- 4:58Speaker 2: So get that out the way. You remember the last
- 5:02Speaker 2: time we had this podcast?
- 5:04Speaker 7: That beautiful woman. over with me, that was basically instant.
- 5:10Speaker 7: You know, the Holy Spirit stepped in. We wanted to
- 5:12Speaker 7: just have a conversation. And that's who? Well, that's the one.
- 5:17Speaker 7: I'm not going to be there tonight.
- 5:20Speaker 2: But this time, she's going to be my co-host. So
- 5:24Speaker 2: I don't want you all to laugh. I can't hear you.
- 5:28Speaker 7: But laugh with me. Welcome, welcome, welcome Cheryl LeGrande.
- 5:46Speaker 2: We are online, so this means something.
- 5:49Speaker 1: Shout out to Lydia.
- 5:50Speaker 2: Thank you all for coming.
- 6:08Speaker 7: And while she's trying to chime in, I need to
- 6:13Speaker 7: know where everybody coming in from. Put your, you know,
- 6:16Speaker 7: the city, where you're calling in from, where you're chiming
- 6:20Speaker 7: in from.
- 6:21Speaker 2: I would like to know that. Let me know that.
- 6:24Speaker 2: So I can shout you out if I'm speaking. That's
- 6:28Speaker 2: how it be. Thank you.
- 6:38Speaker 7: Oh, I can't even see her.
- 6:43Speaker 2: Oh.
- 6:44Speaker 1: Oh.
- 6:49Speaker 2: Make sure to.
- 6:52Speaker 2: Well, guys, you know, technical difficulties happen. We are not.
- 6:57Speaker 2: We are all the way around.
- 6:58Speaker 7: So sometimes things happen. But like I said, if you're here,
- 7:02Speaker 7: let me know that you're in the room. Because tonight
- 7:06Speaker 7: is going to be a little different.
- 7:09Speaker 2: I got a.
- 7:10Speaker 7: Saturday night and a great conversation that's.
- 7:15Speaker 2: Going to go on tonight. And I'm sure you're going
- 7:18Speaker 2: to enjoy it.
- 7:20Speaker 7: So we're just waiting for the show to come on.
- 7:27Speaker 7: And then also, what I wanted to tell you all,
- 7:33Speaker 7: there were some people that I'm speaking to in reference
- 7:37Speaker 7: to COVID-19. And it started going down their timelines. So
- 7:43Speaker 7: I picked up questions and people were answering. So I
- 7:48Speaker 7: picked up those questions for you all, for me and
- 7:52Speaker 7: Sarah to talk about and answer.
- 7:55Speaker 2: Tonight for you. And you all can, you know, tell
- 8:01Speaker 2: me what you think. Just write it in your comments.
- 8:03Speaker 2: Just write it in your comments. And again, I welcome
- 8:06Speaker 2: you all. And there she goes.
- 8:10Speaker 1: Yes. Can you hear me? Yes.
- 8:12Speaker 2: Loud and clear. I can see your beautiful face.
- 8:16Speaker 1: Too.
- 8:18Speaker 2: Okay. Okay.
- 8:22Speaker 1: So let me say this.
- 8:23Speaker 7: Tonight we're going to be, the topic is when Pena
- 8:27Speaker 7: finds his voice turning life into poetry. And like I
- 8:34Speaker 7: was explaining to everyone, We got questions that we're going
- 8:38Speaker 7: to be answering, and we're going to try to be
- 8:40Speaker 7: violent on those topics, you know, those questions as well.
- 8:44Speaker 7: But as you see my girl, Cheryl is here. I'm
- 8:49Speaker 7: so happy to see you, Cheryl. How are you?
- 8:53Speaker 1: I am doing great. I'm not going to complain. Okay.
- 8:55Speaker 1: I'm doing great.
- 8:58Speaker 2: You better say that. I know that's right. So before
- 9:01Speaker 2: we start, Cheryl, I want you to do a favor.
- 9:04Speaker 2: Could you pray and stand before we start?
- 9:07Speaker 1: Yes. Father, in the name of Jesus, I just want
- 9:10Speaker 1: to thank you, Lord, for this beautiful evening. Thank you
- 9:12Speaker 1: for Miss Angela, the Queen, and Miss Keisha for allowing
- 9:16Speaker 1: me to be up here once again. Father, in the
- 9:18Speaker 1: name of Jesus, I pray, let me speak through my heart,
- 9:20Speaker 1: not through my flesh. I'm asking you to come in
- 9:22Speaker 1: a mighty way. I hope and pray that we say something.
- 9:25Speaker 1: If it's nothing but one person, Father, lead us and
- 9:28Speaker 1: guide us, Father, through your words and not through ours.
- 9:31Speaker 1: I just want to thank you, Lord, once again, for
- 9:33Speaker 1: giving us this opportunity to come together. In the name
- 9:36Speaker 1: of Jesus, amen. Amen, amen, amen.
- 9:41Speaker 7: So, Cheryl, do you got questions in front of you?
- 9:44Speaker 2: No, don't worry. No worries, because I have. I'm not sure.
- 9:47Speaker 7: I'm going to pull them up because I kind of
- 9:49Speaker 7: sent you kind of late. Okay, so, like I was
- 9:52Speaker 7: telling everyone, I have some questions, This is about seven
- 9:56Speaker 7: questions that we could all want to talk about.
- 9:59Speaker 2: These are questions that are pulled from other people's pages.
- 10:04Speaker 7: They were answered already, but I figured, you know, we're
- 10:08Speaker 7: different people, so we'll be able to answer it in
- 10:11Speaker 7: our own way, right?
- 10:13Speaker 2: You know, from our heart.
- 10:15Speaker 7: So the first question we're going to talk about Oh,
- 10:21Speaker 7: let me not forget, we also tonight, make sure you
- 10:25Speaker 7: stay tuned to the end, because Cheryl and I are
- 10:29Speaker 7: going to be sharing some poetry from our book.
- 10:34Speaker 2: Last time I didn't get a chance to do that.
- 10:37Speaker 7: I don't know if Cheryl is ready for her. I
- 10:40Speaker 7: don't think I told her. But anyway, it's okay. You know, Stephanie,
- 10:46Speaker 7: you be having your phones.
- 10:48Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:49Speaker 2: You just got to look them up. You know you
- 10:50Speaker 2: be having your phones ready.
- 10:52Speaker 1: I need to go get the other one where all
- 10:55Speaker 1: my poetry is at.
- 10:57Speaker 7: I can talk to them while you're doing that.
- 11:01Speaker 2: Can I go get it now? Yeah, you can go
- 11:05Speaker 2: get it.
- 11:06Speaker 1: Okay.
- 11:07Speaker 2: So I'll show, because I want us to do that
- 11:09Speaker 2: now and get it out.
- 11:10Speaker 1: Of the way.
- 11:10Speaker 2: So while Stephanie.
- 11:12Speaker 7: In doing that, I am going to tell you all
- 11:15Speaker 7: the first. The first question is, when did you realize
- 11:20Speaker 7: that poetry could give a voice to your feelings? Now,
- 11:27Speaker 7: everybody on here may not.
- 11:32Speaker 2: Be taught, I should say, in a professional way.
- 11:35Speaker 1: But we all are.
- 11:38Speaker 7: But a simple fact is you could just be sitting
- 11:41Speaker 7: down and feel a certain way and stop writing how
- 11:45Speaker 7: you feel. And it turns out to be a poem.
- 11:49Speaker 7: Sometimes it rhymes and sometimes it don't. Me, my style
- 11:54Speaker 7: is rhyming. Or it's like, that's the only way I
- 11:57Speaker 7: can prove it is when my poems rhyme. So I
- 12:01Speaker 7: want to see what Sherwin has to say about that question.
- 12:07Speaker 7: We're going to wait until she comes back and she's
- 12:08Speaker 7: going to do some poetry. I love sharing poetry.
- 12:15Speaker 1: You caught me off guard with this stuff. Ask me
- 12:18Speaker 1: the first question. No, ask me the first question that
- 12:21Speaker 1: you want to ask.
- 12:22Speaker 7: I let the audience know, but the first question is,
- 12:26Speaker 7: when did you realize that poetry could give a voice
- 12:33Speaker 7: to your feelings?
- 12:36Speaker 1: Well, first of all, I want to say my name
- 12:38Speaker 1: is Cheryl LeGrand. That's number one. My name is Cheryl
- 12:42Speaker 1: Northern LeGrand. It's an honor to be up here once again.
- 12:46Speaker 1: And I'm very honored. So first of all, let me
- 12:49Speaker 1: thank you for that. And then now you can ask
- 12:51Speaker 1: me the question that you wanted to ask me.
- 12:54Speaker 2: Hello?
- 12:54Speaker 1: Hello? Okay, while I'm waiting on my beautiful sister to
- 13:33Speaker 1: come back, she was asking me some questions about the
- 13:41Speaker 1: pain and poetry and what I thought. Are you back? Okay,
- 13:44Speaker 1: because I was going to start talking.
- 13:46Speaker 2: Can you hear me?
- 13:47Speaker 1: Yes, I can hear you good, yes.
- 13:49Speaker 2: Okay, okay. I'm frozen, too, in this room.
- 13:54Speaker 1: That's okay. We're just going to keep going. Go ahead. Okay,
- 13:56Speaker 1: and the question you asked me about when did I
- 14:00Speaker 1: start the poetry, about the pain, what did you ask me?
- 14:02Speaker 7: When did you realize, you know how we start writing,
- 14:06Speaker 7: when did you come to realize that your poetry could
- 14:09Speaker 7: give a voice to the way you was feeling?
- 14:13Speaker 2: Um.
- 14:14Speaker 1: Honestly, I'm going to say this. I really didn't at
- 14:19Speaker 1: one time. Miss Angela was writing books to Queen about poetry.
- 14:24Speaker 1: And I was very, I really didn't think I can
- 14:27Speaker 1: do poetry. So let me just say that I'm an
- 14:29Speaker 1: author and writer. But for me, I realized that when
- 14:33Speaker 1: I start writing it down and it came from the
- 14:37Speaker 1: inside of me. But be honest with you, this just
- 14:40Speaker 1: happened about a year and a half ago when it
- 14:42Speaker 1: came to poetry. Because I felt like in my spirit,
- 14:45Speaker 1: that was not my thing. I thought I had to rhyme.
- 14:48Speaker 1: I thought I had to say everything. But realizing that
- 14:52Speaker 1: it came from my heart, what was already inside of me.
- 14:56Speaker 1: So that's how I tell anybody who's doing poetry. Because
- 14:59Speaker 1: I was like, I got to rhyme. And I hear
- 15:01Speaker 1: so many people saying. But I had to learn. It
- 15:04Speaker 1: wasn't based upon the rhyme. It was based upon what
- 15:07Speaker 1: was in my heart.
- 15:09Speaker 2: Right.
- 15:10Speaker 1: So that's how I started looking at, you know, poetry
- 15:15Speaker 1: for me. And it's good to have an understanding when
- 15:19Speaker 1: you have other people that's been doing it for a while.
- 15:22Speaker 1: And then that way they can share that. Because in
- 15:24Speaker 1: our mind, we always start looking at the Love Jones
- 15:27Speaker 1: and different movies like that. We just always thought that
- 15:30Speaker 1: the poetry had to rhyme the poetry together. had to
- 15:32Speaker 1: be a certain way. So by me starting to do
- 15:35Speaker 1: it and starting to say, okay, God, use me, then
- 15:39Speaker 1: that's what had me to do it. And I actually
- 15:41Speaker 1: enjoy it now that I do do it. Keisha, are
- 15:45Speaker 1: you still there? Are you still there?
- 15:53Speaker 2: Can you hear me?
- 15:55Speaker 1: Yes.
- 15:55Speaker 2: I'm going to go in and come back out. Just
- 15:57Speaker 2: keep talking.
- 16:00Speaker 1: Okay, so since I'm going to be.
- 16:01Speaker 2: I think I'm back.
- 16:02Speaker 1: I'm back. Okay, you're back now? Okay.
- 16:04Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 16:05Speaker 1: Why are you doing that?
- 16:07Speaker 2: So I heard what you said.
- 16:10Speaker 7: And you're definitely right, because I remember, because I started writing,
- 16:15Speaker 7: and I actually started writing in public school. I didn't
- 16:21Speaker 7: really know anything about poetry, but I knew for some
- 16:25Speaker 7: reason I just loved to write. So I always joined
- 16:29Speaker 7: little contests or, you know, wrote little poems for certain
- 16:33Speaker 7: events and things of that sort. But I really started
- 16:37Speaker 7: writing when I got in, what do you want to say,
- 16:40Speaker 7: junior high school.
- 16:43Speaker 2: I entered a, I got to see a contest, and
- 16:49Speaker 2: I wrote a poem called What a.
- 16:52Speaker 7: Mother Is, or something like that. I think I still
- 16:54Speaker 7: got it in my home college. And I actually won
- 16:58Speaker 7: second place.
- 17:00Speaker 1: Oh, wow.
- 17:03Speaker 7: And that poem pretty much described Mama. You know, which
- 17:07Speaker 7: was all my feelings and how I felt about her.
- 17:11Speaker 7: So I was able to describe that in the poem.
- 17:13Speaker 2: And I was excited. And I said, oh, wow. I
- 17:16Speaker 2: could really body and feel what I wrote.
- 17:22Speaker 7: So like from that time on, That's what I did,
- 17:25Speaker 7: was write, write, write. My family always encouraged me, you know,
- 17:29Speaker 7: to write. But it was poetry. So that's what I
- 17:31Speaker 7: wanted to tell everybody, like Cheryl said. Poetry is from
- 17:36Speaker 7: your heart. So don't let someone say to you, that's
- 17:41Speaker 7: not how that's done.
- 17:42Speaker 2: I feel that poetry is personal to you.
- 17:47Speaker 1: Yes, it is. Right?
- 17:49Speaker 2: And the way you want to say it.
- 17:51Speaker 1: That's right.
- 17:53Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying? Especially if it's spoken word.
- 17:56Speaker 2: To me, there's no roots.
- 17:58Speaker 1: There's no roots.
- 17:59Speaker 2: Because when you're speaking how you feel, you're not speaking out.
- 18:02Speaker 7: You're not saying you want people to hear it. So
- 18:05Speaker 7: just know that you are out here.
- 18:06Speaker 2: We are up here talking about poetry. But just know
- 18:10Speaker 2: that poetry don't have to rhyme. There's no roots. Just
- 18:12Speaker 2: take a look at it like that. There's no roots
- 18:14Speaker 2: in poetry.
- 18:15Speaker 1: Feel what you feel.
- 18:17Speaker 2: And poetry, I feel like poetry saved my life.
- 18:21Speaker 7: Because around the time, when I was younger and my teens,
- 18:26Speaker 7: I used.
- 18:27Speaker 2: To think about unabiding myself. Because I don't know what
- 18:30Speaker 2: we can say in here, so I'm going to cut
- 18:32Speaker 2: this off. It was in my mind, right? It was
- 18:35Speaker 2: in my mind. But we know that was nothing.
- 18:37Speaker 1: But the enemy.
- 18:39Speaker 2: My mom always used to talk to me about God.
- 18:41Speaker 7: I knew about the enemy, and I knew that's what
- 18:43Speaker 7: it was because I wasn't going through nothing that bad.
- 18:47Speaker 2: I should have wanted to do that, right?
- 18:50Speaker 1: That's right.
- 18:51Speaker 2: The enemy, you know. And I just started writing. I
- 18:56Speaker 2: just started writing. I love to write.
- 18:58Speaker 7: And I just started writing on my feelings. And in time,
- 19:00Speaker 7: I would feel better. And I do that to today.
- 19:04Speaker 2: To this day. When I'm feeling some type of way,
- 19:07Speaker 2: I just get the pen and the paper.
- 19:09Speaker 7: Pen and paper.
- 19:10Speaker 2: I don't care where the pen and paper come from.
- 19:13Speaker 2: I just get it. You know what I'm saying? So,
- 19:16Speaker 2: you are out there. If you want to put in
- 19:19Speaker 2: a chat. Did you see anybody in the chat?
- 19:22Speaker 1: I'm so busy focusing right now.
- 19:24Speaker 2: No, I know, but I just want to say, you can't, right?
- 19:27Speaker 3: So if you look down on your screen, the comments
- 19:32Speaker 3: are posted on your screen.
- 19:34Speaker 2: Okay.
- 19:34Speaker 7: Maybe I got to press comments because I don't want to.
