- 0:01Exodus chapter 13. Let us pray, our Father, who is
- 0:07in heaven, holy is your name, your Kingdom come, and your will
- 0:14be done here on this earth, just as it is there in heaven.
- 0:19Give us this day Our Daily Bread.
- 0:22Forgive us for our sins as we forgive those who sin against
- 0:28us. Lead us not into temptation,
- 0:32God, but deliver us from the evil one.
- 0:36For yours is the Kingdom and the power and the glory and the
- 0:39honor, forever and ever worthy to be praised.
- 0:43King Jesus, our Lord and our God and our King.
- 0:47We love you, Father. We love your eyes like fire and
- 0:51hair like wool. The voice of the many
- 0:53multitudes, the rainbow above your throne, the sea of glass
- 0:58mingled with fire, thunders and lightnings.
- 1:03The four living creatures covering their eyes.
- 1:06God eyes all over their wings. Father, I pray that you will
- 1:11touch us with the coal, Lord. Cleanse us Father, I pray, Lord,
- 1:16that we will be able to see you high and lift it up.
- 1:21We look upon the brazen serpent upon the pole.
- 1:24God, we receive salvation today. God in the mighty name of Jesus,
- 1:32gird up our loin so we can stand in your presence.
- 1:36Father, we only want you. We only want more of you.
- 1:39We desire a touch from you. We love you, Father.
- 1:47Give us our marching orders for today.
- 1:51Help us to know what it is that we are to do.
- 1:54Help us to know that you are near, Lord, that you are here.
- 2:01Help us to know, Father, that you're fighting our battles.
- 2:05Help us to have a deeper intimacy with you.
- 2:09Give us a spiritual appetite for your Word.
- 2:13God, I pray for you to heal diseases and restore
- 2:19relationships. God, I pray for the prodigal to
- 2:24come home. I pray for you to soften the
- 2:26heart of the parent. God, I pray for you to turn
- 2:31things around. God, I pray that you'll
- 2:35miraculously break out God where miracles need to happen.
- 2:39Father, I pray you feed those that are hungry, clothe those
- 2:44that are naked. God, give those a cup of water,
- 2:48Father, and use us. We thank you that we are plan A.
- 2:53We thank you, God that you have made us into ministers of
- 2:57reconciliation, a royal priesthood.
- 3:00Father, I pray that we can step into the office and do the work
- 3:04of an evangelist. God.
- 3:06I pray that you'll actually fuel us, Lord.
- 3:09Not just tongue in cheek and word, but in action.
- 3:12God, we love you indeed, Father, we love you in everything that
- 3:18we say and everything that we do.
- 3:20Let them all measure up God and align with each other.
- 3:23God, not just vain, empty, jangling God, not just a
- 3:28clanging cymbal God, but love without limits, Lord, forever
- 3:34and ever. God, we love you.
- 3:36King Jesus, help us to be the Good Samaritan.
- 3:39Help us to actually work, Father.
- 3:43Help us to not just sit on our blessed assurance, but God to
- 3:48actually get in to the firefight, get in to the game,
- 3:53get in Father, and to be found out in the harvest.
- 3:58We love you, King Jesus. It's in your holy and precious
- 4:02and powerful name that I pray. Amen.
- 4:06Well, let's start in verse one. And the Lord spoke unto Moses,
- 4:13saying, sanctify to me all the first born whatsoever opens the
- 4:19womb among the children of Israel, both of man and of
- 4:23beasts. It is mine.
- 4:25So here's what you need to know. This is in the stark contrast to
- 4:30what just happened in Egypt with the slaying of all the first
- 4:35born of the Egyptians. And now here the Israelites are
- 4:39being LED out of Egypt and into the wilderness and God at the
- 4:43forefront. At the very beginning he starts
- 4:46to show them how to be set apart unto Him, and he's saying that
- 4:51all the first born belonged to him.
- 4:55And you need to know here that God is over the entirety, not
- 5:02just the first fruits, not just the first born.
- 5:05He's over the entire population, over the entire amount of money.
- 5:11He's over the entire population of animals, but you need to know
- 5:18that there is something that is special and symbolic unto Him
- 5:22when we offer the very first, the best.
- 5:25And if you go back and you study the beginning of Genesis and you
- 5:29see why did God accept Abel and not accept Cain?
- 5:34And it is because you'll find that Abel brought the first
- 5:38fruits in the best of the best. He did not go and squander 90%
- 5:46and then come and bring 10%. He actually brought in the very
- 5:51first and that is what pleases God even to this day.
