- 0:00Ladies and gentlemen, welcome. To the three O take where we
- 0:03talk all things Major League Baseball, here's Kyle Corwin and
- 0:08Nate Reyes. It.
- 0:11All starts right now. Welcome back to the three O take
- 0:16presenter by Sea Kick. This episode 477.
- 0:19I'll be your host Kyle Corder. I'm here with my Co host Nate
- 0:22Reyes. And Nate, hello.
- 0:31I don't think so. I don't think.
- 0:35So. No, no, no, I'm not taking that
- 0:47trombone nonsense. We finally got a shot of life in
- 0:50this series, and you're going to start us off with the trombone.
- 0:54I am. I am.
- 0:59I'm hurting. Can do you care about your
- 1:03friend that's hurting? Not if.
- 1:07That friend's a Yankee fan. I I hate to say it.
- 1:10I hate to say it. What?
- 1:12It's what a time, man, we, like I said, we finally get a shot of
- 1:17life into the series. And I I understand it's at the
- 1:19expense of your Yankees, But I mean, you got to admit that was
- 1:25that was a a baseball game. That was a baseball game.
- 1:30And I know that, you know, that was a baseball game because even
- 1:33though it didn't go the way you obviously wanted it to go, I
- 1:36know you were feeling something when when everything that
- 1:40happened in that game happened. Like that was quite a roller
- 1:42coaster. So yeah, yeah, I felt every.
- 1:45I felt the good and the bad I felt.
- 1:47Which tells you all. You need a good game.
- 1:49That is, that is a good, good game.
- 1:51I won't. I won't disagree there, but.
- 1:57Do you want to delay? Well, let me ask you this
- 1:59because you know the the the the blessed Mets Dodger series has
- 2:04turned into such a snooze fest that we didn't even wait till
- 2:06the official end of the game to start.
- 2:08That's true this episode. It's true.
- 2:11So how how do you want to go about this?
- 2:12You want to do a start? Mets.
- 2:14Dodgers. Yeah, let's get this.
- 2:16Let's get this. You want to delay the
- 2:18inevitable. Yeah, let's get this nonsense
- 2:20done here. So you want to you want to push
- 2:22off the pain till later in the episode I.
- 2:24Do I do? I do because I'm in a good mood
- 2:26and I don't want to ruin that. It took me a while to get to
- 2:30this good mood. So that's.
- 2:31Fair. That's fair, you know.
- 2:32What I mean few hours and and some food.
- 2:36All right, let us let's, let's talk of Mets, Mets, Dodgers.
- 2:43Sorry, I had to push it, push the broadcast to the Instagram.
- 2:50Why even bother at this point? I mean, talk about talk about a
- 2:55story. And yes, for the record, I'm
- 2:59writing the Mets off. There's there's no hope.
- 3:02There's no hope. It's over.
- 3:04It's done. Talk about a narrative that
- 3:09flipped on its head seemingly overnight.
- 3:13And I know it's only been since Monday since we talked last, but
- 3:16I feel like even then you're feeling like, all right, Mets
- 3:19magic still alive. But two days, what, 2-3 days
- 3:22later? See ya.
- 3:25Yeah, I think this is what like some of the some of the fears
- 3:31that I had, I mentioned I don't know if it was before this
- 3:37series or maybe the last series with the Phillies, it was their
- 3:46Mets pitching starting. At some point it's going to
- 3:51relate to the back of their baseball card.
- 3:54And as awesome as a story that, you know, Manaya and Severino
- 3:59have been and, and even, you know, like Kodai Singa coming
- 4:03back and like rushing to get back and like, those are good
- 4:07stories and they've had good performances and, and have done
- 4:11exciting things, but they're going to regress to the mean at
- 4:17some point and the offensive side of things.
- 4:22Like you can only come back. I said this, you can only come
- 4:25back so many times. You can't come back every game.
- 4:31And, and I know that before the series, none of us saw Dodger
- 4:37pitching doing what they're doing.
- 4:38None of us predicted this. But either way, you knew that
- 4:44offense was going to be there. We we know this offensive
- 4:48production from the Dodger side. So it's tough, man.
- 4:53It's tough. It it's hard to throw Kintana in
- 4:58into that mix as well. But it's it's hard to rely on,
- 5:02let's face it, 5th starters for most rotations.
