- 0:02Speaker 1: I have compiled a good chunk of clips here from
- 0:07Speaker 1: individuals that may or may not be one-hit wonders. And
- 0:12Speaker 1: I think pretty early on, you'll find out that these
- 0:15Speaker 1: are a lot of trick questions, Angie.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Oh, great.
- 0:17Speaker 3: I've set you up for failure.
- 0:19Speaker 1: If you are riding in your car and you hear
- 0:22Speaker 1: these clips, you know you're obviously welcome to guess and
- 0:24Speaker 1: play along with us here this morning. Are you ready
- 0:27Speaker 1: for for the first one, Angie. Very famous song. You
- 0:30Speaker 1: probably know almost all the words to this.
- 0:32Speaker 4: Okay.
- 0:33Speaker 3: Okay, are you ready?
- 0:33Speaker 2: Yep.
- 0:34Speaker 3: Here we go.
- 0:35Speaker 5: One, two, three, four, five.
- 0:38Speaker 6: Everybody in the car, so come on, let's ride to
- 0:40Speaker 6: the liquor store off the corner.
- 0:43Speaker 5: The boys say they want some gin and juice, but
- 0:45Speaker 5: I really don't wanna.
- 0:46Speaker 1: That is obviously Lubega Mambo No. 5.
- 0:49Speaker 3: Was Lubega a one-hit wonder?
- 0:52Speaker 4: And he never mamboed again. That's a one-hit wonder, baby.
- 0:55Speaker 2: And....
- 0:57Speaker 1: You would be exactly correct. He did have some hits internationally, but...
- 1:04Speaker 1: We don't count that here in America.
- 1:05Speaker 3: Only one U.S. one-hit wonder.
- 1:08Speaker 1: If you can see, I've kind of rigged the deck
- 1:10Speaker 1: a little bit for some of these, okay? What about
- 1:12Speaker 1: this song, Angie?
- 1:13Speaker 3: Remember this one?
- 1:14Speaker 5: Tag team, back again.
- 1:16Speaker 7: Check it, direct it, let's begin. Party on, party people,
- 1:19Speaker 7: let me hear some noise.
- 1:20Speaker 2: D.C.
- 1:20Speaker 7: 's in the house, jump, jump, rejoice. There's a party
- 1:22Speaker 7: over here, a party over there. Wave your hands in
- 1:24Speaker 7: the air, shake the derriere. I love this song.
- 1:28Speaker 6: This takes me back to fourth grade. Jumper of competition
- 1:33Speaker 6: was to this song.
- 1:35Speaker 4: And I believe it's a one-hit wonder.
- 1:37Speaker 3: Tag Team.
- 1:38Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:38Speaker 1: They are a true one-hit wonder. The only song, unless
- 1:43Speaker 1: you were really diving deep into Tag Team, the only
- 1:47Speaker 1: real song that they had out that.
- 1:49Speaker 3: We listened to. Up two for two, baby. Up two
- 1:51Speaker 3: for two. What about this one?
- 1:55Speaker 6: That's Gautier, and that's a true one-hit wonder. He is
- 2:01Speaker 6: now someone that we used to know, and we do
- 2:04Speaker 6: not know this man anymore.
- 2:05Speaker 4: Gautier featuring Kimbra, I'll never forget.
- 2:08Speaker 1: That is 1,000%, Gautier. Somebody that I used to know.
- 2:12Speaker 6: Yep.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Not only was he a true one-hit wonder internationally... He's
- 2:17Speaker 1: also a one-hit wonder here in the United States.
- 2:20Speaker 4: Yeah, he really did nothing else.
- 2:22Speaker 1: Kind of surprising because this song was so massive for
- 2:25Speaker 1: a chunk of time, you thought maybe they'd pick song
- 2:27Speaker 1: eight from whatever.
- 2:29Speaker 3: Album this is.
- 2:29Speaker 6: Right?
- 2:30Speaker 5: No, this is great.
- 2:31Speaker 3: And turned it into some kind of hit. All right,
- 2:32Speaker 3: what about this, Angie? Do you recognize this?
- 2:35Speaker 5: Imagination, life is your creation. Come on, Barbie, let's go party.
- 2:40Speaker 7: Come on.
- 2:41Speaker 6: Okay, I don't know if you know this about me,
- 2:43Speaker 6: but I am a huge Aqua fan, and they officially disbanded,
- 2:47Speaker 6: I think, earlier this year or late last year. I
- 2:51Speaker 6: think technically here in America, a one-hit wonder.
- 2:55Speaker 3: See, you're catching on to my rules here.
- 2:57Speaker 4: But internationally, I mean, Aqua was it.
- 3:01Speaker 6: I love Aqua. Barbie Girl, not even the best song
- 3:04Speaker 6: on that album.
- 3:05Speaker 5: Wow.
- 3:06Speaker 3: Well, some people with Aqua would assume one-hit wonder.
- 3:09Speaker 1: But Aqua did have other charting singles, most of them overseas.
- 3:15Speaker 3: So technically... Not quite a one-hit wonder.
- 3:19Speaker 6: All right.
