- 2:33tied his pony
- 2:35to the little hitching post out front. Roger Sails on this end, Brent Winters on the other.
- 2:41It is the, of course, dictated by that, the Friday edition, and it is the seventeenth for Tom D.
- 2:48If you're listening to Tom, it's the July 17,
- 2:52and I would mention that it was my father's birthday today. So
- 2:56happy birthday, dad,
- 2:58belatedly.
- 3:00So I did Paul, you got something to say right here, I think. Correct? Am I following the script right? Am I doing great? Very quick. Our, our website is thematrixdocs.com

- 3:31Unknown: There's bunch of stuff there. There's a bunch of stuff there. If you want information, that's where you park.
- 3:37Yes.
- 3:40Unknown: Acceptively.
- 3:41So good morning. All I've got.
- 3:42Unknown: Thank you, Paul. Morning, Brent. I did see him show up, didn't I? My eyes, I know they're bad, but are they that bad?
- 3:49Unknown: Yeah. No. I'm here. Hey, Brent.
- 3:52Yeah. Did you,
- 3:54how old would your father be today?
- 3:56Unknown: Oh, man. Don't ask me that. He'd be about 100, I think. He he died in his sixties. Both him and my grandfather
- 4:04died of heart attacks. My dad was
- 4:07in the hospital.
- 4:08Went over to Destin,
- 4:11next door to Panama City over there, big military installation to have a cataract
- 4:15replaced. He'd had one replaced,
- 4:18and they won't do two at the same time. He went back for the second one. He had a heart attack on the,
- 4:23on the operating table, unfortunately.
- 4:25Now your father is about to turn a 100 this year. Right? Right? In this time frame?
- 4:31Unknown: No. He did turn a 100 and
- 4:33he turned a 100 and,
- 4:36we had, my brother and I
- 4:39here at home. We had a little celebration in the hometown,
- 4:44And, he wasn't able to attend,
- 4:47but, all the people that had known him and the families came by and said hi. And my
- 4:53brother graciously
- 4:55I didn't realize he'd pay for so much food, but I thought it was just gonna be finger foods. Shucks.
- 5:01It was quite a feed. They had it in a barn there.
- 5:05Yeah.
- 5:05And the barn well, this family well, we all kinda know it. We're all related or sure tell cousins around there, it seems like. But there's one family.
- 5:18They, took a barn, the Richards family. They took their barn and,
- 5:24you know, the old barns that they've got that that look like barns are made of wood, and, there's two styles of them. They're
- 5:31very much a part of the culture in the Midwest,
- 5:35but they don't build them anymore and haven't built them any since really the nineteen sixties.
- 5:41And,
- 5:42but this was a big fancy old barn,
- 5:46and,
- 5:47they made a restaurant out of it back in the early seventies. Girl I went to school with married the fellow that
- 5:54had that, family owned a barn,
- 5:57and we had to get together. They have the hay mouth. That's pretty big. So they have,
- 6:02you can have conventions up there and or you can have them down in the lower part. When I was running for office, we had get togethers there constantly because it was big enough, and they served
- 6:12good food. Well, we had this little get together, and people came by and said hello. And my father
- 6:19it was, of course, over the fourth of July weekend because dad's birthday is
- 6:23on the second, I believe. So
- 6:26and that's when everybody's in town at home. Old people come home on the fourth. Yeah. Yeah. And they have fireworks
- 6:32and
- 6:33parade and all that.
- 6:36And,
- 6:37so it was an opportunity for people to come by.
- 6:40But we made a point of, mentioning,
- 6:44his war service and
- 6:47his my granddad had to sign for him because he was young. And if you were 17, they wouldn't let you in unless your parents
- 6:55or guardian signed for you a permission, and they let him in. And
- 7:01he's, you know, everything was going real fast and he's just a kid. It's hard to imagine, I guess. I I can't.
- 7:08Well, when I was 17, I don't know. I was just I'm I've I felt like a kid till I was well past 50. So I don't know how he felt. I've asked him before. But,
- 7:18anyway, they just run him through training and just fast, fast, fast. And next thing you know, they flung him to the other side, the far side of the globe, and
- 7:28he just things kept getting more intense, and then he was at Okinawa.
- 7:33And so we made mention of that. When my brother and I were little, my older brother,
- 7:39when we go out and it snow, my mother would we were little guys. I mean, we're talking four or five years old or something.
- 7:46And my mother would put these little we call them snow suits on us
- 7:50so we wouldn't get wet, you know?
- 7:53And she'd roll up the sleeves and roll up the legs. And then as I grew older, I found out that those were,
- 8:01Japanese
- 8:04kamikaze flying suits. You know? You mentioned that the other day.
- 8:09Yeah. He'd found. He got them from a cache that they'd found,
- 8:13and there were a thousand
- 8:15about nobody knows exactly how many, but documented
- 8:19about a thousand kamikaze attacks at
- 8:23at Okinawa.
- 8:24And the object was
- 8:26I I've read a lot about Okinawa because our dad was at Okinawa and I he didn't talk much about it. And I so I read a lot about it. And then as he got older, I sat down with him and I wanted every detail. And he he answered my questions and I wrote them all down, the things that at
- 8:45Okinawa and things that I had never read about. He said that that's just, history, I suppose. It's it was the largest battle of World War two and maybe the largest battle in the history of the world. I don't know. Maybe something like twelve thousand Americans died and
- 9:03and they
- 9:06of course, the Japanese want they they knew they couldn't win it,
- 9:10but they were determined to make it as bloody as possible because they didn't they wanted to scare us and against invading the home island.
- 9:20But he described things like they would no. There was, of course, mountains, a volcanic mountain kind of situation, and they
- 9:29the Japs had built
- 9:31brush
- 9:33piles of brush and long rows from the top of the mountains clear down to the beach. Just
- 9:39dozens of these brush piles. And then,
- 9:43in the evening,
- 9:45they light them on a fire
- 9:48so that when the kamikaze planes come over the top of the volcano,
- 9:52they would use those coals and that fire to
- 9:56guide them as they just come barreling down through there like a rocket sled on rails and and try to run into the amphibious
- 10:05craft that were on the beach. And, of course, they hit one, which they did because they were crowded on the beach,
- 10:11then, the craft would be stuck there, and it couldn't go back and bring more men and supplies.
- 10:17And, that was the idea.
- 10:20And then he described these
- 10:23torpedoes.
- 10:24They did the same thing from the tops of the mountains,
- 10:28rails.
- 10:29And and they put torpedoes
- 10:31on rails, and they were gravity
- 10:34moved, and they'd come like rocket sleds on rails. They'd come barreling down Live. The mountains toward the beach. And, of course, then when they got to the beach, those torpedoes had
- 10:45they hit those ships, and and,
- 10:49they would,
- 10:50of course, plug up the beach, I You
- 10:52know, Brent, I've read a lot of
- 10:55Unknown: Guadalcanal
- 10:56diaries and chesty puller stuff and all that when I was younger. I have never heard what you just described in anything I've ever read about World War two in the Pacific Theater.
- 11:06Unknown: Well, that was with me, and I'd never of course, here's the bottom line.
- 11:11And we all know this. The only way you're really gonna get any reliable history of anything
- 11:16is firsthand.
- 11:18The the men that are that saw it with their eyes and and did it with their hands. And,
- 11:25that and that even in that case, you may not get the truth because men are pretty habitual liars and exaggerators and all that, you know. But we know when a guy gets to be a 100 years old now, I don't know. My my father was never bombastic.
- 11:41I I think he doesn't care
- 11:45to promote himself like maybe he would when he was younger and and magnify
- 11:50a story because it was a good story, which men do. They like to tell stories, you know.
- 11:55I never got that feeling. Matter of fact, now that my father's as old as he is, it's he's he becomes stoic
- 12:02and
- 12:03quiet,
- 12:05and he speaks when he's spoken to, that kind of a guy. Yeah. He'll answer questions, but he doesn't seem to volunteer a lot of well, the Bible says that.
- 12:14A wise a wise young man no. It says, wisdom
- 12:20is in the old gray head,
- 12:22and a wise young man will dredge it out. He'll dredge it. That means you gotta work at it. And I Yeah. Worked at it quite a bit, wrote it all down, just sitting in front of him. He he was like, I had this old fella at home, another shirttail cousin. We called him Doc Downey because he was a horse veterinarian.
- 12:41And that was pretty important position in a community that farmed the horses. And he was a World War one veteran,
- 12:50and he got machine gunned in the leg and he laid it out on the
- 12:55on no man's land, for a long time. Then they finally got he was on the on the field for two weeks with this machine gun leg. He had Oh my god.
- 13:04Yeah. And he signed up with Billy Atkins, who was a neighbor down there across from him. Billy Billy didn't get hurt, but he did. And then
- 13:13they finally got him to a French hospital, and and the French doctor said, listen.
- 13:19We got two choices here. We can cut your leg off. It's gangrene.
- 13:23Or
- 13:25we can put maggots in it and let them eat the infection out. Now and they said that he said, well, will they get all the infection? Oh, he said them maggots. They said them maggots will get all the infection. And, you know, Frenchmen are big on maggots and snails and other
- 13:39Unknown: loafers.
- 13:40They
- 13:41Unknown: are think they eat maggots.
- 13:43Unknown: Well, I wouldn't be surprised. You know, they eat snails and,
- 13:47dogs and other things. But at any rate
- 13:50but they were stoop but they're not stupid. I don't want anybody to think I'd say that, but they
- 13:55so
- 13:56Unknown: Depends on depends on who you ask. Go ahead.
- 14:00Unknown: But well, they here's what happened. So they said, but
- 14:04if we put the if we cut your leg off, you'll live. But if we put the maggots in there, they may get all the infection, but you may get a worst infection from the maggots, and that may kill you. So
- 14:17he opted for the maggots. He told me this. I he opted for the maggots. You know, they they raise maggots someplace in California now in a sterile environment. Yeah.
- 14:28I'm sure of that. I've heard them using it in medic medical day things. Oh, yeah. Oh, it works. It works. Well, any rate,
- 14:36Unknown: you know, we have dead people. Imagine excuse me. Let me just inter imagine the first guy that came up with that idea. Yeah. Go ahead. Pretty
- 14:43Unknown: smart. Well,
- 14:45you know, we got chickens here in the
- 14:47Wabash Valley. And finally, it dawned on me, you know, maggots chickens love maggots. I bet they do. Juicy. They have a way yeah. They have a way of processing them in a way that,
- 14:59the the eggs they produce, it doesn't it doesn't affect them. But chickens become
- 15:04very healthy
- 15:05on things like maggots, and,
- 15:08we just let them run loose around. And,
- 15:12the chicken lifespan of a chicken isn't that long, four or five years. And so chickens die, and they die pretty often.
- 15:20And
- 15:21and if they're if they're out in the open field and they're not up around the house or in the barns, I just leave them lay. Because, yeah, they'll they'll get maggots in the summertime, and the other chickens then can feed on them. That's the kind of thing that makes healthy chickens and healthy eggs, and by the way, good for people. I know that sounds odd, but the lord do work in strange and mysterious ways, and that's one of them.
- 15:43Other animals, I wouldn't you know, other animals that are that way, I I don't eat. But, anyway, dad was telling telling stories. Firsthand testimony means firsthand. That otherwise, it's not evidence. What's that, Roger? Oh, I don't think I got it out. You're you're reading my mail here, Brett.
- 16:02Unknown: You read my mind, I think.
- 16:05Down here, and I hate to interrupt you, but don't memory
- 16:08peg your story on your dad there. Over in the jungle,
- 16:13I haven't been over there, but I've seen videos and heard about it. Uh-huh.
- 16:17The Indians over there, they don't have much protein.
- 16:21And so what they eat is there's a big, like, a caterpillar
- 16:25kind of thing,
- 16:26not like a small maggot, but maybe about ten, fifteen times that big,
- 16:31and they grow on the inside of tree bark.
- 16:36And you'll see, I mean, it almost turn turn your stomach, but they love it. They rip that tree bark off and these little kids,
- 16:44three, four years old eating a handful of wiggling maggots, these caterpillars,
- 16:49and they love it, man, but that's about the only protein they can get.
- 16:54Wow. They can't hunt critters in the in the jungle? Well, I guess they do, but I just I don't know the whole story, but I've seen those videos of this cute little old girl eating a mouthful of these squirming things. It's just like you go yucco. You know?
- 17:08But, anyway, that flashed to my mind when you're talking about the maggots. So sorry. I didn't even say anything. It's like you read my mind, Brent. Go ahead and tell us about your dad.
- 17:19Unknown: Oh, what'd you say at the last, Roger? Go ahead and tell us about Oh, your yeah. So
- 17:25well, to a lot of these things, I I
- 17:28learned just growing up because I'd watch the old folks and listen to them talk, but then it was just the way things were. But, boy, you can go to the Internet now and get answers to questions from
- 17:39major agricultural
- 17:41universities,
- 17:41you know, some of these old land grant colleges around the Midwest and, well, out west. Yes. University
- 17:47of
- 17:49of Iowa and Illinois and Texas A and M and Mhmm. Idaho and Washington and
- 17:55and, well, Purdue, big ag school. And they got the stuff right on the Internet. I mean, the latest research, you know. You can look it up. So I'm having fun,
- 18:05doing
- 18:06that. But getting back to Okinawa,
- 18:09the Japs still call it the typhoon of steel.
- 18:14And,
- 18:15never in the history of mankind has there ever been such
- 18:19so much steel and lead in the air. Oh, I can imagine. Every given moment, twenty four hours a day,
- 18:27our April 1 till the June 22.
- 18:30That's, I think, the got the dates right.
- 18:34And all of the experiences
- 18:36and that he had well, I talked about some because it was the July 4. And I I like to quote people have asked me to come on July 4 to churches and whatnot and
- 18:46I have a they'll have a little memorial service and
- 18:49forth, and they'll say, well
- 18:52I started doing this when I was in politics. And they'll say, will you say something? And so then you gotta think of something intelligent to say if you can. And
- 19:02and what and, you know, when you talk,
- 19:05if you can,
- 19:07there is there is, the emotive part of our personalities
- 19:12is just as important as the intellectual part. You can't have one and not have the other. Otherwise, we'd be like that who was that Jewish fellow that played on
- 19:22Star Trek? He was from Doctor Spock?
- 19:25Yeah. Spock. He was totally totally void of emotion. Remember? His mind was like Right. Right.
- 19:32Well, that's not that's not humanness, and that won't get us anywhere. You gotta have everything god gave you.
- 19:38And there is a time to be motive.
- 19:40During the Yes.
- 19:42Yes. And during the July 4,
- 19:45I see that, and
- 19:46the words
- 19:48move us. There's no question about it, and it can get to our emotions.
- 19:53And so
- 19:54I thought, what can I say? My brother, I didn't wanna you know, if you're talk if you're at home, Roger,
- 20:00a man
- 20:02well, Jesus Christ said, a prophet has no
- 20:05no worth,
- 20:07no no
- 20:08honor
- 20:09in his own country.
- 20:10Nobody's gonna listen to him. Mhmm. And when I was back there for dad's thing, all those my relatives and my cousins and my kith and kin, as they say, they didn't take me serious. You know?
- 20:22Unknown: And But it's just old Brent.
- 20:25Unknown: What? It's just old Brent. Yeah. I just told Brent that we know him. We remember stuff about him that he wishes we didn't remember.
- 20:33Unknown: And he's been trying to forget.
- 20:36Unknown: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But but what they don't think of, I remember stuff about them too. See? Yeah. Right. It's reciprocal.
- 20:44Well, at any rate, I
- 20:45love being around them. And that's that's called your
- 20:48your kith and kin. You know them. They know you. You're not hiding anything. You know you can't.
- 20:55And,
- 20:56anyway so
- 20:58Dave, my older brother, had written up
- 21:02a tribute to my father, and I said, Dave, why don't you let me read that?
- 21:09And he kindly said, okay. I didn't know that he would. I just thought I'd like I wanted to read it. See? I wanted to read it. How far apart are you guys? Eighteen months. Okay. He's 18. Yeah. And he's a
- 21:23he's a a military man. He'd spent his life
- 21:27in the armed forces. And
- 21:31Unknown: He's a West Point guy, isn't he?
- 21:33Unknown: Annapolis.
- 21:35Annapolis. Yeah. Annapolis. So my bad. Yeah. He told me when I saw him this time, said, you know, Brent, I didn't I didn't know what college was. I didn't know what Annapolis was.
- 21:45My parents didn't tell me. Our parents didn't tell me.
- 21:49He said, I don't know how I wound up there except somebody said to me when I was young, I said what I you know, back then, Roger,
- 21:56you remember,
- 21:57a lot of the boy young boys wanted to be astronauts.
- 22:00Unknown: Sure.
- 22:01Unknown: Because, Sputnik went up and Chuck Yeager broke the sound barrier, and and my brother was was one of those boys. He was
- 22:10no. We knew and because he I was always just trying to tagging along with him, see.
- 22:16And, he knew who Chuck Yeager was. He knew how fast sound traveled. He was always scientific,
- 22:23and he wanted to he knew all the planets in outer space. And he when he was in high school, he went to science fairy, built a
- 22:31reflector telescope,
- 22:33and he ground you know, a reflector telescope has a giant mirror.
- 22:37Yes. You know? Yes. And great and they have a big opening mouth. And he
- 22:43ground
- 22:45the mirror by hand
- 22:47for that reflector telescope. He used Wow. A big chunk of
- 22:51I don't remember all the detail, but I learned a a lot about all these things because I was hanging with him. Uh-huh. He he was more of my education than I got in school by far.
- 23:03I didn't make good grades, but I learned a lot. I found out when I later
- 23:07well, neither one of us made good grades. And the reason we do didn't make good grades in school was because
- 23:13we were riding a bus for an hour into town and then ride it an hour out. Of course, you ride a school bus that long, you learn a lot of dirty jokes and you learn how to cuss and
- 23:26that's what school buses do for children. Yeah. You're you learn all those things that your parents don't wanna sit you down and tell you about. Yeah. And my granddad, he was a school teacher in the country schools, and he argued against it. And matter of fact, because of busing.
- 23:40This is a different issue than Uh-oh. Race. But
- 23:44my granddad, we had schools
- 23:46every six square miles where I lived. And
- 23:50that was a result this is
- 23:53strange historically, but it's true.
- 23:56That was the result of the Northwest Ordinance of 1787.
- 23:59Holy smokes. Because the Northwest Ordinance you know, there are four documents that congress says are
- 24:06that comprise
- 24:07our fundamental laws of Americans. Uh-huh. First one is the declaration of '76.