- 5:12Like I know a team gets hot and they and they're and anything
- 5:16can happen. I know that they've been 1 foot
- 5:20in the grave multiple times in this post season and the offense
- 5:24has been the one that's kind of build them out and giving them a
- 5:28chance to get back into it. Literally, yeah.
- 5:34But like those are those are 5 starters.
- 5:38Those are back of the rotation starters for majority of of
- 5:44teams. These guys are potentially not
- 5:47even I I can like if we're looking across the way in the
- 5:51other league and and looking at like other teams comparison like
- 5:55I I see Nestor, I see Marcus Stroman, I see guys that aren't
- 6:00even getting starts right now. It's.
- 6:02A valid point. As that comp and it's on their
- 6:07shoulders to keep the Mets in it and eventually it's it's running
- 6:13dry man. And I was sitting there I think
- 6:20it was the 6th inning when they started to make a little push.
- 6:24It was like 7 two tonight and bases loaded 2 outs.
- 6:29Winker takes it to the track and right.
- 6:32And I thought it was out off the bat.
- 6:36And it just felt like that was the moment of their season.
- 6:43It, it, it felt like it's all done.
- 6:46Like if that's not going out and it's a 76 ball game and that,
- 6:51that place is going to erupt. And all of a sudden it's, you
- 6:53know, you steal this game and, and now it's at, you know, it's
- 6:56at 22 in the series. Like that changes everything.
- 7:03And it just came up a little short.
- 7:04And I, I think it's like the perfect metaphor and, and micro
- 7:10like it in that moment. It's like a microcosm of all of
- 7:14these things kind of just fizzling out in a way.
- 7:18Is it weird to say? No, I, I'm with you and no, I
- 7:23the reason I'm, I'm making these facial expressions is I'm like,
- 7:27isn't it kind of ironic? I mean, I'm not going to, I'm
- 7:30not going to kick the guy when the team pretty much signed
- 7:34their own death warrant tonight, but isn't it kind of ironic that
- 7:38Jesse Winker was the guy behind it all like.
- 7:41Yeah. This seemed to be the guy that
- 7:43gave him the jolt when they needed it from time to.
- 7:46I mean, he he wasn't like he wasn't the the catalyst of this
- 7:49post season run. Like he he played.
- 7:52He certainly played a big. Role in this big moments and and
- 7:55the. Fact that he is the one that and
- 7:58I can't I I really can't disagree with you like that.
- 8:01That kind of it felt like that when when you see that that ball
- 8:05is not making it out, you're going that's it.
- 8:07This was their only shot because you just know the offense is
- 8:11going to continue to pour on, which is exactly what they did.
- 8:14And and by the by the 7th, Citi Field is down to like 20%
- 8:21capacity. And, and that kind of tells you
- 8:25the story you need to know of this series because I mean, this
- 8:28has just been a absolute beat down on behalf of the Dodgers.
- 8:35It's been thorough. It's been thorough like it on
- 8:41all fronts. It's been thorough.
- 8:44We knew, again, we knew this offense was going to be there.
- 8:47We knew this lineup is capable. Like you're going to, you're
- 8:50going to get struck by one of these MVPS a couple times in a
- 8:54game. It's just going to happen.
- 8:57And tonight was Mookie's night. Otani is Otani and is Otani.
- 9:01He's been doing what Otani does. Otani's fifty for his last 20
- 9:06with runners in on base. Yeah, it's.
- 9:08Mookie Betts is hitting 350 this series.
- 9:12Which Mazie has looked good? Muncie has He's gotten on base
- 9:16in 12 I. Think it's just ended.
- 9:19It just ended in his last step back.
- 9:20His eyes are back. OK, Last I saw it was 12.
- 9:23The 8000 fans that were in City were, you know, kind of gave
- 9:26like a sarcastic cheer, but. I mean, a post season record,
- 9:31you've got Muncie doing that. You've got Mookie who like we
- 9:34talked about did not show up in the postseason like at at any
- 9:39real point in his career. And you've got him showing up,
- 9:42like I said, show he's doing what he's doing.
- 9:44Once you've got those pieces in place and you just get half
- 9:48decent pitching and that's that's.
