- 2:13Speaker 1: in here, my guy not not here man, welcome, my
- 2:15Speaker 1: brother keV was good Man. Finally, finally you're here. Finally
- 2:18Speaker 1: we're here. Man. You had a pretty great pandemic. I
- 2:23Speaker 1: feel like your life changed during the pandemic a little bit, man,
- 2:26Speaker 1: A little bit, you know, just a lot of bit. Yeah,
- 2:29Speaker 1: I mean it was it was a you know, twenty
- 2:31Speaker 1: twenty was a very challenging but a very for your career,
- 2:36Speaker 1: for my career, Yeah, your career went up, for sure.
- 2:39Speaker 1: And there's certain couple more listeners. Yeah, quite a few
- 2:43Speaker 1: more listeners. Yeah, I mean yeah, I feel like, you know,
- 2:46Speaker 1: some people like used the last couple of years to
- 2:50Speaker 1: like as really as like an excuse as to why
- 2:52Speaker 1: they're whatever the fuck down badge. I'm not even talking
- 2:55Speaker 1: about just musicians but just people in general. But like
- 2:57Speaker 1: a lot of people really like use it as quite
- 3:01Speaker 1: the opposite. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I felt like that was
- 3:03Speaker 1: like the year that everybody needed, like like the music
- 3:08Speaker 1: within itself and music was substance exactly because they were
- 3:12Speaker 1: listening at the CRIG correct or they were listening in
- 3:14Speaker 1: their car. They weren't standing on fucking man couches. There
- 3:18Speaker 1: wasn't nothing else to do but to listen to music.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Exactly what's all cleared up? You know, nobody was on
- 3:24Speaker 1: the road. Six Flags shut down all the theme parks
- 3:28Speaker 1: and shut down you know for sure. That's why I
- 3:30Speaker 1: feel like guys like yourself, Like we saw a lot
- 3:32Speaker 1: of guys have like the best. The Griselda guys were
- 3:35Speaker 1: already popping, but they really went next level. Freddy and
- 3:39Speaker 1: Alfredo and uh even if you look at the Grammy nominations, right,
- 3:44Speaker 1: it was like a bunch of rap shit. It was
- 3:45Speaker 1: like Jay Electronica and d Smoke and exact Freddy Gibbs
- 3:49Speaker 1: and Royce exactly exactly. It was good for music, I think, Yeah,
- 3:53Speaker 1: I feel like we got a heavy outpour of like
- 3:54Speaker 1: real rap during that time. That just the amazing rap
- 3:57Speaker 1: I think was like probably up was one of my
- 4:00Speaker 1: favorite years in hip hop in recent memory as far
- 4:02Speaker 1: as just like the stuff I like, like, like just
- 4:04Speaker 1: the music that was released, just the quality was I
- 4:06Speaker 1: feel like on another level, I would say, so yeah,
- 4:08Speaker 1: it was up there. What part of LA are you from?
- 4:11Speaker 1: I'm from the Krenshaw District. Okay, you know, uh you
- 4:16Speaker 1: know near like Lamart Park like that around that area.
- 4:19Speaker 1: Crenshawn King grew up born Race over there, went to
- 4:23Speaker 1: school over there Atabama Middle School, Dorsey High School. So
- 4:27Speaker 1: talk about like for you because you know, LA is
- 4:30Speaker 1: such an interesting place when we think of like the
- 4:33Speaker 1: biggest artists to come out of LA. Like you got
- 4:36Speaker 1: someone like Kendrick who is the biggest but also is
- 4:40Speaker 1: like not gang affiliated, you know, grew up in the neighborhood,
- 4:44Speaker 1: but like you know, it wasn't a part of that lifestyle.
- 4:47Speaker 1: And then on the other on the flip side, you
- 4:49Speaker 1: got Snoop Dog who's probably the most famous rapper of
- 4:51Speaker 1: all time but just got done seawalking and throwing up
- 4:54Speaker 1: at the super Bowl. You know. I think like there's
- 4:57Speaker 1: always a stereotype about LA people when you don't live here,
- 5:03Speaker 1: that it's like all one thing and it's but it's
- 5:06Speaker 1: such a dynamic place, and I think that like what
- 5:10Speaker 1: what you're bringing to the table is like a very
- 5:12Speaker 1: like just a dope perspective on what it's like to
- 5:16Speaker 1: not be wrapped up in that lifestyle but still kind
- 5:18Speaker 1: of be from those areas, you know, definitely exactly. I think. Me,
- 5:21Speaker 1: my my thing has always been you know, just given
- 5:25Speaker 1: like a fly on a wall perspective because I know
- 5:27Speaker 1: a lot of guys from both sides, you know, and
- 5:30Speaker 1: you know, just having had watched it like from a
- 5:32Speaker 1: you know, like closely you know, but not being directly
- 5:37Speaker 1: in it and tied to it, you know, just gave
- 5:41Speaker 1: me the ability to give a different perspective, coming and
- 5:46Speaker 1: coming from you know, the Crenshaw district, so you know, uh,
- 5:51Speaker 1: you know, I know a lot of guys are familiar
- 5:53Speaker 1: with you know, Nipsey ice Que of course when they
- 5:56Speaker 1: hear South Central so and just the arena that these
- 6:01Speaker 1: guys were in, you know, gave the world I feel
- 6:05Speaker 1: like a perspective of what LA is coming from like
- 6:09Speaker 1: that area. But I feel like with me, you know,
- 6:12Speaker 1: it's it's it's being close to it but not being
- 6:16Speaker 1: in it, right, you know. So what do you think
- 6:19Speaker 1: is the biggest misconception about l A in general? I think,
- 6:23Speaker 1: like living here for five or six years now, I
- 6:26Speaker 1: think it's like from my perspective, it's like people come
- 6:29Speaker 1: out here, but they don't really ever come to LA.
- 6:31Speaker 1: They go to like the valley or they go to
- 6:33Speaker 1: Hollywood or and they think that's Las. Really the closest
- 6:37Speaker 1: part of LA they've been to is when they landed
- 6:39Speaker 1: exactly exactly. I think the biggest misconception is that everybody
- 6:43Speaker 1: in LA is fake. It's like, nah, man, you stay
- 6:47Speaker 1: north of the ten Freeway and like, you know, you
- 6:49Speaker 1: are on no disrespect on Fairfax all day, on Merrows
- 6:54Speaker 1: all day, and you know, it's kind of like, oh,
- 6:56Speaker 1: go where the culture is, you know, go go where
- 6:59Speaker 1: you can get some good food that go you know,
- 7:02Speaker 1: to her Oom right on Lamart Park, you know, where
- 7:06Speaker 1: you get a sense of like real community, you know.
- 7:08Speaker 1: So I feel I personally feel like that's the biggest
- 7:12Speaker 1: misconception of LA. And a lot of times, honestly, it
- 7:16Speaker 1: be like people that will come here and adapt to
- 7:20Speaker 1: a mentality that they feel like they have to have
- 7:23Speaker 1: to live in LA and a lot of people, you know,
- 7:26Speaker 1: for the most part, you know, they meet people like
- 7:29Speaker 1: that and they feel like everybody in LA is like that,
- 7:31Speaker 1: and that's not the things well, and most of the time,
- 7:34Speaker 1: because like there's been a few people that have gone
- 7:36Speaker 1: LA viral for talking shit about LA. Right yeah, R
- 7:41Speaker 1: and B singers. We won't get into the who's in
- 7:43Speaker 1: the weeds of it, right, But it's like people who
- 7:45Speaker 1: aren't even from here exactly, And it's like, obviously you're
- 7:48Speaker 1: probably mostly interacting with people who aren't from here as well,
- 7:51Speaker 1: and or are very much like involved in the entertainment industry,
- 7:55Speaker 1: and unfortunately exactly in the entertainment industry. It just is
- 7:58Speaker 1: what it is. Most people are full of shit. It
- 8:00Speaker 1: that everywhere and no matter what you're a part of. Yeah,
- 8:03Speaker 1: but like I do feel like, particularly like I understand
- 8:06Speaker 1: how someone could be scorned by like their experience in
- 8:10Speaker 1: the music industry, but like just because someone lives here,
- 8:13Speaker 1: like you know, they're it's not the same thing, correct,
- 8:16Speaker 1: And it's like, if you're not from here, shut the
- 8:18Speaker 1: fuck up. That's it. Like you're here, you're here, you're here,
- 8:22Speaker 1: you know you're taking the good right, you love the
- 8:25Speaker 1: like there's a reason why you're here, right exactly because
- 8:27Speaker 1: you kind of have to be here for your career. Correct.
