- 3:26[SPEAKER_07]: We came to be family's ancestral castle to enjoy a wet learn vacation.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_11]: I'm in my way, cousin, you have a chance, you know, the juggernaut's stronger than the bloody you can bind, and as for me, well, isn't it a pity that I'm immune to the ban she's vented sonic scream?
- 3:43[SPEAKER_07]: Right on both counts Blastem, every other time juggernaut fought the X-Men, it was Jean-Grayn Professor Axis mental powers that beat him in the end, but Jean's in hospital and the professors, whether in New York, which means we'll just have to make do on her own.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_07]: Maybe you're immune to be power of lack of Tom Cassidy, but let's see how you've
- 3:59[SPEAKER_09]: Mr. Joganot, you'll have to do better than that if you wish to tag Knight Krola.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_09]: Storm, what is wrong with my friend?
- 4:06[SPEAKER_09]: You screamed a moment ago as if you were in mortal pain.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_12]: Mother, help me out.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_12]: I'm so scared.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_18]: Colossus, what do you think you're doing, Bob?
- 4:14[SPEAKER_18]: I wish you help Storm.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_18]: Forget Storm, you tin dummy, where the ones who are getting stopped.

- 4:22[SPEAKER_18]: Fine by me, Bob.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_06]: I got no more time for words anyhow.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_06]: In the background, Knight-Crawler hits Juggernaut.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_06]: Rack!
- 4:29[SPEAKER_06]: Juggernaut throws Knight-Crawler into the wall, but that.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_06]: And then Wolverine grabs Colossus' arm and throws him directly into the Juggernaut.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_05]: The BAM!
- 4:37[SPEAKER_05]: Way to go, Rasky.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_05]: Do not call me that.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_05]: And do not come between me and my friends again, Wolverine.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_05]: Or by all that I hold dear Igel.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_18]: Well, I'll be.
- 4:46[SPEAKER_18]: Peter Pureheart finally gets a mad on.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_18]: Okay, Bubb.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_18]: All you gotta do is puck the time and place.
- 4:56[SPEAKER_18]: Okay, Bob, that's it.
- 5:00[SPEAKER_18]: It's slaying from the 1800s.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_18]: Oh, you got to do is pick the time and place.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_06]: Wolverine pops his claws, snicked, but Juggernaut is back with a huge punch knocking Colossus into a wall and smashing through the stone.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_06]: Cough out.
- 5:17[SPEAKER_06]: Here fools.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_13]: And now, what Colossus?
- 5:20[SPEAKER_13]: Look out.
- 5:21[SPEAKER_13]: Too late, X-Men.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_13]: Your friends already learned the hard way that nobody turns his back on Juggernaut.
- 5:26[SPEAKER_13]: Because no matter how hard you hit me, or how hard you try, don't you not can never be stopped.
- 5:32[SPEAKER_18]: That's what you say, Chubby.
- 5:34[SPEAKER_18]: But let's see how that armor of your stands up to the mutant with the adamantium claws.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_18]: Claws, a rake, over crimson armor, scream.
- 5:43[SPEAKER_09]: Oh, nice drive-over-ing, but you didn't even slow him down.
- 5:47[SPEAKER_09]: Of the five of us only Storm would even have a chance, but all she does is huddle in a corner and cry.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_09]: Storm, auroro, snap out of it, woman!
- 5:57[SPEAKER_09]: Great, please, eh?
- 5:58[SPEAKER_09]: We're being murdered, Storm.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_06]: Vivo, do you help?
- 6:01[SPEAKER_06]: Knight Crowley grabs Storm, who is sobbing.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_06]: It tries to shake her out of it, but Juggernaut drives the fist of them.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_06]: I mean, it ends up hitting the wall, wham.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_13]: I wouldn't worry about the woman goblin if I were you.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_09]: God's close, Juggie, but no Sikha, and the name's Knight Crowler.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_09]: For Stain?
- 6:18[SPEAKER_09]: It's gonna be dead when I'm finished with you.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_09]: Big talk mine here, but you have to
- 6:23[SPEAKER_09]: The cutchemy first!
- 6:24[SPEAKER_09]: The problem is, I can't keep out of his reach forever, and from all I've read, there's no way we can outfights Joker not.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_09]: Our only hope is to upthink him, if only it would die easy.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_06]: That crawler evades Joker not, running up a wall, and Joker not grabs storm by her hair in a truly brutal panel.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_06]: Go look at it.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_06]: yanking her off the ground as she screams.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_13]: All right then, since the goblin's escaped me for the moment, I'll take the girl's life instead.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_13]: Ah!
- 6:52[SPEAKER_09]: Let's go, butcha.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_09]: Let's just go to how much of a demon-light Krolachruly is.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_13]: My pleasure, Spockiers.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_13]: The girl isn't worth the effort anyway.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_06]: And if no one has ever told you, Jagerna, I'll do not touch a black woman's hair.
- 7:05[SPEAKER_06]: juggernautthro storm to the floor as Metcrawler teleports to safety.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_12]: Bam!
- 7:11[SPEAKER_12]: Samuel will be so your friends being killed.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_12]: Your friends who cry out for your aid.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_12]: And what is your reply?
- 7:17[SPEAKER_12]: I'm sorry.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_12]: Sorry.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_12]: Help them.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_12]: God forgive me.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_12]: I can't.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_06]: Storm is sobbing uncontrollably, a twisting in her mind as Storm scream tears up in long sealed doors, unlocking memories of an alien time and place of New York of Harlem in the summer of 1951.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_06]: In a flashback, we see Black civilians interacting on the quarter of 112th street in Amsterdam Avenue.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_06]: You remember it all now, don't you, Aurora, though you weren't only six months old.
- 7:45[SPEAKER_06]: David Monroe, and a green suit, a camera bag over his shoulder, exits an apartment with a broken window, his wife and R.A. and a pink blouse and blue skirt, carries a white hair, blue-eyed infant, and a yellow blanket.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_05]: So long, 112 street, I hope to never see you again.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_05]: Happy hunt!
- 8:01[SPEAKER_12]: And why not David?
- 8:02[SPEAKER_12]: I'll shit, I let the fuck go.
- 8:07[SPEAKER_12]: No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no
- 8:30[SPEAKER_05]: Look, O'Roro, only a baby, as she understands every word we're saying.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_12]: Because they were because she's a very special child.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_12]: I knew that in the instance of conception.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_06]: Now listeners, compare the next few pages on your own from X-Men number 102 to the bonus pages from classic X-Men 10, which we interspersed in this issue.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_06]: And there are a few key differences in this story.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_06]: And this narrator is going to do the best job to put them together for you to tell one of Cohease of Tale.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_06]: But worth the exploration on your own time.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_06]: The next five years were like a never ending adventure as the young correspondent, as ambitious as he was talented, oiled his trade through the Middle East and Africa, working his hardout building his reputation.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_06]: For David Monroe, it was the happiest of times.
- 9:12[SPEAKER_06]: We see the city of Cairo glowing and golden in a time of prosperity, but that unhappy corner of the world has always been a white hot cauldron.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_06]: We're all too often age old hatreds and national rivalries explode into war.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_06]: Time cut.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_06]: Five years up the line to Cairo in that fateful year of 1956, the year of the Suez war.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_06]: Nasser Arifat has had nationalized the canal you see, and the British and the French governments in concert with the Israelis had responded by invading Egypt.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_06]: In a matter of days, the three pronged attack had Egypt on the ropes, and Allied aircraft roamed the Suez skies at Will.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_06]: David, Noun, Orange, and Red, and Endare, and Blue and White, clutch five-year-old Aurora dressed in a pretty blue dress.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_06]: Blue bow in her long-flowing white hair, as planes fly outside their window in an aerial battle.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_05]: The French are bombing the main highway.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_05]: Those planes were after a Egyptian armored column on the highway, and our house is
- 10:09[SPEAKER_05]: you got to get out of here in Dari and fast as soon as the attack breaks, we'll head into the city.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_05]: I'll leave you at the American embassy until then, the safest place for us is in this cellar.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_05]: Don't worry, love.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_05]: Everything's going to work out, just fine.
- 10:22[SPEAKER_06]: But as David Monroe hustled his family away from the window, a French vout tour fighter bomber caught a flack burst as it swung into its strafing run.
- 10:31[SPEAKER_06]: Chicago pilot ejected and was taken prisoner
- 10:37[SPEAKER_06]: with a full load of bombs and fuel.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_06]: Oh my god, I'm sorry.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_06]: Or I will get down.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_06]: I'll keep you safe.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_06]: Lair, the plane crashes fully into the house, shabram, darkness, and pain.
- 10:49[SPEAKER_06]: Eventually of body and soul, pain, that would not be ignored as it forced you away.
- 10:54[SPEAKER_06]: Young Aurora sees her mother's hand and the wreckage broken lifeless wearing purple bracelets and a golden wedding ring.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_06]: This is this is giving a little what's his name the little dinosaur from the land before time so
- 11:16[SPEAKER_06]: There was darkness again, blessed nothingness, but when you awakened, your mother's body was gone and you were alone with rock and rubble jammed in close around you ceiling you in.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_06]: Somehow though you managed to pull yourself free, you haunted the gutters and back alleys for a time until some of Ahmed Elgabar's search engines found you.
- 11:33[SPEAKER_06]: The old man took you in and taught you how to survive.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_06]: Within a year, you were the finest beggars, sneak thief in all Cairo.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_06]: But then in your 12th year, something, some inner need began pulling yourself away from Egypt and the Sahara.
- 11:46[SPEAKER_06]: You walked for a year, 2,000 miles from Cairo to the Sarangatti plain and though you'd never seen the vote before, you knew you had come home.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_06]: Images show us a rural climbing from the wreckage being found by vibranly colored kids that she cowers behind garbage cans.
- 12:01[SPEAKER_06]: being taken in front of Elgobar, who wears an orange turban and blue vest sitting against a pile of pillows.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_06]: We see her in shredded green robes walking barefoot through the wilderness with a walking stick, a pack on her shoulder, and knife at her hip.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_06]: We see a roro viewing butterflies and waterfalls in the green wilderness.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_06]: It was paradise, and she made the most of it.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_06]: During her great trek, she had discovered that something far more than her white hair and blue eyes made her special, it's not unique.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_06]: By concentrating, she could bend the winds to her will so that she could fly.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_06]: We see a rawro naked, her long hair covering her body.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_06]: Diving over a waterfall, landing, and then launching herself into flight in the sky.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_06]: At first, she had not the slightest notion of what she would do with the rest of her life, beyond ensuring her survival and some creature comforts, into local tribal elders who'd learned of her presence and heard rumors of her fantastic powers, asked for her help to combat the drought that ravaged their land.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_06]: It never entered her mind to refuse.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_06]: If her power could do some good, that would be her pleasure.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_06]: Aurora and a blue dress, living in a treehouse, flies into the clouds and smiles, her eyes gone stark white as she rejoices in the falling rain, lightning flowing from her fingertips.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_06]: There you had remained, the girl growing into a woman, all memories of your past life fading with the passage of the years, contending your solitude.
- 13:18[SPEAKER_06]: until Charles Xavier had come to lead the goddess from her nest, an ocean away that self-same professor Xavier stirs.
- 13:26[SPEAKER_06]: The image of Professor X recruiting storm from giant size X-Men number one shifts to Xavier now in the present back in the hospital where Jean Grey is convalescing.
- 13:36[SPEAKER_17]: What?
- 13:37[SPEAKER_17]: I thought I heard someone call my name, but so faint, far away, it's storm.
- 13:42[SPEAKER_17]: Images flooding my senses through the telepathic rapport I share with my students.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_17]: I can feel her pain and fear, and dominating every thought is the face of Cain Markle.
- 13:54[SPEAKER_06]: Professor X, in a green suit jacket, wheels into jeans, room, fresh flowers, or at her bedside, and her boyfriend Scott Summers in a burgundy suit sits on one side of her bed, while
- 14:06[SPEAKER_17]: Scott, Scott, it is imperative I speak with you out in the corridor.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_15]: Um, certainly professor, I'll be right with you.
- 14:12[SPEAKER_01]: But in the meantime, this is the perfect opportunity to introduce my new York roommate, Charles Xavier, meet Miss D. Knight.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_17]: My pleasure.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_17]: Scott, if you please, every second is vital.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I'll be!
- 14:24[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sorry for that, Misty.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_01]: I've never seen the professor this broskin rude before.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_12]: That's okay.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_12]: It's you.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_12]: I'm worried about something's been eating you up inside.
- 14:35[SPEAKER_12]: Have you seen that space boy?
- 14:36[SPEAKER_12]: What is it, Jean?
- 14:37[SPEAKER_12]: I'd like to tell.
- 14:38[SPEAKER_00]: I know.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_01]: So tell me, Misty night, how would you feel if you'd died, then brought yourself back to life?
- 14:45[SPEAKER_06]: Jean's head surrounds with pink telekinetic energy in the wall, briefly seems to burn behind her as she glows with power.
- 14:52[SPEAKER_06]: Place cut to a nearby anti-rume.
- 14:54[SPEAKER_06]: The X-Men have been ambushed by Juggernaut.
- 14:57[SPEAKER_17]: You must leave for Ireland immediately and give them what assistance you can.
- 15:01[SPEAKER_15]: No professor, not this time, I'm staying here at the hospital until Jean is out of danger.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_17]: You're what?
- 15:08[SPEAKER_17]: You're putting the life of one woman ahead of those of your fellow X-Men?
- 15:12[SPEAKER_15]: I am, because that woman is the most important thing in my life.
- 15:15[SPEAKER_15]: Besides, there's nothing I can do to help the X-Men.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_15]: No way I can get to them in the time to make a difference.
- 15:21[SPEAKER_15]: And you yourself had said that sooner or later, the new team is going to have to fight on its own.
- 15:26[SPEAKER_15]: Calis says that sounds, it looks like that time is now.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_16]: How dare you?
- 15:30[SPEAKER_16]: You ungrateful, unspeakable car.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_16]: I took you in, gave you, gave you, I scot.
- 15:38[SPEAKER_06]: Professor, what is it?
- 15:39[SPEAKER_16]: No, not my mind, not again.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_06]: And just for continuity, Xavier adopted Cyclops from the orphanage.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_16]: And he's been, what, yeah, what I'm sure.
- 15:50[SPEAKER_13]: I'll tell it over his hand forever.
- 15:53[SPEAKER_06]: Madness Images, sensations, emotions, running riot in Charles Xavier's mind as he sees a bizarre alien woman and insectoid arbor looking back at him from the mirror.
- 16:04[SPEAKER_16]: The face in the mirror!
- 16:06[SPEAKER_16]: Oh my god, Scott, it's the face in my dream!
- 16:08[SPEAKER_16]: Who is this girl I see?
- 16:11[SPEAKER_16]: Ah, she's so beautiful!
- 16:13[SPEAKER_06]: Reality twists away from him into something almost beyond comprehension.
- 16:18[SPEAKER_06]: He beholds an alien sky and knows that it is not imagination, but vision through another's eyes.
- 16:24[SPEAKER_06]: In a psychic expanse that resembles space, Charles Xavier comes face to face with the mysterious woman.
- 16:29[SPEAKER_06]: Who are you?
- 16:31[SPEAKER_06]: He senses a confusion in the alien's thoughts as great as his own.
- 16:34[SPEAKER_16]: Why do you torment me?
- 16:36[SPEAKER_06]: But there is fear as well.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_06]: Hungry, ravining, insatiable.
- 16:41[SPEAKER_06]: This sense of being overwhelmed, swept along away on the crest of a title wave, no longer in control of your own destiny.
- 16:48[SPEAKER_16]: Why won't you leave me alone?
- 16:50[SPEAKER_16]: What do you want of me?
- 16:51[SPEAKER_06]: Xavier reaches toward the woman's hand.
- 16:54[SPEAKER_06]: It glows red.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_06]: And he wakes up back in the hospital, having fallen to the floor, where Cyclops and Moira, McTaggart, in green, worry over him.
- 17:03[SPEAKER_15]: Professor Xavier,
- 17:04[SPEAKER_15]: Sir?
- 17:06[SPEAKER_15]: What?
- 17:06[SPEAKER_15]: I did away, boy.
- 17:08[SPEAKER_15]: Mrs. Mitagar, he had some sort of seizure, like nothing I've ever seen.
- 17:12[SPEAKER_15]: I have, that's why he summoned me.
- 17:14[SPEAKER_15]: I don't care what the professor told us, you're no housekeeper.
- 17:18[SPEAKER_11]: Who I am, doesn't matter right now.
- 17:21[SPEAKER_11]: It's Charlie, who's important.
- 17:23[SPEAKER_11]: You're alright, love.
- 17:24[SPEAKER_11]: I have you.
- 17:26[SPEAKER_11]: I'll protect you.
- 17:27[SPEAKER_11]: The dream's gone.
- 17:28[SPEAKER_11]: There's nothing to be afraid of.
- 17:30[SPEAKER_17]: So close, almost saw, face.
- 17:33[SPEAKER_11]: What's happening?
- 17:34[SPEAKER_11]: Well, either charles, charles don't do that again.
- 17:37[SPEAKER_11]: Well, either charles means becoming a balanced and he's slipping headlong into madness or he's interfacing with another consciousness to be honest, Scott, a truly cannessy which is worse.
- 17:50[SPEAKER_11]: Well.
- 17:51[SPEAKER_06]: We hate to do this, but back at Cassidy keep things are going from bad to worse.
- 17:55[SPEAKER_06]: Matt crawler leaps out of the way, sticking to the wall with the thick as Juggernaut punches the floor with a shock.
- 18:02[SPEAKER_09]: And still you impissed Jack Rabbit.
- 18:04[SPEAKER_09]: Not on your life, Juggie.
- 18:06[SPEAKER_09]: Oh, mine for Tatmata.
- 18:08[SPEAKER_09]: It's no good cut.
- 18:09[SPEAKER_09]: Nothing's working.
- 18:10[SPEAKER_09]: The heart of the hit Juggernaut, the less he seems to feel it.
- 18:13[SPEAKER_09]: With Storm, we might have had the chance, but Tatmatic,
- 18:19[SPEAKER_18]: And I ain't gonna quit until I'm dead.
- 18:22[SPEAKER_18]: Oh no.
- 18:22[SPEAKER_06]: Wolverine!
- 18:23[SPEAKER_06]: No!
- 18:24[SPEAKER_06]: That can easily be arranged.
- 18:25[SPEAKER_06]: You arrogant pit squeak.
- 18:27[SPEAKER_06]: Wolverine slashes at Juggernaut with his claws, but he gets back slapped into the ground.
- 18:32[SPEAKER_09]: Racked Wolverine!
- 18:33[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah?
- 18:34[SPEAKER_09]: In another moment, Juggernaut will deliver the killing blow.
- 18:37[SPEAKER_09]: So I've got to make sure that moment never happens.
- 18:40[SPEAKER_06]: My crawler grabs a lit brazier from the chandelier and throws it in Juggernaut's face.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah!
- 18:46[SPEAKER_11]: Curse you goblin!
- 18:47[SPEAKER_11]: You've hurt me!
- 18:48[SPEAKER_11]: That he has, and it'll be back Tom's pleasure to see that Nightcrawler pays for the 1,000 fold.
- 18:54[SPEAKER_11]: You see, full.
- 18:55[SPEAKER_11]: Well, Ben, she is as immune to my mood powers as I am to his you Nightcrawler are nuts.
- 19:01[SPEAKER_06]: And in the background, Banshee hits Black Tom, then Black Tom pins Banshee underneath him on the ground, Banshee fires a blast through his shellily, hitting Nightcrawler in the back.
- 19:12[SPEAKER_06]: He falls to the floor, thought, he falls hard and does not move again.
- 19:16[SPEAKER_06]: And as Kurt lands in Shadow, half of his body disappears, melding into the blackness.
- 19:21[SPEAKER_06]: However, as Nightcrawler lies unconscious, perhaps dying, the battle moves on without him.
- 19:25[SPEAKER_06]: But a group of leprecongs are there to take him away through a secret tunnel, not that anyone notices.
- 19:32[SPEAKER_00]: Come on then be quick about it!
- 19:34[SPEAKER_00]: We've no time to spare!
- 19:35[SPEAKER_00]: Since, preserve us all!
- 19:37[SPEAKER_00]: Will you look at that part of the lads and... Invisible!
- 19:40[SPEAKER_00]: Let's get them out to here!
- 19:42[SPEAKER_06]: Well, that was adorable!
- 19:45[SPEAKER_13]: I totally forgot he goes like invisible in shadow.
- 19:47[SPEAKER_13]: Oh my god.
- 19:49[SPEAKER_06]: Then she sweeps his feet and knocks Tom over.
- 19:52[SPEAKER_11]: Block.
- 19:52[SPEAKER_11]: Oh, Sean.
- 19:54[SPEAKER_11]: Machine.
- 19:55[SPEAKER_11]: Where's the band she evolved?
- 19:56[SPEAKER_11]: The interpolage and who sent me to prison for life?
- 19:59[SPEAKER_11]: What are you talking about?
- 20:00[SPEAKER_11]: Oh, that's entree, sorry.
- 20:01[SPEAKER_07]: What are you talking about?
- 20:02[SPEAKER_07]: What are you talking about?
- 20:03[SPEAKER_11]: Give asked me no questions, cousin, not even the obvious ones, such as who freed me and Juggernaut from prison, who gave us the money and knowledge to take this castle and turn it into death trap.
- 20:16[SPEAKER_07]: Why you dirty?
- 20:17[SPEAKER_11]: In short, who paid us to kill the X-Men, such a pity you'll die without ever knowing?
