- 0:00Speaker 1: A wolf pack is not an accidental gathering of hunters.
- 0:16Speaker 2: I tend to think of myself as a one-man wolf pack.
- 0:21Speaker 2: But when my sister brought Doug home, I knew he
- 0:23Speaker 2: was one of my own. And my wolf pack, it
- 0:27Speaker 2: grew by one.
- 0:30Speaker 3: Wolfpack in the house!
- 0:46Speaker 1: The date is October 5th, 2026 and you are listening
- 0:50Speaker 1: to DFW's The Wolfpack. This is episode 4. Appreciate you
- 0:54Speaker 1: listening and thanks to those of you returning. I am
- 0:57Speaker 1: the White Wolf, Rene DeLeon. And I am joined by
- 1:01Speaker 1: the love of the quietest himself, Manny Galvan.
- 1:07Speaker 3: How about them cowboys?
- 1:09Speaker 1: Boy, I knew you were happy.
- 1:12Speaker 3: I mean, it was a roller coaster of emotions.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Oh, dude, it happened. All the games have been. We'll
- 1:18Speaker 1: get into that here pretty soon. But yeah, they've been
- 1:20Speaker 1: really roller coasters. The Longhorn games have been roller coasters. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:26Speaker 1: If you would like to comment on the pod, you
- 1:28Speaker 1: can find us on our social media at WolfpackDFW. That's
- 1:31Speaker 1: at WolfpackDFW for both Instagram and Twitter slash X. I've
- 1:36Speaker 1: been getting a lot of good feedback, man. I was
- 1:39Speaker 1: telling you off air or before that yesterday in Grapevine,
- 1:43Speaker 1: I met a guy who's a listener. I didn't even
- 1:45Speaker 1: know who he was talking to. We were just talking,
- 1:47Speaker 1: and he asked me, what do you do? I told
- 1:48Speaker 1: him what I do, and then I told him about
- 1:51Speaker 1: the radio show and the podcast. He goes, He goes,
- 1:53Speaker 1: what station? I said, we did it during the summer
- 1:56Speaker 1: down to Ticket. He's like, wait, are you the new guys?
- 1:58Speaker 1: The Wolfpack? And he's like, dude, I listen to your podcast.
- 2:01Speaker 1: Shout out to Charles in Grapevine who listened to us.
- 2:04Speaker 1: What about you? You got any feedback about the last
- 2:07Speaker 1: show that went? Ape shit, man. I went ape shit
- 2:11Speaker 1: over it. Yeah, you know, that was... 100 downloads in
- 2:13Speaker 1: a day.
- 2:14Speaker 3: That was nice to see.
- 2:15Speaker 1: Incredible. And I know we did it short notice because,
- 2:18Speaker 1: you know, we did it a short week. Because, you know,
- 2:21Speaker 1: we did it on Thursday. We dropped it on Friday. Normally,
- 2:24Speaker 1: people don't listen to us on the weekends because we're
- 2:26Speaker 1: talking about stuff before and previewing the stuff that they're
- 2:30Speaker 1: watching on the weekends. So, the fact that it was
- 2:33Speaker 1: 101 in a day, dude, downloads was incredible.
- 2:36Speaker 3: Yeah, that was great. That was great to see. You know,
- 2:39Speaker 3: gave me a little tickle in my pickle a little.
- 2:43Speaker 1: Bit.
- 2:45Speaker 3: But, yeah, I haven't heard... You know, our regular Jeff
- 2:50Speaker 3: Ortiz hasn't really given us a review yet. His thoughts
- 2:55Speaker 3: on everything.
- 2:56Speaker 1: His wife probably told him not to.
- 2:58Speaker 3: But we had a few likes from different people on
- 3:02Speaker 3: our stories. Anthony Veloz, he's been actually listening to us.
- 3:07Speaker 3: He doesn't really comment on anything, but he's just.
- 3:11Speaker 3: And then Cousin BC. Cousin BC stays liking our stuff and...
- 3:16Speaker 3: reposting it, resharing it, that kind of thing. So, yeah,
- 3:20Speaker 3: shout out to everyone that's still listening. And shout out
- 3:23Speaker 3: to the 100 downloads we had in that 24 hours.
- 3:26Speaker 1: You also heard from P1 Janet over the weekend, the
- 3:29Speaker 1: lady who found us on radio.
- 3:31Speaker 3: Okay.
- 3:31Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, and then she started hearing
- 3:35Speaker 1: the podcast. She commented on our podcast. She was like, hey,
- 3:39Speaker 1: you're doing great work. You sound really good. You're getting
- 3:42Speaker 1: better every week. So, yeah, I'm really... Really thankful for
- 3:47Speaker 1: all you guys that are sticking with us. And, hey, man,
- 3:50Speaker 1: we're putting this out there. We wouldn't be putting this
- 3:53Speaker 1: out there if nobody was listening to us. Yeah, yeah.
- 3:55Speaker 1: Nobody was listening to us. We've got 15 downloads. We
- 3:58Speaker 1: wouldn't be doing this.
- 3:59Speaker 3: That would be a different podcast. So, yeah. I mean,
- 4:05Speaker 3: it's good. It's good. It's been going well.
- 4:07Speaker 1: Yeah. This episode is brought to you by American Auto Masters.

- 4:40Speaker 1: Auto Masters, servicing DFW since 1985.
- 4:45Speaker 3: What's up, G?
- 4:46Speaker 2: I finally got invited to the carne asada.
- 4:49Speaker 1: Whoa, wrong one.
- 4:51Speaker 3: I was like, holy shit, I didn't know we were
- 4:55Speaker 3: doing this.
- 4:58Speaker 1: Yeah, sometimes you hit the wrong button on mistake. That's
- 5:00Speaker 1: why I keep it like this to know which one
- 5:02Speaker 1: it is. But happy, happy football. Dude, the first thing
- 5:09Speaker 1: I thought about was it's the same damn game. But
- 5:14Speaker 1: different results. It's the same game from last week, but
- 5:17Speaker 1: it's different results. Exact same thing.
- 5:21Speaker 3: No, I think it felt different because the offense was struggling.
- 5:28Speaker 3: The offense, the defense was making plays. And the offense
- 5:32Speaker 3: was struggling. And I was like, what is going on?
- 5:34Speaker 3: Did we just switch? Did we just... Now the offense
- 5:36Speaker 3: is going to suck and the defense is going to
- 5:38Speaker 3: be making stops. Although the first touchdown to Nico Collins,
- 5:41Speaker 3: that looked like, like you said, like carving butter. I mean,
- 5:44Speaker 3: that first play, what was it, like 46 yards or
- 5:46Speaker 3: whatever it was?
- 5:47Speaker 1: Dude, he was just.
- 5:47Speaker 3: I was like, what?
- 5:48Speaker 2: Crazy.
- 5:48Speaker 1: What's going on?
- 5:49Speaker 3: Did we just.
- 5:51Speaker 1: And I told you, like, man, they're making Stroud look
- 5:54Speaker 1: like an all-pro.
- 5:55Speaker 3: I'm like, dude, I was at the fair watching this and...
- 5:59Speaker 3: I went to get a beer, and then I was like,
- 6:01Speaker 3: you know, the bartender made a comment about, you know, whatever,
- 6:06Speaker 3: Nico Collins, he was looking like, and I was like,
- 6:08Speaker 3: I thought this is what we got Joey Porter Jr. for,
- 6:10Speaker 3: to cover him. Because he shut him down last night,
- 6:14Speaker 3: and he faced him, no catches at all. But, you know,
- 6:17Speaker 3: in the end, we prevailed, we won that game, and
- 6:20Speaker 3: that was, it felt like a must-win game, at least
- 6:23Speaker 3: for the Cowboys. For the Houston Texans, I don't know
- 6:26Speaker 3: if that was going to change their season, but... We
- 6:28Speaker 3: got it. And hopefully that lifts the morale of the
- 6:32Speaker 3: team after, you know, shitting the bed a couple games. Yeah.
- 6:39Speaker 1: I mean, dude, it was the first thing I thought
- 6:42Speaker 1: about was they score. They stop the Texas. They get
- 6:48Speaker 1: the ball back. And I'm thinking, okay, this is where
- 6:52Speaker 1: you put it away. don't don't let don't give them
- 6:55Speaker 1: the ball back just go drive down and put it
- 6:57Speaker 1: away what do they do three and out with 755
- 7:00Speaker 1: left i'm like goodness you crazy it's like it's the
- 7:04Speaker 1: exact same thing the only difference is this time around
- 7:10Speaker 1: they went and won the game they said we're not
- 7:12Speaker 1: playing for the tie because it was exact same thing
- 7:14Speaker 1: we could have played for the tie But Dak and
- 7:17Speaker 1: CD said, we're not going to lose this game.
- 7:20Speaker 3: Well, wasn't there actually a pretty crucial catch by Ferguson
- 7:24Speaker 3: on the fourth down, too?
- 7:25Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:26Speaker 3: Yeah, that was good.
- 7:26Speaker 1: It was a fourth and three.
- 7:27Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:28Speaker 1: Where it was a third and one. By the way,
- 7:31Speaker 1: they did a Sark play, and I was like, stupid-ass
- 7:34Speaker 1: Sark play. They threw it in the back. They threw
- 7:36Speaker 1: two yards back to get a yard. And I'm like,
- 7:40Speaker 1: and the corner jumped it, stopped CD, and it was 4-3. Yeah,
- 7:44Speaker 1: that was awful.
- 7:45Speaker 3: But, you know, that happened. Man, CD Lamb just decided,
- 7:49Speaker 3: I'm taking over. I'm taking over.
- 7:52Speaker 1: CD Lamb officially, for me, entered best wide receiver in
- 7:58Speaker 1: the NFL territory. I've never thought about him that way.
- 8:01Speaker 1: I've always said I'd take Chase. I'd take Justin Jefferson
- 8:04Speaker 1: over him. Even, you know, after last year, Jack, then Smith,
- 8:07Speaker 1: and then Jigma. Take him. I don't know now. Now
- 8:12Speaker 1: he's in there. He's in that tier.
- 8:13Speaker 3: I think there's a little bit of the Texas bias.
- 8:16Speaker 1: No.
- 8:17Speaker 3: No, no, no.
- 8:18Speaker 1: It's not the Texas Bias. He just never had a
- 8:20Speaker 1: game like this before.
- 8:21Speaker 3: Yeah, I think I've always had CeeDee in the top five.
- 8:23Speaker 3: I don't care who's there. He's in the top five,
- 8:25Speaker 3: but there's tiers. Now he's in the top three.
- 8:28Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 8:28Speaker 3: And he's on that S tier up there.
- 8:30Speaker 1: Because it used to be Cooper Cup, Justin Jefferson, Chase.
- 8:35Speaker 1: Those are the three. And then Cooper Cup went down.
- 8:37Speaker 1: Now Jackson Smith and the Jigba's in there. And the
- 8:40Speaker 1: other tier would always be like... not chris olave aj
- 8:44Speaker 1: brown you know yeah you know puka nakua you know
- 8:49Speaker 1: drake london stuff like people like that you know even
- 8:52Speaker 1: malik neighbors but cd land i always thought cd land
- 8:55Speaker 1: was in the second tier you know.
- 8:57Speaker 3: You never put my neighbors above.
- 8:59Speaker 1: No no no no i'm just saying the tiers you
- 9:01Speaker 1: know there's tiers cd lamb george perkins they're in the
- 9:05Speaker 1: second tier with puka nakua you know people like that
- 9:09Speaker 1: but now i'm like I think he's jumped up, man.
- 9:11Speaker 1: He's entered that conversation now where you think about it now. Like,
- 9:16Speaker 1: would I rather have Justin Jefferson over CeeDee Lamb?
- 9:20Speaker 3: He hasn't had a good season either.
- 9:22Speaker 1: No, he hasn't had him for a long time because
- 9:25Speaker 1: he doesn't have a quarterback.
- 9:28Speaker 3: And George Pickens with that catch, too, on that third
- 9:31Speaker 3: down with this. They were covering his eyes. He still
- 9:35Speaker 3: managed to catch. But we know that about him, though.
- 9:37Speaker 3: We know that about Pickens. He's been kind of quiet
- 9:40Speaker 3: this week. First four games. And I think that's when
- 9:44Speaker 3: CD has been open and has taken over. And hopefully
- 9:49Speaker 3: now teams will see, okay, now who are we going
- 9:52Speaker 3: to cover? Are we going to cover CD or Pickens?
- 9:57Speaker 3: Pick your poison.
- 9:59Speaker 1: And I think going forward, you're going to see that.
- 10:02Speaker 1: People are going to pay more attention to CD. That's
- 10:03Speaker 1: going to unlock George. That's going to unlock Ferguson. I
- 10:07Speaker 1: think this game right here has pretty much got to
- 10:11Speaker 1: defenses that we've got to stop CD Lamb. Let these
- 10:15Speaker 1: other guys try to beat us. Let's make sure CD
- 10:18Speaker 1: is not the one that beats us. Let's make sure
- 10:20Speaker 1: it's either George Pickens, Ferguson. We can live with that.
