- 0:15Hello and welcome to Arguing Ever After.
- 0:17I am Luke and this is my lovely wife Amber.
- 0:20Hello. Together we're the Lord and Lady
- 0:23who lock horns. The count and Countess of
- 0:25contention. The Duke and Duchess of
- 0:27Disagreement. And the King and queen of
- 0:29quarrels. In this podcast, we argue about
- 0:31all things big and small, and we let the audience vote determine
- 0:35who the winner is. Many of our topics are
- 0:39frequently submitted by our listeners, which we actually
- 0:42like, so if you have something you want us to battle about
- 0:45before you try it at home, please share it with us at
- 0:47arguingeverafter@gmail.com. All right, just a forewarning
- 0:53for any of our visual audience. For our audio audience.
- 0:58I hope not our audio audience. We do have a guest who may or
- 1:02may not show up, our new Great Dane puppy, Cleopatra.
- 1:08She is in my lap and we're hoping to keep her quiet because
- 1:12we would like to not have a barking, whining dog during our
- 1:15podcast. That is true because we have a
- 1:17barking, whining dog. Enough.
- 1:20Yeah, yeah. But I think right now she's
- 1:22probably pretty comfortable and cozy on my lap so.
- 1:27She looks that way. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:29I mean, if you were scratching my head and had and I was laying
- 1:33on a blanket on your lap, I would.
- 1:35I would also be pretty chill right now.
- 1:38Yeah, I'm, I'm hoping she just sleeps, but no worries either
- 1:42way. Here we are on episode.
- 1:46What did I say we are? 32. 32 Remember when I talked
- 1:52about toes and fingers and all that to count up that high?
- 1:56There's a lot of fingers and. Toes it's a lot we.
- 1:59Technically need all your fingers and all your toes and
- 2:01someone else's. We got both of both of their
- 2:05hands. Yeah, yeah.
- 2:08But. Technically, doesn't she have
- 2:10spares 'cause she's got the dew claws?
- 2:12Yeah, but I think that only gets her up to.
- 2:15Yeah, No, she doesn't really. I mean, it's fine.
- 2:18But anyhow. So we're here.
- 2:20We are Episode 32 things are on our podcast.
- 2:26I think you're going steady. Yeah, going steady.
- 2:29Which is pretty good. We were going steady once.
- 2:32We did. That happened.
- 2:33In the 1900s. In the 1900s.
- 2:36Did we still call it? I don't think it was.
- 2:38I think that was slightly before our time.
- 2:40I don't think anyone called it that but.
- 2:42But I think I was asked as a youth if we were going steady.
- 2:48Oh, OK, All right. No one asked me.
- 2:50Well, this would have been like your parents maybe.
- 2:53Oh, I could see maybe them using that term I suppose.
- 2:56But but yeah. Or potentially elder siblings in
- 3:00a mocking way. Maybe I don't know about that.
- 3:06Anyhow, so we're we're going, we're trudging along.
- 3:10We do have, I think by the time this airs, I'm not sure where
- 3:16we're going to be at, but Luke is having his other surgery, so.
- 3:21The trudging along she's referring to is US trudging
- 3:24through life right now. It's hard.
- 3:26Yes, yes. But in the long run, I think
- 3:29it'll be much better once you're all healed up.
- 3:31I sure hope so. And you can.
- 3:33Man, if I get surgery for no reason I'm going to be mad.
- 3:38Yeah, I just, I'm, it's going to work fine and it'll be great.
- 3:42But if there is, for whatever reason, a weird pause in our
- 3:45podcast, don't worry. It's just recovery time and we
- 3:48did not expect that we wouldn't be able to record the next one.
- 3:52There will be no pausing. All right.
- 3:55OK. I guess I will podcast alone.
- 3:57We've talked about it. Before you could involve me, I
- 3:59just maybe we have to podcast from a hospital bed.
- 4:03Right. Or maybe it won't be visual you.
- 4:07Could you couldn't invite a guest star potentially?
- 4:09I could, I could, that could happen, I don't know, but we you
- 4:13don't sound upset. We wish Luke best of luck in his
- 4:17surgery that is coming up and a speedy recovery for all
- 4:23involved. The poor guy getting multiple
- 4:25surgeries. I know, I know it's big year,
- 4:28but why not add that into the mix of everything else going on,
- 4:32you know, or is everything else being added into the mix of your
- 4:35surgeries? That's the real question.
- 4:38Which came first? The chicken or the egg?
- 4:41Your medical needs or everything else happened.
- 4:45The answer is The Big Bang. OK, wow, that's not at all
- 4:49controversial. No, it's not.
- 4:56Creation isn't controversial. Well, so we had, in the very
- 4:59beginning of our podcast, we said there were gonna be some
- 5:01topics we'd stay away from. And there you go.
- 5:03You. Just we did not say the universe
- 5:06was something we'd stay away from.
- 5:07Are you sure we didn't say the universe was something we'd stay
- 5:10away from? I.
- 5:10Can't. Sorry, we should.
- 5:12Let's talk about other stuff today.
- 5:15What else is in the universe? There's a lot of stuff in the
- 5:18universe that we can talk about. Yeah.
- 5:20Like space is in the universe. Space is, space isn't.
- 5:26That has is. Well, no it's not 'cause I I
- 5:30feel like I read your mind just now and don't do that.
- 5:34It's off limits. Are you?
- 5:36Sure, I'm pretty sure. Go ahead.
- 5:38Why don't you Go ahead, Go ahead.
- 5:39Space like the final front? View Oh my God.
- 5:42Oh. OK, so and for the people,
- 5:46obviously you've seen the title if you're watching or listening,
- 5:50she doesn't know people, she doesn't know what.
- 5:52I do I do I? Oh, now you know.
- 5:55But you didn't when you were asking the question.
- 5:58I think I did know. I think I did.
- 6:00Actually know OK, let's. Pretend you know your franchises
- 6:03now all of a sudden. But I lumped them all together.
- 6:07They're not all together. So that might be the bigger sin
- 6:11in. Your mind.
- 6:12They do all share. They share a love for what's
- 6:17possible out there in the vast realm of space.
- 6:21And they tell their stories in different ways.
- 6:23But, you know, most of these things involve some sort of
- 6:27space travel with some sort of humans or humanoids, depending
- 6:32on what you're watching. And, you know, they tell, they
- 6:37tell stories about being out there.
- 6:39So if you've been following along for a little bit, it is
- 6:42not unusual. We're a certain genre has been
- 6:47brought up during our podcast and I have kept saying we'll do
- 6:52it on a different podcast. Please.
- 6:54You mean sci-fi 'cause that's a genre?
- 6:56Or are we giving? Are we giving Star Wars its own
- 6:59genre? Don't.
- 7:00You think with all of it, don't you think it kind of has its own
- 7:03genre? No.
- 7:05Oh, you don't. No.