- 8:30Speaker 1: So if you could get all that positive out of
- 8:32Speaker 1: Los Angeles but then want to go on Twitter and
- 8:34Speaker 1: ship on like fucking homeless people or you know, all
- 8:38Speaker 1: these little things, it's like, right, La is beautiful, doll man,
- 8:41Speaker 1: like it's so many different like nuances, Like no, La
- 8:44Speaker 1: is such a dynamic city. There's like, really, whatever you're
- 8:48Speaker 1: looking for, you get here. Yeah, exactly. And really if
- 8:50Speaker 1: you just if you want to drive within like three
- 8:52Speaker 1: hours of La, it's like really limitless. It's like you
- 8:55Speaker 1: could go to the fucking desert and trip on Shroon's
- 8:57Speaker 1: a Joshua Tree. You can go to Irvine and exactly exactly.
- 9:01Speaker 1: It's it's it's so many different layers to the city.
- 9:05Speaker 1: You know, like you said you want to go to
- 9:08Speaker 1: Joshua Tree, Palm Springs, Coachella, It's not too far from that.
- 9:11Speaker 1: It's like its own little country, low key southern California.
- 9:14Speaker 1: It's wild. Correct, you have a record. The one record
- 9:18Speaker 1: that I heard from me that really kind of like
- 9:19Speaker 1: grabbed me was the Heaven and Hennessy record, which I
- 9:21Speaker 1: felt like was like a super dope, vulnerable record. Is
- 9:26Speaker 1: it your biggest record on Spotify? I want to say so, yeah,
- 9:30Speaker 1: that record. Uh. We don't get a lot of like
- 9:36Speaker 1: artists really kind of channeling what it like, what those
- 9:39Speaker 1: emotions are on songs where you really feeling. I guess
- 9:42Speaker 1: like where were you what place were you at in life?
- 9:44Speaker 1: When you when you wrote that and recorded it a
- 9:46Speaker 1: frustrated place, trying to figure life out, where I'm going,
- 9:49Speaker 1: where I'm heading, where I was, you know, and just
- 9:53Speaker 1: being stuck in between like a rock and a hard place,
- 9:56Speaker 1: not only in like my community, but but like in
- 10:01Speaker 1: my career, right, you know, like when am I gonna
- 10:04Speaker 1: get this like everything that I've been like being I
- 10:08Speaker 1: feel like I've been working towards and it's just like, damn,
- 10:10Speaker 1: when am I gonna get this break? Like this big
- 10:12Speaker 1: break that us as artists always imagine that we're gonna
- 10:15Speaker 1: have and this, that and the third. And it was
- 10:17Speaker 1: just kind of like for me, I'm like, Okay, I
- 10:20Speaker 1: need to bear it all and I need to explain
- 10:22Speaker 1: where I'm at and how I feel, because I know
- 10:24Speaker 1: there are other people out there, whether you're whatever it
- 10:27Speaker 1: is or whatever industry that you work in, you know,
- 10:30Speaker 1: that feel like how I feel, you know. So it
- 10:33Speaker 1: was just really just getting that on record, you know.
- 10:36Speaker 1: And man, everybody tells me all the time, like man
- 10:41Speaker 1: heaving a Hennessy, that's one of my favorite records. I
- 10:43Speaker 1: just did a pop up and somebody hit me. They
- 10:45Speaker 1: were like, Yo, can you guys play heaving a Hennessy,
- 10:48Speaker 1: I'm pulling up. Make sure y'all play Hennessy. That's one
- 10:50Speaker 1: of my favorite records. So when did things kind of
- 10:53Speaker 1: start to change for you in terms of like momentum
- 10:56Speaker 1: or like like, was it an opportunity? Was it a
- 10:59Speaker 1: certain moment where like things started to kind of like
- 11:01Speaker 1: some of those frustrations were like alleviated a little bit.
- 11:05Speaker 1: I want to say with the release to Save Yourself.
- 11:08Speaker 1: Like with the release of Save Yourself, uh, because you
- 11:12Speaker 1: had all them playlists on lock Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
- 11:15Speaker 1: for artists with your following Yeah, I was like, yo,
- 11:18Speaker 1: they really got to fuck with him because we don't
- 11:20Speaker 1: see this a lot. Yeah. Yeah, No, it was honestly
- 11:23Speaker 1: just people just gravitating towards the music and just like
- 11:25Speaker 1: doing things and thinking outside the box during the pandemic
- 11:29Speaker 1: because we couldn't do shows, so, you know, me, myself
- 11:32Speaker 1: and my team, my manager Drew, we was just like
- 11:35Speaker 1: kind of just brainstorming, like how can we further you know,
- 11:39Speaker 1: our agenda being locked inside the house. So we came
- 11:42Speaker 1: up with the idea of like putting together like a
- 11:44Speaker 1: live series session. Those were dope. Were you back in
- 11:47Speaker 1: the backyard? Yeah, yeah, and you perform like we super
- 11:51Speaker 1: dope literally my camera dude mentality exactly. Yeah, we're like, okay,
- 11:56Speaker 1: all right, what can we do? And we just came
- 11:58Speaker 1: up with that and my he did the whole thing.
- 12:01Speaker 1: We did it in his backyard. You know, Wow, I
- 12:03Speaker 1: got a couch. I think that was actually my couch
- 12:06Speaker 1: from my house, but in the backyard, called up some
- 12:09Speaker 1: of the homies, you know, laid a yanky little rug
- 12:13Speaker 1: on the floor. That shit stood out to me because
- 12:16Speaker 1: I was like, man like you and the dude from
- 12:19Speaker 1: the Baylor Russell. I just love what y'all were doing
- 12:22Speaker 1: with like the online content, because I feel like we
- 12:24Speaker 1: always think, like, you know, one of the biggest excuses
- 12:27Speaker 1: the artist will have it is like I ain't got
- 12:29Speaker 1: money for a music video or you know, I don't
- 12:31Speaker 1: got a budget to do this this is and it's
- 12:33Speaker 1: like yo, really and you say you use the camera guy,
- 12:36Speaker 1: but like low key, really, if you have a fucking
- 12:38Speaker 1: iPhone and a real creative thought process, like you can
- 12:42Speaker 1: create some fire shit. Listen. It's so many I look
- 12:47Speaker 1: at how we used to live life before technology really
- 12:51Speaker 1: started booming, and I'm like, Dn, we're really privileged. You
- 12:55Speaker 1: can do whatever you want. If you don't know how
- 12:58Speaker 1: to do something, everything's Googler boo, and you could just
- 13:01Speaker 1: hit up YouTube learn how to play the piano, learn
- 13:04Speaker 1: how to learn how to do whatever. So it's not
- 13:06Speaker 1: just wild, that is true. Yeah. Yeah, YouTube is low
- 13:09Speaker 1: key made like cookbooks and like how two books, Like
- 13:13Speaker 1: I'm telling, I'm telling my wife was like telling me.
