- PropJosh: Yeah. So you have been watching some trailers, you said? Shellyta: Yeah. So do I need to introduce myself or okay. gotcha. Yeah, so the trailers. So PropJosh: No, no, not yet. We will. You don't have to yet. Shellyta: when I was actually in theaters, because I don't usually go to like the movie movies a lot, but I was excited to see that there's a bunch of like spooky movies coming out, or I guess recently came out. Like they're they're supposed to be coming out, I think, in like this month. PropJosh: yeah? Shellyta: like the there's one about Spiders. I can't remember the name of it, but it's like a spider infestation. PropJosh: yeah. Shellyta: I think it's in a hotel. Did you see that? PropJosh: Yeah, I saw I saw a trailer of that real quick 'cause it reminded me of arachnophobia real qu yeah. Shellyta: Yeah. And I hadn't seen movies like that a long time because when I was little, I loved movies like with bug infestations, the killer bees. Did you ever watch the killer bee movies? goodness, it was about PropJosh: Mm mm, no. Shellyta: like the killer bee craze that was happening in, I guess, Texas, the African killer bees, and how they would go and infiltrate a hive and take over and then become the Killer bees. And so PropJosh: wow. Shellyta: in this town, there's a bunch of them. And then they're building a hive, I think, in this barn or this house. but that's kind of like with this new spider movie, like arachnophobia, kind of like where you have an excessive amount of these bugs. I need a movie like this with roaches. Where someone's like, PropJosh: wow. I saw man. Shellyta: why your house got so many roaches? I keep stepping on them. my gosh, there's more. PropJosh: yeah. Shellyta: you pull up a floor more. burn down the whole house, but it's the whole what if it's like a big a hotel or an apartment complex and you're like, how do you you get everyone out? PropJosh: Right, yeah. That'd be crazy. that would get everybody. yeah. I saw this movie Bats. They had a bunch of bats. It was weird. I don't know if you ever saw that one. And they had like Shellyta: Mm. Mm mm. PropJosh: they had like puppet like bats and stuff. It was bats with like bigger and stuff. It was a real silly, stupid movie. I think it came out in like ninety nine or two thousand. So Shellyta: okay. Y that's like kinda like critters and things like that, where there's like PropJosh: Yeah, yeah, kinda like that. Yeah. Shellyta: those big puppety type things and you're like PropJosh: Yeah, yeah, 'cause anytime they caught one of the bats it was all puppet looking and stuff. It w I like crazy movies like that. Shellyta: See, I do too. I do too. But I will say, some of them just just scared me a little bit too much. like Willy Wonka. The Umpa Loompas scared me. PropJosh: Ha ha ha. Shellyta: Like as a child, they scared me. They were singing about the destruction and disappearance and death of these little kids. And I was just like, my God. PropJosh: Well, Willie Walker threw me off when I was a kid 'cause like I thought it was just this happy kids movie until they did start killing people. Supposedly Shellyta: I was like PropJosh: killing people, whatever. Shellyta: How is this man allowed to be within yards of children? I just I I don't know. PropJosh: Did you did you hear about or see the new Willy Wonka show? It's like a game show on Netflix. Really? Shellyta: Mm mm. No. PropJosh: Yeah, I haven't watched it yet, but a couple people told me about it and said it's pretty good. Where they actually have Gene Wilder's voice. His estate Shellyta: that's cool. PropJosh: gave permission for him. t to use his voice, his AI, AI sounding voice Shellyta: Yeah. PropJosh: or whatever, but it sounds like him and he's like announcing the different games or something they gotta play. And Shellyta: Yeah. PropJosh: they and so like I heard it's good. Like I saw the trailer for it. yeah, apparently one of the Umpa Loompas is in it. Like from the original movie is Shellyta: wow. PropJosh: is in it. So I was like, all right, I'm gonna I'm gonna give it a try. But it's it's like a reality game show type thing on Netflix. Shellyta: See, me and Netflix are beefing right now. And I think it's just because they keep making their prices go up. And I'm like, why are the why is this so expensive? PropJosh: man, tell me about it. Shellyta: And then I'm like, you know what? I guess I will have commercials. And they're like, well, the quality's gonna be bad. And I'm like, why would you do this? I'm paying for it. PropJosh: I know, right? I know. Every time I get that Netflix bill every week, every month, yeah, I'm like. It does. Shellyta: It feels like it's every week. It's so expensive. PropJosh: And I and funny thing about it, I watch YouTube and Tubi more and they're free. Shellyta: that's what it basically is at this point. I I've been just having to watch other things because these streaming services are getting too expensive. And it's not like you could just bite the bullet and go with cable because cable doesn't have what you're trying to watch. Like, PropJosh: Mm-hmm. Shellyta: so it's just frustrating. But another new movie that's coming out, the other mommy. PropJosh: Yeah, yeah. I do want to see yeah, I do Shellyta: I kinda wanna see that too. PropJosh: want to see that. They missed an opportunity to name that movie differently though. The other mother. Well, Shellyta: What would you have named it? PropJosh: it's right there. That's my biggest frustration Shellyta: Kidney. PropJosh: with that movie. Every time I see the trailer, it says the other Shellyta: That would have been PropJosh: mommy. I says the other mother. You could just say other mothers right there, but Shellyta: That would have been better PropJosh: But I do want to see it. It looks good. It looks creepy. It it's it's yeah, I'm I'm looking forward to it. Shellyta: than it's kind of like given cause I'm not sure if it's one of those, like an entity or a split personality kind of situation, but there was a movie that I watched a long time ago called Hide and Seek. PropJosh: yeah, yeah. I've seen that. Yeah, I think there was Robert De Niro at Dakota Fanning, maybe. Shellyta: was it Robert De Niro? Who was in that movie? That one was really good. Cause it that's the vibe that other mommy is kind of giving me almost is the hide and seek vibe. PropJosh: Mm. Yeah. Shellyta: not to spoil a 2025, I mean a twenty five movie or two thousand five movie. Yeah, twenty five. PropJosh: Two thousand five. Yeah. Shellyta: but you know, just cause it was like my imaginary friend, but he ain't there anytime the dad is there. PropJosh: Right, right, yeah. It's an old one. See, speaking of horror movies, what we talking about this time? I forgot to tell you that's our intro. And he's Yep, we're talking Shellyta: Mm buddy PropJosh: about Buddy. let me introduce us ourselves. My name is Josh, aka Prop Josh. And I am joined by second time special guest, Shalita, aka what's your what's your aka name? It's like simply sim simple plush toy. Plush. Shellyta: it's plus yeah, simple plush toy or plush. Mm-hmm. PropJosh: Yes. She was on so like if you guys watch any of my videos, any of my animations, you will hear Shalita's voice on my stuff. She's she's Shellyta: Yeah. It's hard to hide my voice. PropJosh: She's popped up on a lot of my stuff. before we started, we were talking about Scooby-Doo. So you would hear her as like Velma. She'll do the voice of Velma on my Scooby-Doo videos. And the the videos that people love a lot that Shellyta: Yeah. PropJosh: people keep I keep getting requested for is Zootopia. Shellyta: Yeah. nice. PropJosh: So she'll play Judy Hops. Shellyta: Yeah. PropJosh: People I keep getting like that's that's probably my most viewed video. This year earlier this year was the Zootopia I did. And yeah, it got a lot Shellyta: That's that's amazing. PropJosh: of views and and I still get messages like, Do another Shellyta: Okay. PropJosh: Zootopia. So you'll hear her on that one and just a bunch of other stuff. I'm gonna put you on the spot. What what who's your favorite character you like to do for me? Shellyta: my favorite character probably PropJosh: Yeah. Shellyta: is it it honestly is Velma. I love doing PropJosh: Velma. Shellyta: Velma, but I mean, like Bradley is fun, but he's he's just PropJosh: Ha ha ha. Shellyta: because I've gotten to do the whole like progression of him going through puberty from being PropJosh: Ha ha ha. Shellyta: just the little kid to I have a girlfriend, you know, just like PropJosh: Well, I gotta tell you, I'm bringing Bradley back and he's gonna be even older. He's gonna be in college. Shellyta: my gosh, is he gonna have a awkward mustache? PropJosh: He should. That's not a bad idea. He's you should have him like his voice like kind of squeaks every now and then, like you know, his voice changing. Shellyta: it's like shave it off, Bradley. No, I gotta I got the let people know that I can drink now. And it's like take shave it off. You know, it's just yeah, I I like to throw in random inflections. It's like when Naruto got older and it was just like the voice actress like trying to age him just a little bit, but still keep that. Husky Naruto sound. PropJosh: Right, right. All right. So yeah, we're talking about buddy. So as we get into this review of it, what are your so what are your thoughts on well real quick, have you seen that adult swim video, Too Many Cooks? Shellyta: Actually, no. like, but a lot of comics had brought it up to me when I mentioned that I saw Buddy. And I was like, so it's now on my like to watch list. But PropJosh: yeah, yeah. It's it's crazy. Shellyta: but I do, I like horror comedies. but honestly, what got me to watch Buddy was that I was just scrolling on Facebook the reels. And someone was doing a review and they said, I don't know how to put this movie in words, except that you need to watch it. And I was like, So then I watched the trailer and I was like, Well, this trailer really doesn't tell me much of anything, but I guess we're PropJosh: Ha ha. Shellyta: gonna go watch. PropJosh: Right. I just had all I heard was this is basically doing Barney the Dinosaur and he he and it's a horror movie of Barney Shellyta: Yeah. PropJosh: the Dinosaur. And I was like, Well, gotta watch it. That's all it took for me. And so I thought it was streaming, so I immediately tried to find it on streaming and couldn't find it. And then I saw it was at the theater and I said, I'm watching this shit Immediately. Shellyta: Yeah. a hundred percent. PropJosh: And so I end up I did end up watching it twice at the theater. Shellyta: Mm. I only saw it once. I wanted PropJosh: So yeah, and it's rare when I do that. Shellyta: to go I wanted to go back and watch it again though. Like I could easily have watched it again. I just didn't have time. PropJosh: yeah, it's it's yeah. So but yeah, thoughts on horror comedies. Do you have any favorite ho horror comedies? Shellyta: Mars Attack, I guess, is one of my favorites. with the aliens and stuff. PropJosh: Right, yeah. Shellyta: let me see. Other ones, I guess Men and Black's not a c horror movie per se, but there were like funny moments and there was death. let me think. What was another horror comedy that I was just like, man, my mind is going blank. I don't. PropJosh: yeah, no. I'm kinda yeah. Shellyta: Mars Attack was definitely one. Puka returns. PropJosh: That sounds familiar. Shellyta: Puka the first one was amazing. Puka Returns. I was like expecting a sequel and it was something else. It was a horror comedy about PropJosh: Ha ha ha. Shellyta: 30, 40 something year olds dealing with internet crazes and how they can't navigate. It was like one of those movies that was so bad it transitioned into being good. let me see. There's something, there was another one that's on the tip of my tongue. PropJosh: There's one I remember I just remembered. Willie's Shellyta: Yeah. PropJosh: Wonderland. Have you ever seen that? That's with Nicolas Cage. Shellyta: Mm. PropJosh: It's so it was done before Five Nights with Freddy's came out. And it's like he stops into a Nicholas Cage, he stops at to a a a town and they kind of did a speed trap on him so they kinda force him to clean up this old children's theme pizza parlor place. And and of course the animatronics are alive and they try to kill him, but he Shellyta: Yeah. PropJosh: kills them one by one. He kills the animatronics on his own because he's a real badass. And but Nicholas Cage does not speak through the entire movie at all. He says no dialogue at all. Yeah, it's hilarious. Yeah, it's it's Shellyta: wow. I gotta see that. I okay. PropJosh: real funny. Shellyta: I didn't realize so apparently arachnophobia is considered a comedy horror film. PropJosh: Yeah, yeah, it is. 