- 0:06SPEAKER_01: What is going on, ballers?
- 0:08SPEAKER_01: It's your boy MJ coming at you with another episode of The Fantasy Fumble.
- 0:13SPEAKER_01: I'm here with my co-host Joe the Birdman.
- 0:16SPEAKER_01: Joe, how the hell are you doing today, brother?
- 0:19SPEAKER_00: Doing great, manny.
- 0:20SPEAKER_00: I luckily avoided most of the injuries that we that racked up again in week three.
- 0:26SPEAKER_00: You know, it feels like week one, two, and three, you don't think it can get worse, and then it gets worse.
- 0:31SPEAKER_01: So oh yeah, I totally hear that.
- 0:34SPEAKER_01: I'll go into more details for that personally as well.
- 0:37SPEAKER_01: Uh, but uh before we get into that, Joe, you want to give these guys an update on how you're doing so far for the fantasy leagues?
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'm doing pretty well.
- 0:47SPEAKER_00: I'm I went three and three last week.
- 0:49SPEAKER_00: It's it's tough, man.
- 0:51SPEAKER_00: I I had a lot of high scores, but just played a team that was at the highest level.
- 0:57SPEAKER_00: So I played uh played a couple teams that basically in two leagues, if I would have played anyone else, I would have won.
- 1:05SPEAKER_00: And then in in one of your leagues, I can't remember if it was contenders or champions, that touchdown by Khalif Raymond knocked me out.
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: So that was a tough, tough uh loss to Dion.
- 1:17SPEAKER_00: I think it was Dion.
- 1:18SPEAKER_00: It was Dion or Maddie.
- 1:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's that was a crazy one.
- 1:21SPEAKER_01: Like, you know, that that definitely didn't see that come in for Chicago.
- 1:25SPEAKER_00: No, man, he looks like the best receiver on the team.
- 1:28SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's it's it's crazy.
- 1:30SPEAKER_01: It's because he's the most experienced in that system, right?
- 1:32SPEAKER_01: That's true.
- 1:33SPEAKER_01: Ben Johnson.
- 1:34SPEAKER_01: But uh for my fantasy leagues, I went two and one.
- 1:37SPEAKER_01: You know, I lost Champions League, which is the most important one.
- 1:40SPEAKER_01: I'll give I'll give the guys more details on exactly what it is that happened.
- 1:44SPEAKER_01: But you know, it's that time of the year, man.
- 1:47SPEAKER_01: Injury apocalypse is upon us, and we're gonna go ahead and get into that next with our news and notes.
- 1:59SPEAKER_00: All right, well, let's just kick things off with running backs.
- 2:03SPEAKER_00: Devon H.
- 2:04SPEAKER_00: H and suffered a season-ending knee injury with a torn ACL.
- 2:10SPEAKER_00: Running back Travis Etienne will miss some time due to a hamstring injury, suffered in week three against the Raiders.
- 2:17SPEAKER_00: And Jets running back Brees Hall is considered week to week after suffering a quad injury.
- 2:23SPEAKER_00: And Steelers running back Rico Dowdle is still not practicing.
- 2:28SPEAKER_01: Although it doesn't look like Steelers missed a beat with Jalen Warren, they actually got more efficient, man.
- 2:34SPEAKER_00: They really did, and I was not expecting that because you know, as we were talking about in the group chat, uh Gendry and I were talking about Jalen Warren and the previous two weeks, the Bengals really shut down the run.
- 2:47SPEAKER_00: So that was surprising to me.
- 2:49unknown: Yeah.
- 2:50SPEAKER_00: Now, wide receiver Huka Nakua and Nico Collins will hopefully play in week four.
- 2:55SPEAKER_00: Right now, that's what they're saying.
- 2:57SPEAKER_00: Who knows?
- 2:58SPEAKER_00: But yeah, I mean, I I've got Puka in two leagues.
- 3:00SPEAKER_00: I'm really hoping he plays.
- 3:02SPEAKER_00: Justin Jefferson is dealing with an ankle injury, but it's believed to be minor, and he has a chance to play in week four as well.
- 3:09SPEAKER_00: Uh, 49ers wide receiver Mike Evans is considered day-to-day with a rib injury.
