- 6:22true. Thanks and appreciation, goes
- 6:23out to each and every one of my listeners and viewers and
- 6:26subscribers and patrons and everything.
- 6:29You guys are awesome. Guys and gals guys, gals
- 6:32children, opossums even, you know, Aquatic Life, insects and
- 6:41arachnids. Okay?
- 6:44The only thing that I'll exclude from the audience are like the
- 6:47mosquitoes and anything that is generally new, a general
- 6:52nuisance to humanity mosquitoes are the probably one of the top
- 6:57worse, those antics like deer ticks and dog ticks, but deer
- 7:04ticks, especially because deer ticks carry that vile disease
- 7:08known as Lyme disease of which I am a survivor in a experience
- 7:14that a my very young teenage years.
- 7:17And let me tell you something, In terms of a disease, or in
- 7:22terms of Contracting, anything Lyme disease is not fun.
- 7:28It is not the, the bee's knees, it is not the bananas pajamas or
- 7:37whatever it sucks. It just it flat-out sucks, you
- 7:41know. So if there's a long as you're
- 7:42not a tick or as long as you're not a mosquito out there
- 7:46listening then you're awesome. The rest of that the mosquitoes
- 7:51in the ticks, you know, you guys can they can die, a horrible
- 7:55death. Matter of fact that used to be
- 7:57one of my I don't want to say Hobbies, but if ever, I found a
- 8:03tick. On me.
- 8:05Because again, I used to work and live in the outdoors quite
- 8:09often. I would be out there.
- 8:10You know, cutting wood, or cutting brush lines from
- 8:13property lines, you know, cutting away all the undergrowth
- 8:16and the overgrowth and things like that working on a farm for
- 8:18a decade. You know, you're out there with
- 8:21them. And they tend to attend to make
- 8:24their themselves, they set up residence in places that you
- 8:28would rather them not IE anywhere on the human body and I
- 8:32would find one sometimes. After being out there, you know,
- 8:37doing my chores and stuff and I would remove said Critter from
- 8:41my body and I would find new and creative ways to destroy it, you
- 8:47know? I would And it was like, you
- 8:51know, how torturous can I be in? This was again, this is this is
- 8:54a no way to try and reflect like that.
- 8:57I would hurt Wildlife. You know what like that I'm
- 9:00talking about ticks specifically, these things are
- 9:04disastrous and I had a specific hatred for them.
- 9:08So, I'm like me pull this sucker out with squeezers.
- 9:10And then, let me let me cover it in Vaseline.
- 9:15And smother it. And then let me pluck its legs
- 9:17off and let me burn it with a, with the end of a needle or
- 9:22safety pin or something. I was, I was getting pretty
- 9:24creative, you know, I feel like if I had to interrogate a tick,
- 9:29For anything, then I died have all the new and greatest and
- 9:35exciting ways on on, extracting information from a tick, if that
- 9:38were a thing, but that is not a thing.
- 9:40What is a thing is today's episode, which we've got lined
- 9:45up with a very good friend of mine near and dear friend of
- 9:48mine. One whom I call it brother.
- 9:50One of the few that I call brother, we're going to get into
- 9:52some Randomness with Richard McKeon, who if you are not
- 9:55familiar was one of the guests on the three.
- 9:59Our anniversary live stream from midgard, musings, that was
- 10:03livestream weeks ago on the midgard, musings YouTube
- 10:06channel. So if you want to see here about
- 10:08more from Richard head to the show notes of this episode or
- 10:15just stick around because when we come back, we're going to
- 10:18have some Random rambling, not maybe, just maybe not even all
- 10:22Heathen related stuff. It's definitely going to be
- 10:24some, you know, random, random ramblings for sure because
- 10:30Richard is not a heathen, but he is one of the most Heathen, not
- 10:34even said I know his values. His, you know, his approach to
- 10:40life is world view, tends to kind of mirror or have some
- 10:47similarities, and things, or two things that heathens at least
- 10:52this particular even myself have adopted and he has been a part
- 10:56of our tribes rituals and he is shared and sambal ritual and all
- 11:00kinds of great things to tie weird with and establish weird
- 11:04was. So we're going to get into some
- 11:06fun random discussions. I hope you guys are excited
- 11:08about this episode. Be sure to check the show notes
- 11:12along the way or at the end of this podcast.
- 11:15For more information, I've actually done a video with
- 11:18Richard before the three-year anniversary thing that he was
- 11:24featured as a guest on. So all that information is going
- 11:26to be up in the show notes. And yeah, so you guys sit back
- 11:31and enjoy the podcast with Richard McCune and until we
- 11:36speak again, hail to you all. May your Hearth fires continue
- 11:40to burn, bright. Enjoy the podcast, we'll talk

- 13:24All right, folks and here we are on the random Heathen, ramblings
- 13:29podcast, midgard, musings. I am Jesse as I mentioned before
- 13:32and I've got joined with me as I said before my good friend, my
- 13:37brother from another mother, yeah, over there.
- 13:42Yeah, you know, and like I mentioned before, guys, check
- 13:45the foot or the show notes rather of the, of the podcast
- 13:49you'll see where Richard was not.
- 13:53Not just the part of the maid Garden using three year
- 13:58celebration livestream. You were you were rocking and
- 14:01rolling with a bunch of other cool guests on that live stream
- 14:04and then we also did a video sometime before that.
- 14:08Yeah. Yeah.
- 14:08They're just really good. And that one was fun to do it.
- 14:12Kind of kind of put my Kind of kind of I never always taught to
- 14:19by faith and my beliefs with other people and also the public
- 14:27like that. So that was kind of like a test
- 14:30of the water, just kind of sticking my foot in the cold
- 14:33water for for a minute. Yeah.
- 14:35Right. Yeah.
- 14:36Just go in there. Like jump in and see how it
- 14:39goes. Yeah.
- 14:40And I think it turned out pretty pretty good.
- 14:44I think I think it was fun and he They hopefully some people
- 14:48found it a little bit inside pool.
- 14:50And so yeah, yeah, I was down again morning.
- 14:53It got a lot of good. Yeah.
- 14:55I got a lot of good. Got a lot of good response.
- 14:58I think you know for those that listen to the podcast maybe you
- 15:00missed it on the YouTube channel.
- 15:03The link for it will be in the show notes so definitely make
- 15:06sure that you check it out because I want you guys to know
- 15:08a little bit about, you know, what the whole bit is, what the
- 15:14whole deal is with Richard. My Richards been and you know, a
- 15:17friend of mine now for gosh like, Yeah.
- 15:22Or five years. Maybe something like that.
- 15:25I mean, we met through like the head along its thing and then.
- 15:30Yeah. And then like, that was wrong
- 15:332015. And then I called think a couple
- 15:37years went by and I was not in the Band anymore and then I we
- 15:45just you lived in Murfreesboro. I didn't know that.
- 15:48Then we just sort of sort of hanging A out and and just
- 15:53became friends and and it over time, it just sort of developed
- 16:01it kind of developing his big Brotherhood, you know, between
- 16:04you and I and you know, and I'm really grateful for at all.
- 16:09Yeah. For sure man.
- 16:11Yeah, and that's the cool thing about it to like the way I The
- 16:16friendships that I've developed over the years and I don't know
- 16:18if you can find any sort of comparison to this but like you
- 16:22know, friends come and go people that you've known over the
- 16:26years, may not still be in your life.
