- 0:04SPEAKER_04: You gotta let things go.
- 0:06SPEAKER_04: It it it is what it is right now.
- 0:08SPEAKER_04: The tea is where it's at.
- 0:09SPEAKER_04: The real estate is where it's at.
- 0:10SPEAKER_04: Like, just keep your head down, keep working, but take a break.
- 0:14SPEAKER_04: Take a breath.
- 0:15SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 0:16SPEAKER_04: Yes, it's okay.
- 0:17SPEAKER_04: You don't have to be running 99 miles a minute.
- 0:20SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 0:20SPEAKER_04: If you take a day, you'll probably be a hundred million times better.
- 0:37SPEAKER_02: Been doing real estate first technology for a while, and I, you know, you don't think about it.
- 0:43SPEAKER_02: And before you know it, I had a guy, he hit me up.
- 0:45SPEAKER_02: He's like, uh, I would love to be on your show.
- 0:47SPEAKER_02: And I'm like, okay.
- 0:48SPEAKER_02: Guys from like um Canada.
- 0:50SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 0:51SPEAKER_02: So he flies out from Canada.
- 0:52SPEAKER_02: I guess his mom's in Scottsdale.
- 0:54SPEAKER_02: He's been watching a show for four or five years.
- 0:57SPEAKER_02: Come to find out, he watches every single week, loves the show, and he felt compelled to get out of his own self-learning beliefs or ways and came on.
- 1:08SPEAKER_02: And he said it was an amazing experience and all the type of stuff.
- 1:11SPEAKER_02: And it was funny because today, Jet, she's amazing.
- 1:14SPEAKER_02: She's absolutely amazing.
- 1:15SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna give a big shout-out to her.
- 1:16SPEAKER_02: This is this is for Jet.
- 1:17SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:18SPEAKER_02: Welcome, everyone.
- 1:18SPEAKER_02: Welcome.
- 1:19SPEAKER_02: Hello.
- 1:20SPEAKER_02: If you haven't already uh seen Susan's other episode of Realty First Technology that we were just talking about, and like I said, this is a casual conversation.
- 1:28SPEAKER_02: This is not, we we just have fun here.
- 1:30SPEAKER_02: And so I was like, okay, so I Jet does everything, she follows up, whatever.
- 1:35SPEAKER_02: And I was looking, and Craig is his name, and um I thought he wanted to be on this show, but then he's like, no, I want to learn more about what's going on with the lift-off agent side.
- 1:44SPEAKER_02: And then I was talking to my wife on a run before I sent you that message, uh, voice memo.
- 1:49SPEAKER_02: I think setting intentions is so important before you do anything, right?
- 1:53SPEAKER_02: Like it was very helpful.
- 1:54SPEAKER_02: Was it?
- 1:55SPEAKER_02: Yeah, 100%.
- 1:56SPEAKER_02: Okay, cool, cool, cool.
- 1:57SPEAKER_02: Fantastic, fantastic.
- 1:58SPEAKER_02: And so um, so he's like, Yeah, I would love to learn more, blah, blah, blah.
- 2:01SPEAKER_02: So I was like, dude, that's so cool.
- 2:02SPEAKER_02: I almost want to tell Smith he's in Boston.
- 2:05SPEAKER_02: His wife wants to do lobster rolls.
- 2:07SPEAKER_02: She's like, I want lobster rolls.
- 2:08SPEAKER_02: Let's go to Boston.
- 2:09SPEAKER_02: So this month they're in Boston, next month they're going to Korea.
- 2:12SPEAKER_02: Her dad's turning 70.
- 2:13SPEAKER_02: Oh my gosh.
- 2:14SPEAKER_02: And so, yeah, so he's he's living the he's living his best life.
- 2:17SPEAKER_02: Living the best life.
- 2:18SPEAKER_02: That's just like your kids, yes, which we talked about last show.
- 2:20SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 2:21SPEAKER_02: Um, and so, so yeah, so I told Jed, I said, hey, I want to help you.
- 2:25SPEAKER_02: Because in the Philippines, they don't make a lot.
- 2:27SPEAKER_02: And um, we start them off at like um about five dollars an hour, but we we speed them up really quick.
- 2:33SPEAKER_02: So some of our top team members on the website are like 2,500 plus a month.
- 2:37SPEAKER_02: So they're making really good money.
- 2:39SPEAKER_02: And so this week, I said, okay, by next week, I gave her a new process.
- 2:42SPEAKER_02: She I said, I'm gonna do all the calls, you do the rest.
- 2:45SPEAKER_02: You do the follow-up, you do the social, the liking, the commenting, everything.
- 2:49SPEAKER_02: And uh, it was two days ago.
- 2:52SPEAKER_02: They're now all in the Philippines together.
- 2:54SPEAKER_02: And uh, you know what?
- 2:55SPEAKER_02: She told me to show this to you.
- 2:57SPEAKER_02: This is hilarious.
- 2:58SPEAKER_02: Oh my gosh.
- 2:59SPEAKER_02: Let's go.
- 2:59SPEAKER_02: I don't want to do that.
- 3:00SPEAKER_02: Let's keep that there.
- 3:01SPEAKER_02: I gotta be like, what phone are we on?
- 3:02SPEAKER_02: So let's keep the airplay going.
- 3:04SPEAKER_02: I can't even get out of the airplay on this phone, or that goes away.
- 3:07SPEAKER_02: Um, so she's like, Hey, send uh show this picture to Susan when she gets on the show today.
- 3:13SPEAKER_02: I was like, Okay.
- 3:14SPEAKER_02: So she sent me a message.
- 3:15SPEAKER_02: We speak via Discord, and so the teams in Baggio, which is like pine or strawberry for us.
- 3:21SPEAKER_02: Okay, they're up north.
- 3:22SPEAKER_02: And so this is gonna be so frame of reference.
- 3:26SPEAKER_02: So this is that's Jet and her husband right there.
- 3:29SPEAKER_02: Oh no, isn't it fun to put an I'll have to put it on screen?
- 3:34SPEAKER_02: And then so that's Mark.
- 3:36SPEAKER_02: So Bernadette's been with us for six years.
- 3:38SPEAKER_02: This is her partner, he's our customer success manager, and then you have um in the back here, that's gonna be Sakia and hit and her husband husband.
- 3:48SPEAKER_02: She's in social, and then and then you have on the front, the two girls in the front, that's gonna be Mara and that's gonna be uh Regina.
- 3:55SPEAKER_02: They're both in the social department.
- 3:56SPEAKER_04: Oh my gosh.
- 3:57SPEAKER_02: So um that's just some of them.
- 3:59SPEAKER_02: So we have 22 on staff, and 90% of our team are gonna all be, and the company pays for everything, in Airbnb the whole weekend, just enjoying each other, having fun.
- 4:09SPEAKER_02: And they're all together now?
- 4:11SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, besides the web team, because one of our team members lives in Japan.
- 4:16SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 4:16SPEAKER_02: So she's come from Japan to the Philippines, and then and then earlier this year we took the team leads.
- 4:21SPEAKER_02: We have uh four team leads, technically five team leads now.
- 4:25SPEAKER_02: We took them over to uh Japan and and then we had one of our team members over there, so we all got together.
- 4:30SPEAKER_02: It was a lot of fun.
- 4:31SPEAKER_04: That is so fun.
- 4:32SPEAKER_04: Yeah, how fun would it be to work for you?
- 4:34SPEAKER_04: Uh I was like, now you you don't you don't reach out to my meme.
- 4:38SPEAKER_04: No, no, no, no.
- 4:39SPEAKER_04: I can't don't touch my meme.
- 4:41SPEAKER_02: She's watching this, she's like, hey now.
- 4:42SPEAKER_02: I'm like, no, no.
- 4:43SPEAKER_02: But I think that it should be more of fun.
- 4:47SPEAKER_02: I feel like the corporate model has been so stuffy for so long.
- 4:51SPEAKER_02: And I was talking to Vitz, and she's our uh chief operations officer.
- 4:55SPEAKER_02: She's helping out with billing and HR, and she was like, she's like my other half in the Philippines.
- 4:59SPEAKER_02: She's six and a half years with us.
- 5:01SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 5:01SPEAKER_02: And she's like, I really appreciate everything you're doing and how you're helping and all the things.
- 5:05SPEAKER_02: And I said, I said, Vitz, I said, I worked Costco, I worked monument park parts, I worked Champ Sports, I sold sneakers, I did all the things.
- 5:12SPEAKER_02: I was never seen as an asset.
- 5:14SPEAKER_02: Keep your head down, just do your job, just keep working.
- 5:17SPEAKER_02: I hate that.
- 5:17SPEAKER_02: So I said, I said, this is a way for me to show you that we all can serve, we can all support, we can all help.
- 5:23SPEAKER_02: I just had a crazy idea that turned out to work well.
- 5:26SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 5:26SPEAKER_02: And now you all are gonna be working as CEOs of of your own, and then I'm showing you the way so you can be able to then make more, earn more, serve more, and that's what they're own.
- 5:35SPEAKER_04: That's so great.
- 5:37SPEAKER_04: I was gonna say it's so great.
- 5:38SPEAKER_04: And I like I say, Mimi, if you're watching this.
- 5:42SPEAKER_02: You're going to the Philippines?
- 5:44SPEAKER_04: I'm gonna go see you in the Philippines.
- 5:46SPEAKER_04: Or I'll bring you to me, okay?
- 5:47SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 5:48SPEAKER_02: Hey, we'll be there.
- 5:49SPEAKER_02: Um, we're going first quarter, end of February.
- 5:53SPEAKER_02: So you wanna go to the Philippines?
- 5:54SPEAKER_02: I've got a oh my god.
- 5:57SPEAKER_02: Let's put it out in the exit, let's put it out in the universe.
- 5:59SPEAKER_04: Let's just put it out there.
- 6:00SPEAKER_04: Let's just say this.
- 6:00SPEAKER_04: I'm gonna go with you guys to the Philippines.
- 6:03SPEAKER_04: Let's just put it out there.
- 6:04SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 6:05SPEAKER_02: Okay, so this is interesting.
- 6:07SPEAKER_02: So we're gonna go week one, we're gonna go to Korea and we're gonna bring the entire company there.
- 6:11SPEAKER_02: Week two, I'm going back with my team to the Philippines with my wife and my daughter.
- 6:16SPEAKER_02: My mom's ever been, my aunt's ever been.
- 6:18SPEAKER_02: My aunt's actually relocating rent now to Arizona.
- 6:22SPEAKER_02: She's actually buying my um father-in-law's mobile.
- 6:25SPEAKER_02: He's in 55 Plus Park.
- 6:26SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 6:27SPEAKER_02: So they just did off-deal, just kind of work together on it, owner finance.
- 6:31SPEAKER_02: And so she's coming out, and it was interesting.
- 6:35SPEAKER_02: My wife said, Oh my God, Susan reminds me of kind of like your mom and your aunt, and they're going.
- 6:41SPEAKER_02: Oh.
- 6:42SPEAKER_02: So they're gonna fly out the second week to meet us.
- 6:45SPEAKER_02: So maybe you can fly with my aunt.
- 6:46SPEAKER_04: I was gonna say, fly out the second week.
- 6:48SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 6:48SPEAKER_02: My aunt and my mom.
- 6:49SPEAKER_02: They're uh my mom's uh 62, 63.
- 6:52SPEAKER_02: My aunt just turned 70, but she'll do 30-mile bike rides, she's in great shape.
- 6:57SPEAKER_04: You know what?
- 6:57SPEAKER_02: Age is just a number.
- 6:59SPEAKER_02: Oh my god.
- 6:59SPEAKER_02: I don't even believe that shit.
- 7:00SPEAKER_04: Well, I was gonna say, my parents are 80 years old and they could run circles around all three of us girls.
- 7:05SPEAKER_04: Yes, a hundred percent.
- 7:07SPEAKER_02: I honestly think like I don't subscribe to the age thing anymore.
- 7:11SPEAKER_02: And I I say that from the perspective of I feel like when you subscribe to it, it's like almost like a disease in itself.
- 7:17SPEAKER_04: It totally stops you.
- 7:19SPEAKER_02: It stops you.
- 7:20SPEAKER_04: And listen to this, this is so funny.
- 7:22SPEAKER_04: So the other day I was down in Anthem at Merrill Ranch.
- 7:24SPEAKER_04: Okay, and we were doing videos and getting ready because I have a property coming up, and in the big pool, you know, it's got big pools and slides and all the things.
- 7:32SPEAKER_04: And there was this group of older women that were in the pool doing their water aerobics.
- 7:35SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 7:36SPEAKER_04: And so I said to my photographer, I looked at him and I said, You know what?
- 7:42SPEAKER_04: When I'm 55, I am a hundred percent gonna be living in one of these communities and I'm gonna be doing water aerobics in the morning.
- 7:49SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 7:50SPEAKER_04: And then I stopped and I looked at him and I was like, Oh my god, that's next year.
- 7:55SPEAKER_03: No way.
- 7:56SPEAKER_04: You look great.
- 7:57SPEAKER_04: Oh, thank you.
- 7:58SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I'll be 55.
- 8:00SPEAKER_04: Wow.
- 8:02SPEAKER_04: And I literally, from the bottom of my heart, in my mind, was thinking, when, which means long down years from now, when I turn 55.
- 8:12SPEAKER_02: Can you relate out there?
- 8:14SPEAKER_04: I'm going to be doing water aerobics.
- 8:16SPEAKER_04: And then I stopped and I looked at him and I was like, oh, next year.
- 8:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 8:20SPEAKER_04: Next year.
- 8:21SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 8:21SPEAKER_04: So anyway, you just gotta keep going.
- 8:25SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 8:25SPEAKER_04: And quit focusing on age.
- 8:27SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 8:28SPEAKER_04: I mean, I am not almost fifty.
- 8:30SPEAKER_04: I am not in, I always say I'm not in the fives.
- 8:32SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 8:33SPEAKER_04: I'm not in the fives.
- 8:34SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 8:34SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 8:35SPEAKER_02: You want me to blow your mind?
- 8:36SPEAKER_02: Go.
- 8:37SPEAKER_02: All right, here we go.
- 8:38SPEAKER_02: So apparently there is the 12-month cycle of the calendar.
- 8:44SPEAKER_02: They say that's incorrect.
- 8:46SPEAKER_02: They said it's actually 13 months.
- 8:48SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 8:49SPEAKER_02: So if you were to say, and we'll just have a game here.
- 8:51SPEAKER_02: So just have some fun.
- 8:52SPEAKER_02: What do we have to lose?
- 8:53SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 8:54SPEAKER_02: So if we take 13 and we divide it by, say, 54.
- 9:00SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 9:00SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 9:00SPEAKER_02: Or we do the opposite, 54 divided by 13, that's what, four?
- 9:05SPEAKER_02: So technically, you would be four years younger than you are.
- 9:10SPEAKER_02: Absolutely.
- 9:11SPEAKER_02: And I looked it up.
- 9:12SPEAKER_02: So if you look up uh, let's see here, 13-month calendar.
- 9:16SPEAKER_02: So I didn't know this.
- 9:17SPEAKER_02: I was like, okay, look, what does it even look like?
- 9:19SPEAKER_02: What does it even look like?
- 9:20SPEAKER_02: So it goes like this, which is very interesting.
- 9:23SPEAKER_02: And the 13-month calendar, it says uh most frequently known as the international fixed count calendar.
- 9:30SPEAKER_02: So I guess it's an international fixed calendar.
- 9:32SPEAKER_02: Uh calendar, uh, reform propose, I guess I don't know, they changed it for some reason.
- 9:37SPEAKER_02: But the 13-month calendar, it's still 365 days, but it's an equal part of 28 days divided by 13 months to make up 365 days out of the year.
- 9:48SPEAKER_02: So it's more of, I guess, more even.
- 9:51SPEAKER_02: So instead of having those even like, well, there's 28 days and there's 31 days.
- 9:55SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 9:56SPEAKER_02: So the narrative is that it's supposed to throw off our circadian rhythm, is is the hearsay.
- 10:01SPEAKER_02: So you believe what you wish.
- 10:03SPEAKER_02: So it says April, so the month here, I'm seeing, so I'll just start from the top here.
- 10:09SPEAKER_02: It says April, May, June, month of Seoul, S-O-L.
- 10:14SPEAKER_02: Very interesting.
- 10:15SPEAKER_02: Then it goes July, August, September, October, November, December, January, February, March.
- 10:20SPEAKER_02: So I was like, huh.
- 10:22SPEAKER_02: So I guess I could, I could have started at January, February, whatever, but I'm just going top down.
- 10:26SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 10:26SPEAKER_02: But I guess the one additional month which takes all of the uneven crap throughout the year and just makes another month, which is the soul month.
- 10:35SPEAKER_02: Could you imagine the soul month just be a month off?
- 10:38SPEAKER_04: But how much better would the world be?
- 10:40SPEAKER_04: Just keep that shit.
- 10:42SPEAKER_04: You would be younger.
- 10:43SPEAKER_04: Younger, happier.
- 10:45SPEAKER_02: Happier.
- 10:45SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 10:46SPEAKER_02: Uh less stress.
- 10:47SPEAKER_02: Less stress.
- 10:48SPEAKER_02: Because you don't have to be like, okay, is there 31 days?
- 10:50SPEAKER_02: How many days are there?
- 10:51SPEAKER_02: What's going on?
- 10:52SPEAKER_02: Am I getting paid five times this month or four times this month?
- 10:55SPEAKER_04: Kind of like the the clock where where we don't move the clocks, but everyone else moves the clocks and they're trying to change it to a- That's what I love about Arizona.
- 11:03SPEAKER_04: I I know.
- 11:04SPEAKER_04: I don't move shit.
- 11:05SPEAKER_04: The time messes me up every like, where are we?
- 11:08SPEAKER_04: And then on the calendar, it's over here.
- 11:11SPEAKER_04: And then if I'm then when I was in Kansas City, it's a two-hour time difference.
- 11:16SPEAKER_04: Ah.
- 11:17SPEAKER_04: And I something switched on the calendar.
- 11:19SPEAKER_04: So I was like, oh, it must be it's four o'clock now.
- 11:21SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 11:22SPEAKER_04: Well, it never moved.
- 11:23SPEAKER_04: It was just that I was in a different time zone.
- 11:25SPEAKER_04: But it changed on my calendar.
- 11:27SPEAKER_04: Oh my God.
- 11:28SPEAKER_04: So hilarious.
- 11:29SPEAKER_04: So yeah, I let's simplify things.
- 11:32SPEAKER_04: I think we do.
- 11:33SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 11:33SPEAKER_02: I think we do.
- 11:34SPEAKER_02: I agree.
- 11:34SPEAKER_02: Totally.
- 11:35SPEAKER_02: I honestly think that, like, and that's why I love this platform.
- 11:38SPEAKER_02: Less of a podcast, more of an experience.
- 11:40SPEAKER_02: So we just go deeper into, you know, like challenging the thoughts of what we've been told for so many years.
- 11:47SPEAKER_02: We've been told it's this way and this is how it is.
- 11:49SPEAKER_02: And it's just like, well, is it this way?
- 11:51SPEAKER_02: So, like, I'll give you an example.
- 11:52SPEAKER_02: Um, so Airbnb, state of Arizona, I can't stand the name.
- 11:56SPEAKER_02: Arizona, please change this name.
- 11:58SPEAKER_02: It's called the privilege tax.
- 12:00SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 12:00SPEAKER_02: It's called privilege tax.
- 12:01SPEAKER_02: And you are charged a privilege tax if you are doing a short-term Airbnb rental.
- 12:06SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 12:07SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 12:07SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 12:08SPEAKER_02: So that's one thing.
- 12:09SPEAKER_02: The second thing is that basically you're charged a fee if you are, of course, late to submit your taxes, what have you, which is normal.
- 12:16SPEAKER_02: And but they don't tell you any of this.
- 12:19SPEAKER_02: And so at one CPA, moved to another CPA, the first CPA, every year he always style files for an extension.
- 12:25SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 12:25SPEAKER_02: So he did that.
- 12:26SPEAKER_02: The second one didn't know.
- 12:27SPEAKER_02: And then I got this letter for$500.
- 12:29SPEAKER_02: And I called the state.
- 12:30SPEAKER_02: And I said, hey, you know, uh, you know, first offense, let me know, blah, blah.
- 12:34SPEAKER_02: It's like when you get like a$35 negative fee in your account, right?
- 12:37SPEAKER_02: You call the bank, they just reverse it.
- 12:39SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 12:39SPEAKER_02: She's like, no, we can't reverse it.
- 12:41SPEAKER_02: Uh, you know, you could fill out this form, 1030, blah, blah, blah, whatever else, and and and pay whatever you want.
- 12:46SPEAKER_02: And then they'll say it's okay or if it's not okay.
- 12:48SPEAKER_02: But where's the proactive nature?
- 12:51SPEAKER_02: Like, this is how it works.
- 12:53SPEAKER_02: Just so you know, congratulations, you're a business owner.
- 12:56SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 12:56SPEAKER_02: You have your EIN.
- 12:58SPEAKER_02: Here's your privilege tax.
- 12:59SPEAKER_02: Like, here's all the stuff that you need.
- 13:01SPEAKER_02: Nothing like that.
- 13:02SPEAKER_04: I I don't understand.
- 13:03SPEAKER_02: I I like Could you do that for your client?
