1 Samuel 15–16 is one of the great turning points in Scripture. These chapters show Saul being rejected as king because of disobedience and David being chosen because God sees the heart. The message is unmistakable: outward position, public image, and religious language cannot replace wholehearted obedience to God. God is not impressed by appearance without surrender. He rejects rebellion, and he raises up the one whose heart is toward him.