- 20:23[SPEAKER_11]: Well, it was Eric the Red everybody, we'll get there soon.
- 20:26[SPEAKER_06]: Tom gets back to his feet and jams his shaleily ride into Banshee's gut.
- 20:31[SPEAKER_06]: Kdaem!
- 20:32[SPEAKER_06]: Then it's a swung stick to the head, black.
- 20:35[SPEAKER_11]: I admit that you're unexpected arrival forced us to move head to schedule, but the address also same.
- 20:40[SPEAKER_11]: Our vengeance made fat much sweeter by the fact that we're making a tidy profit at the same time.
- 20:46[SPEAKER_13]: true enough.
- 20:47[SPEAKER_13]: But my vengeance won't be complete until my hated stepbrother Charles Xavier lies dead at my feet.
- 20:53[SPEAKER_05]: That will never be monster because to get to Xavier you must defeat Colossus and I will not be beaten.
- 21:01[SPEAKER_05]: Colossus hits the juggernaut with a massive force.
- 21:03[SPEAKER_05]: Bam!
- 21:04[SPEAKER_05]: Get up juggernaut and I will knock you down again.
- 21:07[SPEAKER_13]: You still haven't gotten the message.
- 21:13[SPEAKER_13]: flattened me a hundred times, and I'll face you the hundred and first as strong and fresh as ever.
- 21:18[SPEAKER_06]: Juggernaut punches the floor, breaking it, and it sends Colossus flying.
- 21:23[SPEAKER_06]: Boom!
- 21:23[SPEAKER_06]: Colossus then does a summer salt in midair, and kicks Juggernaut in the gut.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_05]: will not defeat me monster, and while my acrobatic skill is not of Olympic caliber, it is more than sufficient to curl you back into the wall.
- 21:37[SPEAKER_06]: Bad move, Colossus, because this was been hit before, and it's getting very tired.
- 21:43[SPEAKER_06]: Crumble!
- 21:44[SPEAKER_06]: Recow!
- 21:45[SPEAKER_12]: Colossus, the wall, it's collapsing here.
- 21:48[SPEAKER_06]: In the wreckage, Juggernaut holds up Colossus' limp form.
- 21:52[SPEAKER_06]: A storm moves toward him in sheer panic, summoning lightning from her fingertips.
- 21:56[SPEAKER_06]: She begins blasting Juggernaut with lightning blasts.
- 21:59[SPEAKER_13]: Cause, heck, you got guts, kid.
- 22:01[SPEAKER_13]: I'll give you that.
- 22:02[SPEAKER_13]: But only one thing matters when you're fighting the Juggernaut.
- 22:05[SPEAKER_13]: And that's power.
- 22:06[SPEAKER_12]: Oh, Peter.
- 22:07[SPEAKER_12]: they'll do.
- 22:08[SPEAKER_12]: They'll all the X-Men.
- 22:09[SPEAKER_12]: I must make supreme effort conquer my fear.
- 22:14[SPEAKER_12]: You speak of power juggernaut.
- 22:16[SPEAKER_12]: Behold, as storm teaches you the meaning of the word.
- 22:20[SPEAKER_13]: I'm waiting lady, but if that's your best shot, I better make this short and sweet.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_12]: He's hurling my forceful back at me, and to we, to resist, I, they're beaten Black Tom.
- 22:32[SPEAKER_13]: The only one left who matters is Xavier, and I know how to get to him.
- 22:36[SPEAKER_13]: He's got a constant telepathic rapport with the students.
- 22:39[SPEAKER_13]: If they're hurt, he feels it.
- 22:41[SPEAKER_13]: Heard them batting enough, and Charles Xavier will walk into our death trap as meek and defenseless as a lamb to the slaughter.
- 22:48[SPEAKER_06]: Let
- 22:48[SPEAKER_06]: Black Tom Cassidy smiles ear to ear as juggernaut holds up the unconscious forms of storm and colossus in his hands.
- 22:55[SPEAKER_06]: Next issue, the fall of the tower.
- 22:58[SPEAKER_06]: But first, we have a little story called The Gift from Classic X-Men Number 9 for you from May 1987.
- 23:05[SPEAKER_06]: This is the backup story, Chris Claremont, John Bolton, Glinnis Oliver on Colors, Tom or Zikowski on Letters, Annie Nesentee and Terry Cavanaugh are the editors and
- 23:15[SPEAKER_06]: Can I get a quick show of hands from the jury?
- 23:17[SPEAKER_06]: Have any of you not read this story or script before?
- 23:19[SPEAKER_06]: Okay, so we got a few of you that are okay.
- 23:22[SPEAKER_06]: I'm excited, this is, this is, okay.
- 23:25[SPEAKER_06]: Everybody welcome to the Kevin and Shonarhani show for the next little one.
- 23:29[SPEAKER_06]: Wednesday morning, 3 a.m., the sounds of the city are muted in these last haunted hours before dawn, the witching time.
- 23:36[SPEAKER_06]: When as many ghosts as people are said to walk the earth, a radio is playing out by the nurse's station, vintage folk, in keeping with the moment, and the mood as Simon and Garfunkel counterpoint themselves through Scarborough Fair.
- 23:48[SPEAKER_06]: a Christmas tree stands in the plaza below.
- 23:51[SPEAKER_06]: He's been staring at it for hours.
- 23:53[SPEAKER_06]: It's past 12 midnight.
- 23:55[SPEAKER_06]: The New Year well and truly begun.
- 23:57[SPEAKER_06]: Why he wonders without really caring?
- 23:59[SPEAKER_06]: Hasn't anyone taken the tree down?
- 24:01[SPEAKER_06]: The tree's supposed to signify a time of celebration and joy.
- 24:05[SPEAKER_06]: Yet there is none in Kurt Wagner's heart.
- 24:07[SPEAKER_06]: He's been waiting too long, as have all the X-Men for a word of their stricken teammate Jean Grey, who brought them home from space probably at the cost of her own life.
- 24:16[SPEAKER_06]: In the hospital waiting room, Xavier's under blanket on the couch, Wolverine is brooding Moira, has fallen asleep, cuddled up on Banshee, Storm is asleep, cross-legged on the couch.
- 24:26[SPEAKER_06]: Colossus is sitting on the floor, Cyclops Paces, Night Crawler, is looking out the window.
- 24:30[SPEAKER_06]: The table is littered with half-drunk coffee cups and newspapers.
- 24:34[SPEAKER_06]: Kurt's image inducer makes him look white with a slim mustache, but the reflection of the blue fuzzy of stairs back at him from the glass.
- 24:42[SPEAKER_06]: He visited the hospital chapel, lit candles, offered prayers, Jean remains unconscious, deep in a coma, yet neither has she done it.
- 24:50[SPEAKER_06]: He wants to do more, and chiefs as the whole team does at the knowledge that he can't.
- 24:55[SPEAKER_06]: Then, bam, in a pop of smoke and noise some flame he vanishes from the room, that's his power, the genetic quirk, which makes him more than human.
- 25:05[SPEAKER_06]: And in the bargain gives him the features of a roguish devil, his talent, to teleport instantaneously from one spot to another.
- 25:12[SPEAKER_06]: The others have powers too, and all have been banded together by their teacher Charles Xavier into a team of superheroes.
- 25:19[SPEAKER_06]: In his blue form, Nightcrawler crouches on the top of a lamp post outside near the Christmas tree in the snow, and he sees a lone child sitting on a bench.
- 25:29[SPEAKER_06]: The boy's name we will soon learn is Daniel Cameron.
- 25:32[SPEAKER_09]: And Heaven's name have we here?
- 25:34[SPEAKER_09]: Pauli to think he looks miserable.
- 25:36[SPEAKER_09]: Small vanda considering the code.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_09]: But something is moving in the tree itself.
- 25:41[SPEAKER_06]: Russell Russell sketchshake, Russell rattle, Biblical chase sketch rattle, Russell.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_03]: What?
- 25:46[SPEAKER_03]: In the tree making noise.
- 25:48[SPEAKER_03]: It's getting louder.
- 25:49[SPEAKER_03]: Coming closer.
- 25:50[SPEAKER_06]: Oh no.
- 25:52[SPEAKER_03]: It's so cute.
- 25:54[SPEAKER_06]: A bird flies out of the tree and the child panics falling over the bench, which causes night crawler to laugh.
- 26:00[SPEAKER_06]: Is that your one line as the bird, please go ahead.
- 26:03[SPEAKER_06]: That bird just took his testosterone.
- 26:07[SPEAKER_03]: Hey, get off of me!
- 26:08[SPEAKER_03]: Leave me alone!
- 26:09[SPEAKER_03]: Go a day!
- 26:10[SPEAKER_03]: Stupid bird!
- 26:11[SPEAKER_03]: Stupid meat for letting it spook me!
- 26:13[SPEAKER_03]: Glad no one was around to see.
- 26:19[SPEAKER_06]: There!
- 26:20[SPEAKER_06]: Nightcrawler has indigo skin, at night in shadows, that makes him virtually invisible.
- 26:25[SPEAKER_06]: Bamf!
- 26:25[SPEAKER_06]: The mutant had been difficult to see against the night sky, but he suddenly appears Caucasian again.
- 26:30[SPEAKER_06]: His image inducer activated as he stands behind the boy.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_09]: What the heck?
- 26:34[SPEAKER_09]: Pardon my intrusion, but onto a bit young, as the hour is extremely late, to be haunting disnebelhood, should you not be a home in bed?
- 26:44[SPEAKER_09]: I suppose.
- 26:45[SPEAKER_03]: But I'm waiting for someone, do you mind?
- 26:47[SPEAKER_09]: He must be like me, with the relatively friend as a patient here.
- 26:51[SPEAKER_09]: You would be more comfortable inside.
- 26:54[SPEAKER_03]: They'll place for me in there.
- 26:55[SPEAKER_03]: Kids are only allowed in a sickle.
- 26:57[SPEAKER_03]: They're afraid we'll wreck the hospital or something.
- 27:00[SPEAKER_03]: Like we don't know how to behave, jerks.
- 27:02[SPEAKER_03]: Sometimes kids know better than adults.
- 27:04[SPEAKER_09]: What's really going on?
- 27:05[SPEAKER_09]: What shall I do?
- 27:07[SPEAKER_09]: I can't leave him here.
- 27:08[SPEAKER_09]: But how to get him back there he belongs.
- 27:10[SPEAKER_09]: I don't even know his name.
- 27:12[SPEAKER_05]: What the heck's going on out here?
- 27:13[SPEAKER_05]: How do you people do it?
- 27:14[SPEAKER_05]: It's the private property.
- 27:16[SPEAKER_05]: You ain't supposed to be out here.
- 27:17[SPEAKER_05]: I can explain.
- 27:18[SPEAKER_05]: I don't want to hear it.
- 27:20[SPEAKER_05]: Plows us calls from a night like the sign says, how do you poke it in or anyway?
- 27:25[SPEAKER_05]: With a decent door slot tight, but I'm moving along and don't let me catch you here again.
- 27:30[SPEAKER_05]: Or next time, I'll call up a cops.
- 27:32[SPEAKER_06]: Soon, my crawler takes the boy to a nearby diner for a bite to eat.
- 27:37[SPEAKER_03]: Never much like that stupid place.
- 27:39[SPEAKER_03]: Nothing good ever came out of it, that's for sure.
- 27:42[SPEAKER_09]: It's hardly that awful.
- 27:43[SPEAKER_09]: What do you know?
- 27:44[SPEAKER_09]: That growing boys need that nourishment, so try some pie and hot cocoa.
- 27:49[SPEAKER_09]: It's delicious!
- 27:50[SPEAKER_09]: Thanks, but I'm not hungry.
- 27:52[SPEAKER_09]: My name is Kurt Wagner.
- 27:53[SPEAKER_09]: Daniel Cameron.
- 27:54[SPEAKER_09]: You know Daniel, I have a very dear friend in the intensive care unit in critical condition.
- 28:00[SPEAKER_09]: I don't know whether she'll live or die.
- 28:03[SPEAKER_09]: She's lucky in a veil.
- 28:04[SPEAKER_09]: On conscious as she is, at least she's out of it.
- 28:07[SPEAKER_09]: I have to wait watching the days drift past, counting the seconds, hoping for the best, imagining the worst, wondering why it's taking so long.
- 28:16[SPEAKER_09]: Isn't much better when you're sick, except you got more at stake?
- 28:19[SPEAKER_09]: You sound like you speak from experience.
- 28:22[SPEAKER_09]: Ancient history, over and down with.
- 28:24[SPEAKER_09]: What more reason it seems to me, for you to be snug a bed at home.
- 28:29[SPEAKER_09]: You're trying for relapse?
- 28:31[SPEAKER_09]: That'll be the day.
- 28:32[SPEAKER_09]: Besides, it isn't safe.
- 28:34[SPEAKER_03]: Says who?
- 28:35[SPEAKER_03]: I stayed home like the perfect little boy my whole life.
- 28:38[SPEAKER_03]: I live here, Mr. Wagner.
- 28:39[SPEAKER_03]: This city is my home.
- 28:41[SPEAKER_03]: I should be scared of it.
- 28:42[SPEAKER_09]: Oh, not scared, Daniel.
- 28:44[SPEAKER_09]: Careful.
- 28:44[SPEAKER_09]: Respectful of its dangers.
- 28:47[SPEAKER_09]: By rights, you should not be here with me.
- 28:49[SPEAKER_09]: We only just met.
- 28:50[SPEAKER_09]: You've no idea of what kind of person I am.
- 28:53[SPEAKER_09]: Vator or not, I can be trusted that I can be your good fortune.
- 28:57[SPEAKER_09]: Next time, you might not be so lucky.
- 28:59[SPEAKER_09]: What are your parents?
- 29:00[SPEAKER_09]: The certain to be upset once they find you missing.
- 29:02[SPEAKER_02]: Let's no big deal then, where I am.
- 29:05[SPEAKER_02]: They allow this?
- 29:06[SPEAKER_02]: They don't care?
- 29:08[SPEAKER_02]: Kind of parents a day.
- 29:09[SPEAKER_09]: Never the less young man.
- 29:10[SPEAKER_09]: I would feel better if you were home.
- 29:13[SPEAKER_09]: Suit yourself.
- 29:14[SPEAKER_09]: Makes no difference to me.
- 29:15[SPEAKER_09]: Typical.
- 29:16[SPEAKER_09]: Then you need one most.
- 29:17[SPEAKER_09]: There is no taxi to be seen.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_09]: It's okay, I'd rather walk, it isn't far, only straight cross town to the west side.
- 29:24[SPEAKER_06]: Shall we go then?
- 29:25[SPEAKER_06]: Christmas displays, still fill many store fronts, casting Manhattan's man-made canyons, in all manner of fairy fantasy lights and colors.
- 29:35[SPEAKER_09]: Kind of fun, Nickva, having the city to ourselves?
- 29:38[SPEAKER_09]: Nothing I say seems to rest a lot, but it has to be a way to bring him out of his shell to lighten his sad mood, perhaps.
- 29:46[SPEAKER_09]: You know Daniel, I used to be in the circus.
- 29:49[SPEAKER_09]: No fooling!
- 29:50[SPEAKER_09]: Lived in one of my whole life until I came to America.
- 29:54[SPEAKER_09]: Neat!
- 29:54[SPEAKER_09]: You should try walking like this.
- 29:56[SPEAKER_09]: It's quite refreshing.
- 29:58[SPEAKER_09]: Good for the circulation and one sense of balance.
- 30:02[SPEAKER_06]: The image inducer still activated.
- 30:03[SPEAKER_06]: Kurt Wagner flips over on his hands, walking forward his feet in the air.
- 30:08[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah!
- 30:08[SPEAKER_03]: Until a car splashes gunk in your face, then you're a mess.
- 30:12[SPEAKER_09]: Ah, it's only dirt.
- 30:14[SPEAKER_03]: It'll wash off.
- 30:15[SPEAKER_03]: I'm bored with the streets.
- 30:16[SPEAKER_06]: I'm taking the shortcut through Central Park.
- 30:18[SPEAKER_06]: The boy bolts across the street into the park and Kurt quickly follows Bamf.
- 30:23[SPEAKER_06]: Then you'll know.
- 30:24[SPEAKER_09]: Stay by me.
- 30:25[SPEAKER_09]: Going in there is asking for trouble.
- 30:27[SPEAKER_09]: Blast.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_09]: He isn't listening.
- 30:29[SPEAKER_09]: Served him right if I let him go.
- 30:31[SPEAKER_09]: But I've found.
- 30:32[SPEAKER_09]: I can't.
- 30:33[SPEAKER_03]: Catch me if you can, Mr. Slop-Og!
- 30:35[SPEAKER_06]: If you insist, consider yourself caught.
- 30:38[SPEAKER_06]: Daniel rushes into a clearing and finds Nightcrawler lounging peacefully against a rock.
- 30:43[SPEAKER_06]: It's very bugs-buddy, actually.
- 30:45[SPEAKER_06]: Now that I'm thinking about it.
- 30:46[SPEAKER_06]: What are you here?
- 30:48[SPEAKER_06]: How?
- 30:49[SPEAKER_06]: Nobody gets me that easy.
- 30:50[SPEAKER_06]: Daniel runs again, but there's Nightcrawler again, waiting on a park bench ahead of him.
- 30:54[SPEAKER_06]: This is the first time.
- 30:56[SPEAKER_06]: How'd you do that?
- 30:57[SPEAKER_06]: Always beat me everywhere.
- 30:59[SPEAKER_06]: Magic, of course.
- 31:00[SPEAKER_06]: Want to see some more?
- 31:01[SPEAKER_06]: Nightcrawler pulls out some tennis balls out of his pockets and begins juggling.
- 31:05[SPEAKER_06]: When Daniel tries to catch a ball, he falls on the ground.
- 31:09[SPEAKER_06]: Yes, it is.
- 31:10[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, I can hear my balls.
- 31:12[SPEAKER_06]: Let's go.
- 31:12[SPEAKER_04]: Exactly.
- 31:14[SPEAKER_04]: I'm glad they specified what kind of balls.
- 31:17[SPEAKER_04]: I think this one, this issue was written before Stranger Danger, clearly.
- 31:24[SPEAKER_09]: A tennis ball, big deal.
- 31:26[SPEAKER_09]: It isn't the tools, but what you make with them.
- 31:29[SPEAKER_09]: Juggling isn't magic.
- 31:30[SPEAKER_09]: Then you try it.
- 31:31[SPEAKER_09]: I can't.
- 31:32[SPEAKER_09]: I don't know how.
- 31:32[SPEAKER_09]: Nice to die at first.
- 31:35[SPEAKER_09]: Come on, it's easier than it looks.
- 31:37[SPEAKER_09]: Later.
- 31:38[SPEAKER_09]: Don't lose any.
- 31:39[SPEAKER_09]: I borrowed those balls from the pocket statement shed to be returned when we're done.
- 31:43[SPEAKER_09]: Magic isn't a matter of power, which is and spells that sort of thing.
- 31:48[SPEAKER_09]: It's the creation of a state of mind that becomes a state of being, so convincing, and then it's done right.
- 31:54[SPEAKER_09]: Vunders.
- 31:55[SPEAKER_09]: A game of let's pretend that the audience willingly
- 32:01[SPEAKER_03]: This is a waste of time.
- 32:03[SPEAKER_03]: It isn't working, Kurt.
- 32:05[SPEAKER_03]: I'm such a clots.
- 32:06[SPEAKER_03]: I'll never get it.
- 32:07[SPEAKER_09]: Stop thinking about it and trying so hard.
- 32:10[SPEAKER_09]: Simply do.
- 32:11[SPEAKER_03]: The sky's almost light.
- 32:13[SPEAKER_03]: Jesus, fuck it.
- 32:14[SPEAKER_03]: Christ, fuck it.
- 32:15[SPEAKER_03]: Sorry.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_03]: I'm being with you that long.
- 32:17[SPEAKER_03]: Holy shit.
- 32:18[SPEAKER_09]: Ah, this guy's almost like, I gotta go.
- 32:21[SPEAKER_09]: Ah, now who's the dunce?
- 32:23[SPEAKER_09]: I lost all track of time.
- 32:25[SPEAKER_09]: Despite his frustrations and failure, Daniel Vasin joined himself.
- 32:29[SPEAKER_09]: He's a saddest, having to stop as I.
- 32:31[SPEAKER_09]: Before we leave, what last hand?
- 32:33[SPEAKER_09]: I'll make it up!
- 32:34[SPEAKER_09]: Oh, you never know, you might surprise yourself.
- 32:38[SPEAKER_06]: And he does it.
- 32:39[SPEAKER_06]: Daniel smiles, and Nightcrawler finally walks him back home.
- 32:44[SPEAKER_09]: Nice green fella.
- 32:45[SPEAKER_09]: I've been fishing for that.
- 32:46[SPEAKER_09]: Hoping to hear Daniel laugh all evening.
- 32:49[SPEAKER_09]: You're grinning pretty good yourself.
- 32:51[SPEAKER_09]: Next lesson, batons.
- 32:53[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah sure, trust me, he'll be fun.
- 32:55[SPEAKER_09]: I'm glad I met you, Kurt.
- 32:56[SPEAKER_09]: Likewise.
- 32:57[SPEAKER_09]: See you later, maybe at the hospital?
- 33:00[SPEAKER_09]: I'll be there today anyway.
- 33:01[SPEAKER_09]: Then you'll wait.
- 33:02[SPEAKER_09]: This is true madness.
- 33:04[SPEAKER_09]: There's something about myself.
- 33:05[SPEAKER_09]: A secret I need to show you.