- 3:22Speaker 1: If you have any one-hit wonders, by the way, that
- 3:24Speaker 1: you would like to send us, let's see if you
- 3:28Speaker 1: can stump Angie here this morning.
- 3:30Speaker 3: Someone who maybe had a one-hit wonder.
- 3:33Speaker 1: But a song that charted internationally or it just wasn't
- 3:36Speaker 1: in the top 10 or something on billboards. Let's see
- 3:39Speaker 1: if we can get Angie this morning. 701-280-1987. I knew
- 3:43Speaker 1: Angie was going to be really good at this. If
- 3:45Speaker 1: you don't know this about Angie, incredible at trivia.
- 3:48Speaker 4: Oh, thank you.
- 3:49Speaker 3: I appreciate that. Very, very good trivia teammate.
- 3:51Speaker 6: I feel like next week I want to do this
- 3:54Speaker 6: with you. I want you to identify. No, two hit wonders.
- 3:57Speaker 6: I love a one hit wonder. I love a two
- 3:59Speaker 6: hit wonder even more. So I think I want to
- 4:02Speaker 6: do the hit and then you got to tell me
- 4:04Speaker 6: what the second one was.
- 4:05Speaker 2: All right.
- 4:05Speaker 1: We can maybe do that next week here on Big 98.7.
- 4:08Speaker 1: Let us know one hit wonder or not your favorite artist.
- 4:12Speaker 2: Big 98.7.
- 4:15Speaker 8: Celebrating life's little victories. Every morning we practice gratitude on
- 4:20Speaker 8: Big 98.7.
- 4:21Speaker 7: If I could, I would keep this feeling in a
- 4:24Speaker 7: plastic jar.
- 4:25Speaker 5: Bust it out whenever someone's acting hard.
- 4:27Speaker 8: Share your little victories with us at 701-280-1987. Kids, I
- 4:30Speaker 8: also needed a win that day.
- 4:36Speaker 3: Angie, do you have a little victory for us today?
- 4:38Speaker 6: It is bittersweet, but the kids and I, the kids,
- 4:42Speaker 6: myself and Mikey, we were watching a show together and
- 4:45Speaker 6: we just finished it. And it was a delightful show
- 4:50Speaker 6: that I would have never known about unless my little
- 4:52Speaker 6: brother texted me.
- 4:54Speaker 4: He said, there's this cartoon. You can find it on Disney.
- 4:58Speaker 6: It was originally on Cartoon Network in 2014.
- 5:02Speaker 4: It's called Over the Garden Wall. It's just a limited series.
- 5:07Speaker 4: The episodes are short. But the little.
- 5:09Speaker 6: Boy in it, Greg, reminds me of Liam. And it's
- 5:13Speaker 6: our humor. I think you should watch it. And so
- 5:16Speaker 6: we did.
- 5:17Speaker 4: This is such a.
- 5:18Speaker 6: Funny, weird cartoon over the garden wall. And we had
- 5:24Speaker 6: such a great time watching it.
- 5:26Speaker 4: As a family.
- 5:27Speaker 6: And the little boy did remind me of Liam.
- 5:30Speaker 4: And Liam, there would be things that would happen.
- 5:32Speaker 3: He goes, ha ha, that is me.
- 5:34Speaker 4: And it was just really cute. And Elijah Wood is
- 5:37Speaker 4: in it.
- 5:38Speaker 6: Melanie Linsky, Christopher Lloyd, like so many famous people do
- 5:42Speaker 6: the voices of these cartoons. And this was, Just a
- 5:46Speaker 6: little series on Cartoon Network in 2014, and my brother
- 5:50Speaker 6: happened to discover it in the big year of 2026, so.
- 5:53Speaker 4: It was just nice to watch that as the fam.
- 5:56Speaker 1: And.
- 5:56Speaker 4: It's bittersweet, though, because now it's over, and we have
- 5:59Speaker 4: to find something else to watch.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Yeah, I know exactly the feeling of that. There is
- 6:04Speaker 1: nothing better, by the way, than when someone gives you
- 6:06Speaker 1: a show suggestion, and it ends up working out. It's like, oh,
- 6:10Speaker 1: this really was worth my time.
- 6:11Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 6:13Speaker 1: I've gone through the same thing of shows ending recently,
- 6:15Speaker 1: and they're all shows I've seen a billion times, but
- 6:17Speaker 1: we just finished... The Office, because when Kaylee was born,
- 6:21Speaker 1: we had a lot of kind of sitting around time.
- 6:23Speaker 2: Yep.
- 6:24Speaker 1: And we finished The Office. We just finished Parks and Rec.
- 6:26Speaker 1: Now we're starting New Girl, which I actually haven't really watched.
- 6:29Speaker 1: I've seen chunks of episodes.
- 6:31Speaker 4: Oh, I'm so excited for you.
- 6:33Speaker 3: So I get to watch New Girl for the first time.
- 6:35Speaker 4: Oh, I love this.
- 6:37Speaker 6: There's so many shows I wish I could see for
- 6:39Speaker 6: the first time again. And New Girl is one of them.