- 13:06SPEAKER_02: If you didn't like no, let's not forget.
- 13:10SPEAKER_04: I don't have a business mindset.
- 13:12SPEAKER_04: All of this stuff goes, that's why I have my sister Carrie.
- 13:17SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 13:18SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 13:18SPEAKER_02: No, I wouldn't have a clue.
- 13:19SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 13:20SPEAKER_02: None.
- 13:20SPEAKER_02: It's crazy to me.
- 13:21SPEAKER_02: And then it's just like you want to just enjoy and live your life.
- 13:24SPEAKER_02: And then you're like, what?
- 13:26SPEAKER_04: What is this?
- 13:27SPEAKER_04: I know.
- 13:28SPEAKER_04: And let me tell you something.
- 13:29SPEAKER_04: That's why I'm so thankful, like for Rebecca or for people, because I don't the tax, all that stuff.
- 13:36SPEAKER_04: I I it's too much.
- 13:38SPEAKER_04: I don't get into it.
- 13:39SPEAKER_04: It's too much.
- 13:40SPEAKER_02: It's way too much.
- 13:41SPEAKER_04: It stresses me out.
- 13:42SPEAKER_02: It does.
- 13:42SPEAKER_02: Me too.
- 13:43SPEAKER_02: I just don't enjoy it.
- 13:45SPEAKER_02: Don't like it.
- 13:45SPEAKER_02: It is what it is.
- 13:46SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 13:47SPEAKER_02: Um, but what do you?
- 13:48SPEAKER_02: You just I guess keep have a sister that can Yeah.
- 13:51SPEAKER_04: And you know what?
- 13:52SPEAKER_04: Just keep plugging and hope someone behind you taking care of it.
- 13:56SPEAKER_02: Just keep going.
- 13:57SPEAKER_02: On the things that you want to focus on and not the rest.
- 13:59SPEAKER_02: So so I just want to give some frame of reference.
- 14:01SPEAKER_02: Views and listeners, it's Friday.
- 14:03SPEAKER_02: What's going down?
- 14:04SPEAKER_02: Where are we at right now?
- 14:04SPEAKER_02: So we're at October 9th.
- 14:06SPEAKER_02: And um gosh.
- 14:07SPEAKER_02: We had a show.
- 14:08SPEAKER_02: I know.
- 14:08SPEAKER_02: What the heck?
- 14:09SPEAKER_02: I don't it's wrong.
- 14:11SPEAKER_02: What where are we at?
- 14:12SPEAKER_02: Really?
- 14:12SPEAKER_02: No.
- 14:12SPEAKER_04: Oh, I was gonna say, and I think last year these my neighbors across the street sold their house.
- 14:17SPEAKER_04: And I still keep thinking back to like October, like when they left.
- 14:21SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 14:22SPEAKER_04: And it was a year ago.
- 14:23SPEAKER_04: Wow.
- 14:24SPEAKER_04: But it was just yesterday.
- 14:25SPEAKER_04: It feels like it just blows my mind.
- 14:27SPEAKER_02: 13-month calendar, so like September.
- 14:28SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 14:29SPEAKER_02: Um, so we had Susan before real estate versus technology.
- 14:32SPEAKER_02: Yeah, she actually just went live.
- 14:33SPEAKER_02: She's in real estate.
- 14:34SPEAKER_02: If you want to hear all about her story, real estate, how she got started, all this type of stuff, that's gonna be there.
- 14:39SPEAKER_02: But there's a story in there that I wanted to go deeper on because we were talking about how like you went through a time in your life where literally you lost all mobility, which I was just like, wow.
- 14:50SPEAKER_02: And I think that people out there that have kids or have lots going on and they're just go, go, go, go, go, go.
- 14:57SPEAKER_02: Like, you know, if you don't see the signs, then your body might just say, All right, you're here you go.
- 15:04SPEAKER_02: You're taking a break.
- 15:04SPEAKER_02: You're done.
- 15:05SPEAKER_02: Yep, your brain will shut you down.
- 15:07SPEAKER_02: Right?
- 15:08SPEAKER_02: And we talked about migraines before and and and that type of thing.
- 15:11SPEAKER_02: Um, so I want to go back into your story, and we can start more so from the beginning.
- 15:16SPEAKER_02: Uh, just just to give you have all day.
- 15:19SPEAKER_02: We have time.
- 15:20SPEAKER_02: Time.
- 15:20SPEAKER_02: Hour 45 plus.
- 15:21SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 15:22SPEAKER_02: Um, just because I want to give the viewers and listeners something to relate to, you know, whether it's siblings or stories or whatever, so then they can start to take the information today and then apply it to their own life and for them to be like, oh, okay.
- 15:35SPEAKER_02: And look for their own signs.
- 15:36SPEAKER_02: And maybe before they get to where you were, they know how to navigate that.
- 15:40SPEAKER_02: Or maybe if someone's listening and they are literally can't move because of stress, anxiety, all types of things.
- 15:47SPEAKER_02: We'll get into specifically the story here in a second.
- 15:50SPEAKER_02: Maybe you know, your story will enlighten them to have some inspiration and move forward.
- 15:55SPEAKER_02: So born and raised Arizona?
- 15:58SPEAKER_02: Born and raised in Iowa.
- 16:00SPEAKER_02: Iowa.
- 16:00SPEAKER_02: I just I had a car delivered from Iowa about two months ago.
- 16:04SPEAKER_02: Do you remember what dealership?
- 16:06SPEAKER_02: Uh I do can probably look it up, but I do not.
- 16:09SPEAKER_04: So it's just funny.
- 16:11SPEAKER_04: There's this dealership, like the one in Ankeny, it was called Carl's.
- 16:15SPEAKER_04: Carl's Carl Chevrolet.
- 16:17SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 16:17SPEAKER_04: Okay, okay, okay, okay.
- 16:18SPEAKER_04: But anyway, there's a lot that goes on behind that.
- 16:21SPEAKER_04: It's just a funny story.
- 16:22SPEAKER_04: And then every time my dad, we always talked about my dad, he wanted a red Corvette.
- 16:25SPEAKER_04: And every time we drive by Carl's, he'd say, There's Carl's.
- 16:29SPEAKER_04: Carl.
- 16:29SPEAKER_04: Anyway, it's just kind of funny within our family.
- 16:31SPEAKER_04: But it's Did he ever get his car?
- 16:33SPEAKER_04: Not yet.
- 16:33SPEAKER_04: And he's 80.
- 16:34SPEAKER_02: Are we gonna are we gonna get this for him or what?
- 16:37SPEAKER_04: I think we could, I think we should start a uh event, uh, GoFundMe for my dad to get the red corvette.
- 16:42SPEAKER_04: He let's get Carl his car.
- 16:45SPEAKER_04: Dale, get a car from Carls.
- 16:47SPEAKER_02: Yeah, get a car from Carl.
- 16:49SPEAKER_02: I like that.
- 16:50SPEAKER_02: I like that.
- 16:50SPEAKER_04: Wait, so from Iowa, um uh in Cedar Rapids, and then we ended up moving to Ankeny um my sixth grade year.
- 16:58SPEAKER_04: Okay, and that's just a little, it was a little town at the time outside of Des Moines.
- 17:02SPEAKER_06: Oh, okay.
- 17:03SPEAKER_04: And um, great town.
- 17:05SPEAKER_04: It was great.
- 17:06SPEAKER_04: My dad um uh ran the community state bank.
- 17:10SPEAKER_04: He had two or I think there were two or three banks, and then at my mom did real estate for a while, but then I don't know if it was before or after, she was the high school nurse.
- 17:20SPEAKER_04: So everyone knew her, everyone loved my dad, everyone loved my mom.
- 17:24SPEAKER_04: It was small town, small town, great community, great people, so fun.
- 17:30SPEAKER_02: I mean, that is a vibe though, especially on holidays and birthdays and you know, all the things like that's so cool.
- 17:37SPEAKER_04: Yes, uh it it was so neat, and um it's not a little town anymore, but it was back then, it was so fun.
- 17:44SPEAKER_04: Wow, and I would say my childhood was like perfect.
- 17:51SPEAKER_04: Yeah, and it wasn't just slightly perfect, it was really perfect.
- 17:55SPEAKER_04: And I don't ever I obviously I didn't realize it when I was living it, but you know, look looking back, you know, we had a lovely home and mom and dad were great, and we knew a lot of the community.
- 18:06SPEAKER_04: And um you know, my mom and dad are still married after what did they just have their because if they're in their 80s, that well, they're 80.
- 18:16SPEAKER_04: They were married at 18.
- 18:17SPEAKER_04: Wow.
- 18:18SPEAKER_04: So whatever that is.
- 18:20SPEAKER_04: A lot of years.
- 18:20SPEAKER_04: I can't 70 years.
- 18:21SPEAKER_04: Yeah, they just had their big anniversary, and and this is the this is the funniest thing.
- 18:27SPEAKER_04: They still like like each other.
- 18:30SPEAKER_01: Even better.
- 18:31SPEAKER_04: I mean, it's the weirdest thing.
- 18:32SPEAKER_04: And they talk, and it was so funny.
- 18:34SPEAKER_04: My my dad had come out to San Diego, my sister was having a surgery or whatever, and we were in talk, her husband and I were in kind of helping her, and we and Charlie and I walked out, and there's my mom and dad sitting right next to each other on the couch holding hands.
- 18:47SPEAKER_04: Aw.
- 18:48SPEAKER_02: It was shout out, mom and dad.
- 18:50SPEAKER_04: It was go they were they they really were great.
- 18:54SPEAKER_04: And my mom really made sure that life was really simple.
- 18:59SPEAKER_04: Yeah and um, so it was great.
- 19:01SPEAKER_04: And then after uh a great childhood in Ankeny, I ended up going to Iowa State.
- 19:06SPEAKER_04: And um my freshman year at Iowa State, I um was not under the microscope anymore.
- 19:16SPEAKER_04: And needless to say, um, I had a lot of fun my freshman year in college.
- 19:20SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 19:20SPEAKER_04: A lot of fun.
- 19:21SPEAKER_04: I love this.
- 19:22SPEAKER_04: Yes, and then I um made the cheer squad.
- 19:24SPEAKER_02: So go to the wife was a cheerleader as well.
- 19:28SPEAKER_04: There we go.
- 19:28SPEAKER_04: Go to my clumsy little spirit finger.
- 19:30SPEAKER_04: Is it a spirit finger or a jazz hand?
- 19:33SPEAKER_04: Yeah, you don't really know.
- 19:35SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 19:35SPEAKER_04: So anyway, you know, did that and then actually did a semester abroad.
- 19:39SPEAKER_04: So uh we backpacked Europe for a month or so, and then we went to school at the University of Swansea in Wales.
- 19:48SPEAKER_04: And so that was just an incredible semester.
- 19:51SPEAKER_04: Love it.
- 19:52SPEAKER_04: And um anyway, so all of that to say, like I was state, I definitely had fun, like more fun than ever.
- 20:02SPEAKER_04: And then after I was state, I moved to Dallas, Texas.
- 20:06SPEAKER_04: And I worked, I moved to Dallas, Texas, and I worked in um a men's clothing store called Back Rack.
- 20:14SPEAKER_02: Interesting.
- 20:15SPEAKER_04: Yeah, B-A-C-H-R-A.
- 20:17SPEAKER_02: Were these like dress clothes, casual clothes?
- 20:19SPEAKER_04: Yes, they were dress clothes.
- 20:20SPEAKER_04: Um dabber.
- 20:22SPEAKER_04: And it was so fun.
- 20:23SPEAKER_04: I was single.
- 20:25SPEAKER_04: That's so cool.
- 20:26SPEAKER_04: So fun being in Dallas and doing that, and then um ended up getting into property management and um lived in Dallas.
- 20:33SPEAKER_04: I then worked for RealPage, which was a property management software company, traveled all over the United States.
- 20:40SPEAKER_04: Wow.
- 20:40SPEAKER_04: Ended up moving to Atlanta, Georgia, yeah, and met my husband.
- 20:44SPEAKER_04: Okay, and then we moved to Columbus, Ohio, and then we were there for a little over a year, and we had our first child.
- 20:51SPEAKER_04: And so my mom and dad had been in Arizona along with my sisters, and so we came.
- 20:57SPEAKER_04: But it was funny because my sisters and I view of Arizona was the Phoenician.
- 21:04SPEAKER_04: We thought Arizona was the Phoenician.
- 21:06SPEAKER_04: Like you go to the pool, you put your flag up, the little boys come running and get you drinks and all the things, you know.
- 21:12SPEAKER_04: And so, anyway, we always all wanted to be in Arizona, so it was fun.
- 21:16SPEAKER_04: More of like a vacation, just relax.
- 21:19SPEAKER_04: I love that.
- 21:19SPEAKER_04: I love that.
- 21:20SPEAKER_04: When my sister stayed here and um uh my mom and dad ended up coming over, once we had the baby in Ohio, I was like, we need grandma and grandpa.
- 21:31SPEAKER_04: So we moved moved here.
- 21:32SPEAKER_04: So we've been here since 2005.
- 21:35SPEAKER_04: Okay, okay.
- 21:36SPEAKER_04: So you have siblings, do you have any?
- 21:38SPEAKER_04: Oldest sister and then a younger sister.
- 21:40SPEAKER_04: And you're middle, and I'm I'm the middle.
- 21:43SPEAKER_04: Uh-huh.
- 21:44SPEAKER_04: And I raised the most amount of hell that you could imagine.
- 21:49SPEAKER_04: I put my parents through a lot.
- 21:53SPEAKER_04: And so it's kind of funny.
- 21:55SPEAKER_04: Hopefully my family doesn't watch this, but the we Have three boys and my middle son is identical to me.
- 22:08SPEAKER_04: Identical.
- 22:09SPEAKER_04: And I said, the only difference is I did all the stuff that I did outside of the house.
- 22:16SPEAKER_04: Well, he's still living in our house.
- 22:19SPEAKER_04: So sometimes I'm seeing things and I'm like, I I don't need to see that.
- 22:25SPEAKER_04: I don't, you know, so it it's all but it's full circle.
- 22:31SPEAKER_04: And my mom always said karma's a bitch.
- 22:34SPEAKER_04: And she was a hundred percent right.
- 22:37SPEAKER_04: Wow.
- 22:38SPEAKER_04: And when I tell you, like it's not like it's it is really scary at times when he says things and does things.
- 22:47SPEAKER_04: And I'm not gonna admit to all of it.
- 22:49SPEAKER_04: But in my mind, I'm like, Yep, yep, yep.
- 22:55SPEAKER_04: So then how do I get mad at him?
- 22:57SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's true.
- 22:58SPEAKER_04: I mean, you're 19.
- 22:59SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 23:00SPEAKER_00: And you turn out great.
- 23:01SPEAKER_00: I did you hear that, mom?
- 23:06SPEAKER_04: That's the thing.
- 23:07SPEAKER_04: I think we all I think you have to there is one thing I'll say.
- 23:13SPEAKER_04: There is probably not one thing that I didn't do prior to getting married.
- 23:18SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 23:19SPEAKER_04: I did it all.
- 23:20SPEAKER_00: Which is perfect.
- 23:21SPEAKER_00: You should.
- 23:22SPEAKER_04: A hundred percent.
- 23:23SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 23:24SPEAKER_04: And it's very rare, I think, in all the power to you, because I one of my very best friends, they got married very young.
- 23:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 23:33SPEAKER_04: And they're still together.
- 23:34SPEAKER_04: And and they're like a a little younger than us, like they're in their 40s.
- 23:38SPEAKER_04: So it's like they made it work, and some people do.
- 23:41SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 23:42SPEAKER_04: For me, I'm really thankful that, well, number one, I'm really thankful I survived the madness.
- 23:47SPEAKER_04: Amen.
- 23:48SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 23:49SPEAKER_04: And but now that I did survive it, I'm glad that I there's not, like I say, the things I did and saw and the places I went and all the exciting things that I did.
- 23:59SPEAKER_04: And then I met this guy, Brad.
- 24:02SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 24:04SPEAKER_04: Brad is from Tennessee.
- 24:06SPEAKER_04: Okay, and let's just let me just explain.
- 24:08SPEAKER_04: I'm if you take, I don't know if you'll get this analogy, but like Dallas, Texas is a little bit higher in, and then you have Austin, Texas, which is a little bit more um uh tree huggy, you know, the Burks, the Burks.
- 24:20SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 24:20SPEAKER_04: Where Dallas, we always said it's the high heel.
- 24:22SPEAKER_04: So my best friend lived in Austin, and we when we'd go Austin, we'd bring our Burks.
- 24:27SPEAKER_04: But when she came to Dallas, she had to bring her high heels.
- 24:29SPEAKER_04: Okay, okay, okay.
- 24:30SPEAKER_04: I was definitely Dallas.
- 24:31SPEAKER_04: All right, and let's take my husband was definitely Tennessee.
- 24:36SPEAKER_04: He's a Southern boy from Tennessee.
- 24:38SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 24:39SPEAKER_04: Yes, ma'am, thank you, ma'am, sir.
- 24:42SPEAKER_04: Quiet, okay, okay, calm, yeah, simple.
- 24:46SPEAKER_04: And so this one day, this is so funny.
- 24:49SPEAKER_04: So I lived in these apartments in Smyrna, Georgia, and I had my best friend upstairs, Lisa, and then Susie also lived in the department in the apartments, and then our other friend, Patsy, who was dating Josh, who foot was a football coach with Brad, and then this other Brad.
- 25:04SPEAKER_04: So there's this whole group of us, it was really fun.
- 25:07SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 25:07SPEAKER_04: On Lisa's refrigerator, there's this picture.
- 25:10SPEAKER_04: And actually, it's this picture right here.
- 25:15SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 25:15SPEAKER_04: I don't know if anyone can see that.
- 25:17SPEAKER_04: But anyway, it was this picture of this hot guy on her refrigerator.
- 25:22SPEAKER_04: And I'm like, who in the Sam hell is this?
- 25:24SPEAKER_04: Why haven't you guys introduced me to him?
- 25:26SPEAKER_04: Well, anyway, it was Brad.
- 25:27SPEAKER_04: I was traveling with work, so I didn't get to meet him until November.
- 25:32SPEAKER_04: And we went on a blind date.
- 25:34SPEAKER_01: Really?
- 25:34SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 25:35SPEAKER_04: So, because he coached football also at the high school right in Smyrna.
- 25:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 25:40SPEAKER_04: So all the girls and all the guys were coaching football.
- 25:42SPEAKER_04: And so after the game, Brad and his friend Adam are walking on the field, and I'm coming down one side, and there's this other girl coming down the other side.
- 25:51SPEAKER_04: Uh-huh.
- 25:52SPEAKER_04: And she had her eyes on Brad.
- 25:54SPEAKER_04: Well, no, no, no, no.
- 25:56SPEAKER_04: So I got down there first.
- 25:59SPEAKER_04: Needless to say, snagged him up, and um, we went to dinner, and then he had a bit of a drive.
- 26:04SPEAKER_04: We all went to dinner after the game.
- 26:06SPEAKER_04: And then he had a bit of a drive home.
- 26:08SPEAKER_04: So he ended up staying on the couch.
- 26:11SPEAKER_04: Let me just be sure that that's clear.
- 26:12SPEAKER_04: All right, all right.
- 26:13SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 26:14SPEAKER_04: And then the next day we went to IHOP and he, I still have the piece of paper.
- 26:18SPEAKER_04: He wrote his cell phone down on it.
- 26:20SPEAKER_06: Oh.
- 26:20SPEAKER_04: And I still have that.
- 26:22SPEAKER_04: And then I think it was the next day he came back because the high school that he coached at was right across from our apartment buildings.
- 26:31SPEAKER_04: And his mom and dad lived um like four on the other side of the city, okay.
- 26:35SPEAKER_04: Which was just it, it was like an hour drive.
- 26:37SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 26:37SPEAKER_04: So anyway, I think that second or third day he stayed and he never left.
- 26:43SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 26:43SPEAKER_01: Oh, let's go.
- 26:46SPEAKER_04: And then in so that was November, we got engaged.
- 26:49SPEAKER_04: Oh, sorry.
- 26:50SPEAKER_04: We got engaged in April.
- 26:52SPEAKER_04: And then the next year, then we got married in June.
- 26:56SPEAKER_03: Wow.
- 26:57SPEAKER_04: So, but we were both like twenty like 28 and 29.
- 27:01SPEAKER_04: Like we were, we were older, we've we'd been there, we'd done that.
- 27:06SPEAKER_04: And it was an adjustment because Brad was very, when I say slow, I don't mean that mean.
- 27:13SPEAKER_04: As you can tell with my hands and all my stuff, I'm a hundred miles a minute or I'm not.
- 27:18SPEAKER_04: Where Brad is just this constant.
- 27:22SPEAKER_02: Doesn't he?
- 27:22SPEAKER_02: Which maybe it's what you needed.
- 27:24SPEAKER_04: A hundred percent it's what I needed.
- 27:26SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 27:27SPEAKER_04: I couldn't have a dud, but I couldn't have someone like me because it'd be just a complete shit show.
- 27:33SPEAKER_04: And I mean, let's just take the spending.
- 27:35SPEAKER_04: You know, in this in the other podcast, we mentioned I have a spending problem.
- 27:39SPEAKER_04: It takes Brad about a year to research a sock and then goes to purchase it.