- 33:08[SPEAKER_09]: I don't really look like this.
- 33:10[SPEAKER_09]: That was an illusion.
- 33:12[SPEAKER_09]: This is reality.
- 33:13[SPEAKER_09]: I wanted you to know the truth.
- 33:15[SPEAKER_09]: Whatever the cost, because I consider you my friend.
- 33:18[SPEAKER_06]: With the push of a button,
- 33:23[SPEAKER_03]: Wow!
- 33:24[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, wow!
- 33:25[SPEAKER_03]: I thought there was something different about you Kurt, but I never imagined I never dreamed, fantastic!
- 33:31[SPEAKER_03]: Not afraid?
- 33:32[SPEAKER_03]: Of my pal?
- 33:33[SPEAKER_03]: No way!
- 33:33[SPEAKER_03]: And hey, Kurt, don't worry about your sick lady friend.
- 33:36[SPEAKER_03]: She'll be fine.
- 33:37[SPEAKER_03]: Trust me.
- 33:38[SPEAKER_06]: The two friends embrace, and then, later, still.
- 33:40[SPEAKER_06]: Met crawler whistles as he walks happier than he's felt since leaving the circus.
- 33:45[SPEAKER_06]: Back at the hospital, Kurt Wagner, the image-adduced inducer activated again, approaches a nurse.
- 33:50[SPEAKER_06]: Excuse me, nurse!
- 33:51[SPEAKER_09]: I'm looking for a friend, a lad about to fail, named Daniel Cameron.
- 33:56[SPEAKER_00]: I am afraid you're too late.
- 33:57[SPEAKER_09]: I beg your pardon.
- 33:58[SPEAKER_00]: This is Daniel.
- 33:59[SPEAKER_00]: He died last night, poor thing.
- 34:01[SPEAKER_00]: Cancer.
- 34:02[SPEAKER_09]: There must be some mistake.
- 34:03[SPEAKER_09]: Last night, I saw, I spoke, I touched a ghost.
- 34:07[SPEAKER_06]: My crawler goes back in his true form to look at the still standing Christmas tree.
- 34:13[SPEAKER_09]: Who are you waiting for, Daniel?
- 34:15[SPEAKER_09]: The Reaper, why did you show yourself to me?
- 34:17[SPEAKER_09]: Was that an accident?
- 34:19[SPEAKER_09]: Covincidence or perhaps the answer to a disparate prayer who was trying to comfort whom?
- 34:24[SPEAKER_09]: Whatever!
- 34:25[SPEAKER_09]: It ver, perhaps mine following this truly is the great secret, the world like a jugglers balls going round and round and the trick is to live the best you can file you can for that way There will always be lights shining bravely, joyously even in the deepest darkness And as he remembers his friend, that crawler juggles his balls, the end
- 34:53[SPEAKER_06]: This story is so sweet and so disturbing.
- 34:57[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, the world like the jugglers balls go around and round and the trick is to live the best you can while you can while Kevin is juggling literal balls badly Robin I need to hear your reaction to this story first.
- 35:13[SPEAKER_11]: My dad is 10 to 10 in the morning.
- 35:16[SPEAKER_11]: I woke up and I worked well.
- 35:17[SPEAKER_11]: This is a lot to deal with.
- 35:20[SPEAKER_11]: This story, I hate to say it, but if you give any right-wing American this story, they're going to be like, look, I told you, I was right all along.
- 35:30[SPEAKER_11]: This story is crazy.
- 35:31[SPEAKER_11]: It is in Satan 10 to 10.
- 35:34[SPEAKER_11]: My favorite thing are present months.
- 35:36[SPEAKER_06]: It's not illegal if the kid is dead.
- 35:39[SPEAKER_06]: Let me check it.
- 35:44[SPEAKER_04]: Not my follow.
- 35:45[SPEAKER_04]: It's not illegal if the kids dead.
- 35:47[SPEAKER_04]: Oh god.
- 35:48[SPEAKER_04]: What do you want me to say?
- 35:49[SPEAKER_08]: You say it's not illegal if the kids dead in the little kid voice.
- 35:56[SPEAKER_04]: It's not illegal if the kids dead.
- 35:58[SPEAKER_04]: Every single turn of this story.
- 36:00[SPEAKER_04]: Like the writers had to have known the innuendos that they that the reader would be aware of.
- 36:05[SPEAKER_04]: Like because every single turn he just had to show something to him.
- 36:13[SPEAKER_04]: By her balls so many times, fuzzy balls.
- 36:17[SPEAKER_06]: When I was typing the script for this, I was like, good.
- 36:20[SPEAKER_06]: God.
- 36:21[SPEAKER_06]: I don't think I'd ever read this story before.
- 36:22[SPEAKER_06]: And then he was a ghost at the end.
- 36:24[SPEAKER_06]: I'm like, what the?
- 36:27[SPEAKER_06]: And Emily, should I hear your thoughts on this story?
- 36:30[SPEAKER_13]: It was really, it was cute, but super uncomfortable.
- 36:34[SPEAKER_13]: Um, like, like, did he kill a little boy after their weird night together?
- 36:40[SPEAKER_13]: Uh, uh, is cute, but I'm comfortable.
- 36:44[SPEAKER_06]: Maybe this is how Jean survived.
- 36:46[SPEAKER_06]: She trained the life of the cancer kid in the next room.
- 36:49[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
- 36:50[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, I think cute but uncomfortable is like a really great way to answer that question.
- 36:57[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, like there were moments when you're just like, okay, the genuine like night crawler-ness of like wanting to just like make sure this kid is safe and happy.
- 37:05[SPEAKER_01]: But like exactly what Sean was saying, like you had to know what you were writing.
- 37:09[SPEAKER_01]: Like to be like, I talked to him.
- 37:11[SPEAKER_01]: I saw him.
- 37:12[SPEAKER_01]: I touched him.
- 37:13[SPEAKER_01]: Like that's going to be like night crawler's final thought about the moment.
- 37:16[SPEAKER_01]: I touched him.
- 37:17[SPEAKER_01]: You're just like,
- 37:18[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, why are you trying to make this cringy and weird?
- 37:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 37:22[SPEAKER_13]: Well, it's like it doesn't help health at night.
- 37:24[SPEAKER_13]: Collars draw because night caller is supposed to be quite young, right?
- 37:28[SPEAKER_13]: But he's drawn like a mid 30s prefer.
- 37:30[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, not good.
- 37:31[SPEAKER_06]: So yeah, they just juggled all night in central park until the sun came up.
- 37:36[SPEAKER_06]: It's fine.
- 37:37[SPEAKER_06]: I almost sort of like this morning.
- 37:38[SPEAKER_06]: It was like a dream night crawler had.
- 37:40[SPEAKER_06]: It's giving like Christmas vibes, right?
- 37:42[SPEAKER_06]: But like it's it's just it's really disturbing.
- 37:45[SPEAKER_13]: Kevin, what are you doing?
- 37:46[SPEAKER_13]: And like the pose though, the pose on the rock was also just like a little, it's like drawy like your French girls, a little bit, and it's just too, it's just too much.
- 37:56[SPEAKER_07]: You are all statue in the middle of Dublin.
- 37:58[SPEAKER_09]: All terrible people, you're all terrible, I won't have any of this.
- 38:02[SPEAKER_09]: How dare you sell you this story, it is beautiful and sweet, and you're all terrible people with terrible minds.
- 38:09[SPEAKER_01]: Did you think differently or most before this can be?
- 38:11[SPEAKER_09]: No, I didn't think that's true.
- 38:15[SPEAKER_04]: I would say it feels like very never-land ranch vibes with this story, and I say it like, and you know, because night crawler and Michael Jett, like they've, it's, you know, debate whatever you want, but it seems like they're both kids.
- 38:29[SPEAKER_04]: It's just weird when one of them is a much older adult kid.
- 38:33[SPEAKER_04]: And they're spending so much time together.
- 38:35[SPEAKER_04]: Hey, night crawler grew up in this circus.
- 38:38[SPEAKER_09]: What stage do you have to the circus days in the circus and also Central Park?
- 38:42[SPEAKER_06]: So, that's it.
- 38:42[SPEAKER_06]: Good like saying that to the kid.
- 38:45[SPEAKER_06]: I'm the one that added the word exposed when that crawler revealed his true form That's a handbook joke.
- 38:51[SPEAKER_06]: I've shared this on the show before, but whenever we were typing in the handbooks about a story where there was a big Rhythmia reveal We had to like we weren't allowed to use the phrase like and then apocalypse revealed himself because it always sounds like they're just showing their pain
- 39:04[SPEAKER_06]: That's like a running DAG whatever the villain reveal comes.
- 39:07[SPEAKER_05]: You can never use the nose, but that doesn't explain why he had tennis balls in his pocket going to visit the Christmas tree.
- 39:15[SPEAKER_05]: Because explain it was excellent point.
- 39:18[SPEAKER_13]: It doesn't have one.
- 39:19[SPEAKER_13]: It's a candy and that level back to you.
- 39:22[SPEAKER_06]: You always have at least one tennis ball with you for all reasons.
- 39:25[SPEAKER_06]: You don't need to carry candy when there's a place sell in pie and ice cream at 1 a.m. Just across.
- 39:33[SPEAKER_06]: I've got a really grown up.
- 39:34[SPEAKER_05]: You've gone on New Yorkers.
- 39:35[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
- 39:36[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, yeah.
- 39:37[SPEAKER_05]: Maybe.
- 39:39[SPEAKER_06]: Robin put in the group chat during our message.
- 39:42[SPEAKER_06]: We met during the read.
- 39:43[SPEAKER_06]: Everyone.
- 39:44[SPEAKER_06]: Robin typed.
- 39:44[SPEAKER_06]: Kurt may only have three fingers, but according to this panel, he has ten balls.
- 39:48[SPEAKER_06]: And that was something.
- 39:50[SPEAKER_06]: only Alicia carries balls around with her at all times.
- 39:53[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just saying I have some balls right now.
- 39:55[SPEAKER_05]: Thanks for exposing your balls to me.
- 39:57[SPEAKER_06]: You're well known.
- 39:58[SPEAKER_05]: You're well known.
- 40:01[SPEAKER_06]: And then next time the baton right Sean and Kevin just such talented actors a Sean the fact that you did Wolverine and Daniel in the same episode with such a wildly different voices Sean is a professional voice actor every one of you are unaware of brilliant things.
- 40:22[SPEAKER_06]: You want to talk about your journey as Wolverine in this episode as well.
- 40:26[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, um, is it not much to say, it's it's not often I see Wolverine just get smacked like a pancake right after, you know, acting tough.
- 40:35[SPEAKER_04]: So, uh, usually he makes it out somehow, but, um, yeah, it was a, you know, it was not his brightest moment.
- 40:42[SPEAKER_06]: Uh, okay.
- 40:43[SPEAKER_06]: The most impactful thing from this two partner is the big reveal of the origin of a rural Monroe.
- 40:50[SPEAKER_06]: Now, again, it's embellished on a little bit.
- 40:52[SPEAKER_06]: We have sliding time scale and all of that, but it is based in a real world conflict.
- 40:56[SPEAKER_06]: You could look up the real world events that I referenced here.
- 40:59[SPEAKER_06]: And if we did assume that Aurora was in her mid 20s in the 1970s, that would set this up in real time, of course.
- 41:07[SPEAKER_06]: But the way to make the character who's so extremely powerful have a vulnerability, which is the claustrophobia which lasts for this character for the next, you know, 30 years or so, and such deep emotion on her face.
- 41:19[SPEAKER_06]: A harem scam, what was it like for you to play a rural here?
- 41:23[SPEAKER_06]: And what are your thoughts on her kind of complex origins?
- 41:26[SPEAKER_12]: Honestly, it's, what's the worry that I'm looking for?
- 41:29[SPEAKER_12]: And what does it's rare to get to see her vulnerabilities like this?
- 41:32[SPEAKER_12]: Because we have seen her vulnerabilities in a lot of different stories in different ways.
- 41:36[SPEAKER_12]: Though it's more rare now, in my opinion, that we get to see more for childhood trauma.
- 41:41[SPEAKER_12]: So it was nice to get to delve into that story a little bit from back in the day.
- 41:47[SPEAKER_12]: Honestly,
- 41:50[SPEAKER_12]: reading her origins, because I think the first time I got to read Storm's Origin, my dad got me the Storm Solo series from what the early 2000s, where they finally read content to being that her and Black Panther actually did cross paths in their childhood, and that's where it started their relationship.
- 42:07[SPEAKER_12]: So this is like that was my first ever exposure to more of what she was
- 42:18[SPEAKER_06]: There's a lot of stories set in the retcon.
- 42:20[SPEAKER_06]: The story where she's almost sexually assaulted and has to kill a man is where she meets Black Panther and kind of faces for kind of godly heritage.
- 42:27[SPEAKER_06]: And then we have like the hidden years stuff where she teams up with the original team to fight deluge, which we have covered on the show before.
- 42:34[SPEAKER_06]: So there's some interesting things in the retcon of all of that.
- 42:37[SPEAKER_06]: But a beautiful origin story, and it layers a lot very quickly.
- 42:40[SPEAKER_06]: We have the fact that her mother is an African princess.
- 42:43[SPEAKER_06]: Her father is a New York, New York photo journalist.
- 42:46[SPEAKER_06]: And this being said in the 1950s, evokes a particular kind of flavor.
- 42:50[SPEAKER_06]: A lot of modern writers are going to pick up on this story.
- 42:52[SPEAKER_06]: There's one particular story where Andare is sharing with David.
- 42:56[SPEAKER_06]: And I have an episode out on the Monroe family from a long time ago, if anyone wants to go back and hear more thoughts on her parents specifically.
- 43:03[SPEAKER_06]: But there's a story written by a black writer many years later where Andari is like, there's racism here and I know there's bad shit back home.
- 43:10[SPEAKER_06]: I don't have to look out for the racism like I can just know what to expect here.
- 43:14[SPEAKER_06]: Nothing is predictable.
- 43:15[SPEAKER_06]: I don't feel safe anywhere.
- 43:16[SPEAKER_06]: Let's get the fuck out of here.
- 43:17[SPEAKER_06]: And it's like a really poignant journey for the two of them.
- 43:23[SPEAKER_05]: Here's my problem with Chris Clearing.
- 43:25[SPEAKER_05]: Just I have a problem.
- 43:26[SPEAKER_05]: It's always an act to cry about him.
- 43:28[SPEAKER_05]: I love his characterization, but I think that he often had an issue with describing black people.
- 43:35[SPEAKER_05]: And so, reading this, when he's describing people in Harlem as black civilians, absolutely.
- 43:41[SPEAKER_05]: But so, I think once you get past those facts,
- 43:45[SPEAKER_06]: I think that was my word choice when I'm typing what I see in the script because I wanted I use that word choice specifically because I wanted people to understand that we were in a certain section of New York City.
- 43:57[SPEAKER_05]: Sure, sure.
- 43:58[SPEAKER_05]: Again, and to say it's a one more time that doesn't excuse how he used the word Negro.
- 44:03[SPEAKER_05]: When this forever.
- 44:04[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, and a different point.
- 44:06[SPEAKER_05]: So like it, it's still stands, but again, once you get over.
- 44:09[SPEAKER_05]: of those particular nuances in those particular ways of him writing.
- 44:12[SPEAKER_05]: I think that he had a wonderful way of explaining who David was very simply and very plainly and then how he is so much a dotting father and he understands a row of the understands and are he understands this place.
- 44:25[SPEAKER_05]: So I think revisiting that was really fun.
- 44:27[SPEAKER_05]: any thoughts on storms origins.
- 44:29[SPEAKER_05]: I love storm.
- 44:30[SPEAKER_05]: No, because no, because again, I remember I was on the other read when we, you know, before the storm before you know, we saw her doing the pick pocket back story.
- 44:43[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, before the start, I was like, you know, we always are finding things about our life that are always interesting, but I think she is one of those characters, much like Wolverine, you can literally almost find a spot in time and just go after him, sure, you'll find some type of adventure and some type of like fun thing that's going on with her, so like I enjoy all of it.
- 45:12[SPEAKER_05]: up.
- 45:14[SPEAKER_06]: It's never too late.
- 45:18[SPEAKER_06]: The most brutal image in this entire section is juggernaut holding storm by the hair in the air.
- 45:25[SPEAKER_06]: It's so uncomfortable.
- 45:26[SPEAKER_06]: Go look at the image.
- 45:27[SPEAKER_06]: It's really jarring.
- 45:28[SPEAKER_06]: Welcome back Kenny Christ as the the really powerful juggernaut.
- 45:32[SPEAKER_06]: He's Hurland.
- 45:33[SPEAKER_06]: He's Hurland lightning bolts at people.
- 45:35[SPEAKER_06]: He's smashing walls down.
- 45:37[SPEAKER_06]: What are
- 45:40[SPEAKER_13]: Um, he is so obsessed with his like tweaky little brother.
- 45:45[SPEAKER_13]: I, uh, and you know it's because his, like with the, the telephathy, he, like Carl's nose a secret.
- 45:53[SPEAKER_13]: No one else can know his secret beat up everybody, so like no one ever finds out.
- 45:58[SPEAKER_13]: And then he decides to like run around with like payoffs, dandy, black palm is just like the
- 46:10[SPEAKER_13]: He's so dumb.
- 46:13[SPEAKER_13]: He's so big and dumb and I have such a sauce pot for this big, hard dummy.
- 46:19[SPEAKER_06]: And welcome back to Robin Moughed as Black Tom.
- 46:22[SPEAKER_06]: Let me hear your thoughts on his arc here.
- 46:25[SPEAKER_06]: And then his connection to both Banshee and Juggernaut, very different relationships this episode for him.
- 46:30[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, I think at this juncture, based on what we've seen so far, he's kind of just the mysterious aggressive dangerous blows who's just showed up to be a bad tank.
- 46:42[SPEAKER_11]: He is the sort of homosexual that if you meet him at the club, you run the other direction because he will cause problems in your life.
- 46:50[SPEAKER_11]: He is a disaster hurricane of homosexuality.
- 46:54[SPEAKER_11]: For reference, I love these gays and I refuse to stop being friends with them, but you should not listen to my bad-life choices.
- 47:03[SPEAKER_06]: Tom is obsessed with showing he is Banshee's better.
- 47:07[SPEAKER_06]: And we get this kind of illusion that Banshee or Sean sent him to prison years ago.
- 47:10[SPEAKER_06]: Of course, we're going to learn it's much more complicated when we add Teresa into the mix.
- 47:14[SPEAKER_06]: But stay tuned for the trial of like Tom at the end of the month.
- 47:16[SPEAKER_06]: Did you have thoughts on their connections?
- 47:18[SPEAKER_06]: And then I'd love to hear from Sean on the same topic.
- 47:20[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, I think it is really interesting because one thing I recall from sort of previous script reads is Ben, she is always kind of hinty to have a lot of this backstory and it is really good that we start to see this bill out.
- 47:33[SPEAKER_11]: I think that the aggressive homosexuality of Black Tom, which I just think you cannot ignore in this is very interesting because if you contextualize this as 1970s Ireland.
- 47:44[SPEAKER_11]: Black Thomas such a sort of his black sheep of the family, he's the sort of person, everyone in the family would sort of this own.
- 47:51[SPEAKER_11]: He'd be that weird cousin that we don't really acknowledge or talk about.
- 47:55[SPEAKER_11]: And I think it's really interesting for Cara to really come to show up in contrast to someone named Angie who is just such a epitome of typical Irish masculinity.
- 48:05[SPEAKER_11]: I think Black Tom is fascinating, and I also love that he is clearly overcompensating by having a big massive shilly league because his wood is bigger and thicker than fan cheese.
- 48:16[SPEAKER_11]: It's all projection, and I love it.
- 48:17[SPEAKER_06]: He goes all wood in the future.
- 48:20[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, and next time, Necron will teach him how to handle that baton.
- 48:25[SPEAKER_06]: a baton is it lately?
- 48:27[SPEAKER_06]: Yes, for sure.
- 48:29[SPEAKER_06]: Sean, what are your thoughts on the connections between these two?
- 48:31[SPEAKER_06]: The immunity to each other's powers is always an interesting thing.
- 48:34[SPEAKER_06]: It's like cyclops and havoc too.
- 48:36[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, and it's always funny when they do that, that little cork there that, like you said, havoc and in cyclops, they can't damage each other.
- 48:43[SPEAKER_07]: So it's like, hey, what if I just punched you?
- 48:45[SPEAKER_07]: Like an actual brother would do, you know?
- 48:48[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, he's like wh-whappin' him in the face with his stick and like kicking him in the gut, yeah.
- 48:54[SPEAKER_07]: Just stick his feet and his gut, live over.
- 48:56[SPEAKER_07]: It's fantastic.
- 48:56[SPEAKER_07]: But echoing Robin's sentiments about how Black Thomas, like the Black sheep of the family, type of thing, and Sean is always this haragon of-
- 49:05[SPEAKER_07]: not so much toxic masculinity, but true Irish masculinity in the whole like he's also got this long list of law enforcement jobs he's had not only with Interpol, but also as a New York police detective I believe, just it's really weird to see that dichotomy established so clearly, so quickly, because I mean, this is Tom has appeared in what 14 panels at this point now, by the end of this issue,
- 49:33[SPEAKER_06]: Okay, y'all, in preparation for writing the trial of Black Tom, I went back and watched Chris Claremont used movie references for some of his early scripts like many did.
- 49:44[SPEAKER_06]: There's an old film made by Disney in 1959 called Darby O'Gill and the Little People.
- 49:50[SPEAKER_06]: Have any of you here seen this film before?