- 13:16Speaker 1: She's like, I think I want to make a cookbook,
- 13:17Speaker 1: And I'm like, why fucking start a YouTube? Yeah, I'm
- 13:20Speaker 1: telling you. It was buying any fucking cookbooks any boy. Yeah,
- 13:22Speaker 1: I'm telling. Even like they got these Instagram chefs now
- 13:25Speaker 1: where it's like they show you how to cook in
- 13:27Speaker 1: like thirty seconds. I just was on a dude's page
- 13:30Speaker 1: today who went to McDonald's and he bought a filet
- 13:33Speaker 1: of fish and he took it home and he made
- 13:35Speaker 1: his own version of it. Oh my gosh, and it
- 13:37Speaker 1: looks so fire, I'm telling you. And I was like, damn,
- 13:40Speaker 1: I like watched like four videos. Yeah, no, it's wild. Yeah,
- 13:43Speaker 1: and he probably saved. Like even think about printing directions,
- 13:47Speaker 1: what you know, Like back then, it's like, yo, you
- 13:49Speaker 1: had to print out what was that map mat map
- 13:52Speaker 1: quest even before that, like when I was a little
- 13:54Speaker 1: kid and my fucking dad used to buy the map
- 13:56Speaker 1: book out of the fucking liquor store. That shit is
- 13:59Speaker 1: like I can't even imagine existing in the world without GPS.
- 14:03Speaker 1: That is yeah, that's crazy because you really, like now
- 14:06Speaker 1: you really don't need to learn anything. You just need
- 14:09Speaker 1: to get in your car and just look at like
- 14:11Speaker 1: go right, it's the where before you really had to,
- 14:14Speaker 1: like you driving looking down at what turns you trying
- 14:18Speaker 1: to make it like well you have like really like okay,
- 14:20Speaker 1: like I got to remember that this is here. Yep,
- 14:23Speaker 1: not anymore. Yep, not anymore. So it's just like, you know,
- 14:26Speaker 1: really a no excuse attitude and facts, you know, just
- 14:30Speaker 1: honestly just d IY and just get into it. You know.
- 14:33Speaker 1: You feel like the type of artist the Top Dog
- 14:35Speaker 1: would try to sign. Any discussions happened. I obviously got
- 14:38Speaker 1: the record with reason, the video reason. I've gotten that
- 14:40Speaker 1: a lot, man, and I really I respect, like honestly,
- 14:44Speaker 1: like when I really sat down and like was like, yo,
- 14:49Speaker 1: I want to do this music thing. And I just
- 14:51Speaker 1: seen like top Dog and him come up in the
- 14:52Speaker 1: city the way that they did, it was very inspiring.
- 14:54Speaker 1: For me, you know, and Kendrick is my favorite artist,
- 14:58Speaker 1: you know, so to see like in the beginning of
- 15:02Speaker 1: his career, like the level of honesty you know, and
- 15:04Speaker 1: the transparen sacks you know, that was like he used
- 15:09Speaker 1: to really transcend, you know, showed me a lot like
- 15:13Speaker 1: this is this is before you're real with the world.
- 15:16Speaker 1: You gotta be real with yourself, you know. So with
- 15:19Speaker 1: the whole name change and everything like that, like how
- 15:22Speaker 1: he did. I saw that and it was it inspired me.
- 15:24Speaker 1: So yeah, I fuck with those guys a lot. Yeah,
- 15:29Speaker 1: I mean, but you also just build your own TD exactly.
- 15:32Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. I think for me, it's
- 15:33Speaker 1: just you know, just seeing and taking a lot of
- 15:37Speaker 1: of what I would like to call like the La
- 15:41Speaker 1: Renaissance guys like you know, TD and guys like Dom Kennedy.
- 15:45Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. You and I thirst, you know, yeah, yeah, pactive,
- 15:51Speaker 1: you know, just seeing how they were just yeah, yeah,
- 15:54Speaker 1: I was one of the I was talking to somebody
- 15:56Speaker 1: about that the other day. I said, somebody needs to
- 16:00Speaker 1: might need to make a documentary about that era. Yeah,
- 16:02Speaker 1: this is the blog La La Rap. It was a
- 16:06Speaker 1: show every week, you know, and I was going to
- 16:08Speaker 1: all of these You and I Yeah, yeah, yeah, you
- 16:10Speaker 1: and I. You had Casey, Veggie, Sean, Christopher John Christopher
- 16:14Speaker 1: was so cold. Yeah. Man, he was working with LA
- 16:17Speaker 1: for a little bit. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I believe so.
- 16:20Speaker 1: I have a Sean Christopher. He did a record. I
- 16:22Speaker 1: think he was signed to Timberland too. I think I
- 16:24Speaker 1: think he was. Yeah, I think Christopher was cold. I
- 16:27Speaker 1: think he was. Yeah. But just like being in LA
- 16:29Speaker 1: at that time, that was like El Press shout out
- 16:32Speaker 1: to Press, that's that's that's my dog. Yeah. Like seeing
- 16:36Speaker 1: exactly like you know, El Press, and like seeing those
- 16:39Speaker 1: guys like really do it, how they do it? Did
- 16:41Speaker 1: it at that time and just you know, they would
- 16:44Speaker 1: throw their own shows and like and it was they
- 16:47Speaker 1: did it together too, Like it was a show every week,
- 16:51Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, And you would see familiar
- 16:53Speaker 1: names on the on the bill, you know, and just
- 16:55Speaker 1: seeing how they were doing it, you know that that
- 16:58Speaker 1: inspired me. I was able to like participate in that
- 17:01Speaker 1: stuff definitely. I was. I was. I was and just
- 17:03Speaker 1: like just go to shows because before then I was
- 17:06Speaker 1: so trapped in like you know what I'm saying, just
- 17:08Speaker 1: going to work every day and like, you know, I
- 17:11Speaker 1: think my first taste of of life outside of my
- 17:17Speaker 1: neighborhood was, you know, when I started working at the Grove,
- 17:22Speaker 1: and you know, just like I think for me, everything
- 17:25Speaker 1: expanded for me at that time, even like my taste
- 17:27Speaker 1: of music and stuff like that. And I heared some
- 17:29Speaker 1: crazy I've liveder six years. I've never been to the
- 17:31Speaker 1: Beverly Center or the Growth really never. I don't know why.
- 17:35Speaker 1: I just never. I have no idea. That's crazy. Those
- 17:38Speaker 1: are two places, Like I've driven by both many times,
- 17:41Speaker 1: and I've always I'm like, how haven't ever been inside
- 17:44Speaker 1: of there? That's crazy, That's actually pretty crazy. It is
- 17:47Speaker 1: kind of crazy. That's pretty crazy. You've never been there
- 17:49Speaker 1: for anything, like for nothing, that's wold for literally nothing.
- 17:53Speaker 1: That's my like go to life for Christmas shopping. Like yeah,
- 17:56Speaker 1: I don't know. I think it's because I've lived in
- 17:58Speaker 1: the valley the whole time, so like, I don't know, Yeah,
- 18:02Speaker 1: I just never have gone to like like I've been out,
- 18:04Speaker 1: I've been over there a lot, but I just never,
- 18:06Speaker 1: like this have happened to go. I've been to Slason
- 18:09Speaker 1: swat me like seven times, and you've never been to
- 18:12Speaker 1: the grove. Pretty crazy. It's crazy. Yeah, it's like crazy.
- 18:16Speaker 1: I hear you know, I got to check out the grove. Yeah,
- 18:19Speaker 1: I heard that they put like there's like because of
- 18:21Speaker 1: the smash and grab ship, they had to put a
- 18:23Speaker 1: bunch of like wild ass like fences around the grove
- 18:25Speaker 1: or some shit. Oh man, funny enough. I haven't been
- 18:28Speaker 1: to the grove in a minute. It's been a midwhile. Yeah,
- 18:30Speaker 1: it's been a while since I've been to the grove,
- 18:32Speaker 1: but I could probably imagine after everything has turned up
- 18:37Speaker 1: right now. Yeah, yeah, yeah, definitely, one hundred percent. One
- 18:40Speaker 1: hundred percent. It's pretty crazy. It's pretty crazy. So you know,
- 18:46Speaker 1: before that era we were talking about there was like
- 18:49Speaker 1: I grew up, so I'm three years older than you.