- 3:14SPEAKER_00: And wide receiver Jalen Coker, also dealing with a quad injury, may not play in week four.
- 3:22SPEAKER_01: Man, and half of those guys you named are on you know some of my teams, you know.
- 3:26SPEAKER_01: So I I've been I've been taking some hits, man.
- 3:29SPEAKER_01: E Chan or A-Chan and A-Chan, right?
- 3:32SPEAKER_01: Both the A-Chan brothers, you know, I got both of them.
- 3:35SPEAKER_01: I got Justin Jefferson in the league, you know.
- 3:38SPEAKER_01: So I've been I've been going through it, man.
- 3:39SPEAKER_01: You know, in the apocalypse.
- 3:41SPEAKER_00: You've got on on one team, I know you have Nico Collins and Travis Etienne.
- 3:47SPEAKER_00: So that's tough.
- 3:48SPEAKER_01: And then the other one, I have Justin Jefferson who's injured, and then I also had A-Chan who had lost for the season.
- 3:54SPEAKER_01: But more on that a little bit later.
- 3:56SPEAKER_01: But before we get into that, it's kind of getting hot in here.
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: Wait, wait, wait.
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: We still got to do quarterbacks.
- 4:03SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah, quarterbacks.
- 4:04SPEAKER_01: Go ahead.
- 4:07SPEAKER_00: Um at quarterback, we've got Jaden Daniels.
- 4:10SPEAKER_00: He's getting surgery at the end of the season, but is planning to return for the 2026 season.
- 4:16SPEAKER_00: He says soon, so we'll see about that.
- 4:18SPEAKER_00: Bucks quarterback Baker Mayfield is expected to be out for a few weeks uh with a dislocated thumb that was like right at the end of the game last week.
- 4:27SPEAKER_00: Um, Bears quarterback Caleb Williams could be out for three to four weeks, and Case Keenum is expected to be the starter again.
- 4:35SPEAKER_00: And the Vikings quarterback JJ McCarthy was traded to the New York Giants.
- 4:40SPEAKER_00: So he's a lot like um Jackson Dart.
- 4:45SPEAKER_00: So that that might be a nice move.
- 4:47SPEAKER_00: We'll see.
- 4:48SPEAKER_00: Um kind of unexpected, but we'll see.
- 4:51SPEAKER_01: He has to take it off Jameis first, man.
- 4:53SPEAKER_01: They're just doing that if Jameis falls through.
- 4:55SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's probably true.
- 4:57SPEAKER_01: But I mean, Jameis hasn't done anything yet, so that that also tells you a lot about how Minnesota feels about Kyler Murray, right?
- 5:03SPEAKER_01: Because they're willing to give up their prospect, you know, star prospect, quarterback, you know, and Murray was only on a one-year deal, which means more than likely they're gonna re-sign him.
- 5:13SPEAKER_01: And, you know, uh, that's gonna be an upward trend for the Vikings second half this season.
- 5:18SPEAKER_00: Yeah, he's been hard to read so far because we haven't, you know, we've only seen like one and a half games from him.
- 5:24SPEAKER_00: And um yeah, last week was kind of weird.
- 5:27SPEAKER_00: It wasn't a great game.
- 5:29SPEAKER_01: No, it wasn't.
- 5:30SPEAKER_00: Uh now just one update for tight ends.
- 5:32SPEAKER_00: Terrence Ferguson from the Rams sprained his ankle and is likely to miss week four against the Eagles.
- 5:38SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 5:39SPEAKER_00: Who cares?
- 5:40SPEAKER_00: I don't know if it's gonna be longer, but yeah, I mean, he was someone a lot of people just pulled off the waiver wire to fill in for Puka.
- 5:46SPEAKER_00: When Puka gets back, it probably won't be an issue either way.
- 5:48SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, you should have picked up Blumpkin, man.
- 5:50SPEAKER_01: That guy went off.
- 5:52SPEAKER_01: He had like a 50-yard touchdown.
- 5:55SPEAKER_01: Uh, I know his name is not Blumpkin, it's Compton or something like that, but it's the week of the random tight ends.
- 6:00SPEAKER_00: Well, I mean, a lot of a lot of stud tight ends played well too, but a lot of random tight ends were uh were producing in week three.