- 49:52[SPEAKER_06]: Classic old Disney.
- 49:54[SPEAKER_06]: God damn, as an adult, was it obnoxious?
- 49:57[SPEAKER_06]: The leprechaun
- 49:59[SPEAKER_06]: hours.
- 50:00[SPEAKER_06]: But I really truly think his portrayal of of a band she is based off of like the leading man in this show where his portrayal of Black Tom is like the Black Rose, the guy that's like trying to steal the girl.
- 50:14[SPEAKER_06]: But the whole movie is about like the the the Darby of Gill, who's like an older man who catches a lap recon and gets some wishes and it's it's a lot of places with size a lot.
- 50:23[SPEAKER_06]: Alicia Wilder could have played a leprechaun in this film and I would have loved it even more, but the choice to use the leprechauns in this story is to this day Maybe the weirdest swing and X-Men comic has ever taken and that's a big thing.
- 50:37[SPEAKER_06]: Oh, welcome to Alicia talk talk to us about here lucky charms
- 50:41[SPEAKER_01]: I can't have them, they're my lucky charms.
- 50:44[SPEAKER_01]: No, the reason I had to go that route is because for some reason every time I really try to do an Irish accent, it turns into a British accent and I was like, okay, I can't be doing that today.
- 50:54[SPEAKER_01]: And also just the like random nature of the moment of them in this is just like, they just appear for a second to like cuddle a body away and then they disappear.
- 51:04[SPEAKER_01]: And so it's like very,
- 51:06[SPEAKER_01]: outlandish and itself.
- 51:07[SPEAKER_01]: So like why not be quirky with the vocal choice as well.
- 51:12[SPEAKER_06]: Is it the is it the self park leprechaun?
- 51:14[SPEAKER_06]: It's always just like, like, to tie to hate or hurt, there's always that the Simpsons.
- 51:18[SPEAKER_06]: There's a South Park leprechaun.
- 51:20[SPEAKER_06]: It's the Simpsons one.
- 51:21[SPEAKER_06]: It's the Simpsons.
- 51:21[SPEAKER_06]: The Simpsons has that leprechaun.
- 51:23[SPEAKER_06]: There's no torture.
- 51:24[SPEAKER_06]: It's hard to figure to figure the Simpsons.
- 51:26[SPEAKER_07]: The crossover is Simpsons and ridiculous Irishness.
- 51:28[SPEAKER_07]: That's me.
- 51:51[SPEAKER_06]: typical Colossus.
- 51:53[SPEAKER_06]: That's what he do.
- 51:54[SPEAKER_06]: I love his connection with both storm and Wolverine as kind of the extra brother character to them both.
- 52:00[SPEAKER_06]: That makes me happy and those are early in development.
- 52:02[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, no, he's just getting in a big brother mode protecting his friends, sticking up for them, picking fights with Wolverine and getting thrown into a wall.
- 52:08[SPEAKER_05]: That's all he did this issue.
- 52:10[SPEAKER_05]: That's the best part.
- 52:11[SPEAKER_06]: Meanwhile, back in New York, Jean Grey is casually wondering to her roommate, like, did you ever bring yourself back to life as an image of a wall burns behind her?
- 52:19[SPEAKER_06]: It's fine.
- 52:20[SPEAKER_06]: Everything's fine.
- 52:21[SPEAKER_06]: Let me hear from Jean.
- 52:24[SPEAKER_06]: Hi, pathetic police on Jean's journey.
- 52:26[SPEAKER_01]: I just think this.
- 52:26[SPEAKER_01]: This moment for Jeanne is just so interesting because it's like she's in this very like I'm just in this bubble now I'm living in in in the hospital and I'm kind of like reconnecting to myself and like you know whatever version of herself she is in this moment but like to have her be so like Charles is
- 52:44[SPEAKER_01]: Xavier would never be so, so crazy and rude like that to then be like, let me just calmly drop this bomb on you, Misty.
- 52:52[SPEAKER_01]: It's just so wild journey.
- 52:53[SPEAKER_01]: It's like three lines that are a complete roller coaster.
- 52:56[SPEAKER_01]: She's having a lot of feelings, I think.
- 52:58[SPEAKER_01]: And also just like searching for validation in any way she can find it because she was just shunned by Charles.
- 53:04[SPEAKER_06]: Now, I want to redo this Cyclops Xavier scene out in the hallway, except add like RuPaul slaps to it.
- 53:11[SPEAKER_06]: Like, they're just like hitting each other across the face the whole time.
- 53:15[SPEAKER_06]: Let me hear from Seth and then Justin on this interchange, holy shit.
- 53:20[SPEAKER_15]: I have really said that the whole audience has been deprived of actually seeing Justin's acting while he was speaking.
- 53:26[SPEAKER_15]: It was phenomenal.
- 53:28[SPEAKER_04]: I'd say if you're like just real quick, yeah, I love how I'm not used to Professor X going, you know, immediately to SAS on the first line, you know, like usually practices some more patients, but the first sign of like cyclops saying, you know, anything contradictory or other than a total affirmative.
- 53:48[SPEAKER_04]: just throws his hands up.
- 53:50[SPEAKER_17]: It was a it was a steady build from the just brisk greeting of Miss United.
- 53:55[SPEAKER_17]: Yeah, that's nice.
- 53:56[SPEAKER_17]: Scott anyway about the corridor like he just had nothing to do with this room full of people.
- 54:02[SPEAKER_17]: I think it was really intense to get a feeling for
- 54:07[SPEAKER_17]: How he feels about the X men as almost like his personal like you do what I tell you to do what do you mean you're not going to do this.
- 54:15[SPEAKER_17]: What do you mean I made you who you are you owe this to like there was so much Negative gravitas or in that relationship exchange that I just I went into it because I had to.
- 54:28[SPEAKER_06]: In 2024, as the guy who literally pitched the Charles Xavier Origin X-Men book to Marvel comics, it got rejected, I have a lot of thoughts on this guy's origins.
- 54:37[SPEAKER_06]: There's a lot of complexity to him that I think is really, really fascinating.
- 54:41[SPEAKER_06]: But if we look at his journey just very quickly, if we go back to the 1960s Xavier, he's overpowered.
- 54:47[SPEAKER_06]: The writers always have to write him out.
- 54:49[SPEAKER_06]: There was the series where he let the X-Men believe he was dead, but it was the changeling
- 54:57[SPEAKER_06]: Now he's assembled the new team.
- 54:59[SPEAKER_06]: He started having these weird visions of LaLandra.
- 55:02[SPEAKER_06]: So it's another thing from Alien Space.
- 55:04[SPEAKER_06]: You have a princess on the run.
- 55:05[SPEAKER_06]: We don't really know why they're psychically connected.
- 55:08[SPEAKER_06]: That's not really ever explained in the comics.
- 55:11[SPEAKER_06]: But LaLandra is the princess on the run because the Emperor decant of the Shiar is trying to get the M-Cron crystal, which is like a little ball that will let you change all of reality.
- 55:20[SPEAKER_06]: We'll get there in a future story.
- 55:22[SPEAKER_06]: DeKent has sent his agent Eric the redder to stop any intervention from Xavier in helping LaLandra.
- 55:28[SPEAKER_06]: So if you recall, a few issues ago, Xavier tried to take some time off from the X-Men and did up getting kidnapped by sentinals when he was on the boat with Peter Corbot got slapped back down to earth where Jean almost died.
- 55:41[SPEAKER_06]: And now he's still going through these migraines.
- 55:43[SPEAKER_06]: So I mean, we want to have a little sympathy for him here, but yeah, he's such an asshole, he's such an asshole.
- 55:47[SPEAKER_17]: And I understand that that is all weighing on him and he's not talking to anybody about it because he never does.
- 55:53[SPEAKER_17]: It's just rattling around in his brain and cracking at the seams.
- 55:57[SPEAKER_17]: But he is snapping left and right and really exposing how he feels about these people.
- 56:02[SPEAKER_17]: It's just coming out raw.
- 56:03[SPEAKER_06]: But to kind of we recall, uh, took havoc and Polaris.
- 56:07[SPEAKER_06]: He's the one that has paid Juggernaut and Black Tom to try to do this awful thing.
- 56:12[SPEAKER_06]: And we're going to learn in a couple of issues that he's also reverited baby Magneto back to.
- 56:16[SPEAKER_06]: So the last character we have to explore quickly is Moira and McTaggart, who has some really delicious moments with Xavier in this, Robin, do you want to talk about Moira's journey?
- 56:27[SPEAKER_06]: Your Moira voice is one of my favorite things with the whole planet.
- 56:30[SPEAKER_11]: Honestly, like,
- 56:31[SPEAKER_11]: The having the mentality of House of X in mind, like House of X pairs of 10, thinking of it's that Moira while doing these stories is really interesting, because for example, what do you mean?
- 56:43[SPEAKER_11]: She showed up and is just like, well, maybe he's losing his mind or maybe he's interfacing with another consciousness.
- 56:50[SPEAKER_11]: You're tossing a boy around.
- 56:52[SPEAKER_11]: How do you possibly know that in 1970?
- 56:55[SPEAKER_11]: The only way it makes sense is if this is like her 10th Lauren.
- 56:59[SPEAKER_11]: So I think it's really fascinating because there are so many aspects of just the first Clairemonce obsession with making like what could just be bit part roles for Wimpen really amazingly intelligent characters with Moira in particular.
- 57:13[SPEAKER_11]: It does need that little bit of iconic to actually make sense and I think the
- 57:18[SPEAKER_06]: It's fine.
- 57:19[SPEAKER_06]: She left me your island and the care of Jamie Maddrox.
- 57:21[SPEAKER_06]: We'll get there.
- 57:22[SPEAKER_06]: And within the year or so, we're going to get to the trial of my or make tiger.
- 57:26[SPEAKER_06]: And I know that's a highly anticipated what will definitely.
- 57:28[SPEAKER_13]: It's kind of funny like the most gruesome sort of panel is like jagger not holding storm by your hair just like what do I do it this.
- 57:39[SPEAKER_12]: like, you know, I think that's the one panel of the thing holding her up by her hair after she said, you really think my hair is fake.
- 57:48[SPEAKER_12]: All right.
- 57:48[SPEAKER_12]: That's it, buddy.
- 57:50[SPEAKER_07]: Early on on the fight, I love the part where Wolverine throws Colossus doing a reverse fastball special.
- 57:55[SPEAKER_07]: Good.
- 57:56[SPEAKER_07]: Was one thing.
- 57:57[SPEAKER_06]: It's a special fastball.
- 57:58[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
- 57:59[SPEAKER_07]: And then there was the the cultural reference of referring to the neckruller's spock ears.
- 58:04[SPEAKER_07]: It's like a heavy.
- 58:05[SPEAKER_07]: Have they talked about surgery?
- 58:07[SPEAKER_06]: All of the name calling in this was really fun with the exception of the word chubby, which I really hate anytime it's used as an insult, but yeah, mostly really fun.
- 58:18[SPEAKER_13]: Especially, especially, I get someone who is literally just a solid slab of muscles.
- 58:25[SPEAKER_06]: This was a special one for many reasons.
- 58:27[SPEAKER_06]: There's a lot of firsts.
- 58:28[SPEAKER_06]: It's Juggernaut and Black Tom.
- 58:30[SPEAKER_06]: It's Storms Origins, but somehow that story from Classic X men between Kevin and Sean is going to be at me smile for like the next four days.
- 58:38[SPEAKER_06]: That was so cute in the weirdest after school special kind of way.
- 58:42[SPEAKER_06]: This is the kind of thing that I would have watched if it wasn't after school special.
- 58:46[SPEAKER_06]: I'd like the age of eight and thought it was really sweet, but then I
- 58:54[SPEAKER_06]: I think that's it.
- 58:57[SPEAKER_06]: But that interchange was adorable.
- 58:59[SPEAKER_06]: I love all of you.
- 59:00[SPEAKER_06]: Thank you for bringing me such huge smiles this evening.
- 59:03[SPEAKER_09]: I'm Kevin Canary and as always, it's a pleasure to do these because everybody here is so much fun.
- 59:08[SPEAKER_09]: I'm blowing up my social media.
- 59:11[SPEAKER_09]: So I have nowhere to direct anybody to.
- 59:13[SPEAKER_09]: So hopefully you see me at a convention or in person sometime soon.
- 59:16[SPEAKER_09]: And that's probably everything.
- 59:18[SPEAKER_09]: Oh, you know what we need to pitch is gay Mormon dad.
- 59:21[SPEAKER_09]: That's what we should be.
- 59:23[SPEAKER_06]: I'll do that in my outro, but by the time you're going to do that, many of you will have your copies.
- 59:29[SPEAKER_06]: Kenny.
- 59:29[SPEAKER_13]: So you can find me on Instagram at Pinterest.
- 59:32[SPEAKER_13]: I have links to various other spicier content in my little
- 59:40[SPEAKER_13]: by a link thing.
- 59:42[SPEAKER_13]: If you are in northern Ontario, the first week in June, and this is out come to Sudbury and watch a bodybuilding show.
- 59:52[SPEAKER_13]: It's going to be really fun for me.
- 59:54[SPEAKER_13]: Probably not for anyone watching.
- 59:55[SPEAKER_13]: And then I guess I'll see you guys for the trial of Black Tom Cassidy.
- 1:00:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yay!
- 1:00:03[SPEAKER_01]: Ah, I'm least wilder.
- 1:00:05[SPEAKER_01]: It's always a pleasure.
- 1:00:05[SPEAKER_01]: This brings me so much joy.
- 1:00:07[SPEAKER_01]: You all are so talented and so fun, and thanks for having me again, Chad.
- 1:00:11[SPEAKER_01]: I'm one half of the X-Wife podcast, so if you want to follow that journey, you can find us on Instagram or wherever you get your podcasts.

- 1:00:30[SPEAKER_12]: I am here in Scaram cosplay.

- 1:00:33[SPEAKER_12]: I always get a good laugh out of it.
- 1:00:35[SPEAKER_12]: Some guys always juggling someone's balls.
- 1:00:36[SPEAKER_12]: Like something always happens whenever we come on here.
- 1:00:39[SPEAKER_12]: You can find me a hair in Scaram cosplay.
- 1:00:43[SPEAKER_12]: It's grim.
- 1:00:44[SPEAKER_12]: I can definitely find you over on TikTok under that handle as well.
- 1:00:49[SPEAKER_12]: And I guess beyond the lookout for me and my friend Legend of Anakin to release our podcast once more of all their valks.
- 1:00:56[SPEAKER_12]: It's basically us talking about why we like to engage in stories especially as black and queer fans.
- 1:01:02[SPEAKER_12]: And we're first episode, I think we're going to be talking about the crossover of Superman and Spider-Man, which when my friends got me a very special edition of for my three things.
- 1:01:12[SPEAKER_12]: I'm like really active, you don't still geek about it.
- 1:01:15[SPEAKER_12]: And I can't
- 1:01:18[SPEAKER_13]: Yeah, happy birthday.
- 1:01:19[SPEAKER_12]: Thank you all.
- 1:01:20[SPEAKER_12]: I can't wait for Marvel to release their section of it, because this was DC writers.
- 1:01:24[SPEAKER_12]: And this is the most respect that I've seen Spiderman get in a long fucking time.
- 1:01:28[SPEAKER_12]: Good to be honest.
- 1:01:29[SPEAKER_06]: Herum, this is, uh, this is high standards, because I love all of you.
- 1:01:33[SPEAKER_06]: And you are all delightful to hang out with, but you're my favorite person to get the giddles with on-grain mocking me, this is so fun.
- 1:01:40[SPEAKER_06]: So I was so glad you were here today.
- 1:01:41[SPEAKER_12]: I don't know if you saw, but I was like dying in the bathroom.
- 1:01:45[SPEAKER_12]: Oh, I saw what time.
- 1:01:48[SPEAKER_05]: do that.
- 1:01:49[SPEAKER_05]: Hi, I'm Mike Deuben.
- 1:01:50[SPEAKER_05]: You can catch me reading my copy of Gameworm and Dad.
- 1:01:53[SPEAKER_05]: Well, I'm waxing buck holes that God shared the clean in Salt Lake City, Utah.
- 1:01:57[SPEAKER_05]: You want me to follow that?
- 1:01:59[SPEAKER_05]: To give my name is Andre Mason, and I am actually a great mouthkin irregular, so I have fun doing these script reads, and all these trial doing really funny voices is best I can.
- 1:02:09[SPEAKER_05]: I have nothing to draw
- 1:02:11[SPEAKER_05]: ever, but you can catch me at different conventions all over the place.
- 1:02:15[SPEAKER_05]: And you can find your line at talk nerdies to me.
- 1:02:18[SPEAKER_17]: And I'm Justin, at least you said all the stuff, I'm the other half of the XWF podcast.
- 1:02:22[SPEAKER_17]: And I got nothing else to tell you except the level of your people and all the silly things we do together.
- 1:02:27[SPEAKER_11]: Hi, I'm Robin Mauffer and if you want to check me out anywhere, you can check me out on Bluskai, red-breasted Robin with a Y.

- 1:02:46[SPEAKER_11]: Haven't seen that.
- 1:02:46[SPEAKER_11]: It's fun.
- 1:02:47[SPEAKER_06]: You're great.
- 1:02:48[SPEAKER_06]: Hey, Seth, have you ever been on the corner of 112 street in Amsterdam?
- 1:02:51[SPEAKER_06]: I'm just checking.
- 1:02:52[SPEAKER_06]: That's the neighborhood where Endari and David live.
- 1:02:55[SPEAKER_06]: But there's references to the corner of 112 street in Amsterdam.
- 1:02:58[SPEAKER_06]: I don't know.
- 1:03:01[SPEAKER_06]: Okay, what's there?
- 1:03:01[SPEAKER_06]: They were burned.
- 1:03:02[SPEAKER_06]: They better exactly like you.
- 1:03:05[SPEAKER_06]: Oh, yeah.
- 1:03:05[SPEAKER_06]: That's a bird squawk.
- 1:03:09[SPEAKER_15]: Seth Martell again as cyclops.
- 1:03:12[SPEAKER_15]: And for the first number, I just wanted to call out Rouhani had no idea that voice could ever come out of you.
- 1:03:19[SPEAKER_15]: That was very impressive.
- 1:03:21[SPEAKER_15]: And you kept it up.
- 1:03:22[SPEAKER_15]: And I don't know how your vocal cords will survive to the next day.
- 1:03:24[SPEAKER_15]: But it was amazing.
- 1:03:26[SPEAKER_15]: And good job, my friend.
- 1:03:27[SPEAKER_15]: I really enjoyed it.
- 1:03:28[SPEAKER_15]: you can follow me at SC Martell on Instagram.
- 1:03:33[SPEAKER_15]: If you like art, X-Men art, or just silly drawings of any sort, um, and that's about it.
- 1:03:39[SPEAKER_15]: It was very fun tonight, everyone.
- 1:03:40[SPEAKER_15]: Thank you.
- 1:03:40[SPEAKER_18]: And now over to Sean Rohani.
- 1:03:42[SPEAKER_16]: Yes.
- 1:03:46[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, there's an episode of Wolverine as a kid.
- 1:03:48[SPEAKER_04]: I wonder what that sounds like.
- 1:03:51[SPEAKER_04]: Probably the exact same.
- 1:03:52[SPEAKER_04]: You know, I know you point out that I'm the voice actor.
- 1:03:55[SPEAKER_04]: I appreciate all the kind words, but honestly, I feel like there's I'm really impressed by by all the people you put together.
- 1:04:02[SPEAKER_04]: It really comes to life and it's such such fun playing in the sandbox with all you guys.
- 1:04:07[SPEAKER_04]: My, I mean, I'm just Sean Rohani on Instagram and, you know, that's pretty much the main one, but probably some other ones.
- 1:04:15[SPEAKER_04]: I got to do a few fun things on the Hoppers Pixar movie, which was a lot of fun and the Mario sequel, which is cool, and it's just in Mario, you guys, that's amazing, very, very long.
- 1:04:30[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, that's pretty awesome.
- 1:04:31[SPEAKER_04]: Well, I hope you guys enjoyed.
- 1:04:33[SPEAKER_04]: Um, if anyone's a fan of the boys, uh, the series finale, um, just began, uh, do you still sing airing?
- 1:04:41[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.
- 1:04:42[SPEAKER_04]: Um, but on Amazon Prime, and I got to do some little things sprinkled throughout that also.
- 1:04:47[SPEAKER_04]: So, um, that was a lot of fun.
- 1:04:49[SPEAKER_04]: And, uh, yeah, that's it.
- 1:04:50[SPEAKER_04]: It's a blast playing with you guys.
- 1:04:52[SPEAKER_04]: Thanks, Sean.
- 1:04:53[SPEAKER_05]: Juggling with you guys.
- 1:04:59[SPEAKER_05]: We've already crossed so many lines tonight.
- 1:05:03[SPEAKER_07]: I am a Sean Beverage.
- 1:05:05[SPEAKER_07]: I was your Banshee this evening.
- 1:05:06[SPEAKER_07]: Is it evening?
- 1:05:07[SPEAKER_07]: I don't know what time is.
- 1:05:09[SPEAKER_07]: You could find me on Instagram at Cool Beverage, C-O-O-L-B-E-V-E-R-I-D-G-E.
- 1:05:16[SPEAKER_07]: It's my actual last name.
- 1:05:18[SPEAKER_07]: Apart from that, I mean, check out Game Mormon Dad, look into the uncanny experience because I'm going to be involved in that and some form along with a lot of other people here.