- 16:31Now to this day, you know that you met once before and then
- 16:33there's there's those certain constants, you know, those
- 16:36people that just regardless of like you could go like me and
- 16:40you man, like I feel like you and I could go not that we ever
- 16:43would like playing it but like I feel like you and I could go
- 16:47years without talking to each other and then we'd reconnect
- 16:51and it'd be like we just pick up where we left off.
- 16:53Like that kind of connection with the human being in life is
- 16:57so rare. I have like a small handful of
- 17:00people. There is a guy that That I met
- 17:04in my youth when I was living in New York and he's from Belarus.
- 17:09Hmm. And we became very good friends
- 17:12and then we lost connection. I really lost connection but we
- 17:15never really stayed in touch for like a decade or more.
- 17:20And then come to find out like he's living back in States.
- 17:23Not only that. But he's living in Nashville now
- 17:25and we Rica and it's like, man, we just picked up where we left
- 17:28off. No, I was like it was like a
- 17:30decade and a half went by and or nearly and it was almost like we
- 17:35never stopped talking and I feel like you and I in the short time
- 17:39relatively speaking that we've gotten to know each other that
- 17:42there's a there's that level of connection you know that if
- 17:46something were to happen and we just you know each other dropped
- 17:49off the face of the map. We could read like we reconnect
- 17:52pick right back up as though nothing had happened in between
- 17:55and I feel like that's a truly rare and special.
- 17:58Special. Yeah, action.
- 18:00And and like I said, when we first met and started hanging
- 18:05out, I lived I lived in Murfreesboro at the time and you
- 18:10know and you know and you live there too.
- 18:13And and then, you know, I met my fiancé Charlie and you know, we
- 18:22live in Lebanon now, but we still hang out regularly even
- 18:25though it's not like I mean before you and I were hanging
- 18:28out. I like practically every
- 18:30weekend, he was. Yeah, like like a, like, a
- 18:32weekly thing. And even though it's not a
- 18:36weekly thing, like it used to be, it's still, you know, when
- 18:41we get together it's like we pick our robber left off, and
- 18:44it's just go and, you know, yeah, I really think it's cool
- 18:51too. Because Like, one of the things
- 18:54that if, you know, anybody that's listening and watches
- 18:58listen to the content ahead of, you know, to the show notes.
- 19:00Like I said, some of the stuff that like Richard and I have
- 19:03talked about, is that we are two very different people when it
- 19:08comes to our You all call it, like religious views or
- 19:13spirituality. You know, me being a pagan of
- 19:16following kind of like a dramatic or Norse view of things
- 19:20and you having a sort of. And, you know, I think it's an
- 19:25interesting topic to talk about Richard because you even have a
- 19:28label because, like, we've talked about, like, enochian
- 19:31Keys. Yeah.
- 19:32Magic, your you don't necessarily adhere to her adopt,
- 19:37100% everything of it. You just have a lot of the
- 19:41Effie's with that that you find valuable but is it eclectic is
- 19:47but like I guess I guess the only really So for anybody who
- 19:56wants to know I, you know, I read The Book of Enoch and that
- 20:05which is fascinating about that. Yeah, that book kind of rarely.
- 20:11helped me understand, you know, Christianity a little bit more
- 20:19than before and then and I meant had a former roommate who
- 20:26definitely practices 100% of the time, enochian magic, and that's
- 20:34like her thing and you know, and she showed me some things along
- 20:39the way and she was Kind of like a medium per se and then so she
- 20:46kind of helped get me a little bit into that somewhat but for a
- 20:54good while up until recently, I kind of got away from all that
- 20:59enochian, magic. All those Nokia magic things and
- 21:04just sort of focused on just philosophy and yeah.
- 21:11Here until more like a world universal view of what I want to
- 21:16have. My as my own faith I try not to
- 21:19adhere to any specific faith that is.
- 21:23I listen to things, I read things and I adopted into my own
- 21:31and so I guess I could call myself like a universal Pagan or
- 21:36Universal. Heathen spiritualist.
- 21:39Yeah. I mentioned it earlier on the
- 21:42podcast before you came on where, like, you're one of the
- 21:45guys, you're one of the people in my life who, like, first of
- 21:48all, brother, you know what I mean?
- 21:51A friend and a brother. And for those that listen and
- 21:54know me and the kind of approach that I have, I don't bestow
- 21:58familial titles on people. But all willy-nilly.
- 22:03You know what I mean? Like just because somebody
- 22:06believes in the gods just because somebody's like yeah hey
- 22:08load and that like that's not a Heat to familial connections,
- 22:14you know? Like it's a whole lot different
- 22:18in a You're the world. You of heathen re is is a whole
- 22:22lot different in in part of learning, even he is developing
- 22:27a worldview that is very unique and different than what a lot of
- 22:31folks may be brought up. And like I mean I was brought up
- 22:35Christian my world you for, you know, a couple decades was built
- 22:43around that mentality and I mentioned in the before when you
- 22:47before you came on was is that you are Of the people who I
- 22:51think of, as the most Heathen, non Heathen that I know, because
- 22:57you've been a part of our rituals.
- 22:58Like you've been a part of some. Well you've been a part of our
- 23:01like you land and things like that.
- 23:03And I love the fact that you know this is a prime example.
- 23:07What I like to try to you know coconut even ringing.
- 23:12Yeah and I've even paid respect to your God's with the with the
- 23:18during sambal and You know, things like that.
- 23:22Like we do the Oaths and you know and both yes and and all
- 23:29that sicko. Yeah yeah I think it's a great
- 23:31example of how people of differing opinions on things can
- 23:37co-exist amicably peacefully and actually you know, to be on just
- 23:43amicably, right? Because, you know, you can be,
- 23:45you can agree to disagree on a lot of things but like I feel
- 23:49like a lot of What you and I have developed as a friendship
- 23:52and as a sort of extension of our families over the years as
- 23:57really, cultivated a holistic approach to spirituality and
- 24:01just being a decent human being, right?
- 24:03Because labels aside, I'm when I am and I follow what I do and
- 24:08you are what you are and follow you do at the end of the day,
- 24:12that doesn't stop us from being as close as we are.
- 24:16The barriers are not so own that we Like there's nothing that I
- 24:23believe that you're like, you know what, I just can't even do
- 24:25with that man. And and vice versa, right?
- 24:28Like we can not just get along but we can actually learn things
- 24:32from each other and that's what I would love to see, right
- 24:34happen is that, you know, what you can wisdom is wisdom
- 24:36regardless of where it comes from and this is something that
- 24:39gets mentioned in some of the Icelandic sagas are the Norse
- 24:43sagas. Its wisdom is wisdom regardless
- 24:45of where you find her, where it comes from, and that's a loose
- 24:48paraphrase of it. But I think that with what Like
- 24:51you Richard like some of what you've talked about in the past
- 24:53that energy. Yeah, I mean it's just it is
- 24:56what it is and it transcends labels, and it transcends, you
- 25:01know, right? Because it's all it's all, you
- 25:07know, energy is energy and yet it's it transcends, any religion
- 25:14and like, you know, and if you can understand that then I think
- 25:21It helps with everything else that you believe in.
- 25:25So it was what you put into the world and, you know, put into
- 25:30the universe will return to you and kind you know that those are
- 25:35like to some people that might well that's kind of a basic
- 25:39Buddhist idea or concept you know, buzzer really if you think
- 25:45about it. I mean it's true.
