- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome back to the Epstein Chronicles.
- 0:05In today's episode, we're gonna be talking a little bit
- 0:07more about Leon Black and the lawsuit that he has
- 0:11going on with his accuser, who says that she was
- 0:15trafficked to Leon Black by her cheerleading coach. Well, now
- 0:19that cheerleading coach has responded to those allegations and she
- 0:24says none of it ever happened. So let's dive into
- 0:27this article from the Daily Beast and let's see what
- 0:30Kate Bricklett has for us headline, cheerleading coach, I never
- 0:35trafficked teen girl to Leon Black. This article was authored
- 0:39by Kate Bricklett, And what is she supposed to say? Oh, yeah,
- 0:43I was engaging in that I trafficked that girl to
- 0:46Leon Black. I brought her over to Leon Black's house.
- 0:50That would be incriminating and she'd be setting herself up
- 0:53for criminal charges if she admitted that. So taking what
- 0:56she has to say here at face value is probably
- 0:59not the right way to go. We're gonna need some
- 1:02evidence one way or the other. Not long after, a
- 1:06woman sewed Leon Black, claiming he raped her at sex
- 1:09trafficker Jeffrey Epstein's New York townhouse when she was just
- 1:12sixteen years old. The billionaire targeted her lawyers with a
- 1:16request for sanctions. The private equity moguls attorneys argue that
- 1:21Whigdor LLP, the firm representing Jane Though, failed to properly
- 1:26vetter claims, and that Doe's own family has questioned her
- 1:30accusations and said she has a long history of dreaming
- 1:33up alternate realities. Wigdor denies Black's allegation, and there's a
- 1:39lot to unpack here, There's no doubt about it. We
- 1:41always have to keep in mind people making false claims.
- 1:45That does happen. But when we're dealing with Jeffrey Epstein
- 1:49and his bullshit, I am much more inclined to listen
- 1:52to what people have to say and believe what they
- 1:55have to say because there's such a track record here
- 1:58of this happening. So whenever anybody comes out with claims
- 2:02against Epstein or his pals, you better believe that I'm listening. Now,
- 2:07that doesn't mean that every single claim that is made
- 2:10is true, So we have to make sure that we're
- 2:12paying attention to what's going on and that people aren't
- 2:15trying to benefit personally off of other people's tragedy, and
- 2:19unfortunately we have seen that several times here when it
- 2:22comes to Jeffrey Epstein. While Black's lawyer Susan Estrich submitted
- 2:27a memorandum in support of sanctions in September, a redacted
- 2:31version of the document was filed to the court docket
- 2:34this week, along with declarations from Black's private investigator and Elizabeth,
- 2:39a former cheerleading mentor of the accuser who is a
- 2:43central figure in those lawsuits. As The Daily Beast reported,
- 2:48those can plaint alleges that Elizabeth groomed her before sending
- 2:52her into the clutches of predator Epstein and his accomplice
- 2:55Gallainne Maxwell, who then handed her off the Black to
- 2:59be a used in twenty twenty two. According to the suit,
- 3:04Doe's abuse began soon after she signed up for the
- 3:08then forty something Elizabeth's cheerleading program. The filing alleges that
- 3:13while Doe live with Elizabeth in high school, the coach
- 3:16and her male partner forced her to watch them have sex.
- 3:20So Doe has made a whole bunch of claims. She
- 3:23has said that this cheerleading coach was the person the
- 3:27conduit who sent her into the clutches of Maxwell and
- 3:31of Epstein. Well, according to this cheerleading coach, none of
- 3:34that happened. Now. Like I said in the opening, we
- 3:38have to keep in mind that if the cheerleading coach
- 3:40admitted to any of this, she'd be leaving herself open
- 3:44took criminal charges. So for self preservation purposes, the obvious
- 3:49move is to deny that it ever happened. Now. In
- 3:53a newly unsealed declaration, one of Doe's former mentors says
- 3:57she believes she's the Elizabeth referenced in the complaint and
- 4:01challenge those claims as untrue. I have never physically, sexually
- 4:06or psychologically abused plaintiff, the woman stated in the court filing,
- 4:11before denying some of Thoo's other claims, including that she
- 4:15threatened Doe with a gun and force Doe to watch
- 4:17her have sex. And those are some serious, serious claims,
- 4:21claims that can ruin people's lives. So if these allegations
- 4:25are not true and that's provable, well, the person who's
- 4:28making the claims, they should face some justice as well,
- 4:32because if this lady isn't involved here and you're dragging
- 4:36her name in the mud, like this, she should have
- 4:38some kind of recourse. No. Now, look, I'm not saying
- 4:41that that's the case. I don't know. I wasn't there.
