- 0:03Coco Moon: Welcome to Happy You Happy Dog. This show is for you,
- 0:08the human behind the leash. I'm Coco, Animal Naturopath, and
- 0:14this is Mana, the Mountain Boo. We are so delighted you are
- 0:20here. If your dog is attached to your hip, your cat is
- 0:25supervising your every move, and you are curious about the
- 0:30wisdom, connection, and joy that blossom from sacred
- 0:35companionship. You are in the right place. Our pets don't just
- 0:41need us; they help shape who we become. So let's chat. Hello,
- 0:47darling. Before we begin, I love you to imagine something. If our
- 0:53homes could speak, what would they say our furries feel the
- 0:59most? Peace, love, joy, busy, laughter, worry, safety. We
- 1:04spend so much time thinking about what our homes look like,
- 1:10rearranging furniture, decorating, but I wonder, what
- 1:15do they feel like? When I know my adult kids are coming to
- 1:21visit, before they arrive, I cook or bake their favorite from
- 1:26their childhood. I make sure the house says welcome home, or
- 1:32sometimes I add cinnamon and clove oil to candles to bring
- 1:38that scent of Christmas, even in the summertime, because I love
- 1:44that sense of wonder, I personally link the feeling of
- 1:49my home with smell. A pot full of chicken soup.
- 1:53In our family, all of us have a recipe that is a mix of mine and
- 2:00Coates. Mine is a little simpler and faster, and Co was a chef,
- 2:07so a little more complex. I remember Ko would shimmer the
- 2:13soup for like two days, and he would make that soup whenever I
- 2:20was feeling under the weather, the house was warmer, and I felt
- 2:26so comforted. Before I even tasted it, my heart already felt
- 2:33cared for. I do miss his soup, and here is another one: scent
- 2:39of roses. Roses have so many powerful benefits, and I just
- 2:46love roses so much. But that's a whole other conversation. But
- 2:52every time I smell roses, my whole body exhales, my heart relaxes.
- 2:59When my Ko was still around. Sometimes we have we had heated
- 3:06discussion. Okay, fights. We were just you know both so
- 3:12passionate people, and we didn't realize or we didn't notice we
- 3:19didn't notice it while we were arguing, but afterwards the
- 3:25energy of the room shifted. The air in the house has changed. I
- 3:32would find Hoku and sorta hiding under the bed, Mana in the
- 3:38corner trembling. Except only Hatter would get up on the table
- 3:45and watch us argue or fight as if he was judging, worse he did.
- 3:52They all felt it before we did. Have you ever wondered what your
- 3:59fur baby was responding to before you realized.
- 4:04The other day, Mana and I were out walking, and one of the
- 4:10neighbors called Mana over. She got some balls for her, and in
- 4:16her hand she already had the one. It was like an orange mini
- 4:22tennis ball, and I politely said, "Mana would probably like
- 4:29that squishy-looking blue-green one on the ground. The neighbor
- 4:35said, "Why? And she presented both balls in front of Manna,
- 4:41and she went straight for that squishy one. I told you so. No,
- 4:48I didn't say that. How did I know? Honestly, most of the time
- 4:54I can't explain it. Intuition is certainly part of how I
- 5:00experience the world, but I don't think that's. That's the
- 5:06whole story. When I really get into the creative flow, for me,
- 5:12it's like the world disappears. I forget time. I forget to eat.
- 5:19And then suddenly, I became aware that mana is being quietly
- 5:25watching. I didn't even notice she left my side, which she
- 5:31never does. I don't know how long she's been staring at me,
- 5:37and sometimes there's a toy by her, or she's closer to the door
- 5:44or her tree cabinet, but she's not bringing it to me. She's not
- 5:50even wagging her tail. She's just quietly looking at me. But
- 5:57as soon as I get up and stretch, she gets up on her little legs,
- 6:03but still waits for. Is it a break time, Mana? Then she'll
- 6:09smile, wag her tail, jump up on me, and do the circles. But if I
- 6:16take my eyes back to work to my computer and say, Then she will
- 6:23just call up and take a nap.
- 6:25So you see, I think after years of accumulated moments, living,
- 6:33laughing, crying, traveling, resting, and just being
- 6:39together, Mana and I become beautifully attuned to each
- 6:45other. One of the kindest lessons life keeps gifting me is
- 6:52that not everything important is visible. Some illnesses aren't
- 6:59visible. Some grief isn't visible. Some loneliness isn't
- 7:05visible. Some healing isn't visible. Someone at the store
- 7:12register can smile and still be carrying pain. Someone can laugh
- 7:19during the movie, and still feel lonely. Have you ever said I'm
- 7:26fine and not be fine at all? I have too many times, and maybe
- 7:33our relationship with our darling companions remind us of
- 7:40that every single day, because so much of what passes between
- 7:47us is never spoken, and somehow our fur babies seem perfectly
- 7:54comfortable living in that invisible world. They aren't
- 8:00waiting for us to find the perfect words or explanation.
- 8:07I wonder how many conversations we've already had without saying
- 8:14a single word. You may have heard Fang Shui or Husui. It's
- 8:20the beautiful Asian practice of arranging our homes in harmony
- 8:27with nature and energies. I started wondering, what if we
- 8:34could also arrange the emotional feeling of a home? That's how
- 8:41Far Shui was born. Furshui is not arranging furniture, but
- 8:47arranging presents. It's asking what is the emotional weather
- 8:54inside our home today, because perhaps the greatest gift we can
- 9:02give our fur babies isn't the perfect house. It's a home that
- 9:08feels like love. If your home had today's weather, what would
- 9:15it be? Sunny, stormy, foggy, peaceful, warm. Whatever. it is,
- 9:22our little ones are living inside it with us. What would
- 9:29your precious one be experiencing under that weather?
- 9:35Our four babies aren't asking for perfect homes; they are
- 9:41asking for homes where they can exhale, a place where laughter
- 9:48is familiar, where gentle voices return after difficult
- 9:54conversations, where someone notices when the sun comes
- 10:01through the wind. And sit down for just a moment. Maybe they
- 10:07are not remembering the expensive bed we bought them, or
- 10:14whether dinner was exactly on time. Maybe they are remembering
- 10:21how it felt to live beside us. Their memory fades, but that
- 10:28stays with them forever, and perhaps that's quietly shaping
- 10:34us too, because every time we choose one more deep breath, one
- 10:41more kind word, one more moment of presence.
- 10:46We aren't only changing ourselves; we are lovingly
- 10:52changing the feeling our beloved companions calls home. Perhaps
- 10:59the things that shape a home the most, or the very things we
- 11:05cannot see, until someone who loves us quietly reflects them
- 11:12back to us, and perhaps that's one of the greatest gifts our
- 11:18little ones give us-not lessons, not answers, not even wisdom,
- 11:25just their presence, their attunement, their way of seeing
- 11:31us, long before we learn to see ourselves again, before we meet
- 11:38again. Here is this week's little love message from my love
- 11:44message from your pet oracle. This week's card is I see you.
- 11:51Perhaps our fur babies have been seeing us whole All along, I see
- 11:58you. You are enough. They are here loving us through
- 12:04everything they see. I will love to hear what the two of you
- 12:10discovered together this week. Until then, take gentle care of
- 12:17yourself and your precious one, because your happiness matters.