- 9:51The thing you know, Yamamoto look good tons of punch outs
- 9:54tonight. Bullpen, we know has been the
- 9:56story all series, but I was like even these last couple innings,
- 10:01I'm looking back and I know it's a blow out, but like you see
- 10:06these defensive substitutions close, you know, close to the
- 10:10end of the game for whatever teams leading most of the time
- 10:14in the postseason. And you look at like, OK, Kevin
- 10:17Kiermeyer is arguably one of the best center fielders of this
- 10:21generation. You know, Chris Taylor stepping
- 10:25in paw haste is stepping in like you, you, you.
- 10:30They're very complete and how they can tighten up, tack on
- 10:37like it's there's not a lot of holes right now.
- 10:42And that's scary. That's real scary.
- 10:45I'm terrified if the Yankees can make it to the World Series.
- 10:49I'm terrified if Cleveland, If you're a fan of of the Guardians
- 10:55and you feel like you got a chance to make it, I would be
- 10:59shaking in my boots too. Like this when all things are
- 11:03clicking. This is what they spent their
- 11:07money on. This is what they're invested
- 11:10in. And as much as some fans can
- 11:16hate the Dodgers, it's like there's got to be a respect for
- 11:21these names. They're going to do what they
- 11:24do. And right now all of them are
- 11:26seemingly doing it at the same time.
- 11:29Like the Mets just don't have a chance.
- 11:33Hand up. I laughed at the literally go
- 11:36back and listen. I pretty much signed off last
- 11:38episode laughing at the notion that the Dodgers could go up two
- 11:42to one coming back to or or coming to City Field with Walker
- 11:47Buehler on the mound. And what does Walker Buehler go
- 11:50out and do? Punch outs over 4 innings.
- 11:54Shoved endless ball. We got to, yeah, we got to, you
- 11:59know, redefine what studly starting pitching looks like
- 12:05nowadays. But that was that was every bit
- 12:10of what you would want out of a Walker Buehler who struggled
- 12:14for, I don't know, years at this point.
- 12:19So Dodger fans, you got to be real happy right now.
- 12:23Real happy. I think they're the only slight
- 12:27thing they could be bummed about is not getting to see their team
- 12:31celebrate at home because this thing's done.
- 12:34This thing is not going back to LA, we know that much.
- 12:40Yeah, I mean, you talk about that, the game that Bueller
- 12:42started, that was their what, their 4th shut out as a staff in
- 12:49the previous five games. Yeah, and then Yama motor
- 12:54tonight. What 20?
- 12:57Darn. Gave up two had eight, eight
- 13:00punch outs. I mean, look, the the reality of
- 13:06it is the Dodger, the Dodgers right now are making people look
- 13:09stupid, us included, because and, and I feel like I'm
- 13:13repeating myself at this point, but there was, you mention it,
- 13:19they were able to button themselves up.
- 13:22There was there was holes that you could have identified coming
- 13:25into this postseason as as reasons as to why they wouldn't
- 13:32even make it out of the NLDS. They make it out of the NLDSUK
- 13:36you, you say, OK, well, they're going up and which is kind of
- 13:41the narrative or the the angle I took awesome.
- 13:44You came out and to and to your point, you said they came out of
- 13:47the the NLDS beaten and bloodied by the by the Padres.
- 13:53So you take that, you combine it with the fact that the Mets are
- 13:56just seemingly the, the new, the you fill in, fill in the the
- 14:01blank of the team of destiny at this point.
- 14:03Some thought it maybe was a Tigers that that died off fairly
- 14:06quickly. You, you, you plug the Mets into
- 14:08that. The Dodgers are like, that's
- 14:10cute, but need we remind you that we are the Dodgers and they
- 14:15are the Mets? Yeah, yeah, it's, it's tough,
- 14:24man. And, and like I said, I think
- 14:27the Mets had a a fun story and it's fun to be able to look
- 14:34back, you know, over the last few years and kind of find some
- 14:37type of comp that, you know, the team of destiny.
- 14:40You kept mentioning that like, you know, sometimes it just
- 14:44defies, you know, what looks, what it looks like on paper.
- 14:50But like I'm I'm when you say it out loud and you hear some of
- 14:54these names of big moments that you're relying on Jesse Winker,
- 15:03Jeff McNeil trying to come back and pinch hit Severino Cantana
- 15:14like. For the record though, if this
- 15:16is it, not to not to cut you off, but if this is it for
- 15:19Severino's 2024 season, job well done.