- 6:09SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah.
- 6:15SPEAKER_00: Damn.
- 6:16SPEAKER_00: Now let's get into our hot matchups.
- 6:23SPEAKER_00: Why don't you kick things off for us, Manny?
- 6:25SPEAKER_01: All right, yes, sir.
- 6:26SPEAKER_01: It's a little fuego in here, so I'll keep this, uh, get this a little bit quick out there.
- 6:31SPEAKER_01: Some of this fire.
- 6:32SPEAKER_01: So my hot matchup for the week, it wouldn't be a match hot matchup if it did not include the Detroit Lions, ladies and gentlemen.
- 6:40SPEAKER_01: Uh, I mean, this past Sunday, you know, this upcoming Sunday nights prime time, you know, all the lights, Lions are going to be playing the Panthers.
- 6:48SPEAKER_01: And I know most people going into the season would have probably thought that sounds like a boring game, but honestly, the Panthers have been like one of the most efficient offenses year to date, excluding, of course, last week, right?
- 7:01SPEAKER_01: They had a tough showing.
- 7:03SPEAKER_01: Uh, but let's start off with the the Lions rage.
- 7:06SPEAKER_01: You can't talk about the Lions without talking about Jameer Gibbs.
- 7:09SPEAKER_01: I mean, the guy literally put the team on his back.
- 7:13SPEAKER_01: 99 rushing yards, uh, seven catches for 65 yards and three touchdowns.
- 7:19SPEAKER_01: Like, that's over that's a 40 burger.
- 7:22SPEAKER_01: And if you drafted him first overall, you see why you did.
- 7:25SPEAKER_01: It's because that guy is putting up, he's putting up some ridiculous, ridiculous numbers.
- 7:30SPEAKER_01: Uh, the next thing that I'm looking at over here, Jared Goff.
- 7:33SPEAKER_01: Uh so far year to date, 802 uh passing yards, eight touchdowns, and zero interceptions through three games.
- 7:41SPEAKER_01: I mean, that's the historic, you know, efficiency that we have seen from Jared Goff year in, year out, that people overlook him.
- 7:49SPEAKER_01: And, you know, I'd be happy to tell you that I got him on the waiver wire myself, which most people probably have.
- 7:56SPEAKER_01: Uh, but but last week he was firing it off.
- 7:58SPEAKER_01: He even had a 19-yard passing touchdown to Amon Ra, and Amon Ra in three games already has five uh receiving touchdowns.
- 8:06SPEAKER_01: Only person that has more than him is JSN, which we all know JSN's just lighting the league on fire again this year.
- 8:13SPEAKER_01: Uh, but you know, if you're talking about pass catchers, you can't talk about not talk about Sam Laporta.
- 8:19SPEAKER_01: Uh 14 catches, 144 yards, and a touchdown so far this season.
- 8:24SPEAKER_01: I mean, that doesn't sound like anything too flashy, but a majority of that was actually uh produced in the last game, right?
- 8:32SPEAKER_01: So that that's something that you know most people are not going to really be too shit.
- 8:38SPEAKER_01: Now, of course, that's just talking about the Detroit side of the ball.
- 8:41SPEAKER_01: Now let's talk about Carolina.
- 8:43SPEAKER_01: I mean, uh, Chuba Hubbard, I have him in all my leagues.
- 8:47SPEAKER_01: I've been high on him.
- 8:48SPEAKER_01: He's having a great season so far.
- 8:50SPEAKER_01: Last week he delivered 110 total yards, including an 80, 82 rushing yards and a touchdown.
- 8:56SPEAKER_01: So you're seeing a lot of elite usage for him.
- 8:58SPEAKER_01: I think that he's somebody that most people didn't expect was going to be an RB2 going into the year.
- 9:04SPEAKER_01: But uh, you know, I even consider him an RB2 slash three, so I'm pretty happy with the output he's been putting out.
- 9:10SPEAKER_01: Um, but now that there's no Jonathan Brooks, there's nothing holding him back from a full workload.
- 9:15SPEAKER_01: Um now Tetaroa McMillan, somebody that was disappointed last week in week one, you know, we had this peaks and valleys last year as well with him, right?
- 9:25SPEAKER_01: Like he had some some missed games and then some hit games.