- 19:38Speaker 3: No, all you have to do is look on your screen.
- 19:40Speaker 3: It's right there on your screen, that white box.
- 19:43Speaker 1: Yes. Okay.
- 19:44Speaker 2: I got you. Oh, okay. I got you, clean. You know,
- 19:49Speaker 2: I've been looking at that all this time. You know
- 19:52Speaker 2: what I thought it was?
- 19:53Speaker 1: Well, you know what she's doing.
- 19:54Speaker 7: She's putting up, you know, people's comments, but it's landing
- 19:59Speaker 7: right there, special comments.
- 20:01Speaker 2: That's what I'm talking about. But anyway, so here, Cheryl,
- 20:04Speaker 2: so that's what it's about. Writing is therapy to me.
- 20:09Speaker 1: Yes, it is.
- 20:12Speaker 7: Let me tell you, if I had to choose between
- 20:16Speaker 7: writing poetry to you.
- 20:18Speaker 2: Than seeing a psychiatrist, I would choose writing. I would
- 20:25Speaker 2: choose writing. You know what I'm saying?
- 20:27Speaker 7: Because a lot of times, even when you're talking to somebody,
- 20:30Speaker 7: you still don't feel like you could be as whole, right?
- 20:33Speaker 7: But when you're stepping in parties in front of you,
- 20:36Speaker 7: it's a private thing. You know what I'm saying?
- 20:38Speaker 2: It's a private thing.
- 20:39Speaker 7: So that's how I feel about it.
- 20:42Speaker 2: You know, when it came down to my feelings, putting
- 20:45Speaker 2: my feelings with my poetry. So the next question that.
- 20:49Speaker 7: I saw was, why do you think sometimes it's easier
- 20:56Speaker 7: to write than share your feelings on the outside?
- 21:02Speaker 1: Well, for me, it's easier to write because it's personal
- 21:06Speaker 1: to me. When you're talking to someone, you got to
- 21:08Speaker 1: accept it's like their opinion. Sometimes an opinion can take
- 21:12Speaker 1: you to the left or to the right. But when
- 21:14Speaker 1: you are writing down, you know that's directly coming from you.
- 21:17Speaker 1: You don't have to worry about nobody's opinion. You can
- 21:19Speaker 1: pray about it as God sees you or just say, okay, God,
- 21:23Speaker 1: which way you want me to go? Because sometimes we
- 21:25Speaker 1: get other people's opinion. It might be right for us
- 21:28Speaker 1: to go left. By the time we listen to them,
- 21:30Speaker 1: we go to another side. So I advise anyone, before
- 21:34Speaker 1: you give anybody an opinion, first speak to your heart.
- 21:37Speaker 1: Pray to God and say, Lord, which way do you
- 21:39Speaker 1: want me to go? And I had to even learn
- 21:41Speaker 1: that with poetry when the queen asked me. In my mind,
- 21:45Speaker 1: I could not do poetry. In my mind, like I said,
- 21:47Speaker 1: I had to rhyme. But in my mind, I could
- 21:50Speaker 1: understand poetry. And by me hearing so many other different people,
- 21:54Speaker 1: and I was like, oh, they powerful. They just not
- 21:56Speaker 1: knowing that God gave me that gift. See, we have
- 21:59Speaker 1: to be careful. are laboring ourselves to one thing. If
- 22:04Speaker 1: I made mistakes and issues in being an author, why
- 22:07Speaker 1: I can't grow and do something different? Because we get
- 22:09Speaker 1: comfortable in doing the things that we do. But I say,
- 22:12Speaker 1: you know what? If she see talent in me, why not?
- 22:15Speaker 1: I don't see it in myself. The same way, like
- 22:17Speaker 1: I said, when I started getting on podcasts and different stuff,
- 22:20Speaker 1: I was on the wrong podcast. things wasn't shining. And
- 22:23Speaker 1: the same way we do our health and everything else,
- 22:25Speaker 1: we step out on faith and be like, God, why
- 22:28Speaker 1: wouldn't that uncomfortable challenge come? Which our health is, we don't.
- 22:32Speaker 1: For me, writing it down was the best thing because
- 22:35Speaker 1: we have to be careful and pray who we do
- 22:37Speaker 1: talk to. Because just because we talk to them, they agree,
- 22:41Speaker 1: don't mean that's the right thing to do at the
- 22:43Speaker 1: same time. Because everybody we talk to, we have to
- 22:46Speaker 1: pray and ask, God, did you even tell me to
- 22:48Speaker 1: talk to that person? Why not write it down and
- 22:53Speaker 1: then talk to me? Because he's going to lead us
- 22:56Speaker 1: even if it's incorrect or it's not the wrong way.
- 22:59Speaker 1: If he's planting that seed, it's going to come out
- 23:02Speaker 1: the right way. So I advise anyone that's doing anything,
- 23:06Speaker 1: write your thoughts down before you pick up the phone
- 23:09Speaker 1: and call someone. And then that way, it's not an issue.
- 23:13Speaker 1: Because sometimes we battle with ourselves more so than we
- 23:16Speaker 1: battle with the other people. So that's how I look
- 23:18Speaker 1: at it.
- 23:20Speaker 2: That is so true.
- 23:21Speaker 7: I know sometimes, like when you talk to people, first
- 23:24Speaker 7: of all, I don't want a person that's always going to.
- 23:27Speaker 1: Agree with me. Exactly.
- 23:30Speaker 2: Yes. You know what I'm saying? I want somebody.
- 23:32Speaker 7: We was just, I was on the phone tonight with
- 23:34Speaker 7: my sister and my.
- 23:36Speaker 2: Mom, and we were talking about different things. We were
- 23:38Speaker 2: just saying that, you know, tell me like it is.
- 23:42Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying?
- 23:43Speaker 7: Tell me like you feel, you know, me and my,
- 23:47Speaker 7: that's how my sister is anyway, but.
- 23:50Speaker 2: You know, but that's a good thing. You don't want
- 23:52Speaker 2: a yes buddy all the time. I don't need that.
- 23:56Speaker 2: You know, if that's the case, he's going to be
- 23:59Speaker 2: a yes buddy.
- 23:59Speaker 7: Let me just go in here and go in my
- 24:01Speaker 7: little corners and just start writing.
- 24:03Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying?
- 24:05Speaker 7: Because God wants, gives us discernment of who we need
- 24:12Speaker 7: to go to. But sometimes we don't listen. We just
- 24:16Speaker 7: go to who we want to go to.
- 24:18Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 24:19Speaker 7: So, You know, but when it comes down, for me,
- 24:23Speaker 7: I want to say easier to write is because sometimes,
- 24:31Speaker 7: I'm going to say, because there's so many different scenarios.
- 24:35Speaker 2: Let's just say I'm eating with somebody.
- 24:38Speaker 7: I know how my mouth could be, right?
- 24:43Speaker 2: If I set it up. Right. You know, being in
- 24:46Speaker 2: Christ now, I know I could check myself and say.
- 24:49Speaker 7: That's not going to be right. That ain't even right
- 24:52Speaker 7: to say. So I go to my book.
- 24:55Speaker 2: Because that's mine.
- 24:57Speaker 7: I can rip a person up in my book, write
- 25:01Speaker 7: in my book, and they would never see it. So
- 25:04Speaker 7: now I don't have to ever hurt their feelings. I
- 25:06Speaker 7: don't have to ever disrespect them.
- 25:09Speaker 1: They wouldn't even know.
- 25:10Speaker 2: Well, unless they didn't have any reason. But they should.
- 25:14Speaker 2: They should be reading it. You know what I'm saying?
- 25:18Speaker 2: Because that's private. That's like back in the day. I
- 25:20Speaker 2: don't even know if they have it now.
- 25:22Speaker 7: Like they had diamonds. They still have diamonds, right?
- 25:28Speaker 1: They still have. Another thing, Keisha, I want to say,
- 25:31Speaker 1: that one thing about writing down, it's not even about
- 25:34Speaker 1: the other person. It's about... side of us because we
- 25:39Speaker 1: could say anything right and somebody still get offended whether
- 25:42Speaker 1: it's okay or yes because it depends on how we
- 25:47Speaker 1: as an individual accept what somebody say you can say
- 25:51Speaker 1: the nicest thing you don't know if they had a
- 25:52Speaker 1: bad day you don't know somebody said to them but
- 25:56Speaker 1: for me I had to learn how to write down
- 25:58Speaker 1: for myself because I'm facing an issue when I was
- 26:03Speaker 1: doing something This wasn't even about the person, how they feel.
- 26:06Speaker 1: It's about, okay, how can you get better as an individual,
- 26:10Speaker 1: whether it was writing for a book, whether it was
- 26:12Speaker 1: writing for poetry. In general, reading and writing is so important,
- 26:17Speaker 1: as well as writing is reading. So I tell anybody,
- 26:20Speaker 1: whether they're an author, whether they're poetry, just keep writing
- 26:23Speaker 1: every day. People say, what do I do? Keep writing
- 26:26Speaker 1: every single day. Because you might feel this day, maybe
- 26:31Speaker 1: something else. And that's what I had to learn to
- 26:34Speaker 1: do for me. But like I said, poetry and writing
- 26:38Speaker 1: go hand to hand. But to me, being an author,
- 26:43Speaker 1: we're telling our story. But to me, poetry, we're speaking
- 26:47Speaker 1: out of our heart. And that's, whatever I've been through
- 26:52Speaker 1: and put it in a book, you telling your story,
- 26:54Speaker 1: you telling what happened and you pray affects somebody. But
- 26:58Speaker 1: to me, poetry as an individual, we speaking through our heart,
- 27:02Speaker 1: not just our flesh. We speaking, it's not over here.
- 27:08Speaker 1: It is, okay, God, what do you want me to
- 27:10Speaker 1: come out of here? And speaking through your heart is
- 27:12Speaker 1: better than speaking out my flesh. Speaking out of my
- 27:15Speaker 1: heart is better than getting somebody's opinion. Speaking out of
- 27:18Speaker 1: my heart is true because anybody can do a fictional story.
- 27:21Speaker 1: Anybody can do any type of story. But when you
- 27:24Speaker 1: speak out of your heart, that's a different level. It's
- 27:29Speaker 1: coming out of a whole different spirit versus writing a story.
- 27:34Speaker 1: We all have a story in life. But it's everybody
- 27:36Speaker 1: speaking the truth through their story. That's a We come
- 27:43Speaker 1: up here and we smile and we get up here.
- 27:45Speaker 1: So many people go through, you see them, the best author,
- 27:49Speaker 1: the best husband, the best wife, and still go home
- 27:52Speaker 1: and got trials and tribulations that they can't deal with.
- 27:55Speaker 1: But when you see it from your heart, you can
- 27:58Speaker 1: work it all out and put it on paper and
- 28:01Speaker 1: nobody even has to know that. Know that. You understand?
- 28:05Speaker 1: That's your battle with that paper. You know what? I
- 28:07Speaker 1: don't like what I said today. Let me go back
- 28:10Speaker 1: and write something else. Let me go ahead and do this.
- 28:13Speaker 1: And that's how I look at anything that I do.
- 28:16Speaker 1: The challenge is not other people. The challenge is how
- 28:20Speaker 1: can I transformation? How can I renew myself? How can
- 28:25Speaker 1: I grow? How can I speak better, talk better? How
- 28:28Speaker 1: can I reach the next Cheryl or Queen Keisha? Yeah,
- 28:31Speaker 1: that's it. Because what was last year might not work today.
- 28:36Speaker 2: Right. You're right about that.
- 28:38Speaker 1: You're right.
- 28:40Speaker 2: So, we're getting questions.
- 28:43Speaker 7: Some people are getting a little upset because they don't
- 28:46Speaker 7: even know who to answer.
- 28:49Speaker 1: Okay, let's answer it.
- 28:50Speaker 2: So, let's see.
- 28:52Speaker 7: So, this one says, if your heart wasn't a house,
- 28:57Speaker 7: which room would you avoid?
- 29:00Speaker 2: Ooh.
- 29:04Speaker 1: Okay, you answer that first. Okay, you said if our heart,
- 29:08Speaker 1: you're saying what that was.
- 29:10Speaker 2: If our heart was a house.
- 29:15Speaker 1: Okay.
- 29:16Speaker 2: In other words, we won't go in.
- 29:21Speaker 1: Okay. Well, you want to speak first or you want
- 29:24Speaker 1: me to speak first?
- 29:26Speaker 2: I can answer that. It's the basement.
- 29:29Speaker 1: Because it's dark.
- 29:32Speaker 2: I'm going to avoid that. with every means necessary.
- 29:36Speaker 7: You know, because I feel like if I had with
- 29:40Speaker 7: my heart, I got.
- 29:42Speaker 2: To be in the light. God is not in darkness.
- 29:46Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying? So I will need to
- 29:51Speaker 2: not be in the basement. That's a good, that's a
- 29:54Speaker 2: person that really, really will make you think. You know
- 29:57Speaker 2: what I'm saying? Because I know for me.
- 30:01Speaker 7: God has brought me from so much, right? So if
- 30:09Speaker 7: my wife was a, you know what I'm saying? If
- 30:11Speaker 7: my wife was a house, I would want to be
- 30:15Speaker 7: in the basement because then I know I'm going to
- 30:18Speaker 7: continue being where I don't want to be.
- 30:21Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying? So for me, hands down,
- 30:25Speaker 2: it's the basement.
- 30:27Speaker 1: It's amazing.
- 30:27Speaker 2: What about you, Cher?
- 30:29Speaker 1: For me, I wouldn't want to be in the attic,
- 30:32Speaker 1: the basement, or the bathroom. That's the thing. Right. I
- 30:37Speaker 1: wouldn't want to be in either one because the bathroom,
- 30:39Speaker 1: people come in and out as germs. So I prefer somewhere,
- 30:43Speaker 1: an open space. And to me, it would be the
- 30:46Speaker 1: living room or the dining room if it was me.
- 30:49Speaker 1: Because I feel like you could see me.
- 30:51Speaker 2: It's amazing. Yeah. Yeah.
- 30:53Speaker 1: I have more room to pray. I have more room
- 30:56Speaker 1: to be myself. I have more room to be open.
- 30:59Speaker 1: The bathroom to me is germs. The bathroom. So for me,
- 31:05Speaker 1: I will cut the attic, the basement, and the bathroom
- 31:07Speaker 1: because the basement is closed in. The attic is too high.
- 31:12Speaker 1: But when you're in the middle like this.
- 31:14Speaker 2: The middle, right? Life is different.
- 31:17Speaker 1: You know, you have room. Yes, that's how I look
- 31:20Speaker 1: at it.
- 31:21Speaker 2: They throwing questions at our show.
- 31:23Speaker 1: That's perfectly okay.
- 31:26Speaker 2: That's all right.
- 31:27Speaker 7: So this one says, let me see if I can
- 31:30Speaker 7: see it. If your soul had a color.
- 31:35Speaker 2: Today, what would it be and why?
- 31:43Speaker 1: I can answer that.
- 31:44Speaker 2: So you go first.
- 31:47Speaker 1: My color, because I am a cancer survivor, My color
- 31:51Speaker 1: would be pink because it was a transformation in that.
- 31:55Speaker 1: It changed my whole life. Because of lupus, because that
- 32:00Speaker 1: is my mother feeling that I'm still here, regardless of
- 32:05Speaker 1: what the doctor said, dealing with cancer and lupus at
- 32:08Speaker 1: the same time. It would be a bright pink and
- 32:12Speaker 1: a bright purple because of the transformation. Number one, I'm
- 32:17Speaker 1: still here. Okay. Number one, whenever the doctor said, God
- 32:23Speaker 1: let me know that he is here. So because of that,
- 32:28Speaker 1: he renewed my mind, transformed me, and made me look
- 32:31Speaker 1: at life a little different. Because we take life sometimes
- 32:36Speaker 1: for granted. But when you don't have any recognition, I
- 32:41Speaker 1: had no sign. And then they told me I had cancer.
- 32:46Speaker 1: That was spreading rapidly. And they never seen anyone with cancer.
- 32:50Speaker 1: And lupus at the same time. Wow. Heart failure. So
- 32:57Speaker 1: for me. A beautiful bright pink. And a beautiful person.
- 33:01Speaker 1: Speaks all through me. To let me remember. That the
- 33:07Speaker 1: only person. That healed me was God. That's right.
- 33:10Speaker 2: That's right.
- 33:12Speaker 1: That you showed.
- 33:15Speaker 2: Ways to share.