- 18:52Speaker 1: But my best friend's brother is in a rap group
- 18:54Speaker 1: called Dilated People's a word, which is a probably the
- 18:58Speaker 1: most unlike legendary fucking underground boom bap rap group in
- 19:02Speaker 1: LA history. So either them or Jurassic five, Living Legends,
- 19:06Speaker 1: living legs. So when I was like twelve and thirteen,
- 19:10Speaker 1: I come to LA from Arizona, uh and hang out
- 19:13Speaker 1: with like those guys the alcoholics fucking exhibit wow. Uh,
- 19:20Speaker 1: And like I went to both of their album release
- 19:22Speaker 1: parties out here. Wow. It was the platform and it
- 19:25Speaker 1: was Expansion Team. But it was kind of crazy because
- 19:29Speaker 1: like I would be at Fat Beats. I don't know
- 19:32Speaker 1: if you ever went to Fat Beats what uh was on?
- 19:36Speaker 1: I don't fucking know, man, I just know it was upstairs.
- 19:38Speaker 1: It was on Melros. So like, yeah, I was at
- 19:40Speaker 1: Fat Beats like when I was like thirteen, and like
- 19:43Speaker 1: it was just such such an ill vibe, like because
- 19:46Speaker 1: that was to me like peak underground la shit, because
- 19:48Speaker 1: that was like those guys got like real major deals
- 19:51Speaker 1: out of that shit. That's crazy Fat Beats bro. So
- 19:54Speaker 1: when I so that's so. That's another thing. When I
- 19:57Speaker 1: was working at the grow It, you know, I that's
- 20:00Speaker 1: where I discovered like like mail Rows and all of
- 20:02Speaker 1: that stuff. You know, I was like, what seventeen eighteen
- 20:05Speaker 1: years old, just walking on mail Rows. I come by
- 20:08Speaker 1: Fat Beats, you know, I come across Fat Beats and
- 20:10Speaker 1: I'm like, yo, what's this? You know, and a whole
- 20:13Speaker 1: bunch of like vinyls and records and like Fat Beats. Yeah,
- 20:17Speaker 1: that's crazy. And then they closed down after that. But
- 20:21Speaker 1: around that time, I was like, you know, like yo,
- 20:25Speaker 1: let me, let me, let me print up a few
- 20:27Speaker 1: of my like songs on the CD and take it
- 20:30Speaker 1: to Fat Beats and see if it's cool, if they'll
- 20:32Speaker 1: just like have them at the front and like if
- 20:34Speaker 1: somebody purchases whatever they purchase, give away my CD with that.
- 20:38Speaker 1: You know, Fat Beats back low key people like you know,
- 20:41Speaker 1: Vinyl sells more than like, like Vinyl really be selling now.
- 20:44Speaker 1: I think Fat Beats did open back up. I think
- 20:46Speaker 1: they're in downtown. If I'm not a shit, I knew that.
- 20:48Speaker 1: I knew they're a record label now yeah, yeah, I
- 20:51Speaker 1: know they put out like indie rap shit. I don't know. Yeah,
- 20:54Speaker 1: a record store, yeah, crazy Yeah, Fat Beats legendary. It's crazy. Yo.
- 20:59Speaker 1: We got to take a break in the interview real quick.
- 21:01Speaker 1: Tell you about our folks at my Bookie. Man, this
- 21:04Speaker 1: is my favorite time of the year to gamble. I
- 21:06Speaker 1: love gambling on sports. And if you've been thinking about
- 21:10Speaker 1: putting your toe into the pool, come and join me
- 21:13Speaker 1: at my Bookie. Okay, right now, we're doing a promotion

- 22:15Speaker 1: just put out a new record and video where sir,
- 22:18Speaker 1: there had to have been nothing in the coffee cup,
- 22:20Speaker 1: right There was might have been a little some because
- 22:23Speaker 1: I'm like, bro, your white team, your white team was
- 22:26Speaker 1: not a state white might have been a little something.
- 22:30Speaker 1: There was an actual coffee in there. It's all. It's
- 22:33Speaker 1: all in the driving. You know. The driver was going.
- 22:36Speaker 1: He wasn't. He wasn't going like you know, like trance.
- 22:39Speaker 1: He wasn't on his transport vibes like where he was
- 22:42Speaker 1: that like a sketchy video to try to shoot, just
- 22:44Speaker 1: in terms of like hanging out the top of a car.
- 22:46Speaker 1: Nah man. It was honestly, it was just like yo,
- 22:49Speaker 1: we just pop out and just you know, okay what
- 22:51Speaker 1: we did? Go back down, get my presidential you know,
- 22:53Speaker 1: wave to the people, say hi, people are looking at you. Crazy?
- 22:56Speaker 1: They were? They were they were they really were there
- 23:00Speaker 1: really were. And my camera guy he was like he
- 23:04Speaker 1: was just you know, he popped out too, a sense
- 23:06Speaker 1: of like yo, what what the fuck is going on?
- 23:09Speaker 1: Like what are you guys shooting? But you know it
- 23:12Speaker 1: was cool. I feel very comfortable. I was in my neighborhood,
- 23:14Speaker 1: and you know, I came up with the idea. I
- 23:18Speaker 1: was just like, you know, I thought I always thought
- 23:20Speaker 1: it would be cool to like do some shit like that.
- 23:22Speaker 1: Like I came out. It was like you know, we
- 23:27Speaker 1: go on King Boulevard for like an hour. Shoot that
- 23:30Speaker 1: is that? Like what is your It's kind of like
- 23:34Speaker 1: like obviously this is that just a single? Or is
- 23:36Speaker 1: that going to be connected to a new body of
- 23:38Speaker 1: work or what's what's next for you? It's a single.
- 23:40Speaker 1: It's a single that that is connected to a body
- 23:43Speaker 1: of work that you know, that's being put together right now,
- 23:47Speaker 1: that should be out very soon. So yeah, you know,
- 23:49Speaker 1: but I think for me, it's just just kind of
- 23:52Speaker 1: hitting people with like music, like you know what I'm saying. Yeah,
- 23:54Speaker 1: you can't let people unfortunately, man, unless you unless you're
- 23:57Speaker 1: Kendrick or you're like the Weekend, or you can't really
- 24:01Speaker 1: like just sit on your hands for three years. Yeah. Man,
- 24:04Speaker 1: look Roddy Rich couldn't even do it. Yeah, exactly. You know,
- 24:07Speaker 1: that's my dog. But like he I feel like he
- 24:09Speaker 1: waited too long, you know what I mean? Like, do
- 24:12Speaker 1: you like that project? His new album? Yeah? I wasn't
- 24:15Speaker 1: fond of it. Were I didn't think it was as
- 24:17Speaker 1: bad as everyone said it was, But I also didn't
- 24:20Speaker 1: think it was good. And I'm a big fan of
- 24:22Speaker 1: him and his whole discography, and I just think sometimes
- 24:27Speaker 1: when you sit on shit too long, you start psyching
- 24:30Speaker 1: yourself out about it. Because I had heard stuff that
- 24:33Speaker 1: was supposed to be on a version of his second
- 24:36Speaker 1: album that wasn't on the album. At least from what
- 24:41Speaker 1: I've heard, most of his album that we got was
- 24:45Speaker 1: fairly recently recorded. So I think artists make a mistake
- 24:49Speaker 1: a lot of times. And I don't know, I'm not
- 24:51Speaker 1: speaking on him in particular, but I just do. I
- 24:53Speaker 1: do know that like whenever you're sitting on a song
- 24:56Speaker 1: for too long, he becomes old to you, even if
- 24:59Speaker 1: no one has heard it, that's true, and then you'll
- 25:02Speaker 1: start to think that like the new ship you did
- 25:04Speaker 1: is better than the ship that you knew that you
- 25:05Speaker 1: know was hard, and it's like it's just like especially now, man,
- 25:09Speaker 1: I think people overthink their music. Like you'll just like
- 25:11Speaker 1: what you're like to just put some shit out, like
- 25:13Speaker 1: put it out, just put it out, put it out.
