- 0:56Speaker 4: but it's great. It's just people that I so, just
- 1:01Speaker 4: a different group of people. And then I was like, OK,
- 1:03Speaker 4: was like, sorry, do you run a business? Sorry? You
- 1:05Speaker 4: got a business? Even any business ideas instincts for business?
- 1:10Speaker 6: But I was I run a media business that I followed.
- 1:12Speaker 6: That's not where's the office? Where's your where is it?
- 1:15Speaker 4: Exactly? And you were a band.
- 1:18Speaker 5: From that Sole Trader party I could go to.
- 1:22Speaker 4: Can I get to that? No, I'm a sole trader too.
- 1:26Speaker 1: Was that set deal set there?
- 1:28Speaker 4: But what I did first was I went out to
- 1:30Speaker 4: a local Japanese because after I had Japanese the other
- 1:33Speaker 4: night ingle bit, I wanted some more, man, I hadn't
- 1:37Speaker 4: had enough. So when I had another beer, one beer
- 1:39Speaker 4: and another thing of hot saki.
- 1:41Speaker 5: Yeah, ship, it's good man, you go to Japan.
- 1:44Speaker 4: Nah, I don't know about that.
- 1:45Speaker 1: I can't do the saki. I just can't do it.
- 1:47Speaker 2: No, well, you don't do it well exactly. But even
- 1:50Speaker 2: when I did do it, I couldn't do it. Yeah,
- 1:52Speaker 2: I know it was like absolutely delicious, well over twenty
- 1:57Speaker 2: years ago, to be honest.
- 2:00Speaker 4: On the bright side, my my throat issue says, I've
- 2:03Speaker 4: gone away. I've smoked my way through it.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Oh you smoked? Yeah?
- 2:07Speaker 4: Oh so my body telling me I need to give
- 2:11Speaker 4: up smoking. And he has a really bad throat so
- 2:13Speaker 4: that you can stop smoking, because why would you smoke
- 2:15Speaker 4: with a bead throat like this? I smoked through that, yeah,
- 2:18Speaker 4: and I'm out the other side. Yea. When your body.
- 2:20Speaker 1: Loons, doesn't well yeah, so.
- 2:23Speaker 5: It's like beating it into submission.
- 2:24Speaker 3: Right.
- 2:25Speaker 4: So when I'm lying in my bed ten years from there,
- 2:29Speaker 4: my worst game.
- 2:33Speaker 1: Your oxygen on the side, what it will be?
- 2:35Speaker 5: Yes, yeah, yeah, worth it for the business dinner.
- 2:38Speaker 4: Oh it was good, it was good.
- 2:40Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Well, interestingly, in terms of going to when to go
- 2:43Speaker 2: to bed, my wife on was it Friday night, said
- 2:49Speaker 2: maybe we're going to bed too early.
- 2:51Speaker 4: I went to bed really really.
- 2:52Speaker 1: Because we're you know, because we're you keep waking up earlier. Yeah,
- 2:55Speaker 1: it's like.
- 2:55Speaker 2: Our sleep is terrible at the moment both of us
- 2:59Speaker 2: and we were like, well, let's stay up from now on,
- 3:01Speaker 2: We're going to stay up later every night.
- 3:03Speaker 3: So what's too early?
- 3:05Speaker 2: Well, we've been going to bed. We go to bed
- 3:07Speaker 2: to ont a nine thirty court to ten.
- 3:09Speaker 5: Okay, so ten thirty.
- 3:11Speaker 1: So ten thirty court to eleven is the new time?
- 3:13Speaker 4: How to go?
- 3:14Speaker 1: Pretty good? There, you go pretty good.
- 3:16Speaker 2: Well, I still wake up early, but it's not two
- 3:19Speaker 2: in the morning, you know what I mean.
- 3:22Speaker 1: Three, it's four in the morning as a part, you
- 3:25Speaker 1: know what I mean.
- 3:25Speaker 2: So it's because I've we've worked out that we've got
- 3:28Speaker 2: an iNFiNiT you know, a certain amount a window of
- 3:32Speaker 2: time for six six hours, yeah, about six about six
- 3:35Speaker 2: or seven.
- 3:35Speaker 5: If you started going a bit at midnight.
- 3:38Speaker 1: I would wake up at yeah six seven.
- 3:41Speaker 6: The Archy Big Show week days from four on Radio
- 3:44Speaker 6: Hurarchy with the ha Warchy Big Show Podcast.
- 3:48Speaker 1: But then on that first night we wake up at.
- 3:50Speaker 4: Eight whoa at eight am am am a am.
- 3:57Speaker 5: Wow, that's amazing.
- 3:58Speaker 1: Yeah, it's very good.
- 3:59Speaker 4: It's a huge bastard.