- 27:50SPEAKER_04: But it's a year of research.
- 27:52SPEAKER_04: I mean, like, it is ridiculous.
- 27:54SPEAKER_04: He'll be in and then he wants to like shop for the best price.
- 27:58SPEAKER_04: And he gets on these marketplaces and all this.
- 28:00SPEAKER_04: And then I'm like, for God's sakes, if you need a blower, go buy it.
- 28:03SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 28:04SPEAKER_04: But thank God he's not that way.
- 28:06SPEAKER_04: Because I spend enough for our whole family.
- 28:10SPEAKER_04: So at least there's someone that doesn't spend in our family.
- 28:12SPEAKER_01: So there you go.
- 28:13SPEAKER_04: I don't know if Brad knew exactly what he was getting into, but um it's been a ride.
- 28:19SPEAKER_02: You probably keep him on his toes, I can imagine.
- 28:22SPEAKER_04: Yeah, and he keeps me a little bit more grounded on my toes as opposed to flying high all the time.
- 28:29SPEAKER_02: It's quite a mix.
- 28:31SPEAKER_02: Awesome.
- 28:31SPEAKER_02: That's super cool.
- 28:32SPEAKER_02: But no, I think contrast is good in having someone out there for y'all that can help you with the process of being able to be your other half.
- 28:39SPEAKER_02: And I'm right there with you.
- 28:40SPEAKER_02: I met my wife, uh, it was Instagram, and so she was paying for some service and she put in all the things that she wanted to connect with other people on, and she was she'd been on bodybuilding figure competitions, what have you.
- 28:53SPEAKER_02: She was gorgeous.
- 28:54SPEAKER_02: Some type of uh thank you, some type of competition where then um it commented on what I post and went back onto hers.
- 29:00SPEAKER_02: I thought it was hers, but it wasn't.
- 29:02SPEAKER_02: It was the bot, and then we start going back and forth in the DMs, and then she friend zoned me, and then I was real estate marketing.
- 29:08SPEAKER_02: I met her twin sister, she's a realtor, and then she looks at me weird the whole time.
- 29:13SPEAKER_02: She calls her and says, I just met your future husband and the father of your children.
- 29:19SPEAKER_02: And this is like when we were just first starting dating, and I was just talking to her just to help her hurt her marketing company.
- 29:25SPEAKER_02: Uh her best friend was like, You're crazy, you're crazy.
- 29:28SPEAKER_02: And then we started hanging out more and more after the friend zone.
- 29:31SPEAKER_02: Then she's like reconsidered, and then we were what pregnant after four months and got married that year, and our daughter was like two months old, and it was just like boom, go.
- 29:44SPEAKER_04: I think when you know, you know.
- 29:45SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 29:46SPEAKER_02: I mean, that's it makes it easy, it makes it nice.
- 29:48SPEAKER_04: Oh god, it does bro both Brad and I will laugh because we both remember sitting at the IHOP that morning, knowing in our head, like, yeah, this is it.
- 29:57SPEAKER_06: Done.
- 29:57SPEAKER_04: And that's one thing I'll give to Brad is that on some things, like it's not like I had to chase him.
- 30:05SPEAKER_04: It's not like he was dragging his feet.
- 30:08SPEAKER_04: And unfortunately, I decided that we're staying together.
- 30:12SPEAKER_02: So that's what she did too.
- 30:14SPEAKER_02: I even want I even got to a point where I was like, I'm a Pisces.
- 30:17SPEAKER_02: And one thing about me is like, when if like I try to like like a fish trying to swim away, and she caught me back and she's like, Nope, nope, you're not going anywhere.
- 30:26SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
- 30:27SPEAKER_02: We're supposed to be together.
- 30:28SPEAKER_02: We have things to do in this life together.
- 30:30SPEAKER_02: You're not going anywhere.
- 30:31SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 30:32SPEAKER_04: And that was that's that was totally uh that's totally us.
- 30:35SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
- 30:36SPEAKER_04: It was like, excuse me, sir, no, no, no, no.
- 30:39SPEAKER_04: Mama, mama put her nails right up in you.
- 30:41SPEAKER_04: You're staying, okay?
- 30:43SPEAKER_04: You're you're with mom right now.
- 30:44SPEAKER_04: You're with me.
- 30:45SPEAKER_02: So that you know, that's the thing, the thing, like I always went younger.
- 30:49SPEAKER_02: So this is a little this is a little segment on on dating here.
- 30:52SPEAKER_02: Yeah, a little cheating segment.
- 30:53SPEAKER_02: Yeah, no big deal.
- 30:54SPEAKER_02: I always went younger, but they just didn't know what they want, and they're all over the place, and this and that.
- 30:58SPEAKER_02: And she like lined it out for me.
- 31:00SPEAKER_02: And I was like, Well, that makes it easy.
- 31:02SPEAKER_02: I'm growing a company, I have goals in my life, I don't want to deal with any more of this, this, that, and the other thing.
- 31:07SPEAKER_02: And I played enough in my 20s.
- 31:09SPEAKER_02: I'm like, I've I've had enough fun.
- 31:10SPEAKER_02: Yeah, like done.
- 31:12SPEAKER_02: Done.
- 31:12SPEAKER_02: I don't need that anymore.
- 31:13SPEAKER_02: And it was the best thing ever.
- 31:15SPEAKER_04: I agree.
- 31:16SPEAKER_04: And and now, you know, when I look at it, it's like, could you and you're much younger than I am, but I mean, I like I thank God every day that videos and Snapchat and uh social, oh my God, I am so glad that that was not there when I was it's a thing though.
- 31:39SPEAKER_02: It's a distraction.
- 31:40SPEAKER_04: It's a distraction, but it's oh my god.
- 31:43SPEAKER_04: Like it's enough for me to put a structured video with me talking about it.
- 31:47SPEAKER_04: If anyone from Iowa State ever went to TASL's, um, they saw the cheer squad in action on the dance floor.
- 31:55SPEAKER_04: And it it was not video worthy.
- 31:57SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 31:58SPEAKER_04: It was not, it was not video worthy.
- 32:01SPEAKER_04: And so I'm so thankful that no one saw that.
- 32:03SPEAKER_04: So I couldn't imagine, and Brad and I, if we're doing a date, a dating segment, you know, before 2019, I mean, there's a whole laundry list of what to it, but you know, it was kind of a crossroads in our marriage.
- 32:18SPEAKER_04: And, you know, we both kind of sat down, and it's like once we kind of with COVID figured out that we liked each other, it was pretty exciting when all the craziness stopped, and we just I said that was the only positive of COVID is that the five of us got to be together without the crazy and slow down and be present.
- 32:36SPEAKER_04: And yes.
- 32:38SPEAKER_04: And it was, I mean, it's it was well, it saved our marriage.
- 32:41SPEAKER_04: Wow.
- 32:42SPEAKER_04: And um, but you know, I said to him, it's like beyond the fact that we're married, like we're best friends.
- 32:47SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I know you inside and out, like, you know, if if you're feeling something or if you're not feeling something, or if you've done something wrong, let's talk like adults.
- 32:57SPEAKER_04: Let's just feel like I am not gonna take my energy to fight and to and to sneak around.
- 33:03SPEAKER_04: If you think you need to sneak around, then we need to talk about it.
- 33:07SPEAKER_04: Like all this, can you the energy it takes to lie and sneak around is a lot of energy.
- 33:15SPEAKER_00: It's a lot of energy.
- 33:16SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 33:17SPEAKER_04: And it's and let me just start with it's once we came to that where we had that moment in 2020 of like we liked each other.
- 33:24SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it was like, let's stop and step back.
- 33:27SPEAKER_04: We're best friends, and we're not gonna fight about this.
- 33:30SPEAKER_04: Like we've been together, we have three great kids, we've been together too long.
- 33:33SPEAKER_04: Let's just, you know, just talk about it.
- 33:36SPEAKER_04: Yeah, let's talk about it and figure out what we need to do.
- 33:38SPEAKER_06: Yep.
- 33:39SPEAKER_04: Um, but I think, you know, there's so many times that we could have gotten a divorce, yeah, or whatever.
- 33:46SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 33:46SPEAKER_04: And I know that there's times that that needs to happen by all means.
- 33:50SPEAKER_04: I think for me personally, I'm just glad because I definitely do knee-jerk reaction on things a lot of times.
- 33:59SPEAKER_04: I'm just glad that neither one of us did that knee-jerk, yeah, you know, like divorce too early.
- 34:03SPEAKER_04: Because it's like we if we we worked through it, and you know, now things are good.
- 34:08SPEAKER_04: You know, it's like I've reintroduced myself.
- 34:10SPEAKER_04: Like, I'm Susan.
- 34:11SPEAKER_04: Oh, you're Brad, nice to see you again.
- 34:14SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 34:15SPEAKER_04: Because when you're with the kids and all that stuff, I mean that's just going down a whole nother rabbit hole, but uh kids makes a little perfect sense.
- 34:21SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I mean, you can't have kids to better your marriage.
- 34:24SPEAKER_02: No, it's just distractions.
- 34:26SPEAKER_02: Oh just distractions.
- 34:27SPEAKER_02: And if you're not gonna look in the mirror and do your own self-inter work, and I think it's it's great.
- 34:32SPEAKER_02: It sounds like for both of us, like you knew where you were, he knew where he was, I knew where I was, my wife knew where she was.
- 34:39SPEAKER_02: So when we came together, we were already whole good people.
- 34:43SPEAKER_02: Like we already knew what we wanted, and it was clear.
- 34:46SPEAKER_02: And and I think that when you date sometimes younger and you don't know what you want, and it's not clear, or one person's working on personal development, they're reading books and they're putting in the work, and the other person's like playing video games and not doing anything, or you're just whatever, then you're not growing together.
- 35:02SPEAKER_02: And I feel like it's one thing to like just for your own self, like to look in the mirror and then ask yourself the hard questions, and then and then you got a partner, and you're like, oh my god, now we both need to ask ourselves these questions and see what we're committed to.
- 35:15SPEAKER_02: And it's just like it's a lot.
- 35:17SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 35:18SPEAKER_04: Oh, a hundred percent.
- 35:20SPEAKER_04: And and like I say, I think sometimes, which again, we had said that um on the other podcast, is just uh stopping and taking a breath.
- 35:29SPEAKER_04: I mean, if I could give like to all, you know, I work some hours at the at Bee Queen, my store, which I'm full Be Queen today, again.
- 35:38SPEAKER_04: Um, but you know, um I had this particular woman come in, a younger woman, and um, you know, she was looking and I went over to her and I was like, you know, how can I help you?
- 35:48SPEAKER_04: Whatever.
- 35:49SPEAKER_04: She's like, Oh, I've just had a baby, you know, I've got this and I'm just this, and just and it's like the and the baby was eight months old.
- 35:57SPEAKER_04: It's like she never like this was the first time that she was taking a couple minutes to herself, making herself feel but I think so many times everyone gets so wrapped up in the kids and all the craziness that even just taking a minute to stop.
- 36:10SPEAKER_04: And like I say, that's what we did in 2020.
- 36:12SPEAKER_04: But you know, like for this woman, she just took, we talked, and then we ended up putting on a show for her husband and the daughter.
- 36:18SPEAKER_04: We tried all these different things on and how great she looked, and how because you know, social media, you know, you're so judged, and then you also think like for the longest time, I didn't show my house because my house is far from Pinterest ready.
- 36:35SPEAKER_04: Okay, it has had three boys, it has eight dogs and a husband.
- 36:40SPEAKER_04: It is not Pinterest ready, and you know what else?
- 36:41SPEAKER_04: I don't decorate, I don't do that stuff.
- 36:43SPEAKER_04: So I didn't want to show it, but then I was like, you know what?
- 36:46SPEAKER_04: Who cares?
- 36:47SPEAKER_04: Whatever, whatever.
- 36:48SPEAKER_04: It's my house.
- 36:49SPEAKER_04: It is what it is.
- 36:50SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it's uh we all live very happily in it.
- 36:52SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 36:52SPEAKER_04: Um, but you know, so anyway, it was great to see her take a minute to herself and start to feel good about herself.
- 37:00SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 37:01SPEAKER_04: I think so much times you're on social medias and you know, all the craziness you moms most of the time don't stop to focus on themselves.
- 37:08SPEAKER_04: I know men.
- 37:10SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 37:10SPEAKER_02: I love that.
- 37:11SPEAKER_02: I think, yeah, definitely, you know, for you so listen out there is like take a second for self to self-evaluate.
- 37:17SPEAKER_02: I love social media from the perspective of I hack it, yeah, they only follow the things that are gonna be of service to me.
- 37:23SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 37:24SPEAKER_02: So it's either showing me books or good quotes or a dream car that I want or dream vacation that I want or a lifestyle that I um I'm looking for, or a place I want to look to bring my family, whatever.
- 37:35SPEAKER_02: So I really look to do that because you definitely can go down the rabbit hole on either side of the spectrum with social media.
- 37:41SPEAKER_02: So easy.
- 37:42SPEAKER_02: So easy.
- 37:43SPEAKER_02: And you can judge yourself and all this type of stuff.
- 37:45SPEAKER_02: And I think that right now, more than ever, people need more of the positivity, the light, the love, because there is so much going on right now with this whole I feel like we're dealing with a especially because of the social economical times, things are definitely very interesting, not just in our industry with real estate, but just any industry where people are just like, what the fuck is going on right now?
- 38:08SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 38:09SPEAKER_02: You're seeing things like now they're talking about basically reptilians and and this lady who's supposed to help all these kids, and you saw it floating around, right?
- 38:17SPEAKER_02: The picture of the red dress, this this girl, blah, blah, blah, whatever.
- 38:20SPEAKER_02: And um, you know, and whether it's you believe it, you don't believe it, it's hearsay it's whatever.
- 38:24SPEAKER_02: I just feel like we're dealing with like mental warfare.
- 38:28SPEAKER_02: Oh my god, yes.
- 38:29SPEAKER_02: On such a high level that people need to understand, like we need now more than ever, go say hi to your fucking neighbor, dude.
- 38:35SPEAKER_04: Oh my god.
- 38:35SPEAKER_04: Just make someone who said it yesterday.
- 38:37SPEAKER_04: I saw dude do something good for someone.
- 38:40SPEAKER_02: Just yes.
- 38:41SPEAKER_04: You know what?
- 38:41SPEAKER_04: When you're driving, this is this always gets me.
- 38:44SPEAKER_04: When you're driving and and you're merging, just just just do a zipper.
- 38:49SPEAKER_04: If everyone just kind of lets everyone in, guess what?
- 38:51SPEAKER_04: There's no do one thing.
- 38:53SPEAKER_04: Just let someone in front of you.
- 38:55SPEAKER_02: Not in fucking Arizona, dude.
- 38:57SPEAKER_02: I'll put in my blinker and be pulled over and they'll they'll freaking feed up.
- 39:00SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 39:01SPEAKER_04: It's like, are we seriously gonna be fussy over one spot in the line?
- 39:05SPEAKER_04: It drives I want to get out and say, people, give me a zipper.
- 39:09SPEAKER_04: Just give me a zipper.
- 39:10SPEAKER_04: Can we just just zipper in?
- 39:11SPEAKER_04: And if we do that, no one's gonna have to stop.
- 39:13SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 39:14SPEAKER_04: And I swear to God, if you just let someone in, it really feels good.
- 39:19SPEAKER_04: I know that does such a little example.
- 39:21SPEAKER_01: Oh my god, it does.
- 39:22SPEAKER_04: But it it does.
- 39:24SPEAKER_04: I mean, just if everyone would just do one thing nice a day.
- 39:27SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 39:28SPEAKER_04: And all the because I mean, again, I'm old, I'm in the fives.
- 39:32SPEAKER_04: And when I look at social media, I beat myself up.
- 39:35SPEAKER_04: I'm not doing enough real estate.
- 39:37SPEAKER_04: My house isn't Pinterest ready.
- 39:39SPEAKER_04: Uh my kids are doing XYZ and these kids are doing ABC.
- 39:43SPEAKER_04: And oh my God.
- 39:44SPEAKER_04: And that's a whole nother thing I want I wanted to say too.
- 39:47SPEAKER_04: Is I I wish someone would have said when my kids were little, like, don't worry.
- 39:53SPEAKER_04: Everything will work out if again, if you stay the course, just be loving and support your kids and just yeah, do what you can.
- 40:01SPEAKER_04: But again, so much when the kids were growing up, I beat myself up the whole time.
- 40:05SPEAKER_04: You know, it's like I had three boys, and so it was like a tornado.
- 40:09SPEAKER_04: And when I would go see my friends with girls, you know, they were having a tea party.
- 40:13SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 40:13SPEAKER_04: We didn't have tea parties.
- 40:15SPEAKER_04: We had tornadoes, okay?
- 40:17SPEAKER_04: And but yet then again, now I have these three boys that absolutely love their mother.
- 40:22SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 40:22SPEAKER_04: And I have some girl moms that are having their struggles right now with the girls.
- 40:27SPEAKER_04: So again, I know it it anyway.
- 40:31SPEAKER_02: No, I let's let's go.
- 40:33SPEAKER_02: I want to go a little deeper from the perspective of like, because I know there was a multitude of things that probably added up for you to feel the way that you felt to have a moment where you kind of like needed a reset, right?
- 40:45SPEAKER_02: When you when you went through that dip depilating, like, you know, neurologically, your body just everything just shut down.
- 40:52SPEAKER_02: And I want to I want to lead into that because I think that like that could be a really good lead-in for someone because someone could be out there thinking about how they're not good enough, and they're thinking about this post and that post and this person, and he said, and she said, and all this shit, which starts to turn into all this weight on our shoulders that can start turning into something that makes us feel anxiety and we can't sleep, and then we want to overeat, and then we get overweight.
- 41:16SPEAKER_02: So, so you have these three kids, you're married now.
- 41:20SPEAKER_02: Um, this happened, the story.
- 41:23SPEAKER_02: So give them some framework, was 2020?
- 41:25SPEAKER_02: 2010, but let's go back even further.
- 41:28SPEAKER_02: Okay, let's go back even further.
- 41:29SPEAKER_04: So when you're so what's happened is so I I marry Brad.
- 41:33SPEAKER_04: We had um oh yeah, we had two great kids, uh Brady and Brock.
- 41:39SPEAKER_04: And then um Brody came along.
- 41:42SPEAKER_04: Okay, now he was born in 2008, okay, in October.
- 41:46SPEAKER_04: We get to February um 2009, okay.
- 41:50SPEAKER_04: So uh Brad had quit teaching because um he was a teacher in Ohio, and when we moved to Arizona, because he was a teacher and a football coach in Ohio.
- 41:59SPEAKER_04: When we moved to Arizona, I think he took a$57,000 pay cut.
- 42:02SPEAKER_03: Sounds like my wife.
- 42:03SPEAKER_04: Yeah, okay.
- 42:04SPEAKER_03: Teaching.
- 42:05SPEAKER_04: And and in Ohio, it was$15 for insurance each month.
- 42:09SPEAKER_04: In Arizona, it was$800.
- 42:11SPEAKER_04: Okay, so it just and in the what did Brad do?
- 42:14SPEAKER_04: He changed it up.
- 42:15SPEAKER_04: His whole career, he wanted to be a football coach.
- 42:17SPEAKER_04: I mean, he played at Tennessee, like he's SEC, all the things.
- 42:21SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 42:22SPEAKER_04: And um, yeah, so he ended up changing jobs.
- 42:25SPEAKER_04: So he wasn't a teacher, he worked at this construction company.
- 42:28SPEAKER_04: And so it was a Saturday morning, it was February um 7th.
- 42:31SPEAKER_04: Because on February 6th, they found a cyst in my sinus and they had to remove it.
- 42:36SPEAKER_02: In the sinus.
- 42:37SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it was really scary.
- 42:38SPEAKER_04: Very interesting.
- 42:39SPEAKER_04: And it hurt like hell.
- 42:40SPEAKER_04: But so my mom, thank God, happened to be at the house.
- 42:43SPEAKER_04: So I was up on the recliner, packed up, and Brad had left at four o'clock in the morning to go to this job.
- 42:49SPEAKER_04: And as he was driving north on Valvista, uh, through Valvista and Guadalupe, if you look at the big electrical pole, there's black on it.
- 42:57SPEAKER_04: Well, a drunk driver hit Brad, spun him around, our car seat went flying out of the car.
- 43:02SPEAKER_04: Thank God the key threw into that metal pole.
- 43:05SPEAKER_04: And somehow he found his phone and called.
- 43:09SPEAKER_04: My mom ended up driving up to him.
- 43:12SPEAKER_04: And by the grace of God, the only part of the car, the Dodge Drangle, that wasn't ruined was the seat that he was in.
- 43:20SPEAKER_04: And then get this the only bone he broke was in his hand.
- 43:24SPEAKER_04: Wow.
- 43:25SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 43:26SPEAKER_04: And they literally, it was, it was horrendous, awful.
- 43:30SPEAKER_04: And so that was February 7th.
- 43:33SPEAKER_04: So we're dealing with all of that.
- 43:34SPEAKER_04: Well, now Brad, you know, is healing.
- 43:37SPEAKER_04: He's off of work.
- 43:38SPEAKER_04: We're trying everything to get him back because we were only, remember, I was gonna stay home with the kids.
- 43:44SPEAKER_04: So we were one income sucking wind.