- 25:16Speaker 1: The longer you say, it's just kind of like yeah,
- 25:18Speaker 1: and then like people most music that like like when
- 25:22Speaker 1: I'm like like a lot of artists that I know,
- 25:24Speaker 1: I hear songs and I'm I'll talk to them three
- 25:26Speaker 1: or four years like, yeah, whatever happened? To that fucking song, right,
- 25:29Speaker 1: you know, man, it just got old, they got tired.
- 25:33Speaker 1: I'm like, bro, that shit was hard. Yeah yeah yeah.
- 25:35Speaker 1: And I'm not a fan of like announcing like, oh yeah,
- 25:38Speaker 1: new music coming soon and then having people wait like
- 25:40Speaker 1: two years or like right now. For me, if I'm like, yo,
- 25:44Speaker 1: new music's coming soon, it's probably coming in. Like Roddy's
- 25:46Speaker 1: got to drop asap now, like he's really got to
- 25:50Speaker 1: like ninety days and the next ninety days, we better
- 25:53Speaker 1: get some of VMADI And I like him, and I like,
- 25:56Speaker 1: I really like him. In mustards, oh yeah, they don't
- 25:59Speaker 1: miss Yeah, they late at night in fashion, come on. Yeah.
- 26:03Speaker 1: What I actually heard was a lot of the original
- 26:07Speaker 1: project was supposed to be more like late at night.
- 26:09Speaker 1: Oh word. So I don't know what happened. I think
- 26:12Speaker 1: I think when you're someone like Roddy Rich, you're like
- 26:15Speaker 1: a pop star, you're like a superstar. And I think
- 26:18Speaker 1: that like this project, it felt to me like he
- 26:20Speaker 1: was trying to compete with like the little Babies and
- 26:23Speaker 1: Dirks of the world as opposed to like the post
- 26:25Speaker 1: Malons of the world, if that makes sense. I'm like, Roddy,
- 26:28Speaker 1: you're a stadium artist. Bro like right, and it's all
- 26:31Speaker 1: you know, it's all a learning experience even for him
- 26:33Speaker 1: for sure. Nah, for sure. And he's a great dude's
- 26:36Speaker 1: and he's so talented. He's fine. Yeah, but I can
- 26:40Speaker 1: only imagine, like mentally that she's got to take a
- 26:42Speaker 1: toll on you people talking about your art too much. Yeah,
- 26:45Speaker 1: for sure. I mean I was just talking to somebody
- 26:47Speaker 1: the other day. It's kind of like, you know, as
- 26:49Speaker 1: an artist. You know, there's a level of bravery that
- 26:52Speaker 1: goes into being an artist because you work on something
- 26:55Speaker 1: so hard that you think every every song that you
- 26:59Speaker 1: are preparing to put out, you feel like, okay, it's
- 27:01Speaker 1: on the album for a reason, you must really fuck
- 27:02Speaker 1: with it, right, And then you know, you put it
- 27:04Speaker 1: out in hopes that people like it. You know, you
- 27:06Speaker 1: put your workout, you know, just open to everybody. Everyone's
- 27:12Speaker 1: everyone is ritic now, yeah, and everybody is a Twitter
- 27:15Speaker 1: A and R. Everyone has access to tell you how
- 27:17Speaker 1: they feel about your back in the day. They have
- 27:20Speaker 1: to see with them all or something exactly exactly they exactly,
- 27:23Speaker 1: they would have to you know, write fan mail or
- 27:25Speaker 1: something like that. You know, So yeah, I definitely, yeah,
- 27:30Speaker 1: I think he I think he'll be good. Uh. What
- 27:33Speaker 1: about on this new project have you gotten do you
- 27:35Speaker 1: have any features locked in? Yeah? Yes, yeah, we're working
- 27:40Speaker 1: on it. We're working on it, working on it. We're
- 27:42Speaker 1: working on it. We're working on it. I take a guess,
- 27:46Speaker 1: la Artists Yeah obviously yeah, hmm, buddy, can't confirm nor deny.
- 28:00Speaker 1: There it is with Rayvon too. I want to hear
- 28:06Speaker 1: you in rayvll Man. I funk with Rayvon. I actually
- 28:09Speaker 1: saw him. He's so yeah, he man, he's super cold.
- 28:13Speaker 1: He's super cold. I saw him at a where was that?
- 28:17Speaker 1: Oh he smokes show at the Rocky in which I performed,
- 28:21Speaker 1: and he was he was there and I saw it
- 28:23Speaker 1: was just by himself. Yeah that's how. Yeah, chill, chill,
- 28:27Speaker 1: love it. I love it, bro, I love it. You
- 28:29Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. He's chill, he's super humble, and
- 28:32Speaker 1: he's dope. He's he's really dope. I think t d
- 28:35Speaker 1: definitely has gold on her hands. Oh with him, yeah,
- 28:39Speaker 1: I think he's like to me, like when I think
- 28:41Speaker 1: of t d E and like obviously Kendrick's on his
- 28:44Speaker 1: last project. Sorry, uh. I think ray Von is the
- 28:48Speaker 1: one guy that they have that's like young that can
- 28:51Speaker 1: be like a super like a star. Right, he got
- 28:55Speaker 1: star quality for sure? For sure? What about like just
- 28:59Speaker 1: in Jen, Like, w how do you spend your free time? Man?
- 29:01Speaker 1: When you're not recording, when you're not making content, what
- 29:03Speaker 1: are you doing? Man? I'm at the beach, bro, I'm
- 29:05Speaker 1: telling you. That's why. I'm like, bro, La is just
- 29:07Speaker 1: like you know, so you love the beach, Bro. I
- 29:09Speaker 1: love the beach. I love going to Malibu. I love
- 29:12Speaker 1: just like being out there and just like you know,
- 29:15Speaker 1: just catching the vibe, just like you know. Just most
- 29:18Speaker 1: people don't hang out at the beach from La. They don't.
- 29:20Speaker 1: They don't. It's kind of crazy they don't. But I'm like,
- 29:23Speaker 1: I know you can take advantage of that. I'm like,
- 29:26Speaker 1: you know how many people that live in Phoenix that
- 29:30Speaker 1: wish they all come here to fucking sit at the beach,
- 29:32Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. Most Yeah, it's crazy. Most
- 29:34Speaker 1: people who live here don't go to the fucking beach.
- 29:36Speaker 1: It's not a thing, right. I think it's because it's
- 29:38Speaker 1: a drive for the most part of you live over there,
- 29:42Speaker 1: but like most part, but it's it's a it's a drive,
- 29:45Speaker 1: it is, but it's it's just like so relaxing, and
- 29:48Speaker 1: sometimes like even when you're out that way, it doesn't
- 29:51Speaker 1: even feel like you're in LA anymore for sure. That's facts.
- 29:54Speaker 1: So it's just kind of like, you know, your favorite
- 29:56Speaker 1: beach is Malibu. My favorite beach, I have a few
- 29:59Speaker 1: I like no matter do or which is invallible, you know,
- 30:03Speaker 1: and it's Malibu. Feels like you're somewhere else. It feels
- 30:05Speaker 1: like you're somewhere else. Yeah, it really feels like you're
- 30:07Speaker 1: like like you're in a different state or something telling you.
- 30:11Speaker 1: I encourage everybody to, like, you know, just take advantage.
- 30:15Speaker 1: If you live in LA and you paying for high
- 30:17Speaker 1: ass rent, you gotta take advantage. You gotta take advantage
- 30:20Speaker 1: of all the men rent in that crazy come on.