- 4:02Speaker 2: And I tell you what also made a huge difference
- 4:03Speaker 2: for me, the old gaviscon Well, I haven't been on
- 4:08Speaker 2: it for months, rather than I had a scull of
- 4:10Speaker 2: that and the old burning stops.
- 4:13Speaker 4: Get yourself off to the doctor. Men. You shouldn't be
- 4:15Speaker 4: having this much burning. Yeah, for the amount of food,
- 4:18Speaker 4: although all you eat is hot pot Asian food and
- 4:23Speaker 4: eating that because it's not right. And when I was
- 4:25Speaker 4: having it, and I was give us gone up to
- 4:27Speaker 4: the eyeballs. It's not enjoyable.
- 4:30Speaker 2: No, it's painful at times. What it is when you're
- 4:32Speaker 2: sleeping and it wakes you up, Yeah, and you're like
- 4:35Speaker 2: bern yeah, burning exactly.
- 4:38Speaker 4: And I had like a Liita Alita bottle of gaveiscon
- 4:41Speaker 4: on my bedside table and I just wake up and
- 4:43Speaker 4: take it slugging. It tastes like a slug too, does
- 4:49Speaker 4: and it's got the white stuff that dribbles down the
- 4:52Speaker 4: side of and tends into a crust down the side
- 4:54Speaker 4: of it. Yeah, it's grim.
- 4:55Speaker 5: That's so good.
- 4:56Speaker 1: How was your weekend, Kizy.
- 4:58Speaker 4: You seem like you're filthy.
- 5:00Speaker 2: Uh, my weekend was because you were looking for houses.
- 5:04Speaker 5: Yeah. We we just went how open homing it was? Okay,
- 5:08Speaker 5: I haven't.
- 5:09Speaker 1: Seen anything that went again there she is no we saw.
- 5:13Speaker 5: We saw when I was pretty good, but then we
- 5:14Speaker 5: were like, oh, it's too small.
- 5:15Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:16Speaker 4: Basically I would have to she whorn yourself into liking it.
- 5:19Speaker 6: No, so and I would have had to get rid
- 5:22Speaker 6: of my motorbike and beer even fit my little trucky
- 5:26Speaker 6: in the shed there, and then there'd be no room
- 5:27Speaker 6: to put any of my tools and in it. I was
- 5:29Speaker 6: just like, we're just we're trying to make this house
- 5:31Speaker 6: working stuff for work.
- 5:34Speaker 2: It's interesting, isn't it when you're trying to do that.
- 5:36Speaker 2: And then we went to finding reasons to make it work,
- 5:39Speaker 2: and then you're like, actually, what are we doing?
- 5:41Speaker 6: Yes, And then we went to another house, which is
- 5:43Speaker 6: the kind of house I would have loved if I
- 5:45Speaker 6: was like five years younger.
- 5:47Speaker 5: Massive.
- 5:48Speaker 6: We'rest Auckland where the bottom is all garage. It's all
- 5:51Speaker 6: just be and it's a brick house. The top is
- 5:54Speaker 6: all the bedrooms and the lounger stuff looking out, and
- 5:56Speaker 6: the bottom is like two big garage doors. And the
- 5:59Speaker 6: whole was emptied out and so you could park like
- 6:02Speaker 6: ten cars under there, right, But the whole thing was
- 6:04Speaker 6: in its original decoor from the sixties, and Nan and
- 6:08Speaker 6: Pop had certainly let it go, right.
- 6:10Speaker 5: And so I walked in there.
- 6:11Speaker 6: I was just say, oh my god, this would takes
- 6:12Speaker 6: so much fucking work. That's just too I can't be
- 6:14Speaker 6: fucked with it too much.
- 6:16Speaker 2: Guys and smoke it, you know, and they probably smoked
- 6:18Speaker 2: like a daries And the joint.
- 6:21Speaker 3: I was like yellow roofs.
- 6:22Speaker 5: I was like those.
- 6:23Speaker 6: Ceiling tiles asbestos. I was like that lining there asbestos.
- 6:26Speaker 5: It was just a fucking shambles. It would have been fun, though.
- 6:29Speaker 2: When I was lying in bed this morning with my
- 6:33Speaker 2: wife slugging you gave us God, No, no, I only
- 6:36Speaker 2: have a once at night, just before I go to bed.
- 6:39Speaker 1: Every time, not every night.
- 6:40Speaker 4: Do you brush your teeth after that?
- 6:42Speaker 3: Yes, hot pot night.
- 6:44Speaker 4: Yes?