- 15:23He finished it off. I mean I I think he gave up two
- 15:26runs, but zero. Earned.
- 15:27I get that. I get that and job well done.
- 15:30Like I he did pitch well. My issue is that like for a
- 15:36World Series winning team, these aren't the names you should be
- 15:43mentioning. These aren't the names that you
- 15:46should be relying on. And this is just kind of all
- 15:51they got, man. They're riding high on some
- 15:56crazy vibes and big moments and it and it's worked.
- 16:02But again, like they're eventually going to regress to
- 16:05what the back of their baseball card says.
- 16:10And you're starting to see that a little bit.
- 16:13I do feel for Nimmo, by the way. Brandon Nimmo's toughing it.
- 16:17You can see him sluggishly trying to get around the bags
- 16:21like he's hurting. I was, I was thinking that same
- 16:24thing too, not just Nimmo there. There's a handful of guys that
- 16:27are still are still alive in this post season that are, I
- 16:31mean, Rizzo's a guy Freeman. I know Freeman didn't get the
- 16:35start tonight, but I mean, he's been.
- 16:37Mentioned McNeil. Like rushing back, You know,
- 16:39Sanga rushing back. That I mean you got to you got
- 16:43to tip your cap to to to a handful of these guys.
- 16:46Yeah yeah, when you could easily take the out and be like my team
- 16:51has has done fine without me thus far.
- 16:53Like no, I want to contribute. I want to I want to partake in
- 16:57like these games that are before me and and do what I can to make
- 17:01an impact make a difference in the game.
- 17:04And what I mean not to not to jump ahead here, but Rizzo's
- 17:10what was his first day be back or something the other night or
- 17:13he got the start. It was like AR behind single.
- 17:16Yeah, Lace the line, drive up the middle.
- 17:20Yeah, it's, it's very cool to see.
- 17:22It's just, you know, like I said, it's they're I think
- 17:27they've just kind of run out of magic, man.
- 17:29And it doesn't help that you've run into a well oiled machine at
- 17:35the moment in the LA Dodgers. Which again, that and kind of to
- 17:41put a bow on this, that that's the take away here is that it,
- 17:46it should come as no surprise if you look at how this team was
- 17:52built on paper, that this team is a buzz saw at this point in
- 17:56the year. I just didn't I I just didn't
- 17:59think it was actually going to come to fruition the way that it
- 18:02has. And that's that's hand up
- 18:04moment. I, I, I said, and I still don't
- 18:10think I'd call it a cakewalk to the World Series.
- 18:13But I mean, you revisit my, my take from back in March and I'm
- 18:17like, I, this is not going to be a cakewalk for this team.
- 18:20And, and there's a lot of things you got to take into account
- 18:24there. And I think you could still say
- 18:25that it's been an uphill climb for this team to get to the
- 18:27World Series presume assuming that they get to that point.
- 18:31But you know, I'd. Hate to say it, but it's just it
- 18:35felt like, and I know it's 5 versus 7 games, but like it, it
- 18:39felt like the DS between the Dodgers and the Padres was like
- 18:43the real NLCS. You know, they just, it felt
- 18:48like that was like the heavyweight matchup.
- 18:54I, I, on a separate note, and we'll get into this at some
- 18:57point, I think when, when this, you know, when the post season's
- 18:59over and, and the trophy has been hoisted.
- 19:01But I, I think, I think baseball needs to consider some type of
- 19:06restructuring to the, the playoff format and the way
- 19:10things are lined up. It's just, there's certain
- 19:14things that just, I don't know, like I, I'd like to see it a
- 19:18little bit differently, but overall, what can you do?
- 19:26What can you do when 2 MVPS are going nuts in the third?
- 19:31MVP is just toughing it out for for the whole world to see, you
- 19:36know? Well, it's not an MVP, but what
- 19:41can you do when John Kenzie Noel steps to the plate?
- 19:44Am I right? Am I?
- 19:49Am I right? I mean.
- 19:54You you had to know deep in your bones that that was happening.
- 19:59I don't care. There were two There were two
- 20:01things that I said out loud during this game.
- 20:04Two things that I said out loud. One, I hated the layover of
- 20:17Weaver going back out for the 9th.