- 30:24Speaker 1: So I'm just like, yo, dude, I just looked at
- 30:26Speaker 1: Palm Springs for the first time this past weekend when
- 30:28Speaker 1: my wife. I've driven through that bitch like one hundred
- 30:31Speaker 1: and fifty times going to Phoenix, but like actually like
- 30:35Speaker 1: went to Palm Springs, had lunch and shit, and then
- 30:38Speaker 1: we went to Joshua Tree and spent the night h
- 30:41Speaker 1: rooms in the desert. It was amazing. But it's like
- 30:44Speaker 1: I was just telling my wife the same shit. I'm like, man,
- 30:46Speaker 1: this shit is kind of crazy, Like we don't ever
- 30:49Speaker 1: come over here. It's two hours away. What the fuck
- 30:51Speaker 1: are we doing? Like this shit is so like it's
- 30:54Speaker 1: like a whole nother vibe, right man, you be taking
- 30:58Speaker 1: trips cause I saw you a few days ago. Man,
- 31:00Speaker 1: I don't know where I was in Palm Springs on
- 31:02Speaker 1: a horse. Yeah, my wife wanted to ride a horse
- 31:06Speaker 1: for her birthday, so I was fired. Was that your
- 31:09Speaker 1: first time like writing no horse? Maybe I might have
- 31:13Speaker 1: did when I was a kid, but that it's not comfortable, man,
- 31:18Speaker 1: I just I don't know you rode a horse? No, Yeah,
- 31:21Speaker 1: it's not comfortable because like we were, it was like
- 31:23Speaker 1: a two hour excursion like in the like fucking hills
- 31:28Speaker 1: of Palm Springs, and that ship was not comfortable. My
- 31:30Speaker 1: legs were sore. The horse kept ship Like. Yeah, we
- 31:36Speaker 1: watched a show called Yellowstone on and that's what It's
- 31:40Speaker 1: a cowboy show and that ship is that's what inspired
- 31:42Speaker 1: that or yah word like, let's go ride some horses.
- 31:45Speaker 1: By the way, Yellowstone is gas everyone watch it. Kevin
- 31:48Speaker 1: Costners in it, Okay, who grew up in Compton. That
- 31:53Speaker 1: tripped me out when I saw and found that out.
- 31:56Speaker 1: Kevin Costner's from Compton, California. That's crazy. It's a wild
- 32:02Speaker 1: thing to think of. Yeah, one of my homies, he's
- 32:04Speaker 1: actually from Compton. He was like, yeah, man, we got
- 32:07Speaker 1: everybody in comforton. We got we got let me say,
- 32:10Speaker 1: he said, we got Kemp Troop got easy, we got
- 32:12Speaker 1: Kevin Costa. I said what. I was like, wait, what
- 32:15Speaker 1: are you talking about? And I was like, oh, yeah,
- 32:18Speaker 1: that shit's wild. Yeah, that's kind of crazy. It's crazy. Yeah,
- 32:21Speaker 1: that's crazy. You would never think it at all. Yo.

- 33:43Speaker 1: Is it like for you being like an artist who
- 33:45Speaker 1: obviously you're very much yourself, You're very much you know,
- 33:52Speaker 1: high on artistic integrity. Is it like kind of hard
- 33:56Speaker 1: to be that artist in twenty twenty two, Like do
- 33:59Speaker 1: you ever get it? You know, there's so many shortcuts
- 34:03Speaker 1: to like I guess clout or going viral or just
- 34:07Speaker 1: shit like that, Like like like, is it is it
- 34:10Speaker 1: hard to stay focused on like your mission and making
- 34:13Speaker 1: sure you don't kind of allow outside shit to kind
- 34:16Speaker 1: of interfere on with the way you move right in
- 34:19Speaker 1: this industry. For me, no, because I know I'm locked
- 34:23Speaker 1: into a I'm locked in I'm locked in purpose, you know,
- 34:28Speaker 1: just like my vision and my goal like what I
- 34:31Speaker 1: you know, when the sauce had done, No, the work
- 34:34Speaker 1: that I leave behind, or like my kids are going
- 34:36Speaker 1: to listen to? Am I going to be proud of that?
- 34:38Speaker 1: You know? So for me, it's just like just just
- 34:41Speaker 1: seeing and knowing that that's what keeps me tunnel vision. Like,
- 34:45Speaker 1: you know, I don't let the trends of whatever is
- 34:47Speaker 1: going on come in, you know, dilute whatever it is
- 34:50Speaker 1: that I'm doing, you know, because a lot of stuff
- 34:52Speaker 1: that's happening now, you know what I'm saying, a lot
- 34:55Speaker 1: of it is fly by night shit. I'm saying is
- 34:58Speaker 1: here to day is going tomorrow? Right? A lot of
- 35:00Speaker 1: the stuff that was around three or four years ago,
- 35:03Speaker 1: two years ago, two years ago. You know. So now
- 35:06Speaker 1: now I think like when we think of like who's
- 35:08Speaker 1: been at the top of the rap game for the
- 35:10Speaker 1: last decade, it's three guys. It's Kendrick, Cohen, Drake, and
- 35:14Speaker 1: like they're all incredibly just next level amazing at just
- 35:19Speaker 1: rapping right exactly, and that should be that's proof. Like
- 35:23Speaker 1: that's like like clear, they're like never good. It's like
- 35:25Speaker 1: they're like I'm the present. Like it's like they're irrelevant
- 35:28Speaker 1: no matter what. Same thing. Like, I mean, you could
- 35:30Speaker 1: even go back further and say jay Z. You know,
- 35:32Speaker 1: like Jay, if Jay puts the album out tomorrow, He's
- 35:35Speaker 1: it's no one's going to be like, what the fuck
- 35:38Speaker 1: is this? Out of here? Out of here, out of
- 35:39Speaker 1: it to the point where it's just kind of like,
- 35:41Speaker 1: you know, they've gained guys like Cole and you know,
- 35:45Speaker 1: and they've kind of like dictated the market to where
- 35:48Speaker 1: it's just like, Okay, I could just come out and
- 35:51Speaker 1: just put out an album without a single or anything,
- 35:53Speaker 1: and you know my fans are gonna love and eat
- 35:56Speaker 1: it up, and you know they're gonna appreciate it, you know,
- 35:58Speaker 1: and you know it it's yeah, that's that's what it is.
- 36:03Speaker 1: But yeah, I think those three are like clear cut
- 36:06Speaker 1: proof for sure you did some stuff with the Rams.
- 36:09Speaker 1: I saw. Yeah. Now, are you like a O. G
- 36:12Speaker 1: Rams fan? Honestly? For me, I'm just happy we got
- 36:16Speaker 1: a team. Okay, I'm one of those. Were you a
- 36:20Speaker 1: football fan prior to the Rams coming back to l A,
- 36:22Speaker 1: I don't really, I see, I watched football every now
- 36:24Speaker 1: and then. I'm not like I'm more basketball. Okay, Okay,
- 36:27Speaker 1: that's you know, yeah, that's yeah. Shout out to the
- 36:31Speaker 1: Lakers man. A lot of rings, A lot of rings,
- 36:33Speaker 1: I will say that, a lot of rings. But rough
- 36:35Speaker 1: right now, we gotta get it together. We gotta get
- 36:37Speaker 1: it together. We gotta get it together, y'all. You know
- 36:40Speaker 1: you guys unfortunately unfortunately put us put us out of
- 36:44Speaker 1: our misery very early in the playoffs. Yeah, you know what,
- 36:47Speaker 1: nothing was the same after Lebron taunted Jay Crowder on
- 36:51Speaker 1: this when it was him and the drumming and drumming
- 36:53Speaker 1: was taunting Jay Crowder. Nothing's been the same since then.
- 36:58Speaker 1: But nothing made me happier. And seeing you know, Janni's
- 37:01Speaker 1: like kind of like he killed it. No, he killed it.
