- 0:04Speaker 1: Alright, alright, come until you're alive from Philly. It's the
- 0:09Speaker 1: Boy and Tony Foolsco. Show. Always Polly Fools go here
- 0:15Speaker 1: with Tony Foolsco and Tony. We're coming off one of
- 0:18Speaker 1: the most turbulent shows in the history of this show.
- 0:24Speaker 1: As you know. Last week, uh right, your own Whitesman
- 0:30Speaker 1: more like You're off Whitesman canceled at the last minute,
- 0:35Speaker 1: totally unprofessional. And you know he was writing a book
- 0:38Speaker 1: about the Sixers, and well, I guess he didn't show up,
- 0:42Speaker 1: just like the Sixes chose not to show up. So
- 0:44Speaker 1: I guess it makes perfect sense, doesn't it, Tony, your
- 0:48Speaker 1: own Whitesman, more like your own whites did we invite
- 0:52Speaker 1: him on the show Man? That's his name, great one, Tony. Anyway, today,
- 0:59Speaker 1: hopefully guest will show up. You know, you never know
- 1:01Speaker 1: at this point anyway, Special report people, because as you
- 1:05Speaker 1: all know, American sports are under attack. You know, the
- 1:09Speaker 1: other day we went to watch the Phillies Mets game.
- 1:11Speaker 1: We're flipping through the channels. We flipped to the Yes
- 1:14Speaker 1: Network and you know what's on there. Not baseball, not basketball,
- 1:19Speaker 1: not you know, the the Knicks flapped out of course,
- 1:22Speaker 1: not it was soccer exactly. You know, for years the
- 1:28Speaker 1: sports media has been trying to force soccer down our throats,
- 1:32Speaker 1: like the ABC Network did with comedian Bonnie Hunt. Great,
- 1:36Speaker 1: great modern reference there including and kill the audience. They
- 1:41Speaker 1: all know, great, they all know. So anyway, we sit there,
- 1:45Speaker 1: we try and watch the soccer for five minutes. We
- 1:47Speaker 1: don't know what the hell is going on, why everyone's
- 1:49Speaker 1: so excited. Meanwhile, this commentator, he's going apeshit. He's so excited.
- 1:54Speaker 1: So we thought we got to bring this guy on
- 1:57Speaker 1: and put him in his place and just show him.
- 1:58Speaker 1: You know, nobody gives a shit about your sport. It's
- 2:01Speaker 1: an embarrassment. He was sitting there yelling and screaming. It
- 2:04Speaker 1: was one nothing Yeah, boring as fuck. Anyway, his name
- 2:08Speaker 1: is Ian Joy, color commentator for the S Network and
- 2:12Speaker 1: CBS Sports. We're gonna bring him on in a moment.
- 2:15Speaker 1: But you know, first, people, you know a lot of
- 2:17Speaker 1: a lot of you out there. You know you say
- 2:18Speaker 1: we're too negative. You know that we're always knocking people.
- 2:22Speaker 1: I don't get that exactly. I don't get that. But
- 2:25Speaker 1: that's why today we're gonna go out of our way
- 2:27Speaker 1: to salute a group of people in the business who
- 2:30Speaker 1: are doing it right. And that's why it's a new
- 2:33Speaker 1: segment on the show called great People in Sports Media.
- 2:38Speaker 1: People in sports media. All right, Tony, we're gonna salute
- 2:45Speaker 1: right now some people in sports media who are just
- 2:48Speaker 1: doing it the right way, just doing it how it
- 2:51Speaker 1: should be done. And people obviously we're talking about the
- 2:55Speaker 1: great people behind the ESPN stats at info Twitter account.
- 3:00Speaker 1: You know, if you want information and more importantly, context
- 3:06Speaker 1: on information, there is no better place to go online.