- 1:05:31[SPEAKER_06]: Actually, I am Chad Anderson, uh, you can find me, most easily a Grimmelcom underscore lane on Instagram.
- 1:05:37[SPEAKER_06]: Although I have formed an account for Game Armageddon now.
- 1:05:39[SPEAKER_06]: So back in 2017, everybody, I wrote a memoir about my life.
- 1:05:42[SPEAKER_06]: I was sad for a long time and then I came out and it's a whole journey because there's lots of crazy things and I have a big crazy family.
- 1:05:48[SPEAKER_06]: a couple years ago, I adapted this into a graphic memoir, The Incredible Remy Burke has brought up to life.
- 1:05:53[SPEAKER_06]: I was really proud of the script.
- 1:05:55[SPEAKER_06]: I've been really proud of the collaboration, but reading the final product in my hands has been amazing.
- 1:05:59[SPEAKER_06]: The reviews are starting to come in.
- 1:06:00[SPEAKER_06]: It's excellent.
- 1:06:01[SPEAKER_06]: I'm so very, very pleased.
- 1:06:02[SPEAKER_06]: And I can't wait for all of you to read it.
- 1:06:04[SPEAKER_06]: And like I said, I shipped many of the people in this room a copy just a few days ago.
- 1:06:08[SPEAKER_06]: So please enjoy it's being released in May.
- 1:06:10[SPEAKER_06]: And it's Pride Month.
- 1:06:11[SPEAKER_06]: So go read a story about a complicated world and one guy trying to learn how to love himself.
- 1:06:16[SPEAKER_06]: It's really beautiful.
- 1:06:18[SPEAKER_06]: Um, the show, it remains just a true joy in my life.
- 1:06:21[SPEAKER_06]: I'm going to be at T.K.
- 1:06:23[SPEAKER_06]: and at the A.L.A.
- 1:06:25[SPEAKER_06]: conference in Chicago, watch for me at the uncanny experience in Flamcon a little bit later this year if you would like to see me in person.
- 1:06:32[SPEAKER_06]: And my last piece of advice before we wrap up, if you see a strange child sitting in New York city by themselves at night, offered to get them to the local police station, do not go spend an evening with them and then reveal yourself to them at the doorstep after
- 1:06:47[SPEAKER_06]: We got balls in referencing batons.
- 1:06:48[SPEAKER_06]: That's all I'm going to say.
- 1:06:49[SPEAKER_06]: It's a weird story.
- 1:06:51[SPEAKER_06]: Go go and pie.
- 1:06:52[SPEAKER_06]: Go go and pie.
- 1:06:53[SPEAKER_06]: Go back and listen to it one more time because there's a lot of references to the twist ending of being the ghost at the end.
- 1:06:59[SPEAKER_06]: Like when that crawler for season, he's like, Oh, what are you doing haunting around out here?
- 1:07:03[SPEAKER_06]: So there's a lot of really cute nuggets in the story.
- 1:07:05[SPEAKER_06]: It's well written.
- 1:07:05[SPEAKER_06]: It's just it's just weird.
- 1:07:07[SPEAKER_06]: Alright everybody, I love you very much.
- 1:07:08[SPEAKER_06]: Thanks for thanks for hanging around.
- 1:07:10[SPEAKER_06]: We'll see you right back here on Graimalkin Lane.
- 1:07:12[SPEAKER_06]: Hey everybody, thanks for sticking around for the second half of the Graimalkin Lane podcast.
- 1:07:17[SPEAKER_06]: And this is a rare video podcast.
- 1:07:20[SPEAKER_06]: So for my regular listeners, you're going to be hearing this in audio, but for my guests, this is not the data pick your nose, because we're going to put this one out on the Patreon.
- 1:07:28[SPEAKER_06]: On May on Grimmelken Lane this month, we are celebrating the character of Janet Bandai and the Wasp, who is much like Moon Dragon.
- 1:07:35[SPEAKER_06]: If you heard my Moon Dragon trial, you heard how much I love her.
- 1:07:38[SPEAKER_06]: I love Janet Bandai.
- 1:07:39[SPEAKER_06]: I think she is one of my top favorite Marvel characters.
- 1:07:42[SPEAKER_06]: Maybe top five?
- 1:07:43[SPEAKER_06]: I really really have a ton of affection for this character.
- 1:07:46[SPEAKER_06]: Now, Genevann, that is known for many things.
- 1:07:48[SPEAKER_06]: One of them is her camp fashion.
- 1:07:51[SPEAKER_06]: She is a fashion designer.
- 1:07:53[SPEAKER_06]: She is a fashion icon in the Marvel Universe.
- 1:07:56[SPEAKER_06]: And Russell Daughterman loves to get his hands on her anytime and debut an entire fashion line.
- 1:08:02[SPEAKER_06]: Two of my very favorite fashion forward friends are here, demand a martini and Alicia Wilder, and we're gonna do a wasp costume gallery review.
- 1:08:11[SPEAKER_06]: Let me hear from both of you, as you introduce yourself to our guests.
- 1:08:15[SPEAKER_06]: What is your relationship with fashion design?
- 1:08:18[SPEAKER_06]: And do you have some early thoughts on the fashion of Janet Van Dyne in particular?
- 1:08:23[SPEAKER_06]: Let me welcome Mandy, martini back to the show here in her favorite wasp look.
- 1:08:27[SPEAKER_14]: So yeah, so this is my hero's book.
- 1:08:29[SPEAKER_14]: So hi, everyone.
- 1:08:30[SPEAKER_14]: It's been a while since I have been in full face for a great walk in lane.
- 1:08:36[SPEAKER_14]: So again, you know, drag queen, cosplayer, yada yada yada, I think you all know the drill by now.
- 1:08:40[SPEAKER_14]: So I am also, and so I have not won yet, but I have been nominated many times in our local theater community for my costume design, my specialties and costume design are big musicals, which these days I don't really unfortunately,
- 1:08:57[SPEAKER_14]: for and making sure that our clothes are built to fit bodies and our bodies fit for clothes.
- 1:09:04[SPEAKER_14]: I have gotten many compliments over the years from especially the our plus size female actresses that we have in our community and unfortunately I've heard the horror stories of after working with me than working with other customers that are not.
- 1:09:18[SPEAKER_14]: Very, uh, I would say fashion forward for a plus size body, which again, plus size is such a weird.
- 1:09:24[SPEAKER_14]: I know that many years ago, I was on Chad shell and we talked about body positivity and body neutrality, plus size is such a weird term because like plus size is anything above a 14 in fashion and 14 is such a like in my opinion, an average size.
- 1:09:40[SPEAKER_14]: In women's cousin also, we all know women's sizes are subjective and stupid and are not the same across the board.
- 1:09:47[SPEAKER_14]: literally change every day.
- 1:09:49[SPEAKER_14]: So again, like, you know, you can say you're a 14, but it's like, but are you a 14 at TJ Maxx or you a 14 at Ross, like, you are a 14 after eating pasta last night.
- 1:10:03[SPEAKER_14]: And, you know, whatever, and also like the people who are like, oh, well, you're like, hold the measuring tape in tight because I plan on losing it.
- 1:10:09[SPEAKER_14]: No, if you lose weight, we can take stuff in.
- 1:10:11[SPEAKER_14]: If you gain weight, we can take stuff out.
- 1:10:13[SPEAKER_14]: Like that's what costumes are for.
- 1:10:15[SPEAKER_14]: And it's not, I'm not forcing you to be in this like cage on stage.
- 1:10:19[SPEAKER_14]: So the reason I got into costume being just really quick is because I am a plus-sized person and I was told many times I was just not going to fit anything that they had.
- 1:10:27[SPEAKER_14]: So I always had to provide my own costume.
- 1:10:30[SPEAKER_14]: So I was like, well, if I have to do this for myself, I might as well just do it for the whole show.
- 1:10:34[SPEAKER_14]: But yeah, so I do love costumeing.
- 1:10:36[SPEAKER_14]: I love all of that Janet Van Dyne.
- 1:10:38[SPEAKER_14]: My favorite thing about her is that she is very fashion forward.
- 1:10:41[SPEAKER_14]: Like sometimes it's crazy.
- 1:10:43[SPEAKER_14]: It's camp.
- 1:10:44[SPEAKER_14]: The colors are wild, but I love that she just goes for it.
- 1:10:47[SPEAKER_06]: And the least of wilders here, everyone.
- 1:10:49[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, y'all, what's up, Alicia Wilder here.
- 1:10:52[SPEAKER_01]: You know me from script readings and great-melt can lean trials and the x-wife podcast and I'm a cosplayer and a dancer and all those fun things.
- 1:11:00[SPEAKER_01]: My relationship to fashion design is really just myself for like fashion.
- 1:11:07[SPEAKER_01]: What I'll put air quotes around fashion is me just being like, hmm.
- 1:11:11[SPEAKER_01]: I really am drawn to this particular piece of clothing.
- 1:11:13[SPEAKER_01]: What wacky outfit can I make around that?
- 1:11:16[SPEAKER_01]: And like, really in the last five or 10 years, I've especially like come into this idea that like, if you feel confident in something, you should wear it.
- 1:11:24[SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't matter like what is, you know, how something is supposed to be worn or what other people perceive of it.
- 1:11:30[SPEAKER_01]: It's just like getting into your comfort with your clothing is like, if it makes you feel powerful and amazing, put it on your body, do it.
- 1:11:36[SPEAKER_01]: And then similarly, I do a lot of costume design for my job, so that involves creating and working with people to design costumes for living statues and dance performances mostly and really trying to understand like how to make something both functional and fashionable like how do you make a statement with something but also make it so that you can move in it and work a lot with like repurposing things that already exist.
- 1:12:02[SPEAKER_01]: But really trying to say, like, how do we take this thing and this vision that someone has for like, I don't know, space, like the space version of the 50s housewife, right?
- 1:12:12[SPEAKER_01]: And like, yeah, you kind of go in like the Jetsons route, but then like, how do you make that even more space?
- 1:12:17[SPEAKER_01]: More in space.
- 1:12:18[SPEAKER_01]: And so like, you know, thinking about that and then also how do you dance in it?
- 1:12:21[SPEAKER_01]: How do you turn in it?
- 1:12:22[SPEAKER_01]: How do you kick your face within it?
- 1:12:23[SPEAKER_01]: And like, be stable in that and then also not sweat to death.
- 1:12:26[SPEAKER_01]: So really, it's like, form meets function
- 1:12:31[SPEAKER_01]: Now, as far as our girl here is concerned, I think what I like most about her is that every time Chad sends me a page, a panel, she's wearing something different.
- 1:12:41[SPEAKER_06]: So, it's like- So, friends, Alicia and Demander are both going to be in the Duosp trial at the end of the month.
- 1:12:45[SPEAKER_06]: And we've had for several months going a daily, I send a daily image of Janet Van Dyne, many of which I post on Instagram, but yeah, please, please continue.
- 1:12:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's so good.
- 1:12:53[SPEAKER_01]: And so it's always like, what's Janet doing today?
- 1:12:55[SPEAKER_01]: What's she wearing today?
- 1:12:56[SPEAKER_01]: And like, I think that it's really empowering that she is just ready to be someone else or be in a different look and just be like, yeah, what do I feel like today?
- 1:13:06[SPEAKER_01]: She expresses herself through her clothes.
- 1:13:07[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that's really cool.
- 1:13:09[SPEAKER_06]: So I like that you give us some B words for the wasp character.
- 1:13:14[SPEAKER_06]: So it's just, it's just as wide Anglo-Saxon Protestants around here, everybody.
- 1:13:19[SPEAKER_06]: We're with a Wasp Fashion Review.
- 1:13:21[SPEAKER_06]: Now Anthony Alibera wrote an issue of Avengers Academy, the infinity comic, where Genevann then comes into design new costumes for all of the kids.
- 1:13:30[SPEAKER_06]: And in every one of them, she individualizes the look.
- 1:13:32[SPEAKER_06]: So like for Escapade, who's a trans character, like let's give you something more baggy that sticks with your aesthetic and per Captain America, it's like very streamlined and with Moongirl, it's very like related to functionality.
- 1:13:42[SPEAKER_06]: But when it comes to Kid Juggernaut, she's like, okay, like your clothes don't imagine it sucks in sandals.
- 1:13:47[SPEAKER_06]: I don't know why it, but it works for you.
- 1:13:49[SPEAKER_06]: So like go do your thing, buddy.
- 1:13:50[SPEAKER_06]: It's really interesting when we do the Grey Malken Lane Fashion Reviews at various panels.
- 1:13:55[SPEAKER_06]: You hopefully have attended one live.
- 1:13:57[SPEAKER_06]: We've got a fun one plan for this year later at different cons.
- 1:13:59[SPEAKER_06]: This one's going to be focused solely on Janet's looks for herself, all of which she designs for herself.
- 1:14:05[SPEAKER_06]: And some of the things we want to consider is time period.
- 1:14:08[SPEAKER_06]: We want to look at some of the signature looks.
- 1:14:11[SPEAKER_06]: For example, she loves a shoulder pad.
- 1:14:13[SPEAKER_06]: She loves a boot.
- 1:14:14[SPEAKER_06]: She loves a color scheme.
- 1:14:16[SPEAKER_06]: She loves a little W. She loves a stinger hat.
- 1:14:19[SPEAKER_06]: And then we want to see how that updates over time.
- 1:14:21[SPEAKER_06]: And we could do the thing we're comparing it to what she's going through in her life at the time.
- 1:14:26[SPEAKER_06]: But we're just going to look at the fashion for fashion and sake.
- 1:14:29[SPEAKER_06]: Now, she designs many clothes for many people and has fashion lines in the Marvel universe, but we're gonna talk about each of her looks.
- 1:14:35[SPEAKER_06]: Beginning, I think the biggest discussion has to be about this initial look.
- 1:14:39[SPEAKER_06]: This is a more modern art reinterpretation of the original look from the early 1960s.
- 1:14:45[SPEAKER_06]: Janet Van Dyne is around 18 when we first meet her.
- 1:14:49[SPEAKER_06]: Her dad has just been murdered.
- 1:14:50[SPEAKER_06]: Henry Pym has just given her antennas and wings so that when she shrinks down the wings grow and the antennas grow.
- 1:14:56[SPEAKER_06]: and she has to design all of her clothing with pin particles so that it can grow and shrink with her.
- 1:15:01[SPEAKER_06]: So she often wears it underneath her clothing.
- 1:15:04[SPEAKER_06]: At least what are your thoughts on this initial look of Janet?
- 1:15:08[SPEAKER_06]: What do you love?
- 1:15:09[SPEAKER_06]: What do you hate?
- 1:15:10[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, what I love is the romper.
- 1:15:12[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, the romper vibe, the little shorts, the silhouette of those shorts is so
- 1:15:17[SPEAKER_01]: nice.
- 1:15:17[SPEAKER_01]: I can feel like if I was going to wear those shorts, they would fit me comfortably because they have space.
- 1:15:23[SPEAKER_01]: They're short, but they're not super super tight and like how it tapers up at her waistline.
- 1:15:27[SPEAKER_01]: She just is a very flattering look for her.
- 1:15:30[SPEAKER_01]: The balance of like the shoulders being wider than the hips is nice.
- 1:15:34[SPEAKER_01]: It's a good vibe.
- 1:15:35[SPEAKER_01]: I'm into it.
- 1:15:36[SPEAKER_01]: I like the the W. Where it is.
- 1:15:39[SPEAKER_01]: I like the gloves.
- 1:15:40[SPEAKER_01]: I like the boots.
- 1:15:41[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not like the biggest fan of the Stinger hat.
- 1:15:43[SPEAKER_01]: I think that like how she's got it going on here is fine.
- 1:15:47[SPEAKER_01]: But I think that I personally would have liked to see that singer on the booty.
- 1:15:51[SPEAKER_01]: I think that would have been a cute little tie in the back.
- 1:15:54[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, I think that the silhouette of this is really nice.
- 1:15:56[SPEAKER_01]: And if you took away those canisters on her belt and the Stinger hat and the headset, she would, I could what you could wear that outfit out.
- 1:16:04[SPEAKER_06]: It's interesting.
- 1:16:05[SPEAKER_06]: The color scheme is meant to match Aunt Manor Giant Manor Her partner.
- 1:16:09[SPEAKER_06]: She's like giving them a couple vibes right from the very beginning.
- 1:16:13[SPEAKER_06]: And in the normal fashion reviews, everybody, we give everything a snicker a kick.
- 1:16:17[SPEAKER_06]: In this, we're going to give it a Janet Van Find or a Janet Van Dunn.
- 1:16:23[SPEAKER_06]: So which one is it for you here, Alicia?
- 1:16:25[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, that's a genuine fine.
- 1:16:26[SPEAKER_06]: So Mandy, let me have you take Janet's second look.
- 1:16:30[SPEAKER_14]: Hey, oh, oh, that's that's that's hard.
- 1:16:32[SPEAKER_14]: That's hard.
- 1:16:33[SPEAKER_14]: So I appreciate the fact that she went with the like more simpler, full black body suit.
- 1:16:40[SPEAKER_14]: The full head cowl on a lady in particular is always going to be a hard cell for me.
- 1:16:47[SPEAKER_14]: Whether it's Janet.
- 1:16:48[SPEAKER_14]: Um, Jean has done it, but Jean did like the typical like cut out the back to let your hair out.
- 1:16:55[SPEAKER_14]: Also, shamrock did this for a while.
- 1:16:57[SPEAKER_14]: I don't know who else has done like like the full thing.
- 1:17:00[SPEAKER_14]: Cause number one, we all know that Janet is a fashion girly and in the 60s, especially.
- 1:17:05[SPEAKER_14]: girl, you're going to ruin your hair.
- 1:17:07[SPEAKER_14]: How did her hair that we all know?
- 1:17:09[SPEAKER_14]: She gets roller set once a week and sprayed to high heaven.
- 1:17:13[SPEAKER_14]: How was that fitting under here?
- 1:17:15[SPEAKER_14]: And what, like, that's not a quick change accessible.
- 1:17:18[SPEAKER_14]: I'm glad that she moved that she doesn't stick with this.
- 1:17:21[SPEAKER_14]: I do think the W on the forehead is fun.
- 1:17:24[SPEAKER_14]: But that again, a full head cow, especially on a lady that I know is very appearance conscious.
- 1:17:31[SPEAKER_14]: It's just, it's just not, it's, it's not.
- 1:17:34[SPEAKER_14]: for me.
- 1:17:35[SPEAKER_14]: But like again, it's just a little bit of an update of the suit.
- 1:17:38[SPEAKER_14]: I wish she didn't lose the shoulder pads because again, I think the shoulder pads on her are super fun.
- 1:17:43[SPEAKER_14]: At least she brought up the fact that like the shoulders are bigger than the hips.
- 1:17:47[SPEAKER_14]: In drag we talked about proportionizing like you want to make sure that like you have like the hourglass sort of because so even though I am not a you know 34 or 2634 or whatever like the stupid measurements are.
- 1:17:58[SPEAKER_14]: I like proportionize myself to make sure that I still have that hourglass look and so I wish that she's still kind of have like the bigger shoulders and like the flared out shorts.
- 1:18:09[SPEAKER_14]: I think it's a thing I'm done.
- 1:18:10[SPEAKER_06]: I get annoyed by the double W the double the belt.
- 1:18:14[SPEAKER_06]: Oh yeah.
- 1:18:15[SPEAKER_06]: He was like over-branding.
- 1:18:16[SPEAKER_06]: Okay.
- 1:18:16[SPEAKER_06]: Alicia.
- 1:18:17[SPEAKER_06]: What do we think?
- 1:18:18[SPEAKER_06]: Janet's third look.
- 1:18:19[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 1:18:20[SPEAKER_01]: I hate feel like so far this has been unfair to Dementa.
- 1:18:24[SPEAKER_01]: This is giving like pin up girl swimsuit vibes and I am super into it I don't know that like you know I was talking about form versus function and bringing them together I don't know that this is really giving like I could do a lot of super heroics in this like where are your gloves like where are your boots like what are you?
- 1:18:45[SPEAKER_01]: Where is any protection for you, but
- 1:18:47[SPEAKER_01]: she looks cute like I like the silhouette.
- 1:18:50[SPEAKER_01]: I think that that like the neckline coming down kind of giving that like halter feel again super confident.
- 1:18:56[SPEAKER_06]: Amazing.
- 1:18:57[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah her hair is looking good.
- 1:18:59[SPEAKER_01]: So this is exactly two demand is point like if you add this up in a cowl how you're going to get it down looking so good.
- 1:19:06[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah this is another Van Find for me.
- 1:19:08[SPEAKER_14]: I'm just really quickly.
- 1:19:10[SPEAKER_14]: I also love the neckline because it's like that Russo.
- 1:19:12[SPEAKER_14]: It's like the gathered up the top So it's not like super tight to give like the fall like cleavage deglotage But then like the titties are setting.
- 1:19:21[SPEAKER_14]: Yeah, they look good.
- 1:19:22[SPEAKER_06]: Hey, many look number four.
- 1:19:25[SPEAKER_14]: Oh Janette's this is very unfair now.
- 1:19:27[SPEAKER_14]: She's again.
- 1:19:28[SPEAKER_14]: She brought back their shoulder pads.
- 1:19:30[SPEAKER_14]: She
- 1:19:30[SPEAKER_14]: She's a good guy that's so far.
- 1:19:33[SPEAKER_14]: Yeah, which again, from the neck down I like I wish instead of this like like cowl piece That's like smashing the top of her head.
- 1:19:43[SPEAKER_14]: I wish it was just like more of like a scarlet which moment Which is like a tiara kind of situation.