- 10:23Speaker 1: We can't live with CeeDee Lamb just beating us the
- 10:25Speaker 1: way he beat the Texans.
- 10:27Speaker 3: I'll tell you what, though. Devontae Williams looked great. Three
- 10:32Speaker 3: tutties for him.
- 10:33Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 10:33Speaker 3: That was nice. And I want to give credit to
- 10:37Speaker 3: Tyler Guyton. He has not allowed a sack all season.
- 10:42Speaker 3: And that was one of the biggest questions coming into
- 10:45Speaker 3: the season. Other than Turner Steele, we know what he is.
- 10:48Speaker 3: But Tyler Guyton is like, what are you.
- 10:50Speaker 1: Going to do?
- 10:50Speaker 3: Because you haven't showed it. You're a first-round pick. You
- 10:52Speaker 3: haven't showed that you can play left tackle in this league.
- 10:55Speaker 3: But he came out swinging this season. He hasn't allowed
- 10:58Speaker 3: a sack. He's playing great. He's making the right calls.
- 11:01Speaker 3: He's just being the true left tackle that we expected
- 11:05Speaker 3: him coming out of Oklahoma.
- 11:06Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I didn't expect much from him because
- 11:11Speaker 1: he wasn't that good in Oklahoma. So I thought it
- 11:13Speaker 1: was a reach that we're just taking a tackle to
- 11:15Speaker 1: take a tackle. But, hey, third year.
- 11:17Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:17Speaker 1: He's looked good now. He looks really good. He's made strides. Boy,
- 11:23Speaker 1: that interior offensive line, though, it needs some help, and
- 11:26Speaker 1: hopefully they'll get it. There's talk that Tyler's going to
- 11:29Speaker 1: be activated on Thursday.
- 11:30Speaker 3: I don't know, but you've been saying that you're worried
- 11:35Speaker 3: about the interior linemen that we have, but I feel
- 11:38Speaker 3: like if somebody was going to be the backup, T.J.
- 11:41Speaker 3: Bass is the guy. I think he's done a hell
- 11:44Speaker 3: of a job. Cooper Beebe is playing great. I don't
- 11:46Speaker 3: know if you noticed. I saw something on Instagram. A
- 11:50Speaker 3: guy was talking about Cooper Beebe and the way, especially
- 11:53Speaker 3: in this game, the way that he pops his head
- 11:57Speaker 3: for the snap. It makes a difference.
- 12:02Speaker 1: Yeah. I don't know, man. How many times does Dak
- 12:06Speaker 1: get bull rushed and sacked? By the way, who the
- 12:11Speaker 1: hell put up a scheme where Like, even Greg Olsen
- 12:14Speaker 1: made fun of it. He was like, well, they tried
- 12:16Speaker 1: chipping him. They tried blocking him with two. They just
- 12:18Speaker 1: decided to let Will Anderson run free that time.
- 12:21Speaker 3: When he blocked the.
- 12:23Speaker 1: No, where he just went through quickly. Nobody touched him.
- 12:28Speaker 1: He just ran right past the tight end of the tackle.
- 12:31Speaker 1: And then Dak just had to get rid of it.
- 12:33Speaker 3: But if that... I don't remember the play, but was
- 12:35Speaker 3: that Ferguson on it?
- 12:37Speaker 1: No, Ferguson just left to run a route.
- 12:40Speaker 3: That's what I'm saying. But Ferguson, he's not a good blocker.
- 12:42Speaker 3: That's what.
- 12:43Speaker 1: Ferguson left to run a route, and the tackle didn't
- 12:46Speaker 1: even bother with him. He just ran right past him.
- 12:49Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 12:50Speaker 1: He just ran right past both guys, and nobody accounted
- 12:54Speaker 1: for him. I was like, the one guy you need
- 12:57Speaker 1: to account for, and you didn't account for. What was
- 13:00Speaker 1: that about?
- 13:01Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, I don't know. I still think they've
- 13:05Speaker 3: been holding up well, because I think if it had
- 13:07Speaker 3: been other seasons, and Zach Martin goes down, You know,
- 13:13Speaker 3: a Tyron Smith, that would have been like, oh, my God,
- 13:17Speaker 3: we're done. We're done. But T.J. Bass has held his own,
- 13:20Speaker 3: and I always thought that Cooper Beebe is a really
- 13:22Speaker 3: good center. So, yeah, might have some things. It could
- 13:27Speaker 3: also be due to, you know, Dak not reading it
- 13:30Speaker 3: correctly or whatever it is, but I thought the offensive
- 13:32Speaker 3: line was playing well.
- 13:32Speaker 1: I don't know. Those pretty times were, they sacked him
- 13:34Speaker 1: three times, and those pretty times where he just said, hut,
- 13:37Speaker 1: and he was like, oh, crap. And it broke down
- 13:40Speaker 1: around him, and he had to move, and then they
- 13:42Speaker 1: got to him. And those one where, yeah, it was
- 13:46Speaker 1: everything was covered. The last one, I believe, they showed
- 13:49Speaker 1: everything was covered and there was nothing that could do.
- 13:52Speaker 3: They were struggling offensively in the first half. That looked terrible.
- 13:55Speaker 3: And then, again, Joey Porter Jr., he played 46% of
- 14:01Speaker 3: the snaps. He didn't have targets. Obviously, no catches after that,
- 14:06Speaker 3: no yards given up, no nothing. And I think we
- 14:10Speaker 3: need to start talking. We need to start talking about it.
- 14:12Speaker 3: We've already been talking about it there on the line. So,
- 14:15Speaker 3: I think we need to talk about it more now.
- 14:17Speaker 3: Because he's giving up some plays. So, I don't know
- 14:22Speaker 3: when we're going to talk about that. The offensive line.
- 14:24Speaker 3: The defensive line looked good. You've got Quinn and Williams
- 14:26Speaker 3: getting sacked and stuff. So, it was nice to see.
- 14:29Speaker 3: Rashawn Gary just keeps playing and playing and playing. And
- 14:31Speaker 3: the fact that we don't talk about him enough. Because
- 14:35Speaker 3: people are like, oh, he came here to rush the
- 14:37Speaker 3: passer and all that. It was like, but. They don't
- 14:39Speaker 3: run it towards him. They don't do plays towards him. So,
- 14:43Speaker 3: I don't know. They look good. Linebackers look good. I'm
- 14:48Speaker 3: kind of.
- 14:49Speaker 1: Well, they said there's a lack of pressure. They did
- 14:52Speaker 1: get five quarterback hits yesterday. They did get five quarterback hits,
- 14:55Speaker 1: but they didn't get a sack. I mean, they got
- 14:58Speaker 1: one sack, two sacks.
- 14:59Speaker 3: And that was Quinn and Williams, I think.
- 15:01Speaker 1: One was Quinn and Williams, and the other was Sean Gary. So, yeah,
- 15:05Speaker 1: they need to.
- 15:07Speaker 1: I mean... The lack of pass rush is going to
- 15:11Speaker 1: catch up with them sooner or later when they play
- 15:12Speaker 1: some really good teams. Because as we all said, the
- 15:16Speaker 1: Houston Texans, they're not a really good team.
- 15:19Speaker 3: No.
- 15:20Speaker 1: They're 0-4 now. I mean, they're going to be pretty
- 15:24Speaker 1: soon start selling off if they can. Because the season, man,
- 15:29Speaker 1: it's weird how it's week four and there's some teams
- 15:32Speaker 1: that are already, their seasons are over basically.
- 15:35Speaker 3: How about that hook and ladder by Texas, though? I
- 15:37Speaker 3: was not expecting that.
- 15:38Speaker 1: Oh, my God. That play there, when I saw that,
- 15:41Speaker 1: I was like, oh, man, the Cowboys better go down
- 15:43Speaker 1: to score.
- 15:44Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:45Speaker 1: I'm surprised they didn't try to run more time, but
- 15:48Speaker 1: I do believe that touchdown run, the Cowboys let them score.
- 15:52Speaker 3: Yeah, I thought so, too. I thought so, too. I
- 15:54Speaker 3: was saying that. I was like, let them score. Just
- 15:55Speaker 3: let them score. Get some time. And they made the
- 15:58Speaker 3: mistake of leaving over two minutes on the clock for us.
- 16:00Speaker 3: And I thought whenever they left 40 seconds for it,
- 16:03Speaker 3: for for houston i was like oh it's gonna happen
- 16:05Speaker 3: again it's gonna happen again but they didn't defense defense
- 16:10Speaker 3: played well and.
- 16:11Speaker 1: Look and that's the difference this time around they didn't
- 16:15Speaker 1: play for the tie they played to win the game
- 16:21Speaker 1: that's ben rice That's a lot of Yankee fans in Tampa. Always, dude.
- 16:25Speaker 1: We're watching the Yankee fan because it's a super Yankee
- 16:26Speaker 1: fan here, Kent.
- 16:27Speaker 3: They have their minor league facility there.
- 16:29Speaker 1: Hey, by the way, thanks for recording the podcast during
- 16:32Speaker 1: the Yankee game, Yankee playoff game. I'm pretty sure the
- 16:36Speaker 1: folks really agree.
- 16:37Speaker 3: Well, we had to do it because it's a short week, too.
- 16:39Speaker 1: Short week, Thursday game, yeah.
- 16:41Speaker 3: They have things to do tomorrow. Wednesday, they play again.
- 16:44Speaker 3: So let's fucking do it on Monday.
- 16:46Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:47Speaker 1: Yeah, dude. Thursday. How are you feeling about Thursday?
- 16:53Speaker 3: I think right now we're favored nine and a half.
- 16:58Speaker 3: Isn't that the spread?
- 16:58Speaker 1: Well, yeah, and there's no Baker Mayfield.
- 17:00Speaker 3: Yeah, but I saw they have a mobile quarterback. I
- 17:04Speaker 3: don't even know who it is, to be honest.
- 17:06Speaker 1: Yeah, I saw the Packers struggled with.
- 17:08Speaker 3: And Bucky Irving is out, I think. And Macon Buka,
- 17:13Speaker 3: I think he's out. Or he hasn't been playing well.
- 17:17Speaker 3: So we'll see.
- 17:18Speaker 1: He had one good game. So far this year. Ibuka? Yeah,
- 17:23Speaker 1: because I have him on one of my fantasy teams.
- 17:24Speaker 1: That's how I know that he's had one good game.
- 17:27Speaker 3: Yeah. No, I think we'll go out there and play well.
- 17:32Speaker 1: I think they'll win just because, you know, Buccaneers short week.
- 17:37Speaker 1: They don't have Mayfield. And I think they're pretty much–
- 17:44Speaker 1: by the time Baker gets back, that NFC South is
- 17:47Speaker 1: going to be gone for them.
- 17:47Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah. And, I mean– If Tyler Smith actually plays,
- 17:51Speaker 3: because they designated him to return a couple hours ago, three,
- 17:55Speaker 3: four hours ago. If he plays, yeah, I think it's over.
- 18:00Speaker 3: I mean, yeah. I always worry about Vitavea, though, with
- 18:04Speaker 3: the Bucs. I love Vitavea. He's been one of my
- 18:08Speaker 3: favorite players in the NFL since he came out. And so, yeah,
- 18:13Speaker 3: that's the only one I'm worried about. But I think
- 18:15Speaker 3: we'll win. Are we going to score 30 again?
- 18:17Speaker 1: Maybe.
- 18:21Speaker 3: Maybe this is a George Pickens game. Maybe I was
- 18:23Speaker 3: a game ahead.
- 18:24Speaker 1: Well, that's what I'm telling you. I think they're going
- 18:28Speaker 1: to tell, they're going to be like, okay, C.D. Lamb
- 18:30Speaker 1: did this to the Texans. We can't allow him to
- 18:32Speaker 1: do this. Texans had a chance, and we need to
- 18:35Speaker 1: stop him. And they're going to forget about the other guys.
- 18:37Speaker 1: They're going to be like, okay, well, George Pickens hasn't
- 18:40Speaker 1: been playing well, so let's leave him be. If he
- 18:43Speaker 1: gets one-on-one, George is going to beat somebody.
- 18:45Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 18:46Speaker 1: And also– This has got to be pick your poison.
- 18:49Speaker 3: Yeah, and also, I mean, if you cover those two guys,
- 18:51Speaker 3: I trust Ryan Flanagan enough that he could go off
- 18:54Speaker 3: as well. So, yeah, pick your poison, whoever you want
- 18:57Speaker 3: to take.
- 19:00Speaker 1: Looks like Tyler Goodson is RB2, bro.
- 19:02Speaker 3: Yeah, oh, yeah. I told you this last week.
- 19:04Speaker 1: He looked good.
- 19:05Speaker 3: He was looking so good, and I was like, who's
- 19:07Speaker 3: number 32? What the fuck?