- 7:07Really. Really.
- 7:09Like it's got its like it's huge massive story with a bunch of
- 7:13gazillions of side stories. Sure, but like technically I
- 7:19feel like Star Trek has a larger.
- 7:23Really. Catalog I don't know that I
- 7:25don't know that which has like a larger following or whatever and
- 7:28we probably don't need to get into a debate like that
- 7:30necessarily. Well, I'd have no, because you
- 7:32want to talk about controversial.
- 7:35That's now we're getting controversial.
- 7:37Star Trek versus Star Wars. Oh, for sure.
- 7:41I, Battlestar Galactica, fit into all that.
- 7:44Magically. Because that was fantastic.
- 7:46You know what else was fantastic?
- 7:48Stargate. Stargate, Yeah.
- 7:50So good. I've watched that 10 Interesting
- 7:55Stargate. Wasn't that about like like
- 7:57something with Egypt? And we named our dog Cleopatra.
- 8:01It's. Oh, yes?
- 8:03Was that? No, no, but because Cleopatra
- 8:07was a person. Yes.
- 8:09And OK, good, we're going there. And so in Stargate, the gods
- 8:18were actually an alien race in the in the movie and in the TV
- 8:25series Stargate. So like it would have been
- 8:30Anubis and Raw and Hathor and Set and like those were the gods
- 8:37of ancient Egypt who who would have been portrayed as aliens in
- 8:45the movie and in the OR in the not films in the TV series
- 8:50Stargate. They would not have had people.
- 8:54OK, OK, the. Aliens.
- 8:55Cause the aliens wanted to play gods.
- 8:57That was their deal. They would they would pretend to
- 9:00be gods 'cause they were advanced species and they would
- 9:03fly their spaceships and use their super weapons and find
- 9:06primitive cultures and say we're gods, give us all your stuff.
- 9:12So the Star Wars versus Star Trek wasn't a fair question.
- 9:17You said you wouldn't. Go no, 'cause there's not.
- 9:19You don't. That's not.
- 9:21First of all, I am. I am personally of the belief
- 9:24that we don't need to pick favorites.
- 9:26What of course. No, you don't, because because
- 9:30they both had their own way of doing things and it was great.
- 9:35OK. And it explored what are, I
- 9:38think, the deeper questions for us as humans in different ways
- 9:44that were both wonderful. I really mean that.
- 9:46I liked the shows. I liked the movies of both of
- 9:51those two, and I very much like the this falls under the
- 9:56category subcategory of sci-fi called space opera.
- 10:01Oh, that's there's another another few that I've seen that
- 10:05we don't we don't have to add more into the mix.
- 10:08But so is it then unfair if I were to ask you if Stargator
- 10:12Star Wars was better? Is that an unfair question?
- 10:20No, yeah, no, in that it doesn't necessarily invite more
- 10:24controversy because 100% for sure Star Wars has a larger
- 10:31population of followers where where if you were to get the
- 10:36Star Trek versus Star Wars going, there is both of them
- 10:39have a large number of followers.
- 10:43Gonna say, I really think that only one of the two created the
- 10:47language that people started learning.
- 10:50Am I right about that? Nope.
- 10:52Oh, Star Wars did too. Well, yes, comma the well, I
- 10:59just can't stand that we're talking about this as in depth
- 11:01as we are. The the language you're talking
- 11:06about is Klingon and it was, it's considered to be a complete
- 11:10language. OK, so that is that is the issue
- 11:17between the two is that never mind, I don't want to get into
- 11:22it anymore. OK, we're going to just move on
- 11:25from this. Is the reason you don't get into
- 11:28that is because you get some very passionate people.
- 11:32OK. Who are ready to pick all the
- 11:35sides that they. Yeah, and this might get me
- 11:39cancelled. You're worried about.
- 11:41With a a section of the population that is possible OK.
- 11:45Yeah, well, all right. So let's not do that.
- 11:48The people already know you don't love sci-fi.
- 11:51That's true. They.
- 11:52They already know that you don't care about Star Wars, which is
- 11:56really depressing. That's true, But we don't want
- 11:58to like add people into the. You're protecting me, OK?
- 12:05Yep, we, yeah, we don't want to add people in to the mix here.
- 12:09It's. Very nice that you're protecting
- 12:10me. Just don't from the.
- 12:12The Star Wars and Star Trek. You're welcome.
- 12:15People so OK. And Stargate.
- 12:18And Battlestar Galactica. Is there anything current that's
- 12:22doing all this stuff right now? What's the new hotness?
- 12:27K Pop Demon hunters no. What?
- 12:33Oh, never mind. I nobody that knows anything
- 12:38puts that anywhere near the category of what we're doing.
- 12:43What? How did you That's not even oh,
- 12:47we're. Thinking about it.
- 12:48It's a It's a cartoon. There was Star Wars cartoon.
- 12:52Yeah, it's a cartoon. Let me finish.
- 12:54It's a cartoon made for smaller children, where the other two
- 13:02things you've referenced are made for a wide audience,
- 13:06including adults and and it's about demons from the
- 13:13underworlders. It's not about space and.
- 13:17Maybe I should watch this movie, this TV shows.
- 13:19OK, sounds good. I.
- 13:22Feel like I can get in some K pop and demon.
- 13:25I'm super excited for you to do that, yeah.
- 13:27I probably, but I probably won't watch it.
- 13:29But I don't know. I don't know.
- 13:31All right, so, OK, so Star Wars, can you explain to me why you
- 13:38love Star Wars so much? I'm giving you the floor.
- 13:42This is the Luke hour or or half hour to talk about one of your
- 13:48favorite films that won't say favor cause apparently I can't
- 13:51say that of all time. This is.
- 13:55The Luke Show. It's one of my favorites because
- 13:58we again, we don't need to pick. Right.
- 14:01We don't need to pick our favourites.
- 14:03We can have more than one thing that we love.
- 14:05Yes. Why do I love Star Wars?
- 14:10Yeah, so many reasons. It was the first movie that I
- 14:20saw as a kid 'cause it came out before we were born.
- 14:24Yep. So I and I saw it as a small
- 14:28kid. It was the first movie as a kid
- 14:31that I saw which showed me that anything was possible because
- 14:41the story. It also it helped a lot that the
- 14:44main character's name was Luke. Yeah, I will say that.
- 14:48But regardless, the, IT it did this for, you know, billions of
- 14:54people over time. So certainly the the name is
- 14:57probably not as important. It showed it showed me that
- 15:02anything was possible because I really was able to connect with
- 15:05the story and believe the the story of like we've got this kid
- 15:12who's working on a farm for his aunt and uncle doesn't really
- 15:16know story of his parents. You should just let me take the
- 15:21floor on this one. Just.
- 15:23Can I just? Ask a question.
- 15:24What did they farm? Moisture.