- 6:42Speaker 6: I hope you enjoy it.
- 6:43Speaker 4: All right.
- 6:43Speaker 3: Well, what was that show you.
- 6:45Speaker 4: Over the garden wall.
- 6:46Speaker 3: Over the garden wall. Okay, I'll have to remember that
- 6:48Speaker 3: maybe when Kaylee.
- 6:49Speaker 4: Gets a little older. It's super, like, quick to get through.
- 6:52Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, right on. It's kind of funny.
- 6:54Speaker 1: My little victory is also a little family moment yesterday.
- 6:57Speaker 1: I got home from work. Corey had to run to
- 7:01Speaker 1: the bank, so we ran to the bank. We stopped
- 7:03Speaker 1: at Herbs and Gerbs, the one right off of 25th.
- 7:06Speaker 1: and we headed to Fargo Dike East Park, where there's
- 7:11Speaker 1: this big walking trail and this dog park, and there's
- 7:14Speaker 1: always people biking up and down right along the river there,
- 7:18Speaker 1: and we sat and had a.
- 7:19Speaker 3: Little family picnic.
- 7:20Speaker 4: This is so cute.
- 7:21Speaker 3: And I'm talking picnic picnic. We had the blanket out.
- 7:24Speaker 1: We did the corny ones you see on TV.
- 7:27Speaker 2: Always.
- 7:28Speaker 3: I love this.
- 7:29Speaker 4: We did a.
- 7:30Speaker 1: Little family picnic with myself, Corey, Kaylee, and Winona. And
- 7:34Speaker 1: then we walked down to the dog park for a
- 7:36Speaker 1: little bit. And it was like an hour of just bliss.
- 7:39Speaker 1: There was this couple in there. And they had a
- 7:42Speaker 1: four-month-old dog in the dog park kind of by herself.
- 7:46Speaker 1: And then Winona got in there and got to play
- 7:48Speaker 1: with this young puppy.
- 7:49Speaker 3: But you could tell it was going to be a
- 7:51Speaker 3: big dog.
- 7:52Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 7:52Speaker 1: But still, she had her long floppy ears and her
- 7:55Speaker 1: legs that were too long for her body. And it
- 7:57Speaker 1: was just very cute. And Winona is very good around
- 8:00Speaker 1: young dogs.
- 8:00Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 8:01Speaker 1: So it was kind of just an hour of the
- 8:03Speaker 1: most fun. Family, family time ever. Yeah, I have never
- 8:07Speaker 1: heard a more wholesome afternoon. Something right out of a
- 8:10Speaker 1: TV show.
- 8:12Speaker 2: Drop it, drop it. Big 98.7.
- 8:15Speaker 4: Have you heard of Oreo gate?
- 8:18Speaker 6: And I feel like maybe your algorithm wouldn't show this
- 8:21Speaker 6: to you.
- 8:22Speaker 4: Do you know what I'm talking about?
- 8:25Speaker 1: You know, I was trying to come up with some.
- 8:28Speaker 1: witty joke there? I got nothing. No, I have not
- 8:31Speaker 1: heard of Oreo Gate.
- 8:31Speaker 6: Okay, so on threads, I saw Oreo post about Oreo
- 8:37Speaker 6: Gate saying like, oh, I didn't know Oreo Gate was
- 8:39Speaker 6: going to be a thing.
- 8:39Speaker 4: And I thought, wait a minute.
- 8:41Speaker 6: Oreos are one of like my favorite snacks ever that
- 8:45Speaker 6: happened to be accidentally vegan.
- 8:47Speaker 4: Like they better not be in trouble.
- 8:49Speaker 3: Favorite snacks ever.
- 8:51Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:51Speaker 4: Yes, I love Oreo. Popcorn and Oreos, baby.
- 8:54Speaker 6: So I decided to dive down the rabbit hole of
- 8:58Speaker 6: what this Oreo gate situation is. And now that I
- 9:01Speaker 6: have a kid who has opted for bringing his lunch
- 9:05Speaker 6: to school versus having school lunch, this was a new
- 9:07Speaker 6: development in our home.
- 9:09Speaker 4: My fourth grader wants that. I became very invested.
- 9:13Speaker 6: The situation is there was a kindergarten parent group chat somewhere.
- 9:20Speaker 4: Where there was a parent who.
- 9:21Speaker 6: Said, hey, can everybody in the group chat not send
- 9:26Speaker 6: their kid with Oreos in their lunchbox because my kid
- 9:30Speaker 6: can't have Oreos at home? To which everybody in the
- 9:34Speaker 6: group chat was like, uh, what?
- 9:38Speaker 4: You can't control what we put on our kids' lunchbox?
- 9:41Speaker 8: Right.
- 9:42Speaker 6: And so then this parent went to the school and said,
- 9:46Speaker 6: I think you guys should come up with an approved
- 9:49Speaker 6: snack list where Oreos are not on the list. And
- 9:53Speaker 6: the school said to her, listen, we encourage healthy snacks. However,
- 9:58Speaker 6: we cannot control Oreos. what parents put in their kids' lunchbox.
