not have We haven't spring
- 9:01Speaker 4: training where the game's truly your exhibitions, but we don't
- 9:04Speaker 4: have it in the WBC. Come on, like it would
- 9:07Speaker 4: have made everything even better. No one could have complained.
- 9:10Speaker 4: Then it would have made more strategy. Who gets the challenge,
- 9:12Speaker 4: who doesn't get a challenge? So listen, there's no one
- 9:15Speaker 4: to blame for there being no ebs other than the
- 9:17Speaker 4: tournament itself.
- 9:19Speaker 1: I agree, and also Kratz, if you wanted to look
- 9:22Speaker 1: at Puerto Rico or Japan and say, hey, we don't
- 9:24Speaker 1: have the system.
- 9:25Speaker 2: Set up there.
- 9:25Speaker 1: Okay, cool, so let's do it for Miami. Right, Let's
- 9:30Speaker 1: do it for the semifinals. It's set up there. We
- 9:32Speaker 1: know it better be set up there. There's real baseball
- 9:34Speaker 1: getting played there in a week, so we could have
- 9:37Speaker 1: done it there.
- 9:38Speaker 2: You know. Sometimes it's so rigid.
- 9:39Speaker 1: It's like, oh, we can't do it yet because MLB
- 9:41Speaker 1: hasn't done it in the regular season, and we're not
- 9:43Speaker 1: going to do it for the whole tournament. It's like, so,
- 9:45Speaker 1: so it's something that can make things better, and you're
- 9:48Speaker 1: going to prevent it from happening.
- 9:49Speaker 2: That's the only thing that bothers me. Right.
- 9:52Speaker 1: There are many fans here that they're in tiers, players
- 9:55Speaker 1: in tiers, I mean country, living and dying off of
- 9:57Speaker 1: this world baseball class in terms of their fandom. This
- 10:01Speaker 1: is the biggest thing out there right. What went viral
- 10:04Speaker 1: multiple times over the past few days. Ar Trisha Whittaker
- 10:08Speaker 1: is on the scene in Miami talking to the guys
- 10:11Speaker 1: and multiple players from the Dominican are like, I would
- 10:15Speaker 1: rather win this than a World Series. It's no slight, right.
- 10:18Speaker 1: A World Series is a ten out of ten for me.
- 10:20Speaker 1: This is an eleven out of ten. It's different. It's
- 10:23Speaker 1: my country. It's that kind of passion and emotion that's
- 10:26Speaker 1: involved here, which I also thought was funny by the way,
- 10:29Speaker 1: AJ because there were some fans pushing back like, oh,
- 10:31Speaker 1: you're just trying to get these answers out of them.
- 10:33Speaker 1: Yet we're trying to explain to people how meaningful and
- 10:36Speaker 1: how nuts this tournament is in a good way. And
- 10:40Speaker 1: then of course because they're like, oh, you guys are
- 10:42Speaker 1: just asking questions, so like try and get you know,
- 10:44Speaker 1: viral answers. Well maybe these are answers people want to hear.
- 10:47Speaker 1: So I'm like, what what do you want us to
- 10:49Speaker 1: ask them? Like, hey, are you having fun? A good
- 10:51Speaker 1: old time? Plus, we didn't talk to Iron Judge And
- 10:53Speaker 1: here's the quote from him last night on this versus
- 10:58Speaker 1: the WBC crowds said it's bigger and better than the
- 11:01Speaker 1: World Series. He said, it's been bigger the World Series.
- 11:03Speaker 1: I was in the crowd here, the crowd we had
- 11:05Speaker 1: when we played in Mexico. It's bigger and better than
- 11:07Speaker 1: the World Series. The passion these fans have, there's nothing
- 11:10Speaker 1: like it. Now, did he say he'd rather win this
- 11:12Speaker 1: than a World Series. No, that's what some of the
- 11:15Speaker 1: others said. But the point is there are a lot
- 11:17Speaker 1: of comparisons being made between the WBC and the playoffs
- 11:21Speaker 1: slash World Series, and I think it's awesome.