- 9:28SPEAKER_01: He was putting up like top five numbers, right?
- 9:30SPEAKER_01: So the only thing that with Jalen Coker being out that should help, you know, with increasing Tetoroa's uh uh workload, especially due to the fact that the the Detroit Lions couldn't stop a dead body from rolling over the end zone.
- 9:46SPEAKER_01: So I I think that's gonna be really great for Carolina.
- 9:49SPEAKER_01: And then of course, you know, Bryce Young's been on fire.
- 9:52SPEAKER_01: You know, he's been spreading the ball around really well.
- 9:55SPEAKER_01: Uh Carolina is a good team in general.
- 9:58SPEAKER_01: And and if I had to make it my call, obviously Gibbs and Amon Ra lead the party.
- 10:03SPEAKER_01: Goss brings some touchdown upside, and then uh Hubbard and McMillan give Carolina a chance to answer.
- 10:09SPEAKER_01: So Lions versus the the the Panthers.
- 10:12SPEAKER_01: I think the the Lions do take it, but this is gonna be a high scoring affair.
- 10:16SPEAKER_01: Uh right now the spread is like 48, and I'd say this game is gonna be over the 50s or 60s easily.
- 10:23SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think Tet is just uh having a slow start too.
- 10:27SPEAKER_00: I think he's gonna be really, really good as the season goes on.
- 10:31SPEAKER_00: It might be a good time you know to try to pick him up from someone that's one and two or oh and three, and um give him a two for one and get Ted on your team.
- 10:40SPEAKER_00: Now for my hot matchup, I have the Jaguars versus the Bengals.
- 10:47SPEAKER_00: The over-under is 51 and a half points.
- 10:51SPEAKER_00: And if you look at that, you think that's a high over-under for teams with such good defense because the Jags are ranked number one in scoring defense.
- 10:58SPEAKER_00: They're only allowing 12 points per game through the first three weeks.
- 11:02SPEAKER_00: But they played the Browns, the Broncos, and the Patriots.
- 11:05SPEAKER_00: And we know Cincy's offense can't really compare, can't really be compared with those teams.
- 11:10SPEAKER_00: Uh the Jags are also ranked eighth against the run, which is notable, but they are near the bottom of the league against the pass, ranking 24th.
- 11:19SPEAKER_00: And then on the other side, the Bengals defense is actually ranked ninth against the run.
- 11:24SPEAKER_00: So you've got two teams in the top 10 against the run.
- 11:27SPEAKER_00: And as we mentioned earlier, Jalen Warren tore them up for 127 rush yards last week.
- 11:33SPEAKER_00: But that was uncommon.
- 11:35SPEAKER_00: They do have good strong run defense.
- 11:38SPEAKER_00: Um, but they are ranked near the bottom against the pass at 28th.
- 11:42SPEAKER_00: So you have two teams that are good against the run, two teams that are not good against the pass.
- 11:47SPEAKER_00: So if we have two top 10 defenses against the run, it would be safe to assume that both teams will be more focused on the pass, which is great for fantasy, uh, especially when the offense for both teams looks really good.
- 12:00SPEAKER_00: And Trevor Lawrence has been great two out of three weeks this season, and he's a lineup lock for me.
- 12:05SPEAKER_00: I have him in a few leagues, and Parker Washington is a lineup lock despite having a down week last week.
- 12:12SPEAKER_00: Bashall Tutin got bailed out by Trevor Lawrence uh when he like kneeled in front of the end zone, and that salvaged his fantasy day.
- 12:18SPEAKER_00: But in my opinion, he's still a strong flex or even a running back two.
- 12:23SPEAKER_00: And Jacoby Myers, he could be a flex, but it's a little risky.
- 12:27SPEAKER_00: So use your judgment there.
- 12:29SPEAKER_00: But then on the other side of the field, you got Joe Burrow.
- 12:32SPEAKER_00: He's a lineup lock.
- 12:33SPEAKER_00: I have him in a few leagues as well, and then of course, Jamar Chase, T.
- 12:36SPEAKER_00: Higgins, Chase Brown, Lock, Lock, Lock.
- 12:39SPEAKER_00: I know Chase Brown hasn't been at the level we expected, but they played Houston and Pittsburgh over the last two weeks.
