- 1:45SPEAKER_01: Let's go tonight.
- 1:46SPEAKER_01: Right now.
- 1:47SPEAKER_01: Let's go to Vegas.
- 1:48SPEAKER_02: Hey, welcome to episode 149 of Vegas Revealed.
- 1:52SPEAKER_02: It's Dana Roselli in Rochester, New York, and Sean McAllister in lovely Las Vegas.
- 1:59SPEAKER_02: This is going to be a short one, folks.
- 2:00SPEAKER_02: We thought we were going to do a full-on podcast, and then, well, I got stuck in that Southwest nightmare.
- 2:07SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I was supposed to fly back to Las Vegas on Christmas night.
- 2:10SPEAKER_02: I've been here since the 18th of December.
- 2:13SPEAKER_02: And they rebooked me for Friday, the 30th.
- 2:17SPEAKER_02: And I don't even know if those are going to go off.
- 2:19SPEAKER_02: So we wanted to say happy new year, though, and hop on here and do episode 149 so that we can start fresh for the new year at 150, right, Sean?
- 2:29Sean McAllister: Yeah, Dana, I have felt so bad for you.
- 2:32Sean McAllister: I mean, we've been in pretty much constant contact throughout the time that you've been back in Western New York.
- 2:38Sean McAllister: You got in right before that huge winter storm hit.
- 2:42Sean McAllister: You were there for all of it.
- 2:44Sean McAllister: Um, and then uh that realization slowly started kicking in that uh thanks to Southwest, the chances of getting out as scheduled were pretty much wiped out.
- 2:56Sean McAllister: And then trying to figure out when you'd even be able to get out, um, that was a tough time.
- 3:04Sean McAllister: So I have felt bad for you.
- 3:05Sean McAllister: However, I am glad that you're able to uh be there and spend time uh with your family during the holidays.
- 3:12Sean McAllister: I know that this is a good time to eat and drink and play games and get outside and enjoy the snow.
- 3:20Sean McAllister: Um, but here in Las Vegas, Dana, it's been quite the opposite of that.
- 3:25Sean McAllister: I don't want to rub it in, but I have been out working in the backyard.
- 3:29Sean McAllister: We putting in a new patio and enjoying the Las Vegas weather here in the wintertime.
- 3:36SPEAKER_02: Listen, I look forward to returning to Las Vegas.
- 3:39SPEAKER_02: I'm looking at your weather, seeing it 65 and sunny.
- 3:42SPEAKER_02: Boy, you really do appreciate.
- 3:43SPEAKER_02: I always knew when I moved to Las Vegas and ended up staying there that I loved it.
- 3:47SPEAKER_02: And um it's just something about it's great.
- 3:50SPEAKER_02: I don't know, you know, we don't have a lot of disruption or weather issues, and we're pretty lucky to live there.
- 3:56SPEAKER_02: And um, you know, living and coming from Rochester, New York, I love and I love it here.
- 4:02SPEAKER_02: I love being with my parents, but it is interesting when you see like it's a middle-sized city, it's not like a major hub, it's there's no direct flight from Las Vegas, so it can be difficult to get in and out, and it's frustrating, you know.
- 4:14SPEAKER_02: You're seeing everyone else like find alternate ways out, and um, you don't really have any options, and everything's more expensive.
- 4:22SPEAKER_02: So, but it is what it is, right?
- 4:24Sean McAllister: It is, and you know, those are the the perils of traveling during uh the holiday season.
- 4:30Sean McAllister: Uh, but uh I think it is uh going to be interesting to see whether all of these airline issues, and I guess it's mainly Southwest, but that is, you know, one of the major air carriers in and out of uh Harry Reid International Airport here in Las Vegas.
- 4:47Sean McAllister: It'll be interesting to see if all of these flight issues clear up in time to bring 300,000 people to Las Vegas for New Year's Eve.
- 5:00Sean McAllister: I mean, uh we have The Killers performing at the Cosmopolitan, Gwen Stefani performing at the Venetian, Bruno Mars over at Park MGM, Adele over at Caesars Palace with her residency, also uh Steve Aoki is performing out at the pool for a VIP event, also at Caesars Palace.