- 24:13Yes, sir. The second one is the articles of confederation,
- 24:18which is very much like our constitution of The United States, by the way, but different. It is different. Yes. I understand that. More centralized power.
- 24:26But then the third one is our constitution of The United States,
- 24:30and the fourth one is the Northwest Ordinance of seventeen and eighty seven for the governance of the territories North and West of the Ohio River, which, by the way, were Virginia.
- 24:42Mhmm. We don't learn much about American history anymore, but Virginia
- 24:47the land grant of Virginia, old Virginia, as they say in Virginia,
- 24:53encompassed
- 24:54all of Illinois
- 24:55or oh, well,
- 24:57Virginia, and then what is now West Virginia,
- 25:00Ohio,
- 25:02Indiana,
- 25:03Illinois,
- 25:04Michigan,
- 25:06and parts of Minnesota.
- 25:07That was Virginia.
- 25:09Mhmm. And Virginia,
- 25:11in an act of great magnanimity after that horrible war with Britain,
- 25:17ceded
- 25:18all of her western lands
- 25:20with the exception of what is now West Virginia,
- 25:24all of her western lands to the government of the United States to sell
- 25:29at $5 bigger
- 25:31to pay the war debt. I didn't know that.
- 25:34Unknown: Mhmm.
- 25:35Let me just so interrupt you for a second. Please hold your place for this for the audience, maybe the newer people.
- 25:41Where might I go find those, documents contiguously,
- 25:46listed?
- 25:47Unknown: Oh, well,
- 25:49there's a if you just type
- 25:51in the four organic documents, the congress called them. Mhmm. You just type in,
- 25:58and for somebody would just type in those documents and then type all the right up. Yeah. But there is a there's a few sites that are really good. I rec
- 26:07Unknown: I recognize them, but I can't remember him. Go ahead. I wasn't really going at that angle. I was going at
- 26:14I can go to the law library and open up volume one of the statutes,
- 26:18organic statutes at large, and those are the first four documents in that book. That's a set of organic law books. Do you not think that those things are still law and still apply?
- 26:30Unknown: Because you were using what I said as a pedantic
- 26:33opportunity
- 26:34to teach
- 26:35where people could find those. Yes. Yeah. And that that's good. I'm glad you brought that up. And, of course, people go to the Internet. You can probab Roger, I don't know. You can probably,
- 26:46go to that volume online, the one you just those volumes you just mentioned. I'm sure you can. Yeah. Yeah. But those are the four organic talk And
- 26:55Unknown: and and and the dialectic part, if they're not law, what are they doing in there?
- 27:01Unknown: A good point.
- 27:02And consistently,
- 27:03our courts have denied
- 27:06that our declaration of 76
- 27:08has an illegal force.
- 27:10How do you explain that? I don't know. The ignorant
- 27:13judges.
- 27:14Or or
- 27:16Unknown: it's a and they just don't wanna pay attention to it. Yeah. Women women judges that don't know what a woman is.
- 27:23Unknown: Well, if they knew what a woman were was, they might not be a judge. Don't They'd
- 27:28be having babies and enjoying life. But No. I don't if they're supposed to. That way. What's that? She'd make a far better mother than a Supreme Court justice is my suspicion.
- 27:38Who? The one that's on the Supreme Court now? Jackson. This one that wrote this. Jackson.
- 27:42Well, that other one. What's that other name? Oh, there's four of them. They're wackos.
- 27:48Unknown: Now, you know, I don't know that we talked about this last week. I don't wanna get you off if you had a point to your story,
- 27:54but it is being rumored
- 27:56that miss
- 27:58oh, who's the white woman of that bunch?
- 28:02The the one that Conan Barrett that Trump has even come out and said he's sorry he appointed, by the way. Don't know if you heard that or not. Oh, I I did hear that. Well, Amy, her name, they would call her. Amy. Amy Conan. Yeah. Amy saw
- 28:14or was told
- 28:15about a billboard in Texas from Mexican
- 28:19company that for $4,000,
- 28:21you can get your, you know, get your child an American citizen born in there. And they had not considered or knew evidently
- 28:29about either this bunch out of Mexico, no telling what other countries.
- 28:34But I believe there's 500
- 28:36of them in China.
- 28:38And all they do is fly over to an island that's in the Guam group. Now you've probably been over there around Guam.
- 28:46There's an island over there that's US territory,
- 28:49and they fly them over. 500 companies have the child child's United States citizen.
- 28:54And, evidently, these judges had not thought that the fact that what they were doing was ill was legalizing
- 29:01this type of situation and trade.
- 29:03And, evidently, that got her attention. Don't know as what what I'm hearing.
- 29:08What she's saying about it? Well, they wanna reconsider the opinion.
- 29:12And rather than call it and reconsider
- 29:15this one, but but whatever the
- 29:17the I can't remember the style of the case. There's another two or three cases on the same topic
- 29:24that they could go back and rule on and over overrule
- 29:28the one that they just did. So we'll see. It'll go into the next term, no doubt.
- 29:34Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Now I wanted to ask another political question by any chance.
- 29:40Did you see the rather short twenty eight minute, speech by,
- 29:45DT,
- 29:46mister Trump last night?
- 29:48Unknown: No. But I count on you to give me an accurate and intelligent Hold on.
- 29:54Unknown: You know, I almost didn't watch it, quite frankly. Guys, you you you know, well, I could just I I could wait twenty minutes and come back and hear him say the opposite. It's what I feel like. You know? It's been flip
- 30:06flopping so much, but I did. I went over and watched it in Alex's commentary on it, and most of the whole thing
- 30:14was on elections.
- 30:17And, boy, he fingered China
- 30:19last night big time.
- 30:21Oh. Proof they've got a meddling with the twenty twenty election. Other CIA people they've got proof of. Do you know about the burn bags they found?
- 30:31Somewhere in the catacombs of the FBI building, they found a, several
- 30:36burn bags that were supposed to be burned and weren't from the Obama
- 30:40time frame.
- 30:41They have a lot of this stuff in it.
- 30:44Yeah. So they're talking about that.
- 30:48Anyways, mainly, Salvos over China and interesting
- 30:53sidebar.
- 30:55Neither NBC or ABC carried it.
- 30:59Say again? Neither NBC
- 31:02nor
- 31:03ABC
- 31:04carried the talk speech.
- 31:06Well, they don't matter anymore anyway. Nobody listens, do they? Well, they matter, in fact, that when they didn't didn't carry it, should say something.
- 31:15Yep. They're the ones that want him to talk to go bomb the other side of the damn world into oblivion, but they don't wanna hear this?
- 31:22They they, obviously, you know, they've advised to the contents, and they backed out the last minute. I just thought it's interesting.
- 31:32So, anyway, that went on last night, and,
- 31:35you know, the other things, you're
- 31:38Brent being a political animal in his past.
- 31:41I don't know that you ever shake it.
- 31:45But the situation with mister Graham and them appointing his sister as a sitting senator from South Carolina
- 31:53and also
- 31:54the,
- 31:55the,
- 31:57Mitch McConnell situation. Do you know about all that stuff or not? I know that
- 32:02Unknown: I thought Mitch died or something. Well, he's we don't know.
- 32:05Oh,
- 32:06Unknown: he's been he well, in the middle of June, he went to the George Washington
- 32:12hospital
- 32:13with some kind of seizure or something, and he's been sequestered or his body's been sequestered or they moved the dam
- 32:21with a a couple of refrigerators
- 32:23sitting there and got him corpse.
- 32:26I don't know. They don't know, and here's the problem.
- 32:30If they he dies right now and they find out he's dead up until August 3,
- 32:35it's an open front. It's an open run for the state, and here is mister,
- 32:41mister 4th District there that just got bumped out of the house
- 32:45and being very popular in the state, in the statewide run,
- 32:49he could probably scoot right into that senate seat in about two shakes of a lamb's tail. And they, of course, don't want that. So they're trying to stall it till August third third, and then they can name an election. But redo it, set up an election. So we don't know this mister McConnell's
- 33:06situation.
- 33:07There was a picture yesterday of his wife who, by the way, three days after the attack in June, took off to China. Yeah. And I didn't even know she was back, but evidently, she is back or there's an AI picture of them together,
- 33:21yesterday,
- 33:22and there's all kinds of stuff flying around about this up there as you can imagine.
- 33:28And what did, what? The house passed that save act?
- 33:32Couple of real pending legislations that Thune and and McConnell here are holding up, and one of them is this. Let's have some ID to vote, folks.
- 33:41Along the lines of of of Trump's
- 33:44speech last night on voting and elections and straightening that out and how bad it needs to be done and how screwed up it's been in the past and specific examples
- 33:55of of of how they've been doing it and and and all that kind of stuff. So it was a very short speech, but to the point.
- 34:04Unknown: Uh-huh.
- 34:05You know, it's almost like
- 34:07well, what it is like, the government
- 34:09is insanity.
- 34:10It's madness. It is. And the people in it, they get the longer you're there, the crazier you get. The the more stupid you look Uh-huh. The more insane.
- 34:19Uh-huh. And we're out here we're out here living life and trying to be productive in various ways,
- 34:26and we're watching them
- 34:27act like clown. It's clown town. No question. Baboons.
- 34:31And now
- 34:33Unknown: They can shift reality,
- 34:36and then we have to follow.
- 34:38And that's what they try and do is lead you in the populace over the cliff by this illusion that they think is reality because they got those powers, and they can shift it. Now here's
- 34:50something that just hit me, Brent. I'm glad we got off on this trail right here.
- 34:55I think
- 34:56I finally
- 34:58understand
- 34:59the whole base technique of what these guys are doing and this term resident.
- 35:05K?
- 35:06Unknown: So if you go to Webster
- 35:08Unknown: Wait a minute, Roger. I thought you under you got that untangled a long time ago. Well, I you know, you might have thought so, and I might have thought I did, but I really understand it a level deeper than I ever have before. And that's only recently.
- 35:21K? Okay. So let me run this. I've talked to the audience about it here. Let me run this past to you.
- 35:27So you go to Webster's dictionary and you go look under residence.
- 35:30There's two definitions. There's a geographical one, then the second one's the same definition says, for the receipt of a benefit or the discharge of a duty.
- 35:40Uh-huh. So that's the legal one, obviously. I remember when I was still real researching, lived in the Marietta, I went up to the Cobb County Library
- 35:49one one day and went and looked because I learned about words and phrases.
- 35:53And so I went up there, looked into words and phrases, and the word resident, there was an excerpt of a
- 36:00case in there. It said whenever the word resident is used in a legal context,
- 36:06its definition is always
- 36:08legal.
- 36:09Okay.
- 36:10So that pinpoints it a little bit more.
- 36:13And so it appears this is what they're doing.
- 36:16They are using the original definition of residency from ambassadorial
- 36:21law where the question is,
- 36:23what set of laws do you live under?
- 36:26It's not where you live. It's what set of laws do you live under. There's there's your political and legal aspect of it.
- 36:33So all these places they put it, like all this IRS stuff where they've got that as the critical tie down,
- 36:40because that when you get into you
- 36:42can argue and exchange letters all gonna get right down to that eventually.
- 36:47You're denying it. There's law says you can deny it, and they're trying to pin it on you, but they're trying to pin the geographical
- 36:55definition on you. Oh, you're in the state here. Your kids are in school. You got this. You got that. Well, those are all man made
- 37:03ways
- 37:04to tie you into that. But the one no matter how hard you contradict it,
- 37:09they
- 37:11they come back and they're using this one underneath that's ambassadorial.
- 37:15That's why they don't ever ask you, are you a resident of Indiana?
- 37:19Are you a resident of Illinois or Texas? You never see a state attached to that question.
- 37:24It's just, are you a resident? It's always going back to the fourteenth amendment. But I think that's what the crux
- 37:31of their whole plan is right there.
- 37:33Is what? Is tying you down to this definition
- 37:38that you think is geographical
- 37:40but is political and legal.
- 37:43Unknown: Oh, well, the yeah. You make a point, Roger. The feds
- 37:46the geographics don't mean anything to them,
- 37:49in the federal mindset,
- 37:51but the state's geography
- 37:53a geography not no. Not geography. That's really the wrong use of the word. Geography is not about an area of land as much as it is about other things. But we're talking about bounded
- 38:05territoriality,
- 38:06I guess, maybe is the best way to say it. The feds don't care about that,
- 38:10but the states do. And states' rights are founded upon bounded territoriality.
- 38:15Unknown: Is that what you're driving at? Well, kinda, but the state never ask you, hey, Brent, are you a resident of Indiana?
- 38:22Just ask you if you're a resident.
- 38:24Unknown: Yes. But that's because the feds have had so much in the federal mindset has had so much influence that the states,
- 38:31don't that's why I say I say we must speak with the right words. And if we don't, we get sucked into we get we get sucked into the the evil empire. Well, God spoke the world in existence. He certainly didn't use the wrong words.
- 38:47No. And he insists that we do. See, that's why, Noah Webster,
- 38:52know, people talk about, oh, his 1828
- 38:54dictionary and all that. Well, Noah Webster,
- 38:57there was a reason for that dictionary that's never mentioned. I don't know why. I guess the truth is always buried,
- 39:04but this is the truth of the matter about that eighteen twenty eight dictionary.
- 39:08He had finished,
- 39:10doing his own translation of the Bible
- 39:13from the original tongues called the Webster translation. I have a copy of it. You can get a copy. Go to the Internet. Webster translation of the Bible. Well, after he did that, he thought he had that under his belt. He said, in America,
- 39:26we need an English
- 39:28that is tied to the Bible,
- 39:31the concepts
- 39:33of the words of the Bible.
- 39:35And he thought he had accurately
- 39:37translated
- 39:38the Bible. He spent years doing it, of course. It takes decades.
- 39:42And then he said, I've got these concepts. I know what English words encapsulate
- 39:48the Greek and Hebrew concepts.
- 39:51I'll I want our English words,
- 39:54the definitions of our English words to be the definitions
- 39:57that God
- 39:59gives these words in his concepts in the Bible.
- 40:03And that eighteen twenty eight dictionary,
- 40:05the the purpose behind it was to set a standard of definitions for words in English
- 40:13that
- 40:14comport
- 40:15with the Bible's concepts.
- 40:17That's the whole idea.
- 40:19And what and if there's anybody that has authority
- 40:22to define words, it is God.
- 40:25And I agree with Daniel Webster about that. I agree strongly.
- 40:29And if we understand reality,
- 40:32we will do it with words, and we'll express it with words. And we if our words are God's understandings of the concepts those words communicate,
- 40:41then we have more of the mindset of our creator.
- 40:45That was his idea. Have you
- 40:48Unknown: obviously looked at a few of those? Have you seen the one?
- 40:52I've taught one time on the web. I've never when I went back there, I don't get the same one, but there was one where at the bottom of the definition of the word, he would write a note. It's like kinda like,
- 41:03Schofield.
- 41:05He'd write a note at the bottom of the definition. Right? Yeah. And, so I felt the listener called in and said what they're doing is equivocation.
- 41:13So I went, looked at the word, and that's one of the places I visited, of course. And at the bottom, there was a note.
- 41:21And it said, this trick or technique is often used by non Christians to trick Christians.
- 41:28Unknown: Now what are you reading there when you read that? Daniel's
- 41:31Unknown: Oh, Webster.
- 41:32Eight dictionary
- 41:34and the word and definition of equivocation,
- 41:37and he gives the definition.
- 41:39And at the bottom, he says, this technique is often used by
- 41:43to trick Christians.
- 41:45Unknown: And throughout woven throughout the warp and the woof of the text of the context of the Bible from cover to cover and lid to lid
- 41:52is
- 41:53that
- 41:55technique
- 41:57demonstrated
- 41:58everywhere.
- 41:59And it starts
- 42:00in the first
- 42:02narrative
- 42:03recorded in the Bible with the
- 42:05snake, Hath God said? He said to our grandma Eve,
- 42:09Hath God said? That's the King James translation,
- 42:12which is really
- 42:14the Hebrew, did he really say that or did he mean this?
- 42:19That's the idea. And then he says,
- 42:22well,
- 42:23surely,
- 42:24surely
- 42:25the the snake says, surely,
- 42:28god didn't mean that.
- 42:31He meant something else by what he said. Now there's two things here going on. And the Paul the apostle
- 42:37references this on three levels in the New Testament in three progressive terms. He he says to Timothy,
- 42:43he
- 42:44said, while I'm gone, give he was on the Isle Of Crete, by the way. He said, give, give attention
- 42:51to reading
- 42:53the Bible.
- 42:55That's what it says.
- 42:57And then he says give attention
- 43:00to
- 43:01teaching it,
- 43:03and that's what it means by what it says.
- 43:06And then thirdly, he's he uses a Greek word that means then give examples of how it applies. There are three things with the the law of God.
- 43:15All of the Bible is is intended to communicate
- 43:19various ways that use in all sorts of genres of literature
- 43:23what god wants,
- 43:25and what the sovereign wants
- 43:27is his law.
- 43:28As a fact, whoever you take for your sovereign. Well,
- 43:32I've heard men say oh, I'll tell you who I heard say this, Roger. You'll you know him. Or, yeah, you've met him. Pete Peters.
- 43:39Unknown: Pete. Have met I did meet him when he was alive, shook his hand, and I'm quite honored to say that. And let me tell you, one of my friends, they got some Roger. Roger. Roger. Roger. Yeah.
- 43:49You're cocked and loaded to talk, so you go ahead and talk, but I gotta try to remember and finish that story, but go ahead. Please do. I was just gonna say, my friend in Panama City that helped get, you know, helped me get crap out of the family home. He said, oh, by the way, I got these four or five Eustace Mullins books, and they're all autographed to you.
- 44:07Unknown: Uh-huh. So,
- 44:08Unknown: oh, you know, like, there's a couple of, you know, the secrets of federal reserve and the rape of justice and Oh, yeah. Couple of those other ones, and I said, well, you go ahead and keep them. Okay?
- 44:17But I was quite proud to hear that. Go ahead. I'm back on yes. I met p pastor Peters personally in Nashville, Tennessee
- 44:25at, the
- 44:26Christian Broadcasting
- 44:28Unknown: Convention. Yeah. He always went to that, and he was on shortwave and radio and TV and all that. But, anyway and Pete said this, and I I took issue with I take issue with him. He's gone now. Yes. But I admire him too. He really tried hard to teach the Bible, and I'm trying hard, and I know how hard it is and trying to get points across. But
- 44:49Pete said, when
- 44:51you read the Bible,
- 44:53you need to ask yourself what it means. That's what's important.