- 20:25I hated that, and I hated the way Holmes, AB with David Frey
- 20:36felt. Those were the two things that I
- 20:37said to myself out loud. I was watching in the shower
- 20:41before dinner. I had my phone on the outside of
- 20:44the glass and I'm like wiping the freaking fog off of.
- 20:48I've been there, I've been there.
- 20:49The. Steam off of the window so I can
- 20:51look at the phone. I'm like, got it all the way up
- 20:53and I'm like still loud in the shower.
- 20:55But you got to set it on a that's a rookie move.
- 20:58You got to set it on like a ledge or like a, a shampoo
- 21:02holder or like a rack or something.
- 21:04I can. Get it in the rack in the
- 21:06shower. Yeah, I know.
- 21:07I thought I should. Probably.
- 21:08We do have like a little shelf. Maybe we'll do that next time.
- 21:11But you know, those were the two things that I said out loud, you
- 21:14know, was just like I, I didn't like the layover.
- 21:16And look, I don't I'm not going to sit here and and be that that
- 21:21fan that completely takes away from Jacenzi Noel's moment.
- 21:26Like that crazy moment. Stephen Vogt has been pressing
- 21:33pinch hit buttons all series just over and over and over.
- 21:37And it's been coming up dry until this point.
- 21:44I'm not mad at Luke Weaver, I'm not mad at Clay Holmes.
- 21:50I'm mad about multiple things with this game.
- 21:53But Aaron Boone's decision to continuously make him come out
- 21:59for four and five out saves over and over and over.
- 22:07If you're going to use Clay, use him in the eighth, bring him
- 22:13out. And I know you get weird and
- 22:15nervous when somebody's on base. Yeah, I know you get a little
- 22:19crazy. But with Austin Wells back
- 22:22there, I feel better movement wise for him than Trevino Bling.
- 22:28Bring Clay Holmes in for the 8th.
- 22:30Let him shut that down. He's look great.
- 22:33Let him shut that down and let Weaver have a true clean night.
- 22:39But the bot top 9 lasted a little bit.
- 22:44It was a little bit of an extended inning.
- 22:46Yeah, it's not. It's not warm in Cleveland.
- 22:51So for Luke Weaver to get hot on short notice because of that
- 22:56back-to-back home run, which we got robbed of, Judge, I told you
- 23:03was coming and to do it off a Class A the way he did, big boy
- 23:08status like that's. What's going on with Class A?
- 23:12Class A don't look right, but that's what I'm saying is that
- 23:17like Boone pressing that over and over again, my biggest
- 23:21takeaways in what pisses me off the most and what I was fearful
- 23:25of the most was that this, this is how the Yankees have lost
- 23:32their games throughout the entire year.
- 23:34If you've watched them at all, this is how they've lost
- 23:39questionable defense, specifically from the infield
- 23:45and big, big base running blunders, huge base running
- 23:51blunders, costly. This is how they lose and back
- 23:55end bullpen. Now.
- 23:57It's been nails so far up until this point, but those are the
- 24:01three things that make the cocktail of a Yankees loss, and
- 24:06we saw all of it today. It's a bad game.
- 24:09It's a bad game. And here's how it sounded in
- 24:13Spanish. Electric moment, you got to give
- 25:10credit where credit's due. You got to give credit where
- 25:12credit's due. That change up backed up down
- 25:16and in an incredible moment, incredible bat flip and I'm
- 25:24nervous to be honest. The David Fry thing I kind of
- 25:28saw once once I saw Clay Holmes coming out in the 10th.
- 25:31I was like this is too close to a save opportunity.
- 25:34This isn't and this isn't this isn't going to get to the 11th
- 25:38unfortunately. But again, like, you know,
- 25:44Stephen votes been pressing these buttons, pressing these
- 25:47buttons, and it's been strange to see because it has not worked
- 25:53until this. It's been very strange to see.
- 25:57But for Joe Kenzie Noel, man, that guy's got I I I it's just
- 26:06it reminds me so much of like prime tweak.
- 26:10I see so much in like a very quick hands strong can
- 26:17absolutely obliterate a baseball in the inner half.
- 26:20That's what it feels like from him.
- 26:24And yeah, just not not not good man, not good.
- 26:35Other stuff with the Yankees. When I told you that Rizzo looks
- 26:39old and cold coming in to sub in at first that was brutal.