- 5:21Sean McAllister: And then, of course, there's the the big festival down on Fremont Street with eight bands, great environment, great vibe down there.
- 5:31Sean McAllister: Um, but the festivities can only reach a climax if all the people are able to get here and enjoy all of that.
- 5:39Sean McAllister: So hopefully everything works out, and we have a great New Year's Eve here in Las Vegas, and you know, hopefully we see you soon too, Dana.
- 5:48SPEAKER_02: I know there's a lot of exciting fireworks going on and things going on for New Year's Eve.
- 5:52SPEAKER_02: Not sure if I'll be there, but catching some of the news from Las Vegas, I saw that uh Bat Out of Hell at the Paris Theater is closing on January 1st.
- 6:01SPEAKER_02: Was sad to see that.
- 6:02SPEAKER_02: I saw the show.
- 6:02SPEAKER_02: I really enjoyed it.
- 6:04SPEAKER_02: I'm really hoping Travis Clover and Ann Martinez, who live here in Las Vegas, can find something else and maybe do something together because they were great in that show.
- 6:12SPEAKER_02: That theater has struggled ever since Jersey Boys left, and they have not been able to find a permanent show for it.
- 6:18Sean McAllister: So we'll see what comes in the new year with that.
- 6:21Sean McAllister: And speaking of that, Dana, um, I know this episode we were planning on running down a lot of the new entertainment that's coming to Las Vegas in the new year.
- 6:32Sean McAllister: Um given the separation and the current state of stuff, I think we'll uh probably push that to episode 150 coming up our first episode of 2023.
- 6:46unknown: Happy New Year.
- 6:51SPEAKER_02: Anyway, wanted to say happy new year.
- 6:54SPEAKER_02: Thanks for supporting us.
- 6:55SPEAKER_02: Thanks for listening to Vegas Reveal.
- 6:56SPEAKER_02: We'll have a lot to discuss when uh I get back and we do episode 150 to kick off the new year of 2023.
- 7:04SPEAKER_02: We also have some exciting news.
- 7:05SPEAKER_02: We're going to be making appearances on a station in Los Angeles to talk about what's going on in Las Vegas.
- 7:11SPEAKER_02: So we'll have more details on that, but you'll be able to actually see Sean and I.
- 7:14SPEAKER_02: And that'll be fun if you live in Los Angeles and you listen to Vegas Revealed.
- 7:18SPEAKER_02: We're excited to be able to bring that to you and have some new adventures for the new year.
- 7:23SPEAKER_02: So, Sean, take it over and say goodbye.
- 7:26SPEAKER_02: Happy New Year, everyone, and Sean, I'll see you soon.
- 7:28Sean McAllister: All right, Dana.
- 7:29Sean McAllister: We do hope that you uh have safe travels back and hopefully it's uh smooth sailing up in those friendly skies.
- 7:38Sean McAllister: Um, we do want to say thank you to our sponsor, Vegas Near Me, uh, which, as you've been listening, has been available on the Apple uh app store for uh a while now since we've you know started talking about it.
- 7:54Sean McAllister: Soon it's going to be coming to Google Play.
- 7:58Sean McAllister: So if you're an Android user, Vegas Near Me is coming to you very, very soon.
- 8:05Sean McAllister: So stay tuned.
- 8:06Sean McAllister: We'll have all the latest developments with that.
- 8:08Sean McAllister: Vegas Near Me, thank you so much.
- 8:10Sean McAllister: Uh really uh an important tool to help you navigate Las Vegas like a concierge in your pocket for everything to do or see.
- 8:21Sean McAllister: It's on Vegas near me.
- 8:23Sean McAllister: As Dana mentioned, hope you have a fantastic, happy, healthy, safe new year.
- 8:30Sean McAllister: And we will be back again in 2023.
- 8:38SPEAKER_01: The desert sky is cold, but in the eyes will ride.
- 8:42SPEAKER_01: Ryan on a Friday and the baby then to the fifteen rest on top.