- 43:47SPEAKER_04: He finally got back to work, and a week later they fired him.
- 43:53SPEAKER_04: Wow.
- 43:54SPEAKER_04: Oh my God.
- 43:55SPEAKER_04: Total shit show.
- 43:56SPEAKER_04: But then that leads into we have my parents, we had my sisters, like.
- 44:00SPEAKER_04: Everyone helped out.
- 44:02SPEAKER_04: And um, and as we got going, okay, so then that happened.
- 44:07SPEAKER_04: And then in we get to 2010.
- 44:11SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 44:12SPEAKER_04: October, Brad finally gets a job.
- 44:14SPEAKER_04: 2010 in January is when then I had where when we talked earlier about um your body shuts down, like once you're once your body says you're done, it's it's gonna shut down.
- 44:27SPEAKER_04: And with all the stress and with all the craziness and with all the anxiety that I'm gonna say moms, just because that's the position I can relate to.
- 44:35SPEAKER_04: Yeah, uh it it it piles up.
- 44:38SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 44:39SPEAKER_04: And on January 7th, my I have migraine.
- 44:42SPEAKER_04: I did not know at the time that it was migraine.
- 44:45SPEAKER_04: I just thought you your head hurt all the time.
- 44:47SPEAKER_04: I didn't know any different.
- 44:49SPEAKER_04: And so on January 7th, when I went down to St.
- 44:53SPEAKER_04: Joe, they noticed that there was my left side was weak.
- 44:57SPEAKER_04: And um, and I'm not shouting out St.
- 44:59SPEAKER_04: Joe's at all, but they ended up putting me in an MRI machine um with no headphones.
- 45:05SPEAKER_04: And they also uh listed me as a black combative female.
- 45:10SPEAKER_04: What in my in my medical records, yep.
- 45:13SPEAKER_04: And anyway, but they put me in an MRI.
- 45:15SPEAKER_04: So when I came out of the MRI, the condition I was already in just set it worse.
- 45:19SPEAKER_04: So at that point, no more, I couldn't move.
- 45:22SPEAKER_04: I uh couldn't uh my eyes wouldn't blink, uh, I couldn't speak, and I laid there for seven or eight days, and then St.
- 45:31SPEAKER_04: Joe's told me that they don't do headaches and I needed to go home.
- 45:34SPEAKER_04: What?
- 45:35SPEAKER_04: Because I didn't have a stroke, but I was presenting as a stroke, but it didn't show up on an MRI.
- 45:42SPEAKER_04: It was a hemoplegic migraine, but no one really knew that back in 2010.
- 45:47SPEAKER_04: You didn't hear a lot of migraine talk.
- 45:49SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 45:49SPEAKER_04: So anyway, ended up so that year was just awful because I couldn't uh watch TV, I could have no sound.
- 45:56SPEAKER_04: I'll never forget at the end of February.
- 45:58SPEAKER_04: We were having um my middle son's birthday, and we just had one couple friend over and they brought their two little girls, which was just perfect.
- 46:06SPEAKER_04: But it just the noise just got a little loud, and I was walking and just collapsed.
- 46:11SPEAKER_04: And then they have to get me on the bed and try to recover because it was horrendous.
- 46:18SPEAKER_04: But anyway, so through all of that, I'll never forget um Angela Knutson, Miss Minty, she's a big thing on Instagram, but she used to be a fitness instructor.
- 46:28SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
- 46:28SPEAKER_04: So I went with her, and I'll never forget, she was so like we were just trying to just move.
- 46:33SPEAKER_04: It wasn't lifting or anything, it was just trying to get the muscles back.
- 46:37SPEAKER_04: And then um another physical therapist, Kandra, I'll never forget we started off with one step.
- 46:42SPEAKER_04: If you could make one step.
- 46:43SPEAKER_04: And so again, that whole year was like my mom and dad had the kids.
- 46:47SPEAKER_04: Um, Brody wasn't even a year old yet.
- 46:49SPEAKER_01: Oh, so they're they're still pretty young.
- 46:51SPEAKER_04: Oh, they were totally young.
- 46:52SPEAKER_04: It was they were two and five.
- 46:57SPEAKER_03: Wow.
- 46:57SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 46:58SPEAKER_04: So they were and then the brand new baby.
- 47:00SPEAKER_04: So it just I'll never forget my third.
- 47:03SPEAKER_04: Um Brody was supposed to go for feeding therapy on that Monday.
- 47:10SPEAKER_04: That then I went down January 7th.
- 47:12SPEAKER_04: And so the broadster never got his feeding therapy.
- 47:16SPEAKER_04: It's okay though.
- 47:16SPEAKER_04: He's 19 or 18 and he's fine.
- 47:18SPEAKER_04: But anyway, good, you know.
- 47:20SPEAKER_04: But that that was that was a huge year and a huge buildup.
- 47:24SPEAKER_04: I mean, you everything stopped.
- 47:27SPEAKER_04: Everything shut down.
- 47:28SPEAKER_04: And again, that was in August when I got going again.
- 47:32SPEAKER_04: But then that then went into so that was horrible.
- 47:35SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
- 47:37SPEAKER_04: But then in March of 2011, actually March 23rd at 4:33 p.m., Brock, the middle guy, was diagnosed with type 1.
- 47:46SPEAKER_04: Type 1 diabetes.
- 47:47SPEAKER_04: Wow.
- 47:48SPEAKER_04: And if anyone knows type 1 diabetes, it's I I think it has to be one of the worst chronic illnesses because it's not cancer.
- 47:57SPEAKER_04: You can't find it and fix it.
- 47:59SPEAKER_04: You know, it's not a migraine where you know it's a migraine and then you do whatever to help yourself through it.
- 48:05SPEAKER_04: Type one is as a parent at a of a four-year-old who doesn't understand if you're high or you're low, it's keeping your kid alive.
- 48:14SPEAKER_04: So starting from that day for years, I two every two hours, 24 hours a day, we would check Brock.
- 48:24SPEAKER_04: There was there was no DEXCOM.
- 48:26SPEAKER_04: There was none of that for a four-year-old at the time.
- 48:29SPEAKER_04: He's 19 now.
- 48:31SPEAKER_04: So just imagine as a new parent going to bed every night and praying to God that your kid wakes up.
- 48:38SPEAKER_04: Because the big thing in the type uh one world is um oh, dead in bed.
- 48:44SPEAKER_04: Really?
- 48:45SPEAKER_04: And it's awful.
- 48:46SPEAKER_04: I hope my kids don't hear that part, but it's where a diabetic will go to bed and their numbers will be fine, but during the night they crash and they don't wake up.
- 48:55SPEAKER_02: Interesting.
- 48:56SPEAKER_02: And this is just hereditary?
- 48:58SPEAKER_04: No, actually, it's not.
- 49:00SPEAKER_04: Type two, yeah, and I'm not a scientist, so this is just my opinion.
- 49:05SPEAKER_04: Okay, but type two diabetes, you can fix it.
- 49:07SPEAKER_04: Got it.
- 49:08SPEAKER_04: Take a pill, take your Ozempic, go exercise and eat better.
- 49:12SPEAKER_04: You can fix it.
- 49:13SPEAKER_04: Type two is your problem.
- 49:16SPEAKER_04: Type one is an autoimmune pro an autoimmune issue, disease.
- 49:21SPEAKER_04: And basically what happened is when Brock was younger, he had a really bad virus.
- 49:26SPEAKER_04: And I took him to doctors, and all the doctors thought I was crazy.
- 49:29SPEAKER_04: And finally, at this last doctor, he said, Um, let's let's test his, we'll swab his nose next time.
- 49:35SPEAKER_04: I said, You son of a bitch, take the Q-tip and shove it up his nose right now and find out what the problem is.
- 49:40SPEAKER_04: We'll come to find out he had strep pneumonia growing in a sinuses for over a year.
- 49:44SPEAKER_04: That's why my kid didn't lay flat.
- 49:47SPEAKER_04: My kid was sick all the time.
- 49:48SPEAKER_04: Like we went through all of this stuff, even before we got to the type one.
- 49:53SPEAKER_04: But it was so, and that's another thing is moms, trust your instincts.
- 49:58SPEAKER_04: When you know something's wrong with your kid, amen.
- 50:01SPEAKER_04: You know you're the one.
- 50:03SPEAKER_04: You're not stupid, you're not crazy, you're not depressed.
- 50:07SPEAKER_04: No, you know your kid.
- 50:09SPEAKER_04: And um, I knew that something was wrong.
- 50:11SPEAKER_04: So come to find out it was.
- 50:13SPEAKER_04: Well, what happened is about a like less than a year later, that contracted type one.
- 50:18SPEAKER_04: And what it does is a virus can go in and kill your eyelet cells.
- 50:21SPEAKER_04: It basically fights against itself.
- 50:24SPEAKER_04: So the virus triggered his type one.
- 50:27SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 50:28SPEAKER_04: So for when since for when he was at four, again, we every two hours.
- 50:34SPEAKER_04: And I mean, everyone thinks that I exaggerate that.
- 50:38SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 50:38SPEAKER_04: I don't, that's that there's no exaggeration.
- 50:40SPEAKER_04: I mean, would you go to bed if your kid was gonna die?
- 50:43SPEAKER_04: Like, what if you missed a blood sugar and you slept through it and your kid was dead?
- 50:50SPEAKER_04: So 24 hours of keeping your kid alive.
- 50:52SPEAKER_04: So I mean the stress, and then again, the stress of the marriage, the relationship with the other kids, because your full focus is on this type one.
- 51:03SPEAKER_04: And let's not forget, I'm a migrainer, so I can have about one or two things in my in my brain, and then I'm done.
- 51:11SPEAKER_04: So what happens all those years is I'm like my husband was nowhere in sight for 10 years.
- 51:17SPEAKER_04: Wow.
- 51:18SPEAKER_04: Like you know what I'm saying?
- 51:19SPEAKER_04: Like he ran around like we'd because anywhere Brock went, we had to be with him.
- 51:25SPEAKER_04: So at school, when he went to a public school, because I was a nurse at the private school, so I was with him.
- 51:30SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 51:30SPEAKER_04: At the public school, I sat for six weeks in a desk outside the hallway and went everywhere he went to verify that all the teachers and everyone knew that he was this extremely brittle diabetic.
- 51:42SPEAKER_04: That if the wind blew, his numbers could crash.
- 51:46SPEAKER_04: Or if the wind blew, he could go up to 600.
- 51:48SPEAKER_04: And I mean, it could kill him either.
- 51:50SPEAKER_04: It could kill him either way.
- 51:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 51:52SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 51:52SPEAKER_04: And so we had to be sure.
- 51:53SPEAKER_04: So it's like for all those years, basketball practice, basketball games, you know, for all those years, we didn't really ever do vacations because he was in club ball.
- 52:02SPEAKER_04: So we'd end up just going where the club, you know, the games were in California or wherever.
- 52:07SPEAKER_04: So it was uh those years, and then the middle of all that, I have migraine.
- 52:15SPEAKER_04: Well, what triggers a migraine?
- 52:16SPEAKER_04: A lack of sleep.
- 52:17SPEAKER_04: Well, I never slept.
- 52:18SPEAKER_04: I think for years, I don't think I slept four hours straight.
- 52:23SPEAKER_04: Wow.
- 52:23SPEAKER_04: And your body, it doesn't work like that.
- 52:27SPEAKER_04: So then as I got going, um I ended up what was happening when they were at the public school, because I started working in the library, I all of a sudden my brain with the light and all the stuff was done and it just shut me down and I'd lose mobility and speech right there in front of the first graders that I was just reading a book to.
- 52:45SPEAKER_06: Wow.
- 52:46SPEAKER_04: So my dad ended up coming to work with me because if this would happen, they would, you know, anyway, they ended up calling 911, I think three times.
- 52:54SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 52:54SPEAKER_04: And then the 911, the fire department would think I was having a stroke.
- 52:58SPEAKER_04: So they take the smelling salt and they put it on my nose, but I couldn't move and I couldn't speak.
- 53:04SPEAKER_04: So it's just burning, but I was feeling it.
- 53:06SPEAKER_04: It was burning my, but I couldn't speak.
- 53:09SPEAKER_04: So they had to go and I'd get a it was a migraine.
- 53:12SPEAKER_04: And but they had to treat it like a stroke.
- 53:14SPEAKER_00: Oh my god.
- 53:15SPEAKER_04: I know it was just a shit show.
- 53:17SPEAKER_04: So anyway, that happened multiple times.
- 53:20SPEAKER_04: Finally, the Higley School District said, I think you need to go ahead and quit, not come back.
- 53:25SPEAKER_04: And I said, I think I agree, which I didn't agree at the time, but I get it.
- 53:29SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 53:30SPEAKER_04: So through all of that, again, then having Brock.
- 53:34SPEAKER_04: Now then we ended up getting a service dog, Peyton Manning.
- 53:38SPEAKER_04: And let's go.
- 53:39SPEAKER_04: I mean, Peyton Manning with the service dog was absolutely wonderful.
- 53:42SPEAKER_04: He saved his, he was a$25,000 dog.
- 53:44SPEAKER_04: Wow.
- 53:44SPEAKER_04: We fundraised it for fundraisers for it.
- 53:47SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 53:47SPEAKER_04: But he um saved his life multiple times.
- 53:50SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 53:50SPEAKER_04: Quick story, which none of my stories are quick, but I'll try and go quick.
- 53:53SPEAKER_04: Yeah, you're good.
- 53:54SPEAKER_04: Brad was out of town with Brady.
- 53:55SPEAKER_04: There was the two boys and I.
- 53:56SPEAKER_04: All day his blood sugars were really struggling.
- 53:58SPEAKER_04: We couldn't keep him up.
- 53:59SPEAKER_04: So we had basketball practice.
- 54:01SPEAKER_04: He ate a ton of sugar, and I'm telling a ton of sugar.
- 54:04SPEAKER_04: And then we ended up going to Smash Burger.
- 54:06SPEAKER_04: We didn't bolus him, which I didn't give him insulin for food because you have to give insulin to cover the food, the carbs.
- 54:12SPEAKER_04: We got home, it was about nine o'clock.
- 54:14SPEAKER_04: I checked his sugars.
- 54:15SPEAKER_04: He was good to go.
- 54:16SPEAKER_04: So he was sitting next to me.
- 54:17SPEAKER_04: Brody was over here.
- 54:19SPEAKER_04: I was on my chair.
- 54:20SPEAKER_04: I had my movie twilight ready.
- 54:21SPEAKER_04: I had my books ready.
- 54:22SPEAKER_04: You know, the boy Brad and Brady were gone.
- 54:24SPEAKER_04: I got my two boys.
- 54:25SPEAKER_04: They're about to fall asleep.
- 54:26SPEAKER_04: I got all night.
- 54:27SPEAKER_04: And I said, I'm going to stay up till midnight to check in before I go to sleep because I knew there was no backup.
- 54:32SPEAKER_04: And uh anyway, about 9:30, Peyton Manning, who's in our room, came running out, jumped on my chair, ripped my glasses off, and I said, Do we need to check your boy?
- 54:42SPEAKER_04: And anyway, we went and got the checker.
- 54:45SPEAKER_04: And Brock was 21 with his eyes rolled back in his head, non-responsive.
- 54:51SPEAKER_04: So if Peyton wouldn't have come out and got me, Brock would have been the statistic of dead in bed.
- 55:00SPEAKER_04: He was fine when he went to sleep, but he was crashing.
- 55:05SPEAKER_04: And the only one that caught it was the dog.
- 55:08SPEAKER_04: God bless him.
- 55:10SPEAKER_04: And so we caught it, we got him sugar, everything was fine.
- 55:12SPEAKER_04: But distress for all those years.
- 55:16SPEAKER_04: And again, let's just remember Brad wasn't in the picture.
- 55:19SPEAKER_04: I mean, he was.
- 55:20SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
- 55:21SPEAKER_04: Not for me.
- 55:21SPEAKER_04: It was keeping my kid alive and trying to help my other two kids at the same time.
- 55:28SPEAKER_02: Am I talking too much?
- 55:29SPEAKER_02: No, you're good.
- 55:30SPEAKER_02: No, you're really good.
- 55:31SPEAKER_02: I think as you talk, I I analyze, and as I analyze and listen, I just I want to be a vessel for the viewers and listeners.
- 55:39SPEAKER_02: And I want to just imagine questions and things are coming up and all this stuff.
- 55:43SPEAKER_02: And I think the number one thing, when you said earlier, you said my store.
- 55:49SPEAKER_02: Girl comes in, she wants to finally do something for herself.
- 55:52SPEAKER_02: And and and I want to tie that into what you were just saying because it sounds like not until COVID in 2020 did you actually have an opportunity to self-reflect, all come together.
- 56:04SPEAKER_02: And because he wasn't in the picture from the perspective of what I'm hearing, is that he wasn't there to say, Are you okay?
- 56:11SPEAKER_02: How are you doing?
- 56:13SPEAKER_04: You're exactly right.
- 56:14SPEAKER_04: But it wasn't even the question was, how was he doing?
- 56:18SPEAKER_04: Because neither of us were supporting each other, supporting each other.
- 56:22SPEAKER_04: And I think that does lead into the one thing about the girl in the store that came in.
- 56:27SPEAKER_04: What was really neat is when we were when I told you how we did kind of a fashion show.
- 56:31SPEAKER_04: Yeah, her husband and child came in and they were sitting down and they were cheering her on in a sense.
- 56:37SPEAKER_01: Let's go.
- 56:39SPEAKER_01: I love that.
- 56:39SPEAKER_04: I just I said I called my friend and I or I don't know, I call my sister, my husband, whatever.
- 56:43SPEAKER_04: I said, it's almost like crack cocaine.
- 56:46SPEAKER_04: I just get so excited because I got to help her.
- 56:49SPEAKER_04: And it was so neat to see them.
- 56:51SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 56:51SPEAKER_04: So you're exactly right.
- 56:53SPEAKER_04: The Brad and I never stopped to say, are you okay?
- 56:58SPEAKER_04: Are you okay?
- 56:59SPEAKER_04: We were literally just surviving, trying to, because let's not forget, I didn't want to work.
- 57:05SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 57:05SPEAKER_04: So who was busting their ass?
- 57:07SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 57:07SPEAKER_04: Brad was busting his ass.
- 57:09SPEAKER_04: And what did what did Brad want to do?
- 57:11SPEAKER_04: He wanted to be a teacher and a football coach.
- 57:13SPEAKER_04: Well, he couldn't do that in Arizona.
- 57:15SPEAKER_04: So he had to find a whole different career.
- 57:18SPEAKER_04: So again, woe is me.
- 57:20SPEAKER_04: But Brad, woe was Brad too.
- 57:23SPEAKER_04: He was in a different side of the struggle.
- 57:25SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 57:26SPEAKER_04: And um, but I think that's, you know, if someone could take something away, and I ramble and I don't mean to, and I apologize, but is is if you have a partner stop, I I wish someone would have stopped us.
- 57:40SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 57:41SPEAKER_04: And literally, I'm not sure at the time if I could have shut my brain down because it was, I was so focused on legitimately keeping my kid alive.
- 57:51SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 57:52SPEAKER_04: That like I say, I I don't know if I would have stopped, but I I really wish someone would have said, hey, let's talk.
- 58:00SPEAKER_04: Let's, you know, you're gonna make it.
- 58:01SPEAKER_04: You know, some of these new diabetic moms, they just they're so upset.
- 58:04SPEAKER_04: And I had a friend of mine, their daughter was became a the she was a mom.
- 58:09SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 58:09SPEAKER_04: And I really have just wanted to talk with her.
- 58:12SPEAKER_04: I haven't yet, but I just wanna because she hasn't reached out.
- 58:16SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 58:18SPEAKER_04: Because she's in just a nightmare.
- 58:20SPEAKER_04: But it I would love to be able to stop those moms and say, hold on, just yeah, it's let's take and that with my real estate.
- 58:29SPEAKER_04: Hold on, let's take this step by step.
- 58:30SPEAKER_04: Just slow down.
- 58:31SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 58:32SPEAKER_04: Because when you're becoming a new a new diabetic mom, or you're about to buy a house that you've never done before, you get all this shit thrown at you.
- 58:39SPEAKER_04: And if you would just have someone say, just stop, let's take a breath and let's go one step at a time.
- 58:46SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 58:46SPEAKER_04: And um, you know, I think that could get, you know, these young moms that are with all these distractions, like, hold on, stop.
- 58:54SPEAKER_04: And I know that's so much easier said than done.
- 58:58SPEAKER_04: I I'm not, yeah, you know, I I just would, I would love to be able, I love to be able to help people with like the house stuff.
- 59:06SPEAKER_04: Like I went over to one of the my son's teachers, yeah, and she was just a wreck.
- 59:11SPEAKER_06: Wow.
- 59:11SPEAKER_04: And it's like, hold on, let's just, and we literally broke it up and we just went, and she was cried tears of joy at the end because she felt so much better.
- 59:21SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 59:21SPEAKER_04: And so yeah.
- 59:23SPEAKER_04: But when you get into all the medical things and with kids and stuff like that, to have a tribe or to have support is huge.
- 59:32SPEAKER_04: And you know, yeah.
- 59:34SPEAKER_02: And I think we talked about earlier, like the the process, like you we talked about relationship.