- 15:29OK. OK, so so we've got we've got a
- 15:39kid on the farm working for his aunt and uncle, but he's a
- 15:44dreamer and he's like looking off into space and he's trying
- 15:52to work his way to go to like space.
- 15:58Essentially. He talks with his aunt and uncle
- 16:00about finishing at the Academy so that he can go off on
- 16:04adventures. Anyway, so he's a dreamer, but
- 16:06he works on the farm. And not that I grew up on a
- 16:11farm, but I had one generation removed too, actually farmers in
- 16:19my family. So like, that was not
- 16:21irrelevant. And like, who doesn't, when
- 16:26they're a kid, have some notion of far off adventure as a sort
- 16:31of, you know, creative escape? Like in a Galaxy far, far away.
- 16:37Yeah, OK. Sure.
- 16:40Time long, long ago. That's true too.
- 16:42Just realized there's this is the main difference and I again,
- 16:46I'm not going to get us cancelled.
- 16:48I don't get any cancelled. The main difference between Star
- 16:51Trek and Star Wars. Star Wars is in the past.
- 16:56Star Trek is in the future. Yes.
- 16:59There we go. Alright, sorry, I was just.
- 17:02And Star Trek is. It's not.
- 17:06It's not like in a non earth related timeline.
- 17:13Oh, it's like you didn't. Have Earth at all in Star Wars?
- 17:17No. There's no Earth.
- 17:19Right. Huh.
- 17:21We have nothing to do with it. Nothing.
- 17:23In Star Trek, it's Earth. Well, not really, but it it's
- 17:28the people are like Earth people.
- 17:33Earthlings. Yeah, that's what we're called.
- 17:35Like 500 years in the future. All right, something like that.
- 17:40I'd actually don't know the math, but anyway, I think that's
- 17:44when like the first. On the enterprise.
- 17:47Star Trek things happened that wasn't the first space faring
- 17:53ship. And Yep.
- 17:55Captain Kirk wasn't on the Enterprise.
- 17:57Well, he was. That was the first TV show.
- 18:00They've done a bunch of prequels and sequels, and they've changed
- 18:04the timelines. Why do they do that?
- 18:06They all this is a sci-fi thing. Sci-fi thing whatsoever.
- 18:10Two reasons probably, I imagine tell more stories because it's
- 18:15fun and also comma make more money.
- 18:17Yeah. I mean, like anything that we do
- 18:20is it does it find commercial success And if it does, then OK,
- 18:23let's do it. You know, if if they knew they
- 18:25were going to lose millions of dollars, they wouldn't green
- 18:29light a project. Right, right.
- 18:31OK. I'm sorry I derailed you.
- 18:34As as you are known to do. Well, you know, I mean, it
- 18:36wouldn't be that interesting if you just did the straight
- 18:39storyline because people could watch the movies for themselves.
- 18:43Arguing ever after with just Luke would be less fun.
- 18:47Is that? No, no, no.
- 18:48I was talking about like if we just only talked about just the
- 18:51movies and there was no interjection and you were just
- 18:53recapping them, you know? Oh.
- 18:56Yeah, and chances. Are you're the charming ignorant
- 19:00of the facts copilot? Chances are most people have
- 19:07seen Star Wars movies, most people I would say who are
- 19:11listening. So the odds are pretty good.
- 19:14So I would agree. So you like it because he's a
- 19:16farm boy? Farm Boy.
- 19:18With far off adventures and then and then finds out that he is
- 19:27able to go on these far off adventures.
- 19:30Now for. A series of rather crazy
- 19:34circumstances, but you know. For some folks who heard me say
- 19:38farm boy, they were thinking fetch me that picture.
- 19:42Wow, now we're now we're Wesley. Yes.
- 19:46So there you go. I have taken, I've kidnapped a
- 19:49little bit of this with The Princess Bride.
- 19:51Now you may continue. Sorry.
- 19:53OK, so anyway, so then he goes off on on said grand adventure
- 20:03which spans a massive amount of story which I probably.
- 20:10I got tired just thinking about it, which it's like we're
- 20:15currently 9 movies in and a bunch of TV shows that have been
- 20:19made and cartoons as you pointed out and like bunches and bunches
- 20:26of books that have been written to expand the whole storyline.
- 20:30So there's not enough time. But the gist of it was, and the
- 20:33reason I loved it as a kid and still do, is it tells the story
- 20:37of what a possibility and and through that you get to watch
- 20:44all kinds of different struggles, whether they're
- 20:48political in nature, which, you know, an oppressive empire, or
- 20:56whether they're personal with like.
- 20:59A love story. Sure.
- 21:01Or a friendship. Or I suppose, or you know, I
- 21:11don't know, finding a mentor in life that is outside of your
- 21:15immediate circle of family or friends or I, I don't know.
- 21:20There's so many things. Learning, learning how and when
- 21:24to fight, not just fighting for the sake of fighting.
- 21:29And learning how to respect where you came from, how to
- 21:34respect who your bloodline is and not.
- 21:38I don't mean like respect like in in the normally understood
- 21:43way, but you know. Because I was going to say, I
- 21:45don't feel like the bloodline respect thing there really
- 21:48actually happened in the Star Wars movies.
- 21:51It did. It did in a number of ways.
- 21:55It just in different ways. So respect and fear, but then
- 22:01later, you know, respect, like his parents were two different
- 22:06people. So you know, he had that.
- 22:09Makes sense? Wow, he had, you know, scary bad
- 22:15evil dad and yeah, really good saintly mom and yeah, I don't
- 22:24know. But anyway, bad bad dad turns
- 22:26good. Spoiler alert at the end before
- 22:29he dies. I mean, turns good or does
- 22:33something good. I don't think that one that one
- 22:36is necessarily the same as the other.
- 22:40I don't think that by one. 1 is going to be.
- 22:42Good act. Something I'll table.
- 22:45For later, I don't think one good act makes you a good
- 22:48person. I feel like champs are.
- 22:52Everybody's going to do something good in their life,
- 22:55you know? So, OK, All right, Sorry I
- 22:58derailed you again. That's OK.
- 23:02Anyway, so that's in the the sort of the initial movies that
- 23:05I watched as a kid and then when they came out with the second
- 23:10round of movies, which were prequels in the 90's, the 1900s,
- 23:16Nineteen 90s, those ones explored more of the Star Wars
- 23:24like Galaxy and added in some new characters, some new Jedi
- 23:29that were foundational to the story and.
- 23:33Samuel L Jackson. Samuel L Jackson.
- 23:36That was important. He was.
- 23:40Really. They added in.
- 23:42I mean he was Mace Windu after. All I mean it.
- 23:45I know about his lightsaber and what he had etched on it.
- 23:48And it is not, it's not safe for me to say on radio, which we go
- 23:53on to, but like, yeah, yeah. Yep, for sure and not.