- 11:23Speaker 2: I'm looking for that content. So I'm like, I'm sorry,
- 11:26Speaker 2: you might not agree, but free Country. We're gonna ask
- 11:28Speaker 2: those questions, and I think the answers have been sick.
- 11:32Speaker 5: Yeah. I mean, listen, I love the WBC. We know this.
- 11:36Speaker 4: I love covering it, I love being there. It's a
- 11:38Speaker 4: different crowd it is for your country. There is music blossom,
- 11:41Speaker 4: there is drums playing, there's people dancing, there's people living
- 11:45Speaker 4: and dying. And not that people don't do that for
- 11:47Speaker 4: the World Series with their team, but anytime we've talked
- 11:50Speaker 4: about this, anytime you put your country across your chest,
- 11:53Speaker 4: it's a different thing. So I love this. I love
- 11:55Speaker 4: the enthusiasm. I love, love, love the way the crowds
- 11:58Speaker 4: have been in this. I mean you can say about
- 12:00Speaker 4: Brazil or Great Britain when the US played them, and
- 12:02Speaker 4: I was in Houston for those, but.
- 12:03Speaker 5: Those crowds are crazy too. Now you up the intensity.
- 12:06Speaker 4: Throw in Mexico, you're throw in Italy and US playing
- 12:08Speaker 4: for a spot to the next round.
- 12:10Speaker 5: You throw in Uh.
- 12:12Speaker 4: Then you get to Miami and you throw in Venezuela
- 12:14Speaker 4: Verus Japan and you have literally Japanese fans crying after
- 12:18Speaker 4: they lose, right, and Venezuelan guys people crying because they're
- 12:21Speaker 4: so excited.
- 12:22Speaker 5: This is what it's all about. Now.
- 12:24Speaker 4: And you also, by the way, you can't do this
- 12:26Speaker 4: one hundred and sixty two games, four or five, six games. Yes,
- 12:29Speaker 4: but people that say, why can't regular season games you
- 12:31Speaker 4: like this, You couldn't do it.
- 12:32Speaker 5: You can't.
- 12:33Speaker 4: You can't make people this excited for one hundred and
- 12:35Speaker 4: sixty two games it's just too much.
- 12:37Speaker 5: But for the World Series, for the playoffs. Absolutely, I
- 12:40Speaker 5: love this.
- 12:41Speaker 4: I think it's great, but you just can't replicate it
- 12:43Speaker 4: because it's something different when you're playing for where you're from,
- 12:46Speaker 4: where your family's from, and how much that means to people.
- 12:52Speaker 2: Yeah, I want to oh, go ahead, crats, you got something.
- 12:55Speaker 3: No, No, I was just gonna say the only I mean,
- 12:58Speaker 3: how many how many households in the America tuned into
- 13:01Speaker 3: curling when it was on in the Olympics. You can't
- 13:03Speaker 3: like it's a small little snippet, but because of the
- 13:07Speaker 3: country across your chest, like there's a different type of
- 13:10Speaker 3: like feeling when you get to watch it, and then
- 13:13Speaker 3: you you know, you multiply that by a billion because
- 13:17Speaker 3: this is the country's Like, these are the country's best
- 13:21Speaker 3: players in baseball. It's the best sport in their country.
- 13:24Speaker 3: And so this is why they're that amped. And I
- 13:26Speaker 3: think what Judge said was very applicable for a guy
- 13:30Speaker 3: that never played winter ball, like to be able to
- 13:33Speaker 3: experience that and see how much love there is. We're
- 13:35Speaker 3: just getting a little snippet of it here with a WBC.
- 13:39Speaker 1: Last part, and this is important. It leads matching up
- 13:42Speaker 1: against Venezuela tonight and again we'll have a postgame show.