- 4:44But anybody who would make false claims like this is
- 4:48somebody that should be punished because there's way too many
- 4:51stories out there of this really happening for people to
- 4:55go and make false claims and make it harder for
- 4:58actual victims to really come forward and get the help
- 5:01they need. So there has to be some kind of
- 5:03penalty for people that are messing around. During the entire
- 5:07time I knew her plaintiff never mentioned Jeffrey Epstein, Glene Maxwell,
- 5:11Sarah Kellen, or Leon Black. I have no reasonab believe
- 5:15she has ever met any of them, let alone that
- 5:18she was abused by them, as alleged in her complaint.
- 5:21The mentor claimed Dough participated in the cheerleading program as
- 5:26a sixteen year old and could not have fit into
- 5:28a uniform for eight to twelve year olds, as Dough
- 5:32claimed in her suit. Now, look, the court's going to
- 5:35look at all of this, and they're going to take
- 5:37a look at what everybody's saying as far as testimony,
- 5:41and that's how they're going to render their decision, and
- 5:43if anybody thought that Leon Black, of all people, was
- 5:46going to take this laying down, they have not been
- 5:49paying attention to who Leon Black is and to what
- 5:52Apollo Global used to be under him. She added that
- 5:57Dough briefly live with her after graduate wedding high school
- 6:00in two thousand and three, since her home was close
- 6:03to Doe's college. To be clear, plaintiff never live with
- 6:07me or stayed overnight with me while she was in
- 6:09high school, the mentor continued. The woman said that if
- 6:12those allegations are referring to her, they're completely untrue. In
- 6:17her own legal memorandum filed on Wednesday night, Doe's lawyer,
- 6:21Gene M. Christensen argue that Black's use of Elizabeth's declaration
- 6:25to try to show that Whigdor failed to reasonably investigate
- 6:30is absurd. As evident by Miss Doe's complaint, the conduct
- 6:34that Elizabeth engaged in could potentially subject Elizabeth to criminal charges.
- 6:40Christiansen stated, one thousand percent, you say something like that,
- 6:44you're leaving yourself open to a whole host of criminal
- 6:48charges come in your way. A self serving declaration from
- 6:52a person who helps sexually exploit Miss Doe is not
- 6:56proof of anything in connection with Whigdor's preltigation to do diligence.
- 7:01This is material for Black's public relations and media outlet
- 7:05tor So basically, she's saying that all of this has
- 7:08to do with trying to sway public opinion and trying
- 7:12to make it look like Leon Black is getting railroaded.
- 7:16The sanctions motion, Christensen added, was intended to publicly disseminate
- 7:21the message that those allegations are false. While injecting his
- 7:24own counter statements of fact, Christiansen said the glaring omission
- 7:29of an affid David from a single person referenced as
- 7:32the family and friends upon whom Black's private investigator relied
- 7:37to create his conclusion of fact speaks volumes. Christensen told
- 7:42The Daily Beast that Black's motion for sanctions is a
- 7:46blatant attempt to punish and intimidate our client, who was
- 7:50a miner when she alleges Black violently sexually assaulted her
- 7:54at Epstein's townhouse. Black wants to punish Whigdor for representing
- 7:59her and and he hopes his bullying will deter other
- 8:02lawyers and victims. Christiansen added, Black shamefully acts as if
- 8:06he is a victim, as if a billionaire who paid
- 8:09Epstein one hundred and fifty million dollars for purported legal
- 8:13and tax advice, even though Epstein was a human sex trafficker,
- 8:17not a lawyer or tax advisor, has nothing to hide.