- 19:08Speaker 1: Man, I guess the coaches thought that too, practice maybe,
- 19:11Speaker 1: because did DeMarcardo get even a snap? Yeah.
- 19:15Speaker 3: I don't even know.
- 19:16Speaker 1: Man, I don't remember him getting a carry at all.
- 19:20Speaker 1: Let's see. No, he did not. Javante had 19 carries
- 19:25Speaker 1: for 62 yards. Goodson had three carries for 12 yards. Yeah, so.
- 19:31Speaker 3: But he looks good, though. Tyler Goodson looks good. So, yeah,
- 19:36Speaker 3: I'm good with him being RB2. Yeah.
- 19:39Speaker 1: Yeah, I remember... I think so. I think from what
- 19:44Speaker 1: we've seen just in spurts, Yeah. He looks good. I mean,
- 19:51Speaker 1: three carries for 12 yards. That's a four. And one
- 19:54Speaker 1: of his carries was 10. One was a 10-yard run.
- 19:59Speaker 3: They just went fully Gervonta this time. Yeah.
- 20:02Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, Javante had a good game. I mean, he
- 20:06Speaker 1: got those three touchdowns. The average wasn't good, but, I mean,
- 20:11Speaker 1: he did have some good runs.
- 20:12Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 20:13Speaker 1: He did have some good runs and some spurts. But, yeah,
- 20:16Speaker 1: I think if Tyler Smith is activated, this team's going
- 20:23Speaker 1: to get better. I thought that from week one in
- 20:30Speaker 1: these four games so far, I've thought, They're missing Tyler
- 20:34Speaker 1: Smith a little bit. Oh, yeah. Tyler Smith would make
- 20:38Speaker 1: this O-line very better and run game very better. Pass
- 20:42Speaker 1: protection very good.
- 20:43Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah. I mean, don't get me wrong. But T.J.
- 20:46Speaker 3: Bass has been the guy that's kept it together. He's
- 20:49Speaker 3: held it down enough.
- 20:52Speaker 1: Yeah, he's held it down enough.
- 20:53Speaker 3: And that's why the Cowboys put a second-round center on
- 20:55Speaker 3: him in the offseason because they know how valuable he
- 21:00Speaker 3: is to this offensive line if somebody goes down. Mm-hmm.
- 21:03Speaker 1: Let's talk about Brandon Aubrey real quick. Are you worried
- 21:06Speaker 1: a little bit about Brandon Aubrey?
- 21:07Speaker 3: I thought a little bit.
- 21:09Speaker 1: Or are you worried about the way the Cowboys are
- 21:12Speaker 1: using him, thinking that we can just hit anything?
- 21:14Speaker 3: That needs to stop. That needs to stop. That 62,
- 21:18Speaker 3: that 65-yarder needs to go away just because he can
- 21:21Speaker 3: do it. And I think that puts pressure on him.
- 21:26Speaker 3: Unless it's a game-winning field goal or you have to
- 21:29Speaker 3: score before halftime, That sort of situation right there, I
- 21:34Speaker 3: think you need to stop doing it. Stop doing it.
- 21:36Speaker 3: Just don't do it. And I think that's what... Because
- 21:40Speaker 3: this offense, I think they have the talent to go
- 21:44Speaker 3: and score 35, 40 points each and every week. But
- 21:48Speaker 3: I think them settling down like, oh, we got a
- 21:51Speaker 3: third down. Okay. We have Brandon Aubrey in our back pocket.
- 21:56Speaker 3: It's like, no, just go and score a touchdown. Try
- 21:59Speaker 3: to go move the offense. Or even give him an
- 22:01Speaker 3: easier kick.
- 22:03Speaker 1: That's two blocks, man, in a row. Another block.
- 22:06Speaker 3: And a missed field goal, too. And that was Will Anderson, too.
- 22:09Speaker 3: He just went through. Yeah.
- 22:11Speaker 1: And it wasn't even from the side. It was just
- 22:13Speaker 1: brushed right through the middle, basically.
- 22:15Speaker 3: And I have my little bit of doubt about, like, okay,
- 22:18Speaker 3: he got the money now. He has the highest paid
- 22:22Speaker 3: NFL kicker in NFL history. Is he already like, I
- 22:27Speaker 3: got my money, whatever? Or it's just, I think the
- 22:30Speaker 3: pressure's getting to him.
- 22:34Speaker 1: Yeah, I also think it's just the way they're using him,
- 22:37Speaker 1: the way they think that, oh, 55? Well, we can
- 22:41Speaker 1: make that now. And they're counting too much on that.
- 22:45Speaker 1: I don't know if his average is going to be good, man,
- 22:47Speaker 1: if they keep doing this. Because how many 62-yarders can
- 22:51Speaker 1: you hit in a season?
- 22:54Speaker 3: And that's why I said they need to quit it.
- 22:55Speaker 3: They need to. Just because you have him and you know.
- 22:58Speaker 1: Especially anything over 50. Yeah. They're just saying, okay, go
- 23:02Speaker 1: try it.
- 23:02Speaker 3: Just because they know he can do it, like, stop it.
- 23:05Speaker 3: Just stop it. Just go and play your game. Let
- 23:07Speaker 3: Dak do his thing.
- 23:08Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 23:09Speaker 3: Because now, and you know how you talked about CD,
- 23:12Speaker 3: I think now Dak has... I think he was before,
- 23:16Speaker 3: but now I think it's more clear that he is that....
- 23:20Speaker 1: Bro.
- 23:21Speaker 3: He's an elite quarterback. I don't care what anybody says.
- 23:25Speaker 1: Dak had another piss missile in that game.
- 23:27Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 23:28Speaker 1: That throw that he had in the two-minute drill that
- 23:32Speaker 1: was right over the cornerback, right to CD. The safety
- 23:35Speaker 1: was over the top, and he threaded that needle right there.
- 23:40Speaker 1: I jumped up and said, holy crap, what a throw.
- 23:43Speaker 1: That was a beautiful throw.
- 23:44Speaker 3: Maybe they just need to change their game plan to
- 23:45Speaker 3: do two-minute drills. He was like, yeah, two-minute drill. Treat
- 23:49Speaker 3: it like a two-minute drill. Dude, this is what you
- 23:50Speaker 3: need to do. Because they're great. They're great in two-minute drills.
- 23:55Speaker 3: And Dak is. So, you know, again, and shout-out to
- 24:00Speaker 3: CeeDee Lamb again. He passed Drew Pearson. Where do you
- 24:04Speaker 3: think he'll end up? He's, like, top. I think he's
- 24:06Speaker 3: number four right now in receiving yards for the Cowboys
- 24:11Speaker 3: all time. Jason Witten is first with, like, 12,000-something. So,
- 24:19Speaker 3: what do you think he'll end up? Do you think
- 24:20Speaker 3: he'll pass Jason Whitten by the end of his career?
- 24:25Speaker 1: Maybe.
- 24:26Speaker 3: I mean, this is six years. This is six years.
- 24:29Speaker 1: This is six years. That was a 17-yard, 17-catch game.
- 24:33Speaker 3: 189 yards.
- 24:34Speaker 1: He can have, like, a bunch of 10-catch games, man.
- 24:38Speaker 1: I don't know. Yeah, he probably can. But, yeah, it
- 24:43Speaker 1: was a second. It was a second and 10 on
- 24:45Speaker 1: the Dallas 39 and Dak hit a 15-yard pass. That
- 24:49Speaker 1: was beautiful, dude, with one 12th left. And I was like, wow.
- 24:52Speaker 1: I jumped up. I was like, wow, that was a
- 24:54Speaker 1: great throw. He just put it right where he needed to.
- 24:58Speaker 3: But that's Dak. And people don't give him the credit
- 25:00Speaker 3: he deserves. People love to hit on Dak.
- 25:04Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, they love to hit on Dak. When we
- 25:11Speaker 1: get to the NFL, like, yeah. So what's your prediction
- 25:15Speaker 1: for Dak? this uh this coming up game with the.
- 25:19Speaker 3: Bucks i'm gonna go this i think i think with
- 25:22Speaker 3: this offense what it is i believe are they averaging
- 25:28Speaker 3: 30 points a game.
- 25:31Speaker 1: You scored 20 in um with the giants yeah so
- 25:38Speaker 1: i think you are because there's 34 31 it uh
- 25:40Speaker 1: what they have against with um They had 37 against Washington.
- 25:47Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 25:48Speaker 1: So, yeah, you're averaging 30.
- 25:49Speaker 3: Give me the Cowboys 35-14.
- 25:52Speaker 1: I'm going to say 31-17. I think Bucs will have
- 25:58Speaker 1: a bunch of garbage time touchdowns and stuff because, yeah,
- 26:02Speaker 1: I think the Bucs right now are just in a
- 26:04Speaker 1: world to hurt without Baker Mayfield. You said Bucky Irvin's
- 26:09Speaker 1: hurt as well. Yeah, that's– It's a really tough spot
- 26:14Speaker 1: for them, especially on a short week. As soon as
- 26:18Speaker 1: I saw that Mayfield's down, I thought they were an
- 26:22Speaker 1: average team with Mayfield. Yeah. Which they were last year.
- 26:26Speaker 1: I think they're worse without him. Yeah. You know, because
- 26:28Speaker 1: they just don't have a quarterback.
- 26:31Speaker 3: I think somehow we'll be playing halfway to the fourth.
- 26:36Speaker 3: All right.
- 26:38Speaker 1: Wow, really? Yeah.
- 26:40Speaker 3: Mm-hmm.
- 26:42Speaker 1: Because Jelon Daniels, the quarterback who played for them, who's
- 26:47Speaker 1: starting for them right now, he had two picks, and
- 26:52Speaker 1: he was sacked three times against the Packers.
- 26:56Speaker 3: I saw one, though, where he gets away. Like, he's
- 26:58Speaker 3: a runner. Like, you cannot give him that thing because
- 27:01Speaker 3: he'll just take off. And I think the Cowboys have
- 27:04Speaker 3: trouble with quarterbacks that can run. But, no, I think
- 27:08Speaker 3: they'll take care of him. I think they'll be comfortable
- 27:10Speaker 3: because you cannot– I was going to say, well, the
- 27:12Speaker 3: Cowboys maybe, you know, short week or whatever, but so
- 27:14Speaker 3: is Tampa. So they're actually pretty, both of them are pretty,
- 27:18Speaker 3: they're in the same boat. Yeah, Cowboys 35-14.
- 27:23Speaker 1: Let's get to around the NFL week four. Boy, my
- 27:29Speaker 1: AFC West pick looks terrible. The Chargers are 0-4. And
- 27:37Speaker 1: the Chiefs outlasted the Raiders, dude.
- 27:39Speaker 3: Yeah, they did.
- 27:42Speaker 1: So let's get to the Chargers real quick because they're 0-4,
- 27:45Speaker 1: and I saw today they sent you something that Khalil
- 27:49Speaker 1: Mack might be available for trade. He's on an expiring contract.
- 27:57Speaker 1: I don't think you've got to give a first for him.
- 27:58Speaker 3: No, I wouldn't. Even if they were thinking about it, no,
- 28:02Speaker 3: there's no way. No.
- 28:03Speaker 1: But that could be an answer because, look, the Chiefs
- 28:06Speaker 1: barely beat the Raiders. Last is the Raiders. I think
- 28:10Speaker 1: the Raiders might be good. I think they're going to
- 28:12Speaker 1: win some games. I think Max Crosby is going to stay.
- 28:14Speaker 1: I don't see them dealing Max Crosby anymore.
- 28:17Speaker 3: Well, I texted you. Maybe Max is not the option here,
- 28:21Speaker 3: but if we're already making deals with the Steelers, why
- 28:26Speaker 3: don't we go try to get TJ? Man, I don't
- 28:30Speaker 3: know if they'll... He was supposed to be ours, but
- 28:33Speaker 3: then they picked Taco Charlton.
- 28:35Speaker 1: I mean, they're 2-2. They're in the same boat as ours.
- 28:38Speaker 1: They have to fall flat.
- 28:39Speaker 3: But they're having trouble in the locker room. I mean,
- 28:42Speaker 3: you heard what Aaron Rodgers called the fucking play. And
- 28:46Speaker 3: then Mike McCarthy was a fucking asshole.
- 28:48Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. Boy, I think these guys need to realize
- 28:51Speaker 1: there's cameras all over the place. People can now read lips.
- 28:55Speaker 3: I mean, we know what Aaron Rodgers is. He's that
- 28:58Speaker 3: type of guy. So, I'm like, yeah. So, I mean,
- 29:01Speaker 3: if I'm Jerry.
- 29:03Speaker 3: Hey, how about you got more of them trades? And see, hey,
- 29:08Speaker 3: what do you want for TJ? I'll give up the first.