- 25:48You know everything you put into your Religion.
- 25:51It's, you know, comes back and you know, and everything I put
- 25:55into in my faith comes Baguio, you know, Christianity, there's
- 25:59prayer, you know, you want to hear a, you know, like a
- 26:03response from you, hoping that God will hear your prayer and
- 26:07you will get a response. You know, that's putting your
- 26:11energies out into the world and matter, no matter how you cut
- 26:14it. And yeah, there's a lot of
- 26:18there's a lot of specific new Answers within Heathen re that
- 26:22depending on your approach, right?
- 26:24You know. So for those that are listening,
- 26:26when we talk about nuances and approaches the Heathen re, you
- 26:28know, nobody can officially be in a position to tell you how to
- 26:34Heathen unless, and there's a caveat to that because there's
- 26:40certain approaches to Heathen re that are very structured and are
- 26:43very not dogmatic, but that have a very like, Structured approach
- 26:52to, it has to be this way for it in order.
- 26:55In order for it to work, all right, I'm referring to someone
- 26:58like more like the Reconstructionist historical
- 27:01reconstructions types, which I myself am not one of.
- 27:04Although, a lot of what I take away from my own practices, it's
- 27:11on a lot of the historical seats of like there's, there's,
- 27:16there's a sense of solidity when you look at a historical
- 27:20approach, And we see this in a very variety of cultures, right?
- 27:24With religion and spirituality, you can look at, like, even if
- 27:27you wanted to go outside of heathen.
- 27:31We look at the Book of Enoch in enochian, keys, and enochian
- 27:35Magic, like, it's themes to hit within a certain group or
- 27:42certain demographic. I think Richard, you can
- 27:45probably speak more to this correctly, but like the, I don't
- 27:49know if this is accurate but He wants a like quote-unquote
- 27:51through, enochian beliefs, or whatever it resides or it comes
- 27:56back to Africa, or Ethiopia or somewhere in that region of the
- 28:02world. And yeah, maybe I don't know if
- 28:05you know anything or have any sort of insight that you want to
- 28:08speak to about that. But so so when it comes to the
- 28:11Ethiopia thinkers, you're talking about like they practice
- 28:18of very strict Christianity. Down there.
- 28:23Gotcha. And I don't really know all
- 28:27about it, but I do know that the adhere to the include the Book
- 28:32of Enoch and their teachings. So that is one of the only
- 28:38places in the world that uses that.
- 28:44Now there are might be a few places here in the United States
- 28:49where They might use a little bit of, you know, the Book of
- 28:54Enoch for like Sunday school or or just a little passage, you
- 29:00know. And right and but it's very
- 29:03looked down upon it's not, it's not Kansas and study, it's not
- 29:08the, they don't consider it Cannon.
- 29:12Sorry, Lucas film, where are you even saying?
- 29:19You know, it's not a king. James Bible.
- 29:21What do you mean? It's a good point, though,
- 29:34because I feel that there is so much that being raised as a
- 29:39Christian myself, right? And the type of Christianity
- 29:44that I was brought in brought up in Six to the King James version
- 29:50of the Bible, right? But man.
- 29:55Oh man like the gaps and the missus like if you were to those
- 30:01that are listening, you know, I'll try to include it in the
- 30:04show notes Book of Enoch there. There's audible readings of this
- 30:09like, yeah, listen to it on YouTube and stuff.
- 30:11Like, I remember Richard and I, we sat here, still here,
- 30:14whatever my house one night and we were Were streaming like this
- 30:19guy reading from The Book of Enoch and just funnel on my
- 30:23television. Honestly when I first read it,
- 30:25when I first show you we were drunk and I thought it was going
- 30:29to worry to death and nobody home and I never seen you.
- 30:34So engaged for real I mean for real because I'm like dude some
- 30:39of the stuff that you remember from the way you're brought up
- 30:42in and you know, look the fact that so much each of folks
- 30:48coming into Heathen re are arriving into this path.
- 30:54And carrying with them baggage from Christianity, right?
- 30:59Because look at how look at how much Christianity has an
- 31:02influence on the world. That's just the facts that
- 31:04people come into this and other religions am not just excluding
- 31:09or trying to, you know, keep out any others.
- 31:12But like so many people are are going coming from or coming into
- 31:17even rayon and other alternative spiritual and religious views of
- 31:21things from Christian. Any, right?
- 31:24Because listen to The Book of Enoch, man, or read it yourself,
- 31:27and you're like, oh yeah, when I read Genesis.
- 31:29So, when I read that, you know, like some of these Old Testament
- 31:33scripts that we have that existed in English, it fits in
- 31:38it or it feels rather I should say so many gaps.
- 31:41And that's why I was so engaged because I'm like, yeah, about
- 31:43that. And you go.
- 31:44Wow, this and you sit there and you wonder like why in the hell
- 31:47was this left out? Why was this excluded?
- 31:50And it Bears, the question, or We're brings about the question,
- 31:54is the why like why was this excluded?
- 31:58Why was this left out? I think.
- 32:00And I'm of the opinion that it was because There was just too
- 32:05much good that people could run with this and take something
- 32:09beyond what the church at the time was trying to an agenda as
- 32:12it were now that may be that may be, you know, just some kind of
- 32:16like, you know, because in folklore, there's your, he's
- 32:20battle. Yeah.
- 32:21Yeah. And throughout folklore history,
- 32:26there's always this battle between good and evil.
- 32:29And so, yeah, we see that same repeated, why?
- 32:33Why not Have that in the Bible as a showcase for the entire
- 32:41religion, you know, right. So when you read the, The Book
- 32:49of Enoch, any take it all in and there's no mention of hell and
- 32:56yeah, and without getting too involved.
- 32:59That's just plain and simple. They really goes in a way more
- 33:04detailed than that. Your and but there's not any
- 33:10mention of it at all whatsoever. And and as a matter of So the
- 33:17boat that I have the copy that I have, the author was really good
- 33:22and he pulled different classes or quotes that Enoch had said.
- 33:29And then later found it and in the New Testament where Jesus
- 33:36made the same exact quote, for me, not kind of alluding to the
- 33:40idea that maybe he you know respected Enoch or his teachings
- 33:48because you know, has a profit out I think you know and I guess
- 33:53like when work the the background that I come from is
- 33:56because like if you were to go to what existing Text that we
- 34:01have. Like if you were to go to the
- 34:02King, James Bible Old Testament. When you read about Enoch
- 34:06anywhere, it's passive. Like the mention of Enoch is
- 34:12like yeah. He was so and so and he was a
- 34:16guy and then he was a guy who walked with God and then he was
- 34:19taken up in the net was a it's so passive and then when you
- 34:22read The Book of Enoch and you see the visions that he had and
- 34:25then the subsequent the the Angelic language and the, you
- 34:32know key he's and all this kind of stuff like there is so much
- 34:35lore surrounding this guy that just got sort of written off as
- 34:37this like minor character in The Judea Christian lore you know
- 34:44and and I'm like why like there's so much left out that
- 34:48that fits like if you The Book of Enoch kind of fits into some
- 34:53of the other, you know, writings that you find in modern day,
- 34:59Christianity text and I'm going so, yeah.
- 35:04Where did it? Why like, why would you and it
- 35:06takes it, it ain't even taste it to a party.
- 35:09It's a rather than a more exaggerated Lee and I think.