- 1:19:48[SPEAKER_14]: So her full hair is still out
- 1:19:50[SPEAKER_06]: This is like giving like very zig-fried spollies to me.
- 1:19:54[SPEAKER_14]: So it gives very tallula bankhead.
- 1:19:57[SPEAKER_14]: And it's like for super heroics, I'm not sure that's the vibe.
- 1:20:02[SPEAKER_14]: But also again, I'm not super familiar with Janice early days.
- 1:20:06[SPEAKER_14]: What she's super concerned about people knowing that she was Jan at Van Dyne.
- 1:20:08[SPEAKER_14]: And now not really.
- 1:20:11[SPEAKER_14]: like at it's like girl, we're just full face out.
- 1:20:14[SPEAKER_14]: I mean, which is fine.
- 1:20:16[SPEAKER_14]: But if you really like the gold belt, I think the gold belt is fine because one does want to hint of color.
- 1:20:21[SPEAKER_14]: Like in fashion, sometimes you have like a color scheme but then you want like the one color to like pop out.
- 1:20:29[SPEAKER_14]: Like for example, I'm gonna bring it up now hopefully I won't bring it up again.
- 1:20:33[SPEAKER_14]: rivalry, but Hudson Williams and his girlfriend when they went to the Vendicia after party, they both wore all black, but she had emerald earrings and like the emerald earrings like really popped out even though like she has like the two colors, like sometimes you want to introduce like that third color very very like just a little of it.
- 1:20:51[SPEAKER_14]: That's a vampire for me.
- 1:20:52[SPEAKER_01]: Also I'd like to call out her black lipstick in this look for me.
- 1:20:56[SPEAKER_01]: I love a black lip.
- 1:20:57[SPEAKER_06]: So I think that's
- 1:21:00[SPEAKER_01]: Oh man, okay, so I think this color scheme is giving a little Ronald McDonald's.
- 1:21:09[SPEAKER_01]: We have this really bright yellow and again, a red underneath.
- 1:21:14[SPEAKER_01]: And the yellow has like, you know, it has a nice color.
- 1:21:17[SPEAKER_01]: It's got some cutouts on the side where you can see the red through.
- 1:21:20[SPEAKER_01]: We've got that similar pin up girl, silhouette of the yellow piece over.
- 1:21:26[SPEAKER_01]: Like it's giving a little mix of a swimsuit,
- 1:21:30[SPEAKER_01]: And then you've got this, like, unit hard with a mock turtle neck, which, you know, I'm not opposed.
- 1:21:35[SPEAKER_01]: Can I see the gloves and stuff?
- 1:21:37[SPEAKER_06]: This is somehow giving me Carol Burnett.
- 1:21:39[SPEAKER_06]: I don't know.
- 1:21:40[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's giving a little bit like kind of a flare of B witch.
- 1:21:45[SPEAKER_01]: But for me, the color scheme is just to that yellow is just too harsh of a yellow with that red.
- 1:21:51[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that like it has potential, I see the vision, but I'm not loving the like body suit over a Unitard vibe.
- 1:22:01[SPEAKER_01]: It's not my favorite.
- 1:22:02[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's a Janet Vendonna, I hate to say.
- 1:22:04[SPEAKER_14]: But it's going to say I love the texture of the yellow oversuit like it's for again for like the listing on it's like there's like a texture to go so I can't tell is it is it's sequined is there is it for is it armor like I kind of like that also this hair on Janet any time I think of Janet this is the hair that I think of yeah she loves a short bob community here is for like the purple cutouts so.
- 1:22:30[SPEAKER_14]: Okay, here's the thing this is obviously getting into more of like the mod go go era with this So this is a purple body suit with a lot of cutouts.
- 1:22:41[SPEAKER_14]: It's like
- 1:22:45[SPEAKER_14]: It's a bikini top that connects at her belly button to, again, like, stir up, that go down to the pants, but there's circular cutouts from, like, midsection all the way down to thigh.
- 1:22:57[SPEAKER_14]: I love the color.
- 1:22:58[SPEAKER_14]: I, I love the fact that she went with a bold color choice that she had not been known to wear before.
- 1:23:04[SPEAKER_14]: I do love the darker purple boots.
- 1:23:06[SPEAKER_14]: I wish that the darker purple came up and either, like, her wrist coughs, her choker, maybe, like,
- 1:23:14[SPEAKER_14]: Like I wish that that darker purple would have like come up in like otherwise it's I mean it's a super bold choice.
- 1:23:21[SPEAKER_14]: This hair is everything the little this the smoothie bang on the on the Bob on the Bob Brown football home at this is very Milan for it's you Magnolia's fans like this is a choice she makes every time Hank is in the lab for too long and she's like well let's see what he has to say about this
- 1:23:37[SPEAKER_14]: And we're not going to get too much into the character stuff because we're going to save that for the trial, but there are definitely times when it's like, oh, you haven't been paying attention to me for a while.
- 1:23:46[SPEAKER_14]: So let me get my tits out.
- 1:23:48[SPEAKER_14]: I mean, the thing is she looks great kind of like what.
- 1:23:53[SPEAKER_14]: Alicia was saying earlier, I don't know if this is super hero of us, but with this costume, I'm now understand why she tried to put fire star in the super sexy costume when fire star first showing the adventures because she's like, you're young, you're hot, what like, um, Moira from the shit's from shit's creep.
- 1:24:12[SPEAKER_11]: We're right.
- 1:24:13[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah.
- 1:24:13[SPEAKER_14]: Take naked photos of yourself now.
- 1:24:15[SPEAKER_14]: Like, you're never going to be as hot as you are now.
- 1:24:18[SPEAKER_14]: So like, get me hot.
- 1:24:20[SPEAKER_14]: And she is hot.
- 1:24:21[SPEAKER_14]: Like this is very borderline for me.
- 1:24:24[SPEAKER_14]: I love it.
- 1:24:26[SPEAKER_14]: I can't wear that Because I wear too many undergarments for this particular look.
- 1:24:33[SPEAKER_14]: I love it and I love the confidence that she has an wearing it Do I think it's appropriate for super heroing?
- 1:24:39[SPEAKER_14]: No, but I'm still gonna give it a van of and fine Because you have a one word one word reaction to this look your eyes went wide
- 1:24:48[SPEAKER_01]: That's wild.
- 1:24:50[SPEAKER_01]: It's all wild.
- 1:24:51[SPEAKER_01]: That's my reaction.
- 1:24:52[SPEAKER_01]: Do you?
- 1:24:54[SPEAKER_06]: Okay, for Alicia, here is the next look.
- 1:24:57[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, my Lanta Santa.
- 1:24:59[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 1:24:59[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 1:24:59[SPEAKER_01]: So this is giving like, it's giving like Amazon Warrior, like a little wonder woman asked.
- 1:25:06[SPEAKER_01]: There's like a lot of W's.
- 1:25:08[SPEAKER_01]: There's a W in the in the cleavage.
- 1:25:10[SPEAKER_01]: There's a W on the crotch.
- 1:25:12[SPEAKER_01]: There's a W at the top of the boots.
- 1:25:14[SPEAKER_06]: on the gloves?
- 1:25:15[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, on the gloves.
- 1:25:17[SPEAKER_01]: It's like a little aggressive on the W theme for me.
- 1:25:21[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that like the cut of this is giving a little bit more of a masculine energy than she has in some of her other looks.
- 1:25:29[SPEAKER_01]: And so I'm all four like showing off the muscles.
- 1:25:32[SPEAKER_01]: I think that that's great.
- 1:25:33[SPEAKER_01]: But I think that in terms of like overdoing it with the W. So there's too many W's.
- 1:25:39[SPEAKER_01]: And I think like we have to think about that when we're placing things with points
- 1:25:43[SPEAKER_01]: our body like where are the points pointing and it's really for me that middle point of the W is really emphasizing the crotch and I don't know that like I love that because that's where my eye goes first.
- 1:25:55[SPEAKER_01]: My eye immediately goes to the W's and this like center line of her body down to the crotch and it feels for me like a little bit of like I don't know like it's like it's trying a little bit too hard.
- 1:26:05[SPEAKER_06]: You like this color combination.
- 1:26:06[SPEAKER_06]: It's like orange and yellow.
- 1:26:08[SPEAKER_06]: I'm muted into each other.
- 1:26:09[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think that these two colors complement each other a lot better.
- 1:26:13[SPEAKER_01]: This orange color compliments this yellow a lot better.
- 1:26:15[SPEAKER_01]: But I think in terms of like her complexion, this is a color choice that kind of washes her out.
- 1:26:21[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm not super, I'm not a super big fan of it.
- 1:26:24[SPEAKER_01]: I really like the boots.
- 1:26:26[SPEAKER_01]: And I feel like if she had gone with those boots and kept the W's on those boots, I would be into it.
- 1:26:30[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm going to say, and the gloves are giving a little like circus gesture.
- 1:26:35[SPEAKER_01]: are van fine and the rest of it's a van done.
- 1:26:38[SPEAKER_06]: But van, van, van done over a week.
- 1:26:40[SPEAKER_14]: Usually, my cronauts, like that's what I see with this.
- 1:26:45[SPEAKER_14]: I agree that with her complexion, it doesn't work.
- 1:26:48[SPEAKER_14]: And also, like, this is something that she's obviously not going to wear when she's feeling bloated, because she's going to get moose, not a real bad, like in that double.
- 1:26:57[SPEAKER_06]: You can totally wear this while bloated, though.
- 1:27:01[SPEAKER_06]: Thank you, Amanda.
- 1:27:01[SPEAKER_06]: The next look.
- 1:27:03[SPEAKER_06]: Is the one man he's wearing?
- 1:27:05[SPEAKER_14]: Like that, perfect.
- 1:27:07[SPEAKER_14]: So those of you who can see the image, obviously I made some edits, design-wise, what I had the suit made because of, I got the undergarments that I have to, the eyewear when I'm all together.
- 1:27:19[SPEAKER_14]: But I love this look.
- 1:27:21[SPEAKER_14]: It's so stupid, completely impractical, but I love it so much.
- 1:27:27[SPEAKER_06]: I like arm, arm, and left leg bear.
- 1:27:33[SPEAKER_14]: Yes.
- 1:27:33[SPEAKER_14]: And again, like the giant W. So again, she has the cutouts here, but because of the undergarments that I wear, I have my W completely filled in and also the strap on the what is this my right side.
- 1:27:47[SPEAKER_14]: She just has like the blue straps, but I have that I have that like completely filled in to that way.
- 1:27:53[SPEAKER_14]: I have a little a little more coverage.
- 1:27:55[SPEAKER_14]: Again, I love it.
- 1:27:56[SPEAKER_14]: It's fully like 70s, 80s asymmetrical.
- 1:28:00[SPEAKER_14]: It doesn't make any sense.
- 1:28:02[SPEAKER_14]: It's so stupid Which is why I needed to put it on my body.
- 1:28:07[SPEAKER_14]: I love the blue and white in the smell And the things I love the blue and white for her her signature colors are like the red and black So I love the fact that like this blue and white.
- 1:28:18[SPEAKER_14]: She's like, oh no, we're gonna we're gonna do white now.
- 1:28:20[SPEAKER_14]: We're we're doing white so I
- 1:28:22[SPEAKER_14]: I love it.
- 1:28:23[SPEAKER_14]: I got an Xero sense.
- 1:28:24[SPEAKER_14]: I don't care if it's other people hate it.
- 1:28:26[SPEAKER_14]: I love it.
- 1:28:27[SPEAKER_06]: This one's been fine.
- 1:28:28[SPEAKER_06]: Yes, it's been fine.
- 1:28:29[SPEAKER_01]: It has such good balance.
- 1:28:30[SPEAKER_01]: Like the fact that she put a cuff and the high boot on the exposed skin.
- 1:28:35[SPEAKER_01]: Like it does balance it out and it feels like I feel like she could be like the star of a roller disco in this.
- 1:28:43[SPEAKER_06]: So many of the books are giving like the younger woman in the substance to me.
- 1:28:48[SPEAKER_01]: This is very Zanadil.
- 1:28:49[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, oh my god, it's so Zanadil.
- 1:28:51[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my god.
- 1:28:52[SPEAKER_06]: Okay, Alicia, her next look.
- 1:28:54[SPEAKER_06]: And this is the best image of the full look.
- 1:28:56[SPEAKER_06]: We have this little Avengers.
- 1:28:57[SPEAKER_06]: Okay, first of all, we have to talk about what she walks wearing because I love it.
- 1:29:01[SPEAKER_06]: But let me tell me about Janet's look here.
- 1:29:03[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, I'm super into this look.
- 1:29:05[SPEAKER_01]: I love those little booties.
- 1:29:07[SPEAKER_01]: I love so she's got it's red and blue.
- 1:29:09[SPEAKER_01]: We've got a red mock.
- 1:29:11[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to say this looks like she may have repurposed that red mock neck body suit from the yellow overlay that I was like not feeling
- 1:29:19[SPEAKER_01]: This is very similar in cut, but it goes back to having those pointy shoulders, like shoulder pad business coming out.
- 1:29:28[SPEAKER_01]: We've got like a nice silhouette of the line of the overbody suit that is like this light blue matching the boots and the gloves with their for the gloves flare out at the bottom.
- 1:29:39[SPEAKER_01]: It's very in line like it's.
- 1:29:41[SPEAKER_01]: It's like a red and blue version of like the yellow and black classic kitty pride.
- 1:29:46[SPEAKER_01]: So I think I might be a little bit biased in my feeling for it.
- 1:29:50[SPEAKER_01]: But I think these two colors complement each other so much better.
- 1:29:54[SPEAKER_01]: And just the difference of like the shape of the neckline and the shoulders versus the collar on the yellow one.
- 1:29:59[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 1:30:00[SPEAKER_01]: I'm really into this.
- 1:30:01[SPEAKER_01]: I'm really into this one.
- 1:30:02[SPEAKER_01]: I think she looks super cute.
- 1:30:04[SPEAKER_01]: I'm really into those booties.
- 1:30:05[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, this is a van fine for me.
- 1:30:11[SPEAKER_01]: or a prince.
- 1:30:13[SPEAKER_06]: Demanda, we have this secret war's look when she's fucking magneto.
- 1:30:16[SPEAKER_14]: That's the end of this magneto suit, which I like, is it molten man who eventually is not going to say exactly like molecule man who's wearing it basically the same costume in the same issue.
- 1:30:26[SPEAKER_06]: It's bizarre.
- 1:30:27[SPEAKER_14]: Yeah, they're literally wearing the same thing.
- 1:30:30[SPEAKER_14]: And like the thing is you know that she saw molecule man and she was like one of us has to change and it's not going to
- 1:30:36[SPEAKER_06]: Purple and green are often villain colors, so it's a bold choice.
- 1:30:39[SPEAKER_14]: Yeah, so it's, it's a very interesting color choice for her because again, yeah, like the purple's and greens are definitely more like villain colors, especially when they're combined together.
- 1:30:49[SPEAKER_14]: I mean, again, she is fucking magneto at this time, which again, girl,
- 1:30:55[SPEAKER_06]: She's also thinking deadpool during this time.
- 1:30:59[SPEAKER_14]: Woo.
- 1:30:59[SPEAKER_14]: Oh, she's, and I don't like this look.
- 1:31:01[SPEAKER_14]: I think it's ugly.
- 1:31:02[SPEAKER_14]: I think it's terrible.
- 1:31:03[SPEAKER_14]: It's very overly masculine.
- 1:31:05[SPEAKER_14]: The Chest W is fun, but it's not enough to save this look.
- 1:31:10[SPEAKER_14]: Because it's, it's giving very days of future past concentration camp to play with nerd trousers.
- 1:31:16[SPEAKER_06]: I have to hear your thoughts on her hair, though.
- 1:31:19[SPEAKER_14]: The hair is awful.
- 1:31:20[SPEAKER_14]: Like it's terrible.
- 1:31:22[SPEAKER_14]: She's on battle world.
- 1:31:23[SPEAKER_14]: She obviously is not able to see her regular hair guy like like so like we're going to forgive her for looking like this But you know that she's mad.
- 1:31:31[SPEAKER_01]: It's giving grandma a little.
- 1:31:33[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, so then done on this one.
- 1:31:35[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, that's a good time
- 1:31:37[SPEAKER_06]: Alicia, here's a, this is different than the earlier look.
- 1:31:41[SPEAKER_06]: This has some different components, but we're back to the yellow over red, dish panel.
- 1:31:45[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 1:31:45[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 1:31:46[SPEAKER_01]: So here, we're basically taking that OG yellow red and the blue and red that I just said I liked and we're kind of merging them together.
- 1:31:54[SPEAKER_01]: She still got the collar action going with the yellow overlay.
- 1:31:57[SPEAKER_01]: She still got that red underneath, but this time it doesn't have the mock turtle neck, which I think does
- 1:32:06[SPEAKER_01]: It's the colors for me too.
- 1:32:07[SPEAKER_01]: I can't look at it and not, especially because her red hair and not see Ronald McDonald.
- 1:32:12[SPEAKER_01]: So I think like I like the silhouette, but I would like her to walk away from this color Pat like these color combinations is just the yellow is so yellow and the red is so red that it's just saying, hey, do you want to happy me on and play in my play place.
- 1:32:26[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just not, I'm not into it.
- 1:32:28[SPEAKER_01]: But I do like the cut of this body suit better.
- 1:32:30[SPEAKER_01]: And I do think that her hair is like, it's starting to grow back into that more bob look that we like and with the swoopies coming out of the side, it's good.
- 1:32:40[SPEAKER_01]: So, but I'm still, it's the colors for me.
- 1:32:42[SPEAKER_01]: I have to go Van Dunn because I don't want you to wear these two colors together.
- 1:32:45[SPEAKER_06]: This is giving a little like yellow jackets first costume where it's that like flared collar.
- 1:32:50[SPEAKER_14]: It's like, I don't, I like the collar because it is very insect-like.
- 1:32:57[SPEAKER_14]: It gives very like bug armor.
- 1:32:59[SPEAKER_14]: It gives bug wings.
- 1:33:01[SPEAKER_06]: Excellent skeleton.
- 1:33:02[SPEAKER_14]: Yeah.
- 1:33:02[SPEAKER_14]: I don't find the shape of the body suit.
- 1:33:05[SPEAKER_14]: I don't like the white and red for her.
- 1:33:07[SPEAKER_14]: It gives very ambulance, like medical team.
- 1:33:11[SPEAKER_14]: I wish that she had this, but in the blue.
- 1:33:14[SPEAKER_14]: I also wish that she kept the pointy shoulders.
- 1:33:18[SPEAKER_01]: Mm-hmm.
- 1:33:18[SPEAKER_01]: I do really like the way that the silhouette of the top of the boot, the way that the boot kind of like, yes.
- 1:33:24[SPEAKER_01]: Opened and does this like heart shape is really similar to the collar.
- 1:33:28[SPEAKER_14]: Like, I still give this event done.
- 1:33:30[SPEAKER_14]: Like, it's, it's like, yeah, there's too many things that I'm like, I wish it had done this differently.
- 1:33:36[SPEAKER_06]: But she loves like a, a body suit goes all the way down to her wrist and ankles.
- 1:33:41[SPEAKER_06]: And then like a tunic over it.
- 1:33:43[SPEAKER_06]: Like, this is the consistent pattern.
- 1:33:45[SPEAKER_06]: Alicia hears her next look.
- 1:33:47[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my god, she's so cute.
- 1:33:49[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 1:33:50[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 1:33:50[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 1:33:51[SPEAKER_01]: I this is the time where I'm okay with the yellow on the red together because we've got black body suit underneath and then this cutie little red.
- 1:33:59[SPEAKER_01]: It's like a it kind of gives like peplum top vibes, but also like a mini dress that is so adorable with a yellow belt and then that bigger yellow collar, but we've still got that like oversized leave happening the shoulder pad moment happening again.
- 1:34:15[SPEAKER_01]: We have these cutie boots.
- 1:34:16[SPEAKER_14]: We got, they've got so come to you, I love them.
- 1:34:19[SPEAKER_01]: Those boots are stunning.
- 1:34:21[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, they got a nice little heel.
- 1:34:22[SPEAKER_01]: They're, they're wide at the top, but they're just like just under the calf.
- 1:34:26[SPEAKER_01]: The gloves have a matching silhouette.
- 1:34:28[SPEAKER_01]: She's got the bob and the flip back.
- 1:34:30[SPEAKER_01]: She's giving like the cutest kid in town.
- 1:34:33[SPEAKER_01]: I love this.
- 1:34:34[SPEAKER_01]: I love this.
- 1:34:35[SPEAKER_01]: This is a van fine for me.
- 1:34:36[SPEAKER_06]: This is giving a little bit of a like legion of superheroes for me.
- 1:34:39[SPEAKER_06]: Some hats.
- 1:34:41[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
- 1:34:41[SPEAKER_06]: And Mandy, we now move on to her green white and black.
- 1:34:44[SPEAKER_14]: though she went into Rogues closet, that she, and so the thing is, the last one that you gave me is also Rogues closet, like that first one was definitely giving like Rogues for disappearance.
- 1:34:57[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, that's what I'm going to have that literal hairdo for a while.
- 1:34:59[SPEAKER_14]: Yes, so like this is giving very 80s punk robe, but without like the punk flare.
- 1:35:05[SPEAKER_14]: I also don't think I like Jannette in green because it's too tinkerbell and and no and because also if you didn't know tinkerbell's the villain we don't we don't care for her we like the shape of the top so it's the pointed shoulders and then like kind of the flare skirt, but
- 1:35:23[SPEAKER_14]: Because this is more of like a boat neck black body suit underneath.