- 23:57All I know. And they added some new
- 23:59villains, which were spectacular.
- 24:04They added in a bunch of new like types of creatures 'cause
- 24:08they're all technically all of them, including the humans
- 24:12aliens 'cause they're not like humans, they're like, right,
- 24:16humanoid. Can I ask a question that
- 24:19probably sounds stupid? Yeah.
- 24:22So the bad guys are cysts. Cysts.
- 24:27Well, how do you say that? How do you there's cysts do?
- 24:30You feel like Sith is. How do you say multiple Sith?
- 24:35Is it like just Moose and there's no me I?
- 24:37Think it's Sith? Yeah.
- 24:39Sith. They are Sith.
- 24:42OK, so is that a like race of people or just like a belief?
- 24:51Yes, ish. Yes, ish.
- 24:54OK, it was made less clear as the movies went on.
- 24:59A race of being, I guess people is maybe a.
- 25:01There, So it's certainly something that can be adopted as
- 25:05a way of belief because you have often in the stories Jedi who
- 25:10turned to the dark side of the Force, who then became Sith.
- 25:17There's also Jedi who turned to the dark side who did not.
- 25:22And then there's Sith who aren't Jedi, who turned to the dark
- 25:26side and and like the second or last or last most recent movie
- 25:30they made, they got a home planet.
- 25:34The Sith did, yeah. Oh, good for them.
- 25:36It's good for, I don't think, but they didn't acquire it.
- 25:38I feel like it was there because there were like monuments and it
- 25:40was thousands of years old. Well, they already had it.
- 25:43Like I feel like they've been around there for and I don't
- 25:45know if they've lost it either. I think we learned, rather that
- 25:48they had a home. Are there any more movies coming
- 25:51out or is it done? Yes.
- 25:53Oh, there are. Year or two.
- 25:57Really. They either start recording this
- 25:59year or they start recording next year or something.
- 26:04Like that filming, Yeah. Interesting.
- 26:05So what you're saying is we are ahead of the curve.
- 26:08We are ahead of with our podcast right now.
- 26:11Look at us like we're change making.
- 26:13Right here, I whatever you're talking about, I'm in.
- 26:16Can we get some Star Wars behind the scenes?
- 26:19That's. The word, that's the word I'm
- 26:20like. We're setting the trends,
- 26:21people. The trends, talking about Star
- 26:23Wars a whole year before, yeah, the recording happens.
- 26:27Interesting. OK, so so they have.
- 26:33So they added to the story in the prequel, they they gave us
- 26:37who was Darth Vader as a child. Yes.
- 26:42And so we learned about Anakin Skywalker.
- 26:45Yes, we did. And and there he had very strong
- 26:50force tendencies. And so then the Jedi came and
- 26:54they wanted to train him. Farm boy too.
- 26:57No, he he was the son of a slave woman.
- 27:02So where do you think the farm folk came from?
- 27:05Like whose side are the farm folk from?
- 27:08What? Like Luke's farm aunt and uncle.
- 27:12Who's who's siblings are those do you think?
- 27:14Are they his mom's or dad? 'S not dad's.
- 27:22Or is it just kind of like uncle, like family close?
- 27:25To I don't think they were actually family.
- 27:27I'm not entirely sure and I don't know every fact about Star
- 27:30Wars. Let's be clear, OK?
- 27:31I know plenty because I've seen the movies and watched some of
- 27:34the shows. I haven't watched all the shows
- 27:36I haven't read. I think I read like half a one
- 27:39book and then I was like didn't, I don't know, didn't feel like
- 27:42going further in it, but. So maybe I'm asking questions
- 27:45that haven't even been answered. No, I feel like that's been
- 27:48answered. I think.
- 27:49I think what the actual answer is, is that they're somehow
- 27:53related to the rebellion and and the guy.
- 27:59What's it, Senator? Can't remember, I don't know,
- 28:07I'm at a loss right now, but that that took the the take that
- 28:15split the kids up. Luke and Leia, whoever that was,
- 28:19I think they were like maybe friends to him.
- 28:22And then, you know, they said aunt and uncle was like.
- 28:26Yeah, Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, that's fair.
- 28:28We have. I mean, we have friends who are
- 28:30like family and you know, like that.
- 28:32There's your kids who think. I would adopt some people's kids
- 28:35if I had to, if the Empire was out to get them.
- 28:38Yeah. Why not?
- 28:39And we were trying to protect them.
- 28:41Yeah, come on down. Sure, we're.
- 28:43Putting you to work on the farm. I mean, we're on the podcast.
- 28:49On the podcast, you know, hey, we could use some editing or I
- 28:53don't know, I don't know. I just learned that our dog
- 28:55drools when she sleeps. Oh, does she drool when she
- 28:58sleeps? No.
- 28:58Sure does. Cute.
- 29:00No one else can see that, and I didn't see it either.
- 29:03It's drool. I don't know that that makes it
- 29:04cute. Oh it is.
- 29:06I actually I I know I don't have an issue with drool.
- 29:10I find it to sometimes be an endearing quality, depending on
- 29:14the dog. Well, it is because they're so
- 29:16like, comfortable or happy or, you know, I don't know.
- 29:21I don't know. It doesn't bother me at all.
- 29:23OK. Which is clearly evident because
- 29:25I've had several drooli dogs in my life.
- 29:27That's true. That's.
- 29:29Yeah, and you know, I will say I feel like there's not enough dog
- 29:33representation, but they do have Chewbacca.
- 29:36Yeah, he's kind of like a dog. Don't do that to Chewbacca.
- 29:40Like in the other movie that I really like, he is a dog.
- 29:44Oh my God, you might have just got cancelled for the second
- 29:47time in one episode. He's a good dog.
- 29:51Don't, don't. No, don't.
- 29:54No, no, no, no, no, no. We're gonna.
- 29:57We need to keep recording tonight.
- 29:59OK. OK.
- 30:00So that might be cut is what you're saying?
- 30:02All right. If it made, if it made the
- 30:03floor, it's because it was. For good.
- 30:05I might cut myself out of this podcast if you Chewbacca.
- 30:09Oh, I'm mad. We're going to move on because
- 30:12you're not going to say it anymore.
- 30:13You know what it is really quickly.
- 30:15He's from a beautiful and wonderful and strong culture.
- 30:24You're going to win this episode so hard.
- 30:27That is, that is supportive to the Rebellion and the cause of
- 30:32all good in the Galaxy. They're friends with the Jedi
- 30:36and Master Yoda specifically I. Understand.
- 30:40They're called the Wookie. I know they're.
- 30:42They speak and have a language. Uh huh, they can fly spaceship.
- 30:46I understand. I mean, I understand.
- 30:50Here's no offense to the dogs in the room I really like.
- 30:53They ain't Wookies. I really like these.
- 30:55Dogs. We had a dog named Wookiee.