- 29:11Speaker 3: I'll give up the first next year for TJ. I
- 29:13Speaker 3: don't know what his contract situation is right now, but yeah,
- 29:16Speaker 3: if it's TJ or Max, yeah, I'll give, I'll take,
- 29:21Speaker 3: I'll take the, I'll give up the first round.
- 29:23Speaker 1: I think if it's, yeah, I think those are the
- 29:25Speaker 1: only two you would. I just don't see TJ Watt
- 29:29Speaker 1: being available. And I don't see Max Crosby being available
- 29:32Speaker 1: anymore if Raiders keep winning, man. That game there, I
- 29:36Speaker 1: was like, wow. The Chiefs barely won.
- 29:39Speaker 3: But they're struggling with receivers right now.
- 29:41Speaker 1: Yeah, they might need a receiver. They're probably going to.
- 29:44Speaker 3: Do we put Pickens on the board?
- 29:48Speaker 1: At the very beginning of the year, everybody said if...
- 29:51Speaker 1: Nobody expected them to be this good. And everybody said
- 29:53Speaker 1: if they are one of the top teams... They're probably
- 29:57Speaker 1: going to be in the Jeremiah Smith conversation. Well, now
- 30:01Speaker 1: it doesn't seem like that. It seems like they're going
- 30:03Speaker 1: to win games because Brock Bowers is the guy.
- 30:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 30:06Speaker 1: Brock Bowers. But if you put a competent receiver next
- 30:10Speaker 1: to Brock Bowers, that might help you.
- 30:14Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 30:14Speaker 1: So it all depends on who's available.
- 30:18Speaker 3: Well, still to this, you know, there's nothing more dangerous
- 30:20Speaker 3: than an old man with money. And hopefully he's right.
- 30:25Speaker 1: So you're... You were talking earlier about people hating on Dak.
- 30:29Speaker 1: And I thought to myself, man, when I saw something today,
- 30:37Speaker 1: Jalen Daniels did not get any... He did not get
- 30:44Speaker 1: at all any criticism for only having 93 yards.
- 30:50Speaker 3: And I think... I think he only had, what, like
- 30:54Speaker 3: 10 yards or... 15 yards in the second half?
- 30:58Speaker 1: Dude, he was awful. He was terrible.
- 31:03Speaker 3: Did you see... I forgot the show where McCoy is.
- 31:07Speaker 1: Speakeasy. Yeah, with Acho and Kieran. Yeah, Kieran is a...
- 31:13Speaker 1: He's a... I want to say he's a streamer. But
- 31:18Speaker 1: he's a big Longhorn guy. He does a lot of
- 31:22Speaker 1: stuff for Longhorn's community.
- 31:25Speaker 3: Yeah, he went off on a rant.
- 31:26Speaker 1: Yeah, he went off because he was right. And they
- 31:29Speaker 1: were just sitting there like.
- 31:32Speaker 1: They're over here talking about Sirianni. They're talking about all
- 31:36Speaker 1: these other guys. And he's like, you never bring... He
- 31:39Speaker 1: was awful.
- 31:40Speaker 3: Why can't we talk about Jalen Hurst not playing well?
- 31:44Speaker 3: Why is it not talked about?
- 31:46Speaker 1: Because they're former Eagles.
- 31:47Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean... Whatever.
- 31:50Speaker 1: But yeah, he was an awful dude. Just awful. Awful.
- 31:54Speaker 1: I mean, and I was thinking, like, man, like, why
- 31:58Speaker 1: can't they say that? He's awful. Yeah. The fans know
- 32:00Speaker 1: he's awful. The fans know that he's playing terrible.
- 32:04Speaker 3: Yeah, but they don't want to do that.
- 32:06Speaker 1: 1227, 93 yards. He did have two touchdowns, but one
- 32:08Speaker 1: of the touchdowns should have been a pick. The receiver, Cooper,
- 32:12Speaker 1: took it away from the DB. I don't know if
- 32:14Speaker 1: you saw that one.
- 32:16Speaker 3: That was a good little, what, 10-minute span where Cowboys
- 32:19Speaker 3: win and then they switch to the Eagles game and
- 32:23Speaker 3: then they lose. And they came back too, the Rams did.
- 32:25Speaker 3: What was it, 17 points? Was it a 17-point comeback
- 32:30Speaker 3: by the Rams?
- 32:31Speaker 1: Yeah, I believe so. Yeah, let me see. I'm pretty
- 32:36Speaker 1: sure that's what it was. But yeah, it was an
- 32:42Speaker 1: incredible game by them. It's just the fact that you're
- 32:47Speaker 1: not getting any criticism whatsoever for Jaden Daniels.
- 32:53Speaker 3: Jalen Hurts.
- 32:54Speaker 1: Jalen Hurts, my bad. Jalen Hurts is that... Yeah, they
- 32:58Speaker 1: were up 20-10 at halftime. And the Rams scored 14
- 33:02Speaker 1: in the.
- 33:02Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 33:04Speaker 1: So, yeah, they didn't score anything in the second half.
- 33:06Speaker 3: And the Giants right now, they're riding high. Leading the
- 33:10Speaker 3: NFC is 3-1.
- 33:11Speaker 1: Yeah, that game, that opening game is going to haunt
- 33:14Speaker 1: the Cowboys. They got to win the next game with
- 33:16Speaker 1: the Giants. I don't think the Giants are going to
- 33:17Speaker 1: keep winning. They're playing.
- 33:19Speaker 3: Oh, they're coming here.
- 33:19Speaker 1: They're playing trash teams.
- 33:21Speaker 3: Yeah, but they're coming here.
- 33:21Speaker 1: Let's be honest.
- 33:22Speaker 3: They would be at home with that game.
- 33:25Speaker 1: I mean, they beat the Titans. They beat the Cardinals.
- 33:29Speaker 1: It's just they're beating really bad teams.
- 33:34Speaker 3: Man, one of them was us.
- 33:35Speaker 1: One of them was us. That game, man.
- 33:36Speaker 3: At that time and the first.
- 33:38Speaker 1: Yeah, that's why that game to me is like, oh,
- 33:41Speaker 1: I can't believe you lost that game. That was the game. See,
- 33:44Speaker 1: I had the Cowboys after four weeks, three and one.
- 33:47Speaker 1: They're two and two. I expected them to lose a
- 33:49Speaker 1: real game. That's the only game I had them losing.
- 33:52Speaker 1: But to lose that opening game, yeah, I was like, oh,
- 33:56Speaker 1: my God, that's bad.
- 33:57Speaker 3: Yeah, 3-1, and it could have been 4-0. Because that
- 34:03Speaker 3: game against the Ravens, it was a good game. It
- 34:05Speaker 3: came down to the very last kick. But I think
- 34:13Speaker 3: if they go... So we got.
- 34:20Speaker 3: We got Bucs. And then let's see. Who else we got?
- 34:30Speaker 3: We got the Bucs.
- 34:37Speaker 1: By the way, did you.
- 34:38Speaker 3: Bucs, Packers, Eagles, Cardinals.
- 34:41Speaker 1: Yeah, the Green Bay games after the Bucs, which we'll
- 34:44Speaker 1: have some time to heal up for.
- 34:47Speaker 3: If we go 3-1 in those games, I think we'll
- 34:49Speaker 3: be fine. Mm-hmm. Well, it's very winnable now.
- 34:52Speaker 1: Yeah, the schedule's coming up. It's very winnable the way
- 34:54Speaker 1: these teams are playing. The way so far through four weeks,
- 34:57Speaker 1: it's very winnable those next few weeks.
- 35:00Speaker 3: And the Packers ain't good either.
- 35:03Speaker 1: See, Washington lost Mariota, and they're saying Jaden Daniels might
- 35:07Speaker 1: be active this week.
- 35:10Speaker 3: Already?
- 35:11Speaker 1: Yeah, I saw that earlier today. Washington believes Jaden Daniels
- 35:15Speaker 1: might play. That he might play this week. They have
- 35:20Speaker 1: the Giants in Washington. And so I'm like, they lost
- 35:26Speaker 1: Mariotta in the London game, and Jonathan Taylor ran all
- 35:31Speaker 1: over them. But, yeah, I was like, after two weeks,
- 35:37Speaker 1: is Jane Daniels going to be ready?
- 35:38Speaker 3: That's crazy to hear. I mean, it was a dislocated shoulder, right?
- 35:42Speaker 3: There was no ligament damage.
- 35:43Speaker 1: Dislocated elbow.
- 35:44Speaker 3: Elbow, that's what I mean. Yeah. No ligament damage or
- 35:48Speaker 3: any of that. I mean, I don't see why not.
- 35:53Speaker 3: I don't see why not he wouldn't be coming back.
- 35:55Speaker 3: Because it wasn't even his throwing arm either, right? It
- 35:57Speaker 3: was his left.
- 36:00Speaker 1: Wasn't it his right? I thought it was his right.
- 36:02Speaker 3: I thought whenever he... Because the first thing that happened,
- 36:05Speaker 3: somebody stepped on his ankle. And that's what he went
- 36:07Speaker 3: down to reach for the ground. And that's when the
- 36:10Speaker 3: shit popped off. But I thought it was his left.
- 36:14Speaker 1: Yeah, Commander's Coach said... Monday that he expects Jayden Daniels
- 36:19Speaker 1: back in the lineup for a must-win home game on Sunday.
- 36:23Speaker 1: He said the goal is to have a full week
- 36:25Speaker 1: of practice, a full week to start on Sunday.
- 36:28Speaker 3: So what are they sitting at right now, 2-2?
- 36:29Speaker 1: 1-3. 1-3.
- 36:29Speaker 3: So we won the command.
- 36:32Speaker 1: Yeah, you're right, left elbow. It was his left elbow, yeah.
- 36:35Speaker 3: So we won the commanders to win this one.
- 36:39Speaker 1: I would hope so, yeah, because we need to. Get
- 36:42Speaker 1: that game up.
- 36:43Speaker 3: So then if the Cowboys win, then they'll be 3-2,
- 36:46Speaker 3: and the Giants will also be 3-2, although as of
- 36:49Speaker 3: right now, they will probably be ahead of us because
- 36:52Speaker 3: of the victory. Yeah, that's it.
- 36:54Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 36:55Speaker 3: But we also beat the Commanders, so that kind of
- 36:58Speaker 3: equals it. I don't know. We'll see. It'll be a
- 37:00Speaker 3: good one.
- 37:03Speaker 1: Other games around the NFL. The Patriots win big, man.
- 37:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 37:07Speaker 1: That was a big win at Buffalo. That was. If
- 37:11Speaker 1: Buffalo wins that game, Buffalo probably cruises to the NFC
- 37:14Speaker 1: East title. And now the Patriots got that game on them.
- 37:18Speaker 3: Three TDs for.
- 37:20Speaker 1: Drake May.
- 37:20Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 37:21Speaker 1: Yeah. It seems like he plays well against Buffalo.
- 37:26Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 37:27Speaker 1: That was a huge win.
- 37:28Speaker 3: Oh, man. Just for the Bills, man. I don't feel
- 37:31Speaker 3: like they always lose this type of game. When they
- 37:35Speaker 3: have somebody good, they just... But watch.
- 37:37Speaker 1: Watch when they go to New England. The Bills will
- 37:40Speaker 1: win that game. And it'll be flip-flop.
- 37:42Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 37:43Speaker 1: Yeah. That's crazy. 49ers, 4-0.
- 37:48Speaker 3: With all the injuries they have. Mm-hmm. That's crazy. You
- 37:51Speaker 3: see Greenlaw, he was just talking shit to Sean Payton.
- 37:55Speaker 3: He just kept yelling at him and that kind of thing.
- 37:58Speaker 3: Because obviously he was with the Broncos before. Mm-hmm. So
- 38:01Speaker 3: that was crazy to see. Now people are talking about
- 38:06Speaker 3: Brock Purdy, MVP. Yeah. Mr. Irrelevant.
- 38:14Speaker 1: So we got three undefeated teams. 49ers, Vikings, and Chiefs. Chiefs, yeah.
- 38:21Speaker 3: The Vikings, that's crazy. That's crazy that the Vikings are undefeated.
- 38:26Speaker 1: Yeah, the Vikings are just playing really, really good. Well,
- 38:30Speaker 1: they're playing okay. They're not playing really, really good. They
- 38:32Speaker 1: did not have Justin Jefferson. I mean, they're playing all right,
- 38:39Speaker 1: I would say.
- 38:40Speaker 3: Yeah, Aaron Jones has been kind of playing well. But
- 38:44Speaker 3: Carson Wentz, he's the bus driver, you know?
- 38:46Speaker 1: Oh, actually, it was Kyler Murray yesterday.
- 38:48Speaker 3: Oh, was he? He's already back, I thought.
- 38:50Speaker 1: Yeah, Kyler Murray was playing for them yesterday.
- 38:53Speaker 3: But he held it down, though. I mean, didn't Kyler
- 38:55Speaker 3: Murray got hurt in the first game?
- 38:58Speaker 1: I mean, the Vikings haven't really... I mean, they've been...
