- Lucas: Hey everyone. Welcome back to Learn Norwegian with Fexingo. I am Lucas. Luna: And I am Luna. Hi! It is episode two fifty. That feels like a big milestone. Lucas: It really is. We have covered so much together. From basic greetings to complex verbs. And we are still going strong thanks to you. Luna: Yeah. It has been amazing. Today we are doing something different. Something more physical. Lucas: Exactly. In the last few episodes, we talked about seeing, hearing, thinking, and standing. Now let us move our bodies. Luna: Oh, I love this idea. Are we running today? Or flying? Lucas: We touched on flying and hurrying in episode two forty five. Today we focus on two very specific actions. Climbing and swimming. Luna: Climbing and swimming. Okay. I can do that. Let us start with climbing. Lucas: Right. The verb is å klatre. It means to climb. Like climbing a rock wall or a tree. Luna: Å klatre. Okay. Let me try that. Å klatre. Lucas: Perfect. Very clear. Now let us make it a sentence. I climb. Luna: I climb. Jeg klatrer. Lucas: Yes. Jeg klatrer. Notice the ending. -er. It is the standard present tense ending for many verbs. Luna: Got it. Jeg klatrer. It feels good to say. Like I am actually doing it. Lucas: That is the spirit. Now imagine someone else is climbing. You climb. Luna: You climb. Du klatrer. Lucas: Exactly. Du klatrer. And if they are climbing quickly, we can add an adverb. Fast. Luna: Fast is fort. So, du klatrer fort. Lucas: Spot on. Du klatrer fort. You climb fast. Can you repeat that whole phrase slowly? Luna: Du klatrer fort. Yeah. That sounds energetic. I like it. Lucas: Me too. It paints a picture. Okay. Now let us switch from rocks to water. Luna: Water. Swimming. Oh, I am ready for this one. Lucas: The verb is å svømme. It means to swim. It has that double m sound. Very smooth. Luna: Å svømme. Let me try. Å svømme. Lucas: Good. Nice and fluid. Just like swimming. Now, I swim. Luna: I swim. Jeg svømmer. Lucas: Jeg svømmer. Again with the -er ending. It is consistent. It makes learning easier. Luna: It really does. Jeg svømmer. It feels natural coming out of my mouth. Lucas: Let us build a bigger scene. We swim in the fjord. Fjord is a fun word, right? Luna: Fjord. Yes. Everyone knows fjords. So, vi svømmer i fjorden. Lucas: Vi svømmer i fjorden. Perfect. You added the definite article correctly. In the fjord. Luna: Vi svømmer i fjorden. I can picture it now. Cold water, beautiful scenery. Lucas: It is refreshing. Literally. But wait. Before we go deeper into our imaginary swim, I want to check in with you. Luna: Yeah. How is the learning going for you? Lucas: If Fexingo has been helping you make actual progress with this language, and you want to support the show, there is a small way to do it. Luna: Like buying us a coffee? Lucas: Exactly. If today was worth a coffee to you, that is the link. Buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo. Luna: It keeps the episodes ad-free and helps us keep making these tiny lessons. Thanks for listening. Lucas: Okay. Back to the water. Let us combine what we just learned. Imagine a friend asking you about your weekend. Luna: What did you do? What were you doing? Lucas: Right. You could say, I climbed and I swam. Luna: Jeg klatret og jeg svømmet? No, wait. Those are past tense. We are doing present. Lucas: Good catch. We are sticking to present tense for now. So, I climb and I swim. Luna: Jeg klatrer og jeg svømmer. Lucas: Jeg klatrer og jeg svømmer. Simple. Clear. Effective. Let us practice the rhythm. Luna: Jeg klatrer. Jeg svømmer. Jeg klatrer. Jeg svømmer. Lucas: Excellent. You are getting the hang of these endings. Do you feel confident saying them? Luna: I feel pretty good. Du klatrer fort. Jeg svømmer i fjorden. It flows well. Lucas: It does. Remember, repetition is key. Say these phrases when you are walking, or even when you are stretching. Luna: I will try that. Maybe I will pretend to climb my stairs at home. Lucas: I mean, oh! Good luck with that. Stay safe while practicing your climbing! Luna: Oh no. Did I slip? Just kidding. I am fine. Phew. Lucas: You are trouble. But good trouble. Let us review the main phrases one more time. Luna: Okay. Let us go. To climb. Lucas: Å klatre. Luna: I climb. Lucas: Jeg klatrer. Luna: You climb fast. Lucas: Du klatrer fort. Luna: To swim. Lucas: Å svømme. Luna: I swim. Lucas: Jeg svømmer. Luna: We swim in the fjord. Lucas: Vi svømmer i fjorden. Luna: Those are solid. I think I remember them all. Lucas: I know you do. You are doing great. Keep practicing these verbs. Luna: Thanks, Lucas. This was fun. I feel energized already. Lucas: Glad to hear it. See you next time. Practice till we chat again. Luna: Bye everyone! Ha det bra!