- 44:57And I said, now dog doggone it, Pete. No. I know that's important. Yes. That's the getting toward the end end of the thing, which is application,
- 45:05which is really the most important thing.
- 45:07But you gotta get the other two steps right first, and you can never here's what I'm driving at.
- 45:12You can never know
- 45:14what any writing of legal significance means, and that's what the Bible is, unless you're first asked,
- 45:21what does it say?
- 45:22I mean, if Jesus Christ
- 45:24yeah. Or Jesus Christ said, for example,
- 45:27I am the door.
- 45:30Does Jesus Christ is he made of wood? Does he have hinges?
- 45:34No.
- 45:35But if you don't understand what a door is and take it for what it says
- 45:40flat literally,
- 45:42you'll never understand what he means
- 45:44by what he says because all
- 45:47languages at every point, every word, every letter are symbols.
- 45:53Every letter and every language is a symbol even. And every word is a symbol. And everything that is said is a symbol.
- 46:00And so if you don't take it if I tell you, Roger,
- 46:04I'm ticked and I'm gonna clean your plow.
- 46:07Well, if you don't know what a plow is and you don't know what cleaning a plow is, you really don't know what I'm saying.
- 46:13Or I'm gonna clean your clock. Now there's another one.
- 46:17Alright. I'm gonna
- 46:19well, we have all sorts of symbolic.
- 46:21Yeah. Metaphors? Are those is that a metaphor? Well, yeah, one thing is symbolic to another. Metaphors, similes
- 46:29Mhmm. And the parables of Jesus Christ.
- 46:32Now, Jesus Christ said, well, the kingdom of heaven is like a man that bought a field.
- 46:37A kingdom of he didn't say the kingdom of heaven is a field.
- 46:40He said it's like a man that bought a field. Well, if you don't know what a field is, you'll never understand
- 46:45because all symbols go from the
- 46:48what is known
- 46:50to the listener
- 46:52and taken him then to the unknown
- 46:54that he he can know because
- 46:56he's analogizing.
- 46:58If I say, well,
- 47:01Unknown: and well, no. Not Finish that one. Finish that one. Kingdom
- 47:05Unknown: of heaven is like a field. Like a field. And a man finds a treasure. He's out in the field. He's plowing,
- 47:12and he flips something up that reveals that something's buried there by some somebody buried something that
- 47:19is worth a lot of money. Well, he says if he finds that,
- 47:24he said, that man
- 47:26will go out and do whatever he has to do to buy that field, he won't tell anybody.
- 47:31He'll buy the field.
- 47:33And,
- 47:34yeah, he'll do that because he has found something valuable. He will give everything he has to get something that's worth more.
- 47:42We used to say in the mining business, people would be, If you're down digging, got a shovel, and you're digging in a, we call them a coyote hole in the side of a hill, we were in Arizona, Nevada,
- 47:53and if you see a gold nugget,
- 47:55you'll throw that shovel down. You'll be on your hands and knees.
- 47:59You won't be paying attention to rattlesnakes or scorpions or anything, and you'll be using your bare bare fingers to the making them bloody to the bone and scraping away dirt trying to find more.
- 48:11Because you found something valuable, you won't tell anybody, and you'll stake a claim on that property.
- 48:17Well, that's what Jesus Christ is saying. He's making the point that the kingdom of heaven is something that when you discover it and you see the value of it, you'll you'll forfeit everything to get it. He even went so far as to say
- 48:32violent men
- 48:33violent men
- 48:35enter the kingdom of heaven.
- 48:36What does he mean? He means men that want it so bad. The old saying goes,
- 48:42if you don't want it bad enough to cheat for it, you don't want it very bad. Okay.
- 48:47Well and that's pretty much what Jacob did almost.
- 48:51When Jacob
- 48:52talked to his brother, his foolish brother, Esau,
- 48:55into selling his birthright
- 48:57for a a bowl of porridge,
- 49:01He didn't cheat him.
- 49:03He didn't cheat him. And even at common law, a peppercorn, whatever you wanna trade for, even if it is not
- 49:10equal,
- 49:11is not even close. You can do it if you want to. If I wanna buy your you wanna sell your your car for a dollar, you can do that. I know people have done things like that. Mhmm.
- 49:21But that's what Jacob did. People say,
- 49:24he he cheated his brother. He didn't.
- 49:27His brother knew what he was doing, and his brother didn't care.
- 49:31And so he he purchased
- 49:33the kingdom of god and the birthright itself.
- 49:37The everything
- 49:38that was attended to it for a bowl of porridge. Go ahead. In this case, it's let the seller beware.
- 49:45Yes. That that's true. And and that is good law, and that's, from common law contract,
- 49:52caveat emptor.
- 49:53You enter it at arm's length. You look out for yourself. If the other guy wants to wants to sell it for nothing, that's his business. Now and then that's different, of course, than the and trust law, which figures into the Bible heavily on the other side, but which, you pay it your object and trust law or fiduciary
- 50:13contracts says you're supposed to look out for the other fellow more than yourself. Agency
- 50:18agency contract,
- 50:20trust settlement,
- 50:21things like that. But getting back to
- 50:24getting back to words, it's all a matter of words. And if you want it bad enough, you'll do whatever you have to have to get it. I mean, Jesus Christ even went so far as to say,
- 50:36as to the kingdom of God, mothers
- 50:40and fathers will turn on children, and children will turn on mothers and fathers, and mother mother in laws will turn on daughters, and
- 50:49family doesn't matter anymore as strong as family is, and it's strong according to the Bible.
- 50:55But when it comes to a choice between family
- 50:57and Jesus the Christ and his kingdom,
- 51:01he doesn't he doesn't give us any room to wiggle. No. You gotta go with Jesus the Christ. They came to him, you know, when the crowd was pressing on him and said,
- 51:11your mother and your brothers are out here, they wanna talk to you.
- 51:15This is Mary, the virgin, you know.
- 51:18He said, who is my mother and who are my brothers?
- 51:22He said, my mother and brothers are those who trust me. Essentially, that's what he's driving at. And he said, my mother, if she trusts me as savior,
- 51:30yeah.
- 51:31But the his point was to he was using a little bit of hyperbole to make a point here. He took care of his mother.
- 51:37I mean, even when they nailed him to a post naked, he
- 51:40he,
- 51:41made
- 51:42provision. He spoke and made provision for his mother.
- 51:45I don't want to demean that at all, but to worship her and say she's a co redemptress
- 51:50is demonic,
- 51:52utterly demonic.
- 51:53And a lot of the world in so called Christa Dumb,
- 51:57like a D U M B, does that.
- 51:59And there are those listening right now that have been in that system all their life. Get out of it while you can. Go ahead, Roger. Well, yes. I agree. Of course, you know the situation. I'm down here. We told some of those stories. I did wanna ask you, however,
- 52:12Unknown: if you happen to see the interview with Jay Dyer, I don't know if you know who he is,
- 52:18with, Tucker Carlson earlier this week. Have you happened on that? I started, but I didn't I didn't see much of it. So, yeah, give me the overall gist. Well, I I don't know that I can. I mean, was a comparison of an an analysis
- 52:32of orthodoxy
- 52:34of the Orthodox Church, and and Jay Dyer's,
- 52:38he's super smart. He's very well read. He reads their books. He's very articulate.
- 52:43He's been on this search
- 52:45for his own spirituality,
- 52:47originally Baptist since he was in high school. Yeah. Yeah. And he goes through all that and the differences, and Tucker is
- 52:54really curious. He's really digging down into this with the questions he was asking. And quite frankly, a lot of it was over my head, let's say.
- 53:04I just did I didn't care to listen intellectually to figure out detail by detail what they're saying. So I just had half listened. You know? I get it. I get it, Roger. And and
- 53:16Unknown: we're all this way to varying degrees. Even if people are good teachers, there's some of them I just can't listen to. They irritate me or or I'm just not drawn it's a personality thing. You know? I like Jay Dyer. I've seen him a lot on Alex Jones on Fridays. Okay. Yeah. He's quite a guy, a very well read. I mean
- 53:36Unknown: Mhmm. Their books, obscure
- 53:38stuff. He's been doing it for decades,
- 53:41you know, written a couple of books himself on
- 53:43Hollywood, this, that, and the other. But that's what it was about. If
- 53:47if that blows your dress up, then, that's a a way as good a interview on as you'll ever hear, I would think.
- 53:54Unknown: Well, orthodoxy has gotten real strong and so has Romanism. Romanism now has
- 53:59and these are these are Satan's masterpieces
- 54:03because they have the Christian label.
- 54:05They claim to adhere to some of the fundamentals of Christianity as a matter of logic and theology.
- 54:11But they're false, utterly false.
- 54:13And they're utterly false for this reason,
- 54:16because they say that there's something you can do to make yourself born
- 54:20of the spirit.
- 54:22And there isn't. Never has been. Not in the Old Testament, not in the New Testament.
- 54:26That's God's work a 190%.
- 54:28As you get older, you may recognize it as I recognized one time. I said, I recognize figured out who my mother and father were, you know, pretty young. I I find dad, dad, mama, you know, that happens sooner or later. But when you're born of the flesh, you don't know that. And you you've heard me say that. Others have heard me say. This is simple. This is why Jesus Christ used that analogy.
- 54:51But you can have and there's a lot of Protestant groups that way too. They've got it all right, except they deny the sovereignty of God and who made them.
- 55:00And who gives the new birth? And who's by by whose will are they born? Theirs or God's?
- 55:06It says in for in John chapter one, John's the cleanup pitter.
- 55:10Know, we got four gospels.
- 55:13Three of them knock they get on base. John comes along
- 55:17and knocks it out of the park. Uh-huh. So you have Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Matthew writes to the Jews, the Jew the Hebrews,
- 55:25and he wanted his idea there is is oh, our target audience is to prove
- 55:30Unknown: now, Roger, I did you need to say something? Oh, I just had an epiphany, but go on. I'll add it and do it. I'll add We'll take a break.
- 55:38Unknown: Oh, I'm afraid you'll forget it. Go ahead.
- 55:40Unknown: I was stumbling on looking for something to watch the other night, and this one of these videos is a little looks like a oriental
- 55:48or orator
- 55:50and is in-depth
- 55:51on DNA stuff
- 55:53and how what they couldn't have ever even hoped to figure out
- 55:58thirty years ago that it's just like all these technological
- 56:02revelations
- 56:03and improvements are giving them tremendous power.
- 56:06And so there's several things I wanna say about that. So,
- 56:12he's, dang it. Now I lost my
- 56:14Oh. He's talking about oh, no. He's talking about that and pinpointing
- 56:18all this. He says, we can't trace.
- 56:20I think I mentioned this last time it came up. You can't trace the Jewish
- 56:25DNA
- 56:26on the maternal
- 56:28side
- 56:29because every time they do, it traces back to about four or five gentile women in Europe.
- 56:35Okay? Well, most all of them yeah. Go ahead. But but but he said so we went over on the y line,
- 56:42and they started tracing the y line. It's much more defined,
- 56:46and he went even to an overview map of the Levant
- 56:50and showed the different areas where some of it came from because they're very tribal and the men didn't
- 56:57go outside of the tribe to reproduce.
- 57:00But he outright
- 57:02called them Canaanites.
- 57:03He said, these are Canaanites
- 57:05and there's no doubt. Okay? And gave all the reasons why I might just I kinda sat up. I went, wow. Okay?
- 57:12Now, the other thing,
- 57:14you you'll probably want to acquire this book,
- 57:18and I think you'll for sure wanna see the interview, Brent.
- 57:21Let me look at my clock here. Yeah. We got time.
- 57:25On, Greg Hunter's USA watchdog last Wednesday,
- 57:30He interviewed
- 57:32Dalesh D'Souza Duresh D'Souza. Yeah. He's got a you know about that? He's got a book. Oh, he's got a book coming out. He was promoting it called this the stones cry out or something. And what he's done in that book, he's Christian,
- 57:46is go back and prove the Bible.
- 57:49And he's the one example that he used on the air. He said there's others, and then there's some he didn't go into, but this one was one he used as an example.
- 57:58They have found
- 58:00that in the area of modern day Israel,
- 58:04that there was reference in the Bible to selling slaves,
- 58:08and the price was 20 shekels.
- 58:11Mhmm. And so they went back comparable time frame this ability to research
- 58:16and found in Egypt a mention of a slave market, and the price of a slave was 20 shekels.
- 58:22So in essence, you could say that was a fair market value at the time. Mhmm. Just an example he gave, but you you might wanna listen. The interview is pretty good.
- 58:31Unknown: D'Souza is I think he was educated
- 58:34at,
- 58:35the Harvard of
- 58:38well, I I He but well,
- 58:41Unknown: he he go ahead. And and Greg Hunter asked him, said, well, you're this is all Christianity stuff. You're an Indian.
- 58:47And he said, I come from a line of Christians in India that was founded in the fourteen hundreds when some Christians came over and founded a little sect
- 58:57there, and that's my people. So he is originally
- 59:02Christian. Anyways, good interview. I think it got by the book looked good.
- 59:06Probably some other stuff in there, but he said, inherently,
- 59:09just like you said, everything in the bible's true. You can't disprove any of it because they've tried.
- 59:16Unknown: Well, yeah, the it's called yeah. That's right, Roger. The doctrine of inerrancy.
- 59:21It's an ancient doctrine, and it's clear.
- 59:24I quote,
- 59:25Harvard professor
- 59:27Joel Cadbury,
- 59:29who was a Quaker,
- 59:30and I believe he was a communist. A lot of Quakers turned communist because they don't the Bible doesn't mean that much to them, and it didn't mean anything to Cadbury, but he was professor
- 59:39at Harvard Seminary.
- 59:40Unknown: Okay. Oh, we got an hour up. We got well, we got a little top of the hour thingy here. You can go dingle your dangle in the little room if you need to and all that. Paul's gonna talk to us here in just a short short and we're gonna hear some classical music and we'll be back with Cadbury.
- 59:58Unknown: How about that? Thank you for joining us for the Radio Ranch with Roger Sails on

- 1:01:46And we're back.
- 1:01:48Unknown: Alright. Brent, before you launch off on Cadbury, this came to me a minute ago,
- 1:01:53and I wanted to make sure at least you knew about it. Do you, know about Paul, our mutual friend, Paul English's latest endeavor?
- 1:02:01No.
- 1:02:02Well,
- 1:02:03he's had set up several of these networks along the way, and he stumbled into an idea.
- 1:02:08And what Paul, are you right there? Why don't you tell Brent about it? You probably know more about it than I do.
- 1:02:15Are you are there are Talking about what? Food for latest?
- 1:02:21Unknown: Yeah, yeah, okay.
- 1:02:25Food for Thought Radio,
- 1:02:28fftradio.com,
- 1:02:31I believe it is.
- 1:02:33What it is, is it's a program that
- 1:02:36revolves around all things food and farming and
- 1:02:41political
- 1:02:42effects on food and
- 1:02:45growing things and stuff like that.
- 1:02:48It's a new project and
- 1:02:52there's Paul is picking up a bunch of different,
- 1:02:56different hosts.
- 1:02:57It's live shows.
- 1:03:00It's, hosted in The UK
- 1:03:04or over in England
- 1:03:06and,
- 1:03:08they're still looking for,
- 1:03:11somebody to take over the,
- 1:03:13broadcast schedule
- 1:03:15during the day here
- 1:03:18because
- 1:03:20right now they're just running from,
- 1:03:23sometime in the morning to midnight,
- 1:03:26UK time. UK. Mhmm.
- 1:03:28Unknown: Ain't that a good soft spot food for thought right now with all of this impending,
- 1:03:34effects
- 1:03:35all over the place, like no fertilizer
- 1:03:38and billions of people with no way to grow food and things like that?
- 1:03:43I just thought he may have really hit a home run here. So good on you.
- 1:03:47Unknown: You knew about it, Brent. No. But he hasn't got isn't got got It's in the works. It's in the works. Oh, well, now I'm I'm excited about what he's doing. I'm glad you told me. Man, wanted to make sure you know. Now back to mister Cadbury, if we could, please, on the inerrancy of the bibble.
- 1:04:03The bibble?
- 1:04:05Henry Joel Cadbury.
- 1:04:06It's it's just odd. People are odd. I, of course, I'm probably odd, and people are I don't know it. You know? But Henry Joel Cadbury was a Quaker,
- 1:04:15but he was an agnostic Quaker. That's the way he styled himself.
- 1:04:19Of course, I'm saying, well, why why call yourself some sect of Christian when you don't you're not even sure that god exists?
- 1:04:27Just odd.
- 1:04:28Yes. But he but there's no question. The man knew his Bible. That's
- 1:04:32Unknown: what you call covering all your bases. Go ahead. Yes.
- 1:04:36Unknown: It's inconsistent stupidity,
- 1:04:38but he knew the Bible because he's a professor of the Bible. I'd put him in that category. Paul the apostle says that there are a lot of
- 1:04:45people with punky professors and dinky doctors, and they know more than
- 1:04:51than any man ought to be allowed to be not to know. And they're real smart, and they got facts packed into their head,
- 1:04:58but they never come to a knowledge of the truth. That's the way but Cadbury wasn't stupid. He did say this.
- 1:05:05He didn't believe it. He didn't believe the Bible was inerrant. He believed the Bible had errors, but he didn't do it well, he taught it.
- 1:05:12But he said, if you're going to follow this is fascinating.
- 1:05:15He said, if you're going to follow Jesus Christ,
- 1:05:19he said, you're gonna be an inerrantist because without question, Jesus Christ
- 1:05:24was an inerrantist.
- 1:05:26He believed the Bible didn't have any errors of fact, and you can see it from his statements in many different ways.
- 1:05:33Well, that's what Cadbury and it's true. And I just famous
- 1:05:36statements Jesus Christ made, Every jot and every tittle shall come to pass of this law.
- 1:05:43And, do not add to, do not take away from Deuteronomy,
- 1:05:47Book of Revelation,
- 1:05:48and other places.
- 1:05:50And the Bible presents itself that way, but but
- 1:05:53he had to believe in order to say that.
- 1:05:56He had to believe that what Jesus Christ says is reliable.
- 1:06:00In other words, here's the ultimate question in life.
- 1:06:04The way you can frame it, you can frame it in different ways. This is one way.
- 1:06:09Are the gospel records true? Are they reliable?