'Cause I remember John Goodman's part, he's like this exterminator and is supposed to be comedic. Shellyta: I love the scary movie series. The PropJosh: yeah? Shellyta: yeah, I love those. I thought that those were great. Sean of the Dead. PropJosh: yeah, yeah, Sean of the Dead. Shellyta: any of those like piranhas like any of those with the like the monster fish or something PropJosh: Ha ha ha. Shellyta: it's just like but I feel like there was another one yeah critters critters is PropJosh: yeah, yeah, critters. Shellyta: funny PropJosh: There's this movie I want to rewatch. I need to write this down. Cause like we're in the midst of our horror movie binge. We do like horror Shellyta: Mm. PropJosh: movies, a bunch of horror movies every year, for for the podcast. And one I just remembered is by Peter Jackson. I think it's called Dead or Alive. I hadn't watched this since I was a kid, but that's a horror comedy. I remember watching it as a kid, and it was hilarious. I'm gonna have to write that down. Dead or alive. Shellyta: Did you watch the new anaconda movie with Jai Black in it? PropJosh: Yeah, I did. Shellyta: What are thoughts on that? PropJosh: You know what? I actually liked it. It's it's cheesy and stupid, but I enjoyed Shellyta: It w it PropJosh: it. But I heard it was real bad, so I waited till it was streaming before I watched it. And when I watched it I was like Shellyta: Yeah, I watch it streaming. PropJosh: I was like, it's not bad. I like it, but you know, I I can tolerate a lot. Shellyta: Know how to feel because the whole time I was like, I know it's supposed to be cheesy, but it was like it was like so cheesy it felt greasy. Like I was just like, PropJosh: Ha ha ha. Shellyta: what if I watch it? Like I watched the whole movie, but the whole time I was like, What is happening? What is going on? Who wrote this? Who wrote this PropJosh: Right. Shellyta: and how much did they get paid? How do I get that job? PropJosh: Right, right. Shellyta: It better not have been no AI program. You should be ashamed of themselves. PropJosh: Scooby-Doo's a horror comedy. Shellyta: Yeah. Technically, yeah. That is there's like a bunch of them. I'm just looking at this list right now to see if there's any that I recognize. PropJosh: yeah, James Gunn actually did a horror comedy. Other well he he wrote the first Scooby-Doo movie. He also did Slither. You ever heard of Slither? It's like this alien bugs come from outer space and start infecting people. Shellyta: Okay. I like things like that. PropJosh: Yeah, so it's yeah, it's called Slither. I haven't watched it in like ten years, but I remember it being pretty funny. Shellyta: I will say that when I went into watching Buddy, I wasn't sure if like it was just a regular horror movie. So I felt bad for laughing so loud at parts. And I PropJosh: Ha ha. Shellyta: was just like, man, am I being that black person right now? PropJosh: So the funny thing about Buddy, did you hear I know you had to hear about this, that there was a lot of parents that were getting upset because they seriously thought really? Shellyta: There were kids behind me. Yeah. I'm just like, they must have saw rated R and thought it was like Charlotte Swebb saying Radiant. PropJosh: Goodness. Shellyta: Rumbunctious good time. PropJosh: I used to work at a movie theater and there was plenty of times where we have parents coming and refund tickets getting so upset for certain movies that because they didn't do their research. Like I worked at the theater when Ted came out and people thought it was just a Teddy Bear movie, and it's like, no, this is a definitely a rated R movie. Yes, it was definitely rated R. But they Shellyta: What was Ted rated? Wasn't it R? So I'm like, how is it? I don't even think it's about doing research. if the movie is rated R, then then it's like, why are you buying the ticket? Like, I don't even PropJosh: That's all you Right, right. Shellyta: have to be like, well, maybe it's just for funds and giggles. No. Like if something's rated R, then it's rated R. PropJosh: Exactly. But some people don't they don't even look at the art, they just see the poster. Even though on the poster Ted he's like literally holding a bong, but they just I don't know what they're thinking it is. Shellyta: They didn't know what a bong was. These were the good people who don't do clutch my pearls. How dare you assume? But PropJosh: Ha ha Shellyta: I think that it's like in 2026 with the age of accountability and nobody wanting to take ownership of their own misdoings. I think that at theaters, I guess someone needs to be like, you know, like when you're about to sign up for something and then the button asks you just to confirm, are you sure? Someone should PropJosh: Right. Shellyta: just be like, Hey, just so this movie is rated R. I just want to make sure that you're you wanna proceed. Do you wanna proceed with this purchase? It's rated R. PropJosh: Right, right. It they should, yeah, 'cause it's real easy to buy tickets online. So yeah, they Shellyta: Yeah. Mm-hmm. Do you want to proceed? Or even in person. It's like, do you want to proceed? This movie is rated R, just as a heads up. PropJosh: Yeah, I used to warn people when I worked at the theater. I'd be like, hey, this is rated R and you you're bringing your kids. 'Cause I remember Shellyta: Mm-hmm. PropJosh: Sausage Party. I I worked at the theater when Sausage Party was at the theater. And 'cause it's you know, it's a cartoon, but it's very rated R. Shellyta: I didn't realize that a sausage party was about Jeanitalia. I thought that the sausages were just having a fiesta. PropJosh: Yeah, that movie was pretty bad as far as like as far as like you cannot bring your children to this. Shellyta: I wanted my children to go to the sausage party, ma'am. PropJosh: There's a literal orgy scene at the end of the movie. Shellyta: I believe it. If there wasn't an orgy, I would have wanted my money back under false advertising. PropJosh: Ha ha ha. Shellyta: nah, I just think that like we shouldn't be a rewarding ignorance. Like, I PropJosh: of course, of course. Shellyta: think that like if you purchase a rated R ticket, then you can't ask for your money back because you were being dumb. Like, PropJosh: Right. Shellyta: nah. That's like saying, Well, I saw the red balloon and I thought it was gonna be a good Happy wholesome clown movie. PropJosh: I would love to see that somebody come out of it and be like, wait a minute, it's not a happy clown movie. Shellyta: Welcome to Dairy. It said welcome. I thought it was going to be inviting. PropJosh: All right, so let's jump into this movie. so spoilers, we're gonna be talking about the entire movie. Well, yeah, we're gonna be talking about the movie, so it's gonna be spoilers. We're not gonna just Shellyta: Yeah. PropJosh: talk about the highlights of it. Well, we're talking about the highlights of it, but we're gonna talk about things that's gonna probably that happens in the movie. So if you haven't seen the movie, I suggest watch it. So yeah, Beetlejuice is a horror comedy, by the way. Shellyta: yeah. I don't think PropJosh: I just remember that. Shellyta: that spoilers really but I'm also one of those people who don't mind spoilers. But I feel like that even with spoilers, you have to to watch it to really understand because there's certain parts of this movie that's really hard to put in words. PropJosh: yeah, yeah, I agree. There's some yeah, there's some reviews I'll watch and I'm like I'll watch the re I'll watch the spoiler and then this after hearing the spoilers makes me want to watch it. okay, I still want to see it for myself. So Shellyta: And be like, that spoiler didn't even give this spoiler justice. Cause it's like there's certain parts where I'm like, man, you just gotta be there. You gotta. PropJosh: yeah, yeah. Yes. All right, so let's jump into it. All right, so the Shellyta: Is Nope considered a comedy horror? PropJosh: I Shellyta: Or did I just think it was funny 'cause I was inappropriate? PropJosh: I I don't know. Not really. I don't think it's considered a horror comedy, but it definitely has funny parts. Ha ha ha. Shellyta: it's considered sci-fi horror. PropJosh: Yeah, I don't think it's a heart. Shellyta: the film has lightened the tension with humorous interactions. I don't know. I thought it was kind of funny and some I I thought it was like dark humor. That's how I kind of saw it. PropJosh: Yeah, well yeah, I think some of it is. So Buddy starts off and this was really and I bust out laughing as soon as it came on, as a like a regular kids TV program that Shellyta: Yeah. PropJosh: you would see on PBS. It just straight up comes on. It has an intro and everything. It's Shellyta: I was confused. I thought I was in the wrong movie. It was like, I guess the kids behind me were like, mom see, you did good taking us to this rated R film. Yeah, it it it'll get ya. I was like, it had me in the first half. PropJosh: I got the joke immediately. I got the joke. I got the joke immediately because I was like, what's going on? I just started laughing. I said, why why is this a regular kids program? And it was Shellyta: Yeah. PropJosh: it was done just like Barney. Of course I watched Barney a little bit when I was little. Yeah, I ain't gonna lie. Shellyta: Little bit. I watched it a lot to the point where I had suggested watching Barney in kindergarten and all the kids called me a baby. And I was like, What? We're the age of the kids. these PropJosh: In kindergarten? Shellyta: are our peers. Why are you hating? Barney was my shit growing up. PropJosh: Right. Yeah, I did I did watch a lot of Barney when I was little. Yeah, Shellyta: See how you went from some to a lot? PropJosh: because I did some parodies of it. I I did a so I have to send you a link. So watching Buddy, I felt like they copied me. I did this plot line myself. Shellyta: Mm-hmm. PropJosh: But not the horror part, but everything else. Shellyta: Yeah. PropJosh: I I did a show, a web series called Josh's Journal, and where it was about my character. It was it was basically a