- 59:39SPEAKER_02: It's one thing to look in the mirror for yourself, it's another thing to look into each other's eyes and say, you know, I'm I'm sorry, I see you, I hear you, forgive me.
- 59:49SPEAKER_02: This is what's coming up for me, and then okay, this is what's coming up for you, and then you're getting on the same page.
- 59:54SPEAKER_02: That's one thing in itself, also to then have the kids and then the medical and then all the things I can imagine.
- 1:00:01SPEAKER_02: It's just like distraction, distraction, distraction, distraction.
- 1:00:04SPEAKER_02: And I think that for us as a uh community, and I would like to say that we're building something here with this community, is to help you all with resources and opportunities and individuals like both of us.
- 1:00:16SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I was gonna say, I would love if someone called and they wanted to talk and they needed help.
- 1:00:20SPEAKER_02: So, so we'll put contact information down below.
- 1:00:23SPEAKER_02: So, Susan, if you want to reach out, you definitely should reach out.
- 1:00:27SPEAKER_02: Um, no judgment and no fees and and and and no one's too busy, and this isn't like the production, look at their social media, they're so successful, so busy.
- 1:00:38SPEAKER_02: Like, none of that stuff matters because I think that the biggest thing is that we do need to help each other as a community.
- 1:00:43SPEAKER_02: I think right now, more than ever, we need to slow down, we need to stop, we need to be more intentional.
- 1:00:50SPEAKER_02: My wife just came into our money motivation last week and said, um, you know, we're gonna have fun.
- 1:00:55SPEAKER_02: And back to the tea party thing.
- 1:00:57SPEAKER_02: Yeah, she does tea parties.
- 1:00:58SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but she's like, all right, coffee, tea, whatever, whatever you're drinking too, like just pick up your drink for a second and then just just stop and think for a second, and then and then like look at the liqueur, you know, smell the liqueur, you know, and and be stopped, be present, and then sip, and then and then and then taste it, and then swallow it, and then breathe out of your nose and and taste the taste out of your taste buds when you breathe out, you could taste better.
- 1:01:24SPEAKER_02: So she just just went through this simple exercise where all of us are just go, go, go, go, go.
- 1:01:29SPEAKER_02: Like this morning, I was just like, last couple days have been feeling a bit more tired.
- 1:01:33SPEAKER_02: I'm like, because Jordan, she has to go to school and we're gonna get there by 8:50.
- 1:01:36SPEAKER_02: And then I like to go to the gym before.
- 1:01:38SPEAKER_02: But then I like to sea salt, water, lemon, red light therapy.
- 1:01:41SPEAKER_02: I like to do my thing in the morning, go to the gym.
- 1:01:43SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but I don't, it's starting to become like rush.
- 1:01:46SPEAKER_02: And I'm like, I don't want to rush through this stuff.
- 1:01:48SPEAKER_02: I want this to be an organic, fun, collective first three hours in.
- 1:01:54SPEAKER_02: So then when I have this or I have a meeting or have whatever, I'm prepared for it because I don't think enough of enough of us gives grace first thing in the morning just for ourselves.
- 1:02:04SPEAKER_04: I agree with you fully.
- 1:02:07SPEAKER_04: I'm not a much of an early person, but it was really funny.
- 1:02:11SPEAKER_04: When I walked into your house today, um, they have a new black cat, and so I bent down to pet the cat.
- 1:02:18SPEAKER_04: And in that moment, they've got this beautiful smell in the house, this beautiful like meditation music.
- 1:02:24SPEAKER_04: And I just sat there and I just stopped just for a couple seconds, but I was like, oh my God.
- 1:02:31SPEAKER_04: Like it just even that moment, because before I got to your door, I was running about 90 to get here on time.
- 1:02:38SPEAKER_04: There was 27 things blowing up before I left.
- 1:02:41SPEAKER_04: I'm flying to get here.
- 1:02:42SPEAKER_04: And then I walk in, and then it was like, oh yes, you don't feel how uptight you are until you let it go.
- 1:02:51SPEAKER_04: So yes, it was great.
- 1:02:53SPEAKER_02: Awesome.
- 1:02:53SPEAKER_02: And when you leave here, my intention for you is for you to leave here and feel like you just like yeah, like you just got all this.
- 1:03:00SPEAKER_02: So, like, so you can conquer the world and do so much more and take on so much more.
- 1:03:04SPEAKER_02: And that's for the viewers and listeners too.
- 1:03:06SPEAKER_02: Like, after you're done with this to be able to self-reflect and ask yourself, what are you really committed to?
- 1:03:10SPEAKER_02: And I think that there something could be who knows, this could be the catalyst for you to be able to do more with moms from a different perspective where you never know.
- 1:03:17SPEAKER_02: You could even set up a new Instagram account and just have an account for moms that could just like to help them take a second, you know.
- 1:03:25SPEAKER_02: I mean, who knows?
- 1:03:25SPEAKER_02: Maybe my wife could partner up and do a tea tasting or something.
- 1:03:29SPEAKER_02: Uh who knows?
- 1:03:30SPEAKER_02: But something just like stop for a second.
- 1:03:33SPEAKER_04: Yeah, you know, and you know, another, like I say, I I love Bee Queen for this other reason.
- 1:03:38SPEAKER_04: There was a young lady that came in, I mean, yeah, 20s, 30s, whatever.
- 1:03:42SPEAKER_04: A younger lady that came in and she had just moved to Gilbert uh a couple months ago.
- 1:03:46SPEAKER_04: Yeah, and she works from home.
- 1:03:49SPEAKER_04: And prior to me being at Bee Queen, you know, I'm was on my own as an agent and I didn't have a team.
- 1:03:53SPEAKER_04: And so I was at home and I was like by myself, and I'm going, oh my God, I'm you know, sinking.
- 1:03:59SPEAKER_04: And as I got to talking, worse, it really is.
- 1:04:02SPEAKER_04: And I got to talking with this girl, and she was feeling that way.
- 1:04:05SPEAKER_04: And I looked at her, I was like, I I a thousand times understand what you're talking about.
- 1:04:09SPEAKER_04: I was there just a few weeks ago.
- 1:04:11SPEAKER_04: That's why I'm working here to get out and talk to people and be, you know, she doesn't know anyone, she just moved here.
- 1:04:17SPEAKER_04: And so, anyway, she actually reached out.
- 1:04:20SPEAKER_04: Wow.
- 1:04:21SPEAKER_04: She did.
- 1:04:21SPEAKER_04: I said, I'm gonna give you my card, and if you want to deal with me, crazy as ever, message me.
- 1:04:27SPEAKER_04: And she did.
- 1:04:28SPEAKER_04: And so I it also has helped me come out of my box because I've said to her and I asked in my other friend, and you know, I said, let's go, you know, do a um sound bath.
- 1:04:38SPEAKER_04: Ooh, you know, October 17th on Saturday, we wanted to uh do something together to meet her and to it's so simple.
- 1:04:48SPEAKER_04: Again, just to be kind and just to say, come on, let's go do something.
- 1:04:53SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it doesn't hurt to get out and do something.
- 1:04:55SPEAKER_04: Yes, I love that.
- 1:04:56SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:04:57SPEAKER_04: So I'm really excited to do it.
- 1:04:58SPEAKER_04: It's I there's been a lot of positives with Bee Queen, not only with real estate, but just again, getting out and like I say, helping that mom feel better about herself.
- 1:05:10SPEAKER_04: And this is the other thing.
- 1:05:11SPEAKER_04: Any mom that has a pooch, like you know, right here, they have a you just produced a baby, okay?
- 1:05:18SPEAKER_04: It took nine months to make this baby.
- 1:05:21SPEAKER_04: Like your pooch will your pooch will go away.
- 1:05:23SPEAKER_04: And you know what?
- 1:05:24SPEAKER_04: Who cares about the pooch?
- 1:05:26SPEAKER_04: But again, I wish someone would have said that to me, but yet then they have social media that you have these people that bounce back and photoshop their pictures, you know, to make them look like you just created a child.
- 1:05:39SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 1:05:40SPEAKER_04: Let's give yourself a few minutes to get back together.
- 1:05:43SPEAKER_04: Yes, you know, it's okay.
- 1:05:44SPEAKER_04: And um, anyway, so that's back to slowing down, like we talked about.
- 1:05:47SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 1:05:48SPEAKER_02: You've got to slow down.
- 1:05:48SPEAKER_04: You've got to stop.
- 1:05:49SPEAKER_02: The Instagramfication does because the thing is, is that uh what I've learned from being a business owner and now achieving some things is that once you get it, it's great for.
- 1:06:00SPEAKER_02: A couple days, maybe a month, and then it fades away.
- 1:06:04SPEAKER_02: The car, the house, the this, the that, the watch, whatever it is that you want.
- 1:06:08SPEAKER_02: The only time it feels good again is when someone notices it, brings you right back.
- 1:06:13SPEAKER_02: And then for me personally, I'm happy to share.
- 1:06:16SPEAKER_02: So, so yeah, I'm loving this narrative.
- 1:06:19SPEAKER_02: This whole narrative of the show is starting to sound like just pause, relax, take a second.
- 1:06:24SPEAKER_02: And my wife loves, she has a whole uh YouTube should connect because she has a whole circle of of women that do Reiki, sound healing, meditation, massage, all these different modalities.
- 1:06:35SPEAKER_02: I want to talk with her after.
- 1:06:36SPEAKER_02: And she is all about it.
- 1:06:38SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:06:38SPEAKER_02: And it was funny because she literally just had that.
- 1:06:41SPEAKER_02: So it's yesterday.
- 1:06:42SPEAKER_02: I go out there, and last weekend we just got done.
- 1:06:45SPEAKER_02: There's a it's called Abundance Space.
- 1:06:47SPEAKER_02: Abundance Space is in Scottsdale, and they do various different events there.
- 1:06:51SPEAKER_02: And we had actually a gentleman I want to have on this show, and he is like a medium.
- 1:06:57SPEAKER_02: He's someone that will sit with you and he will feel your energy, and he will start to like get these downloads of information.
- 1:07:03SPEAKER_02: And he starts saying this shit, and you're like, How do you know this?
- 1:07:06SPEAKER_02: How do you know that?
- 1:07:07SPEAKER_02: Yeah, this is like I didn't say nothing to you.
- 1:07:09SPEAKER_02: Like, are you on social media?
- 1:07:10SPEAKER_02: Did I post something?
- 1:07:12SPEAKER_02: And so, so I had a segment where I interviewed for him, interviewed him for a hot second.
- 1:07:16SPEAKER_02: So it's on my Instagram, and I want to get him on the show.
- 1:07:18SPEAKER_02: And so, right before that day, it was Saturday, Friday.
- 1:07:22SPEAKER_02: She has this event, she sells all this tea, she's all good because she is one.
- 1:07:26SPEAKER_02: She's out there doing her tea company on her own.
- 1:07:28SPEAKER_02: She's all by herself.
- 1:07:29SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 1:07:29SPEAKER_02: Now my aunt's coming out, she's retiring, she would love to help her.
- 1:07:32SPEAKER_02: I do the best I can, even though I'm here working from home by myself.
- 1:07:36SPEAKER_02: I have check-in meetings, I have all types of stuff, podcasts, and I have 22 on staff.
- 1:07:40SPEAKER_02: So, so you know, I get it.
- 1:07:42SPEAKER_02: I have people around me.
- 1:07:43SPEAKER_02: So yesterday I said, okay, let's go to lunch.
- 1:07:45SPEAKER_02: Let's go to lunch.
- 1:07:45SPEAKER_02: And she's like, I'm just this week.
- 1:07:46SPEAKER_02: I haven't got any sales from my website, and she's beating herself up and this and that.
- 1:07:50SPEAKER_02: So I said, I said, honey, okay, let's just pick five posts or three posts, whatever on Instagram that are doing pretty good.
- 1:07:56SPEAKER_02: $2 a day for a month, just boost them.
- 1:07:58SPEAKER_02: So you get some more views, maybe get some traction, maybe get some sales from whatever else.
- 1:08:01SPEAKER_02: And today we go on a run, we come back, and I was like, didn't she just have that big event last week?
- 1:08:05SPEAKER_02: Like, what's what didn't you just have that?
- 1:08:06SPEAKER_02: She's like, Yeah.
- 1:08:07SPEAKER_02: I'm like, what's the deal?
- 1:08:08SPEAKER_02: So that's why I'm gonna, I'm taking her out tomorrow.
- 1:08:10SPEAKER_02: We're gonna go up north and spend some time with each other, get her because a full moon to come in.
- 1:08:14SPEAKER_02: So I was like, let's go enjoy the full moon and just chill and like be in a different place, go out to nature a little bit, explore flag stuff.
- 1:08:21SPEAKER_02: And um, and so now she's all excited again.
- 1:08:23SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 1:08:24SPEAKER_02: So so if it's you out there, it's feeling alone, or you don't have anyone to talk to, or you're just like, whoa, me, like, understand that that's that's a part of the process.
- 1:08:32SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 1:08:33SPEAKER_02: I feel like I feel like if you didn't have contrast, you wouldn't know what the highs would look like if you only had highs.
- 1:08:39SPEAKER_04: 100%, yeah.
- 1:08:40SPEAKER_04: You know what I'm saying?
- 1:08:41SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I like to roll the ride the roller coaster.
- 1:08:43SPEAKER_04: You have to.
- 1:08:44SPEAKER_04: Because when you get down, you know what?
- 1:08:46SPEAKER_04: You've got to let things go.
- 1:08:47SPEAKER_04: It it is what it is right now.
- 1:08:49SPEAKER_04: The tea is where it's at, the real estate is where it's at.
- 1:08:52SPEAKER_04: Like, you know what?
- 1:08:54SPEAKER_04: Just keep your head down, keep working, but take a break.
- 1:08:57SPEAKER_04: Amen.
- 1:08:58SPEAKER_04: Take a breath.
- 1:08:58SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 1:08:59SPEAKER_04: Yes, it's okay.
- 1:09:00SPEAKER_04: You don't have to be running 99 miles a minute.
- 1:09:03SPEAKER_01: No.
- 1:09:03SPEAKER_04: If you take a day, you'll probably be a hundred million times better.
- 1:09:09SPEAKER_02: Dude.
- 1:09:10SPEAKER_02: 100%.
- 1:09:11SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:09:11SPEAKER_02: Okay, I want to say this quote, and then I want to go into some of the practices, some of the techniques, the things that you've done to balance yourself out from migraine to then not having these episodes and how you can now be around sound and and and be more, I guess you could say, somewhat normal.
- 1:09:25SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:09:25SPEAKER_02: I love this quote of we're here to serve those who we once were.
- 1:09:29SPEAKER_02: Oh my God.
- 1:09:30SPEAKER_02: Right?
- 1:09:30SPEAKER_02: Yeah, 100%.
- 1:09:32SPEAKER_02: Because you met the woman who you're like, just there.
- 1:09:34SPEAKER_02: I understand, right?
- 1:09:35SPEAKER_02: And just like you're watching, and maybe you're like, oh my God, this is all connecting for you because we're just, I feel like, mirrors of each other.
- 1:09:42SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:09:43SPEAKER_02: And then, and then God's like, here's this girl coming into the store, and you're like, Holy shit, that was just me.
- 1:09:49SPEAKER_02: So it gives you a gratitude moment.
- 1:09:50SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 1:09:51SPEAKER_02: Then you get to be of service.
- 1:09:52SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 1:09:52SPEAKER_02: Then you make that person feel special.
- 1:09:54SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 1:09:54SPEAKER_02: And then you just have this freaking amazing moment.
- 1:09:57SPEAKER_04: Amazing moment.
- 1:09:58SPEAKER_04: And that is what I that's what fills my cup.
- 1:10:01SPEAKER_04: Amen.
- 1:10:02SPEAKER_04: Because when I see someone else, like I got to help them.
- 1:10:04SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:10:05SPEAKER_04: They needed me and I got to help them.
- 1:10:06SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 1:10:07SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 1:10:07SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:10:08SPEAKER_04: Um tell me again where you want me to start on the whole.
- 1:10:11SPEAKER_02: So you quit the job at the school, and they said you should probably just quit.
- 1:10:16SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:10:18SPEAKER_02: The sounds of this, the that.
- 1:10:20SPEAKER_02: So what are you starting to become more clear about what maybe you need to do to balance yourself out, or what's going on?
- 1:10:26SPEAKER_04: So I ended up meeting Dr.
- 1:10:27SPEAKER_04: Starling at Mayo Clinic.
- 1:10:29SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 1:10:29SPEAKER_04: She at the time was a resident.
- 1:10:31SPEAKER_04: Funny.
- 1:10:32SPEAKER_04: She's now the head of the neurology department at Mayo Clinic.
- 1:10:35SPEAKER_06: Wow.
- 1:10:35SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:10:36SPEAKER_04: Love her.
- 1:10:36SPEAKER_04: She saved my life.
- 1:10:38SPEAKER_04: Wow.
- 1:10:38SPEAKER_04: But when I got with her, she kept talking about this 18-day pain clinic.
- 1:10:43SPEAKER_04: And I kept saying, I am not leaving.
- 1:10:46SPEAKER_04: It's kind of like when they told me to do this is when they told me to do yoga.
- 1:10:49SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:10:49SPEAKER_04: Really?
- 1:10:50SPEAKER_04: But I'm not leaving for 18 days.
- 1:10:51SPEAKER_04: I've got this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this.
- 1:10:54SPEAKER_04: Can you relate?
- 1:10:55SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 1:10:55SPEAKER_04: I'm a mom.
- 1:10:56SPEAKER_04: I can't stop for 18 days in a row.
- 1:10:59SPEAKER_04: I finally did it because it was coming to the point where it was, I wasn't good at anything.
- 1:11:05SPEAKER_04: I I was just struggling, trying to literally keep alive hour by hour.
- 1:11:09SPEAKER_04: Oh my God.
- 1:11:10SPEAKER_04: And so anyway, did the 18-day pain clinic and they talked about yoga.
- 1:11:16SPEAKER_04: They talked about breath work.
- 1:11:18SPEAKER_04: Um, what is it?
- 1:11:19SPEAKER_04: The bio, what the biofeedback?
- 1:11:20SPEAKER_04: Is that something with anyway, some type of breathing.
- 1:11:24SPEAKER_04: I can't think of the word, but the the breathing, yoga, um, uh stretching out, waking up, moving your moving your body.
- 1:11:33SPEAKER_04: Like part of our day was even just walking the hospital, was just walking to kind of it was absolutely amazing what they did.
- 1:11:42SPEAKER_04: And a lot of the people there were coming off of like pain pills.
- 1:11:46SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:11:46SPEAKER_04: Now, thank God I wasn't on pain pills because I'm very much um could get addicted to something that makes at the time.
- 1:11:57SPEAKER_04: Here's this is something I've I figured out too.
- 1:12:00SPEAKER_04: It's like an altered state.
- 1:12:02SPEAKER_04: I was in a nightmare.
- 1:12:04SPEAKER_04: So I would drink to get to an altered state, to feel different, to feel good.
- 1:12:11SPEAKER_04: And that, you know, if you're trying to make, if you're trying to get somewhere to feel different, uh that's a red flag.
- 1:12:17SPEAKER_02: That's a red flag.
- 1:12:18SPEAKER_04: Guys, hold on.
- 1:12:19SPEAKER_04: Don't get that bottle of wine out.
- 1:12:21SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 1:12:21SPEAKER_02: I love that, I love that term.
- 1:12:23SPEAKER_02: That's a very interesting way of looking at it.
- 1:12:25SPEAKER_04: And and I said, you know, for the longest time, you know, alcohol, I didn't, I I didn't, well, because I was drinking too much alcohol because I didn't want to be where I was at.
- 1:12:35SPEAKER_04: And I said, you know, then, you know, if I were to have a drink, it's like I don't want to off myself.
- 1:12:41SPEAKER_04: I don't want to leave my reality.
- 1:12:43SPEAKER_04: I like the reality I'm in.
- 1:12:45SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's true.
- 1:12:46SPEAKER_04: But when I was in the nightmare, I was trying to get out.
- 1:12:49SPEAKER_00: Oh, wow.
- 1:12:49SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:12:50SPEAKER_04: So again, back at the pain clinic, you know, it was just working with its mindfulness, it's, you know, um quotes or writing things down, a journal, all these things that you all have heard, you all know.
- 1:13:01SPEAKER_04: It just happens to be at this 18-day clinic.
- 1:13:04SPEAKER_04: You have to do it.
- 1:13:05SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:13:05SPEAKER_04: And then I'll never forget, I went to walk into the room and these people had lights on.
- 1:13:11SPEAKER_04: And I went out and I said, because a lot of the people had sunglasses on.
- 1:13:14SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:13:15SPEAKER_04: And I watched, I said, I didn't bring my sunglasses.
- 1:13:17SPEAKER_04: I said, can we get these lights turned down?
- 1:13:18SPEAKER_04: And they're like, No, this is your first lesson and learning what your reality is going to be.
- 1:13:25SPEAKER_03: Whoa.
- 1:13:25SPEAKER_04: And learning how to get through sitting in a light room or a loud room, or how are you gonna do that?
- 1:13:32SPEAKER_04: We're not gonna, we're not gonna adjust because, and it's funny because in every every restaurant I go into, the first thing I ask is, okay, we got to get that music turned down.
- 1:13:40SPEAKER_04: Like for the love of God at Starbucks, why do we blare the music?