- 3:10Speaker 1: In fact, where just gonna read you some of their
- 3:13Speaker 1: most recent posts. And when you hear them, you're just
- 3:16Speaker 1: gonna you're got your mind is gonna be wow you,
- 3:19Speaker 1: it's gonna wow you. Of course you've probably read them already,
- 3:21Speaker 1: but let's just take a moment to kind of soak
- 3:24Speaker 1: these in here. Here's the first one. Tony Washington, National's
- 3:28Speaker 1: trade Turner just became the first player to hit for
- 3:32Speaker 1: the cycle on his birthday in the modern era. Since wow,
- 3:39Speaker 1: wow wow is right. You know, it's crazy because we
- 3:43Speaker 1: were just talking the other day, Hey, has any player
- 3:46Speaker 1: hit for the cycle on their birthday? And now we
- 3:50Speaker 1: know it just gives you so much context because you know,
- 3:55Speaker 1: whenever I'm watching a game and a hit or is
- 3:57Speaker 1: at the plate? I think, is it this guy's birthday?
- 4:01Speaker 1: Is it close to his birthday? Because it is. You
- 4:03Speaker 1: got to imagine he's got some edge right some birthday
- 4:06Speaker 1: and truly an unbelievable accomplishment. And may I also say
- 4:13Speaker 1: happy belated birthday to trade there. There you go? Alright,
- 4:18Speaker 1: the next one up? Here's another great one. Uh. Mississippi
- 4:21Speaker 1: State beat Vanderbilt to two in Game two of the
- 4:26Speaker 1: College World Series to move within one win of their
- 4:29Speaker 1: first team National championship. The Bulldogs are one of three
- 4:34Speaker 1: Power Five Conference members without an n c A A
- 4:37Speaker 1: team national championship. Kansas State and Virginia Tech are the others. Wow,
- 4:43Speaker 1: that truly is an unbelievable piece of information that I
- 4:49Speaker 1: did not know until I checked Twitter. You know, this
- 4:54Speaker 1: is so great because if the Bulldogs do win, you'll
- 4:58Speaker 1: immediately be able to turn to somewhere next to you
- 5:01Speaker 1: and say, you've just witnessed history, one of the Power
- 5:05Speaker 1: five conferences finally getting a title for a team that
- 5:10Speaker 1: didn't have one. Exactly, this is the college baseball equivalent
- 5:15Speaker 1: of where were you when Kennedy was shot? So true,
- 5:20Speaker 1: Tony let me hit you with another one here. The
- 5:23Speaker 1: Cubs scored seven runs in the top of the first
- 5:27Speaker 1: inning today and lost fifteen seven. They are the second
- 5:31Speaker 1: team in modern MLB history since to score seven plus
- 5:37Speaker 1: runs in the first inning and lose by seven plus runs.
- 5:41Speaker 1: It's not over yet, people, there's still more. On April six,
- 5:46Speaker 1: the Giants scored seven in the first inning and also
- 5:50Speaker 1: lost fifteen seven. Wow, you'll see the parallels there throughout history.
- 5:56Speaker 1: You know, it's the fabric of information. They said, a
- 6:00Speaker 1: history repeats itself. There. You go, right, and you just
- 6:04Speaker 1: got to think of the people, the hard working people
- 6:07Speaker 1: behind this Twitter account, you know, just working so hard
- 6:10Speaker 1: because you know, how can you watch sports news. Imagine
- 6:14Speaker 1: if you watch sports news and you came away not
- 6:16Speaker 1: knowing that nugget. You know, the next day people at
- 6:20Speaker 1: work they might be bringing it up and you might
- 6:24Speaker 1: not know about it, which just would be totally embarrassing
- 6:27Speaker 1: for you. Also, now that people are going back to work,
- 6:31Speaker 1: think of all the nuggets you could use around the
- 6:34Speaker 1: water cooler, and think so all the pussy you're gonna
- 6:38Speaker 1: get in your office. You'll be so popular with the
- 6:42Speaker 1: people at your office repeating great nuggets like this one.