- 13:45Speaker 1: We thought it was going to be Michael Lorenzen. Francisco
- 13:48Speaker 1: Cervelli has made a little switch through. Michael Lorenzen is
- 13:51Speaker 1: going to be held for a potential title game. Aaron
- 13:56Speaker 1: Nola is going to pitch tonight's semi final game. Again,
- 14:00Speaker 1: it's Venezuela. They like the matchup better, and they like
- 14:02Speaker 1: holding Lorenzen for a USA lineup that he was able
- 14:05Speaker 1: to take down aj Do you like this decision by
- 14:08Speaker 1: Survelli to throw the same guy potentially out there again
- 14:12Speaker 1: against a lineup full of superstars or would you rather said, hey,
- 14:15Speaker 1: let me give him a different look in Aaron Nola
- 14:17Speaker 1: This time.
- 14:18Speaker 4: He had success. Why change it? He had success, they
- 14:21Speaker 4: won the game. I would stick with it. The only
- 14:24Speaker 4: the real thing for me is Aaron Nola in the Phillies.
- 14:26Speaker 4: I guess he'd still be on schedule. So the Phillies
- 14:28Speaker 4: are okay with it. But my biggest thing is the
- 14:32Speaker 4: advantage that the US has because they got a day
- 14:34Speaker 4: off in between their semi final and the finals tomorrow.
- 14:37Speaker 4: Venezuela and or Italy, whoever wins, they don't get a
- 14:39Speaker 4: day off. So can guys go back to back? Out
- 14:42Speaker 4: of the bull by Mason Miller? Guess what, he gets
- 14:44Speaker 4: a day off. All the bullpen guys for the US,
- 14:48Speaker 4: whitlock right, gets a day off in between. All these
- 14:51Speaker 4: guys get the day off in between.
- 14:53Speaker 5: Instead of just jumping in and saying, oh man, who
- 14:56Speaker 5: can't pitch back to back?
- 14:57Speaker 4: So it's a different managerial style. Maybe Survelli thinks Nola
- 15:01Speaker 4: can go a little deeper and try to save some
- 15:02Speaker 4: of his bullpen guys for tomorrow if they win.
- 15:05Speaker 5: Venezuela is in the same boat with Omar Lopez.
- 15:07Speaker 4: He's starting cater Montero and then who does he go
- 15:10Speaker 4: after that because he has to think that man tomorrow.
- 15:12Speaker 5: I got another nine innings possibly to cover.
- 15:14Speaker 4: So it's an advantage for the US that they get
- 15:17Speaker 4: the day off, they get to relax a little bit.
- 15:18Speaker 4: But it's still gonna be an amazing atmosphere. And I
- 15:21Speaker 4: like this, I like I get I think it's Servelli saying,
- 15:23Speaker 4: maybe Nola can give us a little bit more today
- 15:26Speaker 4: and then I can maybe save some bullets in the
- 15:29Speaker 4: bullpen for tomorrow if we get through.
- 15:32Speaker 3: Yeah, I think it's more about today's game and less
- 15:35Speaker 3: about the final. You can't look ahead because you have
- 15:37Speaker 3: to win this game. But also, Lorenzen, how many times
- 15:42Speaker 3: do you want the same guys to see the same
- 15:45Speaker 3: pitcher again. We'll see they got to win today, and
- 15:48Speaker 3: I think he's made that move for today.
- 15:51Speaker 2: It's gonna be fun. We're excited about it.
- 15:53Speaker 1: All of it is on Fox and The Fox one app,

- 16:25Speaker 2: Now.
- 16:27Speaker 1: I have a funny question for you. Have you been
- 16:29Speaker 1: paying attention to spring training games? Not results? But I
- 16:33Speaker 1: find it really difficult to pay attention to almost anything
- 16:36Speaker 1: with spring training for the past couple weeks. And that's okay.