fictionalization of me as a teenager. And there was an episode where my character had to go on the Barney show. I forgot what the character I called. It wasn't Barney, it was he was like a alligator or something like that. Shellyta: Mm. PropJosh: And it was done just like the way they did Buddy. It was like my character was stuck on the Sh Barney show. So I have to send you the link to it. It's it's Shellyta: that's great. PropJosh: cause it it had the same type of thing where everything was alive, like Pee Wee's Playhouse type of thing. So I did the same Shellyta: Yeah. PropJosh: thing where everything was like the clock was alive and all this all these things were just alive talking and stuff. It was and he was and the the character was actually a perv, the the Barney character. Shellyta: buddy, spoiler. PropJosh: Exactly. And so So yeah, the first episode. So they show three episodes or something like that of Buddy. We're just watching it as a show. And the Shellyta: Yeah. PropJosh: show and and and the kids are acting like the kids on Barney. they're just like, hi buddy, and and he starts off like a little doll, a little plush doll. Yeah, yeah. Right, he comes Shellyta: He's yeah, he's a little stuffed animal and you say, buddy, and then he turns big. PropJosh: in, yeah, just like Barney, just like Barney. So they they did a research. I was like, this is exactly like Barney. It's so funny. Shellyta: Yeah. PropJosh: And they was talking about dancing and stuff like that, right? we should do a have a little dance party and stuff or something. And then they had this one kid named Josh and he was just reading a book and it was like, Come on, why don't you go dance w with us? He's like, I don't want to Shellyta: Yeah, Josh was like not feeling it at all. And Buddy was trying to like put words in Josh's mouth, like, I get it if you're scared. He's like, I'm not scared. I just don't want to do it. I got other things to do. He's like, come on, if you got anxiety, he's like, No. Like, Buddy was not he did not understand that no is a sentence. PropJosh: Right, right. He was really pushing for Shellyta: Because buddy is like you have to follow the plot of my fucking episode. And if you can't, PropJosh: Ha ha ha ha. Shellyta: then there's gonna be problems. Like he like basically without Josh's consent was putting these shoes on him with magic powers. PropJosh: Yeah, yeah. He summoned up some he summoned up some magic dancing shoes and and to make Josh dance it and Josh got out of him. He pulled his feet out of it, Shellyta: Yeah. PropJosh: he's like, No, I'm not doing this. So then Buddy talks to him off camera and you just hear him yelling, like, get away from me, what you doing and all that stuff. And you just see the mailbox Shellyta: Yeah. PropJosh: and the mailbox is just looking and that's all you see. And then when the When you see the next time you see Buddy and all the kids, it was like, Where's Josh? Josh went turns out Josh went Shellyta: He said he went PropJosh: to Shellyta: he went to become fame a famous dancer and he was on tour. yeah, and he left PropJosh: Right, to the yeah, to the city or whatever. Shellyta: out to what was it called? Like Emerald, it wasn't Emerald City. yeah, PropJosh: Something like that though. Yeah, it was Shellyta: it was but he went away to he was on tour and traveling and yeah, then you had like Freddie and Wade. Was that PropJosh: Yeah. Shellyta: yeah, Wade was my favorite character, hands down, whole movie. I do I have some things to say PropJosh: yeah, I got some things to say about Wade. Shellyta: about Wade. but it was like cause like PropJosh: I'll get to it though. Shellyta: cause Freddie was the one who first kind of noticed that he was ishy, like Freddie was socially awkward and weird and stuff. And the book. PropJosh: Yeah, she sees the so yeah, she sees the book in the trash and has red spilt red on it, which is blood. But Shellyta: Yeah. PropJosh: she was like, wait a minute, as the show is going off, because like, you know, they do the I love you song and stuff, and everybody hugs, and then they got the credits actually going up. I was trying to pay attention to the credits. Shellyta: The words in this sky. PropJosh: Yeah, it was funny. And and then they but they show Freddie looking into the trash can and seeing the book that Josh was reading. And it and she's like, wait a minute, why is there blood on this book? And it and it just and it goes off. And then and they keep flashing in between episodes of Buddy, they keep flashing to the sky. Shellyta: Yeah. PropJosh: And the sky would be like HD quality, and then they go back to the lower quality when the show comes Shellyta: Yeah. PropJosh: back on. And when the show comes back on for the second episode, Josh is replaced. 'Cause they have an intro Shellyta: Yeah. PropJosh: where the kids are doing different things, like they're dancing and stuff, and they're marching along with Buddy and all this stuff. So Josh was there for the first one. Now they have a different kid named Hannah. Shellyta: Is yeah, the little Hispanic girl. And PropJosh: Yeah. Shellyta: but I did love how they were swapping out the cast members and then they would just act like they've been there the whole time. But then I Yeah, where they're like, PropJosh: Yes, 'cause that's what the Barney show did. Shellyta: yeah, this is our friend. It wasn't like an introduction, everyone getting to know them. They just like they're there. Everyone already knows their name. PropJosh: Right. Yeah, right those. Shellyta: but it was wild because you could tell that Buddy has control issues because At one point, when Freddie and Wade were talking about the book and Hat Was Blood, and they would catch Buddy and lies, like obvious lies. And and that was, and PropJosh: Right, right. Shellyta: you're not supposed to lie. but one thing I did like the fact is that the little kids would sing the songs that they have in the shows to give themselves courage. Like there PropJosh: Yeah. Shellyta: was a song about being brave in the dancing episode, and PropJosh: Yeah. Shellyta: that song keeps coming up a lot. PropJosh: yeah? Shellyta: Yeah, the bravery song, Freddie sings it a lot. Anytime they're scared, they'll sing like it was the bravery song because they sing it in PropJosh: I didn't even notice that. Shellyta: the first one about dancing, because Freddy was scared to dance. and then they sing it when, you know, like later on when they're having to actually do like legitimately scary stuff. Like they'll pause PropJosh: Ha ha ha. Shellyta: and always sing the song. it comes up like four times, I think, four or five times in PropJosh: Wow, I didn't even notice that. Wow. Shellyta: the movie. I'd notice weird little things like that. it's a song. It was a be brave PropJosh: Now that I think about it, I do remember them singing yeah. Shellyta: song. It's like we're scared, be brave. You can't be you can't do PropJosh: Yeah, yeah. Shellyta: something scary. you can't be brave without being scared or something like that. but it was the fact that they were supposed to have this episode about cleaning, but PropJosh: yeah, that's right. Shellyta: But they changed the episode into about going to the nurse to get a band aid. PropJosh: Yeah, yeah, because Wade starts singing 'cause I hurt myself or something like that. He just changed Shellyta: He got a splinter. PropJosh: the whole song. Yeah, I got a splinter. Yeah, while they're in the middle of singing about cleanup. Yeah, he did not like that. He was like, Well, Shellyta: And buddy and like that. How dare you like and I get it. PropJosh: I thought we were singing about cleaning. Shellyta: Buddy's like, I spent all night writing this script. How dare you improvise on my show? My that was the vibe. Like, Buddy had control issues and was a diva. PropJosh: He did, and I love the way this movie does it because it's very slowly. Because he starts off Shellyta: Yeah, it's a slow burn. PropJosh: very Barney the dinosaur at the very first episode, and it's slowly, he's slowly getting uneasy. Yeah, yeah. Cause Shellyta: Keep losing his shit. PropJosh: it's like you you're getting more and more uncomfortable with him as the show progresses. so when he's when he's singing the Cleaning song and they chase the song, you can see that he's irritated, but he's still trying Shellyta: Mm-hmm. PropJosh: to be nice. Shellyta: I'm wondering, is this what it was like to work with Mariah Carey on American Idol? PropJosh: My bed. Shellyta: Why are we deviating from what is planned? it's like, but no, they tried to tell the nurse, like they tried telling on buddy several times, like tell an adult, but everyone kept gaslighting them. I'm like, Buddy would never. PropJosh: Yeah. Well they talked to that bunny rabbit. I forgot the bunny rabbit's name. I gotta pull that up. Shellyta: Yeah, the bunny was the one who told them that she didn't spill it. She was helped them figure out that it was a lie. Cause she's like, I didn't spill any paint. PropJosh: Yeah, because Buddy said that they spilt red paint on the book Shellyta: Yeah. PropJosh: and threw the book away and gave him a new book or whatever. So they asked him about what what paint did you use? And the rabbit was like, I didn't you we didn't use any paint. Well we didn't paint anything. What are you talking about? And they was like, Buddy lied. Shellyta: That was the first thing of like it's like when you find out that Santa Claus can lie and you're like, my god, what? PropJosh: Right. Betty Bunny. That's the name of the bunny. Which was supposed to be b baby bop. That was clearly Shellyta: yeah, Betty, she Yeah. PropJosh: supposed to be baby bop. Shellyta: yeah, 100%. And she was just there as she was an enabler of buddy's behavior the whole time. Like she's trying to be that middle PropJosh: Yeah, she completely Shellyta: ground. That's why you can't I saw I don't trust people who are like, I don't like to take sides. That's cause then you're gonna be like that bunny getting everybody killed. You're gonna PropJosh: She definitely did a good job of pretending nothing was going on. Like she Shellyta: Mm-hmm. PropJosh: just she knew what was going on. She knew that Buddy was crazy, but she pretended like it, like that wasn't the case at all. So so yeah, they tell the nurse, and the nurse was like, Well, let me talk to Buddy, which was not a good idea. Shellyta: Yeah. Cause then buddy got buddy don't like no confrontation at all, and then he fucking killed her. And then the kids, PropJosh: Right. Shellyta: yeah, and how the kids saw it and they're like through the window, and then they couldn't PropJosh: Right. Shellyta: help anybody. Was it and they tried telling their friend with the glasses, what's his name? Was it Oliver? Yeah. Fuck Oliver. Oliver, I feel like if if Oliver PropJosh: Yeah, Oliver. Yeah. Oliver was a snitch. Shellyta: Oliver was doing what he was programmed to do. And there's always that one person in your friend group who is the Oliver. Who you're like, look, we are all on the same page. We know what's going on. This is a problem. And Oliver's like, Well, I've never been affected personally by this situation. So maybe you guys are just overreacting. That's just how like how Oliver. PropJosh: Right. But before we get to that part, my one of my favorite parts was like after Buddy kills the nurse, he starts punching everything. He punches the clock. And the