- 1:06:13If they're reliable, you better fall down with your nostrils in the dirt is what you better do. If they're not reliable, well, no, it doesn't make any difference. I ask people, why do you why are you a Christian? No. I believe the Bible. Well, why do you believe the Bible?
- 1:06:27I mean, have you got there's a lot of ancient writings out there that claim to be god's word. A lot of them going back to India to the Veda and the Book of Mormon and the and the, all the the the
- 1:06:42traditions
- 1:06:43and the writings of the Romanists,
- 1:06:45they claim all that's,
- 1:06:47inspired.
- 1:06:48When the popes big ex cathedra
- 1:06:50from the chair, well, that's without error, they clam. On and on you could go all around the world. It's always the same. But why would anybody accept something like that
- 1:07:02on anything but solid,
- 1:07:04Unknown: irrefutable evidence? Totally agree.
- 1:07:07Unknown: Yeah. And if you're saying, well, the Bible says it's inherent,
- 1:07:11and it is true, as someone counted, some about 3,000
- 1:07:15times,
- 1:07:16you can point to the and claims,
- 1:07:19that it's telling the truth.
- 1:07:21Well, we would expect it to do that. Anybody that gets on the witness stand, we want them to swear that they're telling the truth.
- 1:07:29That's where you start.
- 1:07:31But that's not enough. Mhmm. There has to be two testimonies, the Bible says. The law of God itself says that. Our common law observes that. Every good trial lawyer, every trial lawyer that's worth his salt, will tell you, well, you know, you get to the end of I've been in cases where you as a criminal prosecution, you get to the end, and then they have a sentencing hearing.
- 1:07:53And at the sentencing hearing,
- 1:07:55you tell your client, okay, bring,
- 1:07:58some, letters from your friends. Tell them what a great guy you are and what a benefit to your family and the community so that the judge will realize you're not a scumbag.
- 1:08:09And every lawyer that's worth his salt knows that you need at least two, not one. You need at least two.
- 1:08:16And maybe three.
- 1:08:18But if you have more than three, it it just makes the judge
- 1:08:23irritable.
- 1:08:24I mean, you say it two, maybe three times. Well, isn't that exactly what the Bible says?
- 1:08:30At the mouth,
- 1:08:31upon the mouth, by the letters used in the the Hebrew text, the prepositions,
- 1:08:36upon the mouth
- 1:08:37of at least two,
- 1:08:40but no more than three witnesses
- 1:08:42shall every material fact be established.
- 1:08:46So one is not enough. And Jesus Christ makes that point over and over and over again
- 1:08:53in the New Testament,
- 1:08:55substantiating
- 1:08:56the
- 1:08:57law of God as a matter of the laws of evidence.
- 1:09:01Our common law says the same thing. It's unwritten. We just we just know it. It's and we say, well, cumulative evidence. You can have,
- 1:09:09to prove a fact,
- 1:09:11you can have, 14 clergymen and three nuns or 14 nuns.
- 1:09:16Well, you don't the the the court's not gonna allow you to do that. You're gonna have two, maybe three, and that's it.
- 1:09:22Because life's short,
- 1:09:25we can't just go on and on and on, pile up evidence forever. It won't do any good anyway.
- 1:09:30The Bible says, here's the way you do it. At least two,
- 1:09:34no more than three. The Bible says two or three, but the Hebrew phrase means at least two,
- 1:09:40but no more than three.
- 1:09:42So you establish every fact. Well, Jesus Christ makes a point to doing that. You can go to the gospel records and read how he points out that is to be done as to the Bible.
- 1:09:51But you can go to the Bible, for example. Now here and if you go to the book Excellence of the Common Law,
- 1:09:57the comparative law text,
- 1:09:59I've got an appendix in the back that goes through this, and then I've got an appendix in the common lawyer's translation of the Bible from the original tongue. Same appendix.
- 1:10:09How do and it's it's pretty long appendix, but how do we know that the Bible is without error?
- 1:10:16And there are many ways you can come at it to prove it conclusively.
- 1:10:21Not to mention, you just can't find any errors. You know, I can testify to that. Nobody ever has
- 1:10:27I'm proven it, but with good evidence.
- 1:10:30But we start with saying, let's take the gospel records. That's the apex according to the Bible. The apex of Revelation is the word of God living.
- 1:10:40The record of the word of God living, Jesus Christ, is the logos, the word.
- 1:10:45The proven logos is from the courts of Rome impressed into Christian service. What does it mean? It means a claim
- 1:10:53that is proven.
- 1:10:55The Bible says, John chapter one verse one, in the beginning was the Logos.
- 1:11:01And the Logos was with God, and the Logos
- 1:11:04at God Wycliffe says at God. I like that preposition.
- 1:11:08And the Logos
- 1:11:10is or was using the erist. Is, you could say is.
- 1:11:14The erist tense just puts out the verb. It doesn't the verb of being, it doesn't give it really any erist means without boundary. It's just out there. Erist.
- 1:11:25Translations
- 1:11:26always say was, but it could be is or is God.
- 1:11:31And the logos, then you read in first John, right, keep going there in that passage,
- 1:11:36he was in the beginning. And John begins to talk about the savior, Jesus
- 1:11:42the Christ,
- 1:11:43the anointed one, the Mashach of the Old Testament,
- 1:11:47anointed in the Hebrew.
- 1:11:49And
- 1:11:50the logos is
- 1:11:52the pinnacle
- 1:11:54of revelation. You have the word written,
- 1:11:57the law written,
- 1:11:58and then the living law, Jesus Christ himself.
- 1:12:02The example how he is the man who is the standard of all humanity.
- 1:12:07Is God himself in human flesh. That's true.
- 1:12:11Well,
- 1:12:12if I just take the gospel records
- 1:12:15and I say, well, there are a lot of it's about history. There are biography
- 1:12:19about a man's life. There are a lot of books written about men's life that I take to be substantially true knowing their errors.
- 1:12:27For example, I believe, of course, that I think it's reliable to say that,
- 1:12:32the declaration of of '76
- 1:12:35was signed sometime in 1776
- 1:12:38because all the witnesses
- 1:12:40that were there testified to it in history.
- 1:12:44I don't know. They always all tell the truth, but substantially true. I've got it on good evidence. Now some of them say that the declaration of '76 was signed on the August 2, and they were there.
- 1:12:56Others say it was signed on the July 4, and they were there too.
- 1:13:01But I know this. I can take all of that and say, well, there's nobody that jumped up and said it wasn't signed on the on the in the year 1776.
- 1:13:12I know that much. In other words, there's substantial truth
- 1:13:16in even the testimonies
- 1:13:19of sinful men. Wow.
- 1:13:22Okay. So we go to and there's a lot of history like that. Did World War two occur? Yeah. I can read all the things people wrote about it. I've talked to men that were there like my father. Did it happen? Well, some did my father tell me that a matter of fact, when my father told me all the events, when he got to Okinawa,
- 1:13:39the he his experience, the USS Comfort was kamikaze'd,
- 1:13:43and he's he was just a kid. By that time, he was 18.
- 1:13:47And they called for volunteers
- 1:13:49to go over and carry off the the dead bodies. And somehow he got into that detail, and he was over there. And he said he was supposed to he had one end of the chicken wire and there'd be all the body or what was left of a body on it. And he was supposed to take the dog tags and read them to the guy with a clipboard so he'd get the name and where he was from. And he said he picked up one, and he read the name. He said, I don't remember the name. And then I read where he was from, and it was right close to where I'm from, right close to where we're from, there around Terre Haute. And he said, all of a sudden, the war became real. He said, these ridgeaps are trying to kill us. You know? Looking at dead bodies wasn't enough, I guess.
- 1:14:30But
- 1:14:31Unknown: I hate to interrupt you so much, but I gotta ask you again. Did you see the Tucker Carlson interview with the USS Liberty survivor
- 1:14:40that, to my knowledge, had never told his story before. Did you see that recently?
- 1:14:44Unknown: Yeah. I lived I listened to that one with rapt attention because I hadn't heard him. He was a he was a Marine Corps sergeant
- 1:14:51at the time, and he was a linguist that was had went to the school at Monterey, and he learned Russian.
- 1:14:58Unknown: And he was monitoring Russian message traffic. Yeah. I listened to that, and it was worthwhile, wasn't it, to listen? Well, it really was. It was like you're hanging on every word almost. Oh, yeah. One thing that sticks with me, if you can put I don't know what the is there a word for putting yourself in that situation?
- 1:15:15Yeah. Yeah. If you could mentally put yourself in that situation in the hall, the the reason they chose
- 1:15:22that the Liberty was because it had the best hull of all the ships that were in dry dock.
- 1:15:27Remember him saying that? Yeah. And Uh-huh. They were in the front part of the ship,
- 1:15:33and there was a 190 men up there. And that's where they translated all these different languages and stuff. Yeah. Yeah. Argent there. But the one thing that really I can't get out of my mind when it comes up is he said that every time a 30 or 50 millimeter
- 1:15:49shell hit the hull, it was like a ringing of a bell,
- 1:15:53and there were how many thousands around? Three three thousand or something. I
- 1:15:58I just think of that, and I go, holy smokes.
- 1:16:01Unknown: Well, I can testify to that. When something hits the hull of a ship, even a big ship like a carrier, it rings
- 1:16:08everywhere. Even it's it hits hard. You know? Uh-huh. And then then one of those of course, they're they had small
- 1:16:14they had minimum armaments on that because it was an intelligence ship. But even a small gun, like a five inch 54,
- 1:16:22they don't have those anymore. But when those go off,
- 1:16:25the whole ship feels like it's gonna come apart. It the the noise is dead. Because the the hollowness and all the compartments, and it's all steel. Yeah. And so it transfers the noise very effectively. Right down through there. Yeah. Yeah. I I can hear that noise. I can't can you hear it? Can't you hear that noise of the ringing? Yes. I can. That's why that's so vivid to me. Yeah. I hate to interrupt. Don't worry we're going, but I just wanted to because when I was watching that, I was thinking about you.
- 1:16:53Unknown: I wonder, Brent, because I know you checked Tucker, so I figured you had, but what an interesting story. What about the guy? And I
- 1:17:03he's this is a guy talking,
- 1:17:05and he's caught in the next compartment
- 1:17:08hit with the torpedo,
- 1:17:11and it hit some of the oil, some, this oil that they ran the ship on. It got a leak, and he says horrible.
- 1:17:19You know, the smell and everything.
- 1:17:21And he's trying. There's a good guy that's alive and some other people in there and he's trying to get him out of this compartment
- 1:17:27with the water filling from where the the the they were sealed off so it didn't sink the rest of the ship. But in that compartment to try and get up to the hole into the next compartment
- 1:17:38and try and help a guy that was wounded.
- 1:17:42So and
- 1:17:44he told the whole story. How many times did he drop him?
- 1:17:47Unknown: Five. Several back into the water. Yeah. He's Then he met him.
- 1:17:53Unknown: Couldn't even remember his name. Couldn't even remember his name again. Know each other. And he's telling the story in the kitchen of one of these liberty
- 1:18:00Unknown: gatherings and the guy's in a wheelchair, and he said, hell, I'd have gotten a lot better if you wouldn't have dropped me so many times. Yeah. If you had to drop me, I wouldn't have all that. Oh, what a funny line. Oh, I just busted up laughing. Saved his life, though. He did save his life. Yeah. He did. And didn't even know who he was. I mean, he wasn't you know, the way he described it, the ship had about half the crew
- 1:18:22were just deck apes and navy young navy sailors, and the other half of the crew were all these intelligence guys that were Uh-huh. Linguists and analysts up front. Yeah. And they were all together. And, but
- 1:18:34they're when you're, when you're in the armed forces,
- 1:18:38Unknown: you're a target, and all of them suffered. Did you did you catch the line when he said the Jewish guy was up on the 2nd Deck and looked over and saw the
- 1:18:47PT boats with flying the Israeli flag, and he started crying.
- 1:18:52Yeah.
- 1:18:52Unknown: Yeah. And no question, they were targeted, and the the object was to murder every sailor on that ship so there'd be no witnesses. And then they would claim that the Egyptians did it, and it would drag America into the war, and that's what Johnson wanted. Johnson, McNamara both wanted. And just people hadn't heard it. I'll go ahead and spoil it for you. And,
- 1:19:13Unknown: right there at the last, they were getting ready. So he looked up, and there were helicopters helicopters with with with the IDF. They're gonna lower them down on the ship and kill everybody. And that's when the guy got to talk about god. That's when the guy put two wires. They sent in a heat seeking missiles,
- 1:19:30specifically
- 1:19:31the heat which they were seeking was telegraphing wires.
- 1:19:35Okay? And so they were all seared,
- 1:19:38and somebody attached
- 1:19:39to,
- 1:19:40and I I don't remember if it was this guy or somebody next to him that put out the Mayday, Mayday call. And the minute that call went out, everything stopped.
- 1:19:50Unknown: Yeah. Because they got caught. Yep. It's that simple.
- 1:19:53And the fellow that attached those two wires together passed away a few years back. He wasn't that old. He was something like 19 or something. He crawled out on the deck. Nobody would go out on the deck because they were dropping
- 1:20:05napalm. And what napalm does, it's it's a gasoline
- 1:20:09mixture.
- 1:20:10Unknown: Mhmm. It's a jelly. Jelly,
- 1:20:12Unknown: And it it doesn't explode. It detonates. In other words, it sucks the oxygen out of the air so instantaneously
- 1:20:19that it collapses the lungs.
- 1:20:20Uh-huh. And plus, plus burns you into a crispy critter, but the collateral damage is death by collapsed lung.
- 1:20:27And that's why it was so effective in Vietnam because they drop it where and well, they drop and and also in, the islands during the war, they drop it where men were in caves, and it would suck Oh, yeah. The oxygen out of the caves and collapse the lungs of the men inside. Well, that's what was going on. He crawled out on the deck with all this burning gel all over the deck,
- 1:20:49and he had this wire in his hand. And he found the other end of the wire, and he just spliced them together and then curled back.
- 1:20:57And he was he didn't know he was just a deck ape, if remember
- 1:21:01right, but maybe not. I don't know. You'd look it up. But they asked him later, said, how'd you know how to do it? He said, well, he was from Texas someplace.
- 1:21:08He said, well, we're on the farm. He said, we splashed a lot of baling wire together to do a lot of stuff. And Yeah. He said, that's what I did. You know, it used to be on the farm, it used to be baling wire, and then it got to be duct tape, and now it's bungee cords.
- 1:21:21Yeah.
- 1:21:22Probably not. All
- 1:21:23good improvements. Bungee cords are great, but they don't last as long as baling wire. But that he was highly decorated for what he did. He didn't receive the the Not publicly.
- 1:21:34No. Not publicly. The skipper, Magonna McGonahee, I think. Yeah. I think that's right. He got the medal of honor in private. In not public. Only time it's ever not been awarded in the Rose Garden.
- 1:21:47Unknown: Yeah. And they took him over to Virginia Beach, one of the naval stations over there and awarded it to him there. Wasn't it wasn't the president? It wasn't the president. It was some low ranking officer who gave it to him. Right. Did you see, what's wonderful that all this coming out? So god bless you, Tucker, for finding this guy and giving us this
- 1:22:06different perspective we've never heard before. Hey. He had he had never said much about this particular fellow. But the fact that it's even mentioned publicly
- 1:22:16and even to the additional fact that now Massey's gone in front of congress and got it in congressional record.
- 1:22:23And it's coming out, and these people can't stand it. There's they're in the background. They're they're wriggling as my mother would say, like a worm in hot ashes.
- 1:22:34Unknown: Running like scalded dogs.
- 1:22:36Unknown: You got it. You got it. Well,
- 1:22:39are we are we free to return to the other Yeah. Oh, yeah. Yeah. I'm sorry we get off on these rabbit trails, but these are all really I just had been dying to ask you about that and only get a couple hours with you. You know? So it came to my mind, and so I blurted it out. I'm glad you saw it. Where were we, if you can remember? Well, it was for me. Trying to make the point trying to make the point and pointing people to the
- 1:23:05Unknown: oh, by the way, I didn't say it. I'll say it now. If I don't say this, nobody knows how to access the information.
- 1:23:12Commonlawyer.com.
- 1:23:14Www.commonlawyer.com.
- 1:23:17I think you can go to amazon.com
- 1:23:19and get the,
- 1:23:21the good book, Uncooked. The common lawyer translates the bible from the original tongues. I've always said over 35,000
- 1:23:28footnotes, but I counted them two days ago, Roger, the footnotes.
- 1:23:32I'm up to 44,000,
- 1:23:34over 44,000
- 1:23:35footnotes
- 1:23:36explaining,
- 1:23:37in a lot of case, trying to show why I translate the way I do and also making comments. And then over
- 1:23:44oh, well over 225
- 1:23:46appendices trace tracing major themes through the warp and the woof of the text of the context of the Bible. But to question it, why do I give so much attention to the Bible? There's no question. As I look at my life now, that's the one thing that I just keep coming back to, and I've been over, well, about forty six years now trying to translate it.
- 1:24:06And I just keep finding better ways to say it in English to get the point across.
- 1:24:11But,
- 1:24:12why do I do this? Because if if the Bible is God, the record of what our maker has said,
- 1:24:20then nothing else in the world matters. That's my point of view, and I think I'm right.
- 1:24:25I mean, if if Jesus Christ if it's if the record is true, Jesus Christ said there's there's a hell,
- 1:24:32well, I need to know that and there's nothing else. If he tells me
- 1:24:36to do something, to seek ye first, he said, seek ye first
- 1:24:41the
- 1:24:42arrangement
- 1:24:44of jurisdictions
- 1:24:45that God has delegated.
- 1:24:47Thus the kingdom, Basilea.
- 1:24:49Seek that first,
- 1:24:51and all of the other things that he has in store for you that are good shall be added.
- 1:24:56If he says do that first,
- 1:24:58well, nothing else matters.
- 1:25:01If he says that
- 1:25:03violent men enter the kingdom of heaven, what does that mean? Well, that means that you want it so bad because you're born from above.
- 1:25:10You want it so bad, you'll do anything to get it. It's it's a it's as the reformers said, it's irresistible.
- 1:25:17You cannot
- 1:25:18resist the urge
- 1:25:20to do it.
- 1:25:21It's not even possible to resist the urge.
- 1:25:24And that's what the Bible teaches. Well, well, then that's what I need to know. And it is the words of God that move men to intrepid
- 1:25:32intrepid behavior.