- 16:39Speaker 1: I want everyone to know that's okay. It's okay for
- 16:41Speaker 1: us too, as a baseball show that's watching games every
- 16:44Speaker 1: night and reading about the sport and just trying to
- 16:47Speaker 1: be as dialed in as possible for you all to just.
- 16:49Speaker 2: Take a step away.
- 16:50Speaker 1: We're not taking a step away like, oh, it's our
- 16:54Speaker 1: Christmas New Year's break and we all take a week off.
- 16:57Speaker 1: This is like, no, there's real tournament action going on
- 17:01Speaker 1: with passion and juice. And I watch some highlights on
- 17:06Speaker 1: MLB of some spring training. I barely even watch. I
- 17:09Speaker 1: kind of listen, and then if it's like John Carlow
- 17:12Speaker 1: hit a couple homers the other day, I want to
- 17:13Speaker 1: see what they look like. Maybe a few highlights on socials,
- 17:16Speaker 1: but otherwise, crats, I'm good man. As we know, the
- 17:21Speaker 1: results don't mean a ton as far as the stats.
- 17:25Speaker 1: You've got some competitions going on, but it just all
- 17:28Speaker 1: is second fiddle right now for the next couple days.
- 17:32Speaker 3: Full transparency. I am a baseball junkie. I really do
- 17:36Speaker 3: love the game of baseball, and I can watch almost anything.
- 17:40Speaker 3: But when I am watching a WBC game and then
- 17:43Speaker 3: I'm like, oh, I haven't seen enough spring training, boom,
- 17:47Speaker 3: turn it on the next day, I'm like, oh, big
- 17:52Speaker 3: letdown for me. And I love watching spring I love
- 17:54Speaker 3: watching when different guys get in, how guys are ramping up,
- 17:57Speaker 3: where they're at catchers working all that stuff. I love
- 18:00Speaker 3: watching everything. But I mean, the only thing I want
- 18:02Speaker 3: to see about spring training is can j Young Carlos
- 18:05Speaker 3: Stanton hit a dinger and open bags of chips at
- 18:08Speaker 3: the same time, Like that's all I really want to
- 18:10Speaker 3: see about spring I'm locked into WBC.
- 18:13Speaker 2: I think a sponsor needs to do something. I mean, g.
- 18:16Speaker 1: Wouldn't do this, but I don't think you take a
- 18:18Speaker 1: chip sponsor and they're like, hey for an hour. John
- 18:21Speaker 1: Carlo's going to make appearances and everybody can feel like
- 18:23Speaker 1: they're stronger than him by opening up chips.
- 18:26Speaker 3: He doesn't eat chips. I've seen this dude with his
- 18:28Speaker 3: shirt off. He hasn't had a chip since since the nineties. Like,
- 18:32Speaker 3: there's no way the guy's not eating chips. So the
- 18:35Speaker 3: elbow injury, he's saying, bagging us. He's going for fifty
- 18:38Speaker 3: five this year.
- 18:39Speaker 2: Chips, no dangers.
- 18:43Speaker 1: Dangers, Uh, we'll see. I mean, he's got to stay
- 18:48Speaker 1: on the field. Just have somebody else personally open up
- 18:52Speaker 1: any kind of bag for him, and he just shows
- 18:54Speaker 1: up and hits dangers. Our Spring Training Tour is engineered

- 19:15Speaker 1: Today is Monday. We are done on Thursday calendar for you.
- 19:19Speaker 1: We started in Arizona for a couple of weeks, We've
- 19:22Speaker 1: done two full weeks in Florida, and now we will
- 19:25Speaker 1: finish up with the Pirates, the Blue Jays, and the
- 19:28Speaker 1: Phillies for our last three camps before we get set
- 19:32Speaker 1: for the season because after that we're a week away
- 19:34Speaker 1: from the start of the MLB regular season. Okay, segment wise,
- 19:39Speaker 1: let's hit hot Corner. Now, we're still sizzling here Hot Corner.