- 12:45SPEAKER_00: And his floor was still double digits.
- 12:48SPEAKER_00: So I wouldn't overthink the matchup and the defense too much.
- 12:52SPEAKER_00: This game could easily turn into a shootout, and I think there's still gonna be plenty of reps for the running backs, too.
- 12:57SPEAKER_00: So yeah, they have a good strong run defense, but they have a piss.
- 13:01SPEAKER_00: I'm talking about both teams piss poor pass defense, strong run defense.
- 13:05SPEAKER_00: They're gonna air it out, it's gonna turn into a shootout.
- 13:07SPEAKER_00: The running backs are still gonna be involved one way or another.
- 13:11SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah, I could see that.
- 13:12SPEAKER_01: Uh Jags and Cincy, right?
- 13:15SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 13:15SPEAKER_01: Um, I mean, two high scoring offenses, man, they're gonna trade shots, and I'm excited to see it because both teams are are freaking best in their divisions, I think, and as far as uh offensive goes as well, with much improved defenses.
- 13:30SPEAKER_01: Let's get into the cold call week.
- 13:34SPEAKER_01: Oh god, it's freezing.
- 13:38SPEAKER_00: For my cold call, I have the Dolphins versus the Vikings.
- 13:43SPEAKER_00: It's kind of funny.
- 13:44SPEAKER_00: Like we've you and I have gone back and forth with I've had the Vikings in a hot matchup, and I've had the Vikings now in a cold call.
- 13:53SPEAKER_00: I've also had the Bills in a hot matchup and also in a cold call.
- 13:56SPEAKER_00: It's just funny, it is all about the matchups.
- 13:59SPEAKER_00: Um, but yeah, that's my cold call.
- 14:00SPEAKER_00: I was tempted to go with the Steelers and the Browns again, which I've done in the past, uh, because most of those games turn out to be defensive battles, but I had to go with the Dolphins and the Vikings this week.
- 14:11SPEAKER_00: And there's a few different reasons why.
- 14:13SPEAKER_00: Uh the Vikings are ranked near the bottom in every offensive category over the first three weeks.
- 14:18SPEAKER_00: For total yards per game and passing yards per game, they are dead last.
- 14:23SPEAKER_00: They had to adjust, obviously, after dealing with injuries to Jordan Mason and Kyler Murray.
- 14:27SPEAKER_00: And now Justin Jefferson could be out this week, and he's clearly the best player on the team.
- 14:32SPEAKER_00: If he's playing, you start him.
- 14:34SPEAKER_00: No questions.
- 14:35SPEAKER_00: But what's funny is despite those poor statistics on offense, they're three and oh because of their defense.
- 14:42SPEAKER_00: So that means even bigger problems for the Miami Dolphins, who are also ranked near the bottom in every offensive category.
- 14:50SPEAKER_00: In total points per game, they are dead last.
- 14:53SPEAKER_00: Their wide receivers are mostly rookies still getting accustomed to the NFL.
- 14:57SPEAKER_00: And now Devon Achan is out for the season.
- 15:00SPEAKER_00: So we have two teams with shit offense riddled with injuries, and one of those teams has the best defense in the league.
- 15:07SPEAKER_00: So it's just a recipe for failure and fantasy.
- 15:10SPEAKER_00: Unless you you know play the Vikings defense, that would be a good start this week.
- 15:14SPEAKER_00: And again, Justin Jefferson, if he's playing, you obviously start him, but just lower your expectations because he could be limited.
- 15:21SPEAKER_00: And if he's out, I think Jordan Addison is a good play.
- 15:24SPEAKER_00: And I would start Aaron Jones because he's getting all the work with Jordan Mason sidelined.
- 15:29SPEAKER_00: Um, but I'm not starting anyone on Miami.
- 15:31SPEAKER_00: And altogether, I'm just not expecting much offense from either team on Sunday.
- 15:38SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 15:39SPEAKER_01: No, I can definitely see that.
- 15:40SPEAKER_01: That's gonna be uh it's gonna be an ugly game, really ugly game.
- 15:44SPEAKER_01: I'm definitely not gonna watch.
- 15:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah, me either.