- 1:25:34I know that we're all sinners. I know Christopher Columbus was a sinner. I know he had his problems. I've read about them. But Christopher Columbus
- 1:25:43came
- 1:25:44came
- 1:25:46west seeking a passage to India
- 1:25:49because he was reading the Bible and making notes in the margin. That's the thing that really drove him. Well, whatever he was, you can you can even access
- 1:25:58his Bible with the notes.
- 1:26:01And all men that have done intrepid behavior
- 1:26:05we have this fellow that you you've and I have talked about, Roger, and I don't read his his he made a translation of the Bible that took several years.
- 1:26:13And his name you're gonna tell me his name. It's not coming to top of the head.
- 1:26:19Farfenton? Yeah. Farfenton.
- 1:26:21Now I don't particularly I I like Farfenton's
- 1:26:24translation, but I I don't particularly think he's the most accurate. And when I read him, I certainly acknowledge how hard it is to do because I've been trying it for decades.
- 1:26:33And I and nobody's gonna get it all right, and they're all different. But Farrar Fenton said this. The purpose was this, Roger. This is what struck me about Farrar Fenton.
- 1:26:44Farrar he's a Brit, by the way.
- 1:26:47He and he had the King James, and he had the authorized version of 18 He started out as an atheist.
- 1:26:54Yes. Hell, yeah. But, of course, the the word of god is what changes everything. It it is the seed of the word of god that brings it is the the
- 1:27:03sperm.
- 1:27:04The seed,
- 1:27:05Peter says. He used the word in the Greek that that provides the conception of the new birth. It can't come any other way. It's that important. But Farrar Fenton said, there has to be a reason.
- 1:27:18Us British people,
- 1:27:21us English speaking people are not any smarter than anybody else. We're certainly no more virtuous than a lot of other people. Why is it that we rule the world and rule the oceans? Why?
- 1:27:33And now his conclusion was not that they Brits are better than others,
- 1:27:39his by native force, but his conclusion is
- 1:27:43his conclusion was the Bible has been to
- 1:27:46to English speaking people
- 1:27:48what it hasn't been to anybody else, and that is an historic fact.
- 1:27:52You know, the Reformation on the continent of Europe, when you think of the Reformation on the continent of Europe, in other words, the movement back to the authority of the Bible,
- 1:28:01away from the authority of the pope,
- 1:28:04back to the Bible being final in all things. You think of Martin Luther and Saxony.
- 1:28:10You think of Zwingli in Switzerland.
- 1:28:13You think of John Calvin in the French speaking parts, France and parts of Switzerland,
- 1:28:18you think of
- 1:28:20men,
- 1:28:21leaders,
- 1:28:23that God used. That's true. You come to
- 1:28:27England,
- 1:28:28the English speaking people,
- 1:28:30who can you point to an England that was the leader of the Reformation?
- 1:28:35Fact is, you can't.
- 1:28:36You can point to a lot of guys that did a lot of stuff, but the guys you point to that did a lot of stuff did what? They translated the Bible into English.
- 1:28:46And so in England and in Scotland and together the two,
- 1:28:51the Bible
- 1:28:53of god's
- 1:28:54record, god's book is the foundation
- 1:28:58of everything there. And only
- 1:29:00on the British island
- 1:29:02was the reformation of both church and government.
- 1:29:06It was not the reformation of government and hasn't been. It was just of the church
- 1:29:11on the continent of Europe.
- 1:29:14It is that book called the Bible
- 1:29:16that has that is infused into a people
- 1:29:20in a in a without men, just the book itself.
- 1:29:24And that's what happened on the island of Britain.
- 1:29:27Now you can point to, for example, in in Scotland, you can point to John Knox as the leader of the Reformation,
- 1:29:34and that that's true.
- 1:29:36But after Knox,
- 1:29:38everything bled into the whole island
- 1:29:41and the English Civil War and all the things that happened. And I know there and we've had Paul English on talking about Cromwell
- 1:29:49and Paul and talking about Churchill.
- 1:29:52Yes. These men were sinners and bad,
- 1:29:54and all of us are. And to say that you're better is the is the height of arrogance. You're not. Neither am I. But God has given us the new birth. We still carry the flesh around,
- 1:30:06but he's moving us
- 1:30:07in the right direction. Well, coming back to the Bible is in an errant.
- 1:30:11Yeah. I can point to gospel. Mistakes
- 1:30:13Unknown: that we all made collectively
- 1:30:15when we were young and stupid
- 1:30:17set
- 1:30:18a what do they call it? On a a thing that runs along the side of you where
- 1:30:24you can't go past it, you know, guideline.
- 1:30:27Yeah. They set a guideline on one side, then it's your duty, I think, set it on the other.
- 1:30:34Unknown: Well, yeah.
- 1:30:36Well, that's why I say when I go home and I talk to all my kids and Ken at
- 1:30:43dad's
- 1:30:45go home. When I say go home, I go back to that hometown.
- 1:30:49Yes. You know, I'm still around there. But
- 1:30:52when I go close like that to that little hometown,
- 1:30:58all the people there,
- 1:30:59they know me,
- 1:31:01and I know them. And we're not pulling any we're not pulling any fast ones on each other. We just know too much. And
- 1:31:08yeah. And and they know all the bad things, and and those things stay with you, and they hamper you. They should. Yeah.
- 1:31:16And they should. And that's what keeps it right, Roger. Good. We're preaching like, two guys preaching to each other here, the choir,
- 1:31:23but, we're making the point.
- 1:31:26Unknown: Let me get back to the see if I can get this inerrancy thing. How much time we got? Like, we've got Oh, we got plenty of time. It's the feedback loop. It's the feedback loop. Says you went here before.
- 1:31:37It isn't a good place to be. Don't do it again. Boom. And that
- 1:31:41is wisdom.
- 1:31:42That's a good word. When you make that connection,
- 1:31:45and and as I came up with a few years ago thinking about this, isn't wisdom
- 1:31:51the only thing worth losing your youth for?
- 1:31:55Unknown: Yeah. You waste yourself. That's right. Waste your time and do things that are so get it, what did you accomplish?
- 1:32:05And thus that's good. And thus, the Bible says Paul the apostle says in Romans,
- 1:32:11all things, not just the good things,
- 1:32:14but all things, that includes the bad things, work together for good to them who are called according to his purpose. Yeah. And that's a special group of folk called the Bible called the elect, the called, the eclectas,
- 1:32:27the chosen out from among others for whatever reason. And certainly, it's not because we're good people. That's not it. God
- 1:32:34chooses the Bible says, god chooses the weak,
- 1:32:39the despised of this world
- 1:32:41to confound
- 1:32:43the wise of this world.
- 1:32:45And I see it all day, every day. And as I get older, I understand it. And it's almost like God's sense of humor just to
- 1:32:54use people that don't I like myself.
- 1:32:57I've watched God use me
- 1:33:00confound those
- 1:33:01who thought they were on top of this world system. I have watched it. I'm watching it right now. And I'm not doing much anything but just sitting here working. That's all I do. I'm in seclusion. I'm just kinda minding my own business.
- 1:33:16I'm semi retired, pretty much retired,
- 1:33:19and I'm translating the Bible. I do it all day every day.
- 1:33:23A few other things I gotta do. I gotta take care of the critters. It's sure nice
- 1:33:28to be around where I grew up and watch all the critters. But let me get back to the Bible. Maybe I can finish this. We're gonna have time for a few comments. Alright.
- 1:33:37Okay. So Now try to be quiet. Go ahead. And Henry Joel Cadbury, who didn't believe the Bible much, inerrancy.
- 1:33:44If you don't believe inerrancy, you don't believe the Bible. But it is the gospel records are substantially historically reliable material.
- 1:33:51There's no question about that. Everybody agrees about that. Even those that hate Christianity. They're scholars at the big seminaries. They, oh, yeah. Well, that's substantially reliable. Jesus Christ did live. Now Cadbury makes this point too.
- 1:34:05He says the the the the life of Jesus Christ was not punctuated
- 1:34:11by suspensions
- 1:34:13of the laws of nature.
- 1:34:15Suspensions,
- 1:34:16temporary suspensions
- 1:34:17of the laws of nature. The fancy word is miracle.
- 1:34:21But the lawgiver of creation
- 1:34:24has the authority and power if he wants to suspend
- 1:34:27those laws temporarily,
- 1:34:29and he does. He turned the water into wine. He made the axe head float in the Old Testament.
- 1:34:35And things happened during the life of Moses, during the life of Elijah and Elisha, and during the lives of the 12 man jury that Jesus Christ impaneled to witness the evidence of his identity.
- 1:34:46Three forty year periods in the history of mankind,
- 1:34:50suspensions of the God suspended the laws of nature. About three forty year periods. That's all we know that it ever happened.
- 1:34:58And
- 1:34:59during those three forty year periods, starting with Moses, the times of Elijah and Elisha,
- 1:35:04and the times of Jesus Christ and the apostles.
- 1:35:09The Bible was penned.
- 1:35:12The Bible was penned during those three forty that makes a total of a hundred and twenty years. The Bible is penned right during those times.
- 1:35:20You have to ask yourself, why? Well, it's obvious. And John Locke,
- 1:35:24whose phrase is pepper, our Declaration of '76,
- 1:35:28John Locke said this: The miracles
- 1:35:31of Jesus Christ
- 1:35:35substantiate
- 1:35:37his credibility
- 1:35:39as proposer of doctrine.
- 1:35:42If you take the Gospel record, say they're substantially historically reliable, it's not that they're it's punctuated by him his miracles.
- 1:35:50It is, as Cadbury says, a blaze of miracles.
- 1:35:54You can't deny them. Tom Jefferson tried to you know, it's funny. Tom Jefferson said that John Locke was one of the three greatest mortals that ever lived.
- 1:36:03John Locke was one of the three greatest mortals that ever lived.
- 1:36:08John Locke said that the miracles of Jesus Christ
- 1:36:12established his credibility
- 1:36:14as proposer of doctrine.
- 1:36:18But Tom Jefferson, who admired John Locke to the nth degree, took the Bible and he said, yeah, God spoke to us, but all these miracles are not true. And he tried to cut them all out of the Bible.
- 1:36:30It's called the Jefferson Bible. It's available.
- 1:36:33But he didn't believe that that could happen.
- 1:36:36He was not a deist.
- 1:36:38A deist is somebody who says God does not communicate to man. Mhmm. Tom Jefferson believed God communicates to man the Bible, but he did not believe that the the passages that,
- 1:36:48said there were suspensions
- 1:36:50of the laws
- 1:36:51of nature were true.
- 1:36:53Well, that's just a side note about he later, I think, came had a come to Jesus meeting over that. But let's get back to
- 1:37:01Jesus Christ's life was life was a blaze of miracles.
- 1:37:05That's all he did. Page after page, you just go through the gospel
- 1:37:09record, the four gospels. It's just all there.
- 1:37:12Well, if what John Locke says is true, and I tend to think John well, he's murdered me, but I agree with him.
- 1:37:19And
- 1:37:21if the miracles substantiate
- 1:37:24the suspensions of the laws of nature, if you cut the law, the the miracles out of the gospels, you don't have much left, frankly.
- 1:37:31So there's a substantially true
- 1:37:34if you're going to believe the testimony,
- 1:37:37the reliable words, the the substantial historic reliability
- 1:37:40of the testimony of Jesus Christ, as Cadbury says, who didn't believe it, but he said it's gotta be true,
- 1:37:47then,
- 1:37:49then the Bible is without error because,
- 1:37:52Jesus Christ taught that.
- 1:37:55So the gospel records being the pinnacle of all of written revelation before and after,
- 1:38:00the living word,
- 1:38:01the record of what he said and did,
- 1:38:04substantiates
- 1:38:05the doctrine of inerrance. You know, this is very brief what I've said here. I've laid it out in detail in the an appendix in
- 1:38:13the winterized
- 1:38:14what do call it, the commonly translated the Bible toward a raw translation.
- 1:38:19Now I got all that in there because I it's clear to me
- 1:38:22that your your Henry Joel Cadbury knew a lot more than I did, but, you know, the Bible says men like him can learn forever,
- 1:38:30but never come to a knowledge of the truth, but to continue with all their learning, to deny reality.
- 1:38:36And there are a lot of men like that denying reality.
- 1:38:40And only by the new birth of the Spirit
- 1:38:43is the mind enlightened to accept
- 1:38:46overwhelming
- 1:38:47and veritable embarrassment of riches of evidence of truth.
- 1:38:51That's what the Bible says, and I believe that part too. Well, there's more to be said about it than that. But, Roger, you like to open things up, and I do too. I I do too. Yeah. And we've been a good really good show covering a lot of different diverse topics
- 1:39:05Unknown: and issues. Anybody in the audience have any questions, comments, analysis, overviews,
- 1:39:10or something else you'd just like to say howdy?
- 1:39:14Now is the time. Star six is the way, and here we are waiting
- 1:39:20for a hey, Roger. Hey, Brent. Yes, Oh,
- 1:39:24there's Christian right there. Hey, Christian.
- 1:39:29Unknown: Well, you you have an you have a talent for
- 1:39:32voices.
- 1:39:33Hey.
- 1:39:34You said something about asking Brent today about, how much a shackle was.
- 1:39:40Unknown: Yeah. Well, that's a good question. We mentioned it earlier. Was telling you about the D'Souza thing.
- 1:39:46Do you do you know how much that would be, or do you have information for us, Christian? You've gone off and done some research or what?
- 1:39:53Unknown: No. I was I was wanting to ask Brent.
- 1:39:57No. Well, I'd tell you what I know, and, then there's speculation beyond that.
- 1:40:02I know for sure from reading the Bible,
- 1:40:06the words there are a lot. It's a Hebrew word, shekel,
- 1:40:09or we just say in English shekel. That's good enough.
- 1:40:13And it is a measurement of weight.
- 1:40:17A measurement of weight. That much,
- 1:40:20we know. And
- 1:40:22it was standard in the ancient world,
- 1:40:26in The Levant, as the French say, the Fertile Crescent, as others say, the Mesopotamia
- 1:40:31and Valley coming around and then going down
- 1:40:35toward Egypt.
- 1:40:37And in the winterized version of the Bible,
- 1:40:40I've got plenty of footnotes on it,
- 1:40:43the shekel,
- 1:40:45and how much
- 1:40:46how much it weighs.
- 1:40:49And I don't recall exactly what it is, but I'm trying to look here as I'm talking.
- 1:40:54But it has a it
- 1:40:56has a specific weight. Let's see. Well, here's a note. Silver,
- 1:41:00current money. Every time you see the word money in, for example, the King James version of the Bible,
- 1:41:08it that's not that's not what it says at all. And every time you see the word money, and even in the New Testament, this is true a lot,
- 1:41:16but in the Old Testament, across the board is true.
- 1:41:20The King James translators translate the word for silver, kisef,
- 1:41:25and they translate money.
- 1:41:27Well, was it money? Yeah. It was current, as we say, current money. Yeah. Silver was.
- 1:41:33But that's not what it says. It says silver.
- 1:41:35And in the winterized version, I make a point to try and, as much as I can,
- 1:41:40to always translate it that way
- 1:41:43because,
- 1:41:45well, we just wanna be raw and accurate as we can. And as our constitution of The United States says,
- 1:41:54the only money that our law allows in America is gold and silver coin.
- 1:41:59I say money? Yeah. When I say money, Roger, you can you can adjust the definition if you think I'm not doing it right. But I mean, money, what is used as currency in exchange.
- 1:42:11That's that's what gold and silver are and copper coins, pennies. We don't have copper anymore, as you know. They're aluminum.
- 1:42:18That's against the law. It's not only against
- 1:42:21the law of our our common law and our constitution of The United States.
- 1:42:26It's against
- 1:42:27god's explicit
- 1:42:30detailed law of the Bible.
- 1:42:32Gold and silver
- 1:42:34are
- 1:42:35god's lawful money.
- 1:42:37In the Bible according to our common law, which means also our constitution of The United States.
- 1:42:44And if we have that
- 1:42:46and I don't mean pieces of paper that you can trade in for gold and silver. That's not enough. Okay. Good. Now yeah. That's not enough. Let's see what I've got here. Shekel.
- 1:42:55I talked enough, Roger. I was able to find it. There you go. A unit oh, nice thing about getting a winterized version, you can get it in hard copy or online
- 1:43:03or, I mean, in digital. If you get it in digital form, you can do searches like this. Yes. And that was the intention, and the and the footnotes are massive. Well,
- 1:43:13Shekel,
- 1:43:14a unit of weight, Shin,
- 1:43:16Kov, Lamed, the Hebrew, three Hebrew letters,
- 1:43:19Shin Kov Lamed, a unit of weight roughly equal
- 1:43:23to that of a pair
- 1:43:26of gold
- 1:43:28earrings.
- 1:43:29That's the fundamental
- 1:43:31unwritten standard of the ancient world.
- 1:43:34And that you can see in Genesis, and you can get this too from Genesis twenty four twenty two.
- 1:43:41That it makes that point there. That's in the Bible.
- 1:43:44Though here the word, I'm reading from a footnote, is in the singular shekel. It translates into English in the plural shekels.
- 1:43:53Just as among American farmers, a single measured unit of corn weighing
- 1:43:5960 pounds
- 1:44:00is
- 1:44:01said to weigh 60
- 1:44:04pound.
- 1:44:05You know, in English, we do that a lot. Well, how much do you weigh? Oh, forty pound in the singular. Well, it's not forty pound. Really, it's forty pounds, but we don't say it that way always. Well, that's the way they talked about shekels.
- 1:44:18If they say 40 shekel,
- 1:44:21well, that that means you've got 40. There's plural.
- 1:44:24And that's the way it's used the Hebrew word is used in the Bible.
- 1:44:28Thus also among the ancient Hebrews and other Semites,
- 1:44:32a Semite is a descendant
- 1:44:34of Sim, Shem.
- 1:44:36Shem, one of the three sons of Noah.
- 1:44:40All of the Arab world, of which there are a lot more of them than people call themselves Jews,
- 1:44:45are Semites.
- 1:44:46To be against all of the Jewish people in the world that are screaming and hollering about semi antisemitism
- 1:44:52are the biggest antisemites
- 1:44:54on the planet because they hate Arabs.
- 1:44:59Words are important, and we throw people in political correctness, throw them around like cordwood.
- 1:45:05But May may I? May I? Yeah. Sure. Words mean things. Go ahead. Yeah. They darn sure do, and we wanna get. That's why that's why Noah Webster said, I'm tired of you saying the word means this, and I say it means that, and that whoever defines the meaning of the word wins the debate.
- 1:45:23The the devil with all that.