- 19:50Speaker 1: Check out more information at fastenall dot com. They're sponsoring
- 19:53Speaker 1: the segment. Randy Rosarina and Cal Raley are about to
- 19:59Speaker 1: be friends again in Mariners camp. But from the weekend, AJ,
- 20:05Speaker 1: did you see Friday Night? Josh Naylor also getting into
- 20:09Speaker 1: some serious beef with Cal I kid, I kid. Josh
- 20:12Speaker 1: told us after the game that he called Cal and
- 20:15Speaker 1: was like, I'm gonna do it. I'm gonna go up
- 20:17Speaker 1: and try and tap you up, and Cal's like, don't
- 20:20Speaker 1: do it. And Josh still did it, which I think
- 20:22Speaker 1: is amazing because I actually thought of you, Aj. I
- 20:25Speaker 1: feel like you would do that if you were in
- 20:26Speaker 1: that scenario and be like I'm going to do it
- 20:28Speaker 1: in a WBC just control you.
- 20:32Speaker 4: No, actually, Scott, that's where you're wrong, because I wouldn't
- 20:34Speaker 4: do that because you know why.
- 20:36Speaker 5: I would not do that.
- 20:37Speaker 4: You know why because when he called Cal, Cal said
- 20:39Speaker 4: please don't do it, So you have to have a
- 20:42Speaker 4: little respect, dude. I would have said, if you call
- 20:44Speaker 4: him first and he says don't.
- 20:45Speaker 5: Then listen. It's all in fun. They laughed about it,
- 20:48Speaker 5: and who cares. But do you also see the Savannah
- 20:51Speaker 5: bananas played a little thing off of it too, So yeah,
- 20:54Speaker 5: where they jumped up and hugged him. So I think
- 20:57Speaker 5: it's all fun.
- 20:57Speaker 4: There'll be friends once they get back to Arizona before
- 21:00Speaker 4: they head to Seattle.
- 21:01Speaker 5: But yeah, it's a lot of it's a lot about
- 21:03Speaker 5: nothing for me?
- 21:06Speaker 2: Is it still about nothing? I mean, you keep seeing
- 21:08Speaker 2: like the rumblings that Randy is truly pitched.
- 21:13Speaker 5: Come on, what's he gonna be mad about? Dude?
- 21:15Speaker 4: Come on, he's should be mad they didn't make the
- 21:16Speaker 4: next round. Me should be mad about that. But I mean, listen,
- 21:20Speaker 4: Cal warned him and he did it, and whatever, I
- 21:23Speaker 4: don't care.
- 21:23Speaker 5: I'm over this. Let's move on.
- 21:25Speaker 4: Venezuela Italy USA versus the winner. Let's talk about that.
- 21:28Speaker 4: I'm over this stuff.
- 21:29Speaker 5: It's so long. It's so long ago.
- 21:32Speaker 3: I texted somebody on Team Mexico. They feel like maybe
- 21:35Speaker 3: Randy was joking, but he wasn't even sure either. So
- 21:39Speaker 3: that's that's new news to me, new news to me.
- 21:44Speaker 1: That's why I'm bringing it up. I don't want to
- 21:49Speaker 1: be the gossip show, but I mean it did carry
- 21:53Speaker 1: itself over almost a week's time.
- 21:56Speaker 2: Hey, J.
- 21:56Speaker 1: And then I don't know, I'm assuming Randy's at camp now,
- 21:59Speaker 1: but then I guess, you know, the guys might take
- 22:01Speaker 1: a day or two.
- 22:02Speaker 2: And people are like, oh, Randy's still not at camp.
- 22:04Speaker 1: Oh yeah, he's just not going to show up and
- 22:06Speaker 1: take almost twenty million dollars this year to play baseball
- 22:09Speaker 1: because he didn't get a high five during a game.
- 22:11Speaker 2: Come on, I mean, let's.