- 5:56And you can see here that He wants us to give Him the best.
- 6:02The first verse. 2 Sanctify unto me the first born.
- 6:09Whatsoever opens the womb among the children of Israel, both of
- 6:13man and beast, it is mine. 3 And Moses said unto the people,
- 6:18Remember this day in which you came out from Egypt out of the
- 6:22House of bondage, for by strength of hand the Lord
- 6:27brought you out from this place. There shall no leavened bread be
- 6:31eaten. So we know that the yeast gets
- 6:34in and works in the dough, and rises the entire lump.
- 6:38And we know that the leaven is synonymous with sin.
- 6:42And we also know that it is symbolic of whenever they had to
- 6:46leave Egypt in haste. And it was a time of
- 6:49remembrance, friends. Verse 4, This day you came out
- 6:54in the month. I'll be 5 And it shall be when
- 6:58the Lord shall bring you into the land of the Canaanites and
- 7:02the Hittites and the Amorites, the Hivites and the Jebusites,
- 7:06which he swore unto your father's to give you a land
- 7:10blowing with milk and honey. And you shall keep this service
- 7:14in this month. So all of this was a memorial,
- 7:17friends, and they were looking back at the time when God
- 7:22rescued them from the hand of Pharaoh and the plagues in the
- 7:25land, friends, and all the things that the Israelites would
- 7:29have been a part of. And this was for a perpetual
- 7:33memorial unto God and the power of God and the love that He had
- 7:38for the Jews. And He still has that same love
- 7:41for the Jews. And it does not mean that they
- 7:44are excused from all of the wicked things that they might
- 7:48do. It just means that God has a
- 7:52peculiar love for the Hebrews and for the Jews, and He has a
- 7:56peculiar promise, and they will make it all the way in the end.
- 8:01There's nothing you can do about it, friends. 6-7 days you shall
- 8:08eat unleavened bread, and in the 7th day shall be a feast to the
- 8:13Lord. 7 unleavened bread shall be eaten. 7 days and there shall
- 8:17no leavened bread be seen with you, neither shall there'd be
- 8:21leaven seen with you in all your quarters.
- 8:25So in the entire house, in the entire land, they needed to get
- 8:29rid of all of the yeast, all of the leaven.
- 8:33They needed to get rid of it, friends, so that whenever they
- 8:37were in this feast, there would be no yeast found during this
- 8:43time. Eight, you shall show your son
- 8:49in that day, saying, This is done because of that which the
- 8:53Lord did unto me when I came forth out of Egypt.
- 8:57God is a God of perpetual blessings, of generations after
- 9:01generations after generations, friends, and you need to know
- 9:05that that we can pass on these blessings and the prayers of the
- 9:11Saints. Friends, this is pleasing aroma
- 9:15unto God and we should be seen teaching our kids on the road,
- 9:19teaching our kids everywhere that we go, while we're driving
- 9:23down the road, while we are sitting in a restaurant, while
- 9:27we are sitting at the dinner table, while we're everywhere.
- 9:31Friends, we teach our children about Yahweh everlasting. 9 And
- 9:44it shall be for a son unto you upon your hand, and for a
- 9:48memorial between your eyes, that the Lord's law may be in your
- 9:53mouth. For with a strong hand has the
- 9:56Lord brought you out of Egypt. So we write it on our foreheads,
- 10:02and write it on our hands. Let it forever be in our mouths
- 10:06that God is omnipotent. He is all powerful, He is all
- 10:12knowing and He is ever present and He is our help in the time
- 10:16of need. He's the strong tower that we
- 10:18run into. He is where our help comes from.
- 10:21He is life and He is salvation and no one comes unto him except
- 10:27through the Lord Jesus Christ. Never let it leave your mouth.
- 10:31Tell the good news everywhere that you go, everywhere that
- 10:35your foot gets planted. Friends, we share the love of
- 10:39God with every single man and woman and child that we come
- 10:44across, regardless of nationality or creed.
- 10:47We share that the same hope that we possess is available to them.
- 11:0010 You shall therefore keep this ordinance in his season from
- 11:04year to year. 11 And it shall be when the Lord shall bring you
- 11:09into the land of the Canaanites, as He swore unto you and unto
- 11:13your Father's, and shall give it you.
- 11:16So here you need to understand that the sin of the Canaanites
- 11:22had reached its height. It was a festering boil and God
- 11:27knew that it was ripe. And it was time for the
- 11:31Israelites to go in and to take the land that God had swore unto
- 11:37Abraham and Isaac and Jacob. He told them that He would give
- 11:41them the entirety of the land. And that promise is still viable
- 11:46today. Friends. 12 that you shall set
- 11:53apart unto the Lord all that opens the matrix.