- 10:02Speaker 4: So then.
- 10:03Speaker 6: Some of the people in the group chat started a
- 10:06Speaker 6: separate group chat.
- 10:07Speaker 4: To say, hey, we are all packing Oreos in our
- 10:09Speaker 4: kids' lunches, right? Yeah. And that part sounded very Gabe
- 10:13Speaker 4: Glidden to me.
- 10:13Speaker 3: It's like a we ride at dawn.
- 10:15Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly.
- 10:15Speaker 3: And our horse is filled with stuffing. What would it be?
- 10:20Speaker 3: White Oreo stuffing.
- 10:22Speaker 4: The cream filling.
- 10:23Speaker 6: So a lot of parents then were chiming in about like, oh,
- 10:28Speaker 6: you cannot control with someone. Like, this is a parenting
- 10:31Speaker 6: opportunity for you to be. Say to your kid, like, yeah,
- 10:35Speaker 6: you're not always going to get everything that you want.
- 10:37Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a great learning moment.
- 10:39Speaker 6: But there are these parents who are like, no, I'm
- 10:42Speaker 6: going to try to control everything.
- 10:44Speaker 4: And you know what?
- 10:45Speaker 6: I feel like it's a no-brainer to be like, this
- 10:47Speaker 6: mom was being ridiculous, trying to police what other parents.
- 10:51Speaker 4: However, I'm an open-minded broad. And if there is.
- 10:55Speaker 6: Someone out there who agrees with the mom who wanted–
- 11:00Speaker 6: you know, everybody else to not pack the Oreos.
- 11:03Speaker 4: I want to hear from you.
- 11:04Speaker 6: I want to hear your argument because make it make
- 11:07Speaker 6: sense to.
- 11:08Speaker 4: Me because I don't get it. 701-280-1987.
- 11:10Speaker 6: You can call us. You can text us because in
- 11:14Speaker 6: my head, I don't think Oreo gate is even a thing.
- 11:18Speaker 6: It's like, obviously that lady is ridiculous, but I'm open
- 11:21Speaker 6: to hearing other points of view.
- 11:23Speaker 4: But how do you feel, Gabe?
- 11:25Speaker 2: Wow.
- 11:27Speaker 1: I mean, you know exactly how I would feel about this.
- 11:29Speaker 1: I don't like arbitrary rules, much less someone else's made-up rules.
- 11:34Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 11:34Speaker 3: But if there was, like, a health.
- 11:38Speaker 1: Thing, I think that's a fair ask to be like, hey, school,
- 11:43Speaker 1: my kid's deathly allergic to Oreos.
- 11:45Speaker 2: Oh, okay.
- 11:45Speaker 1: Is there any way we could... Or can they go
- 11:48Speaker 1: eat lunch somewhere else?
- 11:49Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 11:50Speaker 3: Whatever they would have to do.
- 11:51Speaker 1: That is way different than, well, my kid doesn't get them,
- 11:54Speaker 1: so the rest of the school doesn't get them.
- 11:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:56Speaker 3: That's insane. You're trying to parent 800 kids.
- 11:59Speaker 4: Exactly.
- 11:59Speaker 6: Okay, so then even if it, let's say it is
- 12:01Speaker 6: an allergy thing, that I understand fully because that can
- 12:05Speaker 6: be deadly. But if it's a health thing in terms of,
- 12:09Speaker 6: I don't want my kids to have access to Oreos
- 12:11Speaker 6: and share Oreos. Then you can't control other people. You
- 12:14Speaker 6: can only control essentially your own kids. So that's when
- 12:18Speaker 6: you would have to say, then you, child of mine,
- 12:21Speaker 6: have to eat somewhere else. Right.
- 12:23Speaker 4: Like you cannot police other people like that.
- 12:25Speaker 6: It always has to be what you can control, which
- 12:28Speaker 6: is like yourself and.
- 12:29Speaker 4: I guess the extension of yourself, which is your child.
- 12:32Speaker 3: At that point. It is interesting.
- 12:35Speaker 2: 701-280-1987.
- 12:36Speaker 1: It would also be kind of interesting if you are
- 12:39Speaker 1: a teacher or you work in schools, I'm sure you
- 12:42Speaker 1: have gotten requests like this.
- 12:45Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 12:46Speaker 3: Or similar to that. Let us know what you would do.
- 12:50Speaker 1: Would you do exactly what this school did and went, well,
- 12:53Speaker 1: that's silly.
- 12:54Speaker 3: We can't do that. We can encourage.
- 12:57Speaker 1: Good snacks, but we can't stop a kid from bringing
- 13:00Speaker 1: Oreos to lunch. Very interesting and sounds like a very
- 13:03Speaker 1: online back-and-forth debate.
- 13:05Speaker 4: Yep.
- 13:05Speaker 3: There are people who agree with this, lady?
- 13:08Speaker 4: Very few.
- 13:09Speaker 3: I would assume there's a couple, yeah.
- 13:10Speaker 6: Very few, but then they don't give me enough context. Like,
- 13:13Speaker 6: I agree with the lady. Okay, but why?