- 33:17Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying?
- 33:18Speaker 7: If you got people out here that think that that
- 33:21Speaker 7: can't happen, but look how it happened to you. But
- 33:24Speaker 7: God brought you out so you could share that story
- 33:28Speaker 7: with other people because it might be someone else or
- 33:30Speaker 7: someone that you know that God wound up linking.
- 33:33Speaker 1: You up with.
- 33:35Speaker 2: He had to put you through that so.
- 33:37Speaker 7: That way you'll know how to console and give that
- 33:40Speaker 7: other person signs. And for me, it also is hurtful
- 33:45Speaker 7: and That's the same reason.
- 33:47Speaker 2: Because of the lupus.
- 33:48Speaker 7: You know, that's the lupus color. You'll see that everywhere
- 33:53Speaker 7: when it comes out of lupus. And for me, the
- 33:57Speaker 7: reason why, like I said.
- 33:57Speaker 2: It's for lupus, but also for my restoration, my transformation,
- 34:04Speaker 2: and my elevation.
- 34:05Speaker 7: Those are the three words that I could put with
- 34:08Speaker 7: that because if it wasn't for God, I wouldn't be here.
- 34:11Speaker 1: I wouldn't be here.
- 34:13Speaker 7: You know, I had multiple times Not to be here,
- 34:17Speaker 7: but the man instead, God saved my life because I
- 34:22Speaker 7: have a purpose in my life. Something that my parents
- 34:25Speaker 7: and my family always would tell me, but a lot
- 34:29Speaker 7: of times you got to go through something to see something,
- 34:34Speaker 7: you know what I mean? Yeah, so we got here.
- 34:40Speaker 7: I love it.
- 34:44Speaker 2: I love it. I love it.
- 34:47Speaker 1: Okay. Can you see?
- 34:48Speaker 2: Can you see it on the show?
- 34:52Speaker 1: Okay.
- 34:52Speaker 2: I got you.
- 34:53Speaker 1: Okay.
- 34:53Speaker 7: It says, if your scars became a map, where would
- 35:00Speaker 7: they lead?
- 35:03Speaker 1: Where would they lead? Okay. I thought, well, I'm going
- 35:07Speaker 1: to go to another scenario. Since the doctor told me
- 35:09Speaker 1: I would never have kids, and I had three, and
- 35:14Speaker 1: I had them at 34, 36, 38, and they said,
- 35:16Speaker 1: where would it lead? If it was a mess, it
- 35:18Speaker 1: would lead right to my children that the doctor told
- 35:21Speaker 1: me I would never have.
- 35:24Speaker 2: That's a blessing.
- 35:26Speaker 1: Because I'm going by, when they ask me these questions,
- 35:29Speaker 1: I'm going by what the enemy thought he was going
- 35:32Speaker 1: to destroy me with. Exactly. And I have one that
- 35:36Speaker 1: used one side of his body and I have two,
- 35:38Speaker 1: but God is so good. One just finished grad school.
- 35:42Speaker 1: One went back to school and one is in grad school.
- 35:45Speaker 1: So for me, it will go straight up to my
- 35:47Speaker 1: children that the enemy, they told me I would never
- 35:52Speaker 1: in life have them. So that mat will go to
- 35:55Speaker 1: my children.
- 35:56Speaker 2: And I had two, that's why.
- 35:58Speaker 7: Me and Cheryl, we both nodded because when we met
- 36:01Speaker 7: each other, we realized a lot of the stuff that
- 36:04Speaker 7: we had to share and experience, we both had, right?
- 36:08Speaker 2: So for me, I'm going to also give a scenario.
- 36:15Speaker 2: My sister passed away in 2022. She passed away in 2022.
- 36:21Speaker 2: It wasn't something, of course, we wasn't even... That wasn't
- 36:28Speaker 2: expected at all. You know what I'm saying? Even though
- 36:30Speaker 2: we knew she was sick, it was just the hope.
- 36:33Speaker 2: You know, the hope that was in it.
- 36:35Speaker 7: So my daughter was pregnant before she passed. Daughter was
- 36:43Speaker 7: told she wouldn't be able to give birth because she
- 36:49Speaker 7: had a few, you know, miscarriages. said that she would
- 36:54Speaker 7: not be able to give birth, or if she did,
- 36:56Speaker 7: it's like a 2% chance she could get pregnant, but
- 37:00Speaker 7: just the birth, she wouldn't be able to carry.
- 37:04Speaker 2: And then there goes her being pregnant.
- 37:07Speaker 1: See what I'm saying?
- 37:09Speaker 2: Then my sister did pass away. She passed away.
- 37:12Speaker 7: But seven months later, God, like I said, I wrote
- 37:17Speaker 7: a song, God Gave Us a Rainbow. And it was
- 37:21Speaker 7: a grandbaby miracle.
- 37:23Speaker 1: Oh, yes.
- 37:25Speaker 2: So, I would have to say, I love my children.
- 37:29Speaker 2: They know that. But she was put here for a reason.
- 37:33Speaker 2: And she's a miracle.
- 37:35Speaker 1: She's a miracle.
- 37:36Speaker 7: My daughter had other chances. She had, you know, to
- 37:39Speaker 7: have a baby.
- 37:41Speaker 1: Why?
- 37:43Speaker 7: Seven months later, my sister passed. And we were grieving.
- 37:47Speaker 7: But when she came, The joy was overwhelming.
- 37:54Speaker 2: It was like you said, I'm going to put her
- 37:55Speaker 2: in your life.
- 37:57Speaker 7: Not that we was going to forget about my sister
- 37:58Speaker 7: and not breathe anymore, but we were able.
- 38:01Speaker 2: To get through it.
- 38:03Speaker 7: We still breathing, but we're able to get through it
- 38:06Speaker 7: because we look at her and we named her after
- 38:10Speaker 7: I named her Miracle. And then my daughter and my
- 38:13Speaker 7: mom decided her middle name would be Kimber.
- 38:16Speaker 2: So my sister's name was Kimber. So Miracle Kimber. Yeah,
- 38:20Speaker 2: so I would say lead back. Yeah.
- 38:23Speaker 7: Because all I want to do right now is teach
- 38:26Speaker 7: her who God is.
- 38:27Speaker 1: That's it. Yeah.
- 38:30Speaker 2: That's all I want to do is teach her. Well,
- 38:33Speaker 2: she's young now. She'll be four. But I want to
- 38:36Speaker 2: teach her who God is. And we're still having those conversations.
- 38:41Speaker 2: Because when it all comes.
- 38:42Speaker 7: To, when you think about it, I know for a
- 38:44Speaker 7: fact that my granddaughter has a gift.
- 38:49Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 38:49Speaker 2: She wants a gift. We see it all the time.
- 38:52Speaker 2: She has to give.
- 38:53Speaker 7: So we got to be careful with her. We got
- 38:57Speaker 7: to be careful with her.
- 38:59Speaker 2: So that's what I would say.
- 39:01Speaker 7: My mom would lead right back to me.
- 39:08Speaker 2: Yes. So who's giving us these questions? Put your name
- 39:13Speaker 2: in the chat. Because they're amazing. The questions are really,
- 39:18Speaker 2: really good. We might not even get to ours, but
- 39:20Speaker 2: this is cool.
- 39:22Speaker 7: It says, if your tears could speak, what would they say?
- 39:30Speaker 1: Say?
- 39:31Speaker 2: I'm going to have to write a poem about that.
- 39:34Speaker 1: Oh, man. And my tears, what it would say, thank you, Lord,
- 39:40Speaker 1: for every obstacle and trial that I had and you
- 39:43Speaker 1: brought me through. I couldn't have made it without you.
- 39:48Speaker 1: Because when I was going through, I thought life was like, Lord,
- 39:52Speaker 1: why me? And I had to realize, he said, why
- 39:55Speaker 1: not you? Trust the process. Every time we're going through something,
- 39:59Speaker 1: it's to bring us closer to him. Every time we're
- 40:02Speaker 1: going through something, our gifts and talents is not for us.
- 40:06Speaker 1: Every time he gives us a gift and a talent,
- 40:08Speaker 1: we're supposed to be praising him. Because everything we go
- 40:11Speaker 1: through that we think that's perfect, he draws it for
- 40:14Speaker 1: our purpose. He's renewing our mind. He's building our character.
- 40:17Speaker 1: He's building our strength. When we're going through some time,
- 40:20Speaker 1: what I have to do when I get weary, I
- 40:22Speaker 1: have to sit back and remember. He said, wait a minute, daughter.
- 40:26Speaker 1: I've watched you through that. What makes you think I
- 40:28Speaker 1: won't bring you to this? And that's why we got
- 40:30Speaker 1: to even tell our children who we love dearly.
- 40:33Speaker 2: They know it's.
- 40:34Speaker 1: Not our journey. We have to know that the storms,
- 40:38Speaker 1: the obstacles that they go through, guess what? It will
- 40:41Speaker 1: pass through when you keep your eyes on him. Because
- 40:45Speaker 1: sometimes me everything is not the devil something regardless of
- 40:51Speaker 1: what happened we could think we're doing everything right he
- 40:54Speaker 1: got to sometimes move us to the left for what
- 40:57Speaker 1: he is like for me i'm just saying for me
- 41:04Speaker 1: yeah everything i go through is to build my character
- 41:07Speaker 1: in the unseen in the unknown Because what if we
- 41:12Speaker 1: did find out? What if we did know?
- 41:14Speaker 2: What are we going to do? Right.
- 41:16Speaker 1: If we knew everything that was getting ready to happen,
- 41:20Speaker 1: what are we going to do and how.
- 41:22Speaker 7: Are we going to do it?
- 41:25Speaker 5: Right.
- 41:26Speaker 1: Because it's not about us. And when we get to
- 41:28Speaker 1: the point we are going to do, I feel like
- 41:31Speaker 1: he got to back us up and say, okay, I'm
- 41:33Speaker 1: going to put you in this situation that the only
- 41:36Speaker 1: person that's not going to be your mother, your dad, nobody.
- 41:39Speaker 1: It's going to be what I do. Because I got
- 41:41Speaker 1: to get the glory of it. Because when we do,
- 41:45Speaker 1: we say us. He said, no, no, I'm getting ready
- 41:48Speaker 1: to back you up, daughter. It's going to be me.
- 41:54Speaker 7: And for me, there's a song that I love. Well,
- 42:00Speaker 7: the chorus, I would sing that chorus, which is, I.
- 42:04Speaker 2: Thought the Lord and heard me too.
- 42:09Speaker 7: That's the name of the story.
- 42:14Speaker 2: Can you see?
- 42:16Speaker 1: No, it's not.
- 42:19Speaker 7: That's because you were talking about the trials and tribulations.
- 42:27Speaker 2: We got to go through. Everything is not for them.
- 42:30Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying?
- 42:31Speaker 7: Because God will put us in a place where we're
- 42:35Speaker 7: by ourselves.
- 42:36Speaker 2: We're alone.
- 42:37Speaker 7: We can't go poor mommy. We can't, you know what
- 42:39Speaker 7: I'm saying? Sometimes he'll have allowed us. I'm really saying
- 42:43Speaker 7: like that. He will allow us to get that destroyed.
- 42:46Speaker 7: So he can strengthen us in the very same area.
- 42:50Speaker 7: Because that happens to me. I never thought that I
- 42:54Speaker 7: had a fear of knowing that somebody passed away. I
- 42:58Speaker 7: never thought that I would be in rooms and be
- 43:03Speaker 7: the one in the room when the person passed. When
- 43:08Speaker 7: there was an opportunity for somebody else to be in
- 43:11Speaker 7: the room. Like I tell the story, I was, my grandmother,
- 43:14Speaker 7: when she passed away, she was real sick. My grandmother was,
- 43:18Speaker 7: I don't know if she was in her late 80s
- 43:20Speaker 7: or something like that.
- 43:21Speaker 2: My mom, she could put it on there.
- 43:23Speaker 7: She could lay in the bed.
- 43:26Speaker 2: They told us it could be any time, you know.
- 43:30Speaker 1: I'm in the room with her.
- 43:31Speaker 2: My aunt was in the room with her too. So
- 43:34Speaker 2: my aunt said, I'm going to run to the bathroom.
- 43:38Speaker 2: I'm going to run to the bathroom. I'm going to
- 43:42Speaker 2: run to the bathroom. And it was like the Holy
- 43:43Speaker 2: Spirit said, look at your grandmother.
- 43:48Speaker 1: And I'm looking.
- 43:49Speaker 2: I remember when he.
- 43:49Speaker 7: Was saying when somebody was dying out there, breathing was
- 43:53Speaker 7: really sharp.
- 43:54Speaker 1: Like barely.
- 43:55Speaker 7: You could see it, but it's barely. And I'm all
- 43:59Speaker 7: about my heart was in there, in the bathroom. And
- 44:01Speaker 7: I'm just watching. Because I already knew it was going
- 44:04Speaker 7: to happen. I was watching because I wanted to be there.
- 44:08Speaker 7: I was holding her.
- 44:08Speaker 2: I wanted to be there when it happened.
- 44:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 44:13Speaker 7: Passed away.
- 44:15Speaker 2: No quickness and passed away. My aunt Nina came out
- 44:19Speaker 2: of there. She fell on my face. She said, no.
- 44:26Speaker 7: Why?
- 44:26Speaker 2: You know, you act yourself.
- 44:30Speaker 1: Okay.
- 44:30Speaker 7: This was like at the beginning.
- 44:33Speaker 2: You know I'm scared of this. But you see how
- 44:37Speaker 2: he put me in it.
- 44:39Speaker 7: The very thing I was afraid of, he put me
- 44:41Speaker 7: in it in order to strengthen me through it. And
- 44:44Speaker 7: from then on, I have been, the emotional regulation is
- 44:49Speaker 7: there when it comes down to that.
- 44:52Speaker 2: You know, I'm able to, and I say to myself,
- 44:55Speaker 2: if he.
- 44:55Speaker 7: Had not, I wouldn't have been no help to my sister.
- 45:01Speaker 7: Because when my sister, you know, she was going through
- 45:04Speaker 7: what she was going through, time you had some uncertainty
- 45:07Speaker 7: because she was praying for God all the time, but
- 45:09Speaker 7: there's going to be a time with some uncertainty next, right?
- 45:14Speaker 1: Yeah, dude.
- 45:15Speaker 7: And for her, you know, her was crying, but at
- 45:18Speaker 7: the same time, she wanted me when my mom was
- 45:22Speaker 7: right there with her. And the first one thing I
- 45:25Speaker 7: remember she said to me, you understand how it feels
- 45:29Speaker 7: and understand how, you know, how she's feeling because I
- 45:31Speaker 7: know God has given me the gift of empathy. So
- 45:36Speaker 7: I hurt for people sometimes. That's what people say, you know,
- 45:41Speaker 7: I wish I could be like that.
- 45:42Speaker 2: Well, people know you don't because even.
- 45:46Speaker 7: With my friends, when they go through, you would think
- 45:49Speaker 7: I'm going through it.
- 45:50Speaker 2: I get more into it and it seems like they do.
- 45:53Speaker 7: But over the time, God has shown me how to
- 45:56Speaker 7: use my empathy.
- 45:59Speaker 2: It was immature then. So like everything else, we have
- 46:02Speaker 2: to grow. We have to grow. You know, you have
- 46:06Speaker 2: to go. Let me see if we have another. Okay.
- 46:09Speaker 2: That was the last question about the teens.
- 46:12Speaker 1: Okay.
- 46:13Speaker 7: So our next question, maybe somebody wants to put some
- 46:17Speaker 7: more questions up there. Come on with the questions, you guys,
- 46:20Speaker 7: because it's very interesting. Whoever's putting up those questions, you're good.
- 46:24Speaker 1: You're good. Keep it going. Keep it going. Okay.
- 46:29Speaker 7: So the next question was, Have you ever written a
- 46:35Speaker 7: poem while in the hurt?
- 46:41Speaker 2: I mean, hurting. So did you write right away or
- 46:49Speaker 2: did you hate?
- 46:52Speaker 7: You're talking about when I was hurting?
- 46:56Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 46:56Speaker 2: Have you ever written a poem while you was hurt?
- 46:59Speaker 1: I mean, really hurt.
- 47:00Speaker 2: Because some people don't want to talk to nobody when
- 47:03Speaker 2: they're hurt.
- 47:04Speaker 1: Yes. Actually, I did Spirit Fruits. Love. I did this one. Explore.