- 1:13:43SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:13:43SPEAKER_04: I mean, people want to work, people want to have a meeting or chat.
- 1:13:46SPEAKER_04: Let's just tone it down a little bit.
- 1:13:48SPEAKER_04: But anyway, but just learning how to live with that.
- 1:13:51SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:13:51SPEAKER_04: And as I came out of that, it goes into the yoga thing again, is taking time, taking an hour to go to yoga, taking an hour to go cold plunge.
- 1:14:04SPEAKER_04: You know, the cold plunging.
- 1:14:05SPEAKER_04: Um, take an hour to take a walk.
- 1:14:09SPEAKER_04: You know, there are a massage, like there's so but again, there's a lot of stuff that you can do for free without having to pay for it.
- 1:14:18SPEAKER_04: And it's literally stopping and and meditating, you know, a sound bath, all the things I can't wait.
- 1:14:26SPEAKER_04: I I can't wait to get with your wife.
- 1:14:28SPEAKER_01: Dude, you guys are gonna hit it off.
- 1:14:30SPEAKER_01: I really do feel like you will.
- 1:14:31SPEAKER_04: Because that is, I wish everyone could experience yoga nidra or nidra, however you say it, or a sound bath.
- 1:14:39SPEAKER_04: Or for God's sakes, if anyone wants to go cold plunging, come go cold plunging with me.
- 1:14:44SPEAKER_04: Like it's okay.
- 1:14:46SPEAKER_04: Anyone?
- 1:14:46SPEAKER_06: Let's go.
- 1:14:47SPEAKER_04: Um, definitely that, you know, or if you want to do a yoga sesh, you know.
- 1:14:51SPEAKER_04: And another thing that, you know, like just taking the yoga, a lot of people like, I can't do it.
- 1:14:56SPEAKER_04: Yoga is not about which again, I did in the beginning.
- 1:14:59SPEAKER_04: You want to compete because you want to try and do every move.
- 1:15:03SPEAKER_04: Just get in there and focus on your mat and shut your mind down.
- 1:15:08SPEAKER_04: Don't worry so much about doing all the poses, just be in the heat, be stretching, be moving.
- 1:15:14SPEAKER_04: Anyway.
- 1:15:14SPEAKER_02: I love that.
- 1:15:15SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:15:15SPEAKER_02: I love that.
- 1:15:16SPEAKER_02: So you're going through these 18 days, and like, what are some things that really stuck out for you as far as maybe different techniques or different things you can apply to your life and that you have that really helped you?
- 1:15:27SPEAKER_02: Breathing.
- 1:15:28SPEAKER_02: Really?
- 1:15:28SPEAKER_02: Breathing.
- 1:15:29SPEAKER_02: Like a technique of breathing, or just being mindful of the breath?
- 1:15:32SPEAKER_02: Both.
- 1:15:32SPEAKER_04: Take it going in through your nose.
- 1:15:38SPEAKER_04: And you're letting it out slow.
- 1:15:41SPEAKER_04: And there's actually an app that you can download, and I'll have to get you the name of it.
- 1:15:45SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 1:15:45SPEAKER_04: And you you breathe in like four seconds, and maybe you let out eight seconds.
- 1:15:51SPEAKER_04: It is amazing.
- 1:15:53SPEAKER_04: That's that in itself.
- 1:15:54SPEAKER_02: So simple.
- 1:15:55SPEAKER_04: It's so simple.
- 1:15:56SPEAKER_02: It's so simple.
- 1:15:57SPEAKER_04: Just stop and breathe.
- 1:15:59SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:15:59SPEAKER_04: You know, and then another thing when you're breathing, you know, don't get your whole body into it.
- 1:16:05SPEAKER_04: They would put these sensors on my shoulders because when you get your stress and anxiety, you're here.
- 1:16:11SPEAKER_04: And that just throws everything off.
- 1:16:12SPEAKER_04: Your neck, your shoulders are all the way up.
- 1:16:14SPEAKER_04: But if you if you if you get them down and you focus on that and keeping your diaphragm up and then doing in through the nose, in out through the mouth.
- 1:16:24SPEAKER_04: And again, I don't know the science behind it.
- 1:16:27SPEAKER_04: So don't anyone think that I know all the details behind this.
- 1:16:31SPEAKER_04: But that it's that easy.
- 1:16:33SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:16:34SPEAKER_04: Just that's what they shared with us.
- 1:16:35SPEAKER_04: And I was with these three older gentlemen that were coming off um morphine and perks and all the stuff.
- 1:16:42SPEAKER_04: And to see their transition from just breathing, from just doing the morning exercises to um doing some occupational therapy to kind of get yourself back aligned was amazing.
- 1:16:55SPEAKER_04: Wow.
- 1:16:56SPEAKER_04: And then when I got done with that, to continue with the yoga, to continue having those moments where I stopped.
- 1:17:04SPEAKER_02: Yeah, very interesting.
- 1:17:05SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I think that uh that's amazing.
- 1:17:07SPEAKER_02: I think that the thing is, is when you're in that stressful state, I can imagine the breath itself is probably very shallow, and you're not actually giving your body the oxygen that it needs.
- 1:17:18SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 1:17:19SPEAKER_02: So that ties into the stress.
- 1:17:21SPEAKER_02: Um, it was interesting.
- 1:17:22SPEAKER_02: My father-in-law, he um just turned seven, he did a big birthday party for him.
- 1:17:27SPEAKER_02: We had we hosted, had a family in town.
- 1:17:30SPEAKER_02: It was amazing.
- 1:17:31SPEAKER_02: Then that very next weekend, because he was dealing with, he would bend over and he was dealing with some hip thing, and it would seize up, and then he was waking up in the morning, he's feeling just extra stiff and tired and all this type of stuff.
- 1:17:41SPEAKER_02: And then um he was here, and uh, for some reason his son was in town.
- 1:17:47SPEAKER_02: Um, and so this is Adam, and he just dropped him off that morning.
- 1:17:50SPEAKER_02: I said, Come over, just come over.
- 1:17:52SPEAKER_02: So he comes over, fucking dad comes over, he brings donies.
- 1:17:56SPEAKER_02: So donut Friday is my wife's thing.
- 1:17:58SPEAKER_02: Just we have a treat once a week because she was a big time on the whole bodybuilder thing.
- 1:18:02SPEAKER_02: So then she would be very structured with that.
- 1:18:04SPEAKER_02: Don't do it as much anymore, but he brought over donuts and then he had a freaking monster energy drink.
- 1:18:08SPEAKER_02: I'm like, come on, are you doing?
- 1:18:09SPEAKER_02: So, all right, let's go take a walk.
- 1:18:10SPEAKER_02: So we go take this walk, we're going down the canal, we come back, and he's really just not like uh so he calls up and says, Okay, I'm gonna call, make an appointment for a doctor, whatever, to go see like he's V uh veteran, so VA, whatever, would cover him to see a doctor on Wednesday.
- 1:18:25SPEAKER_02: And she's like, Well, what's going on?
- 1:18:26SPEAKER_02: What's your pain?
- 1:18:26SPEAKER_02: Like, what's happening?
- 1:18:27SPEAKER_02: He's like, Oh, it's like a seven.
- 1:18:28SPEAKER_02: She's like, We can make this appointment, but you might want to go just just go to the ER, go to the hospital, just just double check, emergency room.
- 1:18:35SPEAKER_02: So she and her, she and him go and then come to find out, they do all these tests, thought it was maybe something simple, and then come to find out it's not as simple.
- 1:18:44SPEAKER_02: It's his main artery that connects, it's like down here connects your your legs.
- 1:18:49SPEAKER_02: So it's the main artery.
- 1:18:50SPEAKER_02: And so it's like kind of like uh it's like this to the two legs, and it has like the top and it goes down.
- 1:18:56SPEAKER_02: Um, but in the center, it was really starting to get dilated.
- 1:19:00SPEAKER_02: So technically, if you have anything with major artery issues, he'll do surgery at like uh I think like two 2.5 centimeters, he was at like 3.5, almost like four.
- 1:19:12SPEAKER_02: And they're like, Yeah, so uh we're gonna have to do surgery.
- 1:19:15SPEAKER_02: You could schedule this, but you should probably do surgery.
- 1:19:17SPEAKER_02: We're gonna take you to and sent you over to this other hospital.
- 1:19:20SPEAKER_02: And then the doctor came in, they talked about putting stents and all that type of stuff.
- 1:19:24SPEAKER_02: Come to find out, if he did not actually get checked, his parents both died from aneurysms.
- 1:19:31SPEAKER_02: And so that's when your arteries are the lining of the walls get so thin that it starts to get bigger and bigger, and then next thing you know, it could burst.
- 1:19:38SPEAKER_02: He bleed out from inside.
- 1:19:40SPEAKER_02: So he saved his life.
- 1:19:41SPEAKER_02: Thank God he didn't uh bleed out from inside.
- 1:19:44SPEAKER_02: But just and this is to give contrast to the breathing, just because the flow, like his body was being starved of blood because he wasn't getting the right blood flow to his legs, and then his knee was having issues.
- 1:19:58SPEAKER_02: He was seen about going to surgery for that.
- 1:19:59SPEAKER_02: Because he did that, he's lighter in the mornings, he feels better.
- 1:20:03SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and then he changed up his diet, and so now he's feeling like a whole new man again.
- 1:20:08SPEAKER_05: Yep.
- 1:20:09SPEAKER_02: And and I think that there's there's things you can relate to to that story.
- 1:20:12SPEAKER_02: Hopefully, if you have grandparents or you're watching this, just get checked out, just be safe.
- 1:20:17SPEAKER_02: And also like the breath, just breathe, slow down a little bit.
- 1:20:21SPEAKER_02: You never know what it could do to help you.
- 1:20:24SPEAKER_04: Well, and like I say, to to say, hey guys, don't forget to breathe.
- 1:20:28SPEAKER_04: But but I think a lot of people forget to breathe.
- 1:20:30SPEAKER_04: Oh my god.
- 1:20:31SPEAKER_04: And it's just like I it's that's like one little simple piece of advice.
- 1:20:34SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 1:20:34SPEAKER_04: And um and like I say, it's so funny on the it's not funny, but the blood flow.
- 1:20:40SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I the um PFO closure, they thought that could have been contributing.
- 1:20:45SPEAKER_04: So they went in.
- 1:20:47SPEAKER_04: Yeah, because the blood wasn't flowing correct in my heart.
- 1:20:50SPEAKER_04: So they had to put an umbrella in my heart.
- 1:20:52SPEAKER_04: So I for yeah, I I had heart to heart surgery too.
- 1:20:54SPEAKER_04: But again, wow it's also, but again, unless you stop and not attribute, you know, to take a break and to take a uh scan of your body.
- 1:21:04SPEAKER_04: Where are you hurting?
- 1:21:05SPEAKER_04: What you know, here's another little one.
- 1:21:07SPEAKER_04: I thought I had a gas pain.
- 1:21:10SPEAKER_04: And I don't know, it's 2012, 2014, whatever.
- 1:21:14SPEAKER_04: I thought I had a gas pain.
- 1:21:15SPEAKER_04: Well, my mom's like, oh, just go to the emergency room.
- 1:21:18SPEAKER_04: Hell, you've met your deductible, just go over.
- 1:21:20SPEAKER_04: So we went over to the emergency room.
- 1:21:22SPEAKER_04: Well, anyway, I had um my cecum had flipped up twisted and was laying on the other side.
- 1:21:28SPEAKER_04: What?
- 1:21:28SPEAKER_04: Blood had stopped flowing.
- 1:21:30SPEAKER_04: So I went into emergency surgery.
- 1:21:32SPEAKER_04: They took my cecum, the appendix, the foot of the intestine, they totally had to redo all the inside.
- 1:21:38SPEAKER_04: And I said I said to the doctor, Well, how does that happen?
- 1:21:40SPEAKER_04: And one of the nurses said, a lot of times it happens to horses when they roll around on the ground.
- 1:21:45SPEAKER_04: I'm like, okay, um, not a horse.
- 1:21:48SPEAKER_04: How did this happen?
- 1:21:50SPEAKER_04: They don't know.
- 1:21:51SPEAKER_04: But something got flipped.
- 1:21:52SPEAKER_04: So again, if I wouldn't have, if I would have, if that would have been pre-2010 and I thought I had a gas pain, I would have just gone to bed and I would have woke up.
- 1:22:04SPEAKER_04: I wouldn't have woke up because the blood had already stopped flowing.
- 1:22:08SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:22:08SPEAKER_04: So it's again, just stopping.
- 1:22:12SPEAKER_04: I I think, God, that sounds so easy.
- 1:22:14SPEAKER_04: I wish I had like a nut like a big takeaway, but it's there's just such simple things we can do, and it's so interesting that we don't do it.
- 1:22:22SPEAKER_02: Oh my God.
- 1:22:24SPEAKER_02: I think I think that the way that everything has been set up as far as our system, yeah, we've been born into a system that we, you know, we're not good enough.
- 1:22:32SPEAKER_02: And then there's the fear, and then there's the anxiety, and then there's the the performance.
- 1:22:37SPEAKER_02: We need to, we need to perform as athletes or cheerleaders, and then in school, and then if you want to start a business, and it's just like you're always competition.
- 1:22:46SPEAKER_02: And I think that like because of the way that everything's been set up, the way it's been set up, I think that's where, and it's interesting.
- 1:22:53SPEAKER_02: I I have a belief system from the perspective of I believe the Lord has blessed us with these things that you're talking about that you've gone through.
- 1:23:02SPEAKER_02: Um, I was diagnosed with learning disability, twos in my ears.
- 1:23:05SPEAKER_02: I had colitis, which is large intestine inflammation, I had a colonoscopy in my 20s.
- 1:23:10SPEAKER_02: I'm not even old enough for that shit.
- 1:23:11SPEAKER_02: Told I was gonna be on medication for the rest of my life.
- 1:23:14SPEAKER_02: Um, none of that shit happened.
- 1:23:15SPEAKER_02: I got through all of it.
- 1:23:17SPEAKER_02: Um, and I think that it's because it he wants to show us that we do need to slow down and then help us be able to understand like what really matters the most.
- 1:23:29SPEAKER_02: And I think that the coolest analogy is like when you go to like a city, a city is chaotic.
- 1:23:34SPEAKER_02: You gotta look, you gotta hit the button, you gotta cross the street, there's cars coming, there's all this type of stuff, there's so many things you're like overstimulated.
- 1:23:42SPEAKER_02: And you go out and you take a hike, you're at the trees, and then there's the birds, and then you naturally your circadian rhythm slows down because you don't need to be fight or flight.
- 1:23:52SPEAKER_02: You're not like running from a lion because you're about to get eaten because you're it's a dinner.
- 1:23:55SPEAKER_02: Yeah, so I feel like that's a good pendulum kind of swing to give like contrast on both ends.
- 1:24:01SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:24:01SPEAKER_02: For that's what I need to do more of.
- 1:24:03SPEAKER_02: I I mean, I'm in this fucking office all the time with technology and screens, and I need to go like be in nature, go take a walk, uh, take a hike, you know, that type of thing.
- 1:24:13SPEAKER_02: Cause I think that um, you know, we just have to slow down.
- 1:24:16SPEAKER_04: Well, and I said it it it is interesting too, going back to Brad and I.
- 1:24:19SPEAKER_04: Like I say, 2020 was a great year.
- 1:24:21SPEAKER_04: Well, there was, I think in it was in 2024, there was um a little 2023, 2024, a little blip.
- 1:24:30SPEAKER_04: And it was really funny.
- 1:24:31SPEAKER_04: Uh Brad and I have a really good relationship, but our communication, we definitely communicate differently and probably not as much that we should be.
- 1:24:40SPEAKER_04: And so there was a little situation and it was really funny, or it's not, it wasn't funny.
- 1:24:45SPEAKER_04: It it was, I'm glad it all ended up well, but it what you know how you're so routined.
- 1:24:50SPEAKER_04: Yeah, you know, you come home, you do this, you do this, you do this.
- 1:24:52SPEAKER_04: Okay, and then okay, then everyone's going to bed.
- 1:24:54SPEAKER_04: Good night, love you, Mike.
- 1:24:55SPEAKER_04: Okay, you know.
- 1:24:56SPEAKER_04: Well, this was happening, and I just looked at him, I said, you know what?
- 1:25:01SPEAKER_04: Let's go sit outside at the pool.
- 1:25:03SPEAKER_04: And now, mind you, we got a pool.
- 1:25:06SPEAKER_04: I wanted a pool for my whole life.
- 1:25:08SPEAKER_04: And finally in 2020 of all years, we decided to get a pool, which took forever to build, but it's beautiful.
- 1:25:13SPEAKER_04: Uh, we just don't use it enough.
- 1:25:14SPEAKER_04: But let me tell you something, the eight dogs love the backyard, okay?
- 1:25:17SPEAKER_04: Yeah, there you go.
- 1:25:18SPEAKER_04: Um, but so I said to him, I said, you know what, let's just go sit outside.
- 1:25:21SPEAKER_04: And you know what it was?
- 1:25:23SPEAKER_04: We're not, we don't sit out back.
- 1:25:25SPEAKER_04: We don't sit outside.
- 1:25:26SPEAKER_04: Like, I don't know if Brad and I really have ever gone out back and just sat there.
- 1:25:30SPEAKER_04: So it was that moment that I said, let's just go sit out here.
- 1:25:33SPEAKER_04: And so we went outside and we just sat there.
- 1:25:37SPEAKER_04: And I think we had it was probably a 15-minute conversation, but it was the best conversation because it was just out of our routine, somewhere where we haven't been.
- 1:25:50SPEAKER_04: We just both stopped, which we hadn't ever done that.
- 1:25:55SPEAKER_03: Wow.
- 1:25:55SPEAKER_04: Where we just both stopped and we talked and we kind of worked through it and we laughed and we ended up laughing, and it, you know, I just said, dude, you know you've been with me for almost 24 or 5 years, you know.
- 1:26:07SPEAKER_04: We're we're we're stuck.
- 1:26:09SPEAKER_04: Yeah, you know, but it was it's like I say, just sometimes stopping and taking a walk in the forest or doing doing whatever the thing is, because it like I say, that was huge for us just to stop and change and just to take a minute.
- 1:26:24SPEAKER_04: I went over to this other, it was a client's house.
- 1:26:26SPEAKER_04: I was dropping something off.
- 1:26:27SPEAKER_04: Oh I messed up your rug.
- 1:26:29SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's good.
- 1:26:30SPEAKER_04: Brownie that um so um I anyway went over to their house.
- 1:26:35SPEAKER_04: She's pregnant with the fourth boy.
- 1:26:38SPEAKER_04: Then there were three little boys, probably under three, four, and then football was on with the dad and the father-in-law or whatever.
- 1:26:49SPEAKER_04: And I came and it was literally, I mean, just pure chaos.
- 1:26:54SPEAKER_04: And someone had to go somewhere.
- 1:26:55SPEAKER_04: So she's yelling at him, he's trying to yell at the kids.
- 1:26:59SPEAKER_04: I mean, it was a and I'm like, oh my God.
- 1:27:03SPEAKER_04: People with little children are in the throes of it right now.
- 1:27:06SPEAKER_04: Like it, it's you really have to make, and I didn't.
- 1:27:10SPEAKER_04: I wish I would have made a conscious effort to give myself a break, to give my husband a break, to give our relationship a break.
- 1:27:19SPEAKER_04: Because like I say, it wasn't till 2020 that then I was like, oh, you're Brad.
- 1:27:23SPEAKER_04: Nice to meet you.
- 1:27:24SPEAKER_04: I'm Susan.
- 1:27:25SPEAKER_03: Wow.
- 1:27:25SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:27:26SPEAKER_04: Because I just think you're you're you're a different person after you deal with yeah, and maybe you're fortunate to to have great healthy kids.
- 1:27:35SPEAKER_04: And there's one of my friends, she doesn't have a she doesn't have a medicine cabinet.
- 1:27:39SPEAKER_04: Like in our house, we have two medicine cabinets.
- 1:27:43SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 1:27:43SPEAKER_04: Filled with diabetes supplies, filled with my migraine medications, rescue medications, all the things.
- 1:27:49SPEAKER_04: And you know, so see, but but again, whatever you're crossed bear and you're, you know, to take to take a break.
- 1:27:58SPEAKER_04: I could say, I do I remember that.
- 1:28:00SPEAKER_04: Just little conversation with Brad, just stopping and going somewhere that we hadn't been and and stopping the chaos.
- 1:28:05SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 1:28:06SPEAKER_04: The dogs were inside, the kids were inside.
- 1:28:09SPEAKER_04: Let's we sat in the chairs and we looked at each other and it was like and you know.
- 1:28:14SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 1:28:15SPEAKER_02: I wish someone would have stopped me.
- 1:28:17SPEAKER_02: I I love that.
- 1:28:18SPEAKER_02: I think setting better intentions, that's one thing I think we don't all do enough.
- 1:28:23SPEAKER_02: Um, I had the conversation this week as well with my wife.
- 1:28:26SPEAKER_02: I'm like, I'm tired of the same thing.
- 1:28:29SPEAKER_02: I'm tired of you pick up Jordan, you come home, I have my last meeting, I go out there, we have dinner, and then you know, we're watching American Got Talent, now we're watching The Voice, and it's like it's cool, you know, and other people, their dreams or whatever, but it's like it's cooling off.