- 13:16Speaker 3: I need to know why.
- 13:19Speaker 2: 701-280-1987.
- 13:19Speaker 1: Let us know what you think this morning here on
- 13:21Speaker 1: Big 98.7 on OreoGate, which is something I never thought
- 13:24Speaker 1: I'd say.
- 13:26Speaker 2: Big 98.7.
- 13:27Speaker 8: In the world of rules and gray areas, one morning
- 13:30Speaker 8: show dares to ask the hard questions.
- 13:32Speaker 2: We both know you're guilty.
- 13:33Speaker 4: He's guilty.
- 13:34Speaker 1: Oh, Angie, this is not an is it legal time,
- 13:37Speaker 1: is it here? This would be an am I the problem.
- 13:40Speaker 4: But Sabrina does want to know if she's guilty.
- 13:43Speaker 3: So you know what?
- 13:44Speaker 1: We're going to go ahead. Just give me one second.
- 13:46Speaker 1: I'm going to fix this mistake. Here we go.
- 13:48Speaker 5: This is am I the problem.
- 13:51Speaker 2: It's me. It's me.
- 13:56Speaker 5: We'll hear one side of the story and with your help.
- 13:59Speaker 2: Am I the problem?
- 13:59Speaker 5: Decide if it's right or if maybe you're the problem.
- 14:04Speaker 2: I'm hardly the problem.
- 14:05Speaker 5: On Big 98.7. Sorry about that.
- 14:06Speaker 4: That's how you know we're live, baby.
- 14:09Speaker 1: Did anybody do anything illegal in this?
- 14:12Speaker 3: Am I the problem? Sorry about that.
- 14:14Speaker 4: Did Sabrina do her bestie wrong? Good morning, Gabe and Angie.
- 14:19Speaker 6: Just got back from vacation with my bestie, but we're
- 14:21Speaker 6: in a fight now and we actually both want your opinion.
- 14:24Speaker 6: Long story short, we went to an all-inclusive resort together
- 14:28Speaker 6: for a week, but on the second day, I met
- 14:30Speaker 6: a single guy who was amazing, and we hooked up.
- 14:33Speaker 4: He was leaving the resort a day before us, so we.
- 14:35Speaker 6: Spent one full day together and had dinner together another night.
- 14:39Speaker 6: My friend is essentially mad that I ditched her for
- 14:43Speaker 6: a dude, but we still spent most of our time
- 14:46Speaker 6: together on the trip, and she literally said she was
- 14:48Speaker 6: okay with it when I asked in the moment. She
- 14:52Speaker 6: said she was trying to be cool, but as her
- 14:54Speaker 6: best friend, I should know better and that it's actually hurtful.
- 14:58Speaker 6: I would want to be away from her when this
- 15:00Speaker 6: was a trip for us. We're not going to end
- 15:03Speaker 6: the friendship or anything crazy, but we do want to
- 15:06Speaker 6: know who you all.
- 15:07Speaker 4: Think is right.
- 15:09Speaker 6: Who do you think is right in this situation?
- 15:12Speaker 1: As we mentioned before, girl code and guy code, they
- 15:14Speaker 1: have overlapping sections, but there are sections that are completely
- 15:20Speaker 1: on opposite sides of of the spectrum here. And so
- 15:24Speaker 1: I can't really answer for girl code. What I would
- 15:26Speaker 1: say though, is if I am out on a vacation
- 15:28Speaker 1: with my buddy, and he meets himself a hottie, and
- 15:31Speaker 1: he wants to explore that. That's the risk I was
- 15:34Speaker 1: willing to take by going on vacation with just him, okay?
- 15:37Speaker 1: I can't stop my buddy from finding his soulmate. This
- 15:41Speaker 1: girl is not in the wrong at all. Do not
- 15:44Speaker 1: let your bestie stop you from finding the potential love
- 15:48Speaker 1: of your life for a really awesome two days, okay?
- 15:52Speaker 2: Okay.
- 15:53Speaker 6: Well, we are opposite then, Gabe, because I am with
- 15:57Speaker 6: best friend... If it was a bestie trip, you go
- 16:00Speaker 6: on this trip to spend time together. And then part
- 16:04Speaker 6: of that time is like, actually, I'm going to go
- 16:06Speaker 6: be with this dude for a whole day.
- 16:08Speaker 4: They spent together. What am I supposed to be doing
- 16:10Speaker 4: during that whole day? And then they had a dinner together.
- 16:14Speaker 6: Who am I eating dinner with on that day? Even
- 16:16Speaker 6: if it like wasn't the entire trip, I don't like that.
- 16:20Speaker 6: I would have felt a way. And I also would
- 16:22Speaker 6: have been like.
- 16:23Speaker 4: No, yeah, it's cool.
- 16:25Speaker 6: And tried to sound cool about it because I don't
- 16:28Speaker 6: want to sound like a hater. But, yeah, I would
- 16:31Speaker 6: just expect my best friend to be like, you know what?