clock was alive. I laughed so hard Shellyta: Yeah. Yeah he did. He threw a whole tantrum. PropJosh: at that. I was like, why you hit that poor clock? Shellyta: Yeah. See, PropJosh: Yeah, yeah, a little tantrum. Shellyta: he did. I want to say, just my favorite, my just my favorite part in the first part, honestly, was just the Joshua stuff. That was just PropJosh: Mm-hmm. Shellyta: come on, dance. no, but PropJosh: Ha ha ha. Shellyta: but after because let's see, cause after they do that and they're like, we can't be waking up Buddy anymore because Oliver didn't believe them. They said, let's PropJosh: Yeah, at this point this is the third episode at this point. Shellyta: call him the B word. It was the birthday party. PropJosh: Right, right. Yeah. And they t that's when they tell Oliver and Hannah. Right, but i yeah. And they should have, but Shellyta: They shouldn't have said shit to Oliver. They should have left him. They should have left Oliver to get got. That's what I would have done. Oliver, I felt like PropJosh: Ha ha ha. Shellyta: in the whole thing, Oliver didn't really contribute much of anything, in my honest opinion. I felt like Hannah contributed more than Oliver did. Oliver PropJosh: Yeah, yeah. Shellyta: slowed everybody down, but that's that's later on. Oliver, I felt like we should have seen the red flags about Oliver PropJosh: I mean, yeah, Shellyta: From now. PropJosh: Oliver's the one that brought Buddy over. Like he he was like told on everybody and they was trying Shellyta: Yeah. PropJosh: to find a way out and and he told and that was caused the main problem of the movie or whatever. Shellyta: Yeah, because they were gonna leave. Yeah. They just said, don't summon him. Just don't summon him. They were getting on the fucking train so they could leave to go get a present for Buddy. And then Oliver PropJosh: Right. Shellyta: was like, I he promised he wouldn't be mad. Why? Why would you do this? That's like the PropJosh: Right, right. Shellyta: people were like, I thought police officers were here to help us. PropJosh: Right, right, right, yeah. Mm, mm-mm. Never. Shellyta: Why would you call them to our house? This all you always have that Oliver in your friend group, like the Oliver. Leave them. PropJosh: Side note, whenever something happened and and I think I had a somebody hit my car or something like that and then somebody I think the insurance or somebody be like, Did you call the police? And I'll be like, No. Why not? Because it's the police. Don't call them. Shellyta: I called the police one time when my car had my ran over a pallet or something in the middle of a dark road or something. I was scared and it blew out two of my tires. So I called the police because you know, for my insurance purposes and everything, officer PropJosh: Yeah. Shellyta: showed up and tried gaslighting me. He was like, he was PropJosh: of course. That's what they do. Shellyta: just like, I was driving out here, I was like, there's no pallet. And then he went boom, boom. And he's and then I ran over and I was like, And I was like, Yeah. Mm-hmm. PropJosh: Yeah, at my place where I live, like I had some really rowdy neighbors and so I had to talk to like the the apartment manager or whatever about it. 'Cause it was like some people, it was basically some druggies kind of sneaking in and living into like an abandoned place. Shellyta: Squatters. PropJosh: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Some squatters or whatever. And so the apartment manager told me to contact him whenever I saw them or contact the police. And so I contacted the police and they were, of course, harassing me on the phone. And I said, after that, I called the apartment manager. I said, You call the police from now on. I'm done with this shit. I got nothing, it got nothing to do with me. So I'm not calling them ever. Shellyta: My name is Paul and I'm not involved. Or something like that. PropJosh: Yeah, yeah. So I would be Wade instead of Oliver. Shellyta: Nah, Wade was my favorite character, but the problem was is that Wade was way too smart. I felt like if Wade, spoiler, survived, then then everything would have been solved so much faster. Freddie was not a likable main character. I just She just wasn't a likable. PropJosh: No this is Shellyta: Wade was a better main character than Freddie. PropJosh: Yeah. So all right, so yeah, we're definitely gonna get to this part. So which so they tried to leave and like of course Buddy Shellyta: Oliver ruins everything. PropJosh: yeah, yeah, Buddy he kills the train, which I died laughing. Shellyta: But before the train, that's my favorite scene, is the train scene. Because they're like, we're trying to go to Emerald City. And then he's like, and then he was like, PropJosh: yeah, that's right. Shellyta: and he's like, no, let's wait. And if they say that you need to go, then yeah, you can go. And he's like, no, we gotta go. And then it it becomes like an altercation between Wade and Buddy, and PropJosh: Yeah. Shellyta: the train does not want to get involved. But becomes collateral damage in the process. PropJosh: Right, yeah. Yeah. Shellyta: Cause Buddy rips his face off. he gets so PropJosh: Right. Shellyta: angry because Buddy's temper, he's like the type of person that just punches the hole through the wall and PropJosh: yeah, yeah. Shellyta: he just rips the face off and he openly kills the train in front of them, which obviously PropJosh: Yeah. Shellyta: shocks Oliver, because Oliver was PropJosh: Right, right. Shellyta: still believing that Buddy was pure and good and could not lie. PropJosh: Right, and it's just yeah, at this point all the kids are like, Okay, buddy is crazy, he is a killer, we need to get out of here At this point all the kids are on board now. Shellyta: Yeah. And they're trying to leave and escape. And what gets me is that the whole movie, everyone goes on about like Freddie being so kind and amazing that she helps all the things. The fact that she chose to save a fucking mailbox over her black friend. PropJosh: Man. All right. So yeah, we gotta get into detail with this. So, all right. Buddy is stabbing Wade with a knife or something like that. And and Freddy Shellyta: Yeah. PropJosh: stops it, and she's like threatens to burn Buddy. She grabs some stuff together and she's about to burn him, and he's like, No. so she does it, but Wade burns him, right? Or yeah, I think it was Wade that burns. Shellyta: Yeah. She started to, but I think that Wade was the one who really did it. Cause Wade was the one. PropJosh: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Wade actually burns him. Shellyta: Yeah, and they start running and they're trying to jump over the fence by climbing up on this trash can and everything. And PropJosh: Yeah, yeah. Shellyta: Freddie picks up Mr. Mailbox, which w I don't know why we were bringing he they they bring Mr. Mailbox everywhere that they go and he PropJosh: I don't that was man, that there was no reason. Shellyta: there's no point. Mr. Mailbox does not contribute anything. He's just dead weight. And like and it would be different. PropJosh: Right. He really is. It's like there was no reason to bring him. Shellyta: Not once is Mr. Mailbox contribute to anything productive. PropJosh: Well, there was one thing Mr. Mailbox does at the end of the movie. Shellyta: Who maybe? PropJosh: And that that helps. That's the only way Mr. Mailbox Shellyta: B beep beef. PropJosh: could when he points to something at the end of the movie. Shellyta: We PropJosh: That's the only time he could trip. So but yeah, you didn't have to bring him. You didn't have to br especially she really could have. Shellyta: She could have left him because they went back. Spoiler, she could have gotten Mr. Mailbox in Act Three. But, anyways, so they're like, she is Mr. PropJosh: Ha ha ha. Shellyta: Mailbox because Freddie strikes me as one of those, it's like, my gosh, I just, I could never harm an animal but these blacks. it's just like. PropJosh: Yeah. Yeah, so Shellyta: She put all her effort and strength in saving mister Mailbox, but when it came to helping Wade, mm mm. Let him be a shishkabob. He shish kebobbed PropJosh: Yep. Wade couldn't get couldn't help Wade and Wade gets stabbed and Wade gets killed. Probably the worst than all the other kids. Yeah. Shellyta: Buddy ate like a fucking bull. PropJosh: Right, right. And and Wade dies, and that made my daughter upset. My daughter Shellyta: He speared PropJosh: My daughter immediately did not like Freddie after that. She said, No, I I can't stand Freddie. You got you got Wade. She's 20. She was like, Shellyta: How old was your daughter? Okay. I thought you were about to say, did you bring a small child to this movie after we were talking mad shit about parents? PropJosh: No, no, my daughter's old. Yeah. No, I'm no, she's old enough to watch every Rated R movie with me. But yeah, she was like, she couldn't stand Freddie after that. Shellyta: Okay. Okay. But yeah, I couldn't stand Freddie. Freddie was making me mad. And the fact that I was so glad that Oliver and Hannah called her out because it PropJosh: Mm. Shellyta: made sense. But Freddie, I don't think she ever really took accountability. she felt sorry for herself. It was a white guilty moment. But but PropJosh: it definitely was. Shellyta: I don't think that she truly Truly felt sorry for what she I don't think she realized that Wade's life mattered more than Mr. Mailbox. PropJosh: Exactly. Shellyta: Black Lives Matter is right there. Like he mattered. PropJosh: Right. Let me save this let me save this mailbox. That that spoiler alert is an actual mailbox, not a person with a soul. Shellyta: Thing is, is that Wade was like he was the brains and he was really brave and smart. He had all those attributes that they were all he was a leader. If they had PropJosh: Yeah. Shellyta: Wade with them instead of Mr. Mailbox, the movie would have gone in a different direction. Especially when they got them homeless people later. Wade would have never let them. Mm-mm. PropJosh: It you're right. Definitely, definitely. Right. Cause like I said, right, and like I said, Wade actually caused damage to Buddy. He actually caused damage. Shellyta: Yeah. He wasn't he was scared, but he did things. PropJosh: Yeah. So yeah, Wade was the best character, but they killed him in the first act. So but yeah Shellyta: But we we also find out in this is that when Buddy is hurt, the only way he heals is by the kids hugging and singing their song. So he like tries he tries hugging Wade's dead body and was trying to make him sing PropJosh: Right, well the show starts over. When the show starts over, he does that. Yeah. Shellyta: and it didn't work. PropJosh: And right, the show wouldn't go off. So the show stays on. So that's why he needs the kids, which is crazy on Buddy's part, 'cause it's like, why are you killing these Shellyta: Don't kill them. PropJosh: kids if you need them? Shellyta: Cause that's how abusive relationships work. Abusers don't realize in the moments, man, if only I didn't act like a piece of shit, then my life would have been actually pretty decent. Man, but look PropJosh: Right. Shellyta: at me out here killing my whole family. And now the police are after me. Uh-oh. PropJosh: So now we get to Shellyta: Mm mm. PropJosh: act two, and they they show the sky again, and this time the sky what they were kept showing in between the episodes, it's the