- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: The liberal globalist order is on its brink and awakening a new conservative age.
- 0:06[SPEAKER_00]: Dr. Steve Turley, join me every day as we discover answers to today's toughest challenges and explore the re-bondalization of conservative civilization.
- 0:18[SPEAKER_00]: This is Turley Talks.
- 0:21[SPEAKER_00]: Portugal just crossed the line, but the real bombshell is who helped make it happen.
- 0:26[SPEAKER_00]: The country once held up as proof that Europe's populist revolt could be stopped has now enacted the very kind of policy that revolt demanded.
- 0:35[SPEAKER_00]: And the signature on that law is not the one you'd expect, but Portugal's only just the beginning, because elsewhere in Europe and even bigger political reversals unfolding.
- 0:46[SPEAKER_00]: what happens when the politicians elected to stop a movement, start delivering it to gender instead?
- 0:52[SPEAKER_00]: That's exactly what we're about to find out.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, gang, it's me, Dr. Steve, or a pageant professor here to help you make sense of the madness with breaking news and analysis.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_00]: You're not going to get anywhere else.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_00]: You know what to do?
- 1:04[SPEAKER_00]: Make sure to smack that bell and subscribe button.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_00]: Something astonishing is happening
- 1:15[SPEAKER_00]: have officially become mainstream within European politics.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_00]: Now, what we have to understand here is that Portugal was long touted by the elites in the EU.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_00]: As immune to the civilizational populist surged throughout the continent.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_00]: So as you know, populist right parties in Europe have grown by over 400% in the last decade.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_00]: And they've even taken over a number of governments throughout Europe from Italy to the Netherlands, from Austria to Hungary, from Poland to the Czech Republic, the populous right continues to reshape European politics like never before.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_00]: And yet one country for years appeared stubbornly immune from that right-wing dynamic, and that's Portugal, and that is until now.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_00]: The newly formed Chega Party has been searching of late.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_00]: This anti-immigration party has gone from one parliamentary seat in 2019 to 60 in 2025, becoming Portugal's main opposition party in less than six years.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_00]: Its national vote share rose from approximately 1% to an astonishing
- 2:23[SPEAKER_00]: 23% and almost 18 fold increase in a matter of just five years, very similar to the pattern that we've been seeing throughout the continent.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_00]: Now, their political influence throughout Portuguese politics has become undeniable.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_00]: Portugal has just become yet the latest European nation to ban the burqah in all public places.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_00]: The new law prohibits clothing intended to conceal or obstruct the face and public covers, streets and places open to the public public services and participation and events and demonstrations.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_00]: Negligent violations carry fines between 150 to 750 euros.
- 3:05[SPEAKER_00]: Intentional violations range from 400 to 3000.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_00]: But here's another provision that deserves attention.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_00]: The law also addresses people who force somebody else to cover their face, very interesting.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_00]: So under the criminal provision, using threats, violence, coercion or abuse of authority to compel face concealment because of the victim's gender, can mean up to two years in prison or criminal find.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_00]: the penalty increases by a third when the victim is a minor, so it's a very comprehensive law and it's clearly designed to push back against one of the key public symbols of Islamification in Europe.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously this is not a law that extends to say health professionals, or you know wearing masks, right, or artistic entertainment, advertising, security, weather-related reasons.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_00]: All of those can justify covering your face.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_00]: No, this is
- 4:04[SPEAKER_00]: That is deliberately authored against a cultural practice of one particular religion whose growing influence has become such a concern for so many in Europe, but that's not the real bombshell here.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_00]: To see how remarkable this is, you have to understand who actually passed this law.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_00]: So in May of 2025, the populous right Chega Party, one 60 parliamentary seats and became Portugal's main opposition party overtaking the socialist.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_00]: Then, in February of this year, the center left Antonio Seguro won the presidency and the bill that had banned face coverings that had been put forward by Chega appeared to be in limbo.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_00]: but astonishingly in June, to the, again, to the amazement, to the horror of leftists everywhere, the governing social democrats in Portugal proposed replacing the language in that bill that emphasis at the time emphasized the religious significance of the ban, banning the burka.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_00]: The center left wanted to change the language in such a way that emphasize more security and identification and your women's rights in the like rather than the original religious framing.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_00]: a compromise emerged, and the final measure passed in July was support from Chega and other parties on the right, despite opposition from the more far left-wing parties, and President Seguro signed it into law in August, a center left president.