- 1:45:25What does god say words mean? And that's why we have the Noe eighteen twenty eight dictionary.
- 1:45:30That was his purpose. I
- 1:45:33a wonderful purpose. And he didn't just do it out of the blue. He spent years translating the Bible.
- 1:45:39So he thought he had that under his belt and then he did the dictionary.
- 1:45:43Ain't that wonderful? I think so. Yeah.
- 1:45:46Well, that's what I know about Shekel. And, you know, at common law, everything at common law is what some people call approximate.
- 1:45:54All of our system
- 1:45:57law system
- 1:45:58I invented a word, systemant. I didn't mean systemant.
- 1:46:01Unknown: I meant system of measurement. I was gonna ask you, what was that again?
- 1:46:06Unknown: System our system of measurement, our English system of measurement
- 1:46:11is the common law system.
- 1:46:13And it's all according
- 1:46:14to approximation
- 1:46:17that works. Approximations
- 1:46:19that work.
- 1:46:20The metric system, the French invented during that horrible, ugly, bloody
- 1:46:25chopping people's head off by the hundreds of thousands Yeah. Revolution. And they said, we're gonna throw out we're gonna strangle every priest with the guts of every king, and we're throwing God out. We're gonna enshrine this whore, this naked whore. And they did. They took a whore off the streets of Paris, stripped her naked, enshrined her, put a sign around her neck that said reason and logic,
- 1:46:46and they put her in the they enshrined her in the
- 1:46:49Cathedral Notre Dame. They were insane. But they said, we're gonna be, as they say, quote, unquote, scientific.
- 1:46:57So they said the the system of measurement, we're gonna base on the distance between the Equator and the and the North Pole.
- 1:47:04That was silly. They didn't know how they thought they knew how far it was. They thought arithmetic and they could be precise,
- 1:47:10and that's the metric system. But our common law system of measurement isn't like that. And the Bible is not like that. The Bible, the cubit,
- 1:47:17was the distance between the tip of your longest finger to your elbow. And amazingly, of course, it comes out that way pretty much with every man. The fathom is, of course, the distance where you can stretch out your hands or the yard is from the tip of your nose to the tip of your finger as you move as you hold your arm out. But those kinds of measurements that by the way, we went to the moon on those kind of measurements and the pound and the stone and all that, That's biblical. That's what because it's practical. It's practical. It works.
- 1:47:48That's the important thing about the English system of measurement, and that's the important thing about our common law tradition. If there's anything that's not logical in the world, and I got this, I'm in good company.
- 1:47:59When I say this, it's our common law tradition. It's not built on logic.
- 1:48:03No. No.
- 1:48:04It's built on fact.
- 1:48:06And the logic is just easy and natural if you got the right facts, but our common law system of measurement
- 1:48:13works because it gets the job done, and that's the way it was among the ancient Hebrews. And when they said,
- 1:48:22they knew what that meant meant without being logical or being precise. Our common law is not about preciseness. Here's what we're after in our common law,
- 1:48:32and this is the bible too. We're after substantial
- 1:48:34justice.
- 1:48:35I went into trial once and we had a guy of a friend. I grew up with him. I was even in four h with him. He didn't live far from us, and he was the baby of the family. And my father had dated his mother when we came back from the war. We were, as I say, not Ken in this case, but Kiff.
- 1:48:50And
- 1:48:52he bought a piece of farm machinery that cost a a dollar and dollars amount, a precise amount.
- 1:48:58It it was over 400 and of over $453,000.
- 1:49:02Long story about the machinery. But
- 1:49:05it didn't work as advertised, and he wanted his money back. We went into court before the jury in that little county where we live.
- 1:49:12Again, everybody knows everybody.
- 1:49:14And,
- 1:49:15of course, if you're a trial lawyer, one thing you don't want on a jury, if you can help it, is a school teacher, a banker, or a professor.
- 1:49:23People like that
- 1:49:25will try to they'll they think they're educated. Of course, they are. They think they can act like lawyers. And if there's anything you don't want on a jury, it's somebody who who wants to act like a lawyer. Lawyers know better. They don't they're tired of all that baloney, so they don't act that way. But other people will try to be lawyers, and they'll try to act like lawyers and try to do what lawyers do. They think they're doing what lawyers do, but they're not. So we had this guy. We couldn't keep him off the jury. We threw up friends of mine that worked in banks. We got rid of them. We don't want bankers because bankers, they're it's all about preciseness, see, and that doesn't work. You'll never get justice with preciseness because we're mortals and we're we don't know enough to be precise. But we had this blasted engineer on there from the oil refinery.
- 1:50:07Marathon Oil Company had a refinery there.
- 1:50:10And he
- 1:50:12was on the jury, and we said, oh, no. This guy's gonna try to figure this out using arithmetic.
- 1:50:17And the jury was out for a long time, and I was finally down to Moonshine store, and I saw one of the jurors down there.
- 1:50:24I said, what happened? And we won the case, by the way. I said, what happened to the jury room?
- 1:50:30And the fellow said, well, you know that engineer that was on the jury, he was trying to prorate
- 1:50:36how much your client had lost, Doug, his name was Doug, how much your client had lost day by day and hour by hour per near, and we couldn't get him past trying to figure all that stuff out. And we said to him, look, this guy lost for just over $453,000.
- 1:50:49Let's just give him his money back. So I went nothing to figure out here. Let's just give the man his money back.
- 1:50:56Well, finally, they shut this engineer down. He was trying to be precise and prorate everything,
- 1:51:03and we won the case. But that's if where you if you wanna be precise,
- 1:51:08you wanna be and be
- 1:51:10and I have said this before. I feel like I'm beating a dead horse sometimes, Roger. Logic will not get us to the truth
- 1:51:17Because logic most time when people stress logic, I can quote other men smarter than me, Merriman from Bolt Hall. When people
- 1:51:26when where logic is stressed,
- 1:51:28fact has a way of receding from consideration.
- 1:51:32What was the fact of the matter in that case? Doug got screwed out of $453,000.
- 1:51:37Give it back to him. Is that hard?
- 1:51:40That's all it amounts to. All we ask Yeah. All we're asking college to come up with a conclusion like that. Yeah. Yeah. And all we're asking we're making it simple. All we're asking the jury do to do is say yes or no. He gets his money back or he doesn't. Yeah. Well, they can say other things that they want, but is he get is he right or wrong? Up or down? Black or white? In or out? And I'll tell you what, all of life is that way.
- 1:52:04I give you testimony as a man who's been the the whole world has tried to suck into the minutiae of administrative law and all the baloney that goes with it. No. A thousand times no. I don't wanna go there. Right and wrong. It's either in or out, up or down, heaven or hell, saint or ain't.
- 1:52:22Unknown: Either you're born from above or you aren't. I mean, getting right down to the fundamentals and the the major issues of life and all of life is like that. It all has to come back relate it back to the first principles. Go ahead. I find the challenges to take any of these issues that come up like that that are contentious even in your own mind. Uh-huh. And to whittle that down, think about it enough until you get down to an eve it's either this or it's that, and there's no other options.
- 1:52:50Unknown: I'm with you, Roger. And as I get older. Yeah. I know when I was younger, had all these professors around and all. And I know that guy's smart and I need to learn to do like that. I tried all that Yeah. For years.
- 1:53:02I'm it does it's not where life is, but that's what the evil empire wants you to think, and they'll try to suck you into it.
- 1:53:10Unknown: By by
- 1:53:11complexity, the more you make that
- 1:53:14view and perspective complex and complicated,
- 1:53:18the more you're gonna confuse somebody's
- 1:53:20the
- 1:53:21way they walk away with a conclusion.
- 1:53:24Yeah. Here, it's either yes or no. Which is it, sir?
- 1:53:28Or are you free, or are you a slave? That's that's good, Roger. Of course, that's good, but here we are talking. I want other people to be able to I know. But you and I get on these Jags as one of these shows are so entertaining.
- 1:53:41We don't necessarily care about the rest of you. Brent and I are enjoying the hell out of this. Oh, yeah. But you've got a couple minutes left. Roger, Roger. Could you oh, yes, Roger.
- 1:53:52Unknown: Jerry G. Garcia in
- 1:53:54Unknown: Hey, Jerry from Carlsbad where the bats fly. Hey, man.
- 1:53:58Unknown: Right. And they fly out pretty regular. I have a question for
- 1:54:02for Brent. First,
- 1:54:04I'm gonna read a verse, and then I I would like to know what is meant by the cross.
- 1:54:11Whoever does not take up the cross and follow me
- 1:54:16is not worthy of me.
- 1:54:19Matthew ten thirty eight.
- 1:54:21What what is the cross
- 1:54:24that we should take up?
- 1:54:26That's all. That's
- 1:54:28Unknown: an important question. And that means your brain's working. And that means you're saying to yourself,
- 1:54:33this can't mean what everybody says it means.
- 1:54:37It can't according to the rest of the Bible. There's a lot of stuff in the Bible. People say it means this, and you look at the rest of the Bible and you go, wait a minute. That can't mean that because the Bible says otherwise everywhere else. And if there's anything about the interpret what did you say? Matthew four twenty three, is that what you said?
- 1:54:55Unknown: Jerry?
- 1:54:57I didn't lose him. Did 38.
- 1:55:01Unknown: Ten Ten thirty eight.
- 1:55:03Ten thirty eight. Matthew ten thirty eight.
- 1:55:06Unknown: Okay. Okay. Well, the reason I I'm talking again,
- 1:55:11I learned this technique from the man that wrote the Roe v Wade opinion.
- 1:55:16His name was Blackman, and I
- 1:55:19he made a presentation
- 1:55:20when I was in law school.
- 1:55:23He wanted students only to know professors, so we wouldn't be embarrassed and we would ask him questions.
- 1:55:29They're probably recording our our questions and taking our names down so they could come back and get us later. I don't know. But, anyway,
- 1:55:37he would show he'd listen. He'd come to the edge of the stage. He'd listen to the question,
- 1:55:42and then he'd shuffle back to the microphone. And he said, that gives me time to think of an answer. Well Yeah.
- 1:55:49Well, not that I thought he was a great guy, but that was a good technique. So I'm looking up the note that I wrote on this
- 1:55:57because I have I I I have the I've heard the same things you've heard. Here here's the winterized version. Here's the winterized version
- 1:56:05or the a common layer translates from the original tongues, Matthew Matthew ten thirty eight.
- 1:56:10And who takes not his gibbet
- 1:56:13who takes not his gibbet
- 1:56:16and follows the same roadway back to me
- 1:56:20is not worthy of me.
- 1:56:23Now what is a gibbet? Why do I say gibbet? Because I have a policy in my translation to use only English words.
- 1:56:31And we and second,
- 1:56:33we have no clear evidence from the Bible that Jesus with Christ was nailed
- 1:56:37to a cross piece. None.
- 1:56:40Matter of fact, although he may have been. I'm just saying it's not sure, And the evidence seems to lean the other direction that he was nailed to a post.
- 1:56:50But that's not the important point anyway, is it really? The important point is that he is human sacrifice,
- 1:56:56the only human
- 1:56:58sacrifice that god has ever
- 1:57:01ever authorized,
- 1:57:03and it's the one God demands for the penalty for our sins. He was murdered, humiliated in that way.
- 1:57:09But in at common law, it's called a gibbet,
- 1:57:12and gibbeting
- 1:57:13was an important,
- 1:57:15means of killing people in America. What is gibbeting?
- 1:57:18Well, at common law, it means you're hung on a tree.
- 1:57:21You're hung from a limb. You're hung on wood, to put it in Bible terms. Of a cursed the old translations in the law of God say cursed
- 1:57:30is every man that is hung on a tree. Well, tree is an old word word for wood, and that's why gallows traditionally,
- 1:57:38in our common law tradition, have always been made of wood.
- 1:57:42All this is a par history of where it comes from. I've seen one gallows not made of wood in my life, and it's in the Panhandle Of Texas
- 1:57:50at a small at Armstrong County Courthouse, by the way,
- 1:57:53made entirely of steel.
- 1:57:55That's another story. We're listening to the music. This is Brent Allen Winters commonlawyer.com,
- 1:58:02www.commonlawyer.com.
- 1:58:06And go to the website, take advantage of what's there.
- 1:58:09It's for your enjoyment and benefit as a Christian man or woman.
- 1:58:14All of the resources,
- 1:58:15law classes,
- 1:58:18the translation of the Bible, comparative law text on different common law subjects that we've written.
- 1:58:24We come back, if you stay here, and I'll read the footnote, and I think we might discover something about what this verse means, I hope. Okay.
- 1:58:33Unknown: Well, I'm gonna chime in and say thanks for listening. Of course, Brent and I do Friday shows for
- 1:58:38I kinda feel like that old English guy says from time out of mind. It's been a lot of years, and Brent and I both enjoy it. Hope you do too and get something out of it. The things we uncover here in these discussions
- 1:58:52sometimes amazes both of us.
- 1:58:54Hopefully, we'll be back next Friday,
- 1:58:58and, we'll see in these volatile times
- 1:59:02where we are, how we can have these spiritual and truthful applications
- 1:59:06to help give us,
- 1:59:09well, to help give us a guide of a point of of of destination.
- 1:59:14You know, you don't wanna be just drifting all. You wanna point a destination, a safe harbor.
- 1:59:19Hopefully, that's what we offer. We'll see you next Friday, if not tomorrow. Before then,
- 1:59:24ciao.
- 1:59:35Unknown: Well, Roger, can I continue? It'd be good to Yes. No, please. Yeah. Yeah. He who does not take up his cross and follow me is not worthy of me, said Jesus Christ.
- 1:59:45And there's a whole appendix in the back of the
- 1:59:49back of the good book, Uncooked,
- 1:59:52on gibbetting,
- 1:59:54a common law, which in the Latin world was called crucifixion.
- 1:59:59Gibbetting is crucifixion. We practiced it in America in America for a long time. Pirates were gibbeted. Then after they were gibbeted, their bodies in America, Boston Harbor, New York Harbor,
- 2:00:10were left
- 2:00:12hanging
- 2:00:13out over the entrance as much as they so they would be seen by all the sailors coming into the harbors to see what would happen to a sailor, return to piracy, for example. In my neck of the woods, the Hart brothers,
- 2:00:27murderous couple of fellows. Terri you don't even wanna talk about what these guys were these guys were doing. They were gibbeted on the road, along the Ohio River
- 2:00:35between Owensboro
- 2:00:37well, not far far out of Owensboro, Kentucky. Well, one of them was. The other one caught was caught later down Mississippi,
- 2:00:44hung, gibbeted,
- 2:00:45and left hanging
- 2:00:47to rot
- 2:00:48as an as a statement to others. Wow. Of course,
- 2:00:52everyone
- 2:00:53who hangs on wood is cursed
- 2:00:56according to the law of God, and that's why we have hung men like that,
- 2:01:00gibbeted men. Jesus Christ, though, said,
- 2:01:04take up
- 2:01:05your gibbet. Take up, and the the word means stake. It doesn't mean cross
- 2:01:10cross piece.
- 2:01:12A note here. Let me read it. Gibbet,
- 2:01:15starao,
- 2:01:16the Greek word translated cross. That's not a good translation. It's not a cross. It's a stake.
- 2:01:22It means to drive a stake in the ground or to
- 2:01:25put a stake down into a post hole,
- 2:01:28to nail or impale a man on a stake.
- 2:01:31That's the meaning of the Greek word.
- 2:01:34Gibbit means execution by hanging on wood,
- 2:01:38also called in common law the noun gallows.
- 2:01:43Gallows.
- 2:01:44Yeah.
- 2:01:45And
- 2:01:46appendix 45 or appendix 60
- 2:01:50goes into great detail about the history of gibbeting in our common law tradition. But coming back, Jesus Christ now this is my what I know about it. I'll just say what I think, and
- 2:02:02you can take it and see what you think about it.
- 2:02:06Clearly, we know when Jesus Christ was
- 2:02:10murdered ex murdered by execution
- 2:02:13Roman execution.
- 2:02:16He was beaten half to death, which is normal course for that we have cross examination of common law to try to get at the truth. They just beat people. That's the way that. All over the world. That's the way it is. The law of the city, Babylonian law. No no cross examination, by the way, is is allowed in the non English speaking world. That they don't do that. That's our common law tradition, a feature of it.
- 2:02:38But after they did that to him,
- 2:02:41then
- 2:02:42they laid his
- 2:02:43the stake,
- 2:02:45the wood, they laid it on his back. He could hardly walk by that time, of course. Matter of fact, he was
- 2:02:51dragging his his wooden
- 2:02:54instrument of execution.
- 2:02:56They were behind him, forced him to do it, and he finally collapsed. He couldn't do it anymore because they beat him half to death before he did it, cat nine tails and all that.
- 2:03:05And there was a fellow standing there
- 2:03:08watching all this,
- 2:03:10and the Roman soldiers grabbed him and said, you pick it up and carry it.
- 2:03:16And this fellow that picked it up and carried it, what they were operating according to Roman law under Roman law, Jesus Christ references this in the Sermon on the Mountain, Matthew five through seven.
- 2:03:27He says, if a man asks you to carry a load, mile,
- 2:03:31shucks, he said, carry it too.
- 2:03:34Well, at Roman law, he was referring to what the Roman soldiers had a right to do under their law. If they were working or going anywhere and there was anybody standing around and they needed help,
- 2:03:44if they told them help me, by law, you had to help the Roman soldier or it would be a criminal violation.
- 2:03:52It's just like with sheriff Darleaf and I, we're talking, we're teaching law classes, we often reference this. If a sheriff grabs somebody and says, hey,
- 2:04:01I want you to watch my squad car while I run after this guy.
- 2:04:05And don't let anybody drive it away. If you don't do that in every state in America,
- 2:04:11that's a criminal violation.
- 2:04:13You tell
- 2:04:14Unknown: tell sheriff Daugherty got some real good presses on Alex Jones
- 2:04:18with that guy from Overstreet this week talking about him releasing
- 2:04:22some documents to congress Oh, on the election stuff. So I just wanted to make sure he you knew that.
- 2:04:29Unknown: Well, know. And I didn't know that most recent one, but I know sheriff Darr is at the forefront of has been of election fraud. But sheriff Darr, I like to have him with me while I teach and while he he he brings I just we bring he brings things up that are practical and useful, and the sheriff's office is fundamental to our common law tradition. Mhmm. Well, any rate, sheriff Darr and I point this out.
- 2:04:54Same thing was true in the Roman Empire
- 2:04:57respecting a Roman Ligonier.