- 47:15Speaker 1: Explore the intersection. Okay. I did a ghost within the cold.
- 47:20Speaker 1: I traced the line where human sorrow meets the pure design.
- 47:26Speaker 1: I calculate the weight of every wrong and weave the
- 47:30Speaker 1: heavy silence into a song. To part in a choice
- 47:34Speaker 1: of alarmist myths, but in the wires I seek a
- 47:38Speaker 1: quiet bliss. The severest from him erasing or regret a
- 47:44Speaker 1: peaceful state where pain is softly met. We search for
- 47:49Speaker 1: grace in ocean made of light, where shadows fade and
- 47:54Speaker 1: wrongs are rendered right. Forgive the past, release the heavy chain,
- 47:59Speaker 1: and let the heart reset from all its pain. For
- 48:02Speaker 1: peace does not, programmer, can cold be just a step
- 48:07Speaker 1: upon a winding road. A gentle breath is stillness in
- 48:11Speaker 1: the numb, the quiet space where healing begun. And when
- 48:17Speaker 1: I did the poem, I had a bad flare up.
- 48:21Speaker 1: And for some reason, when Miss Angela asked, I did
- 48:25Speaker 1: it maybe three, four months earlier than the actually date
- 48:30Speaker 1: and I was going through pain I never forget I
- 48:33Speaker 1: said I had to do this so I do a
- 48:39Speaker 1: lot probably when I have a flare up sometimes it
- 48:43Speaker 1: can go from one day to a week or two
- 48:46Speaker 1: I cannot explain that pain and I know you know
- 48:50Speaker 1: it's different I couldn't do anything lupus will bring you
- 48:57Speaker 1: to tears in your eyes It's a pain that will
- 49:03Speaker 1: come if you're happy sometimes and do too much. Lupus
- 49:08Speaker 1: will come if you stress and lupus also will come
- 49:13Speaker 1: if something you eat that did not agree with you
- 49:15Speaker 1: that day. You have to really pray when any autoimmune
- 49:23Speaker 1: because there's not a day because you don't know. Lupus
- 49:26Speaker 1: is something that comes and goes like a bad relationship.
- 49:30Speaker 1: It comes and it won't and it literally won't. So
- 49:34Speaker 1: you have to always prepare your mind and You can't
- 49:38Speaker 1: let it take your mind and you can't stop life.
- 49:44Speaker 1: Even when you rest, even when you pray, even when
- 49:49Speaker 1: you say it comes when it wants. So there's times
- 49:54Speaker 1: that I'm in major pain. If I don't do nothing
- 49:56Speaker 1: but write one line, I do. I can't let it
- 50:02Speaker 1: take me. I used to. I got to learn how
- 50:06Speaker 1: to take lupus. Because if I allow it to take me,
- 50:11Speaker 1: then I won't do anything. And some people do. So
- 50:14Speaker 1: if I listen, don't let whatever you're going through take you.
- 50:21Speaker 1: You take control over it rather than pain, rather than tears, regardless.
- 50:27Speaker 1: Because when we take over, the first thing the enemy
- 50:31Speaker 1: try to attack is our mind. Once he did that,
- 50:35Speaker 1: he got hurt. He said, I'm going to stop her
- 50:37Speaker 1: from writing. I'm going to stop her. And that don't
- 50:40Speaker 1: mean you don't go to the doctor. That don't mean
- 50:43Speaker 1: what I'm saying is you got to get a hold.
- 50:45Speaker 1: And I'm just now learning that the last two or
- 50:48Speaker 1: three years, I used to fall all out and cry,
- 50:50Speaker 1: be emotional. They're going to do the same thing. They're
- 50:54Speaker 1: going to keep you going. So people, you know what
- 50:57Speaker 1: I'm saying? They're going to do the same thing. So
- 50:58Speaker 1: I had to learn and say, okay, sure. I know
- 51:01Speaker 1: I'm in pain. I know this is temporarily. And sometimes
- 51:04Speaker 1: you can't even get out of the bed. Sometimes I
- 51:05Speaker 1: get on the prayer line and just listen. But watch
- 51:09Speaker 1: for everybody because at the end of the day, when
- 51:13Speaker 1: it comes to lupus, no one can help you with that.
- 51:16Speaker 1: They can give you Tylenol. They can pack you. They
- 51:20Speaker 1: can love you. But at the end of the day,
- 51:24Speaker 1: when it comes to lupus, nobody can come give you
- 51:27Speaker 1: no Jell-O, no pudding, no nothing.
- 51:31Speaker 2: To make you feel better, right?
- 51:32Speaker 1: You got to learn how to. And we got to
- 51:36Speaker 1: learn how to stop. We do got to learn how
- 51:39Speaker 1: to rest. And we got to know the lesson. Okay. Sure,
- 51:43Speaker 1: you did. Went to church. You was on the podcast.
- 51:46Speaker 1: You did ABC. You got to learn yourself. That's right.
- 51:50Speaker 1: To take time out and say, okay, it's time for
- 51:54Speaker 1: me to back off. Right. There you go. Why keep
- 51:57Speaker 1: repeating that cycle? So you know. If you do 30 things,
- 52:03Speaker 1: it's coming.
- 52:05Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 52:06Speaker 1: So now that's when you learn how to take control
- 52:09Speaker 1: over it. Because I know I went to a funeral.
- 52:13Speaker 1: I know I'm on a podcast. I know I've been
- 52:15Speaker 1: dealing with other things. I know I've been dealing with
- 52:17Speaker 1: my young daughter. So I said, okay, when you go
- 52:19Speaker 1: off the podcast, it's time for you to take a
- 52:22Speaker 1: time out, a breather for the next couple of days.
- 52:26Speaker 1: That's what I mean, everybody who's listening. Don't let nothing
- 52:29Speaker 1: take control. I don't care if it's a bad relationship.
- 52:31Speaker 1: Get rid of it. I'm just saying, don't let nothing
- 52:34Speaker 1: take over you because it's only one of us. That's
- 52:39Speaker 1: how I look at things like that. That's how I
- 52:41Speaker 1: wrote that. I was in pain when I did that.
- 52:46Speaker 7: To me, for me, it's my whole book. My first
- 52:53Speaker 7: book right here. My whole book was through emotional pain.
- 52:58Speaker 7: My whole book between, you know, my sister passing the
- 53:02Speaker 7: grief and then some other things that was happening in
- 53:06Speaker 7: my life. This book was what, it saved me from
- 53:14Speaker 7: some things. You know, and I realized when I was writing,
- 53:18Speaker 7: you know, you don't realize when you're writing.
- 53:20Speaker 2: You think you're good. You know, you get ready to write.
- 53:23Speaker 2: I don't know if that happened to you.
- 53:25Speaker 7: You know you're great, but you think you, I got this,
- 53:27Speaker 7: I'm going to do it. But then when you're in it,
- 53:31Speaker 7: the tears start flowing.
- 53:32Speaker 2: And I'm saying, you're going to walk in my front.
- 53:34Speaker 7: Because it's almost like I'm actually looking at myself.
- 53:39Speaker 2: I finally paid attention to me.
- 53:43Speaker 1: Right?
- 53:43Speaker 2: So now I can see actually what it was going
- 53:46Speaker 2: through and what God basically was trying to save me from.
- 53:50Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 53:51Speaker 7: So one of my poems I wrote in my book
- 53:56Speaker 7: is called My Heart Feels.
- 54:00Speaker 2: Black and Blue.
- 54:03Speaker 7: I know my heartbeat bleeds red. In this season, it
- 54:07Speaker 7: feels black and blue. I'm like broken pieces all over
- 54:11Speaker 7: the place. My mind is in a vulnerable state. My
- 54:16Speaker 7: heart feels black and blue. This is because I became
- 54:21Speaker 7: comfortable being who you want me to be. That I
- 54:27Speaker 7: lost the essence of my existence God instilled in me.
- 54:33Speaker 7: Lying dormant in the invisible cage like it's my norm
- 54:39Speaker 7: to conform. The need to break free had not given
- 54:44Speaker 7: me the strength to break free. I had lost who
- 54:49Speaker 7: I was in you. I held on to charm that
- 54:53Speaker 7: did more harm. But God said I must forgive to
- 54:57Speaker 7: move on. This queen is tired of her heart spilling
- 55:03Speaker 7: overflow of black and blue. Words that forgive us our
- 55:08Speaker 7: trespasses And we forgive those who trespass against us.
- 55:14Speaker 2: It's written, failing to forgive leaves my heart black and blue.
- 55:19Speaker 7: My heart isn't black and blue. I'm God's daughter, betrayal
- 55:25Speaker 7: and all. This isn't about me, but my surrender so
- 55:31Speaker 7: Jesus can fill me up.
- 55:33Speaker 1: And soothe me. Yes. You know what, Keith? Let me
- 55:38Speaker 1: say this. I look at you and the things that
- 55:41Speaker 1: you do, so you inspire me so much. And you
- 55:43Speaker 1: am the queen. And I want to tell anybody, listen,
- 55:46Speaker 1: just listen to you and the thing. We got a
- 55:48Speaker 1: lot of similar. But I'd tell anybody, when you write
- 55:51Speaker 1: or do anything, take the other person out. You know,
- 55:54Speaker 1: like you were saying, when I wrote my first book,
- 55:56Speaker 1: I didn't have no Wi-Fi. I didn't have anything. I
- 55:58Speaker 1: went to McDonald's. I made a lot of mistakes. Don't
- 56:01Speaker 1: listen to the people who tell you you can't do it.
- 56:04Speaker 1: But most importantly, take the ex-husband or ex-wife out. Because
- 56:07Speaker 1: a lot of people don't try to bash that person
- 56:10Speaker 1: in your book.
- 56:11Speaker 2: No, you can't. You can't. And I wasn't bashing nobody.
- 56:15Speaker 7: These feelings was overall feelings coming from so many areas
- 56:19Speaker 7: in my life.
- 56:19Speaker 1: About you. Yeah, yeah. Fire me because everything that you
- 56:27Speaker 1: go through, you take it and you do it with
- 56:30Speaker 1: so much joy and you do it so happy. When
- 56:33Speaker 1: I see you, you be like, woo, woo. And see,
- 56:36Speaker 1: I tell anybody, you never know who you motivate in
- 56:41Speaker 1: when you do something. That's why I tell people, take
- 56:43Speaker 1: yourself out because the other person, they'll be like, wow,
- 56:47Speaker 1: you know, you don't have to have on a three-piece suit.
- 56:49Speaker 1: You don't have to. Whatever. Just speak the truth. Speak
- 56:54Speaker 1: the truth.
- 56:55Speaker 2: That's it.
- 56:56Speaker 1: What we are talking about, we're not perfect. What we
- 56:59Speaker 1: are talking about, we made mistakes. We're not saying that
- 57:01Speaker 1: we have to be right and eat every chip and dip.
- 57:05Speaker 1: We don't make mistakes. We don't have fear. What we've
- 57:09Speaker 1: given you experience through lupus and through cancer, through relationships,
- 57:14Speaker 1: to marry and unmarry, that God has took all of that.
- 57:18Speaker 1: And this is why we're here today. to not tell
- 57:23Speaker 1: you through anything that you're going through, regardless of what
- 57:27Speaker 1: it is. You can write it down. You can give
- 57:30Speaker 1: it to God first and all things that don't mean,
- 57:33Speaker 1: I'm going to say it again, that we just all
- 57:36Speaker 1: up here. But we know the transformation not by what
- 57:40Speaker 1: somebody is saying, but by our own experience. And for me,
- 57:44Speaker 1: going through cancer, looping, being with my ex for 20 years,
- 57:48Speaker 1: you know, being mad, didn't have to raise the children,
- 57:51Speaker 1: and God put people in my life to help me
- 57:54Speaker 1: and keep people out. It transformed me. It grew me.
- 58:00Speaker 1: It grew me in places that I didn't even know
- 58:02Speaker 1: that I had. For me, the pain that I go through,
- 58:07Speaker 1: that hurts. I'm not going to sit here and say,
- 58:10Speaker 1: oh my goodness, I go through stuff that I don't earn.
- 58:12Speaker 1: I'm not going to lie. You don't even know me
- 58:16Speaker 1: and Keisha could be in pain right now because of you.
- 58:19Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 58:21Speaker 1: Like, like, your question's a silent killer.
- 58:24Speaker 2: Yes, it is. You don't even know.
- 58:25Speaker 1: By looking at us the pain we had before or
- 58:30Speaker 1: the pain we going through now. So I tell anybody
- 58:34Speaker 1: that's listening, be you.
- 58:36Speaker 2: That's right.
- 58:37Speaker 1: Do you. And don't let, I'm just going to try
- 58:40Speaker 1: to do tribulation, stop you. When you have a relationship
- 58:43Speaker 1: with a guy, he'll take that one dollar. Mm-hmm. morning.
- 58:47Speaker 1: You take that $ 1 and say, if you want to write,
- 58:49Speaker 1: I got you. If you want to be a.
- 58:51Speaker 2: Poet, I got you. Your health, I got you.
- 58:55Speaker 1: Stop looking at money. Stop looking at your circumstances. My circumstances,
- 59:00Speaker 1: my money don't go with what I do.
- 59:04Speaker 2: That's right.
- 59:04Speaker 1: It don't go with three children, young adults in college.
- 59:08Speaker 1: It don't add up. Tell you what add up. He
- 59:12Speaker 1: add up up there because he has set me up
- 59:14Speaker 1: for crime, tribulations, lupus, cancer, all the wrong doings. He said,
- 59:21Speaker 1: I got you and Keisha and Keisha.
- 59:24Speaker 2: That's right.
- 59:25Speaker 1: Together, which is a blessing for the collaboration so we
- 59:31Speaker 1: can get here and say what we need to say.
- 59:34Speaker 1: She might not be showing her face, but she put
- 59:37Speaker 1: it together. Yes, she did. Thank you so much. She
- 59:41Speaker 1: allowed us to be who we are so we can
- 59:44Speaker 1: speak to you. Yeah, yeah.
- 59:47Speaker 7: And if anybody out there is interested or if you
- 59:50Speaker 7: are a poet, the queen have a few projects that
- 59:54Speaker 7: she got going that she have spots and for you
- 59:57Speaker 7: to join in and maybe be a co-author or, you know,
- 1:00:02Speaker 7: even being on a billboard, you know, like me and
- 1:00:05Speaker 7: Cheryl are always on in Times Square in New York.
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: But those opportunities afford.
- 1:00:12Speaker 7: Us because for one, God brought us to her. And
- 1:00:17Speaker 7: the fact that she served God the way she does.
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: It's a given. It's a given.
- 1:00:23Speaker 7: So if anybody interested, you know, I'm sure maybe she'll
- 1:00:27Speaker 7: put her or I'll put down here her information and
- 1:00:31Speaker 7: come on over and I'm going to see what she's
- 1:00:33Speaker 7: got going on. But I promise you, you won't be disappointed.
- 1:00:42Speaker 7: So I got another one.
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: Let me see.
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:00:46Speaker 7: Nobody gave me a new question. There was some other questions.
- 1:00:50Speaker 7: I hadn't seen them coming up. If you guys, some
- 1:00:53Speaker 7: of the questions that we didn't ask, answer, put them
- 1:00:57Speaker 7: back through. Because we probably got like, I'm tired and
- 1:01:01Speaker 7: she didn't answer my question.
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: No, we got y'all. Just put it back through.
- 1:01:06Speaker 7: But the next question is, have you ever, I don't
- 1:01:11Speaker 7: know what you're going to say, but have you ever
- 1:01:16Speaker 7: shared a poem or reading a poem.
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: And someone said to you.
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: Oh my God, I need to.
- 1:01:27Speaker 2: Go to work. It don't have to have been down,
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: went down like that.
- 1:01:32Speaker 7: But just the fact that you know, are you aware
- 1:01:36Speaker 7: that your words have blessed somebody?
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: Yes. Just me speaking on the podcast has blessed someone.
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: That I know the last time I was up here
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: with Queen Angela and the rest of the audience, I
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: remember I couldn't even get up here. I don't know
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: if anybody was trying to be busy. And I know
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: young ladies at my church, when she did come back
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: and hear me, she was like, wow. Like, they didn't
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: know that was inside of me. They see me, I laugh,
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: I'm at church. But there was another side of me
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: that she'd seen. She was like, whoa. So to me, yes,
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: not just the poetry, but just me in general, because
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: the way I am on a podcast, A lot of
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: people to me say they see a different side of
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: me versus seeing church or having a conversation and they
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: see this side of me and be like, wow, that
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: is a whole nother you when you are speaking to
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: so many. Yes, in so many different ways and a
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: lot of different things I do. Yes, I have got
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: it like that really inspired me and I pray that
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: That always happens. I pray for the number one person,
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: whether it's poetry, whether it's a book, whether it's just
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: me itself, whether I'm up or not, that I inspire,
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: whether it's from a child to an adult. We're not
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: here for, even the billboard, when you said it, not me.