- 6:46Speaker 1: In fact, let me give you one more. On Tuesday
- 6:49Speaker 1: Night versus the Royals, Garrett Cole posted his lowest spin
- 6:53Speaker 1: rate with his four seema curve and slider in any
- 6:58Speaker 1: start since team. Wow, you're gonna get all the pussy
- 7:03Speaker 1: you can handle in your office. Bring your condoms, you're
- 7:08Speaker 1: gonna need them at work. Wait, I gotta say, Tony,
- 7:11Speaker 1: there's one one tweet they had a couple of days ago,
- 7:14Speaker 1: and you know, I don't know if I like it
- 7:16Speaker 1: so much. Let me read it to you. Uh, there
- 7:18Speaker 1: have only been three Euro knockout stage games. Whatever that means.
- 7:24Speaker 1: Nobody knows. I don't Euro what what is that? That's
- 7:27Speaker 1: the money in history in which both teams scored three goals.
- 7:32Speaker 1: Two of them have come today France and Switzerland. I
- 7:36Speaker 1: tied three three after regulation catch extra time on ESPN. Now,
- 7:43Speaker 1: that is a terrible promo, Like why would you even
- 7:45Speaker 1: tweet about that? You know, on that note, it's a
- 7:49Speaker 1: perfect segue, because you know, we're so good at what
- 7:52Speaker 1: we do on this show. We give you. We just
- 7:54Speaker 1: have great segways. You know, the connectivity. And I see
- 7:57Speaker 1: our guests coming on the line, so eager probably to
- 8:01Speaker 1: talk to us about how great soccer is. We're gonna
- 8:03Speaker 1: take this guy down a few pegs, so let's get
- 8:05Speaker 1: him on the FUSCO satellite network. All right, this guy,
- 8:12Speaker 1: as we told you up top, analyst color commentator for
- 8:16Speaker 1: soccer or the Yes Network, also works for CBS Sports,
- 8:20Speaker 1: played soccer. Whatever. Let's just get him in here. I enjoy.
- 8:25Speaker 1: Welcome to the show. Welcome, thank you, thank you, thank
- 8:28Speaker 1: you so much for having me on. Well, you know,
- 8:30Speaker 1: first of all, tell us in the people who don't
- 8:33Speaker 1: know you, you know, which is most people in the
- 8:35Speaker 1: United States. I'll come you care so much about soccer?
- 8:39Speaker 1: Is it because you're a foreigner? Oh? Foreigner is a
- 8:43Speaker 1: difficult word. I mean, I was born in California. If
- 8:46Speaker 1: you want to say people from California or foreigners, then
- 8:49Speaker 1: fair enough. Don't be fooled by the accent. You know
- 8:52Speaker 1: the accent is Scottish, yes, but born in California, so
- 8:56Speaker 1: therefore possible to live and work in this try. So yeah,
- 9:00Speaker 1: I'll accept the foreigner because of the accent. But yeah,
- 9:03Speaker 1: I got my opportunity obviously because I was a professional
- 9:07Speaker 1: soccer player. And you're right, not many people knew who
- 9:09Speaker 1: I was until I actually started to work on camera
- 9:13Speaker 1: and now I'm making a good name for myself and
- 9:15Speaker 1: hopefully you guys can start watching more soccer so you
- 9:17Speaker 1: can hear my name on a moment. Wasn't it strange
- 9:20Speaker 1: growing up in California with a Scottish accent? How did
- 9:23Speaker 1: that work? Well? I was three years old when I left,
- 9:26Speaker 1: which is why the accent kind of changed a little
- 9:29Speaker 1: bit because accent. Three years old, though, I had a
- 9:33Speaker 1: really thick California accent, Like people thought, wow, this dude
- 9:37Speaker 1: is amazing on a surfboard. But yeah, when I went
- 9:40Speaker 1: to Scotland, I mean everyone was like this American weirdo. Right,
- 9:44Speaker 1: So now I'm coming back, they're staying like now European.