- 39:01Speaker 1: I mean, it's 39-22 against the Packers, and that was...
- 39:08Speaker 1: That was Carson Wentz doing it. 9-3 against the Vikings.
- 39:12Speaker 1: 23-16 against the Bucs. I believe that was Carson Wentz
- 39:17Speaker 1: as well.
- 39:19Speaker 3: Are you just surprising me?
- 39:19Speaker 1: No, that was Kyler Murray as well.
- 39:21Speaker 3: Oh, and they beat the Dolphins, obviously. Yeah.
- 39:24Speaker 1: And they beat the Dolphins 15-10. That's what I'm saying.
- 39:26Speaker 1: They're owning it down. I don't know how good they are,
- 39:28Speaker 1: but right now they're making... do of what they have. Yeah,
- 39:31Speaker 1: they're 4-0.
- 39:33Speaker 3: I'll take 4-0. But the only thing with that is
- 39:37Speaker 3: we saw it last year with the Colts, and they
- 39:38Speaker 3: went 7-0 or 8-0, and then they just fell down
- 39:41Speaker 3: after Daniel Jones got hurt. So I don't know if
- 39:44Speaker 3: it's just all smoke and mirrors for them right now,
- 39:47Speaker 3: I feel like they're going to get brought down to
- 39:49Speaker 3: earth pretty soon. I mean, well, actually, if, you know,
- 39:52Speaker 3: when they get Justin Jefferson and Kyler Murray be on
- 39:55Speaker 3: the same page, we'll see, man.
- 39:59Speaker 1: I don't know what to make of this, uh, AF,
- 40:01Speaker 1: the NFC South, because I thought it was Tampa's division.
- 40:09Speaker 1: And man, maybe it might be Carolina that what's going
- 40:12Speaker 1: on right now with, uh, the 24 to seven.
- 40:15Speaker 3: Wow.
- 40:17Speaker 1: The Falcons are just whooping up on the Saints. So
- 40:19Speaker 1: right now it looks like it's Falcons and Panthers. And
- 40:22Speaker 1: Panthers already beat Atlanta in Atlanta.
- 40:26Speaker 3: Is B. John Robinson going to be offensive player of
- 40:29Speaker 3: the year?
- 40:29Speaker 1: He might.
- 40:31Speaker 3: Did he already pass DeAndre Swift for the best running
- 40:34Speaker 3: back in the league?
- 40:36Speaker 1: You mean Gibbs?
- 40:39Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, Jameer Gibbs.
- 40:39Speaker 1: I'm sorry. Jameer Gibbs, yeah.
- 40:40Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 40:42Speaker 1: I think Jameer Gibbs, especially this year. Jameer Gibbs has
- 40:46Speaker 1: been okay. He hasn't been spectacular. But, yeah, Bijan is just.
- 40:50Speaker 3: Base is loaded.
- 40:52Speaker 1: I mean, they're at the two-minute warning. And he has
- 41:01Speaker 1: 12 carries for 103 yards, two touchdowns already.
- 41:04Speaker 3: Dude, that's insane.
- 41:05Speaker 1: And he has a reception for five yards.
- 41:07Speaker 3: And he hasn't had a bad game so far. Jameer
- 41:10Speaker 3: Gibbs yesterday was okay. He wasn't what Jameer Gibbs is.
- 41:15Speaker 1: I mean, what did he do that week, week two,
- 41:18Speaker 1: when they lost 34-3? I think the Panthers bottled him up.
- 41:23Speaker 1: Let's see. He did.
- 41:24Speaker 3: Because for fantasy purposes, he was, Jameer James was the
- 41:28Speaker 3: number one running back.
- 41:29Speaker 1: He was 16-72, but they got blown out. So, yeah.
- 41:35Speaker 3: He's that team's whole offense. Yeah. I'm not saying, Drake
- 41:38Speaker 3: London is a great receiver. That's why he got paid.
- 41:43Speaker 3: But yeah, right now, it's Bijan, and that's it.
- 41:46Speaker 1: Yeah, they're 24-7, man.
- 41:49Speaker 3: Who's playing for them? Pennix right now?
- 41:51Speaker 1: Yeah, Pennix. Pennix started last week, and that's where you
- 41:56Speaker 1: got the game with Bijan rushing for 190. And the
- 42:02Speaker 1: first game in NFL history where a running back rushed
- 42:05Speaker 1: for 190 and a receiver caught 190. Drake Linden. Yeah.
- 42:10Speaker 1: That was the first time ever in history. Think about that. Well,
- 42:15Speaker 1: the NFL has been going on for years. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 42:17Speaker 1: You know?
- 42:18Speaker 3: They just need a quarterback. I mean, yes, I know
- 42:20Speaker 3: Phoenix is playing well, whatever, but they need a quarterback.
- 42:25Speaker 1: Yeah. They really need a quarterback. Who do you got?
- 42:31Speaker 1: So as of four weeks, who do you think are
- 42:34Speaker 1: the contenders and who do you think are the pretenders?
- 42:38Speaker 1: I think Vikings are a pretender.
- 42:39Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, that's what I'm saying. Yeah.
- 42:41Speaker 1: I think the Vikings are a big pretender.
- 42:44Speaker 3: Oh my God. Right at the wall for the grand slam.
- 42:49Speaker 1: Almost my boys all up from this.
- 42:54Speaker 3: Uh, yeah. Uh, pretenders, the Vikings, uh, let's see who
- 43:00Speaker 3: else is, what do.
- 43:01Speaker 1: You think of the Browns, man? What do you think
- 43:04Speaker 1: of their three in one?
- 43:04Speaker 3: I don't know where to put them yet. I don't
- 43:07Speaker 3: know where to put them yet. I don't know where
- 43:09Speaker 3: to put them yet. Uh, I think the Jaguars are contenders,
- 43:13Speaker 3: I think. I think they'll win that division. And this
- 43:20Speaker 3: is just me.
- 43:20Speaker 1: Well, the Jaguars took care of the Browns. Yeah. And
- 43:23Speaker 1: then the Browns have beat the Buccaneers. They beat the Panthers, though.
- 43:28Speaker 1: And they beat the Steelers. That's the game we're talking
- 43:30Speaker 1: about with Aaron Rodgers.
- 43:33Speaker 3: And this is me wishful thinking that the Raiders are pretenders.
- 43:37Speaker 3: Just for Max Crosby purposes. And maybe, hopefully, they shut
- 43:42Speaker 3: it down and say, we need a receiver, so this
- 43:44Speaker 3: is what we're going to do. They have their quarterbacks.
- 43:46Speaker 3: They have their running backs.
- 43:47Speaker 1: Well, we'll see. They play the Patriots. Then they play
- 43:50Speaker 1: the Bills. Then they play the Rams. So that could
- 43:54Speaker 1: be easily three losses.
- 43:55Speaker 3: Yeah, they could be four and three.
- 43:56Speaker 1: Now, if they win some of those games, you're going
- 43:58Speaker 1: to be like, oh, crap.
- 43:59Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah. They'll be, what? If they lose those three games.
- 44:04Speaker 1: They'll be three and four. So of the next five games...
- 44:07Speaker 1: They're probably going to be favored in one game, and
- 44:10Speaker 1: that's against the Jets. Because in the next five, they
- 44:13Speaker 1: got Patriots, Bills, Rams, then the Jets, and then the 49ers.
- 44:16Speaker 3: Nah, they'll probably go two and four on that one.
- 44:21Speaker 3: Winning against the Jets both times, maybe.
- 44:24Speaker 1: Well, they wouldn't.
- 44:24Speaker 3: No, who are you talking about?
- 44:25Speaker 1: No, no, no. There's five games, and only one of
- 44:27Speaker 1: them is the Jets. So they might go one and four.
- 44:29Speaker 1: They might go one.
- 44:30Speaker 3: And four, and that puts them at 500.
- 44:31Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
- 44:33Speaker 3: Or, no, they put him game under. 500. Game under.
- 44:35Speaker 1: 500, yes.
- 44:36Speaker 3: And that's when around the trade deadline. So they might say,
- 44:40Speaker 3: you know what, let's shut it down. Let's go get
- 44:42Speaker 3: our receiver. Because that's what they need.
- 44:45Speaker 1: Yeah, it doesn't get any better there because after the 49ers,
- 44:48Speaker 1: they have the Seahawks. Then they have the Broncos. So, yeah,
- 44:54Speaker 1: the Raiders might be smoke and mirrors.
- 44:56Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what it says.
- 44:58Speaker 1: But, yeah.
- 44:59Speaker 3: I think the Saints are pretenders as well. Oh, of course.
- 45:02Speaker 1: I didn't think the Saints were. I think Tyler Shull
- 45:05Speaker 1: is good. I think he's better than I thought he
- 45:07Speaker 1: was going to be. But, yeah, this game right now
- 45:11Speaker 1: with the Falcons is not looking good for him.
- 45:13Speaker 3: But Tyler Shull, he's like, what, 45 years old now?
- 45:16Speaker 1: No, he's a rookie, bro.
- 45:18Speaker 3: Yeah, 27. That's what I'm saying. The joke passed you.
- 45:23Speaker 1: Yeah, but I was like, 27. No, I remember, who
- 45:27Speaker 1: was it? Who was our backup that the The Browns
- 45:32Speaker 1: took from Oklahoma State. He was 30 at the time.
- 45:35Speaker 3: Osweiler.
- 45:36Speaker 1: No, it wasn't Osweiler. It was the guy from Oklahoma State. Oh,
- 45:39Speaker 1: Brandon Whedon.
- 45:39Speaker 3: Brandon Whedon. Yeah.
- 45:40Speaker 1: And I remember Chris Winky way back when, the Panthers.
- 45:46Speaker 1: He was a Florida State quarterback, and the Panthers took
- 45:48Speaker 1: him with the second-round pick. That guy was 29. He
- 45:52Speaker 1: was old, dude.
- 45:53Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 45:55Speaker 1: Let's get into some college football talk now. Some of
- 45:59Speaker 1: the local teams did not play.
- 46:01Speaker 3: I forgot to change my screensaver.
- 46:06Speaker 1: Yeah, I got my daughter wearing a longhorn shirt putting
- 46:10Speaker 1: up the hookup sign. I haven't changed it yet. I
- 46:14Speaker 1: might change it for this week. This week is just so...
- 46:18Speaker 1: It's not really looking like, oh man, I got to...
- 46:23Speaker 1: I just think this week is....
- 46:26Speaker 3: It's just one of those weeks.
- 46:28Speaker 1: It's... I think this is a national title game for Oklahoma.
- 46:32Speaker 1: This is a playoff game. They've got to win this game.
- 46:36Speaker 3: Dude, somebody put John Mateer as John Mid-Tier.
- 46:46Speaker 1: John Mid-Tier. So let's get to some of the games
- 46:47Speaker 1: this week, past week. Alabama. So everybody crowned Florida and
- 46:54Speaker 1: Mississippi State, saying that these two teams... are some of
- 46:59Speaker 1: the top teams in the SEC. And they're legit contenders. Well,
- 47:04Speaker 1: they both got rolled this weekend.
- 47:07Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 47:08Speaker 1: As Alabama took it to Mississippi State.
- 47:11Speaker 3: They did.
- 47:13Speaker 1: The score was in the 50s of what Alabama hung
- 47:16Speaker 1: on them, I believe.
- 47:18Speaker 3: Yeah, I didn't really watch a lot of.
- 47:20Speaker 1: It was 56-23. And then Missouri beat Florida 45-17. And
- 47:23Speaker 1: the funny part was After Florida beat Ole Miss, their
- 47:31Speaker 1: fans were in the concourse chanting, we want Texas.
- 47:35Speaker 3: And I showed you that. I told you that.
- 47:38Speaker 1: And I think they forgot there was a game coming
- 47:40Speaker 1: up with a 25th ranked Missouri and Missouri took it
- 47:43Speaker 1: to them. At Missouri. Just, yeah. There was one game
- 47:50Speaker 1: that was closer than I thought and I was like,
- 47:52Speaker 1: oh my God, I can't believe. Notre Dame barely escaped
- 47:55Speaker 1: North Carolina. At halftime, that game was so close. Yeah.
- 47:59Speaker 3: And they're not number two right now? Or is that Georgia? No,
- 48:04Speaker 3: I think it's... I think it's Georgia still. Georgia and
- 48:08Speaker 3: Notre Dame is three.
- 48:10Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 48:11Speaker 3: Yeah, I didn't really watch that. I think the only
- 48:13Speaker 3: one I watched was the Missouri.
- 48:17Speaker 1: Florida game?
- 48:17Speaker 3: The Florida game because my niece's boyfriend goes to Mizzou,
- 48:23Speaker 3: so I kind of was cheering for that. Who else.
- 48:30Speaker 3: I didn't watch Ohio State.
- 48:33Speaker 1: Saw Texas Tech win, but they had a little bit
- 48:35Speaker 1: of trouble against Colorado.