- 8:22She's not wrong about any of that either. There needs
- 8:25to be a serious inquiry into Leon Black's relationship with
- 8:29Jeffrey Epstein. And I don't mean that bs we see
- 8:32in the Senate. This is why I get so aggravated
- 8:35that there wasn't a Rico case here, because all of
- 8:38this would have been squared away by now. Christiansen repeated
- 8:43her assertion that Black's attempt at sanctions were meant to
- 8:46intimidate and retaliate against Doe in a September seventh letter
- 8:50to Estrich Fild As an exhibit Black's position that declarations
- 8:56and statements from parties directly opposed to Miss Doe, including
- 9:00her a strange birth parents, the woman she alleges facilitated
- 9:03her trafficking, and close associates of Jeffrey Epstein, conclusively establishes
- 9:08that her claims are untrue. For purposes of Rule eleven,
- 9:13would be laughable were it not so reprehensible, Christensen wrote,
- 9:17and I do agree with Christensen about the bullying. There's
- 9:21no doubt that Leon Black brought in the big guns
- 9:23for this purpose. He wants you to feel like you
- 9:26have nowhere to go, like the walls are closing in
- 9:29on you, your own family, they're turning on you, your friends,
- 9:33they're turning on you. And that's all part of the
- 9:36big intimidation campaign that people like Leon Black engage in
- 9:40whenever they're accused of something. Christensen then referred to an
- 9:44August twenty fifth letter from Mestrich, who wrote that references
- 9:47to certain individuals like Epstein's assistance, Leslie Groff, and Sarah
- 9:51Kellen were pure fiction. Estrich said that Groff and Kellen's
- 9:56representatives informed them that they had never heard of d Oh.
- 10:00So we're gonna believe Sarah Kellen Vickers, We're gonna believe
- 10:03Leslie Groff. Sure, the Core four not exactly what I
- 10:07would call or consider reliable narrators. It is confounding that
- 10:12you are suggesting someone such as Sarah Kellen would admit
- 10:15to doing the thing she has been accused of, Christensen wrote,
- 10:19especially since such acts may subject her to potential criminal charges.
- 10:25We are fully confident in our investigation and inquiry that
- 10:29was more than reasonable of our client's claims. Christensen continued,
- 10:34you repeated hyperbolic narrative about Whigdor filing the action recklessly
- 10:38or without any factual basis is utter nonsense. Still, Estrich
- 10:44told The Daily Beast that the cheerleading coach's declaration is
- 10:48just one that throws cold water on those accusations. We
- 10:52have said all along that Jane Doe's claims are false
- 10:56and made up, Estridge said in a statement. This declaration,
- 11:00like others, which include statements made by family members and friends,
- 11:04confirms that this has been made up and totally fabricated
- 11:08all along. Estrich said, Black is seeking Rule eleven sanctions
- 11:13penalties district courts can impose for the filing of frivolous
- 11:17lawsuits based on the knowing falsity of these claims. She added,
- 11:23this has been an abuse of the legal system and
- 11:25a miscarriage of justice from the get go. What you
- 11:29really mean is what all of the victims of Epstein
- 11:31went through. That's a miscarriage of justice. This is just
- 11:35a little bump in the road for your rich ass,
- 11:37punk ass client, Leon Black. Those lawsuit alleges that she
- 11:43is autistic and has a rare condition known as mosaic
- 11:46down syndrome, resulting in developmental disabilities and health issues. Although
- 11:52Miss Doe has an above average intelligence quotient, her developmental
- 11:57age is around twelve years old, the complaint says, adding
- 12:00that she was a perfect target for Jeffrey Epstein and
- 12:04his accomplished glene Maxwell Black's team has previously suggested that Doe,
- 12:09as an adult, has faked having these medical issues. In
- 12:13a separate declaration filed by Black, his eighty three year
- 12:16old private eye said he taped interviews with the cheerleading coach,
- 12:20Doe's parents, sister, and and cousin, as well as high
- 12:24school classmates and others who contradicted those claims in her lawsuit.
- 12:30Eighty three year old private investigator. Shouldn't that dude be
- 12:33sitting at his retirement home eating pudding? What do you mean?