- 1:28:43SPEAKER_02: Like, let's go take a walk.
- 1:28:44SPEAKER_02: Let's just let's go do something different.
- 1:28:46SPEAKER_02: And then we ended up uh selling our washer and dryer because I was like, let's let's make something different for your tea setup.
- 1:28:53SPEAKER_02: And I'll show you after our show.
- 1:28:54SPEAKER_02: So we got a stand up instead of the side by side, and it was only a hundred dollar difference because our machines were only like five years old.
- 1:29:00SPEAKER_02: And so we did that, and then we set it up, and so it was just a nice contrast just to do something different because it's just like things go by so quick before you know it, you're like same, same, same routine.
- 1:29:10SPEAKER_02: And then what breaks it up?
- 1:29:12SPEAKER_02: Like, okay, a 15-minute conversation.
- 1:29:14SPEAKER_02: Yeah or okay, we're gonna go on this trip, and then God forbid, it's something negative that comes up because someone's in the hospital or you have an emergency or something like that.
- 1:29:22SPEAKER_02: So I think if we could slow down and do a better job, like I wanted to, I said invest voice memo, right?
- 1:29:29SPEAKER_02: For the show.
- 1:29:30SPEAKER_02: I wanted to set that intention with a voice memo.
- 1:29:33SPEAKER_02: And I did this exercise um with my team.
- 1:29:36SPEAKER_02: Money motivation.
- 1:29:37SPEAKER_02: I said, okay, let's just let's just pretend, let's just have fun.
- 1:29:40SPEAKER_02: What do we have to lose?
- 1:29:41SPEAKER_02: I said, and it kind of turned into a little bit of like a prayer.
- 1:29:44SPEAKER_02: But I said, you know, God, universe, divine, whatever you believe, right?
- 1:29:48SPEAKER_02: Whatever you said, I said, um, let's let's make this the best week ever.
- 1:29:53SPEAKER_02: And not only is it gonna be the best week ever, and it's gonna be ease and flow, and everything's gonna go the way it's supposed to, universe, God, divine, how about also give us a surprise?
- 1:30:04SPEAKER_02: Surprise us with something that we would never expect.
- 1:30:06SPEAKER_02: And I did that just because I was like, oh my God, when I do that before I go to sleep, like, how good can it get before I go to sleep?
- 1:30:12SPEAKER_02: And I say, how good can it get?
- 1:30:14SPEAKER_02: You know, uh, I want some amazing dreams.
- 1:30:16SPEAKER_02: And I go to sleep, I wake up, oh my god, I feel amazing.
- 1:30:19SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:30:19SPEAKER_02: You know, it's like, it's like when you tell yourself, I'm gonna get up at this time, you just do it instead of like setting an alarm and allowing alarm.
- 1:30:25SPEAKER_02: I've haven't used an alarm forever.
- 1:30:27SPEAKER_02: So I'm I'm kind of coaching myself here too.
- 1:30:31SPEAKER_04: Therapy for yourself.
- 1:30:32SPEAKER_04: I get it.
- 1:30:32SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:30:32SPEAKER_02: I have not the last two days I've been tired of this and that.
- 1:30:36SPEAKER_02: So, so you know, and I told my wife that too.
- 1:30:38SPEAKER_02: I said, I said, you gotta just go back to setting that intention.
- 1:30:41SPEAKER_02: Her and I and uh and my daughter went to pizza and we talked about the week and how it's gonna go.
- 1:30:45SPEAKER_02: And my wife said, Yeah, I'm gonna have three orders a day and all that type of stuff.
- 1:30:48SPEAKER_02: And then it happened.
- 1:30:49SPEAKER_02: And I'm like, I'm like, honey, we could do it again.
- 1:30:51SPEAKER_02: We just have to slow down, set those intentions again.
- 1:30:55SPEAKER_02: And you can't do it out of despair when you're like in it and you're like feeling like what's going on?
- 1:31:00SPEAKER_02: Why is this not working out?
- 1:31:01SPEAKER_02: What's happening?
- 1:31:01SPEAKER_02: And then you're like, show me how good it can get.
- 1:31:03SPEAKER_02: Like, no, it doesn't work that way.
- 1:31:04SPEAKER_02: No, okay, be enjoy.
- 1:31:06SPEAKER_02: Be enjoy, relax on a Sunday, and then put that out there and see what happens.
- 1:31:10SPEAKER_02: See what happens.
- 1:31:11SPEAKER_02: I agree with you, right?
- 1:31:12SPEAKER_04: And I again, prior to so many years ago, I would have never agreed with that, or like, you know, people like what you say is what happens.
- 1:31:20SPEAKER_04: These words are powerful, and if you're which I am, yeah, I I was, I'm much better.
- 1:31:27SPEAKER_04: I was very negative about I hated the way I looked, I hated the way, oh my god, hated the way I feel, I hated everything.
- 1:31:34SPEAKER_04: So there were and then again, they're doing more business, they're doing this.
- 1:31:38SPEAKER_04: You know, and my little sister has said, well, my family has said, you know, well, Brad too, like your confidence.
- 1:31:44SPEAKER_04: Like, like I I like my job, I like what I do, I love helping people.
- 1:31:49SPEAKER_04: Like to do this podcast, if you would have asked me last year to get on a podcast, really, oh my God.
- 1:31:55SPEAKER_04: And I would have ne I wouldn't have done it even remotely at all.
- 1:32:00SPEAKER_04: And and that's why I like with social media now.
- 1:32:02SPEAKER_04: I just have someone put it out there, and you know what?
- 1:32:04SPEAKER_04: It's it's okay.
- 1:32:05SPEAKER_04: It's a but you know, and another thing I do, it's so funny is because it's all the negative talk, there's so much negative talk in my head that then now I have um, I am full of peace.
- 1:32:16SPEAKER_04: And every this this uh gratitude message pops up, you know.
- 1:32:20SPEAKER_04: I love that from you a positive statement about yourself, dude.
- 1:32:25SPEAKER_01: And it's just congratulations.
- 1:32:27SPEAKER_01: Let's go.
- 1:32:28SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
- 1:32:29SPEAKER_04: But I think just just I mean, again, everyone's probably like, that's just crazy.
- 1:32:34SPEAKER_04: Like, breathe and give yourself a positive message.
- 1:32:37SPEAKER_04: Just those two things can make a huge difference.
- 1:32:41SPEAKER_02: I mean, well, think about it.
- 1:32:42SPEAKER_02: Everything you had to do in your life and everything I had to do in my life put us in this exact place where now we're serving whoever's watching now and all the things that you had to do to get to where you're at in your life for us all to come here and be able to like take a second and breathe and self-reflect and and look at the bigger picture of things.
- 1:33:04SPEAKER_02: And like, I mean, I don't know, I always saw you just as like a super bubbly, positive, awesome, outgoing person, you know, and like I got I got unapologetically like you because obviously like the tattoos and the and the freaking giant, like I'm gonna log you nails and all that type of stuff.
- 1:33:23SPEAKER_02: But uh, but no, I appreciate you trusting in on me and and trusting to come here and and the process.
- 1:33:32SPEAKER_02: And I hope this turns into who knows what.
- 1:33:34SPEAKER_02: Maybe it is the book that you talked about before we got on, you know, like because there there could be there there could I could write a book.
- 1:33:40SPEAKER_04: It's it's kind of funny with all the stuff.
- 1:33:42SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:33:42SPEAKER_04: But but I think that again, going back to when you're in the throes of all of this, you you know, you don't stop and then you beat yourself up.
- 1:33:49SPEAKER_04: You know, my kids aren't doing this or they're doing this, or someone else's kids is doing this.
- 1:33:54SPEAKER_04: You constantly negative thought and you know, beat yourself up.
- 1:33:58SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 1:33:58SPEAKER_04: That I mean, literally, you know, I I think I would say this year is the first year where I'm like, like I would never show my tattoo.
- 1:34:08SPEAKER_04: Well, first of all, I would have never gotten tattoos on my arms.
- 1:34:10SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 1:34:11SPEAKER_04: How long have you had the tattoos for?
- 1:34:12SPEAKER_04: Well, I started when I was 40.
- 1:34:14SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 1:34:14SPEAKER_04: And now it was a catalyst, like why?
- 1:34:17SPEAKER_04: Because I I felt I was slowly trying to become.
- 1:34:24SPEAKER_04: I realized that that event in 20, I I realize this now.
- 1:34:29SPEAKER_04: And the event that happened in 2010 with the migraine changed me.
- 1:34:32SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 1:34:33SPEAKER_04: Uh you know, and it took me 10 years to figure that out.
- 1:34:36SPEAKER_04: I'm not the same person that I was pre-that event.
- 1:34:40SPEAKER_03: Well, hello, nice to meet you.
- 1:34:42SPEAKER_03: Welcome.
- 1:34:42SPEAKER_03: I'm Susan Sieber.
- 1:34:43SPEAKER_02: Thank you.
- 1:34:44SPEAKER_02: Oh, awesome.
- 1:34:44SPEAKER_02: Good to have you on the show.
- 1:34:46SPEAKER_04: But it took that long to finally figure out who I was.
- 1:34:50SPEAKER_04: And so I went in it, I went and was just gonna get three flowers from my wedding and then the bo Brad and the boys' names, just something real simple.
- 1:34:58SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:34:58SPEAKER_04: It was really interesting.
- 1:35:00SPEAKER_04: We had lost a child um uh early on, and this person that did the tattoo did three open flowers, and then at the very top, for some reason, he put a flower that wasn't open.
- 1:35:14SPEAKER_04: And so it's the three flowers for the boys.
- 1:35:18SPEAKER_04: And then how did he know to put a flower that wasn't open that was divine?
- 1:35:24SPEAKER_04: A thousand percent.
- 1:35:25SPEAKER_03: Wow.
- 1:35:26SPEAKER_04: Yes, yes, it was unbelievable.
- 1:35:28SPEAKER_04: But that was my first tattoo, and then as I continued to grow and to heal and to try and come out and figure out who I was, the tattoos just became a story.
- 1:35:39SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 1:35:40SPEAKER_04: And I have tattooed my whole back is tattooed down down my legs.
- 1:35:45SPEAKER_04: Again, my mother would have a heart attack.
- 1:35:46SPEAKER_00: Then I'm sure Brad, how does he feel about it?
- 1:35:49SPEAKER_04: Loves it.
- 1:35:50SPEAKER_04: You know it, loves it, loves it.
- 1:35:53SPEAKER_04: A whole new wife.
- 1:35:54SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I said he's he he has he's the only guy that likes short hair and I'm covered in tattoos.
- 1:35:58SPEAKER_04: He doesn't have any.
- 1:36:00SPEAKER_04: Wow, what?
- 1:36:01SPEAKER_04: Yeah, he's that's again, but it just goes to show the contrast of us, and I think that's why we've lasted so long.
- 1:36:07SPEAKER_04: But you know, I I've got these tattoos, and I think it just became the story of of healing.
- 1:36:13SPEAKER_04: I think the tattoos were my way of healing.
- 1:36:16SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 1:36:16SPEAKER_04: And going to the tattoo shop, everyone says, Oh, didn't they hurt?
- 1:36:20SPEAKER_04: No, I fall asleep.
- 1:36:21SPEAKER_04: Really?
- 1:36:22SPEAKER_04: Yes, it's almost like therapy.
- 1:36:25SPEAKER_04: Weirdest thing.
- 1:36:27SPEAKER_04: But on my back, which again, uh my mom's gonna have a heart attack, but um, I have a a a skull and then wrapped around all these pretty flowers.
- 1:36:38SPEAKER_04: And you know, I've never shared this.
- 1:36:40SPEAKER_04: What am I doing?
- 1:36:41SPEAKER_04: Wow.
- 1:36:41SPEAKER_04: Well, if it if it's not been this has never been published.
- 1:36:44SPEAKER_02: It is so natural then give it to us.
- 1:36:47SPEAKER_04: Well, but it's the the skull is my dead self.
- 1:36:52SPEAKER_04: Oh for all those years, I didn't I wasn't happy at all.
- 1:36:57SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 1:36:58SPEAKER_04: And I was just trying to make it through the day to get to my alcohol, to get to my books, because I'd read books to get out of my reality.
- 1:37:08SPEAKER_03: Wow.
- 1:37:09SPEAKER_04: You know, so it was just this cycle of it, just was not good.
- 1:37:14SPEAKER_04: But anyway, I can look back and know that you know it's all part of the process, why we're here.
- 1:37:19SPEAKER_04: I like that.
- 1:37:19SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:37:19SPEAKER_04: But you know, my tattoos are a little much.
- 1:37:22SPEAKER_04: A lot of them are tied to the skulls and all that, but it's just the whole contrast of I was in such a dark space for so long, and now I'm not.
- 1:37:31SPEAKER_04: So it's my therapy of putting it on, you know, like the roots.
- 1:37:36SPEAKER_04: And then I got into books, and then I grew into this pretty flower, or over here, half the tree is a skull, half the tree is a butterfly.
- 1:37:43SPEAKER_04: Um, you know, these are the butterflies with all my babies, and it's just my way of I don't know.
- 1:37:50SPEAKER_04: Wow, I think I just had a therapy session with myself.
- 1:37:53SPEAKER_02: That is badass.
- 1:37:55SPEAKER_02: You know what it just came up for?
- 1:37:56SPEAKER_02: I was just thinking when you were talking, I was like, what if the cover of your book was the back tattoo?
- 1:38:03SPEAKER_04: Let me tell you something.
- 1:38:04SPEAKER_04: That would be sick.
- 1:38:05SPEAKER_04: I would freaking love it.
- 1:38:07SPEAKER_04: I can I get chills.
- 1:38:08SPEAKER_04: I I I said my my poor 80-year-old mom and dad.
- 1:38:12SPEAKER_04: They're just mortified the tattoos.
- 1:38:15SPEAKER_04: But I I like I say, it's it's my thing.
- 1:38:19SPEAKER_02: You know, it's my story.
- 1:38:21SPEAKER_02: And that's you know, there's so many different ways to express.
- 1:38:24SPEAKER_02: And uh, and I love that for you.
- 1:38:26SPEAKER_02: Absolutely love that for you.
- 1:38:27SPEAKER_02: I mean, I have like, what are you committed to?
- 1:38:29SPEAKER_02: So my whole body, all my tattoos are I can relate to you from the perspective of like I wanted to be like a walking billboard.
- 1:38:36SPEAKER_02: So then, like, what are you committed to uh deter from evil half faith?
- 1:38:41SPEAKER_02: The yin and yang, fire and ice, like go big or on here's or or go home.
- 1:38:46SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 1:38:46SPEAKER_02: Uh the guy he was joking about go homo.
- 1:38:49SPEAKER_02: Go big and go homo.
- 1:38:50SPEAKER_02: Yeah, uh the Chevy, the Chevy tattoo with uh there's a BB with blood dripping off.
- 1:38:55SPEAKER_02: My best friend shot me point blank with a CO2-powered BB gun an inch from my eye, could have been paralyzed when I was 18.
- 1:39:01SPEAKER_02: Um, and then Paul Sellick.
- 1:39:03SPEAKER_02: So I got into this whole series.
- 1:39:05SPEAKER_02: There's a seven book series called Paul Sellick.
- 1:39:07SPEAKER_02: Um, and the most powerful words in the book was I am word with the heart with all the colors.
- 1:39:14SPEAKER_02: Because a lot of times we don't think about this when you say like I am ugly or I am this.
- 1:39:17SPEAKER_02: I am those are like words, are like spells, they're powerful.
- 1:39:21SPEAKER_02: So I like love that quote, I am, and I just put the word with the heart, and then Mr.
- 1:39:25SPEAKER_02: Liftoff with the little rocket ship.
- 1:39:27SPEAKER_02: And then um, this was supposed to be my only one.
- 1:39:29SPEAKER_02: Norman Lloyd Kinsey III was my only one I was supposed to get.
- 1:39:32SPEAKER_02: And then now I got like life is what you make it, and then I have Angel here, got a devil here, strength in the back, and I have the Filipino flag.
- 1:39:40SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah.
- 1:39:40SPEAKER_02: On my on my on I'm gonna put the American one on my other one.
- 1:39:44SPEAKER_02: So one step in America, yeah, and then one step in the Philippines.
- 1:39:47SPEAKER_04: I love that.
- 1:39:48SPEAKER_02: So that way it's like even if you you know strip it all off, like I'm still a walking symbol for you know what is possible and and just and just whatever it is what it is.
- 1:39:59SPEAKER_04: You know, I I agree with you.
- 1:40:01SPEAKER_04: And and I think I think if I was gonna say if I was a walking billboard, I think I would agree with that.
- 1:40:06SPEAKER_04: I I would say that you know what?
- 1:40:08SPEAKER_04: What when you're in the throes of your life and it's not real good, if you just keep your head down and try and keep working and know that there's an end, which you just hope that there's an end, which I didn't know there was an end.
- 1:40:18SPEAKER_04: I thought the end would have been me driving off the loop on the 202.
- 1:40:22SPEAKER_04: Wow.
- 1:40:22SPEAKER_04: That's what I thought my end would have been.
- 1:40:24SPEAKER_04: But you know what?
- 1:40:25SPEAKER_04: I had good family, I had great friends, I have a great husband, I have great kids.
- 1:40:30SPEAKER_04: And, you know, I got through it.
- 1:40:32SPEAKER_04: And so here I am.
- 1:40:33SPEAKER_04: Like, you know what?
- 1:40:34SPEAKER_04: Sometimes you can have a dark part in your life.
- 1:40:36SPEAKER_04: Yeah, but are you gonna let it define you or are you gonna rise above it and use it as a lesson?
- 1:40:40SPEAKER_02: Oh my God.
- 1:40:41SPEAKER_02: Amen to that.
- 1:40:42SPEAKER_02: And and how you're telling your story and putting it out there, you know, from a public sense.
- 1:40:48SPEAKER_02: I mean, your kids, your husband, they've probably never even seen nor heard half of what you're like talking about.
- 1:40:55SPEAKER_02: No.
- 1:40:55SPEAKER_02: So if they do watch this, they do have an opportunity to reflect, they'll say, like, wow, like I could see how much mom went through and my wife's went through to get to where she's at today and and how beautiful the story is, which could be the catalyst to the books or helping more women, or who knows what it's gonna be.
- 1:41:13SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:41:13SPEAKER_02: But uh, but yeah, I think it's just the beginning to so much more for you.
- 1:41:17SPEAKER_04: I think you're right.
- 1:41:18SPEAKER_02: I'm so grateful to like have the opportunity to like be the catalyst in this change.
- 1:41:23SPEAKER_02: Like, I this like we just met.
- 1:41:25SPEAKER_02: This is the second time.
- 1:41:26SPEAKER_02: Uh shout out to Jet.
- 1:41:27SPEAKER_02: She's the one that connected us.
- 1:41:29SPEAKER_02: Thank you.
- 1:41:29SPEAKER_02: Like, she literally like thought we should connect and co-create in this like podcast type of way, uh, which is beautiful.
- 1:41:36SPEAKER_02: And you know, you just you just don't know what you don't know.
- 1:41:39SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it just and it just happened organically.
- 1:41:41SPEAKER_02: It's crazy.
- 1:41:42SPEAKER_04: It it it really is.
- 1:41:43SPEAKER_04: And I'm I am really thankful because and it's it's interesting again, who's in control?
- 1:41:48SPEAKER_04: A couple of these little situations that have happened to now I just kind of put it all together for myself.
- 1:41:56SPEAKER_02: Yeah, like I just held space for you.
- 1:41:58SPEAKER_02: I was just here like listening, you know, and it's like sometimes I feel like when you have someone, because like I'm not a therapist or anything, I'm just a host.
- 1:42:05SPEAKER_02: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:42:05SPEAKER_02: You know, I was just listening.
- 1:42:07SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and when I think sometimes when people just hold space for someone else, just feel like, hey, this is what's coming up for me, and like this is what's going on.
- 1:42:13SPEAKER_02: And then, you know, I like to self-reflect myself.
- 1:42:16SPEAKER_02: Half the shit that I learn or I grow from is like reading a book or listening to a podcast or self-reflecting, and I'm like, holy shit, you have a breakout moment, you know?
- 1:42:24SPEAKER_02: Yeah, so which is super cool, but uh, but that's awesome that like now, yeah, it's all coming clear for you.
- 1:42:30SPEAKER_02: That's so freaking awesome.
- 1:42:32SPEAKER_02: That was really cool.
- 1:42:33SPEAKER_02: That's really yeah.
- 1:42:35SPEAKER_02: Hopefully, it's coming clear for y'all too, as you listen to this and you digest this and you hear this, because yeah, I mean, I think that it's for everyone, right?
- 1:42:44SPEAKER_02: It's for everyone.
- 1:42:45SPEAKER_04: It really is.
- 1:42:46SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it it really is.
- 1:42:47SPEAKER_04: And I would love, I love talking and helping people, yeah, you know, remind them who they are.
- 1:42:58SPEAKER_02: I could tell.
- 1:42:58SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:42:59SPEAKER_02: I could tell.
- 1:42:59SPEAKER_02: You went through all that, and maybe that was the underlying silver lining for like the Lord to bless you to to help others understand who they really truly are.
- 1:43:07SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:43:07SPEAKER_02: And then they can be able to just really live life and prosper and enjoy.