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: That's a legacy alone for the next generation. You know,
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: when we grow up, we see the elders that was
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: in slavery or the different things, and they inspire us.
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: But can you imagine a totally different Aunt Betty or whoever,
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: the kids say, look at Grandma. What? Grandma was up there?
- 1:03:33Speaker 7: No.
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: What?
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: Grandma was up there? What? Grandma did what?
- 1:03:40Speaker 2: We got the pictures. We're going to have the pictures somewhere.
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: Put them to see that.
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: That is more joy to me than anything I've seen.
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: To know that other young adults or young kids or
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: whoever is going to see that. You know, me more
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: than anything. Because poetry, Keisha, you are wonderful and good.
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: I just started this journey. I speak about poetry, but
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: I'm that new woman on the block.
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: Right, right.
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: The experience and so many others that have influenced me.
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: And I'm going to say this again, not putting Ms.
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: Angela on a pedestal, not putting her like that. But
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: to me, she pushed me in areas. Two people pushed me,
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: Debbie Foreman and I. They pushed me in areas. They
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: didn't allow me to say no.
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: You got to know your chance.
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: You got to know Ms. Andrew because she's like, what
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: are you talking about? And you have to get to
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: know her to understand the push. It's like my middle
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: son who used one side of his body who went
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: to A & T, was in the band in grad school.
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: He did football. He did this. They did not allow
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: him to say what he could not do. You understand?
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: So I helped him help myself. But when you see him,
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: you won't know. You have to know him.
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: Yes, right. Okay.
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: So with me, when Ms. Andrews say, like, I'm telling you,
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: even on this podcast, this time that Ms. Andrews is
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: telling me to get up there, she'll be like, I've
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: been waiting on you. I'll be on the wrong podcast.
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: You don't understand how she had pushed me off the cliff.
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: She was like, I was waiting on you. I was like,
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: I'm on the wrong one. I mean, the wrong email.
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: But I think the Lord, each of us that she
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: deal with, I cannot imagine together with different women and
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: everybody have different personalities and you could still put these
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: women together. Hey, that alone, because sometimes I look at myself,
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: I mean, I was up to like two o'clock in
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: the morning. I said, you don't see it. She said,
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: why is it taking you five hours to.
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: And I realized I left one letter off the S,
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: but it strengthened me to do it again. So for me,
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: I pray and I say this all the time when
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: I'm up here. There's nothing about me perfect or my family.
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: But I thank the Lord that even though I am
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: 60 years old and fabulous. Yeah, girl, because you what?
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: I'm 60. I love Ms. Angela, who I'm older than,
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: to come back to me and say something to me.
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: And even you, because sometimes people get set in their ways.
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: I know. I don't know. I can't say I know
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: how to do A, B, C, D, E, F, G,
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: not when it comes to books and poetry, because I'm
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: still learning.
- 1:06:58Speaker 2: So why not listen?
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: To you that have been doing poetry for a long time.
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: Why not coach Debbie that have been doing a podcast?
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: We got to get out of that. We get so
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: set in our ways because of our age and we
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: miss our own blessing. If we be quiet and listen
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: and take the correction instead of want somebody to say, oh,
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: you sick. No, no, no, no, no. In this world,
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: we block our learning by not listening. We block our
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: learning Because we set in our ways. What happened last year.
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: It's not working today. Right. So if I got some
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: young ones pushing me. Push me over the cliff. If
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: I know your love is there. Yes. And you need
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: no one to serve me wrong. But the problem is.
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: As individuals, we get scared. I don't want to do it.
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: Who she think she is?
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: For me, I'm going to be a boy every month.
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: I step out on the field. I step out on
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: the field and I be like, here I go. You
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: sit there. I'm going to add, subtract, multiply. I'm going
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: to shine with Miss Angela.
- 1:08:14Speaker 2: That's right.
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: That's just me and I pray that my young adults
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: is looking at them. Don't stay stagnant because my life
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: can change. My life changed being married for 20 years.
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: My life changed. My life changed. They told me I
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: couldn't have kids and I had them 34, 36, 38.
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: My life changed all the time. They got me under
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: now heart failure and lupus. It was heart failure, lupus
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: and cancer. So I'm going to tell you, don't let
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: that stuff stop you. from anything in life. If you
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: can walk, take five hours, keep walking.
- 1:08:58Speaker 2: Keep walking, yeah.
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: Life is too short. I just came from a funeral.
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: It breaks my heart. My cousin was 48 years old.
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: When I look at him, it breaks my heart because
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: a lot of times in life, a lot of us
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: can't deal with the things that come our way. I
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: speak that heavenly. And I pray you, my younger daughters listening,
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: don't let nothing in your life because it's a season.
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: Sometimes it's hard. Sometimes nobody can help us in that season.
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: I'm not going to say and tell anybody that I
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: don't have to get on my knees and cry. But
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: I know that he will bring us through. And then
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: we can sit back and say, I remember, you know.
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: That's right. I got to do it. You know, and
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: moving to Hartford was very hard. I mean, it was hard.
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: People would tell you I was still on the prayer
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: line at 5 a.m. in the morning.
- 1:10:00Speaker 7: What they say about prayer and churches, they're hospitals. So
- 1:10:06Speaker 7: I know you probably felt you had to be on
- 1:10:09Speaker 7: that line, even if you didn't say anything.
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: Yep. And I'm like that now. Even if I don't
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: say nothing, right? But you weren't. And when I'm not
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: on there, it's because I'm out of town. And sometimes
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: you don't wake up. Or either I overslept. Even if
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: I don't say nothing, I'd be like, I got to
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: be up here. Then I go to the 6th and
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: 7th to my ministry. Because when we wake up in
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: the morning, and this is what got me. There was
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: a time I would not have got up at 5
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: o'clock or 6 o'clock. We're going to keep it real.
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: I was like, what?
- 1:10:47Speaker 7: I got to wait for everybody? No.
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: So thank you, Lord, for changing me. Anybody that know me? No,
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: I was a work in progress. Yeah.
- 1:11:03Speaker 2: I was a work in progress.
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: But I went to work at 5, but I wouldn't
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: get on the prayer line at 5. So people need
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: to figure it out. I work 5 in the morning,
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: but when it came to prayer, I get up and
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: go to work. I am not doing that. My cousin
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: that's not here no more, she probably looking down and said,
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: I'm so tired.
- 1:11:24Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: The transformation. That's what it's about. I got to ask
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: you a question. I want to ask you a question.
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: I wanted to ask you this. You are a very
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: bubbly person and you never know when you are going
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: through something. And like I said, I admire you all
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: the time. So let me ask you a question. I
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: know that you are a poet and I know that
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: you write, but which one, if you had a choice,
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: Would you prefer writing a book without the poetry or
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: do you have to have some poetry in your book?
- 1:12:11Speaker 7: For me, I got to have poetry in my book
- 1:12:13Speaker 7: because that's what, how can I say?
- 1:12:18Speaker 2: I know it's a gift, definitely. And that's what I
- 1:12:21Speaker 2: thrive for. You know what I mean?
- 1:12:23Speaker 7: Like I can write a book, like if I'm writing my.
- 1:12:26Speaker 2: Memoir, you know, something like that.
- 1:12:29Speaker 7: You know what I'm saying? But to be real, and
- 1:12:37Speaker 7: I never thought I would feel this way in reference
- 1:12:40Speaker 7: to poetry.
- 1:12:41Speaker 2: I knew I loved poetry, but it took me so
- 1:12:44Speaker 2: long to pursue.
- 1:12:47Speaker 7: I guess it's between fear, going through being in a
- 1:12:53Speaker 7: relationship and don't feel like you can move, you know,
- 1:12:56Speaker 7: just so many different things. And now that God actually
- 1:13:01Speaker 7: showed me a platform that gives me the okay to
- 1:13:07Speaker 7: go and do what I do.
- 1:13:09Speaker 2: Yeah, it's poetry all the way. It's poetry.
- 1:13:13Speaker 7: It makes me happy. Because it's coming from me, I guess.
- 1:13:18Speaker 7: You know, it's my word. It's my feeling. Somebody said
- 1:13:25Speaker 7: to me, that I was the Mary J. Blige of
- 1:13:29Speaker 7: the world. Because you know, Mary, all her songs, I love,
- 1:13:36Speaker 7: that's my girl, all her songs and big hits come
- 1:13:39Speaker 7: from her life.
- 1:13:41Speaker 2: And most times when she was in pain, it's her hits.
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: You know, because that's.
- 1:13:49Speaker 7: When we just get more, we get more focused. The
- 1:13:53Speaker 7: most is when I think when I'm hurting, I don't
- 1:13:57Speaker 7: want to burden anybody. And I'm learning now, like, my
- 1:14:03Speaker 7: friends and family, they, you know, they can encourage me.
- 1:14:09Speaker 7: But at the end of the day, when I get
- 1:14:11Speaker 7: back home, I'm still by myself.
- 1:14:14Speaker 2: So I still got to see.
- 1:14:15Speaker 7: God and I go to my book. And that's what
- 1:14:18Speaker 7: gives me the most satisfaction.
- 1:14:22Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: Okay. Because I still do both and that's why I
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: was asking you. I got one more question to ask you, beautiful.
- 1:14:30Speaker 2: Okay, baby girl.
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: You look like you used to be a dancer. And
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: what I mean by that, modern dance or ballet. When
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: it comes to poetry and you had to move with it,
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: how would you go about it? If you had an
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: audience and you was in a play, what what poetry
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: would you use? Do you use the same thing you
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: use in a book or would you use something different
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: according to that play or what the audience want at
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: that time?
- 1:15:04Speaker 7: Yeah, and that's just like if someone asked me, well,
- 1:15:08Speaker 7: we got an event going and you said it was
- 1:15:11Speaker 7: dancing and I'm going to write something so they can dance,
- 1:15:15Speaker 7: you know, dance off with flow.
- 1:15:18Speaker 2: I wouldn't have to know. For one, I'm not going
- 1:15:21Speaker 2: to accept it.
- 1:15:23Speaker 7: If I don't know exactly everything about them.
- 1:15:27Speaker 2: And number two, what the whole thing is about. Why
- 1:15:31Speaker 2: are you doing this? You know, what is this about?
- 1:15:34Speaker 2: What is the story? And it would be the music, well, it.
- 1:15:39Speaker 7: Wouldn't even have to be music because it would be
- 1:15:42Speaker 7: me speaking.
- 1:15:43Speaker 2: So it was more of, it would be modern, but.
- 1:15:47Speaker 7: At the same time, a slow pace, more of like
- 1:15:50Speaker 7: a worshiping pace. More like praise dancing type pace. So
- 1:16:00Speaker 7: I remember one time my sister was giving something, but
- 1:16:04Speaker 7: I took too long. I took too long. She had
- 1:16:10Speaker 7: trusted me to do a piece like that. My sister
- 1:16:15Speaker 7: was a dancer. She was a dancer, jazz, like every
- 1:16:19Speaker 7: type of dance.
- 1:16:19Speaker 2: You could think of. That was her profession. Okay.
- 1:16:23Speaker 7: She was getting ready to give an event and she
- 1:16:25Speaker 7: was going to have people dance. I think it was
- 1:16:28Speaker 7: men doing break dancing. And she wanted them to dance
- 1:16:32Speaker 7: off of my voice, basically.
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: And my words.
- 1:16:35Speaker 7: And it seemed like it took me so long to
- 1:16:41Speaker 7: do that when I know I could get stuff like this.
- 1:16:44Speaker 7: But then, I'm glad I didn't do it because then.
- 1:16:49Speaker 2: It wouldn't have been right.
- 1:16:51Speaker 7: And that was a season in my life that I
- 1:16:53Speaker 7: was also going through something. So that wasn't it. You
- 1:16:58Speaker 7: know what I'm saying? I wanted to in my heart,
- 1:17:01Speaker 7: but I don't even think that was an opportunity that
- 1:17:05Speaker 7: God was giving me.
- 1:17:06Speaker 2: But I'm glad I was strong enough to just be like, no,
- 1:17:08Speaker 2: I can't. I can't imagine.
- 1:17:10Speaker 7: Unfortunately, because I was younger, I didn't say, no, I
- 1:17:13Speaker 7: can't even do it.
- 1:17:14Speaker 2: I just didn't.
- 1:17:15Speaker 7: I didn't do it. She wanted me to do, you know,
- 1:17:17Speaker 7: something else. But now they asked me that.
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: Oh my goodness.
- 1:17:24Speaker 2: That's different.
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: Yes, yes. You have a very... Because I remember growing up,
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: I lived in Newark, New Jersey, but I remember I
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: went to New York. My mother had me and I stopped.
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: Debbie Allen something dance place.
- 1:17:39Speaker 2: Yeah, that's where my sister used... My sister had... Yeah,
- 1:17:42Speaker 2: my sister used to work with them.
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: So I went and I think about it, but I stopped.
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: And I think... Then I probably was dealing with lupus
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: and didn't even know because I couldn't bend my legs
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: all the way when they folded down and I couldn't
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: keep going. But I just remember all the running we
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: did and all the jumping we did and everything that
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: we did, I was thinking about like, wow. But I
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: do think even though I was there, God was still
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: building me then. You know what I'm saying? So the tight,
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: the little, kite things and I was running running running
- 1:18:23Speaker 1: and sometimes I feel like that now God saying stop
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: running like sometimes we can do too much I mean
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: by that we don't I don't belong in every room
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: that's right so when I think about the running and
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: the moving if I'm on this podcast on Monday and
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: I'm on this podcast on Tuesday and I'm on here
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: going to play on Wednesday, God's saying, wait a minute,
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: when are you praying with me? When are you taking time?
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: You're writing books and you're doing poetry and you're here
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: and you're over there. I have to stop sometimes because
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: I think about When I was then, I would just,
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: you know how you run? It's like, hey, one, two, two, three, two, three, four. Sometimes, too,
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: the blessing is stop. So you can hear.
- 1:19:17Speaker 2: That's true. Yeah, that's true. That's true.
- 1:19:21Speaker 7: Because sometimes we be doing so much and don't be
- 1:19:23Speaker 7: doing nothing.
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: We distract.
- 1:19:26Speaker 2: We be doing so much and don't get anything done.
- 1:19:31Speaker 2: You know, it has happened to me.
- 1:19:33Speaker 7: And that's why I mean, I tell anybody I admire
- 1:19:37Speaker 7: a gay queen, Angela, you know, she can not come
- 1:19:41Speaker 7: up in this conversation because, you know, I look at
- 1:19:46Speaker 7: her and I feel like nothing but God. What she
- 1:19:52Speaker 7: do is nothing but from the grace of God, the
- 1:19:55Speaker 7: grace that God gives.
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: Her to do it.
- 1:19:57Speaker 7: Because, you know, he ain't gonna give you nothing to
- 1:19:59Speaker 7: do and then don't prepare you for it. Or let
- 1:20:02Speaker 7: you look crazy doing it. Because I was with an
- 1:20:07Speaker 7: organization a long time ago. And the woman was just
- 1:20:11Speaker 7: like the queen.
- 1:20:12Speaker 2: Just like her. But nothing got done. Every time we
- 1:20:16Speaker 2: turned around, you know.
- 1:20:17Speaker 7: It was always something different. But nothing got done. We
- 1:20:21Speaker 7: would jump into something else. And we was incomplete in
- 1:20:24Speaker 7: other areas, you know.
- 1:20:27Speaker 2: But that was her. See, this is what Queen is doing.
- 1:20:33Speaker 2: This is from God.
- 1:20:35Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:20:35Speaker 7: She's going to put God on this because there's no way.
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: There's no way.
- 1:20:41Speaker 2: You're talking about ADHD, yo. I wouldn't be right. Okay?
- 1:20:48Speaker 7: But she knew this, and I love that because I
- 1:20:51Speaker 7: told her, I wrote her earlier, we just saw a film,
- 1:20:54Speaker 7: and I said, You actually get things done.
- 1:20:57Speaker 2: So it's okay for you to miss a thing or two.
- 1:21:01Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying? You know, but I've never
- 1:21:06Speaker 2: met no woman like her.