- 35:13Yeah. And I think that, and I think
- 35:14that, again, me being the sort of like thinker that I am, I
- 35:17feel like it was it was excluded.
- 35:20Added from texts and things because that's the approach.
- 35:26There was a there's a definite like no other gods before me law
- 35:30and everything in the judeo Christian sector of things you
- 35:36know there shall be no other gods before me it's abrahamic
- 35:39law, this sort of thing, The Book of Enoch totally it
- 35:44discredits any of that? Because you're talking about a
- 35:47variety of angels deities. There's this, you know, Dynamic
- 35:52that totally defies a monotheistic approach to
- 35:56religion. Hmm, I think it's a, I think
- 35:59it's purely agenda based by The Book of Enoch is exclusively.
- 36:05It definitely raises those questions, you know.
- 36:07Yeah. I mean, I'm not going to be the
- 36:09one dead to answer that question.
- 36:11I really don't want to be that guy.
- 36:13That's the well, it's random, you know, I'm saying like, yeah,
- 36:15that guy, either fun. Hey, think about this sit.
- 36:20On this for a little while, let it marinate under your bunk and
- 36:24and think for yourself a little bit because, you know, again me
- 36:27being who I am and hearing what I heard and being where I'm from
- 36:30and doing what I do. Now I start, you know, two plus
- 36:33two equals six, you know Common Core math being the bitch that
- 36:39it is yes like yeah. This this doesn't make sense in.
- 36:44Why doesn't it make sense? Okay?
- 36:46Because you trying to pull a fast one, are you trying to
- 36:49trying to trying? Pull that a trying to pull that
- 36:52old, you trying to pull the Shocker on me, over here,
- 36:55without me knowing, you know what I'm saying.
- 36:58You know, saying he never expects a shocker that that
- 37:02yeah, you know, and the proverbial shocker, you know
- 37:05what I'm saying? You don't expect it, but uh,
- 37:09speaking of speaking of things that we don't expect, man often
- 37:13looks off topic but a little bit on topic.
- 37:17Yeah, out there listening there's this.
- 37:20This thing that I recently came across, and we're going to
- 37:25listen to it right now. So somewhere somewhere in and
- 37:29I'm not even going to say where, but I'm going to just go out on
- 37:32a limb and say probably somewhere in like Nebraska.
- 37:36Or somewhere in like Arkansas or somewhere in like, what's
- 37:42another picture is he wearing a corn on his head?
- 37:45It does. This guy's got it.
- 37:48Yeah, this guy's got a corn hat on and he's probably at least
- 37:5163. Maybe 72?
- 37:54I don't know. Because, you know, the deck, the
- 37:55decades, after the golden years, you know, how many 50 year olds,
- 38:01look like they're 70 and how many seven-year-olds look like?
- 38:03They're 50, right? We don't know this guy.
- 38:07This guy could be, this guy could be 47.
- 38:10This guy could be 93, we don't do that.
- 38:12But what we do know is that he's wearing a corn hat and what
- 38:16we're about to listen to. Yeah, is all ugh.
- 38:20Owen. Okay.
- 38:22And that's that's an official term.
- 38:24I think you were to you were to head over to the few here.
- 38:28If you were to head over to like shoot, I don't know, man.
- 38:33Like literally any more like you contest.
- 38:37Any barbecue area, if you were to like, you know, get a poll of
- 38:42people from any Midwestern to to South Eastern states of the
- 38:49United States. And there's probably a
- 38:51demographic that fits in all the work, as it got people listening
- 38:54to this crap about to watch our people and action.
- 38:58Exactly. You're about to listen to some.
- 39:00This is what it is. You got hog-callin, right?
- 39:02So people that need to Route rally up there.
- 39:04They're pigs. Yeah, Hogg calling but it's a it
- 39:09goes heavy metal. So this is the way it starts
- 39:11out, you're going to hear some. You're going to hear some people
- 39:13on a microphone. Displaying their hog calling
- 39:19skills, and they're going to be, there's going to be a backing
- 39:25track. That's some heavy metal guitar,
- 39:27some the Gent some again, some some some chugga-chugga,
- 39:31Griffey, riffy, you know, some all that.
- 39:33So this is what sounds like, here's what.
- 39:34Here's what you got. I started.
- 39:36All right, first, the first guy that starts off, he's like, I
- 39:38say he's wearing a corn hat, but here we, here we go.
- 39:52All right, hold on a sec. Just hold.
- 39:55Hold the hold the phone, right? Because the enthusiasm, right?
- 40:02First of all this man's all about calling them pigs piggy
- 40:07piggy. But does this not just like
- 40:10Richard, you know, like this isn't this like, have some like
- 40:12major like Well mix Vibes. Yeah.
- 40:18Alright but it's really the baselines.
- 40:22A book A book. It's like mr.
- 40:23Bungle meet Primus meets flummox and they all had an orgy in the
- 40:28in the shot out and then put this guy's vocals.
- 40:32Yeah. Right.
- 40:36This guy is all about it, man and got the bass lines, you
- 40:43know? Hello.
- 40:50He said, all right. Frankie the pigs got a name.
- 40:57Oh man, forget into the pit look.
- 41:00If when you start calling the pig by name, you better be ready
- 41:03to like throw some elbow down. Yeah, yeah, right.
- 41:07He calling you out. He said I think I see him.
- 41:13He's right there. Here Comes Frank.
- 41:17Yo. Frank, we know the pig's name is
- 41:21Frank because he's got that. He's got that he's got that Walt
- 41:26he's got that swans. Are you know Frank Pig?
- 41:29You know he doesn't just answer to that.
- 41:32Is that scream to that call? He swamp tours on up here like
- 41:36he always walking like walking down the catwalk.
- 41:38He's he's like the Honda on the catwalk.
- 41:41He's that is do that little turn on the catwalk for real.
- 41:48Here we go in. Then and then here comes the,
- 41:50here comes the, here comes the I don't know the coup de gras,
- 41:54it's a very long thing, but here we go.
- 42:02Come on Pig. oh, oh my gosh, he's all like word.
- 42:18I mean, just yeah, I can't do it.
- 42:22But man, this guy's dedicated. Let me tell you, this guy, this
- 42:26guy that you guys can't see, because you're listening, this
- 42:30guy has got the wraparound Shades.
- 42:32Like, he's Dale Earnhardt. Jr.
- 42:34'S egg like, the, the nut that came from Dale, Earnhardt,
- 42:41exemplified in the human being like the wraparound shades.
- 42:44It's the the the trimmed bowl cut the college a whole.
- 42:49Oh Dad. He's got, he's got, he's got
- 42:52that, you know, Alabama, tan going on, where he's got more
- 42:55red on his skin than anything because of that.
- 42:57You know, so many roles. I've been likes to roll Tide.
- 43:01Everybody does to roll time. He rolls all the tides but
- 43:05listen to that. Look at this.
- 43:06Is that pig squeal? Yeah I mean he could he could be
- 43:10in a grindcore band today. Yeah, cannibal Looks cannibal
- 43:17horns, Hannibal. You know, he could be, he could
- 43:20be in a grindcore band called, I don't know.
- 43:22Just, you know, diapers explosion or something.
- 43:26Yeah, justjust sewage explosives or something.
- 43:30Some ridiculous name, like he's got the grindcore, inhale, Pig
- 43:33squeals going on Legit with it, with his collared Polo and his
- 43:39and his, you know, it's middle of May.
- 43:42It's the beginning of June. I got a son.