- 37:03Speaker 1: He killed us he did very epic way. Yeah, yeah,
- 37:07Speaker 1: but nah, I think I think, I don't know, we
- 37:10Speaker 1: just got to get it together. I feel like, you know,
- 37:13Speaker 1: two teams that I feel like if we don't get
- 37:15Speaker 1: it together and who will be a problem for us
- 37:18Speaker 1: is Phoenix and go to State. I think there's I
- 37:21Speaker 1: think those are the two teams in the West that
- 37:22Speaker 1: like also low key if Paul George and Kawhi Leonard
- 37:28Speaker 1: come back somehow in the last couple of weeks of
- 37:32Speaker 1: the season where they can sneak into the play in
- 37:34Speaker 1: and they come back in the playoffs, and I hate
- 37:36Speaker 1: the Clippers and I hate I hate Kawhi Leonard, but
- 37:39Speaker 1: they just got fucking Robert Covington. They just got Norman
- 37:45Speaker 1: Powell from the Clippers. Bro, they could start four or
- 37:48Speaker 1: five guys that can defend anyone. That's true, Yeah, but
- 37:52Speaker 1: the Clippers. Yeah, why you hat Kawhi? He'd be so quiet, man,
- 37:55Speaker 1: Kawhi is a bitch. I didn't like what he did
- 37:58Speaker 1: to Lebron, to be honest, I think he hold out.
- 38:00Speaker 1: He kind of hold Lebron and held out on him.
- 38:02Speaker 1: And then I'm a Lebron fan. Yeah, so like I'm
- 38:06Speaker 1: a diehard Lebron fan, so like I've the Sons have
- 38:09Speaker 1: been so, I mean, I'm a diehard Suns fan, but
- 38:12Speaker 1: I've always been like, Okay, Lebron always played in the
- 38:14Speaker 1: East and the Sun sucked, so I was always just
- 38:17Speaker 1: rooting for Lebron or the Suns. Yeah, so fair enough.
- 38:21Speaker 1: When he came to l A, I had a real
- 38:22Speaker 1: serious conflict inside because I hate the Lakers, but I
- 38:27Speaker 1: just love Lebron, so I really felt like, Kawhi, hold
- 38:30Speaker 1: Lebron low key, damn. I mean. And then and then
- 38:35Speaker 1: they had to just get all the scraps off the
- 38:38Speaker 1: fucking off the they literally because all the free agents
- 38:41Speaker 1: signed that year. Oh yeah, we were, so they were
- 38:43Speaker 1: just grabbing whoever Avery fucking Bradley who I mean, obviously
- 38:47Speaker 1: they got a ring so it didn't matter. But yeah,
- 38:50Speaker 1: quiet to me is a very I just don't like
- 38:52Speaker 1: the way he'd be moving. He's sitting up in the
- 38:53Speaker 1: fucking owner. He's low key. It's the playoffs, so why
- 38:57Speaker 1: are you sitting up? Go sit with your fucking inmates.
- 39:01Speaker 1: That's hilarious. I like him on my team. So do
- 39:05Speaker 1: you feel like he's top seventy five of all time? Uh? Probably?
- 39:11Speaker 1: But fuck him. I don't know, man, I mean the
- 39:16Speaker 1: fact that he came. I thought that was some of
- 39:20Speaker 1: the most legendary shit to come to Toronto, Toronto year one.
- 39:28Speaker 1: All this forgiving, No, I don't disagree. I mean, he's
- 39:30Speaker 1: amazing if you look at his career stats, though they're
- 39:33Speaker 1: extremely low compared to everyone else because of the amount
- 39:35Speaker 1: of games. He hasn't played a lot of games because
- 39:36Speaker 1: he's always injured. I think Kyrie Irving should have been
- 39:40Speaker 1: Kyrie and Dwight should have been in the top seventy five.
- 39:43Speaker 1: I could definitely agree with that. I had this argument
- 39:47Speaker 1: with a friend as far as like Dwight goes, I
- 39:49Speaker 1: do feel like he's had he ran. What do you
- 39:51Speaker 1: like he went to the finals? He was like fucking
- 39:54Speaker 1: I don't know how many defensive players of the year.
- 39:55Speaker 1: He was the best center in the league for at
- 39:57Speaker 1: least ten years. That's what I was. I think the whitest.
- 40:00Speaker 1: Don't forget people for sure, forget like how good he
- 40:03Speaker 1: was because of like, you know whoever he you know,
- 40:06Speaker 1: he kind of turned into a goof and a bad
- 40:08Speaker 1: teammate later on, But like dude, Dwight Howard was that motherfucker. Yeah, no,
- 40:11Speaker 1: Dwight is definitely He's Hall of Fame for sure. I
- 40:14Speaker 1: would put Kyrie in over Dame Lillard. To be honest,
- 40:17Speaker 1: what does t mac fit in all of that? Because
- 40:19Speaker 1: he got left out? I think I think T Mack
- 40:22Speaker 1: just didn't have enough years. Like I think t Mac
- 40:25Speaker 1: could have been like as like that all time great,
- 40:29Speaker 1: but I just feel like injuries just kind of fucked
- 40:31Speaker 1: him up, you know, Like I don't know, Yeah, I
- 40:35Speaker 1: don't know. I think I think Kyrie Irving and I
- 40:38Speaker 1: haven't liked Kyrie for some time, just like how he
- 40:41Speaker 1: moves and shit, and I actually respect the way he's
- 40:45Speaker 1: handling the vaccine thing. But uh, I think he's probably
- 40:49Speaker 1: the most skilled player ever. Yeah. That motherfucker's like art.
- 40:53Speaker 1: Like if you watch Kyrie Irving play basketball in slow motion,
- 40:56Speaker 1: it is the most beautiful. It's like ballet, yeah, literally,
- 41:00Speaker 1: like just like it's like he has like an invisible string.
- 41:04Speaker 1: It's like the like the ball is his head. Yeah literally,
- 41:07Speaker 1: it's like literally literally, and he's just like dribbling it's
- 41:10Speaker 1: like you know, and I think he's to me at
- 41:14Speaker 1: the rim. I think he's one of the best finishers
- 41:17Speaker 1: and he won a fucking ring with Cleveland, and he
- 41:20Speaker 1: won that ring. He sunned Steph Curry and hit that
- 41:24Speaker 1: shot like you saw it, you Bay Area fuck. They
- 41:29Speaker 1: got that switched and he said, no, I want him.
- 41:31Speaker 1: He stepped up. He wanted your God and Steph Curry's
- 41:35Speaker 1: Oh I got this, didn't have it? Did? He stepped up? Man?
- 41:38Speaker 1: He was picking on Steph the whole series. Because you're
- 41:40Speaker 1: fucking sorry, I'm talking to my producer who's swinging off
- 41:42Speaker 1: Steph Cury every it's Steph crazy. He's having one of
- 41:47Speaker 1: the best. Who gives a fuck? Shut the fuck up?
- 41:55Speaker 1: What the best basketball player ever? Relaxed, bro, he's got
- 42:00Speaker 1: like four years left before, like he's a sixth band somewhere,
- 42:04Speaker 1: chill out. Do you think he's winning MVP this season?
- 42:07Speaker 1: Fuck No, it's gonna be yoke at your EMBIID sees wow. No,
- 42:11Speaker 1: it's gonna be yoke at your EMBID and Beat is
- 42:13Speaker 1: like you think, so are you serious? I mean, I'm
- 42:16Speaker 1: a gambling man, so I look at the odds. It's
- 42:18Speaker 1: gonna be yoke at your EMBIID stuff. Em Beat is
- 42:21Speaker 1: all in. Steph is having a crazy mb fifty points
- 42:27Speaker 1: in like twenty five minutes, like two weeks ago, Like,
- 42:30Speaker 1: how do you like Harden over there? I don't know.
- 42:33Speaker 1: I'm not sure hard in his I don't know what
- 42:36Speaker 1: to think of James anymore. To be honest, nice guy,
- 42:38Speaker 1: I'm cool with him, Like, I just don't know, Like,
- 42:40Speaker 1: you know, I think he wants to executive produce rap albums,
- 42:42Speaker 1: you know, if I'm being honest, I'm not sure he
- 42:46Speaker 1: like wants to be the MVP of the NBA anymore.