- 15:48SPEAKER_01: Now for my cold call of the week, you know, it's funny because this game is is based out of Florida, but it has me reaching for my jacket.
- 15:58SPEAKER_01: It's gonna be the uh Green Bay Packers versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
- 16:03SPEAKER_01: Man, let's start with Green Bay against Atlanta.
- 16:07SPEAKER_01: Uh they managed 17 rushing yards on nine carries.
- 16:10SPEAKER_01: That's 1.9 yards per carry.
- 16:13SPEAKER_01: Um Love had to throw 53 times, which is unrealistic.
- 16:16SPEAKER_01: He's not that kind of quarterback, right?
- 16:18SPEAKER_01: And even throwing 53 times, they still only scored 14 points.
- 16:24SPEAKER_01: Uh that's a whole lot of work for very minimal payoff.
- 16:28SPEAKER_01: Um now the struggling ground game meets uh Tampa Bay defense that's ranked second and rushing yards allowed per game, and also second and second in yards allowed per carry.
- 16:39SPEAKER_01: So, you know, basically you need to see some life out of Green Bay on the backfield before trusting any of them in your lineup.
- 16:45SPEAKER_01: And to be totally honest, with Bucks mashing up with them, I don't think it's gonna work out at all for the Green Bay side.
- 16:51SPEAKER_01: They're just gonna have to pass, pass, pass.
- 16:53SPEAKER_01: Now, Tampa Bay offense is struggling with Baker.
- 16:57SPEAKER_01: Uh now he's expected to miss several weeks with that thumb injury.
- 17:01SPEAKER_01: So I know undrafted rookie Jalen Daniels, I have some Bucks fans in my ears telling me that he's the truth.
- 17:07SPEAKER_01: He has this amazing tape and all this.
- 17:09SPEAKER_01: I'm like, guys, it was the fucking preseason.
- 17:13SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 17:13SPEAKER_01: That's that's practice time.
- 17:15SPEAKER_01: This is game time.
- 17:16SPEAKER_01: You're not playing against bench guys anymore as you're playing against starters.
- 17:20SPEAKER_01: And most of the time, when you're playing a tough matchup, which I don't think Green Bay is that tough of a matchup when it comes to you know defensive, but I just think, you know, overall, it's not going to be a uh a friendly start for him.
- 17:33SPEAKER_01: Let's just say that.
- 17:34SPEAKER_01: But that's just a big assignment for a young quarterback to complete, you know?
- 17:38SPEAKER_01: And then the Bucs just produced 243 net yards and 16 points against Minnesota, which we mentioned was a top defense.
- 17:46SPEAKER_01: Uh, but you know, no one was getting fantasy bonuses that way.
- 17:51SPEAKER_01: So at the end of the day, you're gonna start Emeko Obuka, right?
- 17:55SPEAKER_01: He's gonna give you the respectable floor ceiling, right?
- 17:58SPEAKER_01: Which is like 10, 15 points.
- 18:00SPEAKER_01: You know, you're gonna start Bucky Irving, same thing.
- 18:03SPEAKER_01: You know, you're gonna get your 10 or 15 points.
- 18:04SPEAKER_01: And on the other side, you know, you might even get a little bit more from Christian Watson, but I am not starting a single other person outside of that.
- 18:12SPEAKER_01: That includes Tucker Kraft, that includes Kate Otton, that includes, you know, anybody else except for those four guys.
- 18:19SPEAKER_01: That's it.
- 18:21SPEAKER_00: So yeah, I I I had uh just today, I work with a Bucks fan, and he was telling me all about Jalen Daniels, and I don't really know much about him, but you know, he was saying you just wait and see, you know, he's the real deal.
- 18:34SPEAKER_00: Uh, but I agree, this is this is a big test, it's a whole new world.
- 18:39SPEAKER_00: We do have to wait and see something before we can start making comments like that.
- 18:44SPEAKER_00: And this is uh, I mean, the Green Bay Packers defense, um they're not they're not bad.
- 18:49SPEAKER_00: I mean, that's probably a good play this week as well.
- 18:51SPEAKER_00: If you want to grab them off the waivers and plug them in, I think that would be a smart move, but mostly because you've just got a brand new quarterback stepping into the you know, stepping into the NFL.
- 19:03SPEAKER_00: It's just yeah, like you said, this isn't preseason.
