Oh yes, so France, where do I start?

We started actually in Paris, spent three days there and then

took the high speed train out to Lyon, drifted down the Rhone

River for about a week and ended up in X and Provence, which is

southern France. A bunch of us went, about eight

of us, 6 hardcore Spider fans and then, you know, 2 VCU fans.

But anyway, we won't mention that out loud, although they did

promise they'd give us a listen. So that's good.

But it's great. Trip was absolutely fantastic.

I mean, France was it, it showed up, it represented, it was

everything I hoped it would be. That's great.

And you've been back for a couple days.

You feel like you're back on East Coast time.

Yeah, it's a long trip back. We flew from Marseille to

Frankfurt and then from Frankfurt back to Dulles.

So it's that was a long day of travel.

But yeah, we are back in the RVA and raring to go for basketball

season. And as you remember, you kind of

I thought that was fantastic and hats off to the men for beating

underrepresented that. That's a pretty impressive win.

JMU is is is is is a good team in the Sunbelt and probably are

going to win 20 games this year. So I think that was a good win

for our men to start the to start the season off right.

And by the way, I'll point out to the starting lineup that I

the thing that was probably the most surprising outside of how

good Robinson looked. I mean, we we knew he'd look

many minutes Daughtry played. So I think we were, you know,

just guessing like he'd be like gradually worked in over the

first two months. And yeah, if he he's playing

over 15 minutes in the scrimmage or exhibition, I'd expect

similar minutes this week. And I go back to that first

practice we watched in July when it when we said we we don't know

what to make of this Robinson kid.

He looks like he could be the best player on the team, but

And so for him to go out and just play that kind of game, the

tickets for both of us and our spouses to move down to a closer

Pretty exciting that and and we're the only mid major that's

getting ranked so there's a lot of respect coming for the

women's. Team, I mean, it's, it's, it

feels really, really good to be a Richmond Spiders ladies

basketball fan right now because the hype train is starting to,

to take on a life of its own. I mean, I think, you know, the

coverage in the local paper has been better.

They've, they've definitely picked it up.

I mean, I saw O'Connor's interview with Ali the other

day. Lot of coverage from the

different news media sources. It's going to be a, a really fun

year. And I mean, I think the ladies

are deserving of any and all, all the honors that they get.

one. I think she was nominated for

the Naismith Award, which is really for the top women's

mid major awards for our for both the coach and our players.

I mean, I think, you know, for one, I love that the world is

taking note of how good our, our team is and how good these,

these girls are going to be. I, I don't love the label mid

major because I think you, you could typecast yourself by being

I talked about, you know, Gonzaga was a mid major until

they weren't, you know, and I think our goal is to be a major

And coach Roussell and coach and the rest of the coaching staff

Southern University of Virginia is was founded back in 1867 as a

Last year he took the Southern, the Southern Virginia

University's team to the NCAA tournament for the first time

And then he's added two guys in the front court this year.

One is 6 foot 10 and one is 7 feet.

They've got A7 footer who's 235 lbs and a 610 kid who is is.

That's just a huge front court for AD 3 school.

Now, is there a famous Domo brother who also played D3

college basketball? Yes, there was actually Dan who

played for Bridgewater College back in the 1990s was a was a

very good D3 player and actually was involved in that Bridgewater

team that went to the Sweet 16. The farthest Bridgewater's ever

made it in the D3 field are. They in the same conference as

this Southern University. No, they Dan was in the ODAC.

He was a he's a good player in the ODAC.

I looked through some of the conference, the other teams in

the conference, they did get a kid from the ODAC who was

actually from Richmond. Eastern Mennonite was a school

And Tillman Johnson, he's probably their most noted