- 2:04:59And so the Roman lead the Roman soldier, the Ligonier, went up and grabbed this fella off the sidelines that was watching Jesus
- 2:05:07Christ,
- 2:05:08observing the public spectacle of his humiliation.
- 2:05:11He grabbed him and said, you carry this.
- 2:05:14Now it appears clear to me that he referenced it in the Sermon on the Mount and he's talking about it here.
- 2:05:20Now I am not going to be crucified for the sins of the world. No. I'm a sinner. That ain't gonna happen. Well, what's he talking about? Well, there's a word here and I translate it most of the translations say follows me.
- 2:05:34But I always translate it
- 2:05:36follows the same roadway as me.
- 2:05:39Because the word, the Greek word doesn't just mean to follow.
- 2:05:43It stresses that you're following the same roadway. Of course, you say, well, if you're following somebody,
- 2:05:49you are following the same roadway. Yeah. That's true. But I want them this is a special word. It has a special meaning. It stresses a special thing. I wanna stress that in English. The only way I can do it is to compound make a compound word out of it.
- 2:06:03Well, we
- 2:06:05are called Christians. Why are we called Christians? Well, it just happens to be a label that landed on us in the book of Acts.
- 2:06:11But what does it mean? What it really means, it's a diminutive, and it means Christ to follow
- 2:06:17Jesus Christ. And Jesus Christ says that a lot.
- 2:06:21Follow
- 2:06:22me. Yeah. I'm not him.
- 2:06:24I'm not I can't claim his office. Roger, did you want to say something? No. I said, yes. Go ahead.
- 2:06:30But I am required
- 2:06:32to be back of him.
- 2:06:34You know, if somebody said the 12 man jury that Jesus Christ impaneled
- 2:06:39to witness the evidence of his identity as the god man,
- 2:06:43and they did.
- 2:06:44But it seems like when you read the gospel records, he's walking along, and they're right behind him. And every time he turns around, he runs into him and said, woah. Excuse me. You know? Because they're always just right there right there, and they're watching
- 2:06:58the living word of god
- 2:07:00Unknown: flesh out and obey the law of god. That's really what it's all about. That's just a confirmation of everything Yeah. That they would follow that closely and be that fastidious
- 2:07:10about everything that was happening. Yes.
- 2:07:13Unknown: And by the way, Roger, I
- 2:07:16like these interactions because it brings up what god wants for true teaching.
- 2:07:21A true teacher
- 2:07:22according to god who teaches God's law. And Roger, you made a little point a while ago and I wanted to flesh it out a little bit.
- 2:07:31Say, well, we have legal things that are legal words and non legal words. The truth is
- 2:07:37there's nothing in life that is not a matter of law, nothing,
- 2:07:42because everything in God's creation operates
- 2:07:45according to his preset laws
- 2:07:48in detail and you can't avoid it. And it is true. There are legal terms, but truly all of life, every man has to be a lawyer to the degree that he keeps himself alive and doesn't isn't stupid enough to violate the laws of nature and get himself killed. We we live by them all day every day, and these are God's laws.
- 2:08:09But the
- 2:08:10the
- 2:08:13following
- 2:08:14of Jesus Christ is what it's about. Now if we're gonna follow Jesus Christ,
- 2:08:18we're going to suffer in a very small way
- 2:08:21what he suffered.
- 2:08:23And this is a theme throughout the Bible as well.
- 2:08:26Jesus Christ said, do not be amazed, friends,
- 2:08:30if the rest of the world hates you.
- 2:08:33They hate you Yeah. Because they hate me. Yeah. And they hate you because I have
- 2:08:41chosen you
- 2:08:43out
- 2:08:44of the world. Well, that means I didn't choose them.
- 2:08:48I chose you
- 2:08:50out.
- 2:08:51And they are envious.
- 2:08:54Now, if there's anything I've learned in life, people are envious of God's people.
- 2:08:58And it's weird. It's it's
- 2:09:00weird, beyond weird. And the things that you think, well, I can testify to this. The thing there's just people you got to get away from or you'll be destroyed.
- 2:09:09Amen. And as the Bible says, it comes down to envy.
- 2:09:12Envy.
- 2:09:14Envy always, given enough time, it will result in murder according to the Bible.
- 2:09:19And the Bible says in the Old Testament
- 2:09:22rhetorically,
- 2:09:24who can stand against
- 2:09:26envy?
- 2:09:27Answer,
- 2:09:28nobody.
- 2:09:30That's why once you discern
- 2:09:33envy,
- 2:09:33you clear out. And I'll tell you, friends, frankly, not to be you don't need to be paranoid.
- 2:09:39Just know when Jesus Christ said, who are my mother, my sisters, my brothers, and said that later in Matthew 10,
- 2:09:45those that are closest to you, even your own family,
- 2:09:49will be your haters.
- 2:09:50That
- 2:09:51is true.
- 2:09:53I've learned that in life. I pass along my testimony to you. Doesn't mean I'm to be a hater,
- 2:09:59but it means that if I'm gonna stay alive and God wants me to preserve the gift of life as long as I can,
- 2:10:04I don't despise the gift he gave to me? And to despise the gift and say, oh, I wanna be murdered or some silly demonic thing like that, martyrdom does not get you salvation.
- 2:10:16Don't don't go there. That's that's paganism. That's Islam. That's Japanese Shintoism.
- 2:10:21They all wanted to die. And they're all lot of and Christianity got to that point and still is. Martyr martyrdom is salvation. No. No. Thousand times no. Don't worry about martyrdom.
- 2:10:34Don't try to be a martyr. Don't try to get a martyr's crown. What's that, Roger? Oh, we just saw tens of millions of people doing that just last week. Oh,
- 2:10:43well, just a minute. I'll finish this sentence, and I want I want you to tell me about it. It like John Wycliffe said to his 70
- 2:10:51followers, his students there at Oxford,
- 2:10:54he said, don't go looking for a murder's crown.
- 2:10:59If you just
- 2:11:00read the Bible out loud,
- 2:11:03you'll find a murder's crown soon It'll
- 2:11:06find you. You don't yeah. You don't have to go looking for it. They'll come after you, and God will destroy them. He will destroy them. And I'm saying that publicly to those that are stupid enough to go after God's people. You're gonna be destroyed.
- 2:11:20I hope God gets ahold of you and gives you the new birth,
- 2:11:23or otherwise you'll be destroyed. He'll play with you like a cat plays with a mouse. He'll make it look like you're winning, and then he'll drop the hammer on you. Yeah. Just to show
- 2:11:32that he's not in a hurry and he plays with his enemies and then he
- 2:11:37terminally destroys them like he did the 10 gods of the pantheon of Egypt, one at a time. He lines them up and knocks them down.
- 2:11:47Well,
- 2:11:47They're going through that right now. One day at a time, they're getting exposed on something important. Oh, I see your point about that. Yes. And rest assured, it's gonna happen, but god will not oh, I gotta finish this, Roger. Please. Okay. No. Go ahead. Please. I gotta I wanna finish this verse because I talk too much and I don't get to the point.
- 2:12:04You're gonna suffer if you're a Christian man, diminutive. That means you follow him. You're not him. You're not to be sacrificed for the sins of the world, but you will suffer
- 2:12:14and you will rejoice
- 2:12:16and be happy about it. Just like Jesus Christ says in Matthew chapter five, when these things happen to you and you're hated of all men,
- 2:12:26rejoice,
- 2:12:27and it says leap for joy in the Greek text,
- 2:12:30for great is your reward in heaven.
- 2:12:33You'll always be a happy man, and that's what makes
- 2:12:36envy worse than anything in the world, that you're a happy man or woman no matter what. Stand it.
- 2:12:43And, Brian, I've told the story about Billy Bray,
- 2:12:47the Cornishman. He was a Cornishman, and he got popular. And queen Victoria, they call her queen Vic, loved Billy Bray.
- 2:12:54So Billy Bray would be out in the street preaching.
- 2:12:57Well, people got tired of him, wanted to shut him up because he just you know, after a while, you don't wanna hear it if you're around him.
- 2:13:03And
- 2:13:04so here come the Bobbies to arrest him.
- 2:13:08And they grabbed him by the arms, and he and even while they had him by the arms, he just kept preaching.
- 2:13:13And
- 2:13:14and finally, one of them said, Bray, we're gonna stick you in a barrel and nail a head down.
- 2:13:21He said, fine. Fine. Go ahead. And he said, if you do,
- 2:13:25I'll poke out the bung and holler through the hole.
- 2:13:29And he said, when I walk down the streets of London,
- 2:13:33I put one foot down and it says, 'Hallelujah,'
- 2:13:36and I put the other foot down and it says, 'Amen,'
- 2:13:39and this goes on all day long.
- 2:13:43That's what God will do to men and women and for them. And the circumstances won't matter anymore because you know that you're the winner, and God is destroying his enemies all day every day, and he'll get to yours. He's playing with them right now. Don't worry about
- 2:13:59Well, Roger, yeah, go ahead.
- 2:14:01Unknown: Well, I was just gonna say I don't I think I heard someone say it's the largest largest demonstration
- 2:14:07on the death of somebody of that stature in history.
- 2:14:11I don't know the exact count.
- 2:14:13Some people say hundreds of thousands, others say millions.
- 2:14:17Some say that, you know, the situation there, the guy they were commemorating here, the one that was killed in the initial strikes,
- 2:14:24well, it's his son
- 2:14:26that's now ruling the country.
- 2:14:28And his son, as opposed to him, the big spiritual leader,
- 2:14:33his son
- 2:14:34had identified more with the Iranian
- 2:14:37guard
- 2:14:38and
- 2:14:39more militaristic
- 2:14:40and this and that and the other. And they said some people say that if they were told if they didn't get out and demonstrate
- 2:14:47that they they closed their business or whatever they were doing.
- 2:14:51Mhmm. And, but, yes, millions
- 2:14:54millions of demonstration in the streets,
- 2:14:57and the whole thing is a martyrdom deal.
- 2:15:00He's on alright. If he died, as long as he died
- 2:15:04in the execution or proliferation
- 2:15:07of this conflict. So Only in Christianity
- 2:15:11Unknown: does our god
- 2:15:13die for us. In all other all of us Babylonian,
- 2:15:17you die for your God. You suffer for your God. Now the Bible says that we'll suffer, but it's not we're not suffering for our God. Now the context of this verse, take up your cross and follow me. Let me read the verse before 35.
- 2:15:31For in fact, said Jesus Christ
- 2:15:33well, let's read 34.
- 2:15:35You all should not think
- 2:15:37that I came
- 2:15:40to cast God arranged right peace upon the land.
- 2:15:44I came not to throw altogether into wholeness, but rather I came with a dagger sword.
- 2:15:51For in fact, this Jesus Christ talking,
- 2:15:54I came to cleave apart a man down on his father
- 2:15:58and a daughter down on her mother
- 2:16:01and a daughter-in-law down on her mother-in-law.
- 2:16:04And the man's haters
- 2:16:07the Christian man's haters are his own household.
- 2:16:11And the man being fond for father or mother above betterment for me, said Jesus Christ,
- 2:16:17is not worthy of me. And the man being fond for son or daughter above me and my betterment,
- 2:16:24this is from the winterized version,
- 2:16:27is not worthy of me. And then he says, verse 38, the verse we're talking about. So what this is all about? This is not
- 2:16:35taking up your gibbet,
- 2:16:37your timber,
- 2:16:38your instrument of execution and following the same roadway back of me is not worthy of me. These things are gonna happen. It's gonna come right down to your family.
- 2:16:48I'm not saying it will in every case, but he says it that this this happens.
- 2:16:52You them hating you and get throwing you out. If you're over there in sand land
- 2:16:59and you say you're a Christian,
- 2:17:01they'll try to kill you.
- 2:17:03I've talked to men. It's happened to. They fled.
- 2:17:06And you you do that in ancient Israel among the Babylonian Jews, they'll try to kill you.
- 2:17:13They'll throw you out economically.
- 2:17:15They'll try to starve you to death. They did this you see this in the gospel records of the New Testament.
- 2:17:20Jesus Christ,
- 2:17:22why did they kill him? The Bible says why they killed him.
- 2:17:26They did it out
- 2:17:28of
- 2:17:30envy.
- 2:17:31That's it. Envy.
- 2:17:32Well, what did he have anything? No. He didn't own anything. He didn't even have a pillow to lay his head on, the Bible says, but they were envious of him. Why? Because
- 2:17:42he had the truth and they knew. They knew they didn't have it. And they couldn't even though they knew the truth, they were apostate,
- 2:17:51they said, I spit on it. They said, I don't want it.
- 2:17:55That's called apostasy,
- 2:17:56the unforgivable sin, to be fully enlightened by the spirit of God
- 2:18:01and then say, don't want it. And if there's anybody listening right now and says, wow, maybe I committed the unforgivable sin. No. No. If you want the truth,
- 2:18:10that's proof that you never committed the unforgivable sin. There are a lot of people that reject the truth that have not been enlightened of the mind by the spirit of God and the new birth. Paul the apostle was one of them. He said, when I was murdering Christians,
- 2:18:25robbing them of their property, throwing them in jail,
- 2:18:29I thought,
- 2:18:31I really thought I was serving God as a Jew.
- 2:18:35But then the spirit of God enlightened me, knocked I'd said this last week. I know I've I'm you've all heard this. Knock me out of the saddle.
- 2:18:43Read it. Acts chapter nine on the Damascus Road. Knocked him out of the saddle,
- 2:18:49blinded him,
- 2:18:50and gave him the new birth. Put him on the ground, put his nose, put his nostrils in the dirt.
- 2:18:56That's what it takes.
- 2:18:58That's how bad it is. But we've got to, under well, God will enlighten us to accept these things.
- 2:19:05Unknown: Yes. He will. I would say he was serving god. It was just the little g.
- 2:19:10Unknown: The wrong one, you're saying. Right? Yep. Yep. Yep. That's good. That's exactly right. I agree with you, Roger. Everybody
- 2:19:16well, who was it? Even the pagan, the pagan Jew. What was his name?
- 2:19:21Famous
- 2:19:22rock and roll folk singer.
- 2:19:24Unknown: Oh, Dylan. Bob Dylan. Zimmerman.
- 2:19:27Zimmerman.
- 2:19:28Unknown: Yeah. You gotta he the song. You gotta serve somebody. Yeah. Is he right? Yeah. He was right about that. You're going to worship some Mhmm. Something,
- 2:19:37somebody Mhmm. And you will whether it be a created thing or the creator or yourself or whatever. I Something.
- 2:19:44Unknown: I saw him say on sixty Minutes, he cut a deal with the big guy.
- 2:19:49I heard him say it. Okay. You can go on YouTube and find it. I guarantee you.
- 2:19:55Well, you can't be that famous and have that much. What's that, Roger? Go ahead. No. I was just gonna ask Jerry if that answered his question. You know, that's the problem around here. You ask a short question. You get this.
- 2:20:06Very in-depth answer.
- 2:20:09Unknown: Well, I I used, but see, Jerry. Yes. I got Jerry? Jerry. Go ahead. I got most of it. Thank you. Okay. Well, Jerry Jerry Jerry, tell me this. I I I'm trying to figure out how to get points across constantly.
- 2:20:23Do you think you got a point out of that? Did I make a point of the interpretation of that verse or not?
- 2:20:30Unknown: Yes. By reading the verse before
- 2:20:33by my family because I've been through that.
- 2:20:37Because I've been through that. My family,
- 2:20:39my sons and daughters,
- 2:20:42my son tried to kill me two years back. Of course Why? He was on drugs. I don't blame the drugs on him
- 2:20:53Uh-huh. Because I told him to stop doing drugs.
- 2:20:57Unknown: Yeah. Are you and you're a Christian man? Is that the way I'm understanding
- 2:21:03Unknown: I'm a follower of the most high. Yes,
- 2:21:06sir.
- 2:21:07Unknown: Are you a bible believer? I'm I'm
- 2:21:11Unknown: I am a bible believer.
- 2:21:14Unknown: I read the bible. How would you, right, how would you describe yours? I'm more into yo.
- 2:21:19Uh-huh. Go ahead.
- 2:21:21Unknown: I'm more into
- 2:21:24Christ living within me,
- 2:21:27the word being
- 2:21:29living within
- 2:21:31me
- 2:21:32to to show
- 2:21:34the man that I work around
- 2:21:38how
- 2:21:40I should
- 2:21:41you should
- 2:21:43present yourself before God.
- 2:21:45Unknown: Being a positive example. Being
- 2:21:49Unknown: a positive example is exactly what.
- 2:21:52Most of you know, because they're, I mean, all day long, I heard nothing but cuss words
- 2:21:58about
- 2:21:59woman this and woman that. And I said, hey, dude. Come on, man.
- 2:22:03Unknown: Where did you what did you do? Are you are you are you still working?
- 2:22:10Unknown: Yes, sir.
- 2:22:11Unknown: What do you do?
- 2:22:13I
- 2:22:15Unknown: am an
- 2:22:17electrician in the oil field.
- 2:22:20Unknown: Oh, no. And you're near a new you're in New Mexico. In the New Mexico oil field?
- 2:22:26Unknown: Yeah. The the Delaware Basin. Yes, sir. Carlsbad.
- 2:22:30Unknown: So okay. So that's kinda
- 2:22:33yeah. So that's we some people call that little Texas there because all the oil fields are there.
- 2:22:39Right?
- 2:22:40Unknown: Right.
- 2:22:41Unknown: Yeah. No. I know that country. Well Yes. Know. You you a bible. Believe in
- 2:22:47Unknown: reading
- 2:22:51the book reading.
- 2:22:52Because unlike you, like you said earlier in John one one,
- 2:22:56that when he came,
- 2:22:58Jesus
- 2:23:00in the beginning was the word,
- 2:23:02and the word was
- 2:23:04with God,
- 2:23:06and the word was God.
- 2:23:09Okay. The word would be Jesus Christ.
- 2:23:12Unknown: Yes.
- 2:23:13Okay. So did you grow
- 2:23:16thank you, Jerry. I don't wanna cut you off with the delay here. I'm sorry. But I'll try to keep that in mind. But did you grow up there? No.
- 2:23:26Unknown: I grew up in Texas.
- 2:23:27Unknown: A Catholic. Okay. Poor blood
- 2:23:31Okay. Are you do you speak Spanish?
- 2:23:36Unknown: Jerry? I speak I understand it real good,
- 2:23:40but my tongue gets in the way of my brain when I'm speaking.
- 2:23:44Unknown: Yeah. Yeah. Okay, Jerry. Now listen, Jerry. I want you to tell me
- 2:23:48you grew up in the Roman system. Is that right?