- 1:35:29[SPEAKER_14]: And I feel like with the boat neck and then like the really deep V of like the pointed sleeve tunic the pointed shoulder tunic it's it's just it's it's it's trying to do to anything that this feels very what's clean in the drag closet we have to go now on an emergency thing this is clean this is ready let me just go also I can't tell if there's like a W neck
- 1:35:52[SPEAKER_06]: It's like colored poorly, but it's like a W necklace and then the longer green boot, which is giving a very Peter Pan.
- 1:35:59[SPEAKER_06]: Is it helpful?
- 1:36:00[SPEAKER_14]: That was fun.
- 1:36:01[SPEAKER_14]: This is a van done.
- 1:36:02[SPEAKER_14]: I don't care for this whole look.
- 1:36:04[SPEAKER_06]: Alicia.
- 1:36:05[SPEAKER_06]: Here.
- 1:36:06[SPEAKER_06]: Next.
- 1:36:06[SPEAKER_06]: We've got the antennas back.
- 1:36:07[SPEAKER_06]: We haven't seen the antennas in a while.
- 1:36:09[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, okay, so here's here's how I feel about this.
- 1:36:11[SPEAKER_01]: Do I feel so we've we've got again black with the yellow coming over it kind of looks like she's got also some long like three quarter length white gloves and some fat like mid calf white boots which I'm into I like the the layers.
- 1:36:28[SPEAKER_01]: My first initial reaction when you scrolled up to it was, oh, the boobs are just out.
- 1:36:33[SPEAKER_01]: Like this yellow body suit underneath is like coming up between her cleavage and then like kind of really emphasizing where her boobs are.
- 1:36:41[SPEAKER_01]: And then she's got this like, the neck is giving like a cowly bandana vibe.
- 1:36:46[SPEAKER_01]: But the more than I look at it, the more I'm saying, you took the idea of what does a loss look like and how do I make it fashionable?
- 1:36:53[SPEAKER_01]: And it's making me like it more.
- 1:36:55[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like this is giving very insect like the pattern of an insect, you know, giving that like exoskeleton vibe.
- 1:37:02[SPEAKER_06]: We've got a little old earring.
- 1:37:04[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, I'm really, I just keep looking at our boobs and I'm just feeling unsure about how I feel about it.
- 1:37:13[SPEAKER_14]: This looks like she took a look at Aurora's costume when she'd makes the terrible choices in alpha flight.
- 1:37:19[SPEAKER_14]: And I was like, I want to try to make this better and she did not.
- 1:37:22[SPEAKER_14]: I think you forgot.
- 1:37:23[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I give her points for effort in trying to really go with like, how do I make myself look like a wash?
- 1:37:29[SPEAKER_01]: But it's just not, the cutouts are just not working.
- 1:37:32[SPEAKER_06]: It's going to be done, done, done.
- 1:37:34[SPEAKER_06]: And they're done, Mandy.
- 1:37:36[SPEAKER_14]: First of all, I want, so the only note, my only note is I wish that instead of it was a white collar on, so it's, it's a very typical wash little of the black body suit with a magenta, very pointy shoulder body suit over it with little like pixie boots and gloves.
- 1:38:02[SPEAKER_14]: Great.
- 1:38:03[SPEAKER_14]: I wish instead of white for the color and the cuff.
- 1:38:07[SPEAKER_14]: I wish it was like a very light pink like her wings are colored in this also she's wearing a bottle of all, which I shouldn't like, but I kind of do because she keeps her bang out and I kind of like the peak of bang where she's like,
- 1:38:22[SPEAKER_14]: I'm going super here, I'm going to protect my hair, but I have my little bang out.
- 1:38:28[SPEAKER_14]: Do you know what would make this also more extra county?
- 1:38:31[SPEAKER_14]: Is if she were the earrings on the outside of the box of all?
- 1:38:34[SPEAKER_14]: Like, especially women who wear like, um, to job or a buy a, or, um, you know, like, must the modest dress.
- 1:38:41[SPEAKER_14]: They were the earrings on the outside of the clothes.
- 1:38:44[SPEAKER_14]: Like, I kind of want her to have earrings on the outside of this.
- 1:38:47[SPEAKER_14]: I, I love this.
- 1:38:49[SPEAKER_14]: Man, fine.
- 1:38:51[SPEAKER_06]: And Alicia here is heard next.
- 1:38:54[SPEAKER_06]: Okay, we're engine white on black this time.
- 1:38:57[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so we've still we've still got the little bang peak out, which I'm into.
- 1:39:02[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, and it seems like her ears are coming out a little bit more I'm like really conflicted about the silhouette of this neckline so the full neckline is the W and I just think it's not doing anything for her shape.
- 1:39:15[SPEAKER_01]: the way that it's going so deep.
- 1:39:16[SPEAKER_01]: It's like the the points of the W are like straight on the nip and then we go up and I just like I don't love it and you know it's just she yeah no it's a no it's a it's a van done.
- 1:39:28[SPEAKER_01]: I can't even describe to you so we've got this we've got that pale orange.
- 1:39:31[SPEAKER_06]: I don't know what it's called when like the material comes all the way up to the chin and it's just like very face forward.
- 1:39:37[SPEAKER_06]: There's something about that that I think is gorgeous but yes I agree with you.
- 1:39:41[SPEAKER_14]: So yeah, it's very straightforward, but I also hate, it was like, what Halloween party are we going to?
- 1:39:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's very Halloween.
- 1:39:48[SPEAKER_06]: Manny.
- 1:39:49[SPEAKER_14]: Okay, so this is a costume that I think is like one of the first that I ever saw waspin when I was like introduced to comics, like this is very like in my brain iconic wasp.
- 1:40:00[SPEAKER_14]: I love the icy blue with white, that's one of my favorite color combinations, like just in general in life.
- 1:40:08[SPEAKER_14]: I love the simple W at the waistline like with the magenta costume which is so like another another thing that I really like about Janet is when something when something like she's very fashiony where it's like okay this I like to this part now I'm going to change this on the same silhouette and so it's like I like that because it's like this is so moss like because like that collar is still moss the gloves are still moss the boots are so moss but she's like just kind of
- 1:40:38[SPEAKER_14]: more of like the modern of what you know when this was published.
- 1:40:42[SPEAKER_14]: I like this.
- 1:40:44[SPEAKER_14]: I also think I have to think this is when she's fighting Scarlet Witch with Scarlet Witch goes crazy and wears that terrible costume during the acts of vengeance.
- 1:40:52[SPEAKER_14]: I think I think that's what this is.
- 1:40:54[SPEAKER_14]: But I love it.
- 1:40:55[SPEAKER_14]: I think it's I think it's great.
- 1:40:56[SPEAKER_06]: I like this one a lot too.
- 1:40:58[SPEAKER_06]: Then fine.
- 1:40:59[SPEAKER_06]: And Alicia.
- 1:41:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, and I have this one.
- 1:41:02[SPEAKER_01]: This is giving like this is giving Excalibur Kitty Pride meets the classic wasp look combined together.
- 1:41:10[SPEAKER_01]: We've got that like the the blue, the darker blue on top with the lighter blue is like the heights or leggings color.
- 1:41:17[SPEAKER_01]: We've got those angular gloves that open up, but this neck.
- 1:41:21[SPEAKER_01]: this collar going up with that deep v and then those the way those pointed shoulders go up and the fact that she does not have a body suit underneath this one it's like a top and pants and we're actually getting to see her arms and some more exposed she's sexy in this one she's hot this is hot those boots okay i'm all for those boots they come and up on the points on the side this is yeah this might be my favorite one yeah this is van fine baby my
- 1:41:46[SPEAKER_14]: Only question is, do we think that this is the tunic where like the point ends like just below her navel or do we think it's like the 90s where it's going to be like French cut all the way through and a thong in the back.
- 1:41:58[SPEAKER_06]: We will not touch a Kim basing or uncrosses or legs basic instinct style.
- 1:42:03[SPEAKER_01]: I hope that it is like a thong in the back.
- 1:42:05[SPEAKER_01]: I hope that that is a thin, I want it to be thin.
- 1:42:08[SPEAKER_01]: Either that or I want it to be like a corset where like it's just just a point in the front and across the straight across the back and it just looks like a nice top.
- 1:42:17[SPEAKER_06]: Okay, Mandy, here is our next look.
- 1:42:20[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, okay.
- 1:42:21[SPEAKER_06]: So this is what the one I love when your eyes go saucer, you're like,
- 1:42:27[SPEAKER_01]: I thought I would just like, oh, this is the BDSM version of the law.
- 1:42:31[SPEAKER_14]: So it is, but this is also what that cartoon version is based off of.
- 1:42:35[SPEAKER_14]: There is like a word recent cartoon.
- 1:42:37[SPEAKER_14]: I'm trying to, I think it's called Avengers Assemble, which is, uh, what, after the MCU kind of started this, this was like the earphones that she wore in her first costume is what that cartoon wears.
- 1:42:50[SPEAKER_14]: It's a more covered version of this costume, but it's interesting that like whoever designed
- 1:42:57[SPEAKER_14]: Like that's that's kind of telling to me, but that's neither here nor there.
- 1:43:02[SPEAKER_14]: I love this costume So we got a yellow and black swimsuit almost bikini with like the W cut out over the boot It's very it's very siloq, but she has Jesus the W cut out over her chest But she has the boob window underneath that way.
- 1:43:18[SPEAKER_14]: It's like under boob Madeline prior underneath so she
- 1:43:23[SPEAKER_14]: He has everything like I am a full woman and we're gonna all appreciate the fact that I am wearing this swimsuit.
- 1:43:30[SPEAKER_14]: I also love that it's like a swimsuit with the like full like dishwasher gloves, but a full like thigh high, like truth thigh high almost up to the crotch boot.
- 1:43:42[SPEAKER_14]: Yeah, I do love it.
- 1:43:43[SPEAKER_14]: It's a little too sexy.
- 1:43:45[SPEAKER_14]: It's a little too sexy for like for like super heroine.
- 1:43:49[SPEAKER_06]: This is the one just in most wants to see Alicia and I think.
- 1:43:53[SPEAKER_01]: Look at what happened.
- 1:43:55[SPEAKER_01]: This one though, Demanda, definitely you can tell by the cut of that, the high going up high on the hip.
- 1:44:01[SPEAKER_01]: This is definitely a phone.
- 1:44:03[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, there's no doubt about it.
- 1:44:05[SPEAKER_01]: That booty is out.
- 1:44:07[SPEAKER_14]: Oh, 100% this is French cut because again, she saw a silo in her new Asian body and she was like, oh, bitch, I've been here a while, but let me show you that she's like, your tips are covered.
- 1:44:19[SPEAKER_14]: I'm getting tips out.
- 1:44:20[SPEAKER_14]: This is a fan find for me.
- 1:44:21[SPEAKER_06]: Okay.
- 1:44:22[SPEAKER_06]: And Alicia, here we have her green look.
- 1:44:26[SPEAKER_06]: So there's an arrow pointing down from the breasts toward the crouch on this one.
- 1:44:30[SPEAKER_06]: There's a word bubble in front.
- 1:44:32[SPEAKER_01]: Interesting choice.
- 1:44:34[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 1:44:34[SPEAKER_01]: Like I know that and I was like really in agreement when demand was talking about like not the green because it gives tinkerbell.
- 1:44:41[SPEAKER_01]: But I go say I like this one.
- 1:44:43[SPEAKER_01]: If we remove that arrow, I'm into like these again, this high French cut body suit, these thigh high boots.
- 1:44:50[SPEAKER_01]: I really appreciate the angle of the thigh high boots.
- 1:44:53[SPEAKER_01]: How they kind of like they are go in more towards the inner thigh and out and up to a point on the outside.
- 1:44:58[SPEAKER_01]: The gloves, silhouette of the gloves matching here and this image does look like one glove might be a
- 1:45:05[SPEAKER_01]: upside down or I don't know if that kind of like a symmetry of the angle like one's pointing up towards our soldier and the other one's pointing down towards her Bicep.
- 1:45:13[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sorry her armpit.
- 1:45:14[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not sure that I love that, but I really love the neckline of this collar and the way that it kind of like tapers in and then comes back out Yeah, I I like these two greens together.
- 1:45:24[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm gonna have to say this is a van fine even though it has an arrow point
- 1:45:29[SPEAKER_14]: So here's my problem.
- 1:45:31[SPEAKER_14]: I love this costume.
- 1:45:32[SPEAKER_14]: I think it's great.
- 1:45:33[SPEAKER_14]: I love this actually brings in the collar for reference of her older costumes.
- 1:45:37[SPEAKER_14]: However, she went into Cersei's closet and she grabbed Cersei's discards and she put it on and I just and like and like that's why I don't like it because I'm just like, but this is Cersei's costume like you literally just you put a collar on Cersei's costume.
- 1:45:54[SPEAKER_14]: I love all the colors.
- 1:45:55[SPEAKER_14]: I love the color blocking.
- 1:45:56[SPEAKER_14]: I love there's the little pink of the light green on the top of the gloves and the top of the boots.
- 1:46:00[SPEAKER_14]: I love the costume.
- 1:46:02[SPEAKER_14]: I just don't like it for Jan because it's very, it's very, it's very Cersei.
- 1:46:08[SPEAKER_06]: Okay, Mandy.
- 1:46:09[SPEAKER_06]: This is the last thing you see so much.
- 1:46:12[SPEAKER_06]: Just as what came up next, this is the wasp in the crossing where, hey, we saw off.
- 1:46:17[SPEAKER_06]: It's in the third genome.
- 1:46:18[SPEAKER_06]: It goes full exoskeleton and Jan is just like, you know what I'm gonna fucking own it anyway.
- 1:46:22[SPEAKER_14]: I hate everything about this.
- 1:46:25[SPEAKER_14]: The body horror of it, the silly.
- 1:46:28[SPEAKER_14]: So like in this like 90s era, it was, there was definitely a huge push to be like, let's take these old characters that haven't had a lot of like, you know, things happen to them and let's
- 1:46:41[SPEAKER_14]: just let's mix it up.
- 1:46:43[SPEAKER_14]: Let's do crazy stuff.
- 1:46:43[SPEAKER_14]: Like this is post Superman dying.
- 1:46:46[SPEAKER_14]: Batman's broken back Wonder Woman like not being Wonder Woman anymore for a second time, by the way, that was a wild time.
- 1:46:53[SPEAKER_14]: And I hate it.
- 1:46:57[SPEAKER_06]: I just think there's fingers.
- 1:46:59[SPEAKER_14]: Ah, yeah.
- 1:46:59[SPEAKER_14]: Yeah, the super insectoid head, the only thing I do like about this look, I do like the wings, I think the wings are fun.
- 1:47:09[SPEAKER_14]: The actual body suit.
- 1:47:12[SPEAKER_14]: Is it a body suit or is this her body now?
- 1:47:13[SPEAKER_14]: Because she's an insect.
- 1:47:15[SPEAKER_14]: Is this armor now part of her body?
- 1:47:17[SPEAKER_14]: Because she's now an insect.
- 1:47:19[SPEAKER_14]: I hate it.
- 1:47:20[SPEAKER_14]: I don't like it.
- 1:47:21[SPEAKER_14]: I think
- 1:47:21[SPEAKER_14]: I think the color choices are weird for her.
- 1:47:24[SPEAKER_14]: I feel like if the genome is really making her be a wasp, these colors wouldn't be the colors that she would turn into.
- 1:47:31[SPEAKER_14]: I don't like it.
- 1:47:32[SPEAKER_14]: I do appreciate that it's still $1.50, but
- 1:47:36[SPEAKER_14]: I don't, I don't like it.
- 1:47:38[SPEAKER_06]: It's a then done for the hairline on the phone.
- 1:47:40[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, not okay for anyone to have.
- 1:47:42[SPEAKER_14]: Because also, what, then what's your head doing?
- 1:47:44[SPEAKER_14]: Like, is that your hairline?
- 1:47:46[SPEAKER_14]: Okay.
- 1:47:47[SPEAKER_14]: So I will say something that I, another thing that I do like because it, um, I really like it for Megan as well.
- 1:47:52[SPEAKER_14]: Is the eyebrows turning into antenna?
- 1:47:55[SPEAKER_14]: I do like that.
- 1:47:56[SPEAKER_14]: That's a very fun, like, fairy and fairy spelled with the A-E-R-I-E at the, like it's, it's, it's very say.
- 1:48:03[SPEAKER_14]: I do like that.
- 1:48:04[SPEAKER_14]: But otherwise, I hate it.
- 1:48:05[SPEAKER_06]: Alicia here we have a return to classic.
- 1:48:09[SPEAKER_01]: Let's get out of it.
- 1:48:10[SPEAKER_01]: She's doing the Ronald McDonald again, but this time it's to reverse.
- 1:48:13[SPEAKER_01]: We've got the bright yellow body suit with these like, I don't know red stripes the red w the red collar.
- 1:48:22[SPEAKER_01]: She her hair is giving like 90 soccer mom a little bit right now.
- 1:48:28[SPEAKER_01]: It's like close to her Bob, but a little bit.
- 1:48:31[SPEAKER_01]: to sculpted for me.
- 1:48:32[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I will say this is my favorite W placement is when she does it like this on her waist and like the sides of the W kind of wrap around and give it like a belted feel.
- 1:48:43[SPEAKER_01]: I think that like is a really nice cut on her, but
- 1:48:46[SPEAKER_01]: It's like even the way that this is drawn, it kind of looks like she's wearing a yellow body suit on top of yellow leggings.
- 1:48:53[SPEAKER_01]: Like there's an extra line seam there that just feels unnecessary and it's like one piece jump suit that I'm just not here for, this is event done for me.
- 1:49:03[SPEAKER_14]: It's it's it's giving too too many references to old things and but also trying to be current she's trying to be like hit mom.
- 1:49:10[SPEAKER_14]: She's trying to be like.
- 1:49:11[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm a good mom.
- 1:49:12[SPEAKER_06]: Yes, maybe you was most favorite a famous look.
- 1:49:16[SPEAKER_14]: So yes, I love this look.
- 1:49:18[SPEAKER_14]: I love the like the thorax stuff down the front.
- 1:49:21[SPEAKER_14]: I love the black and yellow together.
- 1:49:23[SPEAKER_14]: I do like the fact that she was like listen, the bobbest fun, but like when I'm fighting, it just gives all over.
- 1:49:29[SPEAKER_14]: I love the pixie kind.
- 1:49:31[SPEAKER_10]: Mm-hmm.
- 1:49:31[SPEAKER_14]: This is a very sleek, like, fun, Janet, look.
- 1:49:36[SPEAKER_14]: I do love this.
- 1:49:37[SPEAKER_14]: It was worth it.
- 1:49:38[SPEAKER_06]: Back with Hank at this point and, like, very matchy to his yellow jacket.
- 1:49:42[SPEAKER_06]: Uh, it's a very color coordinated again.
- 1:49:44[SPEAKER_14]: I also love, like, the super short yellow glove.
- 1:49:48[SPEAKER_14]: Because it's not what she can be like.
- 1:49:49[SPEAKER_14]: Oh, if I need to take my gloves off, it's just like a little glove off.
- 1:49:52[SPEAKER_14]: I can have, like, my hand free, which, as we all know, it's cosplay or sometimes you need to, like, get your hand out.
- 1:49:58[SPEAKER_14]: I love it.
- 1:49:58[SPEAKER_14]: It's it's simple, but like the design is interesting enough that if you were to try to add anything else to this, it would be too much.
- 1:50:07[SPEAKER_06]: It's so beautiful.
- 1:50:08[SPEAKER_06]: You almost don't notice that man behind her.
- 1:50:12[SPEAKER_14]: like she, keep those striking like you forget that she's tiny and there's a huge fucking dude behind her.
- 1:50:18[SPEAKER_06]: Okay, Alicia, here we have her uncanny Avengers look.
- 1:50:22[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, man.
- 1:50:23[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 1:50:23[SPEAKER_06]: This is when she dates havoc.
- 1:50:25[SPEAKER_01]: Well, that's a mistake enough itself.
- 1:50:27[SPEAKER_01]: So I feel like that should speak for the whole look.
- 1:50:29[SPEAKER_01]: But here's the thing.
- 1:50:30[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, we've got the similar silhouette than the fun collar, the pointy shoulders.
- 1:50:35[SPEAKER_01]: I really like the belt detail and the way that that blue black color
- 1:50:41[SPEAKER_01]: and the little like sort of armor vibe to the costume.
- 1:50:45[SPEAKER_01]: But then we have this helmet and the helmet is giving very professor Xavier on cracola and then the way that this like really bugs out her eyes and just takes away her whole beautiful face.
- 1:50:57[SPEAKER_01]: We've got the the the hood coming up over her chin.
- 1:51:01[SPEAKER_06]: We're really part of that original look and going very insectier.
- 1:51:05[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's super buggy.
- 1:51:07[SPEAKER_01]: And you know, I don't think we need that W on the chest underneath.
- 1:51:10[SPEAKER_01]: I think if that was all black, that would like continue that line a little nicer.
- 1:51:14[SPEAKER_01]: So like, yeah, there are elements of this that I like, but that helmet.
- 1:51:17[SPEAKER_01]: I can't stop looking at it.
- 1:51:18[SPEAKER_01]: It's so bad.
- 1:51:19[SPEAKER_01]: I hate it.
- 1:51:20[SPEAKER_01]: Then done.
- 1:51:21[SPEAKER_01]: I'm so aligned.
- 1:51:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, then done.