- 26:44And then a couple couple mistakes on the bases that just
- 26:49were a little strange. And a lot of these things can
- 26:53like the Yankees have gotten here because of the big boppers
- 26:57and the big there's our guy Ryan Rib.
- 27:01A lot of those things can be covered up by the big bops, you
- 27:04know, by the big men and and big performances by your your core.
- 27:09But like, there are these moments still show up and it's
- 27:12still ugly. Sorry, did you say big bop?
- 27:16Big bop again. I mean, you know something
- 27:32special is going on when you've got your Spanish broadcaster
- 27:36singing Christmas songs at the top of his.
- 27:39Lungs. I can't hate on it.
- 27:41I really can't. I don't even dislike the
- 27:43Guardians, to be honest. Josh Naylor is the only one that
- 27:46bugs me. I don't like there's no one else
- 27:49on there like they're they're a likable squad.
- 27:51Stephen Vogt's a likable manager like that.
- 27:55It's the tough thing is, is that like, again, I've seen how this
- 28:01team loses. I've also seen it come in
- 28:06consecutive like a streak almost in a way that they're bad.
- 28:11Baseball can kind of just show up and be there for us, you
- 28:15know? It's like a fart that just
- 28:16lingers, that's what. That, and you got to wonder,
- 28:20like, was that more than a fart like this is?
- 28:22Yeah. Do.
- 28:22I need to be worried. Here.
- 28:24It's still here. All right, Well, let me It
- 28:26hasn't passed. Well, let me ask you this.
- 28:29Would you? Can you really classify game
- 28:33three as bad baseball? Let me rephrase.
- 28:39How much of this are you putting on the Yankees losing it versus
- 28:44the Guardians? Just having a couple massive
- 28:47moments that if your team is going to do anything in the
- 28:51postseason, regardless what team it is, you're going to have to
- 28:54have some of these moments throughout, which they, I mean,
- 28:57they've had they've had a couple scattered throughout, but I
- 29:00think they were due for a big moment like this.
- 29:03I mean, how how much are you giving credit to to one versus
- 29:07the other? I'm giving more credit to the
- 29:09guards because like game one and Game 2 didn't even feel like the
- 29:12Guardians because we talked about like back when they were
- 29:16playing the Tigers. Like the Guardians play tight
- 29:18baseball, good defense, good base running, good pitching.
- 29:23And every once in a while bats are going to show up, but it's
- 29:27not going to be at this explosion.
- 29:29And game one and Game 2 was like there is nothing.
- 29:33It seemed like they like, I don't know if they were nervous,
- 29:36but like really questionable defense, really bad defense, a
- 29:40lot of walks and it just didn't quite give me Cleveland guardian
- 29:46baseball vibes. This was Cleveland Guardian
- 29:49baseball. This was a lot better, much
- 29:52better. And I am nervous.
- 29:56I think I, I mean, I'm nervous that they'd still have two more
- 29:58games at home. I'm nervous that I've, I've,
- 30:03I've watched series leads get blown and it, it doesn't matter,
- 30:12you know, how much of A lead you got.
- 30:17It's, it's tough, man. I'm, I'm worried about momentum.
- 30:21I'm, I'm worried about a few different things for sure.
- 30:24So we shall see. We shall see.
- 30:30I don't know. What's the match up tomorrow?
- 30:39I got to look. Oh my.
- 30:41Shut up. Sorry.
- 30:50What were you saying? Oh, so we got Luisio, Gavin
- 30:55Williams lining up for tomorrow. Luisio getting his first start
- 31:00of the post season. I think if the Yanks can steal,
- 31:08steal one in Cleveland, I think it's got to be this one.
- 31:14It's got to be this one. Well, I mean they're up to one
- 31:21in the series. I mean they they all but had
- 31:25this one in the bags so they could have been looking at a a
- 31:29three O lead in this series. I would have felt really good
- 31:33about that. I was starting to feel really
- 31:35good about. That the track record of Major
- 31:38League Baseball you should feel. Yeah.
- 31:40Pretty good about a three O lead.
- 31:42Well, maybe. Maybe not you as a Yankee fan in
- 31:45particular, but generally. Speaking, that's what I was
- 31:47saying. I've seen these blown before.
- 31:49Generally speaking, you should feel good about a three O lead.