- 2:23:53Unknown: Right. The Roman Catholic church.
- 2:23:56Unknown: Yeah. How did you what what
- 2:23:58describe how you got out of that. What happened?
- 2:24:03Unknown: Well, okay.
- 2:24:05So
- 2:24:06my mother sent us to
- 2:24:09Dodrina
- 2:24:11Catholic school
- 2:24:13until, you know, until, like,
- 2:24:15like, you know, rebellious.
- 2:24:18When I was about 14, I said, you know what, dad?
- 2:24:23You don't know what you're talking about.
- 2:24:25You don't know anything about me.
- 2:24:28And then I left when I was 14 years old from my dad's house. I had it made. He paid the electric. He paid the water. He paid the gas. I had it made, but I didn't know I had it made.
- 2:24:39So at that time, I left everything. I don't wanna be a Catholic no more. I don't wanna be a
- 2:24:45I don't wanna be in your household no more, dad.
- 2:24:48I have I have eight brothers,
- 2:24:56six older
- 2:24:59and no, I'm I'm sorry. Five older and three younger.
- 2:25:05And
- 2:25:07the older ones were were twins and I saw my dad at the time he treated
- 2:25:12the older ones, the twins,
- 2:25:14growing up, you know, when I was born,
- 2:25:17'61.
- 2:25:20But anyway, I that's how I got out. I just said, you know, I had enough. And then I went into the drug scene. I was a prodigal son.
- 2:25:28But my dad didn't give me all the all the money, you know, because, you know, we weren't we weren't broke, but we were rich.
- 2:25:36But, anyway, I took off and
- 2:25:39then I I started. I said, you know what? I dropped out of school.
- 2:25:44And
- 2:25:45I said, you know what, man? I'm I'm going down the wrong path here.
- 2:25:50But anyway, so I reentered school. And
- 2:25:54about the
- 2:25:55ninth or tenth grade in another city.
- 2:25:59And I moved in with my older brother.
- 2:26:02And
- 2:26:03I started doing the drug scene, you know, the drinking and drug and womanizing.
- 2:26:10And
- 2:26:12when I was about 20,
- 2:26:14I don't know, 21,
- 2:26:1622,
- 2:26:18I took a bunch of of what
- 2:26:22they call, at that time, yellow sunshine pills, black mollies,
- 2:26:27speed.
- 2:26:28And
- 2:26:29I drank about two
- 2:26:32fifth of whiskey.
- 2:26:34And boy, I thought I was
- 2:26:37I was a man, you know.
- 2:26:40And then all of a sudden, something grabbed me
- 2:26:44from my I got a I had a Afro. I have then I had a big old Afro.
- 2:26:49You know? Anyway, something grabbed me by my big old Afro and lifted me up.
- 2:26:54And said, you know what, boy? If you don't straighten up,
- 2:26:58you're gonna go where you don't wanna go and then just drop
- 2:27:02it to the ground.
- 2:27:04Well, I woke up about two days later and I said, man, the heck? What happened to me?
- 2:27:11And then little by little,
- 2:27:15I started seeing this light
- 2:27:21shine everywhere everywhere except
- 2:27:23right where I was at.
- 2:27:28My wife, still my wife today
- 2:27:30at that time.
- 2:27:32We had a
- 2:27:34two year old, three year old daughter
- 2:27:38And I
- 2:27:42went looking for my wife. She wasn't at home. So I went looking everywhere, looking for her. And all I saw was a light.
- 2:27:48And my brother-in-law,
- 2:27:51my wife's sister's husband, was a taxi
- 2:27:56bible reader.
- 2:27:57Okay.
- 2:28:00I stopped at this
- 2:28:02the the light
- 2:28:05drove me he lived about two miles from where I lived at in my house.
- 2:28:10And I was just sitting there in the house and just no light.
- 2:28:15All this thing all these things going through my head, like, you're gonna die. You're gonna do this. You're gonna do that.
- 2:28:22And the lights said, get up, get in your truck, and drive.
- 2:28:26So I got in my truck, and I drove. It led me to the stop sign
- 2:28:31a mile down the road,
- 2:28:34and then
- 2:28:35looked to the left.
- 2:28:37So I looked to the left and there was this big old shining bright light.
- 2:28:42And
- 2:28:43so I just would just go to that light. So I went to that light, and it was my brother in law's house.
- 2:28:49But I'm talking about it,
- 2:28:50than the sun.
- 2:28:53And it was only me on this road in that truck.
- 2:28:58And so I went over there and knocked on that on his door, and I saw him look through the window looking like, what the fuck is that? Who is that who is that demon possessed looking curly headed nappy
- 2:29:10fella?
- 2:29:12And then my my sister-in-law got up there, and I could see her look at through the little blinds at the door. They wouldn't even open the door for me. You know?
- 2:29:21And I and I saw her looking. I think that's I think that's my my wife's name is Nelda.
- 2:29:27I could hear her say it through the door, and they had a
- 2:29:32it's still there. Their house is still there, but they they have a front door,
- 2:29:36the main door to the into the house, and then they have, like, a nook,
- 2:29:40you know, which is about a 12 by 20 foot,
- 2:29:44like a porch. And then they have a screen door. Well, I was knocking on the screen door and I could hear her
- 2:29:50loud as day. So I think that's Nildo's husband, Jerry.
- 2:29:54And my brother-in-law looked at it. No. No. That doesn't look like him.
- 2:29:59You know, I could hear him talking together
- 2:30:01through these
- 2:30:02through these
- 2:30:04walls, you know.
- 2:30:06And finally, he opened the door and came out to the other door and opened that door. What do you want? And I, you know, I
- 2:30:13whatever. I said, I'm looking for I'm looking for my wife. Where is she? I know she's here. Right. Demanding. I was making demand.
- 2:30:22No. She's not here. Come on in, he said. He said, come on in.
- 2:30:27What's what's the matter? What's wrong? And I'll tell you how it is.
- 2:30:31Because this is after I had woken up from all that
- 2:30:34all that boozing and
- 2:30:37and pill popping.
- 2:30:41And
- 2:30:43and and that was
- 2:30:45maybe
- 2:30:4719
- 2:30:5030
- 2:30:51somewhere in there.
- 2:30:54And he he said, ma'am,
- 2:30:56come on in. We sat down. No. She's not here. I don't know where she's at. Blah blah blah.
- 2:31:01Then he took out his bible.
- 2:31:03And then he took out another bible.
- 2:31:06And he handed me one and then his wife went and got her bible.
- 2:31:10And he said, hey, let's start reading.
- 2:31:13We we read Galatians
- 2:31:16four twelve.
- 2:31:21Four four twelve. Galatians four twelve is what come to mind.
- 2:31:25And
- 2:31:27since then, I'm just you know, I've been trying I've been since then,
- 2:31:34walking the path. Though I'm not I'm not a perfect man. I'm a I'm still a simple man.
- 2:31:42But if I Yeah.
- 2:31:44I Well if I do what God
- 2:31:47instructs me to do,
- 2:31:49my wife and I have six kids.
- 2:31:52Unknown: Uh-huh.
- 2:31:54Unknown: One of them Jeremiah
- 2:31:56is one my youngest boy, but he passed away. He had a motorcycle accident here in Colorado. When
- 2:32:04he had just turned he was born on my birthday,
- 2:32:07January 25, one
- 2:32:11hour after I was born.
- 2:32:13And
- 2:32:15he when he turned 18,
- 2:32:17which he would have been 26
- 2:32:22this past January.
- 2:32:26And, you know, that took a big toll on my
- 2:32:29wife and I and his family. Had to. Had to. Lord,
- 2:32:33you're you're the
- 2:32:36you're the driving force behind this. You know, it's not me.
- 2:32:40It's not my wife.
- 2:32:42It's not any other man.
- 2:32:46And but anyway, it's that's how I got out of my and I I don't say I got out of it, but that's how the Lord
- 2:32:53got me by my afro, picked me up,
- 2:32:56and knocked me down.
- 2:32:59Holy story, Jerry. Straighten up goods.
- 2:33:02You're gonna go there. Yeah. What You don't wanna go.
- 2:33:05And I don't wanna go there. Jerry?
- 2:33:07Unknown: No. I I
- 2:33:09don't wanna go there either. Jerry, so
- 2:33:11did you find a place to go to church, or do you just come here and listen, or what do you do you do anything on Sundays?
- 2:33:20Unknown: No. I I used to you know, we had that
- 2:33:24after that after that, you know, for
- 2:33:27about a week, two weeks after my brother-in-law because they had a what they had was a prayer group, a prayer home home meetings.
- 2:33:38Yeah. Right?
- 2:33:40Yeah.
- 2:33:42So and and they had several they had people from Lubbock would come,
- 2:33:47people from Slaton, Texas would come,
- 2:33:51Broad Ada,
- 2:33:53Kress,
- 2:33:53Tulia, they would come as far as Amarillo to
- 2:33:56gather in these home prayer meetings, they call
- 2:34:00Unknown: Wow.
- 2:34:01Unknown: So he invited me. He invited me. I never went, you know, for the first two or three weeks, but then after that, I started saying, man, something's going on.
- 2:34:09Anytime I would drink a beer, I would you know, I couldn't pour whiskey. I couldn't get a buzz. Anytime I would smoke marijuana,
- 2:34:17I couldn't get I couldn't get high.
- 2:34:20Anytime I I would take another pill, nothing, you know, and I you know what?
- 2:34:24This is a mess.
- 2:34:26I'm not I'm not doing that. Let's go. I've got my wife.
- 2:34:30My my
- 2:34:33he was my brother-in-law through my wife's
- 2:34:36sister.
- 2:34:38Uh-huh. So I got who's still my wife today.
- 2:34:42And I and we started going to the prayer meeting. So we went to those we had the they had those prayer meetings for well, they're still having them as far as I know.
- 2:34:52Uh-huh. But it was a a dispersion there for us.
- 2:34:56I don't know if you but, anyway,
- 2:34:58we went I started going to those prayer meetings, and I still have my that my same bible from
- 2:35:06from that time. Mhmm. Well,
- 2:35:08Unknown: town does he live in, Jerry? Jerry? What town does he live in? He lives
- 2:35:14Unknown: in San Angelo, Texas.
- 2:35:17Unknown: Oh, that's way down kinda south, isn't it?
- 2:35:21Yeah. That's San Angelo? Yeah. Southeast.
- 2:35:24Unknown: Yeah. From Carlsbad, that's east.
- 2:35:27Just kinda due east.
- 2:35:30Unknown: Oh, yeah. That's way well, halfway to halfway to San Antonio, isn't it?
- 2:35:36Unknown: Yeah. That's right. Yeah. It's a few miles from San Antonio. Yeah.
- 2:35:39Unknown: I get it. Well And it's about I'm glad you three three hundred three
- 2:35:44Unknown: hundred and something miles from me. But, anyway, that's how the lord got me out of that
- 2:35:49mess. I just started
- 2:35:51you
- 2:35:53know, I had no. I started going to these churches around here.
- 2:35:58You know,
- 2:35:59I I got into the they started, oh, you need to tithe more and you need to do this. And I said, no, man. I'm I I come here to listen to the word of God, not to see somebody beg for money.
- 2:36:11Unknown: Uh-huh.
- 2:36:12Know? Do you I was a broke Mexican at that time anyway.
- 2:36:16You were you say you were a broke Mexican?
- 2:36:20Yeah. To be tithing. Oh, I see. Yeah. Well, it's not you're not against tithing, are you, if a guy wants to tithe?
- 2:36:28No. No. No. Oh, but I get I get your point. Just begging all the time. I tell people for what it's worth. I said, look. If you want to support what we're doing, we're glad to have you. But if you can't do it and be happy about it and you if it's not irresistible
- 2:36:42to you to do it, I'd say don't do it because it'll just make you miserable. But the lord loveth the cheerful giver, the old famous verse. I believe it's true. And if you wanna do it, well, I appreciate you telling that story.
- 2:36:56Yeah. Appreciate it a lot. And stories as somebody says.
- 2:37:01Uh-huh. Go ahead.
- 2:37:03Unknown: I go back to
- 2:37:04the rich man and Lazarus.
- 2:37:07Uh-huh. You know, that rich man, he was filthy rich, and he wore a purple robe everywhere he went.
- 2:37:13And poor old Lazarus was just on the side of the road there just, you know, like, man.
- 2:37:18And he wouldn't even eat the the rich man wouldn't even throw the the crumb breads off of his table too.
- 2:37:25That the dog had to come and lick his swords to make him feel better.
- 2:37:29Unknown: Yeah.
- 2:37:31Yeah. That's a that's that's a vivid picture of a man without Jesus Christ. I that's the way I take it. And that they're nobody's exempt from being that they may look good on the outside, but they're like rotten pus on the inside, and they're trying to hide it. That's the way I feel about some of these churches. They they put up a front,
- 2:37:52Unknown: and they and then some of these speakers they're bringing in are total
- 2:37:57to me, they're more demons than they are speakers of the word.
- 2:38:01Unknown: I get it. I get it. Well, Jerry,
- 2:38:04I want do you do you listen to us on Saturdays and Sundays? I want to tell you about that.
- 2:38:10On Saturdays and Sundays Oh,
- 2:38:13okay. Well, you're tuned in. Well, not to say that I'm that I'm the guy you gotta listen to, but I
- 2:38:20if you I try to put out bible input. If you can get something out of it, I I'll let you know about it. But go ahead, Jerry.
- 2:38:28Unknown: Yeah. Even on even on Sundays,
- 2:38:31the archives.
- 2:38:33Unknown: Oh, yeah. I
- 2:38:36see what you're saying. Well, Jerry
- 2:38:39but thanks again for telling us. I think Roger appreciates it too. Yeah. I do. Thanks, Jerry. Yeah. And as they say,
- 2:38:46facts facts tell
- 2:38:49and stories sell.
- 2:38:51Yeah. And that was quite a story. I used to go on Saturday nights where I went to church in we're down LA
- 2:38:56and or Los Angeles area, San Fernando Valley, year forty some years, forty five years ago. And on every Sunday night in this church, they'd have baptism service, and they wouldn't baptize you until you told your story.
- 2:39:08And that people come out, stand there in the water waist deep, and they'd had a microphone there, and they'd tell their story.
- 2:39:14And they let the people that ran the deal would let them talk as long as they wanted.
- 2:39:19And I that was better entertainment than going to the movies to hear the stories. Yeah. When the story you just told was I was just thinking, oh, no. Now what? Now what's next? You know? Yeah.
- 2:39:30And then and then How
- 2:39:34Unknown: bad can he get? Here here's here's what's next, Brent. Okay. Here's what's next.
- 2:39:40Yeah. I have those two I have an older son that's a was a drug addict who get it cleaned out and I have it my youngest daughter
- 2:39:49that's a drug addict. Fentanyl,
- 2:39:52man. Hell. No. Anyway,
- 2:39:54three three years ago, my daughter
- 2:39:58had
- 2:39:59a baby.
- 2:40:01Alright? So my wife and I went to she had him in Albuquerque. She had to have him c section.
- 2:40:07But anyway, we went to
- 2:40:10she had him in Albuquerque. So we went to Albuquerque and
- 2:40:13every day, every day that the baby was in there and he came out addicted,
- 2:40:18you know, a drug addict baby.
- 2:40:21Yeah. Okay. So
- 2:40:23we took him. We got him. I'm raising him right now.
- 2:40:27So Oh. Three months ago,
- 2:40:31she was she had another baby three months ago.
- 2:40:36Alright? Uh-huh. And he came out drug addict.
- 2:40:39Well, CYFD,
- 2:40:43you know, we were everyday we were going to the
- 2:40:46hospital. He was born March.
- 2:40:48So March January.
- 2:40:50March, April, May, June. So he's gonna be four months. But anyway,
- 2:40:55oh, he is four months. He's four months now because we're the 20.
- 2:40:59But anyway, so
- 2:41:01when he was born,
- 2:41:03we were going every day, you know, when I could get off work. I gave him on Friday, go to Albuquerque,
- 2:41:10visit with they let us into the
- 2:41:13to see the baby.
- 2:41:15They had my daughter isolated. They wouldn't let her see my daughter in the hospital
- 2:41:20because of her addiction,
- 2:41:21you know, her drug addiction. Anyway
- 2:41:24Uh-huh. But we could see the baby. So my wife and I went over there to see the baby, see the baby. We were thinking the whole time we were there, CYFP,
- 2:41:32which is child protective custody.
- 2:41:35You know, they they would go over there and talk to them, oh, you're the grandparents and la la la la la Right?
- 2:41:41Mhmm. And
- 2:41:42it's boy, I got some stories. But anyway,
- 2:41:46Unknown: I'm not up to my rent. Yeah. I've got but, anyway You you you you got some stories. That that's a fact. No. Go ahead.
- 2:41:53Unknown: So, anyway, when the when the
- 2:41:56when we were gonna go up there we were gonna go up there April,
- 2:42:02And I think it was like the second week of April or something like that
- 2:42:06because we had just gone on April 4 and then the next week we're gonna go back up there.
- 2:42:11Well, the hospital, CYFD,
- 2:42:13called
- 2:42:14my wife
- 2:42:16and said, you are not allowed
- 2:42:19to see this baby. You are not going to come over here to this vicinity to the hospital in Albuquerque,
- 2:42:26which is four hour drive from us, four and a half hour drive from us.
- 2:42:30Yeah. I said, you are not allowed, you or your husband do not come over here. Oh, I'm like, what? What?
- 2:42:37So
- 2:42:38I said, so I started asking questions. What's what's going on? What's what's the problem? What happened? And this and that. No. Yeah. Y'all are gonna have to be y'all are gonna have to adopt this grandchild if y'all wanna even see
- 2:42:50adopt him. I said, is my grandson.
- 2:42:53I'm not gonna adopt no no grandson of mine.
- 2:42:57Alright. So they sent see why they came over to my house. We need to set up an appointment
- 2:43:02to see if y'all qualify
- 2:43:05to be responsible
- 2:43:06to take care
- 2:43:08of this baby. Alright?
- 2:43:10Well, the the agent came over to my house and started asking me all these questions. And
- 2:43:16she said, well,
- 2:43:17we have here on record that you tried to kill a a police officer in Silver City, New Mexico. I said, what?
- 2:43:24We
- 2:43:25have
- 2:43:28have a
- 2:43:29on here on record that you were arrested for DWI. Said, what? I don't even drink smoke cusser.
- 2:43:37For a Jew. And I and