- 16:33Speaker 4: No. Like, it's fine. We're on vacation. Because, truly, they're
- 16:36Speaker 4: on vacation. Are they going to be together after? Can't
- 16:40Speaker 4: you find a booty call at home? Like, why did
- 16:44Speaker 4: you have to do it on our vacation together? I
- 16:47Speaker 4: don't like it.
- 16:48Speaker 1: I think this is a life lesson here that you
- 16:51Speaker 1: and just one friend vacation together. needs to be avoided
- 16:55Speaker 1: at all costs. There's got to be three in case
- 16:57Speaker 1: one wanders off into the wild.
- 16:59Speaker 6: Oh, well, you know what? That's not a bad idea.
- 17:01Speaker 6: What are your thoughts? 701-280-1987. We also have this up
- 17:06Speaker 6: on the Big 98.7 Facebook page.
- 17:08Speaker 2: Drop it, drop it. Big 98.7. It's me. Hi. I'm
- 17:10Speaker 2: the problem. It's me.
- 17:15Speaker 6: Sabrina and her bestie took a bestie little vacation for
- 17:20Speaker 6: a week.
- 17:21Speaker 4: And while they were there, Sabrina met a dude. They
- 17:23Speaker 4: hooked up.
- 17:24Speaker 6: They spent a day together and then on another night
- 17:27Speaker 6: went to dinner. And so her bestie is mad. She said,
- 17:32Speaker 6: you ditched me for a dude. I don't like it.
- 17:35Speaker 6: Sabrina thinks, eh, I didn't ditch you for that long.
- 17:39Speaker 6: And she thinks her bestie shouldn't be mad. So Gabe,
- 17:42Speaker 6: you think as a dude.
- 17:44Speaker 1: You don't let your bestie stop you from finding your soulmate.
- 17:49Speaker 1: If a friend, if a buddy did this to mine,
- 17:51Speaker 1: I think I could tolerate it for a while. If
- 17:53Speaker 1: it was like a week long, that's different. We're talking
- 17:56Speaker 1: a day and a dinner. Go to a museum and
- 17:59Speaker 1: entertain yourself. I know I do not like that.
- 18:02Speaker 6: I think if this is a bestie trip, we're taking
- 18:05Speaker 6: a bestie vacation together. Then you best be with me
- 18:08Speaker 6: the entire time.
- 18:11Speaker 3: That's how I feel. Actually, the whole problem is from
- 18:13Speaker 3: the beginning. All right.
- 18:15Speaker 1: This is why we don't do a just a you
- 18:17Speaker 1: and I. bestie vacation. Find yourself a third friend. It
- 18:21Speaker 1: doesn't even have to be a bestie. Just find someone
- 18:23Speaker 1: who will tag along.
- 18:24Speaker 3: All right.
- 18:25Speaker 1: So in case, yeah, in case someone finds themselves a
- 18:28Speaker 1: Fabio to wander off with into the wild.
- 18:30Speaker 5: Why not?
- 18:31Speaker 6: Julia said on Facebook, oh yeah, I would say you're
- 18:35Speaker 6: in the wrong.
- 18:36Speaker 4: Sabrina's in the wrong.
- 18:37Speaker 6: Reverse the roles and she ditches you.
- 18:39Speaker 4: How would you feel?
- 18:40Speaker 6: The whole point was a girl's trip and you prioritized
- 18:43Speaker 6: a stranger over her.
- 18:45Speaker 3: See, but that stranger could be her soulmate.
- 18:48Speaker 4: She did not add that in her submission.
- 18:52Speaker 1: This is a scene right out of a rom-com. OK,
- 18:55Speaker 1: let it happen.
- 18:57Speaker 6: I think you are a ridiculous person and you're just
- 19:01Speaker 6: a boy.
- 19:01Speaker 4: And so you don't get it.
- 19:02Speaker 6: I would be really upset if the point is a
- 19:04Speaker 6: bestie trip. Oh, you have to spend the entire time together.
- 19:08Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 19:10Speaker 4: If it's a trip. Because you're besties.
- 19:13Speaker 6: I can't imagine going on a trip with my bestie
- 19:15Speaker 6: and then her being like, well, I'm.
- 19:17Speaker 4: Actually going to go talk to this dude.
- 19:19Speaker 6: I think I also just don't like a male-centered woman.
- 19:23Speaker 6: And that's what, like, it's giving to me. Like, the
- 19:25Speaker 6: second a hot guy, oh, okay, I'm going to go
- 19:27Speaker 6: do this now.
- 19:27Speaker 5: Like, no, no.
- 19:28Speaker 3: I feel you on that.
- 19:29Speaker 4: I feel like men are accessories and your besties are
- 19:32Speaker 4: your soulmates.
- 19:33Speaker 3: That's right.
- 19:34Speaker 1: Dawn said, you never ditch your girlfriend for some random dude.
- 19:38Speaker 1: You are so wrong to do that. Sisters before misters.
- 19:42Speaker 1: Chicks before I'll let you fill in that blank.
