  Speaker 1: your ear? Who's in your ear? Proverbs thirteen twenty. The

  Speaker 1: message translation says, become wise by walking with the wise,

  Speaker 1: hang out with fools, and watch your life fall to pieces.

  Speaker 1: We all have people who are influencing us, people who

  Speaker 1: are in our ear. These people could be celebrities that
• 0:36
  Speaker 1: we follow or admire. It could be a friend, It
• 0:40
  Speaker 1: could be a family member. It could be a co
• 0:42
  Speaker 1: worker or even a leader. We're listening to their counsel.

  Speaker 1: We're following their suggestion, patterning our lives after them, trusting
• 0:52
  Speaker 1: what they say. The question is are they the right people?

  Speaker 1: You shouldn't take advice from everyone or be swayed by
• 1:04
  Speaker 1: every opinion. You need to look at their track record.

  Speaker 1: Have they made good decisions? Do they honor God? Do

  Speaker 1: they have your best interest at heart? You have to

  Speaker 1: be careful who's in your ear. If you have wrong voices,

  Speaker 1: you're gonna make wrong choices. If you hang around friends

  Speaker 1: who compromise or co workers who gossip. Their example, their advice,

  Speaker 1: and how they're influencing you will keep you from your potential,

  Speaker 1: so be selective. Some people will tell you how to

  Speaker 1: run your life, but they can't even run their own lives.

  Speaker 1: They're giving you relationship advice, but they've been through six

  Speaker 1: break up, seven divoices and working on their ash. They'll

  Speaker 1: tell you how to investor and spend your money, but

  Speaker 1: they can't pay their own bill. Before you take that advice,

  Speaker 1: consider the source. Are they a person of integrity and excellence?

  Speaker 1: So watch who you give access to your ear? Oh Father, God,

  Speaker 1: thank you. Thank you for the people in our lives

  Speaker 1: who inspire us, who challenge us, and who make us better.

  Speaker 1: Help us God to be wise about who we listen to,

  Speaker 1: and the counsel and opinions that we receive. Help us

  Speaker 1: to distance ourselves from anyone whose influence will keep us

  Speaker 1: from our potential. God, we want to walk with the

  Speaker 1: right people and be led by you in everything we do.