- 30:56We did have a dog named Wookiee. He looked kind of like
- 30:59Chewbacca, a little bit, a little bit, a little bit
- 31:01coloring a little bit. Yeah, but here's part of the
- 31:04reason why I see that is because before I saw Star Wars, I saw
- 31:08the epic film Spaceballs. Oh, and it was it's.
- 31:13A dog. John Candy's a dog.
- 31:15He is. And yeah, yeah.
- 31:17So This is why no matter what. Called barf.
- 31:20Yes, yes, yes, yes. That was my favorite Star Wars
- 31:25movie for sure. They're gonna.
- 31:27Have a they're. Gonna have a they're.
- 31:30Doing a something remake. I don't know if it's a remake or
- 31:33a sequel, but you know what? Maybe it's like Episode 4, real.
- 31:37Concern 'cause I watched another one that Mel Brooks did a sequel
- 31:43to. Oh no, I can't remember.
- 31:46Airplane 2. No, no, no, no, no.
- 31:48Like recently there was a remake.
- 31:50Oh yeah, I didn't like it. Naked Gun sequel The Naked.
- 31:54Gun that one either I. Didn't like that one, sorry for
- 31:57those who did I. Don't think that was Mel Brooks,
- 31:59was it? It was Mel Brooks, Naked Gun.
- 32:01I don't think it was. I think so, yeah.
- 32:05Maybe it was, could be anyway, whatever, it doesn't matter.
- 32:09It's that they haven't been that great.
- 32:11OK, so anyway, OK, so back to the story, because and then we
- 32:15got to wrap up the story. So so you have, OK, The first
- 32:22one I was in the second one we had the kid, we were Anakin
- 32:24Skywalker. He was a kid.
- 32:27And then he goes off to become a Jedi, which he does do, falls in
- 32:33love with Queen Amidala and. She had some pretty dope
- 32:38clothes, I won't even lie about that.
- 32:40She did. She was the queen of the whole
- 32:41planet. Yeah, yeah.
- 32:43And, and later she de queened herself and became a senator to
- 32:49the planet 'cause they weren't like rulers forever situation.
- 32:55And and then you have a whole lot of internal strife.
- 33:01There's the there's the, the, the bad guy is well, one of the,
- 33:07one of the bad guys is another Jedi turned Sith and he's trying
- 33:14to, you know, infiltrate the Jedi and stuff.
- 33:17You have the creation of the clone army you have.
- 33:21Wait, were they actually clones or they were just called clones?
- 33:24They were literally clones, so. There, who was the guy or girl?
- 33:27Boba Fett. Oh.
- 33:31Who was the bounty hunter in? I I remember him didn't wait
- 33:35maybe I don't. I think I do.
- 33:38Didn't he capture Han Solo and put him into the thing?
- 33:45Or was that a different bounty hunter?
- 33:48Wasn't there a bounty hunter on Han Solo and Chewbacca?
- 33:52Yeah, but that was not the guy that captured him was a betrayer
- 33:57old friend. Cloud City.
- 34:05Oh man, see, I definitely know this name and it's just for
- 34:08whatever reason escaping me. I'm mad about myself right now.
- 34:14OK, so anyway, so so then. Doesn't it start with the C?
- 34:17Also, you can't right now. You also have Luke Skywalker go
- 34:26off. I'm sorry, not Luke Skywalker.
- 34:29Anakin Skywalker go off and start to show signs of like,
- 34:35like he's getting bad. Yeah.
- 34:40Questions, you know, he's acting on Jedi like anyway, and then it
- 34:46all goes real dark in the in the last one of that series and he
- 34:49starts, you know, killing kids and getting super, super, super
- 34:52bad and. He killed kids.
- 34:53I don't remember that. Yeah, he did.
- 34:56And and then the Emperor. That's pretty bad.
- 35:00Reveals himself as the Sith Lord and then there's this big fight
- 35:04and and Anakin gets his limbs cut off and where he sort of
- 35:09turns Darth Vader He and it's it's pretty dark, actually.
- 35:17And he's and he's a terrible, terrible husband, horrible
- 35:21husband. Yeah, I mean when you're.
- 35:23Awful father. When you're the type of person
- 35:25that's not too far away from killing children, you're
- 35:28probably not a great husband or father.
- 35:30I have lots of opinions about that, but you said I can't talk
- 35:33about that. It's gonna make me mad,
- 35:34probably, depending on what you say I.
- 35:36Just I just can't talk about it. Let's remember two things.
- 35:41They're made of characters, yes, And they're aliens.
- 35:45It's important to remember those things, OK?
- 35:49It helps. It helps a little bit.
- 35:51Well, I mean. Depending on what you're going
- 35:52to say, that's going to upset me.
- 35:55So, OK, OK, so then in the in the last one they introduce for
- 36:01the first time female as the lead you.
- 36:06Mean the last trilogy, yeah. OK.
- 36:08And, and this one is most current in the timeline and most
- 36:12recently released because it comes after all of that stuff.
- 36:17She's the granddaughter of Emperor Palpatine.
- 36:23Spoiler alert. Again, these movies are It's a
- 36:27spoiler alert that if you were going to watch it by now, you
- 36:30would have watched it by now. OK, well these aren't six months
- 36:33old. They're years and years old
- 36:35anyway. Just saying.
- 36:37Yeah, we're just spoiling it all.
- 36:40And she goes through a similar journey, you know, which is she
- 36:47lives on a deserty planet, she doesn't know who her real
- 36:51parents are. She finds out she has powers.
- 36:57She ends up going on a little Jedi journey type thing.
- 37:02And and then the bad guys of that one are like a former Jedi
- 37:09turns dark side. And also there's like a new dark
- 37:14Lord situation and all of that, you know, turns to be, you know,
- 37:24they're doing sort of the same might.
- 37:25They're trying to create an empire and subjugate the Galaxy.
- 37:29And she's got this hero arc that puts her in front of all of that
- 37:34business. And ultimately, obviously, she
- 37:38ends up winning the fight, but in not quite a super expected
- 37:46way. That's where we learned to Sith
- 37:49had a planet when she goes there to sort of confront the one, but
- 37:55ends up sort of confronting them all anyway.
- 38:00It's wild. So the reason I love the Star
- 38:04Wars movies is that it's told a really big story in a but in a
- 38:10like a relatable way such that it's probably the best selling
- 38:20movie franchise ever. It also introduced, sort of to
- 38:28the world, the the big budget space opera movie that hadn't
- 38:35quite been delivered yet. It was in the era of the
- 38:40original blockbusters before the movie chain rental chain
- 38:44blockbuster Jaws was the original Blockbuster.
- 38:49Did you know that? So today, nothing to do with
- 38:52Jaws or anything, but we were driving in Saint Paul City that
- 38:58we live near and out front in somebody's yard was this huge
- 39:06statue of a shark. Statue.