- 9:50Speaker 1: You see, this is why we brought you on because
- 9:52Speaker 1: we don't understand. You know, we're on social media. We
- 9:55Speaker 1: got a fingers on the pulse. We see all these
- 9:57Speaker 1: people going apeesh it over soccer. We see you going
- 10:00Speaker 1: apeh it. Tell us what's all this hubbub about? Because
- 10:03Speaker 1: we don't get it at all. Seems totally boring. Well
- 10:07Speaker 1: you should know because Philadelphia has actually got a really
- 10:09Speaker 1: good soccer team. Did you guys know there was a
- 10:11Speaker 1: team there? Yeah, and the name of that team is
- 10:14Speaker 1: who cares. You See, we don't talk about minor sports
- 10:17Speaker 1: on this show. We're major national broadcasters. We talk about
- 10:21Speaker 1: the topics that are of interest to people, which is
- 10:24Speaker 1: obviously not a concern for you. Okay, I mean, okay,
- 10:29Speaker 1: let's go. We're you know, we're a major broadcast. Well,
- 10:31Speaker 1: many people say that their supporters groups is better than
- 10:34Speaker 1: the Eagles, but I mean that's Philadelphia. I only know,
- 10:37Speaker 1: I know, I know New York sports. I don't know Philadelphi.
- 10:40Speaker 1: Maybe their jock supporters, yeah, exactly. So well, I mean, listen,
- 10:45Speaker 1: it's a big sport. Obviously, it's the world's game, you know,
- 10:48Speaker 1: over here in the States. I learned over in Europe
- 10:51Speaker 1: and brought it back to the States with me. And
- 10:53Speaker 1: now that's why I'm working on television to educate people
- 10:56Speaker 1: about the beautiful game. They call it the beautiful game
- 10:59Speaker 1: bike when I played it with is called the ugly
- 11:00Speaker 1: game because it was a nasty guy, you know, a
- 11:02Speaker 1: nasty bustard there on the field. But it's a beautiful game.
- 11:06Speaker 1: And if you've been watching the Euros recently, or if
- 11:08Speaker 1: you've gone down to an MLS game, um in Philadelphia,
- 11:11Speaker 1: there you would you would enjoy it yourself. I'm quietly
- 11:13Speaker 1: confident you'd enjoy ninety minutes of guys just working hard.
- 11:17Speaker 1: And I'll tell you this sport is the hardest working
- 11:20Speaker 1: sport out there. Better than they give me. It is
- 11:26Speaker 1: the hardest working sport out No enough enough, not not enough. Yeah,
- 11:30Speaker 1: It's all I see is it's running and kicking. You know,
- 11:33Speaker 1: if I wanted to see that, I'd go. I go
- 11:34Speaker 1: down to the playground and watch kids play kickball. That's
- 11:37Speaker 1: what That's what which is more interesting? Isn't it just
- 11:40Speaker 1: growing up? Kickball? Isn't that what this is? Oh? You
- 11:43Speaker 1: know in Europe they call it football, right and over
- 11:45Speaker 1: here you guys call it soccer. But what do you
- 11:49Speaker 1: call football over here? Like? What? What? That's NFL? Right? Yeah,
- 11:54Speaker 1: that's just how often do they use their food to
- 11:57Speaker 1: make contact with the ball and football? What are you
- 12:01Speaker 1: talking about? Punting and field goals or what everyone loves
- 12:05Speaker 1: most about the NFL? That's right after the commercials, that's right? Yeah,
- 12:13Speaker 1: So what would you call what would you call it?
- 12:15Speaker 1: You have another name American football? Are you talking about NFL?
- 12:20Speaker 1: Why would I know? I don't call it Scottish soccer
- 12:25Speaker 1: don't make no sense. No, it's we would call it
- 12:27Speaker 1: football because what happens is there's eleven guys on each
- 12:30Speaker 1: side who run around kicking a ball with their food.
- 12:33Speaker 1: Hence the world football, and that's why it's the world's
- 12:36Speaker 1: name football. If you ask. In Germany, it's called foosball
- 12:40Speaker 1: foot German foot foosball, so therefore they call it the
- 12:45Speaker 1: same as pretty much everyone else. And the spaceball is
- 12:47Speaker 1: that where the name for the foosball game comes. Yeah,
- 12:50Speaker 1: that's a good game. That's a good game. Now, if
- 12:52Speaker 1: they had a major football team, you probably watched Adam Philadelphia.