- 19:06SPEAKER_00: And I'm I'm thinking Bucky's a really strong start because he's probably gonna get a lot of work, just being that they're gonna probably lean on him.
- 19:16SPEAKER_00: Uh Buka, that's a tough one.
- 19:19SPEAKER_00: I would start him, uh yeah, I would lower my expectations.
- 19:24SPEAKER_00: And then uh, of course, Christian Watson.
- 19:26SPEAKER_00: I like that a lot.
- 19:27SPEAKER_00: But dude, Chuck Tuckercraft was a disappointment.
- 19:30SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and if you haven't already, just drop any running back from Green Bay, except for Jacobs.
- 19:36SPEAKER_01: Maybe he comes back, who knows?
- 19:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I mean, yeah, maybe hold on to him, but anyone that's active now.
- 19:43SPEAKER_00: No.
- 19:56SPEAKER_00: Let's get into our shit calls.
- 19:58SPEAKER_01: Oh, it is a shit call of the week.
- 20:01SPEAKER_01: All right, I'll lead us off here because I've been dying to talk about this here.
- 20:05SPEAKER_01: So, my shit call of the week was drafting a Miami Dolphins player.
- 20:11SPEAKER_01: Going into the season, I knew the Dolphins were gonna be bad.
- 20:14SPEAKER_01: They released everybody, took$100 million or more in dead cap against the Books.
- 20:19SPEAKER_01: I mean, they just released everybody and their mother and their mother's mother, right?
- 20:23SPEAKER_01: Like it was just a whole refresh.
- 20:26SPEAKER_01: And uh despite all that uncertainty last year, you know, which was a different year, of course.
- 20:31SPEAKER_01: You know, Devin A-Chan over the last few years was still a really highly efficient running back.
- 20:36SPEAKER_01: And so I figured, hey, you know what, this year, maybe it's different, right?
- 20:41SPEAKER_01: Rum.
- 20:42SPEAKER_01: I ended up drafting A-chan with my first pick and then Justin Jefferson with my second pick because I was the last pick overall.
- 20:49SPEAKER_01: And let me tell you, man, I am seriously hurting right now because I just lost my first pick for the season.
- 20:56SPEAKER_01: Luckily, I'm 0-3, right?
- 20:58SPEAKER_01: I'm saying those words are leaving my mouth.
- 21:00SPEAKER_01: I'm 0-3 in the Champions League, which means I have first waiver priority.
- 21:05SPEAKER_01: And the only reason why that works my benefits because I get to kind of replace some of that value I'm losing for him.
- 21:12SPEAKER_01: I'll never get the first round value, but if I could get a flex player out of it, hell, it'll be better than what I was getting from him to begin with.
- 21:20SPEAKER_01: So my my my biggest experience there, biggest learned lesson is when you know a team's gonna be shit, do not grab anybody from that offense.
- 21:30SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's the same reason we're rule of thumb.
- 21:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's the same reason we were saying stay away from Quinshawn Junkins, you know.
- 21:37SPEAKER_00: And I mean, Cleveland has actually looked better than expected, but it's not their run game.
- 21:42SPEAKER_01: You know, yeah, junkins been ass.
- 21:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah, he's not doing anything.
- 21:46SPEAKER_00: And we said it was gonna be tough for them to get to the end zone.
- 21:49SPEAKER_00: That's why I didn't have HNSI.
- 21:51SPEAKER_00: It's just because how often are they gonna get to the red zone?
- 21:54SPEAKER_01: You know, and I used to consider him injury prone until this last season, he had a better season.
- 21:59SPEAKER_01: I was like, okay, he finally got over that.
- 22:01SPEAKER_01: And then the I drinks myself, man, freaking ACL tear.
- 22:05SPEAKER_01: But you know, live and learn, man.
- 22:07SPEAKER_01: It's fantasy, you live and die by the sword.
- 22:09SPEAKER_01: So right now I'm literally impaled with it.
- 22:14SPEAKER_00: Plenty of time, plenty of time.
- 22:17SPEAKER_00: Now, my shit call is I got impatient and I dropped Wandale Robinson in one league.
- 22:24SPEAKER_00: And I wouldn't have played him last week either way, but he did have a great day.