- 31:53But with that said, we are now looking, we're staring down the
- 31:58barrel and I it, it's, it doesn't come off the tongue as
- 32:02easily having seen what we just saw from Cleveland.
- 32:08But assuming everybody wakes up tomorrow, assuming the Yankees
- 32:12can kind of flush this and and hit the reset button,
- 32:17mathematically, we're staring down the barrel of a Yankees
- 32:20Dodgers World Series. Yeah.
- 32:24What are our thoughts there? And I by no means, by no means
- 32:28am I chalking in the Yankees, the World Series, Dodgers, yes.
- 32:34But given they have the lead with just a handful of games
- 32:38left, like I said, mathematically, we're standing
- 32:41on the barrel of a Dodgers, Yankees World Series.
- 32:43How do we feel about that? And by me asking this, I am, in
- 32:48case you're wanting, trying to get into your head a little bit
- 32:50about like, oh, let me get ahead of myself here and think about
- 32:53the Yanks in the World Series. Only hopefully for the rug to be
- 32:56ripped out from underneath you. But.
- 32:59You'd really root for the Dodgers, huh?
- 33:01You'd really you'd really do that?
- 33:04That's fair. You're at between those two
- 33:07teams. I'm not saying root for the
- 33:09Yanks. I'm just saying maybe, maybe you
- 33:12would appreciate your friend getting one for the first time.
- 33:15I. Absolutely would not.
- 33:16Why? Why?
- 33:18Who? Who do you think I.
- 33:19Am whatever. Unbelievable.
- 33:24Yeah, I mean. I, I will say I was thinking
- 33:27about it a lot more in the, in the 7th inning of tonight and I
- 33:31was thinking of that possibility a lot more now I got to, you
- 33:35know, pump the brakes just a little bit.
- 33:40I, I fully like full honesty here.
- 33:43I'm pretty nervous. I, I think the only thing I can
- 33:47somewhat hope for is whatever kind of layoff the Dodgers have
- 33:55if they do finish out the series tomorrow, if there is a, you
- 34:00know, four or five day layover, that's all I can hope for is
- 34:04that there's some kind of cooling off that happens.
- 34:09Other than that, like I, I, I think they're the best team of
- 34:13the four. I think they're the deepest and
- 34:16I I haven't seen the Yankees deal with that type of offense
- 34:23yet in this post season. They haven't had to deal with
- 34:27that yet. So let's talk about a cakewalk.
- 34:29Yeah. So it's like, I don't, I don't
- 34:33know, man. For again, I need to I I cannot
- 34:38stress this enough. I know I I have.
- 34:42Faith in the guards. After tonight, a little bit of
- 34:44faith. Not, not a whole lot.
- 34:46But I think it injects. I think it injects a lot and
- 34:48again, like there's a couple things.
- 34:49It's still being in Cleveland is a big deal.
- 34:52Like that matters to have two more in Cleveland.
- 34:56And they talk all the time. You, you hear it all the time on
- 34:58these broadcasts. You, you see that, you see the
- 35:00numbers floating around when you're reading your articles or
- 35:02reading your tweets. Game 3 is a very pivotal game in
- 35:07a best of seven series. And you not only go out as a
- 35:11Guardians, you not only go out and win the game, you do it in
- 35:13the fashion that you did. That's, that's big.
- 35:15And. There's there.
- 35:19There's just something about the Cleveland Guardians that's like
- 35:24your best player doesn't get the recognition league wide that he
- 35:28deserves. And it's like a roster.
- 35:31It's like an island of misfit toys, dude.
- 35:34Like, they're all really good and they're all underrated and
- 35:38no one talks about any of them and they're overlooked.
- 35:41The entire roster is underappreciated, everybody.
- 35:46Aaron Boone said he didn't want you to do that.
- 35:48Oh, I know he doesn't want you to.
- 35:50Talk about how Jose Ramirez underrated.
- 35:52I don't think he's underrated, I think he's under appreciated.
- 35:56Fair was that was that comment just like a a kiss of death for
- 36:00Jose Ramirez this series? I mean, I know he he had a bop
- 36:03in what, Game 2? But yeah, he's he's hitting.
- 36:06He's hitting five points higher than Judge, who we know has
- 36:09been, yeah, not as not as great this post season.