- 12:57Speaker 1: Don't you think the ratings for your network, Yes, network
- 13:00Speaker 1: would be higher if it was foodsball you'd be commentating. Yeah,
- 13:03Speaker 1: I mean, I think the Yankees are doing okay there.
- 13:05Speaker 1: I'm not sure how it goes in Philadelphia, but the
- 13:08Speaker 1: ratings are through the roof in New York. Even if
- 13:10Speaker 1: the teams player's saw your soccer ratings, your soccer ratings.
- 13:14Speaker 1: We heard your last broadcast got beaten by a rerun
- 13:17Speaker 1: of Bonnie Miller? Does that make you upset? To here?
- 13:21Speaker 1: Do you even know what Bonnie Miller is? Great show?
- 13:25Speaker 1: Never heard him? Oh? Yeah, alright. Look, you know you
- 13:29Speaker 1: call soccer a beautiful game, you know, but there are
- 13:32Speaker 1: several problems with soccer, and when we point them out
- 13:35Speaker 1: to you, you're gonna you're gonna realize. You know, the
- 13:37Speaker 1: first problem with soccer is there's not enough scoring. Obviously,
- 13:41Speaker 1: it's boring as fuck. Tony, tell him a solution for that. Okay, ready,
- 13:46Speaker 1: goalies can't use their hands. You know, I always thought
- 13:50Speaker 1: it doesn't make any sense. How come this fucking guy
- 13:53Speaker 1: gets to use his hands but nobody else gets to
- 13:56Speaker 1: use their hands? What's so fucking special about this guy?
- 13:59Speaker 1: And argue with that, Tony, goalie is not using their hands?
- 14:02Speaker 1: Go a great. Do you guys have a goalkeeper and hockey? Uh? Yeah,
- 14:11Speaker 1: it's called a goalie. What does he use his hands?
- 14:14Speaker 1: He uses a stick and a glove, but he uses
- 14:17Speaker 1: his arms and his hands and he can make contact
- 14:19Speaker 1: with a puck. Right, we're talking about soccer when we're
- 14:21Speaker 1: talking about but as a goalkeeper. You said goalkeeper and
- 14:27Speaker 1: not exactly the same in like hockey. I think there's
- 14:29Speaker 1: a team in Philadelphia. I'm not sure if if they
- 14:31Speaker 1: have a hockey team. Yeah, they do have a hockey team,
- 14:37Speaker 1: you right, sorry, I'm forgetting they have more than a
- 14:40Speaker 1: soccer team. And this is why the sports. So you're
- 14:43Speaker 1: not open to ideas, you're not open to more scoring,
- 14:47Speaker 1: you know. On that note, ton'ty just tell him my
- 14:49Speaker 1: final idea right there? This one's a say we go.
- 14:51Speaker 1: You can't argue with this one. Add a three point
- 14:55Speaker 1: line makes Burl fixed sense? Three points switch you booked?
- 15:03Speaker 1: Say again? Sorry, what the hell? What just happened? That's
- 15:06Speaker 1: my wife, was my life. Sorry. I was just asking her.
- 15:09Speaker 1: She she was asking if I wanted another drink. Hold
- 15:12Speaker 1: on a moment. You're a broadcaster, you are a past
- 15:17Speaker 1: You have to tell me we invite you on this
- 15:19Speaker 1: show and compliment you. We'll get back on track. We'll
- 15:23Speaker 1: let it that out, you know. And but you do
- 15:26Speaker 1: need to have a conversation with your wife about boundaries. Okay,
- 15:30Speaker 1: that's just some professional advice to you. Go ahead, last question,
- 15:37Speaker 1: excuse me question. No, we decide when the interview is over.
- 15:43Speaker 1: You're invited me on your show. You asked me to
- 15:46Speaker 1: be a guest. You said to me, hey, will you
- 15:48Speaker 1: come on my show? I say yes. Listen. They don't
- 15:52Speaker 1: call me the Scottish Killer for nothing, not even Scott
- 15:55Speaker 1: not even is the waste? I want to Sammy doing
- 16:02Speaker 1: this kind of bullshit here? You know who? You remind
- 16:05Speaker 1: me of waste of my movie? What was that movie? Tony?
