  Today, we begin a very special journey, a special week. We're calling this a

  theme week, Christmas Hope Week, Peace on earth, the joy within us.

  A week designed to bring calm to your spirit, warmth to your heart,

  and encouragement to your soul.

  You know, we hear the word peace everywhere this time of year.

  Peace on earth, peace to all, silent night, holy night, all is calm.

  But if we're being honest, sometimes life doesn't feel calm.

  Sometimes we feel rushed or stretched thin or overwhelmed by responsibilities,

  expectations, and all the pressures December brings.

  This is why today's message matters so much.

  The very first Christmas announcement ever made to humanity wasn't about fear.

  It wasn't about punishment.
• 1:43
  It wasn't about stress. It was about peace.

  In Luke 2, verse 14, Glory to God in the highest And on earth Peace,

  goodwill toward men Think about that Heaven could have spoken anything Justice,

  correction, warnings But instead, heaven spoke peace This means peace is not

  something we earn It's something God gives It's something God desires for us,

  Let me share something personal with you. When I think of peace,

  I remember a moment years ago.

  I was going through something very heavy, something that kept me up at night.
• 2:28
  You ever have one of those seasons where your mind doesn't want to slow down?

  I remember walking outside with my dog, Buster B, one evening,
• 2:39
  and I felt as if the world was so quiet.
• 2:42
  The snow had just fallen. and you know how snow kind of absorbs sound?

  Everything felt still. I stopped, took a breath, and in that still moment,
• 2:55
  I felt God whisper into my heart, peace, I've got this.

  It wasn't loud. It wasn't dramatic.

  It wasn't a big emotional explosion. It was a simple stillness,

  a warmth in the middle of the cold night i

  remember oh just remember

  wow that god was with me and you know and from that moment on even though my
• 3:24
  situation didn't immediately change i changed my spirit calmed my heart slowed

  and i felt at peace i felt peace settling in.

  Peace doesn't mean anything in particular. Peace doesn't mean everything is perfect.

  Let me put it that way. Peace doesn't mean you never feel stress.

  Peace doesn't mean you never face challenges. Peace is the presence of God in the challenge.

  Peace is knowing even when things are uncertain, God is still steady.

  Peace is understanding that you don't have to control everything because He already does.

  So today, on this first day of our themed Christmas Hope Week,

  I want to invite you to do something.

  Let God speak peace into your heart, right where you are.

  You don't need a perfect situation. You don't need a silent night.

  You don't need everything to be calm.
• 4:32
  You just need to open your heart and let him whisper peace over you.

  Because here is the truth.

  God's peace is stronger than anything trying to unsettle you.

  God's peace is deeper than anything trying to shake you. God's peace is a gift freely given.

  Jesus didn't just promise peace. He left it with us.

  So it's yours today. It's yours for the season. It's yours for whatever you're facing.

  So as we begin this beautiful Christmas Hope Week, heaven spoke peace over you.

  Heaven still speaks peace today.

  And today, God invites you to breathe, to rest, to receive his gift of peace.