- 48:37Speaker 3: Well, they didn't start winning until the fourth quarter. They
- 48:39Speaker 3: were actually playing like Texas Tech should be playing against Colorado.
- 48:43Speaker 1: I think that game, as I was telling a buddy
- 48:45Speaker 1: of mine who's a Texas Tech alum, I think that
- 48:49Speaker 1: game pretty much told you all you need to know
- 48:51Speaker 1: about Texas Tech is that they're an average team.
- 48:54Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 48:55Speaker 1: Because... Colorado played Northwestern and got blown out 41-7. Northwestern, 41-7.
- 49:05Speaker 1: And then Northwestern played Indiana really hard. Indiana barely beat Northwestern.
- 49:10Speaker 1: They didn't even cover the spread. I believe Northwestern was
- 49:14Speaker 1: a three-touchdown underdog, and I believe Indiana won by eight
- 49:18Speaker 1: or 10, something like that.
- 49:19Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 49:20Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 49:20Speaker 3: So yeah, I was watching that because I was watching
- 49:24Speaker 3: the Yankees, but I was also kind of keeping up
- 49:26Speaker 3: with the Colorado Texas tech game. Obviously hate watching.
- 49:30Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 49:33Speaker 3: Hey, watching Texas tech. Hopefully I thought they were going
- 49:35Speaker 3: to lose at some point, but.
- 49:36Speaker 1: Then Yeah, Indiana won 29-23 against Northwestern. So Northwestern hung
- 49:42Speaker 1: up 41 points on Colorado and only gave up seven. Now,
- 49:47Speaker 1: Tech's defense, yeah, Tech's defense is okay. But that offense
- 49:51Speaker 1: is not.
- 49:51Speaker 3: Yeah, I think Will Hammond is not that guy.
- 49:54Speaker 1: No, there's a reason they wanted Brendan Sorsby so bad
- 49:57Speaker 1: and they wanted to fight for Brendan Sorsby. There's a
- 49:59Speaker 1: reason for that. Because they knew what they had.
- 50:02Speaker 3: Whatever happened to that Miami quarterback?
- 50:05Speaker 1: Oh, the Florida State quarterback you mean? So... He was allowed.
- 50:09Speaker 1: He's the backup, right? But the other day, right before
- 50:13Speaker 1: the game, Texas Tech told him, hey, man, we got
- 50:18Speaker 1: to take you off the roster because his injunction got revoked.
- 50:23Speaker 1: They got overturned. So he's not eligible. So they're trying
- 50:26Speaker 1: to figure out what to do then.
- 50:30Speaker 3: Damn. Well, I don't know. I still I just still
- 50:37Speaker 3: think that that's the state of the Big 12 too.
- 50:39Speaker 3: I mean, this is the Big 12.
- 50:41Speaker 1: Yeah, because it said Texas Tech backup quarterback Thomas Castellanos
- 50:45Speaker 1: will not play against Colorado per Texas Tech spokesman. He'd
- 50:49Speaker 1: been playing on a temporary restraining order in Kentucky that
- 50:52Speaker 1: was overruled today. Castellanos and the school are now evaluating
- 50:56Speaker 1: options for the rest of the season. I don't know
- 50:58Speaker 1: what they're evaluating. If he's not eligible, he's not eligible.
- 51:01Speaker 1: Simple as that. So yeah, he's not an option for
- 51:04Speaker 1: them now. It's Will Hammond.
- 51:07Speaker 3: And talking about this week, I mean, at least for us,
- 51:11Speaker 3: it's that Red River rivalry. But later, Georgia, Alabama.
- 51:18Speaker 1: That's going to be the game. Pretty sure that's the
- 51:21Speaker 1: game that College Game Day is going to be at.
- 51:24Speaker 3: Oh, speaking of it, did you see that they got
- 51:26Speaker 3: rid of McAfee? Not McAfee.
- 51:30Speaker 1: The Barstool guys. Yeah. And the Fox, the big names. Yeah. Yeah,
- 51:35Speaker 1: you knew that was coming. The problem with Dave Portnoy
- 51:38Speaker 1: is he's too Michigan.
- 51:41Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 51:41Speaker 1: And he wants everybody to know it. They don't just
- 51:44Speaker 1: go to Michigan, dude. They go to Indiana. They go
- 51:48Speaker 1: to Ohio State. They go to these other places.
- 51:52Speaker 3: Apparently, I thought Michigan had something to do with it.
- 51:56Speaker 3: That's what he thinks.
- 51:58Speaker 1: He's claiming Ryan Day, the Ohio State. That Ohio State
- 52:01Speaker 1: bitched too much and that Fox acquiesced. He said that
- 52:04Speaker 1: the juice wasn't worth the squeeze.
- 52:06Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 52:07Speaker 1: So all the barstool guys aren't there anymore. But, yeah,
- 52:10Speaker 1: I just think that you're too over the top in
- 52:12Speaker 1: your allegiance. And I read an article where they said, well,
- 52:19Speaker 1: he was supposed to be their Pat McAfee. The problem
- 52:21Speaker 1: is Pat McAfee is being neutral. Yeah. He's making picks,
- 52:30Speaker 1: but he's not overheard. oh we're michigan we're this and
- 52:33Speaker 1: that we're the greatest of all time like that's the
- 52:35Speaker 1: problem is with him is that i mean i saw
- 52:40Speaker 1: on his show they have that wake-up show on fox
- 52:43Speaker 1: and he was telling the the mississippi state guy be
- 52:47Speaker 1: worried that i'm gonna take your quarterback next year because
- 52:50Speaker 1: i'll do it i'll pay the money for it i'm
- 52:52Speaker 1: like seriously bro like I get that works for your Barstool,
- 52:57Speaker 1: but this is Fox. It's different.
- 53:00Speaker 3: You've got to show that neutrality. I don't care who
- 53:01Speaker 3: you feel you're dealing with.
- 53:02Speaker 1: There's a reason why Kirk Herbstreit never picks the game
- 53:05Speaker 1: he's going to call. It's just not allowed. It's just
- 53:09Speaker 1: what it is what it is. You've got to be neutral.
- 53:11Speaker 3: Which is Ohio State, right?
- 53:12Speaker 1: Yeah, he's from Ohio State. He will pick Ohio State
- 53:18Speaker 1: games if he's not calling it, but he's not picking...
- 53:21Speaker 1: A game that he's calling. He didn't pick the Texas-Ohio
- 53:23Speaker 1: State game because he was calling it. So, yeah. I mean, so, yeah.
- 53:29Speaker 1: I think for them, they made the decision. And I
- 53:33Speaker 1: don't think it's going to hurt Big Noon at all. No.
- 53:36Speaker 1: I think it's a blip for them.
- 53:39Speaker 3: Any potential upsets this week? Kentucky over LSU maybe?
- 53:44Speaker 1: Man.
- 53:46Speaker 3: Also, you got UCLA against Oregon. They're both ranked.
- 53:49Speaker 1: Mm-hmm. Yeah, there are a few games that I'm interested
- 53:53Speaker 1: in this week besides Alabama. The Alabama-Georgia game. I'm very
- 54:01Speaker 1: interested to see what happens to Texas A & M
- 54:04Speaker 1: in Missouri. That's what I was going to look at.
- 54:08Speaker 1: I'm very interested to see that. I'm also interested in
- 54:13Speaker 1: what Oklahoma State does against UCF because I'm very interested
- 54:18Speaker 1: in Oklahoma State. I think Oklahoma State And Texas Tech
- 54:22Speaker 1: and BYU, they're headed for a collision course. Those three.
- 54:24Speaker 1: One of those three is going to win the Big
- 54:25Speaker 1: 12 and get the playoff.
- 54:27Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 54:29Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 54:29Speaker 3: But other than that, who else? I don't see any
- 54:34Speaker 3: other upsets that I would say. Maybe South Carolina beats Florida.
- 54:39Speaker 1: It's at Florida. I think Florida will bounce back.
- 54:42Speaker 3: It's at the Swamp.
- 54:42Speaker 1: Yeah, I think they'll bounce back. UCLA or Oregon.
- 54:47Speaker 3: Yeah, it's going to be a good one.
- 54:50Speaker 1: I haven't seen UCLA, but they're 4-0. I don't know
- 54:54Speaker 1: who they've beat. Let's see. They have beat California, San
- 54:59Speaker 1: Diego State, Purdue, and Maryland. Oh, they've hung up some
- 55:04Speaker 1: points on Purdue and Maryland. They weren't in the 50s.
- 55:07Speaker 1: So maybe that will be a game. I mean, who
- 55:11Speaker 1: is it? Rayola or is it Moore starting?
- 55:14Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 55:15Speaker 1: Well, they're projecting Dante Moore.
- 55:21Speaker 3: Okay.
- 55:21Speaker 1: Yeah. They are projecting Docte Moore to play that game,
- 55:25Speaker 1: so maybe. I mean, Braille did look good against USC.
- 55:31Speaker 1: Against USC, so yeah, we'll see. But yeah, the Red
- 55:37Speaker 1: River rivalry, man. So this is the first time I'm
- 55:40Speaker 1: not going to Red River rivalry in six years. Yeah,
- 55:47Speaker 1: I'm three and two, so.
- 55:51Speaker 1: I was really hoping to go, but I've got a
- 55:54Speaker 1: family wedding to go to. And it sucks for my
- 55:58Speaker 1: brother because my brother's birthday is in October, and normally
- 56:02Speaker 1: that's his birthday gift. I take him to the Texas
- 56:06Speaker 1: OU game. And so I'll see you. I'm not going
- 56:10Speaker 1: to be there first time in a while. Watch it.
- 56:13Speaker 1: But I just don't see us losing. Yeah. I don't
- 56:17Speaker 1: see us losing. I think I know there's some Texas
- 56:21Speaker 1: people who are like, doom and gloom. It might be
- 56:23Speaker 1: a trap game. It ain't a trap game. They want
- 56:27Speaker 1: to put... They want to stomp them. They want to
- 56:30Speaker 1: put it down. And they want to keep being the
- 56:32Speaker 1: number one team in the nation.
- 56:34Speaker 3: Was it Joe Clyde that was saying that you still
- 56:37Speaker 3: haven't seen that offensive game from Texas?
- 56:42Speaker 1: And that's correct, but there's been multiple reasons. Like I said,
- 56:49Speaker 1: I think Tennessee blitzed the hell out of Arch. And
- 56:53Speaker 1: that was it. I mean, Ohio State, we had so
- 56:56Speaker 1: many things go wrong in the first half. People were
- 57:00Speaker 1: just dropping. I mean, Coleman dropped a pass. Wingo dropped
- 57:03Speaker 1: a touchdown. I think if Coleman doesn't fall, I think
- 57:07Speaker 1: that's a runaway touchdown. There's different things here.
- 57:13Speaker 3: The only one was against Texas State, but it's Texas State.
- 57:16Speaker 1: Yeah, it was just a hungover game. They won by
- 57:18Speaker 1: 30 still. They put 30 points up. I mean, I
- 57:23Speaker 1: don't know if you can say, just because they didn't
- 57:25Speaker 1: cover and put up 50 like they were supposed to, but,
- 57:29Speaker 1: you know, they won. I wasn't worried about that game. Tennessee,
- 57:34Speaker 1: they won as well. I thought Tennessee did all, the
- 57:37Speaker 1: defense did all they could to stop Arch. And in
- 57:41Speaker 1: the end, they couldn't. And I think Tennessee, of course,
- 57:44Speaker 1: got away with some stuff to make it closer than
- 57:49Speaker 1: what it should have been. And, you know, the refs
- 57:52Speaker 1: have come out and said, yeah, they missed some calls
- 57:55Speaker 1: in that game. Yeah. But, yeah, I just don't think
- 57:58Speaker 1: Oklahoma has any chance of beating us, man, the way
- 58:02Speaker 1: they've been playing. I think defensively they need– I think
- 58:05Speaker 1: they would need a couple turnovers turned into touchdowns. I
- 58:09Speaker 1: think they would need, like, a couple pick six or
- 58:11Speaker 1: a fumble return. I think they need a special teams play.
- 58:15Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 58:15Speaker 1: I just don't see straight up they beating us. I
- 58:18Speaker 1: just don't see it. And– I think Mateer's going to
- 58:25Speaker 1: throw two picks in this game, just like he did
- 58:26Speaker 1: in last year's game. Yeah, he's going to throw two picks.
- 58:30Speaker 1: I mean, he had that horrible pick last year where
- 58:34Speaker 1: at the half, if they keep it, they kick a
- 58:37Speaker 1: field goal.
- 58:38Speaker 3: Yeah, I remember that.
- 58:38Speaker 1: And he threw it right into it, right to the
- 58:42Speaker 1: safety in the end zone, which was crazy.
- 58:46Speaker 3: And that was the Riot Nibbler game, too.