real world, and we Shellyta: Yeah. PropJosh: see this lady, she's a housewife, a mom named Grace. And we just and and it's like and sh Shellyta: Yeah. I like Grace. PropJosh: Yeah, yeah, Grace is cool. And She's like suspicious of something. something is just off. She feels like her her life is a little off. Cause like she picks up her son, her oldest son from like a birthday party and he has like a goldfish and she's like, Didn't you have a goldfish when you were younger? He's like, No, I never had a goldfish. It's like, that's that's weird. I could have swore you had that, you know. And then like when they're Shellyta: Yeah. Mm-hmm. And she knows the little thing, the deck decal on the back of her vehicle, and how the children there was like a small there's PropJosh: Right, right, and feel like there's a kid missing. Shellyta: a weird space. PropJosh: Right, right. So she's like, Something is just something's kinda off. And so like then they're all about to have dinner and she was like, Everybody come to eat. And the husband, he's like, We're all here. And she's like, okay. And then while they're eating, she looks at the empty chair at the table and just starts screaming Shellyta: Yeah. PropJosh: out of nowhere. And Shellyta: Yeah. PropJosh: so of course I figured out I was like, obviously. They have a kid missing and they don't remember their kid that's missing. Shellyta: see I didn't I didn't get that honestly at that point. I just thought that, she was just off. because it just the two and two weren't piecing together when I was watching it. PropJosh: Yeah, yeah. Well, what the chair part is what got me, because everything else Shellyta: Yeah. PropJosh: I was like, I wasn't sure what was going on. Cause I wasn't sure if she if Grace was like one of the kids that was in the show and then grew up. So I w yeah, I was so Shellyta: Yeah, that's what I was wondering. That PropJosh: I wasn't sure what was going on. But the minute she saw the chair and started screaming, I said, okay. One of the you know, one of those kids is in that's in the buddy show is her kid. I just didn't know which kid it was. My bet was that it was probably Freddie because she was the main kid that we were following. Yeah, yeah. So I thought I thought Shellyta: Mm, I thought it was Oliver. I was like, Yeah, bet it. PropJosh: it was Josh, honestly. Shellyta: Yeah, at one point I did think it might have been Josh. I thought it was I didn't think it was Freddie because I didn't really care for Freddie. Like at the time, I wasn't PropJosh: Ha ha ha ha ha. Shellyta: Freddie wasn't giving main character. I was thinking that like maybe Oliver, because she had all of those sons. And PropJosh: Right, right. Shellyta: Oliver kind of like looked a little bit more like I think the dad, even though the day both had brown hair, but and Oliver had like what, red hair? PropJosh: Yeah. Well Shellyta: He just let the odd kid out. So I figured that that was why he was a wishy-washy baby. Was, because he needed his mommy. PropJosh: Right, right. Shellyta: now my but I her husband was an asshole. like in the beginning, PropJosh: yeah, yeah, yeah. Shellyta: he tried to act understandable, but like if someone's having trauma, then you don't don't do what Ben did. PropJosh: So all right, this movie had a few tropes in it. It few horror movie tropes. that it worked, but yeah. So like one the one of the first tropes obviously a lot of people don't notice is the the white woman getting the black guy killed. That's a trope. Shellyta: yeah. No, that's why it was so triggering. And them like not and then them PropJosh: That happens in multiple movies. Shellyta: having to try to like the fact that he didn't step up on the other trash can that was still not there, not knocked over, he could have easily PropJosh: Yeah. Yeah. Shellyta: still got over. PropJosh: Yeah, he really could have. So that's a trope. Another trope is the doubt the doubting husband. No matter what's Shellyta: Okay. PropJosh: going on, there's always the husband who doesn't believe shit. He he Shellyta: Yeah. PropJosh: can have a ghost in front of his face and still be like, It's just a projection. It's it's AI. Like they always have the husband that that's doesn't believe. Like the wife will always believe something's off, something's not right, you know. This is a haunted house or whatever or but the husband never believes it. So and her husband Ben was the worst about that. He didn't believe shit. So Grace gets a psychic to come to the house. Shellyta: The psychic was one of my favorites. Like, she is great. PropJosh: Ha ha ha. Shellyta: Cause she was legitimately figuring out everything. Like, if they had let PropJosh: yeah, yeah. Shellyta: the psychic stay about 15 more minutes, then I felt like everything would have been understood. But PropJosh: yeah, yeah, yeah. Shellyta: this triggered the husband so much. Control issues, I feel like was a theme. PropJosh: Yeah, he just would not he he was not yeah, he was not a good husband because he could at least be like, okay, b babe, you know, if you you know I let I believe you, you know, whatever. We'll see what's going on for you. But he wasn't like that at all. He was just like, like you're crazy, you you know, don't know what you're talking about. Why you bring the psychic into our house? This is this is stupid. Everything you're doing is stupid. But the buddy TV show comes on while the psychic is there. Shellyta: Yeah. Cause the psychic picked up energy in this particular room that's now converted into an office, which used to be a bedroom. and PropJosh: Right, right. Right. Shellyta: then the show would come on and the mom was like, This show doesn't it's a show that basically doesn't exist. Like you can't Google PropJosh: Right. Shellyta: it, you can't look it up. PropJosh: Right, right. Shellyta: And yeah, the husband chases the psychic out. And he's You're trauma, you're scaring my kids. He's like, We're gonna PropJosh: Ha ha ha. Shellyta: and then he and the Grace get into it that night and it's scaring their other kids, the little one. And like, PropJosh: Right. Shellyta: I was just like, Divorce this man. PropJosh: Ha ha ha. Shellyta: Just no. He's not a provider of anybody, like no. PropJosh: Yeah. Right. Play by Tophur Grace. Top for Grace is pretty good at playing assholes. Shellyta: Yeah, he really is. but it's just like but Grace ends up not wanting to stay in the room with him because how dare him. She should have put him on the couch, but I guess he was like the PropJosh: Right, right. Shellyta: c crazy sleeps downstairs. And then PropJosh: Ha ha ha. Shellyta: the the show ends up popping up during the witching hour. And she's trying to bring PropJosh: of course, yeah. Shellyta: the TV to show him, but because PropJosh: Well, no, what happens is she reaches into to the TV and then her hand Shellyta: Yeah, she is stuck. PropJosh: gets stuck in there and she runs up and tries to Shellyta: Holding the T V PropJosh: Yeah, and tries to tell him and he just could not see her. It's like Shellyta: Mm mm. PropJosh: she was not visible to him anymore. And so like then she ends up getting sucked into the TV. And the minute she gets sucked into the TV, the entire background changes. Shellyta: Yeah. PropJosh: He goes from it the bedroom changes to a a married couple's bedroom to a bachelor's, a single Shellyta: Yeah. PropJosh: father type of thing, background. Shellyta: Yeah. PropJosh: So it which was I thought was pretty cool because it's like these people get sucked into the show and then their families forget about them. And it's like the whole reality warps to where they can't where they just don't exist. Shellyta: It's a Mandela effect situation. PropJosh: Right, right. And I was like, that's pretty interesting. how they did Shellyta: Yeah. PropJosh: that, so that way they're not necessarily missing to the to the family. Shellyta: Mm-hmm. And it explains stuff where it's like, well, why didn't people point out or notice XYZ? because magic. That's why. That's why. PropJosh: Right. Because Grace kept trying to explain to her husband, like, we have another kid. And he was like, that doesn't make any sense. She's like, well, why is there a big gap in between the oldest and the youngest? Like, Shellyta: Mm-hmm. PropJosh: we always talked about having three kids. Why do we have and it's such a big gap? Why do we have that extra room? Why do I why am I remembering a goldfish? All this stuff, like is certain things. Shellyta: Cause a mother knows. PropJosh: And so then we see that Grace is now the new nurse. Shellyta: Yeah. PropJosh: And she's just like programmed to be that nurse. She doesn't remember the real world or anything. She's just Shellyta: Mm mm. PropJosh: which another funny scene for me. So when Buddy comes to her and he needs to get bandaged up because it's his burnt side. Shellyta: He look he so looks terrible. PropJosh: Yeah, which is my man, that's my favorite. That was probably my favorite look of Buddy is his burnt face tr coming through the bandages. Shellyta: Of the fact that Buddy was not a person in a suit, but had organs, he was PropJosh: Right. Shellyta: a giant stuffed animal came to life. PropJosh: Right. Shellyta: Is the only way to describe him because of his anatomy. PropJosh: Right, which was pretty much Barney, because it's like there was no, you know, the whole point of Barney was he wasn't a guy in a costume. He was a stuffed toy, a giant stuffed toy, Shellyta: That came to life. PropJosh: yeah, that came to life. So that's what Buddy was supposed to be, and I love it. Like 'cause you could see his ribs and stuff and his so Shellyta: But Buddy's a pervert and he was like hugging up on Grace and making her feel uncomfortable. PropJosh: Yeah, his tongue start coming out. And he Shellyta: Yeah. PropJosh: was trying to lick her or whatever. He's trying to put his tongue in her mouth or something. It was it was disgusting but hilarious. Shellyta: Yeah, but PropJosh: So Shellyta: it cuts to the kids because they're like in the woods and stuff trying to get to let me see the city and buddy. Cause it wasn't Emerald, it was like Diamond City. Diamond City. Yeah, so they're trying to get to PropJosh: Yeah, I forgot the Okay, Diamond City. Yeah, yeah, and it looked far away and it Shellyta: Diamond City and like they're and that's when Oliver and Hannah were like, Freddie, why the fuck did you not save Wade? And she's like, it was yeah. PropJosh: Right. And Freddie even has a dream or something. She has a nightmare and and Wade is talking to her like Freddie, why'd you let me die and stuff, you know? Shellyta: Yeah. PropJosh: So that's her her white guilt. Shellyta: Yeah. And then they're trying to get to Diamond City and everything. And they end up like cause Freddie still has her backpack and she's carrying around Mr. Mailbox. And wasn't there a PropJosh: Yeah, yeah. Shellyta: period of time where like Oliver was being a big baby, was like, I gotta go pee. And they're like, just do it. Just do it. Yeah. And he was scared because PropJosh: Yeah, that was a yeah, that was a whole part where you had to go pee. And they were like Shellyta: everywhere he peed, everything was alive. PropJosh: that's right. That was so funny 'cause he started peeing on a flower and the flower's like, Hey, what are you doing? Shellyta: And this is when I thought that maybe Oliver was her son. Cause I was like, PropJosh: okay. Shellyta: He's so he's getting too much screen time and his problems, PropJosh: Right. Shellyta: he's such a baby. PropJosh: Right. I kinda thought about that. And then when Freddie mentions like they see a goldf she's like, I used to have a goldfish I said, she's that's what I know. Yeah, I was like, That's Grace's daughter. Shellyta: That's when I noticed, yeah, when she said the goldfish part, I was like, damn. Freddie's gonna survive this movie. She is main character plot shield. but they PropJosh: Yeah. she's the first one to notice the book and everything, so Shellyta: Well, Wade was the one who actually took the initiative. So I mean, I figured that I PropJosh: Right, right, exactly. Shellyta: thought that the two of them would have been like main characters. I thought Freddie was gonna help. past the baton to get someone where they needed to go. But she ended up PropJosh: Right, yeah. Shellyta: having too much she was doing too many dumb things. I was like, this is main character plot shield. PropJosh: I know. Even though this movie had a lot of black people in it, they it wasn't Yeah. Right, yeah. The the the bunny Shellyta: They killed him off every single time they popped up. Even the mailman. Even the mailman. He got killed off. He got killed off by Buddy pretty early. Wade got killed off. Tyler, spoiler alert, he's gonna get killed off too. PropJosh: Right. The bunny, she was black. The voice actress for the bunny was black. The person inside the costume was black. I look I had looked it up. So there was a yeah, there there's a lot Shellyta: see I didn't know that. But I know that every time they showed someone black on screen, they died instantly. PropJosh: of black people in this movie. I think half the cast was black in this movie. Right, exactly. Shellyta: They all died so fast. They're like, well, we can only have one on screen at a time. Let's kill you off so we can bring on another one. PropJosh: Right, exactly. Let's kill all these victims. Yeah. Well, at least I guess they excused it because the voice of Buddy was black, you know. Shellyta: Yeah. Well. Mm-hmm. But PropJosh: Kegan Michael Key did the voice, did a great job. Shellyta: no, but then they run into these weird old West people who basically are, I don't know, they shouldn't be PropJosh: It's like howdy duty. It's like a im yeah, it's like a you ever heard of that show? Howdy Shellyta: No. PropJosh: duty? It's howdy duty time. It's a marionette puppet thing from the fifties, from the nineteen fifties. And that's basically Shellyta: Okay. PropJosh: what they were doing. Shellyta: I believe it. it made sense, but it was just like in my head, the only way that I could try to not feel uncomfy during every time they were on scene screen was I had to be like, well, this older homeless man probably still sees himself as a little kid. PropJosh: That's what it was. Cause it took me a minute it took me the second watch to figure that out. 'Cause the first watch I thought he was just an old man. And then I like, no, he was a kid that survived and stayed, Shellyta: Yeah, got I got that the PropJosh: yeah. Shellyta: but I was just like that's why he thinks that the little girl is pretty because he sees himself as a kid. But I was just like, This man needs to go ahead and register. Just go ahead and register. This is PropJosh: Right, right. That was a very creepy part. I I figured it out I figured it out more when Buddy found them and he tried to sing the I love you song with the older the old man and he was like, You're too old, it doesn't work, so you end up killing Shellyta: Well, PropJosh: him. Shellyta: he they explain it though. They tell the kids about their old show. they Yeah. Uh-huh. PropJosh: Yeah, that's true. Yeah, 'cause they say it used to be a western. Shellyta: And then they made up that song that made him really mad and he lost his shit. And that's how they learned PropJosh: Right, right. Shellyta: that song. So it's like that was the only reason why I tried to not be so super uncomfy anytime they were on screen. but they like gave the children PropJosh: Yeah, but they were creepy. Shellyta: basically drugs and had the flowers. PropJosh: yeah, and try to rob them because they took Shellyta: They did rob It wasn't try. They successfully robbed them for their candy. PropJosh: Yeah, yeah, they robbed them. They took the yeah, they took the backpack, which we didn't talk much about the backpack, 'cause he was a whole character, which I love that backpack. He was pretty funny. Shellyta: Yeah. He he used the her handy dandy bat pack, he used the bat pack bat pack from Dora. He just had PropJosh: 'Cause I think he literally said in the movie, What's a penis? Shellyta: Yeah, he says he would say random things. But he had candy. PropJosh: Cause Oliver's like I cause Oliver's like, I need to pee. He's like, I can't I can't do it in front of you, right? I don't want you to see my penis. And Shellyta: Yeah. PropJosh: backpack said, What's a penis? Shellyta: she would keep Freddie kept their so candies and juice boxes were in in the thing. PropJosh: yeah, yeah, yeah. Shellyta: So the homeless man and his puppet friend stole her backpack so that they could have snacks and goodies and stuff. And instead of going to Diamond City, she's like, We gotta get Strappy back. We gotta get Strappy. Cause, you know, wish she had that initiative for Wade. PropJosh: right, right, yeah. Which I guess I know but I understood with Strappy more than the mailbox. The mailbox you not more than Wade, obviously. Shellyta: 'cause more than Wade. Wade's life mattered. PropJosh: Justice for Wade. Shellyta: She didn't she didn't hesitate at all for Strappy. She's like, guys, we have to drop everything. We are all saving Strappy, whether y'all come with me or not. There was none of that for Wade. It was like, well, Wade's on his own. He's dead. PropJosh: Right, right, yeah. This backpack. Right. Well, Wade's dead. Sorry, Wade. I tried, I tried. He's still alive when she left him. Shellyta: but they they end up Buddy finds the homeless people and he kills them because they they're too PropJosh: Yeah, yeah. Shellyta: old to make the the words come up in the screen. PropJosh: Right, right. And so they so the kids reach Diamond City. Yeah, yeah, they yeah, they yeah, they get Strappy back. Right, right. Shellyta: no, they get Strappy back. They fight Buddy. They they 'cause they have bicycles. They manage to get Strappy and then they get to Diamond City. because and then that's when 'cause when do they end up realizing that it's not real? I'm trying to remember when Buddy gets them. PropJosh: He gets them immediately after they find out Diamond City is not real. When it they see Diamond City is just a little cardboard cutout that they've been walking to the Shellyta: Yeah, in the distance. PropJosh: whole time. And so as soon as they find that out, Buddy appears and grabs them and hugs Shellyta: And hugs and sings a song. PropJosh: them. And yeah, he sings the song and this thing goes off. And then the show comes right back on, and they're all scared when it the show's back on. Of course, and then we get a new character, another black kid. Shellyta: Tyler. Who which Tyler was all about like and I love the passive aggressiveness of this new episode because Tyler was like, they all ran away because I was winning at the baseball game. And then his buddy's like, Well, if they just say sorry, we can forgive them for running away. PropJosh: Right, right. Shellyta: And I was just like, Y'all all ran away because Tyler was good at baseball? What? PropJosh: Right. Shellyta: The whole team, we're just not playing anymore. How do you play baseball with four people? PropJosh: Right. I was laughing. The audience was laughing when Buddy was grabbing them and pushing the kids around. Shellyta: Not the audience when I watched it. There was a lot of there was a lot of uptight white people when I went. And so that's why me and my sister, we were laughing so hard. And then we're like, PropJosh: my audience was laughing. Shellyta: I'm sorry. Let's not be disruptive. PropJosh: I guess you got two kinds of viewers for this movie. Shellyta: We were making openly we're like, look, gon' kill the next black person and then it happened. PropJosh: I didn't even bother getting attached to Tyler. I was like, Well Shellyta: See, the thing is is that they could have at least told Tyler what was going on. What got me was the fact that they didn't even bring Tyler inside with them. How y'all gonna PropJosh: No they didn't. Shellyta: leave him out there as bait for buddy? PropJosh: Yeah. I know. It's like we already Shellyta: But they save the mailbaks. PropJosh: I know the in and he's still a person. Yes, indeed, indeed. Right. But that mailbox is way more important. Shellyta: Tyler was still a kid. He was still a kid who had a family who doesn't remember him. They could have, they could have brought Tyler inside. Like Nurse Grace was there. And about this PropJosh: So Shellyta: time, Nurse Grace realizes that Freddy is her kid. Cause she she PropJosh: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Shellyta: had put the band-aids on. She's like, you gotta have two so that they always hold hands. PropJosh: yeah, yeah, yeah, 'cause we s 'cause right, 'cause we see Grace putting a band aid on Freddie's younger brother Shellyta: Mm-hmm. PropJosh: earlier in the movie and she did that way, so so it kinda triggered a memory for Freddie when when Grace does that to her. Shellyta: Yeah. But no, then they are like trying to figure out what's going on with because they end up they don't even tell Tyler that they're about to do this ridiculous plan of pissing Buddy off. They sing the I hate you song, which they knew good and well from the Western people that it made Buddy lose his shit. And PropJosh: Right. Shellyta: then they do it and transform him into a monster. And I was like, what was the point of this? Why would you make him stronger? PropJosh: Right, right. It I was thinking that too, because I was like w this was stupid. Shellyta: That's what you get for listening to some drug addict homeless people. PropJosh: Right. But it's like, well they escaped somehow, so maybe this will help. But yeah, it Shellyta: No. PropJosh: wasn't smart. Shellyta: And then the fact that so he loses his shit and then they all run inside and they leave Tyler outside. They didn't even tell him. So he can get killed. And then PropJosh: Yeah. Well, Tyler doesn't get killed till later, 'cause unfortunately Grace gets killed before Tyler because 'cause Shellyta: Yeah. PropJosh: Buddy's in his monster form for a while and the sky turns dark and like Shellyta: I thought that Tyler died before Grace. PropJosh: No, he dies after. Because Tyler dies when Buddy he cause he sings because Tyler saves Buddy. He sings the I Love You song and Buddy turns back to normal because of Tyler, but he kills Tyler in that process. Cause he cause he like hug Shellyta: Because he's h squaw hugged him too tight. PropJosh: yeah, he yeah, he hugged him to death. That's that's how Tyler dies. But like Grace is killed by Buddy Shellyta: Yeah. PropJosh: in his monster form. Shellyta: Yeah, cause she sacrifices herself because the bunny's already dead by this point. The bunny was trying to reason with Buddy and to calm him down. You can't do it. PropJosh: yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, 'cause they c yeah, yeah, 'cause the bunny was telling not to piss off Buddy. 