- 39:12Yeah, I should. Take a statue.
- 39:14A statue with blood and everything coming out of it and
- 39:18it had still, I mean it's, it's clearly was a Christmas
- 39:21decoration 'cause it still had a tinsel ring around it.
- 39:25It was huge. I would say 5 feet tall.
- 39:27I'm next time I drive by it I'll take a picture.
- 39:30Interested. Yeah yeah.
- 39:32I was like that's it was so epic because it like I yeah, I I
- 39:37don't know so I'm sure it's probably somewhere Googleable
- 39:40shark sculpture in Saint Paul in someone's front yard because I
- 39:44bet you the neighborhood that it's in, it's not necessarily
- 39:47the most appreciated. It's kind of a bougier
- 39:50neighborhood over there in Saint Paul so that's great.
- 39:53I'm sure someone doesn't like it, and I'm sure there wasn't
- 39:57there like, Oh no, I guess it wasn't a landshark.
- 39:59The thing that was sitting in the The desert thing eating
- 40:03people that they would shove down in the thing with the
- 40:09Princess Leia when? She was in the Yeah 1 Jabba the
- 40:12Jabba the Hutt, OK. Wasn't wasn't that a shark or
- 40:17something down there in the OK, All right, well.
- 40:21Just a giant sand worm, maybe you call it.
- 40:25I don't know what you'd call it, but it it ate OK anyway, so I
- 40:33don't know. That explains my love of Star
- 40:35Wars. It tells a huge story.
- 40:37It delivered it in a new way to the masses.
- 40:40It's got a huge amount of reach and influence.
- 40:44It's for sure easily one of the best film franchises of all time
- 40:50to me, no doubt. OK.
- 40:52And so, Amber, let me ask you a question.
- 40:55Oh, in this corner over here we have Luke Wing in a 185 Sporting
- 41:02A. Give or take.
- 41:04Give or take a freshly trimmed beard, yeah.
- 41:07Way too short. I think it looks nice are.
- 41:11You on it shorter, no? No, I didn't.
- 41:13Whoa. You.
- 41:14OK, anyhow, he has got the rankings of again.
- 41:20We're still at 8 ties which is great.
- 41:22No, it's not. He's won eight, which is great.
- 41:25This is so bad. And he's lost 14.
- 41:29We still have I. Just don't know what I did to
- 41:32deserve this. I I mean, according to our
- 41:36scientific discovery, the answer is what you did was you were
- 41:42wrong. It's tough.
- 41:44Yeah, that's a hard pill to swallow.
- 41:46I have a feeling I could lose this one today.
- 41:50It doesn't matter what the question is.
- 41:52I've already cancelled myself from a few people according to
- 41:55just very simple statements and I'm sure I will light it up more
- 42:00with whatever I say next because I don't know what the great
- 42:04question is. Yes, you do.
- 42:06Do I? OK.
- 42:08Yeah, well, we talked about a few.
- 42:09OK, here we go. All right.
- 42:12What is your favorite Star Wars movie?
- 42:16Oh gosh, there is so many to choose from.
- 42:22There's 9. 9 movies. So you know, it's, it's, it's
- 42:26hard to pick a favorite from these movies.
- 42:32I've seen six of them, so I feel like I'm not going to pick any
- 42:37of the ones I haven't seen. So weird that you haven't seen
- 42:40the last three. It's not that weird, but since I
- 42:46haven't seen the last three, I feel like I would have nothing
- 42:50to really fight about why I like them, except for maybe if I'm
- 42:53like, whoa, it's over. But I'm gonna say I didn't like
- 43:02the first one that was released at all.
- 43:06That started the whole world of Star Wars.
- 43:08And I know that that's awful to say.
- 43:12I didn't like the third one at all because I didn't like
- 43:21Anakin's character with Queen Amidala.
- 43:24I thought it was really wrong. I thought. 4th 1.
- 43:28No, that's that's episode 3. OK.
- 43:32You're doing the so I thought you were talking about when they
- 43:35were released. You said the first.
- 43:37One over. Yes, the first one when I said
- 43:39it. Released, which was episode 4.
- 43:42Right, so I didn't like episode 4.
- 43:44OK. Which was the first one released
- 43:47in whatever 7? You didn't like episode 3?
- 43:50I didn't like episode 3. When Anakin really turned to the
- 43:53dark side. 'Cause he's like a terrible
- 43:56person. And I just thought it was like,
- 43:59it's true. I really didn't like his
- 44:01character at all. I think that he was horrible to
- 44:05his woman who should have had way more power and way more say,
- 44:10like, if I were her, I'd have locked him up and been like,
- 44:12dude, you're done. You're done.
- 44:15There is nothing good coming out of you.
- 44:17I can see the evil in you, you know.
- 44:20But she didn't do that. Question was favorite.
- 44:24I know but I OK but to get. There, OK, OK.
- 44:27To get there, I have to get rid of the ones first that maybe
- 44:32were kind of big deals, right? I feel like those two were kind
- 44:36of a big deal movies, right? Sure.
- 44:39The first one it was okay. I mean, you had a little kid
- 44:42running around Episode 1, which would have been the 4th one
- 44:47released, right? You had a little kid running
- 44:49around, you know, you had the guy who Liam Neeson played and
- 44:55he was kind of a good actor in that one.
- 44:57You also had Ewan McGregor kind of OK, not my favorite, but like
- 45:02it was OK, young, seeing young Obi Wan Kenobi.
- 45:06You know, one of those was young Obi Wan Kenobi, and I don't
- 45:09remember which one. I think maybe Ewan McGregor.
- 45:12I think so, no. Wait, young Obi Wan?
- 45:14Yes. That's yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 45:16And I kind of, I mean, who doesn't really like Obi Wan
- 45:18Kenobi? So kind of seeing him to start
- 45:21off and not being the know it all in the beginning, like not
- 45:24having that sage and that one. So anyhow, I thought that one
- 45:27was OK. I don't remember what episode 2
- 45:32was about. I don't remember too much about
- 45:35it, but I betcha Anakin like kind of grew up in Episode 2.
- 45:40So but I, I think that probably Queen Amidala had a pretty big
- 45:44thing, but it's still not my favorite.
- 45:47The last one, which was episode of the six that I saw OK, which
- 45:54was episode 6. No.
- 45:57No. 1456 came out first right? 123 came out second.
- 46:04So episode 6, Return of the Jedi, is that episode 6?
- 46:10OK, I didn't really care for that one much either.
- 46:16So I'm gonna go with the one I guess I would like the most.
- 46:21I've I know I missed one in there, but it just means I don't
- 46:24remember it. That's OK.
- 46:25And that's going to be episode five, The Empire Strikes Back.
- 46:32OK, now the reason I like that movie is all of these, the
- 46:42others, Oh God, I'm going to get cancelled right here.