- 5:49[SPEAKER_00]: and he justified signing what is in effect a far-right burka ban by explaining his decisions through the frame of social integration, gender equality, security, and the importance of recognizing individual rights and blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_00]: International Leftist organizations like Amnesty International, they were besides themselves.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_00]: They could not fathom how was possible
- 6:17[SPEAKER_00]: to sign in the law one of the single most restrictive burka bands on the continent.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_00]: But what really shocked them was the undeniable political takeaway in all of this.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_00]: They realized, leftists realized to their horror that the political left in Portugal was refraining right-wing policies and leftist terms all the while enacting those very policies.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_00]: This is perhaps the most stunning development of late European politics.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_00]: The right has won the substance, while the left has shall we say won the framing.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_00]: The center left is enacting so-called far-right policy under the guise of supposed leftist values like women's rights and equalities.
- 7:12[SPEAKER_00]: And what the international left is freaking out over is that they're realizing that it's their own governments who are now enacting far right policy.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_00]: And as such, they are ensuring the so-called far right is going full-mainstream, even in the very country that was supposed to be immune from the far right.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_00]: But as it turns out, Portugal is where this nightmare for the European left only begins.
- 7:36[SPEAKER_00]: Wait, until you see this.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_00]: Most people don't know this, but the older we get, the less we hold on to heat.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_00]: So imagine being stranded in a broken down car in the middle of the night and having a walk for help, a rainstorm, even in the summer could mean hypothermia.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_00]: Having this tiny orange bag in your glove box could be the difference between life and death for you or your loved one.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_00]: everyone always wants to know, what the heck is this?
- 8:06[SPEAKER_00]: What is in this tiny orange bag that could protect me and my family from hypothermia in a situation like that?
- 8:13[SPEAKER_00]: I kid you not, this is a full-size heat reflective emergency sleeping bag that actually fits in the palm of your hand.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_00]: I've literally never seen anything like this.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_00]: It's absolutely amazing and you heard that right.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_00]: It's an emergency thermal sleeping bag that can keep you warm down to Arctic temperatures.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_00]: It's waterproof, it's windproof, and bright orange so you're easy to spot in a disaster.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_00]: Emergency experts recommend having one of these on hand for every member in your family.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_00]: It's a no-brainer survival tool that gives your loved ones a real edge in a disaster and you piece of mind knowing that there's a safety net for them in a crisis.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_00]: You won't find these in any stores, the technology that goes into these smart little bags isn't wildly available.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_00]: Sierra Modra created this emergency sleeping bag to be small enough to fit in your pocket, your glove box, your junk drawer, your go bag.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_00]: They weigh 10 times less than a typical sleeping bag,
- 9:16[SPEAKER_00]: three feet wide, so they'll fit anyone.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_00]: Now, a typical sleeping bag crossed you up around 200 bucks, but even though these are more technologically advanced and more compact, you're gonna spend a fraction of that to get your hands on one of these today, because this week, Sierra Mondrae has to clean out their warehouse before a new shipment arrived.
- 9:37[SPEAKER_00]: So, they're giving everyone a chance to stock up on Sierra Mondrae's emergency sleeping bag

- 9:51[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, and oh, I almost forgot the 10 pack ships free doubling up your savings So like I said before gang these aren't available in any stores or big box retailers and the only place who can get this warehouse clean out deal is if you click the link below click that link

- 10:17[SPEAKER_00]: Click on that link below right now.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_00]: It's not just Portugal's left enacting populace right policies.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_00]: Denmark's left-wing prime minister, Meta Fredrickson, recently announced that Denmark is extending its existing public burka band
- 10:33[SPEAKER_00]: to every educational institution in the country, every classroom, every university, lecture hall, every school corridor, you want to attend a Danish school, you want to go to school in Denmark, you got to follow Danish rules, no exceptions, no religious exceptions, no negotiating with a parallel legal framework.