- 58:48Speaker 1: The Riot Nibbler game where he had that big punt
- 58:50Speaker 1: return that changed it all the game. Yeah, I just
- 58:53Speaker 1: don't see it, man. I've thought about it. I would
- 59:00Speaker 1: be shocked if Oklahoma wins this game.
- 59:01Speaker 3: No, I get it. I think Texas wins this one big.
- 59:04Speaker 3: I'm going to say they went big, too. I think
- 59:07Speaker 3: they went big.
- 59:08Speaker 1: I haven't felt this confident since... about this game since
- 59:15Speaker 1: the 05 game with the championship run with Vince Young.
- 59:21Speaker 1: Everybody knew that Texas was going to win, and Texas
- 59:23Speaker 1: did go in there and win. I think that's the
- 59:25Speaker 1: only time I've ever felt this confident. So, yeah, I
- 59:31Speaker 1: just don't see it where I'm, like, even worried about it.
- 59:33Speaker 1: I haven't been worried about it since the Michigan game,
- 59:36Speaker 1: since Oklahoma lost the Michigan game, since the Georgia game
- 59:40Speaker 1: even more, and even the New Mexico State game right
- 59:43Speaker 1: after the Michigan game.
- 59:44Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 59:45Speaker 1: To beat New Mexico State 14-6 after you just got
- 59:51Speaker 1: beat by Michigan and you look bad, I think that
- 59:55Speaker 1: tells me all I need to know about it. Yeah,
- 59:58Speaker 1: he's going to be back.
- 59:59Speaker 3: I felt like we needed him against Tennessee.
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: Yeah, I think everybody's on deck to go. I don't
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: think there's any big injuries that we need to worry about.
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: I think Smothers is back.
- 1:00:16Speaker 3: Does Colin Simmons piss on somebody else?
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: He might shit on somebody. Who wears a hat from
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: the very beginning? Who's the first one to wear a
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: golden hat?
- 1:00:27Speaker 3: I'm going to go with Colin Simmons. I think he
- 1:00:30Speaker 3: has another monster game. I'm not saying he's going for
- 1:00:32Speaker 3: five sacks, but I think he gets.
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: That's what I've heard from Oklahoma people, that they're so
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: worried about Colin Simmons and that defensive line because their
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: tackle's an O-liner. They're not good. They're not very good.
- 1:00:50Speaker 3: Well, Conu, he's a monster in the middle. He's got
- 1:00:54Speaker 3: the big belly out and everything. He gets there. So, yeah.
- 1:00:58Speaker 3: And I think linebackers are pretty good. Yeah. I think
- 1:01:03Speaker 3: they win big. And hopefully they do win big so
- 1:01:05Speaker 3: that way they can just be like... You know, because
- 1:01:08Speaker 3: people are like, well, shouldn't Georgia be number one right
- 1:01:10Speaker 3: now even though they... Or Alabama should be up there somewhere.
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: I think Alabama might be number one. Depends how the
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: Alabama game goes. I think the winner of Alabama... They've
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: got a good shot of being at number one or
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: top two now.
- 1:01:26Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: Georgia's two, so I think if they win, they might
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: jump us.
- 1:01:29Speaker 3: They're going to lose that. Whoever, yeah, if Georgia loses,
- 1:01:31Speaker 3: they're going to lose at number two, obviously.
- 1:01:33Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:01:34Speaker 3: So that's what I'm saying. They need to go and
- 1:01:35Speaker 3: win big. Speaking of the Longhorns, they need to go
- 1:01:38Speaker 3: out there and win big. Just convincing is just, oh,
- 1:01:42Speaker 3: my goodness. Yeah.
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: With that, we get to the MLB playoffs, man. Full
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: up and running divisional round. And your Yankees down 3-1
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: right now.
- 1:02:03Speaker 3: They're not playing defense right now, dude. Watch this. Perfect throw.
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: No, not offline. He had it, though. I think he
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: was more worried about his foot being on the bag. Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: He was worried about keeping the foot on the bag.
- 1:02:21Speaker 3: I mean, that's the first baseman. You're supposed to make
- 1:02:23Speaker 3: those catches.
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:02:25Speaker 3: You can't blame it on 31-year-olds.
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: They had three errors in the first inning?
- 1:02:29Speaker 3: Yeah, three errors. They've played some stupid defense in the
- 1:02:33Speaker 3: inning prior to, or this inning, actually, because they scored two.
- 1:02:37Speaker 3: They got to Cam Schlittler. Not necessarily got to. I
- 1:02:42Speaker 3: think it was the defense that let him down. Because
- 1:02:44Speaker 3: I saw a play with Spencer Jones. He was caught
- 1:02:47Speaker 3: in between. You know, like, there's the fly ball where
- 1:02:50Speaker 3: you come in between, you're like, should I dive? Should
- 1:02:52Speaker 3: I not dive? I think it's been defensive on this
- 1:02:55Speaker 3: right now.
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: Defensive mistakes, yeah. Yeah. So Cam only went four innings?
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: Four innings.
- 1:03:02Speaker 3: Yeah. Well, yeah, four and a third.
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: Four and a third.
- 1:03:06Speaker 3: Like about 80 pitches, 85 pitches. But yeah, but the
- 1:03:11Speaker 3: White Sox won the first game.
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: They lost today. No, they won today, too.
- 1:03:15Speaker 3: They did?
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: They're 2-0.
- 1:03:16Speaker 3: I thought.
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: Yeah, they are 2-0 headed to Chicago. They're 4-3. They won.
- 1:03:23Speaker 3: I told you last episode that they have the Pope's blessing.
- 1:03:26Speaker 3: That's unfair.
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: That's what you're basing this on?
- 1:03:29Speaker 3: Yeah, this is unfair. MLB needs to step in and say, nah,
- 1:03:33Speaker 3: you can't have this guy rooting for this team.
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: Yeah, they were trailing early and they came back and won.
- 1:03:40Speaker 3: Yeah, so they were down 2-0.
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: Yeah, they won 4-3. And they're headed to the White
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: Sox to Chicago. Home games. They just need one more. Yeah.
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: I think they're going to get it either in game
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: three or four.
- 1:03:53Speaker 3: And the Brewers are up 2-0 as well.
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: So let's talk about that first game with the Brewers
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: because it looked like the Brewers were about to lose. Twice. Yeah.
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: Who was it? I can't remember. Was it Adam? It
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: wasn't Adam Lowe. Who was it? Who hit the home
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: run that hit the catwalk? and was caught, and everybody
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: was like, oh, my God, I can't believe. It was
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: a huge controversy, and to the point where I don't understand.
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: Ty France. It was Ty France. That's what it was.
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: He hits a ball. It hits the roof of Milwaukee Stadium.
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: And then it falls straight down, and the right fielder
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: catches it.
- 1:04:45Speaker 3: It's an out.
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: He says, hey, it hit. That should be a home run.
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: I remember all the times when the Rangers played the
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: Tampa Bay Rays back in 2010 and 2011. They told you.
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: They told them, hey, this is the deal with the roof.
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: This is what counts. If it hits this catwalk or
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: if it hits this catwalk.
- 1:05:09Speaker 3: They just did that earlier in this game.
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly. So that's what I'm saying. How did they
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: not do that there? because it seems like they didn't
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: know the.
- 1:05:17Speaker 3: Rules yeah i don't know man i just i didn't
- 1:05:21Speaker 3: i haven't watched those late games because or the early
- 1:05:24Speaker 3: games because they're just working but it was over the
- 1:05:27Speaker 3: weekend so i don't have an excuse anyway yeah i
- 1:05:32Speaker 3: think they should they should i think this oh man
- 1:05:34Speaker 3: like i hate this stadium the the trop is one
- 1:05:38Speaker 3: of the worst stadiums in the league probably the worst stadium.
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: In well that's why they're trying to get a new.
- 1:05:42Speaker 3: One well they are 2029 you know they're all going
- 1:05:45Speaker 3: to have time at least next year to start building
- 1:05:48Speaker 3: it without any interruptions uh but yeah and they beat
- 1:05:52Speaker 3: mason miller twice.
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: So according to stack cast ty francis ball would have
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: been an out it would have been a fly ball
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: fly fly out he just hit it too high they
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: would have came down and but they're like oh it's
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: a home run it's a home run because i know
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: there's something there's a The Astros have, ooh, 5-1, man.
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: So the Astros, I remember the Astros have something where
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: if it hits a certain, they have different railings, and
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: if it hits this railing, it's a home run or
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: something like that. They have, like, different levels of railing.
- 1:06:24Speaker 3: Does Love Life have that?
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: I don't think so. I've never heard of it. I've
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: never heard of anybody hitting that roof either. So that's
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: probably why.
- 1:06:35Speaker 3: Braves beat the Dodgers yesterday, which is nice.
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: Man, Tariq Scruble is unfair. Yeah. That's unfair, man. Scooble
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: is unfair. I mean, I saw that game one. I
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: was like, okay. I'm surprised. Hey, they took a 1-1
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: split that you always win. You're playing on the road.
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: That's what you want. 1-1. You want to win one
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: of those games. Make sure that you have one of
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: those games going to your home. I mean, Scooble wouldn't
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: go back to game five. So I guess that's a
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: big thing.
- 1:07:08Speaker 3: And that kind of sucks for him, too, because... the
- 1:07:11Speaker 3: lockout coming.
- 1:07:12Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:07:13Speaker 3: Sucks for him.
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: It sucks for him.
- 1:07:15Speaker 3: He would have gotten 500 million. I think.
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: Yeah. The business of baseball is going to, it's going
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: to take him out for a bit. Maybe you should
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: have signed that deal. Whatever the Tigers gave him.
- 1:07:26Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: Maybe.
- 1:07:28Speaker 3: Yeah. Uh, but for, I guess now, I mean, unless,
- 1:07:33Speaker 3: unless the Padres do something to come back at home,
- 1:07:36Speaker 3: they'll win the next two. Then obviously you got the,
- 1:07:39Speaker 3: You got game five in Milwaukee, but after the first
- 1:07:42Speaker 3: two games, you know that you can hang with them
- 1:07:43Speaker 3: and you can stay there because they– wasn't both walk-offs–
- 1:07:48Speaker 3: both of the wins were walk-offs by Milwaukee?
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: No, they were– they hung on on the first game, 3-2. Okay. Yeah,
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: the first– the second game was the walk-off where they
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: got Mason Miller and apparently Mason Miller says he's tipping–
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: he might be tipping his pitches. He doesn't know because–
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: It is unbelievable that the guy knew a fastball was
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: coming in. Bam, just he squared it up and hit
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: it right up the middle.
- 1:08:14Speaker 3: Yeah, and then with Chicago, I mean, it might be over.
- 1:08:19Speaker 3: There's no way they lose two in a row.
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: No, I don't think so. I think they're going back
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: to White Sox and winning. They know they got to
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: win one. Just win one and don't go back to Cleveland.
- 1:08:30Speaker 3: Yeah, because you don't have to come out on game
- 1:08:31Speaker 3: three at home. I don't think there's any pressure for them. Okay,
- 1:08:37Speaker 3: we're going to play our game. We're going to keep
- 1:08:38Speaker 3: doing what we're doing. If we lose the first game,
- 1:08:40Speaker 3: that's fine. But we get to come back on the
- 1:08:42Speaker 3: second game here at home with the Pope's blessing.
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: With the Pope's blessing.
- 1:08:47Speaker 3: And might win it.
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: Well, he'll be there.
- 1:08:49Speaker 3: I think that series is over.
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: Yeah, I do too. I think White Sox are waiting
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: for the winner of this series with Tampa and the Yanks. Braves...
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: beginning to game five, I guess?
- 1:09:04Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: Win one in Atlanta? I know you want to win both,
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: but against the Dodgers, it's kind of hard.
- 1:09:10Speaker 3: Yeah, I think for them, they've got to hope that
- 1:09:14Speaker 3: they're 2-2 heading to L.A. for game five. Which is
- 1:09:18Speaker 3: going to be tough, but you've got a chance.
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: Who are their starters? Who's going up for the Braves?
- 1:09:24Speaker 3: I know it's Chris Sale, for sure. Then I don't
- 1:09:27Speaker 3: know after that. Let's see.
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: It is... We got Chris Sale and Yamamoto. That's tough.
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: That's tomorrow? Yeah. They're predicting the Braves right now. Braves
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: are the favorite, yeah. ESPN has them at 53% to
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: win the game. So, we'll see about that. And game
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: four for the Dodgers Braves is they haven't announced yet. Oh,
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: I guess. I guess they're not announcing.
- 1:10:06Speaker 2: Yep.
- 1:10:07Speaker 3: And then on this series right now.
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: They're keeping it close to the vest, both teams, about
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: who's in game four.
- 1:10:14Speaker 3: And this series right now with Tampa and New York,
- 1:10:17Speaker 3: I'd I mean, they might go home and win back-to-back
- 1:10:21Speaker 3: games and then come back to the trop for game five.
- 1:10:27Speaker 3: We'll see. I think if the Yankees end up losing
- 1:10:30Speaker 3: this one, I think it's over.