- 16:08Speaker 1: I said it was the worst movie I've ever seen?
- 16:10Speaker 1: What was that? Train Spotting? You remind me of train spotting?
- 16:13Speaker 1: You are sitting with you jas, sitting for Willie Billy
- 16:21Speaker 1: wherever your name is. I don't know who you are.
- 16:25Speaker 1: I don't know who you are. Okay, bray hot, Okay,
- 16:30Speaker 1: that's just get out of here. You call yourself I enjoy.
- 16:34Speaker 1: You call yourself the enjoy. You're Ian misery because gets
- 16:38Speaker 1: you're at this show. I guess network more like no
- 16:42Speaker 1: that work. Tell your wife say thank you for interrupting
- 16:46Speaker 1: the interview because we wanted it to be over. Tell
- 16:48Speaker 1: us us good luck. Guys. You're going absolutely fucking nowhere.
- 16:55Speaker 1: Fuck you. Oh he's walking away. Hang whim whimp. Jack
- 17:00Speaker 1: didn't take the heat. I couldn't take the heat. Oh
- 17:02Speaker 1: now he's flicking off the camera. People. This guy is
- 17:07Speaker 1: has no professionalism. Jake, can you hang up a phone?
- 17:11Speaker 1: You know we got so caught up. I forgot to
- 17:13Speaker 1: ask him the question, why is there a real Madrid.
- 17:17Speaker 1: Is there some sort of fake Madrid doesn't make any sense.
- 17:20Speaker 1: We'll never know the answer forgot, but he got so
- 17:23Speaker 1: rude that we got swept up. You know. We can't
- 17:26Speaker 1: let that get to us because you know, we always
- 17:29Speaker 1: have big business to do at this time of the show.
- 17:32Speaker 1: And we got a new sponsor on board, people a
- 17:35Speaker 1: big name in the area of mobile entertainment. Of course,
- 17:40Speaker 1: I'm talking about the great app to buy. Are you
- 17:45Speaker 1: looking for movies from the eighties and nineties that you
- 17:47Speaker 1: just can't find anywhere because at the time of their
- 17:50Speaker 1: release they were disliked by many people and considered total
- 17:54Speaker 1: commercial failures. Well, good news because they've all found a
- 17:58Speaker 1: new home on the rate app known as dulbi. Yeah,
- 18:03Speaker 1: of course, I'm talking about great movies such as Little
- 18:06Speaker 1: Man featuring Sean Wains and Marlin Waans Little Man, Big Lads,
- 18:13Speaker 1: do you remember the Oscar winning movie Traffic, Well, there's
- 18:17Speaker 1: also another movie called Traffic, except with a K and
- 18:21Speaker 1: it stars Paula Patton and Omar Epps. Yeah. I was
- 18:25Speaker 1: watching the other Traffic recently and thought to myself, this
- 18:29Speaker 1: movie would be so much better if there were much
- 18:32Speaker 1: less famous people in it. Another one Tony. You know,
- 18:36Speaker 1: Bruce Willis has made so many terrific films through the years,
- 18:41Speaker 1: but at the top of the list you gotta put
- 18:43Speaker 1: at least in the top five the film Marauders starring
- 18:48Speaker 1: Bruce Willis, Christopher Maloney, Uh, Adrian Grenier of course, and
- 18:55Speaker 1: Jonathan shake of you know that thing you do fame.
- 18:58Speaker 1: You know, if that doesn't get you excited for this film,
- 19:03Speaker 1: you might want to check your blood pressure because you're
- 19:06Speaker 1: probably dead to buy. All right, Well that wraps up
- 19:12Speaker 1: our advertisement to no, look at that. That wraps up
- 19:14Speaker 1: the show. So you know, we're not gonna thank Ian
- 19:17Speaker 1: Joy no way. And oh I thought we were going
- 19:22Speaker 1: to make it out of it. Yeah yeah, if it isn't,