- 43:44Burn because I've been stuck in the house for stressing, the
- 43:47eight months. Yeah, I have an idea.
- 43:50We need to have our own Tennessee, Heathen.
- 43:55Read hog-calling contest on your on, on one of your On one ear.
- 44:03Next pot Futurama. Yeah, it this is a call to
- 44:06action. Anybody that's yeah.
- 44:08See that thinks they can do better than this listen to
- 44:10listen to the listen to the rest of this.
- 44:16He's all right. He didn't have the longevity
- 44:20though, that I can do it, but he doesn't have the.
- 44:23He doesn't have the stamina. He's just like, I'm done.
- 44:26I'm out. It's all he needs.
- 44:28Here we go with So with the white T-shirt freaking, you
- 44:37know, receding hairline, no 43 year-old.
- 44:41I just, you know, paid off my Ford F-150.
- 44:47Yeah. Cut, you know, love and life
- 44:49here in in Tulsa. Oklahoma looking self right with
- 44:55the Sioux. Here we go.
- 45:08Now, we're getting into it now. We're getting to the snorts now.
- 45:10We're getting now, these people like I'm trying to connect with
- 45:13the animal trying to gore getting swampy again, singing
- 45:16they are the get into good chuggy and they're getting
- 45:18swampy. They're they're touching on that
- 45:20nasal. Yeah stuff man, they're getting
- 45:23the nasal passage We doing some of them in.
- 45:30Here we go. Oh man.
- 45:38Okay, now now hold on a minute because I know now we're about
- 45:41to get into now we're getting to the cream of the crop when I say
- 45:44cream. I'm talking about creamed corn.
- 45:46Okay? Talking about, I'm talking about
- 45:48some sickle gravy. Okay, all right.
- 45:52Yeah, some slop. You know, how anybody out here?
- 45:55That knows about feeding pigs, but you gotta go, you gotta go
- 45:58out in slop pigs, right? Yeah, this is this is some slap
- 46:01right here. Everything that we've heard up
- 46:03to this point is leading to the point.
- 46:06Okay? This is what we got going on
- 46:07right here. This is this is this is that
- 46:09probably as best as it gets, check this out, right?
- 46:20Okay I'm going to look this this this all broad right here.
- 46:24This is so broad is like straight up from you know it's
- 46:29like down-home likes. You know that song?
- 46:31Sweet Home Alabama. Yeah it's a broad right here.
- 46:35This is Sweet Home Nebraska man because she's she's getting into
- 46:39it. Not only is she like Doing the
- 46:42voice and everything but like she's like, embracing the, the
- 46:46behavior man. Like she's getting all like
- 46:48fought. Like, she's getting their all to
- 46:50put your body into it. Yeah, she's yeah, she's good.
- 46:53These are putting that he's like, for real.
- 47:12Look man. She was cutting the mic that you
- 47:13guys can't see it but like he was like help in the mic like
- 47:17embroiled hands. Not just one hand cupping to
- 47:19Mike. She was like, oh, hands cup of
- 47:21mixed going on was gonna call you.
- 47:23Yeah, yeah, yes. Core pig, squealing all calling
- 47:28legit. Nebraska, you should be proud.
- 47:44Yeah, because this old gal right here, man.
- 47:47She's bringing it home. You guys won the trophy for this
- 47:50single and ready to mingle on tender farmersonly.com and got
- 47:56nothing on this old gal. Oh, what the fuck?
- 48:01She said, she's dirty wait. Wait, hold on, hold on, let me
- 48:08back up. I like to get dirty.
- 48:17Oh God. Roll around in the mud.
- 48:22She ain't scared. Yeah, so bad.
- 48:25That sounds. That's how bad Nebraska wants
- 48:27this trophy. Oh man, she went there she went
- 48:35That's all folks, he went, she went Porky Pig, you know what?
- 48:38Yeah that's it that's it. If it wins that's it you can't
- 48:43end it with with a Porky Pig catchphrase and not win.
- 48:48The hog-calling contest of whatever this was wherever this
- 48:53was like that's it. Solidly definitely this is
- 48:57definitely makes me want to do. Yeah.
- 48:59A contest of our own like It's like, we need to do this.
- 49:05Like what do I got to do? Man?
- 49:08What I've got to do it like what are we gonna do?
- 49:10I'm a bit. I'm flabbergasted by the fact
- 49:14that this sort of thing exists and this is kind of goes to show
- 49:18you, right? Folks.
- 49:19We talked about random Heathen ramblings.
- 49:21Like this is the kind of Randomness that happens, man.
- 49:24Man, we just, we just listened to just some, some, some people.
- 49:28Yeah. So this is like, who like Of all
- 49:32like, what do you win? What do you mean?
- 49:34It's a hog-calling contest which means there's a prize, which
- 49:39means people. So, I got to talk about this
- 49:44thing that you and I talked about before we went on the air.
- 49:50So years and years ago, when I was just a little deck, I was
- 49:55on, I was involved in a Miss Piggy contest in Jackson,
- 50:00Tennessee. And it had it was like we just
- 50:05listened to you. Late 80s, early 90s.
- 50:08Okay was my mother and I and it was a Miss Piggy and Junior kind
- 50:13of thing. And we did like a bunch of lines
- 50:19exchange that was like scripted. And then we went into the song
- 50:24and we danced to Rollin on a river at the Tina.
- 50:27Turner version, the I can't in a home and Man.
- 50:33Yeah, it was pure gold and everything else that I have on
- 50:37this video is pure gold because before the Miss Piggy contest,
- 50:42there was a hog-calling contest and there was a guy who sounded
- 50:46just like Axl Rose. And if we can do a video to that
- 50:52guy and Welcome to the Jungle, be perfect and you know what you
- 50:58have to do now, right? You're going to have to, you're
- 51:00going to have to touch base. Again with me with that and
- 51:04we're going to need to at least let the listeners hear this.
- 51:06Because when you start talking about a Miss Piggy and Junior
- 51:12thing in Jackson, Tennessee, and in that, it was an actual,
- 51:15hog-calling contest. And that there was a guy that
- 51:17Senate Axl Rose. I mean, come on.
- 51:19Like the people want to hear it. The people gotta do, they got.
- 51:22I gotta know, I gotta know. And also in the video like
- 51:26throughout the video, my uncle was in it and he had just gotten
- 51:30back from Back during the during the Desert Storm.
- 51:36Yeah. And so this was like 1992 ish
- 51:40and he had he was wearing the guard from like the Middle East
- 51:46from like Saudi Arabia. He had like, the he had the
- 51:50headdress on and everything. Okay.
- 51:53He was going around to my family.
- 51:55Yeah, he was. He was saying, like, I knew she
- 51:58and was just ranting all the judges and During this barbecue
- 52:04contest and he's going like I just doing the and just like
- 52:10saying a bunch of this random gibberish, you know.
- 52:14Yeah, and there was a next to him was these were these like he
- 52:20very redneck. Barbecue competitor that had
- 52:28the. Can they have the Confederate
- 52:29flag up? And this is, yeah, the nullity,
- 52:31right? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 52:32That would direct, I'm a direct descendant of, yeah, of.
- 52:37So, they hugs clients? So behind.
- 52:39So, in this video, there's a scene where he's talking, the
- 52:42Ameren right behind me. Were these redneck guys that had
- 52:46like the Confederate flag and everything.