- 22:14Speaker 5: He got traded and didn't show up.
- 22:15Speaker 3: He got traded and stayed and watched and watched a
- 22:18Speaker 3: game from the team he got traded from.
- 22:19Speaker 5: So it's totally fine.
- 22:21Speaker 3: Randy will get there. Randy's gonna have his above average
- 22:24Speaker 3: season and then he's gonna go into free agency. Cal's
- 22:26Speaker 3: gonna hit forty homers and people are gonna say, what's
- 22:29Speaker 3: wrong with Cal, Everything's fine.
- 22:34Speaker 1: People are going to say that aj Cal's gonna hit
- 22:37Speaker 1: forty home runs and they're gonna be like, what happened
- 22:39Speaker 1: to Kyle Riley?
- 22:40Speaker 2: Big hits the number? This was big?
- 22:44Speaker 5: He hits thirty plus every year. So I mean, listen,
- 22:47Speaker 5: just because you hit sixty one year, you know not
- 22:49Speaker 5: everyone can do it. So let's just throw that out
- 22:52Speaker 5: there too. I mean, nobody can do it.
- 22:54Speaker 2: I know this.
- 22:54Speaker 5: If there's a beef.
- 22:55Speaker 4: I know this, if there's a beef between the two,
- 22:58Speaker 4: there's one of them that could be traded and the
- 22:59Speaker 4: other one's not getting traded. So let's you also got
- 23:02Speaker 4: to kind of know where you stand.
- 23:03Speaker 1: It's the Mariners I think have had the most thrilling
- 23:10Speaker 1: rollercoaster ride during the World Baseball Classic. Now, let's take
- 23:14Speaker 1: one piece of last night that we didn't get to
- 23:16Speaker 1: because we got to almost everything else between the postgame
- 23:18Speaker 1: show last night and today. I don't know if we
- 23:20Speaker 1: actually mentioned Julia Rodriguez hit by a pitch. Next half inning,
- 23:24Speaker 1: you're like, oh, he's good. I mean that doesn't necessarily
- 23:26Speaker 1: mean that you can make a sick catch like that
- 23:28Speaker 1: and not be heard. But Mariners fans looking at that
- 23:31Speaker 1: freaking out, the Mariners organization freaking out, and then Aj,
- 23:34Speaker 1: the captcha in center field was nice?
- 23:37Speaker 5: Was that all going out? We had I had this conversation.
- 23:39Speaker 5: Was that all going I mean, it was a great catch,
- 23:43Speaker 5: but even he said they showed him in the dugout
- 23:46Speaker 5: and he was saying it how he thought it might
- 23:48Speaker 5: hit the top.
- 23:49Speaker 4: I mean, it was an unbelievable catch. And judge, judge
- 23:52Speaker 4: gave him. The judge was trying to get him to
- 23:53Speaker 4: look at him and he wouldn't. And he gave the
- 23:55Speaker 4: old no fly zone out there that he does in
- 23:57Speaker 4: center when he's in Seattle.
- 23:58Speaker 5: So it was a great catch. It was a sick catch.
- 24:00Speaker 5: It was awesome moment.
- 24:02Speaker 4: But I don't know if the ball is going out,
- 24:05Speaker 4: but it was close and it was.
- 24:06Speaker 3: Cool keeping it one hundred yep and may not have
- 24:10Speaker 3: gone out, but it still was a great catch and.
- 24:15Speaker 5: It really is a no fly zone.
- 24:18Speaker 1: Hey, we're back and while we have a moment, AJ,
- 24:21Speaker 1: I think it's going to be a quick slap pans.
- 24:23Speaker 2: So let's do this now.
- 24:24Speaker 1: The thanks to the Tigers, as we continue to thank
- 24:27Speaker 1: teams for hosting us and hooking us up with many
- 24:32Speaker 1: key players, and key parts of the organization. Great one
- 24:35Speaker 1: today getting all the big boys out in Lakeland.