- 11:57And every first thing that comes of a beast which you have, the
- 12:01males shall be the Lord. So the very first ones are the
- 12:05Lords, and He deserves them, Friends.
- 12:09We give him our first fruits, we give him our very best.
- 12:14The first part. 13 And every first thing of an ice you shall
- 12:21redeem with the Lamb, And if you will not redeem it, then you
- 12:25shall break its neck. And all the first born of a man
- 12:28among your children you shall redeem.
- 12:31So here's what you need to know. If it was an unclean animal, it
- 12:34needed to be redeemed with a clean animal.
- 12:37And that's our story, friends. We were the unclean.
- 12:40We are the unnatural. We are the Gentiles.
- 12:43And we are just redeemed by the blood of the Messiah.
- 12:48This Jewish man, fully man and fully God, who came and offered
- 12:52his life as a ransom for many and the sins of the world,
- 12:56forgiven because of the love of Jesus Christ and the obedience
- 13:01to the Father even unto death. And now we have the down payment
- 13:05of the Holy Spirit living inside of us.
- 13:08Friends, we have been redeemed. And you need to know that in the
- 13:12connection and connotation all the way back here in the 13th
- 13:17chapter of Exodus, He is showing unto Moses that if it is a
- 13:22human, they are to be redeemed with money, and if they are
- 13:26unclean, then they are to be redeemed with a clean animal. 14
- 13:34And it shall be when the Son asks you in time to come,
- 13:39saying, What is this that you shall say unto him?
- 13:43By strength of hand? The Lord brought us out from
- 13:49Egypt, from the House of bondage.
- 13:52You were once in bondage, friends.
- 13:55You were once a slave unto sin, and now we are bond servants
- 14:00unto our Lord Jesus Christ. We are slaves to God to do
- 14:05whatever He asks us to do, and we willfully put ourselves into
- 14:10the service. Friends, you will be a slave
- 14:13unto one thing or another. Switch your obedience, switch
- 14:19your bondage unto God, and we will be compelled to do what it
- 14:27is that God asks us to do. Friends, it will be a natural
- 14:32overflow of the love that God has showered on us.
- 14:37We can't help but to do the work that He's asked us to do. 15 And
- 14:42it came to pass, when Pharaoh would hardly let us go, that the
- 14:47Lord slew all the first born in the land of Egypt.
- 14:51Both the first born of man and the first born of beast.
- 14:55Therefore I sacrifice to the Lord all that opens the matrix
- 15:00being males, but all the first born of my children I redeem.
- 15:05So that's what you need to know is that if it was the first born
- 15:10of the clean animals, then they were to be given unto the Lord
- 15:15and sacrifice. If they were the first born of
- 15:18the unclean animals, then he was to take a clean animal and
- 15:23sacrifice it unto the Lord. But if it was the first born out
- 15:27of the children of Israel, then he was to redeem him with money.
- 15:3416 And that shall be for a token upon your hand, and for
- 15:38frontlets between your eyes. For by strength of hand the Lord
- 15:43brought us forth out of Egypt. And it's just like, friends,
- 15:48whenever we finally get attached to Yahweh everlasting, He puts
- 15:54his name upon us, friends. And that is what the Book of
- 15:57Revelation tells us, that He's going to give us a new name.
- 16:02But you need to know there's a counterfeit that's coming with
- 16:05the Antichrist. And you need to know that he's
- 16:07going to try to put the mark on you.
- 16:10And you need to be aware of it. You need to know that only God
- 16:14is the one who can write the new name upon you.
- 16:18It is not something that we take in order to buy and sell.
- 16:23Far be it from us to receive the mark of the beast.
- 16:29And you also need to know that the Jews started a tradition of
- 16:33the phylacteries that Jesus Christ denounced and told them
- 16:38that they should not do with the leather boxes that they tied
- 16:42around their hands and on their foreheads.
- 16:46We keep it written upon our hearts and written upon our
- 16:50minds, and we meditate upon it, and we keep it in our mouth,
- 16:54friends. 17 And it came to pass when Pharaoh let us, when
- 17:02Pharaoh had let the people go, that God LED them not through
- 17:06the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was
- 17:10near, for God said, lest her adventure.
- 17:14The people repent when they see war and they return to Egypt.