- 46:45We're a little cheesy and kind of like wraps some things up
- 46:50nice enough that you're like, cool, if I saw that one.
- 46:54I'm fine, you know, like I, I know enough of what I need to
- 46:57know, right? But Episode 5 I like because not
- 47:03only like is that where the greatest, most well known Star
- 47:08Wars phrase came from, right? Which you've heard your whole
- 47:12life a million times over, even though it's a misquote, you
- 47:18know, Luke, I am your father, which is a misquote.
- 47:22I know this cause I've heard you say that, but that's where that
- 47:26came from, you know, where Luke was like, oh, I mean, I didn't
- 47:30know my dad. He's awful, you know, and he and
- 47:34he learned that and I thought that that was kind of an
- 47:36interesting bit of discovery for him that this evil man he had
- 47:40been fighting was his own father all along, this man who wanted
- 47:45to kidnap this hot Princess who ended up being his sister.
- 47:49I don't know if we learned that in this movie.
- 47:51Doesn't really matter, but you know, like, like that evil man
- 47:56being his father. I thought that was kind of a
- 47:57good little, you know, flip of the script there for you.
- 48:01That doesn't happen too often where it's like a big shocker,
- 48:04you know? And then also, I liked how I
- 48:08didn't hot take. I don't really care for Han
- 48:11Solo. So I thought it was pretty great
- 48:13that they just threw him in a carbon thing and stuck him there
- 48:16and they said you're on timeout. I was fine with that.
- 48:19But what I think the best part of the whole movie is at the
- 48:22end, the very end, where Luke's just flying off into space.
- 48:28Nobody knows what's going to happen.
- 48:30The Empire is kind of ruling everything, and they're all just
- 48:33kind of sitting there in doom and gloom.
- 48:36And the reason, I know that sounds weird, but you know what?
- 48:39That just seems so reflective of life frequently where you're
- 48:42like, I guess I'm just going to have to do whatever the next
- 48:46right thing is, and it's probably not going to make any
- 48:49bit of a difference in this world or universe that I'm
- 48:53flying off to, but I'll just be here even though everything's
- 48:57bonkers around me. So I like it, and I like a
- 49:01cliffhanger. I like a untidy ending a lot.
- 49:05In general. If it's a movie with the untidy
- 49:08ending, it automatically gives it additional like points for
- 49:14me. So I liked how it ended and I
- 49:16was like, perfect, I don't need to see it anymore.
- 49:19I don't story's over, we're good.
- 49:22And that's why I like that. Episode 5.
- 49:24Will you watch four more? Oh.
- 49:26My God, I didn't. OK, OK, it's because I love a
- 49:30man named Luke in my life. I don't like Luke Skywalker.
- 49:36I actually really dislike Luke Skywalker, but I.
- 49:38Oh my God with the cancellations.
- 49:41I like this Luke, and this Luke loves Star Wars, and so I
- 49:46watched the other four because it was important to you.
- 49:52But I'd have been fine being done on that second one.
- 49:55And you haven't watched the last three.
- 49:56What does that say? I mean, says you found someone
- 50:00else to watch Star Wars with. Oh, my goodness gracious.
- 50:05So there you go. I think that was the best one.
- 50:07And tell me what 1 is more momentous than that?
- 50:11Oh, OK, well it's hard for me to pick a favorite.
- 50:17As you can tell I really enjoy all the Star Wars's.
- 50:21Mm hmm. Mm hmm.
- 50:24I I am huh? You should watch the last one
- 50:31because you might like the last one.
- 50:39Does it end in doom and gloom and unhappiness?
- 50:41I mean, it's not tidy. OK, well, maybe.
- 50:47I mean, it's tidy in a way, but it's not like anyway.
- 50:52Luke dies in the end, doesn't he?
- 50:55He's dead in episode, I think. Is it the?
- 51:03Yeah, it's. Doesn't like Raya?
- 51:05Kill him or. Something no, I think it's in
- 51:07is. That her name. 7.
- 51:11Is it Raya? Ray.
- 51:13Oh, I'm thinking of the other Raya with the Dragons.
- 51:17Oh yeah, because that's almost the same movie.
- 51:20It's. Pretty similar.
- 51:21Wow. No, it's not.
- 51:23Strong female. Character not Are you in close?
- 51:26Oh my God, just you can't. That's way too loose of a
- 51:30correlation. I have that's.
- 51:34So many movies. Oh, but she wasn't a desert E
- 51:37thing. Can I talk?
- 51:38Yes, you. Can.
- 51:39OK, that'd be great. OK.
- 51:42So I think my favorite is probably Episode 6, which would
- 51:52have been the third one to come out.
- 51:54Chronologically speaking. It's the one right after the one
- 51:58you picked. Yeah, I have liked all of the
- 52:03trilogy's my favorite, probably mostly for nostalgic reasons and
- 52:11because it was the first one and because it was created for
- 52:16whatever reason. It's the ones that its creator
- 52:18George Lucas decided to pick episodes 4-5 and six because for
- 52:24whatever reason, he knew that he was going to have more story.
- 52:29I would like to just brief sidebar.
- 52:31How cool is it that you have a filmmaker who decides they're
- 52:35going to make a film trilogy and they're going to start in the
- 52:37middle? I think that's kind of cool just
- 52:40on its own. So to your, to your claim, the
- 52:44whole thing is a little bit untidy, like on purpose, because
- 52:50George Lucas in his brain knew and has been interviewed and
- 52:54said many times, he always had the ideas of what would come
- 52:59before and what would come after, but he never made them.
- 53:03Well, he did make the sorry, he did make 1-2 and three, but he
- 53:07didn't make them for like 25 years or something like that
- 53:11'cause, you know, the studios didn't want to pay for it.
- 53:13So the middle is a little bit untidy just because it's in the
- 53:16middle. And I think the reason that the
- 53:20the finale of that trilogy, the Return of the Jedi is my
- 53:30favorite because it it wraps up most of the story that you've
- 53:38been introduced to that point. So you get to see Luke Skywalker
- 53:43as the full blown Jedi, which for me was really cool.
- 53:48You get to see would the thing you said about you can't be a
- 53:55good person if you do one good thing.
- 53:59OK, I I just to just to say the story of redemption is a
- 54:09powerful story. There's a reason that it's in
- 54:13all the stories. And Darth Vader, before he dies,
- 54:22finds redemption from, well, basically the efforts of his son
- 54:30Luke Skywalker. Because Darth Vader is the
- 54:35reason that the Emperor is overthrown.
- 54:38Not killed 'cause he comes back, but overthrown.
- 54:43See. Untidy.
- 54:44Maybe you should have watched more so and and the amount of
- 54:54like struggle that you see, like you've got a a guy that
- 54:59essentially was seduced by dark magic break free of that spell.