- 24:38Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 24:39Speaker 4: The only way I missed was schoolball because he was throwing.
- 24:41Speaker 4: Oh wait, no, he's not here. He's with Team USA
- 24:43Speaker 4: cheering them on. So but you know, this is again
- 24:47Speaker 4: I keep saying this. Thank you to the Detroit Tigers,
- 24:49Speaker 4: thank you to the PR people here, thank you to
- 24:51Speaker 4: the players themselves, Thank you aj Hinch for coming out
- 24:54Speaker 4: and spending almost twenty minutes with us, Justin Verlander, Riley
- 24:58Speaker 4: green Well, Dylan Ding and last but not least, we
- 25:02Speaker 4: had who was the other one? Oh my gosh, I
- 25:03Speaker 4: just went like, uh, the Kerry Carboner, the guy who
- 25:06Speaker 4: owns George Kirby.
- 25:07Speaker 5: So thank you, Thank you guys. I really do appreciate it.
- 25:09Speaker 4: And Tigers, thank you for treating an al central foe
- 25:12Speaker 4: like one of your own. And it's it's just cool
- 25:15Speaker 4: to get in here and talk to these guys and
- 25:17Speaker 4: see him and I feel like I never left since
- 25:18Speaker 4: I had him at the end of the postseason last year.
- 25:21Speaker 1: Yeah, and thanks to Peter and Colin from the Tigers specifically.
- 25:24Speaker 2: Helping us out today.
- 25:26Speaker 1: Absolutely, And while we have one more minute here during
- 25:29Speaker 1: the break, for the TV crowd. Can we show this
- 25:32Speaker 1: tweet from Brian hoak Aj. We mentioned before when you
- 25:36Speaker 1: were an on for a second. Everything else in spring
- 25:38Speaker 1: training gets buried, but I just wanted to make sure
- 25:40Speaker 1: this one came to life. Meredith Morokovich, who reports on
- 25:43Speaker 1: The Yankee, said Cam Schlitzler needed Yankee security to extract
- 25:46Speaker 1: a spider from his locker before today's game.
- 25:51Speaker 4: Well, I don't understand was it? How big was the spider?
- 25:55Speaker 4: Was it like this big? I don't like, can't you
- 25:57Speaker 4: just take your shoe and the spider? Are we trying
- 25:59Speaker 4: to save the spider?
- 26:01Speaker 5: I don't.
- 26:01Speaker 3: I hope. I hope it was Mock because Mack is
- 26:05Speaker 3: one of the security guys with the Yankees, and he
- 26:08Speaker 3: used to tell me. He used to tell me a
- 26:09Speaker 3: story about squirrels. He had to take care of his
- 26:12Speaker 3: squirrels that were all in his house. So he's a
- 26:15Speaker 3: big time extiminated if he's taking spiders and squirrels out
- 26:20Speaker 3: of his Out of different guys lockes.
- 26:23Speaker 2: You gotta call Mack. Here comes Mack.
- 26:27Speaker 3: Mack is one of my favorite security guys of all time.
- 26:30Speaker 3: Best stormy.
- 26:32Speaker 2: Guess guess what Mock did? He went into the locker
- 26:35Speaker 2: and he did this. He did a little flick and
- 26:37Speaker 2: he was like, I got you.
- 26:39Speaker 3: You're good. Camp.
- 26:46Speaker 1: That MGM games to bet On is always so so sweet.
- 26:51Speaker 1: We're gonna have that basically for a six month stretch here.
- 26:55Speaker 1: Let's keep it rolling. WBC Friday locks to father hit
- 27:00Speaker 1: with his plus four and a half piece for Canada.