- 42:48Speaker 1: But he's back with Daryl Moury, so you know, I
- 42:50Speaker 1: like embeat a lot, So I hope that they I
- 42:52Speaker 1: hope it goes well. I really, uh, I can't stay.
- 42:56Speaker 1: I don't funk with Katie because I met him and
- 42:58Speaker 1: he was super nice, and I've been to his house,
- 42:59Speaker 1: and yeah, I think Brooklyn is Brooklyn. Katie did some
- 43:03Speaker 1: whole as shit when it went to Golden State. Damn.
- 43:06Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, I wouldn't fucking with that. I definitely wasn't.
- 43:09Speaker 1: But then I met him and he was like the
- 43:11Speaker 1: nicest guy, So I was like, ah, and I talked
- 43:15Speaker 1: to him for like thirty minutes. I was like, God,
- 43:16Speaker 1: damn it. I hope he doesn't check my Twitter for
- 43:18Speaker 1: like four years. Top three greatest scorers of all time
- 43:22Speaker 1: to me, KD for sure, he's in there. Definitely pure
- 43:26Speaker 1: score like just hot take you ready for the hot take?
- 43:29Speaker 1: What's the hot Katie over Kobe? When it's all said
- 43:36Speaker 1: and done. See, you didn't even know if I could
- 43:39Speaker 1: agree with that, But but you know what, I appreciate
- 43:41Speaker 1: the fact that you did not shoot it down yep,
- 43:43Speaker 1: because you're an actual basketball fan. Right, Kobe's top ten
- 43:46Speaker 1: all time. I love Kobe, But I think when it's
- 43:48Speaker 1: all said and done, KT is gonna be like he's
- 43:52Speaker 1: gonna be knocking on that like Larry Bird, like Magic Johnson.
- 43:56Speaker 1: And we talking all like all around or are we
- 43:59Speaker 1: talking about just like when we talk about just just
- 44:01Speaker 1: career wise best No, no, no, not scoring, Okay, I
- 44:04Speaker 1: think the best scorer is low key James Harden in
- 44:08Speaker 1: the NBA right now. I just think it lasts like
- 44:09Speaker 1: twenty years. Who's been a better score like Harden. Literally
- 44:12Speaker 1: the whole entire thing was Iso. The whole offense was
- 44:16Speaker 1: just Iso changes fire. I like to change the NBA,
- 44:20Speaker 1: Like they had to fix the free throw rule because
- 44:23Speaker 1: of him, and and they had to change. They should
- 44:28Speaker 1: have won two m vps. They had to change the
- 44:30Speaker 1: fake jump into the person that's scoring. You might not
- 44:35Speaker 1: like it. Man, he changed the NBA. He did. I
- 44:39Speaker 1: mean I personally think that. I think Steph revolution you know.
- 44:45Speaker 1: Steph changed like the way kids want to through three
- 44:48Speaker 1: point shit is that's ridiculous. But there's like every every
- 44:52Speaker 1: now and then you have just like you know, like
- 44:54Speaker 1: Trey Young came out of like Steph Curry's nuts. Like
- 44:56Speaker 1: without Steph Curry, Trey Young would be in the NBA definitely,
- 44:59Speaker 1: I think because he would to play the way he played.
- 45:01Speaker 1: I think like between like like yeah, every now and
- 45:04Speaker 1: then you just have those players that they come in
- 45:06Speaker 1: and just revolutionize the game, you know, step I'll give
- 45:08Speaker 1: Steph that all day. As much as I think he's
- 45:09Speaker 1: a little ship, I don't give him that. He's changed
- 45:11Speaker 1: the NBA forever. And he's amazing. He's very good. Man.
- 45:16Speaker 1: Don't let don't let Golden State play Phoenix. Oh we're
- 45:19Speaker 1: smoking him, man, I'm putting all my money on the Sun.
- 45:22Speaker 1: Oh man, that's gonna be what are you talking about?
- 45:26Speaker 1: I gotta see this. I want to see this. He
- 45:29Speaker 1: don't even want that to happen because he knows when
- 45:31Speaker 1: the Suns win. He's not built for this, for this smoke. Man.
- 45:35Speaker 1: I just hope we win't. I hope we just get
- 45:37Speaker 1: it together, figured it out. I got to get into playing, yeah,
- 45:40Speaker 1: I know, man, just starting. Hey, I think the Lakers
- 45:42Speaker 1: have to somehow convince Russell Westbrook to be a sixth man.
- 45:46Speaker 1: If they can, if Kendrick Nunning not happening, If Kendrick
- 45:49Speaker 1: Nunn comes back and starts at point guard, and you
- 45:52Speaker 1: got the little white rookie hitting threes, what's his fucking name,
- 45:55Speaker 1: Austin Reeves, He's got to stand in the ar fifteen
- 46:00Speaker 1: best best fucking nickname since Kilinko ak forty seven exactly.
- 46:05Speaker 1: He just stands in the corner, hit threes, Let Lebron
- 46:08Speaker 1: facilitate le A do his thing, and then just bring
- 46:10Speaker 1: in the Second Union and have Russ hold it down. Man,
- 46:13Speaker 1: good luck. That's the problem. It's like, you know, because
- 46:16Speaker 1: the matchine, dude, the Lakers would actually be good if
- 46:20Speaker 1: they could convince Russell Westbrook to be a six man.
- 46:22Speaker 1: A six man, what you bring your Russ off the
- 46:25Speaker 1: bench against the Second Union? I mean I could, I
- 46:28Speaker 1: can see it. I don't think Russell can. No, I'm
- 46:34Speaker 1: not you should start on other teams, yeah, but not
- 46:37Speaker 1: on the Lakers. It just doesn't make sense. Obviously. It's
- 46:40Speaker 1: a fucking mess. Man. I thought it was gonna be
- 46:42Speaker 1: like one of those situations where, you know, I feel
- 46:44Speaker 1: like everybody that plays with Lebron, uh, I feel like
- 46:49Speaker 1: Lebron does make players better. You would hope that he
- 46:52Speaker 1: would make Russell kind of kick back a little, back
- 46:56Speaker 1: a little Yeah, that was my hope. At the end
- 46:58Speaker 1: of those games, Russell Westbrook got the all so you know,
- 47:00Speaker 1: the game's over, damn. Man. I thought, honestly, we were
- 47:05Speaker 1: looking better with Malone, Peyton, Kobe and Shack than we
- 47:11Speaker 1: are now currently. I mean that team went to the finals.
- 47:14Speaker 1: They did, but to the Pistons exactly. But even then,
- 47:17Speaker 1: but you went to the finals, we went, We went
- 47:19Speaker 1: to the finals, right, and you know, even then, everybody
- 47:22Speaker 1: was like, you know, it was kind of like, oh, yeah,
- 47:24Speaker 1: that was a terrible season for us, blah blah. But
- 47:28Speaker 1: you know, seeing the season that we haven't now like,
- 47:31Speaker 1: we'll see what happens. I think if I think, I
- 47:33Speaker 1: think if the Lakers make it into the playoffs, nobody
- 47:35Speaker 1: wants to see them in the first round because you
- 47:37Speaker 1: still got to play a d and Lebron James you
- 47:39Speaker 1: got the Suns and you saw him in the first
- 47:41Speaker 1: round last year and beat them and bounced. They ask
- 47:43Speaker 1: anyway we'd like to see that's fair two years in
- 47:48Speaker 1: a row bringing bring it, that's fair. That's for eighty eighty.
- 47:50Speaker 1: Gotta stay healthy, that's he's the glass man man. So
- 47:55Speaker 1: when when are we gonna get this project? Like? Uh,
- 47:57Speaker 1: for first of all, how how close are you from
- 47:59Speaker 1: being finished with your new album? It's yeah, okay, so