- 6:45Speaker 2: And I said to my wife because I was you know,
- 6:48Speaker 2: as you do when you wake up in the morning,
- 6:49Speaker 2: your brain turns on and you're pondering life. And I
- 6:53Speaker 2: said to my wife, so are we done with our
- 6:57Speaker 2: old house? And she was like, what do you mean?
- 7:00Speaker 2: I said, so, are we never going back? And she
- 7:03Speaker 2: said no, yeah, great, no we're not. I don't think
- 7:07Speaker 2: an realization. Oh okay, yeah o G. I just wanted
- 7:14Speaker 2: to know, you know what I mean, because it was
- 7:16Speaker 2: floating in my head and I was going, oh, I
- 7:18Speaker 2: wonder and if we did go back, would that feel
- 7:20Speaker 2: like a defeat?
- 7:21Speaker 3: I think it would a backward step.
- 7:23Speaker 4: Well, you love where you are, what would you consider
- 7:24Speaker 4: go well.
- 7:25Speaker 2: Yeah, but you know that's it's a ring tool and
- 7:28Speaker 2: it all changes. Might be changed by the end of
- 7:30Speaker 2: the year. Yeah, yeah, I think so.
- 7:34Speaker 5: And so do you Can you sell your old house?
- 7:37Speaker 1: No, not at this point, just keep it.
- 7:39Speaker 5: May as well. Yes, Oh that's exciting for you though,
- 7:41Speaker 5: but I also.
- 7:42Speaker 1: Felt kind of sad.
- 7:43Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 7:44Speaker 1: I was like, noah, okay, that's we're not done.
- 7:47Speaker 5: Back in an era yeah.
- 7:51Speaker 4: Time.
- 7:51Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, excited deffinitely.
- 7:53Speaker 4: But yeah.
- 7:54Speaker 6: My wife's the same with our current house. She's like,
- 7:56Speaker 6: it's so nice, and you've because I did all the renovations. Basically,
- 7:59Speaker 6: she's like, you've done so much work.
- 8:00Speaker 5: Are you sad? And I was like, yeah, I'm sad.
- 8:03Speaker 6: And then I go and see your house that we
- 8:04Speaker 6: could have that's got an en suite and a double garage.
- 8:06Speaker 1: And you don't fuck.
- 8:10Speaker 5: You could have it. Yeah, it is amazing.
- 8:12Speaker 6: Once you've got that thing, you know what you're heading towards,
- 8:15Speaker 6: then it changes your mindset totally.
- 8:17Speaker 4: But we don't know that it's doing that thing that
- 8:19Speaker 4: allows you to move on to the next thing. You're
- 8:21Speaker 4: grateful for it, but you can't live there forever.
- 8:23Speaker 6: But the interesting thing about the way my brain works
- 8:25Speaker 6: and my wife turn found out is we don't like
- 8:27Speaker 6: knowing what we're going to not I want to know
- 8:29Speaker 6: where we're going, sure, and so my brain struggles with it,
- 8:32Speaker 6: and yes hers does as well. And so at the
- 8:34Speaker 6: moment we are selling our house and are gonna rent
- 8:39Speaker 6: maybe if we can't find a house in time. I
- 8:41Speaker 6: don't know what the house looks like, don't know if
- 8:42Speaker 6: I'm renting or owning. It's it's really reaking havoc on
- 8:45Speaker 6: the old right, right, Yeah, go through waves of being
- 8:50Speaker 6: uncertain and confident and uncertainly.
- 8:51Speaker 5: Yeah, it's very interesting.
- 8:53Speaker 2: I think that I think that's a natural phenomenon of
- 8:56Speaker 2: moving on because we were, you know, looking, when we
- 8:58Speaker 2: were looking to rent, like what.
- 9:00Speaker 4: Are we doing?
- 9:01Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, you know what then we're doing and
- 9:03Speaker 2: then you do it and you go, why didn't we
- 9:04Speaker 2: do that before?
- 9:05Speaker 6: And we could peel pens stay there, and then we'd
- 9:08Speaker 6: have very very short term happiness, very short term Okay,
- 9:10Speaker 6: thank god, all that's over, but then immediate regret.
- 9:13Speaker 4: I think, yes, yes, you'll find something to me and
- 9:19Speaker 4: you reckon man, I mean, worst case scenario, Jason's old house.
- 9:24Speaker 4: You know that that would be well, that would be
- 9:27Speaker 4: worst case.
- 9:28Speaker 1: Worst case. I mean it would be a step up
- 9:32Speaker 1: for you for sure, but I.
- 9:34Speaker 5: Mean your old house. YEA doubt it. I'd go to
- 9:37Speaker 5: step up and then I'd fall through through.
- 9:41Speaker 4: Yeah, totally.
- 9:43Speaker 3: Oh life, Life, This is a big show, four
- 9:54Speaker 6: To seven week days, Radio heard good listening