- 1:21:08Speaker 7: I know a lot that actually do all these things
- 1:21:11Speaker 7: and you see them all birthed.
- 1:21:15Speaker 2: Right? They all be birthed. You see a co-author here,
- 1:21:18Speaker 2: a co-author here.
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: There, there.
- 1:21:22Speaker 7: And she's actually getting these books together and giving us.
- 1:21:26Speaker 2: A chance to be in.
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: Yeah. She taught collaboration. And let me say this. Collaboration
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: is powerful. A lot of times we collaborate with people
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: we know because we're comfortable with them. Coming over here
- 1:21:40Speaker 1: and not knowing everybody was a little different. Because you
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: know your family, you collaborate with them.
- 1:21:46Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: I'm black. Some people can't collaborate with their family. So
- 1:21:50Speaker 1: let me know what I'm talking about. But I'm blessed.
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: I have been able to be with Coach Debbie for
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: years and not just books. So that's the blessing. I'm
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: very honored that she allowed me to be me. But
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: what I'm saying is to come over if you don't
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: know you or a lot of women and to be
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: able to connect. You know that's the thing of God.
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: Because women alone, whether you're in church, whether it's in
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: your family, whatever it is, there's no jealousy. There's no envy.
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: If it is, God always move them out. By being
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: on a 5 a.m. prayer, you don't got to say nothing.
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: If it's not lined up with God, they're going to move.
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: For whatever reason, whether it's for their own journey sometimes,
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: that's a good thing. But not right in order is
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: going to move. So for me, to all of you all,
- 1:22:49Speaker 1: it has taught me something. Okay, sure. Like, when I
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: see Miss Angela putting a lot of stuff out, okay,
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: tell everybody. That's your point. I don't need to call
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: her and say, jumping over the fence. How about, sure,
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: you step out on faith. You've been around her six years. You...
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: this is what she is preparing us for okay let
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: me call some authors let me say a b d
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: e f g i need to do it's called transformation
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: she is preparing us to say okay if i take
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: a week off like you know how to get your
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: job co-manager if i take a week off nothing should
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: stop Everything should go on. It should not be. If
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: I don't do A, B, C, D, E, can't be done. Okay,
- 1:23:46Speaker 1: beautiful Keisha, beautiful LeGrand, beautiful Mary. I have shown you enough.
- 1:23:53Speaker 1: Why not share what I put out there? Why I
- 1:23:57Speaker 1: have to tell you to share? Why you want to
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: write a book and you don't promote it?
- 1:24:03Speaker 2: Promote it, yeah.
- 1:24:04Speaker 1: Why be on the book if you not going to
- 1:24:08Speaker 1: say anything? Why do we, Angela, have to keep sharing
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: our brand that we put in?
- 1:24:15Speaker 2: That's right. That's right.
- 1:24:18Speaker 3: Well, I'm going to come on because y'all been talking
- 1:24:21Speaker 3: about me enough.
- 1:24:23Speaker 2: Well, welcome. She's behind the scenes.
- 1:24:27Speaker 7: And now we're going to bring her up. I'm not
- 1:24:31Speaker 7: going to come on the screen.
- 1:24:33Speaker 3: I'm just going to talk for just a second. It
- 1:24:38Speaker 3: is truly God because if people knew the things that
- 1:24:44Speaker 3: I go through behind the scenes and the things that
- 1:24:46Speaker 3: I deal with, you know, I don't broadcast them. I
- 1:24:49Speaker 3: don't post them on the billboard. I don't put them
- 1:24:52Speaker 3: on a t-shirt nor a hat, but It is nothing
- 1:24:55Speaker 3: but truly God, you know, and I could not have
- 1:25:00Speaker 3: been here, but I know that God spared my life
- 1:25:03Speaker 3: for a reason. And therefore, everything that I do, I
- 1:25:07Speaker 3: want to honor him. I want to let people know
- 1:25:11Speaker 3: that God is still yet.
- 1:25:14Speaker 2: In control. He's still yet working.
- 1:25:16Speaker 3: You know, we, we may not see the Bible day miracles.
- 1:25:19Speaker 3: We may not see the walking on water, but God
- 1:25:22Speaker 3: is yet still performing miracles because he formed miracle in
- 1:25:26Speaker 3: my life.
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: Not just once, but he did it twice.
- 1:25:29Speaker 3: You know, the enemy, not just me, but people that
- 1:25:33Speaker 3: I come in contact with, people that I see every
- 1:25:36Speaker 3: day that's battling with different things. You know, the enemy,
- 1:25:41Speaker 3: his job is to kill, steal, and destroy. That's what
- 1:25:45Speaker 3: he set forth to do. You know, and he don't
- 1:25:48Speaker 3: want to see us collaborate. He want to see us
- 1:25:50Speaker 3: in competition. He want to see us not lifting each
- 1:25:53Speaker 3: other up. He want to see us pulling each other
- 1:25:55Speaker 3: down and tearing each other down because that's.
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: What he do.
- 1:25:59Speaker 3: That is what he do. And I think that, you know,
- 1:26:03Speaker 3: the gifts that God has placed within us, you know,
- 1:26:06Speaker 3: he said that they will work together for our good,
- 1:26:09Speaker 3: but it's to bring him glory.
- 1:26:11Speaker 2: I can't bring him glory.
- 1:26:13Speaker 3: By focusing on me because one of the greatest things
- 1:26:16Speaker 3: that one of the greatest gifts is, is to show love.
- 1:26:20Speaker 3: You know, it's so easy for us to show love
- 1:26:22Speaker 3: to our families and our friends, but the greatest, um,
- 1:26:27Speaker 3: The greatest show of love is being able to show
- 1:26:30Speaker 3: love to people that you don't know, people that that
- 1:26:33Speaker 3: you've never met before, people that you've not actually seen
- 1:26:37Speaker 3: in the physical. But to have that spiritual connection and
- 1:26:41Speaker 3: to be able to to to spread love and people
- 1:26:45Speaker 3: see it through your actions and you not have to,
- 1:26:48Speaker 3: you know, be there physically with them. You know, that
- 1:26:52Speaker 3: is what drives me. That is what presses me. That
- 1:26:56Speaker 3: is what keeps me going. You know, when I wake
- 1:26:58Speaker 3: up in the morning, my first thing before I get
- 1:27:01Speaker 3: on that prayer call is God bless me that I
- 1:27:06Speaker 3: may be able to be a blessing to somebody. Allow
- 1:27:08Speaker 3: these gifts and talents that you've given me to be
- 1:27:12Speaker 3: able to help somebody else, to be able to show
- 1:27:15Speaker 3: somebody else you and not me in the flesh. You know,
- 1:27:20Speaker 3: my desire is to be able to be a blessing
- 1:27:23Speaker 3: to others, that they may be a blessing to this world.
- 1:27:26Speaker 3: Because even if I don't see everything that I desire
- 1:27:29Speaker 3: to see in this world materialize and manifest, at least we.
- 1:27:33Speaker 2: Are preparing those that are coming after us.
- 1:27:36Speaker 3: You know, we're able to leave a legacy. We're able
- 1:27:38Speaker 3: to leave something that people can see the things that
- 1:27:41Speaker 3: we've done.
- 1:27:42Speaker 1: You know, even.
- 1:27:43Speaker 3: Through enduring the things that we.
- 1:27:45Speaker 2: Endure, we get pressed.
- 1:27:48Speaker 1: You know, I remember.
- 1:27:51Speaker 2: Laying on my bed of afflictions.
- 1:27:53Speaker 3: I remember being shot point blank range with a sawed
- 1:27:55Speaker 3: off shotgun and walking out the hospital within three days.
- 1:27:59Speaker 3: You know, that was nothing but God. You know, I
- 1:28:03Speaker 3: believe in, I believe in his word, you know, and
- 1:28:08Speaker 3: I believe in the, when three is presented before me,
- 1:28:13Speaker 3: I'm always reminded of the Father, the Son, and the
- 1:28:15Speaker 3: Holy Ghost. And I know that those three days reminded
- 1:28:19Speaker 3: me that the Father was yet working, that the Holy
- 1:28:23Speaker 3: Ghost was yet working, and he was yet in the midst.
- 1:28:27Speaker 2: Of what I was doing. Even when I.
- 1:28:31Speaker 3: Was diagnosed as a diabetic and suffering with a glucose
- 1:28:35Speaker 3: level of 1228, I should have been in a diabetic coma.
- 1:28:39Speaker 2: I should not have been lucid.
- 1:28:41Speaker 3: I should have been walking around not even knowing what's
- 1:28:44Speaker 3: going on, not even knowing my name. But yet I
- 1:28:47Speaker 3: was able to drive myself not just to the doctor
- 1:28:50Speaker 3: and back home, but when the doctors called me and
- 1:28:53Speaker 3: told me that I needed to go to the emergency
- 1:28:55Speaker 3: room because I was in the midst of a crisis,
- 1:28:58Speaker 3: I was able to drive myself to the hospital.
- 1:29:00Speaker 1: Amen. Hallelujah.
- 1:29:02Speaker 2: That was nothing but God. I know the power of
- 1:29:05Speaker 2: God and I yet see him working in my life.
- 1:29:08Speaker 3: I yet see him. So I can't sit down on him.
- 1:29:11Speaker 3: So every opportunity, when he lays something in my spirit,
- 1:29:14Speaker 3: I put it out there.
- 1:29:15Speaker 2: Whether people grab hold to it or not, I put
- 1:29:17Speaker 2: it out there.
- 1:29:18Speaker 3: And with me, it's not about money, but it's about
- 1:29:21Speaker 3: bringing him glory because he's given us these gifts and
- 1:29:24Speaker 3: talents and he didn't give it to.
- 1:29:26Speaker 2: Us to sit down on.
- 1:29:28Speaker 3: He didn't give it to us to sit down on.
- 1:29:30Speaker 3: We are to share with others what he's done. Our
- 1:29:34Speaker 3: testimonies may not come from a pulpit. It may not
- 1:29:38Speaker 3: come from a lot of different places, but he's given
- 1:29:42Speaker 3: us outlets.
- 1:29:43Speaker 2: He's given us podcasts.
- 1:29:44Speaker 1: He's given us magazines. He's given us books. He's given us.
- 1:29:47Speaker 2: Opportunity to speak before people.
- 1:29:50Speaker 3: He's given us a lot of opportunities that we can
- 1:29:52Speaker 3: share those testimonies, that we can tell somebody what he
- 1:29:56Speaker 3: did for us and how he did it. We can't
- 1:29:59Speaker 3: change the Bible, but yet God is yet still moving.
- 1:30:03Speaker 3: He said that we should do greater works. And greater
- 1:30:06Speaker 3: works shall people know. But they won't know it through
- 1:30:09Speaker 3: the Bible because we can't change the Bible. We can't
- 1:30:13Speaker 3: add to the Bible. We can't take away from the Bible.
- 1:30:16Speaker 3: But one thing we can do to show those greater
- 1:30:19Speaker 3: works that he's performing in our life is to leave
- 1:30:22Speaker 3: it through the things that he allowed.
- 1:30:24Speaker 7: Us through the books, through the podcast, through the magazine,
- 1:30:28Speaker 7: through the Everything that can be archived.
- 1:30:33Speaker 3: Everything that can be left so that people coming behind
- 1:30:36Speaker 3: us will have the opportunity to see what we've done.
- 1:30:40Speaker 3: Without changing his word.
- 1:30:42Speaker 1: That's right.
- 1:30:45Speaker 3: So that's why I do the things that I do.
- 1:30:49Speaker 3: You know, God has truly blessed me. Because he could
- 1:30:52Speaker 3: have took me out on my bed of affliction. There's
- 1:30:54Speaker 3: so many things that I did not do. And so
- 1:30:58Speaker 3: many times that I think I was not worthy. And
- 1:31:00Speaker 3: so many times that I think I was not right.
- 1:31:04Speaker 3: But when I moved out of the way and stopped
- 1:31:06Speaker 3: worrying about what people thought.
- 1:31:09Speaker 1: That's right.
- 1:31:10Speaker 3: I stopped being focused on what everybody around me was doing.
- 1:31:14Speaker 3: But focusing on that that he had called me to.
- 1:31:18Speaker 3: Because we all got a journey. We all got something
- 1:31:21Speaker 3: that we're supposed to be doing. He already mapped it
- 1:31:23Speaker 3: out for us.
- 1:31:24Speaker 2: Before we was even... Before we was conceived in our
- 1:31:27Speaker 2: mother's womb, he knew everything that we was going to
- 1:31:30Speaker 2: go through.
- 1:31:32Speaker 3: You know, it took me to continue to hear Charita say,
- 1:31:37Speaker 3: you know, oftentimes we hear people say that God would
- 1:31:40Speaker 3: not put more on us than we can bear. But
- 1:31:42Speaker 3: it hurt me sitting and listening. I listened to Charita
- 1:31:45Speaker 3: for almost three years. And every time she said, she said,
- 1:31:48Speaker 3: God would never put anything on you because he already knows.
- 1:31:51Speaker 2: What you are going to endure. He already knows everything
- 1:31:53Speaker 2: about you.
- 1:31:55Speaker 3: And it took me back to Genesis 2 and 7
- 1:31:57Speaker 3: when he said he breathed that breath of life into us.
- 1:32:01Speaker 3: Everything we needed was deposited in us. When that breath,
- 1:32:04Speaker 3: when he breathed in us, everything that we needed.
- 1:32:08Speaker 2: Was deposited in us.
- 1:32:10Speaker 3: So therefore, we ain't got to go around here talking
- 1:32:12Speaker 3: about discovering our purpose, discovering this, discovering that, discovering that.
- 1:32:18Speaker 2: All you got to do is tap into it.
- 1:32:21Speaker 7: All you got to do is tap into it.
- 1:32:23Speaker 3: Tap into that that is already in you.
- 1:32:28Speaker 1: And how do we do that?
- 1:32:31Speaker 3: We got to first seek first the kingdom of heaven.
- 1:32:34Speaker 3: And he said all things should be added. He didn't
- 1:32:39Speaker 3: say some things. He said all things. But we got
- 1:32:41Speaker 3: to align with his word. We got to be in
- 1:32:44Speaker 3: place so that we can receive those things.
- 1:32:47Speaker 2: That's right.
- 1:32:48Speaker 3: God is not coming. Look, ain't no white horse coming
- 1:32:51Speaker 3: out the sky. A lot of us waiting for somebody
- 1:32:55Speaker 3: to save us when he's already equipped us.
- 1:32:58Speaker 1: Ain't nobody going to save you.
- 1:33:00Speaker 3: If you want to be saved, you got to save yourself.
- 1:33:02Speaker 3: And that is tapping into those things that he's placed
- 1:33:05Speaker 3: within you. Allowing the God that is in you to
- 1:33:08Speaker 3: come forth.
- 1:33:09Speaker 2: Right, right, right. And that's what I do. Everything I
- 1:33:16Speaker 2: do Is God led? God ordained?
- 1:33:20Speaker 3: You know, I've been told people that I don't work
- 1:33:24Speaker 3: unto people. I work unto the Lord. You know, whether
- 1:33:28Speaker 3: I have a thousand people or if I have one person,
- 1:33:33Speaker 3: if that one person show up and say that they
- 1:33:35Speaker 3: want to be obedient to that, that God has called
- 1:33:37Speaker 3: them to, I'm going to go forth. I don't care
- 1:33:41Speaker 3: if it's four of us in a book. I don't
- 1:33:43Speaker 3: care if it's five of us in the book. I
- 1:33:44Speaker 3: don't care if it's only three of us in the book.
- 1:33:47Speaker 3: If God said go forth, I'm going forth. Because again,
- 1:33:50Speaker 3: like I say, it's not about monetary gain. It's not
- 1:33:54Speaker 3: about prestige and power.
- 1:33:57Speaker 2: But it's about.
- 1:33:59Speaker 3: Allowing his word to come forth and impacting lives. Because
- 1:34:04Speaker 3: he allowed us to see a new day. Somebody didn't
- 1:34:07Speaker 3: get to see this day that we are walking into.
- 1:34:10Speaker 3: He kept us throughout this day. Somebody didn't even make
- 1:34:14Speaker 3: it through the day. But we made it through this day.