- 27:02Speaker 1: Kept the game close against the US. You guys thought
- 27:05Speaker 1: it was gonna be a high scoring game ten runs
- 27:08Speaker 1: or more. Didn't get there. So let's fast forward and
- 27:12Speaker 1: land on tonight money bags for you. We're just dealing
- 27:15Speaker 1: with a few bets so far here as we get
- 27:18Speaker 1: going Venezuela against Italy tonight, AJ, what do you think
- 27:21Speaker 1: is gonna happen?
- 27:23Speaker 5: A lot of runs?
- 27:23Speaker 4: A lot a lot of runs because we already talked
- 27:25Speaker 4: about earlier in the show where teams are gonna have
- 27:28Speaker 4: to keep their bullpen a little bit. I don't know
- 27:31Speaker 4: if they can deploy all their best arms. I know
- 27:33Speaker 4: they have to win this game to get to the next,
- 27:35Speaker 4: but they're gonna have to save somebody.
- 27:37Speaker 5: So I think that there's gonna be over ten runs scored.
- 27:40Speaker 4: I think this is a pretty easy over, much like
- 27:42Speaker 4: when the US or excuse me. When Japan played Venezuela,
- 27:45Speaker 4: the over under was like seven and a half and
- 27:47Speaker 4: I'm like over over over, So I feel like there's
- 27:50Speaker 4: gonna be some serious run scored in this game.
- 27:53Speaker 3: I'm gonna go with the over also, but I'm buying
- 27:56Speaker 3: up another half of run, so I'm gonna go ten
- 27:58Speaker 3: and a half to get me to even money at
- 28:00Speaker 3: plus one hundred.
- 28:03Speaker 1: Ah okay, so you think it's going to be eleven
- 28:09Speaker 1: or more, I guess for aj if he's at a
- 28:11Speaker 1: ten flat. If it's ten, it's a push for me. Venezuela,
- 28:17Speaker 1: I think they're going to beat Italy. I think the
- 28:21Speaker 1: Cinderella run is going to come to a close here.
- 28:23Speaker 1: I think there is more overall talent on the Venezuela roster,
- 28:28Speaker 1: and I think they're going to pull this off Kaider
- 28:30Speaker 1: Montero for one time through the order and then they'll
- 28:33Speaker 1: mix and match with the bullpen. It's minus one and
- 28:36Speaker 1: a half, so I need Venezuela buy two runs or
- 28:38Speaker 1: more buying one twenty five to win a hondo. And
- 28:43Speaker 1: those other two picks are actually different that we got
- 28:45Speaker 1: to tweak that, but crap, you should be at plus
- 28:47Speaker 1: one hundred for the over ten and a half and
- 28:50Speaker 1: then aj at minus one.
- 28:52Speaker 2: Fifteen for what he's rolling with.
- 28:55Speaker 1: And Hey, the pick a twin to win share of
- 28:58Speaker 1: two million dollars in bonus bets is running right now
- 29:02Speaker 1: on the bet MGM app, so you can opt into
- 29:05Speaker 1: the pick a twin to win the tongue twister there
- 29:09Speaker 1: with the Cavender Twins game. Select which of the twins
- 29:13Speaker 1: Heley or Hannah you think is going to win their
- 29:15Speaker 1: Court of Legends one on one basketball game out in Vegas.
- 29:18Speaker 1: If your twin that you select wins, you get a
- 29:21Speaker 1: share of two million dollars in bonus bets. Let's slap
- 29:37Speaker 1: and most importantly, let's remind everyone that we do another
- 29:41Speaker 1: show tonight after Italy and Venezuela. They just made a change.
- 29:45Speaker 1: Aaron Nola is pitching tonight for Italy. It's going to
- 29:48Speaker 1: be a great matchup coverage after every USA game, so
- 29:51Speaker 1: that means one more for them the title game.
- 29:53Speaker 2: We'll have these last two for you post.
- 29:55Speaker 1: Game all on the ft YouTube channel and those post
- 29:58Speaker 1: games are presented by five one. It's been awesome to
- 30:01Speaker 1: see everyone tomorrow or tonight for postgamp No