- 1:43:12SPEAKER_02: And once you get past all of like the he said, she said, and the drama and the fear and all that type of stuff.
- 1:43:16SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 1:43:17SPEAKER_02: Honestly, like when you're light and airy and you're just enjoying life, it's so much more fun.
- 1:43:21SPEAKER_02: Oh my god.
- 1:43:22SPEAKER_02: We can have a great podcast if I'm thinking about the next appointment, what I have going on, or fucking the past or some bullshit.
- 1:43:28SPEAKER_04: And you know what else is interesting?
- 1:43:29SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:43:30SPEAKER_04: Is I I don't think I have ever done this where I don't have my phone.
- 1:43:37SPEAKER_03: Really?
- 1:43:37SPEAKER_03: Never.
- 1:43:38SPEAKER_03: Wow.
- 1:43:39SPEAKER_03: And let's go.
- 1:43:40SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:43:40SPEAKER_03: I mean Congrats.
- 1:43:42SPEAKER_04: I will, if I'm sitting at dinner, if I it doesn't matter what I'm doing, my phone is always answered.
- 1:43:49SPEAKER_04: And at least I'm looking at it so that then I respond.
- 1:43:52SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:43:53SPEAKER_04: And so I'm telling you what, the fact that I've been away and and what was happening pre-the moment before I touched your cat in my brain to now, like game changer.
- 1:44:06SPEAKER_02: Dude, hour 43 minutes, you haven't touched it.
- 1:44:09SPEAKER_02: Congratulations.
- 1:44:11SPEAKER_04: That's a record.
- 1:44:11SPEAKER_04: And everyone knows it.
- 1:44:12SPEAKER_04: They'll be like shocked.
- 1:44:14SPEAKER_02: Go.
- 1:44:15SPEAKER_02: The one thing about me is like if I'm in a meeting with someone, I do like to be present.
- 1:44:19SPEAKER_02: So that's when I do put my phone down and I don't um I don't do anything else.
- 1:44:24SPEAKER_02: You know, sometimes when my wife's talking, and depending on what she's already talking about, like I'm I'm very perceptive.
- 1:44:28SPEAKER_02: I can, I can I just as a Pisces, you just notice the small things.
- 1:44:33SPEAKER_02: For some reason, Pisces, it's like people feel compelled to open up to them.
- 1:44:37SPEAKER_02: And my wife's like, I don't know why everyone tells your whole fucking story.
- 1:44:40SPEAKER_02: I'm like, Well, I'm open too.
- 1:44:41SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 1:44:42SPEAKER_02: And so sometimes I do do that with her, um, or I'm having side fucking conversations because like I'm talking to the team and like you know, Jet just got a closing, and I'm like, congratulations.
- 1:44:51SPEAKER_02: Or like playing to this rummy with like my wife's mom and and her partner and whatever.
- 1:44:56SPEAKER_02: But yeah, I think there's something about just being present for a hot second, especially when you're with that person.
- 1:45:01SPEAKER_02: Because then it's just like, I just magical.
- 1:45:03SPEAKER_04: Well, and then that again, let's go back to a husband and wife.
- 1:45:06SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:45:07SPEAKER_04: You know, when you're having some downtime, are you both having downtime together or are you both on your phone?
- 1:45:14SPEAKER_04: And so again, and and I'll be honest, for I think for Brad and I, which I'm just having a little therapy for myself now, I think for Brad and I to have a good is to go back a couple years ago when we sat at the pool.
- 1:45:25SPEAKER_04: Like, Brad, you know what?
- 1:45:26SPEAKER_04: Let's not sit on the couch and watch a football game.
- 1:45:28SPEAKER_04: Let's take 15 minutes and go sit at the pool.
- 1:45:30SPEAKER_04: Or now that the weather's cooler, let's take Gus and go take him for a walk.
- 1:45:33SPEAKER_01: Let's go.
- 1:45:34SPEAKER_04: You know, just a little change.
- 1:45:36SPEAKER_04: It's Friday night.
- 1:45:37SPEAKER_04: Yeah, and to be intentional.
- 1:45:38SPEAKER_04: Because I think so many times we're not.
- 1:45:40SPEAKER_04: And you're exactly right.
- 1:45:41SPEAKER_04: It I have worked on that.
- 1:45:44SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:45:44SPEAKER_04: You know, but for an hour and 43 minutes to not have looked at my phone, yeah, that is a record.
- 1:45:49SPEAKER_02: That's amazing.
- 1:45:49SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:45:50SPEAKER_02: Just showing us the quote.
- 1:45:51SPEAKER_02: Uh of course, Brad's picture.
- 1:45:53SPEAKER_02: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:45:54SPEAKER_02: Instead of that, yeah.
- 1:45:55SPEAKER_02: Um, I mean, you could technically even calendar it.
- 1:45:58SPEAKER_02: You can put in the calendar too, and just say, hey, it's in the calendar, 15 minutes a night.
- 1:46:01SPEAKER_02: We're gonna walk, we're gonna talk.
- 1:46:02SPEAKER_02: We're gonna talk.
- 1:46:03SPEAKER_02: Whatever.
- 1:46:04SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 1:46:04SPEAKER_02: You know, yes.
- 1:46:06SPEAKER_02: You never know.
- 1:46:06SPEAKER_04: What can you say it, but you just gotta do it.
- 1:46:08SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:46:09SPEAKER_04: And that's you know what?
- 1:46:10SPEAKER_04: I think it's gonna put a kick in my ass.
- 1:46:12SPEAKER_04: Like, you know what, Brian, we need to do this.
- 1:46:14SPEAKER_04: This is ridiculous.
- 1:46:15SPEAKER_02: I love that.
- 1:46:16SPEAKER_02: Yeah, for me, I've been telling myself, oh yeah, like uh 45 minutes a day of cardio.
- 1:46:20SPEAKER_02: Like, I track all my macros, I do all this stuff, and I still have go back to the pooch, still have a little pooch here.
- 1:46:24SPEAKER_02: So I'm like, fuck.
- 1:46:26SPEAKER_02: So yesterday I did 28 at the gym, got the damn walking pad there.
- 1:46:29SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:46:29SPEAKER_02: So I was in a meeting for 35 minutes and just did the walking pad.
- 1:46:32SPEAKER_02: And then this morning, my wife and I did a nice run, and I was like, and I was like, honey, I remember we first started dating.
- 1:46:37SPEAKER_02: We used to like go on just fun runs.
- 1:46:40SPEAKER_02: And like, I used we used to live in um, so I was in California, yeah.
- 1:46:44SPEAKER_02: And so I'm in Walnut Creek, and the office is in Alamo.
- 1:46:47SPEAKER_02: And we used to just run to the freaking office in Alamo, or we would take a cool walk out of Sprouts, all this type of stuff.
- 1:46:52SPEAKER_02: She's like, Yeah, well, it's before we got you know pregnant and had Jordan, and now she complains about fucking walking too far or being hot and all the things.
- 1:46:59SPEAKER_02: And I'm like, oh my God, yeah.
- 1:47:01SPEAKER_02: You need a okay.
- 1:47:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:47:03SPEAKER_02: Noted.
- 1:47:03SPEAKER_02: I said, next time it's cool on a Saturday, run to your mom's house and have tea time.
- 1:47:07SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:47:07SPEAKER_02: And she's like, because we could run down the canal.
- 1:47:09SPEAKER_02: I didn't even think about it.
- 1:47:10SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:47:10SPEAKER_02: Because she lives off the canal, just over the freeway over there in Mesa.
- 1:47:14SPEAKER_02: And so I'm like, oh shit.
- 1:47:15SPEAKER_02: Okay, so we could do that now.
- 1:47:17SPEAKER_02: So it's little things like that.
- 1:47:18SPEAKER_02: I think when you like stop, you said earlier and breathe.
- 1:47:22SPEAKER_04: Just take a second.
- 1:47:22SPEAKER_02: Oh shit.
- 1:47:24SPEAKER_02: I agree.
- 1:47:24SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 1:47:25SPEAKER_02: I agree.
- 1:47:26SPEAKER_04: We were both over here.
- 1:47:27SPEAKER_04: I'm like, we're both like, hmm.
- 1:47:29SPEAKER_04: It looks like it's self-reflecting.
- 1:47:30SPEAKER_04: Like, yeah.
- 1:47:31SPEAKER_04: Oh shit.
- 1:47:31SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:47:32SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 1:47:32SPEAKER_04: Got it.
- 1:47:33SPEAKER_04: Noted.
- 1:47:33SPEAKER_04: This has been a big last few 10 minutes or so.
- 1:47:36SPEAKER_02: It has been.
- 1:47:37SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:47:37SPEAKER_02: It has been.
- 1:47:38SPEAKER_02: And that's why I think one of the reasons why I wanted to go two hours with the show is that I've learned that at about 30 minutes you start getting more comfortable.
- 1:47:46SPEAKER_02: At about 45 minutes almost to an hour, it starts to get good.
- 1:47:49SPEAKER_02: But then when you get to an hour and a half, then it's like holy shit.
- 1:47:54SPEAKER_02: It's a holy shit moment.
- 1:47:55SPEAKER_02: Because I feel like then you could start getting into this kind of like flow state, like almost like a professional athlete.
- 1:48:01SPEAKER_02: And then it's like, holy shit, you start bouncing stuff off each other.
- 1:48:04SPEAKER_02: Then audiences, like, holy, you know.
- 1:48:06SPEAKER_02: So so that's where I think that, like, and it's cool too because how many people out there are gonna spend two hours watching a podcast?
- 1:48:12SPEAKER_02: Not that many.
- 1:48:12SPEAKER_02: Not that many.
- 1:48:13SPEAKER_02: Not that many.
- 1:48:14SPEAKER_02: So so for me, like if you're still watching, you're a fucking real one, dude.
- 1:48:17SPEAKER_02: A rock star.
- 1:48:17SPEAKER_02: You're a rock star.
- 1:48:18SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:48:18SPEAKER_02: Like, thank you so much.
- 1:48:20SPEAKER_02: What's your biggest takeaway?
- 1:48:21SPEAKER_02: Comment below if you're on YouTube with that.
- 1:48:23SPEAKER_02: Um, but yeah, that's where it's just like we all we want to get the views up.
- 1:48:26SPEAKER_02: But I don't, I don't do any of this shit.
- 1:48:27SPEAKER_02: I don't, I don't, I'm not monetizing, I'm not offering to buy anything.
- 1:48:31SPEAKER_02: You can like and subscribe if you want, but I don't I don't even make that like a like a thing.
- 1:48:35SPEAKER_02: Because I feel like too many entities want to fucking monetize money, this, that.
- 1:48:40SPEAKER_02: I'm so blessed that like I have lift off that I can I could sit here for two hours and just chill out and have a conversation.
- 1:48:47SPEAKER_02: Nothing need to worry about.
- 1:48:49SPEAKER_04: But but you're right, every time you turn around and and you want to listen or do something good, yeah.
- 1:48:53SPEAKER_04: It it they there was this little event that I wanted to do, and I thought I could get this new friend of mine from Be Queen and my sister and some other friends and do it.
- 1:49:04SPEAKER_04: It was, I don't know, it was some, it was maybe I think it was like a yoga event or you know, whatever.
- 1:49:08SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 1:49:08SPEAKER_04: Oh my god.
- 1:49:09SPEAKER_04: It was like$150 per person.
- 1:49:11SPEAKER_04: Oh wow.
- 1:49:11SPEAKER_04: I'm like, can we just and I think okay, now we're gonna really open up.
- 1:49:16SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:49:16SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 1:49:17SPEAKER_04: So here's a little secret.
- 1:49:18SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 1:49:18SPEAKER_04: I haven't put it out in the unit, well, I haven't put it out on social yet, but I talked with my little sister, uh, Carrie, and we're actually gonna start um I think a co-work Wednesday.
- 1:49:28SPEAKER_04: Ooh.
- 1:49:29SPEAKER_04: And we're gonna be at the vibe where my office is at over at Gilbert and um Jermaine.
- 1:49:34SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 1:49:35SPEAKER_04: But I don't care where you work, but if you work from home and you're needing to get out, come at nine o'clock, nine to twelve, nine to one, whatever it is.
- 1:49:46SPEAKER_04: But everyone come and let's just get together and work because something you know, Carrie has a lot of good skills and stuff with like real estate with a well with a lot of everything.
- 1:49:53SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:49:53SPEAKER_04: And she's gonna be available to help people.
- 1:49:55SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 1:49:56SPEAKER_04: I love talking real estate with people.
- 1:49:57SPEAKER_04: I love just talking to people, it doesn't matter what.
- 1:50:00SPEAKER_04: job you're in.
- 1:50:01SPEAKER_04: But again, sometimes I think when we work from home or you know, you you you lose that.
- 1:50:06SPEAKER_04: You lose that touch because now everyone's just I mean, let's be honest, who thinks anymore?
- 1:50:10SPEAKER_04: Or they just ask AI to write it and they change it up and then they hit send.
- 1:50:13SPEAKER_04: Yep.
- 1:50:14SPEAKER_04: You know, but having a face-to-face, having people come in and so anyway, I think we're gonna try and do that just to have people come together and get out of their house and um Carrie can help them with things or I can help them.
- 1:50:25SPEAKER_04: And again, it doesn't cost you anything.
- 1:50:28SPEAKER_02: No.
- 1:50:28SPEAKER_04: Just come on.
- 1:50:29SPEAKER_02: No, I love that.
- 1:50:30SPEAKER_02: I think my wife, she needs to go.
- 1:50:32SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:50:33SPEAKER_02: If you want to go, information's down below.
- 1:50:36SPEAKER_02: Go follow her on social media, check it out.
- 1:50:38SPEAKER_02: I mean I would be down just to come too and just say hey.
- 1:50:40SPEAKER_02: And just say hey you know I think that would be awesome.
- 1:50:43SPEAKER_04: Oh my God.
- 1:50:44SPEAKER_02: I like that.
- 1:50:45SPEAKER_04: I'm having a pretty good end of this conversation.
- 1:50:47SPEAKER_04: Yeah I am I'm gonna put it out on I'm gonna put it out on social today.
- 1:50:50SPEAKER_04: See what happens.
- 1:50:51SPEAKER_04: Yeah and you know I I think it would be something fun something good and free.
- 1:50:58SPEAKER_02: I like that.
- 1:50:58SPEAKER_02: Just be with people.
- 1:51:00SPEAKER_02: I like that a lot.
- 1:51:00SPEAKER_02: Yeah I think that if if if you're gonna charge for something I think that being more transparent about hey this is why we're charging this is where the money's going because I think the biggest thing is we're tired of not understanding what we're actually spending our money on.
- 1:51:14SPEAKER_02: And that's what we're getting in the social and economical times.
- 1:51:17SPEAKER_02: And it's just like it's ridiculous.
- 1:51:19SPEAKER_02: Yeah it really is you like vote for this person and think this person's gonna change this or change that and you're like I don't even know what they're doing day to day and and like and then like you see all the signs around it's like where's the QR codes to watch their video or go to their social media and see their family and their dog and who they are as a fucking person.
- 1:51:34SPEAKER_02: I don't care about you know that I I want to know who they are.
- 1:51:38SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 1:51:38SPEAKER_02: Yeah and that is not even available in in the social economical times from any of the powers to be from the perspective of the uh the the you know the government ordinance which is so sad.
- 1:51:50SPEAKER_02: But I like that you're doing it for free.
- 1:51:51SPEAKER_02: Yeah and just come have a good time.
- 1:51:53SPEAKER_04: Yeah and it's there's no you know underlined kind of whatever because I know one of my a couple of my friends that I hope come aren't in real estate.
- 1:52:02SPEAKER_04: So just being clear that this isn't just for real estate but an example for me in real estate is when I started real estate eight years ago every time I turned around everyone wanted 20%.
- 1:52:14SPEAKER_04: If I'm gonna help you you're gonna pay me 20% if you do this it's gonna be five percent yeah like every time I turned around someone wanted me to pay them and I just had a freaking question.
- 1:52:24SPEAKER_04: You know or I just needed a little guidance on whatever and everyone wanted to pay for it.
- 1:52:30SPEAKER_04: Anything you do in this industry now everyone wants paid for it.
- 1:52:34SPEAKER_02: It's so true.
- 1:52:35SPEAKER_04: I mean I have a new young guy um that started and he he's just started his Zillow leads and he's so excited and he and he but yet he didn't know he was getting his Zillow leads so he has to leave for a week because he's gonna go door knocking to try and make a little money.
- 1:52:48SPEAKER_04: And he was all worried I said listen you go and you know between my husband who's also an agent my middle son who's an agent you know we're gonna you you get the calls you send us we're gonna take care of you all week.
- 1:52:58SPEAKER_04: Don't worry about it.
- 1:52:59SPEAKER_04: I love it.
- 1:53:00SPEAKER_04: How much I'm not I'm just gonna help you.
- 1:53:04SPEAKER_04: I'm not don't pay me I'm gonna help you I mean let's go starting yeah you finally got your Zillow leads yeah good for you but you need to make a little money I get it fuck yeah you know uh we got you just go make your money get back and I got it going.
- 1:53:20SPEAKER_04: So again things like that I I love I get excited about and I'm excited to do it for him.
- 1:53:25SPEAKER_02: And um again if everyone would just be a little bit more yeah um nice less gated less gated or nice because everyone wants to have the gate yeah you got to pay to get past the gate to be able to get the information whether it's school network or you're buying the next course and then you buy the course and then you buy five courses and then you're like oh shit I don't even remember the first course I bought.
- 1:53:48SPEAKER_02: Well it's too late now it's it is what it is.
- 1:53:50SPEAKER_02: It's what it is.
- 1:53:50SPEAKER_02: And that's why for us like I spend I've spent countless 30 minute strategy call turns into an hour because I'm going over their goals and I'm going over the service and I'm going over how they can integrate and the things you need to do and all that type of stuff.
- 1:54:04SPEAKER_02: And I just do it because I enjoy it and I'm not expecting like I literally just had a call with uh it's called um so they're on Rules Reverse Technology and it's called Nesthub and they help you from the transaction portion.
- 1:54:17SPEAKER_02: So when you have the transaction and you're going through and you're showing homes it's a portal to be able to show comparable on homes and then if one gets sold, like why it got sold pricing she's a it's a really cool way to be able to like give more information to the buyer who's gonna be buying a home.
- 1:54:33SPEAKER_02: And so uh Kate's her name she was on Rollsiverse technology I said let's meet I'm really curious about what you're doing.
- 1:54:38SPEAKER_02: So she's back home in the Bay Area where I used to live and I said hey if you want any help I can easily help you by finding someone from the Philippines um I would love to be on your your advisory board.
- 1:54:48SPEAKER_02: I said don't even worry about money I said we'll figure out when the time comes or equity sake whatever the case may be I said I just I want to be around more like minded people that are inspired to do something more.
- 1:55:00SPEAKER_02: So she's inspired she was a real estate agent for a long time still is now she's building this tech thing I've been in the tech world for 14 plus years and so it's just it was just a fun conversation right before our conversation.
- 1:55:11SPEAKER_04: Yeah again it's it's just little things and does it it makes you feel so much better.
- 1:55:16SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah I mean it goes back to just simply letting a car in front of you if you just come off that gas a minute and let that car in it feels kind of good.
- 1:55:27SPEAKER_02: It does it's but it's just doing something that little that can make yourself feel so I have an interesting story saying about speaking of like feeling so good.
- 1:55:36SPEAKER_02: So I have cars like cars.
- 1:55:39SPEAKER_02: Yes and then I was I love your cars by the way thank you so much I was like today's the GTR day.
- 1:55:44SPEAKER_02: So I drive to the gym to the GTR get in the car about to leave my buddy comes walking up he owns um shout out uh roofing company um don't kill me bro but it'll come to me he has uh Pro Guard Pro Guard roofing really good dude and um and he doesn't charged anything he'll check your roof for shirt for free the whole nine so him and his girlfriend's coming out and another guy and he used to have a GTR doesn't have one now.
- 1:56:07SPEAKER_02: So I give him a couple little revs and they're like heck yeah and I'm like have a good day and we're driving down and my wife understands that like it was a big goal of mine 10 years to get it whatever the case may be she's not a car person but she she understands and so this lady I'll stop at the light and she's coming up she's about to make a right and um hit the freeway and she's like oh my god you made my day this is my absolute dream car.
- 1:56:28SPEAKER_02: So I gave it a couple revs and I was like oh that's awesome I said have a good day she's like you too and she was so just you could tell that she was so genuine she was just so in genuine like so close to her goal.
- 1:56:39SPEAKER_02: It was right in front of her right and we couldn't get not get emotional.
- 1:56:43SPEAKER_02: We both got emotional my wife's cheering up I'm tearing up and it was just such a beautiful moment and and it wasn't even so much about the car it was about the transfer of that moment of that energy and and and just it took me 10 years and I'm sitting in it and then she's here and it was just like wow full circle full circle freaking moment here to serve those who we once were yeah yes I love that right here to serve others that we once were who we once were it's such an interesting it really is a simple quote that is exact let me go back to the people at the Big Queen I did see I I was the mother with the pooch.
- 1:57:22SPEAKER_04: Yes miserable by the way my body looked you know I was just weeks ago like without a team by myself working from home and here we are men wow we're gonna stop it right there.