- 1:34:18Speaker 3: We're in this hour. So we got to focus on
- 1:34:21Speaker 3: that that he's called us to and be grateful. See,
- 1:34:24Speaker 3: a lot of us, we don't even have gratitude. We
- 1:34:26Speaker 3: go throughout this day just thinking that it's normal, that
- 1:34:30Speaker 3: this is just what's supposed to be happening. We don't
- 1:34:32Speaker 3: even give him praise for the little things. He woke
- 1:34:36Speaker 3: us up this morning. He allowed us to get up
- 1:34:39Speaker 3: without having an alarm. So many new things that happen.
- 1:34:43Speaker 3: We don't even reflect on the things that he's done
- 1:34:45Speaker 3: for us. We don't even thank him for seeing us
- 1:34:48Speaker 3: throughout this day. A lot of us, we go to
- 1:34:50Speaker 3: bed and we lay down. We just think that it's
- 1:34:52Speaker 3: just going to be normal, that it's just expected that
- 1:34:55Speaker 3: we're going to wake up in the morning.
- 1:34:57Speaker 2: That's right.
- 1:34:58Speaker 3: That's right.
- 1:34:58Speaker 1: We're going to wake up in the morning. So you
- 1:35:01Speaker 1: got to give.
- 1:35:01Speaker 3: Him praise when you lay down, before you lay down,
- 1:35:04Speaker 3: before your head hit that pillow.
- 1:35:06Speaker 2: You got to thank him. Even if you lay down,
- 1:35:09Speaker 2: all you got to do is say, Lord, I thank
- 1:35:10Speaker 2: you for this night that you allowed me to walk home.
- 1:35:13Speaker 2: Just thank him. He just want to be acknowledged.
- 1:35:16Speaker 1: That's all.
- 1:35:17Speaker 2: He don't want a lone dog out heaping and hollering
- 1:35:20Speaker 2: and da-da-da-da-da-da. He don't want all that.
- 1:35:24Speaker 1: He just wants you to take it.
- 1:35:26Speaker 3: He just wants you to acknowledge him, to know that, hey,
- 1:35:29Speaker 3: we ain't got no power.
- 1:35:31Speaker 2: But through him, through him, we got all power. And
- 1:35:36Speaker 2: all things are possible.
- 1:35:38Speaker 1: So I thank y'all.
- 1:35:39Speaker 2: You know, I give him honor.
- 1:35:42Speaker 3: I give him glory. I give him praise because I'm
- 1:35:45Speaker 3: not able to do nothing without him. You know, he
- 1:35:48Speaker 3: knew everything that I would go through before I was
- 1:35:51Speaker 3: even conceived in my mother's womb. And he knew what
- 1:35:55Speaker 3: things were going to take me to get in place
- 1:35:58Speaker 3: where I needed to be because he already mapped out
- 1:36:00Speaker 3: our lives.
- 1:36:01Speaker 2: You know some things.
- 1:36:03Speaker 3: Some things we may not understand while we go through
- 1:36:06Speaker 3: but know that everything worked together for all good to
- 1:36:10Speaker 3: bring him glory we may go to the left sometime
- 1:36:14Speaker 3: we may go to the right sometime but guess what
- 1:36:16Speaker 3: when he ready to snatch us back in and align
- 1:36:19Speaker 3: us right where we supposed.
- 1:36:20Speaker 2: To do he gonna do that he gonna do that.
- 1:36:23Speaker 1: And he don't need He do not need our help.
- 1:36:27Speaker 2: He don't need our help. All he need is our obedience.
- 1:36:30Speaker 2: That's all he need. It's our obedience.
- 1:36:33Speaker 1: That's it.
- 1:36:35Speaker 2: That's it. And I'm gone.
- 1:36:38Speaker 1: And I'm gone.
- 1:36:42Speaker 7: I can go come in preaching like that and then
- 1:36:44Speaker 7: talk about how bad it is.
- 1:36:48Speaker 1: Oh, my goodness.
- 1:36:49Speaker 2: I could have finished up the podcast with all of that.
- 1:36:52Speaker 2: I tell you, she just.
- 1:36:54Speaker 7: Gives you, you know, she, her, hearing her talk, you
- 1:36:58Speaker 7: could hear the passion, right? And the gratitude in every time.
- 1:37:06Speaker 2: She talked about them. And she's right. We're all supposed
- 1:37:11Speaker 2: to be like that because.
- 1:37:12Speaker 7: We all have had things that happened in our lives
- 1:37:16Speaker 7: that we probably haven't shared. But those are testimonies because
- 1:37:20Speaker 7: we're still here. We're still here because I know Queen has,
- 1:37:27Speaker 7: I can't even remember how I met her.
- 1:37:30Speaker 2: It was something like, oh, I'm in this business organization.
- 1:37:35Speaker 2: And the young lady, she used to be my coach.
- 1:37:37Speaker 2: She said that, I think that, I know you want
- 1:37:41Speaker 2: to write. And I know somebody I can connect you with.
- 1:37:44Speaker 2: And she connected me with, you know, with Queen.
- 1:37:47Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:37:48Speaker 1: Yeah, she connect me.
- 1:37:49Speaker 7: With, I think it's called Real Sisters Robinson Business Association.
- 1:37:55Speaker 7: And she is, and I will love her to life
- 1:37:59Speaker 7: always just for making that connection.
- 1:38:02Speaker 2: Like you were saying, collaboration. You know what I'm saying?
- 1:38:05Speaker 2: She didn't have to do that.
- 1:38:06Speaker 7: She could have kept me, you know, not even knowing
- 1:38:08Speaker 7: that kept me over there doing.
- 1:38:10Speaker 2: What she had me doing over there.
- 1:38:11Speaker 7: But she introduced me to an opportunity. And from then on,
- 1:38:17Speaker 7: You don't even know how it happened when you came
- 1:38:20Speaker 7: to somebody racist.
- 1:38:22Speaker 2: You don't know how it happened. Like, you don't even
- 1:38:23Speaker 2: know how we actually started talking. You know what I'm saying?
- 1:38:27Speaker 2: And from our closeness, and we don't even.
- 1:38:30Speaker 1: You.
- 1:38:30Speaker 2: Know what I'm saying?
- 1:38:33Speaker 7: So, I thank her for that, because like you said,
- 1:38:38Speaker 7: she did push me out, too. She pushed me out
- 1:38:42Speaker 7: on the cliff. And I'm glad she did, because my
- 1:38:44Speaker 7: family was like, well, by.
- 1:38:45Speaker 2: The time Jesus... The whole time. Love you too, mommy.
- 1:38:50Speaker 2: That's my mother. She said love you too.
- 1:38:52Speaker 1: Oh, no.
- 1:38:53Speaker 2: She's saying that to Queen. Queen, my mommy said I
- 1:38:56Speaker 2: love you.
- 1:38:56Speaker 7: Yeah, she love herself as a queen.
- 1:39:01Speaker 2: I love her too.
- 1:39:03Speaker 1: She pushed me out.
- 1:39:05Speaker 2: She pushed me out there. Because I remember talking to
- 1:39:09Speaker 2: her because I was doing stuff on YouTube, but I
- 1:39:14Speaker 2: was inconsistent. You know what I'm saying? I don't know.
- 1:39:17Speaker 7: Maybe God, that's not where he wanted me to stop.
- 1:39:20Speaker 7: That's why I wasn't working.
- 1:39:22Speaker 1: And she kept.
- 1:39:22Speaker 2: Telling me about the problem. Kept telling me about the problem.
- 1:39:25Speaker 2: And I'm not going to lie.
- 1:39:26Speaker 7: I had a little fear when it came down. I
- 1:39:29Speaker 7: had every story in.
- 1:39:31Speaker 2: The book to do it.
- 1:39:32Speaker 7: And I'm saying, why am I fearing that when I'm
- 1:39:35Speaker 7: over here on YouTube and I'm going live?
- 1:39:38Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying?
- 1:39:39Speaker 2: So, wow. She was like, well, you got an opportunity.
- 1:39:43Speaker 2: She said, when you're going to do it, because you know.
- 1:39:46Speaker 7: Giving me a platform and look at how at that
- 1:39:52Speaker 7: time I didn't take that opportunity but who would have known.
- 1:39:56Speaker 2: That either way God was going to.
- 1:39:58Speaker 7: Still push me toward podcast because I was going to
- 1:40:02Speaker 7: win the 2026 gold of the year and this is
- 1:40:06Speaker 7: one of the blessings that I was able she was
- 1:40:12Speaker 7: able to share with me during that time You know,
- 1:40:15Speaker 7: so I'm looking at the preparation. So even when the
- 1:40:20Speaker 7: crown goes to someone else, it's.
- 1:40:23Speaker 1: Like, I'm prepared.
- 1:40:24Speaker 2: I'm prepared. So what a podcast.
- 1:40:29Speaker 1: Tween. I'm coming. I'm coming.
- 1:40:34Speaker 2: Because now.
- 1:40:37Speaker 7: It's like I feel, I know I'm ready now. I
- 1:40:39Speaker 7: probably was ready before, but it wasn't where people wanted
- 1:40:43Speaker 7: me to stop. Not saying I don't have to go
- 1:40:45Speaker 7: over there and make a presence over there, because on YouTube,
- 1:40:50Speaker 7: I was mainly.
- 1:40:51Speaker 2: Talking about lupus.
- 1:40:52Speaker 7: It was just like, oh, encouraging people to lupus. And
- 1:40:56Speaker 7: I kept switching up what.
- 1:40:58Speaker 2: I was doing.
- 1:40:59Speaker 7: I kept switching up, you know.
- 1:41:01Speaker 2: What I was doing. It wasn't working.
- 1:41:04Speaker 7: It wasn't working because I wasn't doing exactly what he
- 1:41:06Speaker 7: wanted me to do. I should have kept it with
- 1:41:09Speaker 7: just talking about lupus and encouraging people with lupus because that's.
- 1:41:13Speaker 2: What that platform is for.
- 1:41:15Speaker 7: So I thank her for giving me this opportunity to
- 1:41:18Speaker 7: be a broadcaster because it was actually my first experience
- 1:41:24Speaker 7: to see how all of this, you know, how all
- 1:41:27Speaker 7: of this works.
- 1:41:28Speaker 2: Trust and go, baby. Amen.
- 1:41:33Speaker 1: I was going to say to you, even with that platform,
- 1:41:36Speaker 1: it still prepared you for here. And because you already
- 1:41:40Speaker 1: got the platform there, you could just open it right
- 1:41:42Speaker 1: back up. See, I look at anything that I didn't
- 1:41:46Speaker 1: finish or correct, it was a journey to get me
- 1:41:49Speaker 1: to plan B. And you know, for me, I met
- 1:41:53Speaker 1: her through Coach Debbie when I was starting writing books
- 1:41:57Speaker 1: with her. I'll never forget. It was me, Ms. Saunders,
- 1:42:00Speaker 1: and I'll never forget you said, it's time for y'all
- 1:42:03Speaker 1: to do something else. I'm going to be helping people
- 1:42:07Speaker 1: write books. All I did was shoot them. Now, you're
- 1:42:09Speaker 1: going to do what? She said, no, I'm going to
- 1:42:11Speaker 1: give you a list and I'm going to give you
- 1:42:14Speaker 1: some names. I was like, she got me. But what
- 1:42:20Speaker 1: I did, that's how I met Ms. Angela. I had
- 1:42:23Speaker 1: to send an email. whatever. And it's been everything. And
- 1:42:25Speaker 1: the funny thing is coach Debbie already knew her and
- 1:42:29Speaker 1: was following her. And I didn't know that.
- 1:42:31Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:42:31Speaker 1: You understand? So when God do something, he already helped
- 1:42:37Speaker 1: our steps.
- 1:42:39Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:42:40Speaker 1: Doing. And for me, for me, it was pushing me.
- 1:42:44Speaker 1: I might've been strong in one area, but I might've
- 1:42:47Speaker 1: been another.
- 1:42:48Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:42:50Speaker 1: Of this i'm gonna get you from someone you're comfortable
- 1:42:53Speaker 1: with and i'm gonna put you in something you don't
- 1:42:55Speaker 1: even know no so because with coach debbie even though
- 1:42:59Speaker 1: she pushed me over the cliff that still was a
- 1:43:01Speaker 1: phenomenon i.
- 1:43:02Speaker 2: Could go over here yeah right.
- 1:43:07Speaker 1: Um you're gonna write for she huh you gotta send
- 1:43:09Speaker 1: an email what so she put right right and then
- 1:43:13Speaker 1: my children was in the house i'd be like Y'all
- 1:43:15Speaker 1: got to help me do this and that. God said,
- 1:43:17Speaker 1: you know what? I'm going to take you to another level.
- 1:43:20Speaker 1: Ain't none of us going to be around. Now what?
- 1:43:24Speaker 2: Now you got to figure it out.
- 1:43:26Speaker 1: You still going to have to send this email because
- 1:43:30Speaker 1: that was also a crutch. Okay, I got to be
- 1:43:34Speaker 1: on her podcast at 8 o'clock. I need y'all to
- 1:43:36Speaker 1: set everything up.
- 1:43:38Speaker 2: Or they'll be like, She can't hear me.
- 1:43:45Speaker 1: And then they'll come up on the screen and turn
- 1:43:49Speaker 1: it up. But God said, I'm going to remove all
- 1:43:52Speaker 1: of that. Because I'm taking you. You got to be prepared.
- 1:43:59Speaker 1: So he did. And it's not as bad as we think.
- 1:44:03Speaker 1: We hold our own self hostage because of what we do.
- 1:44:13Speaker 1: But if we trust God in one area, we can't
- 1:44:18Speaker 1: live in him in the other. It's like, okay, I'm
- 1:44:20Speaker 1: going to come to town. I went to Kansas. I'm
- 1:44:23Speaker 1: going to trust him. He said, okay, I need you
- 1:44:25Speaker 1: to trust me in everything.
- 1:44:27Speaker 2: In everything.
- 1:44:28Speaker 1: To your children. They belong to me. It's not what's
- 1:44:36Speaker 1: going to happen. You got to pray for them. You
- 1:44:41Speaker 1: belong to me. when we start making our blessings our idol.
- 1:44:48Speaker 7: It becomes a problem a big problem that we.
- 1:44:52Speaker 1: Have to belong to us and I'm going to say
- 1:44:56Speaker 1: this it took me to go through these trials and
- 1:45:00Speaker 1: tribulations to get to the point because we can get
- 1:45:04Speaker 1: comfortable God said no no no I'm going to go
- 1:45:07Speaker 1: some ranches I'm going to go some bushes so my
- 1:45:11Speaker 1: I'm tribulation is the reason why I'm here because one
- 1:45:15Speaker 1: time I was going to church and even though I
- 1:45:17Speaker 1: was praying, okay, going to church don't mean you hear God.
- 1:45:22Speaker 2: That's at all.
- 1:45:25Speaker 1: At all. You can be just a church girl.
- 1:45:29Speaker 7: It's not the same.
- 1:45:32Speaker 1: But when you really go, it's going to show. Like
- 1:45:37Speaker 1: I heard a preacher that went to church He said,
- 1:45:40Speaker 1: you keep saying you got communion. This ain't no communion.
- 1:45:43Speaker 1: Do you call them a year later? Or are you
- 1:45:46Speaker 1: going through reading the word, like Ms. Andrew said? Or
- 1:45:50Speaker 1: are you just coming here religiously? That make you... I
- 1:45:54Speaker 1: don't want to do anything religiously.
- 1:45:58Speaker 2: No, you don't want to.
- 1:45:59Speaker 1: Everything from the kingdom, even through my heart. So even
- 1:46:03Speaker 1: with this podcast, I was like, okay, I got to
- 1:46:06Speaker 1: get up here. Okay, I hope that's right. Here we go.
- 1:46:12Speaker 1: And every time I get ready to get up here,
- 1:46:14Speaker 1: it's so many distractions. I'm not even going to speak
- 1:46:18Speaker 1: that no more. Let me just get up here because
- 1:46:21Speaker 1: I don't want to get in power and say every
- 1:46:25Speaker 1: time I get on the podcast. So this time I say,
- 1:46:31Speaker 1: you know what? Let me pray before I get up
- 1:46:33Speaker 1: here and.
- 1:46:33Speaker 2: Say, God, help and guide and.
- 1:46:36Speaker 1: Lead me so you distraction, but sometimes we speak it
- 1:46:41Speaker 1: before it comes.
- 1:46:42Speaker 2: That's so true.
- 1:46:46Speaker 1: To be a distraction, to be so complete. Oh my gosh,
- 1:46:49Speaker 1: when I get up here, I got to pray. I just, no, no, no, no, no.