- 1:51:23[SPEAKER_14]: Mandy here is the next look fine like it's fine like when the Avengers need to go to space I get it we need to have like the fully like the full helmet we need to have you know like the potent reports or things on the dance or whatever I don't like it it doesn't it doesn't give very Janet that this to me is like what you would give like the person who becomes the
- 1:51:49[SPEAKER_14]: Do you like the invert?
- 1:51:51[SPEAKER_14]: I don't.
- 1:51:52[SPEAKER_14]: Oh, is it a skirt?
- 1:51:53[SPEAKER_14]: I thought it was like a weird, like, pussy armor.
- 1:51:55[SPEAKER_14]: That's it.
- 1:51:56[SPEAKER_06]: I think it's a skirt.
- 1:51:58[SPEAKER_14]: Oh, I think it's just bad either way.
- 1:52:02[SPEAKER_14]: I don't, I don't like it.
- 1:52:03[SPEAKER_01]: I, I, I just, then did Tony Stark design that one for her?
- 1:52:08[SPEAKER_14]: Right, like, yeah, it doesn't feel like Janet.
- 1:52:11[SPEAKER_14]: I think that's what it is.
- 1:52:12[SPEAKER_14]: It doesn't feel like Janet.
- 1:52:13[SPEAKER_06]: All right Alicia.
- 1:52:15[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 1:52:16[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 1:52:16[SPEAKER_01]: I don't hate it.
- 1:52:18[SPEAKER_01]: I still feel like it's hard because it's like, you know, as a character, you develop and you grow, but she's not giving huge.
- 1:52:25[SPEAKER_01]: She's giving powerful, but I do like the placement of and powerful is not a bad thing, but it's just it's very much more tactical than a lot of her other looks are.
- 1:52:35[SPEAKER_06]: It's giving almost like night thrasher from the new warriors weirdly.
- 1:52:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's like, and, and the boot into the, you know, in the previous look, she had those in that classic wasp look that we were talking about.
- 1:52:48[SPEAKER_01]: She had the boots that were part of the pant, but this to me, like, it just doesn't feel like her, like, you know, her wings don't feel like they're organically a part of the costume.
- 1:52:58[SPEAKER_01]: It feels too like tactical and plated.
- 1:53:01[SPEAKER_01]: It's giving a very similar vibe to the other thing.
- 1:53:03[SPEAKER_01]: It's, it's not my favorite.
- 1:53:04[SPEAKER_06]: We got a black and red almost wonder man.
- 1:53:06[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
- 1:53:08[SPEAKER_14]: Yeah.
- 1:53:08[SPEAKER_14]: Show me this image and ask me to guess who this was.
- 1:53:11[SPEAKER_14]: I would not ever have guessed Janet Van Dine.
- 1:53:14[SPEAKER_06]: Almost like widow energy.
- 1:53:16[SPEAKER_14]: Yeah.
- 1:53:17[SPEAKER_14]: For sure.
- 1:53:18[SPEAKER_14]: Like this is to me.
- 1:53:19[SPEAKER_14]: This is very generic woman who kicks people.
- 1:53:23[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like this is giving like what we would imagine the costume to look like in the MCU, which is not in line with like who we have known that looks too great.
- 1:53:32[SPEAKER_14]: So also something that really, really, really bothers me.
- 1:53:36[SPEAKER_14]: The chest armor piece.
- 1:53:38[SPEAKER_14]: Why is it asymmetrical?
- 1:53:40[SPEAKER_14]: Yes, why like like what what is this design around her chest?
- 1:53:45[SPEAKER_14]: Why is it not why is it not symmetrical because obviously that's a choice like that's a choice that was made by the artist, but it's like it doesn't match and why like why why is that not just like a triangle in the center of her chest, I don't I don't get it, but again, this gives very I'm this gives me a 90's
- 1:54:04[SPEAKER_14]: It feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it feels like it
- 1:54:26[SPEAKER_14]: Yes, also giving kitty Excalibur vibes again.
- 1:54:30[SPEAKER_14]: I was literally supposed to say it's very kitty pride with like the oversized jacket on top of body suit and leggings, things that I like.
- 1:54:38[SPEAKER_14]: I like the jacket and itself.
- 1:54:41[SPEAKER_14]: I like the W as like a monogram on the one side because I'm also a big liver and a truly fan.
- 1:54:49[SPEAKER_14]: So I love a monogram.
- 1:54:51[SPEAKER_14]: I think that's what I think the jacket itself is fun.
- 1:54:53[SPEAKER_14]: I think I don't like the web in the cleavage.
- 1:54:58[SPEAKER_14]: I feel like we could have done something else there.
- 1:55:00[SPEAKER_14]: I feel like something else could have happened there, either just a different color, like either black or just haven't opened.
- 1:55:06[SPEAKER_14]: Like let's get our tits out.
- 1:55:08[SPEAKER_14]: It's the 80s.
- 1:55:09[SPEAKER_14]: The rest of it is just kind of math.
- 1:55:11[SPEAKER_14]: Like it's just, oh, it's just a black body suit with like a white panty over it.
- 1:55:14[SPEAKER_06]: And done on this one.
- 1:55:16[SPEAKER_14]: I think it's a bandun.
- 1:55:17[SPEAKER_14]: Again, I like the jacket in itself
- 1:55:21[SPEAKER_06]: Alicia.
- 1:55:22[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 1:55:23[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like this is this is taking it back to that icy blue and like maybe some of the silhouette is changed, but I'm into this one.
- 1:55:31[SPEAKER_01]: I think the white collar on this one is a little bit smaller than the last time we had this blue and white combination in the shoulders might be a little bit bigger, but again, that's giving a really nice silhouette to her and the boots and I think she she looks cute her hairs looking good.
- 1:55:46[SPEAKER_01]: I'm into it.
- 1:55:46[SPEAKER_01]: Van fine for me.
- 1:55:47[SPEAKER_06]: Okay, and, uh, this demand, uh, here's her darkhold look.
- 1:55:52[SPEAKER_06]: This is wasp going evil.
- 1:55:54[SPEAKER_14]: I don't hate it, but I also don't like it.
- 1:55:57[SPEAKER_14]: I like, I like the hair.
- 1:55:58[SPEAKER_14]: I think her hair looks great.
- 1:56:00[SPEAKER_14]: The shoulder pads are fun, and I get she's evil now.
- 1:56:03[SPEAKER_14]: We have to do spikes.
- 1:56:04[SPEAKER_14]: The the body's in itself like it's it definitely kind of gives like the was still wet just the W across the chest she has like again your typical malice choker so it it it's it's a little too basic like oh I've gone evil I need spikes in a spiked collar but it's it's
- 1:56:23[SPEAKER_06]: five.
- 1:56:24[SPEAKER_06]: We were just to the Hellfire Club one time and it was a hit.
- 1:56:26[SPEAKER_14]: But the thing is it's not sexy enough for the Hellfire Club.
- 1:56:29[SPEAKER_14]: Like she needs to make it a thong with no leggings underneath.
- 1:56:33[SPEAKER_14]: At least to get into the Hellfire Club.
- 1:56:37[SPEAKER_14]: This is very mid for me.
- 1:56:39[SPEAKER_14]: It's like barely a fine.
- 1:56:42[SPEAKER_14]: It's barely like eight passes, but I'm not happy about it.
- 1:56:46[SPEAKER_06]: It's okay.
- 1:56:47[SPEAKER_06]: I'm so event fine.
- 1:56:49[SPEAKER_06]: And then
- 1:56:51[SPEAKER_01]: Hmm, okay, so I feel like this one is this one is next level.
- 1:56:55[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like I would like let's like a level up from the one before I would have like to keep the spiky shoulders from before with this look right like these are giving a little like cannon balls on her shoulders vibes, but
- 1:57:09[SPEAKER_01]: I love, okay, I'm a big fan of a French cut like body suit with a high thigh high boot like all about that and then we've got that mock turtleneck vibe going almost like full turtleneck with the cut out the boob window in the front and the the glove sleeve situation like I'm into it.
- 1:57:25[SPEAKER_14]: I love the glove.
- 1:57:27[SPEAKER_14]: I love the glove.
- 1:57:28[SPEAKER_14]: We're so wraps around the thumb.
- 1:57:29[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, something to me.
- 1:57:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so yeah, this is this is Yavane Foyne.
- 1:57:35[SPEAKER_06]: We have a chunky heel.
- 1:57:37[SPEAKER_06]: Okay, Monday.
- 1:57:38[SPEAKER_06]: Here is one more classic version.
- 1:57:41[SPEAKER_14]: So again, this is it's the it's the same to the left.
- 1:57:44[SPEAKER_14]: It's a classic look that she knows works for her body.
- 1:57:47[SPEAKER_14]: The color scheme.
- 1:57:48[SPEAKER_14]: Like again, I don't know if this is supposed to be purple or if it's supposed to be black, but like the coloring because you know they don't want to just make it solid black.
- 1:57:55[SPEAKER_14]: It's an interesting color combination.
- 1:57:57[SPEAKER_14]: It's, again, this to me is another like, it's passable, it's okay.
- 1:58:02[SPEAKER_14]: There's nothing special about it.
- 1:58:04[SPEAKER_14]: There's nothing interesting.
- 1:58:05[SPEAKER_14]: It does have the same kind of boot silhouette where it has that collar that she has around the thing.
- 1:58:12[SPEAKER_14]: It's, it's,
- 1:58:13[SPEAKER_14]: fine.
- 1:58:13[SPEAKER_14]: What actually, what could have like really helped is if she would have done that same black W around the waist that that she's had again me and Alicia we are we are vibing.
- 1:58:23[SPEAKER_14]: I was thinking the same thing.
- 1:58:24[SPEAKER_01]: I was like you need to break up that yellow girl.
- 1:58:26[SPEAKER_01]: Where's that W?
- 1:58:27[SPEAKER_14]: Yeah, it and like this hair it looked good on the one that Alicia just did with the the blue.
- 1:58:33[SPEAKER_14]: I'm not I'm not I don't I don't I don't I don't like to hear with this.
- 1:58:37[SPEAKER_06]: then done.
- 1:58:38[SPEAKER_14]: If again, it's possible in classes.
- 1:58:40[SPEAKER_14]: I don't have any about it.
- 1:58:41[SPEAKER_14]: But it passes.
- 1:58:42[SPEAKER_14]: It's a fine.
- 1:58:42[SPEAKER_06]: Okay.
- 1:58:42[SPEAKER_06]: We have two left.
- 1:58:44[SPEAKER_06]: Alicia.
- 1:58:44[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 1:58:45[SPEAKER_01]: This one, this just looks like she's naked.
- 1:58:48[SPEAKER_01]: And she painted a W on her boobs.
- 1:58:50[SPEAKER_01]: And then she's got like, I don't know.
- 1:58:52[SPEAKER_14]: Like, it's with a near body suit.
- 1:58:54[SPEAKER_14]: It looks like it's a sheer body suit.
- 1:58:56[SPEAKER_01]: If you have, if I can see your belly button, then it's not a body suit for me.
- 1:59:00[SPEAKER_01]: And like, it's just a little bit too much.
- 1:59:03[SPEAKER_06]: She borrowed black widows belt.
- 1:59:05[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's like are those bullets I'm confused.
- 1:59:07[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I don't I just don't like this.
- 1:59:09[SPEAKER_01]: I think that and and we're the red and black like I just blew it's I can't even put words on why I don't like it, but I just can't see my particles she used pin particles just on her boobs.
- 1:59:21[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yes.
- 1:59:22[SPEAKER_01]: Her boobs are quite large compared to them in any other moment.
- 1:59:27[SPEAKER_01]: I think their hair looks cute.
- 1:59:29[SPEAKER_06]: Yes.
- 1:59:30[SPEAKER_01]: But the rest of this look is a van done for me.
- 1:59:33[SPEAKER_06]: Last one, Mandy.
- 1:59:34[SPEAKER_14]: So I have this card.
- 1:59:36[SPEAKER_14]: I don't think I ever saw, I don't think she's ever worn this on panel.
- 1:59:40[SPEAKER_14]: I think it's literally just this card.
- 1:59:42[SPEAKER_14]: I think the goggles are fun.
- 1:59:44[SPEAKER_14]: I think the hair is fun.
- 1:59:46[SPEAKER_14]: I love the pet little peplum wings.
- 1:59:50[SPEAKER_14]: I think that's really fun, and I'm a little sad that it's like, I don't think that this is ever appeared on panel.
- 1:59:56[SPEAKER_14]: I think it's just this artist for this card series.
- 2:00:00[SPEAKER_06]: I have a chance there is a blurred hip is so odd to me.
- 2:00:03[SPEAKER_14]: It's like, it's fun.
- 2:00:04[SPEAKER_14]: To me, it makes it.
- 2:00:05[SPEAKER_14]: It makes like a little mou glare.
- 2:00:07[SPEAKER_14]: It makes it look good.
- 2:00:09[SPEAKER_14]: I love the fun design where it's taking the shoulder into the boobs with the W and then down where it's like again you have the W at the waist as well.
- 2:00:18[SPEAKER_14]: But it's not just like a basic W and because she has the hip flares, she doesn't want to cut that line around her waist.
- 2:00:27[SPEAKER_14]: But also like the boot, like comes up and there's so I don't I don't think that
- 2:00:35[SPEAKER_14]: But she still has like the black underneath the peplum.
- 2:00:39[SPEAKER_14]: I really like and again, I think the goggles are fun Where it's like, okay, we're gonna be practical.
- 2:00:43[SPEAKER_14]: We've got a fly.
- 2:00:44[SPEAKER_14]: We don't want things in my eyes I don't need my lashes flying everywhere, but it's not like a whole Head situation.
- 2:00:51[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 2:00:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I feel like if every time we were doing goggles, we were doing them like that We would be so much better off.
- 2:00:57[SPEAKER_06]: So let me ask you both a couple key questions Alicia, what are your favorite and least favorite colors on the wasp?
- 2:01:02[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, well, my least favorite color on the wasp is that yellow and red combination, like the yellow specifically, it's just two yellow.
- 2:01:10[SPEAKER_01]: It's two yellow.
- 2:01:11[SPEAKER_01]: My favorite is the red and black.
- 2:01:13[SPEAKER_01]: I really do like the red and black.
- 2:01:15[SPEAKER_01]: I think that that really gives it it pops.
- 2:01:17[SPEAKER_06]: It's a nice sleep combination and that's my faith.
- 2:01:29[SPEAKER_14]: So I think some signature designs like design elements for was I think pointed shoulders is is one I that we we continually reference those I think that interesting color piece that again, like references like an insect armor.
- 2:01:45[SPEAKER_14]: and mirroring that on gloves and boots.
- 2:01:48[SPEAKER_14]: I think it's very iconic.
- 2:01:49[SPEAKER_14]: We saw that several times.
- 2:01:51[SPEAKER_14]: And I think the W that turns into like the belt around.
- 2:01:55[SPEAKER_14]: And I also agree with Alicia, even though again, I, again, silver with Alicia, the yellow and red.
- 2:02:00[SPEAKER_14]: But when it's like thicker and it's more color-blocky.
- 2:02:03[SPEAKER_14]: So also as a huge chain of like Alan Davis, color-blocked costumes from like the, like the late 80s or late 90s.
- 2:02:09[SPEAKER_14]: I really I really liked I liked the design of that costume.
- 2:02:13[SPEAKER_14]: I did not like the colors of that costume because I think that costume in particular it hit all of those elements it had the color it had the gloves it had the boots it just was not the right colors and so I think like if she has like those elements I think that and also I like the the flippy bob I think and so if she's not going to go pixie I need a flippy bob.
- 2:02:36[SPEAKER_06]: It's crazy to me how she goes full lingerie once in a while.
- 2:02:39[SPEAKER_01]: Alicia was there one look today that you were like, oh, I mean, I, I wasn't expecting the, the one with the underbube cut out.
- 2:02:47[SPEAKER_01]: I think I just wasn't expecting that from her.
- 2:02:50[SPEAKER_01]: And oh, and that's also the cut outs all the way down the leg.
- 2:02:53[SPEAKER_14]: The lavender one.
- 2:02:54[SPEAKER_01]: The lavender one.
- 2:02:56[SPEAKER_01]: I think both of those like caught me by surprise, but like in the best way just in this like she gives very like whole some vibes and then that felt like a little rebellious and I was I was into that and many my last question is there one look from this line that makes you a little bit angry, but also you kind of want to cause play it still.
- 2:03:13[SPEAKER_14]: Uh, a little bit angry, but still want to cosplay it.
- 2:03:16[SPEAKER_14]: So like I'm never going to do like in sexual aid loss.
- 2:03:18[SPEAKER_14]: That's that's not that's not happening.
- 2:03:20[SPEAKER_06]: That's that one with like the the balaclava and like the flippy bang.
- 2:03:24[SPEAKER_14]: Oh no, because I really liked that the magenta.
- 2:03:27[SPEAKER_06]: But I'm saying yes.
- 2:03:28[SPEAKER_14]: Yeah, like I did really like that like that didn't make me angry at all.
- 2:03:31[SPEAKER_14]: I'm trying to think of any, any of the ones that like made me angry.
- 2:03:35[SPEAKER_14]: I don't think I would wear it.
- 2:03:36[SPEAKER_14]: Like the Cir, the Cir C1, I'm like, no, that makes me mad.
- 2:03:39[SPEAKER_14]: The, the molecule man one, that makes me mad.
- 2:03:41[SPEAKER_14]: Like I, I think I would do the, the, that magenta, with the, but the, I keep wanting to say buckle up on now and that's not at all the same thing.
- 2:03:50[SPEAKER_14]: But yeah, that,
- 2:03:51[SPEAKER_14]: There isn't one that made me mad that I would still want to wear.
- 2:03:54[SPEAKER_14]: Like, there are definitely ones that are like stupid.
- 2:03:57[SPEAKER_14]: Again, like the one that I'm currently wearing, that I'm like, oh, yeah, I want that on my body because it's stupid.
- 2:04:03[SPEAKER_14]: If I do another wasp look, I would probably gear more classic.
- 2:04:06[SPEAKER_14]: And I'd probably do like one of the, either the red and black ones.
- 2:04:10[SPEAKER_14]: It's like the one with like the country boots that we were talking about.
- 2:04:12[SPEAKER_14]: We're again, it has the elements of like the shoulder pad.
- 2:04:15[SPEAKER_14]: It has the yellow collar, but it has like the little skirt.
- 2:04:18[SPEAKER_14]: I think that's the best one.
- 2:04:19[SPEAKER_06]: One of my favorite things about this character that we're looking into the fashion.
- 2:04:22[SPEAKER_06]: It's very rare she turns into a giant.
- 2:04:24[SPEAKER_06]: She is normally two inches tall and she is designing herself full fashion anyway.
- 2:04:30[SPEAKER_06]: She stands out, she's constantly reinventing, she's constantly getting attention, she's constantly staying at the front of the fashion forward line.
- 2:04:37[SPEAKER_06]: And however she's written, we always get these kind of fashion shocking moments.
- 2:04:41[SPEAKER_06]: I adore her.
- 2:04:42[SPEAKER_06]: When we get to the trial of Janet Bandai at the end of the month, we won't do this level of detail into her fashion, but it certainly informs the character.
- 2:04:50[SPEAKER_06]: And I at least for the three of us, we leave with a very clear understanding of this character's kind of detailed history.
- 2:04:55[SPEAKER_06]: We could take this journey for Stormer, Kitty, Priter, Gene Gray, and go, okay, we've got some growth over time here.
- 2:05:00[SPEAKER_06]: Let's look at the classics and return to classics, but we have no green mini dress over and over again.
- 2:05:05[SPEAKER_06]: So that's good at least.
- 2:05:07[SPEAKER_06]: Do we have any final thoughts on the fashion forward lines of Janet Bandai?
- 2:05:11[SPEAKER_14]: I think it's interesting because fascist is cyclical and so like every so often she'll return to a classic but then she needs to remind people that she's not 80 years old and she's like oh no like I'm still going to pull my tits out like I'm still hot.
- 2:05:27[SPEAKER_14]: Because again, if we're like being quote unquote canonical with sliding time skills, she's really only in like her early early to mid 30s because she's around the same age as like Jean and Scott and again, according to Tom, they're in the early 30s, even though they've been around for a while.
- 2:05:43[SPEAKER_14]: That's fine, but anyway, she's still gonna be like, no, no, no, I'm so super hero and I'm hot So I'm gonna like be hot, but then she's like, but now I need to like return to like something that's classic or like again In the that the yellow with the red accents that we keep referring back to that was like a return to Classic Avengers, so she's like, oh, I need to return to a classic wasp looks So let me bring back the classic elements to remind people who the fuck I am
- 2:06:12[SPEAKER_14]: Okay, and that's what I love about her.
- 2:06:14[SPEAKER_01]: I would say this.
- 2:06:15[SPEAKER_01]: There were lots of moments where we were like, ooh, maybe not, but I applaud her for making bold choices.
- 2:06:22[SPEAKER_01]: Like, she's not afraid to just try something and be like this, you know, earlier I was talking about like if something makes you happy, just wear it and who cares.
- 2:06:30[SPEAKER_01]: I think that she's really showing that idea of just like, I'm just trying something.
- 2:06:35[SPEAKER_01]: This is how I'm feeling right now.
- 2:06:37[SPEAKER_01]: This is the vibe I'm going for.
- 2:06:38[SPEAKER_01]: I'm expressing my emotions through my clothing.
- 2:06:41[SPEAKER_01]: She's not afraid to try something new.
- 2:06:43[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that that's inspiring.
- 2:06:45[SPEAKER_06]: Well, my friends, I love you both.
- 2:06:47[SPEAKER_06]: You're both a vana, Jenna Van, fine.