- 10:54[SPEAKER_00]: And if you think that was controversial, brace yourself because Denmark also created, I kid you not a national sanctions list.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_00]: This is a formal government maintained catalog of foreign religious preachers who are banned from entering the country for promoting values incompatible with Danish law.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_00]: So we're not talking about criminals here.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_00]: We're talking about e-moms.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_00]: We're talking about Islamic scholars, clerics, anyone whose religious instruction crosses the line into what Denmark considers the political enforcement arm of a foreign ideology operating on Danish soil.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_00]: So that's not an immigration policy.
- 11:34[SPEAKER_00]: That's the declaration of civilization
- 11:42[SPEAKER_00]: A silent applications that peaked in over 21,000 in 2015 fell below a thousand in all of 2025.
- 11:49[SPEAKER_00]: The so-called far-right Danish people's party, which once pulled at 21% on the strength that this exact issue has actually collapsed.
- 12:00[SPEAKER_00]: to just 4.4% support.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_00]: Not because Denmark rejected their policies, but precisely because ironically, the mainstream left implemented them first.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_00]: Their prime minister, again, this leftist met the Frederickson, she didn't just steal the populous rights agenda, she executed it better than the so-called far-right ever did.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_00]: and won three consecutive elections and wrote doing it.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_00]: And in doing so, she's signaled a massive shift, indeed nothing less than a tectonic earthquake in European politics.
- 12:34[SPEAKER_00]: It's a realignment that's already changing everything.
- 12:38[SPEAKER_00]: You see, for decades, the left insisted that confronting political Islam was by definition a right-wing project.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_00]: that calling out parallel Islamic societies was a dog whistle for racism and xenophobia that banning the veil was an attack on Muslim women.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_00]: I kid you not.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_00]: But what's happening in Portugal and Denmark and other countries in Europe has proved every single one of those arguments wrong.
- 13:06[SPEAKER_00]: Using a left-wing government, left-wing rhetoric, and left-wing policy machinery.
- 13:12[SPEAKER_00]: And the heart of this paradigm shift for the left is nothing less, again, ironically, than the protection of their own welfare states.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_00]: So simply put, leaders in Portugal and Denmark are realizing that they can have open borders, or they can have a welfare state, but they can't have both.
- 13:34[SPEAKER_00]: It's very similar to the rhetoric that we see coming from the far left delinca party in Eastern Germany.
- 13:39[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, they're little of the political descendants of the East German Communist Party, but their political platform calls for radical pro-border enforcement precisely as a means of keeping their own welfare state solvent.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_00]: So while the right is pushing back against immigration by appealing to culture, the left is pushing back by appealing to the economy, particularly the welfare state.
- 14:03[SPEAKER_00]: But the key here is what?
- 14:05[SPEAKER_00]: both the left and the right are pushing back against immigration.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_00]: Both the left and the right in Europe are pushing back increasingly against immigration.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_00]: The political realignment, what was once considered far right is now completely and totally mainstream.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_00]: And that gang is, I believe the civilization lesson that the rest of the West needs to hear right now.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_00]: The questions not whether to confront the Islamic parallel societies, the political ideology operating behind the shield of religious language, the systematic pressure to replace, you know, Portuguese, Danish, or British, or German, or even American for that matter, norms was something else entirely.
- 14:48[SPEAKER_00]: The question bottom line is whether your political class both left and right have the spine to do it.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_00]: Portugal found the spine, Denmark found the spine and increasing number of European nations arising up and saying, in effect, enough, which ironically is exactly what Chega means in Portuguese.
- 15:08[SPEAKER_00]: Enough.
- 15:09[SPEAKER_00]: Because enough is more than a party name.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_00]: It's what citizens say when they're tired of watching their leaders negotiate away the nation and indeed the continent they were elected to defend.
- 15:21[SPEAKER_00]: It appears that message is being heard loud and clear by an increasing number of Europe's politicians, even those on the left.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_00]: And when the left shifts, Europe is a whole, will never be the same.