'Cause now that's when we see that the the bunny did Shellyta: Yeah. PropJosh: know what was going on and she was like, You don't want to piss him off, you don't trust me you don't wanna piss him off and she gets killed. Shellyta: Mm-mm. Yeah, she gets killed. And then that's when, Freddy realizes that Grace is her mom, and everyone's like, You have a mom? What? PropJosh: Right. Shellyta: and I did like this one moment that I thought was really funny was Hannah had mentioned something. It was, I can't remember exactly what point it was, but she had brought up a memory, and Oliver was like, How would you know you just got here? PropJosh: that's right. That's when they were in the forest. They were talking about yeah, they I think it was remembering something on the show. Shellyta: Yeah. And it was just which brought up that they acknowledged that these were new castmates. And while the new castmate felt like they were there the whole time, all the other kids are aware that they're brand new. but PropJosh: Yeah. 'Cause I think Oliver and Freddie mentioned about Josh and Hannah wasn't there when Josh was there. Shellyta: Yeah, they did mention Josh. Poor Josh. Rest in peace. And then so like, but it was like the bunny gets killed and they're barricaded in there. That was when the mail the new mailman got killed because they had a new one. and yeah, that was a white guy, and they realized PropJosh: Yeah. Right. I think it was a white guy this time 'cause the first one was black and he got killed, so Shellyta: that they have to get into the well. cause PropJosh: Yeah, yeah, 'cause the mailbox points over to the well. That's why I said Shellyta: Yeah. PropJosh: that that's how the mailbox contribute to to their adventure. Shellyta: Even though there was foreshadowing in the very beginning that you throw all your worries and you're down the well, I feel like the well could have told them, Come here, kids. But the thing, but PropJosh: Right, right. I know, right? Yeah. Wasn't the whale alive? Yeah, the whale was alive too, 'cause everything was alive. Shellyta: the thing is, is if the mailbox was left behind, he could have still pointed. If he was stayed as a mailbox PropJosh: True. Very true. You're right. You're right. Shellyta: at a house, I don't think Buddy would have killed him if the mailbox was just there. He already took off his mouth. He didn't see him as a threat. PropJosh: Right, that's all, yeah. He took off his mouth because the mailbox saw Buddy kill Josh. Shellyta: Yeah, he can kill Josh. PropJosh: And so he's like, When we rip his mouth off, and then that's it, he's no longer a threat. So the mailbox was fine after that. Shellyta: Freddie was like wetness protection program. PropJosh: Yeah. Shellyta: But they go down the well, and then Grace, the mom, gets killed, you know, like holding off Buddy, and PropJosh: Yeah. Shellyta: she tries singing the song and it just it doesn't help. It doesn't do anything really except for make Buddy mad. PropJosh: Right. Shellyta: Cause she's not a kid. And then PropJosh: Right, right. Shellyta: yeah, and then that's when Tyler resets him and gets PropJosh: Right. Shellyta: killed. And the thing is is that Buddy realizes that he he's his hips are too big to fit down the well. PropJosh: That's right, I forgot about that. Yeah, he shaves Shellyta: So he shart shaving off his hips. PropJosh: off his hips to go down the well and it goes after them. 'Cause they go into this facility Shellyta: Yeah. PropJosh: and it's like a it look like an empty school. And like they Shellyta: Yeah. But was in the back the back part, it's like because before they get to the school part, I guess they're like more in an officey back room kind of thing for it. PropJosh: Yeah, yeah. Shellyta: cause it looks like a weird cause it doesn't give off school vibes until like later when they go through the little hole, when Freddie crawls through. But like I'm trying to remember when did Hannah die? PropJosh: Hannah died pretty much around the same time. Oliver dies. They both die around the same time. They get to this room. Shellyta: Well, Oliver sacrifices himself. Hannah, I think, gets killed because they're all running. Cause I don't think Hannah made it in through the door at the base of the well. Yeah. And then Oliver's tired of running and he's like, I just don't want to do this anymore. PropJosh: No, yeah, she didn't make it through the door. She gets killed at the door and then Yeah, and he gets eaten. Right. So he gets eaten by Buddy. 'Cause that that's when they're actually in the room and they see this other Shellyta: Yeah. PropJosh: unicorn that's there. This older unicorn with glasses and stuff. Shellyta: Yeah. And he points to this little hole that they can go through, this little passage. And Oliver PropJosh: Yeah, yeah. Shellyta: doesn't want to run anymore. In Oliver fashion. They should have left him in the very beginning. Wade would have ran. Wade would have if Wade and Oliver had switched places PropJosh: Oliver should I know Oliver should have died back when Wade did. Yeah. It should have been w it should have been if I rewrote if I wrote this movie, Oliver should have been the one that got killed instead of Wade Shellyta: Mm-hmm. PropJosh: early on in Act One. That's what should have happened. Since Oliver was the one that snitched. Shellyta: It would have been too woke if Wade survived. Nah, but Wade would have Wade would have called through. He would have done everything. And so PropJosh: Yeah. Shellyta: Wade would have been like, Tyler, we in this. And Tyler would have Bet. I feel like if Wade were there, Tyler would have been on board. No questions asked. Cause that's what we do. PropJosh: Yeah, yeah. Wade would yep. Yep, exactly. But Tyler wouldn't have been there if Wade was still alive. It would be a different white kid instead. Shellyta: But if it were Tyler, cause if another black kid is like, Tyler, we ain't doing this, he'd be like, say less. Mm-hmm. PropJosh: So while they're there, they see something on the wall. Maybe it's just when it's Freddie's by herself after Oliver's Eaten. Shellyta: Yeah. PropJosh: And you see like three yeah, you see Shellyta: Yeah. PropJosh: three unicorns on the wall on a picture a drawing or mural of three unicorns. I Shellyta: Yeah. PropJosh: forgot what the other characters' names were. They said Buddy and these other two. Shellyta: Benny, I think one was Benny, I think. PropJosh: Yeah, probably. So I think one of those unicorns was the old guy unicorn that didn't say nothing. I saw a video saying that it that could have been the case. Yeah. Shellyta: Their theory. it was Buddy, Bobby, and Benny. PropJosh: okay. Shellyta: yeah. The three of them. PropJosh: Yeah. Shellyta: And the fact that there was a three three unicorn group. But she ends up like I guess the one thing about having the mailbox was that she uses it to kill buddy. PropJosh: Nobody that's right. T to stab yeah, yeah. She s ends up stabbing Buddy when he runs after her and and Shellyta: Which she could have grabbed Mr. Mailbox and at the final act. They could have just that could have been when all of that could've still happened. But she kills Buddy with PropJosh: Yeah, yeah. Shellyta: the mailbox. She's covered in blood. And then that's when PropJosh: Yeah. Shellyta: you see she goes to this room and there's like all the TVs of all the different kids. PropJosh: Yeah, yeah. When she did before she s goes to that room, she saw another room that showed where her mom saw with buddies looking at the screens like, Come on in and all that stuff or whatever. Shellyta: yeah. PropJosh: And they have a bunch of like little things, like maybe little brains or something that's connected to the T V kind of watching. Shellyta: Yeah. PropJosh: It was kind of a weird thing. It it was a very weird facility, but with no people there. So if they do a sequel, they're probably gonna touch on that a little bit more. Shellyta: It's like that's the AI. PropJosh: Right, yeah, maybe yeah. Cause Buddy always felt like he had to keep making a show. That's Shellyta: Yeah. PropJosh: why he kept trying to end it and and follow the rules of the show. It's just that Buddy had a temper. If he didn't have a temper, they would just keep making a show. But it's like, who is the show for? Because in the real world, they didn't even see the show. So it it would make sense to me if they watched the show and it's like, this is a show that they watch on TV, like like Barney for us, and we find out that Barney the show itself was actually a different reality where these kids are stuck on a T V show. That would make a little bit more sense, but they didn't say that. It was just more like this is a show but we don't know what the show is for. Shellyta: But it le loops in the kids. cause the show would show it's there to steal kids because PropJosh: Yeah, yeah. Shellyta: it would pop up randomly for a kid and then that's when they would reach in and get got. PropJosh: Right. Yeah, yeah, exactly. Shellyta: but it was just like it was interesting like seeing all those kids and like she technically didn't stop it. She didn't prevent more kids from going in there. She didn't PropJosh: Technically, I think they tried to I think they tried to make it look like that to excuse Wade from dying 'cause it was a little black boy that put his hand through the TV and she put her hand up and kind of pushed him back. So that was the one black kid. Shellyta: Yeah, but what about if he tries it again? it's like, that's weird. Let me try. Well PropJosh: I know, I know. So that was the one black person that got saved that didn't die. For all the other ones that got killed. Yeah. Shellyta: She had to save one to make up for Wade's life mattered. That's all I'm gonna keep hashtag Wade. but she ends up like going through the TV and like ends up in this random Hispanic family's fan house. PropJosh: Right, right. It's just speaking Spanish and stuff and and the movie goes off. Shellyta: And good and well, now the police are gonna show up and be like, my gosh, these Hispanic people and this little white girl covered in blood. And all she PropJosh: Kidnapped they kidnapped this white girl. Shellyta: has is a mailbox and a backpack. And they can't even speak English to say, like, we know nothing of this. No, no say, no say. PropJosh: Right, that's that right, they yeah. Right. And the mailbox and the backpack are not alive anymore. They compl yeah. They're inanimate Shellyta: Mm, they're just this is the mailbox. PropJosh: objects now. Shellyta: Which shows you that she valued the life of an inanimate object more than Wade. Two times over. PropJosh: I see you feel the same way as my daughter did about Freddie. Shellyta: She's she's she had development as time went on, but nah, you can't do my boy Wade like that and expect me to forgive you. Like, PropJosh: I know I know Shellyta: And Oliver was on my shit list. Like, I know that technically, if Oliver had just followed the plan, then everyone would have been fine. They could have gone to Diamond City on the train. PropJosh: yeah. Shellyta: And then they would have found out that Diamond City wasn't real and been like, okay, it's a different plot now. But but Freddie, I think it was because Oliver's incompetence was not it was not intentional. Like he was just naive and dumb. Like Freddie's incompetence PropJosh: Yeah, he