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: You think so?
- 1:10:32Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, I mean, the thing is, even though we
- 1:10:36Speaker 3: lost game one.
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: So you don't think they can win two in New
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: York and bring it back to Tampa?
- 1:10:40Speaker 3: No, I think they can. Okay. But I think they'll
- 1:10:41Speaker 3: lose in Tampa.
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: In Tampa?
- 1:10:44Speaker 3: Because you're probably going to throw Cam Schiller there again.
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: Who pitched game one?
- 1:10:49Speaker 3: Cole. Okay. So he made one mistake, gave the home
- 1:10:53Speaker 3: run to.
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: Max Fried pitches tomorrow?
- 1:10:56Speaker 3: No, Rodon. Not tomorrow. Wednesday. Yeah, Wednesday. Rodon.
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: Then Fried.
- 1:11:01Speaker 3: No, Fried and then Rodon. Okay.
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: So we got Fried going game three.
- 1:11:06Speaker 3: So I'm assuming they're saving both Cam Schlittler and Gary
- 1:11:08Speaker 3: Cole for game five. It gets to that because you
- 1:11:12Speaker 3: either have... It doesn't matter who starts because then you have...
- 1:11:16Speaker 3: You know you have one of the guys to come
- 1:11:18Speaker 3: out of the pen. Would it be Camp Sliller or
- 1:11:21Speaker 3: Garrett Cole? But on Saturday, I mean, Garrett Cole only
- 1:11:23Speaker 3: made one mistake to Jonathan Aranda and hit it at
- 1:11:27Speaker 3: the ballpark. And then Wells made that mistake. And, you know,
- 1:11:33Speaker 3: he was going to three and he shouldn't have. But
- 1:11:37Speaker 3: he were now 5-1. I think this game's over. I
- 1:11:41Speaker 3: don't think we come back. But, yeah, I think... I
- 1:11:47Speaker 3: think if we go game five, which I think they will,
- 1:11:52Speaker 3: I think Tampa Bay is going to win.
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, hopefully you're in a good mood next week
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: when we record.
- 1:11:57Speaker 3: Yeah, we'll see. Brings it ahead.
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: Feeds it for Rantanen.
- 1:12:02Speaker 3: Mikko Rantanen twists it.
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: Turns it back in. He scores. My goodness. Mikko Rantanen
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: straight to the highlight reel for the rest of the season.
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: It is Stars hockey time. The more that 84-game season,
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: I guess the Stars didn't know about it because they
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: treated those first two games like preseason. They didn't play
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: much in the preseason. I'll give them that. But, yeah,
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: today they finally woke up. They're winning 4-0 right now.
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: Goals by Miro Kiviranta, Jamie Benn, and Robo.
- 1:12:42Speaker 3: Yeah, this started bad on Friday when I saw they
- 1:12:44Speaker 3: lost 4-0.
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: Well, you know, the goals were very fluky goals. The
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: first goal was like a ping pong ball. The puck
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: went all over the place, and then it got to
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: the place where Jake could not get to, and the
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: Blues player was there and tipped it in. The second one,
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: Rupe Hintz tripped Jake out. he tripped him and Jake
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: fell backwards and the puck just went behind him and
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: the guy stuffed it in and it was two, nothing.
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: And then the last two goals, I don't want to
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: count because there were empty net goals. The stars are
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: just trying to get something going. But yeah, the, uh,
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: on Saturday, the game with the predators, it was just
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: hard fought. They were trying to do whatever they can.
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: They just could not break through.
- 1:13:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: It looks like they finally broke through tonight. So I'm, yeah,
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: I'm not too worried about it. Uh, I think the
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: response today, and if they would have lost today, you
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: probably would have been like, okay, something's probably not right here.
- 1:13:43Speaker 3: Well, as you said, I think they just said 84 games.
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: Well, there was only four preseason games, and they didn't
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: play very much the preseason. Jake didn't play one preseason game.
- 1:13:54Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: I don't believe Mikko played a preseason game. A lot
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: of them didn't play preseason games.
- 1:14:03Speaker 3: I just think, and not only for the NHL, but
- 1:14:05Speaker 3: I think in every sport, I understand this is your start.
- 1:14:09Speaker 3: These are your money-making guys. These are the guys that
- 1:14:11Speaker 3: you pay and superstars and all that, but you got
- 1:14:16Speaker 3: to give them some game action. You could practice all
- 1:14:22Speaker 3: you want and do all this, and with the Cowboys,
- 1:14:25Speaker 3: you could practice... have the joint practices, this and this,
- 1:14:31Speaker 3: or this and that, but you need game action. You
- 1:14:34Speaker 3: need these guys to have some game action so they
- 1:14:37Speaker 3: can get used to the speed of the game, the
- 1:14:41Speaker 3: hits and all that. So, yeah, I never understood why.
- 1:14:44Speaker 3: I mean, I do understand why, but I don't think
- 1:14:48Speaker 3: it should be that. I think these guys need to
- 1:14:50Speaker 3: play in the preseason. You need to give them some action,
- 1:14:53Speaker 3: get used to being hit.
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I totally agree with that. In any sport. Yeah,
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: that's what I'm saying. Somebody needs to ramp up. That's
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: why when these players, even in baseball, don't do spring training,
- 1:15:05Speaker 1: they're not hitting as much. They're like one at bat. Okay,
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: take me out. Put somebody else in. I don't like
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: that at all. Yeah, I'm looking at their preseason. And
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: in the second game.
- 1:15:19Speaker 3: They went 4-0.
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: Yeah, but a lot of them didn't really play much.
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: So I'm looking at the first game. There was like
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: two players that Hururu played. In the second game, I
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: see Hintz played. I see Richkovian played. Wyatt Johnson played.
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: Mikko did play. Their time on the ice was... Mikko
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: played 19 minutes, so he did play some. And Robertson,
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: I don't see Jamie Benn on there. So from... The
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: normal guys who normally play, Nils Lundqvist, Thomas Harley played,
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: Robo played, Randen played, Wyatt played, Ritskovian, and Rupe Hintz.
- 1:16:07Speaker 3: That was it.
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: No Jamie Benn, no Dushane, no Tyler Sagan. So that
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: was the second one. The one with the wild where
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: they had all those fights, let's see. Jamie Benn did play.
- 1:16:20Speaker 3: Yeah, because he was in one of those.
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: Foxa played. Kiviranta played. No Randon, no Sagan, no Robo,
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: no Wyatt Johnson. Defenseman, Heiskanen played, Bischoff played, Tyler Myers played,
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: Esa Lindell played, but Thomas Hartley didn't play because he
- 1:16:39Speaker 1: played the game before. So yeah, there was... And then
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: the second wild game, the last preseason game, I'm looking
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: at it. You had Jamie Benn, Foxa, Hance, Raskovian, Wyatt Johnson.
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: So they did play I don't know if they played– well,
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: the last game they did treat it like a dress rehearsal.
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: Everybody played. But the first three games, I mean, I
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: think one game is just not enough for preseason.
- 1:17:09Speaker 3: Yeah, especially in a contact sport like this.
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: Get up to speed, yeah. And that was the whole
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: point of it. We're like, well, we're going to cut
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: back preseason, add two more games. Well, man, if you
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: look at it, a lot of teams did not look
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: good in those first two games. I mean, Florida and Carolina,
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: the two big teams in the East, they were not
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: even in the East. They went to overtime, 0-0. Yeah.
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: That's how bad it was. The Oilers have not looked good.
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: I've seen some scores have been really high. I think
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: the Oilers won a game where they won like 8-6
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: or something like that. Yeah. the coach told the media,
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: what are y'all worried about? We won eight to six.
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: I mean, it's early.
- 1:17:57Speaker 3: He's not, he's not wrong.
- 1:17:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: They just scored again. So it's five, nothing.
- 1:18:02Speaker 3: And that's the beginning of the third right now.
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: No, there's three minutes left in the third.
- 1:18:05Speaker 3: Now. Okay.
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: Miko got his first goal.
- 1:18:10Speaker 3: So Miro has two, one, Jamie, Ben, give you.
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: Ranta and Robo.
- 1:18:15Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: So those are the six goals so far. I'm not
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: too worried about it. I, I think, uh, Especially with
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: this explosion today. I think they're back where they want
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: to be. And I don't see any of them being
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: a power play goal. I think they're all a five-on-five. Yeah,
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: none are power play goals. It's all five-on-five.
- 1:18:33Speaker 3: Which was one of the big issues last season, the five-on-five.
- 1:18:36Speaker 3: Because they were great in the power play.
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: They're 0-3 in the power play today, but they did
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: get five goals five-on-five. So I think that's pretty good.
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: I'm not too worried about it.
- 1:18:47Speaker 3: Because like I said, last season they were one of
- 1:18:49Speaker 3: the worst teams in five on five, right? So, yeah,
- 1:18:52Speaker 3: it's good to see.
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: Well, I think everybody's healthy. I think, I mean, DeShane's
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: the only one missing. He'll be, I think, late October.
- 1:19:01Speaker 3: And we got another Finnish mafia with Kiviranta.
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: Kiviranta back, yeah.
- 1:19:06Speaker 3: So, yeah.
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:19:08Speaker 3: They'll be all right.
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: They'll be all right i think so well i mean
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: hopefully this offense explosion woke them up and it'll lead
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: to the next game i'm really hoping for that next
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: game so this week uh coming up they got the
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: sabers they go to buffalo on thursday and then they
- 1:19:31Speaker 1: go to play sid the kid and the pittsburgh penguins
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: and six by the way did you see that uh
- 1:19:37Speaker 1: ovechkin announced on his social media this is it this
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: is gonna be his last season finally everybody thought it
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: was gonna be last year but he said no this
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: year oh yeah hey dude he's old he's been around
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: for a long time.
- 1:19:51Speaker 3: You look at him oh.
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: Yeah he's yeah he's got more white hair i know
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: his whole head is silver yeah yeah yeah he's uh
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: He's been around, man. I'm trying to think. What was
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: his draft? They were both around the same time. I
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: want to say he was 04 and Crosby was 03
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: draft because they're about the same. Those two guys were
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: considered the LeBron and the Carmelo back then when they
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: were both drafted. These are the LeBron and Carmelo that
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: are going to be going at it. Everybody thought that
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: draft that LeBron and Carmelo are going to be going
- 1:20:29Speaker 1: at it for years.
- 1:20:30Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: And that never came to pass. Yeah, Carmelo was just never,
- 1:20:35Speaker 1: never good enough.
- 1:20:35Speaker 3: Carmelo was never that guy.
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: Yeah, but these guys, they've had battles. I mean, Ovechkin
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: has one Stanley Cup, Sid has three, and I'm wondering
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: when Sid's going to go, because there's been a lot
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: of talk that people have been wanting, the NHL wants
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: to see Sid in Colorado with Nate McKinnon, play with
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: his buddy Nate McKinnon. Okay. There's been a lot of
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: talk about that, but I don't think Sid wants to
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: leave Pittsburgh. I think he just wants to stay there
- 1:21:03Speaker 1: his whole career. But there's been outside forces trying to
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: get him to, hey, man, accept the trade. Accept the trade.
- 1:21:10Speaker 3: Go play with your buddy.
- 1:21:11Speaker 1: Go play with your buddy. Go try to win another cup.
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: But I think he's the type that I want to
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: stay with one franchise. I don't want to be the
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: type that plays with four franchises.
- 1:21:20Speaker 3: But he's not going to be playing for four. He's
- 1:21:21Speaker 3: going to be two.
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: Yeah, I know. But there's some guys who just want
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: to be with one. Ovechkin. Ovechkin could have left a
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: while back. after that cup, because they haven't been very
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: good either. They've made the playoffs, but they've been one
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: and done.
- 1:21:35Speaker 3: I mean, Dirk, for that matter, we're talking about players
- 1:21:38Speaker 3: that just want to be with one team.
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:21:40Speaker 3: I mean, Dirk kept giving the Mavs that hometown discount.
- 1:21:43Speaker 3: So I understand it.
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: Well, that'll do it for us this week. Hopefully these
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: Yankees can pull out for you, man. I don't know.
- 1:21:55Speaker 3: We've got three more innings. We'll see. I don't think
- 1:21:58Speaker 3: they will, but We'll just go back to New York.
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: Once again, if you wish to comment on this episode,
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: we hope you've enjoyed it, by the way. WolfpackDFW for

- 1:22:17Speaker 1: You can slide in our DMs if you want. If
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: you've got a comment, we'll read it when we record,
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: just like when Jeff Ortiz does it. We'll read those, too.
- 1:22:29Speaker 3: He's going to have two episodes to comment on now. Yeah.
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: For El Lobo de Juarez, Manny Galvan.
- 1:22:37Speaker 3: See you guys.
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: I am Rene DeLeon, the White Wolf, wishing you good
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: sports fortune in the week to come. We will see
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: you next time.