- 17:18So God didn't want to lead them up through the hostile territory
- 17:22of the Philistines. They weren't ready for war, and
- 17:25had they encountered war, they would have turned around and
- 17:28went back to Egypt. 18 But God led the people about through the
- 17:34way of the wilderness of the Red Sea, and the children of Israel
- 17:38went up, harnessed out of the land of Egypt.
- 17:41So God was leading them on a long 40 year journey that
- 17:46they're going to take, which should have taken no more than
- 17:50two or three weeks to get into the promised land is going to
- 17:53take them 40 years, because God has to develop them. 19 And
- 17:59Moses took the bones of Joseph with him, for he had straightly
- 18:04sworn the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit
- 18:09you, and you shall carry up my bones from here with you.
- 18:15So Joseph knew because he was a man that was connected with God,
- 18:20he knew that God would because of the promise that he had given
- 18:25to Abraham in Genesis chapter 15.
- 18:30Joseph knew that God would visit them again and lead them out of
- 18:35Egypt and Egypt would not be their perpetual home forever.
- 18:39That they were promised Canaan. And that is where they're going,
- 18:44and that is where they are today. 20 And they took their
- 18:51journey from sukka and encamped in in the edge of the
- 18:55wilderness. So here they're leaving Egypt
- 18:59and they're going up, and they're going into this place of
- 19:05Etham 21 And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar
- 19:13of cloud to lead them the way, and by night in a pillar of fire
- 19:18to give them light to go by day and night.
- 19:22So can you even imagine the Shekinah glory of God
- 19:26manifesting itself at night in this pillar of fire that shows
- 19:31them where to go? If they look ahead, they see
- 19:35this pillar of fire and they know where to go.
- 19:38And it would provide light at night and warmth and then this
- 19:43cloud by day which would shade them so that they would not
- 19:47become sunburnt and tired and weary.
- 19:50It was a refreshing coolness in the day.
- 19:54And God would lead them by this cloud, friends.
- 19:58Imagine the power of God, the might of God, the knowledge of
- 20:03God, that he would love his people so much and protect them,
- 20:08and he would keep them and he would bring them in, friends.
- 20:13And he's still doing the same today.
- 20:15Miracles breaking out for the Jews.
- 20:18Miracles breaking out for the Israelites.
- 20:21Divine protection upon that land still to this very day.
- 20:28Well then, down 22 He took not away the pillar of the cloud by
- 20:32day, nor the pillar of the fire by night from before the people.
- 20:39God loves long and God loves well, and God keeps us even in
- 20:45our disobedience. What an amazing thought.
- 20:49You can't outlive God. You can't outlast God.
- 20:53His love is boundless, He forgives to the utmost, and He
- 21:02initiated salvation. We didn't even beg for it or ask
- 21:06for it. God drew us unto himself.
- 21:10Thank God that we had enough mental fortitude and wherewithal
- 21:15to surrender unto a holy God and to experience the love of God,
- 21:21and for the blinders to fall off and for the ears to get
- 21:25unstopped. And now we can see.
- 21:27We were once blind, we were once deaf, now we can hear.
- 21:32Friends, this is the Amazing Grace of God, that God chose us
- 21:39before the foundations of the earth and He's leading us home.
- 21:44We need to get out of our own way, and we need to surrender
- 21:48unto Him and quit operating out of our own intellect.
- 21:53What does the Bible say? That's the real question.
- 21:57Let every man be a liar. But God's word is truth.
- 22:01Jesus Christ is truth. We lean heavily on the counsel
- 22:07of the Word of God from beginning to end, but it's
- 22:11ignorance of the Word of God that's plaguing this world.
- 22:15We need to know God's Word, and there's so many people that want
- 22:18to try to fast track it. They want to watch videos, they
- 22:22want to listen to sermons. They want to ride off of
- 22:25somebody else's coattails. They don't want to put the work
- 22:28in, friends. And I'm thankful that you're
- 22:32here. I'm thankful that you are locked
- 22:34in. I'm thankful that you're eating
- 22:36and munching. You're digesting and meditating
- 22:40upon God's Word. It is the only thing that's
- 22:43going to lead us home and to keep us from the counterfeit
- 22:46that is so easily trying to entangle so many people and
- 22:52getting them to trip up and to choose the lesser.
- 22:59Get in the word of God, Own the word of God, learn the word of
- 23:03God, hide the word of God. It is the word of God that we
- 23:07are in desperate need for. And I'm thankful that you're
- 23:11here. Hope you've been blessed by this
- 23:14amazing chapter in God's Word. I know I sure have.
- 23:17I'm praying for every single one of you.
- 23:20I love you. We'll see you back here
- 23:22tomorrow. God bless you.