- 55:09Sort of you get to see that. And by his tossing the emperor
- 55:15down the whatever that thing was, I had a mineshaft space
- 55:22exit, whatever the heck. And the thing in the spaceship
- 55:24that he fell down at the end of episode 6 or near the end of
- 55:28episode 6 is, I mean, it's it's, it's hugely good.
- 55:37Like it's not just one small act of good.
- 55:39Like he's cutting the head off of the snake.
- 55:43Like the emperor goes and the empire falls.
- 55:46That's what happens and he himself dies shortly thereafter.
- 55:52Now the other reason that I like episode 6 is because Ewoks and
- 56:00they are fantastic and actually integral to the story and that
- 56:05the Jedi won because. They're like the little Care
- 56:08Bears or whatever they are. Yeah, the cute little, their
- 56:11little cute language and their tree houses and it's great and
- 56:17they're, they're helping the empire and I think that that
- 56:24they were awesome. You also get to see the good or
- 56:30the best parts of Han Solo 'cause he's like fully part of
- 56:36the rebellion at that point. And he actually is, you know,
- 56:45doing things that aren't selfish, which is what most of
- 56:47his character was for the first couple of movies.
- 56:52And and it gives you that sort of what you're hoping for in a
- 56:58movie like that. It gives you that story where
- 57:02through impossible odds, that even even the the smallest
- 57:09chance is worth taking for the greater good.
- 57:14I'm just going to say I like. Now is when you interrupt me now
- 57:20like this moment. OK, let's.
- 57:23Yeah. What do you want to say now?
- 57:25Thanks. I'm just going to say I liked
- 57:28him better in Indiana Jones and Star Wars.
- 57:31OK, Next time maybe just keep that to the side.
- 57:34So what I'm saying now is very important and I want even you to
- 57:39hear it. So try listening.
- 57:40So the reason I like Episode 6 is because it gives proof to the
- 57:47message that hope is worth it, that matters.
- 57:54And that's, that's what made Star Wars the sensation that it
- 58:00was, is that there can be an overpowering oppressive force
- 58:09that can't possibly lose with huge power, big weapons,
- 58:18sprawling empire, political systems, all kinds of different
- 58:23systems and spread out across the whole Galaxy.
- 58:27And they can lose due to the the fight and hope of a small
- 58:33rebellion that's doing it for reasons that are altruistic.
- 58:37They're out for protecting people.
- 58:41They're out for, you know, love. They're out for, you know, the,
- 58:48the right reasons. I mean, it's it's what you would
- 58:50expect. It's like, why are you, why are
- 58:53you all powerful emperor? Why are you out here just
- 58:57killing people and blowing up planets and stuff?
- 59:01Well, maybe you're wrong. So let's fight and he wins.
- 59:05They win the Jedi win. They shouldn't have won, but
- 59:10they want. And they went through weird
- 59:12chances and lucky breaks and coalitions and, you know, they
- 59:17needed Ewoks and they needed a weird old swamp wizard named
- 59:21Yoda to train Luke Skywalker. And they needed helpers in.
- 59:26And jar jar boots. Sure, they needed helpers in in
- 59:30all kinds of unlooked for places that's actually in a different
- 59:34series and it's not part of episode 6 and it's a prequel,
- 59:38but you know, you could interrupt again, so.
- 59:41I just asked a question. That wasn't a question.
- 59:43Period it was. You're right, it was a
- 59:45statement, but in the time period if if.
- 59:48I mean, who knows how long a jar jar lives, right?
- 59:51Jesus. So.
- 59:53I just let's cut this part out. Yeah, he can't.
- 59:57Oh my goodness, This is the thing that we this is super.
- 1:00:01Important. OK.
- 1:00:03I'm just saying like, how do you know?
- 1:00:05How do you know? You needed the underwater
- 1:00:06people, just like you needed the desert people and you needed the
- 1:00:09tree people. But.
- 1:00:10They weren't in the original trilogy or the movies we're both
- 1:00:15talking about. Right, I get that, I get that,
- 1:00:19but it was episode. They're part of a different arc.
- 1:00:21But this? That's episode 6.
- 1:00:23OMD. It's all interrelated and Obi
- 1:00:29Wan Kenobi saw them all. That's not true.
- 1:00:33He died in the first of the original movies.
- 1:00:37But. Yeah, he died in episode 4.
- 1:00:41Smiling with the old dead dead Darth Vader dad too.
- 1:00:44Yeah, when he's a ghost, yeah, he's like, oh, good job.
- 1:00:48Death cannot stop. Us.
- 1:00:50Oh my goodness. OK, well, somewhere in there,
- 1:00:55let's just say I wrap my argument.
- 1:00:57We're a little long in the tooth.
- 1:00:58We are done. Thank you for the valuably
- 1:01:01placed interjections. You're welcome.
- 1:01:04I mean, you didn't really. I mean, I'm like here, I'm about
- 1:01:08to stop. I'm about to get choked up
- 1:01:11talking about hope and. And I'm like what?
- 1:01:13Love. And you're like, you know,
- 1:01:15Indiana Jones was fine. Great.
- 1:01:17Movie. Great movie.
- 1:01:18Who those? Were great.
- 1:01:21I like those. Those were probably I like those
- 1:01:23way better. I'm super glad that you've
- 1:01:25interjected even more. OK, so the question has been
- 1:01:32asked and the question has been answered.
- 1:01:35Yeah, yeah. The question of.
- 1:01:37What's better, Star Wars or Indiana?
- 1:01:39Jones. Nope.
- 1:01:40It was Star Wars or Star Wars. Yeah, episode.
- 1:01:43But you know what? I will put this out there if
- 1:01:45anybody wants to vote for Indiana Jones.
- 1:01:48I mean, you can. I feel like that's probably not
- 1:01:51a vote for Amber so. Indiana Jones wouldn't be a vote
- 1:01:54for me. Definitely not, because that's
- 1:01:56not the question. You don't get to pick multiple.
- 1:01:58But I like Indiana Jones. Thank you.
- 1:01:59That's good. So you like Harrison Ford Cool.
- 1:02:03Blade Runner? No.
- 1:02:04Didn't see it. Oh, it's pretty good.
- 1:02:06Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:02:07Critically acclaimed even. I wasn't he an Air Force One or
- 1:02:10something? Sometimes I like him, sometimes.
- 1:02:12I like him, he was in a lot of movies.
- 1:02:15Been a movie star for like 50 years.
- 1:02:17I had a big career. Sure did.
- 1:02:19I mean I would say he might be an A list celebrity.
- 1:02:22That's fair. I don't know, ever.
- 1:02:24Currently starring in a TV series that's won a bunch of
- 1:02:27awards. Really.
- 1:02:28What's it called? Shrinking.
- 1:02:30Shrinking. I'm going to guess it's about a
- 1:02:33therapist. So folks, how you vote for us is
- 1:02:36on the Spotify app. That would be great.
- 1:02:39You could also comment on any of our social medias.