- 52:48It was draped down, like behind him and everything, he's just
- 52:52carrying on you. Going to align.
- 52:54These guys are like coming up on them, giving these weird loads
- 52:57of like, I'm going to get you boy and it was welcome to
- 53:02Tennessee to whole. The whole video is like from
- 53:06start to finish just pure gold but like, I'll definitely trim
- 53:10it down to where I could send you the Miss Piggy and Junior
- 53:14and the hog-calling contest. Yes.
- 53:17Yeah, and maybe we can do something with that.
- 53:21I'm gonna bail on it. Yeah, you can joke about it.
- 53:24Yeah man. Yeah, let's do it.
- 53:27Let's let's have that and that's the thing, right?
- 53:30Like like for those that are listening like you're missing
- 53:33out on the visual aspects of it but come on.
- 53:36How do you like even if you're just drunk driving down the road
- 53:40right now, you didn't work. You coming back from work,
- 53:42you're doing whatever, you're making breakfast for the kids,
- 53:46whatever. You know, we got people
- 53:47listening all over the world. Whenever this comes out, you
- 53:49guys are listening to just Pure random Heathen rambling, gold.
- 53:54Yeah. And that sounds like it's right
- 53:56up the alley. So yeah, we definitely got to
- 53:58have you back on for that everybody that wants to hear
- 54:03more about it up. Folk the podcast episode call me

- 54:28You guys know about. Aha, right?
- 54:34The Take On Me. Take me on like the whole thing
- 54:39from like the 80s butter, right? or whatever, but this is a This

- 55:08long minute and a half tops, but this is the track without music,
- 55:11right? So here we go.
- 55:17Are you sitting here looking at the thanks for the coffee?
- 55:34There's no music. She grabs the hand.
- 55:38You get sucked into the newspaper.
- 55:59This the bad news is the bad like drum track like the snare
- 56:05and yeah you just like you're here but there's no there's no
- 56:10real Rhythm to anything. You just like Kind of in this.
- 56:13Like so remember remember when they used to do like Kiss shreds
- 56:18and all the PS This shreds videos?
- 56:21Yeah. This is kind of like that.
- 56:23It's kind of like that, right? Yeah.
- 56:28It's like honks - that's for him.
- 56:39I'm sorry, but like so he says, shut up.
- 56:47Blake. Hold on.
- 57:01I got a I got a pause for just a second just because of the hold
- 57:07on let me be a backup because I'm losing it weight
- 57:25without any music without any context, right?
- 57:27You just it's like there's this chaos that's going on and you're
- 57:30stuck in this. Newspaper world
- 57:54in the real world. So count newspaper versus 20.
- 58:05Selfie struggling. He's struggling to get between
- 58:09the Realms, man. I'm stuck in the newspaper
- 58:12round. I'm trying to get back to the
- 58:13real world. Dude, looking like he's the, the
- 58:22wish version of Patrick Swayze in road.
- 58:24Yeah. And that was it, that was it,
- 58:35that's great. I'm sorry, man, but like that
- 58:39was, I liked that video, just transitioned into an uncle,
- 58:43Roger video, whatever you guys listen to be like, man, like the
- 58:46guy was just I'm sorry, I'm sorry for, I'm sorry, for that
- 58:53level of Randomness because it seems to go off on some sort of
- 58:57weird level of things, man. But uh, oh yeah, let's let's
- 59:03let's get weird, right? Let's like, let's get weird on
- 59:06it. Yeah, I told you.
- 59:08I do Lola. I said this is today is what
- 59:16pagans Cans in enochian, folks, Vixen mixing weird or tie and
- 59:22we're together, you get, you know, hog-callin videos and aha
- 59:26videos for Take On Me Without music.
- 59:29That's what you get. And yeah, you got a dick to come
- 59:34on the podcast. I mean, yeah, there's, you know
- 59:38if anybody wanted to or not, if anybody was like this, you know,
- 59:44unsolicited dick pics. That's an unfair.
- 59:49I was soliciting but I solicited.
- 59:52This one is solicit and the solicitation of sort of how dare
- 1:00:05you. How dare you, how dare we say
- 1:00:08things? Man, that's great.
- 1:00:16The metal hog-calling. I didn't know.
- 1:00:18That was a thing right now on YouTube, but then again, it's
- 1:00:21the internet. So it is, I'm going to, I'm
- 1:00:24going to add it to the show notes because I found it on
- 1:00:26Facebook, you know, for any listeners that don't get into
- 1:00:29Facebook, which is probably a very Niche group.
- 1:00:34I'm sorry. But you heard it here first?
- 1:00:37Yeah, maybe not first, but you heard it here so you know, you
- 1:00:42just look up. Hog-calling goes Online.
- 1:00:47And I'm almost guaranteed to say that they're probably exists
- 1:00:51some sort of like subreddit read or something somewhere.
- 1:00:55If you're not on Facebook or whatever, it'll be linked in the
- 1:00:58in the show notes of the podcast, if you want to go and
- 1:01:02listen to the whole thing. But I'm sure there's got to be
- 1:01:06more videos, there's got to be more, there's got to be more
- 1:01:08platforms where it's it's out there but I don't know, man.
- 1:01:14That last one though, I'm sorry that I lost it so bad.
- 1:01:17We're it's like shut up. It's it's just absolute chaos.
- 1:01:20For there's like the lady screaming in the cats like rats.
- 1:01:38Let me just let me just choose some noodles in your ear, you
- 1:01:41know, like crumble up some styrofoam.
- 1:01:44Yes. Yeah.
- 1:01:45Like the most abrasive sounds that you can pause.
- 1:01:49ASMR be damned. You know, you just yeah.
- 1:01:53What is the most annoying sound in the world?
- 1:01:55Like, oh, you got, you got, you got Nails on a chalkboard.
- 1:01:59Oh no. There, I've got some news paper
- 1:02:02crumbling or I got some You know, cats, yammering or
- 1:02:07whatever. And yeah, it's just and a lady
- 1:02:10occasionally going, mmm, right? She was sad as it sounded like
- 1:02:15she was satisfied, right? You like like satisfied with the
- 1:02:19annoying sounds? Yeah, more of that, hmm.
- 1:02:26The speaking of ladies and being satisfied, oh the random stanza
- 1:02:32from the Hall of them all that. We have selected two Today, I've
- 1:02:37been on those lines like so on those lines.
- 1:02:41But off those lines, there's a bit of a Twist to this sort of
- 1:02:47thing. Is everybody knows that listens
- 1:02:49to the podcast, we do a random stanza from the Hall of them.
- 1:02:52All discussion are talking about and it's usually just me like
- 1:02:58picking random stanza and it's offered my own thing but now
- 1:03:01that we've got The illustrious, Richard McCune on here to hear
- 1:03:07the dialogue, we're going to get an outsider's or external
- 1:03:12opinion. So this is the 91st stanza
- 1:03:18stanza, 91 from the Hall of them all and I read from various
- 1:03:22translations of the Jamon, usually, they all tie in the
- 1:03:25usually all mean roughly the same thing.
- 1:03:28It's just the verbiage or how it's delivered.
- 1:03:33So we've got Auden and Taylor, the phone under ottoman Taylor
- 1:03:37translation all in their translation.
- 1:03:41The warping Ray. Terry Bellows and Jackson
- 1:03:48Crawford. So there's going to be like
- 1:03:51seven different translations that we hear from.
- 1:03:55We're going to talk about it just a little bit.