- 12:37Eighty three year old private investigator. The investigator claims that
- 12:41some interviewees told him that Doe has a history of
- 12:44using different names and personas, never traveled to Florida, New York,
- 12:49or the usviwhall in high school and didn't miss school
- 12:52or fell a grade. Doe's lawsuit, however, says that Elizabeth
- 12:57farmed her out to Epstein and Maxwell so long, often
- 13:00sending her to the Palm Beach in US virgin Islands,
- 13:03that she failed her junior year of high school. According
- 13:07to the complaint, Doe first met Maxwell in the summer
- 13:10of two thousand and one, after Elizabeth and her male
- 13:13partner transported her to a party in Washington, d C. Suburbs.
- 13:18The following week, Dough claims Elizabeth put the teenager on
- 13:22a private plane from Virginia to Palm Beach, where Maxwell
- 13:26and Epstein would train her to sexually service the multi millionaire.
- 13:31In late spring or early summer of two thousand and two,
- 13:34the complaint states, Elizabeth informed Doe that she would be
- 13:37heading to New York City to meet Epstein's special friend,
- 13:40Leon Black. The lawsuit goes on to describe Black allegedly
- 13:45throwing the teen down on a massage table and violently
- 13:48attacking her to the point that she began bleeding. Although
- 13:52Epstein traffic plaintiff to other men both before and after Black,
- 13:56she was never again taken to NYC. The violent and
- 14:00sadistic nature of Black's rape left an indelible mark on
- 14:03her both physically and psychologically. The lawsuit says Doe isn't
- 14:09the only person to accuse Black of sexual assault in
- 14:12recent years. Sherry Pearson sued a multi billionaire last November,
- 14:16accusing him of raping her at Epstein's Manhattan mansion in
- 14:20two thousand and two, and former model Guzell Ganieva claimed
- 14:24in a twenty twenty one defamation lawsuit that he abused
- 14:27her for years and coerced her into signing an NDA.
- 14:32All three women were represented by Whigdor LLP, though Ganieva
- 14:37parted ways with the litigation firm before her suit was
- 14:40dismissed two months later. Black denies the women's accusations and
- 14:44claimed he was in a consensual relationship with Ganijeva before
- 14:48she allegedly extorted him for millions of dollars. He has
- 14:52two pending lawsuits, one alleging malicious prosecution against Ganieva and
- 14:57Whigdor LLP in New York State court. A third federal suit,
- 15:01accusing Kanieva of conspiring with a former business partner, Apollo
- 15:06Global Management co founder Josh Harris, to destroy his reputation,
- 15:11was dismissed by a judge who called it glaringly deficient,
- 15:15and the whole entire battle with Josh Harris had to
- 15:18do with the fact that, after Leon blackstepped down, that
- 15:21Josh Harris was passed over for that position. The litigation
- 15:26underscores how Black's friendship with Epstein continues to haunt him.
- 15:30In twenty twenty one, Black step down as chairman of
- 15:33the Museum of Modern Art and the CEO of Apollo
- 15:36after his firm's internal review of his ties to Epstein.
- 15:40Apollo's report revealed that Black paid Epstein one hundred and
- 15:44fifty eight million dollars from twenty twelve to twenty seventeen
- 15:49for financial advice. In January, Black paid the US Virgin
- 15:53Island sixty two and a half million to settle claims
- 15:56related to the government's probe into Epstein's trafficking scheme. The
- 16:01New York Times, which first reported on the payout, noted
- 16:04that Black agreed to pay in cash. Of course he did.
- 16:08Dude has more money than you could possibly imagine. And
- 16:11it's because he has all that money that he's never
- 16:14ever gonna really get into trouble. We all know that
- 16:17him and Epstein were in bed big time. And we
- 16:20all know that there was a ton of financial malfeasance.
- 16:23The problem is the DOJ refuses to go after these people.
- 16:28And you know why, right because when all is said
- 16:30and done, it's the financial sector that's really running this country, hell,
- 16:35that's really running the world. So all these little goofy
- 16:38politicians everybody's fighting over all the time. You're just spinning
- 16:42your wheels in neutral honestly, because they're not even making
- 16:45the decisions. Like everything else in life, he who pays
- 16:50the bills makes the decisions, all right, everybody that's gonna
- 16:54do it for this one. All of the information, including