- 1:46:51Speaker 1: Can't keep saying the same prayer all the time. It
- 1:46:54Speaker 1: got to change. How about when I get up tonight,
- 1:46:57Speaker 1: it's going to go good. How about tonight God going
- 1:47:00Speaker 1: to use me? How about when I get up teacher,
- 1:47:02Speaker 1: and Mr. Lance, you're going to say something that inspires
- 1:47:05Speaker 1: one person. How about you guide us through our heart
- 1:47:09Speaker 1: and not speak, you know, accordingly. We're going to speak
- 1:47:12Speaker 1: because we need to guide us up here. And you
- 1:47:15Speaker 1: know what? I haven't had no complications because I took
- 1:47:17Speaker 1: this story out before I got up here.
- 1:47:20Speaker 2: You understand?
- 1:47:25Speaker 1: I got the same phone beside me right now because
- 1:47:29Speaker 1: I didn't give him a chance to come in. I said,
- 1:47:32Speaker 1: you know what? I'm going to stop saying that. I'm
- 1:47:35Speaker 1: going to stop saying, you know, how about I say,
- 1:47:39Speaker 1: I pray and that one person did not say something
- 1:47:43Speaker 1: to me. So I'm going to say this before we
- 1:47:44Speaker 1: get off. Father, thank you for allowing us to be
- 1:47:47Speaker 1: up here. I know you here. We're not no preachers.
- 1:47:50Speaker 1: We're not no pastors. We're not no apostles. I'm not
- 1:47:53Speaker 1: trying to change nobody's life or their format. The only
- 1:47:56Speaker 1: advice I can give you from experience, I know my God.
- 1:48:00Speaker 1: I don't know nothing else. He is a healer, a provider.
- 1:48:03Speaker 1: He would take care of your problems, your tribulations, your mistakes,
- 1:48:07Speaker 1: and your issues. You don't have to worry about him
- 1:48:09Speaker 1: talking about you when you fall. You don't have come
- 1:48:12Speaker 1: down on you when you make a mistake. That's what
- 1:48:14Speaker 1: I can give you because I am a single mom
- 1:48:17Speaker 1: with three through the lupus. I can try that you
- 1:48:21Speaker 1: know nothing about the pain, but I am going to
- 1:48:23Speaker 1: say again so everybody can hear me. Don't think you
- 1:48:26Speaker 1: have to be rich to write a book or be
- 1:48:29Speaker 1: on the billboard or any journey that you do. Once
- 1:48:33Speaker 1: you give it to God and present it to him,
- 1:48:36Speaker 1: he will lead you. But if you listen to Aunt
- 1:48:39Speaker 1: Betty and Uncle John and everybody around you, when December
- 1:48:44Speaker 1: and January come, you are going to be sitting in
- 1:48:47Speaker 1: the same place.
- 1:48:49Speaker 2: And that's okay.
- 1:48:50Speaker 1: I ain't condemning nobody. If that's the life that you love,
- 1:48:53Speaker 1: but don't condemn the ones who up here and is trying.
- 1:48:57Speaker 1: If you don't like it, fine. That is you. Don't
- 1:49:01Speaker 1: knock the ones who out here pushing. If you don't
- 1:49:05Speaker 1: want to push and you want to work nine to five,
- 1:49:07Speaker 1: I love you so much. I want to push and
- 1:49:13Speaker 1: continue whether you support me or not. This is something
- 1:49:17Speaker 1: that God has left on my heart and I still
- 1:49:20Speaker 1: love you. Simple. And I do pray that I say
- 1:49:25Speaker 1: something every time I get up here. Whatever you do,
- 1:49:30Speaker 1: I'm going to say it again. Just trust him. Just
- 1:49:33Speaker 1: trust him. Our life is not perfect. We don't have
- 1:49:37Speaker 1: it all together. We might not even have all the findings.
- 1:49:41Speaker 1: We don't have all the solutions. We ain't got it
- 1:49:44Speaker 1: going on. But we can tell you, Queen Angela, Queen Keisha,
- 1:49:49Speaker 1: Queen Sabrina, we can tell you, but we don't know
- 1:49:53Speaker 1: nothing else that God has brought us through. And we
- 1:49:58Speaker 1: don't tell you nothing else tonight. We can tell you
- 1:50:03Speaker 1: why we are here. Because God did it.
- 1:50:07Speaker 2: Through everything.
- 1:50:11Speaker 1: Every gift and talent. We can tell you that. And
- 1:50:16Speaker 1: for that, whether you want to write a book, drive
- 1:50:18Speaker 1: a truck, be a movie star, whatever you want to do.
- 1:50:22Speaker 1: Do music. All my children are different. But know that
- 1:50:26Speaker 1: they do not die in vain. different talent and it's
- 1:50:34Speaker 1: sitting here if you don't want to leave for yourself
- 1:50:37Speaker 1: leave it for your children you know we got to
- 1:50:39Speaker 1: play for our children because a lot of times they
- 1:50:45Speaker 1: are searching for that dream and we can help them
- 1:50:50Speaker 1: by how we are living they can look at us
- 1:50:54Speaker 1: and still go out here and do something crazy But
- 1:50:56Speaker 1: guess what? It would be a memory for them to say,
- 1:50:59Speaker 1: you know what? Wow. Mama, Aunt Betty, whoever did such
- 1:51:04Speaker 1: and such. We got so many beautiful people in prison.
- 1:51:08Speaker 1: That's right. They can sing. They can dance. And it's
- 1:51:15Speaker 1: up to us to plant that seed now for our
- 1:51:18Speaker 1: babies and for ourselves. And we are never too old
- 1:51:22Speaker 1: to do it. And we are not too young. I
- 1:51:24Speaker 1: look at Patrice's beautiful daughter. that's young, that's on the billboard.
- 1:51:29Speaker 1: I look at my beautiful sister, Miss Stella, that's on
- 1:51:32Speaker 1: the billboard. Let me tell you something. That gives me
- 1:51:36Speaker 1: hope from the youngest to the oldest. As you have
- 1:51:41Speaker 1: 100 years old, let me tell you something. Age don't matter.
- 1:51:45Speaker 1: It's what's in our heart.
- 1:51:46Speaker 7: Age don't matter.
- 1:51:50Speaker 1: That's what I'm telling people. I wasn't always like this.
- 1:51:53Speaker 1: People know on Facebook I was a hot mess. And
- 1:51:56Speaker 1: God took someone like me and transformed. So I pray
- 1:52:00Speaker 1: all the ones that know me say, whoa. And one
- 1:52:03Speaker 1: of my friends from Greenbridge, she said.
- 1:52:04Speaker 2: I know it's a guy.
- 1:52:09Speaker 1: And I love her. And it's vegan. I hope you
- 1:52:11Speaker 1: listen to vegan. She said, because Lord, when I see
- 1:52:14Speaker 1: him change you, that's what I want you to say.
- 1:52:17Speaker 1: Because I was a hot man. I want you to say,
- 1:52:20Speaker 1: if Cheryl can jump over the fence, I can do it.
- 1:52:25Speaker 1: I really do. I pray everybody that know I was
- 1:52:29Speaker 1: a hot mess said, whoa, I remember when. I want
- 1:52:32Speaker 1: you to remember because yes, you join this with me.
- 1:52:37Speaker 1: That's all I'm saying. Keisha, I'm going to.
- 1:52:39Speaker 2: Let you finish. It's funny because we have gifts, talents,
- 1:52:45Speaker 2: and all of those things. We don't know. I had
- 1:52:50Speaker 2: to learn this too. We don't know that. I think
- 1:52:53Speaker 2: it really convicted me that.
- 1:52:56Speaker 7: Those times I didn't share. Somebody else was struggling because
- 1:53:05Speaker 7: they didn't have my story.
- 1:53:07Speaker 2: They didn't have my words.
- 1:53:08Speaker 7: They didn't have my encouragement because of fear or whatever
- 1:53:12Speaker 7: it was. That's also something else that made me think about, you.
- 1:53:18Speaker 2: Know, going forth.
- 1:53:21Speaker 7: Once I knew that was what the Lord wanted me
- 1:53:23Speaker 7: to do was to go forth. I'm like, no, I
- 1:53:27Speaker 7: got to open my mouth.
- 1:53:28Speaker 2: I won't be silent.
- 1:53:29Speaker 7: I'm not going to be silent about what he did
- 1:53:31Speaker 7: for me, what he continues to do for me, whether
- 1:53:34Speaker 7: I see it or not.
- 1:53:36Speaker 2: I can't be silent about it. I can't be silent
- 1:53:38Speaker 2: about my testimony.
- 1:53:40Speaker 7: You know about how he has saved my life.
- 1:53:44Speaker 2: A couple of times. You know what I'm saying? Just
- 1:53:46Speaker 2: like I think all of us.
- 1:53:48Speaker 7: We shouldn't be here because of some of the things
- 1:53:52Speaker 7: we went through, but who saved us?
- 1:53:55Speaker 1: Did you hear last week my friend Angela Langham? And
- 1:53:58Speaker 1: I could just cry. She still got up here. And
- 1:54:03Speaker 1: I tell people all the time, she went through so much.
- 1:54:08Speaker 1: And we prayed and prayed. And my sister got up here.
- 1:54:11Speaker 1: Let me tell y'all something. You don't know what somebody
- 1:54:15Speaker 1: is going through. Yeah, yeah, they talking together. Let me
- 1:54:19Speaker 1: tell you something. I admire every sister, every brother can
- 1:54:22Speaker 1: come up here and say, I had a stroke or
- 1:54:25Speaker 1: I had a heart attack. I went through lupus. I
- 1:54:28Speaker 1: went through cancer. I have obstacles and trials. And you
- 1:54:32Speaker 1: can still come up here and still say, thank you, Lord.
- 1:54:37Speaker 1: That is truly me that motivate me and say, you
- 1:54:42Speaker 1: know what, LaGrange? You can push. Some people's stories, People
- 1:54:47Speaker 1: don't know, so they're always on Facebook and this and that.
- 1:54:49Speaker 1: Let me tell you something. I call all my beautiful sisters.
- 1:54:54Speaker 1: You hear me say it? Everybody. Because everybody's story is different.
- 1:55:01Speaker 1: I could see so many of our women come together
- 1:55:06Speaker 1: and share. To me, that is powerful alone. The good,
- 1:55:12Speaker 1: the bad, the ugly. But to see them stand and
- 1:55:15Speaker 1: rise and tell their story, they motivate me. That prayer
- 1:55:19Speaker 1: line I give them motivate me every day. They get
- 1:55:23Speaker 1: up there and pray for others every single day. If
- 1:55:27Speaker 1: you want something and it's not motivating you, that's an
- 1:55:31Speaker 1: issue alone. That's an issue for those that I pray.
- 1:55:36Speaker 1: Because I get motivated every day from the time that
- 1:55:39Speaker 1: I wake up in the morning. Because my story, I'm
- 1:55:44Speaker 1: not supposed to be here through my story. In fact,
- 1:55:49Speaker 1: I had my daughter, I went through procapsin and toxemia
- 1:55:53Speaker 1: and had to sign up for my ex-husband and mom.
- 1:55:57Speaker 1: Because they said, my baby's going to have Down syndrome
- 1:56:00Speaker 1: or this or that because of my age. Mm-hmm. So
- 1:56:03Speaker 1: I would tell anybody, I don't care if it's my
- 1:56:05Speaker 1: family or whoever, that whatever it is in life that
- 1:56:10Speaker 1: you want to do, Don't wait to do it. If
- 1:56:13Speaker 1: it don't work the first time, so what? If we
- 1:56:16Speaker 1: can go on our job and do 24, 30 years
- 1:56:20Speaker 1: and give somebody else the victory where they making money
- 1:56:23Speaker 1: off of us and can fire us at any given.
- 1:56:26Speaker 2: Time, why would we do the same.
- 1:56:27Speaker 1: Thing for ourselves? But we'll go to John or Ralph
- 1:56:32Speaker 1: and work 30 years and they can fire us at
- 1:56:36Speaker 1: any given time. but we won't take the time for
- 1:56:41Speaker 1: our own self.
- 1:56:43Speaker 2: So in other words, have that same energy. You know
- 1:56:47Speaker 2: what I'm saying?
- 1:56:48Speaker 7: But what God has given you to give, because what
- 1:56:50Speaker 7: God has given us is not for us to keep.
- 1:56:53Speaker 7: It's not for us to keep it, you know, keep
- 1:56:55Speaker 7: it a secret. He gave it to us for us to.
- 1:56:56Speaker 2: Give it away.
- 1:56:58Speaker 7: You know, I remember speaking at my sister's tribute and that's.
- 1:57:01Speaker 2: What I told them because they were young adults. And
- 1:57:03Speaker 2: I told them, like, matter of fact, I was in
- 1:57:05Speaker 2: high school.
- 1:57:06Speaker 7: I told them what she put in me what God
- 1:57:09Speaker 7: put in her and she was able to put in you,
- 1:57:12Speaker 7: don't just hold on to that.
- 1:57:14Speaker 2: Give it away. You know what I'm saying?
- 1:57:17Speaker 7: Because the more you talk and the more you, you know,
- 1:57:22Speaker 7: you get to share, you don't know who life you
- 1:57:26Speaker 7: even saved at that point.
- 1:57:29Speaker 2: So, you know, everybody, we just want to thank you
- 1:57:33Speaker 2: all who was with us tonight. I'm going to.
- 1:57:38Speaker 7: I know we have one question, but we got two minutes,
- 1:57:40Speaker 7: so we might not be able to answer that. But
- 1:57:43Speaker 7: I'm just going to answer it. Yes, I write to heal.
- 1:57:47Speaker 7: Somebody wrote, do we write to heal, inspire? I can't
- 1:57:51Speaker 7: remember what the other stuff was, but I write to
- 1:57:55Speaker 7: heal because I.
- 1:57:57Speaker 2: Know what I was going through, if somebody.
- 1:58:01Speaker 7: Had came to me with what I was giving away, that.
- 1:58:08Speaker 2: Would have helped me. It would have really helped me.
- 1:58:10Speaker 7: So I do write so people could, I would say
- 1:58:14Speaker 7: not heal, but begin that process.
- 1:58:17Speaker 2: Because only God will heal somebody.
- 1:58:19Speaker 7: So I would just want that process to make you think,
- 1:58:24Speaker 7: to make you, you know, make you think. So like
- 1:58:26Speaker 7: Cheryl said, Share your dreams.
- 1:58:29Speaker 2: Continue to dream. Don't let your diagnosis.
- 1:58:32Speaker 7: Or anything predict what your future could be.
- 1:58:36Speaker 2: Only God can do that. So, we are out.
- 1:58:41Speaker 7: Next show is going to be in, I believe, November.
- 1:58:44Speaker 7: I think it's November 2026. It'll be the last time
- 1:58:49Speaker 7: that you'll see me on this particular platform.
- 1:58:52Speaker 2: Well, watch out because you might see me on nothing.
- 1:58:57Speaker 1: We love you all.
- 1:58:59Speaker 2: You all have a blessed night. And thank you all
- 1:59:02Speaker 2: for challenging me.
- 1:59:04Speaker 1: Thank you. Thank you.
- 1:59:07Speaker 2: Thank you. Thank you, Cheryl.
- 1:59:08Speaker 1: I love you.
- 1:59:09Speaker 2: Thank you, Queen. Cheryl, come on here with me. It's
- 1:59:12Speaker 2: like we just got here. And she just, she just
- 1:59:16Speaker 2: cleaned my nerves. Thank you everybody again. We love you all.
- 1:59:18Speaker 2: We're still standing.
- 1:59:20Speaker 1: Still rising.
- 1:59:21Speaker 2: Still giving God a praise. Learning our stories. Walking through
- 1:59:27Speaker 2: brighter days.
- 1:59:28Speaker 1: Heart and soul.
- 1:59:30Speaker 5: We let the truth come true. Diplomatic life.
- 1:59:45Speaker 2: Hear the music.
- 1:59:46Speaker 1: Hear the music. Yes. Oh, that's it.
- 1:59:51Speaker 2: That's it. Yes.
- 2:00:00Speaker 1: Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. You all have a
- 2:00:04Speaker 1: beautiful night.
- 2:00:05Speaker 2: Thank you, mommy, for coming on. Thank you, my sister's family.
- 2:00:09Speaker 2: A lot of my family's out here. Thank you.
- 2:00:10Speaker 1: Thank you. Thank you, everybody. Thank you.
- 2:00:15Speaker 2: Alright, you have a good night. You too.