- 1:03:57So I'll start with the ottoman Taylor translation and this is
- 1:04:02stanza 91 from the Hall of them all. which says Naked I may
- 1:04:07speak now or I know both, Men are treacherous too.
- 1:04:15Fairest, we speak when all cyst we think many a maid is deceive.
- 1:04:25The hall under translation reads, heed my words.
- 1:04:29Now, for I know them both Mains. Mains weren't our men to women.
- 1:04:36We speak most fair, when most foul, our thoughts, or what
- 1:04:42Wiles? The, where is the width?
- 1:04:47Very translation, reads. Believe what?
- 1:04:49I say? I know them both men.
- 1:04:52Don't keep Faith with women. He speak Fair words.
- 1:04:55When we think most falsely to be wilder, the widths of the wise,
- 1:05:03The Thorpe translation reads openly.
- 1:05:05I now speak because I both sexes.
- 1:05:09No unstable or men's Minds towards women.
- 1:05:13His then we speak most fairer when we most falsely think.
- 1:05:18That deceives even cautious. Bellows reads.
- 1:05:25Clear now will I speak for? I know them both men false to
- 1:05:30women around when fairest we speak Then Fall stiffest pulses,
- 1:05:35that we think against wisdom, we work with the seat.
- 1:05:42He Oliver Brave translation is actually stanza 89, which is a
- 1:05:47couple of stanzas off. We see this theme repeated in
- 1:05:49the Hall of them all numerous times.
- 1:05:52But the the sentiment is similar now plainly.
- 1:05:54I speak. Since both I have seen
- 1:05:56Unfaithful is man to made. We speak them fairest, thoughts
- 1:06:01are falsest and pile, the wisest of hearts.
- 1:06:07And then to finish it up is the Jackson Crawford version of this
- 1:06:11stanza as found in The Wanderers of them.
- 1:06:14All and his translation reads I'll speak plainly.
- 1:06:18Now since I know both went men and women.
- 1:06:23Men lie, the women we speak most eloquently when we tell the
- 1:06:29biggest lies and seduce even wise women with lies.
- 1:06:38Now, again, the theme across seven different translations of
- 1:06:44the same stanza. Pretty much deliver a common
- 1:06:52idea, right? And I think it's interesting to
- 1:06:55note that you know, when it comes to relationships, when it
- 1:07:03comes to The Battle of the Sexes as it were right.
- 1:07:07A lot of the staying or a lot of the a lot of the feedback comes
- 1:07:16from like you. Ladies a bunch of hos, y'all
- 1:07:18Bunch, you know I'm saying like they did it, the feminine tends
- 1:07:22to get a the the largest flak brought on them, you know.
- 1:07:27Well, but I feel like, you know what we're hearing here is that
- 1:07:32You know. You know, we if you were to read
- 1:07:37the the surrounding stanzas that precede this one, you're going
- 1:07:42to hear a lot of disdain being brought on the women were
- 1:07:45brought on the ladies because of context around it.
- 1:07:49Odin at this time of the, of the stanzas of the Harbour Mall was
- 1:07:53like this bitch. You know, she was being a
- 1:07:56certain way and I India, he's it's like there's this
- 1:07:59vocalization of this thing towards women and how they're
- 1:08:02not to be trusted. Because they know they're there
- 1:08:05their hearts are are woven on threads of like there.
- 1:08:10There's so much like allegory tied to like symbology and
- 1:08:14things. But yet in this stanza, We hear
- 1:08:18that, you know what men are just as bad at times because we tend
- 1:08:23to speak a good game. We want to win appealing to the
- 1:08:29womenfolk ER or to those that we want to impress, right on the
- 1:08:34bravest on the strongest, on the wisest, on the richest Of The
- 1:08:37Dashing of the daring, I'm the bestest on the greatest, you
- 1:08:40know? Speak mad game, right?
- 1:08:45And then when it comes down to it, There's not a whole lot left
- 1:08:50there and there's there's things to be learned.
- 1:08:53I think from both masculine and The Feminine, it's not until
- 1:08:57after you have one heart. Of that individual that you
- 1:09:04really truly know things about them, and that takes time.
- 1:09:10I feel, you know, so for those, I feel that think that the
- 1:09:17themes of the Hall of mul tend to degrade or speak down to
- 1:09:22feminine or womenfolk or whatever.
- 1:09:25There's there's recognition here that men or as equally The
- 1:09:33testable at times, you can be some, we we can be some real
- 1:09:38a-holes, you know what I mean? Like, yeah, we can.
- 1:09:42And it's not just the fact that, you know, women are this, women
- 1:09:47are that there's, you know, the separation between genders or
- 1:09:51the definition between genders, at the time was something
- 1:09:55different, but you know, especially now in today's
- 1:09:59society, the traditions of cording or so much, Different.
- 1:10:07Yeah they are aren't they do like they, you know, that was
- 1:10:10something I was gonna maybe touch on, you know and because
- 1:10:17you know if this was said, Out loud and, you know, public, you
- 1:10:27know, on a which it kind of is right now.
- 1:10:29This is kind of is right now. I'm saying this out loud in
- 1:10:32public, right? Oh yeah, so man, get me but I
- 1:10:43think I can find out if you were saying this in front of a large
- 1:10:47group of women, it would probably B. taken in a different
- 1:10:56way, you know, Andy because Society and Norms have changed
- 1:11:07over the years, you know, women do, you know women's roles have
- 1:11:14changed, you know, there's really strong women out there,
- 1:11:18you know, who were hard and get paid just as well as men do.
- 1:11:24And, you know, women who take who are single mothers and take
- 1:11:31care of, you know, too. sometimes three kids, and So it
- 1:11:39can be now. I think like, sorry.
- 1:11:42I like I think like, you know, when we talk about like the role
- 1:11:45of women and the role of the feminine nowadays, we were like
- 1:11:50the the positive things you're talking about like women can and
- 1:11:55in the professional sector or in like, you know, you can earn as
- 1:12:00much as a man or you can, you know, they're doing all these
- 1:12:03things, you know, single mothers, raising children, stuff
- 1:12:05like that, to me, that's X to the power and the strength that
- 1:12:11inherently is there in the feminine.
- 1:12:17In womenfolk, so much of modern society at least in American
- 1:12:23society has placed this I think unnecessary Exaltation on and
- 1:12:30like yes there are things that I feel in certain societies men
- 1:12:36are positioned to do in that are that are more equipped to do,
- 1:12:40but it's not too, it's not, it's not in the it's not to the
- 1:12:43content, the it's not the extent, I should say, it's not
- 1:12:48the extent of like can't do it. Is that everyone has a role in
- 1:12:52society. Everyone has important role and
- 1:12:54the women and The Feminine a van. such a strong and important
- 1:12:59role in society and in the family unit, especially that
- 1:13:02like we talking about, You know, the challenges of providing for
- 1:13:08a home and raising children. All these sort of things, the
- 1:13:11strength that women inherently are given I feel, as is
- 1:13:17underappreciated and underwhelmed in modern society.
- 1:13:20Like it's maybe not underwent an underappreciated like this whole
- 1:13:25thing. Just kind of sheds a light on
- 1:13:27the treachery or the or the Diabolical.
- 1:13:29Knits of a man trying to impress women like Oh, I'm a man, I do
- 1:13:35this. That for her.