- 19:44Speaker 6: So you know what i think what if she would
- 19:47Speaker 6: have done uh okay but i'm here with my bestie
- 19:51Speaker 6: so she's coming to dinner too because wouldn't you want
- 19:53Speaker 6: your bestie to vet the dude if you're that's what
- 19:58Speaker 6: i would.
- 19:58Speaker 1: Want that's a girl i don't know i don't need
- 20:01Speaker 1: my buddies to tell me if some girl is cool
- 20:03Speaker 1: or not Pretty easy.
- 20:06Speaker 3: No, we need it. I'm sure you do. 701-280-1987.
- 20:11Speaker 1: The most useless I've ever felt in an Am I
- 20:14Speaker 1: the Problem this morning for girl code here on Big 98.7.
- 20:18Speaker 3: Let us know what you think.
- 20:19Speaker 2: Big 98.7.
- 20:26Speaker 1: If you could have a robot do one chore for
- 20:28Speaker 1: you at your house, what would it be?
- 20:30Speaker 3: 701-280-1987.
- 20:32Speaker 1: And I'm bringing this question up because yesterday I had
- 20:36Speaker 1: this very interaction, funny interaction with our Koradi, or it's
- 20:40Speaker 1: like a Roomba.
- 20:41Speaker 3: The vacuum that goes around your house.
- 20:44Speaker 4: You had a conversation with your vacuum?
- 20:47Speaker 3: I love this thing.
- 20:49Speaker 1: I talk to our robot vacuum like it is a living,
- 20:53Speaker 1: breathing thing.
- 20:54Speaker 3: Okay, that's your first mistake, but go ahead. When he
- 20:57Speaker 3: gets stuck.
- 20:58Speaker 4: Oh, it's a boy. I like that.
- 21:00Speaker 3: I like that.
- 21:01Speaker 1: When he gets stuck underneath the couch, I'm like, oh,
- 21:03Speaker 1: I got you, buddy. And I'll help him out. When
- 21:06Speaker 1: he's struggling to find his way back home, I'm like, oh, here,
- 21:09Speaker 1: I'll guide you.
- 21:11Speaker 3: I talked to this thing like it is a living,
- 21:13Speaker 3: breathing thing.
- 21:13Speaker 4: Okay.
- 21:14Speaker 3: And I had asked my.
- 21:16Speaker 1: Cority robot yesterday, hey, is there a way I could
- 21:21Speaker 1: program you to maybe help me with this laundry? Because
- 21:24Speaker 1: now that we have the kid, you know, the laundry
- 21:25Speaker 1: is added in quantity.
- 21:28Speaker 4: Yes.
- 21:29Speaker 3: It didn't respond.
- 21:30Speaker 2: Right.
- 21:31Speaker 3: Which did bum me out.
- 21:33Speaker 1: But I was thinking, man, if I could get this
- 21:36Speaker 1: thing to do a few other tasks around this house.
- 21:40Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 21:40Speaker 3: That would be wonderful. My wife would love it. I
- 21:43Speaker 3: would love it.
- 21:43Speaker 4: I don't even have a robot vacuum. Why haven't I
- 21:46Speaker 4: jumped on that train yet?
- 21:47Speaker 1: Well, you know, with the advancements of technology, we might
- 21:51Speaker 1: be right around the corner where you could have a
- 21:53Speaker 1: robot take off one of those mundane tasks for you.
- 21:59Speaker 3: 701-280-1987.
- 22:01Speaker 1: What do you have in a robot do if you can?
- 22:02Speaker 1: Do you talk to it? Well, you just said you
- 22:04Speaker 1: don't have one.
- 22:04Speaker 4: I don't have one.
- 22:05Speaker 1: I can't be the only one who talks to the
- 22:07Speaker 1: robot vacuum like it's a little dog.
- 22:09Speaker 6: No, yeah, I feel like, yeah, a lot of people
- 22:11Speaker 6: talk to their back, things like that.
- 22:12Speaker 4: Okay, good, thank you.
- 22:13Speaker 6: For me, I feel like, oh, I can only choose one.
- 22:17Speaker 6: It's between cleaning the baseboards.
- 22:22Speaker 2: Oh.
- 22:23Speaker 4: Or cleaning the bathtub.
- 22:24Speaker 3: Okay, so getting in there.
- 22:26Speaker 4: Both are bad for my back is the real problem.
- 22:31Speaker 3: Hey, help me with this. Age thing.
- 22:34Speaker 1: Yeah, I think it's not the laundry that I dislike doing.
- 22:38Speaker 1: It is very easy to chuck some stuff in the
- 22:40Speaker 1: washer and move it to the dryer.
- 22:42Speaker 4: The folding.
- 22:42Speaker 3: It is the folding.
- 22:43Speaker 1: I have said before on this very radio station, I
- 22:47Speaker 1: if I won the Powerball, I would pay someone a
- 22:50Speaker 1: fifty thousand dollar a year salary to fold my laundry.
- 22:55Speaker 1: And the caveat to that is you don't even have
- 22:57Speaker 1: to fold it. I hang almost all of it up.
- 22:59Speaker 6: Oh, is that a dude thing? Mikey hangs almost all
- 23:03Speaker 6: of his clothes too.