- 22:28SPEAKER_00: He had 11 targets, seven catches for 57 yards and a touchdown.
- 22:32SPEAKER_00: And what's the main reason anyone grabs Wandale?
- 22:35SPEAKER_00: It's those targets.
- 22:36SPEAKER_00: And I didn't see him come in the first couple weeks.
- 22:39SPEAKER_00: I thought maybe it's just that he's on a new team, despite us seeing this in past years.
- 22:44SPEAKER_00: Maybe they're not going to feed him like they used to.
- 22:46SPEAKER_00: Uh, but that proved not to be the case, even in a bad weather game.
- 22:50SPEAKER_00: He had 11 targets, so that's great to see.
- 22:52SPEAKER_00: I wish I would have held on to him.
- 22:54SPEAKER_00: And as we said after week one and two, uh, you know, be patient, don't overreact.
- 22:59SPEAKER_00: And then I go and overreact.
- 23:01SPEAKER_00: And I think I like, I don't know, I picked up like Malachi Fields or someone, someone that wasn't worth a pickup.
- 23:07SPEAKER_00: You know, I mean, maybe he's a stash.
- 23:09SPEAKER_01: That that's debatable, but he was a pickup before Dart went down, man.
- 23:14SPEAKER_01: Once Dart went down, that whole value just got shot up, you know, because no quarterback anymore.
- 23:20SPEAKER_00: Yeah, maybe I picked him up in Dart.
- 23:22SPEAKER_00: I can't even remember if Dart was still active or not.
- 23:24SPEAKER_01: You definitely had a pre-dart injury, okay for sure.
- 23:27SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 23:28SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 23:29SPEAKER_00: Well, makes me feel a little bit better about it then.
- 23:35SPEAKER_01: Well, ballers, it's that time you hate.
- 23:38SPEAKER_01: I know, I know, I know, I know.
- 23:40SPEAKER_01: It's the end, end of the episode.
- 23:42SPEAKER_01: I know you guys have been waiting all week for it, so I apologize that we only give you 30 minutes of fun.
- 23:48SPEAKER_01: But if you guys keep supporting us, sharing us, and you know, subscribing, we're gonna be able to actually come to the point where we can work this full time, right?
- 23:57SPEAKER_01: We're putting a lot of hours in.
- 23:59SPEAKER_01: Joe has a full-time job, you know, full-time dad, same as me.
- 24:02SPEAKER_01: You know, this is the dream.
- 24:04SPEAKER_01: So if you guys like what you are hearing, you like what we're saying, or if you want us to add something else to the show, uh, please reach out.
- 24:11SPEAKER_01: We love hearing the feedback.
- 24:13SPEAKER_01: We appreciate the love.
- 24:14SPEAKER_01: Joe, you got anything for these guys here?
- 24:17SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we we try to keep these episodes around 30 minutes.
- 24:20SPEAKER_00: We feel like that's a good round number, but um, we're always willing to add more if you want to hear more.
- 24:25SPEAKER_00: And you know, in the next week or two, we're probably gonna add trade targets like we did last year.
- 24:30SPEAKER_00: So it might be more like 35 minutes once we add trade targets.
- 24:34SPEAKER_00: But yeah, we like to keep it uh concise to the point, focus on the focus on the things that we discuss most.
- 24:41SPEAKER_00: That's why we got hot and cold matchups.
- 24:43SPEAKER_00: But again, anything else you want us to talk about?
- 24:46SPEAKER_00: Be happy to do so.
- 24:47SPEAKER_00: We appreciate the support.
- 24:49SPEAKER_01: Yes, sir.
- 24:50SPEAKER_01: And we'll see you here next week at the same time, same place.
- 24:53SPEAKER_01: You know where to find us.
- 24:54SPEAKER_01: Bring your mother, bring your sister.
- 24:57SPEAKER_01: Just kidding.
- 24:58SPEAKER_01: I'm not single.
- 24:59SPEAKER_01: But uh, we appreciate the love, guys.
- 25:01SPEAKER_01: You guys have a great rest of your night, and we'll see you here again next week, guys.
- 25:04SPEAKER_01: Good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good luck, and God bless.
- 25:09SPEAKER_01: Have a good rest of your night.