- 1:13:36Look at me, but see it. Now, more in modern society,
- 1:13:39where it's like, there's that those lines are, you know, maybe
- 1:13:43not so quite, but also got the first, the first part that you
- 1:13:49read a kind of token, a kind of to both in a different way when
- 1:13:56he's especially the first the very first one translation that
- 1:14:01you read the very very first one.
- 1:14:05Where man stands naked naked. I may speak now for I know,
- 1:14:12right? So when I hear that message,
- 1:14:17like that's a very Like here I am and baring it all
- 1:14:24invulnerable honorable and speaking the truth because when
- 1:14:30I don't is very obvious, you know?
- 1:14:34You can take that as well. You know, like I think when men
- 1:14:39tell the truth, we are baring it all. and when we lie, It is.
- 1:14:50I lie very poorly. I'm will that is something I am.
- 1:14:56Totally afraid totally willing to admit, right?
- 1:15:01So when I, when I speak and and talk to people, I come from an
- 1:15:09honest place and that and so I'm I made look, come across as
- 1:15:14being a little vulnerable. and that's very common, amongst men
- 1:15:21today, you know, as because With every with every positive there
- 1:15:30is unfortunately a - and you served every coin.
- 1:15:34Yeah. And you know So there's always
- 1:15:41going to be, you know, a person out there who does not like man
- 1:15:49you know and people who are very feminist have different feminist
- 1:15:56few points and use it to use it in a negative way rather than a
- 1:16:03positive way and take advantage of that.
- 1:16:08Vulnerability and richer. We see that like all the time
- 1:16:16and it happens to a lot of people person on a personal
- 1:16:19level. You know it's happened to me.
- 1:16:23Sure it's happened to you it's because we Barrel, you know.
- 1:16:30Yeah. I think there's I think there's
- 1:16:31a lot of I think with this stanza, you know, like it's
- 1:16:38hitting on, it's hitting a nerve that is again.
- 1:16:40If you were to take it in context with stanzas that appear
- 1:16:43before this, it's like it's hitting on the women folk.
- 1:16:46Like it's women are this when we're that can't trust them,
- 1:16:50they're their emotions are woven on threads there, their poverty
- 1:16:53block and then all of a sudden you got this one.
- 1:16:55That's just like oh yeah. By the way guys you're not
- 1:16:59exempt. You also can be a bunch of
- 1:17:02a-holes because you want to talk a big game.
- 1:17:05You want to do want to end an Amur, the the women or whatever,
- 1:17:09you know. So, genders aside rolls aside.
- 1:17:13This I think this stanza particularly really speaks to
- 1:17:17the An ability of Manatee, right?
- 1:17:25So like, regardless of woman, regardless of a man, or how, how
- 1:17:30one would identify there are things that are just inherently
- 1:17:36human nature that can sometimes and quite often be Detrimental
- 1:17:42to the development of a relationship.
- 1:17:45We live in a, such a progressive time nowadays where roles are a
- 1:17:49little bit, muddled dinner or identities and stuff there that
- 1:17:53the lines are not quite so clearly defined and I'm not in
- 1:17:55any position and I don't promote anything on this platform to be
- 1:18:00and you know one side left or right, one side, or the other
- 1:18:04role that you know I'm saying. Like so I feel like this this
- 1:18:07just kind of encompasses and Embraces.
- 1:18:09The fact that That nobody is in modern times, at least Society
- 1:18:15was flawed thousands of years ago and you gotta think and
- 1:18:19taken to context where these writings and where these stanzas
- 1:18:23come from was in a society that was, you know, 1000 1200,
- 1:18:26whatever years old, I did you see different back then and now
- 1:18:31we're applying these teachings. These thoughts these ideas into
- 1:18:35modern time, we don't, we don't stand Guiltless, ladies and
- 1:18:39gentlemen. Boys and girls and non-binary.
- 1:18:43It had to be like, it's all out there and, you know, people just
- 1:18:47can inherently. People can just be some real
- 1:18:49Prix at times. And I think that another thing
- 1:18:54you could maybe take from this messages, you know, to be honest
- 1:18:59with your, with your loved one. In says, they will always know
- 1:19:04when you're lying, you know, or not, you're not being honest.
- 1:19:10As this true. So I guess if you want to take a
- 1:19:15modern approach to this message, that's where I would take it,
- 1:19:22you know. Right.
- 1:19:23I mean you can try to break it down and this this like we were
- 1:19:27doing but it really at the end of the day that's I think this
- 1:19:34is what that message means to us, you know today, you know,
- 1:19:41Yeah. Now I like the analysis and I
- 1:19:44like the breakdown of it as shared from two different people
- 1:19:48that have two different approaches to life.
- 1:19:50That have two different seemingly, Different World Views
- 1:19:56on life. And yet, we can find a common
- 1:19:58ground in re on so many things. So, I think, the one of the big
- 1:20:02takeaways from it is that out of all the randomness out of all
- 1:20:05the things. Like, here's a, here's a living
- 1:20:07breathing example, for those that are listening that You
- 1:20:11know, you don't have to be so. Restricted in your approach
- 1:20:16things and you don't have to be so restrictive in your inclusion
- 1:20:20with things. Yeah, been a really to, you
- 1:20:25know, if you're, you know, if you follow this North's Heathen
- 1:20:29re Germanic paganism type of path doesn't mean you're
- 1:20:35restricted to only friends who are follow that that a specific
- 1:20:40path. I mean you you can talk to
- 1:20:42anybody about anything. You know, when you have a good
- 1:20:47friendship. Yeah, you know, that's those are
- 1:20:50the, what makes friendship good and Lasting is being able to You
- 1:20:58know, I have this relationship, you know, where we can talk or
- 1:21:02two different paths and, but yet, we can come together and
- 1:21:08cross and share ideas. You know, is where it's pretty
- 1:21:12rare, it's pretty rare, but I mean, doesn't mean it can
- 1:21:17happen. More can't happen.
- 1:21:19More often than mean, you just gotta trust yourself and put
- 1:21:23yourself out there to the universe and You know, and
- 1:21:28Universal responding kind, you know?
- 1:21:31Yeah. so, you know, for a long time I was you know living in
- 1:21:39and Murfreesboro I lived in Murfreesboro for good many years
- 1:21:44since 2004 and and before I'm, I never had, I've had a few
- 1:21:52acquaintances here and there hit and miss, but like not, I really
- 1:21:56good. Solid friend, just outside of
- 1:22:01the people that I small circle, I really knew and and I kind of
- 1:22:09was wanting that I was putting myself out there that I really
- 1:22:12wanted that and and it happened You know, yeah.
- 1:22:22Yeah, man. This is, this is a super fun
- 1:22:24episode. Oh yeah, I hope, I hope
- 1:22:27everybody. That's listen to it has or will,
- 1:22:30you know? Find find some value to it
- 1:22:34because I've had a great time and I appreciate you Richard
- 1:22:38taking the time to be a part of it always and and you're always
- 1:22:42welcome here. Yo, and I'm always at, oh, yeah,
- 1:22:49yeah, yeah. Now I'm always want to talk them
- 1:22:56out about my beliefs as long as people want to want to hear it,
- 1:23:02you know. So I think it'd be a fun thing
- 1:23:04to do, some more stuff about that, you know, in a little
- 1:23:08deeper. Yeah, for sure is again, these
- 1:23:12are random Heathen ramblings and so we get as random as as you've
- 1:23:15heard it tonight and more things come.