- 36:15You know, sounds like a couple couple bombs.
- 36:17But Jose Ramirez hitting $1.79 this post season.
- 36:22Yeah, that's the other thing too, is that like he hasn't even
- 36:25clicked yet. And if he starts clicking, yeah,
- 36:28this lineup gets a little scarier.
- 36:32But it that what I'm saying is that like their backs against
- 36:38the wall, it, it feels like this is the perfect roster to have
- 36:43their backs against the wall. It feels like all of them are
- 36:46underappreciated. All of them are overlooked.
- 36:50It's just that's the kind of roster it is, including their
- 36:53manager, you know, So it's like, it just seems like I'm not
- 37:00surprised if they take the game tomorrow.
- 37:02I I'm not surprised if this momentum carries over.
- 37:06Glad you said that. Let's, let's, let's wrap it up
- 37:11there. Give me your give me your
- 37:12predictions on on how these these two series I don't want
- 37:18maybe finish out over the next few days or a couple days.
- 37:22I'm sticking to my Yankees in six.
- 37:24I I said that before, so it's still in play.
- 37:27I'm just going to ride that out. Hopefully, hopefully if it goes
- 37:35to seven. I'm really nervous, but I
- 37:37wouldn't mind seeing it back in New York.
- 37:39I think that'd be pretty cool. Mets are cooked.
- 37:43It's that's over tomorrow. Concur.
- 37:50Yeah, I, I mean, I in terms of how many games, I don't know, I
- 37:54think the the Yankees still find a way to to do it.
- 37:56And then obviously already talked about it.
- 37:59Mets are absolutely fried. Yeah, I mean talking talk about
- 38:05a, what's that? What's that imagery about A A *
- 38:09falling from the you know what? I you know what I'm talking
- 38:13about. No.
- 38:16What's the phrase? Come on, what is the phrase so?
- 38:29What are you typing in Star Falling phrase?
- 38:34Phrase that says * falling. Basically, you know, it's like
- 38:41that classic phrase. It's.
- 38:43Probably not even that good at this.
- 38:44Point A * Falling from the sky that burns up.
- 38:47That's not what I'm looking for you.
- 38:48Know. If you're listening, you know
- 38:50what I'm talking about. Yeah.
- 38:53He burns out quick. Something something to that
- 38:56effect. That's basically what the Mets
- 38:58are at this stage. They.
- 39:00Am I? Am I crazy that Lindor wears
- 39:03pants down tonight? Yeah, and I like it.
- 39:05For the first time in a while, I.
- 39:07I made note of that. I made a little mental note.
- 39:08I was like, you know what I like?
- 39:09I like. Pants down, Lindor looks.
- 39:12Great. Hold on.
- 39:12Yeah. Pause.
- 39:14Pause. That's what you wanted to say.
- 39:15That's what I was about to say, but you just rolled on through
- 39:17with it. I I helped myself.
- 39:20Pants down, Lindor. That's that's a good Nate out of
- 39:25context clip. Pants, pants down.
- 39:28Lindor looks real good. Yeah, mats are cooked.
- 39:34What are those probables real fast before we go?
- 39:37Flaherty and David Peterson. David Peterson was announced.
- 39:41Yeah, as I mean probables so. Well, you're everybody's cleaned
- 39:47it up for them tomorrow. The whole the whole pitching
- 39:51staff's got cleats on tomorrow. Tell you what I miss, I'm going
- 39:58to miss the the multiple games in a day thing.
- 40:00Once you, I mean, you're when you're getting four games in a
- 40:03day to start things off in the preseason, you get to the World
- 40:06Series like this sucks. Has this flown by?
- 40:09Is it just me? It's flown by, yeah, like real
- 40:13fast. I don't even who was in the wild
- 40:16cards like who who who matched up in those games.
- 40:19I don't even remember. I was at one of them Royals and
- 40:22OS That felt like last week. Yeah, yeah.
- 40:28Crazy. Wow man, I think we're just old.
- 40:33That's a problem too. Unbelievable.
- 40:52Anyway, let's get out of here good good catching up on these
- 40:56last few games. You guys will hear from us what
- 41:01what's our what's our next what's our next pod in order I.

- 41:59including potential World Series tickets, have you seen the
- 42:01prices on some of these things? It's getting worse, huh?