was. Shellyta: came from misguided values of life. PropJosh: Yeah, definitely. Shellyta: Wade treated Freddie like she was his ride or die. And she did not feel mutual. PropJosh: Mm, yeah, I know. So it makes me wonder since Freddie is back into the real world where her room magically turned back to normal. Shellyta: Mm, I don't know. I don't think so. Who knows? PropJosh: Right. Shellyta: I think she's just gonna be a random little girl because she doesn't remember anything about her real world life. Cause that even when she was in the school, she didn't remember herself. She didn't remember her dad. PropJosh: That's true. But she probably but I'm that's why I'm wondering. Maybe she's getting her memories back once you're in the real world. Shellyta: Maybe she doesn't. Maybe she just ends up being in a situation. She doesn't know her phone number. She's just a girl without memories only of the buddy world. and so she's PropJosh: Right. Shellyta: covered in blood. It looks like these Hispanic family at their cookout for harboring a little white girl. And that's not gonna look good. PropJosh: Man, if a little white girl if a little white girl ended up in my house, blood cover all Shellyta: Covered in blood. PropJosh: her, I would immediat I would quietly push her out of the house. Right. Like, hey, here you just it had to be through the back Shellyta: Nope, fingerprints are now on her. And your neighbors and your neighbors saw a little white girl with blood leaving your house. You're it's over. Game over. PropJosh: door or something, I'd be like, I don't I nothing to do with this. Shellyta: Someone's ring camera sees it. It's over. PropJosh: I don't know. Maybe I'll cover her in a sheet. Or s I don't know. It's it's it's I don't know. I know. There's no way out of it. There's no way out of it. Can't couse you can't call the police. Shellyta: That's even more suspicious. Now everyone's like, why is the there's nothing you can do? No. No. PropJosh: So all right, favorite characters. We already know your least favorite character. Shellyta: my favorite character, Wade. PropJosh: Obviously. Yeah, Wade is my favorite character. Shellyta: other than Wade, I wanna say, okay. I like Tyler, but other than Wade and Tyler, I wanna PropJosh: Yeah. Shellyta: say it have to be the train. PropJosh: man. The train is honorably mentioned for me. I love that train, but I I gotta go with Strappy. I like Strappy a lot. Shellyta: Buddy is one of my favorite characters. PropJosh: of course. Buddy, yeah, the main guy. Yeah, I love Buddy. Buddy was awesome. Shellyta: Buddy is great. PropJosh: Yeah, yeah. I kind of I like Buddy so much, I kind of hate it that he got killed. Because I was like, I want to see more of Buddy, honestly. I want to see a sequel with Buddy back. Shellyta: Yeah. I I believe that Buddy is an immortal entity. I don't believe that he actually is dead. I think that they stabbed him. They're gonna sing a PropJosh: Yeah, yeah. That's true. They could they could probably bring him back to life some kind of way anyway, 'cause he's Shellyta: song and then he's gonna be back and he's gonna be patchwork. PropJosh: Right, right, yeah. So Buddy could come back. I I did enjoy seeing Buddy. Buddy was fun, but yeah, other than Buddy, but yeah, Wade obviously and Strappy, I love Strappy, Strappy was so clueless that I loved him 'cause he reminded me 'cause Strappy was a little bit of backpack from from Dora the Explorer. That's Shellyta: Yeah. PropJosh: what he was. Shellyta: St Strappy is an association with Freddy for me. PropJosh: Ha ha ha ha. Shellyta: cause Strappy, and I guess my problem was was that Strappy at one point used his straps as the he stretched them out really far and did like cool stuff and grab stuff. Why didn't PropJosh: Yeah. Shellyta: Strappy do that for Wade? PropJosh: Yeah, Strappy could have helped Wade over the justice for Wade. So many moments Shellyta: Strappy could have saved Wade. There were just so many moments that Wade could have been saved. PropJosh: Wade could have been saved instead of being the second victim or third victim of the well actually more than just the third. He was 'cause I if I'm counting Shellyta: Jesus PropJosh: all the inanimate objects that died, Wade should have died. Shellyta: I think he died like fourth because it was like the train because it was Josh, then the nurse, the the the clock die? Yeah, the clock, then the train, and PropJosh: The clock Yeah, the clock died. He punched the clock. Yeah. Shellyta: then yeah, and then wait. So he's like fifth, but he was the first, he was the second PropJosh: When did the mailman die? Shellyta: person. The mailman didn't die until later. He PropJosh: okay, okay. Shellyta: died after 'Cause the mailman I don't think that the mailman died before Wade, did he? PropJosh: remember and I watched this twice. I don't remember when he died. Shellyta: He might have died before Wade when the children were running. Brady might have killed the mailman then and and PropJosh: That could have been the case. Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. Shellyta: then he killed Wade. But it was just like there were just so many factors that Wade didn't have to like die. Strappy could have saved PropJosh: Right. 'Cause like I said this movie was definitely killing black people. Shellyta: Wade. PropJosh: This movie was not a fan of black people. It was all about killing black people. Shellyta: Killing black people making me mad. but it was just like, yeah, the least favorite characters, I mean PropJosh: Mm. Shellyta: Oliver, Freddy. But you know, the dad, I actually dislike PropJosh: Her dad. Yeah. Shellyta: the dad more than Oliver and Freddie. Like, they pissed me off. PropJosh: Yeah. Shellyta: But like there were moments where I was like, okay. PropJosh: Yeah. Shellyta: I didn't really care for the homeless man. He gave me uncomfy feelings. PropJosh: So you literally now I think about it, you literally like the black characters more than the white the white characters are your least favorite characters. 'Cause Shellyta: Holly Grace. PropJosh: Yeah, she's the only yeah, okay. She was probably the only white character you liked. Hannah wasn't white. Shellyta: I like Grace. Yeah, I like Hannah. she was she wasn't white. No, but I didn't and I think it was because, you know, like, cause Oliver had his like Freddie and Oliver had moments where I was like, mm, maybe I'm coming around. But the dad, no redeeming qualities whatsoever. PropJosh: Yeah, dad was an asshole. He didn't need to be that much of an asshole. Shellyta: I disliked Oliver more than Freddie, but Freddie, no, Freddie, I dislike her more. I don't know, it's between them because it's like it goes back to I dislike the I d wish that she didn't survive as long as she did, but someone had to survive. PropJosh: Yeah. I was okay with Oliver after he was a snitch. I think I I got I got over that after after Oliver realized that that Buddy was evil, then then I felt like Oliver was on board after that. He wasn't he wasn't a hindrance or anything after that. Shellyta: This he wasn't a hindrance. He delayed them a whole fifteen minutes trying to pee 'cause he was afraid everyone's gonna see him peeing outside. Dudes be peeing in urinals and he's afraid to pee outside. Little kids pee at urinals, don't they? I don't go into male bathrooms. I have seen I've seen dudes PropJosh: I didn't hate I didn't hate Oliver. Yeah, well he's a scared little kid. Yeah. Yeah. Well they got they have a small unero in the men's bathroom, so Shellyta: pee with each other on buildings. it's just PropJosh: Yeah. Shellyta: Oliver, I think what made me like Oliver was I was on board with Oliver up until he's like, I'm tired of running. I'm like, the fuck? Wade didn't get this chance PropJosh: Yeah. Shellyta: to run with you guys and you're just throwing away this life. PropJosh: Yeah. Shellyta: You should have been in the back. PropJosh: my goodness. All right. So let me let's rate. Let me give you the rating system. Shellyta: Okay. PropJosh: So one star, it's like a five star rating system for us. Shellyta: Okay. PropJosh: But we have it different names. So one star is trash. Shellyta: Mm-hmm. PropJosh: Two stars, we call it a do-over, which means, you know, get the same, you know, get the same characters, do it over kind of thing, or you know, Shellyta: Mm-hmm. PropJosh: just a do-over. Three stars is a replay. It's like I like this enough to just watch it again, but Not that great. It's like it's it's fine in the middle. So it's in the middle. Four stars is sequel. I want to see this again. And five stars is neck bleed. I love this movie so fucking much it made my neck explode and bleed. So I'll tell you my rating first. My rating is sequel. I give it a a a a pretty high sequel. I definitely wanna see this movie again. If I hear a buddy two coming out, I'm going to the theater and watch this. I I had fun with this movie. This movie was very fun. I'm gonna probably put this as one of my favorite comedies of the year. not quite horror. Not yeah, 'cause I I'll have a favorite horror and I'll have a favorite comedy. I'm gonna put this more with the comedy part for me as one of my favorite comedies. So yeah. Shellyta: Mm-hmm. I guess with your rating system, I would probably do a five, either a 4.5 or a five. Yeah. Cause it was like I would watch it again. And the amount of times where I've been telling people that they need to watch the movie so we can talk about it. Like, I PropJosh: Yeah. Shellyta: thoroughly enjoyed the movie as a whole. Like as much shit PropJosh: Yeah. Shellyta: talking and people made me mad about the Wade situation. Like. PropJosh: Ha ha. Shellyta: I really I really like the movie. I know that everybody had their purpose and that Wade would have made it too hard for Buddy because you had to get rid of him. He was too good. But PropJosh: Right. So I'm gonna say you probably say a a very high sequel then. All right. That's about some a five, a full five. You wouldn't change anything about Shellyta: Yeah. I would say four point five or s no, five. Yeah, I'd give it a PropJosh: it. Shellyta: chain. No, I wouldn't like would it change anything? I mean the only I'm trying to think, cause it's like how would I have changed? PropJosh: You didn't like Wade dying though. Shellyta: But I mean, I wouldn't but it is what it is. I PropJosh: Ha ha ha. Shellyta: mean, it evoked the fact that his character evoked so much emotion from me is good writing and good acting on the PropJosh: True, because Wade didn't have a big part. He wasn't in the movie long. Shellyta: no, but he left such a big impact. the actor PropJosh: Yeah. Shellyta: did a good job and the writing was spot on to make his character like 'cause it's like, yeah, I would have if I redid it and made Wade survive, then it would have been a different movie. PropJosh: Right. 'Cause I I liked Wade's little song at the beginning. He had a little rap song about dancing. Shellyta: It was part of their being brave. It was going into the being brave song. PropJosh: Yeah. Shellyta: Because they mentioned it a couple of times. PropJosh: Mm. Shellyta: but it's like, I don't know, because it's like as the movie, I really I wouldn't want to change it. I yeah, it'd be like, I wouldn't say like maybe 4.8. PropJosh: Okay. All right. So that is our review. So now, you can go ahead and tell the audience where to follow you on social medias.