- 23:04Speaker 1: I don't know if it's a dude thing or if
- 23:05Speaker 1: it's like a folding thing just takes way too much time.
- 23:08Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 23:09Speaker 1: And it's super easy to go, you know, go to
- 23:11Speaker 1: the dollar store, Walmart and buy a hundred hangers.
- 23:14Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 23:15Speaker 3: I think that's the part of that. Tara, what are
- 23:18Speaker 3: you having a robot do?
- 23:19Speaker 1: What chore or mundane task would you have them take
- 23:21Speaker 1: over for you?
- 23:22Speaker 2: Changing the sheet. The fitted sheet is my mortal enemy.
- 23:26Speaker 5: I would happily outsource that battle.
- 23:28Speaker 3: The fitted sheet.
- 23:30Speaker 6: I forgot about the fitted sheet. Yeah, yeah, changing the bedding. Oh,
- 23:35Speaker 6: that's a really good one. Do they make a robot
- 23:38Speaker 6: for that?
- 23:38Speaker 3: Well, the bedding, too, there's no fast way to really
- 23:40Speaker 3: do it.
- 23:41Speaker 6: No.
- 23:41Speaker 1: You just have to, you know, tuck and fold, I guess.
- 23:44Speaker 5: Yeah, it's the worst.
- 23:45Speaker 1: I have, when my wife was pregnant, she had this
- 23:49Speaker 1: body pillow.
- 23:51Speaker 4: Oh, I love the body pillow.
- 23:51Speaker 1: And she was super good about washing the covering of
- 23:55Speaker 1: that thing.
- 23:56Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 23:56Speaker 1: I have tried to help her put that back over
- 24:00Speaker 1: the body pillow.
- 24:01Speaker 3: Oh, no, it's impossible.
- 24:02Speaker 4: It's impossible.
- 24:03Speaker 1: So the second Kaylee, my daughter, was born, that thing
- 24:07Speaker 1: got chucked into the yard just like all of the
- 24:09Speaker 1: reels you see on Instagram.
- 24:11Speaker 4: Stop.
- 24:11Speaker 6: What if you guys have another kid? That body pillow
- 24:14Speaker 6: is major.
- 24:15Speaker 3: Well, add that to the registry, right? 701-280-1987.
- 24:19Speaker 1: Let us know what mundane task or chore do you
- 24:22Speaker 1: want the robot to help you out with?
- 24:29Speaker 5: Starting off the day with something good.
- 24:32Speaker 8: This is Gabe's Good News on Big 98.7.
- 24:37Speaker 1: Well, Gabe's Good News of the Day today comes straight
- 24:40Speaker 1: from the great state of Minnesota and Becker County, and
- 24:43Speaker 1: it's a real tailwagger.
- 24:45Speaker 4: Oh, it's going to be about a dog.
- 24:48Speaker 1: Ranger is a rescue dog, and he was found originally bloody, mattered,
- 24:54Speaker 1: living under a dirty wash rag near Pine Point.
- 24:58Speaker 3: So the story doesn't start out great, but don't worry.
- 25:00Speaker 4: Oh, yeah, it's Gabe's Good News.
- 25:01Speaker 1: It wouldn't be Gabe's Good News if it didn't have
- 25:03Speaker 1: a good ending. He is now a top ten finalist
- 25:08Speaker 1: in People Magazine's World's Cutest Rescue Dog Contest.
- 25:14Speaker 4: Okay, I love this.
- 25:16Speaker 1: And here's his owner, Barbara Cromey, on how this rescue
- 25:19Speaker 1: actually is such a big deal and why he is
- 25:22Speaker 1: such a wonderful dog and should maybe win it.
- 25:24Speaker 2: He is such a sweetheart.
- 25:27Speaker 4: He loves kids.
- 25:28Speaker 3: He loves everybody.
- 25:30Speaker 2: Your kitty. Oh, he's a good boy. He's lazy. He
- 25:33Speaker 2: loves to sleep. He loves to eat. The best snuggler.
- 25:38Speaker 5: Ranger had a rough start.
- 25:39Speaker 3: Good for Ranger.
- 25:41Speaker 4: Ranger and I have a lot in common. Lazy, loves
- 25:45Speaker 4: to sleep, good cuddler.
- 25:47Speaker 1: Those are definitely qualities you look for maybe in a
- 25:49Speaker 1: life partner as well as a dog. Now Ranger spends
- 25:53Speaker 1: his days chasing bubbles and jumping off docks at the lake.
- 25:57Speaker 1: The voting runs through September 28th and you can vote
- 26:01Speaker 1: at peoplemagazine.com. You can go show this Minnesota dog. some
- 26:06Speaker 1: love and uh how do we always end the show
- 26:08Speaker 1: angie with our favorite quote but in this instance we
- 26:11Speaker 1: do have to add in one of these who's a
- 26:13Speaker 1: good boy you know my favorite quote if you don't
- 26:16Speaker 1: hear it is the world is full of nice people
- 26:18Speaker 1: if you can't find one you gotta be one and
- 26:20Speaker 1: broken crayons they still color
